#ugh. the fucking struggle of a thing i will not talk about. its just an off shoot of one of my many #obessive compulsive tendencies. it just makes me think of my dad. like hes also a fucking anxious person but hes like. i have the thoughts #but then i dont let them control me so its not an issue. and he knos i get caught up on the structure and identification of problems so #hes always like. its only an issue if its like ruining ur life. and hes right and i definitely meet the standards of both of those things #bc im fucking thinking abt these things constantly. its in my head literally all the time. every second of the day #and i mean i guess this specific thing isnt ruining my life but it certainly isnt helpful and in combo with everything else my quality of #life is not what it could b. idk it just feels all empty which is y i became a fucking workaholic #bc i just get so fucking bored stuck in these stupid patterns that at least i can make myseld useful as i drive myself nuts #it also doesnt help that im still trying to unfuck my leg and not being very successful bc theres this fucking voice in my head like #keep moving. u cant sit down. walk around. dont stop. dont stop. dont stop. i can feel the muscles getting irritated again #its unbearable bc it doesn't really even hurt. i just kno im fucking it up for myself and i have all this excess energy that i cant get rid #of bc i cant run. anyway its just irritating #i probably triggered myself by watching the bear all day lol. its so good but it reminds me of working in a shitty banquet hall when my #brain was on fire. and theyve got that toxic workahoism that i so desperately cling to. and in a weird way i can relate tho their fucked #up mom when everyones just trying to help but shes so fixated on this thing that's clearly causing her distress but shes just screaming at #them. like i mean i have insight into my issues and i try not to let them affect anyone but me but its so hard when its like. i have to do #this thing. i have to do it. i kno its bad. i kno its fucked up but shut the fuck up and let me do this. u dont fucking understand #but i wouldn't say that bc i kno its irrational. ugh. i also have to go to a lab dinner tomorrow. maybe #no time has been listed so idk. its for my leaving so im technically the focus. hate that for me. whatever. itll b fine #at least the place is within walking distance and its like less than 3 weeks until i leave #unrelated

-You and Mike met in 1983 when you were 15. Mike was smart in the things you werent, So you two made a deal that you could copy off of him . One day when you were walking down the halls you saw the meanest boy in school Trying to bully mike and it pissed you off.

-You pulled the boy off of mike and punched him with no hesitation, Mike was so sure there were hearts in his vision. You were brave and fearless, But you were also gentle and caring when you offered help if he was hurt, He wasnt but He had never wished he was more than on that day.

-Thats when you two started becoming close. At first it was small talk or friendly banter but it slowly turned into never being seen anywhere without each other.

- One lucky day in december of senior year he decided to tell you how he felt in the garden you had showed him. Mike was never romantic, He didnt know what to do or say, So he did whatever guys did in the movies he’d seen. He handpicked you some beautiful pink flowers and wrote you a cute but short letter and handed it to you.

-You accepted his feelings and looked at those puppy dog eyes that crinkled as he smiled.

-Mike is very loyal. He has your initial around his neck and he talks about you almost all the time. (Abby tells you all about it) He has even gotten into a few fights for you, He always defends you even if you aren’t there.

-As mike got older, He starting learning the old way of love. He opens all doors for you, The occasional flowers and cute poems he writes for you, the sidewalk rule, He really knows how to treat his lady.

-Mikes Love Language is definitely quality time. Youre the love of his life and he wants to be with you always! There are alot of times where mike doesnt know what to say or show you how much he loves you. But you know he does by the way he follows and takes you everywhere. How he offers to spend time with you when he gets off of that strange nighshift where he works, Even if it means he gets no sleep.

-Mike is a family man. He loves his little sister and you love her too. You and Abby have a bond that was fun and ‘girly’, in mikes words. (Mike wears bracelets you and abby make for him) When Mike opened up to you about his brother and his parents one day, You just put your head on his shoulder, letting him talk and not mentioning how his voice would wobble and crack every once an awhile.

