He's such a home slice home bread

Like you'll be chilling when all of a sudden he spits the worst pun you've ever heard, it'll leave you in tears and on the floor sobbing when he tries to explain it on a quantum level.

You'll probably be a forest watcher, traveler or part of the Akademiya to see him in work mode, in which he's less funny but will probably turn to you after absolutely wholloping some guys and make a dumbass pun. Cue Tighnari's pun senses tingling and he cringes in pain and sympathy to whoever has heard it.

Cyno's extremely caring though, and although he may not show it outwardly at work it's the little things when he's in work mode that show it.

He gives you tips and explanations of things you may not understand constantly, so the next time you'll be prepared, mainly in the desert.

Brings extra water and makes sure you're hydrated, even if you're from the desert and know it well, he also makes sure to give breaks if you're beginning to slow down. Especially if you're the type of person to pretend your fine when you're not.

Will 100% bring you to meet Tighnari and Collei if you haven't already, he has high respect for them and wants a wider audience for his jokes.

He greatly respects your decisions and opinions, however, Cyno tends to state this matter of factly and won't sugar coat. If he has any issues he won't be afraid to say it outright.

Romantic

Imagine as friends but more outwardly affectionate. He's not gonna snuggle up to you and do intense pda or anything, it's more lovingly staring and smiling when it's just you two or when it's with close friends.

Makes puns about and with you, no matter how you crumble in pain when he does, you will probably burst out laughing because it's him.

He's very sweet in a relationship, and although he works a lot, he does try taking more breaks so he can make sure you're okay. However, work is important to him and he won't take long time off, you shouldn't expect him to drop everything for you as much as he'd like to.

Tends to check for injuries whenever you come home if you're an adventurer or anything like that, may accidently treat you like a colleague during this, but it shows he cares a lot.

Makes little snacks and lunches when you go away if you work, or just if you tend to forget to eat when he's away. They can be tasteless and somewhat disgusting depending on what you like, but he's so used to them on missions he tends to not realise and so relies on your opinion from previous lunches he's made.

Would love you to make lunches and snacks for him, especially since he typically has the not so nice lunches and snacks mentioned before. Even if you can't cook, a piece of goddamn lettuce would have him gently smiling on missions while munching away.

Kaeya

Regardless on whether you do or don't drink or are too young, he likes bringing you to the tavern since he spends a lot of time off work there, and you'll probably become friends with Venti and Rosaria as a result since they're his drinking buddies.

If you have a sibling, I imagine Kaeya would judge them on if he likes them or not, and especially if the relationship is strained like him and Diluc. Speaking of, I think it'd be funny if he gets you in on pranks or little jokes with him.

If you're older and comfterable with it, he'll playfully and jokingly flrit with you, stopping if he reconsises that it may be going too far.

He teases you non romantically regardless, making fun of you while you roll your eyes and sigh in annoyance. Kaeya thinks it's funny to poke your face when you're busy or to gently yank on your hair if you won't pay him attention.

Nahh he 100% does that dumb thing where he's like 'we need to talk' with a serious face and somber actions then starts ranting about how Diluc removed his favourite wine.

Romantic

Teasing? Teasing.

Honestly, I imagine him to be someone that gets all flirty but the second someone returns that energy he's pausing his sentence and blushing. Kaeya will recover easily, but don't think his blush still isn't visible.

He likes playing with your hair if you have any, it's something sweet and small, a gentle activity at the end of the day for you both to destress. Will lay in bed while telling you of work and how he annoyed Diluc with paying some of Venti's tab. And he does it to get attention sometimes, whenever you're working or talking to somebody else he'll annoy you because he loves you.

I imagine he'd like you to not work, he's perfectly fine with you working though, Kaeya just really likes someone to come home to and to spend his free time with. That or you being a part of the knights. He will be a bit sad if you're too busy with work and they overlap with his free time, but he respects you and he doesn't want to push you to quit.

Disagree all you want, Kaeya likes biting, not always in the thats what she said way, just a lil nibble on the cheek or shoulder and he's happy for a minute before he wants to do it again. Never too hard and if you don't like it, he's chill. Overjoyed if you really like it and will do it back, he 100% will do it in the that's what she said way if you like that however.

Itto

Platonic

This fool, this blundering baffoon. If you become part of his gang, you'll either be in prison with him awkwardly waiting for Shinobu, or bailing him from prison with Shinobu like five times a every week.

Will pat you on the back with the force of a thousand sun's, you literally nearly die one time because he's unaware of his strength.

Since Itto doesn't seem like he'd warn you beforehand, imagine if you bring beans somewhere and he just starts being over dramatic. Playing up how you totally tried to kill him, after all the jokes over though he will probably beg you to get rid of them.

