i like the phrase "i hope you feel better soon" WAY more than "i hope you get better soon," especially in relation to disability.
to me, it is like "i hope that you will soon be in a better mood and/or have some relief from your pain / discomfort / etc." while the second phrase usually just ends up making me feel a bit sad.
the phrase "i hope you get better soon" isn't necessarily bad, this is just my thoughts.

Reminders for Systems (DID/OSDD)
you don't have to know everything about your system
alters having similarities does not mean you are faking
recovery and healing takes time and it is not a linear path
it is okay to be scared, anxious, stressed, angry, etc.
alters who identify with a system role, you are more than *just* your role

if anyone needs to hear this: your alters having similarities doesn't mean you're "subconsciously faking."
you share a brain, of course you're going to have some commonalities!

host guilt
hey, this is a question for fellow (did/osdd/udd) system hosts. do y'all ever feel, like.. guilty? guilty because maybe you're not giving the other alters enough time in the body? like you're unintentionally hogging front all the time? i try to front-trigger others sometimes but not as often as i wish i did. i seem to get really distracted every day and it barely ever crosses my mind. i feel guilty.

another reminder that feeling as though you're faking is quite a common experience amongst systems (especially when you have recently discovered your system). it is also a sign that you, well, aren't faking.
if you were faking this disorder, you would be making a conscious effort to do so. the fact that you are worried about faking proves that you are not.
i wish you all the best.
(i know there are likely many, many posts like these, but i thought i'd add one to the mix anyways.)

i love my cane. i love that i don't always have to cling to walls, cling to my sister, or cling to my mom when i need help walking. i love that i can keep walking even when it hurts because i'm supported by the cane. i love that i have my cane to support me when i'm having trouble balancing. thank you, cane.

shoutout to those who have only recently realized and/or accepted that they are a system. the discovery process is usually not very fun, and it can be stressful, scary, and strange. but that's okay. it wont always be this way. you'll be okay. i believe in you.
it is okay to not understand all of this yet. it is okay to be confused or afraid. you aren't alone. take all this one step at a time. don't put too much pressure on yourself.

maybe i don't need to name every single experience i have.
maybe i don't need to understand everything i experience.
maybe i can just allow myself to exist as i am.
maybe i can just allow my system to exist as we are.

notes for systems with newly-formed alters
you don't need to have everything figured out. you don't need to know the name of this new alter, their role in the system (if any), why they formed, etc.
it is not your responsibility to be 100% aware of every single thing that goes on in your system. you're allowed to just exist and let other alters just exist, too.
try not to stress yourself out! do your best to welcome the new alter in any way you can. don't put too much pressure on yourself! <3

system names / collective names are so interesting and special to me. i love learning about why a system chose a certain sys / collective name :> !!
fellow systems, if you have a sys / collective name, share what it means to you, if you'd like! <3
i chose 'the raindrops system' for us for a lot of different reasons, and to be honest, it is kind of hard to explain. but the general gist of it is that rain (the weather) means a lot to me; it can represent sadness, but it doesn't always have to. rain provides such a necessary nutrient to life, water. i love rain, i love the smell of rain, the sound of it, the feeling of it on my skin, it is really nice.
rain can feel lonely, but it can also feel peaceful. i think it sums up our system; there's a lot of sadness and loneliness, but there is also hope and happiness.