-Mike struggles with his emotions and mental health. When he feels like its getting bad, He tends to distance himself but you reassure him you are there for him no matter what. You hold mike whether hes crying or not and whisper sweet words into his short curly hair.

-Mike is very jealous and protective. He tries to not to show it but its obvious. His arm slinged over your shoulder everywhere, Making sure everyone knew you were his. Even when you talked to people, He subconsciously glared at the people taking your attention away from him. Mike eyes, that could be so welcoming, were cold.

-Mike loves the date nights you plan for the two of you. Whether it was going out or staying in, He loves being in your presence.

-Mikes favorite part of everyday is at night when you two would cuddle while talking about your future together. He wants to spend the rest of his life with you and hes thrilled someone like you wants that with him too.

▸ He starts to avoid you. Like, you cannot find him on the polar tang type of avoiding. He's afraid to put you in serious danger, he's wanted by the world covernment, has billions of beri on his head- he couldn't stand to put you in more danger.

▸ Law SAYS he is perfectly content with holding these feelings in until he dies. He is lying. At some point his frustration comes to a head and he just , corners you in the sub after not speaking to you for THREE WEEKS and word vomits all his emotions out while looking like a tomato.

▸ If you accept law is . surprisingly elated. This commitment doesn't feel heavy or scary like he imagined. He's not the biggest fan of PDA but he ABSOLUTELY links pinkies with you when walking around. (bepo, shaichi, and penguin are yall's biggest fans ever. they SO hide in the bushes during the first date and get discovered 😭)

▸ If you reject law .. he'll retreat back into his shell. He was open with you, and now he probably wont be. ever again. Really awkward interactions ensue.

▸ HE TRIES SO HARD TO IMPRESS YOU!!! He's smashing someone's face in extra flashily when you look his way. Carrying super heavy objects when youre in his vicinity. showing you all his latest inventions. He's almost like a really aggressive, abrasive puppy waiting on you to praise him.

▸ He probably blurts out all of his feelings when you sit just a little too close after one too many beers. He's raging at you for "making my head all spinny" and "making me feel like im gonna vomit glitter" while Heat and Wire are cackling in the background. Killer has his head in his hands while Kidd continues his drunken rant.

▸ If you somehow manage to wrangle him back to the ship and accept his confession, you will have a clingy, kissy kidd to deal with. He will not let you go. Your post-confession gift is a cranky, hungover kidd.

▸ If you reject him ... Kidd practically explodes. Not at you, but everyone who pisses him off is getting chewed out 10x as bad. He's hurt, and he needs time to tend his wounds. Your friendship will never be the same, but he won't make your life a living hell.

▸ Luffy is straightforward, honest, and determined. If he likes you, he'll say it loud and clear. He doesn't exactly know the line between romantic and platonic feelings, so it'll take someone like robin or sanji to clear that up for him.

▸ He is also very physically affectionate. Where you go, luffy goes. You have to practically beg to go to the bathroom alone. Skinny, Tall, Short, Chubby; luffy loves it all! He gomu-gomu no cuddles you constantly.

▸ He doesn't really get jealous. He trusts you! And he knows youre great, so obviously everyone would want to spend time with you! Just make sure he's in your top priorities.

▸ Luffy's confession is in everything he does. He never steals from your plate unless he's given permission, always makes sure you get the best cuts of meat / best quality veggies. He may just suddenly hold you and kiss you if hes in the mood. Luffy is probably on the aro/ace spectrum, so your relationship may be on the platonic spectrum some days + the romantic spectrum some days.

Its giving villain in a turning chair menacingly stroking a cat while giving an order to a nervous henchmen to inconvenience the heroes.

You could try yelling at him and only quieting down when he pets you or lets you onto is lap

But, depending on his mood, he might just kick you out of his office

Would assign some poor Fatui henchman to take care of you so you have a constant guardian even if the other harbingers arent there.

Its got a box of toys, the softest bed money can buy, the most elaborate cat tree imaginable like wtf man, one of them self cleaning litter boxes, a water fountain, and an automatic feeder.

