[ meet the prisoners! (t2 edition) ] prisoner 009: kuroki riku
Tumblr media
OH GOD THIS BOY... THIS BOY. yeah, even though he got voted inno, riku is still. um. yeah he's going through it. he's happy with his verdict though.
(Warning: Riku's extremely self-destructive habits aren't described in detail here (it's more about why he does those things and not how he does them), but they are still mentioned and they're still a big part of his character)
General info.
T1 Verdict: Riku was voted innocent which is probably supposed to be a good thing.. except it's kinda not. Riku's ideas were affirmed, so he still thinks that his crime "wasn't even a crime" and his victim deserved it, but he also started treating other people a bit.. differently, possibly hinting at how exactly his crime went. Him telling Akio to "go and die" instead of just asking him to leave him alone is a good example. Perhaps now he thinks that it's a normal thing to do and that all people that he doesn't like deserve to die. Or maybe he's just really emotional and impulsive. Or maybe both. Also, if we're talking about Riku's ideas and thoughts.. It should be mentioned that you can not only change (or at least try to change) the prisoners' thoughts about their crimes, you can change their entire mindset. And so.. Not only Riku's thoughts about his crime were affirmed, but his thoughts about himself, his life and other people were as well. Which means, sadly, he thinks that he was forgiven not because the guards really do think he's innocent and they think his crime isn't that serious, but because of how he tried to make them feel sorry for him when he had cut himself. And now he thinks that it's the only way to make them forgive him and that they won't "feel his pain" if they won't be able to see it with their own eyes. It's like he sees his own pain as a "performance" of some kind and the guards as his "audience".. Or maybe he actually has a bigger audience to impress than he thinks? Well, if we want to talk about something that isn't as sad, he got a new outfit and a new dye job. He's used to dyeing his hair without any help, so he was able to do it himself. For some reason, he's not exactly satisfied with it though, so he will most likely change it later. When Miki asked him about it, he just laughed and said that it "reminds him of someone that he would rather forget".
T2 Personality: .. Listen, it was pretty much impossible to fix this guy between Trial 1 and Trial 2. So even though he got voted innocent, it's hard to say that he's more confident now, like Shun, or more calm, like Naomi. Yes, he absolutely thinks he was in the right, but.. at what cost? He has at least one mental breakdown every week and he has two broken guitars in his cell now. There are multiple reasons why Riku is acting like this now and one of them is that again, he genuinely thinks that the guards voted him innocent only because of what he did to himself. And he wants them to forgive him again, so he really wants them to understand just how much pain he had felt while being friends with his victim. You think he just wants them to feel sorry? You think he's just doing it for the attention?.. He doesn't really want to admit it, but it's kinda true. He doesn't think it's a bad thing though. Of course he wants attention. He literally lives for it. And if this is how he can make people look at him, then he's okay with bleeding to death in front of his audience. He doesn't want to.. you know, actually die, but if this is the only way he can make people notice him and feel the same emotions and pain that he's feeling, then he will do it. Just please, look at him. Don't leave him alone. Ah, speaking of that. Yeah, another reason why he's acting like this is that Riku is very lonely now. He's so used to being surrounded by friends and people who adore him and want to be like him or with him that he just can't accept the fact that he has like zero friends in this prison now.. Except one person, though their relationship is actually pretty hard to explain.
T2 Relationship dynamics:
Riku claims that what happened between him and Akio was completely Akio's fault and that he had "provoked" him to say what he ended up saying. Except when the guards asked him about what Akio told him, Riku refused to explain. Some other prisoners said that they only heard Akio begging Riku to tell him that everything will be fine and he still likes him. Riku says that there was more than that and that he really did have a reason to basically tell Akio to go and kill himself. Riku avoids Akio and if he sees him somewhere, he either immediately leaves or tries not to look at him and just ignores him. If Akio tries to talk to him, Riku says that he has to go and again, he just leaves. When Miki asked him if he feels sorry for Akio, he couldn't answer and just turned away from her.
Aimi and Riku are not even pretending to be friends anymore. Riku doesn't try to act nice and polite around her anymore and Aimi refuses to forgive him and if he even looks at Akio, she will leave with her new friend right after that. Riku is not really sad about it since, to be honest, he never really liked Aimi and was friendly with her only because he didn't want to ruin his reputation since most prisoners were nice to her (even if they also weren't sincere about it). He actually feels more free in a way just like he did after his crime even if that feeling didn't last long.
Riku and Miki's relationship is really complicated. Are they just a guard and a prisoner? Are they friends? Are they lovers? They don't know either. But there's definitely something going on between them. Riku is very attached to her and really wants her to give him more attention but since the girl is very busy with the prisoners' requests, everyone's verdicts, taking care of the prisoners and making sure nobody kills each other, it's not really possible. Asahi is also very protective of her and he doesn't want her to become closer with any of the prisoners, including Riku, so yeah, that kid doesn't let him spend time with her too. Miki is attracted to him, but it's hard to say if she really does want to be in a relationship with him. She really does want to protect him, but does she see him as someone who is actually very important to her or does she see him as another "poor thing that needs to be saved"? However, Riku does flirt with her sometimes and he even asked if she would be okay with dating him after (or if) they get out and Miki, without even thinking, said yes. She regrets it just a little bit now. Because of their relationship's strange nature, Riku doesn't use any honorifics when he talks about Miki anymore meanwhile Miki isn't sure how to refer to him anymore and sometimes she doesn't use any of them either, though she usually "corrects" herself. In his voice drama she refers to him as "Riku-san", using his first name instead of his last name, just like she did in his first VD.
Music info.
Milgram cover: Surprisingly, he gets Half. Totally not because I didn't know what else to give him. Maybe it could be like.. a very soft rock-like cover?? I don't know how to explain it. Oh, but if you're thinking that this song fits him because of his relationship with his friend.. Well, not exactly, because I actually see this cover as Riku pretending to feel sorry for his victim. Like, look at him, he's singing a sad song about his friend who died because of him, don't you want to forgive him? I can even imagine his cover sounding kinda fake, like, it would still sound very pretty, but you'd be able to tell that Riku doesn't actually feel anything and he doesn't actually care about his victim. Asahi's cover would be more emotional compared to Riku's.
DECO*27 cover: NOW THIS IS AN INTERESTING ONE. You see, there were two songs I had in mind for him and I was like "Okay, we'll use this one for T2 and this one for T3", but.. then I looked at his MV and his VD and realized that him getting the song I wanted to use for T2 wouldn't really make sense, because his MV and VD are more about his backstory, what kind of person he is and how exactly his crime went, but the song I chose was more about his relationship with his victim and his motive and I'm planning to show it in his T3 MV. And the T3 song was actually perfect for his T2 MV, even though I feel like it has more of a "Guilty" vibe, than "Innocent" one (which is also another reason why I wanted to keep the original T2 song at first).. So anyway, he gets Chimera! IT'S SO PERFECT FOR HIM I CAN'T. (And yes, his Chimera cover would sound VERY emotional compared to Half, like he would be basically on the same level as Aimi in her After Pain cover, which means lots of screaming)
Different Vocaloid producer cover: I really did have a song I wanted to use for him this season and I had one in mind since I even came up with his character, but.. then Better Off Worse by Circus-P came out. Yeah, I just had to keep that song for T3 instead. And yeah, I imagine this one as a rock cover too! NO BUT THE LYRICS FIT HIM SO WELL IT HURTS ("Making sure that I feel pain, getting in a bitter headspace", "You listen when it hurts too much to bear", "Overanalyze my broken heart as the tempo kicks up a notch", "Because I know my woes are a product to be consumed", "Bleed out for audience approval, tragic but perfectly on schedule, you think by now that we would have learned, behind every piece of art is a human to be heard") Like this song describes exactly how he's feeling right now.. And also, fun fact: Riku is one of the bilingual/multilingual characters along with Akio, Kei and a couple of others! Another fun (or not so) fact: I was actually thinking of assigning this song to Kei at first.
His T2 Trailer Voicelines:
"Good morning~ Hehe, Miki, you look as cute as ever. Ah, Eiji-san, you're here too. Do you two need something? Oh, you just came to tell me about the second trial? Interesting.. Well, I guess I'll just have to prove my innocence to you again. Hm? Why are you looking at me like that?.. Ah.. I'm fine. Please, don't worry about me."
"Oh no.. Looks like the whole school hates you now. I wonder why, you're such a nice person.. Why would they hate someone as kind as you? Can you show me what they posted about you?"
His T2 Song Trailer Voiceline:
"One word and I'll do it."
Trivia:
I think I remember mentioning that Riku's image color was actually supposed to be a dark shade of green at first but then I changed it to orange, so I wanted to use that as his second image color, but when I was working on his album cover.. um. I realized that it looks kinda bad, so I changed it to a much brighter shade of green instead.
His second T2 Trailer voiceline is actually supposed to sound a bit fake, like he still sounds like he really is sorry, but you can't help but feel like he's only pretending or even mocking the person he's talking to.
I think I've never mentioned this before and I'm not sure if that was easy to tell, but Riku's natural hair color is black, so in the first season he only had these colorful highlights (?) going on and nothing else. I actually remember that when I first came up with his character design, his natural hair color was supposed to be a very soft and pastel shade of pink and Riku was supposed to be embarrassed of it, but I changed it. Another random fact is that his little sisters also have black hair, but his older brother's natural hair color is light brown.
Yes, he wants to be voted innocent this time too. He really does believe he did nothing wrong and that his "sin" can't even be considered a sin.
This was stated in the "Personality" section, but this guy literally has no one to talk to except Miki. Literally no one. Pretty much everyone either ignores him, avoids him, finds him scary and too unstable or simply thinks he's annoying, which is sad to think about because 1) Riku's T2 version is closer to his "real" personality, which means that when he's not acting like a cheerful and sociable popular boy, people stop caring about him and 2) People either can't stop him when he starts hurting himself again or they just pretend not to see it or they genuinely don't care. Again, Miki is the only one who can stop him when that happens and can calm him down.
I'm trying my best not to spoil anything, but if you want to try and guess how exactly Riku's MV is going to look like and what's gonna happen there, read his song preview lyrics again and try to, like.. Think about them more. The weirdest idea that comes to your mind is probably the correct one.
He's another character that gets a VD that actually shows him as someone who probably should be forgiven, but his MV shows him as someone who's more guilty and has this.. really creepy and weird atmosphere (in my opinion) going on.

Just like how kalim embodies scarabia's mindfulness in his own way, how do you think other boys embodies their respective dorms spirit?
Tumblr media
For the sake of ease and consistency, I will be using the official TWST localization's terms for each dorm's core value.
Please note: these are my personal interpretations; even the definitions of each dorm’s “spirit” is not explicitly defined within official TWST materials, so I’ll be running with my own definitions before covering each NRC student. Additionally, since I’ll be covering 22 characters in this post I may not have time to get into painstaking detail for each one.
***Main story spoilers (including late book 7) below the cut!!***
The Queen of Hearts' Spirit of Strictness
Literally speaking, strictness refers to following rules or beliefs exactly. There is rigid enforcement of these rules or beliefs, and very few, if any, exceptions or mercy granted.
Right off the bat, it’s easy to see how Riddle aligns with the spirit of strictness. He is the embodiment the law in Heartslabyul, serving as both judge and executioner to his students. Riddle insists that the rules—no matter how nonsensical—be followed, and he does not hesitate to unleash his wrath and collar those who step out of line. He is strictness itself. Beyond book 1, we do see Riddle trying to be more patient and flexible—however, the fact remains that he upholds rules and continues to have trouble with circumstances where he has to think independently or without a set of instructions to refer to.
Trey is known for frequently indulging others and behaving in a manner which some may call kind. The twist here is that Trey’s strictness is present in the “big brother” role he adopts when dealing with his peers. He’s generally more lenient than Riddle, but Trey often alludes to the fact that he shouldn’t be underestimated or thought of as a nice guy. There are moments when Trey gives others their comeuppance for misbehaving (such as in his dorm uniform vignettes, where he deprives first years of cake for complaining about his same-y baked goods). The thing is, most don’t see it coming because he’s typically so… nice. When he wants to be stern and put his foot down, he certainly can—it just isn’t something that happens a lot, since he’s more mild-mannered than his classmates.
Cater is strict with his public image, specifically how his peers view him. This is most obviously seen in his obsession with social media. He's constantly taking pictures and posting, being heavily involved on Magicam—a space where he can control the narrative about the type of person he is and the life he has. Cater keeps up this front in real life as well, acting cheery and sociable with his classmates while masking a far less motivated and sad side to his character. (This is implied in his Lab Wear vignettes, where a mandrake he infuses with his own magic becomes gloomy and huddles into itself.) There are occasions when Cater expresses that he is lonely or that he wishes he had more friends growing up, but he never fully opens up about his true nature. He strictly keeps that part of himself locked up tight and is seemingly afraid of what others would think of that persona.
Like Cater, Deuce is strict with himself. In Deuce's case, this arises from a past of delinquency and the desire to reform and to be an honors student that his mom can be proud of. Because of these goals, Deuce tries very hard to excel in class (but often falls short) and to behave in a way that he believes honors students would. This means changing the way he looks (he let his natural hair color come back in; it used to be bleached blonde), the way he speaks (not using foul language), the way he dresses, and, most importantly, the way he acts. Of course, his temper gets the best of him at times and his delinquent self bubbles back up (like in book 1 when the eggs were ruined), and Deuce is currently working on better repressing that.
Ace is probably the most carefree and the least stereotypically "strict" of the Heartslabyul group. Instead of having a focus on enforcing rules, Ace is usually the one breaking or defying them. How, then, does he embody the Queen of Hearts' spirit of strictness? I believe it comes through in some of Ace's most iconic scenes: the ones where he is calling others out on their bull crap. Time and time again, it's Ace that is bluntly telling others what they're doing or saying is hypocritical or wrong, or that they haven't truly taken accountability. He does this no matter who he is facing, be that his own dorm leader (book 1), an undead bride (Ghost Marriage), or Malleus Draconia himself (Endless Halloween Night). Ace has his own set of morals and beliefs, and he speaks them loud and clear without imposing as harshly as Riddle does.
The King of Beasts' Spirit of Persistence
Persistence is when one continues their course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition. In other words, there is an obstacle in the way of achieving a goal, and one persists in the face of that obstacle.
