The Enneagram Types at a Pool Party

Type One: Probably laying out with big sunglasses on talking about how they could have decorated the pool better than the host did.

Type Two: Definitely made snack trays and brought them, giving everyone juice boxes, etc. They are also taking a LOT of pictures and talking their friends’ ears off. Type Three: Almost definitely the host of the pool party. Spends a lot of the time laying out; talks a lot about how much they spent on the pool, how beautiful it is, etc.

Type Four: Pretending they are in a movie while they lay out and stare off into the distance, occasionally dipping their feet into the pool. Type Five: Either stayed inside or, if they do decide to come outside, they are sitting in the shade on their computer or reading a book. Type Six: Making sure everyone has sunscreen on. Definitely had a checklist and is freaking out if they forgot to bring something.

Type Seven: Jumping off the diving board, going down the slide, doing flips, literally just acting like little pool heathens the entire time they are there. Little wild people. Type Eight: They might be laying out and are the person to yell at you if you tip their float. Has shoved at least three people into the pool. 50/50 chance they jump into the pool like the seven has been. Type Nine: Probably was laying out in a chair and fell asleep, they are absolutely getting sunburnt as shit and they know it, they don’t care they are just tired.

what do you think are the Batfam’s enneagram types? Specifically Bruce, Dick, Jason, Cass, Tim, Damian, Barbara and Steph, And anyone else you think important (l think Dick is mostly a type 2 and 1. Haven’t looked into the others yet) I’m asking because I think knowing a character’s personality type (OC or not) can help you write them in character, and I know a personality test probably isn’t going to fit them 100% just like real people but it could be a great guide

Bruce

Bruce is a 5 no doubt.

I feel like this is pretty self-explanatory. The description is a checklist of his personality traits.

Dick

Dick is 1, 2, and 3.

I would say 3 is his overarching personality, 1 is a secondary/support of the main one - 3 - and 2 is the other half of his personality. The thing about Dick is that he feels an almost pathological need to keep succeeding, keep doing better, and break every limit. It's not for anyone else, it's for himself because he doesn't feel like himself if he's not perfect. All of 1, 2, and 3's traits

Jason

Jason is an 8.

Ever since his Robin days, Jason has always been more on the willful side. As in, I want to do my own thing. Deal with it. And after coming back as Red Hood he wasn't initially self-confident but he's grown into it. No one can influence him to do anything and he's ready to throw hands if someone pushes too much.

Tim

Tim is a 5 or 6.

Smart, genius boy detective obviously (he's no isolated tho) so that explains 5 but Tim leans more towards 6. He's loyal to the cause and he's very responsible. But he's also a huge cute dork who's always on the look out for something that is off and he's always worried and thinking about what's wrong and what could go wrong. He's mainly a 6 with a little bit of 5 added in (perceptive, innovative, sometimes secretive).

Cass

Cass is a 5.

Cass and Bruce are identical. The way they think and act, Cass is a like a Batman 2.0 but better.

Steph

Steph is a 4.

DC really wants her to be a 7-

But I wrote a whole essay on why she's not a 7, but a 4 instead. She's not self-absorbed in the "I only love myself" way, she more of a "How can I constantly improve myself" type. When something bad happens her mind can get really down in the dumps about it but she tries her best to be positive - she's not withdrawn but expressive, dramatic, and temperamental definitely.

Damian

Dami is 3 or 8.

The achiever was instilled in him by his mother to constantly work to be the best at whatever he tries and now it's just a part of his personality. He's very self-conscious. 8 because like Jason, he does what he wants when he wants. No one can tell him what to do (unless it's Dick but gosh Bruce really tried).

Duke

Duke is 9.

Duke is extremely strong-willed but he does it in a nice way. He works towards heroism and every action he takes, it's aimed at helping people. He has a very strong sense of right and wrong and nothing will stop him from doing what is right. That being said, he gets along with everyone and is very easy going and caring, it's just that he won't compromise his morals for it. He's very loving in like a familial way.

Barbara

Barbara is an 8.

Dominant. She has a strong need to be in control at all times and know everything and when something gets in the way of that control, she gets very angry and persistent. She's confident in her abilities and makes decisions in which no one can influence her. She knows what she wants and she will get it whatever may come.