Forgets his strength and sometimes picks you up like a cat, may accidently trample over you if you're smaller.

BEETLE BATTLES it'd be so fucking cool, if you beat him, dude acts like his pride is SHATTERED. Although I think he might not actually care too much, especially if you're younger because he wants to hype you up.

He's a gentlemen even if he has the brain of a spoon, will help you with whatever chores you need to do or any heavy lifting tasks you can't complete.

Romantic

Now I don't mean this in the ykyk way, but he's so fucking large, like he could probably pick you up over his shoulder regardless of you weight, height or how muscley you are. Since he's a fuckin oni.

I think oni live longer than humans, in which case, SAD FUCKING TIMES. He realises this after joking you'll stay with him for hundreds of years, and you sort of blink awkwardly. Not wanting to say it before he figures it out.

He then goes on a quest to find a way for you to live longer, he even begs the shogun at some point, one of his lowest of lows in his opinion.

This guy hates leaving your side, and if he has to I imagine he'd be your personal bodyguard, regardless on how strong you are or what battles you've faced. To him you're a fragile human and he doesn't want to lose you.

This man cannot cook for his life, you have to do the food and probably work if you want stable money given he usually pranks people all day with his gang. however, he will clean and get his members to help out if it becomes too taxing.

𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞.

featuring: itto x gn!reader

synopsis: you start working at a new flower shop and love it more than you should

✎ eve’s notes: so...i've never really done a fanfic that's in this style, as in, it's like a story. i usually do bullet points and drabbles but not this time! so hopefully it's decent lmao. btw i probably have some grammatical errors-

you peered at yourself in the slightly dirty glass of the flower shop one last time, making sure that you looked good. the flower shop was quite popular, and was owned by a friendly young man. he was really kind during the interview when you applied, so you weren't too nervous. you smoothed your skirt down, and with a deep breath, you pushed open the door to the shop.

you’d been there many times, but still, it never failed to amaze you in how magical it looked. stained-glass windows lined the walls, casting rainbows on the many plants on shelves everywhere. butterfly cutouts hung from the ceiling, along with flowering vines. it was like a fairy oasis. “hey, you must be [name]!” you heard a cheerful and loud voice exclaim. your eyes were met with a tall, muscular man with long, fluffy grey-white hair tied back. he wore a colourful apron with a bunch of pins and a name tag that read, “itto!” with a smiley face. you smiled.

“yup! that’s me.”

“great! so, come with me and i’ll get you set up.”

you followed your superior, and he handed you an identical apron and explained what you had to do. your main job was cashier, but you’d also have to water some of the plants and put some sprouts into planters. easy enough!

throughout the day, itto and you worked amazingly well together. you two had fun conversations as you did your work, and itto introduced you to each customer. he knew all of them on a first name basis and what their favourite flowers were. you were amazed at how it seemed as if he was close friends with every single one of them. it was something you’d try to work on throughout your time working at the shop.

itto glanced up from a pile of paperwork he was filling out, seeing you walking out of the store. you’d completed your first shift there, and probably had had the most fun possible on a job.

“oh, [name]! wait up!”

itto walked around the counter and handed you a white rose. “here,” he said with a big smile.

“aw, thanks!” you said, admiring the flower.

“haha, no problem. and, uh, thanks for...actually showing up today.” itto rubbed the back of his neck. “you have no idea how many people i hire that don’t even bother to come to their shifts. it’s hard, managing a whole store on your own, ya know?”

you gave a soft, sympathetic smile. “yeah, must be hard. but i’m always here if you need me to help you with stuff.” and with that, you headed home.

after your amazing first shift, you eagerly accepted every other one that itto asked you to work. unlike it is for most people, work was the highlight of your day. you were surrounded by sweet customers, fragrant flowers, and the best co-worker. speaking of your coworker, itto never failed to give you a flower at the end of your shift. sometimes if you had an extra busy week, he’d throw in some snacks. you thought it was the sweetest thing ever, and always made sure to thank him <3.

eventually, your birthday rolled around. you expected a simple “happy birthday”, but itto surprised you by inviting you to dinner with him! how sweet, right? it was just such a kind gesture.

the thought put butterflies in your stomach and made your face grow warm. you knew that you probably were just going crazy, but still. you put on a fancy outfit, did your hair nice, and then hurried over to the restaurant. you were completely surprised to find itto standing outside, well dressed and a beautiful flower bouquet in hand.

“oh! [name]! i was thinking you wouldn’t show up!” he said with a nervous laugh. “these are for you.” itto handed you a gorgeous bunch of white roses, just like the one he gave you on your first day.