Leona is a somewhat strange case to make for persistence because initially he comes off as a very lazy character. We quickly learn that though he appears unmotivated, he’s comfortable scheming and thinking multiple steps ahead to cut out difficult or unnecessary work. There’s no doubt that Leona has had a challenging childhood, feeling like he was always being compared to his brother and never recognized for his own talents. We feel the effects of Leona losing this hope as late as book 6, when Leona says that Jamil is capable of change, unlike himself. Some fans even speculate that Leona’s dialogue implies he has fallen into depression as a result of frequently being dismissed and put down in spite of his efforts to be seen. Even when Leona is dealing with such trauma, he cooks up a plot to return his dorm to glory and to support its future. He, the lowly second born prince, wants to prove himself and his team of misfits, as being worthy of respect and admiration. When the plans fall through, Leona is quick to give up (which seems to go against the idea of Savanaclaw’s persistence). However, I would say this is part of his character growth in book 2. Later in the main story, Leona also throws in the towel quickly—but it doesn’t contradict his development; he knows when to strategically retreat in book 6.
Ruggie comes from an extremely impoverished background. He has had perhaps the least “cushy” life out of the entire NRC cast. Even so, Ruggie was able to study and work hard enough to earn decent grades, get multiple part-time jobs, and pick up many useful survival skills. He’s street smart and knows that what he lacks in strength he can make up for by sticking to someone who is strong (Leona). (Their relationship is mutually beneficial!!) Ruggie knows that just having money isn’t sustainable in the long run, so he’s hauling ass now to make something of not only himself, but also for all the people in the slums.
Jack embodies persistence through the events of book 2. At first, Jack tries to get Leona to see reason by letting him know that he genuinely is a figure Jack admires. He’s put in a moral dilemma when Leona argues that even if they play dirty, he has good intentions. If Jack interferes, he is messing with the future job prospects of his dorm members. Jack wrestles with the question before ultimately coming to the conclusion that he has to tell others about it—and, what’s more, put his own pride as a lone wolf aside to confront Leona and stop to his machinations.
The Sea Witch's Spirit of Benevolence
Benevolence may refer to meaning well or general kindness and compassion. It involves a willingness to help others and caring for them.
Azul, being at the head of the operations at Octavinelle, passes himself off as a benevolent man who will listen to your woes and grant your wishes. In fact, he does—but at a price. The shady ring he’s running is NOT wholly benevolent; the deals can definitely come across as malevolent in book 3 (when Azul wrote the contracts in such a way that the loopholes could fuck clients over). The deals themselves (assuming no foul play), however, are neutral since both parties agree to the terms. Contracts are written with the idea that they will benefit the clients. And Azul is, of course, also seeking out benefits for himself, as that is the nature of business dealings.
Jade represents a kind of benevolence associated with acts of service. He’s Azul’s right-hand man and information broker—furthermore, much of how Jade presents himself alludes to being a butler or some other supportive role. Jade just generally behaves in a way which benefits others. He acts demure and servile, then uses the trust he has gained through service to ply what he wants out of others. Jade does it so sweetly and so expertly that his prey don’t usually notice, or willfully overlook it, being far too impressed by his abilities to fixate on his ulterior motives. This strategy works even on notoriously stern individuals such as Vil (Jade Dorm Uniform vignettes).
Floyd gives “free hugs” :) is… well, ironically, the “kindest” of the trio in a weird way. While this is highly dependent on his mood, the fact of the matter is that Floyd is the easiest to read in terms of “telegraphing” his actions. If he’s in a bad mood, he usually will not hide it. You know what you’re signing up for as soon as you see him. He also typically doesn’t put forth an effort to manipulate or to scheme like Azul or Jade would; Floyd would prefer to be direct and get it over with already. That, in a sense, is the mercy that he offers: something swift and plain to see.
The Sorcerer of the Sands' Spirit of Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a state of being aware of oneself and the present moment. A mindful individual can aknowledge and accept one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Mindfulness may also extend to being aware of others and perceiving their own states of being.
Kalim is not viewed as the most intelligent or crafty of leaders, but where he shines is in his ability to welcome and to bond with his dorm mates. His emotional intelligence is extremely high, which proves itself to be a useful skill in getting to know others and to earn their trust. Kalim has made a name for himself in Scarabia because he is always there to listen and lend a helping hand to his dormmates. He is unabashedly open about his own emotions too, crying when he is sad and trying hard when he is frustrated or dissatisfied. He often asks to know what is wrong when he senses upset within his classmates and wants to do what he can to rectify those situations. This is peak mindfulness--not only is Kalim acutely aware of his own emotional state, but he's also pretty consistent with sensing those in others (the one big exception here, of course, is Jamil). Sometimes Kalim can be blindsided by his own blind faith in others or his overeagerness causing him to blurt things out unintentionally. He's definitely not perfect in this regard--however, there's plenty of room and willingness to grow and to learn (something which Kalim has expressed both in book 5 and in birthday vignettes).
Jamil more readily fits in with a less savory interpretation of mindfulness. He thinks ahead and uses what he knows of others to manipulate them or put himself in an advantageous position. This notably occurs in book 4 (when Jamil plans to use the feedback of Yuu and the Scarabia members to dethrone Kalim), as well as in events (like Beans Day, where he plans to entrap Kalim when Kalim cooks a fragrant lunch that Jamil purposefully packed for him). He uses what he notices or knows about others (Azul’s shadiness, rumors about Lilia being a bad cook) to avoid interactions which could be less than beneficial to him. Jamil’s main fault is that he fails to recognize people’s strengths (something which Leona calls him out for in book 6), and instead focuses mainly on their weaknesses, shortcomings, and how those could be exploited (mostly because he’s in a position where he cannot outright act in certain ways without suffering some consequences). Jamil is aware of these potential consequences and finds or plans workarounds for them. However, he is also mindful in a more conventional sense too. He’s usually the competent one in Scarabia’s leadership and fulfills the organizational tasks that Kalim doesn’t. The duo is like sun and moon; they balance each other out.
The Beautiful Queen's Spirit of Tenacity
Simply put, tenacity is determination and endurance. One is persistent in maintaining, adhering to, or seeking something valued or desired. Each of the members of Pomefiore knows what they want, and they are stubborn in their pursuit of it.
Vil makes it clear in book 5 that he wants to win VDC/SDC, thereby proving to himself and to the world that he is capable of more than playing the part of a “villain”. He already had high standards for himself prior to book 5 (exercising, doing skincare, maintaining a healthy diet, etc.), but you can see how single minded Vil is toward this one goal. He drives his team members hard and even cancels a major job offer from his manager so he can dedicate all his time and energy into seizing the win. And how many times has Vil lost in the past??? Countless, I bet. Yet here he is, trying again and again, even when he knows that happy endings aren’t guaranteed and his efforts may not bear fruit after all.
Rook pursues any and all things beautiful!! He used to just be content admiring beauty, but with Vil’s prompting, Rook soon also found value in beautifying himself. It means Rook can also put beauty out into the world, and helps him better appreciate other works of art. This man is infamous around campus for his… admittedly creepy and unnerving habits. He follows people around, documents them in photographs, memorizes their personal details, etc. His keen eye has also earned him praise though—Vil can comfortably rely on him for honest feedback, and Neige recognizes him as a dedicated member of his fan club. Rook is nothing if not determined and dedicated to his craft.
Epel is tenacious too, but in a way that Vil would not approve of in all circumstances. Epel is stubborn in his thinking and refuses to let go of his hometown roots. He’s very proud of where he comes from, so he puts up a fight with Vil when Vil demands that Epel address his upperclassmen more politely. Epel sees the command as a threat to himself, and a challenge to the hometown he loves. Additionally, it takes Epel a while to reevaluate his deeply ingrained views on gender norms. He’s all-around very strong-headed!
The King of the Underworld's Spirit of Diligence
Diligence is when one is involved in careful and persistent work or effort. This principle generally governs all of STYX, the blot research organization operated by the Shroud family. Their job is a thankless one—they do such important work, yet it isn’t recognized by the general public due to STYX’s secretive nature.
Idia, as the temporary acting director of STYX in book 6, gets involved in their research. There’s many Phantoms kept in the STYX facility, so there are many safety precautions in place and care taken to ensure no one is harmed. (Ironically, it was Idia’s lack of diligence that led to Ortho’s passing.) Outside of book 6, one can say that Idia has a diligent personality, at least when it comes to his hyperfixations. He becomes dedicated to media that captures his interests to the point where it actually incentivizes him to leave his room (Ghost Marriage) and overcome his meek stutter to speak confidently and lecture people (first Halloween event, his Dorm Uniform vignettes, etc.).
I believe Ortho is diligent in being Idia’s emotional support both before and after Ortho is officially recognized as a separate student. He cheers Idia on and encourages him to touch grass socialize, wishing nothing but the best for his big brother! Ortho wasn’t always like this either; he used to be quite stiff and monotone, and had to learn how to emulate emotions by carefully observing and absorbing media. His motivation in book 6 is also fueled by diligence—Ortho worries about what he can do to support Idia’s wishes, and this is ultimately what drives him to taking over STYX and unleashing the Phantoms. Then, in Fairy Gala: What If, Ortho stubbornly tries to come up with his own ideas regarding the theme of evolution rather than rely on others for answers. He works hard to developing his own concept and is able to put on a show-stopping performance with it!
The Thorn Fairy's Spirit of Nobility
To be noble can refer to strength of character, mind, and/or literal position, birth, rank, or social status. No matter which definition you go with, I think they could all apply to the members of Diasomnia.
Regarding noble status, Malleus and Silver are both princes. Lilia and Sebek may not be nobles themselves, but they (in addition to Silver) serve royalty and have close personal connections to people in high places, be it via friends or via family. Diasomnia is very well-connected.
Beyond superficial nobility, one can say that those in Diasomnia are noble in character as well. To begin with, Lilia has sacrificed himself for his country on multiple occasions. This isn’t limited to going to battle, but also ferrying his princess’s egg to safety, traveling the world for knowledge on dragon eggs, and going so far as to give up his own life force to hatch Malleus. And what does Lilia get for all of this? Banished from the capital, screamed at, shunned—all because he is a nobody, a bat of no status. Despite this, Lilia does not become bitter nor hateful, he instead opens his heart and mind to the world and seeks to instill others with the same wisdom. Through all the tragedies he suffered, Lilia rose stronger than ever rather than sinking to the same levels as the narrow minded senators that rebuked him.
Silver is, perhaps, the most overtly noble in character. He extols the virtues of listening and getting along with others, often serving as the peacemaker between parties (typically between Sebek and their peers, but we’ve also seen Silver smoothing things out between all of NRC and diurnal fae). He also assumes the best of others and is ready to leap into action to protect them at a moment’s notice. His kind and gentle nature attracts many forest animals to him, who can likely sense the purity of Silver’s heart.
Sebek’s brand of nobility isn’t geared at others in general but rather is pinpointed on one person (that being Malleus). He is noble in the sense that he dedicates himself to his prince. It’s no secret that practically everything Sebek does is to “live up” to perceived standards so as to not shame Malleus or the Draconia royal family—from doing well academically to dressing neatly and throwing himself into training… Sebek’s passion and eagerness is what makes him stand out. It could also be said that he fiercely defends his friends and those who have earned his respect (albeit maybe not worded in the most tactful ways). That, too, in a sense, is honorable.
Finally, we have Malleus. What can be said about him that hasn’t already been said? He is the prince of a nation, so there are many people looking to him for leadership. As such, Malleus must always conduct himself in a manner that puts his country’s best face forward and expects the same of others. Indeed, he reprimands Sebek for behaving in poor taste and instructs him to apologize to Leona, the prince of another nation. However, what is most telling about Malleus is his impetus for Overblotting. He deludes himself into thinking “this is what is best for everyone”. In his mind, he frames forcing everyone into dream states so they can stay forever and have their happily ever afters as the “good” and “noble” thing to do. He’s definitely not doing this for himself, he argues, it’s a gift for everyone. And throughout book 7, Malleus tries to gaslight others into this belief too 💀 when bro’s already convinced himself of this and refuses to see otherwise—

"Would you indulge me?"
Your eyes dart up from the page to his face. L looks at you like he always does ─ an intent yet oddly distant stare that used to make goosebumps appear on your arms. Nowadays you're somewhat re-accustomed to his mannerisms. He doesn't blink much, tends to stand behind your back whenever possible, likes to play with his food and enjoys invading your personal space far too much to be deemed socially acceptable.
His habits are strange but harmless.
"No," you say, just to be contrary.
L is fond of making things sound simple, and then — snap! — the trap is shut, and you find yourself doing a completely different activity than initially expected.
"I want to kiss you."
"N-" You blink and lower your book down, not bothering to mark it. "What?"
"Kissing is an act of physical intimacy between individuals," he says like it's an obvious fact and you're merely slow on the uptake. L's expression doesn't change, neutral despite this being anything but a normal conversation starter even by your standards ─ admittedly low.
"Thank you for enlightening me about the definition," you lean back against the cushions, "still no."
"Why not?" He asks after a momentary pause.
"Because I don't want to."
A simple answer to a weird request. You try to resume reading, but there're other things currently occupying your brain ─ namely the attempts to understand what prompted such inquiry.
L never asked for physical contact before; platonic or otherwise. Sure he tried to entice you into spending time with him through bargain and manipulation, and you pretended to be oblivious enough to earn an Oscar for your acting skills. However, there never was any talk of kissing involved. Any kind of touching, actually.
He hums. "Would you like me to explain my reasons?"
Sometimes you think that the sole cause of L's existence is just so he could annoy people for kicks. His questions are always peculiar, and you've learned that every single one of them is designed to lead towards some specific conclusion, preferably the one he wants. You have a feeling that if you say 'yes', L will proceed to list a hundred points about why kissing is good. And then another hundred why kissing him specifically is beneficial.
"No."
He looks at you. You look at him and raise the book higher.
"Indulging me would benefit both of us," L says, undeterred. "You're very curious by nature and I find it quite fascinating that you're able to deny your curiosity in this particular case."
Has a more obvious bait ever existed anywhere in human history? Probably not, and you'll bet your entire life savings on it too.
"I'm not curious," you lie, "now leave me alone. I want to read."
He leans forward. "You haven't focused on the book since I asked my question."
Smartass. You purse your lips and pretend that the characters are suddenly so interesting, that it's hard to look away from the intricacies of the plot unfolding inside this fictional world. At least things there make sense; no need to figure out the hidden meanings behind other people's words, because they are mostly transparent when there's a whole paragraph dedicated to the protagonist's feelings.
He reminds you of those spider-like creatures from documentaries ─ their actions seem random at first glance, yet upon further scrutiny prove to be anything but. Instead, they're meticulously crafted and executed to obtain maximum results.
L studies you for a little while longer, and eventually pads towards the kitchenette. The kettle whistles soon after as he makes himself tea; mint flavored, judging by the aroma wafting through the air.
