Until I Found You
Pairing: Julieta Madrigal x Reader
Summary: you thought you were too broken to ever fall in love after a fall out with your previous boyfriend, until you found her
Warning: fight scene between the reader and her ex boyfriend, probably butchered Spanish curse words, implied domestic abuse (only physical!)
A/N: welp! Here’s my attempt to try a new character as I try to figure out a part for my Royal!Natasha Romanoff story HAHAHA
In this story, only Pepa’s the married one but they don’t have kids yet while Julieta’s single since i didn’t wanna kill of or divorce her and Agustin 🥲 so they’re around their middle to almost late 20s here while the reader’s in their early 20s! This is my first attempt to writing a juli x reader story so hopefully you guys like this one!!
Tumblr media
When you were younger, you always imagined having a life where you’d meet some guy within the Encanto who’d love and treasure you. Then after the woo-ing stage, you’d both fall madly in love then he’d marry you and have two kids, maybe even three where they’d be the bestest of friends and just live happily ever after. You genuinely thought everyone was going to have that kind of lifestyle, as if it was a blueprint that everyone has to go through. Sadly though, life isn’t as fair as you thought when you met him.
It felt like yesterday when you saw Miguel, your once beloved, for the first time across the town square as he builds wooden furniture for the Encanto. It was love at first sight as cheesy as it sounds, he even almost hammered this thumb instead of the nail at how out-of-it he was when he first saw you. He would accompany you to the town square to buy new books to add into your collection, and dance the night away with you during the Madrigal’s famous parties they’d throw from time to time at the Casita. The bond you two formed had grown so strong and beautiful that you were engaged after a few months of dating, and everyone in the town were rooting for the both of you. Until one day, some people started to notice your change.
“Y/N? Sweetheart you okay?” Señorita Guzman asks worriedly as she sees you jump in shock from the sudden attention of the older woman. You turn around to meet her worried eyes, smiling softly as you rub the back of your neck shyly at being caught.
“Hola, Señora my apologies” you shyly say as you hold onto the book you were reading. You’re currently in a darling little bookshop she opened a few months prior and you’ve been going to it ever since. “I did have intentions of buying it, just wanted to see the first page-“
“Mija please it’s alrigh-“ she cuts you off with a chuckle as she places her hand on your shoulder in a comforting way, but looks at you worriedly–albeit strangely as well, as you flinch a little. “Y/N? Are y-“
“My apologies, Señora” you cut her off as you reach into your pocket to grab your wallet, pulling out a few bills and handing it to her. “This should cover the book, muchas gracias!”
You leave before she could say anything, your heart hammering against your chest as you try to calm down. She didn’t find out, which is the best outcome from that exchange so you shouldn’t be worried from her ever finding out.. right?
You genuinely thought that way for a while, you tried to hide and cover up the fights you and Miguel have been having the moment you started living with him. He was a gentle and sweet lover, but changed when you started out as newly weds. He thought it would be a good idea to give have you live with him so you wouldn’t have to worry about buying a new home, save on expenses and such was his explanation. You thought yea why not? But apparently you were completely wrong as it was became hell really quick because of the abuse that started to occur on a daily basis.
It started out as small as shouting whenever you’d forget to buy his beer or misplacing his sombrero where you’d jump from the tone of his voice, before escalating to slamming his hand or fist onto the table or wall when he gets frustrated from work or from your short comings. You knew better, of course. You knew somewhere in your mind, the more rational side of your brain, that you should have run away as far as you could and away from the man. Sadly, you’re the kind of person who’d think with your heart so as a result, you ended up staying.
Tumblr media
“Y/N! Tu hijo de puta (you son of a bitch), where did you put my hammer?” You hear him yell out from his workshop, tensing up the moment you hear the slamming of the shed door and his heavy boots walking up to the back of the house which leads to the kitchen.
You were cooking up some lunch for the both of you before he went to the shed to work on some furniture for a family before he started to yell. You were about to make a run for it honestly. Though sadly you were too late the moment his big and strong hands, the same hands you initially fell in love watching craft beautiful chairs with, grab onto your already bruised arm to turn you around to meet his eyes filled with burning rage. You knew in this moment how screwed you are, regardless how innocent you are.
“So? Where is it?” He asks with a raise of an eyebrow as you struggle to speak up from fear. “Come on, answer me!”
“I-I have n-n-no idea what you’re ta-talking about” you wince at how badly you’re stuttering, but whimper in pain as he starts to grip harder onto the bruise on your arm. “Miguel that really hurts! Please let go!”
“I really need my hammer sweetheart so I could have a livelihood, we gotta keep up with our expenses you know” he says, blatantly ignoring you as he sighs in frustration. “Come on, use your estúpido (stupid) little brain”
“Miguel I really-“ you gasp out in agonizing pain as he grips farther, his years of woodwork really shining through as the pain jolts through your entire being.
He let go, shoving your arm away from him but the sheer force of his throw caused you to fall down to the ground as you wince in pain from the fall. He started to go on and on about how stupid it is that his life went to shit the moment you moved in with him, how his stuff started to get misplaced because of it and how its making his life so hard. It all happened while you sat there, silently crying and praying that this would all end
You knew you should have left the moment the red flags started to wave but you were in love, thought that maybe its just a rough patch and he’d be back to his normal and loving self again. Sadly, it never happened and you only managed to escape his wrath when a neighbor of yours came forward to Abuela Alma. She heard what was happening after a rather nasty fall out and told the town elder everything.
After telling her what she heard, and how she would have mentioned something earlier but couldn’t because she was worried about being involved and the possibility of it being a normal lovers quarrel. The older woman basically marched down to your shared home with her children who confronted the man and threatened him to leave or else he’d suffer great consequences. He was banished from the Encanto and you finally escaped his wrath, free from the abuse and all.
The Madrigals were your heroes, but what really struck you was the oldest triplet who’d heal your physical and unexpectedly emotional wounds in the process. With everything that happened, they offered you a room to stay for the mean time as you had to sell your place for the marriage. Knowing you really didn’t have a choice or else you’d be homeless, you took the offer and have been staying with them ever since.
Tumblr media
It’s been a few months since your half a year relationship with Miguel and you’re slowly healing. You started to become your old self again, which is great because things started to finally fall into place for you and the healer. It started off really sweet actually because she’d let you accompany her at the stall in town square, you acted as her nurse as she healed the people in line. You’d read her your books sometimes whenever she’s busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen, the both of you developed a tight bond because of it. As time pass, you got to truly get to know the woman as Julieta and not the town’s healer.
You’re currently reading your book while sitting on the grass, your back against the tree that gives you a shade during the summer heat. You found this secluded little spot a few weeks ago while you were playing with the kids of the town and you just decided to make it your spot for the time being if you wanted some peace and quiet from the Casita.
Though you do love staying with the Madrigal family –they’re the nicest people you’ve ever met– but you’ve been secretly saving up in case you’ve overstayed your welcome. If you told your past self of your predicament, you’d have moved out by the 2 months mark and restart your life, maybe even leave the Encanto as a whole. But unexpectedly, there’s this invisible pull that’s making you stay where you are, it almost feels like its just right for you to stay with them, with Julieta.
Now you may be wondering, you and Julieta? Well you never asked for it. You knew deep in your heart, you have feelings for the woman but you were scared of the idea of letting your heart run free once again as it didn’t end well the last time. You were honestly lost with what you’re feeling with Julieta, is this love or deep rooted friendship? Whenever you two would hang out and your hands would accidentally touch, is that sparks or the nerves? You truly don’t know what’s going on with you, you never felt this way before and you couldn’t help but feel like you’re navigating your feelings blindly, as if you’ve been succumb to darkness of trauma and fears.
You sigh in defeat as you realized you’ve been reading the same sentence over and over again as your mind runs free once more. Giving up, you place the book down to your lap as you lean your head back against the wood bark, enjoying the cool summer breeze while you let your mind wander. What you didn’t expect was for the woman who plagues your thoughts to materialize nearby.
Julieta knew of the existence of your spot as she spotted you here once before since it’s hers also ever since as a child. She just never mentioned anything as she knew you needed it more than she could. She knew the moment you both met after saving you from Miguel that there was an invisible pull between the both of you. You trusted her first before the other Madrigals, hell even Alma thought that it was best for Julieta to stick by you in case something goes wrong and the others aren’t around. It caused the both of you to hang out either to help Julieta make her daily healing food needs or simply stay in each other’s presence while she cooks and you read your books. She remembered the one time it was one of those days where she was cooking and you were reading that made her realize she was in trouble.
Tumblr media
You’re 100000% totally engrossed into your book, like an earthquake couldn’t get your attention at this point and Julieta thought it was the funniest thing ever. She only noticed this when she dropped her rolling pin onto the floor causing a loud bang that made her and even the Casita jump, but you’re just sitting there with the biggest doe eyes she’s seen you in.
She chuckles softly as she picks up the rolling pin, gently placing it on the counter as she mutters a soft apology to the house, placing elbow onto the counter as she rests her chin onto the palm of her hand so she could watch you and see if she could gain your attention. It was the first time she ever paused and truly look at you from the month or so since they saved you, and boy did she wish she either did this sooner or not at all.
You’re absolutely gorgeous, you could have gotten anyone in the Encanto yet you fell for the sad excuse of a man. You’re currently wearing your normal gray dress thats just below your knees, and ankle-height heeled boots that seems to make your legs look longer than it already has. You normally wear black stockings to match but today you decided to forgo it– probably because you wrecked your favorite ones and in need to buy more– and she couldn’t help but trail her eyes up and down your silky smooth legs. What truly got her attention however was your glasses. Now Julieta’s not normally a simp but she’d kill to see you wear your reading glasses as a normal pair of glasses. Your black-round frames accentuates your already natural beauty, making you look so sweet and innocent with the doe eyes you’re holding while reading your newest romance book.
Unconsciously, Julieta sighs dreamily as a smile graces her features. A strand of hair falls onto your face, you absentmindedly tuck it behind your ear without missing a beat and Julieta’s heart just stops in that moment. While she had her fair share of suitors lining up by her door, it was not as much as Pepa who’s truly the one with the largest line–something you’d tease her with by saying she’s the biggest playboy in the Encanto– but she never felt this way before, especially considering you’re a girl.
Now don’t get her wrong, Julieta has had a fling or two with a girl since she wanted to experiment with the idea but it never went as far as a peck on the lips. Her priority had always been to the Encanto, just like her siblings, but there are days where she’d wish to be in a relationship. She’d always watch other girls being really happy with their boyfriends, hell even Pepa and Felix made her really jealous of their relationship at some point at how they’re made for each other. Yet here she is, ogling over a woman she never thought she’d have feelings for.
Before Julieta could do anything else, you suddenly placed your book down with a dreamy sigh making the older woman jump and quickly kneed away at the ball of dough she abandoned moments prior. She clears her throat slightly before speaking up. “Done with your book?”
“Yea” you say happily as you place both of your elbows on top of the book with your chin resting at the palm of your hands. “It’s really good, you can borrow it if you want!”
She chuckles softly at the enthusiasm, ignoring how her heart just skipped a beat when she caught the childish grin you’re currently holding onto. “Maybe one day, you know how busy I get, but when I get the time”
“Really??” You grin happily at the idea, giggling as you already start making a list of books to let Julieta read. While you go on and on about how she should read this certain book because it reminds you of her love for cooking or how that book made you think that she’d really like the premise of it, Julieta’s just watching you with a fond smile before jumping at Casita’s moving tiles as the magical house gained the attention of the magical healer before her arepas started to burn. She knew in that moment that maybe what she’s feeling was something more than friendship, and a sudden weight of dread covers her entire being as she thinks how absolutely screwed she is.
Tumblr media
She smiles softly at the memory as she decides its time to get your attention. She walks up to you, sitting down besides you as you watch her do so. “Hello Y/N”
“Juli” you says softly as you adjust yourself to sit upright. “Done for today?”
“Not so much people today thankfully, so I decided to pass by here before heading home” she says as she watches the ducks in the pond nearby swimming away. “Didn’t know you found this place”
“Yea I just saw it by chance because my hat flew over the bushes. Decided to go take a look and saw this place” you say as you recall the memory, chuckling softly at how amazed you were to see the existence of this small garden basically just hiding away. “It’s absolutely gorgeous, you know”
Julieta hums in agreement as the both of you watch the mother duck bathes her ducklings in the pond who are happily swimming away. The both of you fall into a calm and peaceful silence, just enjoying each other’s company without saying a word. It was honestly the most calm you’ve felt since dating Miguel, the racing thoughts in your mind coming to a stop as you just enjoy the moment.
You couldn’t help but yawn, raising your arms to stretch before resting your head onto Julieta’s shoulder as she gently takes your hand in hers as she rubs the pad of her thumb against your knuckles.
“Take a nap” she says softly as she briefly looks at you. “I’ll be here, we have time”
“You sure?” You mumble sleepily as you start to drift off causing the older woman to chuckle softly.
“I’m sure, now rest” she mumbles as she leans forward to gently take off the sunhat you have on, placing it on her lap and tucks a stray piece of hair that fell over your eyes behind your ear as you doze off.
Now Julieta never labels herself as a creep, but she honestly felt it the moment she realized she started to stare at your sleeping face all lovey-dovey. She sighs softly as she rests her head onto the top of your head, allowing to indulge herself in the moment. She’d try to move on from you one day, but for now though she’ll enjoy this experience as the closest she could get to being “yours”.
Tumblr media
“Pepa, stop it” you narrow your eyes at the cheeky redhead as you accompany her to her chores this morning.
Of all the Madrigal triplets, you became really close with Pepa and see her as your best friend. The cheeky redhead knew since day 1 of your crush for her sister but knew any better to mention it until you were ready, which was right now.
“Come on Y/N! You’re finally admitting your feelings for Juli, isn’t it great? You’re finally moving on from you know who!” She says as she walks to the farms with you so she could check if there’s anything needed for a bit. You chuckle softly at her enthusiasm as you shrug in response.
“I still don’t know honestly, feels too early for me” you admit as you finally reach the fields where Pepa sits down on the grass where you sit directly in front of her. Luckily for the both of you, it seems like the farmers are doing alright with their crops so you wouldn’t be needed for the time being.
“There’s no general time frame on moving on you know” Pepa points out with a shrugs as she picks up some daisies to make into a flower crown. “Besides, you like my sister right?”
Your eyes widen at that observation as your jaw drops, which answers the redhead’s suspicions from the start. “P-Pepa!”
“So you admit it?” She asks you with a slight raise of an eyebrow and a quirk at the end of her lips in amusement. “It’s okay, honestly you two are so obvious”
“She’s just being friendly” you start as you stare off at the distance and watch some kids, 2 girls and a boy, playing together. “Just like the rest of the family”
“You know it’s different” Pepa follows your gaze, watching the three kids well as they play. The two girls are acting really sweet together while the boy’s just having the time of his life playing with his best friends. You smile softly at the sight in front of you, especially with how one of the girls removes her shawl to place at the ground so the other girl’s shoes doesn’t get dirty.
After a few moments of silence, Pepa finally breaks it by finishing up her daisy flower crown with a soft smile. “There’s a party being thrown this weekend, Mamá plans to introduce Juli to the Rojas’ son”
You quickly look at Pepa as she reveals the new source of information.
It’s not a surprise that the triplets are being introduced to suitors whenever there’s a party being hosted at the Casita, but you didn’t expect for it to be Agustin Rojas of all people. You knew of the man of course, he was your neighbor before marring Miguel. You two would talk from time to time so you knew he actually has a crush on the eldest triplet but never truly acted on it. While you’re proud of him for finally getting his shit together, you’d wish it’s not when you’re slowly realizing your feelings for the same person.
“I won’t tell you what to so” Pepa starts as she scoots closer to you, replacing your sun hat with the flower crown she just made and smiles. “I just wanted to tell you so you know whether or not to make a move but follow your heart, okay? No one deserved what happened but what you do deserve is genuine love”
Tumblr media
The weekend of the party finally comes and chaotic doesn’t even begin to describe what’s going on at the Casita. Everyone in the family and some others are helping setting everything up and with the Madrigal’s reputation with parties, you know this will be a really good one.. okay maybe except for the fact that Julieta’s being introduced to Agustin.
You sigh in defeat as you walk to Bruno’s room as you were tasked to help Bruno out with some decorations. He told you to meet him at his room instead of his other room within the walls of the magical home, which is a shock since he prefers that area than his actual room. Upon arriving, you raised your fist to knock but the door wings open to reveal the youngest triplet.
“Y/N/N! Perfect timing!” He says as he pulls you in the room causing you to squeak out in shock while he closes the door behind you.
“Bruno! Don’t scare me like that!” You scold the man as you walk further into the room. “Where’s the decorations?”
“In my other room” he nonchalantly says as he leads you to a secret shortcut that would lead to the sand cave.
“Then why are we here? Gonna kidnap me never to be seen again?” You tease as he laughs at your joke, but follow him regardless.
“If I did want that, I would have done that sooner” he starts as he chuckles, opening a door for you to walk in. “But no the reason I called you here is because Pepa asked me to give you a vision”
“A vision?” You ask him as you walk in to see the sand cave. Your eyes widen in shock as you slowly turn to face the man as he proceeds to get ready for the ritual. “Oh Brunito you don’t have t-“
“Y/N/N” he starts as he stops what he was doing so he could look up at you, motioning for you to sit across him on the sand. You could never say no to the youngest triplet so you sigh and follow his motions. “You have to trust me on this one. While yes Peps asked me to do so, I’ve been wanting to do it too”
“Why?” You couldn’t help but ask to which he just gives you a smile and a shrug in response.
“I think I want another sister who deserves a good life with the person they love, that’s all”
Tumblr media
The party finally starts and boy was it truly the party of the century. Everyone’s having the time of their life with all the free-flowing drinks and the delicious food Julieta prepared for the party. The music playing by the local band filling the Casita with the perfect dancing ambiance that could make the whole town dance the night away. From afar you could see Julieta refilling the food and drinks station with the help of Bruno while Pepa and Felix are just dancing it out at the dance floor.
You decided to dress up a bit considering the occasion so you’re currently wearing a blue sun dress with a sweetheart neckline and a strap that’s tied at the back of your neck. The dress’ sits just barely by your knees and you’re wearing a nice pair of block heels, perfect for dancing the night away if you wished. Your hair curled and pinned up and makeup done lightly but still accentuates your natural beauty. Before you could make it further into the magical house, Pepa squeals from afar as she quickly runs to you causing the youngest of the siblings to look at you with his jaw dropped to the floor.
“You look amazing!!” Pepa says with a wide grin as she twirls you around causing you to giggle at the motion. “I knew that dress would look amazing on you!”
“Thank you Peps” you chuckle as you give her a little bow that caused the both of you to smile happily at each other. Pepa bought the dress for you and left it on top of your bed with a note saying to wear it for the party tonight and honestly, you’re not regretting it so far. “Have you seen Bruno?”
“Wow Y/N” he says as he walks up to you. “You look amazing”
“Why thank you” you chuckle softly and smile at him. “You look amazing as usual
He rolls his eyes fondly as he poses for you. “Why this is my finest ruana after all, gotta dress for the occasion right?”
The three of you laugh at the teasing, enjoying the company of one another. Suddenly, Pepa leans in closer to the three of you with a mischievous look. “Don’t look now but you have everyone’s attention Y/N/N, all their eyes are on the town’s bookworm”
Lo and behold, the second triplet is a right because almost all of the bachelors are looking at you with their full attention causing you to suddenly becoming shy at the stares. You blush furiously as you clear your throat as the other two chuckles. “This is embarrassing”
“Don’t be” Bruno says with a smile. “You’re gorgeous, and you should look for Juli because Mamá pulled her away just moments before you came”
As if right on cue, the three of you hear a change in song to something a little slower where Agustin takes Julieta’s hand and lead her onto the dance floor. Now while yes you have finally admitted your feelings for the older woman, you would never admit that you’re the jealous kind.
While the 2 out of the 3 siblings hypes you up, you take a silent deep breath as you walk up to Julieta and Agustin. As you reach them, Agustin has told Julieta a joke that made her laugh and smile at the younger man. You internally wince a little at that, praying to whichever God is watching to be on your side tonight or this would 10000% ruin your friendship without a problem.
You clear your throat as you gently tap Agustin’s free shoulder, causing the two to look over at you as you look back with a smile. “Hi sorry to interrupt but, May I?”
Before Agustin could say no, Julieta pulls back from the man and gives him a smile. “We can dance later Gus, I have something to talk to Y/N about anyway”
He sighs softly as he nods, letting the two of you have some alone time. You smile gratefully at Julieta as you offer your hand. “Thank you, I didn’t want to wait any longer”
“It’s alright” Julieta starts as she takes your hand, placing her other hand on your shoulder as you place your other hand on her waist. The music changes to the instrumentals to ‘Until I Found You’ by Stephen Sanchez, which was the song you asked the band to play before you walked up to the preciously dancing pair. “What did you wanna talk about?”
You start to sway the both of you to the beat of the music as you channel all the internal courage you could muster up. “About us, actually”
That gained the complete attention of the older healer, who looks at you curiously. “Oh really?”
You nod in response as you give her a soft smile. “Yea, you’ve been really good to me these past few months, actually your entire family. I wanted to say thank you”
Her heart warms up a little at the confession as she gives you a kind smile. Well honestly speaking, she believed her heart skipping a beat was not because of the confession but at how amazing you are at the waltz because it’s actively making her swoon for you. “Oh Y/N/N-“
“But that’s not all” you start as you take a deep breath, twirling her a little and gently pulling her back to you causing her hand to fall onto your chest as you continue to waltz.
“I know that you know about my past relationship, how it broke me down into someone who truly believed they couldn’t have anything good romantically in their life. I remember being really lost, not knowing what to do when Miguel was forced to leave because all I knew about love was him but you came into the picture” you admit softly as the song in the background reaches its climax, to which the band starts to sing the chorus.
“Your presence became the light at the end of the tunnel for me and while I’m still not sure how it would go, I’d like to let you know that I really like you Juli. I never thought I’d be capable in falling in love, until I met you” this made Julieta’s heart burst with happiness as tears start to well up in her eyes, a smile quickly forming on her lips.
“You really thought so?” She asks as you nod in response with a smile.
“Yea, your siblings gave me the push I needed to confess to you and while I’m still not sure you feel the same way, I just thought-“ before you could finish your spiel, Julieta cuts you off by leaning in and pressing her lips against yours causing fireworks to set off for the both of you.
You melt into the kiss, kissing her back as you gently cup her cheek while affectionately caressing her cheek with the pad of your thumb. When air finally becomes a problem, you pull back and happy grins form on both of your faces.
“I want to give us a shot, I never thought I’d fall for someone as much as I do for you” Julieta confesses quietly as she rests her head on your shoulder as you wrap your arms around her waist, continuing the swaying to the beat of the music.
“Yea, let’s give it a shot”
Tumblr media
BONUS SCENE!
A wave of peace flows between the both of you before Julieta pulls back a bit to look at you with an amused look. “What?”
“What made you decide to confess?” She asks curiously causing you to blush furiously. “Oh my gosh did my siblings put you up to this?”
“Pepa kept bugging me about it, told me about you and Agustin and Bruno gave me a vision which ended to us dancing a few hours ago so I decided to give it a shot” you mumble bashfully as you look anywhere but her as she smirks at your shyness.
“So peer pressure made you decide to confess? Even though I was dropping hints left and right?” She teases you causing you to gasp at the sudden cheekiness of your newest love interest, blushing even more as she chuckles. “It’s alright, we can thank them later”
“I think they know already” you say as you point at the two siblings who are basically bullying the hell out of each other, hitting and shaking each other violently that would make any outsider worry. Luckily for you, you’re not an outsider so you know this is a daily occurrence for the siblings.
Julieta sighs in defeat as she pulls back, albeit reluctantly, from your arms. “oh Dios mío voy a morir temprano por ellos (oh my god i'm gonna die early because of them)”
You chuckle at the poor healer as you gently give her a soft peck on the cheek as she look at you in shock, but her blushing says otherwise. “You’re still gonna love them regardless because I think they saw what happened and are very happy for us, I could tell based on how Pepa’s very close at flipping the table in front of her”

