LOST TIME
PAIRING ➩ heeseung x reader (ex beomgyu x reader mentioned)
SUMMARY ➩ you and your bestfriends, growing up together since you were babies, had a tradition of going camping together every summer. this year you get paired up to share a tent with the boy you’ve been in love with since elementary.
WC ➩ 7.7k
AUTHORS NOTE ➩ honestly this was meant to just be a straight up PWP work due to the request but i got way too into the friendship dynamics and backstory lol.. idk if any other writers relate but sometimes smut just doesn’t feel like it fits in stories but i hope you still like this and maybe ill write something more nsfw later on with this prompt (not proofread and written at like 6am like always lol)
It wasn’t like camping was something you absolutely hated. In fact, for the first 20 years of your life it had been the single thing you looked forward to most throughout the busy year.
At some point it had developed into a promised tradition, an accidental hobby that you and your friend’s coincidentally carried on all throughout your shared childhood and high school.
Your parents had all grown up together too and lived on the same street once they were old enough to start their own families, keeping their tight knit connections and extending it to their partners and children later on in life. You grew up with a community because of this, your neighbors being people you’d spent your entire life around as they were basically family now.
It wasn’t a surprise to any of your parents and their friends families when they all also had kids around the same time, the biggest gap between babies being just over 4 years.
This was how your best friends came to be, as smooth and naturally as gaining a sibling or meeting a soulmate. You grew up surrounded with the same kids, going to the same school and spending holidays together at one of the houses on the shared culdesac.
The camping tradition was started before you even could register what was happening, photos of your parents lined up in bathing suits, holding different sized babies down near the lake shore with bright smiles and sunburns were your only proof that you’d been there as long as you have. As you got older and could enjoy the activities more, it became your favorite thing to do.
Your parents all got older right alongside you and they eventually stopped coming with, knowing you and the other kids would have fun out there while also being safe and smart.
So you continued on like that, all pitching up tents for the weekend and spending your time relaxing on tubes in the river or talking around the campfire, letting off the stress the year had brought you as you finished up high school and entered different colleges.
So it was slightly out of character that you were groaning as you packed your suitcase, complaining to Sunoo on the other side of the phone as he carried out the same action a few houses down.
“It’s just terrible timing.” Your voice was louder than normal as you disappeared into your closet in search of something warm for the colder temperatures at night. “Beomgyu and I are barely even broken up and I’m so behind on class work I could die.”
“Well you know it’s the same time every year Y/N, it’s not like it was sprung on you. Plus Beomgyu broke up with you last fall. I’d say you’re officially over by now.” Sunoo’s voice was barely audible from back in your bedroom but you still sighed and leaned your head onto your dressed with a thud.
He was always brutally honest with you considering he’d known you since you were infants, being the two closest in age out of the rest of you. When you first started school most of the teachers had assumed you were twins, wearing matching clothes and stuck at the hip everywhere you went.
You’d ditched The Shining like fashion now that you were adults but you still were the closest to him out of everybody, having applied to the same college together.
“Plus we haven’t seen the others since the holidays. This is the longest we’ve been apart, aren’t you excited?” His voice was picking up a hopeful tone as he tried to cheer you up and change your mood around.
You sighed softly again and walked back to your bedroom, grabbing your phone from the bed and holding it to your ear so you could hear him better. Leaning forward to look out your window across the small chunk of yard that separated you from your neighbor, you could see him sitting in his chair with a big smile on his face.
“You’ll be sick of them in an hour.” You remarked and knocked on the window, his head picking up to look over at you.
“I’m always sick of them.” He was rolling his eyes and you watched his mouth move in silence as the phone audio lagged behind a few seconds. “That’s the best part.”
You smiled at that and nodded although he wasn’t looking at you anymore, turning back to his bag. You did miss your other friends, almost an impossible amount.
You spent a lot of nights in your dorm room thinking about them and how horrible it was to be apart, replaying the goodbyes you all gave each other at the airport over and over in your mind as you tried to remain hopeful for the next time you could reunite. Nothing could prepare you for how difficult it was to separate for them, your parents all watching you with sad smiles in the background as you cried and hugged each other.
Coming home for Christmas felt like you’d gained a piece of your heart back, spending the entire break inseparable and having more fun than you possibly could with the more casual friends you’d met in school.
Your parents hadn’t nagged you for not being home a lot or felt sad that you all rather be together than with them for Christmas Eve and morning, understanding more than anybody else what it felt like to have such friendships.
“Aren’t you excited to see Heeseung?” Sunoo’s voice cut into your happy daydreams and the smile fell from your face at his teasing tone, stiffening slightly as he glanced at you from his room again, an eyebrow raised in amusement at your reaction.
“I’m excited to see everybody.” You said stiffly and he let out a small laugh at your sudden serious tone, knowing you had caught on to what he was implying. “Sunoo, don’t make it weird.”
“I’m not.” He gasped like it was an offensive thing to suggest, standing and approaching the window so you could see him better as he continued to tease you. “I just think it might be interesting considering this is the first time you’ve seen your childhood lover since being single again.”
“Do not call him that.” You were groaning and flopping back on your bed to which he let out another amused laugh.
You loved all of your friends equally, each one of them bringing a different set of pros to your life and helping to shape your personality as you grew up and molded into the person you were now. They were your family, brothers you never had and they felt the same way about you, resulting in no one ever dating within the group or causing awkward moments that could potentially upset the harmonious balance.
Lee Heeseung was the exception.
Despite Sunoo’s ridiculous phrasing he had never been your lover, not even remotely coming close to it. In fact things were almost more platonic with him than anybody else, never hugging you for too long or jokingly flirting to try and get on your nerves.
You weren’t exactly sure what it was about Heeseung that you liked so much. You’d seen him grow up the same as the other boys and while their changes annoyed you, scrunching your nose at classic boyish humor or lack of hygiene as they all shot up in height and their voices started cracking, Heeseung was the most beautiful person you’d ever met in your entire life.
He’d been born first out of all the babies but he never took advantage of being the eldest, always kind and generous as he drove everybody around and asked for group opinions instead of just doing whatever he wanted out of seniority.
He was funny in a way you didn’t know boys could be funny, not even meaning to make you laugh sometimes and just coincidentally being a beacon of light and humor that left all of you bending over trying to catch your breath at the dinner table. You liked this about him but you liked the small proud smile he’d have after everytime even more.
It certainly didn’t help that he was handsome in an unreal way. He had seemingly barely dipped a toe in the awkward phase you all went through before he was shooting up in height and his features were sharpening, solidifying into somebody who could’ve been intimidating if he wasn’t always smiling and goofing around.
But Heeseung was never your lover and he never would be considering your crush for him, that you had mistakenly spilled to Sunoo at some point during your senior year of high school, was completely dead and gone as far as you were concerned.
You’d even gotten a boyfriend to prove this to yourself, meeting a sophomore on your first day of college and immediately being taken by his style and humor. He reminded you of your friends back home as much as somebody could manage and he helped you adjust to being away from everyone outside of Sunoo. You’d even brought him back home with you last thanksgiving, letting him meet your friends before he abruptly dumped you on your drive back to the airport.
When you’d gotten out of the car with swollen eyes and red cheeks, your friends who had been waiting in the lobby to say the round of goodbyes had immediately crowded around you in worry.
Heeseung was standing back a bit and you tried not to make eye contact with him, humiliated as you murmured to them that Beomgyu had just broken up with you only a few minutes ago.
Jay was furious and attempting to go and confront the boy who was checking your bags in with security but Jungwon was quickly reminding him that you had to spend the next 4 hours sat right beside him on the cramped plane and they didn’t need to make the silence anymore uncomfortable than it already was going to be.
“I can drive you back.” Heeseung’s soft voice was coming from behind the bickering pair and you glanced up at him with wide teary eyes, not liking the pitiful gaze he was peering down at you with.
You felt sick at his suggestion as your heart skipped a few beats, the harsh reminder of how kind and generous he was immediately followed by the realization that no matter how hard your tried or how long of a relationship you had, he’d still make your stomach light up with butterflies. You turned down his offer and said your goodbyes with more tears than usual, promising to see them soon.
Heeseung hadn’t come to Christmas for the first time in your lives and as much fun as you had seeing each other again, the balance was always off whenever one of you weren’t present. He’d claimed he was busy with work and that he’d tried to get time off but he simply couldn’t, a message in the group chat about how he couldn’t wait to go camping being the last time you’d heard from him.
By the time Sunoo spoke again you could see him throwing his backpack over his shoulder and wheeling his suitcase out the door. “This could be the year you know. You should make a move.”
“Don’t be stupid.” You shook your head although he couldn’t see you anymore. “There is no move to be made, we’re bestfriends.”
“That’s because you- Hi Mrs L/N.” You could hear your front door open both through the phone speaker and your own ears. “Are too pussy to do anything about it.”
He whispered the last part so your mom wouldn’t hear and you laughed at the way he stopped mid insult to greet her with an affectionate tone. You hung up the phone and laid flat on your back as you waited for him to climb the stairs to your room.
He was pushing the door open only seconds later and he paused in the doorway when he saw you pathetically sprawled out in your own self pity, sighing softly before climbing on the bed besides your head and petting your hair gently as he kissed his teeth.
“Poor thing. In love with the village idiot.” He was shaking his head and you shoved his hand off of you as he let out a laugh, shielding himself from your attacks. You were sitting up to push him again when three long honks were ringing from outside, catching both of your attention.
You were off the bed and grabbing your bags before you could say another word, a childlike excitement washing over you as you giddily ran down the stairs and gave your mom a rushed kiss goodbye as she complained about the fact Jay had honked and didn’t come in to say hello.
By the time you got outside the other boys were already out of the car, meeting you halfway in laughed filled hugs and you and Sunoo ran to embrace them.
“Oh my god, when did you get so tall?” You were pulling away from Riki in exclamation as you held his arms and shook his frame slightly, scanning him all the way up to his face that was now having to look down at you. “What are they feeding you over there?”
“Straight protein.” Jake was answering before the youngest could, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and he also admired Riki’s growth spurt, although slightly envious considering he hadn’t grown much since high school.
“Protein won’t make you grow idiot.” Sunghoon was leaning against the van with a judging expression as he looked at his friend and roommate, him and Jake going to the same school about an hour away.
You’d stayed in pairs or groups for the most part since moving out. Sunoo and you, Jake and Sunghoon and then Jay, Jungwon and Riki had all moved in together at the best school in the state neighboring yours.
Heeseung was the only one who hadn’t applied alongside any of you despite the belief you all were going to try and stay together as much as possible while still supporting your individual dreams and wants. He had applied to all the same schools as you all did, getting accepted into every single one. Yet when it came down to choosing, he moved the furthest away on his own.
