Weekly Tea #3 - INSTANT NAUSEA CURE
Lemon Ginger
Tumblr media
I don't know about you, but I occassionally get really bad menstrual cramps. Cramps so bad I shake and get nauseous. Of course there's teas for the cramps themselves but this time I want to cover what instantly fixed my nausea - Twining's Lemon & Ginger tea.
Have you ever had that feeling (people with uteruses can relate if they get terrible cramps) where your stomach is cramping so bad that it feels like things are about to come out both ends at the same time? Yea, that was me.
Thankfully, I wasn't home alone during these cramps so I asked my dad to make the tea for me as I was in no shape to get up from the toilet and do it myself at the moment. I had taken Tylenol right before this cramp attack, so I knew it was only a matter of time before sweet, sweet relief. In the meantime, I had to ride it out as best I could...
Because this was the most nauseous I had felt during cramps in awhile, the first remedy that came to mind was ginger and I had just seen a brand new box of this tea in the kitchen.
Once my dad brought it to me, I forced a sip down. And another, in between the cramps. It got to a point where I couldn't safely hold the teacup to my mouth with one hand because I was shaking from the pain so badly. So I just held the cup and saucer to my nose with both hands and took big inhales of the smell.
And that was it.
The nausea was gone and the cramps subsided just enough (divine timing, I am not attributing this to the tea) to allow me to quickly travel to my bed from my miserable place on the toilet. The pain was still so bad I wanted to cry. I called my boyfriend and his comforting words and dad jokes took my mind off the pain just long enough to tide me over until the Tylenol finally kicked in (around 40-45 min later on an empty stomach).
If you want my menstrual cramp tea recipe, let me know and I'll do a whole post on that soon.
I highly recommend this tea for nausea (not just menstrual nausea, but I think it'd help morning sickness and vertigo as well - let me know in the comments below!).

The Weekly Tea #2
The Secret Garden's Pomegranate Green Tea
Tumblr media
Started working with the goddess Persephone and because of this, I started to look for anything and everything pomegranate. I had a bit of off-brand pomegranate green tea at home, so I already knew it was a flavor I liked.
But this tea by The Secret Garden tastes soooo much better than what I had at home! The tea comes in an absolutely stunning metal tin as well, complete with ferns and pomegranates around the whole thing.
This tea comes with a gold bag inside where the 50 tea bags are kept. I opened the bag and put the tea bags directly into the tin itself. It just is more convenient and looks nicer in my opinion. You can smell the fruitiness of the pomegranate through the bag when you open the tin which I was really impressed by.
I am very happy with this tea. It's in a beautiful tin. It tastes fresh and smells fantastic. I'd like to have this on hand at all times as well. It's got the health benefits of green tea without the grassy aftertaste. And it's fruity but not overbearingly so. For those wanting to get into green tea, I'd say this is a good starting point. It is also excellent for those who want a good healthy tea that (in my opinion) tastes sweet enough on its own.
The color is a bit dark yellow, not red or anything like how I was expecting (because of the fruity smell).
10/10

P.S. Sorry for the lack of posts, been feeling a bit unmotivated lately but I'm back! I hope you're enjoying!

⛧ Spell for a New Houseplant
Summer is a very good time to bring plants into your life, they are an easy way to invite beauty and magick into your home. Even if you're not much of a gardener, consider bringing a few low maintenance houseplants into your home.
Speak to your plants and consciously charge them with a task in the household. When you bring a new plant home, concentrate on it's purpose and say :
"Welcome home, friend. I ask that you bring your own magick to this home. I will care for you, and together let us be partners."
Write your specific instructions for your new plant on a slip of rice paper and bury it in the soil to decompose. As the plant grows and flourishes, it's magick will come to fruition. Be sure to research and provide any special care your plant may require so you can return the favor.
Color of the Day : Yellow
Incense of the Day : Honeysuckle