Cuando la veo (Julieta x Fem!Reader)

_____________________________
You closed your eyes and clenched your fists not caring that the cloth in your hand wrinkled beyond recognition, in fact, what you wanted most was to rip the dress apart, tear everything in your room, and leave the world as destroyed as your heart. It wasn't fair, this wasn't how it all had to end, your life was supposed to just begin, bright mornings and warm afternoons awaited you with the love of your life. But you were only greeted with a terrible winter that soaked into your bones and a huge emptiness in the center of your chest.
"You promised you'd be here, Santi" you whispered, hugging yourself "you swore you'd never leave me"
And yet, you were alone again.
No family, no friends, no partner, no future. You had nothing more than the misery that consumed you little by little, the guilt that whispered in your ear that you could have done more, the rage that threatened to burn you whole from the inside, and a love, pure and sincere, so big that was painful because it no longer had anyone to reach out to.
You glanced sideways at the letter that had arrived that morning. You had barely opened it, and all you had to do was read the greeting to set it aside and burst into tears, too weak to face any consolatory speech it might contain. “I'm so sorry, my little alhelí” it said, in your aunt’s fine handwriting, the only family you had left, and whom you hadn't seen in years.
You didn't even know how she found out about what happened, but you didn't care at the time, it had all stopped making sense to you anyway. All you wanted was for time to turn back and for your fiancé to come back, to fulfill the perfect life that you were supposed to have together.
"Damn you, Santiago Cabral" you said, swallowing the lump in your throat "damn you for leaving me alone, for breaking my heart like this... and because deep down I know it's my fault, that I wasn't enough"
A new wave of tears invaded you, making you fall to your knees beside the bed. Your hands no longer had the strength to keep mistreating the veil of your wedding dress, nor did your voice come out in sobs. You were simply no more than a ghost. One that seemed doomed to the memory of a man who never came and never would.
________________________
Julieta sighed heavily as she set the wooden ladle aside, turning off the stove and wiping her hands on her apron. She really missed Casita. Weeks had passed since the miracle was lost, leaving her entire family helpless, lost, and destabilized, and although the town seemed to wake up from a dream and had come to help them, one family even lent them a house to live in while they rebuilt theirs, it was true that the Madrigals could have had a better time.
Sure, there were some who adjusted better than others, but that didn’t mean they haven't suffered. Of the six grandchildren, Dolores was the one who felt most comfortable, it seemed that she was almost relieved to have lost her gift, and Julieta couldn't blame her, her niece seemed freer and happier, being able to participate in more activities that she couldn't before due to the sensory overload of her super hearing. Camilo and Isabela said they were fine, but there were times when someone would catch them trying to reactivate their gifts or pretend they still had them.
Antonio and Luisa were the most vocal when it came to expressing their pain, both very resentful of the loss of their gifts, one because of the brevity in which he was able to enjoy it and the other because of a sense of identity that was taken from her. And her sweet Mirabel, used to live without a magical gift, had taken it upon herself to teach them how to live a normal life. The only good thing about all of this was that the six of them had become a little more united and that if one was in trouble, the other five would respond. It was cute if she was being honest.
Adults were another story. Mom appeared to be strong, but everyone could see the fear in her eyes and the pain of having lost the last vestiges of Dad's sacrifice, she was almost always locked in her designated room. Bruno had spent the last ten years without having visions, so it wasn't hard for him to get used to the lack of magic, adjusting to living with the rest of the family again was the real challenge. Pepa didn't seem to mind not having a constant cloud over her head, and she took the time to reconnect with her brother, so they could almost always be found together, without the third of their triad.
Julieta was not proud to admit that the one who was handling everything the worst was herself. After having spent the last forty-five years cooking tirelessly, ensuring the health and safety of the entire town, she now felt utterly useless, with nothing to do, nor a true purpose that would finish justifying her existence.
She had ceased to be someone necessary, now she was simply a sad shadow, an empty shell, a lump that everyone forgot about after breakfast and until lunch, then disappeared again until dinner. And that hurt her soul. She couldn't help anyone anymore, she couldn't take care of her daughters and nephews, mom didn't talk to her anymore, she couldn't bond with her siblings, no matter how many times she tried or how much she missed Bruno, he and Pepa had always had a stronger bond than they ever would have with her. Simply, she no longer felt like she belonged to her own family.
There was only one person in the whole town who still seemed to notice her, who still cared for her, only one man who still bothered to ask her if she was okay or listen if she needed him. And it was not her husband, but her brother-in-law.
Agustín had been a great source of comfort in the first few days after Casita was lost, just as he had been the night Bruno disappeared. But like that time, that concern and fleeting warmth disappeared after three or four days. She wasn't stupid, she knew how things were between them for years, even before Mirabel's birth, and she really couldn't blame him for anything.
The thing was, since Casita was gone, Gus had stopped having so many accidents, and if he did, he wouldn't go to her, because after all, what could she do without her gift? So the gap that had existed between them for more than fifteen years began to widen little by little with each day that Agustín went to town, exploring a freedom that, ironically, seemed magical, while she was left alone, in a strange house, as if she was part of the kitchen instruments and nothing more.
"Okay, this is the third time you've sighed in the last five minutes, what's wrong?"
Julieta jumped a little and turned around quickly, finding Felix who was looking at her quite amused from the door frame. The woman sighed in relief and felt her muscles relax considerably in the man's presence. Of all the people around her, only he could make her feel a little better these days.
"How long have you been there?" she asked softly
"Enough to feel offended that you didn't notice" he smiled.
She rolled her eyes affectionately and crossed her arms as he walked towards her, carefully following his every move. She didn't think he was going to do it this time, but her brother-in-law could be ruthless when he put his mind to it, and she had no intention of getting caught up in a tickling fit again, childish as that sounded.
"So" he said, standing in front of her and mimicking her stance "are we going to do it by hook or by crook?"
Julieta looked at him for a moment, internally cursing the simple way in which his eyes seemed to scan her soul, without giving her a chance to come up with an excuse. No matter how many years passed, Felix had always been good at getting everything out of her, she could lie to anyone but him. It didn't mean she didn't try, though.
"It's nothing" she said "I'm just a little tired of cooking, that's all" he didn't seem to believe her at all.
“You decided the hard way then” he said, smiling as her sister-in-law's eyes widened and she hurried away from him.
"No, no, no, no, don't even think about it" she warned him
"Come here, Juli, I just want to talk to you"
"Stay away from me, Felix, I'm serious."
He just laughed and kept moving towards her, chasing her around the table and returning to their place the chairs she was pulling out to try to slow his progress. They both knew they were making a ridiculous scene and that if anyone found them they would think they had lost their sanity, but they didn't care. Despite what the woman said, he could see a soft ghost of joy in her eyes and a smile tugging at the corner of her mouth, and that was enough for him.
"Felix, stay away" she told him again, taking the wooden ladle as a weapon.
"I wouldn't have to chase you if you stopped running" he replied.
Julieta didn't even notice the rag lying on the floor, too busy with the man in front of her, so she screamed when her heel slipped, knocking her off balance. She instinctively closed her eyes, waiting for the blow, but it never came. Instead, she felt a pair of large, strong hands, one on her hip and the other on her arm, holding her upright.
"I got you" her brother-in-law smirked at her.
"Th-thank you," she replied, pulling away from him and picking up the rag.
The atmosphere cooled again and the twinkle in the woman's eyes disappeared, as did any trace of amusement that might have existed. Felix was deeply sorry, but he also knew it wasn't unusual. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't keep his sister-in-law happy for more than a few minutes, at least not anymore.
There was a time when he and Julieta used to do everything together, when they were children they could spend hours and hours playing just the two of them without getting bored, they told each other everything, they supported and cared for each other, and despite their fears, it did not change as they grew. It was true that they drifted a bit apart when he started dating Pepa and she met Agustín, but they still managed to find moments to have fun together, and even once they had formed their respective sides of the family, it was not uncommon to see them together in the kitchen, talking quietly or venting comfortably with the other.
He knew that she saw him as another brother, and he felt the same for her. And maybe he never told her, but being a few years older, he felt it was his responsibility to take care of her as he took care of his beautiful wife. It just felt natural to him. That's why it hurt so much that he couldn't give her the comfort she so obviously needed.
"It's because of him, isn't it?" he asked carefully
"Felix-"
"You can't lie to me, Juli, you know that" he interrupted her "...it's because of Agustín"
She clenched her fists for a moment, before sighing and looking away. Sometimes she really hated the way he could read her so easily as if he knew her so much better than she knew herself. She didn't even try to pretend that she was surprised that she didn't call him “Gus” but instead went by his full name. Her husband had ceased to be her brother-in-law's comrade the same day that he had ceased to be the man she fell in love with.
“…partly yes,” she admitted quietly, “I just…feel lonely, you know? I'm glad that the girls are distracted, that they go for a walk and make friends, and it would be selfish of me to want Agustín to stay here with me all day."
"But?"
"...but, sometimes I wish that...I don't know, he would at least pretend that he cares a little about me" she said, hugging herself "I'm not going to say that I miss him getting hurt, on the contrary, you know well that one of the reasons we started to fell apart was because I was tired of having to heal him every two minutes”
It was true. On more than one occasion, Félix had heard her complain about having to run behind an adult man with an arepa in her hand in case he hurt himself like a little boy, and although she had found it cute at the beginning of their relationship, the truth was that the man and his accidents consumed most of what little free time she had.
"And I'm really glad he doesn't have so many accidents, especially now that I can't do anything for him, but a simple 'good morning' or a hug would be enough" she continued "the only times he seems to notice me is when we have to fake smiles in front of the girls”
"Juli-"
"And the fights, Felix...those are the worst part"
"The fights?"
He moved closer to her, frowning in concern and feeling his blood boil as tears began to roll down the woman's cheeks. But he knew Julieta, and after a few seconds he could see that they weren't tears of sadness, but of anger. If that man had hurt her, he wouldn't live another day to tell about it.
"He did something to you?" he asked carefully
Julieta stared at him in amazement, blinking a little as a mist lifted from her mind and a warm feeling bloomed in her chest as she noted the fire in the man's eyes. It felt nice to know that at least he cared for her to the point that the idea of someone hurting her caused such a reaction, even if it wasn't the case.
"No" she assured him, wiping her tears with the back of her hand and smiling softly at him "no, he hasn't done anything to me."
"But have you fought?"
"..Yeah"
"About what?"
“Lots of things” she sighed “but it's almost always about how late he gets home. And it's not that I want to control him, he can go where he pleases, but I never know where he is and I no longer have excuses for the girls when they ask me about him. I trust him, Félix, but I can't dispel doubts, especially Isabela's, if I don't know where he gets into all day... and these fights are becoming more and more frequent"
Felix looked at her for a moment, before sighing and pulling her into a hug that he knew she badly needed. He wasn't even surprised when she buried her face in his shoulder, nor did he care when he felt hot tears soaking into his shirt. It was a delicate matter, that was eating his best friend from the inside, and he knew that he would have to put that card back on the table, for her sake.
"Have you thought about getting a divorce, Juli?" he asked softly after she calmed down
The woman tensed in his arms for a moment and was silent for a long time. He waited patiently for her to accommodate her thoughts, held her firmly until he felt her relax again, and only broke away from her when she unwrapped her arms from his body. Julieta wiped her tears with her hand again, before she accepted gratefully the napkin that he offered her.
The truth was, there was no reason to avoid the question. Felix knew that she had been thinking about this for a long time, perhaps two years after Luisa was born. He had been surprised when she told him, but still, he had supported her as always and he had made her feel safe, even helping her figure out what papers she needed. But then Mirabel was born.
She would never, ever have the audacity to say that any of her daughters were a mistake. They were not. She loved them more than her life and would do anything for them, to take care of them and protect them, but sometimes she wondered if Mirabel's lack of gift was due to the fact that neither she nor Agustín had planned to have her, it just... happened.
And with her birth, things changed again. The news that he would be a father again had brought back her Agustín, the man she had fallen in love with. He had cared for her and pampered her like a queen, always attentive and ready to help her in whatever she needed, and for a brief moment, she had allowed herself to think that perhaps love had resurfaced between them... but it hadn't. As soon as her youngest daughter was out of her body, she returned to being one more decoration in the house.
It hurt her, knowing that they really had lost the fire they once shared, but she supposed that was how things were, and that it was better to get used to it. After all, absolutely no one could accuse Agustín Rojas of being a bad father, and she herself would be the first in the line of defense if someone tried to, she shouldn't be selfish, she should be thankful that her daughters had grown up with the best father they could have had, regardless of whether the little affection that still remained between them couldn't even be called friendship.
"He's a good man, Félix" she whispered.
“But you don't love him…not like that” it wasn't a question, but she forced herself to answer anyway.
"...No"
"Then why do you stay?" Félix asked "why are you still with him when you both know there's nothing there anymore?"
Julieta shuddered. He wasn't rude, nor could she find any hint of judgment in his tone, he really wanted to know, but saying it out loud made it terribly true, and she didn't know if she was ready to be honest with him, or with herself.
"For my daughters" she replied, looking into his eyes "...and because I don't know anything else...I don't want to be alone, and a cold presence is better than an empty bed"
Felix looked at her with a mixture of compassion and pain, but he didn't say anything, he simply hugged her again, wishing he could convey in that gesture all the love he had for her, and a clear message of support that he hoped she could get.
"Julieta!"
The two jumped up and separated quickly at the sound of Alma's voice and footsteps. The matriarch entered the kitchen just after her daughter had finished pulling herself together and putting a painfully fake smile on her face. Felix just nodded respectfully at her.
"Yes mom?" she obediently asked
“Mija, could you take some things to Laurita? She just told me that her niece is coming to live in Encanto, and she is interested in taking over her sewing workshop. I would go myself, but I have to accompany my children to the square, Brunito wants a new book and Pepita demanded one too" the woman laughed affectionately, undoubtedly adoring the image of her youngest children "so I thought you could go since you are not busy anyway”
Julieta felt her heart drop and the wound reopen. Not only did it hurt that her mother seemed to forget that she, too, was part of her "beloved" triplets, but the fact that the freshly cooked meal was behind her and yet she was thought not to be busy made her feel even more useless than she already did. But she forced herself to maintain her composure and was grateful that her mother didn't seem to notice that her smile was growing tighter with each passing second.
"Sure mom" she said haltingly "I'll go right away"
"Thank you dear"
Felix watched in silence as Alma left the kitchen, not noticing his presence for a single moment, before turning to Julieta, who only clenched her fists while she tried to calm herself with deep breaths.
"I can go" he said, placing a hand on her shoulder gently.
"No, it's fine, I can do it" she smiled at him "besides, some fresh air would do me good... right?"
"Sure" he returned her smile.
Neither of them mentioned the fact that the tension could be cut, deciding not to make matters worse, they were uncomfortable enough on their own. He assured her that he would take care of the rest of the meal, which she was grateful for as she walked out, leaving her apron hanging on the hook by the door.
_______________________
"I'll wait for you downstairs, my alhelí" your aunt smiled at you, tucking a lock of hair behind your ear "I've already cleaned the workshop, but if you want to remodel it, go ahead"
"Thank you, tía" you answered softly
“I asked Alma to bring me some things that I lent to the Rodríguez, it shouldn't take her long. She will be delighted to meet you”
You just smiled politely and closed your eyes to enjoy the feel of her calloused hand slowly caressing your cheek like when you were a child. The mention of your aunt's friend made you a little nervous if you were being honest. Tía Laura had filled you in on various events as soon as you arrived in town, and although you hadn't really been able to keep up with everything, you had gotten a little bit of the idea that Alma Madrigal and her family were practically royalty here, even though you didn't know very well why, and that they had recently lost their house, but you didn't know why either, a construction failure, perhaps.
An unfortunate fact, really, and perhaps in other circumstances, you would have offered to check if anyone needed medical attention since your aunt had told you that there were no doctors in the town (which shocked you, despite the promises of the older woman that they hadn't needed it), but in your current state and with guilt eating away at your soul, all you could offer was a feeble prayer for them, to whatever god would listen to a broken woman.
"I'll leave you to finish unpacking" Laura told you, taking you out of your thoughts "call me if you need me"
You offered her a weak nod and an increasingly broken smile. You hated the way the tears were starting to pool in your eyes again and your pulse raced. You had already spent too many months crying, it was not humanly possible that you still had tears, you didn't want to, you were tired of crying. Your aunt must have felt it, because without saying anything she caught you in a strong and warm hug, letting her fingers play with your hair.
“It's okay, my girl” she said sweetly “you'll be fine. You will heal"
You really wanted to believe her, you needed it to be true, but the pain was too deep in your chest that you doubted it would ever get out of there. Still, you refused to overwhelm the woman and forced yourself to hold back the tears a little longer, save them for when you were alone. You pulled away from her and forced another smile.
"Thank you, tía" you said again "for accepting me here"
"You will always be welcome here" she told you "as long as I am alive, you will always have a family, my girl"
"I don't know how I'm going to repay you" you said
"Nonsense, you don't owe me anything" she laughed "besides, we haven't had a professional seamstress here in a long time, and I can't imagine anyone more perfect for the job than you, my precious alhelí."
You chuckled softly as she pinched your cheek and watched silently as she left the room. You tried not to flinch too much when the temperature changed drastically as soon as the door closed as if all the cold and darkness inside you had been waiting until you were alone to get back to you.
You looked at the suitcase that was on the bed and the emptiness in your chest seemed to get bigger. You felt fragile and small and defenseless and a part of you was cursing you for having decided to pack… that. Of course, you knew it had been a bad idea, a terrible, pointless mistake. There was no good reason to justify your need to pack it, other than clinging to the last memories of Santiago and the idea of a life that would never belong to you.
Now you had to assume the consequences of that impulsive decision and come face to face with the ghost you had been carrying. You took a deep breath and walked over to the bed, taking the clasps of the suitcase with trembling hands. You knew it would be the first thing you would see when you opened it because it had been the very last thing you had packed.
"I can do it" you whispered "I can do it"
You closed your eyes as you slowly lifted the lid, feeling like a prisoner awaiting sentencing, and after a few seconds, you forced yourself to look down. There it was, your wedding dress, as white and pure as the day you bought it. The veil was wrinkled from the force with which you had taken it that terrible day, but the rest was intact.
You felt as if the white burned your eyes, mocking you. It was as if the fabric knew that you were never going to wear it, that you would never see yourself in the mirror wearing it or walk down the aisle to the love of your life. It was as if the dress knew it was over before it even started. And yet, you hadn't been able to get rid of it. The thought of leaving it behind had seemed like a crime to you, which was why you had brought it with you, despite the damage you knew it would cause. Of course, not as much as the other dress you buried in the smaller suitcase, but you weren’t planning on opening that one yet, not in a long, long time.
You couldn't bear to look at it for more than a few moments, so you quickly picked it up and carelessly stuffed it into a black cloth bag your aunt had lent you, tossing it to the back of the closet, where it would stay until the next time you decided to torture yourself and take it out.
"Hopefully, I'll find something in this place that will make me forget it's here" you said to yourself.
You turned your attention to the rest of your things, unpacking everything quickly so as not to keep your aunt waiting too long, but the dresses never left the back of your mind.

