The next day after all has happened, Zhongli noticed how you seem to be… happier.
You really weren’t lying when you told him last night that you and Diluc have been getting along pretty well, because you surely never seem to take your eyes off of your phone as you type out responses to your newly found friend the whole time in the hotel room.
By the time you take your eyes off your phone is when you came out of the hotel room to do your activities for the day, such as eating breakfast, taking a stroll around the garden once more, visiting the convenience store once again, hanging out with a friend of yours by Good Hunter, and so on.
The thing is, all of these had one thing in common.
Besides a certain experience, you kept seeing a certain red-haired man to the point where it’s no longer a coincidence. Do you two just really have the same schedule or something?
As you lined up for the buffet with your plate in hand, you were tempted to grab your phone and check if you received any message from a certain man, still smiling from enjoying your last conversation with him on the phone.
It wasn’t until you hear someone clearing his throat behind you when you turn around from recognizing it, causing your eyes to brighten at the sight of the familiar man you’ve been talking to for the past hour earlier.
“Diluc!” You greeted happily.
“( Name ).” He greeted, also pleasantly surprised.
“I thought you were out for work already! Didn’t you mention you often go to Angel’s Share early?” You ask curiously.
He nodded in response. “I do. Just not today it seems, I have something important to do today.”
The two of you started picking your foods by the time the food is now displayed in front of you after taking a step forward, choosing what you want to eat for breakfast all the while chatting with Diluc – a major difference a few days ago when you and the man were suffering from the awkward silence between you two.
Turns out, Diluc supposedly had a plus one, but the person wasn’t able to make it due to not having time, hence how he finds himself being alone. Today, however, is the day when the plus one visits the hotel just to greet the wedding couple and wish them well, who will be leaving tomorrow for their honeymoon.
You’re curious to know who his plus one is, but you wouldn’t be surprised if it’s someone as important and highly regarded as him.
Once you two finished picking your meal at the same time, you started heading towards where Zhongli is, who’s waiting for you to come at last. You paid no mind how Diluc is following you, perhaps he’s heading towards his table as well that’s in the same direction as yours.
“You could sit with me and Zhongli if you want. You two seem to know each other back then before we visited your establishment.” You offered with a smile, carefully holding your plate in fear of dropping it.
He shakes his head. “Oh I’ll be alright. Mr. Zhongli has visited Mondstadt back then a few times and would come by for a nice tea and brunch. Though, he tends to have his chatty friend with him whenever he does.”
You can’t help but grin when he mentioned the chatty friend. “You mean Venti?”
Diluc nodded. “Yes. He usually comes around to drink a lot of alcohol. It’s a miracle he didn’t get any sickness from drinking so much.”
You visibly imagine Venti drinking lots of alcohol, causing you to laugh at the thought. “Well I’m not surprised to hear that. He seems the kind to do that.”
Before you knew it, you’re finally at your table, causing you to stop your tracks instantly and bid Diluc goodbye before sitting on your seat. If it weren’t for you noticing Zhongli waving at you as well as Diluc slowing down his walk, you would’ve not noticed the fact that you almost walked past your table thanks to you being distracted with your conversation.
“Let’s talk again next time. Enjoy your meal, Diluc.” You said as you watched Diluc giving you an acknowledged nod before walking away to where his table is.
By the time Diluc is long far away, Zhongli decides to speak up after taking a sip of his tea. “You know, I was starting to think you were too busy being indecisive on your food, but I suppose I was wrong.” He said with amusement.
You chuckled, picking up your eating utensils. “Consider yourself lucky that I wasn’t in the mood to eat seafood, lest I decide to tease you with it.”
You feel satisfied seeing the cringe look on his face, grinning to yourself as you take a bite of your food.
After eating breakfast, you and Zhongli went back to your hotel room and got ready for your first activity. While your friend is getting ready to go somewhere, you decided to go visit the convenience store to buy some snacks.
You wanted to try something new this time, so you decided to choose snacks that are from Mondstadt instead of Liyue or Inazuma. Of course, you wouldn’t forget the ones Zhongli wanted, particularly another certain drink.
“It’s a non-alcoholic drink called Fruits of the Festival.” He says as he zips his bag that contains the things he needed. “Venti recommended that we drink some now that there are a lot of them in stock for the celebration of the upcoming Weinlesefest festival.”
With that in mind, perhaps you should’ve taken into consideration that the drink would possibly be out of stock soon , because by the time you encounter the aisle that supposedly contains the Fruits of the Festival, there was only one bottle left.
Just as you’re about to take the bottle, you didn’t notice how someone else was reaching out to it as well, causing your hand to touch his.
Surprised, you look at the person who’s getting the same item as you, only to be even more surprised when you realize who it is.
“...Diluc?”
“( Name )?”
You can’t help but let out a laugh, not believing that you saw your friend again coincidentally. “Oh wow, I didn’t expect to see you here! Are you trying to get this one?” You asked, gesturing to the drink you’re still touching.
He hums in agreement. “Don’t worry, I could always get the other one.” He said, about to let go until you immediately let go of it.
“Ah no, no, no! It’s better if you take this one since it’s the last one. Consider it a payment for letting me have the grape juice last time.” You said with a laugh, gesturing to the man to take the drink.
He shakes his head, letting go of the drink. “It’s fine, you can take it. I wouldn’t want you to miss out tasting something such as the Fruits of the Festival.”
You refuse to get the drink. “Oh come on, it’s better if you’re the one who’ll get this.”
“No, no. It’s fine.”
“Just get it, Diluc.”
“I prefer you getting it.”
“No you–”
Suddenly, someone else takes the drink in front of the two of you, causing you to flinch in surprise.
“Brother Albedo! Is this blue drink the one you’re talking about?” A little girl with a red dress says before running towards where her brother is with the drink in hand, leaving you and Diluc stunned.
“...”
“...”
You can’t help but laugh. “Oh man, this reminds me of what happened back then.” You said, remembering the way you and Diluc fell into the same situation and kept insisting on who’s taking the drink.
His lips twitch upward. “Likewise. We really have come a long way after that.”
You nodded in agreement with a smile. “We have. Though it’s really a shame none of us got the drink. I’m sure they’ll restock soon.”
“We can visit tomorrow if you’d like.” Diluc offers. “I’m sure my plus one will be asking to go visit the store to buy some together, you can join us.”
You shake your head. “Ah, no need! I wouldn’t want to bother you catching up with whoever your plus one is. I’m sure I’ll eventually be able to try it when I hang out with my friend later.”
He nods in understanding. “Very well then. I hope you’ll enjoy the drink. If you somehow weren’t able to drink it, you could always visit Angel’s Share. It’ll be available today or tomorrow.”
Your eyes brighten, remembering the delightful establishment. Now that you think about it, you do miss their drinks there – so it wouldn’t exactly hurt to go there before you and Zhongli leave to the airport. “Alright, I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks again, Diluc.”
“See you next time, ( Name ).”
Then you two parted ways, unaware that next time is very much later.
After coming back to the hotel from the convenience store, you were itching to go visit the garden after passing by the entrance. Perhaps it wouldn’t hurt to wait there for your friend instead of here when it’s time for you two to hang out.
Which is what led you to immediately get ready for your hangout once you finished unpacking the things you bought from the store.
“How do I look?” You ask Zhongli as you come out from the bathroom, now fully dressed for your brunch. “Do I look alright?”
You watched as your friend looked away from his book, looking at your outfit carefully before nodding in confirmation with a smile. “Yes, you look great.”
You sigh in relief, grabbing your bag from your bed to start packing up your things. “That’s good. What will you be doing while I’m gone?”
Zhongli shrugs in response. “I don’t have any plans for today, but a walk around the garden would be nice later.”
“Alright. I’ll be back in a while.” You said, checking your phone for any messages (from a certain man) before putting it inside your bag.
“Have fun, ( Name ). Don’t forget to tell Diluc I said hi.” He said with a chuckle, remembering what you told him about the wine tycoon today.
Your mouth opens agape. “Wow– Alright, whatever. Have fun too, Zhongli.”
As you zip your bag closed after getting all the things you need, you immediately head towards the door. Maybe I should try taking pictures of some of the scenery, You thought to yourself.
Fortunately the trip to the garden didn’t take long, and by the time you entered the hotel’s beautiful garden, you delightfully inhaled the fresh air. Thank Celestia it’s a good day today, you thought, looking around your surroundings.
As you walk around the area trying to find a place to sit on, you bring out your phone to take a few pictures. You were so fascinated with how each flower looked amazing in the pictures you took – with the lightning and atmosphere bringing ethereal energy to your pictures.
While admiring the pictures you took, you didn’t notice a person walking towards the same direction as you, causing you to accidentally bump into them.
“Ah, so sorry!” You said with a yelp, maintaining your balance. “I didn’t mean to bump into you–” Your eyes widens when you realize who you bump into.
“The apologies are all mine, I should’ve watched where I was goin–” The red-haired man’s words slowly trail off when he hears your voice, now realizing who’s in front of him.
“..Diluc?”
“( Name )?”
You let out a laugh once more. “Oh wow, I can’t believe this! I’m starting to think this isn’t a coincidence now – since when have you started visiting the garden?”
“Just now. I wanted to see what it looks like during the daytime. What brings you here as well?”
“Ah, I wanted to take a stroll around the garden while waiting for my friend to come and pick me up so we can go have brunch. This place is really beautiful, isn’t it?” You replied, keeping your phone aside.
He hums in agreement. “It is.”
You then thought of something. “Wanna walk around the place together while I’m waiting for my friend?” You asked.
“I don’t mind.” He said with a nod.
And so, you two continued where you left off from last night in the garden, talking about Weinlesefest as you wait for your friend to come.
Throughout the stroll, Diluc explained to you all the things you needed to know about the upcoming festival. Apparently, the Weinlesefest festival is more about making new wine as they invite their Archon to drink with everyone. So it makes sense that someone like Diluc, whose entire business and establishment is famous for the amazing wine, is currently thinking of something that could make good wine.
He also explained about what you could do if you participate in the festival, particularly visit Springvale and explore around the place since it’s where the festival will be held. Ah, just hearing all the things you could do and eat made you want to consider extending your stay, but alas, you think one week in one of your favorite regions is enough for you. Besides, even if you decide to extend your stay, only Celestia knows what would happen to you once you’re back to work.
While you converse with your friend, you couldn’t help but notice the way he looks as though there’s something in his mind. You didn’t find the guts to ask him though, thinking you’re meddling into his business if you do so. Still, you’re a bit concerned that something bad happened and you want to at least help – it’s the least you can do for everything he did for you.
Before you could bring up and ask what’s on his mind, you hear someone calling out your name.
“ ( Name )! Over here!” Your eyes light up when you hear the familiar voice of your friend, causing you and Diluc to turn around and look at the person who’s calling you.
“Thoma, there you are!” You greeted, walking towards the blonde-haired man who’s also walking towards you. “And here I thought you weren’t gonna show up any time soon, what took you so long?”
Thoma spreads his arms wide as you give him a hug. “Aw man, I’m sorry for being late! I was busy helping Ayato out with preparing for his next trip, I didn’t notice that I was about to be late.” He explains. The two of you quickly separate each other from your hug.
He looks at where Diluc is, causing him to stand up straight and offer the tycoon his hand. “Hello! You must be the infamous Diluc Ragnvindr. A pleasure to meet you!” He says with a smile.
Diluc didn’t hesitate to shake Thoma’s hand, giving him an acknowledged nod. “Likewise. I would like to congratulate you for your efforts in this wedding, it’s truly amazing.”
The blonde-haired man lets out a bashful laugh. “Oh you’re too kind, Mr. Ragnvindr! I hope I wasn’t bothering you two, did I?”
You hesitantly look at Diluc, who remains the same expression as always, before looking back at your friend with a smile. “Ah not really. We were just talking about the Weinlesefest festival until we heard you.”
“That’s good to hear. I’m a bit disappointed that I won't be able to experience the festival though.” Thoma lets out a sigh. “Oh well, there’s nothing we can do about it. Mind if I take ( Name ) away, Mr. Ragnvindr?”
Diluc nodded in response. “Of course since that’s what they’re here for. I’ll see you next time once again, ( Name ).”
You gave the red-haired man a grateful smile. “See you next time, Diluc. It was fun talking to you!”
The purpose of your brunch with Thoma is simple. Catch up with one another, talk about the things you’ve missed in Inazuma while you talk about the things he missed in your trip.
So why, why do you feel so bothered?
Despite being able to listen to your dear friend and keep up with your conversation, your mind lingers on Diluc. You’re still worried about how he seems to be out of it back in the garden – is it perhaps because of how he needs to think of a new wine?
“You know, I’m glad you and Ayato had spoken to one another about what happened back then.” Thoma confesses, causing you to be taken back by surprise. “I hope you won’t be offended with what I have to say but.. You look happier than before.”
You raise your eyebrows from his words. Happier?
“I… I didn’t notice that.” You replied, letting out a small laugh. “Am I really that happy because of how me and Ayato have resolved?”
Thoma lets out a small laugh as well. “Well, that’s just my guess. Did something else happen that made you happier than that?” He asks.
You took a second to think about it. It’s true that ever since you and Ayato have made up, everything's been going a bit well for you, but then again, it’s sort of weird how you’re a lot happier about it than normal.
Is it… really just because of that?
Seeing how you hesitated, Thoma’s eyes slightly widened in surprise. “Wait, did something actually happen?”
You look away from Thoma, a bit flustered. “I-I really don’t know either!”
“Really?”
“Yeah!”
“Then… It’s not about someone, is it?”
You begin to scratch the back of your head. “Well… I did become friends with Diluc…? That’s the only thing that happened besides me and Ayato talking each other out about what happened.” You said, looking at your friend while you fiddled with your fingers. “He’s fun to talk to, I’ll admit. I had a lot of fun for the past few days thanks to him.”
The blonde haired man nods in agreement. “I can tell. Every time I look at you during the bachelor and reception, you look like you’re having fun talking to him,” He then lets out a laugh. “It honestly reminded me of back then when you and Ayato were still pining for each other.”
You look at him in confusion, still smiling. “Huh? What do you mean?”
“Well for starters, it’s the way you’re looking and talking to him. You always pay attention to him and everything he says that you don’t focus on eating your food or your surroundings much — I was able to see you while I was hosting the bachelor party.” He explains. “...Of course, I’m sure you don’t see Mr. Ragnvindr that way though, right?”
You slowly glance down at your food, processing his words carefully.
…Huh.
You didn’t notice how Thoma’s face slightly fell from how you didn’t answer his question. “...You don’t see him that way, right?” He repeats.
You want to answer yes, but something is holding you back. You don’t understand, you don’t really see Diluc that way right? You two are just friends – and yes, there were some moments between you two whereas your new friend made you feel… things – but that’s normal, right?
This feeling… Isn’t surely the same as what you felt towards Ayato back then, is it?
Then again… When was the last time you had fallen in love?
You wipe your now sweaty palms on your lap, starting to feel a bit conflicted from your thoughts and feelings. Even if you are in love with him, how could you even deal with it? How can you even face him knowing your feelings? What if you end up being heartbroken?
But if you aren’t in love with him, why does that make you feel.. Unsatisfied?
You can’t help but think about him, and you realize you’ve always been thinking about him for the past few days. He makes you happy obviously, there’s never a dull moment with him besides when you two first interacted with one another, and he’s understanding and gentle. The gentle look he gives you as he respectfully treats you well makes you feel… something.
He also treats you equally and always manage to get along with you despite your differences to one another. Not to mention how you always smile whenever you think of him, something that Zhongli had pointed out one time — and how you couldn’t help but always get excited at the thought of what’s to come for you and Diluc the next day—
Oh.
Oh.
Meanwhile, Thoma tries to think of a way to change topics. “It’s alright if you’re unsure, ( Name ).”
“No, no, it’s fine.” You quickly reassured your friend. “I just.. Didn’t realize it until you pointed it out.”
“So.. you do love him, do you?”
You stayed silent for a few seconds, unsure how to break it to him. “...He makes me feel things no one has made me feel for a long time.”
“…Does he make you happy?”
You nodded in response. “He makes me the happiest I can be.” He made me realize there’s always a chance, a chance to love. You thought.
Thoma hums in understanding. “I see. Then I hope you get something good from rhat.”
You smile gratefully. “Thank you. Though, I feel bad our conversation went this way, we were just laughing a few minutes ago.”
He quickly lets out a small laugh. “Oh it’s no problem. At least you found something you didn’t know, right?”
You nodded. “Yeah, thanks again, Thoma.”
“Anything for you, ( Name ).”
You decided to try and change the topic, clearing your throat. “Uh, anyways, wanna share Good Hunter’s newest dessert together?”
Thoma nods with a smile. “Fine, but you better not finish everything in one go.”
“Hey!”
It took perhaps another hour before you and Thoma decided to get the bill and get out of the restaurant. Unfortunately, your friend won’t be able to join you in going back inside Goth Grand Hotel once he drops you off, telling you how he has some things to do for Ayato and Chisato before they go off to their honeymoon destination.
As you enter the hotel lobby, you can’t help but think back about what happened during your brunch with Thoma. What will happen between you and Diluc now? Will you still act the same as before, aware that your feelings for him are possibly more than platonic?
While thinking, you didn’t notice someone behind you heading towards you until you felt them harshly gripping onto one of your shoulders.
You turn around, wondering who on Earth would be so rude to do such a thing, only for your eyes to widen when you realize who it is.
“Good afternoon, Mx. ( Last Name ).” Shinsuke greeted you with a smile that’s obviously fake. “I apologize for bothering you on this fine day,” A lie, “but I must request you to come with me somewhere more private.”
You hesitated for a moment, knowing the risk if you said yes. But even so, who’s to say what could happen if you turn down his request?
You look around the area, trying to look for someone who can notice your troubled situation and help you, only to unfortunately find no one around. If only you could’ve convinced Thoma to escort you back to your hotel room…
“...I suppose I could spare some time for a chat.” You said, trying to act calm.
You suddenly feel an eerie presence looming behind you, causing you to glance at your back and see a few bodyguards standing behind you – as if to prevent you from running away. Unlike the ones who were stationed for the wedding events, these particular guards were foreign, with strange but somewhat familiar symbols on their brooches. You could tell they’re not like the bodyguards you’ve seen.
“Perfect.” Shinsuke comments, and you start to regret accepting his offer. “Come with me.”
Without letting you reply at all, the man turns and starts walking, causing the bodyguards behind you to shove you in order for you to follow, leaving you no choice but to oblige.
On your way, you hoped that you would at least encounter one of your friends, frantically glancing around the hotel lobby looking for a familiar face. Unfortunately, you finally arrived at what you assume is a private room.
You’re going to be alone with Shinsuke and these scary bodyguards.
“Before we can go in, I have one more thing to request of you.” Shinsuke spoke up before he could open the door. “Take your bag away and give it to one of the guards.”
Your eyes widens, hesitantly looking at the bodyguards behind you, who all remain unfazed and emotionless. Slowly, you take out your bag from your body and pass it to one of the guards.
“Don’t worry, they won’t open your bag and look through your things if that’s what you’re worried about. We just need to make sure you won't try to... record anything and break our privacy.” Shinsuke said in a nice tone, as if that’s enough to reassure you in this situation. “Let’s go inside now.”
You feel fear crawling up on your spine as you enter the room, unsure of what’s going to happen to you.
The room is a conference room, with multiple chairs surrounding one long table as one of them is situated by the end of it; you assume that chair is where he’ll be seated.
“Go sit down here.” He says, pulling back a seat that’s right in the middle. “We have a few things to talk about, it won’t be long, don’t worry.”
Swallowing down the lump in your throat, you carefully went to where the seat is, trying to contain your frantic breathing in order to hide your fear. The bodyguards that were following you both are situated outside.
By the time you sit down is when Shinsuke starts talking, not sitting down on a chair. “Now that we’re in a more private area, let’s start talking, shall we?”
You nodded slowly. “..Is there a problem, Mr. Hiiragi?” You ask carefully.
He laughs, starting to walk slowly around you. “Straight to the point, I like that.” He comments. “Yes, there is a problem, Mx. ( Last Name ). I'm sure you remember our conversation yesterday.”
Your breath hitches; he proceeds to explain more. “You see, this wedding is a very precious event to the Hiiragi Clan. Everyone thinks the lovely couple is perfect like straight out of a fairytale, so I like to keep it that way.” You watch as he brushes one of the chairs as he walks by. Did he find out about you and Ayato?
“So when someone reported to me that they caught sight of you walking back inside the bachelor party venue together with the bride – who didn’t bother hiding the fact that she was crying – I have to make sure all’s well.” He adds.
His eyes then narrow. “I hope you understand where I’m coming from, and I fear that you might take the opportunity to taint the Hiiragi name and accuse that Chisato is unhappily married to Kamisato Ayato.”
You shook your head frantically. “N-No, I wouldn’t dare to do such a thing to my friends.”
“How should I know if you’re telling the truth? And before I knew it, the media would talk about how Chisato had unwillingly married the CEO of the Yashiro Company because of you and your schemes!”
“I am telling the truth, Mr. Hiiragi! I wish nothing but happiness for the couple.”
“As if that’s enough to do so.” He lets out a “tsk”, glaring down at you. “I have no choice but to get rid of you. Who knows when you will eventually risk tearing down my reputation!”
You gasp aloud, immediately standing up from your seat. “Get rid of me?! But Mr. Hiiragi, that’s too much! I haven’t done anything ever since the bachelor party happened–”
“You dare to raise your voice on me!? Did you forget your place, or shall I remind you?!” He exclaims. You panic when he suddenly storms towards you, his hand slowly raises up to hit you.
Suddenly, the door opens, causing the man to stop himself from hitting you and look at the intruder.
“Was I interrupting something?”
Your eyes brighten when you recognize the person’s voice, and you look at the intruder who’s standing by the doorway.
“O-Oh, Mr. Ragnvindr!” Shinsuke spoke, his tone is now nice and kind unlike a few seconds ago. “What a lovely surprise. I was just having a special meeting with Mx. ( Last Name ) regarding the wedding–”
“I’m here to talk about your pesky bodyguards who aren’t doing their job right” Diluc spoke, his voice dark and cold – a big comparison to his gentle tone when he talks to you. “I was just passing by when they suddenly confronted me and dared to lay a hand on me for no reason.”
You saw the way Shinsuke’s eyes widened, his eyebrows furrowing. “What?! How unprofessional of them! Where are they now?”
Diluc opens the door wide. “Feel free to go check on them. I had to defend myself since they tried to fight me. Had this happened to someone else, I fear an innocent person would get hurt by their recklessness.” He scolded Shinsuke, who hesitated from his offer to check on the bodyguards.
The elder man glances at you, causing you to freeze up from his glare. “This isn’t over yet.” He mouths before looking back at the red-haired man. “I apologize sincerely on behalf of my bodyguards. I’ll make sure it won’t happen ever again.”
“Good. Now leave.”
Begrudgingly, Shinsuke heads out from the conference room. By the time the CEO is out of your sight, Diluc looks in your direction.
You feel your shoulders starting to relax. “Diluc.”
His eyes softened. “( Name ).” He then gestures to you to come with him. “Come with me. Let’s get you out of here.”
When you come out of the conference room with Diluc being by your side, you’re surprised to see the sight of Shinsuke standing over the bodyguards on the ground, some groaning out in pain while some were out cold. Just what did Diluc do to them?
You dare not to question it, you’re just grateful that he saved you from Shinsuke.
As soon as you two are somewhere where most people don’t come to in the lobby, you let out a breath you didn’t know you’re holding.
“Are you alright?” Diluc asks worryingly, giving you your bag you didn’t know he was holding. “What happened back there?”
You slowly grab your bag from him, avoiding his gaze. “I… I don’t know.. He just took me to that room and threatened me for something that happened in the bachelor party. I wouldn’t dare to do that to my friends.” You clench your teeth at the audacity the cruel CEO has. “I’m just grateful you were able to come by before something happened. How did you know I was there?”
“I saw one of the guards holding your bag.” He answers honestly. “I recognized it was the one you were carrying when we were taking a stroll around the garden, so I had to investigate. Did they hurt you?”
You shook your head. “Mr. Hiiragi was about to, but you made it in time before he could hurt me.”
Diluc’s eyes slightly widened, before quickly narrowing his eyes at the thought that someone would dare to hurt you. “How dare he.. I knew he wasn’t good news.”
“It’s fine… None of us could’ve predicted he would do something like this.” You mumbled. It was technically a lie, you knew someone like Shinsuke would do this, but you didn’t want your friend to be worried and angry. “Thank you for your help, Diluc. I owe you a lot.”
“Anything for you.” He replied. He suddenly puts a hand on your shoulder in an attempt to comfort you, causing your heart to start beating fast while your cheeks begin to warm up from his words and gestures.  “You don’t owe me anything. Just… be more careful, I don’t want you to get hurt by someone as cruel and despicable as him.”
You nodded slowly, your mouth twitching upwards. “I’ll try.”
“Were you heading towards your room?” He asks, and you hum softly in response. “I could escort you back there if you’d like. Just in case Mr. Hiiragi dares to come to you again.”
You shook your head. “Oh I don’t want to bother you. I think I can go back on my own.”
“I insist. It would hurt me if something bad happens to you again when I could’ve helped you.” He insists. “Come.”
“...Thank you again, Diluc.” You spoke softly before the two of you started heading towards the elevator area that’s across the hotel lobby from where you are.
The two of you didn’t say a word to one another while you’re walking, but you didn’t mind. You were still shaken up by what happened. Who knows when Shinsuke will try to bother you again? What if he comes to Liyue and ruins your life?
“Will you be alright, ( Name )?” He suddenly asks, causing your worrisome thoughts to fade away from his voice.
Before you could say anything, someone suddenly called Diluc’s name.
“Diluc?”
You look around the area to look for the person who was calling your friend, spotting a woman standing not too far away from where you and Diluc are with her eyes brightening.
“There you are! I was looking around for you.” She spoke, walking towards you two with a smile on her face. “Did you just get out of the hotel room?”
You can’t help but admire the woman who’s now standing in front of you two. She’s quite beautiful, you admit. Is she perhaps a friend of Diluc? Or an acquaintance of his in the business world?
Or… Is she his plus one?
Diluc shakes his head. “No, I just happened to come across a friend of mine and got distracted. Did you wait for too long?”
The woman shakes her head as well, smiling reassuringly. “Ah no, don’t worry. I just entered the hotel.” She then looks at you. “Hello, what’s your name?” She asks you politely, causing your eyes to widen a bit in surprise.
“Oh uhm.. My name is ( Name ) ( Last Name ). It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ms…?”
“You can call me Jean. Thank you for keeping Diluc company while I was gone. I feel bad that I wasn’t able to attend the wedding.” Jean said.
Ah, so she is his plus one.
You try to ignore a strange feeling bubbling in your chest. “It’s no problem, I’m glad I’m friends with someone like Diluc. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot more about Mondstadt thanks to him.”
Jean giggles, a tune that’s so sweet in your ears. “I’m glad my fiancé made a friend. I hope I’ll get to know you more, ( Name ).”
You felt like your heart dropped when you heard what Jean called Diluc, your face almost fell.
Fiancé?
“...O-Oh, you guys are engaged?” You asked, stunned from your realization.
Jean instantly covers her mouth. “Oh, my bad.”
“It’s alright, Jean.” Diluc reassures her, you saw the way he looks at her. It’s different than the way he looks at you. “I was meaning to invite them to the wedding before they leave for Liyue.”
Jean sighs in relief, then looks at you with an apologetic smile. “I apologize for the shock. But yes, me and Diluc are set to be married in December. We haven’t announced our engagement to the public yet so we’d appreciate it if you could keep it a secret until it’s announced. I’ll make sure to give you an invitation tomorrow if that’s fine with you!”
You felt sick, swallowing the sour taste of heartbreak in your throat. “Of course! I’m honored I’m invited to your wedding. Congratulations on your engagement.”
You’re too caught up with the sudden news that you didn’t notice the way Diluc looks at you in concern.
Jean didn’t notice either, still smiling happily. “Great, I hope we’ll talk again next time. I’m afraid Diluc and I have to go now to meet Mr. and Mrs. Kamisato before they leave. I hope you’ll enjoy your stay in Mondstadt until you leave! Shall we, Diluc?”
The red-haired man hesitantly looks at you, and you remembered how he was supposed to escort you. You feel selfish for wanting him to go with you, but you knew your place.
“Go.” You mouth to Diluc with a reassuringly small smile, despite your heart wanting him to stay. “I’ll see you two next time. It’s nice to meet you as well, Jean.”
“...See you next time, ( Name ).” Diluc spoke up before walking towards Jean.
Without another word, you turn away and walk back to where you’re supposed to be going. Away from Shinsuke, from your heartbreak,
And away from Diluc. Your first love for the first time in 4 years.
You tried your best to hold onto your facade that everything’s normal and okay as you’re on your way back to the hotel room rushedly, your heart racing and lips shaking from what just happened.
You aren’t sure if you were overwhelmed by what happened between you and Shinsuke, or from the unrequited love between you and Diluc.
You should’ve known he wouldn’t be single. You should’ve known he was taken by someone as beautiful and amazing as Jean. You should’ve remained oblivious to your feelings towards him,
You should’ve known he would never see you that way.
By the time you enter the room and close the door behind you, you knelt down on the ground and let out a sob, dropping your bag as you cover your face with your hands.
Fuck, fuck, fuck!
Everything hurts. Everything is too much. You feel like you’re being burned inside as your heart aches deeply. You feel like you want to jump off a cliff and land in an ocean, never to be seen again. Why did you had to find out you’re in love when you found out your love is unrequited? Why is this happening to you? What did you do in your past life to deserve such cruelty?
You were so busy crying that you didn’t notice Zhongli walking towards you in concern. Words didn’t exchange between you two, but your friend knew what to do. He always comforts you whenever you cry about Ayato after drinking too much back then, reassuring you that you’ll eventually move on someday.
He kneels down beside you, wrapping an arm around your shoulder comfortingly. You didn’t hesitate to lean your head on his shoulder as a result, continuing to let out your wails and tears.
“I fell in love, but he… He belongs to another. Why does this always happen to me?” You sobbed.
Zhongli slowly pulls you closer to him. “I do not know.”
You let out another sob, closing your eyes shut. “It hurts.”
He closes his eyes as well, his heart aches at the sound of your cries. “I know.”
That day, you didn’t look at your phone anymore to see if he sent you a message. Spending the rest of your time engulfed in heartbreak as your dearest friend comforts you.
Just when you thought you were willing to fall in love, that chance was once again out of your reach.
It’s true he made you realize there’s always a chance, a chance to love.
Just not a chance to love him.
Somewhere by the hotel’s parking lot, someone is going through the same thing as you.
Thoma leans against the steering wheel of his car, exhaling deeply as he closes his eyes.
He knew he’d never have the chance to win your heart, yet it still hurts to think that you’re now in love with someone else. Don’t get him wrong, he’s truly happy for you — especially knowing that you have never bothered trying to give love a chance again and never had a date with anyone since the break up.
He just wished it was him you had fallen in love with, even though it sounds as impossible as going to outer space in this life.
But nevertheless, it wasn’t the fact that his love for you stayed strong and you still see him as just a friend—
It was the fact that you’re in love with a man who’s out of your reach.
Thoma didn’t know what to think when he learned you love Diluc. He wanted to be happy for you — he knows the man has a good heart after hearing so many good things about him — but he knew you’re going to be heartbroken when you learned about his secret engagement with one of the most powerful and well-respected women in Mondstadt.
There’s nothing he can do about it. He can only hope you’d get through the same pain you felt back then.
Thoma lets out a sigh, leaning back up from the steering wheel.
Even if he cannot provide it, the blonde-haired man just wished that someday, you’d love someone who loves you too, with nothing that can stop you both,
Unlike the men you fell in love with.