The feeder is on a schedule but that doesnt really matter because Pantalone will give you treats anyways.

He even gives you your own allowance from the fatui treasury.

He gives you one of those cat collars with the little bell.

Arlecchino

You could hint to her that you want to go to the orphanage.

Everytime someone mentions it, give a little chirp and stare at her intently.

She’ll probably get the idea and set aside a week or so for you go to the orphanage to play with the kids.

They’re all very gentle with you and like to call you a mini snow leopard.

Arlecchino thinks its kinda cute but she wont say it.

if dabi doesnt necessarily care about the abuse or even endeavor being a bad person then would he be a simply selfish and empty character with no "redeeming qualities"? i guess it is interesting that view but it also makes it kinda hard to care about his character

He actually does care about the abuse. I remember I think, @ seabhactine on twitter once mentioning that phrase "bullying wasn't enough" was mistranslated, I think, and it more referred to the actual abuse, so that one panel with Dabi's reaction to the News Conference was more him laughing that the "exposure of the abuse wasn't enough to tank his dad's career". BUT He's also mentally unwell and has the emotional range of a cup filled with oil and vinegar. In that in some ways his feelings/thoughts are dissonant or even opposing, as so often happens in the damaged and traumatized brains of abuse survivors.

That's why he goes on Shouto as if he's jealous and pissed off that the physical abuse didn't result in a "better legacy/produced someone half-baked". Intellectually you can know something is wrong but your feelings can also conflict. He knows there was abuse, knows it was wrong, but also literally cannot feel bad for Shouto for going through it. I know I say this about Hawks all the time when you try to make sense of him, but it applies to Dabi - "crazy" is not just a random adjective. Trauma of the sort deeply abused children go to actually shows up as brain damage. You have to read Dabi with the understanding that he's not going to be "rational" and cohesive.

Lastly, redeeming qualities as a term is very subjective. It's very much based on what someone likes. And Dabi being messed up, conflicting in his own ideals/wants/beliefs does not make him empty, but actually makes him a very compelling, richly characterized sort of character. It makes him interesting which should be the only redeeming quality a character ought to have (my opinion).

I dont think Chenle is going to be very vocal about his feelings for you but instead he'll show it in little acts of service. You craved some fruits once in your relationship? Now your house is always stocked up with your favourite fruits.

You're too tired from work? He'll be at your house even before you reach and brings your favourite takeout so you can eat with him and go to sleep.

If you're arguing he won't apologise but would still do small things to show he cares. If he's drinking water and you're next to him, he'd not look your way and hand you the bottle so you can drink too. You are dozing off watching youtube, he'd snatch your phone, put it on charge and tuck you in the blanket before he grumbles how annoying you are and pecks your forehead.

GIFT GIVING: CHENLE, Yangyang

We all knew Chenle would be here. I've written more about Gift Giving on my 'NCT Dream as bfs who give their gf princess treatment fic' (hehe promo)

I'll say it again tho. He's the type to make you kiss all over his face before handing you his card and telling you to go all out.

He'd spoil you with expensive gifts even if you tell him not too.

Everyone has a hyperfixation, whether you hoard electronics, plushies, stickers, toys, stationery or whatever- hes supportive, buys you any new product in the market he thinks you'll find cool. Also the type to secretly keep track of your amazon wishlist, to buy you the things you like.

Yangyang will be more on the handmade gifts or small gifts type. Like things that aren't fancy but significant.

Like earrings/rings/jewellery you eyed in the mall when you were walking together. Guess what he's giving you on your anniversary.

A book your friend recommended to you which you asked to borrow when theyre done, he'll get it for you. Will also read your annotations and smile to himself, glad he gets to read the books that have a hint of you in it.

Another one to support your hyperfixations. He finds them cute.

PHYSICAL TOUCH: Yangyang, Chenle?

I have a feeling Yangyang is the clingy annoying types. Like y'all hang out together a lot in silence but after a while he'll get bored and decide to annoy you. Especially if you're the type to like your personal space, guess what- he also likes your personal space, he'll be all up in it.