Julieta! It's nice to see you here, my dear."
The brunette smiled kindly, receiving the older woman's hug a bit awkwardly as she tried to balance the boxes of fabric, ribbons, needles, and other sewing items that her mother had asked her to bring. She had hoped that the walk there would clear her mind a bit, but the feeling of loneliness kept swimming in her chest like a fish in water.
"Same here, Laura" she politely replied "it's been a while."
"And you say it, Mija, it's been a long time since I saw your face"
Julieta laughed softly, silently acknowledging the maternal warmth that characterized the other woman. Laura had become known in Encanto for the beautiful dresses and suits that she made, with unique designs and beautiful patterns, there was no one in town who would not want to have at least one item of clothing from her collection. It had been a shame when the woman had decided to close her sewing shop, saying that she felt too old to go on with it.
In truth, she was only about 12 years older than the triplets, so she really wasn't as old as she claimed, but she had been adamant in her decision, so they hadn't been left with a choice other than accept it. She still took on mending and embroidery jobs, but it wasn't the same anymore, though the woman's warmth and kindness were still well-known and appreciated.
"Mom asked me to bring you this" the brunette said, carefully moving the boxes.
"Oh yes, allow me" Laura smiled, taking some of the smaller boxes to lighten her load "come in, you're home"
Julieta nodded gratefully, following the woman inside. Despite her age, she felt like a child entering a wonderland and she couldn't contain her amazement as soon as she walked through the front door. Laura had always had exquisite taste, and despite the fact that she had only been in her house a few times accompanying her mother when she was little, she still found it a precious place.
There were elegant decorations and handmade embroidery pictures everywhere. The plants that were in the corners really brought life to the room and the soft beige color of the walls made everything feel homey, warm and so familiar that the brunette felt strangely sheltered and safe there. If it weren't for the fact that the images of Casita collapsing still haunted her every time she closed her eyes, she could almost say it was the second most magical place in Encanto.
"You can put that in there, honey" Laura said, snapping her out of her thoughts. "Alma must have been busy."
"Yes" Julieta forced a smile as she left the boxes on the floor "She, Pepa, and Bruno had to go buy some things"
"And you didn't want to go with them, dear?"
The brunette felt as if a dagger was being plunged into her chest, but she maintained her composure. After all, it wasn't the kind woman's fault that she was being selfish and wishing her mother or her siblings would include her in their plans.
“I was just curious” she lied “that's a lot of sewing stuff, can we expect a reopening of your workshop soon?”
“Oh, I hope so, mija” Laura laughed heartily “although not because of me. You know I'm too old for that, but my niece is interested in it."
"Oh yes, mom mentioned that she was going to move here."
"My precious girl, she has just arrived, after I begged her for months" the older woman said, smiling fondly "and I must say that her hands are more skilled, and her designs far surpass any of mine."
"No one could top your designs, tía, but I appreciate the compliment."
Julieta jumped a little at the sudden voice that came from behind her. She turned to see the most beautiful woman she had ever seen coming down the stairs. She was young, with an innocent and passionate aura, but her eyes were loaded with sadness and in her smile, she hid the ghost of deep pain. Still, the brunette couldn't help the feeling of warmth that settled in her stomach, as if thousands of butterflies began to wake up, her mouth went dry and time seemed to stop, preventing her from saying anything or doing anything but looking at you while you. Of all the amazing treasures that Laura had, it was definitely you, the newest addition, the most beautiful.

Julieta with a fem reader who is frail and sickly and thus always needs to be taken care of.
(Sure!)
Care (Yandere Julieta x frail/sick fem! reader)
Tumblr media
(I honestly don't even know anymore with the gifs, I give up.)
Tw: hoping another stays sick (Sorry wasn't sure how to word it.), unhealthy obsession, yandere themes.
You arm weakly attempted to put the spoon into your mouth, but it only resulted in spilling the soup onto yourself. And the spoon as well, dropped onto the blankets.
Julieta looked worryingly at you, quickly attending to you. "Are you alright mi amor? Let me help you." "Thanks," you barley managed to get out. Giving a smile to her. "Let me go get a change of clothes, don't do anything silly please..." Julieta told you as she headed out the door.
You did as you were told, waiting for Julieta to return. She then helped you change into clean clothes. Also bringing back some food for you to eat.
Julieta put the spoon into your mouth, patiently waiting for you to swollow the soup. She done the same every time, then bringing up a conversation. A mostly concerned one.
"Has my food been helping you, at all?" She asked, "only slightly." You weakly replied. A frown curved onto Julieta's face, "I really hope you get better mi amor." "I hope so too."
Julieta then walked to the kitchen, placing the bowl on the bench beside her. She then gave a smile, she honestly didn't mind taking care of you. She loved feeding you, helping you dress. Julieta hoped you stayed like this, forever...
(Sorry, kind of needed to add some yandere to it.)