Diluc Ragnvindr is…
no gender of reader mentioned. general headcanons
Tumblr media
Diluc Ragnvindr is terrified to hurt anyone and he’s terrified to love and because he’s so scared he’s soft and gentle until he gets that reassurance of “its “okay” and “you won’t hurt me” and “I trust you”
Diluc Ragnvindr is nothing but soft smiles and longing looks when you’re not watching and staying incredibly still in the garden and calling you over because a butterfly landed near him and pretending like he doesn’t love the stray dog that likes to visit the tavern (that he 1000% doesn’t leave food and water out for and doesn’t let inside on particularly hot days)
And Diluc Ragnvindr is little cocky smiles once he’s comfortable with you and catches you admiring him because “take a picture it’ll last longer” “damn you and your fancy kamera” and stupid inside jokes and randomly flirting w him when he’s working at the angel’s share like he’s not your boyfriend of several years and him flirting back because he knows you have fun with it
and Diluc Ragnvindr is warm cocoa late at night and long hugs and dancing to no music and basking in the warmth of the open curtains in the morning and little mumbles of “five more minutes” and making fun of his bed head and the the little scruffle on his cheeks because he hasn’t shaved since the night before last and giggling when he tickles you with it and more long hugs and unsaid “I love you”s that he wishes he said more
And Diluc Ragnvindr is nothing but devoted and loyal and he would single handedly bring celestia to its knees if you asked because you’ve never made him feel so safe
Diluc Ragnvindr is beautiful in every sense of the word
Tumblr media
I pulled Diluc and I’m having thoughts. Anyway I formatted this while I was sick my apologies. Koi you’re welcome I posted it

