The thing is. I rarely want loving love in fictional. I like desperate yearning. I like obsession. I like blinding trust just bc you can’t imagine the betrayal. I like codependence. I like the lost caused by the other half’s absence. I like worthless sacrifices that satisfies nothing but the selfish need to devote. I like the unhealthy attachment to each other. I like the foolishness of throwing yourself in love.

I already told some friends this but it makes me extremely mad seeing Lucifer's design in Hazbin because...vivzie already designed lucifer for zoophobia and he's *so much better*
Tumblr media
Look at him! Like yeah it is all red but at least it's a nice muted red with lighter accents in the eyes and eyebrows. He's not 50 shades of blood.
The big horns that reference a broken halo are a wonderful touch. I love the grizzled face and hunched back that show he's Old and Has Seen Things. I like the cloak that adds an air of mystery as to what's behind it.
Compared to this...
Tumblr media
This is just a White Onceler. He doesn't convey anything lucifer to me other than the snake and the apple on his top hat. He's just another generic triangle tooth twink.
Going back a bit, It also helps for zoophobia that he was supposed to be in a world of characters who WERE bright and colorful so he actually stood out in a good way
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at these guys! Sure, it's busy, but I can actually tell which characters are what. They all feel like they have their own identity and aesthetic due to their different colors. It's what a cartoon cast is SUPPOSED to look like.
Old lucifer would have stood out in that cast because not everyone is fucking red. New lucifer barely stands out, only because he looks so much like Charlie. And even THEN, they look like siblings!
Tumblr media
this isn't official art done by Vivienne but I couldn't find any other good screencaps showing them side by side. If someone didn't know shit about hazbin they'd think charlie and lucifer were twins. Nothing about new lucifer's design suggests that he's a father or even older than 25.
It's sad, honestly. I used to look up to vivienne when I was younger. Now, she's a shadow of her former self as an artist.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eh? And it hadn't even been a full day.
Tumblr media
Anyway, do you know what this means?:
Tumblr media
It means… that I don’t give a damn about your whiny gibberish about this top/bottom bullshit, because it sounds incredibly silly. (And wrong because I draw both?)
It’s fine to have a preference, good for you (I have one too!), but if all you care about between a character-dynamic is the single notion which establishes a rule within a fandom that demands only this particular dick in only that particular booty and nothing else, while dividing yourselves between "us and them" while seeing the people who like the same exact characters as your "enemy" and treating them as such— well,
I have nothing to say to you, I couldn’t care less what you think about me and I don’t know you.
But for the sake of other creators who are often a target also, some which I know quit because of this… there is a little something I'd like to say about these servers:
You don’t think I (we) know what is said in there and by who? 👀 That your rules of "what is said on here stays here" with a bunch of people online that you don't know, is actually respected? Why do you think I never join any. And bet your ass that I'm not the only one. This constant fighting between NS/SN is such an embarrassment for this fandom, seriously. I hope you realize that.
Because, instead of encouraging a (new) creator to share something about the characters you claim to love (for fucking free) you go off chastise them for not “doing it right”/“your way”, pretending it's some unspoken commission no one knew of or was paid for. Instead of being happy there’s still so much creative contribution for characters from a story that ended years ago, you go complain under fanfics and dishearten writers, often grinning away with your little server-“friends” and make fun of work someone poured their heart in. Or, you huff, puff and breathe fire as you make plans to cancel them out of pure bitterness, to the point (especially new) creators are too scared and dispirited to ever share anything again. It's easy to do anonymously, aye? And if you think that doesn’t affect their lives and sends them right back into a crestfallen pit of dark hell because it prevents them to do/share the single thing in life that gave them a bit of joy, then...
Congratulations; you’re a heartless bastard.
And you, as a fan, did yourself dirty too.
Do you know how many people don’t want to share anything at all for this fandom because you people leave comments, tags, asks, tweets constantly complaining about an incorrect portrayal of the (in your opinion) only acceptable dynamic, like a bunch a brats? Do you? Because I’ve talked to quite a few of these discouraged creators, they have to hope for the best and pray they’re spared from your scrutiny. I receive it from both sides every now and then.
Again, congratulations: you’re the reason there’s less chance of you getting what you want in the first place.
Do you... really not realize?
The more you squabble with "your enemy" (lol) the more it affects the "us" you care about while the rest of us just bask in the glory that is SNS/NSN and couldn't care less about what you think/have to say. So, keep everyone else out of it and go mope elsewhere.
But, between you and me? There are better ways to share what you think is right. Make something yourself, because what's stopping you?
You’re perfectly capable, it doesn’t have to be art or a fic, maybe there’s just something in the story that you really enjoyed— write about it. Make a meta. Post the panel, show the moment that determined your undying love for this single dynamic and why— whatever.  Because, wouldn't it be nice having someone encourage you to create something you like? 😬 Especially because you and your server feel so strongly about it? And then you don't have to depend on others either?
Wouldn't it be nice?
Well?
Hm!?
Try it, ffs.