Enneagram Type Classification Of Merlin Characters

This post will seek to classify the personalities of some of the main recurring characters of the TV show using the Ennegram Personality Model.

It is a rather simple system and helps provide basic understanding of the characters core traits, desires, fears & motivation.

This system classifies 9 broad personality types.

For the sake of being concise, this post will only focus on 7 characters who I think can be accurately described using the model.

The Reformer

Traits :

Purposeful ; Self-Controlled ; Perfectionist

Desires :

To resist being affected by their instinctual drives, consciously not giving in to them or not expressing them too freely.

Fears :

Being defective

Motivated By :

Need To Be Right ; Improving Everything ; Justifying Themselves

The result is a personality type that has problems with repression, resistance, and aggression.

They are usually seen by others as highly self- controlled, even rigid, although this is not how they perceive themselves.

It seems to them that they are sitting on a cauldron of passions and desires, and they have to repress it, least they and everyone else around them regret it.

To feel loved and worthy

The result is a personality type that try to enliven others with their appreciation and attention and helps people to see positive qualities in themselves that they had not previously recognized.

On the downside, they have a tendency to become over-involved in the lives of others, and can manipulate others to get their own emotional needs met.

Success-Oriented ; Image-Conscious ; Out Of Touch With Emotions

Desires :

To feel valuable and worthwhile

Fears :

Being worthless

Motivated By :

The need to be affirmed, to distinguish themselves, to have attention and be admired

The result is a personality type that are often successful and well liked because they believe in themselves and in developing their talents and capacities.

They act as living “role models” and paragons because of their extraordinary embodiment of socially valued qualities.

They want to make sure their lives are a success, however that is defined by their family, their culture, and their social sphere.

They will try to become somebody noteworthy in their family and their community.

They will not be a “nobody.”

The downside is that, in the headlong rush to achieve whatever they believe will make them more valuable, they can become so alienated from themselves that they no longer know what they truly want, or what their real feelings or interests are.

In this state, they are easy prey to deceit, and falseness of all kinds.

The Enthusiast

Traits :

Spontaneous ; Impulsive ; Scattered

Desires :

To be content

Fears :

Being deprived and in pain

Motivated By :

The need to maintain their freedom and happiness, avoid missing out and keep themselves occupied

They can be described as extremely optimistic, exuberant and upbeat.

They are endowed with abundant vitality and a desire to fully participate in their lives each day.

They are naturally cheerful and good humored, not taking themselves too seriously, or anything else for that matter

However in pursuit of whatever seems to offer freedom and satisfaction, they tend to make worse choices, and they are less able to be satisfied because everything is experienced indirectly, through the dense filter of their fast-paced mental activity.

The result is that they can end up anxious, frustrated, and enraged, with fewer resources available to them be they physical, emotional, or financial.

They may end up ruining their health, their relationships, and their finances in their search for happiness.

The Challenger

Decisive, Willful, Confrontational

Desires :

To be in control of their life and destiny

They are true “rugged individualists”. This results in a personality that often refuse to “give in” to social convention, and they can defy fear, shame, and concern about the consequences of their actions.

Although they are usually aware of what people think of them, they do not let the opinions of others sway them.

They go about their business with a steely determination that can be awe inspiring, even intimidating to others.

On the downside, when they feel hurt and rejected they will attempt to defend themselves by rejecting others first.

The result is that they become blocked in their ability to connect with people or to love.

Agreeable ; Calm ; Complacent

Desires :

To have peace of mind

Loss and separation

Motivated By :

The need to create harmony, avoid conflict, preserve things as they are, resist whatever would upset or disturb them

The result is a personality type that demonstrate the universal temptation to ignore the disturbing aspects of life and to seek some degree of peace and comfort by “numbing out.”

They respond to pain and suffering by attempting to live in a state of premature peacefulness, whether it is in a state of false spiritual attainment, or in more gross denial.

They have a tendency to run away from the paradoxes and tensions of life by attempting to transcend them or by seeking to find simple and painless solutions to their problems

The Investigator

Cerebral ; Isolated ; Cynical

Desires :

To be capable and competent

Fears :

Being incapable or helpless

Motivated By :

The need to possess knowledge and understand the world

The result is a personality that wants to retain everything that they have learned and carry it around in their heads.