hi lovely!! congrats on your followers that is so wonderful 🥲
for your event could I request an action prompt from list 4, “[SOOTHE] - for sender to comfort receiver’s muse while they’re having a nightmare, trying to keep receiver asleep.” With Zhongli or maybe Kaeya and Diluc if you’re up to write multiple? preferably gn!reader being the one having the nightmare with Zhongli or whoever comforting them. thank you!! :) 💕
“SOOTHING WORDS FOR YOU”
[ masterlist ] [ event ] [ reblogs are very appreciated ]
hurt/comfort, romantic relationship, zhongli, kaeya alberich, diluc ragnvindr (separately) x gn!reader
warning(s) : IMPLIED SPOILERS FOR DILUC’S STORY QUEST (in diluc’s), night terrors, slight angst at the beginning for diluc’s (i’m sorry i swear i love him), pet names (love/dear) are used in kaeya’s and diluc’s !, not proofread
word count : 1449 words
plot : “your boyfriend discovers you’re having a night terror — how does he comfort you without waking you up?”
a/n : i’m incredibly sorry for the long wait </3 this has been a tough year. anyway, i’ve done some research: nightmares are bad dreams that make you wake up; night terrors are moments where a person shouts/moves/violently act while sleeping! these moments tipically last from a few seconds to around 3 minutes, but sometimes the time could be longer. so in this fic, it’s about night terrors because it think they fit better :) <3.

ZHONGLI
although he wasn’t someone who needed a substantial amount of sleep, the consultant of the wangsheng funeral parlor sometimes decided to rest at night and immerse himself in what the life of mortals seemed to be like. it was a moment of peacefulness when one’s mind could rest from the workload of the day and wait for tomorrow to begin — something that beings like him weren’t entirely used to.
memories of the past were a common occurence in the mind of someone as knowledgeable and experienced as zhongli. while you were asleep beside him, he quietly thought about his bygone encounters and things that he had witnessed during the years of his life. he looked back at those times, savouring both the wonderful and the unhappy, past matters.
it was one of those nights — though the brown-haired man was lost in his thoughts, he glanced at your resting figure every now and then, quietly admiring you.
as he was wondering whether he should have prepared a cup of tea for himself or not before joining you in morpheus’ embrace, a scream diverted his attention from his mind to you: you were sat up in your shared bed and you looked frightened; your breath was heavy, too heavy, and you seemed to be staring wide-eyed at something in front of you, forcefully kicking your feet.
zhongli stopped himself from talking to you, supposing that it would have been better to slightly move and see your eyes — as he was expecting, your pupils were dilated, your gaze wasn’t focused on anything in particular.
he had seen many people going though these episodes and he had observed how people dealt with situations like this one. he still was worried about you, but he couldn’t let himself be distracted by uncertainty and concern when there was the risk that you could have accidentally hurt him or even yourself.
“i’m by your side in this moment, [name], and there’s no one else here with us. you’re completely safe” he slowly said, his calm voice was echoing in the room.
your sweat was becoming more visible while you still kept moving, however it was without the same energy as before.
your partner took a deep breath. “you’re going to be fine, [name], trust my words. nothing can hurt you now — danger isn’t coming your way. you can rest”.
he carefully watched how you returned to lay down on the mattress, closing your eyes again and sleeping in a serene way.
after waiting for a few minutes to make sure you weren’t going to shift position, he followed your example and rested in silence.
zhongli would have confronted you about it the next morning, asking if you were aware of it and if it had something to do with stress or another condition.
but, before that moment, he would have been there with you as long as you needed it.

KAEYA
as the cavalry captain of the knights of favonius, kaeya had to be always hyper vigilant of his surroundings: there was the possibility to be caught off guard at all times, either by enemies of different nature or passerby who desired to tell him something. he had become rather perceptive thanks to many factors — and it was handy when it came to missions or other troubles.
however he did not expect to feel you vigorously kick his leg while he was sleeping.
his eyes widened and he sat down quickly, blocking your arm — which was about to punch his stomach — right in time. he softly sighed, wondering what was occurring but, unfortunately for him, his action only worsened the current situation as you began to be slightly more aggressive.
before letting go of your wrist kaeya mentally noted your racing pulse and then he distanced himself from you, even though it was quite difficult to do so without leaving the bed. “[name], i’m here with you. what’s the matter?”.
‘have they had a nightmare?’, your boyfriend asked to himself, pondering what he should have done to help you feel better.
the answer didn’t wait to be known: you were having difficulty with breathing and generally you appeared… frightened. although the only light source was the street lamp not too far from the window of the bedroom, it wasn’t a problem for him to see and sense your agitation.
after briefly analyzing your movements, it didn’t take him long to understand that you weren’t awake.
kaeya was way too familiar with those episodes: they could happen for various reasons — from anxiety to sleep deprivation, from fever to other conditions; they were a common occurrence during his childhood and they still remained in his adulthood. although now they happened rarely (in his case), he had gotten used to them year after year.
“we’re in this together, love” he softly spoke, enunciating every word in a calm tone. “you’re not alone; i’m right here by your side, you aren’t fighting an enemy”.
your body gradually relaxed and you seemed to breathe comfortably again. so, he slowly lay down on the bed next to you, observing your body from time to time to undestand if you were going to do anything abruptly or not.
“you’re doing fine, [name]. you can stay here, nobody is going to harm you. what do you say if we sleep, mh? it sounds like a pretty good idea to me”.
kaeya smiled to himself as you mumbled something in your sleep and completely calmed down.
“i care very deeply about you. you can be certain of it”.

DILUC
the owner of dawn winery faintly sighed as he entered his mansion; he felt quite worn out from the long evening since he had relentlessly fought several monsters, which had ventured too near mondstadt, as he did also on the previous days. it was his duty, an obligation he had imposed on himself: protection was needed at all times when peril was everywhere, particularly around the most vulnerable hours of the night. otherwise, what would have happened if there weren’t someone who watched over the city of the wind even in those moments?
cold water hit his pale skin as diluc took a shower to relieve the pain of his aching body. exhaustion persisted for some time, but eventually it let him go and he felt more comfortable.
he had just put his nightclothes on when he felt the crack of something break. was someone trying to steal from his house? did you leave the window open and a gust of wind had made something fall from the nightstand? there were many possibilities and a wave of panic suddenly overwhelmed him, clouding his judgement.
fortunately, since the room he was in was fairly close to your shared bedroom, it didn’t take him long to rush over and see what was taking place.
a lamp had been shattered on the floor, it was broken in small pieces of glass; your arm was still and bent over where once the nightlight stood and your hand continuously punched the air; you seemed troubled by something, but your eyes were devoid of any emotion, making it difficult to discern your state of mind.
did you suddenly wake up because he made too much noise by coming back to the mansion?
diluc proceeded to get near your figure, slowly collecting the broken glass with one of his handkerchief: it was already quite late and, given the circumstances, he decided not to call his servants. “my love, it’s me. i didn’t mean to disturb your sleep, i’ll be more careful in the future; however, i’d like to know if you’re hurt by any chance” he gently questioned, scanning over your body to see any signs of injuries.
you were unresponsive, staring aimlessly at the bedspread. nevertheless, you were breathing heavily; it indicated that your body was having a hard time to get oxygen, as if you were stressed about something but also… tired.
he put the broken lamp away, his exceptional stealth helped him not to make a sound. “do you hear me, dear?” he asked, without expecting an answer now that he had a general idea of the situation.
he sat down on his side of the bed, looking at you: your body had stopped moving, but you still seemed upset by something.
“there’s nothing to be afraid of here — i’ve returned home. you’re unscathed and so am i; we can slumber now”.
it took a while to make you sleep, but in the end your body gave in and you tranquilly resumed your rest.
diluc did the same soon enough, delicately hugging your figure and resting his face near yours.
“we’re completely safe”.

warnings – tw: mentions of reader not eating dinner in the past. reader is gn but has long hair. characters – diluc x gn!reader. genre – romantic fluff. a/n – | please reblog (with comments and tags) and consider giving me a follow!! it rly helps :>
Tumblr media
imagine coming back home from a day of battling and protecting mondstadt. tiredly trekking your way back to the winery, the same endless rows of vines entering and leaving your sight.
“diluc, i’m home.” you whispered tiredly, looking at your husband in bed. diluc was nursing a cup of tea and thumbing through his book quietly, looking up at you once he heard your voice. he stood up and opened his arms, letting you sink into his chest like an anchor with the sea.
"love, are you alright?" he calmed, his voice hushed and quiet. it wasn't the most comforting of quiets – although he tried to be – but diluc couldn't let the feelings of protection over you fall apart so quickly. it was a level type of quiet, one that made you feel like it could go either way, but it always was the one that you liked.
"i'm fine. the mitachurls put up a good fight tonight." you answered, a slight smile adorning your weary face. diluc set down his read and took your hand in his, turning it over and over to inspect for any signs of cuts and bruises. you let him do his thing.
"well, you're a lot less unscathed than the previous week. i've had adelinde set aside a portion of dinner for you, if you're hungry after all that." you were. diluc led you to the bathroom, your feet cooled by the pink and green tile.
he started to gather your hair, running his fingers through your locks. experienced fingers combed through your hair, removing any tangles that happened throughout the day.
the bathroom was cozy – a memory of when you first moved into the ragnvindr mansion. you sat down with your husband to discuss how the bathroom should look like, what accents, what colours, what tiles – and you eventually settled on a lovely pink and green set that even diluc came to love. it was a nightly routine for him to help you dry your hair and brush it, or brush your teeth in front of the mirror together, or help him put on one of those skincare facial masks that he disliked but did it anyways because you loved it so much.
adelinde soon called the two of you down for dinner, breaking the soft silence that the you shared.
"sit with me, love." diluc pulled back the chair next to his, inviting you to sit. dinnertime was always an anticipated affair, with the resolve-wavering smell of adelinde's cooking breaking your habit of not eating dinner when you were alone. it was too much trouble.
but with adelinde, sometimes it was sausages and mash, or a simple curry served with rice or bread, or a hearty crab, ham and veggie bake. once, adelinde served steak and you prayed every night that you'd get to taste that steak again.
dinner was quiet and comforting, the sound of silverware clinking against stark white plates stained with gravy. as wonderful a cook as diluc was, you'd have to admit that adelinde's cooking was always to die for.
"i'm going back upstairs to freshen up before bed, alright?" you kissed diluc's temple, him grabbing your hand before replying that he was done too.
once the both of you were dressed and ready to crash, you moved closer to him such that your head was sitting in the crook of diluc's neck. he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead.
"goodnight, sweetheart," he whispered, the stress of his day breathing away as he allowed himself to sigh contentedly occasionally, soaking in the comforting moment.
goodnight, diluc.

wine is awful, but the taste of you isn’t
characters: diluc x gn!reader
warnings: getting cavities from how fluffy this is
a/n: this is for the diluc kissers 📢📢 no but this is originally my work from ao3 from a few months ago but now i kinda hate him FOR NOT LETTING ME HAVE MONA 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Tumblr media
diluc ragnivindr. a reserved, well-mannered man. proclaimed as “the uncrowned king of mondstadt” by day, and “the darknight hero” by night. but when you came into significance in his life, you only knew him as the man you love.
when he comes home after all the rude customers and the abyss mages that got in the way, he expects you to be asleep. after all, its completely dark outside, and he wouldn’t mind if you got tired after your long day of commissions as well. but when he opens the door to both of your room, he sees you reading. he takes in all of your features, the way your hands hold the book like a treasure. how your eyes snaps up to him, and how you whisper “welcome home” with the softest of smiles. and in that moment, he falls in love again.
you put your book to the side, placing a small bookmark in. you get up and walk towards him, stopping right in front of him to bump your forehead into his. he opened his mouth to say something, but you were quicker, and clever too. “long day?”, you asked. he nodded, always surprised at how you saw right through him in the blink of an eye. his surprised expression made you burst into a small fit of laughter, and he falls in love again.
he takes off every unnecessary layer of clothing as you speak about your day, and puts on a t-shirt and sweatpants. the way your eyes look at his figure makes him feel like the only man alive. he couldn’t help relishing the way you spoke to him, even if it was about fighting hilichurls and ruin guards. you both set into bed while fatigue lurks over you. and as you rest your head on the pillow and twirl your finger around his flaming red hair, he falls in love again.
he kisses you so gently, with such tenderness ghosting your lips you’d drown in the taste of it. they way his lips fit against yours warms your heart without the help of his pyro vision. when he pulls back, he takes one look at you, not wasting a second to connect them back. diluc ragnvindr, the man behind the mondstadt wine industry, hates alcohol. but, if he were to make a exclusive drink from the taste of you?
he would be drunk for however long you give him the taste for.

how genshin men hug you
various genshin men x gn! reader
characters: Alhaitham, Diluc, Itto, Neuvillette, Wriothesley
Alhaitham isn’t one for hugs, but he’s not against you snuggling into him as he reads, seated between his legs. You might have to ask him several times for a hug, and more often than not, you’ll be met with a ‘no’. However, on those rare occasions when he’s feeling tired and lazy, he might just pull you into a hug as he lounges around. If you try to talk while he’s resting his head on yours, he’ll shush you, not wanting his break to be disturbed. So, with Alhaitham, it’s less about the hugs and more about quiet, shared moments.
Diluc is a man of few words, but his hugs speak volumes. He may be reserved, even in private, but he won’t hesitate to give you a hug if you ask. He might not initiate them often, but he does enjoy these moments of closeness with you. His hugs are warm and comforting, making you feel safe and cherished. They might not last long, but they’re always memorable. If you were to hug him when he returns from defending Mondstadt in the middle of the night, he would welcome you into his side. He’d wrap an arm around you gently, allowing you to listen to his steady heartbeat, a reassuring reminder that he’s returned safely.
Itto is a true enthusiast when it comes to hugs. He’s the kind of person who will envelop you in a warm, enthusiastic embrace, regardless of where you are. Public or private, it doesn’t matter to him. His hugs are playful and full of energy. He’ll lift you off the ground, spinning you around in a whirl of joy. Especially after a rare victory in a Beetle Brawl, you can expect a celebratory hug from him. His hugs are innocent and endearing, often accompanied by a wide grin and exuberant cheers of happiness. It’s clear that Itto enjoys these moments of shared joy just as much as you do. His hugs are not just an expression of affection, but a testament to his vibrant and joyful spirit.
Neuvillette is a man who is reserved and formal, and he’s not familiar with the concept of a hug, even though he’s seen them during his time in Fontaine. The first time you hug him, it might be a bit awkward until he gets used to the close contact. Every time Neuvillette hugs you, it’s gentle and cautious, as if he’s still trying to figure out the correct way to do it. He doesn’t often ask for hugs, but when it starts to rain, that’s your sign that he could use one. His hugs can be unusually long because he doesn’t understand the socially acceptable duration for a hug, and you don’t want to correct him. Alternatively, they can be short but meaningful. If he’s feeling down, he might hold on a bit longer, and of course, you’re perfectly fine with that.
Wriothesley is a man who cherishes private moments of closeness. He’s the type to give you a full-body hug, much like the comforting embrace of a teddy bear. If he happens to retire to bed before you, he might fall asleep on top of you, his arms wrapped around your waist. More often than not, you’ll already be asleep when he comes to bed. In these instances, he’ll spoon you into his arms, providing a sense of security and warmth. While he may not be one for overt public displays of affection, when it’s just the two of you, he’s all about the hugs. You might often find yourself sitting in his lap as he reads the newspaper, one arm casually draped over your stomach, his head resting on your shoulder. It seems that Wriothesley has a particular fondness for your body heat, especially in the chilly depths of Meropide.