“oh! thank you so much!”

itto smiled, and opened the door to the restaurant for you. “shall we?”

the dinner went better than you imagined! you had a blast talking and laughing with your coworker. when you arrived home, which was quite late at night, you took the flowers out of the wrapping to put into a vase of water.

hm, that’s strange. there’s a note…

“so i did some research, and apparently roses represent love, so i got a bouquet of them since that’s what i feel about you.

you blinked at the words messily written on the small piece of paper, reading them over and over again. it was a dream come true.

silent confessions

synopsis: the genshin men crushing on you and the little ways they show they care.

content: Kaeya/Venti/Alhaitham/ Arataki Itto x gender neutral reader. First time writing for venti so apologies if its a lil off. Fluff. Friends to lovers. Kissing in kaeya's. wingman diluc honestly. Going a lil feral in alhaithams and ittos. Use of nickname dear and cecilia<3 They are all quite long but I hope you all enjoy it! Not completely proofread. Let me know if there are any annoying mistakes!

⁎⁺˳✧༚ Kaeya໒꒱.*

Diluc is sure of three things. One, You're hands down single-handedly keeping the icedtea business alive in Mondstadt, his arms are still hurting from the heavy crates of imported tea from Liyue he has to carry every. Single. Week. Two, you're incredibly oblivious, three, kaeya is a lovesick fool.

Even though diluc has offered to deliver some iced tea crates to your home, it seems that you prefer to drink his stash empty at the bar next to kaeya.

It's making him ill really, seeing the way his brothers eyes keep drifting to your lips and how his hands inch closer to yours, still never really touching. Diluc almost doesn't recognize him. Kaeya is not the type to get flustered easily, if anything, try to make him flustered and it will backfire! but here he is, for hours sitting at the bar head leaning on his hands staring at you like you hung the stars.

You fail to notice how, despite not touching your drink for so long, at one point even dancing around the tavern when the bard played your favorite song, the icecubes in your glass never seem to melt and the tea never gets warm. It's the least he can do, Kaeya would be showing you more grand gestures of love if you didnt make his head fog up with hearts and flowers everytime your near.

"I'm going to use the bathroom, i'll be right back! "You say as you hop of the barstool and make your way to the second floor.

"This, is getting sad you know", diluc speaks as he snatches both yours and Kaeya's glass away, dodging quick enough as Kaeya tries to get it back

"Oh i'm sorry, I didn't know my love life was such an interesting show to you. I'll make sure to tell the writers"

Stupid arrogant oblivious brother of his

He's not gentle as he grabs one of the big pints, pours your favorite iced tea in with the ice cubes and slices of lemon and two straws this time and places it down infront of kaeya.

"I'm doing you a favor icicle"

Kaeya's unable to retort a remark back because you're sitting down next to him again.

"Ooh whats this, luc?" As you stir the tea with your straw, the ice cubes gently clinking against the edges of the glass

"On the house, it's the last"-he throws you a look- bit of icetea I have for tonight. Enjoy." And with that he steps out the backdoor for a break leaving you and kaeya in an almost empty tavern

He's feeling uncharacteristically shy sharing a drink like this. He's not sure he can contain the love confession thats lingering on his lips if you're that close to eachother. You snap him out of his thoughts before he can even try.

"Come on try this with me...its...its quite romantic don't you think" you say, a little timid

Youre killing him. Hes deceased y/n.

"Yeah, didn't- didnt realise Diluc had a romantic bone in him, guess it runs in the family after all"

You're not sure where you got the courage from for what you're about to say

"Maybe, we should do more of these romantic things together."

And just like that, knowing you shared his feelings, he got a bit of his charming wit back.

"My dear y/n- he starts, leaning down closer to you, one icy hand holding yours. Are you asking me out on a date" he wants to revel in making you flustered but he's pretty sure he looks just as flustered as you do.

"Only if you want to, Kaeya"

The way he presses his lips to yours gives you the answer you needed<3

Venti, alhaitham and itto under the cut!

⁎⁺˳✧༚ Venti໒꒱.*

Archons, the summer this time around is way hotter than any summers before. It's scorching outside and if it weren't for your knight of favonius duties, duties you took over for the Cavalry Captain for his day off (>:( ), you would stay inside the cool headquarters, in your little office with the curtains closed.

You really should get going but you're delaying stepping outside. The favonius headquarters is nice and cool and and looking outside you can see the heat radiating from the stone pathways

You're a knight of favonius! A little sunshine isn't going to hurt! You try to hype yourself up as you make it to the entrance. You can do this, who knows, you might even get a tan.

Bracing yourself and pushing the heavy doors open, you're pleasantly surprised at how the wind immediately seems to pick up and twirl and flow around you in cooling circles. Yes, the sun is still beaming down in all his glory, but the breeze definitely helps. You may even get through this without breaking too much of a sweat.