______________________________________________________
You should have known that he won't give up ─ L is just as persistent as you are stubborn. If anything, you've set a challenge before him, and he tends to fixate on those until they are solved: a fact well-known and accepted among those who ever had a (dis)pleasure of interacting with him.
He doesn't outright ask you again, not the next day or the one after that. No. Accidentally, the only type of movies you're able to watch now are rom-coms or dramas with lots of kissing scenes sprinkled here and there between the banter bordering on cringe; sweet confessions spoken over candlelit dinners; passionate declarations whispered during sunsets... Clichés, amore, and kisses galore.
"I'm not sure this is the best movie for the evening," you say, as the screen flickers with images of two leads gazing into each other's eyes like they found the answers to every single question asked.
"The reviews are quite positive," L replies, munching on caramel popcorn.
"Reviews can be faked. And the trailer was misleading. I thought it was going to be an action movie."
"It is an action movie. The genres are listed right there," he points at the screen, and the words 'romance and action' stare back at you.
You frown and settle deeper into the couch cushions. It's uncomfortable ─ watching romantic scenes with L in the same room. His presence doesn't feel oppressive or demanding, yet you can't shake off the squirmy, twisty feeling. The kind when you enter an elevator with someone else and get slightly agitated for no reason. And so you try to slow down your breathing, but it only makes things worse. Your heart beats faster, palms start sweating and the hypothetical elevator stranger inevitably thinks that you're weird.
L isn't an elevator stranger. He's the owner of the elevator, and the entire building, and the city.
"He's going to die in the next ten minutes," you mutter.
"No, he won't."
"Yes, he will."
L hums. "Want a bet?"
Your eyes narrow.
"If he survives past the fifteen minute mark," L says slowly, "you indulge me."
"And if he doesn't?"
"I leave you alone for two days."
There's no hesitation on his side. None whatsoever, which proves suspicious immediately ─ L never offers something unless certain about the outcome beforehand, whether by logical deduction or calculated gamble. Probability factors run inside his brain instead of blood cells and grey matter, calculating risk vs return ratio quicker than any computer ever could.
You glance at the screen. It's a simple plot. There were a twist or two earlier, sure, but overall nothing extraordinary that would require hours upon hours of critical thinking to unravel.
A man, a woman. A handsome villain who wants them dead, for various reasons. They run and fight, shoot guns, dodge punches, and kiss between those because apparently there's time for romance even when a life is on the line.
It's a very simple plot; and two days are a lot to pretend that L doesn't exist. That you got rich enough to buy this kind of apartment.
"The speakers?"
"Switched off."
"The cameras?"
"Those will stay."
Of course, they will. You wouldn't expect anything less ─ privacy issues are non-existent here in more ways than one.
L isn't always a presence. Sometimes he leaves and you're alone with nothing but books and TV to pass time, but two days sound wonderful regardless. There's something in empty spaces that's enticing, even if they're temporary. L, for all his peculiarities, isn't too bad of a company. He's quiet, and often busy with his own matters. But he also has this way of looking at you that is unnerving. Like you're interesting. Or important. Or simply fascinating.
Sometimes he wants to talk, he wants to listen, he wants to ask questions and give answers until everything blurs into an amalgamation of words. It's exhausting.
Two days sound good. His hand is dry and slender. You grasp it and shake it once.
"I'll start the timer now," L says after your hands separate.
______________________________________________________
Twelve minutes.
Three more and he's dead.
You wish that he'd just kick the bucket already, so you could spend the next forty eight hours in pure, undiluted bliss.
_______________________________________________________
The male lead dies after seventeen minutes.
When the credits roll over, the apartment is silent except for the soft buzzing of electronics. You look at the screen, stubbornly, because you don't want to look at him, the owner of the elevator, and the building, and the city.
"It was close," he comments, as if trying to comfort you, which makes it even more of a sore spot.
That’s what L thrives on ─ technicalities, loopholes, small and seemingly insignificant details which are easily overlooked, yet make a great difference. You're not sure if you're annoyed, or disappointed. And what’s more important ─ at whom.
You have known for years that L tends to get his way eventually whenever there's something specific caught up in that head of his; a fixation which refuses to leave until satisfied, and sometimes even after. Snap. You can get up and head out of the living room, you know you can. Will you though is another question entirely.
L isn't a typical captor ─ he doesn't demand or force you into things. He simply presents a possibility and waits. Not aggressive or domineering, not sadistic. But oh he is a PhD of holding a grudge. Leaving now probably means waking up tomorrow and finding that every single disk has vanished without a trace, along with the bookshelves being switched for some obscure scientific texts on chemistry, physics and other things that require an advanced degree to fully understand.
Because someone decided that you don’t deserve entertainment anymore. Because someone is petty enough to deprive you of basic mental stimuli, and is stubborn enough to hold onto that decision even when reasoned with. Unsuccessfully.
It's a talent really, this particular brand of making your life miserable in many small ways, so they accumulate into something greater over time until you feel like the walls are closing in slowly but surely.
You can't back out, even though no one openly stops you from doing so. And L knows that. And he knows that you know. His lips twitch and curl upward before flattening again into neutral territory.
There's a theory that if you pull a band-aid fast enough, it won't hurt as much. The credibility behind it is questionable.
You exhale and meet L's gaze ─ his posture hasn't changed from the beginning to the end of the film, knees tucked to his chest, eyes two dark pools that stare without blinking. His fingers drum a steady rhythm, and that's probably the only sign that gives it away.
Anticipation.
"Fine," you say finally.
His mouth opens before closing back again. L doesn't move a bit.
He wants you to do it, you realize. Wants you to initiate instead of just allowing it. What an ass.
You squish his cheeks between your palms until his lips pucker outwards. L makes a soft noise of surprise but doesn't try to fight back.
Black lashes cast a shadow across his skin. There's no perfume or cologne, no distinct smell ─ he uses plain soap and shampoo which don't have a discernible aroma.
"I believe I was promised an indulgence," L says, voice muffled a bit by your hands on his face.
He looks like a fish this way. A silly, ridiculous image that would make you snort if not for the situation at hand.
Band-aids and ripping them off.
You sigh, lean forward, and press your mouth to his.
He tastes like caramel popcorn.
Mint tea.
Indulgence.
The angle is awkward, and L doesn't move an inch to accommodate the position. He stays still like a block of solid rock, not a single muscle twitches, and doesn't even attempt to reciprocate. You have half a mind to think that maybe he's mocking you, but then his fingers lightly curl on the fabric of his jeans. L's eyelids flutter half-closed when your noses bump, then open again right after. Another oddity added to the pile.
It lasts no longer than ten seconds before you pull away. L blinks. Touches his lower lip with the tip of a finger and rubs it like searching for traces left by the contact.
"You were promised an indulgence," you remind him, trying to sound calm, collected, but your ears and neck feel hot, "not a make-out session."
Technicalities and loopholes.
L has that look you can't quite pinpoint yet know far too well. You've seen it many times before. When he thinks about something but keeps it to himself for now.
"You look more lively," he remarks eventually. "Healthy complexion suits you."
You don't need to hear what he says next, because the words already ring through your head.
"I told you it would benefit us both."

Honestly I think Bad and the Late Night Trio is my favorite dynamic that's come out of the QSMP.
And I'm not just talking about qBad, Dapper, Pomme and Richas I'm also talking about ccBad, Dappmin, Pommin and Ricardão.
It's just the little things they do, because they're just so used to each other by now and the adms have become such good friends because of the amount of time they spend together on and off the server.
There's just so many examples that stick in my head because they're just so sweet when you realize that none of this people knew each other this time last year.
Like the time when Richas just showed up in front of Bad randomly one day after the reset (the day that Dapper set up the magnet mining machine) and just went;
"Dapper told me through the magic of discord to come see the cool stuff you've been doing, what am I here to see tio?"
Or when Bad and Dapper were out investigating and Dapper puts down a sign saying;
"Richas won't stop telepathically asking if he can come visit."
To which Bad just offhandedly replies
"If he can Dragon Magic his way here then sure, but I am not walking all the way home already."
And sure enough, a few minutes later we hear Richas' horn sound out as he appears out of the blue, having finally been given permission by Dappmin to join their exploration
Not to mention the amount of times we've arrived and been told by Bad; "So heres what [Richas or Pomme or Dapper or any combination of those 3] and I did off stream. "
Or "No Richas I'm not leaving I'm just sending the Ghosties off."
Or when Bad was attempting to figure out how to bribe Richas into keeping his armour on in Lucky Ducks by figuring out what he loved the most before going
"If you don't put your armour on I'll take away fofoca time."
And then explained to the chat that 'fofoca time' is what Richas calls it when he and Bad hang out after stream and that got Richas to put his armour on immediately.
Or even today when Bad threatened to end stream in order to make Richas use a heart container.
Not to mention the night Pommin and Ricardão spent with ccBad training him in battleship before that day in Purgatory 2 or the night they spent modifying the egg signs together.
My favorite example of how close they are even outside of their characters will still forever be the night when Bad, Richas and Pomme were collecting ice together to cover the favela ocean and Ricardão and Pommin were very obviously sat in a vc together while the mined.
They spent a while teaching Bad and the other how to pronounce certain sounds in their native languages.
Then Richarlyson asked Bad about a sound he struggled with in English so Bad taught Ricardão how to make the 'th' sound in the English language correctly while Pommin judged the noise they were making because Bad obviously couldn't hear.
Then later Bad asks Pomme where Richas went since he wasn't visible on the map and she just stands there before telling him that she knows the location and taking him to the exact coordinates.
And they do that a couple times until Bad finally decides to sneak up on Richas and scares Ricardão so bad that he stops moving completely in game for a solid minute and Pommin is just keyboard smashing on signs because she's laughing too hard at how loudly they screamed.
And then Ricardão had to go afk for a couple minutes later on because someone had come to check on them since they'd screamed so loud so early in the morning and they had to tell them that they were, in fact, fine.
Sure right now the way they interact with each other definitely slightly breaks Bad's rp of not knowing each other, especially with Richas.
But at the end of the day when they hang out together it's not just qBad and Richarlyson, it's also Ricardão & ccBad who have spent a frankly ridiculous amount of hours playing together in the less than a year they've known each other (not counting the time Ricardão admitted to being a fan of BBH for).
In fact Ricardão confirmed to Foolish today that since the reset they're the player with the second highest playtime, after Bad, but only by a little bit, and I just think that's very fitting.
Long story short, I LOVE the late night trio and Bad's dynamic because they're just such a chaotic mess who are all willing to do anything and everything that one of them wants to do, no matter how ridiculous it sounds.
It's soooooooo hard to believe they've not even known each other for a year yet because they just all click so fucking well that it's insane.
People from 4 different nationalities, 3 of them playing speechless eggs, and they've become so close thanks to this server. I just think it's beautiful :')
(It is also 3am so I may just be rambling nonsense, so if this makes no sense forgive me xD)

Got Game? Haikyu edition !
Ranking Hiakyu characters on how good they are at hitting on people. Basically does your fave has rizz or nah?
A/n: there are sooo many haikyu characters so if I forgot your fave I'm sorry feel free to add them in wherever you want & if you disagree be nice about it or I'll bite you this took a long time there’s SO MANY OF THEM
33. Mad Dog
He’s scaring hoes. No explanation needed.
32. Aone
He was dead last until I remembered mad dog existed. He is scaring hoes as well. But like if someone could give him a chance I think he does have a good heart. He really needs to be introduced to someone or something, bc cold walking up to someone is never going to work for him I fear.
31. Ushijima
More intimidating that scary, but still makes people nervous. He’s just like super dry and has bad social skills. Does not know how to be flirty at all. He’s cute so I think on occasion there’s girls that want him enough to look past all that but honestly he will almost always strike out unless he has a wingman (Tendo) to help balance him out.
30. Sakusa
Bro is mean and grumpy. I also feel like he doesn’t really care for random hook ups anyway so he is not trying to pick up people a lot. On the occasion he does see someone he wants to approach, I just struggle to see him being flirty. Like you almost get the sense he is judging you when he’s talking to you. Which, to be fair, he probably is. He is another person who would benefit from having a wingman, though he won’t admit it. He’s getting past Ushijima by the skin of his teeth just because he isn’t as imposing.
29. Kita
Another one who I don’t see trying to approach too many people. I think he would come off as disinterested even if he did find you cute. Would probably try to flirt by asking weird philosophical questions. Does better than Sakusa bc his energy is slightly less intense.
28. Yamaguchi
He’s just too awkward. He gets super shy and flustered around anyone he thinks is cute. Sometimes gets lucky when he goes for someone who finds his shyness cute, but often is shit outta luck.
27. Tsukishima
Of course Tsukki and Yams are next to each other. Tsukki is another grumpy one, but not as intense as Sakusa. He too doesn’t approach too many people, but more than Kita or Sakusa would. I could totally see him being one of those dudes that relies on being tall for getting girls. Like he thinks he doesn’t have to try that hard since he is over 6 foot💀 I think he flirts by being mean but it comes off too mean or condescending at times. Definitely tries to be more selective with who he approaches though, won’t approach anyone he doesn’t think he has a good chance with.
26. Goshiki
Talks a big game in front of his friends, but gets really nervous in front of the person. Blushes like crazy and trips over his words. Can get past that at times, but flirting definitely doesn’t come as naturally to him.
25. Tendo
Tendo is fearless, which does help his success rate because he just will walk up to anyone he thinks is hot. Doesn't really get nervous at all. However, he is a little weird (I say that affectionately) so he's definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. Strikes out a decent amount bc of that, but honestly it doesn't really bother him at all. Will just move on to next one. He’s really just there for a good time.
24. Yamamoto
Gets very nervous around girls he thinks are hot. He gets loud when he is nervous which can freak people out. Tries his best, but either comes on really strong or really stiff. Sometimes can get past that if gets hyped up by his friends beforehand.
23. Kunimi
He’s okay at it. He’s quiet and a little snarky, which doesn’t alway connect well. I think if he is able to break the ice and get a conversation going, he has a good success rate. But if he isn’t able to get the person hooked into the conversation quickly, he fizzles out.
22. Asahi
He is like 50/50. He’s the guy who comes up to you and you get super excited because he’s cute, but he can fumble it. If he is in a nervous mood, it is really hard for him to get a convo going and be natural. Those days he is striking out more. If he is feeling confident that day, he has a really good success rate. Again, 50/50.
21. Oikawa
I know this is low but hear me out. Because girls were crazy over him in high school he really never had to try to get someone to like him. Therefore he really doesn’t have good skills in that area, especially when just approaching someone random. I think he would learn fairly quickly, but it would be a tough start.