♡ ゚˖ ॱ ▎HOW DO THEY MEET AND FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU .ㅤPT 1ㅤ𝅄 🌿 ꒱
˖ ࣪ diluc, wriothesley

Tumblr media Tumblr media
ㅤThe way you both met was still quite a sore spot for you to talk about. Not because it was in a bad way, of course, it was just a little bit embarrassing, to you at least.
ㅤYou, a new person in Mondstadt, just having moved recently to the City of Freedom, felt like the customs should be learned. And what better costume the people of Mondstadt had than dancing?
ㅤAt least that was what the bard in the tavern told you, as he gathered everyone around together for some dance practice classes.
ㅤLike he said, "there was nothing better than learning together with your friends".
ㅤThe only thing he seemed to have forgotten is the crucial fact that you didn't have any friends yet.
ㅤAt the end of the selection, you were by yourself, completely embarrassed to not have managed to find a partner yet.
ㅤThe bard instead quickly said he had forgotten about you and decided to partner you up with someone himself, stopping you from leaving the place altogether to hide in your house for the next week.
ㅤAnd it just so happened that at the same time, Diluc Ragnvindr, as you knew him, passed by. His red locks of hair swaying in the wind.
ㅤAnd in a second, somehow the bard had managed to drag the man out of his duties to your side, a boyish smirk on his lips. Diluc seemed to be complaining that he had no intention of being part of the event whatsoever, but unfortunately for him, he had no choice in the matter.
ㅤHis murderous glances towards the bard dressed in green did not pass unnoticed by your eyes but you couldn't say anything before that ruby gaze turned to you.
ㅤDespite feeling completely speechless before the man you so heard of, all you could think was how you've never seen such beautiful eyes before.
ㅤIt took a while to notice that he was also staring quietly at you. Just you both, standing awkwardly by each other's side with shy shared glances here and there.
ㅤBut as the bard started the dance practice, every partner having their own fun. Friends, lovers and strangers gathered around under the same music and happiness, the tension between you both finally eased a tad bit, just enough.
ㅤ"Well, since we're already here. Care to share this dance with me, master Diluc?"
ㅤYou asked, a grin dancing in your lips, as you extended one of your hands to him.
ㅤAnd contrary to all of your expectations, having heard only rumors about him, the man they called ruthless and cold, grinned back at you. It was just for a few seconds, but it was more than enough to steal your breath away.
ㅤ"I suppose we could try, yes." And you thought you caught some sort of quiet confidence in his tone. Like he had practiced years for this.
ㅤWell, dancing was never your forte but it was probably not that hard to learn in a few seconds, right?
ㅤThat was what you thought before the missteps started to happen, of course.
ㅤ"Do not mind me." He said, but you felt desperate each time he winced as you stepped on his feet in the middle of a dance step.
ㅤAnd you found yourself admiring him for how well and flawlessly he sometimes managed to dodge your fumbled steps. His composure never wavering as he kept guiding you through a steady dance.
ㅤYou felt like Diluc could as well be your savior. The savior to your already nonexistent reputation that is.
ㅤEven if you stepped on his feet one too many times, instead of being annoyed as he would have been were it anyone else, Diluc found it endearing.
ㅤHe had to lean over you so that you wouldn't see his own small smile as you fretted over him, asking if his feet hurt. It did, but there's no need to mention that.
ㅤAt the end of the dance, Diluc had held your hands one second longer than he should have, and you also didn't feel like ending this so quickly.
ㅤSo you called out for him.
ㅤ"Let's meet again. I think I still don't get this dance."
ㅤAnd he smiled. You had no idea if this was a good or bad thing for your poor heart.
ㅤEveryone knows that fire burns fast and ruthlessly, taking away what it needs before disappearing with the break of dawn. But Diluc's love was the opposite.
ㅤIt was slow, hesitant. Carefully blooming like a fragile Small Lamp Grass in the soft glow of first-time affection. Diluc carried these emotions like a delicate dance of vulnerability and anticipation.
ㅤLike a steady flame, casting a warm glow over the tapestry of you both interwoven destinies.
ㅤThe touch of hands became a silent agreement, a subtle acknowledgment of emotions too profound to articulate. In the gentle ebb and flow of your interactions, a slow crescendo of emotions built, resonating with the innocence of a love untouched by the scars of the past.
ㅤYou both were so oblivious, despite the greetings that turned to hugs that lasted longer each time and the shared glances at each other's eyes for a moment too long. Small things that all seemed to notice but the both of you.
ㅤSo much so, that even Venti, the bard you've grown to know and whose presence was always within the vicinity, one day commented that you should invite him to your wedding next time, and immediately in the next second he was kicked out of the tavern.
ㅤDiluc felt himself slowly learning about the intricate nuances of what love was. Of what it could be.
ㅤYou taught him that love didn't always end on a rainy day, and that your blood would never stain his hands.
ㅤHe grew under your touch, with a newfound confidence of a love well nurtured slowly with the pass of time.
ㅤEven if you stepped on his feet a million times and by the end of this dance you both called love his feet felt beyond salvation, Diluc still knew that his love for you would never waver.
ㅤAnd he would keep teaching you just as much as you do for him, so that one day, when the dawn comes and you're both by the kitchen, quietly sharing smiles and your bodies are once again intertwined in an unfaltering dance, in a time where none of you have to worry about duties anymore, you won't step on him again.
ㅤAs the warm morning dew cast its light over the shared rings on your hands, Diluc didn't want to believe in gods, but he still had to thank Barbatos for bringing you to him on that day. With all your giggles and bright eyed smiles.
ㅤYou were his savior and his redemption, just as much as he was yours.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ㅤWriothesley, the so famously known Duke of the Fortress of Meropide and also your worst declared enemy.
ㅤYour friends would always tell you that it was an exaggeration, that it wasn't that bad. You both seemed to actually work very well together. But you begged to differ from their opinions.
ㅤYou are the secretary in the Palais Mermonia, working directly under orders of the Judge, Monsieur Neuvillette himself. A quite noble position if you were to say so yourself, in fact.
ㅤBut Wriothesley seemed to somehow doubt your high position as he kept asking you to simply do favors for him, taking advantage of the fact that he was 'close friends' with the Iudex.
ㅤYou dreaded each time Monsieur Neuvillette asked you to bring some documents over from the Fortress, meaning you would have to talk with the Duke too.
ㅤAnd you knew, each time you went there, that man had something in store for you. Just like the first time you both met.
ㅤ"You must be the secretary, right? Can you do me a favor then, and bring me a cup of tea?"
ㅤHe had said back then, and there was nothing more you wished than to wipe that wolfish grin from his lips with your own two hands.
ㅤHe seemed to get off on the exact fact that you would snap at him and get angry, like he reveled in your disappointed expressions and bitter stares.
ㅤAnd it seemed that each time you visited, no matter how much you refused — and perhaps that was the exact reason the man decided to try even more— the requests became more and more unusual.
ㅤ"Let me take you out on dinner."
ㅤYou didn't even know how he could be so shameless while asking this, but you still blatantly refused his approaches each time with fierceness.
ㅤAnd you told yourself each time, oh how you hated him.
ㅤInstead, all you didn't know was that Wriothesley thought of you the exact opposite of what you imagined.
ㅤSince the first time the Duke saw you, your tight and serious expression and the bags under your eyes, he had decided that he needed to see you smile at least once, no matter what.
ㅤThat's why he kept sending multiple letters to Neuvillette, practically begging the Iudex to send you once more, telling him of how much of a good work you did unlike all the other secretaries and how he still had forgotten to send him just one more document.
ㅤAll lies of course, but you can't blame a man for trying at least a bit.
ㅤHe had been enamored by you since the first time you walked in his office. The tenacity and unyielding confidence in your steps and speech.
ㅤWriothesley, and perhaps you, hadn't even realized how intertwined you two were, being part of each other's daily lives.
ㅤHadn't even realized how, slowly and steadily, something new was being shaped.
ㅤWith each sharp gaze of yours that made Wriothesley's heart skip a beat, and each argument that would slowly turn into a playful banter that had you almost lose your facade of sternness and harshness, you both were becoming soft for each other.
ㅤUntil one day, you went to visit him yourself, outside of the duties you held so passionately to yourself.
ㅤYou were also surprised at how easy the path was, and how earnest your steps had become after all these months of endless back and forth.
ㅤBut nothing could top the astonished and dumbfounded look that the Duke of Meropide himself had given you when you entered his office, not wearing your usual confident expression and work clothes.
ㅤ"Are… you free right now?"
ㅤYou had asked him, your fingers trembling behind your back, hating how shy your voice sounded for some reason.
ㅤAgainst your expectations, as always, Wriothesley found a way to surprise you. He recovered quickly from the awed state, promptly getting up from his chair at once and making his way to you, a reassuring smile on his face.
ㅤHe had never looked so happy ever since you met him.
ㅤ"For you? Always."
ㅤSo the both of you left the cold office with warmness in your hearts. Together, side by side.
ㅤHe even gave a try to holding your hand once before you slapped it away.
ㅤWell… small, baby steps, he supposed.
ㅤAnd Wriothesley decided that it was always worth it to have to spend the entire night finishing the documents due tomorrow if it meant having you for the entire day.