Will sit on you, bite your cheek randomly, lick you for no reason (ew), tug your hair to annoy you, tickle you etc. His way of showing you love

Chenle at first will be a bit distant but slowly and gradually as he gets more comfortable he's going to get so clingy. But he'll be moody about it. He always wants to share a blanket, he'd share a pillow with you if you'd let him but as soon as you start to wake him up or try to pull the blanket to yourself at night when he steals it HE'LL GLARE AT YOU SO BAD. He's scary. The next morning apologises for being mean if you're sulking about it. Allows you to get a separate blanket for yourself so he doesnt repeat this. (He can't control it he was sleepy :/ )

QUALITY TIME: YANGYANG, Chenle

They both love to spend time with you. They find it very intimate when you are comfortable with eachother enough to sit in silence without feeling the need to talk. They LOVE when you're alone together spending time and you can tell what the other wants by their eyes alone. I'll elaborate;

If you're having a fight with your friend on text and you sigh and keep your phone down, they'll already leave everything they have and open their arms to you so you can bury your face in their chest and just relax. They'll hold you and stroke your hair. Only when you look up and smile at them softly they'll let you go and then ask you to talk about it. Cute.

WORDS OF AFFIRMATION: I'M SORRY NONE. a little Yangyang tho once hes comfortable with you. He'll say constant i love yous, tell you you're pretty, stuff like that. I cant see them saying much cheesy stuff so I'll keep this short.

i’m going to have to be honest, i don’t think today’s episode was very good.

of course, there were bits i loved as is with every malevolent episode, like jarthur saying each other’s names like that and arthur styling his hair after clark gable and john remembering, john literally acting like trying to kill oscar was nbd :), it was all very endearing.

but man. some of the other stuff threw me off so bad. there were NO STAKES, any sense of urgency created was immediately destroyed by jarthur literally talking their feelings out. one second is literally jumping on walls like a rabid dog, the next he’s calmly communicating with john and then he’s acting superior and calling him a child.

like, we’ve seen what triggers arthur’s erratic behaviour (usually a distinct lack of john) and how he acts when he’s like that, and sorry but just don’t think this was a case of that.

furthermore, arthur calling john was weird. not in the oh no! is john is canonically a child so you cant ship him with anyone because fuck that, that was not the implication, but in the sense that i think it was incredibly ooc of arthur to say that. like, he recognised that yellow was Like That because he was awful to him, not because he was a child. so why is he saying this to john? he says john can’t handle his emotions, which yeah because he can only talk to you which john makes very clear. arthur says its unfair for john to expect that he never speak to anyone again, but that’s not even what john asked. he doesnt want to be ignored and rather be included, which is a totally reasonable thing to ask for! he even says to arthur when he’s going off the rails that he’s used to being ignored by arthur by now and i don’t think this is another manipulation tactic.

seems like both of them forgot the main goal of the show: separating john from arthur without the king taking him back.

the friendship breakup with oscar at the end was ridiculously tacked on and in my opinion shouldve been the beginning of the next episode. but no, obviously that couldn’t have been done since the next episode is the season finale.

which brings me to my next qualm: this is a terrible penultimate episode. penultimate episodes are supposed to raise the stakes higher than theyve been the whole season so the finale is literally unhinged. and malevolent has been excellent at doing that (see: part 27 the roots). But all this episode does is nullify the stakes, we’re not looking forward to anything next episode. John and arthur are in their healing era (there was no divorce this season let’s be real), theyve left oscar, the stone is gone, the butcher is in police custody and daniel is fine.

so how is the season supposed to end with them (presumably) in the dark world? around a year ago, harlan said dark world arc soon. when is soon.

the lack of stakes in s4 has been a persistent problem for me i think, most conflict has been resolved either within the episode or soon after, especially jarthur relationship problems, which are like the core of the show

don’t get me wrong, i’m not saying i dislike s4, i love it, especially the first half, i think part 31 is the best malevolent episode to date. it’s just that with how well written it’s been, i was taken aback by this one just being…. ok?

i think that because every malevolent episode is such a banger, this one kind of being all over the place, especially with arthur’s characterisation, is kinda disappointing? ofc, ik basically all of harlan’s fam and himself were sick during november + they had a whole baby, so i’m hoping the shift in quality was a circumstancial thing.