El Castillo de Encanto: Que Tú Eres Mi Destino
The Castle of the Enchantment: That You Are My Destiny
Each new gift given by the miraculous candle was meant to strengthen the community, strengthen the El Castillo de Encanto. To make the royal Madrigal family proud.
You work as a personal servant within the Royal Madrigal's family castle, but after the fall of the Castillo and rebirth of the miracle, your work plans change. Time to make the missing triplet feel at home once again.
The dictionary of my spanglish and bad timeline: - El Castillo de Encanto the casita in this version. - Reader is technically 22 years old. - I'm using a mix of a magical democratic monarchy and traditional Spanish, Colombian, and a dash of Downton Abbey
Chapter ambience: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLWbKf4YcAA
Fifty years ago, a newly widowed mother received a miracle. Pushed out of her home after the birth of her three children by the violent conflict of the Colombian civil war, she and her husband were forced to flee in hopes of finding a new home. Even as many joined them, they could not escape the dangers of warfare. The wife watched as her newly fathered husband was lost to the violence of war. But, even in their darkest moment, Alma Madrigal was given a miracle.
The candle she held became a magical flame that could never go out, and glowed brightly in that dark night. It blessed Alma Madrigal with a refuge in which to live. The magic made towering green, protective mountains over her and her people. It was a place of wonder, an enchantment. The miracle grew, creating a castle for her and her family to live in, El Castillo de Encanto. Their house, the castle itself, came alive to shelter them.
When her children came of age, the miracle blessed them with magic too. Passing down to them a magical gift to match the magical candle Queen Alma Madrigal was bestowed. And when their children came of age, that magic was passed through each generation. Together, the royal family's gifts have made the Encanto, truly, a paradise.
Each new gift given by the miraculous candle was meant to strengthen the community, strengthen the El Castillo de Encanto. To make the royal Madrigal family proud.
Each gift given to the Madrigal’s was just as special as they were.
~~~
When you wake up you do so to the sound of a ringing bell, loud and clanging to purposefully alert the women and men around you. You jump up so fast being so startled and smack your forehead on the wooden panel of the bunk above you. With a small hiss and rubbing your forehead, you stumble out of bed, grabbing at the clothes under your bed frame. The woman above you does too. Everyone around is scrambling to get their royal garb on, whispering in excitement.
Today we move back into El Castillo de Encanto! The Castle!
You had to admit how relieved you were. It was so cramped in this temporary arrangement the servants of the Madrigal family found themselves in while the magic was still weak. This was usually where the nuns from the church would stay.
Truly, a humble celibate life they live… You think to yourself as you use a silvery, shiny ribbon to quickly tie your hair into a low ponytail.
Ten years ago, the village of Encanto fretted over the state of the magic blessing when Mirabel Madrigal did not receive a gift like the rest of her family. Not even 24 hours later, one of the royal magical triplets in the second generation known as “Bruno, la maldición del destino” by most of the town, disappeared.
You were only 12 when this all happened, working alongside your parents as an apprentice of servitude. When you were 13, you were working alone without your parents anymore. You weren’t sure why they passed away so young.
You loved your parents. The Columbian political unrest was too much, most nights they could see the smoke billowing from other towns around them being lit aflame. When your mother got pregnant with you they had a hard decision to make, stay with their friends and family and be in their home, or leave to ensure the safety of their future daughter- you. They thought and thought until your mother was incredibly far along in her pregnancy and the smoke got closer and closer, until they could see orange in the village nearby. The flames licked upwards, burning the homes of innocent families. So, with nothing but a bag with a blanket and a mysterious letter that didn’t have a return address with directions, they set out to find the mysterious Encanto.
You still had that letter. You had practically memorized what it had written on it. In shiny golden metallic font, it stated, “The Encanto, home for anyone looking for refuge or a miracle. Follow the butterflies. Climb the forested mountain. It is waiting for you.” They did. Somehow, they told you, they found it. It was almost like being lost and blinking and suddenly realizing where you’re going. They walked by the butterflies they saw. They took the nights in the cover of the jungle forests. They hiked up mountains.
They actually saw the castle, and almost as if it was meant to be, your mother went into labor. You remembered sitting there and listening to this story as a child with wonder coursing through your veins. The magical royal family was alerted to them as newcomers, and they took pity on your mother and father. You were born inside the castle, brought into the world by none other than her Majesty Juileta Madrigal. The Madrigals favored your parents' perseverance and love for you as their daughter. They were personally assigned to be paid and housed as servants of the Madrigal family.
Which, in the Encanto, was a very good job many of the villagers would be envious of.
Your mother became Juileta’s personal servant. Your father, Bruno’s. You would remember how your mom would come back to the servants quarters with a smile on her face and a treat for you. Your father… Typically would come back looking worried and flop on his bed for a minute before winding down and being his usual self.
When you were 5 that was when the apprenticeship started happening. Nothing really like backbreaking work, the servants usually never had to do that. You followed in your parents footsteps and worked to be a personal servant. The Madrigals had servants for everything. Teachers, babysitters, clothes, cooking, training- anything! A passion could easily be followed. Like your mother and father, from a young age you really liked order. You liked cleaning, putting things in place, choosing outfits and hairstyles or decorating rooms to be more cozy.
When Mirabel came of age for her gift, and the ceremony was a disaster as she didn’t even get a gift, your mother and father seemed both distraught. Then, Bruno disappeared. Your father suddenly and immediately declined. He wouldn’t get up for his servant job from his bunk. He only spoke to you and your mother. You couldn’t even think of how many times he whispered “you know I love you, right?” to you and your mother every night. You knew he blamed himself for Bruno disappearing, perhaps. Maybe he thought he should’ve done a better job? You didn’t know. You were too young to know.
Your mother passed first, however. You remember her waking up really early that day and whispering “I love you mi luna” to your dad, kissing his cheek before leaving. You don’t know exactly what happened. You think maybe a stroke. But your mother passed while working, and it was so quick Juileta couldn’t get to her in time to heal her.
When your father heard the news he was devastated. He held you that night. When you woke up to get breakfast you came back to him cold, and lifeless, still in his bunk. You knew he died of a broken heart.
You wished to have a love like your parents. A marriage like them. But ever since they passed you have focused on working and being the most reliable servant in the Castillo. Because of that, at the ripe young age of 13 you were assigned to La Riena Alma’s biggest mess.
Mirabel Madrigal.
Her Queen Alma Madrigal found the gift-less grandchild to be a pain, invisible, not as special as the rest of the magical family. When she saw how hard you worked even at your age and everything that had happened she grew content with making you the girls permanent personal servant.
You didn’t complain.
By then she was 7. And Mirabel was the kindest, funniest, little girl you had ever met. You practically raised her. You studied with her after her educational servant would let her out for the day, you bathed her and made sure her hair was shiny, you cleaned her glasses and taught her how to step on every stone in the Castillo without putting a foot on a crack.
It broke your heart to see how badly Mirabel wanted to help the family even without a magical blessing like her siblings and cousins. You would go into town with her sometimes and watch the villagers practically ignore her. You hated it. But you tried everything in your power to make sure that Mirabel was happy, gift or no gift. She was special to you. A soul sister.
When you turned 18, because of how well you handled Mirabel, her majesty Queen Madrigal named you head of servants. Honored, and feeling privileged, you worked even harder. But despite everything you did it felt like the family tension with Mirabel and the hush hush about “ese desgraciado Bruno diablo” grew more and more.
Until the magic completely failed.
When Isabela Madrigal had a very unsuccessful, chaotic proposal from the village favored Guzman family son, Riena Alma ordered you to take all the servants away to a temporary housing arrangement at the church. She made sure to scream about how the magic is strong and the candle will never burn out.
It did.
The Castillo literally crumbled to the ground. Turned into a pile of rubble with barely known remnants of what was once a glorious castle. Mirabel disappeared. Horrified you spent hours with the Madrigals searching for her in this devastated state. The magic was gone, the blessing was no more, and it would seem only a miracle could fix the internal damage within the familia Madrigal and the hope of the villagers.
Thankfully. She did come back. On horseback, with her Abuela Alma and a figure no one ever expected to return.
Bruno.
Reunited with her family, Mirabel single handedly encouraged the entire Encanto to hope in miracles again. A month of hard work from everyone made the Castillo be rebuilt in the same glory it was before. And when Mirabel added the final touch of a doorknob, the miracle became restored. The bright golden lights and sparkles and swirls of colors that made their way up through the stone of the Castillo and rooted themselves in the ground under the whole village's feet was a sight to only behold in a state of awed wonder.
It was a day of celebration. You took Mirabel’s hands and danced with her in celebration, cheering, saying “I knew you could do it! You are so much more special than you realize!!” The new miracle bestowed another blessing on the land, one that united everyone in communication and a desire to be better and let go of the biases of the past and make a better future.
You blinked rapidly from your thoughts when your bunk mate called for you over her shoulder, “Hey! Líder sin miedo, c’mon! You’re going to be late moving into your ‘elite servant’ room!”
You laugh and sprint towards her and outside of the cramped sleeping quarters, “As long as I get top bunk this time!!!
~~~
Your joke earlier was meant as a joke and when you got to the castle everything went even more smoothly. Luckily, you did not need a bunk mate. Upon uniting with their respective Madrigal family members, each servant was either on the giving or receiving end of a magical hug.
Mirabel threw herself at you and you at her, both of you embracing in a fit of giggles, dancing from side to side in the tight hug. When the girl pulls away she pushes her glasses up her face and smiles at you as if she was still the humble, giftless girl she was before and not the restoration of a miracle.
Her humbleness still made her excitedly help you get settled into your quarters. They were nice. You had a room alone to yourself, with a queen sized bed and your own personal bathroom, bookcase, desk, wardrobe, and drawers. Mirabel didn’t shut up the whole time she helped you get moved in, excitedly talking about the magic and then moving on to the most surprising topic to most of the other servants.
Her tío Bruno.
She excitedly explained to you how he was “weird, but not like, weird weird like more like just kinda nutty weird not like super evil weird.” Which honestly made you chuckle a little.
“So master Bruno is awkward?”
“Yeah!” Mirabel lit up, still talking like a madman, which you loved. You really did like it when someone was excited to talk about something. It was sweet how passionate they would get. And you loved Mirabel, and so each nod and hum you gave in reply to her rambling was entirely genuine.
She explained how short Bruno was. How he lived in the abandoned dungeon and the walls of the Castillo, with his only friends being the rats in there. She even explained his embarrassing habit of using them to make his own little personal plays so he would be entertained all cooped up in there.
You giggled, only drawing on what your father’s experience was with him. He explained Bruno was always well meaning but prone to being really unlucky himself. He always tried to convince you as a young girl that Bruno wasn’t as scary as everyone made him seem.
Standing at 5’3, being 50 years old, and looking so skinny for his age- yup. You believed him and Mirabel well over the village folk and Camilo’s shallow seven foot interpretation of his uncle.
Mirabel went on to explain how much he loved the Encanto, the Madrigal monarchy itself, and each and every one of the family members. How he aided her in seeing the future to help save the miracle. She made sure to put a lot of emphasis on how he seemed to be the only adult she had ever met (“aside from present company, of course,” she made sure to add, winking at you) who treated her with respect. Like he understood her wishes and desires and demands and even if he was scared he knew what was for the best despite the wishes of the f amily to remain “fine”. After her emotional banter about him she got more into his appearance.
By then you were following behind her with your back straight, clasped hands held at your belly button height, resuming the perfect personal servant posture as you did before the collapse. Your tied up hair billowed behind you as you kept a strong, certain stride. You wanted to make sure you kept working that hard and pouring everything you had into this job even if the family seemed more lax. You were the Head of Servitude, after all.
“He has this crazy slouch. You know, like the kind you see little gárgolas standing in. Oh! And he always rings his hands or waves them around- real expressive with them, ya know?” Mirabel walked, talking to you over her shoulder, “He is all gangly like he doesn’t know where to put his limbs sometimes. You know what I mean- like a growing adolescente. He seems to not understand where to place his feet.” Mirabel walked the memorized path to her room, not stopping a moment during all of this, “When the castle was rebuilt he immediately went to bed. He wasn’t awake this morning if you didn’t see- in fact I bet he’s still in bed, durmiendo todo el dia, jeez, what an old man. Well I guess it’s not that big of a deal, he doesn’t really like using his gift anyways.”
When she stopped in front of her door she turned to you, a smile still on her happy little face. You chuckled, and spoke, “What a glowing review for your regio uncle.”
“I know right!” Mirabel giggled and moved her hips and legs so her brightly colored skirt swung back and forth. You stepped up next to her with a soft smile, making her turn towards her bedroom door and reach for the handle, “Now it’s your turn to help me move in!” She gave you a sly smile, knowing you would love this detail, “I need a lot of help decorating.”
Your eyes lit up in happiness, your face not revealing it in its entirety but a small smile did form on your lips.
You grabbed the door knob with her, “What are we waiting for then?!”
Mirabel laughed.
~~
The next week went on with the Madrigal family settling back into the Castillo with as much grace and understanding under the new miracle Mirabel had created. Unfortunately, because Mirabel was the creator of this miracle you found yourself not her personal servant as often anymore. It meant you had to resume the extra duties of head of servitude (which, admittedly, were not as fun as goofing around with Mirabel all day).
You usually wake her up most days. It meant a good morning routine and a great way to start off the day as she would sing while you fixed her hair and tended to her curls. Her eyes would scrunch behind her glasses as you scolded her for being such a “wiggly worm” and “oruga tonta”.
So often her Majesty the Queen Alma Madrigal would come into Mirabel’s room in the morning. You would have to take a step back as your mistress would run up to her abuela and kiss her cheek and ask her how she slept. It was clear that they had repaired their relationship and were eagerly growing it as the days went on.
“Might I borrow the room, miss?” Reina Alma had asked of you on the first morning back in the saddle.
You bowed, “Yes your su Majestad,” You kept your head down in proper etiquette with your hands placed together at your midsection, walking past the queen with kindness.
You were anxious. Mirabel was whisked away more and more by her grandmother, and while you were so excited for her you knew what it meant. Less time with you! What you saw as your little sister was finally growing up and it pained you a little. You didn’t know why. You practically felt like her second mom. You watched her grow from lost in the world to understanding her place.
Perhaps you wished to continue to have that life guidance for her. It gave you a lot of meaning.
When Mirabel was advising her grandmother, you busied yourself with the other tasks demanded of your head of servitude job. That included but was not limited to meal preparations, cleaning, making beds, washing laundry, explaining to Camilo that he has to understand that he cannot go into the female servants quarters even if he was “technically a female servant right now”, and finding meaningless ways to make even more spaces within the Castillo aesthetically appealing.
There were a few times in that week you would reorganize a room just for the heck of it to give you some purpose, and Castillo’s tiles and walls would shift, rattling and making a satisfying domino effect, pushing the furniture back into its proper places. This was often accompanied by a sigh, because you knew Castillo could tell you weren’t doing it for your job, but rather, for your own fulfillment.
It was getting boring. You loved your job, but it seemed without purpose. Mirabel was growing up and doing what she was born to do- be the real miracle.
You found yourself often going back to Julieta or Agustin during this time to assist them- Agustin because he was always clumsy and needed help with something, Julieta because you could never shake the feeling that she felt like “mom”. About halfway through the week, an interesting conversation happened in the kitchen.
“Agustin appreciates the attention you’ve been giving him despite the fact he already has three personal servants to keep him out of trouble,” Julieta smiled at you, her down turned brown eyes warm as you mixed dough, her hands busy kneading it.
A lot of servants helped her cook, and they all bustled around with ingredients and bowls and utensils of all kinds. The smell in the kitchen was amazing, absolutely estupendo.
“Of course la dama, anything to help the amazing Madrigals,” You replied, smiling at her work. What a unique gift. All she needed to do was lay her hands on the food at some point or another in the process and have it possess that healing power.
“You might need to get used to it,” Daniela, a kitchen maid, skidded past, only a few years older than you. She put a bowl into the oven, using the fireplace poker to make sure the heat stayed consistent on the food, “I’ve heard Mirabel and her Majesty Reina Alma are getting close. Almost like she is her heiress.”
You paused, shooting her a glance as Julieta chuckled and shook her head a little, “Mamá still has some kick in her and Mirabel is still only a child, una adolescente, she’s just 15. That won’t be happening soon.” She looked down, and you noticed despite her words she had a giant, proud, motherly smile on her face for her daughter. Always in her corner, just like you.
“Still,” María, the second kitchen maid and Julieta’s own personal servant, butted in, “Soon to become a royal advisor I’m sure of it.” The older woman set a cutting board down and began to carefully chop up some fresh cilantro, “Perhaps even her own personal asesora real, considering all the advice she's giving Her Reina already,” María sounded more logical, as if stating the simple facts. She glanced up to look between you and Julieta.
“Probably due to be on the royal court this week alone,” Daniela chirped, ever the dramatic gossiper.
“I’d hope,” You burst, finally speaking up. You beat the liquids and powder in the bowl in front of you with much unbridled vigor that it became mixed as one within seconds, touching the rim and coating one of your thumbs with the batter, “After all these years pushing her to the wayside they finally recognize her talent- oh no! No longer a pequeña oruga, eating up resources and an unpleasant sight. But no, now she's a una hermosa mariposa, glowing with a new miracle… As if she wasn’t already and wasn’t that always!”
The kitchen completely stills. Both maids and her majesty Juileta all stare at you and the paused image of your aggressively beaten batter and downcast gaze.
You take your hands off the bowl, lower your head so your scalp is visible to the royal Madrigal in the room, bowing with your hands clutched at your midsection, “I beg your pardon mi señora, I don’t know what got into me.”
Julieta gives you a small, sympathetic look. She nodded to her two other maids, and both resumed their duties as if not being bothered at all. She turned to you, putting a gentle, caring hand on your tense shoulder, “My dear, levanta la cabeza,” she put a hand under your chin and tilted it up to meet her eyes, “Let’s have a moment, shall we? To the pantry, let’s go.”
Julieta led you with a hand on your back in the most mothering way you could imagine, whispering, “Danos un momento, ladies,” to her maids as she took you into the pantry closet, closing the door behind her.
The smell of spices, fresh herbs, and dried meats and proteins hit your nose the moment you were inside. You turned to her majesty, scrambling, “I’m so sorry. I feel she is slipping away from me-”
“Shh! Shh…” Julieta gently calmed you, rubbing soothing circles on your back, “Honey, I would know how you’re feeling. I’m her mother. Mirabel deserves this, yes, but it feels so whip-lashed for sure.. One moment she comes crying to your side and now she is the heart of the Encanto, what keeps the magic breathing and alive..” she gazed proudly at nothing in particular, before blinking rapidly and looking back at you. “But I know you, and I know this is more than that.”
You sigh softly, “I just… if she moves on, gets all this power and fulfillment… mine will go. What will I do as my job? Will I ever be happy in my job again?” You shrug then turn your head to the side, not meeting Juileta’s gaze, “Would I have to resign as head of servitude? Leave my job?”
“Gracious mija! Calm down…” Julieta frantically grabbed one of your hands, making your head turn back to her.
She gave a worried look, lips pursed and one corner pushed up. Her warm chocolate colored eyes gazed at you for a moment, making sure you were calm and adding extra comfort by being warm and assuring, before she continued to speak, “We all love you here in the Castillo.” She squeezed your hand softly, “If you were to leave I’m sure the other servants and half of the Madrigal’s ourselves would riot-“
This caused you to laugh a little, making Julieta’s smile grow a little bigger. She went on, “You were destined for this, I held you in my hands as an adorable bebita right here in the walls of the El Castillo de Encanto, and you love it! Why leave?”
“Because I don’t know what’s going to happen and I feel out of control,” you breathed, rushing it out as you gazed at Julieta genuinely. Your brows were furrowed so tight in fear of the admittance and the vulnerability you were in at that moment. You knew your forehead wrinkles probably look ridiculous looking back on it.
Julieta stared at you a moment, her eyes almost looking confused before they lit with a spark of understanding, “Ah…” She brought you in for a hug, “Oh mija… do not carry that on your shoulders… you were a little girl… there was no way you could control anything…”
You knew she was talking about your mom and dad.
“You think… that’s where this started?”
“Yes bebita,” she pulled away from the hug with a small smile, “It was how your mother and father coped too. When they were stressed they ran to control.. rules and order. Sí, I think that’s it for you. You like to feel in control because you felt so out of control when that happened. I’m letting you know right now you can relax, honey. The Madrigal’s and Mí Sobregoneta Familia will always take care of you. Come, come, let’s finish cooking dinner-“
You nodded, trying to lean into her words. It made sense in your head but your stomach felt uneasy still. However, logically you knew her majesty was right. Julieta could read you as if you were one of her own daughters.
By the time dinner had been served your rapidly beating heart had quieted and your mind was at a little bit more ease.
However, your boredom and lack of personal servitude would soon come to a screeching halt.
~~
“I now announce you as his majesty Bruno Madrigal’s personal servant.”
Queen Alma Madrigal was smiling with her chin up, crown glistening, and back straight with each of her hands placed together in front of her.
You looked similar. A perfect straight back with knees slightly bent in a bow and knuckles white from gripping your hands together at your middle. However, you didn’t have a smile. You knew your eyes were big and face drained of color.
That morning started out how it usually did. How it always did. Waking Mirabel up and singing with her as you gently put oils into her curly hair. You decided to brush it back and keep the top of her hair in a cute little ponytail. The sun was warm, and her giggles were sweet, and she had no malicious intentions in her eyes behind those green glasses while she excitedly exclaimed she had a surprise for you.
When Reina Alma entered the room you bowed as you usually did, not a wrinkle in your skirt nor a stutter in your posture.  However, it was when they both opened their mouths and had you rise from your bow that things got very very off schedule.
More so, completely flipped around.
And now her majesty Queen Alma Madrigal has assigned you a whole new job after the one you had exclusively been in since you were a teenager.
“Oh geez please don’t look like that!” Mirabel walked over to you and grabbed your upper arms, making you look at her. She gave her usual dorky smile, “This is literally perfect for you!”
“Mí mijo,” Alma stepped forwards, whispering as she took a more casual stance with you- something so surprising since the Queen really, really cared about her royalty and the whole strict regime that went with it, “He’s… Struggling. He is always late to family dinner. He’s not getting up on time. He’s too nervous to use his gift and to go out into town. We have tried what we can to convince him, and he…” she stopped, swallowing, looking at her granddaughter.
The bright butterfly continued for her royal family member, “He refuses a personal servant. I think he’s just shy. Maybe embarrassed. And probably really scared.” She smiled at you softly, pushing up her glasses and continuing, “He really needs some order and routine right now.”
Okay, now she was clearly trying to cater to you.
Queen Alma stepped forward and stooped down a little to your eye level so you could see her scalp, placing her royal, magical hand on your shoulder and it made you feel so humbled. However, she herself humbled instead, looking into your eyes and meekly begging, “You did such a wonderful job making sure Mirabel grew up, despite my best efforts, knowing she was good enough and could be happy.” You relished a little bit in how the Queen openly admitted her faults when it came to Mirabel, and you relished even more in the small, soft, warm smile the two shared after her words. “You are so talented and wonderful at what you do. You clearly care for the El Castillo de Encanto, the magic itself, and our family. Extend your helping hand to me, once again, but allow me to ask for the betterment this time,” Alma moved to stand up straight, putting her hand under your chin with her fingers curled in so only the knuckle of her pointer finger gently nudged your chin upwards too, “Mí Brunito needs you. I believe your magic touch-“ her lips curled in a small smile making you smile too- “will break him out of his shell and let him relax in his new life. I want more than anything to let my son know he is valued by the Encanto, by our blessing, by our family, and more so, to be proud of himself the way I am now so much more proud of him.”
You let out a sigh exclusively from your nose, shutting your eyes for a moment.
Everything made sense. You had to let go of Mirabel. She is grown up now. You were being put in a position where you were needed most.
You thought of your dad. How he used to take care of Bruno. How he implored people to be kinder, how he saw his master and friends true nature and how it deeply distressed him when nobody would see it too.
You thought of what happened when Bruno disappeared.
You opened your eyes. You wanted to fulfill the legacy set before you by two people just as loving and passionate as you were.
You have a small nod, looking between both of the Madrigals, “I would be honored to take his majesty Bruno Madrigal as my master.”
Both of them smiled. Soon, there were four arms wrapped around you in a hug.
In the distance you heard the faint noise of sand in the wind.
Fair warning, future chapters will have smut. 18+ I will tag it when it's appropriate Correct me on any spellings, bad grammar, and ESPECIALLY on poor translation. Thoughts? Feelings? If you have none: what kind of royal would *you* be?

