SIRONA RYAN IS NOT A TRANSPHOBIC NAME. GOOGLE IT.

People are hating on the name Sirona Ryan for the trans character. They are assuming JK came up with the name.

She has almost nothing to do with the game. Nothing with story writing or production.

And everyone complaining about the name. LEARN TO FUCKING USE GOOGLE. My Celtic ancestors are crying. It’s a real name. It’s Celtic. They probably picked it cause Hogwarts is in Scotland. And it means Goddess of Healing Springs. JFC. I am filled with rage. People are not googling it and assuming it means Sir Ona. (Onna is Japanese for woman)

It’s getting ridiculous at this point. Also the hate for anyone playing the games. “Boycott it” if the game does bad. Most who worked on it get laid off. It’s a hard to get job in the industry. But no let’s get hundreds fired and Jk terfling won’t even be affected by the $3-4/game she’s not getting.

Go spread that hate at the actual problem. JK not game buyers.

Don’t buy it if you feel it goes against your morals. But stop bullying people. Making a 12 cry in the comments of a tik tok video about the game isn’t fixing the terf.

Hello, I am 23 and I enjoy writing literate or novella length replies. I try to reply at least once a day and I speak OOC or in a plotting channel a few times a day. I tend to like planning out my plots before I write and that can take a bit of time before actually starting the Roleplaying.

I do not write smut with my characters, I am fine with adult themes in my stories but I tend to prefer fading to black. Other than smut I don’t have any triggers that I can think of off of the top of my head and am willing to write angst to your heart’s content.

Handsome is....

So I have been thinking about this a lot but I didn't think it was necessary to elaborate too much on this cause frankly people who are intelligent don't need an explanation and those who need an explanation are too dumb to accept it. So its just wasted energy.

But yesterday my very good friend and me were discussing the same thing and surprisingly she (who by the way is not dumb at all and I love her) did not agree with me. Now it maybe her own biases but I felt like I should make a point.

So here comes my too long ted talk one more time..

I have seen too many HP artists' magnificent works since I joined the fandom and even before it. Now no doubt these people are way too talented for me to even think about crossing them and I say this with zero sarcasm and a hundred percent respect towards their imagination and artwork but I really do want to put forth a point.

You know what is the best part about everyone's description that Rowling has written in throughout the series?

Its that there is no adjective in anyone's looks coming close to 'handsome', 'pretty' and 'beautiful'. Of course with exceptions which I may have missed (I did read the works too long ago) and someone whose main characteristic goes with their physical looks. But it always has a very strong reasoning with regards to their personal traits.

Fleur Delacour :

Veela so physically attractive to the opposite sex

Sirius Black:

this guy's only saving grace is his good looks, 'haughty' beauty to portray a rich pureblood arrogant Casanova kind

Draco Malfoy:

again, 'haughty' good looks to give meaning to his arrogance and money (see a pattern?)

Lucius Malfoy:

nothing saying he looked handsome other than we can assume his son may have got those haughty good looks from him.

Narcissa Malfoy:

'nice' looking from direct paraphrasing (So Draco could have got that from his mother)

I am assuming all the Blacks bearing resemblance to each other may possess that same characteristic arrogant beauty which is kinda reasonable

Bill Weasley:

you know what I think? He was termed handsome for the sole purpose of showing the difference or more correctly the lack thereof after getting mauled by Greyback.

Cedric Diggory:

Excessively handsome.. thats just for Harry, Cho and Cedric triangle

Tom Riddle:

Come on, this a full on parallelism drawn from Lucifer, the Devil with stunning looks who fell from grace and turned to a monster from Hell..

Lily Evans:

Come on, there has to be another reason except achieving the unachievable to pursue her by Potter Sr. And of course to show the seemingly endless contrast between her and Severus. Though honestly I don't know how beautiful she was cause Petunia is said to be a horse faced woman (like they are siblings... one cant look like Aphrodite and the other like a gorgon unless their parents have been less than faithful.)

I think other than these characters no one has ever been termed directly as conventionally handsome, pretty or beautiful. But then I don't think anyone has also been coined as ugly or physically repulsive.

But then as a reader or artist one is completely free to imagine the character in any way they seem fit. That is all a game of perspective because then again beauty is subjective and highly individualistic. Never has societies rules of how beautiful or handsome one should look dictated what we think a person looks like.

But what I completely detest and find repulsive on a purely chemical level is when people come and casually comment on the artists pages or drawings is how could you make this and this character look so goddamn beautiful? (I am paraphrasing here from a quote I had come across many many times on three guesses? surprise surprise.. Snape arts).

And also because Snape happens to be my favourite HP character I have sadly faced this one times too many.

And honestly this has to stop.

It's embarrassing guys really!

Just stop.

Digressing from the subject of what handsome or beautiful is to the beholder, even in the original books majority of the characters have never been termed as beautiful as artists draw them.