Fic idea for an hcom/ love/enemy triangle

similar idea to other fic but different and less fluff more drama. in the aj era.

Since its canon (i think??) phoenix refused to get any help from edgeworth when he got disbarred, i wanna expand on that idea in a relationship/love triangle way.

When phoenix gets disbarred he's intially offered support from edgeworth (even though he's still in europe) but he denies it out of pride. Even though phoenix says he doesnt need help, edgeworth has a feeling he's lying to get him to leave phoenix alone and decides to preemptively go back and see him in person. In a plot-twist-twist, phoenix is tipped off to edgeworth's suprise visit, and leaves the office before he gets there (still out of pride and believing somehow if edgeworth saw him he'd hate him for some reason) and somehow ends up staying with kristoph. Edgeworth finds the office empty and since he's persistent (in a yaoi way) he continues to look for phoenix.

Meanwhile phoenix is hiding from him at kris's house and they sort of have a thing but its kind of like a toxic old man yaoi type thing (they are terrible for each other). Kristoph is really nice to phoenix but really he's just manipulating him

and eventually Edgeworth finds out where phoenix is and goes there knowing it's kristoph but never having seen him in person before and when he gets there kris refuses to let him in like "yea no he's mine now he doesnt want to see you" with a smug little bitch attitude and while edgeworth gets the vibe he's totally lying, he's still hurt at the thought of it. He tells phoenix about it and tries to gaslight him into thinking he actually hates edgeworth (for real) and that he is WAY better for phoenix anyway. Edgeworth keeps thinking maybe phoenix really DOES hate him and that maybe he should move on since phoenix has seemingly moved on already.

Little do they both know theyre both completely incorrect about eachothers' assumptions because phoenix thinks edgeworth is chasing him to humiliate him and edgeworth thinks phoenix is running away because he hates him (for some reason) but really theyre both doing what theyre doing because they love each other. Phoenix trying to spare Edgeworth's feelings by not tarnishing his image of him by seeing him disbarred and Edgeworth not caring about that at all and just genuinely wanting to help/take care of him.

Eventually and after talking to someone else about it (maybe maya/franziska/gumshoe) edgeworth finds phoenix out somewhere and before he can run away he stops him to explain everything and they realize they love each other ❤️

typing out my pulsefire AU lore here --- (very heavy on the AU and headcanons oops)

the basic AU plot is mostly about Pulsefire Ezreal and Aphelios time misadventures (the plot is them banding together to try and get access to the back rooms Time Liminal Spaces to save Alune)

Aphelios and his sister Alune were twin time-cyborg-super-soldiers/killers created in collaboration with PF industries to fight off apocalyptic threats. Alune was considered something of a success project with her immense strength (telekinetic/physical) and lethality, Aphelios ended up on the lower end of quality (was slated to be demoted to fodder-level of soldier, and had a "personality wipe" (<- this also ended up botched). At some point, Alune hatched a plan to get them both out of the lab/armory and they both take a bunch of the PF weaponry during their escape (aka Alune just busted them out of there with brute strength). on the run from their escape, Alune attempts time traveling to locate a timeline/world/universe where they can't be easily followed so that she and her brother can peacefully live. however, she ended up in a liminal time space Thing and got stuck, leaving Aphelios all alone (which isn't Great, he's relied on her guidance his whole life)

... so he ends up timehopping around looking for someone who can help, maybe even one of these trouble making time explorers who know their way around time space AND the law and wouldnt mind helping a runaway guy. especially since he doesnt really. have funds to hire someone so he's kinda looking for someone ballsy and thrill seeking enough to help him out. (probably in exchange for his own combat capabilities. or hell, all the fancy equipment he could trade with)

he runs into Ezreal, a pretty infamous time explorer guy (he's caused a shitton of paradoxes and time-fuckery and is wanted by MANY people). and.. while Ezreal is up for pretty much Anything, the liminal time spaces is like the one (1) place he'd never go near bc nobody ever really survives going there. no point in going somewhere where you might not ever get out of without any form of reward, right. (Aphelios eveeeentually somewhat persuades him to help, at the very least to try and research/find/seek out a way to help his sister out. He's surprisingly persistent.)

