Listening to malevolent after the magnus archives is an experience. I listened to tma to fall asleep with Jonathan Sims calming voice speaking of unimaginable horrors. In malevolent everybody is screaming all the time.

For @trustypaladin ! they're watching Ride Him, Cowboy, which apparently was HORRIBLY received at the time (the scene with the horse is 100% real)

this is one of the top kayne moments ever to me because i feel like it provides a weirdly genuine insight into his personality. he is angry; he's angry that arthur thought that'd work on him. he's angry about being underestimated. it's a side of him we don't really see in any other scene. he's upset by the implication that he might fall for something like that, and he needs arthur to explicitly know that he won't.

I keep imagining new fans learning about Malevolent through the silly joke art of John and Arthur at a movie theater or baking a cake, but then they listen to the thing and it's 48 minutes of body horror noises and also the funny British guy just ate someone

Kayne really looked at John and went hmm no killing you isn't enough I need to watch Arthur's love slowly turn into resentment