When he had sat you all down in Jungwon’s basement to announce this you remember feeling betrayed. Hurt at him leaving and even more upset that he hadn’t picked the school you were attending considering that was the option he seemed to be leaning towards according to what he told you
You can recall the others cheering in celebration at the fact he’d gotten into an extremely good college despite the sadness that settled in on everyone’s faces when they realized what that meant. You caught his eye at some point during that exchange and he flinched away, not wanting to look at you the same way you did to him at the airport.
Not similarly to the way he was looking at you now, rounding the front of the van as he got out of the passenger seat and made his way to where you were all gathered.
You tensed up for a moment when you first saw him and Riki noticed, following your gaze over his shoulder as he turned around and smiled once he saw what you were looking at, walking over to Heeseung and dragging him towards you with a pat on the back.
“Hey.” He was breathing out as he looked down at you and you took a second to take in his appearance.
It hadn’t been that long since you’d seen him but somehow he looked different, or maybe he just felt different considering how much broader his shoulders were and how much more sure of himself he seemed. You weren’t exactly sure what it was about him that was striking you as new but you were momentarily stunned as you took him in.
Sunoo was nudging you with him elbow suddenly and you realized you’d been completely zoned out checking Heeseung out as you ignored his greeting. “Hi Hee.”
He smiled down at you softly but didn’t say anything else, just standing there for a second before Jay was smacking the hood of the old van and announcing you had to hit the road or else you’d miss the site check in time. You gave him a quick glance before moving to carry your bags into the trunk, stopping when big hands were overlapping yours on the handle.
“Let me do it.” You looked up from under your eyelashes to see Heeseung bending over slightly as he gathered your stuff for you.
You were too stunned to say anything and he smiled again, fuller this time as he turned with your stuff and started to load it up. Sunoo was chuckling from beside you and you whipped your head to the side to shoot him a glare, a silent warning for him to be quiet and not draw attention to the blush on your face or the fact your stomach was lighting up with the same familiar feeling it always did whenever you were around the oldest boy.
The ride was uneventful for the most part, three hours passing as the boys in front of you caught up and told childish jokes, at one point having a competition to see who could catch the most goldfish in their mouth before they were gagging.
Heeseung hadn’t joined in with them from his seat in front of you but you could see his cheeks rising with a smile every time Sunoo squeaked out a laugh or Riki started to tease Jay who was driving. You and Sunghoon were in the back, playing games on his phone as you passed it back and forth and tried to ignore the eyes you could feel looking back at you every once in a while.
You were all just starting to reach your boredom limit and the car was filling with groans of pain as you stretched your legs out onto others and complained about your back pain, when you finally were pulling up to the familiar area.
As you shuffled out of the van, you took a deep breath and squeezed your eyes shut. It was rare to find this type of visual anywhere you were used to, the large trees surrounding the clear lake with small mountains out in the distance.
The air felt clear and light in your lungs and the temperature was perfect, just hot enough that you could go swimming still but also bundle into a sweater to avoid getting an overwhelming amount of bug bites.
You helped unload the trunk with the others, setting up the grills and coolers in a small area a few feet away from the main camp site. It was empty now, a small lot of perfectly mowed grass but you’d seen the process enough times to know with only a little bit of work, it could turn into a comfortable home for you to spend the weekend. Jake helped you moved some of the heavier stuff, giggling when he almost tripped over a branch walking backwards.
“Here comes the worst part.” He was leaning over to whisper to you as you walked back to camp.
Jay was sitting on the picnic table the campsite offered to people who stayed multiple nights, the hat he had been wearing in his hands as Sunoo ripped up little pieces of paper next to him.
Jake was right in the sense that this was the most meticulous part of the weekend but you never completely minded it. Your names would all be written on a piece of paper and put into the hat, then you’d draw two at a time and be given your tent roommate for the trip. Sunghoon and Jake often got paired and he’s complain the entire time, citing him as a blanket hog.
For 90% of the years you’d done this tradition you’d gotten Sunoo, eventually you imagined it had something to do with the fact he was the one who always got to call out the names being pulled.
Nobody ever called him out for it despite the way they’d roll their eyes as he put on a show of surprise, gasping and covering his mouth in shock and you laughed and cheered him on. So you weren’t thinking too much about the mischievous look on his face, figuring he was just planning out how his performance was going to go this time around.
“Okay first up to bat.” Jay was calling out in a serious tone, shuffling the slips around now that they were all accounted for.
“Jake.” Sunoo was announcing as he pulled the first one out, unfolding it and showcasing it slowly to your eager eyes. Jake nudged your side with an excited look on his face, crossing his fingers and squeezing his eyes shut in anticipation. “And…. Sunghoon!”
“Oh no fucking way.” The boy next to you was groaning loudly as he dropped to his knees dramatically, holding his head and trying to block out the sounds of Sunghoon laughing and cheering as he mocked him.
You laughed with him, looking at Sunoo who winked at you and bunched the papers up in his hands. You bent down to wrap your arms under Jake’s arms, tugging him back up to a standing position as he dramatically leaned against you.
Sunghoon was excitedly skipping over to the two of you, face lit up with pleasure at the sound of his friends complaints. He helped you hold up Jake who had gone completely limp as he feigned death. “Hurry up, he’s heavy.”
“Alright next up is…” Sunoo paused dramatically like he was waiting for a drum roll, sighing and muttering how you guys weren’t any fun when nobody humored him. “Jungwon and Sunoo.”
Jungwon let out a cheer and a swift clap, although not moving from where he was lounging in a camping chair beside the picnic table. Sunoo gave you another look, the same mischievous grin on his face that he had before, although now it made your blood run cold as you quickly realized what he was attempting to do.
“Riki and Jay.” You were proven right as the third pair was announced and you stiffened up completely in shock and betrayal, not even paying attention to the two boys and they agreed they were going to get the best and biggest tent since Riki was the tallest.
“Looks like it’s me and you.” To make your situation worse, Heeseung’s low voice was suddenly hitting your ear and you turned to glance at him.
He looked slightly awkward, not nearly as awkward as you were feeling, and you felt a wave a guilt at the fact he had most likely saw your upset reaction. You hoped he just figured it was because you liked to be close with Sunoo, although right now you were considering drowning him in the lake, and didn’t think it had anything to do with him.
“Looks like it.” You gave him a tensed smile knowing it absolutely everything to do with him.
——
The day was so fun you were almost able to forget your unfortunate sleeping situation. Everybody had gone down to the lake the second the tents were properly set up and secured into the ground, greeting familiar campers who lived on site full time during the summers and splashing each other aggressively until somebody was screaming and blowing water out of their nose.
It exhausted you fast and you were back at the camp only a few hours later so you could conserve your energy, watching Jay and thanking him as he grilled enough meat for all of you to eat multiple servings.
Now the sun had set and your first night was coming to an end in the most peaceful way possible, listening to your best friends have low voiced talks around a crackling campfire. You weren’t saying much but you liked to hear them tell stories about their months apart from you and drink in their voices that you had missed so dearly.
“Shit just changes in college.” Riki was mumbling and you watched him with tired eyes, nodding your head as he spoke about how he’s felt slightly out of place now that he was away from home.
“That’s because everybody is either having sex or trying to.” Jake was remarking from beside you and you turned to glare at him.
He was playing with the dangling netted cup holder of your foldable chair and you slapped his hand away at his statement, causing him to chuckle and nudge you with his foot as he shrugged. “Hey, it’s true.”
“Not for everybody.” Sunghoon was shaking his head and giving him the same grossed out look you were. He was sat across from you and he glanced at you from behind the fire with a nod of agreement. “Some of us have better stuff to do than go to parties every weekend and dick off.”
Jake was scoffing in disbelief and you watched Sunghoon shoot him a pointed look like he was telling him to keep quiet, your mouth dropping into a surprised laugh at the fact he had tried to lie and pretend to agree with you.
“Don’t let her fool you, she complains about her virginity every other day.” Sunoo was casually saying as he took a sip of his drink, his head tilting back to finish it and missing the reaction from the group.
It had fallen completely silent and you stiffened up awkwardly in your chair, a wave of embarrassment washing over you at your friends blunt phrasing. He had always been known to tell the truth about anything and everything but he seemed to realize this was too far, even for him, putting his cup down slowly and offering you an apologetic grimace.
“What?” Jake was sitting up in his chair and turning to fully face you, leaning forward and tugging on your sleeve with an urgent look on his face. “You’ve never had sex?”
“Dude you were with Beomgyu for like 3 years.” Jungwon was muttering from a few spots over and you glared in his direction at the mention of your ex boyfriend.
“Eight months.” The voice from the other seat beside you was speaking for the first time in a while and you turned your gaze slowly to see Heeseung stiff in his chair, staring into the fire as he played with his empty cup absentmindedly. You wondered if he even realized he had said something, let alone suddenly announced the exact amount of time you’d been in a relationship.
“Regardless dude, weren’t you guys like super serious?” Riki was adding on and you looked over to him, happy no one else had realized how weird what Heeseung had said was.
Despite how open you all were with each other, it was rare the conversation about sex lives ever extended over to you. As much as you didn’t really mind the idea of talking to them about your experiences, or lack there of, you also weren’t totally oppose to them never asking and you never telling.
You would’ve laughed at the fact they all looked personally offended you hadn’t gotten laid, maybe even joined in on the banter, if it wasn’t for the boy next to you and how embarrassing it was for him to be hearing it all. As much as you wished you thought of Heeseung the same as the other boys, you didn’t and this proved it.
“It’s not a big deal guys… he never tried or anything. I didn’t think much about it.” You were flushed bright red, thankfully hidden underneath the dark night, and shaking your head as you tried to feign casualness.
“Not a big deal?” Jake was laughing in disbelief and leaning forward more so you’d fully understand the sincerity in his words. “He was with YOU for almost a year and never made a move? He’s crazy.”
You were turning to glare at him at his wording and he leaned back a few inches, keeping a hand on your chair.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” You groaned as you realized this wasn’t something they were going to just let go and move on from, being presented with the most interesting conversation point of the night.
“You’re hot.” He said it like it was something obvious and clear and you faltered in shock, mouth parting and you leaned forward to smack him on the shoulder. He winced and flinched away from you with an upset whine. “I’m just saying dude! We all think it.”
You turned away from him to scan the rest of the circle with wide eyes and furrowed eyebrows, watching the other boys awkwardly avoid your gaze or just outwardly nod their heads in agreement with Jake. (Sunghoon and Jay.)
You weren’t stupid and you knew the boys were attractive, each of them fit and handsome constantly drawing attention all throughout high school, subjecting you to glares from girls in the hallways and boys trying to befriend you in an attempt to get closer to them.
Still, you’d never considered the fact that they thought about you in a similar way. You never thought too deeply into your own appearance at all, both positively and negatively but you figured the idea would never cross their minds considering they strictly treated you as a close friend or even a sibling at times, minus Jake and his meaningless flirting.
For some reason your gaze fell to Heeseung, who was still completely stiff beside you. He hadn’t been looking at you before but now he was and you faltered slightly at the hard expression on his face, eyes low with something you couldn’t make out in the dark.
