Me: Can I even really call it trauma, though? It wasn't *that* bad, right? Other kids have definitely been through worse.
The men in my head that my brain created to love and protect me because I couldn't handle my childhood otherwise: 🧍‍♂️😐

a reminder that the host isn’t the only person in the system who should be respected and made to feel comfortable.
the host is not ‘the important part’, we are all completely conscious and capable of our own thoughts, feelings and our own boundaries. our brain created us because it decided that we are all important and needed.
the host is not the only member of a system you should care about.

Study on Alter Relationships within DID/OSDD/UDD Systems
Hello! I’ve recently been interested in what way the relationships between alters in my system present, and so have decided to run a study to see how things are for other systems. I also wanted to research possible factors behind why relationships between alters differ between systems, so I thought this study could provide some interesting information on the DID/OSDD community generally.
All responses are 100% confidential, and there’s a longer informed consent statement which you’ll see before you start the study. It should take no longer than 5-10 minutes.
People who are eligible to take part in the study:
- DID/OSDD/UDD and other traumagenic systems. (You do notneed to be diagnosed, self diagnosed systems may take part.)
- Systems who apply to the above but do not have romantic or familial relationships in their system (Your response is still valuable!)
People who are NOT eligible to take part in the study:
- Endogenic systems or other system types who do not consider themselves to have DID/OSDD/UDD. (This is a study on how these relationships manifest in DID/OSDD/UDD specifically.)
- Anyone else who does not have DID/OSDD/UDD.
- Systems who do not have any knowledge on the relationships between their alters. (You may not be able to answer the required questions.)
I would really appreciate as many responses as possible, so I can have a big enough data set to draw some theories, so find the link below:
Even if you’re not eligible for the study, I would greatly appreciate any reblogs so that as many people as possible can take part.
I don’t have any set time for the study to close yet, but am aiming for at least 150-200 responses before it does. Stay tuned for any updates on that.

i feel like i hardly hear this around, but such an integral part of realizing you’re a system is that YOU yourself are an alter/part/etc. theres so much talk about trying to find other alters and dont get me wrong, thats really helpful for a lot of people and its helpful for me too! but its extremely difficult with little/no communication, but using whats right in front of you, yourself, as a reference point did SO much for me and helped me identify wayyyyy more patterns in my behavior or speech that weren’t mine. and even just recognizing that i was a part of myself- really helped a lot for i how i view myself within the system and my others with me.

Feels like "former endo" systems don't get appreciated enough here so shout out to
Systems who thought they were endo at first
Systems who thought they were mixed origin at first
Systems who believed they weren't traumagenic because they didn't remember their trauma
Systems held back in recovery by the endogenic community
Systems who just uncovered their trauma
Systems who are in denial about their trauma
Systems who are still learning about dissociative disorders
Systems who are syscourse neutral due to recently figuring out they are traumagenic
Systems who used to be pro-endo and are now anti-endo
And any other system with a complicated relationship to their trauma and the endo community! It's a rough road, and trauma's a bitch, but we can get through this.
Endo systems and active supporters this post isn't for you, this is for traumagenic systems, endos DNI

system names / collective names are so interesting and special to me. i love learning about why a system chose a certain sys / collective name :> !!
fellow systems, if you have a sys / collective name, share what it means to you, if you'd like! <3
i chose 'the raindrops system' for us for a lot of different reasons, and to be honest, it is kind of hard to explain. but the general gist of it is that rain (the weather) means a lot to me; it can represent sadness, but it doesn't always have to. rain provides such a necessary nutrient to life, water. i love rain, i love the smell of rain, the sound of it, the feeling of it on my skin, it is really nice.
rain can feel lonely, but it can also feel peaceful. i think it sums up our system; there's a lot of sadness and loneliness, but there is also hope and happiness.

systems don’t owe you anything.
not our headcount,
not our trauma,
not our medical records.
we can choose how much we share with others and we are entitled to our privacy.

tw abuse
our relationship with computers is very emotional and spiritual. growing up we couldn't trust our memory (although we couldn't completely understand that at the time), but our computers were always something we could trust. our history was always there. files don't go missing (unlike our brain lol). if our abuser did something to us, at least we'd have our computers after that was over (unless they took that too, then all hell broke loose, if we could even put up a fight). near infinite internet access wasn't always the best, but at the very least it was a necessary escape that kept us alive. nowadays we're free from our abuser, and have moved on to work in tech. whenever we get another computer from a client that they've decided to abandon, whether its an old phone, a laptop, whatever; we are filled with joy whenever we get it roaring back to life.
they saved ours, they deserve to have theirs saved too. we believe computers go to heaven.

Some Thoughts on being Twice Diagnosed DID
It's so surreal being now diagnosed with both DID *and* BPD twice now. Both from trauma specialists. The only con to it all is that the only competent therapist is 2hrs away from me, and having weekly in person therapy is going to break my wallet, and it was only possible to see that therapist by jumping through legal, government junk.
However, to all the DID, OSDD, PDID, UDD, and other CDD systems: You don't need ANY diagnosis to be valid. I'm lucky, not many systems have the privilege to be diagnosed once, let alone *twice*. Never be hard on yourself for self diagnosis and being unable to get a 'proper' diagnosis.

FRIENDLY REMINDER TO SYSTEMS
Stop fakeclaiming yourself based on the "expectations" of a "generic" system that you've gathered from media & those around you.
For those with amnesia, ESPECIALLY on the basis of "I've never done that thing I'm supposed to do" because you probably have. Speaking from recent experience.
There is no such thing as a "generic" system. "System" is an umbrella term for pw dissociative disorders that cause them to be multiple, and the criteria for those dissociative disorders aren't much beyond basics.
Your inner and outer workings as a system are very VERY heavily customized to your experiences and needs and brain. Don't force anybody else's custom experience onto yourself, even as a baseline. Your experience is unique and real, so long as you're experiencing multiplicity and dissociation to some capacity.
After all, there wouldn't be so many categorized diagnostic labels for systems if there wasn't an extraordinarily broad range of experiences, would there?
Remember to validate yourself, and love yourself. It's okay to not know anything for sure or to feel like you've fallen short. Stop listening to the people that want you to conform to their expectations. Your system is perfectly fine as it is 💙
[This post is about traumagenic systems. Pro-endos included, though. Discourse stance doesn't mean you don't deserve some love.]