20. Kenma
He’s kinda shy and doesn’t like approaching people bc he’s a lil lazy( but mostly nervous). However, he’s super smart and if he can figure out a way to get you to approach him, he’ll definitely do that. Can have trouble standing out to people since he is on the quieter side. But circling back to the smart thing, I think he is good at zeroing in on his type & what will get that person hooked on him. Definitely spends some time observing you before he makes a move. His success rate does go up a lot if he has a wingman, but he doesn’t NEED one like some people on this list.
 19. Tanaka
He’s very similar to Yamamoto, but I think he is just a bit better at staying calm. Just a bit. Definitely is nervous to start& can come off a little strong at first, but if you give him a chance he’s able to show he’s a good, genuine guy. Also feel like if he is with a friend his success rate goes up like crazy. Like he doesn't need the wing man to intervene for him, it’s more like having his friend there makes him feel confident and takes away his nerves. This is why he is always begging Nishinoya to come out with him.
18. Matsukawa
Middle of the road guy. I feel like he is bad at opening conversation, which hurts him. However, if someone gives him a chance for a longer conversation he does a lot better.
17. Daichi
He’s not bad, but he’s also not amazing? Like I don’t really see him as someone who gets very nervous around people he finds cute. However, he’s not super flirty and can struggle to hold people’s interest if that makes sense? Just kinda mid tbh.
16. Koganegawa
He has like puppy dog vibes. He has a lot of fun flirting. I feel like he is a lil bit of an air head, so he doesn’t even realize he should be nervous. But since he has such positive, easy going vibes it’s super easy to talk to him. His down fall is that he can be a little too spacey and forget to follow through, ex forgets to ask for your number or tell you he thinks you’re cute.
15. Kageyama
He’s not super flirty either. But I feel like as he gets older he grows in confidence and gets better at approaching people. Let’s be honest them beautiful fucking blue eyes has him picking up most people he wants. His weakness is sometimes he’s too reserved and the other person thinks he’s not interested. Either than that a pretty solid success rate
14. Akaashi
Honestly bro is so fine he really doesn’t have to try that hard. Similar to kageyama in that he can struggle with coming off too aloof. Still, I think he’s super polite and engaging which makes him charming without even really trying
13. Lev
He also has some puppy dog vibes but I think he is more in control of it. Especially as he gets older he mellows out more. Being a professional model gave him a lot of confidence, but he still is a lil goofy on the inside, so it never comes off as cocky or anything. I could see him trying a little too hard to be suave at times that it works against him. Like it comes off a little disingenuous. But he’s a 6′4 model, he’s not struggling THAT hard to get numbers lets be real.
12. Nishinoya
He’s higher than Tanaka bc I think he comes off slightly less strong. Maybe it’s just because he’s small 💀. But he doesn’t feel intimidating even though he does come on strong. He’s able to do it in a way that’s very endearing. Also once he gets talking he’s able to reel himself in more. He’s also super funny which helps his success rate a TON.
11. Kuroo
Idk why but I can see him wanting to use like pick up lines 💀 like he thinks he’s being smoother than he really is. Kenma tells him he’s being a dork(which he is). He’s hot enough that most people will give him a chance, though. Once he gets past that he genuinely charming and doesn’t struggle to get someone’s number
10. Bokuto
Another one that can come on strong but in a way that works for him. I can deadass see him just walking up to someone and flat out telling them they’re gorgeous. And it feels so genuine(bc it is genuine) and not just like someone trying to get in your pants (even if he is trying to get in your pants). If he strikes out tho it totally kills his mood and it’s hard for him to recover.
9. Atsumu
He’s the opposite of bokuto where him calling you gorgeous sounds like he’s just trying to get in your pants 💀 but he is SUCH flirt oml. I think that can hurt him at times bc he’s laying it on a little too thick. But usually finds a good balance. Can charm the pants off most people if you give him enough time.
8. Aran
Solid flirter. Confident enough to approach you and make conversation without being overbearing. Chill and easy to talk to. Even if you don’t end up going out with him after, you still enjoy the talk you had. Also doesn’t make it weird if you decline him.
7. Sugawara
Suga is so good at getting your guard down. He’s just sweet and genuine you feel at ease with him (it’s those big brown cow eyes). So easy to talk to and is surprisingly funny. Plus when he tells you he works with kids it makes him seem even sweeter.
6. Terushima
And then we have to total opposite. Honestly he should be lower. He comes off strong to the point of being cocky but somehow makes it work. Let’s be honest it’s the tongue ring(he definitely makes suggestive jokes about it). I also hc that he’s super tatted as an adult. I think he does well because he’s superrrrr good at picking out the girls who would be into his vibe. Also like who doesn’t wanna hook up with a bad boy every now and then?
5. Hinata
Listen. This may be high but I truly believe Hinata has good game. So good that at times he doesn’t even realize the effect he is having. I think his favorite way to flirt is getting you to do something competitive with him. Has no issue walking up to you at the beach to ask if you wanna play volleyball with him or even just asking to play beer pong at a party. He doesn’t even really have to try once you agree because he is super good at everything he does (which is a turn on) and you have a lot of fun. Great at asking you on a date without even realizing you’re being asked. Like he’ll say you should go get something to eat after playing together and you immediately agree. Then you’re like wait a second... this is totally date. And you’re very happy about it.
4. Semi
I feel like we don’t know that much about his cannon personality, but he has such a cool vibe. Liken effortlessly cool so you’re naturally drawn to him. Plus he’s super good looking like come on. Really just knows how to curate his look. He’s someone expect to be a little mean but he’s actually a sweetheart. Has you head over heels in no time.
3. Osamu
Atsumu is punching the air rn. He’s got Atsumu’s confidence but is able to keep from being too much. Subtle flirt, but super good at it nonetheless. Loves flirting with costumers who come to his shop because it gets him extra tips but also you keep coming back to order shit just so you can talk to him more. He knows he’s got you right where he wants you. He gets soooo many numbers left on receipts and absolutely will call them if he liked you.
2. Suna
God. This man. He was born to flirt look at him!! He’s so fucking smooth. He’s sorta aloof but he is really able to work that to his favor. Definitely confident enough to just walk up to you and start a convo. He is a good talker but he almost doesn't need words??? Like he can just look at you a certain way and god you’re sweating (in the best way). Easily gets anyone he sets his sights on.
1. Iwaizumi
Iwaizumi has the best game idc. He’s equally hot and approachable. Has plenty of confidence but is never cocky. Truly has a kind, warm aura that makes you feel so comfy talking to him. He’s super smart and funny. Like you just feel like you’re having a conversation you don’t even realize he’s flirting with you but you’re absolutely developing a huge crush on him. The type you talk to and immediately feel like you’ve known him forever. He truly never strikes out. It’s a gift.
Bonus: Coach Ukai
It didn’t feel fair to compare Ukai to everyone bc he is a few years older and definitely more experienced but I couldn't leave him out. He has INSANE game. Like just look at him. He’s fine, a lil bit of a bad boy vibe, has a heart of gold (LOVES dropping in that he is a volunteer coach with kids). I think he would be sexy n fun flirt like it’s just too easy for him.

Anon: heyyy girl! How have you been? I must say that your blog, no matter when, is still STUNNING. I follow you since the bazooka squad era lol. Can you pretty please make a request for me about Chisaki? One where he is been howling his ass on his office since pops kinda grounded him with paper work but reader comes and just straight up takes him out... kinda like kidnapping but in a good way?
Tumblr media
You smiled kindly at the precept who let you in inside the house and made your way with a happy aura that wasn't quite frequent on the shie hassaikai, but it was sure much like a breath of fresh air.
Although your smiled dropped when you noticed the leader discussing something with some scared precepts before they hurried off when the old man just pointed his finger at the door you just came in with a very stern and rather loud '-now before I change my mind'.
You stepped outside of the way of the precepts and frowned at the elder massaging his temples with a head sigh.
"Good afternoon pops." You muttered and the old man immediately stopped his actions to look at you and give you at least a kind yet tired smiled.
"Good afternoon (Y/n) my dear, how have you been?" He fixed his posture as you walked a bit closer to him.
"Same old." You giggled "How are you though? You sound tired..."
"Tired?" The elder chuckled but you gulped when you saw his right eye twitching "I'm fucking pissed off actually."
You widened your eyes... in all of the years you've been here you never actually heard a swear coming from this man's mouth... well, until now at least.
"U-uh-"
"Your boyfriend just simply refuses to listen." He chuckled a bit darkly "I tell him to NOT do something and guess what he does? The exact damn opposite." He ranted on as you nodded a bit, still not quote recovered at seeing the usual calm and collected pops so... irritated.
"I swear he gives me more headaches than all of my years inside this fucking organization and I've been here practically all of my life." He sighed while pushing his Grey hair back before looking at you "I apologize my dear, I will just go lay down a bit to calm myself down."
"I-is okay." You smiled a bit "just try to calm down a bit yeah?... is chisaki-"
"On his office." He grumbled while rubbing his head "I gave him something to do, not simply fuck up all my hard work to not have the police on my ass at least." He muttered and your jaw fell.
Alright, He was definitely pissed at your boyfriend.
You took some steps and knocked lightly on his door but heard nothing.
"Love? Is me." You knocked once while calling "Can I please come in?"
You had to put your ear on the door to finally hear a grumble as you sighed and shrugged. Close enough to a answer.
As soon as you entered and closed the door you didn't know whether to laugh or gasp..
There was at least five piles full of documents on Kai's desk. And it wasn't small piles, no, they were big. Similar to those cartoons when a character is at their work.
Kai hated taxes and hated to do these kind of work inside the yakusa... so judging by the tired yet pissed look of your boyfriend, this was probably his punishment given by pops.
"Oh honey... what did you do this time?" You accidentally let out as Kai only glared at you.
"If you're here to mock me or give me a scolding about my ideas to put this sorry place back on their glory days not being 'right' than just get out of here." He growled and you blinked... pops did scared you a bit when he growled, but your boyfriend? Nah, you were used to his bad mood.
"I didn't do neither of these, I just asked you what did you do to make pops put you in this kind of work... again." You lifted your hands up in a signal of peace as he only grumbled.
You shaked your head a bit before walking towards where he was sitting. He didn't stop what he was doing until your hands started to massage a bit his shoulder... he did tense up a bit at the start but soon you heard a little sigh and his body soon started to relax, little by little.
You snorted but that was enough for him to glare at you once again.
"Care to tell me what happened?" You lowered yourself down to put your head on his shoulder as he scoffed. "Not going to?"
Another scoff which made you roll your eyes at his attitude, until an idea popped as you smiled mischievously.
His breath caught on his throat when you started to plant kisses on the exposed part of his neck, and you couldn't help the giggled escaping your lips at feeling his skin shiver the slightly bit.
He muttered your name in warning as you kept kissing all of his weak spots.
"Tell me what happened" kiss "you might even feel better" kiss "please?" Another kiss "I want to try to calm you down a bit." Kiss
It was silent for a bit until he sighed deeply, hanging his head backwards a bit but enough to bump softly with yours. You removed yourself from the crook of his neck to watch from upwards his face which was clearly more relaxed, eyes closed and no more his eyebrows scrunched which surely would gave him wrinkles before his 40s.
You waited for him to peak his eyes open before silently suggesting to take off his black face mask and he only closed them once again, silently letting you removed the mask to see his whole face on all its glory. You smiled at seeing the signs of some of hair grow in his chin as you gently carreseded the area with your thumb as he grunted.
"Forgot to shave?" You asked as you felt your fingers being slight tickeed by ghe small facial hairs of his.
"Didn't had time." He justified, his frown coming back nefore you kissed his forehead.
"I like it. It suits you. Makes you even more senior than usual." You kissed his lips as he scoffed later.
"Disgusting."
It was a peaceful silence until you felt one of your hands being picked up by one of his bigger gloved hands. He brought close to his face, smelling the scent of the soap or hand sanitizer you used due to his mysiphohia and he couldn't help the warm feeling as he planted a small and almost shy kiss on your hand afterwards.
You smiled at the gesture, feeling all warm and fuzzy yourself at how far he had come over his own mysophobia just for you.
"There was this one specific minor gang on the center of Tokyo." He started, staring at your hand he hadn't let go of "A bunch of imbeciles, yet they had some.. "merch" I was quite interested in. It had a vicious effect on the brain and would lead us to gain some money to-"
"You were dealing with drugs again, weren't you?" You muttered.
"... you sound disappointed."
"Well, kinda. I know your intentions are good love but... it's just isn't right." You sighed, knowing your ideals were very much different. Kai could be extremist and radical sometimes on things he wanted and believed, quirks being a very much example of it.
You felt himself letting go of your hand and standing up from his chair, and for a second you thought you had angered him again but he just looked at you with solemn eyes.
"You're better than me as a human in many ways. Yet, I want this organization to come back as being a respected and powerful one. The method we've been doing for these last years is not working." He spoke as he took some steps and sat on the couch of his office, legs spread and arms resting over it "Some rules need to be broken to get our goal."
"But that's not right still love.." You dared to speak as you walked near him "Besides, you always end up on a fight or using your quirk on someone..."
"That is just a consequence, but is worth it." He growled at the ground.
"Is it?" You muttered "I.. I keep worrying about you or if you're okay almost all of the time now."
"You don't need to."
"Of course I need to!" You exclaimed while taking a seat next to him "Kai, I love you. You're my boyfriend. And I care and worry about you... don't you feel the same about me?"
Silence... and you sighed. You knew he felt the same way, but sometimes you couldn't help but think your man was way too complicated...
"Is what he wants." He broke the tension "thats something that he wants for so long... it would be the only way to pay him back to what he had done to... me." He muttered, staring ahead of him as you frowned.
"... I know you want to pay him back love, but maybe you being his successor is already enough."
"Is not." Kai muttered "trust me... is not."
You frowned before scooting closer and looking at him. His golden eyes looked at you for a bit before sighing and lifting one of his arms to allow you to hug his torso.
You laid your head on the crook of his neck as his gloved hand remained in your scalp, while both of your hands and his other one were on top of each other.
"You didn't change my mind about much things I did, but... I'm glad you came here. To check on me, I guess." He muttered and you couldn't help bit to snort.
"You're so stubborn." You whispered before looking at him, his stoic face no where to be seen as he scoffed at your words.
"Look who is talkin-" He widened his eyes when you kissed him once again, the hand that was on top of his now sweetly holding the right side of his jaw.
"You were saying?" You giggled at his red cheeks and those golden eyes glaring at you before he grabbed your both cheeks "Mh!"
"Shut up you brat. Didn'tyou want to calm me down? Then be quiet." He muttered huskily near your lips before kissing them again
Safe to say, he wasn't finishing those taxes.

