“Principal Weems? There's someone here for you.”
Larissa almost snapped her neck as she looked up towards the door. This is it. Maybe this was you. Maybe this was the part where you talk to her and you both make up.
“Send them in. Thank you.” Larissa told her assistant whilst dusting off invisible dust from her dress. God was she nervous.
Larissa waited until the visitor opened the door to her office, but alas she was disappointed. It was Marilyn that wanted to talk to her. About renovations for the greenhouse. Truth be told, Larissa didn't care. Marilyn could do anything to the greenhouse, though her decisions did need Larissa's approval, which she could do by email.
As Marilyn left, Larissa sighed and stretched her neck. It's been weeks since she began to drown herself in work. Albeit she didn't need to, she wanted to. She made sure to do anything, though unnecessary, to forget about what she did. She felt angry at herself. But she can't change what she did. And truthfully, she didn't want to. If she could talk to you, she can explain everything.
A knock snapped her out of her reverie. “Principal Weems? There's someone here for you. Her name's Andy.”
Andy? She didn't know any Andy's in her life. Though this must be the new board member that needed to talk to her. Ah yes, she was going to schedule a meeting later but it seems the board is one step ahead of her.
“Let them in, please. Thanks.”
Within a second, the visitor opened her office door and smiled. “Have a seat! You must be the new board member!”
The visitor, Andy, nodded in gratitude and sat in front of Larissa. “Uh–” Andy cleared her throat. “I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not a part of the board.”
Larissa blinked in surprise and sat straight. ‘If Andy isn't part of the board then...’ And it clicked. Larissa's eyes widened as she looked at the unfamiliar yet familiar face in front of her. She's met Andy before, at the Weathervane, with you. Hugging you. Talking with you. Laughing with you.
Clearing her throat, Larissa pursed her lips and asked. “Then, Ms. Andy, what is your purpose here at Nevermore?”
Andy gave a chuckle at the coldness the red-lipped woman was giving her. She didn't know why, but she can guess. “Well, to start, I'm Andy. Y/N's personal assistant–” Larissa scoffed at the statement. They sure weren't acting as colleagues when she saw them at the Weathervane.
“Truly, Y/N and I are just colleagues, friends, yes, you can say that. But that's just it.” Andy explained as she watched Larissa's face. She could see the different emotions running in her mind.
“As far as I am concerned, I don't think that's the reason why you are here, yes?” Larissa questioned Andy. She didn't give a damn about any explanation coming from the brunette in front of her. She wanted to talk to you. Not your assistant.
Andy sighed, this was going to be a lot harder than she thought. “Larissa, I have been with Y/N since you turned her down.” she watched the blonde wince at her choice of words. ”And I want to tell you. Take it.” Andy got a velvet box and laid it down on the blonde's desk. “If she gives you her heart, don't you break it.”
Larissa let out a breath as she gazed at the box in front of her. Choosing to open it, she gasped at its content. The box had two rings in it, not just any rings, one was Y/N's family heirloom that she told Larissa about. And the other was a paper ring, the same ones she made for Y/N.
“Larissa, I have been hopelessly in love with Y/N the moment she crashed into me.” The blonde snapped her eyes to look at the brunette in front of her. “From the moment she spilled her coffee on my button up. From the moment I looked into her eyes–” Larissa tightened her grip on the velvet box she was holding. If this was a visit to brag to her that you and Andy are an item now, she wouldn't be capable of not doing anything crass to the brunette.
“I have been hopelessly in love with my boss, with Y/N.” Andy felt a shudder go through her. She never imagined she would confess her feelings for Y/N to Y/N's ex-girlfriend.
“And after you turned her down, I admit I was ecstatic at first, but as I saw her.” Andy bit her lip as her eyes glistened. “Larissa, she was a walking zombie. She didn't feel anything. And I know, because I can feel it.”
Larissa blinked, trying to bury the lump in her throat as she listened to Andy's confession. “I–”
Andy gave Larissa a smile and took the blonde's hand. “You don't have to explain anything to me.” She squeezed Larissa's hand. “But please, fix it. Fix her.”
---
Larissa has never been nervous like this before. She wasn't nervous when she was brought to the former principal's office to give her the mantle. She wasn't nervous when she tried to make it through the Rave'n without a date. Yet, when it came to you, everything for her became a blur. She was always nervous around you. That she would fuck up. And that she did. And now, she was nervous, more than she could imagine.