cupid’s chokehold
Tumblr media
pairing/s: cyno, diluc, scaramouche x gn!reader
summary: it’s simple, really. one moment you’re laughing, the light of the sun brightening your features, and the next his heart is beating out of his chest, face warm and breaths short, an almost pleasant twist to his gut when you lean close. you look at him with fondness dancing in your eyes, and he realizes, oh, he might just be in love. or — the moment they find out they love you.
note: this is really just an excuse to write diluc being whipped, also this was supposed to include childe heizou and xiao but i lost motivation so here ya go!
Tumblr media
CYNO
He finds it hard to believe that you’d be so incapable of writing a simple essay. You once admitted to him how you only got accepted into the Akademiya through sheer luck, but he didn’t believe it then. The Akademiya is known for its strict rules and thorough examination of every student it takes on.
But seeing you struggling not to plagiarize an essay is truly pushing his patience. He’s not one to snap or bark out harsh words to those undeserving of it — and he can think of no one more undeserving of his wrath than you — but it is frustrating to watch you stumble even at the easiest of assignments.
“I think I’ve got it! Oh, I made a little mistake on the spelling there, but this is the one that’ll blow my professors away! Cyno, can you proofread this for me?”
He’ll tell you later that he didn’t mean it, and you’ll accept it without hesitation with an accepting smile — but right now, the searing sun made worse by the humid weather makes a short fuse even for the most patient of saints.
“If you can’t do something so simple, then I see no point in partaking in this fruitless endeavor. The Akademiya is harsh and has no room for error, you would be better off leaving than continue struggling futilely.”
He didn’t mean to come off so harsh, as if he’s belittling all your hard work and effort and telling you that you don’t belong in the Akademiya. But the damage has been done, and your hopeful look turns into shock at his outburst, retreating into yourself and quickly retracting the paper you’d been in the middle of handing out to him. Your face closes off, clutching your essay close to your chest and darting your eyes anywhere but his general direction.
“Sorry,” you say, awkward and fumbling, resolutely not meeting his eyes, “For being annoying, among other things.” Then, you rise to your feet abruptly. He can see the way your fingers are clenched tightly at your paper, tight enough to wrinkle the edges such that he knows you’ll regret later for ruining yet another paper. “I won’t bother you again.”
Your voice is uncharacteristically quiet, almost sounding choked off. You turn and give him a brief glimpse of your face, and he realizes that you’re on the verge of tears.
He catches your arm just before you can take a step forward. “Wait.”
You freeze, muscles tensing beneath his touch. He instantly releases you after he feels how uncomfortable it must have made you. The silence between you is so tangible he can almost see it permeating the air, cloying and thick and utterly unwelcome.
He parts his mouth a few times, going through every possible scenario where he says the wrong thing that pushes you to the edge and makes you hate him forever. The mere thought is enough to steal him of his breath. No, he can’t have that, can’t bear the thought of a world where you aren’t there greeting him brightly in the morning and being so shameless as you fall into step beside him despite his rank and engage him in idle chitchat. He doesn’t think he’s ever told you before, but he looks forward to that part of his day the most.
After what seems like eons of standing in silence, he finally speaks. But what comes out of his mouth isn’t the apology he rehearsed in his head.
“Why did the bike fall over?”
You turn to him with an almost incredulous look, eyes wide with unshed tears that he berates himself for. Then, hesitantly, you ask, “…Why?”
The response comes naturally to him, years of reading through his notes and making them himself has all but ingrained such information in his mind.
“Because it was two tired,” he delivers this with a straight face, tone flat and completely at odds with the nature of his joke.
You stare at him for a moment, lips parted in surprise at the sudden joke. He sees your grip on your paper loosen, shoulders relaxing, mouth twisting into something he can’t quite discern, and then—
“Pft.” It starts out small, quiet as you bring a hand to cover your mouth, before it dissolves into a full blown laugh, the kind that has your shoulders shaking and eyes closed, head tilted back and the sound of your laughter filling his ears. He’s never considered that laughs could produce such pleasant sounds, so it comes as a surprise when yours makes something in him want to lean forward to hear more. Or perhaps it’s just you.
The light from the sun bounces off your skin, making your expression all the more radiant.
And Cyno? Cyno doesn’t think he’s ever seen such a mesmerizing sight before.
You’ve never laughed at his jokes, or rather, he’s never seen fit to tell you any of them, seeing as you’ve always been so at ease around him that telling a joke was never necessary. He’ll have to rectify that, he thinks, watching the way your mouth curves up in a smile, eyes dancing with mirth as you finally meet his eyes.
And he’s suddenly struck by the thought of how much he likes seeing you like this — hair mussed from the wind, exhilaration lining your lips, breaths short from laughing too hard, and gazing at him in delight.
And maybe he’s overthinking things too much, maybe the pounding of his heart and the sudden intake of breath is a result of something else, but he wants to believe it’s because of you.
Later, he’ll come up with a proper apology, something a little less joking and a little more serious. But right now, you’re looking at him like he’s the only person in the world, and that’s all that matters.
Tumblr media
DILUC
The sun is particularly hot today, bordering on sweltering, but still, you insist on accompanying him in this menial task of picking grapes.
Diluc has always preferred solitude since he came of age, doing things alone and being lost in his thoughts have become things that he finds strangely pleasant, almost calming. But you’ve never been one to settle in silence, always needing to voice your thoughts and fill the room with chatter about all sorts of topics. It’s something he should dislike, all things considered due to his preference for quietness, but you, he finds, have always been an exception to what he considers the norm.
He wonders why.
“And just then, a hilichurl comes out of nowhere and starts throwing rocks at me — rocks! They have crossbows and shields and those battering things, but that one chose to use rocks to attack me! It’s like he thought I wasn’t even worth the effort!”
He idly plucks a group of ripe grapes from a vine, listening to you retell your encounter with a hilichurl that led to you discovering its camp that held a precious chest, only to open it and find nothing but cabbages. You bemoan how it was a total waste of effort, all that fighting just for a few pieces of vegetables you don’t even like.
A small, amused smile flits its way into his lips. It doesn’t escape your notice.
“So you think my suffering is funny, huh?” You narrow your eyes at him.
He turns away and briefly considers the merits of admitting to smiling, not at your plight, but at the various inflections in your tone as you regaled him with your story and the little laughs you let out when you got to a funny part and the way you looked at him with a smile so wide it crinkled the corners of your eyes, reflecting the light from the sun in its near-blinding intensity.
When he turns back to face you, he’s met with fingers on his lips and something small and round being pushed into his mouth. His teeth bites down into it, tender and sweet. A grape, he realizes, meeting mischievous eyes set upon a face that’s full of promises for future teasings and pranks.
The pads of your fingers are soft against his lips. His eyes wander against his will, landing on your lips twisted into a smirk, and his mind conjures an impossibly dangerous thought. Perhaps your lips would feel softer against his.
And then heat is creeping up his skin, searing red across his neck that reaches his cheeks and stops at the tips of his ears.
It’s nothing ostentatious. Not like the stories told in books where they meet each other’s eyes across the room and falter as their hearts beat as one, where they meet in the carnage of a battlefield, offering each other’s hands and knowing without a doubt that they will only ever have their backs for each other until the day they die. It’s not even one where he holds your hand and feels the way his heart leaps at the contact as he realizes what it might mean.
But this is still as meaningful, still as beautiful, suspended in time and carved in stone upon his memories until the winds of time erode it away.
A gentle breeze blows past you, and he catches the barest hint of a scent that consumes his mind and fills it with thoughts of nothing but you and your fingers lingering on his lips and how he’s never wanted to kiss a person more than he does now.
And oh, oh.
It’s a fanciful thought, but he imagines if his life were to become a book, then it should be one with an ending that intertwines with yours.
He considers that, for such a book, it would begin like this — the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and Diluc Ragnvindr is in love.
Tumblr media
SCARAMOUCHE
If Scaramouche were the kind to think thoughts that would have him put below the pedestal he’s placed himself at, he’d think there must be something wrong with him.
“Did you really think you could have defeated those monsters all on your own? You’re lucky I was nearby, otherwise you’d be nothing but a bloody splatter on the ground.” His words are as harsh as ever, carrying that biting tone that’s labeled him unapproachable and unlikeable to most anyone — that is, most anyone who isn’t you.
He doesn’t understand you, the reasoning behind your actions and words and generally everything about you that makes you so infuriating. It grates at him, not knowing something, especially when that something pertains to you. Though why that would even matter is beyond him.
You smile at him, a sheepish little thing, utterly unrepentant and unaware of the possible consequences your actions could have brought. Not that he cares if anything happens to you. He’d just rather not deal with the trouble of handling your papers should you die under his service.
(That was, admittedly, a very weak argument that he’ll chastise himself for later. A Harbinger would have more pressing work to do than handle every paperwork about a dead subordinate. Not that the fact about him handling your papers upon your death was untrue, only that it’s only your paper among his countless other subordinates who’ve died that he’ll bother doing.)
Your mask fell off somewhere in the middle of that rather pathetic fight. It’s a breach of protocol to not be wearing your mask while on duty, but Scaramouche chooses to ignore that particular rule. He’s a Harbinger, he’s the one who decides the rules. Having to order you to go fetch your mask to put it back on would be a waste of time and effort. Much more efficient to simply speak this way, he reasons. It’s most definitely not because he wants to see your eyes and the myriad of emotions that pass through them. And even if it is, it’s only a way for him to better read your expressions and discern whether you’re lying or not. He can’t have anyone betraying him the Fatui.
“I apologize, my lord. It seems I’m still unaccustomed to my new uniform.” Your voice carries a sort of lilt to it that makes it more tolerable than most people he’s ever spoken to. It’s not a compliment, lest his mind go against him and begin creating false narratives, it’s an observation rooted in fact. The sky is blue, the stars are false, and your voice isn’t unpleasant to listen to.
He does frown at your explanation. “Unaccustomed? It’s hardly that different from your previous uniform.” He would know, of course, he spent hours watching you in it. Not that he was watching you simply for the sake of watching, no, never, he was merely criticizing your choice of color scheme and the scuff marks and dried blood that never quite went away no matter how many times you washed it. You’ve complained to him enough times about it in a way that no subordinate should to their lord, but he was in a good mood then, so he let it slide… among countless other things he let slide.
You pull at the collar of your uniform. “It’s a bit constricting. I think they may have gotten my measurements wrong—”
He scoffs, crossing his arms and narrowing his eyes. “And you didn’t think to tell me? What use would I have for a recruit who can’t even move properly because of a tight uniform?”
“Well, you did tell me not to bother you anymore with my inane concerns, so I figured you wouldn’t want to hear about this…my lord.” The last part is added almost as an afterthought. He decides to let it slide.
He does recall something along those lines, sometime when he was in a foul mood and had no patience for your presence and the contradictions it brought in his behavior. He remembers being lost and dumbfounded the next day when you turned to leave after giving your report instead of lounging on his office’s couch and telling him about your day and the gossip you recently heard. He hadn’t actually meant for you to stop talking to him, but he was too proud to say so to you, which resulted in a week of silence on both parties. It was completely unbearable, but Scaramouche would sooner cut his own head off than admit it.
“Fine. You’re allowed to speak such drivel to me again, since you clearly can’t function without any sort of assistance from me.” It’s easy to twist the situation as if you’re the one who’s been dying to talk to him normally again instead of the other way around.
You laugh beneath your breath, something bordering on a giggle — a giggle, of all things. The last time someone had the audacity to giggle in his presence was…was a long time ago. Something he won’t dwell in.
“If you insist, my lord,” you say, an almost teasing twinkle in your eyes, and Scaramouche has never been more grateful exasperated that you aren’t wearing a mask. Who do you think you are to show such an emotion like happiness in front of him?
He’ll let it slide though. Just this once.
“Let’s return to the camp. I don’t want to be seen any longer with you looking the state you are now.” He deliberately ignores the fact that people will only see the two of you together once you’re back and not at this lone clearing. You turn to place your mask back on and he lets you. Wouldn’t do much good to have others see your face and plot whatever nefarious schemes their minds will cook up, like talking to you or, gods forbid, flirting with you—
And then he stops, completely frozen in place and unable to hide that shock that bleeds through his carefully crafted mask. He’s lucky you’re standing behind him, otherwise he’d have to kill you for seeing him in such a state. Not that he believes he’ll be able to go through with it, but the thought is needed though not necessarily appreciated.
He turns to you after he’s gotten ahold of his expression, eyes scanning your features and, with an almost sickening lurch in his stomach, finds that you’re not exactly unpleasant to look at.
Your hand reaches out for his arm with worry, and he nearly reels his hand back at the sheer audacity you have for assuming he is someone who needs worrying for but—but.
He rather likes the feeling of your fingers brushing against his skin.
So he lets you close your hand around his arm and look at him with through a mask he knows harbors a concerned look behind it. He nearly laughs at the notion of someone being concerned for him, but alas, you’re such an anomaly that even he can’t bring himself to mock even the worst trait you possess.
You are truly the most vexing person he’s ever had the displeasure of meeting.
Perhaps if you keep touching him like this, he’ll let that one slide too.

Genshin Guys with an S/O Dealing with Sensory Overload (Wriothesley, Diluc, Alhaitham, Neuvillette)
Please note that this is all from my experience. Obviously not everyone is going to experience it like this. Basically this is me shamelessly self-inserting again. I mean, what's new?
I'm going to format this as kind of scenarios in bullet point form, rather than my usual
CW: hurt/comfort, neurodivergent reader
Wriothesly x gn!reader, Diluc x gn!reader, Alhaitham x gn!reader, Neuvillette x gn!reader
Requests and Ask Box is OPEN
Wriothesley
Sensory overload isn't really that uncommon around Wriothesly
And it's not because he's loud or anything, but the Fortress of Meropide isn't a quiet place. I imagine there's always a lot of little sounds even at night. Stuff like dripping pipes, hissing steam, little things
And even if you're not hanging out at Fortress, the city isn't even much quieter
Thankfully he's the perceptive, people-smart type so there's no way in hell sensory overload is getting past him
Tight fists, pinched eyebrows, flinching at loud noises, yeah, he ain't missin' that shit
When he notices you doing that he's quick to finish whatever conversation he's in and bringing you to a quieter location
He's either soundproofed his room or set aside some space in the fortress where you can be alone in the quiet. If you need music to avoid complete and total quiet he has some soft records for you to listen to
Diluc
Diluc has an easier time dealing with the sensory overload
When the day has left you worn out, overloaded, and on edge, wincing at even soft noises, you seek out Diluc
Of course, if you're helping/hanging out at the Angel's Share, chances are he's already at least noticed your reactions to the ambient chaos
If he can't get away from the bar, he hands you the keys to his room and tells you to go rest, that he'll be up when he's free
At the Winery, he's left instructions that even if he's not there, you should be brought to a quiet out of the way room (ehem, his room) and given whatever you need
In either location, as soon as he's free he's coming to make sure you're alright. He usually has something for your headache, knowing that you've probably got one
If you let him, he'll want to hold you, rubbing circles into your shoulder. But if you need space, he'll leave you be once
More than anything he's intent on making any of his spaces safe and comfortable for you
Alhaitham
Alhaitham is an asshole and doesn't people, but when it comes to sensory overload he's 100% sympathetic
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's something he deals with on the regular
It's also not something you can hide from him (in fact you might go to him because he's a quiet person who has no issues telling anyone who would bother you to go sit on it)
The first thing he does is kick whoever he's talking to out of the room. Unlike Wrio, he doesn't bother wrapping up the conversation, he just tells them to leave
If you're at his house, Kaveh gets told to find a different room to occupy and Kaveh actually listens (I mean, Kaveh is a nice guy who isn't going to be mean to you just to give his roommate the metaphorical middle finger. Really, neither of them are.)
Once he's gotten rid of any annoyances, he's handing over his headphones
He also helps darken the room your in (modifications Kaveh helped with--I feel like both of them are far more willing to accommodate you than each other, even if it means working together)
After that, he just leaves you alone. If you have a headache, he'll find something to help, but he just goes to read
If you're in a place where he can't just shoo people away and remove any offending sensations, he goes out of his way to comfort you (which took him forever to figure out how to do, but he likes you so it's worth the effort). Even if it's just lending you headphones while he takes you by the hand and leads you through the city
Neuvillette
Honestly, it takes Neuvie a while to get used to a S/O who is prone to Sensory Overload
He's not human and is very much accustomed to the chaos of the Opera Epiclese, Palais Mermonia, and Fontaine City in general
So when Sedene lets you in to Neuvie's office (he's left instructions that unless he's in a conversation you can't be privy to, you're just to be let in) and you're nearly in tears, he's very concerned
Anything he's doing is immediately set to the side so he can figure out what's wrong
When he figures out that your brain just can't process any more input without feeling like it's about to spontaneously combust, he's a little confused, but he focuses more on how to help you
First things first, he has you hydrate while he tells Sedene to not let anyone in unless it's an emergency and finishes up whatever he's doing. If you're not feeling well, he wants to be able to focus his attention on you
Then he takes you somewhere quieter and darker
Eventually, much like Diluc and Wrio, he sets aside a place for you to go. He makes sure you can keep it as dark and quiet as you want, while making sure any sensory things you gravitate to are easily accessed
On days where you decide to take a nap, it's not uncommon to see him wrapped around you, letting his naturally cool temperature soothe you

It was that time again, the time when the snow was falling, the time when the Christmas tree went up and when all of Mondstadt became filled with Christmas joy. But it was also time to see family, which was the one part you despised, mainly one person—your sister.
You mentioned before to Diluc about your sister, about how she had always stolen every single one of your boyfriends. So of course you were worried about telling your family the two of you were engaged. Your sister would only step up her act to get Diluc to be hers. You were a little worried that he would leave you, because well what if he did?
Ding ding
“I’ll get it, honey, you look pretty comfy wrapped in those blankets.” Diluc smiled at you. God his smile was so pure.
About a minute later your mother and father walked into the room carrying armfuls of bags. Of course, Diluc had offered to carry some but still, they had so many. Then your sister walked in, carrying nothing but a handbag. Once all the bags were put down somewhere, greetings began.
“Hello, sweetie!” Your mother said.
Your father behind the two of you was interrogating Diluc, you’re pretty sure Diluc looked at you signalling, What do I do? You came up behind him and hugged him all while giving your dad a look. Your sister was just standing there looking at Diluc as if he were the last handbag on earth.
You could already feel the jealousy radiating off her. Her eyes scanned him up and down leaving no part of his body untouched. You glared at her in an attempt to get her to stop, but she couldn’t keep her eyes off the red-haired man.
Once you finally let go of him you showed each of them to their rooms. Your sister insisted that he take her, and archons he was so oblivious to her. Of course, being the gentleman he is took her. You knew he wouldn’t act on her advances, would he?
Well, about 20 minutes later diluc came out with lipstick marks on his cheek and neck. Which made your stomach drop, you thought he was loyal. You thought you could trust him, but now… You were due to get married in less than a year and now that may have to be called off.
“Y/n, sweetie…”
“Hmm oh, it’s fine…” It was not fine you could see the way his face dropped when your voice broke.
“No it's not can you listen to me.”
“I don’t really think there's much to listen to.” You walked out of the room just as your sister came in.
You could hear her attempts to seduce Diluc but you didn’t care. He obviously loved her now since he’d been kissing her so much. But maybe you should’ve listened, maybe he could’ve cleared all that up. The pair were now out of earshot and you could only imagine what she was doing. Twirling her hair, touching his arm and chest, the worst thing was you didn’t know how he was feeling in all this.
About half an hour later, he finally found you. You were curled up in a ball in the bathroom, you weren’t crying, you couldn’t cry. You felt numb. He came and wrapped his arms around you, he was warm and not just because of his pyro vision. Your sister's perfume filled your nose, which made your insides scream with jealousy.
“Hun… Look can you listen to me.” His eyes filled with sadness.
“I don’t want her to take you.”
“Take me? Y/n, don’t be silly. Im yours and yours alone.” He pointed to the ring on his finger. “See this? That means on yours. And this ring on your hand means you are mine. No jealous sister is going to take that from us.”
“You promise.”
“I promise. Now let's get out there and show her we love each other.”
“You know she's taken almost all of my boyfriends. She just can’t seem to get her own”
“That’s just her craving attention, she’s insecure.”
Diluc pulled you up from your position pulling you into yet another hug. “Im sorry, I really did try to tell her to leave me alone.”
“She’s very persistent.”
He dragged you out to the kitchen where the rest of your family was starting to enjoy the Christmas lunch, your sister had already saved a seat for Diluc. He just proceeded to ignore her.
“Y/n this is delicious!” Your mother exclaimed. “You’ve outdone yourself. I might have to step up my game next year.”
You chuckled. “Maybe you will.”
Diluc wrapped an arm around your waist pulling you in closer. “Thank you dear, it's wonderful.”
Your sister still stared with jealousy, maybe she would never get the message.