“Shut up Jake, don’t be so stupid.” You were turning away from him quickly as you muttered the words and they dropped it quickly the second they realized you were actually uncomfortable and not just messing around.
The conversation moved on for now but you imagined they’d bring it back up at some point during the weekend. You felt a bit better now that the attention was mostly off of you, Jake’s hand resting on your arm as he played with your sleeve softly. You figured he must be feeling guilty for making such a big deal out of it so you ignored him, happily accepting the invitation to go to bed when Jungwon was standing with a yawn.
The awkwardness of that conversation had made you complete forgot about your sleeping situation but you were reminded quickly as the other boys stood to also head to bed, Heeseung standing slowly and hovering near you.
He followed behind you closely as you ducked into the tent but neither of you spoke as you zipped it up, sitting down on the sleeping back to shuffle through your bag as you searched for your pajamas.
You felt bad it was so awkward between the two of you. You’d always felt more cautious around him considering your past crush but you never let it show, not wanting him to think you liked him less than the others or worse, realize the truth was the direct opposite. Still there was something clearly different in their air now and it was suffocating you a bit as you waited for him to joke around or say something stupid to break the tension.
“Are you into Jake?” When he finally spoke it threw you off completely, not expecting him to say something like in such a hardened tone.
You froze in your movements inside your bag, looking up at him in confusion. “What?”
He was halfway sat leaning against a few pillows, watching you from the other side of the tent with that same unreadable expression he had by the fire. He didn’t clarify what he said, knowing you had heard him and you watched him for a few seconds in silent bewilderment.
“Why would you ask me that?” You mumbled, shaking your head and looking down at your disorganized clothes pile again. It slightly agitated you that he hadn’t spoken to you for most of the day and yet that was the first question from his mouth.
“Just wondering.” He shrugged like it wasn’t a completely taboo topic to be questioning you about but his face was anything but casual. “Are you into any of them? Would you hook up with one of us?”
“How can you ask me that? Would you ask one of the boys that or is it because I’m the only girl?” You glared at him as you spoke.
“I’d ask them if I cared.” He stated and you scoffed, not fully understanding what he was attempting to imply in his statement.
He wasn’t acting like himself and you felt a bit worried that maybe you had done something to upset him or weirded him out with your awkward demeanor. You didn’t bother to reply again, grabbing your toothbrush with the pajamas you’d chosen and leaving the tent swiftly through the zippered door.
You were speed walking down towards the public bathrooms and showers on the other side of the camp site, flustered from his random interrogation and replaying the day to decide if you’d done anything that could make him think that.
Jake was touchy with everybody, especially you at times since you objected the least but he always had been and it definitely wasn’t a new and shocking thing for him to be touching your arm or hugging onto your side. You contemplated it potentially being due to his comment about you being hot but considering the context in which he said it, you didn’t think that was the reason.
A hand around your arm was snapping you from your thoughts and you let out a small yelp, spinning around to see Heeseung who was panting slightly.
His eyes were wide a bit like he was worried and you saw a flash of guilt pass through then when he saw your flushed face. He squeezed your arm for a second before letting it go and you gave him a questioning stare at the fact he had seemingly rushed out of the tent to follow you into the darkness.
“Let me walk you there.” He blurred out and gestured to the fact he was also holding his pajamas and night hygiene products. “It’s dark, you shouldn’t be out here alone.”
You scoffed slightly at his concern, both of you knowing you weren’t in any danger at the campsite and it was barely a ten minute walk through a lit trail, but nonetheless you nodded at him and continued walking with him now at your side. He didn’t say anything else and neither did you, parting ways silently once you got to the building and he went to the male side.
You took a second to breathe once inside, leaning your elbows on the counter and looking at yourself in the mirror underneath the yellow flickering lights. You brushed your teeth quickly and changed into a comfortable sweater and shorts, wandering back outside to see Heeseung already there and leaning against the wall.
He watched as you walked past him silently, lingering for a second before jogging to catch up with you.
“I’m sorry.” He was muttering and you looked at him for a second before focusing back in front of you so you didn’t trip over the bumpy terrain. “I shouldn’t have asked you that.”
You shrugged softly and you felt his arm bump into yours as you walked side by side, approaching the tent in silence. You didn’t want to talk about it anymore, certainly not wanting to hear the reason he thought you’d be hooking up with Jake of all people.
When you finally were back inside and putting your toothbrush away you tried to ignore the fact he was climbing onto the large sleeping bag waiting for you to join inside it before he could zip it up completely. Your heart was pounding thinking about sleeping next to him and you suddenly felt overly hot despite the cold chill of the night.
You’d slept next to Heeseung before, all accustomed to sharing beds or living room floors during sleepovers, sometimes even all smushing together inside Jungwon’s van when you had a particularly long late night adventure. Yet it felt extremely intimate to be alone together and zipped up inside a sleeping bag.
Still you had no other option and the cold was starting to get to you considering your pajama shorts, so you scooted over onto the staticky fabric and held your breath as he leaned over you to seal it.
He laid back onto his back and you fell into more silence, not quite touching but you could feel his shoulder only a few inches from yours, rising and falling as he took deep breaths. He was shifting a bit to try and get comfortable and directly bumped into you, freezing at the contact but not making any move to scoot further away.
“I really am sorry for asking you that.” He was suddenly speaking but his voice was so quiet you barely heard him at first, a tired rasp lacing his words.
“It’s fine Hee. Not a big deal.” You whispered back, the air feeling strangely delicate. His hand was touching your wrist randomly but you assumed it was an accident, sparing him a glance at his touch and finding him staring at the roof of the tent.
“Pissed me off when he said that.” His voice was still low but it was hardening again like it had earlier and you winced slightly, confused at his mood changes. Heeseung was never the type to get angry and definitely not somebody who would voice it so openly like this. “Is that weird to say?”
“I’m not sure I get what you mean.” You were bending your legs so your feet were flat against the tent floor and your knees were pointed upwards, feeling strangely vulnerable at the conversation topic.
His hand that was barely grazing your wrist was moving now and you stiffened when he completely grasped it, sliding slowly down your arm until he could feel your palm under his finger tips. You sucked in a breath at his strange actions, never really directly touching him before despite how close you all were to each other.
“I don’t think I know what I mean either.” He was letting out a small self deprecating laugh but he squeezed your hand now that they were intertwined. “I just know whenever he touches you it makes me feel crazy.”
Your heart felt heavy at his sudden confession and you were slightly dizzy as you were trying to process what he was saying and what it meant if he was implying what you thought he might be. It seemed like he was trying to tell you that he was jealous of Jake, jealous of him for touching you earlier and for the way he playfully flirted.
“Jake’s harmless.” You whispered back and you’re not sure why that’s what you chose to address instead of asking him why on earth that would upset him.
“I know.” He said it like he was frustrated, like you were missing the point he was trying to make. “It’s not about that, I don’t know forget it.”
He was unraveling his hand from yours but you instinctively caught him in the middle of his arm, panicked at the thought of him pulling away now that you’ve finally made some progress towards… something you still weren’t fully understanding. But you’d never even toed the line with Heeseung before and you weren’t going to take it for granted.
He was finally glancing at you now that you were practically hugging his arm and his face wasn’t hard anymore, instead having a nervous unsure look that you hadn’t really seen on him before.
“Help me understand.” You loosened your grip on his arm but kept it held against you, breathing heavier as you looked at each other.
He watched you for a while but didn’t say anything just yet, you tried not to flinch when he rolled over on his side so he could face you better and it seemed to work considering his free hand was coming up to push some of your hair behind your ear, resting on your cheek for a second before going back to his side like he hadn’t meant to do it.
“Why did you never have sex with Beomgyu?” He was whispering again and his words sounded particularly vulgar although he sounded like he was genuinely curious.
You didn’t answer for a while because you honestly didn’t have one that wouldn’t make you sound like you were desperate and insane. You could halfway lie and tell him it just didn’t feel right but you had a feeling he would be able to see right through you like he always could.
“It didn’t work right?” He started speaking again before you could and you were turning on your side too so you could look at him in confusion, still holding his arm that was resting in the middle of you. When he saw your confused look he explained further. “Using him to get over me, it didn’t work.”
You froze and your mouth fell open, almost worried you were going to cry considering how embarrassed you felt that he had apparently known your biggest secret this entire time. A sick feeling washed over you and he seemed to notice because he shifted closer to you slightly with a worried expression.
You thought back to how Heeseung had acted on the trip you’d brought your ex boyfriend to. He was more distant than usual but you figured he was just busy and stressed since he had been working so hard, this being confirmed when he couldn’t get time off to attend Christmas.
Now a large part of you was wondering if it was something else, if he had lied so he didn’t have to face you after your breakup. If Jake, somebody he knew and trusted, flirting with you had bothered him tonight then there was no way he hadn’t been even slightly upset considering you and Beomgyu were openly affectionate the entire break.
You tried to not blame yourself for the fact he had missed out on movie night that week, citing he wasn’t feeling well and barely sparing a glance to the two of you curled up together under a blanket on the couch. Remembering how he stared at you over dinner when you were introducing the boy with a bright smile on your face, avoiding his heavy gaze all night because it made your heart feel guilty.
It also made you feel incredibly stupid. Not only did he seem to know you were in love with him but he also determined your entire reasoning for rushing into a relationship.
“You knew?” Your hurt was shown clearly in your tone and his eyes saddened a little.
“Of course I knew, I thought we both did.” He shook his head a little like he was finding himself stupid. “Imagine my surprise when you come home with a boyfriend.”
“You left.” You spat out to him, squeezing his arm at the reminder he had willingly moved farther away from you than anybody else. Despite the fact you’d spent multiple nights together talking about the colleges you’d choose and he assured you he wouldn’t go far if he didn’t pick the one you were set on.
“I had to.” He sounded pained and stressed out like it had been weighing on him and your heart clenched considering you knew exactly how he felt.
As frustrated as you were at the situation you imagined it would’ve been hard for him too, having feelings for you the same way you did but never being sure. You definitely did your best to hide it to keep your friendship steady since it was your priority and you tried to think about how hurt you would be if he suddenly brought a girlfriend to your holidays, stomach turning at the thought.
“I am over you.” You said it forcefully as you tried to salvage any bit of friendship that was left but neither of you believed the words you were saying, his eyebrow raising as he watched you with a curious expression.
“Yeah?” He was mumbling and you squeezed his arm instinctively at his deepened tone and the way his voice quirked up in a question. You nodded your head and hummed softly in agreement, standing behind your claim.
He was shifting closer again and your nose bumped against his, causing you to suck in a sharp breath.
You tried not to think about the fact this was the closest you’d ever been to him, tried not to think about how he basically just confessed to you and taken almost two decades worth of weight off your shoulders. You especially tried not to think about the fact his eyes were flicking down to your lips every few seconds.
You didn’t think about anything at all when he was finally kissing you, closing your eyes immediately and leaning into each other like this was something you did often. Despite how constant you’d thought about what it would be like to kiss him one day, you were still surprised by how natural it felt.