The sound of footsteps coming down the stairs and towards the door made her want to turn around and go back. But she made a promise to herself. As the door opened, your wide eyes were the first one noticed. How it held shock and then anger as you processed her presence in front of your house.
“Hi.” Larissa breathed.
You purse your lips and shake your head then laugh. “Fucking pills giving me hallucinations.” You tried to shut the door yet Larissa jammed her foot before it closed.
“Y/N. You are not hallucinating. Please let me in.” Larissa held the doorknob in hopes of you letting her in.
“For what? So that you can turn me down all over again?” She winced at your tone. You and Andy did have something in common, and it was straightforwardness, despite being both gay.
“Please, let me in.” She whispered, begging for you to take her in again.
With your internal armor breaking, you sighed and opened the door wide enough for her to step inside. “Sit wherever you want.” You pointed to the couches in front of you.
As she sat on the loveseat near her, you chose to sit on the armchair in front of her. The coffee table separating both of you. “Talk.”
Larissa chewed her lip and sighed. It was now or never. “I– Y/N, I am sorry. I'm sorry for turning you down. For interrupting you with a rejection. And I know anything I say to explain it will never be enough for you and for me. It won't be enough to wash the pain I've caused to you away. But please understand that I had to. I had to reject it. I am a walking red flag, Y/N. I am a people pleaser, to the point that I do not give a fuck about anything and anyone around me just to please everyone. I am self-centered, I get jealous easily, I am unstable, Y/N. I can't give that burden to you.”
The silence was too much to bear. Here she was, giving you every chance to yell at her, scream at her, cry because of her. But all you did was tilt your head.
“Who said I wanted that burden all to myself?” You asked her in a whisper as you raised your eyebrows in mockery.
Releasing a breath, you laughed at her words. “God– I–” Standing up, you put your hands on your hips and closed your eyes in exasperation.
Larissa blinked away the tears and balled her fists. If this was needed for her to be forgiven, she would take it. Take the mockery, take the laughs, take the punch of being the butt of the joke.
“–issa! Larissa!” She snapped her eyes towards you and saw you a foot away from her.
“Good, I have your attention now.” You ran your hand through your hair. “Larissa, I didn't propose to you because I wanted to be burdened by all your insecurities. I proposed to you because I wanted you to fight it with me.” You leaned towards her and wiped the tear that made its way down her face. “Larissa you are the best thing that I had, and I'll love you even if you don't love me like that.”
Cupping her face with your hands, you planted a kiss on her forehead. And that was all it took Larissa to let her tears out. Larissa became a sobbing mess in your arms.
Burying your face in her hair, you let your tears out and embraced her tightly. “Gods, I've missed this.”
Pulling away gently, Larissa cupped your face in her hands. “I'm sorry. I love you, not because you love me like that, but because I love you.” She whispered. Afraid that any noise would break you apart. That she would wake up and realize that this was all a dream.
Giving a watery smile, you replied. “It's done now, my love.” You leaned into her and brushed your lips with hers.

What A Sad Sight (Part 1)
> larissa weems x fem!reader
> requested? kinda
> content/warnings: self-hatred, jealous larissa, ✨ eavesdropping ✨
> a/n: geez, i wrote this one without a song in mind so it was really hard to like find a title for this 😭 but yeah, there's defo gonna be another part because of this song If You Love Her
Tumblr media
“The usual, Ms. Weems?”
Larissa looked up from her phone towards the blue clothed girl. “Yes, thank you. Your uniform looks great, who designed it?”
“Oh, someone outside Jericho.” the girl waved her hand while blushing. “I'll send someone to take your order to you soon, you can take your booth now.”
Larissa nodded in gratitude and settled to the booth next to her usual one. Sighing, she took a glance at the booth and saw a brunette sitting there.
After a few minutes, Tyler, sporting a blue uniform is standing in front of her with her hot chocolate. “Your hot chocolate, Ms. Weems.”
“Thank you, Tyler.” Larissa gave the boy a smile. “But, I must commend your uniform and the atmosphere here, it's never been like this before.”
Tyler grinned and nodded. “Yeah, uh– we have a new boss, she uh– wanted to make this place more “her”.” He said whilst making air quotations.