You wanna see the evidence.

Harry Potter

Throughout the series, Harry is described as having his father's perpetually untidy black hair, his mother's bright green eyes, and a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead. He is further described as "small and skinny for his age" with "a thin face" and "knobbly knees", and he wears Windsor glasses

Handsome?

Nope.

But do people draw him like he is some Greek God?

Yep.

And that's completely fine.

2. Ronald Weasley

Rowling introduces Ron as "tall, thin and gangling, with freckles, big hands and feet, and a long nose." Ron has the trademark red hair of the Weasleys and is indeed one of Harry's tallest schoolmates, even outgrowing some of his older brothers.

Handsome?

Nope.

But do people draw him like an American football star?

Yep.

Also completely fine.

wait.. long nose?

Have I ever seen any pic of Ron with a long nose? People love saying Snape's nose is like a vulture's beak but then my dear fellow readers why haven't I ever seen Ronald Weasley sporting an elephant's trunk?

Caricature and reality should be kept different.

3. Hermione Granger

"In the Harry Potter books, the brilliant Hermione Granger is described as having frizzy, untamable dark hair, brown eyes, and protruding teeth, but more often is defined by her intellect and devotion to her friends."

Don't even get me started.

Emma you are wonderful but sadly you aren't Hermione.

But wait, some people have drawn her like her book's description (very rarely though)

Not that I have any problem with the supermodel Hermione granger.

4. Remus Lupin

"Remus was described as having a pale face with premature lines, and light brown hair that, as he progressed through his thirties, became more and more grey. The lines on his face and his greying hair were the results of the great deal of stress his body underwent with each full moon."

Handsome much?

Nope nada noppity

But then all of Remus Lupin's pics show him like a tired chocolate boy pretty from the eighties even in his thirties.

Again, not that I have any problem.

5. James Potter

"James was a tall, thin man with hazel eyes and untidy black hair that stuck up at the back. During his Hogwarts years, he had an indefinable air of having been well cared for and even adored. As late as his fifth year, he started wearing glasses, though he had not in his first year."

Oh God.. guess I am doing this.

However much all of you want him to be, he isn't Alan Taylor Johnson folks.

Yet however much it pains me to admit, the truth is it really doesn't bother me. No, not even if I hate him as a character, artists and readers are welcome to imagine him like Narcissus (from the beauty aspect also not that he wasn't narcisstic..sorry I am getting carried away)

6. Bartemius Crouch Jr.

"In his youth, Barty was described as being a pale young man with straw-coloured hair and freckles."

If you find him beautiful then cheers to you genuinely, but neither he is described directly as handsome.

7.Luna Lovegood

"She had straggly, waist-length, dirty blonde hair, very pale eyebrows, and protuberant eyes that gave her a permanently surprised look."

Not at all the platinum blonde moonlike beauty people draw her like. She almost sounds a bit creepy to look at physically.

But like I said before she could look stunning in someone's mind's eye. Doesn't matter really. But the point is that her book's look isn't maintained everywhere (almost nowhere) so...

Etc etc etc....

So actually my point is that physical appearances in Harry Potter have almost always been factual, objective and with good reason. It all links to the plot. Everyone's appearance does. Thus spreading this absolutely meaningless and worthless hogwash about Snape being ugly cause he has sallow skin, hooked nose and oily hair is fundamentally stupid. (And I have never read him have a receding hairline.. is it mentioned anywhere in the books?)

So either all of the people in the books were rather plain and general looking or all of them had their own specific physical attractiveness which is distinct as seen by their fans, followers and admirers.

Justifying making a caricature out of one person in a drawing where everyone else looks like Roman Gods and Venetian Goddesses, based on their distinguishable features is not only bullshit on principle but also tiresome.

Haters honestly hate away.. can't take away your one source of entertainment but please do it on your own forums, posts and artwork. Make Snape look like some monster for all I care but targeting certain artists because they find him handsome is just disgusting.

So to finish my title for this post

..... is as one perceives them to be.

Phew! That was long.. but it was stewing in my brain for far too long.

PS :- This is with all respect to all the Harry Potter artists there. You people are phenomenal and I won't measure up to any of your talents, not by even one sixteenth.

PPS_1:- You know who else was tall, thin, sallow, dark haired and curved nosed? Viktor Krum (whom artists draw like the statues of Pagan Gods) and he actually has a curved nose. That is to emphasise that hooked and curved are different physically.

PPS_2: Fred and George are said to resemble Charlie more ie; on the shorter and stockier side. But then artists draw them as tall and thin like the actors so...