It didn’t make you nervous to lean into him, not even when he let out a small huffy groan when he rolled onto his back so you could be laying halfway on top of him.
Something about kissing Heeseung came naturally to you and he seemed to be thinking similarly considering the way he let out a small relieved sigh when you pulled away to breathe, big hands coming up to tangle in your hair and hold your face still above his as he studied your swollen lips and dazed expression.
He gave you a soft smile and your lips quirked up at the sight of it, feeling content and happy despite your stomach lighting up with those familiar butterflies, leaning back down to kiss him again before you wasted any more time.

A Kiss on the Cheek
Tumblr media
prompt: meeting the Hughes family doesn't go as good as either of you hope (angsty)
word count: 4,331
*It hurt me to make them all mean and to write this*
“Would you stop fidgeting? It’s going to be fine baby. They are gonna like you, trust me,” Quinn’s voice interrupts my anxious thoughts about meeting his family. I look down and notice I am picking at my fingers, so I put my hands face down on my lap. I glance over at Quinn who is concentrating on driving, I honestly wonder how I got so lucky to be with him. We met at the sports bar I worked at in Vancouver. The team walked in to celebrate a win, and Quinn walked out with my phone number. I didn’t even know who he was, or what he did for a living until our third date.
“Sorry,” I mumble quietly. My nerves are through the roof right now. The Hughes family, especially the brothers, are one of the closest families I have ever seen. I know that Quinn values their opinion more than anything else. He once called Jack and Luke to weigh in on the new couch he was buying. “Hey would you look at me please,” he says stopping at the stop sign. I look over and he smiles at me.
“You know after you stop you can go right,” I laugh trying to get out of this conversation. “Really? I had no clue. Good thing I have you to keep me informed,” he joked rolling his eyes at me. He reaches across the console, grabs one of my hands, and brings it to his lips. “Y/n, I wish you could see yourself the way I do. You are literally the best thing that has ever happened to me,” he says sweetly looking over with loving eyes. “Even more than hockey,” I ask raising an eyebrow, joking with him now. “Okay second best,” he says and I slap his chest playfully.
“Thank you, Quinny,” I say leaning over and kissing his cheek. “You don’t have to thank me, baby. But if you wanted to, I think I need a little more than a kiss on the cheek,” he says leaning towards me a connecting our lips. I smile into the kiss and can’t help but fall more in love with Quinn Hughes. We hadn’t said that out loud yet, but I knew how I felt about him. A horn honking snaps us apart. He laughs and drives forward while I sink into my seat embarrassed.
We pull up to his parent’s house he turns off the car. He had already unbuckled and opened his door before I even made the first move. He walks around the car, leans over gently unbuckles my seatbelt, and opens my door. He puts his hand out for me to grab as he pulls me out of the car. I smile up at him and he leans down giving me one more reassuring kiss. We break apart and I notice people watching us from the window.
“Hey, if you are uncomfortable at any time you’ll tell me, right? Because they can be a lot and I think some of Jack’s friends are here. If they say anything I’ll kick their ass okay,” he adds the last part trying to make me smile. I give him a closed-lip smile and lace our fingers together as we walk up to the door. Before he can even open the door, it is flung open, and a brunette boy a little taller than Quinn, who I know is Jack, launches himself on my boyfriend. I smile at just how close they actually are.
“Okay, Jack enough. Let him come in okay,” I hear a female voice come from further in the house. Quinn ushers me inside first and follows closing the door. We shed our jackets and I finally turn a see a room full of people staring at me. I give them a shy smile and feel my legs turning into jello. “Everyone this is Y/n. Y/n this is my mom and dad, Ellen and Jim. And over there is Luke, Trevor, Alex, and Cole. And of course Jack,” Quinn says pointing everyone out to me. I give a quick nod already knowing their names from studying them on the way here.
“It’s so nice to meet all of you. Quinn has told me all about you. And thank you for inviting me into your house,” I say turning to face his parents. His dad gives me a small smile and reaches forward to shake my hand. His mom stared at me for a second and then ran to the kitchen after hearing a beep. I shrugged it off, thinking I was just being sensitive and overthinking everything. After everyone greeted Quinn, he moved over to the couch and I quickly followed suit.
The guys were playing some video game on the tv and Quinn was quickly sucked into it. I tried to keep up but I had no idea what they were talking about. I just sat back and nodded or looked up at the screen trying to follow. “You wanna try,” Jack asks pushing the controller towards me. I open my mouth to say no thank you but before I can Luke interrupts,” She can try later okay? I really wanna beat this before Quinn has to go. No offense or anything to you.” I brush it off and nod saying it was fine. Jack looked over and gave me a sorry look. The guys were so into the game, that no one noticed I had gotten up and followed the sound of voices to the kitchen. I was going to offer to help with dinner, but I stopped in my tracks after actually hearing what they were saying.
“El, come on you can’t already hate the girl. They just got here,” Jim whispers to his wife. Ellen didn’t even try to lower her voice. “Jim I don’t hate her. I’m just saying I want the very best for Quinn and I just don’t think that’s her,” she says walking around the kitchen. “Sweetheart. We don’t even know her yet. I mean I loved Ex/n just as much as you did, but that doesn’t mean we can cast this girl off,” he says following his wife from the kitchen to the dining room.
“How do you know she isn’t just using him for money, Jim? I mean we know nothing about this girl. Nothing. Quinn used to talk all the time about Ex/n. He has only ever mentioned this girl once. And that was to tell me she was coming for the weekend with him.” My eyes filled to the brim with tears and I had heard enough. I understood how they were still close with his ex. His mom still followed her and commented on her things. They were together a long time so I completely got that. But hearing that he didn’t talk about me like I did him to my mom hurt. Also, I felt like I wasn’t even getting a fair chance.
As I turned around to go back to Quinn I bumped into Jack. My eyes go wide and I glance at the kitchen. He gave me a look filled with pity and I knew that he had heard the whole thing. He went to open his mouth to say something when I cut him off,” Jack hey, didn’t see you there. I was just heading back.” We both knew I was lying but he chose not to say anything and followed me back into the living room. “Hey, baby. Where did you go? I didn’t even notice you were gone,” Quinn says looking over to me.
“Sorry, I just had to call Mom and let her know we made it. You know how she gets,” I laugh and out of the corner of my eye, I see Jack look our way. I cut him a look pleading him not to say anything. He sighs but nods and turns his attention back to the game. When I turn I see Trevor and Luke staring between me and Jack. I tried to ignore it and curled into Quinn’s side. I started picking at my fingers again, this time Quinn didn’t notice.
As we all sit down for dinner my stomach drops to the floor. In the big bowl in the center of the table was a shrimp alfredo dish. I have a small seafood allergy and couldn’t eat what she had cooked. I already felt awful from the words I heard from the kitchen earlier, so now how would they feel when I didn’t eat? Quinn hands me a plate and smiles down at me before fixing his own. I sign and tell him thank you. I pushed the food around and ate some of the noodles here and there when someone would look my way. My throat would be scratchy later but nothing too serious would happen from just a couple bites.
“So how did the two of you meet,” Jim asks breaking the awkward silence at the table. All eyes are on Quinn and I,” we meet at the bar she works at.” I know I shouldn’t feel ashamed about what I do for work, I really enjoyed it. But something about sitting at a table full of professional hockey players, future professional hockey players, and their parents made me feel so self-conscious. “You work at a bar,” Cole asked looking my way. I knew he didn’t mean it the way I took it but it made my face flush. “Yeah, I wait tables at this sports bar in downtown Vancouver,” I finally say after drinking almost my whole glass of water.
“The guys and I went out one night after a game to this new bar near the arena. Y/n was our server for the night,” Quinn said proudly putting his hand on the top of the table. “I’m working on my degree so I work at the bar at night to help pay for school,” I say hoping that would give me some brownie points. I guess that was enough because the conversation was quickly changed and never revisited. “Oh Quinny did you see that Ex/n got that role in the movie,” Ellen asked excitedly. I tensed up and tried to distract myself. I felt a small nudge under the table and looked across to see Jack. He sends me a smile and I return it. At least one of them liked me, or he just pitied me.
“Oh yeah, I did. She called me after she found out. Said the only reason she got it was because of all the practicing I helped her do for it,” my boyfriend explained to his mom. She let out the biggest smile and it made my already broken heart completely shatter. Quinn hadn’t told me that they had talked. “Oh, I would love to talk to her,” his mom gushed. I sat in my chair rethinking and overanalyzing every little detail of our relationship. I knew I was going to cry and didn’t need anyone to see. “Hey, I’m gonna run to the bathroom real quick,” I whisper to Quinn, who just nods and keeps talking to Luke about something.
I head down the hall looking for a bathroom when a voice from behind me scared me. “You can use the one in my room if you want,” Jack said and I let out a deep breath knowing it was him. I smiled and followed him to his room. By the time I made it to the door, the floodgates opened. I quickly shut the door and locked it. I sat on the floor and cried trying to keep myself quiet. I heard some ruffling outside the door and noticed a shadow on the other side. “I know this is a dumb question, but are you okay,” Jack asks through the door. “Yeah I’m fine,” I sniffle trying to pull myself together. “I can go grab Quinn if you want,” he started but I interrupted him. “Please don’t,” I said louder than I realized.
“Okay okay, I won’t. Is there anything I can do,” he was being really nice to me and I wondered why the rest of them didn’t. “No. I promise I’m fine. I’m just super emotional. It’ll pass,” I croak out my throat already getting irritated from the small amount of food I ate. “There is a cup next to the sink I use to rinse my mouth, I know it’s weird because you don’t know me. But you should fill it up and drink something your voice sounds shaky,” he says with a slight worry in his voice. I leaned over and unlocked the door. I see the middle Hughes brother leaning against the wall.
“It’s not from the crying. Well that probably isn’t helping, but I actually have a small seafood allergy,” I say hating the look he gives me. “Why the hell did you eat then,” he raises his voice and I quickly shushed him. “Keep your voice down, please. You heard them in the kitchen earlier, I didn’t wanna give them another reason to hate me. So I ate it. I’m not gonna die or anything. My throat is just scratchy and my eyes are puffy,” I say leaning back against the bathroom cabinet.
Jack crawls into the bathroom and sits opposite me leaning against the bathtub. “I’m really sorry about my parents,” he says after some time. “It’s okay,” I reply automatically. “No, it’s not. I know how bad it sucks trying to prove to someone you are worth it. I went through that and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. So no it is not okay,” he was very different than I imagined him. From Quinn’s stories, he was this goofy energetic guy who couldn’t sit still, but he was being so calm and serious right now. “Yeah I guess you’re right,” I whisper. “Are you gonna tell Quinn,” I ask looking up at him. He looks back at me conflicted. “I won’t tell him tonight. But if you haven’t by tomorrow I will.” The deadline he had given me made me sick to my stomach.