The problem is that while they are engrossed in this process, they are not interacting with others or even increasing many other practical and social skills.

They devote more and more time to collecting and attending to their collections and less to anything related to their real emotional needs.

Ok i did not know off the top of my head, but I took it for Twitch and he's an ENFP (campaigner) and a 2w7. I'm not very familiar with enneagram but the MBTI thing makes total sense. although whats funny to me is that although I tend to think of his intuition as one of his strongest traits, it was his least polarized in the N trait, while he was extremely strong in the other traits.

E- Extraverted N-Intuitive F-Feeler P-Prospecting

2- Helper 7-Enthusiast.

So basically Twitch's personality is he loves helping people and being with them and feeling big emotions.

Jay Mendoza was born on December 17, 1989, in Atlanta Georgia, to Miseal and Angelien "Angie" Mendoza (née Coeman).

His maternal grandfather was a former Big Sky region champion bull rider and a professional saddle bronc rider who taught him everything he knows about the sport. The Coemans grew up on a 12,000 acre ranch outside of Atlanta where they raise about 400 head of cattle per year.

As a small child, Jay could remember crawling on his grandfather’s back before he was bucked around their living room for eight seconds. He would then turn to his mother and ask her, "How many seconds was that?"

After awhile, Jay craved more of a challenge and moved on from riding sheep and calves, to steers and bulls.

Jay started exclusively riding bulls when he was in the 8th grade. By 2006, he was the Northern Rodeo Association year-end champion, earning $60,000 in his junior year of high school. His following senior year (2007), he was homeschooled so he pursue bull riding full time.

In 2009, Jay turned pro. He was a champion in the PBR circuit for 8 seasons before an accident (which resulted in a broken jaw and broken ribs) and the threat of losing his family forced him into retirement (2019?).

In the height of his bull riding career, Jay had let his fame and fortune get the best of him. Despite marrying his wife, Megan in 2010 and falling head over heels in love with her... he strayed from their marriage with a woman he met in the stands at one of his rodeos. (timestamp, tbd.)

Little did he know, she was a Georgian herself and came from a rather affluent family. Georgie took him by surprise and their whirlwind affair carried on for 2.5 years before it inevitably crashed and burned. Although it was wrong, Jay fell for her too and the two promised each other the world in the height of their romance.

That was until Megan found out about Georgie and issued Jay an ultimatum: he either end things with the homewrecker who threatened to ruin their lives for good and he choose her or he risk losing not only his marriage but his soon to be child on the way. Jay, having endured a life without a father figure of his own (because his father had been an actor who always cared more about his fans than his family at home) chose his wife and therefore their unborn child.

A month later, Jay discovered the truth. That, his wife Megan had actually not been pregnant at all and she only lied that so he would cut Georgie loose.

Devastated, angered, and betrayed, Jay walked out on her. But it wasn't long before he came crawling back. It was at that point, Jay made a more conscious effort and decision to work on his and Megan's rocky marriage.

A few more good (and bad) years came to pass, before the two finally welcomed a beautiful, baby boy into the world named Julian "Jude" Mendoza. Who Jay has resolved to calling "Jack", if not only to piss off his wife but because it's what his grandfather used to call him and it was done so in his memory.

As much as Jay loves Jack and has truly adapted to the role of being a father, his arrival into the world did little to hold his and Megan's marriage together. In fact, it only drove the estranged couple further apart.

Two years since Jack was born and no amount of marriage counseling had been enough to fix the cracks that kept appearing in their relationship.

Eight months ago, Jay and Megan decided to move forward with a separation. According to the law, they would have to maintain this separation for a full year in order to then file for divorce. That's why Jay has returned to Georgia.

But, rather than making himself at home on his mother's family's ranch again, he's settled into Covington where he lives with one of his best friends Stevie, who he met while cruising the PBR circuit many years ago and who helped set him up with a horse handling gig at Willowing Pines.

As of now, he shares custody of Jack with his (still legal) wife and gets him every other week for 7 days. It helps having someone like Stevie who not only keeps Jay in line but also humbles him and offers constructive guidance.