Larissa made an O with her mouth in understanding. “Can I ask? Who's to commend on the renovation of the Weathervane?”
As Tyler was about to speak, the brunette sitting at the booth next to her stood up. “Y/N! There you are! I thought you got lost.”
Larissa stilled at the sudden interruption and slowly glanced behind her. Her breath getting stuck in her throat as she saw the face she's been longing for in the past weeks. Luckily, Tyler managed to bring her attention back to him by chuckling.
“Her.” He said pointing at your figure hugging the brunette. “Ms. Y/N bought the café, uh– there's a rumour going on that she bought the Weathervane for someone, we don't know who though.” Tyler finished with a shrug. Glancing around him, he bid Larissa goodbye and went back to his position.
Pursing her lips, Larissa sighed and leant back on the chair, silently sipping her drink. There's another thirty minutes before she needs to go back to Nevermore and she decided to spend it here, eavesdropping on the booth next to her.
“How's the redecoration going?”
A shudder ran through Larissa's figure as she heard that voice, her voice. For weeks she's been trying to call you yet she's always redirected straight to voice mail. She knew that you knew she wanted to talk, yet you didn't. It was understandable, who would want to talk to someone who rejects a proposal? If it were her in your shoes, she wouldn't want to talk either.
“Meh, they didn't suspect anything.”
At that unfamiliar voice, Larissa found herself rolling her eyes. She didn't know why, but the voice, the accent, the person, it bothered her. Who was this wannabe sitting next to you? Did you meet her before you and Larissa got together and reconciled after she rejected your proposal or did you meet her after? Meaning you would be on the first step of moving on. Finding someone new.
She heard you give a chuckle. “Why would they suspect anything? They don't even know you.”
“That's it! They don't even know their boss's own P.A!” Larissa winced at the whining tone.
P.A huh? She didn't know you had one until now. Hell, she didn't know you needed one. Larissa balled her fists in anger. She was angry at herself for being self-centered. She hated that she pushed you away, and she knew that everytime she would raincheck your dates.
“But, truthfully, I appreciate you coming here to check the renovation.”
“It's no biggie, plus I do work for you.”
As she heard your laugh, Larissa decided to stand up and leave. She couldn't stand hearing you talk and laugh with a stranger, and in your booth nonetheless. Sighing, she dusted off her dress and left without looking back.
But if she did, she would see your eyes widen as you gazed at her.

What A Sad Sight
> larissa weems x fem!reader
> requested? no
> content/warnings: angst, self-pity
a/n: after a month of listening to Taylor Swift songs i finally did it! i thought of this fic while in the shower lol. If you want to, you can listen to right where you left me. Another, Andy is played by Charlize Theron. idk, i just like The Old Guard
Tumblr media
“Are you sure? You really want to buy that crappy coffee shop?”
Jolting up from your daydream, You looked at Andy innocently. “Hmm? What'd you say?”
“I asked if you really want to buy the Weathervane?”
Giving Andy an incredulous look, you spun in your chair. “Why of course! Larissa loves that café!”
Narrowing her eyes at her boss, Andy decided to cut the conversation short and leave. Yet, before closing the door, Andy turned around. “Are you sure sure?”
You gave Andy an assuring smile. “As sure as I am wanting to marry Larissa.”
Sighing, Andy closed the door and whispered. “Is she though?”
— — —
You sat at the booth you and Larissa first met, where she introduced herself, where you spilled your drink after getting shocked at the beautiful intruder in front of you.
Today was busy, as usual. After buying the Weathervane, you immediately got people to do some renovation to make the atmosphere more like yourself. Of course that didn't mean that you would fire the staff, no you wouldn't. Yet you did want a change in the aesthetics of their uniform, you thought brown didn't accentuate the calmness of the café.
Your thoughts were cut off as the jingling of the bell came, notifying you that a certain tall blonde was now walking towards you. As she sat down, your nerves skyrocketed and suddenly your palms became sweaty.
“Darling, are you okay?” Came from her as she gave you a concerned look. Larissa wasn't a mind-reader, yet she didn't need to be to know you were nervous. That made her nervous as well.
