one thing that really pisses me off is when privileged people make excuses for cruelty. no, it is not in fact a good thing that the government is making a credible attempt at killing poor people and saying it's in the name of balancing the budget, while simultaneously giving tax cuts to the rich, and you do not get to say that when you're either unaffected or getting money out of it.
or rather, you can do as you want. but if you refuse to acknowledge the humanity of those who are worse off than you, well, they might just return the favour. and then someday you will find yourself terribly outnumbered.