His dad is a famous actor (a Mexican Patrick Dempsey type) who films many of his projects in Atlanta where Jay was born and raised.

His mom, however, is a Kama Sutra coach (and former equestrian rider) who met his dad while helping him hone his sexual skill set for a film. They hit it off on the set of a television production similar to Game of Thrones.

Since he was a young boy, Jay sort of grew up in the public eye however, as he got older he realized he wanted less and less to do with it and gravitated more so to his mom's side of the family (having bonded so closely with his Grandpap who he sometimes calls 'Pappy').

He's always loved engaging in dangerous stunts and garnering praise and attention that way. Hence how he got into a lot of his current vices, such as: bull-riding, motorbiking, drag racing, etc. He lives life on the edge and is known for being an "adrenaline junkie".

In his early 20s, he tried his hand at acting for a brief, fleeting, period of time (mostly for the money and also because he was bored) and was featured in a few adult/porn films. One of which he roleplayed a cowboy lol. Though, he used an alias similar to a stripper name in case anyone ever tried googling his name. They called him "Johnny Steel".

Jay is the only one who exclusively calls his son Julian (Jude), "Jack". Besides, of course, Stevie too sometimes. As mentioned above somewhere up there ^^, it's mostly because it pisses off his wife and she hates it. But it's also because that's what his Pappy used to call him and it's what he wanted to name him but Megan wouldn't allow him.

He's made a fortune bull-riding but has hidden 75% of it away for Jack for when he comes of age. Jay wants him to use it for college or for whatever his heart desires.

Jay's super into horology which is the study of time and the art of measuring it. His Pappy, aside from being a rancher and bronco rider, built watches and took them apart growing up. He used to let Jay help him which is where his fascination with time really began.

He's very into masculine activities. And loves racing and fixing up cars too. If he hadn't gone into bull riding, Jay fully believes he would've opened up an autobody shop and become a mechanic.

Oh dear, those posts about PDB just reminded me of that one time when I somehow ended up in a lengthy debate about 4‘s on there. I quit when they started to insult me for not acknowledging how their core motivation is their relationships and their love for people. Because HEART triad, duh.

They also didn‘t believe in the existence of stances and all that, because the word ‚frustration‘ was dumb and misleading, and didn‘t fit their idea of how 4‘s work. So it must be false, obviously.

"My motivation is my relationships and my love for people" <- 2s. :P

90% of "online 4s" are mistyped 6s and 9s, but a few are 2s.

I had a run-in of a similar nature a while back, where a "sunny 4" outed herself as a 6 by "reacting" (I could sense the rising hysteria in her "tone" at being "challenged" and her anxiously over-reacting to it) to the idea of stances and the frustration triad. She informed me that was stupid and wrong and sounded fake' she had never heard of it; nobody would EVER choose to feel constantly frustrated (who would do that?), and assured me that her 7 father would laugh hysterically at the idea of being part of a "frustration triad." She then assured me that she is an actual 4 by pointing to her authority (the Ennegram teacher that told her she is an sp4). I let it go, but it was such a prime example of 6-ness that it will forever stick in my mind. It was so obvious to me that, like every other 6, once 'attacked' (made insecure by a difference of opinion on what 4s are like -- I was answering a question that did not even involve her or address her in any way), she could think about nothing else and was still upset about it four hours later. 4s do not obsess about "whatever is happening" in the way that 6s do, but being "shook up" about their identity as a 4 would send any 6 into an anxiety spiral of their own making (what if I am wrong? what if they are right? but they told me this! it must be true!! they are professionals who studied it and TOOK MY MONEY!!!).

In fairness to a lot of people, most of the 4 descriptions are heavily influenced by 9s who think they are 4s, including a couple of the Enneagram teachers/authors -- so they play down the elitism and frustration and focus on the positivity of being seen as "different," "unique," "dreamy," and especially, "emotional." So any emotional person (like a 2 or a 4 or even a 9) reads that and identifies with it, because so many of them LIKE beautiful things, and are touched by things. So any character that goes "not gonna do it your way, gonna be myself :)" must be a 4, when in reality, most of them are attachment types pushing away from people.