Harry Potter

He thought it was a joke at first to be honest but when you made it clear that he wasn’t he was so giggly. Now, Hear me out. When Harry likes someone, he knows how to flirt. He says THOSE kinds of things like “yeah?” “Is that so?” Or “want to say that again?” And definitely calls you “love.” And honestly it leaves you weak in the knees. He’s so sweet about it too, makes sure to compliment you as much as you do to him. But don’t be fooled, the boy has his moments where he is just so flustered by your flirting that he doesn’t have anything to say.

Ron weasly

He’s actually a bit dumb. i’ll be honest but he gets flustered but instead of his cheeks heating up he just says shit like “stop that” “Y/N NO?!” “you can’t be serious” “shut up” and he says it all because he doesn’t believe you like him or are serious. so when you tell him that you are serious he just says “oh” and gets quite and it’s a bit awkward for you both after a few days but he warms up about it and even flirts back sometimes!

Hermione granger

“y/n what on earth are you doing?” she definitely laughs at all your little pick up lines and gives a little smirk every now and again. One time she lifted your chin with her finger and you forgot what you were going to say completely. “You know, flirting with me doesn’t work if you’re the one getting red.” She 100% flirts back but the only problem is you cant tell if she’s serious or actually into you so you have to ask her directly and she replies..with a kiss. <3

Draco Malfoy

He immediately tells you to shut up. like instantly. It honestly surprised you but you continued anyways. That was until one day he gets close to you instead of dismissing him. He asks “what’re you playing at you idiot?” and you look at him noticing a little smirk. “you think i’m playing at something? because i’m not, i’m just seeing how far i can get till you give in.” Red. his cheeks are reds and he can’t fix them so he walks away. “Well i like games anyways, so maybe you’ll give in.”

Luna lovegood

Poor girl doesn’t understand if you try to be slick. With her you would definitely have to stick to straightforward and simple compliments! stuff like “you look really pretty today.” and it would definitely cause her cheeks to flush a light tint of red. Because you continuously compliment her, she starts to think that maybe you like her and because she just says whatever she thinks, she gently asks you “You say y/n..do you like me? because i quite like the compliments!” and honestly Luna would definitely be the first to make things more clear than the rest of the gang.

Neville longbottom

He laughs it off awkwardly a lot because he doesn’t think that you could ever be serious! You usually call him smart in Herbology and he gets very flustered and stumbles on his words. usually mumbles out a few thank yous too! He would DEFINITELY be the type to ask one of the guys or girls what to do about your flirting? Because although he enjoys it, he has no idea how to reciprocate without being shy :’]

Fred weasly

He's a much better flirt than George i shall tell you that. He flirts back with you but will never ever make things clear for you until you say it to him directly. "Fred are you joking? why haven't you asked me out you idiot" you decided to ask him one day, and he simply replies with "why haven't you y/n?" and it leaves you a little shook honestly. He does dismiss you at least and is well aware of your little crush but unless you tell him you like him, you're staying friends.

George weasly

Georgie would be on the nicer side luckily if he knew what he wanted. but hes 10x more confusing because sometimes he flirts back, sometimes, sometimes he doesn't, other times he ignores it. So you stop because you think you don't think he feels the same, and he gets really confused as to why you stopped flirting with him. and you ask him why he cares..and it goes on from there.

Cedric diggory

Cedric actually doesn’t flirt with anyone..like at all. Yes you’d think he does because of all the attention he gets from girls but that doesn’t mean he reciprocates it. So when you flirt with him he brushes you off as another girl who wants him for his looks. This obviously hurts you and you ask him why he brushes you off and tell him that you want to get to know him. This man is shook. But kindly accepts your offer!! “Well if you really want to get to know me? don’t flirt, just ask.”

Ginny weasly

Ginny jokingly flirts with you not knowing your serious for a while but then she catches on because you don’t flirt with anyone else and being the confident and direct girl that she is, she asks you if you like her. (yes you do obviously) the questions honestly leaves you stuttering so she asks more calmly and hold your hand :’) in which you reply yes.

Todays the day I get to see Harry. For the first time since well last year. We've just ended our second year which I don't remember half of it. Anyway Harry live just across the street from me and I often try to sneak over but I usually get caught by Dudley, Harry's cousin. Harry owled yesterday

My break had been horrible as always even and it's only just started. The Dursley's put everyone on a diet because dudley needs to lose weight so now I'm getting less. Also my horrible aunt marge is coming over for a week and if I behave uncle Vernon will sign my slip to go to hogsmede . Anyway off of that topic Ron told me that him and his family won a galleon draw and they are off to Egypt. How's your summer going?

I sigh As I finish reading Harry letter. I still have yet to tell him I'm going with Hermione to France. So in apology for not telling him earlier I made him a whole bunch of food like chicken soup for when I get there (so it will be warm) pie, small cakes, cookies, treacle tarts (because I know their his favorite) pudding, a French dish I love dearly called bouillabaisse and other food so he doesn't starve to death while I'm gone.