I stand up and splash cold water on my face. I try and make myself look somewhat presentable and turn around to see Jack leaning against the doorframe. “Thank you, Jack. It really made me feel better,” I say and he pulls me into a hug. I hear footsteps walking away from us and jump away from him. “Oh no,” I say rushing out of the door towards the hall. I make it to the kitchen just in time to see Luke telling Quinn what he just saw.
In his defense, it probably did look bad, but maybe if he had actually stopped for two seconds he would have known. “What the hell,” Quinn stands up from the couch and looks my way. By that time Jack had walked in and looked around the room. “Quinn? Are you still there,” I hear a voice coming from his phone and this time I don’t try and hide the tears. I knew who it was, I made myself watch all of her movies one night. “Hold on sweetie he’ll call you back,” Ellen says and hangs up the phone.
“You wanna say something or just stand there,” I have never heard him this mad. “Her say something? Quinn why don’t you say something,” Jack says walking forward and standing even with me. Quinn’s eyes shoot between the two of us and his nostrils flare. He was angry, and he had every right to be. But if he had every right, so did I. ”I’m sorry what the hell does that mean? Because from this side of the couch, it looks a lot like my girlfriend is all over my brother,” his words are laced with venom. Jim stands up and puts himself between the boys. “Quinn nothing is going on! Jack was just comforting me,” I say with a rough voice.
“Sure sounds like something happened,” he says face red with anger. I step back a step away from him, which only upset him more. “We have seen you all night looking at Jack. And every time he goes somewhere you go to,” Luke says defending one brother while glaring at the other one. “Unless you can give me the truth about what happened, I think maybe you should go,” his words pierce my heart like an arrow. “What,” I ask tears falling down my face at this point.
“The truth Y/n. And if you lie to me we are through,” he says stone-faced. I shake my head not even believing what is happening right now. I hoped all of this was some nightmare I was about to wake up from. “You honestly think I would come into your parent’s house and try and get with your little brother,” I ask not caring how rude I sounded. “Unless you give me a reason to think otherwise yes.” I shake my head and grab my jacket from the rack. “Where the hell do you think you’re going,” he asks following me. “You said leave so I am.” I opened the door and walked out not bothering to shut it.
The cold night air sent chills down my spine, but I think I would rather freeze than be inside that house any longer. The part that put the final nail in the coffin was that he let me walk out and he didn’t try to stop me. It was dark and I had no idea where I was. I reached in my pocket for my phone and I realized it was left on the table. “Fuck,” I let out all my emotions. I remembered a small diner not too far away so I started walking. I didn’t stop until I got there and noticed an older man locking the doors. “Excuse me are you closing,” I ask tears streaming down my face. He looks up at me and his eyes widen. I must look terrible and scare him.
“Eugene, honey grab my sweater from the truck please,” I hear a feminine voice come behind me. A nice older lady put her hand on the small of my back and ushered me into the building. “If you are closed I can leave,” I try and walk out but her grip is strong for an old lady. “Sweetheart there is no way I am leaving you outside in all of this,” she says sternly and leads me to a stool at the bartop. She quickly walks towards the back and I hear her clattering around. I feel something on my shoulders and see Eugene wrapping her sweater around me. I send him a sweet smile and his wife is back with three cups of hot chocolate.
“Alright sweetie get to talking,” she says patting my arm. I look between the two of them and sigh. I tell them the whole story, from meeting Quinn in Vancouver to tonight. They never once interrupted or made me feel like a burden for dumping my problems on them. “Here let me get these dishes and we can take you to a motel for the night and figure out the rest tomorrow,” Eugene says gathering up the cups and walking to the kitchen. Martha, his wife, put her hand on top of mine and smiled at me. “I’m sorry all this happened to you. Michigan really is a wonderful place. I hate your visit wasn’t,” she said. As they close up shop for the second time tonight, I wait for them outside their truck. Everything in me said don’t get in with them, but what else could I do? My thoughts are shut down when I hear someone yelling my name.
“Y/n, oh my gosh. I’m so glad I found you. You scared the shit out of me. Please don’t ever do that again,” Quinn rushes towards me wrapping me in his arms. I let him for a second and then I push him off. He looks at me and I can tell he has been crying. I hear a door shut and see Jack get out of the car and walk over. “Who are you two,” Eugen says walking over and putting himself in front of me. Martha pulled me into a hug, noticing I was crying again. “I’m her boyfriend Quinn. Who are you,” his voice is mixed with confusion and anger. Who the hell was this guy trying to “protect” you from him?
“Last time I checked I didn’t have one of those,” I say staring him dead in the eyes. His whole face dropped. Jack stayed a little ways back and watched everything go down. “Baby, please don’t say that. You don’t mean it,” Quinn says stepping closer. Eugene slides over blocking me once again. I step out of Martha’s embrace and put my arm on Eugene’s shoulder. He looked down at me and I nodded my head at him. The two older people step back and lean against their truck watching the whole thing. I walked towards the man I loved and frowned.
He took my actions as forgiveness and opened his arms. “No Quinn, I do mean it. You can’t actually believe after everything that just happened, I was just gonna jump in your arms and we ride off in the sunset?” He closed his arms and his body shook from the sob that left his mouth. “I will never ever be able to apologize enough for tonight. And I don’t think you should forgive me,” he says through tears. Seeing him like this hurt me, but he hurt me more. “Jack told me everything,” that was all he had to say. I looked behind him at the younger boy and he nodded.
“So you believe him? But not me,” I whisper barely being able to talk. “Y/n/n, please.” I shake my head. “Please what Quinn? I don’t know what you want from me,” I scream back frustrated. Jack walks forward and stands between us. I felt like shit putting him in the middle of us. “Please don’t leave me. I know I don’t deserve your forgiveness. I know I hurt you more tonight than I have ever hurt anyone else. I know that if you tell me to right now I will walk away,” he started,” but you know what else I know? I know that I have never been happier than I have in the past months with you. I know that I screwed up my chance at happiness tonight. And I also know that I may just lose the girl I love because of my own stupidity.”
After his speech, he just dropped to the ground and cried. I look away from him and to Eugene and Martha. Then I look over at Jack, who is already staring at me. “You love me,” I ask squatting down in front of him. He picks his head up and looks me in the eye. “Of course I do, I just have the shittest way of showing it I guess,” he says and a small laugh leaves my lips. His face perks up at that. “I love you too,” I say wiping the tears away from his eyes. He grabs my wrist and holds them in place. He seemed scared that I would disappear if he let go. He closed his eyes and finally took a normal breath.
“I don’t deserve it,” he says opening his eyes and looking over at me. “You know the funny thing, Hughes, you don’t get to decide that,” I say dropping down to my knees and moving my arms around his neck. He doesn’t wait another second and his are around my waist. He holds me tighter than he ever has before. “I am gonna spend every day for the rest of my life making up for the way I treated you tonight,” he says into my hair. “I know you will. You are a good man, Quinn, I think we just both got a little insecure tonight,” I say back. He nods and holds me while we sit on the ground outside the diner in the freezing air.
When we got back to the house I figured everyone was asleep. I followed Jack inside and saw everyone sitting on the couches with worried looks. Their heads snap up when they hear us walk in. “Oh thank the lord,” Ellen says rushing over. She stopped right before she got to me and looked at me. I nodded my head and she wrapped me up in her arms. “I am so sorry for the way I treated you tonight. I judged you before I even knew you and almost ruined everything,” she cried and I shook my head. “It’s gonna be all right. We can start over,” I say and she pulls back. “I would really like that,” she says wiping some tears from her face. Slowly everyone started going to bed and it was just Quinn and me.
“I waited until I was with you to do this,” he says as I get in bed next to him. I look over and he pulls out his phone and blocks his ex on everything, and then her number. “Quinn you didn’t,” he cut me off. “Yes, I did. I am a happily taken man who doesn’t need any contact with my ex,” he says looking down at me. I smile and give him a small kiss on the cheek. “I never thought I would be so happy for a kiss on the cheek in my life,” he said making me laugh. “Baby steps, Quinn,” I say laying my head on his chest. I knew we would have to have a longer talk, and that everything wasn’t going to be fixed immediately. Things were gonna take time, but I knew Quinn was worth it.

omg hiiii! i missed you! I honestly wish you would write a fic where jack and reader get caught kissing by either the avatar crew or the scream crew...or both tbh and then jack gets all flustered and awkward and yn is just like "yeah i did that"
I just thought it was a cute idea especially with your writing. No rush! I'm so glad your back and I hope you feel better now
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
lovebirds!
pairing ! - jack champion x reader
word count ! - 0.6k
a/n ! - hi babe!! sorry my hiatus was so long 😭 but i am feeling much better now since ive been distancing myself from some of the ppl that im in a somewhat toxic relationship with. but i hope you like this since i might be a little rusty lmao, this is also somewhat of a sequel to take one
Tumblr media
after meeting on the set of avatar 2, you and jack were very close to one another and your relationship got even better when you both found out you had roles in scream 6
jack was playing one of the ghostfaces, ethan landry, and you were playing his love interest who knew all about his family's little secret
you guys grew close to the cast, but chose to keep your relationship private since if there was one thing you knew about jack, it was that he got VERY flustered when people started teasing him about you and would basically just give away the whole secret
that's why the avatar cast knew about your relationship and which is why you made jack keep your relationship a secret from the scream cast
and it worked out just fine, you guys acted like a goofy duo in public and a couple who seemed really in love in private
until you decided one day that jack looked WAYYYY too kissable in his halloween outfit
you two were sitting on the set of the house where the frat party was taking place, jack in his murder party costume and you in the lavender fairy outfit
there was a few issues with the set that they were fixing and jenna, jasmin, and devyn were going over lines which left you very bored
jack nudged you with a small grin
"you look so bored out of your mind right now"
you turn to him with a smirk and he knew damn well you had an idea that he wasn't going to agree with but would go along with any way since he loved you so much
"well i am…can we go back to your trailer?"
"y/n/n…"
jack gave you a knowing look but still allowed you to drag him to his trailer
he sat down and you quicky sat next to him, kissing him as he swatted you away but was also bringing you closer at the same time?
"y/n your makeup is gonna get ruined…" jack murmured as you pulled away for air
"jack it's ok! they can just redo it" you replied, going in for another kiss and jack gave in, pulling you on his lap
you kept kissing for what felt like hours and you two were in your own little world that you didn't even hear devyn and jenna giggling and approaching the trailer
suddenly the door slams open and you hear jenna gasp and devyn squeal in excitement
"fuck fuck fuck" jack mutters, getting you off of his lap before one of them could get the other cast members to come
he stood up, pulling you up with him just as mason and jasmin came
"so we caught the two lovebirds kissing" devyn says with a grin as jenna nods excitedly
jack shakes his head and gets flustered but you on the other hand? you couldn't be more fazed
"ok yeah we were kissing, we're dating so what's the problem?"
everyone looks at you in shock even jack, not expecting you to be so straight forward with your relationship
"oh um nothing! it's just we're all shocked" mason replied, scratching the back of his neck
"we'll leave you two love birds now, just don't give her a hickey!" jasmin says, walking out as mason, jenna, and devyn follow her
devyn slams the door shut and jack looks down at you, feeling flustered
"well that was um"
you giggle and pull him down for a kiss, which he gladly accepted to soothe him from the shock of whatever the fuck he just witnessed

Dirty Tricks
A/n: Just something I had in my drafts… it’s kinda of angsty…
word count: 974
Tumblr media
After what felt like a lifetime she raised her eyes from the dark wood table, eyeing the people around before her eyes landed on the man sitting next to her boyfriend of two years—fiancés, she remembered looking at the emerald ring on her finger— she never had na kind of feelings against him… until now. She couldn’t even look at the other woman siting at the table with them. She felt… ambushed in that position, all by herself, with no one on her side—this wasn’t about her career after all, she was there only as Harry’s significant other—not even the man with whom she shared a private life.