and for Ezreal's lore, he used to be the kid of some tech ceo (or just tech guys) and his parents had high expectations of him becoming a researcher/STEM guy as well, but Ezreal caved into the pressure, ended up performing poorly in classes and started hard-slacking off until he was disowned. he ended up taking up some "experimental surgery" at one of the PF labs to become heavily augmented by technology, thinking if he couldn't make it as an academic, he could still find some useful way to contribute to society. except uhh. there WAS a (bad!) reason the surgery was kept under wraps and not made public... at some point or another, there's a raid at the specific lab he was staying at, most of the facility ends up destroyed in the chaos. armed with a ton of time traveling/warping tech, he saw it as a sign to say fuck it, and left the reality to explore time space and get into all sorts of nonsense, throwing caution into the wind. (And eventually runs into Aphelios...)

One of their first encounters happens to be while they're running from the timecops and Aphelios saves Ezreal's life, which does make the explorer feel indebted to him...

(a lot of the AU revolves around the theme of humanity, since Ezreal struggles with it a lot as he had a lot of his body replaced by cybernetics and technology and it's something of a body horror kinda situation to him, and Aphelios is (while he does have some augments and stuff as well) more so along the lines of like. Figuring out how to be human when he's always been treated as a weapon and tool his whole life. Both guys are woefully self sacrificial since they don't see themselves as like. human enough to have their lives have value, but throughout the misadventures they kinda come to realize bc they care about each other and other people they meet, maybe they ARE deserving of human contact/care/love/etc. :) also epic awesome battle scenes and stuff)

ok this got kinda long sorry LOL i have some thoughts on how itd work

so, i think instead of creek deliberately antagonising branch bc he gets some sick kick out of it, its creek trying (and failing) to worm his way back into the snack pack, and more importantly into poppys life. poppy would struggle with wanting to grab him and shake him and throw him off a cliff AND wanting to set a good example to her kingdom, to follow the mantra of "no troll left behind". in public she has to put on a brave face, and pretend like she actually tolerates, maybe even LIKES creek, but if theyre alone (or just with branch. branch still hates creek hes just not the focus) poppy actually lets him have it

since creek episodes would focus on poppy instead of branch, more of the snack pack actually get involved with the creek situation. they are treated as actual characters, and most of them dont like creek either but ALSO have to pretend to tolerate him: it wouldnt look very good if the queens friends dont follow her lead, right? creek becomes the one guy of the friend group that no one actually likes. obviously he wouldnt be an ACTUAL member of the snack pack and he still wouldnt be used nearly as often as guy diamond and smidge, but he still ends up "part of the gang" several times, and its made VERY obvious that they cant stand him. creek probably notices, and then we get some of that delicious twerpitude he shows with branch where he gets all touchy and mocking because he knows they cant do anything about it

creek week would be about poppy struggling to figure out how to deal with creek. her dad always said "no troll left behind", and even though creek wanted to leave EVERY troll behind, poppy cant deny that he is still a troll. she lets him back in the village, but says she will keep a very close eye on him. he says oh hes sure she will, she always used to when she thought he wouldnt notice 😉. poppy shudders. the rest of the episode is poppy watching, and hating, how creek reintegrated into the village. since the snack pack are the only ones who really know how creek acted, other trolls find it much easier to forgive him: theyre sure he really DID feel like he had no choice! its not like he looked super smug while telling them or anything! maybe branch also suggests the waterfall test (still using himself as bait), and poppy is desperate enough to go through with it, except instead of being cast out from the snack pack (they would not be present in the scene) poppy instead sees creek look all sad and pathetic. and she knows she shouldnt, but she feels bad. hes still a troll. she says hes sorry, and he says he forgives her because thats what friends do, then reaches out for a hug. branch shakes his head. poppy hugs him. the camera focuses on poppy, looking torn and uncomfortable, then on creek, looking smug, then on branch, who pinches the bridge of his nose and groans. episode ends.

