⋆ everyone thought you both were dating, every single time you both even come close to each other theres some awkward sexual tension
⋆ he criticized every little thing you did, if said something a little wrong, he’d make fun of you, always having to run his mouth
⋆ now you personally didn’t really believe in soulmates because of how hard it is to find yours, to find your soulmate you have to actually touch them; not a touch as in accidentally graze but like an intimate type, a hug, etc.
⋆ if you are a attorney, you always would always drag on the case longer than it needs to be just to argue a little longer (you also did it to spend more time with him but, i won’t tell anyone your secret)
⋆ neuvillette and you had some weird type of rivalry, you guys knew each other for a while, every single time you felt as neuvillette liked someone you ended up taking them from him and he did the same to you.
⋆ at the same time, he didn’t honestly know how to feel about you, your personality was so different from his. he tried his best to stay away from you but, clearly it didn’t work.
⋆ his hatred for you was also contributed because of your friends, the people you hang around, the not so liked people in fontaine.
⋆ he felt as you were a competition for him at the same time; you were a little too good at your job (whatever you want it to be), now it may not necessarily be at his level but you were too good for his liking.
⋆ his emotions and feelings are all over the place. he couldn’t decide if he hated you, didn’t care, or was jealous.
⋆ neuvillette always looked at you, even if it was a look of hatred, love, admiration, anything. he always had some type of eye on you, he felt some time of connection with you.
⋆ if you ever got in trouble, he took the blame for it, which was odd as he wouldn’t really care if you were someone else.
⋆ fontaine was raining really bad, that day happened to be the day you got injured.
⋆ you had just got back from sumeru which isn’t the safest place, your injuries weren’t thatttt bad but, they weren’t the prettiest.
⋆ once you got a little healed and we’re allowed to leave, you saw him. he wasn’t doing anything important just looking at the melusine.
⋆ you walked up to him to annoy and tease him, most people were conflicted if you were enemies or lovers.
⋆ you weren’t expecting his reaction though, instead of arguing with you, he hugged you. you were frozen for a moment but eventually hugged him back, which is how you found out you were soulmates.

So, does anyone know if there's any way to change the tilt angle of the camera in the Photo Egg? Otherwise my guy here literally won't fit within the frame unless he does Pedro's stupid pose T_T
I know I can zoom out, but I like taking photos like I'm still playing Style Savvy lol - the fullbody, midshot and closeup. I wish they'd let you stay in the Photo Egg for more than one photo at a time too.

7. What is your deepest joy about writing?
oh god, it's just nice, innit? an absolute delight to just put words together. i don't think i'm very strong on plot or character, though i certainly try my best, but i love an image or a phrase. coming up with them really just feels like painting a picture. here's a nice stormcloud, a house at night, the mud on some boots.
11. Do you believe in the old advice to “kill your darlings?” Are you a ruthless darling assassin? What happens to the darlings you murder? Do you have a darling graveyard? Do you grieve?
stone cold. usually about ten percent or more of the final wordcount gets deleted.
i'm not a concise writer. my unedited writing is so florid, long paragraphs of and, and, and, and. all the shavings go into their own box as i trim back. i'm sad to see some of them go, but like the feeling of bringing bags of unworn clothes to the charity shop, it feels good too.
some of my favourite deletions:

Maxime sits heavily on the doorstep of his empty house. The scene in front of him is squared-off, a neat midshot flanked by parallel rows of townhouses, letterboxed by the sky above and the dirt-grey asphalt below. Within it, a triangle – a three-point imaginary line traced from himself in the doorway, to Frank’s position faux-insouciant against the engine-warm car, to Matthias’ turned-in shoes on the roadside. - avoir trente ans
oh boy. that'll be izzy hands, then. izzy was one of those "of course" characters to me as the perfect vessel for writing a story about desire repressed by shame, my signature move. but while other characters that i've written and lumped with those issues previously did have their own personality nuances (aziraphale, eddie from stephen king's it), none of them had quite the villain-coding that izzy gets in our flag.
trying to write a canon-truthful version of him in when we fight about love that was sustained over a multi-chapter plot, that was also sympathetic enough to make him a readable pov character, while not being overly excusatory about the things that made him dislikeable (power-hungry, dishonest, manipulative, jealous) was the hardest fucking thing i've ever had to balance in fic writing.
the sad thing, to me, is that an inexplicable spike of discourse somehow severed the fandom into two camps of haters and enjoyers, and from that moment on there was no way of engaging with this character without seeming to make a statement for one side or the other. i wanted to engage with izzy as neutrally as possible and with as close an eye on canon as possible to create an honest character study, but it still felt like stepping on landmines in every direction.
i did it, and i was happy with it - maybe the most satisfied i've been with anything i've written - but the atmosphere surrounding it made the whole process incredibly stressful.