When consider what a character's type is, people should factor in what way each type is intolerable to everyone else -- a 6 is obnoxious because they second-guess and change their mind so much; but a 4 is obnoxious because they are pretentious in a condescending way.

I am 26, she/her, nickname JCat. 155.5 cm tall (or a little over 5'1), fair-skinned with moles (but I call them [human] sum spots) stocky build and with fluff (I am a good pillow according to the animals and children that have fallen asleep ob me). Medium-length blonde hair and blue-gray eyes with green around the pupils. Wear glasses and have really poor eyesight (near-sighted)

Personality-wise: in character comparison, I am a genderbent, human Toothless from HTTYD, or a combo of Steve Rogers/Captain America and Loki from the MCU (or Phil Coulson if you've seen Agents of Shield). To clarify, I am a pretty friendly and easy-going person, with a streak of mischief. I tend to be a mom-friend in a sense that I make sure that my friends take care of themselves and give good advice (compliment from my friends). While mostly someone who entertains, I can be quite the trickster should the need arise. But I often try to stay within my morals and make sure I don't intentionally hurt those on my side.

While very good with kids (which is why my mom got me working at a daycare for about 3 years) I don't want my own, due to fear of pregnancy and my driven need to venture out and explore the world. But when it comes down to it, I'd probably adopt an orphan if I've taken a big liking to them.

weirdly enough I believe E7 and E8 to have allot of similarities.

Lust and Indulgement

The 7

However the differences can be seen on how they approach life. The 7 yearns for freedom and pleasure (by pleasure I mean a general enjoyment of life) thats why their biggest problem is Gluttony. They want to enjoy everything at its fullest. Allot 7s imo have a 3 ish material desire BUT unlike the E3 who likes pretty things due to its aesthetic and value, the 7 enjoys them for the joy it brings to them.

Gluttony in the enneagram is an excessive need to consume indulgence.

The 8

Unlike the 7 the 8 doesn't look to enjoy things but rather have a full anatomical control of itself. The 8 tend to have a black and white view of things. They are natural go getters and dont mind being more abrupt about the things they want unlike the 7 who is more calm. Which is why their vice is lust incredibly fitting imo.

Always found these fun. Alright, I'm INTP-T, but around people that know me I'm more known as the clown lmao. Even tho It's not me at all I'd say, hah. I hate to be the center of attention. I hate to be stared at, not to mention I have trobule speaking since i stutter quite often and its my biggest insecurity. I am a libra. Uhhh i did the ennegram but I don't know that much about it. I got type 5. Actually me and Ranpo have the same birthday lmao. Anyway, im quite the sarcastic person. I have been called blunt before, and sassy. Im quite loud when im comftorble but otherwise im really quiet. I get annoyed quiet easily but i rarely get actually pissed. I mostly laugh about it. I dont take things seriously quite often.

I like to annoy people I feel close to, but not too much. In fact im scared if they got mad at me. So i don't try to go too close towards the line. Id probably freeze and get this sinking feeling in my chest. I like to show people i care about by touch. Head pats, hugs, jokeful antics. All of that. I wouldnt call myself strongly smart, but i wouldnt call myself stupid. I love videogames and im an digital artist. My highest kins are Dazai, Hu Tao (Genshin impact) and Futaba Sakura (Persona5)

Ahhh okay I'll keep this as short as I can! So the ennegram test is a personality test that focuses most on your biggest motivation and worst fear. It deals with anger, sadness/grief, and fear as responses to past struggles from childhood. There's 9 different types and usually you get one type leaning towards a similar one (for instance, a 6 with a wing 5, or a 7 wing 8). The album that Two is from is actually somewhat of a collaboration with the ennegram test where each song is about the ennegram type its titled after (figure out your type and then listen to that track: trust me. That shit hits). I find it easier to deal with than Meyers Briggs because there's less types to keep track of!

Okay so I took the ennegram quiz a few more times these past few months but I keep consistently getting type 7, 7w6 to be specific. I know in my soul that I am a type 2, literally everything about that type fits so well, like Cinderella's glass slipper, but I'm just wondering how much has my personality changed these past few months that I jumped from a 2 to a 7 🤣