Wiping your hands on your pants, you gave her a reassuring smile. It's now or never. “Yes dear, I'm quite fine. Uh– would you like a drink? I can go get Ty–”
“That won't be necessary, Y/N. I just ate before coming here.” She leant towards you and took your hand in hers.
Chuckling nervously, you gave her hand a squeeze and sighed. “Darling, you know that I love you, right?” Larissa nodded, your affection could be seen by anyone a mile away. You were quite taken with her, the students even started teasing you whenever they would see you with a bouquet of flowers for her.
“Larissa, I've been meaning to ask you this for a while now. We met each other here at the Weathervane two years ago, and after that it's been a bliss with you in my life. You constantly bring me joy whenever I see you. And I want you to know that I appreciate everything you do for me–”
“No.”
Your eyes widened at her interruption. You couldn't believe it, no, you wouldn't believe it. This day was supposed to go smoothly, she was supposed to say yes. You didn't make a plan had she said no, except maybe wallow in self-pity.
She noticed your silence and locked eyes with you. Seeing your glistening eyes, it broke her heart but she had to do it. She had to. Deciding to end your misery, she stood up and left.
You didn't even notice her leave, instead you let your tears fall as you stared at the seat in front of you. You replayed every moment you've been together, trying to find something, anything that would lead to this. Yet all you could think was your second conversation at the very same booth. How she still longed for her friend. How she longed that she chose her instead of her husband.
You decided to leave after hearing a couple whisper, “What a sad sight.”
— — —
“You okay?” From the moment you walked inside your office like a zombie, Andy was there. She saw how you carried yourself to be strong for anyone to not say anything, yet as you closed your office door, you broke. Something in Andy broke as well when she saw you in that state.
“No.”

Life Eternal (part 3)
Would you let me touch your soul forever?
Larissa x fem!reader
A/N: This part is still very much angsty, consider yourself warned!! The next chapter will be the last one, I haven’t decided yet if I will give these two a happy ending or not, I’ll write what feels right at that time. I recommend listening to Pictures of You by The Cure while reading this chapter. LISS, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, THANK YOU<3
warning: very brief mention of smut
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next morning you were up before the front desk even had a chance to call in your room.
I’m going back to Nevermore, getting in my car and leaving this hell hole.
You had been awful to her, horrible even and still she had been nothing but sweet in return. It was infuriating, couldn’t she push you away to make it easier for you to leave?
You entered Nevermore’s car park on your tiptoe, scared that any noise you’d make would alert Larissa of your presence. You were about to reach your car when you heard it, the familiar creaking noise of the big wooden doors being opened.
“Were you planning on leaving without saying goodbye? Again?” Larissa’s voice reached your ears and you took a deep breath before turning around to face her.
There she stood, wrapped in a silky night robe, her silver curls falling on her shoulders and her face bare. Her chest was heaving up and down and you could only guess that she had ran, hoping to catch you before you were gone.
“Larissa, I-“ You shook your head, trying to ignore the pang of yearning in your chest. You had never seen her like this before, without her tight updo and a face full of makeup, without her armour.
She moved aside, silently inviting you in, and your legs worked on their own accord as they followed her to her office.
“Did I wake you up?” You asked as she closed the door behind you.
“No,” Larissa sighed, “I barely slept. I was making myself a cup of coffee when I heard you in the car park. Working with teenagers you have to train your ears to catch the slightest noise, lest they sneak out incessantly.” She said before disappearing in the room adjacent to her office.
She reappeared a minute later, holding a mug which you immediately recognised to be the one you’d bought for her birthday on your fifth year at Nevermore. You thought it would be funny to buy her the kitschiest mug you could find, laughing to yourself as you picked one with a unicorn and pink flowers on it. And here she was, six years later, still using it to drink her morning coffee.
You need to tell her now, before she somehow manages to pull you in once more.
“Larissa, I will be leaving Jericho today.” You said, watching her place the mug down on her desk before she took a few steps closer to you.
“Will you be visiting again soon?” You could tell by the way her eyes searched for yours that she already knew the answer to that question. She was simply hoping to be wrong.
“I…I think we should stay apart, Larissa.” You managed to push out, your chest constricting and your mouth going dry.
There was a silence then. Hours seemed to go by before Larissa finally spoke again.
“Don’t you want us to be friends?!” Larissa asked, her eyes desperately searching for yours once again.