haircuffed, this might be controversial but i think its peppy who ties them together. he thinks they used to be so inseparable, and whatever lovers spat (poppy tells him thats not what this is. he laughs it off) theyve got going on can just be solved by spending some quality time together. poppy is horrified, and says dad, no, you dont understand, its a difficult situation! creek is unbothered, but he says hes looking forward to spending a loooot of time with poppy. hes really wanted to catch up :). throughout the episode, creek acts exactly like he did when they were dating (ie, manipulative and controlling with a pretty icing coating), and poppy cant believe she ever saw anything in him. poppy would still pretend to get along with creek, just like branch did in the actual episode, but instead of them both agreeing to "act so close that it creeps poppy out into releasing them", poppy doesnt make any plan with creek. she just pretends that she actually forgave him, that theyre actually close, until peppy decides theyve buried the hatchet and releases them. branch, who had spent the whole episode brainstorming ways to reverse the haircuffs (explaining his absence), arrives with a chainsaw (the same one creek pulled out) and chases creek into the distance. peppy asks if shes gonna stop branch from attacking her friend. and she says no, dad, i hate that guy. ill fill you in.

the fast and the friendliest, instead of it being mentor vs mentor, poppy just doesnt want creek mentoring ANY of the children. shes seen what hes capable of! he has an utter disregard for anyone elses safety! and creek says "wow, poppy... i thought you really believed i changed... i guess you dont trust me afterall..." and otherwise lays it on really thick, until poppy gives in and says he can mentor priscilla, since shes the smartest and could probably tell if hes about to endanger her. throughout the episode, poppy sees creek work with priscilla and, wow, hes actually being very responsible! and priscilla seems like shes having a good time! maybe... maybe he really HAS changed. maybe he IS trustworthy! then, on the day of the event, creek finds out that branch is one of the other mentors. he didnt know, since he was so focused on poppy, but he still wants to show up his "competition" of course. he tells priscilla he has absolutely no doubts about her ability to win, but... just to make sure theres no chance she gets even close to second place, he attaches a booster bug to priscillas flyer bug. then it happens exactly how it does in canon, with priscillas flyer bug malfunctioning. branch and keith save priscilla, and even though theyre both tied for last place they look like they had fun. priscilla thanks creek for mentoring her, even if she ddnt win. creek loses his temper a bit, and says the only reason he volunteered in the first place was so his pupil could WIN! he wanted to prove he could be a GOOD mentor! he wanted to impress POPPY! he didnt care about this childrens event, he didnt care about PRISCILLA! priscilla starts crying, and poppy is pissed. she says this was supposed to be a fun event for the kids, and she thought he really wanted priscilla to enjoy herself. she thought he really changed. she thought he was trustworthy. she leaves, followed by branch (who sticks out his tongue) and keith (ditto). creek looks sad and pathetic. priscilla has calmed down a bit, and now shes with her parents, who say something about pursuing legal action against creek for the child endangerment. someone throws a tomato at him.

unsure about how bad luck branch could work with this new dynamic since... it is very specifically about branch. maybe instead of biggie being his partner, poppy is (and biggie is the presenter)? and creek talks about how branch is Clearly ruining everything for poppy, really love i dont know what you see in this jinxed troll. and poppys angry, because that is HER boyfriend youre talking about! poppy is the one who gets fixated on clearing branchs bad luck, but by the end of the episode she realises that SHE was the one causing the "bad luck" by getting in her own head and stressing branch out. she says shes sorry, and branch forgives her because theyre "best friends", and they agree to try their best for the rest of the event no matter what happens. the ending is exactly like in canon, with creek ending up eating shit and losing the game for himself and aspen. sorry aspen!
