An Unexpected Duet (composer x reader)

Grammar and spelling warning like usual

Fredricks nimble fingers graze across the piano sat in front of him. The light shinning in through the windows bounces off the reflectiveness of it and into the room. Illuminating the space and putting it into a calming atmosphere

It’s a peacefull and quiet afternoon so far. The matches have been finished, and he isn’t inclined on seeking you out right now. No, not at this moment.

He hasn’t touched his piano in so long that he’s almost too scared to play it. Scared that he might’ve forgotten his notes, forgotten how to play it at all.

But every sense of worry and doubt that flooded his mind just seconds ago vanish as soon as he rests his fingers on top of the keys. He starts to play, nothing really. But his mind oughts to wonder, and he starts to think about other things.

Things like you perhaps.

What you seem to not have caught on is the keen interest that the Composer seems to have of you. Over the past months, you have established an amazing friendship with the man that only seems to grow as time moves on. And with it seeming that you have all the time in the world, your friendship should only flourish from there.

That was the plan, until he caught feelings for you.

Falling in love was not part of the plan. Especially in a place chalk full of selfish individuals who only yern to cross the exit gate at the end of the day. To fall in love in a place like this seems crazy and unexpected, yet it happened none the less.

He continues to play, pressing down harder on each key until the originally peaceful melody turns hard and loud. People passing by the room can’t help but look in and see the Composer lost in thought and frustration.

Fredricks too lost in his own mind that he doesn’t even noticed the presence that sits itself down right next to him. Not until they start to play a few keys of their own does his eyes shot open.

“Y/n? I thought you were in a match?”

“I was, until I got sent back to the manor.” You say, looking at the piano keys. “But it seems you have something on your mind. I won’t bug you for answers, just tell me when your ready.”

Your calmness completely changes the mood of the song. Transforming the melody into a soothing lullaby. Your eyes are closed, and you look to be in a deep concentration that only makes Fredrick chuckle softly to himself. Slowly, he turns himself back to his piano. Turning this solo into a duet.

note: I got bored while writing the pt. 2 to the Postman fic so I started to think of this man and I was just like “gosh, I kinda love this man” and decided to write this. It’s kinda shit, but you wouldn’t be reading this if you hadn’t read it yourself soooo… eat up ‼️

Thank you for giving us so many Stewy works, they are very well written and endlessly entertaining. I was just wondering if you had any plans to write more? I check in from time to time on your blog so I was just wondering if you were planning on adding anything else to the fandom.

Thank you so much Nonnie! The main reason why I started writing Stewy fics was because the Stewy Hosseini x reader tag was absolutely starving. It's been nice to contribute to that and I'm doing my best to keep this corner of the fandom well-fed and nourished!

I definitely plan on it! I've posted 5 Stewy fics in the last month and the last few have been on "Succession Sundays". My plan has been to post a fic each week and the Succession Sunday has kind of become my not super public but known Stewy fic post day and I plan to continue with that. I have ideas for fics, I have about 30 ideas in my asks box for Stewy one-shots in and out of the Furtive-Hands universe (all the ones posted at the moment are one-shots that can be read as stand-alone or as connected to Furtive Hands). I also had a lovely Nonnie send in several prompts for a Stewy x anxious Roy reader which I've started a couple of. I picture that as maybe more of a series of drabbles. I'm not too sure if this Succession Sunday will be the first piece of that new fic universe or if it'll be another Furtive Hands-y one.

I'm not too sure if this is what you're asking or saying but I'd love to write and post more Stewy fics. All of the Stewy pieces so far have been about 2-7K words long. They may not be proofread or beta read like some incredible fic writers do but they still take time and tend to be a bit longer (I love world building and exploring emotion/dynamics haha). I work full time, have chronic illnesses (lupus and endo), and try to have a social life so I normally only have part of the weekends for writing time. (If somebody wants to pay/sponsor me to write Stewy fics full-time let me know lol). So because of that all I try to do one fic a week, there might be weeks where there's more fics and some maybe where there isn't any unfortunately but that's life. And because of that all my system with requests isn't the greatest, I tend to be kind of writing a few fics at a time and then I'll end up wanting to write a whole fic in a night or finish just one of them, whichever one inspires/appeals the most to my impulsive brain the most in the moment. So if you've sent in a request and are waiting, I'm so sorry! But it's coming haha, I just can't promise when.

The Seer was know to be intelligent and kind with his own dash of mystery. He was someone who stayed loyal, still wishing for one day to be reunited with his one true love.

But all those thoughts and ideas would come crushing down the second you entered the picture.

He found you in a unused room in the manor, deciding to take a walk one day and stumbled soon it. His curiosity piqued and here he is, talking to someone trapped inside of a mirror.

He thought it was strange at first when his reflection didn’t show. It wasn’t until your upper profile replaced what should have been yours. Eli jumped back a bit at surprise, before letting his curiosity get the best of him.

He awoken you the second he started to speak, and it was as if it was love at first sight. (lol) You two immediately started conversation, with him asking you a bunch of questions. Like how long were you in there, how old you were, what’s your name, etc.

You asked him many questions as well. As to what year it was, what was this place, and his name.

You two became fairly aquatinted. And when your friendship continued to blossom, it wasn’t long until he was racing to his room as soon as his match finished just to speak to you.

Many would ask what the Seer was up to, why he would get terror shocked at the start do the match, why he would continue to lose despite his winning streak. He would just say he had more important matters to attend to, not ever daring to speak your name.

“No one else deserves to know of you my love, no one would treat you as kindly as I do. Everyone in this manor is harsh and cruel. Seeking unjust for those other then themselves.”

Eli would most certainly take the advantage of the fact that you don’t know how long it’s been. He would corrupt your mind, tell you false truths and never once mention others to you. All you need is him and him alone, right?

“Eli, my dear, I have something to propose to you.” You say, uncertainty seeping through your words.

“I know you’ve told me of the cruelty of the Survivors and Hunters of the manor, but I’ve been locked away in here for so long. I was thinking, maybe if you smashed my mirror hard enough, I may be able to break free.”

You spoke to him, as you did all those times before. But all he could do was look in disgust, how could you ever wish to be free? Not when he treats you so nicely, no. That just won’t do.

“My love, how could you ask of such a thing? Don’t you know what I’ve told you? These peo-things are terrible! You wouldn’t survive a day here let alone a year! And, my dearest, what if you don’t escape? What if you disappear? What if I can never find you again? What would happen to me? I’d lose myself to madness all over again! I love you my dear, but I’m afraid I can’t have you doing that. Don’t leave this mirror, don’t leave me.”

You shouldn’t have let him find you.

So take your breath, for it may be your last.