“No!” You let out a pained chuckle at her question, something Larissa took as you laughing to her face, as if she was silly to think that you would ever want to be her friend.
You wished you could explain, tell her that being friends would never be enough.
“But-“ The woman’s eyebrows knitted together, that surely felt like a stab to the heart for her. “After everything I did for you?” She whispered, her index finger poking at your chest making you take a step back, then another one, until your back was pressed against the wall. Her face was twisted with anger mixed with hurt, and you thought it was a shame to see such beautiful features marred by those emotions.
When was the last time you had seen her that angry?
“I love you, Larissa.”
“So do I! That’s why it pains me so much that you would decline my friendship offer!“ She shook her head in disbelief.
“You are not hearing me! I am in love with you! I have been for years!” Oh no. No, no, no. You instantly wanted to take the words back.
You felt the tall woman physically recoil from you as soon as your confession was out of your mouth. There it was, the disgust you were expecting.
“That’s what I thought.” You whispered bitterly.
For once in her life, Larissa felt at a loss for words. She couldn’t understand how she had never seen the signs, because now that she knew, it all suddenly seemed so obvious.
It wasn’t right. You used to be her student and she was your principal. It wasn’t right, it went against everything she believed in, it was unethical. She knew it wasn’t right so why was she craving to embrace you?
“Larissa, look at me.” You took a step closer and looked up into the older woman’s eyes, your hand gently cupping her cheek.
You shouldn’t use your powers on someone who didn’t consent to it, but what other choice did you have now?
Larissa felt entranced by your gaze, unable to move or look away even when she felt the memories of you starting to slip from her mind.
“Please…” The woman was able to mutter, her heart beating loudly in her chest when your face started looking more and more like that of a stranger. You could feel her mind fighting back, trying its best to push you out before you could erase every single bit of yourself from her memory.
“It’s for the best.” You reassured her, your thumb brushing away the single tear that rolled from her eye.
I’m so, so sorry, Larissa. But if you don’t forget about me, if you keep reaching out, how could I ever forget you?
“Just a few more seconds.” You whispered and watched her gaze slowly turning blank until she looked at you like one would look at a stranger in the street.
“You will fall unconscious in a moment, don’t fight it.” You explained. People always fainted after getting some of their memories erased, it was draining for both the mind and the body.
Just like you were expecting, Larissa’s knees wobbled and you barely had time to wrap your arms around her waist to catch her from falling to the floor.
Managing to lie her down on the sofa, you made sure she wasn’t in an uncomfortable position that would have her body aching when she would wake up.
You knelt by her side and carefully tucked a silver lock behind her ear.
“In another world, we sit across from each other at the kitchen table and go over the grocery list.” You whispered, your thumb brushing her cheek. “You would keep my picture in your wallet and I’d keep yours in a locket around my neck. But not in this life. In the next one maybe, if we are lucky.”
Your heart ached as you pulled yourself away from Larissa, taking in her unconscious form one last time. She would be fine. And you would too. You were strong enough to remember for both of you.
You felt like you were going to be sick when you walked to the door, your hand tightly gripping the doorknob hoping it would keep you grounded. You didn’t look back as you walked out, no matter how much you wanted to. You knew that if you threw another glance at Larissa’s face, you’d never be able to let go. So you didn’t look back.
You weren’t sure when you had started crying, but by the time you had reached your car, hot tears were running down your cheeks. And it didn’t help when you turned on the engine and The Cure started loudly playing from your radio.
There was nothing in the world that I ever wanted more
Than to feel you deep in my heart
There was nothing in the world that I ever wanted more
Than to never feel the breaking apart
My pictures of you
You couldn't hold back the anguished scream that came out of you, your palms hitting the steering wheel a couple of times before you eventually burst into loud sobs.
You were strong enough to remember for both of you.
You stayed there for a moment, forehead pressed against the wheel and chest heaving as you slowly calmed down.
You would be alright. You just needed to let it all out, just once. You would be alright now.
Leaving home, you thought as you drove away, unsure if you meant the school itself or the woman lying unconscious on her sofa.
You would make sure to give Enid a call later and ask her if she could check in on Larissa. But for now, you needed to leave, and so you did.
You hid your face in the neck of the woman in your arms, your fingers buried to the hilt inside her. You didn’t remember her name. You weren’t even sure you had asked before you two had dragged each other to the bathroom.