Y’know what’s interesting when you think about it? Wriothesley and Neuvillette are mirrors of each other, in a way.
The most obvious of this is in their jobs and their social standing, Neuvillette is the Iudex the highest position in Fontaine after the events of the archon quest. He’s generally seen as an apathetic person who does not let his emotions get the best of him. We know that’s not true, we know that he does feel things very deeply. However due to the nature of of his job and who is, being the Hydro Dragon Sovereign, he either can’t express his emotions or, doesn’t know how to. We also know that he is kind.
Then there’s Wriothesley. Who is the highest ranking official within the Fortress of Meropide, who was given the title of Duke by the same person who sentenced him to exile. You’d think that would make him apathetic, right? In a way, it does. At least underneath his outward demeanor. It’s not overly stated, and I’m sure some people will disagree with my assessment, but at least in my opinion, it’s true. Wriothesley is an apathetic person due to the circumstances of his upbringing and his job. Yes he is outwardly kind and caring, and we do know that he does care deeply about a select few people- Seigewinne is a prime example of this. But his apathy is shown best in his story quest. Telling his story in a detached manor and even with how he deals with the leader of the Beret Society.
That’s not to say that these characters aren’t what they project themselves as. Neuvillette has been apathetic plenty of times in the game, and Wriothesley has been kind without the preface of his job. But it’s so interesting to me how they present themselves as public figures and in private. Not to mention the respect and trust both of them have for one another. Which in itself is something i would love to dissect more.
Sorry is this wasn’t as in depth as it probably could’ve been. I just like that Fontaine, compared to some other stories in Genshin, gives room for characters to be much more dimensional in some regards. Thanks for reading, if there are any grammar errors i’ll come back and deal with it later lmao

Why do I feel like Carlos' reasoning for not wanting kids yet (cause I don't believe he doesn't want to have them ever AT ALL) goes over the "we're not ready for this responsibility yet" and the "I wanna enjoy us more" but it has more to do with a "I don't wanna become like my dad" kind of thing

It’s funny how some people in the fandom treat fictional characters as real people and real people as fictional characters.

"I can't hate any piece of media because it took so long to make and people worked so hard on it!!!!" do you hear yourself?? Do you not feel braindead from all the toxic positivity??? tell that to with any person who's actually written a book/comic or helped create a movie/tv show and they will laugh you out the room

I bring a sort of "can't they just be close friends or a qpr" type of vibe to the function that most shippers do not like

I always will find it funny when people in a fandoms are arguing over which ship with the same person is better and there's like 20% of the fandom that just makes them polygamous.
Ngl I love that.

This is gonna be a bit of a vent-post. I think the reason I have such bad faith readings of people coming into askboxes or comments of Jason Todd fanblogs and demanding that they read more of Helena Bertinelli, or Cassandra Cain, or Mia Dearden instead, is that me and many of my mutuals are transmasc and being told "we hate women" because of lack of association hits in a different way*. The gender of your blorbo does not define whether or not you are being a good feminist. And no one should feel pressured to deny themselves the character they are passionate about in favor of superficial signalling. Being a feminist is done in everyday life, interactions and decisions, you're going to have a hard time trying to identify who is a real and proper feminist based off of favorite characters.
*clarification: needing to be a woman or act like a woman is a terf talking point, so especially if you are transmasc you should not be pressured to identify with a female character.