She narrowed her eyes, the big eyes the world seemed to love so much, and looked at the member of the team who had voiced the idea with disdain—which everyone seemed to have been previously briefed about, but her— she scoffed before giving them a predatory grin.
“So… the movie is so shitty that it has to resort to dirty tricks to sell?” She asked no one in particular.
“Y/n…” She held up two fingers at her boyfriend’s manager, fixing him a medusa glare.
“I’am talking, Jeffrey, wait your turn.” She said with bite, her eyes finally going to Harry, she was furious with him for being put in such a position. “Let’s talk H, is this what you think is best for your career?”
“Maybe this is not the place…”Jeff tried to say.
“He’s a grow ass man, Jeff, let him talk for himself.” Her eyes didn’t move from her uncomfortable boyfriend. Harry hated confrontation, worst of all a public one. “I am going to repeat myself: Is THIS what YOU think is the best? Pushing ME to the background of your life, for a bullshit stunt you don’t need? Is it what you honestly believe is the best your career?”
“Jeff believes…” Harry started, finally looking at her.
Y/n rolled her eyes scoffing at his answer.
“I am not asking for Jeff’s opinion Harry.” His face fell as he looked at her, his usually calm fiancee looking livid, properly furious, in a way he only had seen her while acting.
“Babe, this isn’t what I want, you know that, but the team believe is going to be good for the movie and for my image, and I trust my team.” He tried to appease her, placing his hand over hers, only for her to take it away. “It’s fake, Y/n, not that different from you flirting with your co-stars in interviews.”
She looked at him shocked. “It’s very different Harry, and if you can’t see it…” She was done being there, it wasn’t her career, it wasn’t her choice, she had a photoshoot to attend and a interview to give.
She git up from her chair and gave them all a diplomatic smile, she took the emerald from her finger, placing it in front of Harry on the table, ignoring his shocked expression, “I have the shoot for my Vanity Fair cover, and later I am going to a meeting with Mark, I will either stay at his guest house or the Marmont.” She said looking exclusively at Harry. “You have till tomorrow to make a decision, if you want to go forward with this, fine, as I said, it is your career, but I don’t want your stuff at my place when I get back, Jeff can help you finding a new place.”
She adjusted her jacket over her shoulders and placed her Dior sunglasses on her face. “Jeffrey, it was good seeing you.” she said sarcastically, before turning her back and leaving.
She was followed out of the room by Harry. He grabbed her arm, preventing her from entering the elevator.
“Lovie, let’s talk about this…” He tried, his hand going up and down her arm. In her heels they are almost the same height.
“There is nothing to talk about Harry, you know where I stand, I won’t stand by and watch my fiancé acting like he’s in love with some other woman,” She looked him in the eyes. “it is hurtful that you’re okay with keeping me a secret like I am a embarrassment to you,” Y/n let out a sarcastic laugh, “honestly, I am a critical acclaimed actress, and your management treat me like I don’t matter, she’s a B-list actress no one cares about, and they are dealing with her like she’s gold, and you agree! Because you’re willing to keep me as your hidden dirty little secret, and show her off to the world pretending that you love her, and you know that we won’t be able to be seen together in public while it is going on, and I will be the man-stealer no matter what when this shit ends.” Y/n refused to cry in front of him. “And you knew this is what was going to be talked about, and you let me come in blind, you let them ambush me.”
Harry was at loss of words.
“It hurts when the man you’re planning to get married to, treat’s you like second best…” She paused for a minute to control o sob that threatened to come out. “You really showed me were I stand in your list of priorities.”
She pulled away from him and pressed the elevator button.
“Treat me like and option and I will leave you like a choice.” She told him with a bitter smile. “I love you H, but I don’t need you, it will hurt like fucking hell, but in a month I’ll have moved on.” She said getting into the elevator, feeling sad that that may be the last time she sees him.
Harry always let himself be controlled by his management, he wasn’t a push over but he didn’t enjoy confrontations and ‘Jeff knows best’.

Lone Wolf chapter Fourteen coming Tuesday September 5th, 6am CT/8pm KST
Chapter summary: Your second heat with the pack begins, and Yoongi, Jimin and Hoseok promise to make it better than any before.
Warnings: SMUT (I honestly didn't think this was gonna happen), penetrative sex, use of sex toys, unprotected sex, LOTS of kissing and touching, nightmares, talks of past trauma.
WC: 14k
A longer chapter means a longer teaser!!! below the cut!!!
Although he hadn't seen the youngest alpha get up, he'd seen the pack's bedroom door open, so he knew he must be around somewhere. He wasn't playing games in the living room, so Hobi looked for him in the sun room at the front of the house that had been granted to him as his art studio. But he wasn't there either. So Hobi went to the backdoor and slipped into someone's slides. Noticing the door to the detached garage was open, he set off across the spacious back yard in that direction.
Inside the dusty outbuilding was an assortment of things that Hoseok either hadn't yet found a place for or wasn't willing to let go of, alongside tools and Hobi's ambitions for a blooming garden by the time summer came around, but no cars. He did, however, find his alpha. Taehyung must have been lost in thought, because he jumped a little when Hobi spoke.
"What's an alpha like you doing all the way out here?" He asked in that teasing voice he seemed to love using most on Tae.
"I thought I'd get started on your garden finally," he said flatly. "If we keep putting it off, the season will go by."
"You need to start today?"
"It's a beautiful day," Tae countered. Hoseok didn't miss the fact that the alpha hadn't looked at him once since he walked in, so he stepped forward to place a hand on his cheek. The two men were almost exactly the same height, so it wasn't difficult for Hobi to meet him eye to eye.
"Is something on your mind?" He asked. Tae closed his eyes and took a breath, breathing in the scent of you.
"It's just kind of strange, y'know. Spending time with her yesterday, I guess I felt like I was on the inside track, and now I feel so far outside. I just want to see her and talk to her and…"
"Fuck her brains out?"
"I'm not a pig, Hoseok…. But I am an alpha so like just a little bit. Yeah, I guess," he chuckled while his ears reddened. "I just want to spend some time outside until the others come back, so you don't have to worry about me."
Hoseok smiled as he placed his other hand on the other side of Tae's face and stroked his beautiful high cheekbones. "That's fine, baby boy. It's good to keep yourself busy," he agreed before he kissed his lips gently. "You're doing a great job. And I'm sure as soon as this is all over, you'll be right back where you were with her."
Taehyung's eyes sparked with hope. "I hope so. How is she doing?"
Hoseok attempted to keep his smile in place, but Taehyung knew it well enough to see how the corners of his lips drooped. "She's getting through it. It's not easy for her. It doesn't mean to her what it means to us. Not yet anyway."
Taehyung frowned. "Do you ever see her and think how lucky you are that you got to grow up with your family?" Hobi hummed. "The ways she doesn't know how to be herself are more heartbreaking than the scars of how people have hurt her."
"I'm trying my best–" Hoseok's voice broke at the thought of continuing your life as you'd been living it.
"You're doing so well with her. Sometimes I think the luckiest thing will be her having you. Not to disrespect Yoongi hyung, but he can only make her physically safe. Which is important but…I don't know if it would ever matter if you weren't there to stop her from hurting herself on the inside."
Hoseok lowered his eyes and shook his head. "Sometimes the things she says make me so mad, if they came from anyone else, I'd slap them right in the mouth."
Taehyung laughed. "Well, don't do that, and I think she'll keep learning from you. You're good for her."
"I'm just doing my best. I can't fix her."
"You don't have to fix her. I know you love her. That's enough."
Hobi thought it over for a moment. "I guess I do…like I would a child."
Tae snorted. "Sure, hyung. Like a child."

Am I the asshole for being incredibly off putting?
First of all, hi everyone from Tumblr! It's my first time using this and I've heard people here are deranged so I'm looking forward to meeting everyone :3
So, let's start this thingy. I (22 F) live in the Uncanny Valley. To put it simply it's like, a whole realm of fucked up and weird stuff that isn't suitable for the regular world, things that break laws of nature and physics and blah blah blah.
I'm not a human, though my species does have a similar appearance. See, I am what's called a "Mutilator". We Mutilators are immortal and extremely masochistic creatures that have the best regenerative abilities ever. Pain to us is equal ectsasy, relief, and dopamine. So, as expected, we're always running into danger, getting ourselves destroyed, then we regenerate, and then repeat. Long periods of time without any pain can be... stressful. To us, self harm = self care.
So, yeah, I'm used to pulling out my organs or tearing my skin or bashing my head against any given wall, and all sorts of things. Personally, my favorite thing to do is get impaled, but that's just me :3
However, sometimes, a few peeps from the normal world end up here in the Uncanny Valley somehow. This happened recently, a group of friends all ended up here together, and, well, they're staying with my friend U. P (?? Not sure what he is. He's upside down, I guess?) for the time being. However, every so often when U. P needs his house free of anyone else or whatever, they usually go to other places. Sometimes to my friend S.S, sometimes to a hotel in Steel City, and sometimes, to my house.
Recently they needed to stay overnight at my place, since the Steel City hotel was out of free rooms and S.S's house is very... minimalistic. So, I welcomed them in, things were going pretty well, buuut one of the guys, A (21, M) started getting kinda mad at me, and for what? Just because I was missing my lower half? Or maybe it was the knife in my chest... Well, anyway, he was kinda pissy, saying he wouldn't be able to sleep here because he'd have nightmares, and how my decorations are disturbing, and how he almost stepped in a bear trap.
Well, I told him:
His dreams aren't my business
That he just can't understand my refined taste
And apologized for the bear trap because yeah I forgot to disarm that one before they came
Then we started arguing, so I told him that he was welcome to just fuck off, and he did! I didn't expect he'd actually do it! Honestly I feel kinda bad now, I guess I kinda did overestimate how much gore people from the normal world can handle, and also our argument downed the mood for everyone else...
I'm also kinda worried. There aren't many things in the Uncanny Valley that are inherently evil but there are plenty that are dangerous, especially for a regular human who's been here for, what, two weeks?
So, yeah, was I the asshole here?