Your heart squeezed in your chest when the woman clenched around you as she climaxed, but it wasn’t due to pride. It was a pang of yearning, of longing even, one that hadn’t left in the year that had passed since you had left Jericho again, no matter how many women you had seduced.
“Don’t you want me to return the favour?” The woman asked when you pulled away and moved to the sink to wash your hands.
You looked at her in the mirror. Tall, blonde, and yet nothing like the woman your heart was still aching for.
“No, no that won’t be necessary. But thanks for offering, I appreciate it. You’re beautiful, by the way.” You pushed a smile and gave an awkward nod before getting out of the bathroom.
You walked back to your stool at the bar and let out a sigh, rubbing your hands over your face. You needed to stop coming here hoping to find someone that would fill the gaping hole in your chest.
Sure you had tried dating. Audrey had been a lovely partner, but you had to call it off after a couple of months. It wasn’t fair to let her fall for you while you were still mourning something that had never even happened.
You were strong enough to remember for both of you.
Yeah, well, it was mortifying to be the one who remembered.
The sound of a glass being placed in front of you made you look up, silently questioning the bartender.
“I didn’t order anything?”
“I know,” the man flashed you a wide grin, and gestured towards the end of the bar with his chin. “The lady over there did.”
You turned to face the lady in question, half expecting it to be the woman you had just left in the toilet. Your breath hitched when your eyes fell into sapphire ones, your heart skipping a couple of beats.
You must have been cursed in a past life. And you knew fate and inevitability were laughing right into your face right now. There was nothing else that would explain why Larissa Weems had found her way back into your life again.

Cameras flash all around you as you arrive at the red carpet event. The suit you’re wearing appears to have gone over well if the reaction from your fans and loud clicking of camera shutters was anything to go by, and you offer the gathered crowd your stunning smile.
Scarlett watches on, her heart hammering inside her chest as she takes in your attire. Your suit incorporated the same exact shade of green that made up her dress and for a moment she lets herself imagine that the two of you planned it that way, that the two of you were each other’s date. This illusion is quickly broken when your actual date steps out of the limo next. She too wears the same shade of green, though her dress is far less of a show stealer than the blondes was, so at least she had that. Though she’d much rather have you.
Jealousy fills her as she watches your date loop her arm with yours, and the legitimate smile she was sporting for the paparazzi mere moments ago turns into something much more forced. Not that any of the people around her notice, they simply carry on cheering and snapping photos as you continue to walk forward.

“Come on Y/N!”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Because.” Because you didn't like your birthday.
“Oh that can't be your only reason.” said Dovey while rolling her eyes.
Humming, you continued checking the papers of your dear evers. God, who knew most of your evers would flunk their music quiz.
“Plus, I still have papers to grade.” you waved the paper in your hand without looking at Dovey.
Huffing, Dovey snapped her fingers and all your papers were graded and stacked from failed to passed with flying colors.
Groaning, you stood up and placed your quill back to it's container and looked at Dovey. “Since you oh so finished ever-ything for me,” you smirked at your own pun, “let's go to whatever you've been wanting me to go to.” You grabbed the grinning girl by the elbow and dragged her out of your office.
“Oh goody!”
Tumblr media
“So where are we going?” you asked, just before stepping out the school.
“The garden.” said Dovey innocently. She didn't know why you dragged her outside the school. She only wanted to show you your birthday present.
“Oh.” Seemingly disappointed, you nodded and motioned her to lead you inside.
“Come!” Now she was to one dragging you all over the school.
~
Opening the garden door, Dovey pushed you outside and shut the door closed.
Turning around, you banged the door and screamed. “Dovey! I swear! If this is another prank like the last time!” you still remembered the last time Dovey locked you inside a room, albeit an experience to remember, it was not fun.
Sighing in defeat, you slid down the ground and banged your forehead on the door for the last time.
“Oh don't be like that, dear.” you froze at the sound, you knew the owner of that voice.
“What is it now, Lesso?” you asked without looking at her.
“If you turned around, I'm sure you'll know what's up.”
Feeling brave, you stood up and dusted off your dress and turned around. Only to be greeted by the different instruments floating around you.
“You... did this?” you asked as you walked towards the harp. Instantly knowing where the harp came from, you teared up.