Zechs Marquise / Milliardo Peacecraft:  A Heel Turn for the Greater Good
Tumblr media
Zechs Merquise is the main character of Gundam Wing.
Ah, you thought it was Heero, or maybe Relena, didn’t you? Well, judging by the first act of the series, this is clearly not the case!
Zechs is the very first character we’re introduced to. He’s mysterious, handsome, ultra-competent. He shows concern for civilian safety and the safety of his men. He takes personal risks, fights on the front lines. He demonstrates right away that he has a strong ethical code that places great importance on the moral conduct of soldiers. His subordinates look up to him, his superiors value and respect him. We get all of this in act one of episode one.
Absolute hero material, so far! Hard to see why he's being framed like antagonist. Whatever, I'm sure he'll be on the winning team in no time! Just like Quattro Vegeta, or whatever.
Tumblr media
By episode three, we’re introduced to the Tallgeese, a mobile suit that matches all the criteria for being the Big Damn Hero Machine that a protagonist would use: it’s ancient, it’s got a history, it’s the progenitor suit, it’s got no bells or whistles, it demands great strength and skill from the pilot but offers unmatched performance to those who can overcome its challenges. It’s the perfect suit for Zechs, and obviously the next step in his hero’s journey! This is the part of the story where he can finally meet the terrifying, so-far unbeatable enemy on equal footing.
...But of course, OZ is also introduced in episode 3. So now we know that Zechs works for some faceless, secret military organization– but that’s fine, right? It’s the Alliance military that’s the Big Bad Guy, and Zechs seems to be part of some elite special unit that’s only for brave, self-sacrificing soldiers! OZ hasn’t done anything really bad yet, while on the other hand, the Gundam pilots have been a bunch of mercilessly violent loose cannons who’ll kill anyone who gets in their way.
In episode four, we meet Noin, an immediately likable and equally skilled OZ officer who has a deep personal connection with Zechs. Already this is a power couple we can get behind. We watch as Noin suffers a humiliating defeat and a barrage of misogyny from a Gundam pilot, who kills a bunch of young recruits in their sleep. Definitely not a good look for the Gundam Team! while Zechs and Noin (and Treize, in a more literal sense) come out of this episode smelling like roses.
Tumblr media
Just look at them! They’re going to make such a great team. I hope they give those homicidal Gundam kids what for!
It’s only when episode five rolls around that we finally see what OZ is really about: assassinations, covert schemes, foul play, political manipulation, and the ruthless accumulation of power. Uh oh!
But surely, Lady Une is the real baddy here, and Treize is no more than a shadowy puppet master whose true motives remain mysterious. Zechs and Noin are still such obvious Good Guy candidates, they really ought to be the main protagonists of this show by now! The big scary OZ that the Colony rebels warned us about seems a far cry from the OZ we’ve seen so far. Even after the point where OZ becomes the new uncontested Bad Guy, Zechs and co. keep their noses pretty clean.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then! Then Zechs reveals his tragic past, his double-identity, his secret Count of Monte Cristo/ Man in the Iron Mask plot to avenge the ruin of the Sanc Kingdom and the deaths of his family, the noble house of Peacecraft! How romantic, how dashing! His quest continues to best the Gundams, but this takes on the hue of personal enlightenment; Zechs wants to defeat the Gundam pilots to prove he is capable of being a “True Soldier”, worthy of the power he’s been given, worthy of what has been sacrificed to his cause.
Boy, that’s some hero behavior! And it gets even better: Zechs and Noin leave OZ to begin championing the Sanc Kingdom and its policies of Total Pacifism. No one can say Zechs isn’t one of the good guys now, right? He even dresses up all spiffy in white and becomes an ambassador to promote peace in the colonies!
Tumblr media
–Or rather, he tries to.
Because despite having gained a reporte with a few of the Gundam pilots, he still hasn’t managed to ally with them. They still view him as an enemy, no matter how hard or how desperately he tries to convince them that he’s turned over a new leaf.
He can’t beat them, and he can’t join them. Why?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pictured: the saddest boys in the universe.
The second act of Gundam Wing is a crucible where every character is forced to re-evaluate their place in the ongoing conflict. You can see and feel his frustration building as the future spirals out of control.
What is the purpose of Zechs Merquise, or of Milliardo Peacecraft?
He has refused to be OZ’s mascot, the Lightning Count. He’s not capable of bringing peace to the colonies by himself. He can’t join the Gundams in their fight against OZ. He can’t even protect the Sanc Kingdom, because the very act of fighting in its name is used as an excuse to wipe it out.
Tumblr media
He bids a heartfelt adieu to his Big Damn Hero Machine, the Tallgeese, and finds himself in possession of its polar opposite: the Epyon, a machine made to scour its pilot and the world of hypocrisy.
Finally, Zechs has his answer– the reason why his purpose eludes him, why all his best intentions go astray, why the harder he tries to align his moral compass to the Gundam pilots or embrace his pacifistic inheritance, the more lost he becomes: He is not the hero.
He has been trying and failing to be a hero since episode one because this isn’t a story about noble, heroic, chivalrous warriors doing battle in order to gain personal clarity and strength.
It’s not about man-vs-man conflict resolving in a test of skill. If it were, Zechs would have been victorious and completed his hero’s journey by now, and the show would be over.
But that was never the role he was meant to play. That’s not what the stage requires. The third act begins as he accepts a new mantle, and becomes the villain history needs in that moment to bring everything together.
Tumblr media
“Zechs considers this place his grave. [...]He intends to pay for the sin of purging humanity, all by himself.”
–Not to purge humanity of “violent earthlings”, as his White Fang propaganda speech stated, but to purge the current generation of the means to wage mechanized warfare, and of the desire for combat and retribution itself, in order to finally bring the cycle of war between the earth and space to an end.
…But of course, nothing ever really ends, does it? History dances forward, with or without you, and all the sacrifices and fail-safes in the world will not stop new challenges from arising.
Nevertheless, if it is possible to choose, by means of noble principle, to be a villain for the sake of the greater good, in the full assurance of one’s own destruction and revilement, then surely that is also in some winding, definitionally tragic way, a path to heroism– and if this is so, then Zechs is strong (and disillusioned) enough to take it.
I do not think that the series supports the idea that his actions or their consequences are justified– only that they achieve their immediate purpose: setting the stage for peace. For now.
Tumblr media
...And Now, An Important Note on Gundam Meta:
Zechs is what is referred to in the parlance of the Gundam fandom as a “Char Archetype”, or “Char Clone”-- a term I think is of debatable accuracy. For a longer discussion on Char Aznable and his role in MS Gundam, please see the entry: The Char Aznable Problem.  But I want to make it clear that knowing about Char’s backstory IS NOT a necessary prerequisite to understanding Zechs’s story.
Zechs and Char share a lot of DNA as characters, that’s unavoidable– a masked man in red who poses a threat to the main Gundam pilot is a staple of the genre; he’s deliberately an homage to Char, as much an expected feature of a Gundam series as... well, Gundams. That much is not in question.
However: Char’s motivations only make sense in the context of the original Gundam series; if you try to apply the same logic within the structure of Gundam Wing, it becomes gibberish. But the gibberish is by design– If you don’t understand the context behind Zech’s late-series genocidal spiel on why “earthlings are the ultimate threat to peace so we must destroy earth, the source of all conflict yadda-yadda blah-blah”, then… yeah, you’re up to speed. No one else listening to White Fang’s broadcast understood it either. It’s MEANT to sound like the ramblings of an extremist madman who poses a catastrophic and unavoidable threat to both Earth AND the Space Colonies he claims to represent. That’s the basic nature of his Ozymandius Gambit: invent something scary enough that everyone has to band together to fight it.
Tumblr media
So you don’t need to know about Char to understand Zechs– but knowing about Char does make Zech’s role (and Treize’s role!) in Gundam Wing that much more interesting.
Zechs is not a Char Clone, he is a conversation with the idea of Char, taking a theme and transposing it into a new composition.
--Anyway, it’s a little unfair to try and force a comparison between Zechs and Char, when Char had MS Gundam, Zeta Gundam, and Char’s Counterattack to do everything he did, and Zechs only had Wing.
Now, I’m not a mathematician or anything, but I’d say that makes Zechs roughly…
Three times faster.

I kind of love how you have all these interesting hcs for Ganondorf like animals loving him, his weird dynamic with Sheik, the approval he seeks from his mothers etc. while at the same time being like “he’s a horrible gremlin and bloodthirsty and no one would want to stay near him”. I feel like it really captures how absurd and chaotic he is. Thank you for your service.
oh…im holding this ask very gently…..this means a lot to me because like!! yeah all these things are sort of true to me and i feel like he’s one of those characters where the more you dissect him, the more discordant things you find, and yet they all somehow intertwine in a way that makes him compelling and whole :-) retroactively putting a warning here that i ended up talking a lot and going pretty off-track but. like,,, one of the main roots of his absurdity to me is that he just has these fundamental problems with connecting with people (outside of clever manipulation, which he is good at), which are very effective at driving people away, even when he genuinely loves them, and i think he does this thing constantly where he wants people to despise him and he wants people to think the worst of him, because he is so much more comfortable with that than just? learning how to actually differentiate between love & hatred? and to not immediately feel threatened by gestures of love as some kind of deception, because he probably can’t quite make out the difference? despite having such a high level of emotional intelligence otherwise? and this primarily ties in with the idea that the biggest most terrifying enemy he has ever known in his entire life has been the neighboring kingdom, which professes to be the epitome of love & light & benevolence while at the same time committing the most egregious hateful bloody acts of cruelty in the darkest recesses of kakariko’s catacombs
and like. i think all of his formative experiences have still led to him being fully capable of things like feeling love, but also consequently not having the faintest idea of what the definition of that actually is, or how it works, or how to relate to someone you care about without just projecting all your own experiences onto them, or communicating your affection in ways other than just. being mean. and him purposely antagonizing people who do love him and are kind to him is a kneejerk reaction that he might not even realize is nonsensical, just a way of avoiding the most fundamentally disconcerting thing he knows, which is the ambiguity of something that claims to be kind or good. and so i think he‘d find a weird comfort in things that either don’t have that ambiguity, or subvert it entirely
like animals! who are far less capable of deception, or monsters, who like him, are deemed inherently evil. or spirits, who shouldn’t technically even be bound by the concepts of good & evil, even less applicable to wayward souls than to living beings. above all other humans though, he is definitely closest to his surrogate mothers, who supposedly are the true highest authorities of the gerudo tribe, and who treat him more like a deity than a son, and might moreso love the idea of what they want him to be, rather than the person he is. and he is in fact mortal, and a human being, and extremely flawed, and prone to recklessness under stress, and makes silly mistakes, and is emotionally unstable, with an attention span that doesn’t actually seem particularly well-suited to politics or government. and i accidentally wrote way too much in one sitting again, but.
but yeah, he’s like. my point is he is so full of things. he is completely absurd and chaotic and yet also i think there are recognizable patterns in what he does, if you think about him way too hard for way too long. he’s an infuriating swiss watch of a person that functions with seemingly inexplicable precision, but is made to say rude things to you instead of showing you the time, and yet you can’t really judge him too harshly after making the difficult effort of trying to understand him, because it becomes more & more evident that. that’s just. the way he is. that that’s the inevitable way that he came together, entirely due to circumstance. he’s a reflection of the completely nonsensical universe that he lives in, an antagonist since the day he was born, defined as such by the world’s Inherently Good Authorities, who are themselves objectively guilty of mass kidnapping, torture, murder, displacement and genocide, and yet are still, by the immutable definitions of these words as they’ve established them, Good. and i NEED to go to bed but yeah i love him for being a horrible insufferable bitch, actually, because it’s meaningful in and of itself, and i love him for not being normal, and having unmanageable fears of inadequacy, and mommy issues, and ADHD and autism, and for bullying teenagers, and being more fond of monsters & parasites than people, and literally using his emotions as a weapon, and referring to himself as king of every evil thing in existence, and almost never bothering to explain his actual motivations to people who he knows have already decided that he is the crux of all the world’s problems, because he’s fully internalized that trying to be understood by anyone at all is completely pointless. wife material

Playing the Original Trilogy Ace Attorney games back to back, it really struck me as early as 2-2 how much Franziska is very bad at the whole "Demon Prosecutor" schtick
What made Edgeworth so tough isn't just how he would run logic circles around you, but also because he shut down every line of inquiry that was not directly related to the case and substantiated with hard evidence. His one weakness was that he still followed the due proceedings of court and the Judge's rulings without a fuss. And, you know, that he still had morals
Manfred von Karma is on a whole other level. He's even more ruthless than Edgeworth, but he's also so intimidating that he essentially takes over as judge in the beginning, and his moral compass was surgically removed because it hurt his shoulder.
But Franziska, while she also controls the social dynamics of the court, lets so much shit fly that Edgeworth would not. If he was the prosecutor, he would have needed hard evidence that Pearl was in the Winding Path, and he definitely wouldn't have let him badger Ini about the sports car she drove all those years ago.
Hell, Edgeworth's most common dirty tactic in the first game is concluding a cross-examination before you can squeeze the info out of the witness. And just in 2-2, Franziska lets, and sometimes forces, the cross-examinations to continue, even when said cross-examination reveals she was concealing evidence.
Even Winston Payne, the jobber prosecutor par excellence, is more ruthless than her IIRC, as in he tried to conclude a trial early before Phoenix could finish his reasoning, whereas the Judge literally tried to declare Maya guilty and Franziska objected
You could interpret this behaviour in many ways. In fact, Phoenix even gives us his own: he thinks she's being arrogant, à la "hit me with your best shot". It would track, as she's been pretty arrogant up until now, but I think it's a little shallow.
My own interpretation goes a little deeper into Franziska's character: We know Franziska has been raised by Manfred "my card PIN is 0001 because I'm number 1" von Karma to believe perfection is the ultimate goal. She HATES lying witnesses, but is perfectly fine with "preparing" testimonies. She's the most volatile and youngest prosecutor to date. Lastly, she felt pressure to live up to the von Karma name all her life, but when her father died, she was more concerned with Edgeworth's presumed death than it
My conclusion: Franziska's truest desire pre-character development is to win fair and square, but because she associates her father with victory, she forces herself to emulate him and tries to play dirty. All of her Manfred-like tactics are done outside of court, where she would be able to think it over, letting her conditioning kick in. But in the thick of legal battle, especially facing Phoenix Wright, who thrives on hectic trials, she would let her heart decide what to do.