I put a charm on them so every day he'll have a meal on the outside of his window. I'll tell him about it later. Anyway I'm bringing the soup out with me so I can give it to him myself. I had to make sure Dudley didn't see me this time. I climbed up the side of their house where Harry's window was and it was open I'm guessing because of the heat I don't really know but I got in his room and he wasn't there. I sat on his bed and observed his room it was about the same size as mine and very except I didn't see any of his school stuff which was weird. I was still looking around and heated footsteps heading toward the room so I hid afraid it was gonna be one of the Dursley's but, it wasn't it was harry. He barged in the room looking mad and kicked some books that were on the floor.

"Woah there easy Haz." Stepping out if the corner "your gonna break something" and Harry spun around and just stared. "You look like you've seen a ghost Harold" I said smiling and Harry ran forward and hugged me very tight. "How did you get in here" he asked still surprised but smiling very wide. "Through the window duh" and he backed away and I got a good look at him and he was now much taller than me and his jaw was more defined his hair was still the messy hair he had always had and eyes still the piercing blue eyes I've come to adore though I would never admit it. "I made you some soup. It's chicken dumpling soup because I know you're starving and I can't have you dead before next term" I said getting the soup out of my bag with a spoon. "Thanks y/n/n" sitting down on his bed filling the bowl with the soup and dumplings.

"So Harry I've got something to tell you."

I said to him giving him the bowl and sitting on a chair beside his desk. He looked up at me taking the bowl and showing that he was listening "well, hermione is going to France and she invited me to go with her and her family. But it's only for two weeks and I leave tomorrow."

He unexpectedly smiled "that's great n/n" and I give him a confused look "you aren't mad?" "No. Why would I be mad?" "Because then you'd be here yourself and I won't visit you as much." "N/n I'm not mad. I'm actually really happy for you" he said continuing on eating. "Oh great so I just spent days making apology meals for you just so you would be happy for me" I pouted looking out the window "hey at least I won't starve to death before term" he said mocking me. "Haha very fun-" I stopped mid sentence when I hear a loud knocking on the door and an annoyingly loud voice

"Who's in there with you boy? Who are you talking to?" And Harry took the bowl of soup and put it in the top of his wardrobe and pushed me into the corner I hid in when he first entered the room. He rushed to open the door "who's in here" Vernon asked coming into the room "what do you mean no one's here" Harry said faking confusion. Vernon just looked around and sighed in defeat "clean this room up it's a mess" he blurted before stomping out of the room and slamming the door shut. I got out of my hiding spot but waited until I couldn't hear footsteps anymore to talk.

"Harry I don't know how you do it. I would be in Azkaban for hexing my muggle family into oblivion." I chuckled and looked to Harry seeing him back eating the soup "Harold I know my food is distracting but you can still listen to me" while snapping in his face to get his attention. And he looked up and smiled finished with his soup. I sat back down on the chair I was on before Dursley barged in and picked up one of the books Harry kicked earlier and read it in silence. I felt eyes burning into my face "I know I'm beautiful potter but no need to stare" I laughed looking up at him, his face was beet red and eyes everywhere else but me "I wasn't staring" he replied still not looking at me "your a horrible liar".

I stood up and huffed "well potter I've got to go I have to pack for tomorrow" and Harry frowned. He stood up and walked toward me and hugged me very tight and I hugged back just as tight "don't do anything stupid when your aunt gets here I want you in hogsmede with ron and hermione and I." I said backing away from him slightly "I won't if she doesn't" he said very serious.

I laughed and looked down "also I'm not coming home after we leave France we're going over to the Burrow and the weasleys are taking us to diagonally" I said carefully. And he looked even more sad "why didn't you say that earlier?" "I forgot, but I promise I'll try to get Ron to come get you with me like last year. Maybe different forms of transportation but I'll definitely do it." I hugged him again and walked over to the window. "Alright Harold potter I'll be off. I hope my absence doesn't kill you. I'll see you in a couple of weeks." I saluted and winked to him and Jumped out of the window. When I got on the ground I saw Harry in the window and I waved to him and he returned the gesture with a sad smile.

I just got this devastating news an hours ago, right after I woke up.

I don't care if someone who reads this think that I'm a liar, but last night I dream about him, suddenly I'm 6 yrs again, the age when the first time I watched harry potter in 2007. And with the golden trio I'm a student in hogwarts and I saw hagrid stroking buckbeak.

I aksed him "where are you going?"

He replying "I'm going to fly!" With an excitement voice and with a very lovely smiles he said "farewell"

And I clearly remember I said "this isn't a farewel!!" And then I woke up and I checked my phone, and I found out that he's gone....

This man is the one who has a big impact on my childhood. Hagrid makes me believe about magic and he's the one who makes me believe that in this cruel world still, there is a people as kind and as pure as him....

Rest in peace hagrid, hogwarts never be the same without you, and I will never be the same without you, you changed me forever....