Sniffling, you turned to look at Lesso and asked. “How did you get this?”
Shrugging her shoulders, Lesso stalked towards you and held your hand. “Somewhere out there.”
Smiling, you intertwined your hands and gave the woman a hug. “Thank you.” you said breathlessly.
Standing there motionless for a minute, Lesso finally got the courage to hug you in return. “You are most welcome, it is your birthday.” Only for a few seconds though. “Now release me.”
Giving a laugh, you released Lesso and smiled at her. “I knew you had a soft spot for me.” you kissed her on the cheek and left to play the harp.
Touching her cheek, Lesso hummed. “Only for you.”

Groaning, Bruno woke up from his slumber and sat up, making the thick book drop to the ground.
“Ugh... ” Bruno shuddered as he caught a glimpse of the book. “I'm returning you today, how will I ever look at Y/N's eyes after that vision?” He facepalmed.
“Hola Bruno! Go sit, breakfast will be served soon!” Julieta greeted happily.
Bruno rolled his eyes at his sister's giddiness early in the morning. For sure she and that boy, Agustin, spent the night with each other again.
“Brunito.”
“Máma.” Bruno gave a nod to his mother and sat down.
“I have a favor to ask of you.” Alma started as Julieta was handing out plates with food.
“And that is?” Bruno answered after thanking Julieta for the food.
“It is about Pepa.”
The said girl choked on her arepa. Julieta, being the eldest, hurriedly gave Pepa a glass of water.
“Máma! I thought we agreed to not do this?!” Pepa thundered.
“You did, I didn't.” Alma shooed away the forming clouds.
“As I was saying,” Alma gave Pepa a glare. “Since Bruno has been enjoying his whole day at the bookshop, he can gladly have Pepa go with him and maybe get her some cooking books.”
Pepa groaned as she rolled her eyes. “I don't need to learn how to cook! We have Julieta for goodness sake!” She pointed at her sister in front of her.
“Julieta needs rest Pepa. She can't cook for us and the town every single day.” Alma retorted calmly.
Pepa scoffed and looked at Bruno. “But why me?! Why can't it be Bruno?”
“The only time I'm entrusting the food to Bruno will be the time that I am not living anymore.”
Jingling was all you heard as you entranced yourself with the book you were reading. You didn't even here Bruno call your name until he dropped the thick book he borrowed in front of you.
“Uh... Hey there Y/N!” Bruno greeted calmly. “Do you have- uh- cooking books by any chance?”
Blinking, you bit your lip to stop yourself from laughing. “Oh! Of course, it's right over there! Far left, straight and then right and then left.”
“What?” You rolled your eyes at Bruno's decreasing sense of direction.
“Follow me, Bruno... and Pepa.” You raised your eyebrow but didn't dare to ask.
Walking towards the Home Economics section, you let Bruno and Pepa pick their books before escorting them to the reading area.
“You can read here and then just check out there–” You pointed to your spot earlier. “if you want to buy the book.” Pepa gave you a smile and thanked you before starting to read.
After you left, Bruno poked Pepa and asked, “So, why are you blushing?” He gave Pepa a smirk. Forgetting his vision.
“I'm not blushing, Brunito.” Pepa scrunched up her nose and elbowed Bruno.
Bruno yelped, attracting your attention. You saw Bruno rubbing his sides and laughed. This attracted Pepa's attention and made the girl blush.
Bruno rolled his eyes and closed his book before walking towards you and leaving Pepa in the reading area.
“I'll leave for a few moments, I just need to get money from mi máma to buy Pepa the book she's reading.”
“Sure, take your time.” You shooed Bruno away.
You smiled as you watched Bruno tried not to trip down and attract any of the townspeople's attention.
“So you like my brother?” A voice beside you asked.
You jumped and looked at Pepa, “Just as a brother, why do you ask?” You asked as you leaned again the counter.
Pepa's eyes went wide as you leaned next to her and stuttered, “Uh– just you know– uhm–”
Laughing, you shook your head and gave Pepa a kiss on the cheek. “No need to be jealous, mi vida.” Pepa couldn't help but to blush deeply.
As you were looking at each other's eyes, a thump of something huge made both of you jump.
“Bruno!” You closed your eyes after looking at the book that Bruno dropped. It was a book of your very own poems, he borrowed it to read to his rats.