As you're doing your errands and run basically all over Mondstadt, the gentle breeze surrounding you never seems to falter, even now, as you carry heavy crates of sunsettias and apples up the stairs to Good Hunter, it actually seems like the wind has started to pick up, aiding you in its own way.

Sara is more than grateful as you place the crates down in the back for her. "You're a lifesaver y/n, please, go sit down and i'll whip something up for you".

Who are you to deny a break and a free meal?

Before you sit down you take off your sword and place it down next to you so you can completely unwind. It's not until you look back up from your weapon that you see Venti, with the bright smile he always seems to carry, sitting infront of you

"Hi, my sweet cecilia"

Archons, that nickname. You're lucky you can blame the weather on the sudden warmth flowing through your body.

"You're awfully happy for such a hot day, Venti"

He doesn't provide an answer to that, why is he so happy? Because he's with you of course, he's basically been spending the whole day with you, how could he not be happy?

instead of saying that tho he says "the wind is nice, hmm?" And On cue the wind stars to pick up again, now carrying the scent of the meal Sara is cooking up for you and twirling a few flower petals that got caught in it around you You little

"Yeah it is, i'm not sure I would have been able to get through the day without a little breeze in my face" you laugh and it's the sweetest melody he's ever heard.

"I guess the anemo archon has a soft spot for me"

"I suppose he does"

You fail to catch the longing glint in his eyes and the blush covering his cheeks as Sara brings you your meal<3

Oh my dear y/n if only you knew.

⁎⁺˳✧༚ Alhaitham໒꒱.*

It's not until Kaveh points it out, after Alhaitham leaves to pick up another book from the House of Daena library shelves, that you realize it, but it seems that Alhaitham, despite looking like he wants to be anywhere but here, always seems to look out for you.

Like the time he dragged you to the desert to study runes with him, he made sure every time you two stood still for a long time, he'd raise his cape a little above your head, sheltering you from the burning sun

And that one time where he grabbed your arm and pulled you into his side when some drunkards stumbling home almost bumped into you

"Drop your pen when he gets back" kaveh says, breaking you out of your thoughts.

"Drop my-"

"Sshh, just do it" he hushes quickly and goes back to drawing as Alhaitham sits back down next to you with a new book in his hand.

You let Alhaitham read a few more pages before you "accidentally" drop your pen under the table, sliding your seat back and ducking under to retrieve it, when you look back up to avoid hitting your head on the corner of the table, Alhaithams hand is already covering it. His gaze is still as focused as ever on the book infront of him, it's almost like it happened entirely subconsciously, like it was already engraved in his perception to look out for you and that alone made the butterlies in your tummy flutter around. You don't miss the "I told you so" gaze Kaveh throws at you.

Alhaithams book manages to hide the gentle smile he failed to hold back as he guesses from the look on your face and body language that you're onto him, and if he can guess one more time, he'd say the feelings are mutual.

He doesn't say anything but he does reach under you to grab the leg of your chair and pull you closer to him, arm draped behind you over the backrest, gently drawing shapes on your shoulder as he continues to read his book

*Did ya'll see that one nick jonas clip where he pulls her chair closer? Yeah? Thats alhaitham.

⁎⁺˳✧༚ Arataki Itto໒꒱.*

The locals of Inazuma are used to the never ending thundering and lightning. Even on clear days, it seems like you can always hear it lurking in the distance, dancing over the seas. Unfortunately for you, you’re not a local and despite having been here for a while, long enough to develop strong friendships and perhaps a little crush <3 the loud claps of thunder and the lightning that cracks open the clouds still make you flinch

You were embarrassed about it, so you never voiced it out to your friends. You would just try to hide your flinches and do your best to block out the noise. You're not doing that very well unfortunately. Itto has noticed, and boy does it make his heart hurt a little every time he catches you trying to hide it. You're part of the gang! Whether you know that or not, you're supposed to be able to tell him these things! but he understands, you seem to think that you're going to look weak in front of Arataki numero uno claymore swinging devil beatbox and beetle fighting legend Itto. He made me write this really You could never considering he gets weak in the knees everytime you make eye contact or touch his horns

So as the leader of your gang, your best friend and hopefully future boyfriend, he’s gonna help you because If there's one thing Itto is good at its being loud. It’s quite hard to hear the thunder lurking in the background when Itto's boisterous laugh as he’s "winning" a game of TCG seems to overpower everything, including the way your heart beats a little faster when he smiles at you.

You didn’t notice what he was doing until there was a summer storm forecasted. You didn't even have time to mentally prepare yourself for it before there was a harsh knocking at your door, maybe a bit to hard itto pls dont break the door

"Open up sunshine, I have some snacks :D"

He’s quick to make himself comfortable as you let him in, throwing the impressive amount of snacks and some card games on the coffee table and then taking up half the space on the couch, being careful to not knock the lamp on the sidetable down with his horns.

