Job application: do you have a reliable mode of transportation?
Me: *flashbacks to when I walked through a blizzard to the bus stop to get to my college class* yes :)
Tbh i don’t really understand what that question means? Like if you’re asking if I have a car the answer is no because I can’t drive (and even if I could drive owning a car is too expensive). And honestly I’ve walked through horrible weather to my current job (a mile from my house) and ended up being the only one who’s shown up because “the weather is too bad to drive in”. This question should be eliminated from job applications because it makes no sense.(plus I’m sick of having to hide from potential employers that I don’t have a car because the bus is “not a reliable source of transportation”). 😑

I don't like when people try to posthumously diagnose people (or hell, sometimes even living people!) based on shallow conjectures and stereotypes and passing it as "autism positivity" or whatever.
Look, I'm not opposed to speculating whether a historical figure was autistic or had ADHD or was neurodivergent in any shape or form, but there should be evidence deeper than just "they didn't have many friends" or "they were science geniuses".
First of all, introversion or social isolation isn't exclusive to autism, and there are many sociological or emotional reasons someone could have chosen to isolate. Not to mention, there are plenty of extroverted, social autistic people. Being reserved isn't an inherently autistic trait!
Secondly, I hate this association that if someone was a prodigy on a STEM field it must mean they were autistic. That's some Hollywoodesque stereotyping. Being a scientist isn't an autistic trait! Plenty of non-autistic people are very intelligent and are successful in STEM!
Purely anecdotical evidence here, but in my experience, I never met any "autistic maths genius" but I met many autistic people who struggled with maths/STEM subjects (including me). Not saying autistic geniuses don't exist! Just saying it's not nearly as prevalent as people think it is.
Ah, and also, if a person of the past was a "little strange" doesn't mean the person was autistic. I know autistic people who have the most "normal" interests you could imagine. I know non-autistic people who are extremely odd. They're not really related! ... personally I'm both but it's not 'cause I'm autistic, I swear.

if you’ve never asked a co-worker if they hate you, are you truly autistic?

Maybe this is why I can’t stand Wednesday. People love her and dress up as her but when I live my life as her I can’t get employment and ruin all romantic relationships. The normal people can play act as neurodivergent then go back to being normal.

I’m not going into huge detail on this but I think I should make friends within the autism/disabled community because all I seem to be finding when I go into regular communities is people who bully and make me feel bad about myself and fake people too. Making friends is hard 😓

When I'm age regressing I want to make me a cozy play room with toys and coloring books and crayons and coloring pens and blankets and pillows and twinkle star lights. And a giant kiddie pool filled with soft toys and colorful plastic Easter eggs I can just relax in, you know?

DP HC - Neurodivergent Fentons
I have a theory that every Fenton in the show is neurodivergent to some degree. I believe that Jack & Maddie are both in ways that give them object permanence issues, Jack specifically having a form of possibly severe ADHD.
I actually agree with @modordracena in that all but Danny & Ellie have some form of autism. If I were to choose one, I'd say Jack, Maddie, & Jazz have varying severities of aspergers.
Though, Jazz, & possibly Maddie, might also be OCD. Jazz likely having a more severe case.
I'm not sure if I agree that Danny has ADHD though... If he does, it's far less severe than his father.
I remember someone mentioning that they think Jack has dyslexia, dyscalculia, & dysgraphia as well & think that's possible. As such, I think it's possible that Danny also has dyslexia & possibly dyscalculia. Though, I'm not sure about dysgraphia. I mean, he seemed to do well with Lancer's test when he studied, so I think that I'd need more evidence to think he has dysgraphia.
I would like to see what others can think of for the family.

Is Asperger’s Problematic? (rant)
okay i see so many people arguing about using the word Aspergers to refer to an autistic person sooo here are my thoughts
obviously the Aspergers diagnosis is defunct now, but if an autistic person sees *themself* as adhering to the diagnosis thats honestly fine. especially if they were diagnosed with Aspergers (pre-removal from DSM). remember, Aspergers was only removed from being a diagnosis in 2015. that means there are many autistic people out there who were previously diagnosed with Aspergers, and thats okay! theres nothing actually wrong with saying you have Aspergers.
by the way, im talking about the medical diagnosis of Aspergers being bad. yes, Hans Asperger was a nazi/ableist. however, thats not the main reason of the diagnosis becoming defunct. thats a part of it, but its mainly for the reason that diagnosis was based on a male model and the criteria were way too specific/exclusionary of some autistic people
autism wasnt always considered a spectrum. it was first thought to be a type of schizophrenia or a type of childhood schizoid personality disorder. “classic autism” was used to refer to autistic people that fit the mold of “low functioning”. eventually, after much research, Aspergers was added, but because it represents a very specific (usually male) type of autistic person, it was revoked because too many people (especially women) were being underdiagnosed
anyway thats all i have to say. and im a autistic girl so trust me, i know what im talking about. i went undiagnosed for a long time (until last year!) despite exhibiting many symptoms of autism, which caused a Lot of distress and problems in my life. my point is the underdiagnosis of and ignorance surrounding autism in girls is definitely a problem that needs to be addressed
also i recommend reading about then history of autism and research, its pretty interesting.
peace and love x
p.s. a Jewish woman named Grunya Sukhareva, a scientist from the Soviet Union, was defining autism in a way that aligned with our current DSM-5 description of ASD… and she was doing it all the way back in 1926! thats a little womens history fun fact :)