“Uh... Based on you kissing my sister's cheek, do we still have to pay for the cook book?”

“Hey there!”
Pepa jumped when she heard the door open and a voice call her. Turning around, she saw you grinning and waving at her.
“H-hey there!” she nervously waved back, her posture straightening as she noticed you walk towards her, or so she thought.
But before anything else, let's rewind a bit, to maybe, this morning.
You stretched your arms, basking in the sun shining through your windowsill. You weren't really a morning person, but Julieta wanted to teach you how to make her famous arepas, and you can't say no to that. Really, you can't say no, she threatened to ignore you if you don't show up.
So, even though you dislike the kitchen, you're still going to show up, because who wouldn't show up for the person they love, right?
The whole Encanto knew about your affections toward the eldest Madrigal, so it was still a mystery how she didn't know. But it was more mysterious to how her youngest sister, Pepa, was also oblivious.
Picking your dress was much more difficult that you thought, it was a battle between two colors, green or purple. In the end, you chose green.
On the way to the Casita, you waved at the people you passed by, twirling a few children as they danced at the town square.
Once you reached the Casita, the door immediately opened and you saw the two sisters, but your eyes fell from the yellow and orange dressed girl, to the girl wearing blue. Although it was her daily outfit, you still can't help but swoon for Julieta Madrigal.
“Hey there!”
You waved at Julieta, not even noticing that Pepa returned the wave. When you walked towards them, you offered Pepa a smile and went to Julieta. You didn't even pay attention to the atmosphere of the room, from sunny and warm, to an almost cloudy and cold atmosphere.
“Hey there, my lovely zorillo!” you wrapped your arm around Julieta's shoulder.
Shrugging you arm, Julieta rolled her eyes and grinned. “Well hello, my lovely lobo.” she said before kissing your cheek.
Rolling your eyes, you pushed Julieta lightly. “Stop calling me that! I'm not afraid of fires anymore!”
“Well stop calling me zorillo! I don't even look like one!”
While you and Julieta were joking to each other, Pepa remained standing with her back facing you. She couldn't move, partly because of embarrassment and partly because of curiosity, she wanted to know what you and Julieta had. Were you two a couple? Does she have a chance on you?
Pepa's inner war was interrupted by Julieta announcing that both of you would be at the kitchen.
“If you need anything, we'll be there.”
Pepa nodded and decided to go to her room. But on the way there, she stopped by Bruno's room to ask him about something.
“Brunito!”
She knocked and heard a few things fall on the floor before the door was opened by her brother. Pushing Bruno aside, she went straight to his bed and dramatically lied there.
Gently closing his door, Bruno leaned his back against it and crossed his arms. “So... what happened?”
Pepa whined and kicked the air like a child. Not wanting to answer her brother's question.
Sighing, Bruno rolled his eyes. “Is it Y/N again?”
“How did you know?”
“You only act like this after you see Y/N and Julieta together.”
Pepa remained silent.
“Why don't you just tell her?”
“I can't! I'm a girl, she's a girl! We can't be together!”
Bruno raised his eyebrow and mumbled something.
“What did you say?”
“Nothing! Go on with your whining.”
“... As i was saying, Y/N and I can't be together! And it's okay!” Pepa sat up immediately, “I'm fine with admiring her from afar. I'm fine being friends with her, at least I'm friends with her. I'm fine watching her be all.. lovey-dovey with Julie–”
“Oh who are you kidding Pepa?!” she jumped at Bruno's sudden interruption.
Pepa remained silent for a whole minute before answering, ”... no one.”
“You should tell her before it's too late!” Bruno grabbed Pepa's arm and dragged her to the kitchen.
But, before he could enter, he stopped. His eyes widening at what he saw.
“What's happening?”
Pepa whispered and pushed Bruno aside. Her own eyes widening as she saw you kneeling in front of a sitting Julieta. With a flower in your hands.
“We... we should go Brunito.”
A tear escaped from Pepa's eyes before she gently took Bruno's hands and guided him away from the most sickening sight she ever saw.
Her sister... and you. Julieta and you. She couldn't believe it, but the evidence was here.
She knew she didn't stand a chance now. Now she wasn't oblivious. Now she knew you loved her sister, more than a friend.