Miscommunication (Julieta x Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
Take note that I do not speak fluent Spanish so if I’ve butchered a word or phrase (Google Translate) I apologize. Please let me know so I can correct it. I also did not make the gif.
This will be part one of maybe eight or nine parts if there is interest in me posting the rest. I’ll update once I figure out how I want to divide it up. I hope you all enjoy and don’t tear it apart too much!
Part 2
Take note: Y/N is eighteen and the triplets are twenty.
Shout out to @zafirosreverie who’s stories are the inspiration behind mine!
“Feliz Cumpleaños mi corazón!”
You looked up from your spot at the kitchen counter. You were finishing up the labels on the jars of jam you and your mother would be taking to the marketplace to sell.
“Gracias mamá.” You replied with a smile and went back to your task. Today was your eighteenth birthday and your mother had agreed to let you have the house tonight for a sleepover with your friends. She’d be spending the night with her boyfriend at his house.
“Are you excited for your friends to come tonight?” Your mother asked as you finished your final label.
“Sí it should be a fun night.” You said, your smile widening at the thought. All week you had been practically shaking with excitement at the thought of your birthday.
“And what time will the Madrigal’s arrive?”
“Around 5:30pm, when they finish their chores.” You replied and packed the final jar into the crate.
You pulled your dark hair out of its ponytail and shook your curls back into place. You hated having your hair pulled back, but it did make doing your job a lot easier. You wiped some remaining jam onto the apron wrapped around your waist before removing it and hanging it back up in its spot, revealing your typical sage colored dress.
The Madrigal triplets were your dearest friends. You had known them for practically your whole life and you were one of the few that didn’t try to use them for their gifts.
You never asked Bruno, the youngest triplet, for visions. Instead you asked for new episodes of his rat telenovelas. Bruno had the heart of a true artist. You never thought of him as a bad omen or this scary villain lurking around the village and you were definitely the first friend he had outside of his sisters. He was the most soft spoken, timid person you had ever met and you hoped he never changed.
You always encouraged Pepa, the middle triplet, to feel what she was feeling. You didn’t mind getting soaked by her rainstorms or whipped up by her tornadoes. You were the first person to suggest that instead of crying for sad reasons to water the crops, she should instead laugh so hard that she cried. The red head seemed happier with the chore ever since.
What could be said about Julieta, the eldest triplet, other than she was the kindest soul you knew. Anytime you injured yourself, even just a simple scrape, you had to assure the eldest you were fine. She often had to force you to take food from her, even for serious injuries, because you wanted her to always know that you valued her more than her gift. Other than yourself and her family, you couldn’t say for sure if anyone saw the value Julieta the girl had and not Julieta the healer.
You loved the triplets and they loved you. It was as it had always been and always would be.
“Well mi vida let us get going. These won’t sell themselves.” Your mother said and with a nod you lifted the crate and followed your mother out into the morning air.
—-
“Y/N! Are you as excited for tonight as I am?!” You looked up to see Pepa waving wildly at you and rushing to your family’s stall. By the look of her wet clothes she must have just finished her chore of watering the crops. It was midday by now and the sun was high in the sky, a reflection of the red head's current mood.
“Hola Pepa! Sí I can’t wait for tonight!” You said, your smile widening.
“I bet you’re excited to see a certain someone in her nightgown.” Pepa said quietly, and her smirk only grew when she saw how red your face turned.
“Pepa!” You practically shrieked and grabbed at the girl, earning a look from her mother. You shot her a nervous smile and forcefully turned Pepa away from your mothers gaze.
“You are going to be the death of me!” You said in hushed tones. It took a lot of convincing to get both your mother and Señora Madrigal to agree to let the triplets spend the night at your house and Pepa was going to ruin it in one comment.
No matter how close you were to the triplets, having the freshly minted twenty year olds spend the night, especially with Bruno, had been a task. Both mothers were concerned with you and Bruno being in a room together at night. Little did either of them know that your affections were for a different triplet. But with promises of Bruno sleeping in another room you had received both blessings for your little party.
Pepa laughed and hugged you close with her free arm.
“You are much too easy to frazzle.” She whispered before pulling back and laughing again at your red face.
It was no secret to Pepa (or Bruno for that matter) that you had a certain fondness for the eldest triplet. You had confined in Pepa your feelings for her sister and she watched as you lived with your longing for years.
Pepa had told you, begged you, countless times to confess to Julieta, but your fear of losing her friendship outweighed the chance she might return your feelings.
“Y/N come here for a moment.” You looked back at your mother before giving Pepa a look to control her snickering before moving to your mother.
“Here.” Your mother extended to you a small wrapped package. Taking it you looked up at your mother who was grinning ear to ear before you finally tore open the paper.
“Mamá…” the words died on your lips. In the box lay a locket, and upon closer inspection there was a picture of you, your father, and her from your childhood nestled inside. Your father had died when you were eleven after battling illness for a long time.
“He would be so proud of the woman you have grown to become.” Your mother said, putting her hands on your shoulders. Pepa had creeped closer to see what you had received and smiled at the gift.
“Now you can have a little part of him close to your heart at all times.” Your mother said and wiped away the loan tear that ran down your cheek.
“I’ll treasure it always.” You said and turned around so your mother could clasp it around your neck.
“Now run along and enjoy your birthday.”
“But mamá the day isn’t over yet.”
“Y/N I think I can handle running our stall by myself for a few hours.” Your mother rolled her eyes at you. “Think of it as another birthday present.” She said giving you a kiss on your cheek.
You glanced at Pepa and then back at her.
“Are you sure?”
“Sal de aquí!” Your mother said as she shooed you out of the stall.
“Gracias!” You called out before linking your arm with Pepa’s and running off with the girl. Your mother smiled fondly as the laughter of the two of you faded away.
—-
Julieta was having a rotten week. Every morning she was up at 3:30am to begin preparing food for the village and breakfast for her family. She spent no more than two minutes scarfing down her breakfast with her family before she was back in the kitchen finishing up for the village before she was scurrying out the door.
This week so many people had come complaining to her about what she made. Someone always hated its flavor, someone had an allergy she didn’t account for, someone dropped it and needed another. She wasn’t used to days, let alone weeks, like this. The people should just be happy receiving life saving food for free and quit complaining. If she was more rebellious like her sister maybe she’d boycott one day and see what would happen.
As she passed out food her mind drifted to the conversation she had with her mother the other night while washing the dishes.
“Julieta, remember you are meeting that boy from the city for dinner Friday night.”
“Yes mamá I remember.” She said rinsing the glass of soap.
Ever since she and her siblings turned eighteen she had been trying to find matches for her children. Julieta simply smiled and went along with her mothers notions but deep down she knew her mother would never pick the one person she could see herself with. Her mind began to drift to a pair of soft brown eyes and dark curls.
“Do you understand mi vida?”
Julieta blinked back to reality and looked at her mother, she missed everything she just said.
“Sí” she replied and placed the glass on the shelf. Alma sighed.
“His name is Agustín and you’ll meet him at Señora Guzman’s restaurant at 5:00pm tomorrow. If all goes well we might begin to plan a wedding!” Alma said and clasped her hands together. Julieta turned away from her mother, not daring to say anything.
“Señorita Madrigal are you alright?” A soft voice awoke her from her thoughts. A young man stood in front of her.
“Sí I’m okay. Just drifted off.” Julieta said as she offered the man an arepa. She didn’t recognize him but his wrist was twisted in a terrible way.
“What happened, if you don’t mind me asking?”
“Oh I was helping my abuelo paint the side of the house when I slipped off the ladder.” He said with a chuckle.
“Goodness! You must be more careful!” Julieta said.
“I guess that’s what the city boy gets for trying to help.” The man chuckled. Julieta must have made a face when he said the city because he chuckled again.
“I’m Agustín, I believe we are meeting for dinner tonight.” He said with a smile. Julieta visibly paled.
“Lo siento, yes we are! I just didn’t expect to meet you in my line.” She nervously said, taking note of the growing line, at this rate she’d be meeting no one for anything.
“I’ll let you be, it seems you have a lot of customers. I look forward to tonight.” He said, giving her one last smile before he headed on his way. He seemed nice enough, like a gentleman, but if she didn’t feel a spark now she doubted she would later, but she’d do her duty to her mother and go to dinner. What’s the worst that could happen?

Mi Anhelo Por Ti

julieta madrigal x fem!reader
tw: topics and scenes of physical abuse
the sounds of wet mud and breaking twigs beneath your feet seemed to be muted by your increased heartbeat. the stinging pain that arose in your ankles only increased, but that didn’t stop you from running how you have been for almost a day. it looked like you just came from war. dirt covered your body along with dried blood and bruises.
“i have to keep going,” you thought to yourself.
you were unfamiliar with your surroundings and extremely tired. the heavy bag you carried only added to the exhaustion. this is the moment you’ve been waiting for. the second you stepped out of that house had felt like a weight was lifted off of your chest. your now ex-husband would miss you, but you sure as hell wouldn’t miss him.
you saw a large structure in the distance between the trees with lights. where there’s lights, there’s people, where there’s people, there’s-
“a town?”
you began to slow down in an attempt to catch your breath. the sun had been almost fully submerged by the darkness and you knew you couldn’t stay the night in the forest again. thankfully, the structure you saw wasn’t too far of a walk.
as you exited the forest, you were welcomed by many bright lights and colorful buildings. the people seemed to be busy with their own thing, some selling food and clothes. the aroma of arepas and various other foods filled your nose. you were so caught up in running you didn’t realize you were hungry.
then you realized all of it. the pain in your ankles, the blood running down from your lip down your neck, the screaming headache and urge to pass out. and that’s exactly what happened. you’d been running for so long nonstop without any source of energy- of course you’d pass out.
———————————————————————
“ay, isa! go check if the arepas are done warming up.”
you’d woken up to a sort of warmth and someone touching you. your eyes could hardly open, but when they did the first thing you saw was a beautiful woman above you. she seemed surprised that you’d woken up but continued what she was doing.
you winced as the warm, damp cloth gently rubbed against your wounds. your bruises ached and you felt sick. the other seemed worried from the wincing and put down the cloth.
“are you okay, hon?”
“where am i?”
noticing you were laid on a bed, you sat up carefully and looked around. the room was painted with little animals and the alphabet, along with what seemed to be different types of fabric laying around. a couple candles were lit on a nightstand by the door to give some light.
“i suppose you deserve an explanation. this town is Encanto. i’m julieta madrigal, and you’re in the madrigal house.”
a confused expression formed on your face.
“are.. you not from here?”
“lo siento, no. i arrived from a couple towns over. i’m y/n y/l/n.”
the older woman appeared to be surprised. she took a guess what was town you were talking about and had no idea why you would leave. she realized it wasn’t exactly her place to know, and then someone else walked into the room.
an obvious younger girl who looked to be in her twenties. she carried a plate with multiple arepas and handed it to julieta.
“thank you isa.”
“no problem, mama.”
the girl examined you with an intrigued expression on her face. she was dressed with a flower dress and her hair was beautifully done. she left the room to let her mother continue what she was doing with a sigh.
“who was that?”
“that’s my daughter, isabela. she’s actually the one who found you lying on the road.”
you suddenly remembered what had happened. you ran away from..him, and ended up here in Encanto. it was such a tiring journey due to all the running and adrenaline from escaping.
your stomach made several noises as you held it in embarrassment. julieta formed a smile and let out a slight chuckle, putting an arepa up to your lips.
“here, eat it.”
you took a bite and a burst of flavor entered you mouth. you quickly finished the arepa as you watched your several wounds heal. what was this? magic? it was something you didn’t know about due to being closed off for so long. you didn’t question it since the relief of feeling better washed over you.
you suddenly took the woman’s hand in yours which caused her eyes to widen a bit, a soft pink blush covered her cheeks.
“gracias. i really appreciate your kindness.”
“ah, it’s nothing. i do this on the daily.”
a deep voice called julieta’s name. it sounded angered and stern, causing her to jump. with her hand still attached to yours she squeezed it gently. it was a habit of hers when nervous.
“i’m sorry- i’ve got a few things to take care of tonight. mama said earlier you’re able to stay the night and we’ll continue with what to do in the morning.”
she got up, brushing off her dress. you took this as an opportunity to examine her better. she had glowing tan-skin and her figure was fairly average. you could tell she was shorter than most and the way she walked was elegant. she made her way to the door and spoke before closing it.
“welcome to encanto.”
the door closed and you were left on the bed with the few arepas still on the plate. you quickly finished them as you let out a sigh laying back down. you were very tired and relieved to finally feel a bed beneath you. you closed your eyes and began to fall asleep.

Can you write mirabel or isabella comforting the reader through a panic attack?
The Brightest Star - Mirabel Madrigal x fem reader
Tumblr media
First of all thanks for the request, anon. Hope I got it the way you wanted.
summary: The dinner with your girlfriend and your parents doesn't work out the way you would have wanted it to.
warnings: panic attack, homophobia
word count: 1.767

Reblogging, comments and requests are always appreciated <3 If you like the story/my writing, please don't be shy to say it via comments or asks! It takes you a few seconds and might make my day. It's the best appreciation you can show to a writer you like.
----------
“I still don't think this is a good idea”, I voiced my concern.
“Your parents already know we're in a relationship. I really want to meet them”, Mirabel countered.
“Just because they know doesn't mean they approve. The only reason they haven't disowned me is that you're a Madrigal”, I assumed.
“Okay. Let's make a deal. Since you got to meet my whole chaotic family with all it's issues especially toward me, I get to meet your family as well. One dinner. If it doesn't work out, I will never bother you with it again”, she suggested.
“Fine”, I agreed with a defeated sigh. “But don't blame me if it turns out horrific.”
“Can't imagine the people who raised such an incredible girl to be awful”, she noted and I took her hand with a smile as we continued walking through town.
My mind was already bombarding me with all the worst-case-scenarios of the upcoming dinner.
First I would have to ask my parents which was bad enough. But the imagination of sitting with them through a whole meal … I had no idea how to survive this.
Most likely Mirabel would be the answer. She usually was. There was a reason why I was spending basically all my time either with her or her family who was way more supporting than mine.
How could I not compare her family to mine and yearn to marry into hers?
“Hey, it's going to be alright”, Mirabel snapped me out of my anxious thoughts. “I'll be with you all the way. We can still escape to my house at anytime, okay?”
I nodded with a hesitant smile. My thoughts however were centered around the dinner for the rest of the day.
When I returned home after a great evening at Casita, the silence hit me like a rock.
The Madrigal's were so loud and lively that it often drowned out my doubts. They had immediately integrated me and made me feel at home.
I wanted the same for Mirabel. She deserved only the best in my eyes. But I knew I could not offer her what she wished for.
“Mom?”, I called out silently.
My dad was usually asleep at this time, but mom liked staying up late.
“I'm in the living room”, she replied quietly.
I made my way over to her and tried to gather the courage to talk with her about the dinner.
“What's up, dear? Is everything alright?”, she wondered.
My parents were absolutely toxic. On the one hand they were loving and supporting. But on the other hand they made me feel worthless whenever I did not meet their expectations. I had wished more than once that they could just decide if they wanted to love or hate me. That would make it easier.
“Mirabel would like to come over for dinner sometime.” I uttered the words before I could change my mind.
“Oh … yeah, of course she can come over. How about tomorrow?”, she questioned.
I could not interpret her tone. It did not sound disgusted or disapproving, just kind of neutral if that was possible.
“Yeah, tomorrow sounds fine”, I agreed surprised.
I had not expected this conversation to be so easy. Maybe Mirabel was right and it was time. There was a slight chance that I could help them understand why I loved Mirabel when they met her. Who could not love her?
On the next morning I went over to Casita to tell Mirabel the news.
Casita opened the doors for me when I arrived and I was immediately welcomed by loud chaos.
“Hey, (f/n)”, Camilo greeted me while running from an angry looking Isabela.
“Hey”, I greeted him back laughing.
“Good morning, (f/n). Had any breakfast yet?”, Julieta inquired.
“Um … no. But it's fine”, I brushed it off.
Julieta simply smiled at me and handed me an Arepa.
“Thanks”, I shot back with a grateful and slightly abashed smile. “Do you know where Mirabel is?”
“In the kitchen”, she informed me.
I thanked her again before heading in the said direction.
Mirabel appeared to be busy mixing several ingredients together.
“Hey, Mira”, I greeted her with a peck to her cheek. “What are you doing?”
“Experimenting with different dips for the Arepas. Wanna try?”
Of course I did. Some were delicious, while others were more than questionable.
“Mom invited us over for dinner today”, I proposed.
“Seriously? How did it go?”, she asked me excited.
“Pretty well, I guess. But that can change quickly”, I reminded both of us.
“Which dip do you like the most? We can make more of it and bring it as a guest present. Well … I can bring it as a guest present”, Mirabel considered.
“How can you be so optimistic?”
“I need the positive energy for both of us in this matter, right? So I will deliver it”, she declared confidently.
Mirabel was bright and happy, standing up to face every obstacle in her way with a smile. I still could not understand how she had ended up with me out of all people. But I was definitely grateful for it, no matter what my parents thought about it.
Mirabel and I improved the recipe and prepared the dip, putting it in the fridge.
Then she tried to distract me, which partly worked. But my anxiety was always there.
“I'm here. You're not dealing with anything alone”, Mirabel reassured me on the way to my house.
One of her hands was holding mine, while the other carried the dip.
“Good evening. It's nice to finally meet you”, mom welcomed us at the front door.
It was strange honestly. Like I was visiting my parents after moving out, although I was only sixteen.
“Good evening. I've really been looking forward to this dinner. I tried out a new dip recipe and thought maybe you would like to try it”, Mirabel explained and handed my mom the box.
“Thank you”, mom replied with a smile.
It was extremely polite. Nothing compared to my time with the Madrigal's who had not attempted to impress me and had done it anyway.
But so far it could be worse.
To my surprise it was great for a while. My parents asked questions about Mirabel's family which my girlfriend happily answered.
“You raised a great daughter by the way. My family loves her almost as much as I do”, Mirabel proclaimed casually, placing her hand on mine.
Her gesture made me smile. Until I noticed the look on my parents' faces.
“We thought that as well. But it seems we made a big mistake at some part of her life. I wish we just knew what it was”, dad alluded while eyeing Mirabel's and my hand.
“I'm still not sure if we ruined her or if it's just in her nature”, my mom added.
Mirabel was obviously shocked at their statements.
“Don't worry. It's in my nature. Nothing anyone could or could have changed”, I hissed.
“So we're the ones to blame after all if it's in your genetics. I can't believe we passed on such a flaw”, my mom remarked.
“It's not a flaw”, Mirabel interjected.
But before she could continue, my mom started talking again: “Sorry if we upset you, dear. We're not judging you or your sexuality. It's none of our business what you do with your life. We just don't want our daughter to be a dyke.”
“I think we should go”, Mirabel announced, squeezing my hand.
“What? Why? Please stay a little longer”, my mom requested.
“(f/n) doesn't deserve the way you're treating her. Come on! Let's go!”, my girlfriend encouraged me and helped me stand up.
My dad's hand wrapped around my wrist. “You're free to go whenever you want, but our daughter stays”, he demanded.
“Are you sure you want to oppose my family?”, Mirabel threatened him.
Reluctantly he let go.
Mirabel quickly led me to the border of the town to get somewhere quiet.
“Hey, are you okay?”, she worried.
Her voice sounded muffled to me due to the ringing sound in my ears.
It felt like I could barely breathe and at the same time like my heart was about to jump out of my chest.
I desperately wanted to get out of this state.
My fingernails buried themselves in my hand. But even the slight pain did not help.
“(f/n), I think you're having a panic attack.”
It was difficult to process her words.
“Let's remove your shoes, okay?”
She helped me out of my shoes.
I could feel the soft grass against my feet. It actually did have a calming effect.
“What did we do on our first date?”, she asked me.
I stayed silent. Speaking seemed impossible right now. I could not grasp a clear thought.
“You can do it, (f/n). What did we do on our first date?”, she repeated.
“We went hiking”, I recalled panting.
“Exactly. What else?”
“We had a picnic on top of the mountain. The landscape was stunning, but I could barely take my eyes off of you. We stayed there until the stars appeared and shared our first kiss.”
“Yes, we did”, Mirabel confirmed with a smile. “Now again. What did we do on our first date?”
“But I just told you”, I protested still out of breath.
“Just do it.”
“We went hiking. We had a picnic on top of the mountain. The landscape was stunning, but I only had eyes for you. We shared our first kiss under the stars.”
“Again.”
I had to repeat the story several times before Mirabel finally allowed me to stop.
“Feeling better?”, she wondered.
“Actually I do. Thanks. But how did you know how to react?”
“My sisters had their fair share of panic attacks before. Your parents aren't the only ones with high expectations”, she enlightened me. “But you were right. Maybe we shouldn't have had that dinner.”
“No, it's fine. I feel a sense of freedom now that it's over. Thanks for supporting me, Mira.”
She pulled me into a tight hug making me feel loved after this horrible family incident.
We spent the rest of the evening cuddling on the grass and waiting for the stars to shine again.