It was at this night when Diluc realizes you’re one unpredictable person.
When he suggested to go and explore more around Mondstadt after the reception party, he never thought you’d ask if he’s going to go with you. Of course, he accepted seeing how he has no other things to do tonight, much to your delight.
Hence how you find yourselves walking out of the hotel together, the bouquet that somehow managed to land on you is now in the hands of Zhongli, who’s willing to bring it up in the room as he bids you farewell and a safe trip.
To his relief, the both of you agreed to come explore around a certain area of the city that’s quiet. The last thing he needs is people being curious and spreading news of why the wine tycoon’s with a “mysterious stranger” who’s just a friend to him.
The whole time throughout the stroll, the two of you were chatting about what you’d want for your weddings thanks to how you’re supposedly the next person to get married because of the bouquet of flowers(1).
Diluc honestly never thought he’d ever have a comfortable conversation with someone about what they want with weddings until now – if anything, your conversations with him brought him the simplest things he didn’t even know about himself.
“If you’d have to choose your cake for your wedding, what flavor would it have?” You ask.
“...Anything, I suppose. It all depends on what makes my spouse satisfied, really.” He answers. “But if they’d ask what I want if they can’t decide, I suppose chocolate flavored doesn’t sound bad.”
Before you could enter your own opinion about your question, you perk up at the sound of someone playing a violin somewhere near the area around you. People can still street perform at this hour? (2)
“It seems there are still street performers at night.” Diluc commented, looking around to look for the source of the music. “Would you like to see one?”
Your eyes brighten. “I don’t see why not.”
The both of you then look for the performer, relying on the sound to find your destination. It wasn’t really difficult nor did it take you long, it was only a few minutes of walking and turning directions while you grin in excitement when you two finally found the person behind the music. There were a few people around him –  his audience – who all happily listened to the beautiful sounds of the violin playing.
You and Diluc decided to stand idly by and watch from a spot that’s near where everyone is, it’s enough to be far from those watching but near enough to see the performer and hear the music more. The performer is effortlessly playing the violin that’s in sync with the speaker behind him that’s playing out the piano.
You can’t help but sway left and right a little, something that did not go unnoticed by your companion, who can’t help but watch in adoration and amusement.
He immediately looks away from your direction as soon as you turn your head to the side to look at him. “Do you play any instrument?” You asked suddenly, your tone hushed but curious.
Diluc glances at your way before looking back at the performer, trying to act natural. “...Yes. I play the violin as well.”
You felt taken back by surprise. “Really? Do you play on a daily basis?”
He shakes his head. “I don’t use it as a hobby, I just know how to play it because of the lessons I took when I was a kid.”
“Would you play it if someone requests you to?” You ask.
“Depends on who it is.” He responds, crossing his arms.
“What if it’s me?”
“That’s debatable.”
“Is that a yes or no?”
“What do you think?”
“...Yes?”
Diluc can’t help but chuckle at that. “...I’ll think about it.”
You cheered. “That’s the spirit.”
After a few minutes, the performance finally ends. You and Diluc decide to come up to the performer and place a few mora on the violin case that seems to be piled up with other mora given by the audience, who are giving him an applause.
“Thank you Mx. and Mister. May the wind lead you.” The performer spoke up gratefully, not recognizing Diluc much to your relief.
You and Diluc nodded in acknowledgement. “Likewise. Your performance is beautiful, Mister.” You replied happily before walking away with your companion.
In just a few moments, another song starts playing, this time it’s more of a romantic one as the performer glances at where you and Diluc left off.
“Ah, that was a nice performance, isn’t it?” You comment happily, continuing your stroll around the quiet streets.
“It is.” Diluc hums, hiding his small smile from the amusing image of you swaying while watching the performance.
“Where should we go next?” You wondered, looking around your surroundings in hopes of finding something that catches your eye. “Do you have any place to go in mind?”
The man thinks about it for a moment. “We could visit the Market District. They sell foods and items that I think you’d like.” He suggests.
You didn’t give it any thought, agreeing to his suggestion straight away. “Let’s go there then! I think a cute souvenir to bring home sounds nice.”
“Let’s go then.”
And so you’re off to your next destination.
Unlike how you found the street performer, it took you and Diluc quite a while to get to the Market District until you arrived at last after a couple of turns. When you arrive, you’re met with the sight of the area that’s filled with shops, food booths and people walking around, who didn’t notice the fact that Diluc Ragnvindr himself is among them.
The aroma of foods being cooked and served instantly hits your nose, and you could almost feel your mouth watering at the thought of getting your hands on those delicious snacks.
“Shall we?” Diluc spoke up, causing you to look at him.
“We shall!” You replied enthusiastically before dragging your companion towards the bustling streets.
The both of you look at each shop and food booths you pass by, not noticing how close you two are due to the crowd around you.
You then stop when you see the sight of keychains displayed that have flowers, birds, wine bottles, and everything that represents Mondstadt as designs. Bingo!
“Do you want to get one?” Diluc suddenly asks, pointing at the booth that sells the said keychains.
You nodded in response. “Yes. I can use that for my bag.”
“Let’s go then before it closes.”
As you and Diluc walk towards the booth, the person selling the items quickly notices you both and waves at you. “Ah, welcome, welcome, Mx. and Mister! You made a good choice coming here to buy my products! Which one catches your eye?” She chirped.
You look at each keychain that’s displayed in front of you until you notice a keychain that resembles Mondstadt’s beautiful Anemo symbol.
You pointed at the keychain. “I’d like to buy that one please.”
The woman looks at where you’re pointing, letting out an “ah” before grabbing it. “Good choice, Mx! We hope you show the symbol of this land off with pride and happiness.”
“I certainly will.”
“And how about you, Mister? Would you like to purchase a keychain as well?”
Diluc shakes his head in response. “No need, I’m just here to keep them company.”
The woman nodded, walking towards her cashier as she brought out a paper bag. “You can just give me your payment and you’re good to go. That will be 1000 mora please.”
You then give her your payment as the woman hands you off the package that has the keychain inside, bidding you goodbye the moment you and Diluc walk away.
Throughout the walk, you and Diluc saw a lot of things and tried out almost everything. Be it the sunglasses booth whereas you try to find a good sunglasses that matches Diluc – only to find yourself making him put on a huge star glasses that made you laugh so much from how he looked so serious, the perfume booth where you tried out some perfumes with your companion, and mostly food booths where you ate snacks that originated from Mondstadt, Inazuma, and some other regions.
The one that’s memorable for you is certainly when you and Diluc encountered a photo booth, causing you to persuade your friend into taking pictures together to have at least something that has a reminder of this night. To your delight, he accepted it.
You two then proceeded to enter the booth, settling on your seats and preparing for the camera to shoot you.
“Alright, ready?” You ask as Diluc fixes his clothing.
“Yes.” He responds.
“Okay, I’ll press the button then!” Without another pause, you instantly pressed the button at the bottom of the screen that shows you and Diluc, causing a 10 second countdown to begin. “Since the photos are only five, we could do two casual pictures and three poses?”
“Sounds alright to me.”
After a few minutes, you walked out from the photobooth with Diluc, excited to see the pictures that’ll come out from the booth. When you did, you were satisfied with it.
In all honesty, it was you who did most of the poses and facial expressions. Diluc was either having a blank face, a confused look on his face, and hilariously: a thumbs-up as a response to your hand that’s making a half heart, and a half-heart as a response to your hand that’s making a peace sign, something that made you laugh endlessly the moment the pictures were processed outside.
He’ll admit, it was funny to see the last two pictures, but what made him almost laugh was how infectious your laughter is. Anyone who’d look at your direction would be able to notice how his shoulders are shaking due to him holding his laughter.
As soon as your laughter dies, the two of you then go to the last stop, which is a food stall that’s selling the infamous chicken-mushroom skewers, causing you to tap Diluc’s arm and gesture him to the food stall eagerly the moment you see the booth.
The red-haired man looks at where you’re pointing at and agrees to go there, causing you to drag him to the stall much to his surprise.
“Welcome, Mx. and Mister! What would you two like for this fine evening?” The vendor greeted you with a smile.
“Two chicken-mushroom skewers, please.” Diluc responds, a bit breathless from you rushing towards the food booth while dragging him.
As your orders are being cooked, you two wait beside the booth and continue your conversation.
“Are you having fun?” He asks.
You nodded happily. “Yeah, I enjoy our time here. It was a good idea for us to come and stroll around the city after the reception, thanks for keeping me company.”
“It’s no problem. I’m happy I was able to take you around Mondstadt.” He responds, his lips twitching upwards. “If you’d like, I could take you to the Plaza Park that’s somewhere near the Market District. Not a lot of people visit there at this hour as far as I know.”
“I’d be delighted! We can go there once we get the skewers if that’s alright with you.”
“Of course.”
As if on cue, the vendor is finished with your orders at last, handing it out to you both.
“If I may, I can’t help but want to comment about how you two are one wonderful couple! You certainly remind me of my youthful days with my dear wife.” The vendor explains honestly with a laugh, causing you and Diluc to feel flustered.
“O-Oh you got it all wrong, Mister! We’re not a couple.” You clarified with an embarrassed laugh.
The vendor stops laughing, looking shocked. “Oh, my bad! I apologize – I assumed you were together that way..” He said in embarrassment.
“It’s alright, here’s your payment for the food, Mister.” Diluc said, giving the mora to the vendor.
“Oh you didn’t have to pay for my food too, Diluc! I could always pay on my own.” You spoke.
“I insist. It’s on me.” Diluc reassures you. “Shall we go then?”
Reluctantly, you agreed, causing the two of you to start walking towards the nearest street that can lead you to the park. “Alright, if you insist.”
As soon as you and Diluc are out of the vendor’s sight, the vendor can’t help but sigh. “What a shame, they look like they’d be a wonderful couple.” He commented to himself.
The two of you spend the entire journey towards the park eating your chicken-mushroom skewers, making sure to stick together to not get lost from the crowd. It doesn't take long before you’re finally out of the place and see the park that’s not too far away from where you and Diluc exited from.
When you arrive at the park, you’re already finished with your snack.
“Ah, I’m so full.” You comment, throwing the stick to the trash bin that’s beside the entrance with Diluc following. “What’s the park like?”
“It’s quiet and peaceful. Usually I’d come to visit whenever I encountered it. They have a good view of the stars above.” Diluc answers, causing you to look up at the sky when he mentions the stars, only to be in awe at the lovely sight of the night sky above you two.
“The stars are beautiful tonight.” You spoke. “Usually I only look at it when I want to stargaze or wish for something.”
“Oh? What kind of wish is it?”
You smile sheepishly. “It’s kind of embarrassing and super cheesy…” You comment shyly.
“Try me.” Diluc said, now curious.
Hesitantly, you gave in. “Fine, I usually just wish for my dreams to come true.”
“Don’t worry about it being embarrassing and cheesy, everyone does that.” He reassures you.
You raise an eyebrow with a teasing smile. “Even you?”
He clears his throat, turning away. “...I suppose.”
“What do you dream about then?”
Diluc thinks about it for a while before he answers, “I dream of.. feeling home again.”
Your eyes widen a bit. You expected his dream to be somewhat related to his business – or even love – but not this. “What do you mean by that?” You ask.
“...The place I live in is anything but home.” He answers honestly. “I’m only living there because it’s one of the only things I have left that belongs to my father. It just feels… wrong for me to leave it.”
You frowned. “Won’t your father want you to leave it?”
“I’m not sure.” He responds with an unsure tone, looking up at the sky. “There’s a lot of things I’m not sure about my father anymore, but… maybe there’ll come a day when I decide to leave it. For now, I’m content with what I have.”
Diluc then looks at you. “What about you? What do you dream about?”
You think about it as well, then the memory of your conversation with Chisato’s father as well as what you found out about Ayato’s suffering from that cruel man flashes in your head, causing you to frown a bit. “I guess… I dream of the world to shine true.”
The man raises his eyebrows upward in surprise. “What does that mean?”
“I dream that someday, the world can be a place where evil can’t go unpunished as dawn comes and goes.” You explain, letting out a longing sigh as you look at the stars. “Isn't it sad that there are evil people who are getting away with what they’ve done?”
Something flashes in Diluc’s eyes. “Of course..”
You then smile, looking back at him. “Enough about that, shall we find a spot and stargaze?”
Without a thought, he agrees willingly. “Of course.”
It took you and Diluc to find a good spot to look at the sky for only a few minutes, when you did, Diluc was kind enough to put his tuxedo jacket on the grass for you to lie down on.
For the next hour, you spent your last destination looking at the stars, pointing out all the constellations you see all the while you talk to him more about your dreams and his, your laughter and his chuckles fills the silence of the park.
“Ooo I see the Noctua constellation!” You point out, staring in awe at the constellation that has the shape of an owl as you lie next to each other.
“Which one’s your favorite?” Diluc asks.
“I’m not sure, all the ones I know of are definitely beautiful. What about you?”
He points at where you’re pointing at. “The Noctua constellation. It reminds me of my pet bird.”
“You have a pet bird–?!”
“( Name )? Is that you?”
Your conversation with Diluc is stopped abruptly when you hear a familiar voice, one who you never thought you’d see in a place such as Mondstadt, causing you to sit up and look around to find the source of the voice.
Your eyes brighten at the sight of a familiar man.
“Heizou!?” You exclaim, quickly standing up from the ground. “Is that you?!”
If there’s one person you can count on when it comes to police-related matters, Heizou is your guy. The two of you go way back before high school and have always teased you whenever he has the chance, but you’d be lying if you said you didn’t like his company back when you were kids. He’s also incredibly smart, so it’s no surprise he ended up being a detective in the infamous Inazuma Police Force.
The young man laughs in shock when he learns it’s you, immediately walking towards you. “Well consider me impressed, I never thought you’d be in Mondstadt! weren’t you working in Liyue?” He asks, wrapping his arms around you happily, causing you to laugh in response and hug him back.
“Of course I am! I’m just taking a vacation here.” You explained, not noticing how Diluc stands up as well from the ground and watches you two with a complicated look on his face.
“What about you? What brings you to Mondstadt?” You ask.
“Ah well, let’s say it’s work related.” He said, scratching his head. “But enough about me, may I say how absolutely breathtaking you look? Wait, are you on a date?!”
Suddenly, Heizou looks at where Diluc is. “Hey Mister, you better be treating ( Name ) good–”
You immediately stop the young man from talking any further by covering his mouth with your hands, flustered by his quick assumptions. What’s up with people mistaking you and Diluc as a couple?! “Oh my gosh, Heizou no! My friend Diluc and I are just spending time tonight after a reception party. We were exploring all around the street and was just stargazing.” You clarified, letting go of his hand.
“Diluc? Why does that sound familiar?” Heizou asks before looking down at his watch. “I’m sure it doesn’t matter, but I should be going now before I’m late. It’s a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Diluc, and it’s a pleasure seeing you, ( Name )!”
“Aw, it’s a pleasure seeing you too, Heizou.” You said, giving him one last hug before seeing him off. “I’ll text you when I get back!”
“You better! We should get out and eat sometime!”
“Only if you pay!”
As you watch Heizou walk away until he’s out of your vision, you immediately look at where Diluc is, who’s still standing there with a blank expression on his face.
“You alright?” You ask, coming towards your companion. “Sorry, I hope you weren’t bothered by what my cousin said.”
“...Cousin?” Diluc raises an eyebrow from that word. “Wait, he’s your cousin?”
“...Yeah?” You raise an eyebrow as well, confused with what your friend is trying to imply. “What did you think we were?”
He clears his throat in response, a bit embarrassed. “I thought he’s an old friend of yours, that’s why I was surprised. He’s a nice guy, I suppose.”
“He is.” You agreed with a happy hum. “He’s a great detective. I haven’t seen him ever since I left Inazuma.”
Your face slowly fell. “I guess… the same goes with you when I come back to Liyue. I’m not sure when I’ll ever get back here anyway.. I won’t be able to see nor talk to you at all.” You spoke, shoulders slump when you realize you won’t be seeing Diluc next week.
The same goes with your friend, who is a bit taken back when he realizes that fact too.
You then look down at your phone for the time and see 00:00, causing you to look at Diluc with an awkward smile. “I should come back now to the hotel, it’s already midnight and I’m sure Zhongli’s going to worry that I’m out for long.” You said, keeping your phone away.
“I’ll come with you.” He said, getting his tuxedo jacket from the ground and shaking the grass off.
“Oh no need, I don’t want to–”
“You do know I’m still staying in the Goth Grand Hotel… right?”
“...Oh right…” You said, feeling your cheeks warming up in embarrassment. “I-I thought you were invited to serve the drinks?”
“Not exactly.” He responds. “I’m invited as a guest due to how the Kamisato family often collaborates with Angel’s Share in the business world, so you could say Mr. Kamisato and I are acquaintances.”
“Didn’t you say something about being invited to the wedding and reception because they liked your drinks?” You ask, recalling the time when you manage to encounter him in Angel’s Share. (3)
“I… I didn’t mean it when I said that.” He said, a little embarrassed. “I was too focused on making drinks to uh… realize what I said until it’s too late.”
The both of you remained silent, now embarrassed and awkward from the conversation you had.
Diluc clears his throat. “..We should get going.”
“Definitely.”
By the time you arrived at your doors, the two of you were reluctant to go to your respective rooms, still having a lot more to say to each other despite spending time for literally hours together.
“...I guess this is it.” You spoke up. “We can always chat tomorrow when we can, won’t we?”
Diluc nodded in response. “Of course… As long as we’re free.”
You then look at your door, but before you could reach out your hotel card to the door knob, the man behind you speaks up.
“Or… We could always message each other.” He suggests, causing you to stop yourself from unlocking your room.
You immediately turned around. “Are you serious?” You ask with brightened eyes. “You’re really willing to give me your number?”
“I trust that you won’t share such information with anyone, won’t you?” He said, bringing out his phone from his pocket.
You nodded in response, bringing out your phone as well. “Your secret’s safe with me. Here’s my phone number.”
The both of you then proceeded to exchange each other’s phone numbers willingly before bidding each other goodbye.
“It was nice spending time with you, Diluc. I had fun the whole night.” You said, unlocking your hotel room. “See you tomorrow.”
“Likewise, ( Name ).” Diluc responded. “Have a good night.”
“You too!”
As soon as you enter your room and close the door behind you, you immediately rush towards Zhongli, who’s surprisingly still awake at this hour.
“Zhongli, Zhongli! Guess what happened with Diluc!”
Meanwhile, as soon as Diluc enters his own room and closes his door, he immediately heads towards his bed and sits on it, covering his face with his hands with a loud sigh.
He has to admit, he hadn’t had so much fun until tonight. There was never a time when he thought about going back to the hotel nor did he think about other things besides the ones you’re talking about.
And before he knew it, his thoughts slowly drifted to you.
He remembers the time when you swayed from left to right slowly as the performer plays with the violin and later on starts playing a romantic song as soon as the both of you had left, the time when you and him were almost touching from how crowded the Market District was which led him to be in a daze from how flustered he was, the time when you were laughing so hard at what he did in the photo booth that made him feel starstrucked at the sound that makes him want to hear it again and again, the time when he looks at you as you point out all the constellations you see at the sky as if the both of you are lying down on the softest bed you’re sharing, the time when he gained the courage to ask for your number,
And the time when he felt jealous because of Heizou, who turned out to be just your cousin.
Get it together, Diluc. He thought to himself strictly. You don’t deserve this. It won’t happen at all, you have no right.
Suddenly, he hears his phone vibrating in his pocket, causing him to put his hands away from his face and pulls out his phone to look at the message sent, his eyes brightening when he realizes it’s your number and quickly opens his phone.
Tumblr media
His lips twitched upward when he reads your message, his fingers start typing out a response and press the send button.
Tumblr media
Diluc doesn’t know why, but he starts feeling nervous the moment he sends his message, waiting for you to reply as well. Does his message sound too cold? Did he use emoticons right?
A minute later, you responded.
Tumblr media
He sighs in relief that you didn’t point out anything about his message, but he feels a bit disappointed that the conversation ended so shortly. He responds to your last message with a simple one.
Tumblr media
With that, he turns off his phone and puts it aside, letting out yet another sigh.
If he’s nervous about how he responds to your messages, he can’t imagine how he’ll feel later when he wakes up.