"Not that I mind Itto, but i didn't expect you to come over. Any reasons?"

"Yeah you're"- he cuts himself off. You never told him about your fear of thunder, would it upset you if you knew he figured it out?, archons he didnt think of an excuse what should he say, where is Kuki in times like this

"Yeah, I just thought i’d keep you some company because I AM afraid of summerstorms, yup, totally terrifying, so scary,so here i am."

Even he knows it's not believable. Especially since he has directed some...colorful words with the shogun before (not in her presence)

: ̗̀➛ If horses were still a thing in Mondtadt, he would've loved to take you horse riding in Whispering forest and near the shore lines of Windrise. You could have your own horse to ride on but he would like it much better if you rode with him instead - he wants to feel your arms around his waist and your face leaning on his shoulder - to keep you safe incase of any random ambush, the cavalry captain has to make sure no harm happens to his significant other otherwise his title would be of no point to have.

: ̗̀➛ There's just some days where he just wants to be genuine with you like showing a smile that goes all the way to his cheeks and to the point where they end up hurting a lot or either it being where he spills out his emotions and feelings little by little. It's not a lot but it's a sign to show that he trusts and loves you a lot to let you know these little secrets of his that he doesn't tell anyone.

: ̗̀➛ Whenever the grapes are ready to be plucked from thier vines for wine making, you convince him to let you join even though in reality he would never decline you of helping as long as there's nothing that can harm you. Adelinde and Elzer will also be out giving a hand so if you feel like going back inside just give them a heads up, they'll also throw you a warm bath if you want one too.

: ̗̀➛ His body suddenly feels warmer knowing that you tend to wait for him at the front doors of the mansion whenever he's out doing his duty to protect Mondstadt at night. He doesn't wish for you to stay up really late at night knowing how long you've been waiting and that you should've gone to bed without him but it generally warms him up how you have chosen yourself to patiently wait for him to come back to know that he's at least okay.

: ̗̀➛ Taking notes of his observations - studies of abyssal mobs, primordial Albedo, Durin, the traveller, the known and the unknown - hung up on the boards in his lab all soon to be the known if he can solve them. You find his viewings and studies engrossing. If you find them interesting then he wouldn't mind to tell you about them and what he had conjered up so far. Doing this also starts to have an effect on him, he now feels a warm sensation inside knowing that his significant other loves to hear him chat on about his studies, more different to when he tells them to Sucrose or Timaeus.

: ̗̀➛ Due to his habbits of staying up at the latest of times to continue with his work, you would have some candy prepared in a small box and gift it to him before leaving his lab. He stated it himself at the start of the relationship that they help to give him an energy boost for when he feels like he’s starting to go off track so he’s very thankful and happy that you have gifted these to him.

: ̗̀➛ Helping him with babysitting Tucer if he ever comes for a visit in Liyue. He feels bad that he has to dump his responsibility of his brother on to you for some time but he wants to keep his real job a secret from him, at least when he's older enough to understand this he'll stop doing this but at the end of the day it does come with a reward for compensation of having you babysit such as having late night talks, hugs, kisses, cuddles or dinner. He even slips out a little apology his actions.

: ̗̀➛ If you're good at weapons, mainly the bow, he'd be pleading you to help him and to teach some techniques of yours to help him really master the art of the bow. You'd help him with his posture and aiming, doing the thing where your hands are over his and guiding his arms to a better position to get a more precise shot of the training dummy in front of you two.

: ̗̀➛ Gives you some of Liyue's specialities, more so of the Cor Lapis. Whenever he gifts them to you on a date or on any special occasion, he likes to tell you the backstory about that speciality and give little facts. You simply shake your head at such idiocy, but then again you can understand, repair shops are unbelievably expensive and half the time it gets even more broken. But your action seems to have caught the man’s attention, gawking he turns to his friends, “THEYRE SO HOT.”

From that day forward he constantly visited the shop, goofing around in the store in attempts to get your number.

"So, you like jazz?" He has this odd smirk on his face, almost as if that was his attempt to finesse you.

"Yes."

"Ah. You were supposed to say no."

"Sorry?"

Soon, Itto (his name, he had written it on a piece of paper and whilst paying for his newest purchase slipped it in) started being able to spot you on campus, following you around like a lost puppy. Perhaps you’ll slip in your number next time you give him change.. perhaps.

Kaeya:

To Kaeya you were hot, really fucking hot. Though you were kinda invisible that added to your charm, that or he just had a thing for total losers, he couldn’t tell. And for the most part you weren’t entire invisible, often seeing your name on the first board after grades come out, or even seeing you enrolled in competitions, or he’d see you studying in the library - looking so adorable- writing away at your notes. He thought you were utterly ethereal, and the need to get to know you was insatiable. His friends quite literally needing to hold him down from running up to you and scaring you away. So come to find out lovely ol’ you works at one of his favourite convince place he already had a plan brewing.