—-///—-
You could feel her eyes flick up and burn into you and then you heard a giggle escape her lips.
But you couldn't look back at her. Not when she was doing this to you. Not when she was touching you in this sinful way and making you cry her name weakly.
How could such a quiet polite young woman make you whimper like how you were now? Many, including yourself for a time, thought of Julieta as a sweet innocent girl with no unholy thoughts and only a goal to heal and help as many people as possible.
But how wrong you all were.
Imagine the look on the townspeople if they could see you now with Julieta Madrigal, everyone's holy healer and saviour, fucking you with her long delicate fingers.
"Does my hermosa girl like that?" She grinned.
You whined again.
"Does she like being bend over with my fingers deep inside of her pequeña perfecta la coño?"
I moaned at her dirty words, "Julieta!"
"Aw.." She cooed at you and thrusted her fingers in deeper, "Una pequeña puta..."
More sinful noises fell out of your mouth. You felt so filthy; you were having very tender sex with a woman well out of your league and she won't stop whispering dirty things into your ear.
But it felt so dam good.
You felt although you was slowly falling down slowly, into the deep pleasure Julieta was providing you with.
It felt amazing. Like bliss.
You never wanted her fingers to leave you, so you tried your hardest to squeeze your thighs close together to prevent the sinful Angel from pulling away.
But your thighs were shaking so much from the pleasure, you couldn't do anything. Which made it easy for her to hold your legs open so she could do whatever she wanted to you.
Julieta owned you. And your pussy.
You had felt slightly embarrassed earlier about being so exposed and vulnerable to someone but you had instantly forgotten those self-doubting thoughts as soon as Julieta's fingers entered you.
"Mi amor..?"
A sudden change in her tone brought you back up to reality. She had went from playful dirty tease to the usual soft and gentle Julieta everyone knew again. The change didn't scare you, but it made me slightly nervous as you knew she now wanted something from you.
Julieta leaned up from behind of you and gently used your hair to pull your head and force you to look straight forward. You now saw and remembered the mirror that stood across from the bed.
You could see yourself looking back at you and Julieta behind you in the mirror. You thought you looked...unflattering, to say the least. With your tight braids now out and an absolute mess in between Julieta's fingers, dry tears on both your cheeks, a red face that made you look as if you had been drinking and salvia (that was both yours and Julieta's) smeared across your mouth.
'Mierda.' You thought, 'She had done that much to me? How long had we been doing this for? I thought it had only been a few minutes but now I really think about it, it been at least an hour. Possibly two.'
"Look at how beautiful you are, Preciosa!" Her laughter filled the room and you sighed in response.
"I want you to watch your pretty face while I lick your pussy."
There it was. The command you was waiting for. It made your cheeks burn more and your legs shake again.
Julieta then let go of your hair and moved back down to ruin you again. This time with her tongue. You quickly tended up and gasped, but your eyes didn't leave the mirror, as you felt her slippery wet member enter your wet throbbing cunt.
You whispered, "Oh God Julieta, you're going to make me see God..."

"I'm not coming to dinner tonight."
Bruno Madrigal x Chubby!Fem!Reader
Request from @bloody-bunni666
MINORS DNI!!!! 18+ ONLY!!!!
Word Count: 1.5k
Warnings: Sliiiiiiight breeding kink. Like if you squint lmao. This is very SFW though, nothing graphic.
A/N: This is literally the first fic I’ve ever posted on tumblr. Please be nice >.<
Bruno was sweating bullets, tugging at the collar of his brown shirt as he descended the steps from his tower. It was almost dinner time for the Madrigals, and he was about to announce his absence from the daily family event.
He had only recently rejoined his family after years of isolation, years of sitting in the walls of La Casita watching his sisters raise their children and his mother growing older. At last, he was finally welcomed back and as he entered the dining room, he saw a plate with his name on it already set in front of his seat.
Dolores was already seated, laughing as she watched Camilo shifting his physical form between himself and Alma for her amusement. Julieta and Mirabel were running frantically between the kitchen and the dining room, bringing with them a new plate or pan or bowl with the family’s dinner. Bruno giggled to himself, admiring how his niblings had grown, taking after his sisters’ respective quirky natures. It was going to be hard to excuse himself from dinner.
Alma walked in carrying Bruno’s favorite tamales, followed by his brothers-in-law. Now was as good a time as any.
“Mama,” Bruno said just above a whisper.
“Hm?’ she said, setting down her baking dish without looking up.
Bruno took a breath and let it out.
“I’m not coming to dinner tonight.”
The entire room stopped what they were doing and stared at Bruno wide-eyed. All except for Félix and Dolores, who smiled at each other with a knowing look.
“What?” Alma asked in complete shock.
“I’m not joining the family for dinner tonight. I, uh, I have plans – dinner plans – with someone,” he replied, punctuating his sentence with a nervous laugh.
Alma looked taken aback. She loved and missed her son dearly, despite years of refusing to say his name. She unsuccessfully tried to hide her disappointment while fiddling with the placement of her cutlery.
“I see,” she said, “and who will you be joining for dinner this evening?”
Bruno was flustered and struggled to answer. Félix, however, was happy to help.
“He’s going on a date with the thick mamí that lives next to the bakery.”
The room erupted into whistles and teasing bouts of “Oyeee!” while Bruno tried to hide his face in his ruana.
“Es el tomando mi pelo? I didn’t hear about that!” chimed Dolores. She’s lying, of course; she hears everything.
Alma was unamused. She sat down in her chair and magically whisked Bruno’s chair away from the table with a flick of her wrist. The teasing banter settled down and Bruno came out from his poncho.
“You will be missed, mi hijo,” she said.
“Sorry, mama,” Bruno said.
***
Bruno made his way to your house, so nervous that he forgot to ask Isabela to make a bouquet for you. He didn’t want to show up empty-handed, so he ran into the bakery and got some pandebono, hoping it meshed well with whatever you were cooking.
He finally arrived at your door and knocked three times, whispering to himself, “Knock, knock, knock on wood.”
You answered the door wearing a flour-dusted apron that you felt did not flatter your body. You stared wide-eyed at your crush who was smiling and nervously holding up a bag of bread.
“Bruno!” you blurted out. “I wasn’t expecting you – uh, how are you?” You took the bread from his hands.
Bruno frowned. Did you forget about their date?
He looked down to meet your eyes and mustered up the courage to speak.
“I’m good, yeah, yeah, I’m good. It’s just we had a da- I mean, you invited me to dinner. It’s seven o’clock, haha.” He wanted to curl up and die.
“Oh, Bruno,” you said with a small laugh, “dinner’s tomorrow. I’m preparing everything now.”
Bruno couldn’t possibly be redder. He didn’t know what to say.
Above, the clouds rapidly began to cover the sun and sky, a few drops beginning to fall.
“Oh, it’s raining! Hurry, come inside!” you said, pulling Bruno in by his free hand. He nearly tumbled over, but you were quick to catch his scrawny frame with your broader body. You helped him get to his feet, smiling ear to ear at his embarrassed face.
You turned to grab some water and a plate for him since he’d already made the trip over here.
He couldn’t help but admire how beautiful you looked, despite your messy hair and disheveled clothing. Your apron was tied tight around your plump figure and Bruno could see every roll and curve of your body. He knew he probably shouldn’t be undressing you with his eyes right in front of you, but you just looked so delectable and somehow, so motherly.
“She would be such a good mamí,” he thought, quickly shaking the notion from his head so you wouldn’t notice him lusting after you.
You turned around again to face Bruno and nudged your head to the side, signally him to follow you. You led him to your small dining area and placed down a plate of the bread he brought with a glass of water.
“I’m sorry I don’t have much for you now,” you said bashfully.
“No, no! My fault…I probably should’ve looked at a calendar, ha,” said Bruno.
“Well regardless, I’m glad for the company,” you said smiling. You walked back to the kitchen to continue getting ready for the large dinner you planned for the both of you. Lord knows that poor boy needs to eat.
“How is tu familia, Bruno?” you called from the kitchen.
In the seconds since you left him, he had stuffed two balls of bread in his mouth and was working on a third. He panicked for a moment trying to respond you, causing him to choke.
“Bruno?” you called out to him again. There was no answer.
You wiped your hands clean and rounded to corner to check on him and saw as he beat his chest with a closed fist. His face was beginning to turn blue, and his eyes could practically pop out of his head from how wide they were.
You ran to his side, unsure of how to help. You tried to give him a rough couple of pats on his back, but he continued to choke. He looked so scared, and you began to cry from the fear of losing him.
“What do I do, what do I do?” you tried to ask him.
Bruno grabbed at your hands, turned around, and drew your arms around his waist so that his back was flush against your torso. He tried to cross your hands over his stomach, and you quickly got the message. You began squeezing his tiny body in short spurts, eventually dislodging the bread from his throat.
Bruno fell to his hands and knees, coughing and struggling to breathe. You took the glass of water from the table and knelt next to him, offering the cup. He put a hand up, letting you know that he was okay, and pulled himself up on feet using the table for leverage.
He swayed and brought a hand up to touch his head.
“Ay, I’m dizzy,” he said.
You snaked your arm around his and led him to your bedroom to let him rest.
***
Around two hours later, when you had finished preparations for tomorrow’s meal, you took off your apron and went back to your room to check on Bruno. He was lying awake and had the hood of his ruana up, covering the majority of his face.
You gently rapped on your open bedroom door, leaning against the doorframe.
“Knock, knock,” you said.
Bruno pulled his hood further over his face and mumbled a soft, “I’m sorry,” into the fabric.
You walked into the room and joined him on the bed, awkwardly sliding your body behind him, and wrapping an arm around his waist.
“You know you have nothing to be sorry for, right? Accidents happen, amor,” you whispered to him.
“Bruno is stupid,” he said.
You huffed a small laugh and slid your fingers up and down his chest.
“Why is Bruno stupid, Hernando?” You played along with his little act. Bruno loved to bring out Hernando when he was ashamed.
“He ruins everything,” he responded.
“Bruno didn’t ruin anything. Like I said, accidents happen,” you said, sighing a little. “I was so worried about you.”
You could feel Bruno’s heart thumping hard from under his clothes. You knew Bruno liked you, but you were waiting until he was comfortable enough around you to make your move. You planned to confess your feelings to him at dinner.
“Did I ruin it?” Bruno asked all of sudden. You looked at him confused.
“Ruin what, Hernando?”
Bruno pulled off his hood and sighed.
“Did I ruin my chance with you?”
You could cry, he was so sweet.
“No, but you sure know how to keep a girl waiting, amor.”
Bruno shuffled around to face you without you having to move the arm that encircled his waist. He was trying to be brave for you.
“I think you’re beautiful, (y/n),” he said.
You couldn’t think of anything to do or say but kiss him. His lips were soft, warm, and plush against yours. You closed your eyes tight, enjoying the passion between you two, but you could tell Bruno’s eyes were wide open from the green light somehow penetrating your eyelids.
You pulled back, opening your eyes as the green light vanished from his.
“I think you’re beautiful too.”