“Hey,” Jisung says as he opens the door gently, you stand there staring down at your shoes as he speaks, you feel slightly rude not looking at him as you mutter a pathetic ‘hello’ to him. The door swings open wider, granting you space to walk inside. Keeho walks in before you, carrying your suitcases, as you clutch your favorite stuffed animal. The familiar feeling of embarrassment nulls the rest of your senses. You hadn’t felt like this since your first time walking into Keeho’s home seven months ago, only this time it’s worse. This time instead of coming into a friend's home, someone you’d known for years; you’re walking into a home full of people you’d barely even met.
“It’s just until I get back,” Keeho whispers, as he gently nudges you forward. Hesitantly you walk in and observe your new living space. The house is nice so far, the living room is large and clean, and the kitchen is modern. There are stairs leading up just on the further side of the room, large windows spanned the far wall allowing for the orange colors of the setting sun to seep right in. Your bags are placed down with a thud, as Keeho straightens himself out, standing tall beside you. “Thanks, Ji. Seriously, this means a lot to us” he says. The unease of being in a new place is bearable but the thought of having to call this home for the next few months, doesn’t sit right. This isn’t home, not yours at least. A few voices sound from upstairs, muffled behind closed doors.
“No problem, honestly. Everyone’s happy to have her, and Min’s pretty excited to have another girl in the house.” Min? Another girl? Meeting Jisung’s other roommates was something you had prepared yourself for but there was never any mention of another girl living in the house, and the idea of that scared you. It wasn’t typically hard for you to get along with other women, but you’d surrounded yourself so much with the boys you’d almost forgotten what the company of a woman would be like, and Leah was hardly a good example of sisterhood among women.
“Ah, I’m sure she is; living with you guys must be rough. Can’t imagine how she’s survived.” Keeho laughs,
“mmm, “ Jisung hums, “She might actually be worse than the rest of us, you should hear her at night it’s-”
“Woah I don’t want to know!” Keeho blushes, clearly making a presumption about the end of Jisung’s sentence.
“Not like that you creep.” Jisung laughs, “She plays fucking league of legends, valorant, and shit she gets riled up screams at her teammates, honestly sometimes I wonder how Chan is the one with a banned account and not her, I mean her toxicity is way up there sometimes” he giggles as he turns to you, watching as you look around and take in the new environment. She’s toxic enough for Jisung to wonder why her online games haven’t banned her, you think to yourself, Fuck how am I even going to speak to her?
“She yelled at you, didn't she?” Keeho snickers as Jisung side eyes him,
“Yea- THAT’S NOT THE POINT KEEHO” Jisung whines, loud thumps come from upstairs making their way towards the stairs, the girl you could only assume Jisung yells out to him,
“ARE YOU STILL TALKING SHIT JI?” She yells, “I SWEAR TO GOD JISUNG THE NEXT TIME YOU INT ME IN A RANKED GAME, WILL BE THE LAST TIME WE DUO” She stares up at Jisung who turns to her un-phased, “And I’ll report you for inting. Maybe post on twitter how shit you are at Lea-” slowly her gaze falls on you, she quiets down quickly as her face flushes a bright shade of red, “Oh shit-” she mutters, “You’re here,” you smile up at the girl, her eyes still narrowed as she looks at Jisung, “You should have warned me you fucking moron,” She says before turning back around, “I’ll be right back!”
“Hey wait!” Jisung calls out, reaching out for her as if magically he’d be able to pull her from the stairs to the front door, “Where's your friend?” he asks, her face is dark from the hood she has pulled over her head and her expression is slightly unreadable,
“Why do you want to know?” she smirks,
“I just want to know if she’s staying for dinner or not.” He sighs, another person in the house, ‘It won’t be overwhelming Y/N’ ‘It’ll be fine Y/N’ Kee you liar.
“Why does it matter to you, you’re not the one that cooks in the house.” she smirks again, as Jisung looks up at her with eyes that silently tell her to ‘shut the fuck up’  she’s with Chan in his room anyway”
“WAIT JISUNGS COOKING?” More loud thuds come from upstairs, a door slamming open as someone leans over the railing, “WAIT YOU CAN COOK?” She laughs, “Who’d have known!”
“Shut it Maddy and go back to eating Chan’s face or something,” Jisung sighs, the girl laughs loudly as she walks away back into the room she came from,
“We’re just watching videos, you loser!”
“Sure you are!” he yells back,
“Don’t be mad ‘cause it aint you!” She yells back before the door slams shut, Jisung fakes a gag which earns him a pillow to the face thrown directly at him by the other girl who still stood on the stairs, quickly she turns back around and runs back up hiding herself in her hoodie and disappearing into the second level. A door shuts, and now you’re back to being with only Keeho and Jisung.
“Sorry,” Jisung mutters, “Maddy and Mini are something.” You give him a weak smile, you were told you’d just be meeting his roommates, you didn’t expect another girl, and NOW a friend of said girl, and Chan? “I’ll introduce you to Min, Hyunjin, and Changbin after you get settled,” you nod as he turns back to Keeho. “Have fun on tour,” he smiles widely, genuinely. Jisung brings Keeho into a hug, as he wishes him luck and fun on his adventure around the world. You stare up at Keeho wishing, for a moment he’d just take you with them; but you know that he can’t. That’s not how it works.
After a few more minutes of chatting, Keeho pulls you into a tight hug. “I’ll be back soon, Y/N/N” you sigh into his chest as he whispers to you that it’s only going to be a few months, that you can call him whenever, that even if he isn’t physically present; he’s still here for you. You know he is. You know he’d never leave you alone willingly and you know that you can talk to him whenever you want but it wasn’t that. It was still the idea of being with new people you barely know.
ꕀ❀ꕀ
“And that’s the entire first floor.” Jisung says as you slowly follow behind him, the first floor was mainly the kitchen, and a utility room connected to it. The living room being the centerpiece of the first floor. It had a small powder room, and a larger room filled with mixing equipment, microphones, and different instruments all crammed into it.
As he finishes showing you the last room, Chan makes his way down the stairs smiling warmly as he spots you, “Y/N,” he takes wide strides towards you as the other girl who’s voice you’d only heard follows closely behind him, “good to see you again,” he brings you into a tight hug; your body tenses up. Unsure as to why he’s even hugging you in the first place. He lets you go as the girl walks up slowly beside him, placing herself into the situation. Shit. You think to yourself, avoiding eye contact with her as you mumble a quick ‘you too’.
“Hi,” the girl says cheerfully, as she extends her hand; you take it cautiously hoping for her not to squeeze too tightly as a warning of coming near what seems to be her man. “I’m Maddy!”
“Y/N, nice to meet you,” your cheeks turn a light shade of rose, as you look at the ground. She holds your hand softly as she introduces herself.
“I should get going! But it was nice to meet you Y/N! Hope to see you again,” she smiles, waving goodbye; she wasn’t as bad as you had thought but still. What an uncomfortable way to meet someone. Chan quickly follows her to the door, leaning down to her height to give her a quick kiss goodbye. “Goodnight,” she smiles, before quickly changing from a sweet and soft voice to screaming up the stairs. “BYE MIN!!” She waits a moment, no answer. “Bitch probably can’t hear me over her game,” she giggles while opening the door, just as she walks out Jisung let’s out a loud sigh. “What Ji?”
“You hate me just say it,” he whimpers, truly looking at her like a kicked puppy.
“True” she laughs,
“Wow.”
“Shut up,” she continues giggling as she rushes over to give him a hug, he smiles at her embrace; letting her go as a car pulls up to the driveway, headlights beaming in through the windows. She rushes out the door, Chan who stands by it watches her until the very moment the car takes off.
“Sorry,” Jisung’s face shows clear signs of embarrassment, does he like Chan’s girlfriend? “Let’s get your stuff upstairs,” he goes to pick up one of your suitcases, but Chan beats him to it. Picking up both leaving Jisung to grab only the small backpack you had with you.
“I got it, you show her upstairs,” Chan walks in front of you, trudging up the stairs, muscles flexing as he carries the two heavy bags. Jisung motions with his arms, for you to follow Chan up as he follows behind. The stairs led to a smaller open area, with two hallways leading into multiple different rooms. A large clean  shared bathroom in the middle of the hallways to the left.
“That’s Changbin, and Chan’s bathroom,” Jisung smiles. The three bedrooms in the hall all had their doors closed with names labeled above them. Chan, Bin, Han. They read. “We put those there for you, so you could find whoever you needed.” His voice indicated he was shy about mentioning how they’d thought of labeling themselves, all for your sake. He takes a quick right into the further hall, where three more doors sit closed. Chaos, Hyun, Mini & Y/N “I hope you don’t mind,” he whispers, “Mini said she’d share her room.” share her room. If you didn’t think you were already intruding, you definitely did now. Knowing you’d have to share a room.
“W-what’s the ‘chaos’ room?”
“Gaming mainly, it’s where Mini put her pc when she first moved in, from there we kind of just decided to let her have it. Chan put some sound boards up to try and muffle her screaming, it helps. A bit.” he laughs as he opens the room. The lights were off but the colors from the computer shone brightly throughout, pinks and purples, as the silent pc sat turned on. Two Monitors, displaying colorful moving backgrounds of animated characters. LED lights wrapped around the room, a camera connected to the PC by organized wires, a ring light sat tucked in a corner. The room is what you would expect out of one of those big streamers you often see on twitch or YouTube. The wall behind the large black and white chair had a nice backdrop, but the one behind the pc was covered to the max in posters, polaroid's, and light sticks hanging from command hooks.
“Is that a-”
“Photocard inside the pc?” Jisung laughs, “Yes, she says it gives her good luck in games.”
“She streams?”
“Sometimes, I think this is mainly stuff from her old place; she used to do a bunch of content on different sites but stopped recently.” he closes the door quietly, as Chan drops the bags in front of the door labeled Mini & Y/N. “I’ll go get her,” he smiles, walking towards Hyunjin’s door. He taps on it lightly, and someone rushes to open it. She opened it quickly, smiling as she walked out and closing it behind her. You can finally get a good look at the person you’d now be sharing a room with. Her name, Mini, was the opposite of her. She’s taller than both Chan and Jisung, with long hair split-dyed down the middle. Black and white, she wore a large black hoodie and a baggy pair of sweats. “Min, this is Y/N.” Jisung says, as she approaches you. “Y/N this is-”
“Mini, Moni, whatever works, sorry about earlier. I was expecting you later.” her voice is soft, but not high pitched, a calming mid range honestly. Jisung looks back to you, attempting to read your expression but you offer him nothing. Just a weak smile.
“Y/N, nice to meet you.” She smiles at you, bringing you into a tight hug.