DAN'S NOTES
"...thanks to how you’re supposedly the next person to get married because of the bouquet of flowers(1)."
there's a belief that whoever catches the bride's flowers is supposedly the next person to get married or have a wedding.
"People can still street perform at this hour? (2)"
in this au, one of the things that makes mondstadt different from the rest of the regions is the fact that street performers can perform all night as long as they're far from apartments and houses, unlike the rest of the regions.
“Didn’t you say something about being invited to the wedding and reception because they liked your drinks?” You ask, recalling the time when you manage to encounter him in Angel’s Share. (3)
this was actually an oopsie of mine and forgot the fact that he was personally invited by ayato and chisato when i wrote the angel’s share scene so sorry for that ( >_< ) !!!
“but dan, who would invite a guest to their wedding and make them work?!?!?!”
obv it’d be rude to invite someone to your wedding and make them work, so chisato and ayato wouldn’t dare to do that. it was diluc himself who offered to serve drinks to other guests since he isn’t much a fan to waste time doing something such as eating and watching people play games and dance instead of doing work, so the wedding couple — tho a bit reluctantly — accepted it.

It was a long walk home.
The time without you was terrifying. He insisted he needed time away, time to think—to be angry, to grieve, to process it all—without the fear of lashing out on you.
His father passed due to the Fatui’s traps and Delusions and went on a rampage through the country. He couldn’t hold still, he couldn’t think, and you didn’t deserve to be around him and deal with the results of something that wasn’t your problem.
Despite how much he still believed all that, he knew he couldn’t run forever.
He hesitated for a long moment but decided to ring the doorbell. He rocked back and forth on his heels, waiting anxiously for the door to open. When it opened, he gave a small, awkward wave to Adelinde.
Her mouth opened slightly as she struggled to put the words together to speak. “Master Diluc—“
He shook his head. “Please, just….can I come in?”
She put on her best face, taking a moment to steady herself. “Of course. The winery will always have a place for you.”
He followed her a few feet in the doorway when he heard another voice from the top of the stairs.
“Adelinde? Who is it?” you asked, followed by a quiet gasp.
Diluc, using every ounce of strength he could muster in his mind, raised his head to look at you. He didn’t deserve to see you—he didn’t deserve you—but he had to know you were okay.
The next thing he knew, you ran down the stairs to him and jumped into his arms. He tried to cover his groan of pain with a cough—he had more injuries than he thought, initially—but wrapped his arms tightly around you. You were here, in his arms again. It was everything he’d wished he could be selfish and have for years before he had you, and everything he’d dreamed about in the time he spent away.
“Diluc,” you said in a hushed voice, pulling away enough to look at him.
That look said everything. He knew he’d broken your trust, he knew you were upset. If you’d left on a rampage for several weeks to a foreign country and just left a note and occasionally sent letters home, he would be angry too. It wasn’t fair to you, and he knew that.
“Go get a shower, darling. You smell like the woods.”
He smiled. Genuinely, actually smiled for the first time in ages. You always managed to pick him up whenever anything was wrong, usually with an ill-timed joke or comforting words. Usually both. He nodded and pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. “Thank you,” he muttered, not entirely sure how much he was thanking you for.
Later that evening, after a shower, a proper meal, and Adelinde insisting on helping bandage him up, he made his way to the bedroom you shared before he left. In the time he was still in Mondstadt, he didn’t have the heart to go through his father’s things in the master bedroom.
He knocked quietly and entered, unsure if you were asleep. He knew it was late when he arrived home and even later now that he’d settled in. It was nice to wear the soft, clean clothes Adelinde prepared for him after nearly wrapping him head to toe in bandages.
You were reading, simply lounging in bed. He stood by the door, tense and unsure of what was going to happen from here. He was home, you seemed happy to see him, but he knew you had to be upset. It was completely justified, he knew that it wasn’t fair for him to up and leave like that.
“I-”
“Don’t,” you said softly, closing the book and setting it on the nightstand next to you. Your voice wasn’t cold or harsh by any means—you were calm. And when you looked at him, he only saw his beautiful lover that had always stood by him, no matter if he was in an argument with his immature brother or was injured fighting off hillychurls. Maybe this wouldn’t be much different.
You held your arms out for him and he hesitated. Would you really want to hold him, after everything he did? Everything you didn’t even know he did?
But your eyes silently pleaded with him, so he laid next to you. Immediately, he felt your arms gingerly around him, brushing over the bandages and minimal amount of bare skin between them. He melted into you, having kept himself from that kind of love for so long—he didn't realize how much he missed you until he was there with you again.
Silently, the tears poured from his eyes. His breath shook and he buried his face in your shoulder. As gently as possible, he felt your hands brush through his slightly-damp hair, brushing pieces out of his face and running over his head soothingly.
“It’s alright,” you mutter, kissing the top of his head.
“It’s not,” he tries to argue, realizing very quickly how quickly the exhaustion was hitting him. “I’m–I’m so sorry—”
You hush him gently, tilting his head to look at you. “Diluc, we don’t have to talk tonight. You’re home, you’re safe. That’s all that matters to me—but you’re exhausted. I can see it in your eyes. We can talk tomorrow. For now, sleep. It’s late.”
He took a deep, shaky breath and nodded. “I love you,” he muttered.
It took a long time for his mind to shut down. He couldn’t stop thinking—there was so much he felt like he had to explain. So much had happened, he’d missed so much since he was home. But he was home now, and he guessed that was the important part. After what felt like ages, he let himself relax against you and eventually fell asleep, enjoying the feeling of you running your hands through his hair. In a world where he now didn’t have anyone, and he didn’t know who he could or couldn’t trust, he knew he had you, at least in this moment.

Since it is the month of monster fucking, I shall grace you with an idea that's been living in my head rent-free for the past couple of days. Imagine if you will, Sub AFAB Diluc with a Hydro Eidolon Reader(gn). Let's assume that Reader is a unusually powerful Eidolon that can shift into whatever form they like by their own choice (human or otherwise), and that they have the necessary intelligence to pass as a human. So, imagine having a blindfolded Diluc straddle your lap and using your control of Hydro to slowly tease his holes open, while kissing him breathless. Imagine edging him for hours as you increase the number of tentacles in his cunt and ass for one, to two, to three. Fucking him until he's a overstimulated mess as you coo praises in his ear, telling him what a good boy he is, how well he's taking you. After finally having your fill you run a warm bath for the both of you, and cuddle up in bed to sleep.
I'm listening. I'm imagining 👀
Trans guys + tentacles truly are a wonderful combo...so is a scenario like this followed by aftercare and cuddles ❤️
-
All of Diluc holes are occupied; the two holes between his legs are stuffed with writhing tentacles, stretching him open while delicious moans beckon for you to push him a little more, see how much more your darling could take before his brain goes blank and his pussy clenches from yet another orgasm
Meanwhile Diluc's mouth is victim to your relentless kisses, maybe you have one hand on his hip to steady his trembling form and the other hand tangled in the back of his hair? A grip tight enough to keep his face pressed close while you, quite literally, take his breath away. Whispering so many praises in between each kiss
And after you've relaxed in that nice bath, you'll hold each other close under the sheets. The moonbeams seeping in between the curtains being the only light to illuminate Diluc's content expression as he breathes an “I love you”, and you return the sentiment punctuated with another kiss to his cheek or forehead 🥺