You drearily watch the clock, your body feeling as if it's numb. Your hands lazily drawing circles on the counter, starting to regret the fact you decided to work the graveyard shift. The ringing of the store bell waking you from your hazziness, a man dressed nicely came in: blue hair, blue eyes (odd combo, to be completely honest), dressed in what looked like ballroom clothing, his expression of.. smugness? Unyielding.

As you wait to ring him up you take out your phone and start scrolling through it, but soon you here light steps approaching placing your phone back in your pocket and take the items and start scanning. All as you do so the man watches you intently, and little too much.

”Can I help you with something, Sir?"

He raises a brow, "Sir? You don't think I'm that old, do you?!" He cried.

"No, Sir. I'm required to do this."

"So you think I look nice?"

"Sure."

"Would you go out with me?" Was that really his attempt at rizzing you up?

"Please just take your items and leave, Sir." (I'm saving you the embarrassment -and myjob-)

He couldn't stand it, no, he was determined-- he will rizz you up. You have to give him a chance! And so whenever you had a free moment you would see him walk up to you, it’s not that you minded his unbreaking tenacity, it was quite admirable actually.

"Hey!" He ran up to you, waving his hand. He stops in front of you weaving, "Trying to run away from me?"

"No. I’m hungry."

"Ah! The allow me to do the pleasure and buy you lunch."

"If you have money, sure.”

You were oh so happy, free food truly did taste the best. So while he got to know you you got full - and happy - tummy. Maybe you’ll actually let him take you out.

Al Haitham:

See, typically you were fine with customers, but this time you were utterly enthralled by this.. this asshole with a stick up his ass. You’d love to hop over the counter and give him a wack, but you refrain from doing so— he looked rich, and he was buff, you most definitely could not take him in a fight.

"It’s 14.55."

"I’m aware."

"I am in a rush, please let me pay already."

"Im sorry, Sir. I’m required to ring this all up."

"But I already told you, it’s 14.55." His eyes looked a bit agitated, his arms crossed.

"Sir, I am just doing my job."

To be honest, you didn’t really know what was coming out of his mouth after that, nor did you care, you simply nod, most of the “conversation” you looked at his.. uh, breast(s) pocket. You’d never see him again, what’s the harm?

You were wrong, so undeniably, unbelievably, wrong. Exactly 5 hours later you’d see him at the gym, staring at you, approaching you- wait, approaching you?? You look around the room, what do you do? How do you seem like you’re busy? Pull out you pho-?!

"Hey."

"Hello..? Do you need something?"

"Do you need help?"

"No."

"I’m helping you anyway."

And workout buddies you came to be, often meeting him during your workout sessions. You never really needed his help, but with his insistence you agreed. Sometimes even studying together.

"Are you stupid?"

"I think so, I’ve been talking with my doctor lately and-"

"I didn’t mean it literally."

With exams coming up you’ve been seeing each other a lot more, and the study areas have been a lot more.. romantic? Close, cool mood lighting, cold- sometimes even his own house. But then again, maybe it’s just you.

Ayato:

This was absolutely fucking nuts. This guy was decked out— SO BAD. The Ayato Kamisato, one of the richest bachelors was before you, you couldn’t help but be a bad bit taken back. But regardless you tried your best to scan all his odd items.

For a hot bachelor his grocery items were really weird, and so fucking expensive you felt your heart clench.. you’ll need a break after this, maybe even a smoke (you’ve never smoked in your life and if you were to you were pretty sure you’d have an asthma attack).

His gaze wondered you curiously, has you handed him his groceries he smiled, leaving a.. 100$ TIP?? WHAT THE FUCK. WHERE DOES HE GET THIS MONEY? I THOUGHT WE WERE IN A RESCISSION. WHAT. Your eyes were massive, looking back up at him, "Uhm, Sir. I think you misplaced this bill.." as much as you wanted to keep it, you had morals (sadly), holding yourself to high principle.

"Oh, that was no mistake. I appreciate the fact someone like you is working at such an hour. Have a lovely morning." He waved and left.. someone like me? Is that an insult? Does he think I’m poor?

As you pondered what he meant you started seeing him more, and more. Always leaving a massive tip, does god.. love me? Your reactions always brining a smile to his face, and conversations with you always left him with a swelling in his chest, you were awfully funny.

"Here, a tip."

"Am I.. in more debt?" You tilt your head, "Do you want something from me?" Your eyes widen, "Is this perhaps your way of buying me? Is that what rich people do..? That’s what’s I heard.." mumbling the last part you look into the floor, bringing your hand up to fumble with your lip- in deep concentration.