The Weekly Tea #1
Iced Celestial Seasoning's Raspberry Zinger Tea
Tumblr media
I love tea. Hot tea mainly. I offered to make my boyfriend some tea when he came over to visit me last time. But he hates hot drinks. So, I decided to make this into iced tea. I've never tried making iced tea before, but thankfully it was just as simple as I imagined it to be!
I fired up my tea pot with this Raspberry Zinger, threw in the tea bags, and got to work boiling it.
When it was sufficiently steeped and a beautiful red color, I took it off the heat and let it cool just a tad bit before adding the sugar (don't let it cool too long or the sugar won't dissolve and it will just sit at the bottom!). Now I have no idea how much I actually added - I did two heaping spoonfuls then a few teaspoons after til I got just the right amount of sweetness.
He adored it. And I adored it so much I drank half before he even came over... He wasn't too happy about that part.
We also still have some of the blueberry flavor one (my favorite - see a previous post about how much I gush over it) that I'm going to make into iced tea next. When I do, I'll post that here as well.
You will not be disappointed! Hot or cold, this tea is amazing! But make sure to add a bit of white sugar to take off the tartness if you don't like that sort of thing!

The Daily Tea #11
Butterfly Pea Flower Tea
Tumblr media
Yes, it really does get that blue.
I found this tea on Tiktok and couldn't believe the insane color - so I had to try it for myself. Luckily, it's readily and cheaply available on Amazon.
I'm going to make my own Tiktok of me making this tea and adding the lemon juice to change its color so just keep a lookout for my Tiktok link below.
The bag says to use 1-2 teaspoons of flowers, however, the flowers are so long and big that one flower is much bigger than the teaspoon.
So I just half-filled a herb strainer with the flowers. I didn't add anything else, and that was probably a mistake taste-wise. But I wanted to see its true color.
It truly does (quickly) give off a striking blue color with a violet tinge. It turns completely purple when lemon juice is added. But the taste by itself is nothing more than warm spinach water. Even the flowers smell like spinach.
I'll try these flowers again with other herbs soon but for now it's palatable. And plus, the tea has many health benefits such as cancer-fighting antioxidants and it promotes hair growth! Read about it here: Butterfly Pea Flower (Blue Tea): Benefits and Side Effects (healthline.com)

The Daily Tea #10
Dandelion Root Tea
Tumblr media
My favorite herb/flower/weed, call it what you will. I adore dandelion root tea.
When I need a good cleanse or a bitter coffee-ish taste without the caffeine, I reach for roasted dandelion root tea.
Dandelion cleanses the liver and kidneys, flushing everything out. They're also called piss-a-beds for this reason. They're a diuretic (increases urine flow).
I always make sure I have some form of dandelion on hand (roasted, leaf or root, raw herb, or tea bags).
I highly suggest roasting the root yourself in your oven - your whole house will have a delightful chocolatey smell to it.
This plant has so many vitamins and health benefits to it. The fact that homeowners and gardeners rip this plant out is the biggest bit of proof that we are so disconnected from nature, it's insane.
I could go on all day about dandelions, but see for yourself. You can also eat the plants raw (every single bit is edible just obviously make sure it hasn't been sprayed with pesticides).

The Daily Tea #9
Dunkin Donuts Iced Green Tea with a Blueberry Flavor Shot
Tumblr media
Not much to say about this. I like it.
It's a good light and refreshing green tea without the earthy aftertaste. I'd grab this if I was on the go and needed a slight pick me up on a hot day.
You barely taste the blueberry shot but I think it's what hides the aftertaste.
Do not compare this at all the Dunkin peach passionfruit refresher cuz it has nowhere near as much flavor.
Get this if you want a light iced daily tea with a slight energy boost and a ton of antioxidants.

The Daily Tea #8
Bigelow's Chocolate & Almond
Tumblr media
I have never had a chocolate-tasting tea before, and I absolutely love it! Now don't expect it to taste like a melted Hershey bar or Lindt chocolate truffle in your mouth. It's not the same but you do definitely get some chocolate taste in there, as well as a distinct almond aftertaste.
What I found to be interesting is that the back of the tea bag said, for a good mood everyday. Now at first I thought it was because it was a chocolate-flavored tea and wondered how you could be in a bad mood if you had chocolate.... But there's an interesting ingredient to this tea: St. John's Wort.
St. John's Wort is an herb that helps with anxiety, depression, and mood swings! (always make sure to read your tea ingredients people to see if you have any medications that would be adversely affected!)
This tea also has some bright notes, almost fruity and sweet (I didn't add any sweetener), which gave it a well-rounded taste.
It's definitely a tea I'll keep on the shelf for when I want a chocolatey hot drink without the heaviness of having hot chocolate.
I don't have a link for this one because it is hard to find online. So when you see it, grab it!