MY STANCES ON CONTROVERSIAL CHARACTERS ARE AS FOLLOWS
Anakin Skywalker: This one's fairly obvious, but I'm one of the people who doesn't see Anakin as redeemed by the end of ROTJ just because he saved one person he personally gives a damn about. My definition of redemption is about atoning and making amends, and Anakin has no possible way of actually DOING THAT for most of the things he's done, so there's no real way of acquiring redemption. He can be a better person, he can be forgiven by individual people for things he's done to them, he can keep choosing to be selfless instead of selfish, but none of that necessarily means he has to be considered redeemed. If you think he's redeemed at the end of ROTJ and that's what brings you joy in your interpretation of the story, great, I honestly don't care. But if you choose to come into my notes and get mad at me because I don't think the space fascist is redeemed just because he decides to save his own son, you will now be blocked on sight, I'm done having that conversation with people.
The Jedi As A Whole: Wonderful people with a beautiful culture that never did a single thing to deserve what was done to them. They were not corrupt, they didn't need to reform their culture in a single way. There was nothing more they could've done for Anakin or the Republic that would've stopped what happened. They don't steal children, they adopt them from parents who choose to let their children lead a better life, and become part of the large extended Jedi family. They are intergalactic therapists whose literal way of life IS therapy for those who choose to follow it. They were outplayed, but they did everything they could've possibly done. Sometimes, it is possible to commit no mistakes, and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life. (Side note here: This is an incredibly pro Jedi blog, if you come on my blog and criticize the Jedi in any way, you will be immediately blocked, I am so done with this fandom's anti-Jedi sentiments, consider this your warning.)
Padme Amidala: Deserved better from the Prequels, has such potential and promise and I want so dearly to save her from her toxic ass marriage to a fascist MAGA manchild, but damn am I glad Luke and Leia didn't have to grow up with her as a mother some days.
Bo-Katan Kryze: I wish I could like her, but the writers are making it SO HARD. They don't seem to ever remember that she gleefully set an entire village on fire because they dared ask for their enslaved people back and to not be occupied anymore, but I do.
Satine Kryze: I wish I could like her, but I don't have enough nostalgia for her to overlook how bad the writing is for her. She treats Obi-Wan like garbage, brings out the worst in him, acts very arrogantly about just about everything and never has to take responsibility for her own mistakes so she gets to die a martyr.
Aleksander Kallus: Literally has to have his ENTIRE BACKSTORY retconned so he can be "redeemed" within the span of one episode. Also manages to "All Lives Matter" Zeb into thinking that judging Imperials for their fascist choices is the same as judging an ENTIRE SPECIES on the actions of one individual who was acting in self-defense anyway. Stop saying he's got the best redemption arc in Star Wars, it sucks fucking ass and he's not a fucking Fulcrum, he just stole the title from Ahsoka and didn't earn it and he was a shit spy anyway.
Crosshair: Bigoted dickhead who treats everyone like complete crap and then goes full fascist as a punishment for the world when no one wants to risk their lives to save him. His redemption arc was completely half-assed and he should've had to do a LOT more to gain people's forgiveness and absolutely no one should've been forced to apologize to HIM.
Bode Akuna: Basically just Anakin lite and we all know how I feel about Anakin. No sob story justifies anything he's done and I didn't find him all that interesting or sympathetic, personally.
Rafa and Trace Martez: I actually loved them, I thought they had an interesting relationship with each other and with Ahsoka, I appreciated how different they felt and the arc Ahsoka goes on with them. I don't mind that they used them to showcase the rising anti-Jedi sentiment among the citizens of Coruscant, I just wish their opinions hadn't been presented as though they were right. I love that we see they've joined a rebellion of sorts post-Order 66 and I wish we'd gotten to see more of Trace, Rafa, and Rex working together rather than the absolute trashfire that we're actually getting on TBB.
Ahsoka Tano: Relationship status: It's complicated. I DO like her, generally, but I REALLY dislike the way she's constantly written in later stuff to be better than everyone else and to have basically zero flaws so that she can end up like a messiah or a goddess of light reborn or something. It's boring, it's annoying, and it just isn't any good. I particularly don't care for how she consistently gets utilized to bash the Jedi Order and absolve Anakin for all of his sins. Ahsoka deserves better, but I'm also immensely frustrated with where her story's taken her and the way fandom tends to treat her. We also just straight-up need more main female Jedi characters and as long as Ahsoka's around it feels like it'll never happen. She's completely irrelevant to the story overall and I'm annoyed at how much Felony is trying to make her more significant than she is instead of just letting her stand on her own for once.
Sabine Wren: I love the Rebels version of her, but the Ahsoka show version sucks. I have decided it simply does not exist for Sabine. That isn't the real Sabine and it never will be. That's not Sabine's story, the real Sabine would never try to be a Jedi because quite simply she doesn't NEED to be. And the real Sabine would NEVER disrespect Ezra's sacrifice by undoing it and then leaving him to deal with the fallout. It's stupid, it's ugly, and Sabine deserved better.
Hera Syndulla: Much like Sabine, I love the Rebels version of her, but the Ahsoka version sucks. The Ahsoka version deserves to be kicked out of the army or whatever, she's a terrible mother and an even worse General and quite honestly not that great of a friend. The real Hera would NEVER act like orders didn't matter just because she doesn't like them or refuse to see the logic in letting go of Ezra after he's been missing for 10 years so that those resources can go to people who they can confirm are still alive.
Shin Hati: She's so so so boring. She has the personality of cardboard, it basically consists of "crazy eyes" and that's about it. She is pretty literally just Darth Maul but a girl. Like every single part of her character so far is indistinguishable from Maul aside from the cosmetic stuff. I hope she dies in season 2 and never gets a redemption arc. I'd say Sabine deserves better, but honestly Ahsoka!Sabine deserves her.
Grey Jedi: Stop trying to make fetch happen. It's not going to happen. Let Grey Jedi stay in fanon where it belongs, none of your faves are Grey Jedi in canon and they never will be.

Merry Post-Christmas moot!
Sorry finals were giving you the eye-twitches and that I wasn't online when you made your asks request before, but here's my latest spidervores hc (centered around Miggy because hello, it's me):
~~~
Miguel's enhanced senses make him the best at communicating with or checking in on anyone he has already consumed. Not only can he hear them speaking to him from inside his stomach easily, but his enhanced sense of touch extends to his stomach as well - he can feel his prey's movements, breathing and even their heartbeat if they're leaning against his stomach wall.
Peter B finds this very impressive - in his own experience nomming people, he mostly just feels full, and he can hear his prey speak only if they talk loudly and he strains a bit to hear.
Miguel's enhanced sense of taste makes the process of nomming prey more enjoyable for him than most of the other spiders - he picks up on very distinct flavors whenever he noms someone, and he favors prey that have a combination of sweet and savory flavors. The spiders he's nommed have asked him to describe their flavors to him, but he has a hard time directly comparing them to normal food flavors.
Miguel's sense of smell and taste combined allow him to pick up on his prey's mood/mental state - he can tell if they're stressed, happy, scared, etc. based on the subtle chemical signals their bodies give off - not exactly pheromones, but similar.
That's all I've got for now!
AJDJAJA HI MOOT!! this is also very very very very post christmas 😭 happy early valentines if you celebrate it! if not then I hope your month has been good so far.
also I love these headcanons. I think Miguel being able to feel his prey more acutely is so cool and I will now be adding it to my pile of mig hcs :D. plus it adds to his character because he's a workaholic no nonsense control freak /affectionate so of course he would be able to feel everything and make sure they’re fine inside of him.
Since he would probably only nom a select few of people (the ones who are close to him, the ones who he cares about deeply) he genuinely does care about how they feel. Especially if he can taste it. While he would prefer to stay stoic and distant, he finds that people manage to worm through his defenses and to his heart anyway.
If you’re one of those people, congrats! It’s a difficult feat but not impossible. He’s susceptible to genuine care and love and while he tries to run away from it, it catches up with him anyways. I’m not gonna pretend like this dude isn’t traumatized and struggles to accept that he’s allowed to have anything nice (judging off of his comics) but over time, if you’re determined enough to help him, he’ll definitely relent and let you in.
While he doesn’t really think he’s got any redeeming qualities, he shows that he cares through his concern. He’ll check up on you if he thinks you look exhausted or offer you a listening ear if you’re frustrated, etc. If you just want a place to relax and hide away from the overwhelming world outside, he’ll tentatively offer to nom you. Even though he’s afraid that you’ll reject him and think of him as a monster, he still wants to try, just in case you really do need it. He’ll set aside his own insecurities to help you. At his core, i think he’s a giver.
If you say yes, he’ll gulp you down with no further questions. Easy as that. Miguel wont admit that he likes to have someone tucked away inside of him, but his body betrays him, his stomach walls shifting to cradle them more comfortably, his hand subconsciously settling over his gut, etc. even if you don’t want to be gulped down, he’s fine with letting you rest on his shoulder or on his head while he works. Hes such a silly goober /pos
Dallas Winston
“I’m never nice.”  no warnings F/M, pure fluff, dallason winston head cannons, Dallas x Reader
in the book pony boy says that Dallas never really loved anyone (except Johnny) I detest this I think Dallas has the capacity to love as seen with Johnny it’s just a matter of meeting someone like you.
He’s likes showing you off but he doesn’t like showing affection (if that makes sense), like he’d never actually hug you or give you any sentimental comments in front of anyone because of the tough persona he likes to uphold, but he’d put an arm around you and make sure in any conversations that your presence was known but he’d never outwardly express genuine affection
He likes to flirt with you just to fluster you because he thinks it’s cute to see you all embarrassed
He’s a very jealous person, but when he’s jealous he doesn’t address it and instead gets real passive aggressive and will do stuff to try and make you jealous, he likes to fight fire with fire and you’re normally the one who has to put it out.
In fights he almost never apologizes first if ever, only when he knows he’s really fucked up  but if neither one of you apologizes he’ll still make it known he does love you in some way because he doesn’t like to go to bed angry
Intentionally tries to piss you off
If you don’t like Johnny he’s not gonna stay with you, Johnny’s his buddy and while he doesn’t like to show his soft side often Johnny’s his weakness, if you don’t like him he doesn’t like you
Assuming you do like johnny though (because who wouldn’t) if you guys were friends or hung out some I think Dallas would appreciate it on some level because he feels like you actually care about something very important to him which isn’t something many people do
I’m conflicted on his love language but he definitely likes giving you gifts (even if they’re stolen, I mean it’s the thought that counts, right?) but in the other hand he loves being all over you and giving each other lots of simple physical touch in private is something he loves for
He gives me the same vibes as the song behind closed doors by Lana Del Rey because I think people would definitely question why your with him in the first place and what you see in him, but truly behind closed doors he makes up for being so unloving in public, and you don’t really mind his love being so private because all that matters is that you know how much he loves you, even if your friends don’t.
He likes going to the drive-in with you to watch movies and make stupid jokes that make you both laugh so hard that you become a disturbance, but he might invite the gang some days too
He’s at bucks most often honestly so it’s not unlikely you two will party there and he’ll call it a date
He also likes taking you out to the dingo and going on cute dates there when no ones around that knows you two
Kind of mentioned earlier but his soft spots are for Johnny and somewhat pony boy so how you treat them is really how he judges your character at first
He gets in a lot of fights pretty obviously, but I think like how pony boys mom was able to keep him out of less trouble is what you’re able to do too whether it’s intentional or not, like he just generally spends more time around you that it makes it harder for him to get involved in as much trouble because he’s busy hanging with you.
Wearing his St. Christopher
Bailing him out of jail
Terrorizing random people just for fun💀 (think the scene where he runs those kids off in the movie)
He’d try to make you jealous and might make sly comments to other girls but he’d never cheat on you, he’s been cheated on before and he knows better
He might be a dick but I still believe he has some ounce of chivalry and he’d be the type to open doors for you and give you his jacket when you’re cold (even if he complains) but don’t call him out on it because he’d deny it and get pissed at you
If you were sad he’d always try his best to just be there for you, he ignores his own issues but he’ll intentionally go an extra mile if he knew your were upset though he truly doesn’t know how to comfort you💀
He stays up and sleeps in late most days so if you try to wake him up early he’ll be an ass and complain, probably unintentionally wakes you up when he gets home late
Thought I’d mention this because I’ve seen a lot of fanfics about him and the reader having a child and in my opinion it’d never happen, he doesn’t like kids and you’re not changing his mind, although if something happens something happens and I think if it did he’d get his act together eventually if you were patient enough with him (think Camilla and Billy from daisy jones and the six if you’ve read and or have seen it)
Also random thought but I think drunk Dallas would super giggly and fun? Like I feels like he’s a fun drunk and he’s only a mean drunk when someone pisses him off (which yeah I’ll admit isn’t hard to do) but when he’s drunk he normally isn’t looking for a fight anyways.
Thanks for reading!
P.S feel free to send in requests! I don’t have a list out yet for who I’ll write for specifically, but I can do honestly most stuff ppl request... except for marvel stuff (I can do Peter Parker just not Tom’s version, I’m way more equipped for dc)
What traits do the people in theos choosen few have?
Ngl theo definitely seems like he'd be the kind of guy to enjoy quietly spending time with someone where you're both in the same room but doing different things, but like no talking, no contact, just in each other's presence
I'm answering this one a bit out of the context of Amaranthine specifically because it got me thinking about all the various people Theo's gotten close to in all his incarnations as a character over the past too-many years. Not all of these characters are in his "current" story, but the through-line of his desired traits in a "chosen one" are there nonetheless. He's developed a diverse set of friends that don't have too much in common at first blush. But there are a few commonalities!
As established, Theo is extremely paranoid and has been burned by people many times before, which is one of his many barriers to getting close to others. A person often needs to have a quality that makes them feel more "safe" to him in order for him to stop seeing them as a potential enemy. Most often, this trait is "innocence" or "naïveté," or put in another sense, being so stupid Theo can't possibly imagine them trying to betray him. In one AU (Fallout), he developed weird friendships with three people (Jack, Frank and Dwight) because he thought they were all incredibly dumb and utterly clueless and therefore anything kind they did for him was probably genuine. In another roleplay I did with him, he very quickly developed a bond (and very one-sided infatuation) with a blind woman. She literally couldn't judge him on appearances, so he felt less defensive around her.
He tends to feel even more guarded around men compared to women for various reasons (daddy issues, bad school experiences, often more physically threatening to a little guy like him, feeling the primal urge to battle for dominance, so on), so it's theoretically easier for him to become close to women. At least, it's harder for him to start off on the complete wrong foot with a woman than he can with a man, where he takes a look at a random fellow and just decides he's a "bad sort" and cannot be convinced otherwise. That said, he can get close to fellas and he absolutely can learn to loathe a woman, as Hyden and (eventually) Alex could attest.