He was so weird, people said he was cool. From what you can tell all he is a weirdo. Who tips this much? Who buys this much weird stuff? Isn’t he rich? Why doesn't he just get someone to get him groceries? Why does he look at you weird? Honestly, if he kept giving you this much money you might as well become his sugar baby (not that you would mind).

cozy sleepless night. | genshin impact

featuring: diluc, xiao, itto, and zhongli

modern au – calling them in the middle of the night cause you couldn’t sleep. (relationship not yet established; mutual feelings for each other)

Diluc

He had been awake when you called. He thought it was Kaeya and was prepared to be mad at him for calling so late until he saw your name as the caller.

“Hello?” Diluc sounded a little unsure, you never called him this late. He’s worried that something happened. “Hi Diluc,” you said softly, and the red-haired man could just feel a little part of him melting away hearing you over the phone. “What’s wrong, you don’t usually call this late, did something happen?” He asked.

“Not really, I just can’t really sleep, am I bothering you?” You hugged a pillow close to your chest, suddenly feeling nervous that you just disturbed him on midnight. Diluc who’s just been up reading a book on his desk only chuckled a little. “Not at all, would you like to talk about something? It might get you sleepy.” Your cheeks grow warm.

“Okay.”

Xiao

He groaned as a response to the call.

“Oh sorry Xiao were you asleep?” You asked, feeling guilty. “Well not anymore,” he said groggily. When you don’t respond he continued, “Do you need something?” His tone wasn’t the gentlest when he said that causing to only let out a little, “Not really.. I just couldn’t sleep, sorry for waking you up I’ll hang up now.”

“Wait. Sorry, I’m fully awake now. Do you need something?” He rubbed his eyes, blinking them a few times chasing the heaviness away. “Not really, I just wanted to hear your voice.” Xiao was caught off guard, his chest skipped a beat. He coughed a little, “The embarrassing things that came out of your mouth sometimes..” At this, you giggled softly—which sounded like a lovely tune the male thought—succeeding in making the usually stoic man flustered. He gained his composure and said,

“Well? Talk then, I’d like to hear your voice too.”

Zhongli

“Hello?” His low, rasp, and buttery voice filled your dimmed room’s silence. How does one man does so much with just his voice?? “Hi Zhongli, were you asleep? You sound wide awake,” you replied with a small voice. “Well, I am usually still up and about at this hour, do you need something perhaps?” He said gently, “No.. I just can’t sleep, and I thought about calling you to see if maybe you’re up to just, talk?” You trailed off, realizing now this was probably a bad idea.

Zhongli was quiet for a second, and you were prepared to just throw your phone until you heard, “Of course, would you like to me to tell you the story of a land called Teyvat?” You smiled a little, the name sounded slightly familiar. “Sure.” You closed your eyes, the sound of his voice lulled you into a nice sleep. As Zhongli went on and realizing the sound of your steady breath was the only thing left on the phone call, he tugged a smile his chest filled with a pleasant warmth.

Itto

Clearly a heavy sleeper, didn’t pick up the phone on the said night, but regretted the way he had slept early when he saw the notification of a missed call from you. Called you the first thing in the morning, waking you up. “Hello?” You sleepily said, for a second there Itto lost his train of thought, thinking how adorable your morning voice was.

“O-oh hi! Sorry for calling so early on the morning, I saw your miss call last night are you okay?” He said worriedly. “Oh, I’m fine don’t worry! It’s just I couldn’t really sleep last night and I wanted to see if you were still awake to talk or something..” With each word your voice got smaller, embarrassed. Itto almost wanted to smack himself in the face for missing such a chance. “My bad!! I’m such a heavy sleeper so I didn’t really hear anything,” Itto frowned, mostly at himself, as he think about that one funny video of someone with an alarm clock that literally will hit you in the face to wake you up.

“It’s totally okay!! I’m just glad now I didn’t disturb your sleep,” you chuckled. “But!! Promise me you’ll call me again if you can’t sleep!! I’ll try to be awake until late at night just incase,” he said energetically. “What if I just call you on regular hour, would that be okay..?” You offered, he’s quiet for a moment basking in happiness.