A Team Effort (Yandere! Diluc × GN! Reader) (Suggestive !!!)
*not quite nsfw, nothing happens except for a make-out session, but there is a huge implication at the end.
A/N: diluc and reader are both “nobles” bc I am eating these historical manwhas UP man. this is a little cringe but I needed an outlet
warning(s) 🚨: !!! yandere !!!, possessive behavior, non-consensual touching, non-consensual kissing,🚨 !!!! implied non-con at the end !!!!🚨, reader has a bad family but it’s not described in detail, kidnapping, forced marriage, obsessive behavior, betrayal, captivity, slight exhibitionism?? (Diluc is making out w reader and Kaeya’s just chilling there, watching)
*is suggestive but only bc diluc is getting friendly w reader’s neck and lips and leaving a bunch of hickies and the last line is !!VERY!! suggestive (it’s a tad bit steamy and very implicative), Kaeya is there too and he’s also *creepy* (they’re both morally questionable in this), Kaeya is in on Diluc’s yandere behavior, reader is an innocent bystander in all this bs, !!! Reader has a Shit Family (TM) !!!
summary: Feeling that the distance between your worlds was too wide, you never acted on the feelings you had for Diluc Ragnvindr. When Diluc proposes, you reject him. His brother decides to take matters into his own hands by delivering you to Diluc himself. Diluc doesn’t oppose the new arrangement, as long as you’re with him.
—————————
Soft lips trailed eagerly up your neck, across your collar bone, over any skin they could reach that had been previously covered by the light night shirt you wore. You felt an insane amount of heat seep through your skin at the contact. For hours your neck and lips had been receiving his attention; biting, bruising, worshipping to no end.
You tried not to squirm as his hands—his hot, hot hands—held you firmly in place; both of them settled on your hips, his unnatural warmth bleeding through the thin fabric and into your skin. Your back was pressed up against the headboard of the luxurious bed you had been sat upon. The man you were holding onto for dear life buried his head into the crook of your neck, using his tongue and teeth to suck and lick blooming marks into the sensitive skin. The deep scent of firewood, ink, and a strong cologne surrounded you, suffocating your senses and putting you into a delirious haze.
Your shirt had been tugged down and rested just above your chest. The man laying passionate kisses across your upper body had not dared to pull it any further. How gentlemanly he was, being considerate enough to allow you to cover up from his wandering eyes, and yet everything else he was doing was still highly inappropriate. He had pulled it down just enough to allow himself a taste, to run his fingers over the smooth expanse of skin that was once hidden to him by layers of clothing, and perhaps to make you look just the slightest bit debauched as his mouth marked anywhere it could reach.
—————————
You had been brought to the Ragnvindr Manor against your will. It was more like a quiet ambush than a kidnapping and, as you found out when it was was too late, it had been planned by your family without your knowledge.
It started when maids swiftly funneled into your room and started packing up your belongings; then those maids plus additional servants hurried you into an unfamiliar carriage, ushering you in. You found yourself sitting across from Kaeya Alberich, a man you had only exchanged a few polite words with in your entire life. He was grinning from ear to ear.
When you tried to open the door, it wouldn’t budge. Anxiety rose in your chest as Kaeya watched you struggle with a satisfied smile. That was when you had started to panic. No matter how much you insistently pressed the man for answers, he danced around your questions and was unmoved by the nervous waiver in your voice, saying that a surprise was waiting for you at the end of the carriage ride. He never spoke a sentence that gave you a clue as to where you were going.
You peeked out of the window after seeing the carriage pass through a large gate and were met with the impressive sight of Ragnvindr Manor. Kaeya, who had remained irritatingly calm for the entirety of the ride, languidly got up from his seat across from you and reached for the previously locked handle. You heard a click from the outside. He pushed down. With a sly smile, he turned to you and gestured to the now open door.
You couldn’t help the resentful glare that settled in your features at the borderline mocking gesture. After shooting him a dirty look, you hesitantly stepped out of the carriage. You jumped when you felt Kaeya’s hand settle on your lower back, who seemed amused by your startled reaction. He grinned down at you; that and his arm around your waist was anything but comforting, as the weight felt like it was trapping you, shackling you from running away.
You were ushered through the large, yawning doorway and led into the dim front hall. You stared in awe at the luxurious wood interior that was bathed in a warm glow from the candlelight reflecting, flickering off the high walls and shadowed ceiling. Your mind was momentarily distracted from the anxiety thrumming in your chest, with Kaeya’s hand still resting lightly on your back as he pushed you forward.
He led you through the initial archways and up the stairs, his pace annoyingly (and yet eerily) slow, which you were forced to match. He stopped in front of a door that blended in with the rest of the dark wood that was characteristic of the architecture. There was nothing special about it. It only made you more nervous.
“Well,” Kaeya finally spoke, voice smooth and suave as it always was. “This is it.”
As you processed that you had basically just let a stranger pull you into someone else’s house and isolate you from any form of safety, your frazzled feelings formed a heavy weight in your chest, a raging combination of panic and fear.
“What’s going on?” You asked. “Why am I here?”
His grip curved against the side of your waist and tightened, keen on not letting you bolt.
You were seconds away from running into the maze of hallways and hoping you could find your out when Kaeya gingerly knocked on the door. He shot you a glance, seemingly reading your thoughts as his other hand, the hand tensely holding your waist, idly played with the fabric underneath his fingers. His demeanor was infuriatingly casual as you stressed over every decision that could have possibly led you here. Despite his feckless expression, you felt that he understood the weight of what he was doing. He wasn’t oblivious to your fear or your anxiety, and there was a serious expression in his eyes that looked like determination. Whatever he brought you here for, he was planning to see it through, unmoving and stubborn.
You wondered what could make a man such as Kaeya, who had always seemed so removed from any conflict in society, so motivated. You wondered what role you had in him achieving his goal.
The door opened, revealing a very surprised Diluc, dressed down more than you had every seen him. His usual heavy outer coat had been removed, leaving him in a white undershirt and vest. Long crimson hair was thrown up in a high ponytail. The candlelight from inside the room reflected off of it, making a shining halo form around his head. From what you could tell, he was in the middle of getting ready for bed, with a few stray buttons undone at the top of his shirt. You felt your face heat up at the sight.
“Kaeya? What….”
His gaze first landed on his brother, sending him a confused look, before it landed on you and stayed, a wide eyed stare that told you he was not expecting your visit. You squirmed awkwardly under his stare, too bewildered by the situation to say a proper greeting. You pressed down the urge to cover your now burning face with a hand as you were pinned under both his and Kaeya’s full attention.
“Diluc,” Kaeya spoke, unbothered by the obvious tension in the air. He fully encircled his arm around your side, a happy smile forming on his face. He pulled you towards him. Stumbling gracelessly, you were pulled closer into Kaeya and the doorway where Diluc stood stiffly, still staring at you.
“An early birthday gift.”
….What? You felt a cold dread immediately begin to pool in your stomach, the words freezing and repeating in your head. You had been nervous before, but now your body was going into survival mode as fear took over. What the hell was he talking about?
Your mind ran at the implication. You were a person. Not an item to be passed around. Was this some kind of sick revenge for rejecting someone so much higher than you in status and power? Was your family in on it? Were you suppose to be some kind of offering for Diluc?
You nearly flinched when you heard Diluc make an affronted and angry noise in response, almost something like a growl, as he glared at his brother with burning red eyes.
After that, you found yourself sitting on a plush couch inside of what could only be Diluc’s chambers. Across the room, Diluc and Kaeya spoke in harsh whispers, sparing furtive glances towards you every few seconds. You pointedly tried not to look at the very large four post bed in the middle of the room, feeling much too awkward and uncomfortable in what was obviously the personal room of a man you were not married to. The taboos of society all began to rise to the forefront of your mind, and you realized how inappropriate this all was; if it got out, there would be a terrible scandal, and your family would drag you through the mud for dirtying the reputation of both theirs and the Ragnvindr names.
Your damp hands clamped down on the fabric of your clothes, clenching into tense fists as the only other people in the room left you to stew in your anxiety.
Suddenly, there was a shout.
You nearly jumped five feet into the air. You had to tense every muscle in your body to keep yourself from rising off the small couch, though you could not stop your head whipping around to the source of the noise. You heart rate, after finally calming down, sped up again as the dread in your stomach churned. You had a bad feeling that this odd situation was coming to its climax.
The sound had came from Diluc. In Kaeya’s hand was an outstretched piece of paper, too far away for you to make out whatever was written on it. Diluc swiftly took the sheet from Kaeya, scanning over it with wide eyes.
“We’re….?” Diluc breathed, suddenly looking at you with wide eyes and flushed cheeks, his lips parted in surprise.
“Officially.” Kaeya said, a laugh in his merry voice, clearly amused by Diluc’s reverent expression. The calvary captain titled his head towards you, his eyes barely glancing your way, signaling to Diluc to go over to you. Your chest tightened.
Diluc looked at Kaeya, then turned fully to face you, taking slow steps as if approaching a startled animal. He walked over to you, expression nervous, seeming almost shy as he came to stand in front of the couch you sat on. He looked down at you from above, not speaking. Opening his mouth, then closing it, he balled his fist onto his knees as lowered himself down to sit beside you.
He was close. Too close. To close to be normal, for two people who were in such an odd situation. You were paralyzed by dread and didn’t try to move away from the startling, sudden heat that came with Diluc sitting next to you.
He looked away from you, his head facing the ground in front of you, then turned his body to angle himself towards you. For a moment, he stared ahead, right past the edge of the sofa. He opened his mouth to speak and a breathy, light voice came out, so different from his usual deep timber.
“Your family….,” He started. Your heart stopped. “has agreed for us to be wed without a ceremony. My brother,” he shot Kaeya an accusing look, turning away for a second before returning his gaze to the ground at your feet, “has taken it upon himself to take care of the all the details and bring you here. I’m sure you weren’t aware of this, and this all must be very confusing, but we are now legally…..” He stopped on the last word, finally looking up into your eyes, his own burning with a passion so bright it scared you.
You could do nothing but stare in horror as he opened his mouth and tied you to him forever.
“Married.” Ah. There it was. His usual voice, deep and pleasant. He grabbed your clenched hand, gently but insistently pressing it open and laying his much larger palm flat atop your own before intertwining his fingers with yours. Your joined hands rested atop your knee, which is where Diluc’s gaze stayed, entranced by the point of contact between his skin and yours.
In any other situation, the action would’ve been incredibly romantic and sweet; a tender moment that would’ve set your weak heart aflame and stirred butterflies in your stomach. Your crush, holding your hand, looking at you with all the adoration in the world? It sounded like a dream. Yet, this was possibly the worst situation you had ever found yourself in; dragged to the house of someone you barely knew and finding them infatuated with you. Knowing that you’d been given to them like a wrapped gift.
He had confirmed all your fears. You knew that your family had gone behind your back and lied to you, betrayed you, despite how much you had insisted that you not be engaged to Diluc. It would be too painful when he eventually, inevitably broke it off to marry someone else. Your romantic feelings for him were only the beginnings of a fervent admiration. Still, you knew it would come to nothing, and that your feelings could not change the nature of the world. The two of you lived in different worlds, different circles, and he had better marriage prospects from people that could give him more than you ever could: power, wealth, and all the things that you would always have to look at but never be able to touch.
The emotions you were seeing in his eyes when he stared into yours could never be described as a shallow admiration. No, now you wish you had discouraged being engaged to him for a different reason; his feelings went far beyond the bounds of admiration. They burned in his eyes; they burned you with their intensity.
You had seen a side of Diluc today that scared you. You knew your simple crush couldn’t hold a candle to his raging inferno, something wild and uncontrollable. It would consume you. You now knew that he would consume you, if you allowed him to.
It must’ve shown on your face. The confusion, the bewilderment, one of the many emotions you were feeling must’ve seeped into your expression.
Diluc began to attempt to comfort you. His hand slipped onto your face, shocking you out of your raging thoughts and back to the present as his eyes scanned over you. He looked like he was savoring touching you, perhaps happy to finally have you in his arms, under his hands, after so much longing. (How much longing? How long did his feelings go unnoticed by you?)
“You need not worry, dearest. I’ll take care of you and treat you well. I’ll be a proper husband to you and more, I swear it. You have my word.” A man once nervous and flustered was now scarily serious as he spoke, maintaining eye contact as his binding words promised you a lifetime by his side.
Diluc leaned into you, his hand still pressed to your face as he glanced down at your lips, his own parting. You saw his tongue dart out to wet them, too distracted by the movement to see that his gaze now rested on only your lips.
“I will try each and every day to make you love me as much as I love you.” He spoke softly.
You gasped as Diluc pressed his lips against yours much more harshly than you were expecting him to, and he chased after you as you leaned back into the couch.
—————————
As shocking as it was to find out, you couldn’t do much to ignore Diluc’s now obvious feelings for you. With his words, he ruthlessly broke down every mental barrier you had put up to convince yourself this was all just a bad dream. He loved you, he told you. He was going to protect you, he vowed. He was going to give you everything your heart could ever desire.
The words were meant to bring you comfort, and you had never felt more terrified in your life.
You could feel his hands wandering over your body, curiously mapping out every dip and crevice like they had been waiting for the chance to touch you. Diluc curved his body over yours, hovering above you, not quite on top, not quite upright, just crowding into your space as if he could only breathe the air near you. You winced as you felt his teeth latch onto your lower lip and pull, a soft groan escaping from his chest as he took in the sight of you; you could only imagine what you looked like right now, and the thought that Diluc was looking at you, admiring you like this, made your face burn and your body tremble. Unwillingly, a fire lit in your stomach.
And then, a raspy and low laugh brought you out of your thoughts.
"Looks like their mind is wandering, 'Luc."
Your eyes immediately flew to the owner of the voice, who was standing against the doorway with his arms crossed, an amused smirk painted on his lips. He was watching Diluc fervently push his lips to your neck, face, lips, with the same affection and bemusement one would have after getting pushed into the snow by a sibling. His look of ease, and slight surprise, betrayed no discomfort toward the sight in front of him.
You distantly thought that these two brothers had a lot more love for each other than what they let on.
After all, Kaeya was the one who had paved the path to you being in Diluc’s ever tightening embrace. Kaeya was the one who brought you here and practically threw you into Diluc's arms. From what you could guess, and from what you knew about Kaeya, he had most likely learned of Diluc’s puppy love and had seen no problem with pulling a few strings to help his brother along with his “courting.”
Never mind the fact that you had already said no; you had rejected Diluc months before. The proposal had came as a big surprise, especially when Diluc requested a private audience and asked for your hand in person. And still, you rejected him. At the time, you thought that if he wasn’t already engaged to someone other than you, someone who met his status, he would be soon, and you weren’t going to risk being the fiancé of a man who belonged to someone else; you were protecting yourself from the inevitable heartbreak that would come with letting Diluc court you. And what were you meant to do when he was forced, or worse, willingly began to court someone else? Pine after him from the sidelines, hopelessly adoring and praying he’ll come back? The thought was comical. Laughable.
Kaeya, however, clearly didn’t seem to think so.
If you knew that Kaeya had been plotting to serve you to Diluc on a silver platter, he would’ve dragged you here kicking and screaming. And if you could get past what a conniving and manipulative bastard he was, you would think it was sweet and endearing that he would do so much for his estranged brother, if only to make him happy. Even if it was at your expense.
And to make matters worse, it had been incredibly easy for him to trap you under his palm; you had pieced together how he managed to pull it off fairly quickly.
When Kaeya had visited your family’s estate under the guise of delivering a marriage proposal on behalf of the Ragnvindr household, your family had signed you over without a second thought. Even if they had taken the time to think about the fact that Diluc and Kaeya were rumored to never talk or even exchange pleasantries with one another, that they constantly acted like they were strangers, that it was incredibly odd that Kaeya, of all the people Diluc could have asked, would be delivering the news, it was still too much to ask for them to bat an eye at the proposal.
You weren’t naive; your family wasn’t keen to hang on to you. The only reason you hadn’t been married off already was because of how strongly you had batted your eyes and schemed your way out of wedlock. But now? They wouldn’t dare reject Diluc’s proposal after they found out about it, even if they had noticed every glaring red flag that came along with it. Any suspicion they may have felt was swiftly overcome by Kaeya’s relentless charm and the naturally powerful influence of the Ragnvindr name.
You were doomed the moment Diluc proposed.
You were doomed the moment Kaeya found out you had rejected his brother.
You had practically been held captive inside the manor since you had arrived a few hours ago, and Diluc didn’t seem keen on letting you out of his sight.
Kaeya, who had walked close enough to relax against the post at the end of the bed, leaned towards you and smiled.
"Oh, don’t give me that look. I wasn’t originally planning on taking you here,” he smiled at you like he was sharing a joke, the corner of his eye crinkling with mirth. “I only found out just recently about Diluc’s little infatuation with you. And here I always thought my dear brother would end up with someone like Jean. You were quite the surprise, you know?”
You resisted the urge to throw the nearest object at his handsome face after that comment.
That was who Diluc was meant to be engaged to right now, if the rumors of their long awaited marriage finally being planned held any truth to them. It would be a good marriage; a classic case of childhood friends to lovers, and their personalities fit well together, their friendship naturally wholesome. And most importantly, Jean held one of the most influential positions anyone could have; she was above many and bowed to few. Her status matched Diluc’s; her mere existence made the chance of your betrothal to the young Ragnvindr heir practically nonexistent. It was a key contributing factor in you giving up on confessing your feelings for Diluc.
You had assumed that he had Jean and could never reciprocate what you felt for him. How wrong you were.
A hysterical laugh bubbled up into your throat, one that you pressed back into your chest before it could escape. Kaeya wasn't that far off the mark; Diluc was practically destined to be with Jean. If you were a little bit more romantic, you would even call them star-crossed lovers.
So why were you here now, helplessly holding on to the back of the man’s waist coat while he suckled and bruised your neck to no end?
You gasped as Diluc seemed to get a little bolder at the sound of his brother’s voice, feeling his teeth nip harshly against your skin as he finally pulled away. You could see that his lips were kiss-swollen from his efforts, full and pink, something that unfairly added to his already devastating good looks, which were only enhanced by the glow of the candlelight. He angled his face away from you to look at his brother, something akin to jealously swirling in his eyes.
“Kaeya,” he warned, a growl in his voice. Kaeya chuckled and shook his head before holding his hands up in surrender.
“Alright, alright. I’ll leave the two lovebirds alone.”
He shot you one last wink before he sauntered towards the door, opening it before pausing with his hand on the handle. You watched him lean back to make eye contact with the red haired man on top of you, a smirk spreading across his lips:
“Oh, and Diluc?” He cooed.
“Be gentle.”

Can I make a request for a chubby/thick! Reader xgenshin men?Alot of artists don't have much of this factor when it comes to writing for genshin so could you please take it into consideration?Thank you!!
yo i’m not even taking requests rn but i wanted to answer this one bc this is so valid?? And YES, chubby/thick!readers are SORELY underrepresented in most fandoms, sadly. all of our bodies are beautiful and should be celebrated and adored! i hope i did an okay job and didn't write anything unintentionally insensitive (if i did, lmk kindly, please). ♡
Tumblr media
*ੈ♡⋆ pairings — diluc, itto, kaeya, thoma, tighnari, zhongli (separate) x gn!chubby/thick!reader
*ੈ♡⋆ warnings — nsfw. mdni.
Tumblr media
*ੈ♡⋆ diluc — idk why but I get the impression that diluc has a slight preference for a thick lover? like, he would def prefer someone with extra meat on their bones. he likes biting the fat of your inner thighs, leaving a trail of spit all the way to your juicy sex before sucking you into his hot mouth.
*ੈ♡⋆ itto — i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: this oni LOVES a thick lover! he NEEDS something to grab onto when he’s plowing into you from behind like a demon in heat. and he has to keep looking away from your ass bc watching it ripple with every impact of his hips nearly has him filling you up with his oni seed.
*ੈ♡⋆ kaeya — kaeya is (among other things) a body worshipper fight me. feeling the plush of your thighs squeezing his hips as he rocks them into your core will have him muttering sweet praises in your ear about how much harder his cock is getting bc your soft thighs are riding his.
*ੈ♡⋆ thoma — sweet, sweet thoma is so loving and respectful. he loves to hear you praise him for his cooking skills, but loves hearing you whine his name while he's filling you up with his cock even more. he thinks your tummy is so cute, especially as it rubs against his when he's got your knees bent over his arms and he's splitting you open around his pretty dick.
*ੈ♡⋆ tighnari — idk why but i get the feeling nari loves to fuck those luscious thighs of yours until your skin is slick with his pre and he's biting his lip to fight back his whiny moans. then, just before he cums, he pushes his cock inside you and fucks you with shallow, stuttering thrusts as his warm cum floods your hole. you haven't even gotten to cum yet but before you can huff in frustration, nari buries himself balls deep and fucks you properly. don't worry, your needy fox boy won't be done with you anytime soon.
*ੈ♡⋆ zhongli — this mangod is so fucking refined in his tastes that he sees the true beauty beyond the surface of everything, from inanimate stones to living creatures. he has seen and loved all body types bc it's the quality of a person's character that he finds most attractive. so when he's pumping his thick geo cock in and out of your walls, he's making love to every part of you. he's kissing every dimple, grabbing every fold, and leaving his marks along your plump thighs bc every inch of your exquisite body is just as much a part of you as your rich mind, heart, and soul.