Hyden gets around the paranoia by being someone who Theo thought was dead for hundreds of years. It's safe to idolize a dead man because he'll never hurt you. Of course, Hyden isn't dead, but Theo already developed his imaginary bond with Hyden-as-historical-figure before he found that out, so Hyden got to fast-track the Theo friendship process.
He also thrives off of being people's protector (which is kind of hard as an asthmatic little person whose main form of exercise is lifting heavy books off the shelf, but he tries). The easiest way to forge a connection with him is to make him happen to stand between you and someone who strikes him as a "bully." Yes, like many men who would dare to say "milady," he is a white knight in pinstriped armor. It is very, VERY hard for him to resist the urge to defend someone he's been made to feel a sense of responsibility for, even if his more cynical side is telling him to just leave someone to their fate. Of course, that's all very noble until he ends up resolutely defending an evil warlock from the people whose lives were destroyed by evil warlock magic.
Theo also isn't someone who really grew up having those things called "friends." He tends to have trouble conceptualizing what a relationship between peers is even supposed to be like. Therefore, he tends to shirk his "equals" and instead is unconsciously more drawn to people he considers either above or below himself in station, intelligence, age etc., as that gives him more of an idea of how he's supposed to behave. He tends to seek out relationships he can imagine to mirror familial bonds (replacement parental figures or "wards") or mythologized dynamics from fantasy novels (handmaidens and feudal lords) because those are the dynamics he's familiar with and feels he can fulfill the duties of, more or less. (That said, he prefers people "below" him in almost every circumstance due to insecurity reasons.) If given enough time, he can ease out of those roles and into a more balanced connection, though.
ALL THAT SAID, none of this is a guarantee. Someone could be a completely innocent, harmless little peasant waif who gets beaten up by burly football players on his doorstop every day and he could still just slam the door and yell at them to stop annoying him with all that racket. In the end, excepting rare impulses of charity, he's a deeply unpleasant and misanthropic man driven by irrational pseudo-logic and unstable moods - you kind of just have to be there at the right time to catch him when his rotten little heart is open.
FINALLY, as for enjoying parallel relaxation as quality time, I'd say that's his "default" mode of enjoying people's company. But he can learn to enjoy more energetic ways of bonding with people (maybe a little too much... he can have some serious thrill-seeking issues if exposure to enough excitement brings them out). As much as he'd insist he could only tolerate another person if they have a taste for opera and quiet reflection, I think he could really get into a monster truck rally if he'd let himself get in the mood for it.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Review
‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️SPOILERS BELOW ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
This is not a simple review. It will contain specifics and loud opinions.
———-
I just need to start this off by saying that I fucking love Hobie. He is definitely one of the best parts of the movie. I am so happy that the rumor I heard about Hobie liking Gwen and creating a “love triangle” was not true. I very much dislike “love triangles.” I was screaming the entire time Hobie was on screen. He’s an anarchy genius.
Pavitr is the sweetest lil bean. It was such a relief seeing a happy Spider-Man. I really loved seeing Indian culture represented in a simple everyday way.
The Morales family is amazing and I only want the best for them. Mr. and Mrs. Morales are trying hard to be good parents and it shows.
Peter B. Parker what the hell are you thinking bringing a child into a violent fight?? I can sort of forgive the first one but then lying to MJ about it. You were literally carrying MayDay in a bjorn on a bullet train going skyward. I understand that you want Miles to see MayDay and see the good he brought you but a violent environment is not the time or place.
Speaking of bad parenting, Gwen’s father is an immature ass. When Gwen said, “You’re a good cop, Dad.” I wanted her to follow it up with, “but not a good father.” Why can’t superheroes condemn their parents?
Superhero movies don’t allow characters to hold their parents accountable because they’re objectively made for children to enjoy and children aren’t meant to question or judge their parents. When a parent missteps the child is required to meet the parent where they stand by accepting that everything was done out of love. How the child feels and how the slight effected them isn’t discussed. Marvel did this with Howard and Tony as well as Odin, Loki, and Thor. It’s insane that Sony and Marvel deny children seeing their heroes protect themselves and set boundaries with the people who are supposed to care for them above all others.
Miles is truly a King. He’s better than all those other spider-people and right now I don’t think they deserve the good he’s gonna bring them.
I’m not the biggest fan of Gwen’s actions or the romance between her and Miles. I would have preferred to see Tiana Toomes with Miles but Miles does go the furthest with Gwen out of all his girlfriends, opinions can be made as to why that is, so Gwen and Miles makes sense. I feel that their relationship is still in the crush stages and after her betrayal it could be the end of it. Maybe we could see Tiana, Kate, or someone else in the future.
I’m sure Miles is going to forgive Peter and Gwen but I at least want him to make them sweat more or for them to admit in full why they betrayed him. In order for Sony and Marvel to stop showing their audiences that unconditional forgiveness is required characters need to communicate and reach an understanding that isn’t one person deciding to be the bigger person, especially the child.
It’s fascinating to me that spider-people are so willing to rationalize their losses that they will all follow Miguel when he is clearly wrong.
Miguel that world fell apart because you were in it not because a canon event didn’t happen. Canon events, termed by Miguel, are just common themes that have/will lead to similar events because of course they will. Someone not dying in one instance is not the same as someone making roots in a universe that is not their own. The universe is resilient and it will correct itself. If a person’s death is more important than their survival then don’t worry the universe will make sure that they die.
Unlike the spider-heroes who are rationalizing their loss via acceptance, Spot is resorting to anger. He’s just focusing on the brightest string, like the Maximoffs did with Tony.
I found Miguel’s theory of Miles being an anomaly to be interesting. As I previously stated the universe will only go along with things it agrees with, Miguel learned this lesson pretty traumatically, so I believe that 1610 Peter was going to die that night. And if spider-42 hadn’t been brought to universe-1610 then there wouldn’t be a Spider-Man in 1610. So I think that the universe agreed that 1610 Miles is meant to be Spider-Man. I mean as we have seen multiple times in Across alone, Miles is a good force in every universe. I’m wondering if in 42 Prowler Miles is considered an anti-hero instead of a villain. I mean it’s more likely that they will go with the storyline of Miles meeting the evil him to strengthen his own morals, reminiscent of Billy. But I think I’d prefer the first storyline. It fits the narrative of “fuck canon/the box you want me in.” Also does Miguel just not care about universes without Spider-Man because he could have figured out a way to save 42 if he wanted? I’m so excited to see what happens with 42 Prowler and the final fight.
Absolutely loved all the cameos. All the spiders were perfectly done. Someone correct me if I’m wrong (pls pls send me screen grabs) but I didn’t see 199999 Peter in the holograms. Miguel mentions him in a derogatory way but that’s it. I might be reaching since 199999 Peter is my favorite but I think this is because Miguel groups Miles and Peter together. Miguel is okay with not saving everyone which is something Miles and 199999 Peter refuse to do. 199999 Peter’s main motto is “If you have the power to stop the bad things from happening and they happen anyway then they happened because of you.” Honestly, Peter holds himself to this way to tightly but Miguel does the exact opposite. He doesn’t even try to help people and then absolves himself from guilt. Peter literally almost destroyed the multiverse trying to help people and then lost everything fixing it, again Miguel did the opposite.
My final thoughts about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are fuck Miguel, I’m disappointed that so many spider-heroes would want to rationalize their trauma so bad that they would intentionally hurt one of their own, and of course the animation is breathtaking. Can’t wait for Beyond the Spider-Verse!
ps. I saw a tweet where someone said they want RiRi to get the Miles treatment and I totally agree. I would die to see RiRi Williams in 2D animation! She’s phenomenal with a great story, plus we’d get a young Tony Stark in 2D. RDJ would voice him no question. We’d be winning winning.
Ominis Gaunt the Humble and Very Modest (Ominis X Reader)
This fic was originally uploaded to AO3, but I thought I might as well throw it on here too.
Warnings: smut, characters are 18+
~>`)~~~
Ominis Gaunt had always been relatively self-conscious.
Maybe it was because he was blind, and could only find his own insecurities through his own touch.
Maybe it was because he had to go through several torturous years of school full of people from all different backgrounds, making it very hard for him not to compare their lives and judge himself - he envied other people's simpler lives.
Maybe it was the whispers that followed him around when he was 11. He never knew what they were about, and he never stuck around to find out. He could only guess, and most of those guesses didn't do much good to his self esteem.
He liked to consider himself modest - which he found was better than calling himself shy.
Shy was when you didn't talk to people and withdrew from conversations, choosing to be in your own company.
(He hated how that described him perfectly.)
Modest was when you covered up, and often didn't take credit for what you had done. And with modest, comes humble, which is often a good thing to be, to say the least.
Yes, Ominis Gaunt was a modest, humble man who just wanted to get on with life, thank you very much.
Now in his early twenties, with a fresh new job and fresh new atmosphere, Ominis wanted to be a bit of a different person.
Maybe more friendly; you could still be modest and humble when you were very friendly.
Maybe he'd be more outgoing; helping out in the community is a very humble thing to do, and definitely not on the shy spectrum at all.
Maybe he'd change his clothing style-
Maybe not.
Ominis considered this style the Most Modest Of Them All, as he didn't really show much skin.
At all.
He knew he had large freckles scattered all over his body, including his face; Sebastian had told him as much (actually, he'd gushed over them, calling them "constellations" and comparing Ominis to his Astronomy homework. Thanks Seb, real encouraging.)
He hated them.
Inconveniences, that's what they were. Dark, inconvenient marks scattered in inconvenient places.
He knew he was pale as a ghost, and even in the slightest ounce of sunshine, he'd start to cook like a slab of meat. He'd adopted an umbrella to carry around with him, which doubled as a parasol on warm days (although he wondered if that made him look like a bit of a pansy, and maybe more feminine than he liked.)
Sometimes, when he was alone (which was often), he'd stand in front of a mirror, wand held aloft, trying to make out the outline of himself. Sometimes he'd flicker into view, and he'd notice a loose hair or a ruffled item of clothing. He'd then proceed to fix them, then raise his wand once more.
Mirrors were hard to look at when you were blind. Not much comes out of them, since they only show a mere reflection of something, rather than the thing itself.
Aside from Ominis' dreadful self-esteem regarding his appearance, he was sure there were other good qualities to him (humble).
He was good at his job (he thinks); he worked a rather lousy yet humble desk job at the Ministry, doing odd jobs for the higher ups. He knew they knew of his family's… behaviour, so he could tell why people tended to keep their distance (still kind of hurt though, but we move forward.)
Oh, and one other thing; Ominis Gaunt had a searing, sharp, throbbing, god-awful back ache.
By Merlin was he in pain!
Every movement sent a sharp pain down his spine, making him tense up and hiss, and, on bad days, he'd let out a rather unpleasant sound in Parseltongue (he was ashamed of that.)
Sometimes the pain would be in his shoulder blades, moving to the back of his head, and he'd have to sit for hours, stiff as a board, in fear of moving and making it worse.
What a sad life Ominis Gaunt was living.
And it was exhausting.
~>`)~~~
"Ominis, are you alright?"
Ladies and gentlemen (and the rest), I present the Painful, Doubtful, Sorrowful, Humble and Modest Life of Ominis Gaunt, starring Chronic Back Pain and The Person He Was Hopelessly In Love With (but they didn't know that).
"I'm fine."
He may have said that a bit too stiffly, because he heard a shuffle and knew that his companion (his sweet-smelling, soft-speaking, and - probably - beautiful companion) had turned to look at him, and he practically felt her eyes burning through him.
He flushed. He knew that because he felt that uncomfortable heat tear through his cheeks.
"You're sitting funny." She commented.
"Am I?" He acted oblivious. Probably not wise, but he didn't want the conversation to reach uncharted territory, and he certainly didn't want his friend to worry.
But lo, the world hated Ominis Gaunt, so he suffered just a bit more.
"And your eyebrows are basically in your hairline- are you in pain?" Her voice was laced with concern, and judging by the dip in the sofa next to him, she'd shuffled a bit closer to him, probably to get a better look at him.
"I'm fine-"
"Don't lie." That monotone pinch in her voice told him he should just spit out what was wrong.
"I'm in pain." He confirmed, turning his head away from her general direction, his way of averting his unseeing eyes when he's embarrassed or bashful.
There was a tut of sympathy from her end, and her gentle fingers made contact with his sleeve, just above his bicep.
"Ominis, why didn't you tell me? Where abouts?" Her voice was soft, as if she were talking to a scared child.
Once upon a time, he was just that.
He mumbled a reply, and felt himself pouting, which he quickly tried to conceal, because a grown man pouting was just silly.
"Back…"
"Your back hurts?"
"Yeah," Ominis wrung his hands, as though he was guilty of something. Of what? Telling a friend he's in pain?
"You're tense!" Her voice was one of wonderment, the "I've just discovered something" type of voice, with a hint of sympathy.
Ominis then felt his torso slowly turning; she'd taken hold of his elbows and was gently steering him so his back faced her, and Ominis squeezed his eyes shut, mostly from the slight pain.
He felt his friend run a hand over the back of his shirt, over his shoulder blades and up to his shoulders, but never going past his collar. She did it again; over the shoulder blades, up to the shoulders. And again.
She was thinking, he could tell.
"Do you want me to massage your back?"
Ha, no.
She took note of his brief silence.
"It'll help," she prompted.
Ominis' breath quickened. In order to massage him, he'd have to take off his shirt, and if he took off his shirt, it meant she'd see him, and if she saw him, what in Merlin's name would she think?
"N-no, I wouldn't want to burden you with such bothersome antics-"
"Don't be silly, if it helps you, then we can both rest easy."
Ominis pursed his lips and furrowed his brow. It would help him, and it would probably feel really nice, but there's still the fact that she'll have to see him.
Don't be stupid Gaunt, get over yourself. The rather Aggressive Angel on his shoulder yelled in his ear. Why would she care, she's been through hell and back anyway. One massage won't alter how she thinks about you.
An excellent point, Aggressive Angel.
Ominis tried to get the devil on his other shoulder to speak up in disagreement, but it would seem that the Aggressive Angel had actively pushed him off and killed him.
C'mon, this is your chance to gain back some confidence in yourself.
Ominis sighed.
"Fine," he agreed. But if anything went wrong, he internally promised that he'd kill the Aggressive Angel himself.
"Perfect," his friend said through a smile (he could hear the grin in her voice), "um, do you want me to do it here or somewhere else?"
Oh. Right.
The two-seater sofa wasn't exactly ideal, especially since Ominis was quite tall now, and would probably break his back even more if he attempted to lay down.
Bed it was.