“More than okay!!!!” Itto grinned.

he probably takes you out casually, inviting you for drinks or something

after you finish having fun, he takes you to a quiet but pretty place, like the docks outside the back gate of Mondstadt

he’s real smooth about it, amping up his charm to try and make you as flustered as possible by dropping suave lines and compliments to see you squirm

he definitely lifts your chin to his face with his finger, smiling genuinely before leaning in real slow for the dramatic effect

his kiss is chaste but full of adoration, hand cupping the back of your head as he pulls you in deeper

After you pull away, he revels in your adorable flustered expression, soaking in every detail of your face as you smile bashfully

he lightly teases you for being embarrassed, but his heart is beating just as fast

you end the night sitting side-by-side on the dock looking at the stars in a comfortable silence while his thumb runs soothingly over your knuckles

you kiss him

he’ll be a bit taken aback, but he’ll try to cover it up right away with a witty one-liner

but if you throw one right back at him, his cool facade will crack even more and you’ll get to see a very rare slightly flustered Kaeya

he’s unable to keep eye contact for a few beats after, not wanting to show you his embarrassment

but soon he’ll get over it and return to the smooth-tongued Cavalry Captain persona, later attempting to fluster you back by kissing your hand or forehead

internally though he’s extremely grateful that you felt comfortable enough to confess on your own, he’s not used to being on the receiving end of affection

the night ends with you both walking outside the city walls, conversing and joking while holding hands and enjoying the starry sky together

Diluc Ragavindr

honestly he wouldn’t register that he has a crush on you until he sees you being cute and his heart thuds painfully against his ribcage

he’s hesitant to pursue you, constantly reminded that his loved ones could leave at any moment

but deep down he’s still that passionate young boy ready to spread his love, despite how reserved his exterior demeanor is

he takes advantage of his affluence and resources to set up the most beautiful and romantic venue to invite you to dinner

it’s a small (but still very nice) table set up near the lake outside the Dawn Winery, with a small candle in the middle for ambiance

he subtly gathers information about your food preferences a week before so he can surprise you with your favorite meal

it doesn’t matter what he wants to eat, he’s perfectly content with seeing you smile after every bite

after you finish dining, he invites you to walk along the shore under the pretense of “It’s good for digestion.”

he takes this opportunity to hold your hands and look directly in your eyes before asking for permission to kiss you

his kiss is firm and passionate, you feel as though the world has disappeared around you as you’re enveloped in his warmth

you kiss him

since he’s such a reserved person, it depends on how he feels about you

if he’s not ready or doesn’t realize his feelings, he’ll push you away and distance himself for a while

but if you’re confident that he reciprocates your feelings, you’ll get to see a rare side of the uncrowned king of Mondstadt

he’d be stunned at first, frozen in shock as processes reality, but soon melts into your embrace and kisses you with gentle passion

Diluc is probably so touch-starved, he’s running his hands up and down your body and holding you as if you might disappear any minute

it’s unusual to see such a stoic man in such a vulnerable state, a furious blush blooming across his face

he pulls you into a tight embrace, burying your face in his chest so you can’t see his embarrassment

the next morning, you find a beautiful bouquet of roses and note inviting you on a date

he wants to take you out properly so he can truly express how much he cares for you

Thoma

he kisses you

he has everything planned out down to the minute, wanting your first kiss to be perfect

he’s been repeating his plan and things he wants to say in his head all week, but immediately forgets all of it when he sees your cute smile

he invites you on a casual picnic, cooking your favorite foods and setting up a cute spot under a tree outside of the Kamisato estate

the whole time he keeps stealing glances at you and silently hyping himself up

he overthinks everything because he wants it to be perfectly romantic and smooth, his thoughts are a cacophony

“Is this the right time? No, maybe I should wait, but will it be too late? Is there something in my teeth? What if-“

after you finish eating, he waits for a quiet lull in the conversation before confessing, holding both of your hands as he asks to kiss you so earnestly

his kiss is soft and sweet, holding the side of your face gently as he revels in the feeling of your lips

you end the night gazing at the stars as you lay on the picnic blanket with entwined hands

you kiss him

Thoma is completely red in the face, you can practically see the steam coming out of his ears

he’ll hide his face in the crook of your shoulder afterwards, pouting lightly about how he wanted to kiss you first but you beat him to it

he sounds upset, but you couldn’t wipe the grin off of his face even if you tried

he gets over his initial embarrassment when he sees your beaming happiness, and loops an arm around your waist to kiss you on the forehead sweetly

he’s not used to people doing things for him, so he’s grateful that you thought of him in the first place

you end the night leaning into each other, exchanging sweet chaste pecks as you joke and converse

Arataki Itto

he kisses you

he can’t go to sleep the night before because he can’t stop imagining kissing you (but of course he’s super cool and suave in his imagination)

he asks if you want to go look for Onikabuto with him, but instead takes you to a beautiful cliff overlooking the sea

when the time comes, he’s trying to be cool and casual, but he can’t hide all his nervousness; he’s fiddling with his hair and can’t hold eye contact for longer than a few seconds at a time

he probably misses the first time, kissing the corner of your mouth or bumping your teeth accidentally

Poor guy is mortified, but just laugh it off and tell him it’s alright and he’ll fall for you more

he begs for another chance and kisses you properly the next time, with more confidence and determination