note: ngl i feel like i do good at posting then smth with school pops up and i don’t post for like a month.. sorry y’all. also please tell me im not the only one who’s been on and off sick for the past month, rn i have a runny nose and a sore throat AGAIN. i just got over that like, barely 2 weeks ago.
tw: y/n is a bit of a weirdo with his thoughts since he doesn’t understand anything w/ love, internal homophobia (not really but kinda?), y/n is all over the place
After centuries of fighting, killing, and not showing emotions to anyone, all that can end because of a guy with beautiful long hair. The more y/n thinks about it, the more embarrassed he gets. He’s known for being a fearless and intimidating warrior, just for that whole facade to disappear just over a man out of all things.
This whole scenario came into place because his nation archon just had to have a meeting with Fontaine's archon, Furina, at least y/n thinks that’s her name. The meeting consisted of figuring out how to make the justice system within Natlan better and a way to make transportation easier between the two nations. y/n didn’t pay attention to the little details, he was only there to ‘protect’ his archon and make sure things went smoothly.
However, he didn’t realize that the other archon would be bringing a guest with her until a day before the meeting. It did tick y/n off a little bit that he would get notified so late but does it really matter? All y/n is doing is protecting and making sure everything doesn’t go south.
Well, it did go a bit south, as soon as Furina's guest arrived, y/n's mouth went dry. That man did things to him that he didn’t even know could happen. Maybe it was the long hair on the other man that made y/n feel warm inside, it definitely couldn’t have been the slight scent he had. No, definitely not.
Okay, y/n takes that back, he feels like he’s getting intoxicated by the proximity of the other male. It wasn’t hard to figure out that the guest, was a dragon, all it took was a quick look and a secret deep breath to figure it out. He had it figured out, his body wasn’t used to being by another dragon, and he hadn’t seen one in what, centuries? This feeling would go away in maybe 20 minutes, hopefully.
20 minutes later and y/n feels like he’s going to light the whole place on fire. His whole body feels like it’s melting, and to no one’s surprise, it’s all due to the long-haired man in front of him. The stranger might genuinely be the hottest person y/n has ever seen in his entire life. That long hair makes y/n want to run his fingers through it, maybe brush it, but that might be a bit too much to think about.
Once y/n saw the man look at him, he quickly looked away, how embarrassing.. he got caught staring hardcore. He took a deep breath before listening back into the conversation, “Ah, yes, I suppose it would do both nations good to do something like that. Maybe combining a bit of power.” the lovey talk of archons, always talking about power; like it’s the only thing that matters to them.
Power is important though, y/n is in the position he’s in right now because of how powerful he is. In complete honesty, he’s probably too powerful for his own good, only knowing how to use it to protect his nation from people deemed as enemies; even if they aren’t in the public eye. Power rules everything at the end of the day, nothing can function without power.
The more he listens into the conversation, the more he realizes he was glad he was never born as an archon; he’s been around one most of his life and it’s always been boring. Listening in did provide small details though, like the mysterious man’s name.
While y/n was somewhat able to keep his focus off of the other dragon in the room, he managed to not burn anything. But, he had a feeling his archon caught on as they gave him a questionable look; it was a very subtle one that only he could catch onto but it was obvious they knew something. Nothing is going on though, right? The man can’t help it if he gets a bit flustered whenever he remembers Neuvillette is near him.
Gosh, y/n probably looks like a blushed teenager who just confessed to his crush. Well, he at least thought he did. To everyone else though, he looked like he was on guard and was going to fight anyone who even took a step too close to his and the Natlan archon's bubble. y/ns hand accidentally gazed at the chair near him, which caused the leather to burn where his touch was. Good thing no one was looking, right?
y/n couldn’t wait any longer for this meeting to be over, his brain was thinking too many things while he was focusing on every single move everyone else did. It would be overwhelming for anyone who wasn’t trained and as skilled as he was, but that tiny overwhelming feeling didn’t compare to how fast his heart was beating. y/n hoped the other male couldn’t pick up how he was feeling, thankfully Fontaine's archon seemed to be happy with the deal she and the other archon came up with.
In Neuvillette's mind, he could tell that the fire dragon was on edge. He could also tell how much the dragon was staring at him, it was a little nerve-racking. Once Neuvillette caught a glance at the chair that was touched, it made him a bit surprised but he didn’t show it. Maybe he would talk to the other male after the meeting, for work-related things of course!

Week 3 | Contact Sheet
This week for my SDL, I made a home studio with some very wacky placement of a sheet. With this studio, I took a range of portraits of my mum. I don't have a light that is too powerful so I decided to try the candlelight idea that I saw in some of my research to create a dim light source.
Idea 1: I used the candle in the frame on a shallow depth of field to light the form of my mum. The candle is out of focus while the face is in. The light coming from below gave a soft light on the face. I also tried a few of these without the candle in frame as well as it being placed in different angles. I also tried some different ranges of photos with this as well, closeups and midshots.
Idea 2: I tried a bedside lamp as a light source for the second idea. I found that the light was too harsh and I wasn't able to frame any better from the placement of my studio. Because of this, I lowered the exposure and tried using the candle at the same time, this time with the lamp behind. This created a double light however I still found that the lamp was just too strong. I was able to frame a few shots without the candle nicely though, like the shot with the hands covering the light which cast a larger shadow on her face.
Idea 3: Rather similar in idea, I used a flower light as an object in the frame to emit the light. With this light, I wanted to try covering some of the face as well as it was an effect that I hadn't tried yet and I found it created interesting highlights.
There were a lot more ideas used but there are too many to list within this!!

Originally I had wanted to begin the film with this shot in which I zoomed into the window of my house, looking into the living room with the sound of my friend slurping up poo gradually getting louder and louder, before abruptly cutting to a midshot of him from inside of the house.
I tried this several times, but for all the times that I had people over to shoot this specific moment, it was always too bright. It was hard to get a decent exposure so that you could see the outside as well as the inside of the house. The windows were also too reflective during these sunny days.

The only thing is that (aside from the color grading that Disney also skips out on), the photography is better than 2003's weird mix of constant close ups and midshots. I know it was to keep the CGI to a minimum, but what we DID see of all the sets was so pretty in that one it felt like a loss. Then here, I guess to save on it they simply didn't do anything with the island.
Severely mixed thoughts on peter saying sorry, but in the context of this story it was cute. Against Peter's wider character but in this I think it works.
"I HAVENT GOT ANY" ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME.....
I'm calling it now that the post credit scene will be hol dragging himself up onto a beach, just maybe not Neverland, because the rest of this is stolen plot bits from other adaptations, so they might as well.