~>`)~~~
As Ominis stood in the doorway to his bedroom, memories flashed before him of the last time he'd invited someone onto his bed.
Of course, back then, it was an entirely different story, and definitely not like these circumstances whatsoever.
He'd met a pretty lady in the local pub; she was hearty and rather busty, and she was looking for company. He'd invited her to his house, where things got heated, they ended up in his room, where he suddenly realised that he did, in fact, hate how he looked, and requested that she lay on her front for him. He was embarrassed; the mere thought of someone seeing him so dishevelled when he couldn't even see himself made him sick with anxiety, but he was too far gone and proceeded from behind. She enjoyed it, and told him as much though the process, but she was apparently too lost in euphoria to notice that Ominis didn't even take his shirt off.
They parted as friends, and a month went by, when Ominis heard that his one night stand had gone off to the Americas to be with her "one true love". He was glad, in a way, that she didn't try to linger around him. His heart belonged to someone else as well.
It seemed they were both a bit lonely.
ANYWAY-
His companion was perched neatly on the edge of his mattress, waiting patiently for him.
Moment of truth.
He gripped the bottom of his shirt. Then he raised his arms as if he was going to yank it over his head.
No. Maybe don't do that. There's a lady present. Try to be more graceful.
Right. Of course.
He lowered his arms and started fumbling with his buttons. His fingers suddenly felt numb and stiff, and he tried to calm himself. His palms were slick with sweat and his fingers shook, and then the last button was undone and the front of his torso was out in the open and all got a bit too much for him and he instinctively pulled the fabric of his shirt closed again to preserve his modesty.
He only now noticed how cold the air in the room was. He hoped his nipples weren't like bullets.
He gripped his wand (which he always keeps handy) and raised it slightly, to help him guide where he was going-
And he noticed that after all that, his friend wasn't even on the bed anymore.
The bloody woman had gone to stand by the bloody window instead, completely turned away from him in favour of gazing into the street below
All that malarkey and she wasn't even watching. Wuss.
Shut it.
He cleared his throat and before she'd even fully turned around to face him again, Ominis Gaunt, who tried to be as graceful as he could, practically launched himself forward onto the bed, face down (ow).
His cheeks burned as he heard her let out a bark of a laugh, obviously finding his misery absolutely hilarious.
The bed dipped as she sat down again, and by god was he ready to run for the hills.
Never, ever, had he even considered this (he may have considered this once or twice) - his lady friend, the one he's been ever so slightly infatuated with and nursed a soft spot for since early Year 5 at Hogwarts, about to rub his back to ease the tension.
The irony was that this entire situation was making him tense up even more. If he formed one more knot in his back he might break a rib.
His companion then muttered something, and he heard the swish of a wand.
"Oil," she confirmed before he even asked, "It'll make it easier."
Oh. She'd conjured a bottle of oil to rub into his back. Of course. Why didn't he think of that?
Her gaze was trained in his back now, he knew it.
His breathe quickened again. What was she thinking? What did he look like? Was his back as distasteful as he'd imagined?
"Ominis, relax, or nothing will get done."
"Right, yes, sorry," his voice was muffled by the sheet.
"This might be a bit cold at first but it should warm up," she explained, before placing her hands on his shoulder blades.
Ominis gasped. A bit cold was an understatement. Bloody freezing was a lot truer.
"Sorry, sorry," she mumbled, running her hands up and down his back, then digging her thumbs into the base of his neck.
Ok, that wasn't so bad.
She worked through the knots in his back and shoulders, taking her time and kneeding the sensitive skin in a way that Ominis found rather relaxing.
Every now and then he'd let out a noise, and she would freeze momentarily, before continuing. The noises weren't of pain, more of… comfort (not pleasure. Definitely not pleasure.)
(Something stirred between his legs.)
By the time she was done, Ominis had all but melted into the bed, eyes closed and a small smile gracing his lips. He only just registered that she was tracing the freckles on his back lightly with her finger, humming softly.
Bloody freckles… weren't doing any harm. If anything, his companion seemed perfectly content with just mapping out his back using the moles as guides.
But alas, her touches must end, for Ominis had to move.
He shifted, making her jump slightly, and stretched, not unlike a cat.
Usually stretching would result in the worst pain shooting up his back, but this time he felt so free. No pain, just the beautiful feeling of relaxation.
"Better?" She asked, watching him sit up and drape his long legs over the edge of the bed.
"Better." Ominis nodded, blinking slowly.
Wow, he really was just like a cat.
"Thank you so much for doing that, you have no idea how much that means to me," he carried on, and he'd forgotten all about how his shirt wasn't on, and how his torso looked.
"My pleasure, really," she said, and she rested a hand atop his, "but next time, don't wait so long to ask for help, alright? Some of those knots felt like they'd been there for years."
"Honestly, they probably have," he admitted.
"Ominis! Why didn't you get help sooner?" Her voice wasn't scolding, but there was a disbelief that made Ominis bow his head.
"I… don't really like people seeing me…" he mumbled.
Silence.
"Why ever not?"
"Thank you for your time, my friend, but I should really-"
"You're self-conscious." A tone of realisation there.
The world really hated Ominis Gaunt.
"Maybe," he sighed, ashamed. Ashamed that she had to find out he hated himself. It made him feel selfish.
"But… why?" She asked. She really had to ask? Wasn't it obvious?
"Just… everything, I guess. Since I can't see myself I've always been hyper aware of what I think I look like."
"Well, for what it's worth, I think you're one of the best looking fellas around here. I mean, look at you!"
"I can't," was his immediate deadpan response, followed by, "you're joking." Because he found it very hard to believe her.
"I know for a fact I am not joking. Believe me when I say, you've got plenty of people - men and women - who want to 'get into your pants'." She made quotation marks with her hands when she said the last phrase (he thinks - he can hear her sleeves rustling as she raised them), but that didn't matter. Ominis turned pink, ears burning.
"Such vulgar things to say!" He exclaimed, surprised but not that much; he grew up with Sebastian, after all.
"It would seem you're into it, though."
Merlin's arse she noticed. Play it cool. A show of confidence!
…Confidence I don't have.
"I'll have you know that my boner is a result of intense relaxation." He said matter-of-factly (internally he was screaming, crying, and throwing up.)
"Right, and not because you're into whatever that was."
Ominis spluttered out more excuses.
"Ominis, shut up and kiss me."
That shut him right on up.
Her lips collided with his, and he had to swallow the gasp he almost let out. His eyes fluttered closed, and he cupped her cheek in his palm.
This was something he only saw in his teenage daydreams. Himself kissing a beautiful, kind lady on his bed. Bearing in mind that he was usually fully clothed in these dreams; he felt disgusted in himself if he imagined any more.
Hands travelled and tongues intertwined, little noises were made in the back of throats-
She palmed him through his trousers, and he kicked a leg out at the sensation, turning red at the act. She did it again, pressing down against him with the heel of her hand, grinding it forcefully, and Ominis Gaunt, humble and modest, let out the most embarrassing whimper.
Before he even had time to make up an excuse for that one, he was pushed backward by the sheer force of another body barrelling into him, and his lips were suddenly very occupied by hers.
The next kiss was messy. It was teeth and tongue and saliva, and they swallowed each other's moans, and her hands made his way to his hair and ruffled it, and for once he didn't even think about putting it right, he was far too lost in the sensation of being… loved.
She was straddling his thighs now, bearing down on him like he was her prey, and his head was tilted back to accommodate her mouth. Her hair tickled the sides of his face, and although he couldn't see it, he knew she had a pink hue dusted across her cheeks.
She grinded her hips down while he tried to rut up, causing a beautiful and torturous friction between them.
Her hands travelled over his chest, and he wondered if the sweat he was producing was enough to put her off, but then he didn't pay it much mind; her hands were soft apart from a few callouses, and the catch of her nails on his skin was enough to send him into overdrive.
Mouths still glue together, she shimmied back so she rested on his knees, and began undoing the buttons on his trousers.
The moment of truth.
The part of Ominis' brain that was still functioning was screaming at him to stop her, to take hold of her hand and guide it elsewhere, but the more muddled part of his brain (which now closely resembled a scrambled egg) was absolutely craving the attention. They'd made it this far without her drawing back in disgust, why not go all the way?
It seemed that Ominis Gaunt the Humble and Very Modest was finally letting loose.
"Oh, you're so pretty," his companion whispered in his ear, making his mouth snap shut with a clack and sending a shiver right down his spine.
She'd managed to free his length from its containment (his underwear) and gave it an unceremonious squeeze.
Ominis lurched forward, letting out yet another whimper, and by this time he didn't know nor care what facial expression she was wearing; he wanted her to do something about his erection. Now.
His fingers gripped the sheets of his bed so hard they turned white as she slid her hand up and down his length, smearing pre across the tip with her thumb and dragging back the foreskin.
Ominis let out a guttural moan, his arms reaching forward to grip at her hips, and he squeezed his eyes shut.
"Please," he begged, "please."
What he was begging for he didn't know, because the once sensible side of his brain had also turned to goo at this point, and all he could think about was her; her skilled hands pushing and pulling on him, making his hips stutter; her sweet smelling hair which kept brushing over his face; the fact she called him pretty-
That did things to him.
Her hand moved faster, and so did his heart beat. He could hear the blood pumping in his ears as a tight ball of heat settled in his lower stomach.
"Do you want to come?" His companion breathed out, never slowing her ministrations.
Ominis Gaunt the once humble and modest  muttered a string of "yes" and "please" while his whole body shook and he nodded his head frantically, and he felt his ruffled hair fall onto his forehead.
He'd forgotten about her other hand, and was very abruptly reminded of it when he felt her squeeze his balls.
His thighs shook and his toes curled at the sheer force of the orgasm, as the tightness in his belly cracked and loosened, and he dragged his companion forward as he hugged her to his chest tightly, letting out the most wanton groan he'd ever mustered, mingled with her name falling from swollen lips and spilling white liquid into her hand.
She stroked him through his high, whispering sweet nothings to him and kissing up his jaw, over his collection of freckles, and stopping just under his eye.
He calmed down, his breathing slowed and he traced the seams of her clothing.
Huh. Maybe that wasn't so bad.
"You're so beautiful."
His head snapped up to her direction, and he blinked in surprise.
"Such a pretty, handsome man." She nuzzled her face into his neck, and he couldn't help running his hands along her back as they hugged. "You should have seen yourself, such a picture. And your hair- you should keep it like that, it suits you. And your freckles," she traced the ones on his cheek with the tip of a finger, then to a spatter of them across his chest, "your beauty marks. So pretty. And your nipples," she went as far as pinching a neglected nipple, and laughed at the way his breath caught in his throat, whispering, "so sensitive."
Ominis chewed his lip, mulling her words over in his head.
She thought he was pretty. And beautiful. And handsome.
He blushed, bashful.
"Aw, don't get all shy now, it's true." She cooed, and he let out a breathy chuckle.
"If you say so-"
"I mean it." She stated firmly, hands on his bare shoulders.
There was a (comfortable) silence. They just kind of… stared at each other (she did most of the staring, Ominis was just existing in her presence.)
"You didn't get to finish." He said quietly.
"No, but that's ok-"
"Let me help you-"
He was shocked by his own boldness, but no going back now. Plus, he really did want to assist her. And feel her. And hear her.
"Well… since you're offering," he could hear the slyness in her voice as she kissed below his ear before shuffling backwards off his lap, "but let me wash my hand first."
As she slinked off to the bathroom, Ominis was left alone with his thoughts once again.
She thinks I'm pretty!! He almost squealed like a teenage girl at the thought, kicking his feet bashfully. He readjusted his trousers and stood up, grabbing his wand to do a quick sweep of the room, as if he expected something to be different.
He turned toward the mirror, and had to do a double take.
His outline was there, clearly visible to him, and showed him just how he looked.
And for once, Ominis Gaunt the Humble and Very Modest felt proud of the way he looked.
Do you think that Klaus loves Hope enough to forgive her for anything? Like say, she kills one of his love interests like Caroline, Aurora, or Cami, would he still forgive her? Or if, she killed one of his siblings like Rebekah or Kol? Personally I think that if Hope killed one of his love interests Klaus would react much the same way Elijah reacted when he killed Gia. Obviously hurt and angry, but at the end of the day, he’ll forgive her because he loves Hope more than anyone else. But I don’t know how he would react to the lost of one of his siblings. Even when he daggered them, he still loved them in his own twisted way. He refused to abandon any of them, including Finn. After all, he hauled their bodies around the world for centuries.
Klaus would forgive her, but not forget.
Before his daughter was born, Klaus was the center of his own universe. He's narcissistic, paranoid and he spends all his time making enemies anytime he much as breathed. Those enemies were trying to kill him 24/7, and that included his own family more than once.
Literally all of his siblings (except Henrik but he didn't even reach puberty) have tried to kill him at least once: Elijah in the ritual, Rebekah by summoning Mikael to New Orleans and by siding with the Scooby-Doo gang, Kol spend half of his life trying to remove his brother from earth, Finn was manipulated by Esther and Freya seemed really ready to take him off the way if he didn't stop threatening her.
I don't remember Klaus seriously trying to kill any of his siblings: he just daggered them and kept them in coffins so they wouldn't be away, but the only people in his family he tried to seriously murder were Mikael and Esther, but that might be wrong because this characters are constantly being rewritten to fit into the narrative so correct me if I'm not in the right. And judging by how much Marcel and Klaus went back in their threats, they would never be able to actually kill the other and Marcel even said he couldn't hate him, because he's his father and stuff.
It's not hard to see that Klaus is toxically attached to his family members and he allowed Finn, his least favorite sibling and someone who originally intented to harm Hope, to live despite everything because he did love his brother no matter what.
So if Hope ever wanted to hurt anyone of his inner circle I don't see him taking it well, but I also don't see him hating her for it. Especially taking into account how Hope is: the only way I could see her ever harming anyone in her family is by having her humanity off, and not even then because when she had it she was only bullying all of them except Marcel (stan her for that btw.)
It's obvious how much he loves her, so I'll skip it and go straight to the point: Klaus would 100% forgive Hope, that girl could set the world on fire and he wouldn't give a fuck as long as she is safe and sound. But if she ever harmed anyone he cares about it would definitely hurt him. I don't see him picking the same strategy he always goes for whenever someone hurts him, that is playing the victim. No, Klaus would be definitely disappointed and hurt for a long time and that may strain their relationship for a while, but that wouldn't change his love for her.
Again, I can't see Hope hurting someone she/he loves in purpose without having her humanity off and not even then, but Klaus wouldn't hold it against her.
He would forgive her, because as Marcel said, Klaus will love the very worst of her until the oceans are dust.