What it feels like ㅡ carlos m.
Tumblr media
pairing: carlos madrigal x fem reader
genre: fluff
tags: oneshot, flirty reader, cold and oblivious carlos, mutual pining, bickering, arguing, making out, not proof read
summary: you loved to make fun of carlos madrigal who always had a stoic face, and you were continuously teasing and pranking him to get his attention. every time you see him, you always made it your goal to annoy him. on one fine day, he tries to talk back and it leads to something else you finally had been waiting for.
Tumblr media
"I don't know, Carlos Madrigal just seems interesting to me." You smirked, taking a sip of coffee as you trailed off talking about Mirabel's cousin who was just outside the window tending to his chores. Beside you was Mirabel who had a questioning look on her face.
"You're peculiar Y/N. I always thought you'd be interested in Camilo instead, your energy matches his." Mirabel trailed off, eyes on Carlos who was walking around the village. Looking at her, you shrugged your shoulders, "Yeahh, no. Sometimes he's too much for me to handle AND he has eyes on the baker's daughter and I'm sneakily setting them up."
"And how are you gonna do that?" You put down your mug of coffee on the table as you laughed and shook your head. You had a mischievous grin that Mirabel just stared at blankly.
"I stole Tia Julieta's banana bread recipe that Camilo likes so that he goes to her shop everyday to buy hers instead." Mirabel gasped at your plan. "Oh, you are sneaky, does any of them know?"
You smirked and wiggled your eyebrows, a scoff exiting your lips. "Ugh, do you really have to ask? I'm like the sneakiest pranker after Camilo that not even he can figure it out."
An eruption of laughter filled the kitchen of Casita as you two shared stories about pranks and jokes around the Encanto. Early in the morning, you always felt giddy when you enter the Casita. Not because of the coffee, but because it only served as an excuse for you to see the boy in maroon ruana that somehow caught your attention for no reason.
Speaking of the devil, he walked in to a cult-like setting in the kitchen, only hearing squeals and wheezes of laughter by you and Mirabel. A questioned look was on his face. Once you noticed his presence, you immediately put a smirk when you approached him slowly.
"Hola, mi amor" You flirted, finger stroking his arm while he gives you a disgusted look. Mirabel kept laughing at Carlos who stood still.
Noticing his frozen state, you patted the kitchen island and as commanded, Casita shifted its tiles to bring a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
You nudged Carlos' shoulder. "I made coffee for you, querido, hope you like it." Carlos glanced at the cup before muttering a 'thank you' and dashing out the door.
You can only let out a soft smile when he finally turned his back at you. Not a grimace or a smirk, but an actual smile of adoration. Mirabel caught up to you and put a hand on your shoulder. "He would have been fun if he only flirted back."
"It takes time, Mira" You said, bumping your hip with hers gently. "Its actually surprising that he hasn't stabbed me by now."
"HE WHAT?"
"Yeah, he carries a pocket knife." Showing off a proud smile, you looked at Mirabel who had a stunned look in her face. "I did not know that."
"There are many things you don't know about him. He's that type of boy to be secretive and stoic with his feelings and that's exactly my type." You trailed off, showing the girl a playful smile. "I'm gonna make that boy part of my life someday"
"Jeez, you really are a hopeless lovesick flirt."
"Only for him, Mira. Only for him."
Running back to his room as fast as he could, Carlos sat down on his desk as he held the cup of coffee you made. His hands were shaking, face flustered from your continuous flirtations.
"Dios mio, What are you doing to me Y/N?" He asked out loud.
His lips curled whilst he was thinking of you, an expression that no one else saw. Sure, he has let out a few smiles and tears to his family but you, you were something else.
Never did he once thought that he would be feeling love. After hearing stories from his parents, he always thought that romantic love was what made one truly happy. As he grew older, his perception of that changed as soon as his personality did too.
Having to be the shadow of the Madrigal twins, he never felt like he was special. Carlos never felt like he mattered, that he was solely there to help the community like a servant. He was never looked at, never talked to, never laughed with, never loved.
Until you came along.
He can't pinpoint a specific date, but he swore that one day you showed up in his life and his perception of it took a 180 degree turn. You weren't like the rest. You kept looking at him, you kept talking to him, you kept laughing with and at him, and,
You seemed like you liked him.-
Scratch that, he refused to put his heart on the thought of latter. You were a flirt. You weren't always an ass, but you constantly teased him. You always flustered him. You always somehow manage to almost break the cold persona he worked hard for to show.
Do you mean everything you said? Or was I just another toy to you?
One of the things that bothered him was that question. Why exactly did you choose him as the one you kept messing with? Oftentimes he would shapeshift to stalk you silently but you never had the same personality you had with other boys in the village. There were guys more appealing and attractive than Carlos.
And the thing is, he never showed you any response nor teased you back. He never made a move on you, he shoved you away, completely ignores you and if you two were to speak, your conversations would be done after 2 minutes, with you carrying. He pushed you away and never reciprocated your advances, so,
"Why me? Y/N?"
He can only sigh as he took a sip of the coffee he made. Like the drink, he felt his cheeks getting warmer and his stomach getting weird. His heart fluttered. He loved your coffee. It was perfectly balanced and tailored to his taste. The creamer and sugar not to sweet, and the brewed drink not too bitter for his taste buds. It was just right.
Raking his hands through his hair, he stood up and yelled while he plopped his body on his comfy bed. Facing the ceiling, he lightly slapped his cheeks.
"She needs to stop."
As much as he liked the attention from someone like you, he hated how to him, you treated it like it was a joke. You were constantly messing with him, always trying to break his façade, always trying to make him look vulnerable.
He hated that the first time he felt love was from a dangerous flirt that seemed to toy him.
Taking a deep breath, he stood up from his bed and dusted his maroon ruana. He went out the door, putting back a blank face as he walked out the Casita, doing something he has never done before.
Looking for you.
Letting Carlos' legs trudge through the dried and mossy pavement of the village streets, he was out to find you. If he remembered correctly, you were either at your house, the garden, or at your parents' stall. He avoided the first and last option, still too nervous to approach both you and your parents.
Walking towards the large garden at the far side of the Encanto, he saw your figure. The sight of you is, strange.
He doesn't see the smug and flirty Y/N at all. Instead, he saw a lovely girl lying on the hammock by the large tree, casually reading a book. Your hair was flowing gracefully with the wind, your eyebrows furrowed as you were into whatever you were reading.
You didn't seem to notice Carlos approaching, it was only when he was literally standing in front of you with a blank face.
Immediately at the sight of him, your usual smirk was plastered on your face, sitting up from the hammock. "Fancy seeing you, here amor. Missed me already?"
Carlos glared at you. "As if, I only wandered here and found you. Sad you didn't fall."
You stood up and walked closer to Carlos, the close proximity of both your bodies sending him shivers to his spine. His eyes sparked a bit of surprise before it went blank and empty.
"Oh, does it count when I already fell.. for you?"
Now Carlos' face was flustered. You noticed a dark tint in his cheeks and it gave you a spark of hope that maybe your flirtatious deeds seem to have an effect on him. Carlos tilted his head, blank face trying to desperately hide the blush, "For all I care, I wouldn't catch you anyway."
Showing a dramatic face of disbelief, you put a hand in your chest. "Owh, being mean are we?" Inching closer near to his face, you whispered to him with a low tone, "You know how I always fall for bad boys right, amor?"
"Don't call me amor."
"What about..." You traced your hands on his chest, slowly leading up to twirl a strand of his curly hair "mi vida?"
Carlos snapped from his trance, hastily shoving your hand away from his face. "No, you need to stop."
"Oh, I see" You backed away, crossing your arms. "You're being hard to get now-"
"Enough!" He finally yelled, leaving you taken aback. Never had he raised his voice, and honestly, you didn't know what to do. Immediately the atmosphere became tense.
"I've had enough, Y/N! You keep doing this to me, acting like you have a thing and then laughing at me, I've had enough!" His eyes shown anger. Not that you weren't used to it, but the tone of his voice legitimately scared you.
"I'm not just some guy you can toy around with okay? Messing with my head, making me feel like crap and then you leaving happily as if you don't give a damn, I hate it! I don't know what's gotten into you, but you need to leave me the hell alone and do whatever your pathetic life tells you to do!" He burst, leaving no space for you to respond. He was angry, and it terrified you.
After rambling, Carlos put a hand in his mouth, not realizing how much he has said to you than the 3 years you two ever talked. If you weren't fixated in his eyes, you would fail to notice the slight tear escape from his glassy eyes.
And it pained you to know that you were the reason behind it.
With a deep exhale, Carlos put his hands over his hair, trying to pull it. He dropped them and with a last glance on your unreadable face, he turned around, trying to escape. But you caught his hand in time.
Still not facing you, you looked down and whispered. "You wanna know why my life is pathetic?"
Carlos turned around and his heart broke at the sight of you. You weren't giving him a smirk, not lifting your eyebrows like you used to, you had hunched shoulders, and your eyes were also glassy trying to hold back a tear.
"Because you're not part of it."
You inched closer, still holding his hand. You grabbed the other, forcing him to face you. Carlos had disbelief plastered all over his face, not used to the vulnerable sight of you right now.
You looked down and continued to finally speak. "Everyday I dreamed of having a story like my fairytale books, a prince being there for the princess and they lived happily ever. All throughout my life, I believed that love with come to me. And I thought I did, when I saw you."
You looked up, and see his tear stained cheeks. Letting go of his hands, he felt sad at the warmth leaving. But that emotion didn't last long when you palms found their way to his cheeks instead, your thumb wiping away the tears from his eyes.
"But as I see it, you didn't seem to know what love is. You didn't know what love felt like. So instead, I tried so hard to grab your attention, to teach you what I feel about love, but-"
"I guess it backfired, and made you upset instead, and I'm sorry. But, I meant all of I said, I wasn't toying with you, and I never would want to."
Leaving a deep sigh, you brought your lips to the corner of his lips and gave him a soft peck. He only stared at you in shock, still completely frozen.
"I apologize, Carlos. I'll never bother you again."
Carlos finally managed to snap back to the current world, train of thoughts all around his mind when he felt your palms leave his cheeks, immediately losing the warmth that made his heart flutter. Looking at you, he saw you turn around and trying to look away.
She loves me. Someone loves me. And it's Y/N.
He couldn't just let you walk away, not after all the feelings he finally figured out. So he reached out to grab your hand, turned you around to face him. At the spur of the moment, he grabbed the sides of your face and collided his lips with yours.
You can tell he was inexperienced, making you giggle through the kiss. You led his hands from your face to your waist, and you brought yours around his neck, brushing against his curls. You inched closer, and deepened the kiss.
So this is what love feels like? Carlos thought to himself. To have his heart fluttering, to have a smile upon his face, to have goosebumps all over his skin, to have a reason to wake up in the mornings for the best coffee he's ever had, to be able to finally show his true colors to you, whom he trusted.
Yes, this is what love feels like. For Carlos to feel warmth in your embrace, to be appreciated for his existence, to be seen in a light that isn't about his gift or powers, to be feeling affection from someone he had been longing for, to have Y/N L/N be finally part of his life.
Yes, this is what love feels like. For you to finally get the prince you've been asking for, to be reciprocated by the boy you longed for, to have his lips synchronize with yours, to have Carlos Madrigal be finally part of your life.
This is what love feels like.

Ooh I just read Why Pepa?! and it's rly good, would u consider a part 2?
Cook Book
Why Pepa?! (Part 1)
> requested? yes!
> pepa madrigal x fem!reader
> bruno madrigal x fem!reader (platonic)
> warnings: none
Tumblr media
Groaning, Bruno woke up from his slumber and sat up, making the thick book drop to the ground.
“Ugh... ” Bruno shuddered as he caught a glimpse of the book. “I'm returning you today, how will I ever look at Y/N's eyes after that vision?” He facepalmed.
“Hola Bruno! Go sit, breakfast will be served soon!” Julieta greeted happily.
Bruno rolled his eyes at his sister's giddiness early in the morning. For sure she and that boy, Agustin, spent the night with each other again.
“Brunito.”
“Máma.” Bruno gave a nod to his mother and sat down.
“I have a favor to ask of you.” Alma started as Julieta was handing out plates with food.
“And that is?” Bruno answered after thanking Julieta for the food.
“It is about Pepa.”
The said girl choked on her arepa. Julieta, being the eldest, hurriedly gave Pepa a glass of water.
“Máma! I thought we agreed to not do this?!” Pepa thundered.
“You did, I didn't.” Alma shooed away the forming clouds.
“As I was saying,” Alma gave Pepa a glare. “Since Bruno has been enjoying his whole day at the bookshop, he can gladly have Pepa go with him and maybe get her some cooking books.”
Pepa groaned as she rolled her eyes. “I don't need to learn how to cook! We have Julieta for goodness sake!” She pointed at her sister in front of her.
“Julieta needs rest Pepa. She can't cook for us and the town every single day.” Alma retorted calmly.
Pepa scoffed and looked at Bruno. “But why me?! Why can't it be Bruno?”
“The only time I'm entrusting the food to Bruno will be the time that I am not living anymore.”
Jingling was all you heard as you entranced yourself with the book you were reading. You didn't even here Bruno call your name until he dropped the thick book he borrowed in front of you.
“Uh... Hey there Y/N!” Bruno greeted calmly. “Do you have- uh- cooking books by any chance?”
Blinking, you bit your lip to stop yourself from laughing. “Oh! Of course, it's right over there! Far left, straight and then right and then left.”
“What?” You rolled your eyes at Bruno's decreasing sense of direction.
“Follow me, Bruno... and Pepa.” You raised your eyebrow but didn't dare to ask.
Walking towards the Home Economics section, you let Bruno and Pepa pick their books before escorting them to the reading area.
“You can read here and then just check out there–” You pointed to your spot earlier. “if you want to buy the book.” Pepa gave you a smile and thanked you before starting to read.
After you left, Bruno poked Pepa and asked, “So, why are you blushing?” He gave Pepa a smirk. Forgetting his vision.
“I'm not blushing, Brunito.” Pepa scrunched up her nose and elbowed Bruno.
Bruno yelped, attracting your attention. You saw Bruno rubbing his sides and laughed. This attracted Pepa's attention and made the girl blush.
Bruno rolled his eyes and closed his book before walking towards you and leaving Pepa in the reading area.
“I'll leave for a few moments, I just need to get money from mi máma to buy Pepa the book she's reading.”
“Sure, take your time.” You shooed Bruno away.
You smiled as you watched Bruno tried not to trip down and attract any of the townspeople's attention.
“So you like my brother?” A voice beside you asked.
You jumped and looked at Pepa, “Just as a brother, why do you ask?” You asked as you leaned again the counter.
Pepa's eyes went wide as you leaned next to her and stuttered, “Uh– just you know– uhm–”
Laughing, you shook your head and gave Pepa a kiss on the cheek. “No need to be jealous, mi vida.” Pepa couldn't help but to blush deeply.
As you were looking at each other's eyes, a thump of something huge made both of you jump.
“Bruno!” You closed your eyes after looking at the book that Bruno dropped. It was a book of your very own poems, he borrowed it to read to his rats.
“Uh... Based on you kissing my sister's cheek, do we still have to pay for the cook book?”

So this is a bit of an long ask but a yandere Mirabel who is in love with fem reader now the rest of the family is a platonic Yandere towards Mirabel as she doesn't have a gift and in there minds need to be cared for. So they kidnap reader to give to her as a gift and do all the punishments stopping reader from escaping for her.
(I'm really sorry for the long wait on your request!)
(Also I'm not including Abuela and Antonio, because I don't feel really that comfortable writing them as yandere's. Sorry!)
Gift (Romantic! Yandere Mirabel x Platonic! Yandere family Madrigal x Fem! Reader)
Tumblr media
Tw: Kidnapping, yandere punishments, romantic yandere, platonic yandere, drugging, force, threats, unhealthy obsession, yandere themes.
Mirabel gazed at you from behind the tree, obsessed with you. Just everything about you she loved. Your looks, your personailty, everything.
You didn't talk to Mirabel, nor know her. All you knew she was from the famous and gifted Madrigal family. You didn't plan on getting to know Mirabel, unless she started talking to you. Until then you weren't going to attempt to talk to her.
It's not like you had anything against her or anything, it just you never really were a fan of talking to people you didn't really know. And it would most likely stay that way.
The Madrigals had suddenly found out about Mirabels little crush on you, (not looking at anyone Dolores) they thought it was cute. It might of been a normal thing for a family to be proud or find it cute their family member had a crush or lover. Yes. But the Madrigals weren't really normal at all, they were what you would call a yandere towards Mirabel.
They believed Mirabel needed to be cared for in every way possible , they were like this ever since Mirabel hadn't gotten a gift like everyone else did. Ever since that day they had felt pity for her, protecting her, caring for her, making sure she was happy.
Finding out about this 'crush' of hers', would put you in danger. You knew neither of these things so you had no idea you were in danger. Oh I wish you knew so you could protect yourself.
The next day, you were on your own not another soul to be seen in sight. Well that's what you thought anyway. It was a nice day today, so why not take a walk? Not like sitting around all day was going to do anything...
Then suddenly a cloth wrapped around your mouth, you tried to fight off the unknown attacker, but no avail.
Your eyes suddenly but slowly opened, you then looked to see the...Whole madrigal family?! What did they want with you?! "Hello (y/n)..." Isabela said, making you even more nervous. "I'm sorry for what ever I did, but please let me go!" You quickly blurted out, getting a chuckle from each family member. You gave a confused look.
Isabela then resumed, "that's not why you're here...Now why you're here is because we know Mirabel has feelings for you, and we want to give you to her as a gift...Whether you like it or not." Her voice got a little darker and stern with the last 6 words. You gulped, as a gift? You weren't a present someone could just wrap up and give to another! You weren't going to stay with these people just because their family member loves you!
"No! You can't make me just stay here! This is wrong!" You shout, now shaking all over. "You will and you will like it dear..." Julieta darkly tells you. "And if you don't and try to escape, we won't hesitate to break your legs or do worse." Pepa finishs.
You wanted to cry out of fear, you didn't want any of this, why did this have to happen to you out of all people?!
"Now! Lets get you nice and ready for Mirabel, shall we...?"

Author's note: Hi!! Sorry for taking so long to answer this. I was currently working on another request when you posted posted your request. I waited until Thursday to write this, and hope you enjoy.
Note: The original punishment could've been worse but I changed it to not make them seem to cruel.
"Why do you wanna escape so badly?"
Tumblr media
You are Y/N L/N. You're 19 years old and a curious woman. You always loved studying everything to satisfy your curiosity. Everything was interesting, and you wanted to know everything.
You also liked meeting new people, well you liked meeting women. You're a lesbian. At first, you were in denial. You tried dating a few guys before but it never worked out.
The reason you found out you were a lesbian was when you met Carmen. She was majestic. Everything about her was perfect, sadly it didn't work 'cause turns out.. She was straight.
But thanks to her, you finally knew what your sexuality was.
Pepa Madrigal is part of the famous Madrigal family. She's the middle sibling. Her gift is controlling the weather with her emotions. Which to you, was cool and a curse at the same time.
Even though you two don't talk much, she was an amazing woman. You liked studying about her and her gift. Sometimes you help her with it. You also liked her hair. She's so pretty.
Julieta Madrigal is also part of the Madrigal. She's the eldest sibling, She is also considered as Alma's favorite. Her gift is healing someone with her food. You wished you had her gift.
You remembered having lots of injuries because you defended your crush. She insisted on going to Julieta, so you did. You met Julieta and you two had a small chat.
Having a conversation with her was entertaining. She was so interesting. Sure, you don't meet her daily but you and her talk on a weekly basis.
You always praised her, unknowingly making her flustered all the time.
You didn't notice the love in their eyes because you were too interested in your crush.
Julieta Madrigal and Pepa Madrigal had a crush on you. Shocking, right? Imagine having two Madrigal sisters liking you, it must be a blessing.
Julieta liked you because of how curious you were. You loved knowing new things, everything was interesting to you. Whenever she had a conversation with you, she was always hooked and entertained.
She loved talking to you. She was excited to talk to you. If only Alma didn't need her all the time, she would've been with you 24/7. She always dreamed of spending a month with you. Just the two of you.
Pepa Madrigal loved how you helped her with her emotions. You always calmed her down. You even tried to tell her that she should embrace her gift. She does what you say, but with Alma wanting for her to be perfect it was hard.
You were always there for her. No matter how rude she was to you, you would stay by her side. You never insulted her, you never hated her, you never give her judgemental looks. You always supported her.
The two never knew that each of them liked Y/N. This was the day they will know. I wonder how they'll react.
Julieta was always writing love letters for you, but she always hides it, fearing how Alma will react. However she wasn't ready to show you before but this week she was ready to tell you how she feels.
Should she send anonymous love letters to you for a month and then reveal herself? Maybe. Or should she directly tell you? Maybe.
"Julieta! Come down, right now!"
"Okay, Mamá!" She immediately left her room forgetting to close her love letter and her door.
But Pepa, on the other hand, likes to have a shrine of you. Like pictures of you, maybe some items she stole from you, or a note on a certain item for her to remember how she got it.
She was too scared to tell you how she felt. She was afraid of rejection. She wanted you to tell her that you liked her. But if it comes to it, she'll probably confess to you if she feels confident enough.
Pepa came out of the bathroom. "Julieta, have you seen my hairbrush?" She waited for an answer but she didn't receive any.
She sighed and saw that Julieta's door was open. Maybe it was there? She went inside and tried to find her hairbrush.
Julieta finally did the tasks Alma gave her, except one. Which was finding Pepa. She climbed upstairs and went to Pepa's room.
Pepa saw a letter on Julieta's desk.
Julieta saw a small cabinet-like beside Pepa's bed.
It wouldn't hurt to look right?
Pepa walked closer to Julieta's desk,
Julieta walked closer to it,
Pepa took the letter and read it.
Julieta opened it and saw what was inside.
They both gasped.
Julieta wrote a love letter for Y/N!
Pepa had a shrine of Y/N!
Does that mean Pepa/Julieta likes Y/N?
Both of them were shocked.
Pepa closed her eyes and put down the letter then went outside of Julieta's room.
Julieta sighed and closed the shrine, also going outside of Pepa's room.
Then they both bumped into each other.
They looked each other in the eye, and blurted something out without thinking twice,
"We need to talk!"
Julieta took Pepa to the bathroom and closed the door.
"You like Y/N?" Julieta asked her.
"Well.. Maybe? Um, do you like Y/N?" She replied.
Julieta closed her eyes and sighed.
"Yes, I do."
They looked at each other. Then Julieta had a brilliant idea. She then whispered something to Pepa.
"Well then?" Julieta took out her right hand for Pepa to shake.
"Deal." She shook Julieta's hand.
They decided to share you. What's the harm in that, Right?
It was finally the day. The day they confess to you.
The plan was to spend time with you, 'cause they found out that quality time was your love language.
So maybe, if they spend lots of time with you and make you entertained you'll probably gain a crush on them.
After that Julieta will send you a letter to meet them at a certain place.
Y/N'S POV:
I received a letter at my doorstep. I looked around to see if anyone was nearby, but to my dismay there was no one.
I picked up the letter.
My dearest, Y/N
I have been admiring you ever since we met. Then, after a few months of admiring you, we have realized we fell in love with you. If you wish to know who we are meet us at the Caño Cristales.
Love,
Your Secret admirers.
I finished reading the letters then a lot of questions filled my mind.
Who sent this letter?
Were they a girl or a boy?
Admirers? I have multiple people who like me?
Do they want a polyamorous relationship or do I have to choose? I mean I don't mind having a poly relationship with someone, who knows, it might be a great experience.
I folded the paper and placed it in my pocket.
I went to the location they mentioned. When I finally got there I saw a familiar ginger hair and a familiar Tiffany blue dress.
"Are you sure? What if they don't come? Or what if they reject us?"
"I'm sure it will be fine."
Wait a second.. Their voices are really familiar.
"Ahem?"
The girls turned around. It was Julieta and Pepa Madrigal!
"Oh, ho-Hola, Y/N."
"Buenas Tardes, Y/N! [Good afternoon, Y/N!]"
"Hola, Pepa. Hola, Julieta. So, I'll assume you two sent the letter?"
"Si!" Julieta smiled at you.
I felt myself sweating. How do I tell them that I don't like them the same way?
"So.. Me and Pepa had a crush on you for the past few months. We really liked you. We wanted to be with you for so long but we couldn't stand the thought of you not being with us..-"
I stopped listening. I hated this. I feel bad for them. But the thought of them wanting to be with them made me sick. I only see them as friends.
"/N..? Y/N?"
"Yes!"
"So, what's your answer?"
"I'm sorry, Julieta. I'm sorry, Pepa. But I don't feel the same. I only see you two as my friends. But I appreciate that you two had the confidence to confess!"
Then I heard thunder and rain. It was Pepa. "Clear skies.. Clear skies.."
I also noticed Julieta had an upset look.
I walked away from them then ran home. I laid down on my bed and sighed. I'll just forget this day ever happened. Then I felt my eyes close then the darkness surrounded me.
3rd person pov:
Julieta and Pepa couldn't sleep. They missed Y/N. They couldn't believe she rejected them. Sadly the plan failed.
While Julieta was staring at the ceiling she thought of an idea. She sat up and gasped. "I should tell Pepa!" She whispered.
She changed her clothes and went inside Pepa's room. She walked close to her bed and tapped her shoulder. "Pepa! Pepa!"
"What now, Julieta?" Pepa sat up and looked annoyed.
"I have a plan!"
Pepa groans. "Let's just give up, Julieta. She doesn't like us. What's the point anyway?" Pepa then laid down.
Julieta sighed and smirked. "Well then. Hope you'll enjoy seeing me and Y/N happy together for the rest of your life."
She then heard thunder. "What did you say?"
"Well?"
"Fine. What is it?"
Y/N's POV:
I then woke up but I felt something restricting my hands and feet from moving. Also I felt something cover my eyes and my mouth. Am I kidnapped?
I then started to struggle. "Sshh. Stop struggling mi vida. You'll only hurt yourself."
She took off the blindfold and the cloth that covered my mouth. "What the hell are you doing?"
"We are doing this for your own good."
You wanna guess who kidnapped me? If you guessed Pepa and Julieta Madrigal, you're correct.
What the hell is gonna happen to me?
Every night the sisters would always make you be with one of them but on Sundays, they would share you. For the first 3 days, Julieta made you stay with her. For the next 3 days, Pepa made you stay with her.
Surprisingly, Alma and Bruno doesn't know this yet. If they did, the sisters would be punished, any of them didn't want that so they kept being secretive and kept making excuses.
Even though you despised them for kidnapping you, being with them was hell and fun at the same time.
Y/N's POV:
I woke up at Julieta's bed. I saw her cooking. I moved a bit to see what she was cooking. She was cooking Arepas con Queso. Oh, of course she knew what my favorite food was.
She placed the Arepas con Queso on the tray and walked towards me. "Do you wanna have breakfast in bed or not?" She asked me with a smile. Gosh, she looked so pretty.
I glared at her and took the tray. I then started to eat. She chuckled and sat beside me. I then stopped eating and looked her in the eye. "Why are you doing this?"
"Huh? Do what?"
"Kidnap me. What do you gain from this?"
She then paused then smiled, keeping her composure. "Because.. Because I love you. I couldn't bear the thought that you'd be with someone else."
"What about Pepa? Did you force her to do this with you?"
"Oh, no. Mi amor, She agreed to do this with me."
"So, she likes me too?"
"Didn't I mention that already in my-.. Our confession?"
"No, well, I don't think so. I didn't really listen much."
Julieta looked at me and held my hand.
I sighed. "You know what? Since I'll just stay here for the rest of my life, entertain me."
"I beg your pardon?"
"Entertain me. Don't keep me bored. Just talk to me or do whatever you want, just don't make me bored. Okay?"
She smirked. "Okay." Her eyes then widened. "The people!" She whispered.
"What?" I asked her.
"I have to cook! Well, uhm, do you want to talk while I cook or do you want to help me and talk at the same time?"
"The second one."
She nodded and stood up. I also stood up. She took the ingredients and placed it on the table.
"So.. Why do you like me?" I look at her while doing the instructions she placed on the table.
"I liked- No, I loved how curious you are. You were so interesting. You loved studying, either history, science or any other subjects or studying people's behavior. You were.. Words couldn't explain how spectacular you are!"
I noticed the passion in Julieta's eyes while talking about you. Which to me, was weird. How does a person have passion for how they love someone? I didn't understand it.
I wouldn't understand it even though I had a crush on Carmen, but there is a difference between liking someone and loving someone.
I sighed, I'll never understand love.
"Why don't you like me?" She asked.
"Do you know Carmen?"
"Carmen Grove?"
"Yeah. I had a crush on her. And when you and Pepa confessed to me, I haven't moved on yet. I still couldn't bear the fact Carmen is straight."
Julieta looks at me.
"If I met you or Pepa first, I would've liked you first."
She blushes. "Well, how can you say that?"
"You're my type. Calm, smart, good at cooking, caring, and did I mention pretty?"
"You- You think I'm pretty?"
"Who doesn't? Besides, the way you always care for your family more than yourself is so admirable. Having a conversation with you is really fun, if I didn't have so many things to do, I would talk to you all day. You would definitely be a good girlfriend."
"You think so?"
"Everyone in the world does."
She giggles. She then moved closer to me and leaned her head to my shoulder.
If only she didn't kidnap me, I would've kissed her right now.
3rd person POV:
You were gonna be with Pepa today. You woke up on Pepa's bed to see her walking back and forth with some rain coming out of her cloud.
"Pepa?" You called her.
She flinched and looked at you. She smiled at you awkwardly and waved. "b-Buenos días, Y/N! Cómo estás? [Good morning, Y/N! How are you?] " She stutters. She's probably nervous.
"Buenos dias. Estoy bien. [Good morning. I'm Good.]" You answered. "Are you alright? You've been pacing and you're.. Dripping? Do you need a towel?"
"I- I'm alright. Mama's been stressing me out." She smiled.
"Pepa! Get down here!" Alma called.
She sighed and tried to stop the cloud from appearing. "I gotta go. Bye!" She ran outside of her room.
When she left you decided to explore her room. You stood up and walked around her room. You saw a small cabinet-like thing.
You opened it to see a lot of pictures of you and your personal items. You gasped and covered your mouth. You immediately closed it.
You sighed and carried on. Then you saw a book, it was titled "Mood board". Oh, you remembered this, you created a lot of these and also gave this to her.
Should you open it? But what about her privacy? Actually, screw her privacy. She literally kidnapped you, no need to act nice. You opened it and started reading.
Mood board,
I love Y/N. She was so nice to me, unlike mama. I hope she feels the same. I want her to be mine. I want her to be with me. I want her to stay with me. Is it selfish to think that? To be honest, I'm jealous of Julieta. She always gets Y/N's attention which annoys me soo much. I'll try to get her attention tomorrow.
I also noticed little doodles of me and her together which were actually cute. Then I heard the door open. I panicked and immediately closed the book.
I noticed thunder above her head and she looked mad. She groaned and sat down at the bed beside me.
I felt bad for her. I then put my hand on her back to reassure her. I wonder if there were waterproof clothes for her. She needs it. "Are you alright?"
"I hate mama! She's so annoying! she always complains about my gift, I can't do anything about it so what does she want me to do? I swear she literally wants me to smile all the time. She's invalidating my emotions!"
My eyes widened. Oh. Alma seems like a bad mother.
"Just ignore her. Don't force yourself to always be happy. Emotions are a part of the human body. Don't even try to bottle your feelings. ''There is some evidence that bottling up your emotions can lead to physical stress on the body. The stress caused to the body can lead to increased diabetes and heart disease risks. Other effects can be memory difficulties.” "
She looks at me with disbelief.
"I- I read it. In a book." I smile awkwardly.
She sighs and cuddles me. "Thank you for that information but I think I just need your warmth." She then moves towards me and hugs me.
Since I didn't know what to do I hugged her back.
You couldn't bear staying in the Casita. Seeing Julieta's and Pepa's room for a month was so annoying. You couldn't stand seeing them. They should give you an oscar for acting so nice to them. You wanted to escape so badly.
The problem was Casa Madrigal or The Casita. It had a mind of its own. If you even took a step away from their rooms, you would be dead. How does a house even take sides? Then again the Encanto is full of miracles.
Thankfully, Carmen taught you all about escaping and endurance. But how do you escape a house full of people with magic powers? Maybe, blow out the candle? Hmm, the candle is magic, can it be blown out easily?
The only time you had time alone to yourself was when Pepa and Julieta were having Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner. You might be thinking, what about when they were helping people? They bring you with them. So, you'll wait for Lunch time since they'll finish Breakfast quickly.
You never knew time was so slow, but you need to be patient or they'll see through you.
Julieta was braiding your hair when Alma called her. "I gotta go. I want you to stay here, alright?" She warned you. You nodded, acting as if you didn't plan on escaping.
She went outside and closed the door. After a minute of waiting, you stood up and walked to her window. It was locked. It would be hard with the way it was designed but how could Julieta be so stupid to not even barricade the window?
Whatever, her being stupid is not your fault. After 10 minutes you finally unlocked it. You then heard footsteps. You panicked and immediately jumped down. Your knees hurt but you had to leave now. You never ran so fast even the cameraman couldn't catch up.
You obviously went to Carmen's house, if you went to your house they would instantly kidnap you again. You knocked and thankfully Carmen opened the door so fast. "Y/N? Why are you panting? Also where have you been? I missed you!"
"Can... Can I stay at your place? Please?"
She looked at you and agreed. You went inside and sat down at the table. You sighed in relief. Carmen sat down at the table and intertwined her fingers with yours. "Y/N?" She whispered to you. "We need to talk." She looked at you, worried.
"Okay, fine. But, I'll warn you that you might think I'm crazy."
timeskip
You two slept in Carmen's bed, much to her boyfriend's dismay. You never felt so calm but you were still scared of them, scared they might kidnap you. But they don't know where Carmen's house is, right?
Whatever, you need to relax.
Y/N's POV:
I woke up. I was expecting to see Carmen or her ceiling. The only thing I saw were clouds, but it looked familiar. I sat up to see the clouds in Pepa's room and saw them.
I gasped.
"We're very disappointed in you, mi amor." Julieta looked mad and I noticed Pepa had a thunder above her head.
"Looks like we were too nice to you. From now on, we'll be extra strict to you from now on." She smirked. Pepa pulled out a cloth and used it to cover my mouth. She kissed my cheek.
Julieta took out a cuff and cuffed my ankles to Pepa's bed. I panicked but I couldn't say anything thanks to the cloth. "Since you escaped from us, your punishment will be.. Hmm.. How about only drinking water for a week with no food." She smirked.
I was scared but helpless. I would rather die than stay with them. She stood up. Julieta and Pepa left me alone in the room, helpless.
What have I done to deserve this?

tw: topics and scenes of abuse
“y/n! get back here!”
you bolted out of your home- at least what used to be your home. it was the house you grew up in with your parents. being able to call it home made you feel so safe, but santiago had to ruin that.
santiago hernandez. who you used to call the love of your life turned into your worst nightmare. the honeymoon phase had been the best, but you hung onto it too much. the places he used to kiss you would be covered in bruises and scratches. his loving touch turned dirty and you couldn’t take it any longer.
why were you back running from him? you were sure you had reached a different town and got taken care of by the so called madrigals.
“wake up,” you told yourself.
“wake up!”
“y/n, hon, wake up.”
a sudden grab of your shoulder was enough to make your surroundings morph back to the room you were left in. you jumped and sat up quickly, julieta stepping back carefully. you looked around and let out a sigh of relief.
“oh, y/n, i apologize for scaring you. i just came to wake you up to let you know breakfast will be ready soon.”
a warm smile formed on your face as you responded.
“it’s fine, just a startling dream was all.”
“may i ask what it was?”
you went quiet. you didn’t want to make her uncomfortable or share what had happened anyway. julieta was still a complete stranger, though you felt safe with her. how strange.
julieta grabbed the side of her dress as she felt the awkward tension rise. she didn’t mean to go too far. she came closer to you and placed a pair of clothes down on the bed. she didn’t want you to keep wearing the same ones you have been for the past few days.
“there’s a hot shower running the next room over. you can come down whenever.”
“gracias senora.”
she smiled and turned to exit the room. you noticed a few burn marks on her arm, must’ve been from cooking.
—————————————————————
the outfit julieta had given you was comfortable and fit pretty well. you were confused by the large house as you saw windows and floor tiles moving, but amazed at the same time. the front doors were open and you peeked outside to see a few others gathering food and sitting down.
everything seemed so in order, of course you felt out of place. these strangers took you in but why? you weren’t used to such kindness. eventually you figured out what foods were which and made your plate. julieta waved at you from the table and you went to sit next to her.
the table was filled with the rest of the madrigals. you only felt somewhat comfortable with julieta and isabela as they were the only ones introduced to you.
“julieta, where’s agustin?”
the older looking woman that sat at the end of the table asked. you looked at julieta and noticed her tense up a bit.
“oh, he left for work early. i already packed him some food last night.”
she smiled and continued eating her food. you began to eat as you let out a sigh. you hadn’t tasted food this good in forever, it was nice. you felt eyes on you and you knew it was the other people at the table.
from the time you sat there, you picked up on their names and magic they had. it was interesting and something new to you. camilo and isabela’s interactions were hilarious, and you absolutely loved little antonio. felix and pepa just seemed to be in their own world together. they spoke of bruno and claimed he had gone out to run a few errands. you then noticed luisa and dolores helping mirabel eat. you wondered what was wrong with the younger girl, but felt it wasn’t your place to ask.
you finished up your food as you saw the others leaving to attend their duties. julieta quickly sighed and began picking up the dishes. she looked very tired as you noticed the dark circles surrounding her eyes. you didn’t know what to do, and the least you could do is help her out.
you began picking up the empty plates as the other quickly noticed.
“y/n, it’s fine. i can do them on my own.”
that same warm smile she had last night appeared on her face. you found it cute but quickly shook your head “no” in response.
“i want to help, i’ve got nothing to do anyway.”
the older woman’s heartbeat slightly quickened. julieta could tell you were a stubborn one and knew there was no point in arguing with you. you gathered up the rest of the plates and followed her to the kitchen.
there was a comfortable silence between the both of you. the sink surprisingly wasn’t too big so you had to stand close together to wash the dishes. your shoulders touched and the warmth of your skin contacting with julieta’s made her shiver.
“your family is very interesting.”
you were the one to break the silence. julieta looked up at you for a couple seconds before setting her focus back to the plates.
“ha, yeah. my two other daughters were luisa and.. mirabel. i love them with all my heart.”
“your mother mentioned a man agustin. is he your husband?”
the shorter woman stopped scrubbing the plate then resumed quickly. her tone of voice had changed and she didn’t look up at you after that.
“y-yes.. he is. we’ve been married since our late twenties. he’s changed since the fall of casita, though.”
as you were about to ask another question, the older woman from earlier came into the kitchen. you both turned around and julieta quickly changed her expression. you waved and said a quiet “hola,” waiting to see her speak.
“hola, mama. me and y/n were just doing the dishes.”
“ah, y/n. call me alma. i’ve come to tell you that a few of the workers in town will be building you a house for you to live in. you’re very much welcomed and can stay in casita until the house is finished.”
you formed a smile and quickly wiped your hands to be able to take alma’s in yours.
“thank you so much, alma. i deeply appreciate it.”
alma smiled back and nodded. she was happy to be of help to you as she could tell you were a great person. she then left the kitchen and you went back to the sink only to see julieta finished the dishes.
“y/n.. if you’d like you could come into town with me to help out the citizens since you have nothing to do. i also prefer not to leave you alone here.”
“of course! i’d love to.”
you gently squeezed her shoulder and left to go gather your things. julieta stood there beginning to gather up the food she had cooked earlier.
she was confused with herself. you were still a stranger she just met last night. what was this sudden attraction to you? it was wrong. she loved agustin with everything she had, unless she’d been forcing herself to think that. you’ve shown her nothing but kindness. julieta stuck with thinking it was just the excitement of a new friend. she quickly ignored the thought as you came back down with your bag in hand.
there was just no way she could love anyone in that way except for agustin… could there?