“Be nice to have another girl around here,” She giggles,
“Yeah, as if you’re a girl.” Jisung snorts,
“Do you want to die now? Or should I smother you while you sleep?” She gives him a glare, and he quickly backs down. “Go take Hyune to the store. I planned dinner. He knows what to get. I’ll get her settled in because god knows you’re not going anywhere near my room.” Jisung nods as he walks towards Hyunjin’s room, looking back at you with caring eyes before slipping quickly into the room. Mini takes you inside her room. It’s nice, the same large windows spanned one wall, a large bed with a fluffy black duvet and matching pillows was centered against the furthest wall. The room is a light shade of blue, while most of her décor was white, a few paintings hung on her walls, and a study desk sat against the windowed wall. The closet was large, and the door to the washroom within the room was kept open. “It’s not much, everything else is in the other room-” she says nervously,
“No- It’s nice.” you say, she smiles weakly at you before laying one of your suitcases across the bed.
“I cleared out the closet the best I could for you-” she says as she opens the door, half of it empty with hangers waiting for your clothes to be placed, “and this is the washroom,” she walks over with you following. It was a nice size, for sure big enough for two. What you found most interesting was the shower, it was huge. The tub centered inside of it, honestly it looked like it had popped out of a ‘bathroom inspo’ Pinterest page. “This used to be the master bedroom.” she says softly, “Boys gave it to me expecting us to use it since-”
“Us?” You ask, you didn’t mean to let it out. Your mouth simply started before your brain could catch up,
“Mhm,” she hums, “Hyune and I”
“Ah so you’re Hyunjin’s girlfriend.” she nods, “Explains the photocard in your pc” you awkwardly laugh as you mention it, of course this was his girlfriend, what else should you have expected? She came out of his room, she had mentioned him already and let alone the photocard, it should have connected by now.
“You’re Keeho’s girlfriend right?” she asks, you could tell she’d been trying to find the right words, as she fiddled with her rings.
“No, just a childhood friend,” you say, it wasn’t the first time you’d been mistaken for being his girlfriend, people had assumed many times before. You two were just close, and it often led to misconceptions of how the two of you felt towards each other. You had never really considered it but if you looked deep down you knew all you felt from him was a platonic love, similar to the one you should feel towards siblings. “I get it all the time,” you assure her, as she looks at you as if she’d just offended your family, concerned.
“Fuck- Sorry I shouldn’t have assumed,”
“To be fair I assumed about you too-”
“Yeah but that’s a fair assumption,”
“So was yours,” the two of you laugh together, and hard. The first sign of life you’d given since arrival. Talking to her was awkward, but only because you didn’t know her; but as she warmed up to you, you warmed up to her as well. She quickly rushes to shut the door as Hyunjin’s swings open, Jisung’s voice booming loudly through the halls as he screams out they were off to the store, and that if anyone wanted anything to text them.
“Sorry he’s so fucking loud all the time-” she giggles.
ꕀ❀ꕀ
Mini helped you unpack as the two of you spoke, getting to know each other. You learned she’s a film student and that her favorite colors are black and red. She listened carefully to every detail you told her about yourself, and showed genuine interest in the things you liked. The fear of her slowly dissipated as the two of you talked and laughed. She seemed intimidating, a cold look to her when you’d first been introduced but as the hours passed, you came to see she was warm, like a summer breeze.
“Can I ask you something?” she says as she props herself up on the bed, you stare back at her as you finish hanging your last shirt,
“Shoot,”
“What’s it like being friends with Keeho, and his group?”
“I should be asking you that question, what’s it like being friends with Stray Kids?”
“Hell.” she mutters, “Jisung is so loud all the time, and he says I’M the one that yells?” you chuckle at her response, “All seriousness they’re great people, I’m lucky to have met Jeongin.”
“Jeongin?” she hums in response laying back down as she stares at the ceiling,
“I had a film study with this director for one of their videos. Great opportunity by the way. Anyways Jeongin was looking over some of his parts and he wasn’t too happy with his performance, nerves or something. I don’t remember how the conversation went, but as a film student I also had to take writing, and acting courses. You know; to create jobs when you don’t have one or something.” she sighs, “So we got to talking, I kind of said the basic first year acting class bullshit my teacher said, but he seemed so grateful. Next thing you know he was talking to me every time we were on set and he didn’t have scenes to film-”
“I swear this is starting to sound like a romance,”
“NO!” She laughs, “not at all, more like people with the same goal. He wanted to do well for the fans, and I wanted to make sure he did well for the fans. I wasn’t much help but- he was kind. The guys took notice that he’d be around me all the time, kinda reminded me of my little brother. Chan introduced himself first but after that I didn’t see them as often. Then get this-” she sits up excitedly, her eyes glistening as she recounts the memory. “I got an assistant job with the director, I did so well apparently that I was able to get a fucking job! Even after I changed my hair, my appearance, everything Jeongin remembered me the next time we saw each other like- a year and a half later!”  she lets out a sound you can only register as something endearing, “he said, ‘Mini! You’re back! I can’t wait to show you my improvements!’ and he did so good. I was absolutely stunned, I mean he was talented before but this time around he was even better! The shoot went so well, they had invited a lot of the staff for a dinner after the video release! I spent most of the night with him, talking about film and photography. And he goes-” she clears her throat before mimicking Jeongin's voice “You need to meet Hyunnie~ Only he talks about that stuff the way you do, you’ll get along! And then boom, there I am arguing with him over which film camera is better for like an hour. While the rest of them laughed at us~” you could tell by her voice how excited she was, you could see in her eyes how much love she held for both Jeongin and Hyunjin. She groans as she looks at you, completely entranced by her answer, “I didn’t wanna talk about me,” she huffs, “Go on tell me your story!” you think to yourself about the first time you’d met Keeho,
“I mean I knew Kee, when he was Stephen” you giggle, walking back towards the bed and placing yourself on the opposite end of her, “Family friends, we grew up together, he’s basically a younger brother to me”
“No way you’re older than him!” she exclaims, almost shocked at the fact.
“Mhm, Then he came here. He’s been here longer than me but, when I moved in with him last year I felt like I was at home ya know?” she nods, “Three years I’ve been here and nothing felt more like home than being with him,”
“Five years? Wait you just said-”
“I lived with Kee for about seven months of those three years, I lived with J- an ex. But Kee was quick on taking me in when it failed, but I have known the other boys since debut mainly, they’re also hell.” you change the subject quickly avoiding talking more about your relationship, your failed one at that. “Kee, Intak and Taeyang are the ones I spend most of my time with, they’re like grown toddlers I swear to you.” she laughs at your response before agreeing with the statement, “Are all boys stupid?” you giggle,
“YES! Oh my god.” A soft knock at the door ends the conversation quickly, which to you came as a slight blessing. Your mind, though distracted for most of the evening, was slowly starting to revert to its thoughts of Leah and him.
“Hyune say’s dinner is ready,” Chan says softly as he opens the door, “Bin won’t be home till later, something about a plan you came up with?” Mini’s eyes widen as she leaps off the bed, standing quickly and rushing to the door, grabbing Chan by the shoulders before jumping up and down excitedly,
“HE DID IT, HE DID IT” she yells out, “HE FINALLY ASKED HER OUT!” She lets out a high pitched squeal as both you and Chan look at her confused.

At dinner, Mini sat next to Chan, Hyunjin in front of her while you sat beside him. Jisung sat on the far end of the table as he scribbled down notes into a small journal. It was a nice dinner, and the conversation flowed. Mainly questions about yourself as everyone tried to get to know you a bit more, still the awkwardness of being around a new group of people persisted and to make everything worse, your phone buzzed non stop throughout all of it. The group had told you multiple times to answer, that it would be fine. Maybe it was Keeho checking up on you before his flight. You only had not checked because you were worried it’d come off as rude, so as clean up began you excused yourself to check the messages.

I HAVE AN IMPORTANT QUESTION ~Leaaah
UGH ~Leaaah
You sigh, as you look at the messages. Instantly a new one comes in.
FINALLY YOU READ MY MESSAGES, IM CALLING NOW~Leaaah
You really should turn off read receipts. The call comes in and you reluctantly answer it, it’d been two days of non stop messages; you’ve answered every question you could possibly think of so what now did she want?
“Y/n where have you been!” she sighs, instinctively you roll your eyes as her high pitched voice leaves a ringing in your ears. “Doesn’t matter anyways I have a favor to ask,”
“What is it?”
“Well it’s not really a favor, you’re my maid of honor so you have to do it, anyways I got my binder sorted out and I wanna go over some things with you, so we're meeting tomorrow at one pm.”
“Where?”
“Your place”
“No Leah, I can’t-”
“You HAVE to!” She cries out, you know that as her maid of honor you had a duty of going over the planning with her, being there for her through every step. Not only as her maid of honor but as her sister, but truthfully you weren’t ready to help plan what should have been your wedding. You remember day dreaming of the day he’d ask, you remember your little scrapbook of things you’d wish to have, one that never saw the light of day. One you kept tucked away in secret, the only person having seen it being her.
“Ok, I’ll figure it out. Just not here-”
“PERFECT TEXT ME THE ADDRESS” She yells before abruptly hanging up the call. You let out a loud sigh as you walk back into the living room, sitting down carefully on the couch where everyone else sat playing an intense game of Super Smash Brothers, Jisung on the other hand was nowhere to be seen.
“All good?” Mini asks, as she focuses on the screen in front of her, furiously smashing on the buttons of the control.
“Yeah, just my sister wanting to meet with me to plan her wedding.” you sigh,
“Oh congrats, that's great! When?” Chan says,
“Tomorrow, but I don’t know where to take her for it-”
“Just bring her here, the boys can lock themselves away in their rooms since they have the day off!” Mini smirks as she pushes Hyunjin off the platform in game, he grunts as he looks at her as if he’d been betrayed.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea-” “Should be fine, just us anyways and Jeongin but we’ll be upstairs mostly. I’ll make snacks” Hyunjin says, as he stands from the couch, stretching his long limbs out with a loud yawn.
“Oh- Okay,” you sigh.

As you lay in Mini’s bed you stare into the ceiling, wondering if it was a good idea to invite Leah into a house that wasn’t even yours. Everyone had insisted that it was fine, but you knew Leah. She’d be distracted at the sight of them, she only knew a few of the boys of Seventeen well and often gawked at anyone remotely famous. Whether that be a tiktok person with a few thousand followers, or an actual celebrity you couldn’t help but think slightly ill of your sister. She’d always wanted to be someone, something more than what she was. She wanted fame, she wanted to be recognized. She wouldn’t go to any extremes to gain it, but she wanted it. Doesn’t everyone want to be more than they are? Doesn’t everyone wish for some sort of fame? That’s why you chose to go into college as a music major, was it not? To gain something? Some sort of relevance, in your irrelevant little life. Because isn’t everyone's life irrelevant if the world doesn’t know who you are? Sure, most of the songs you’d produced were sold off, you were merely a ghost writer, but it would be nice if someone told you how much they admired your music, it would be nice to be recognized for your work. The difference was that you worked for what you wanted, though nothing had come from it yet. Leah wanted it to come simply, Leah wanted to be noticed because she’s pretty, and ‘don’t pretty people become famous overnight?’. Yeah she had attempted her luck on tiktok, YouTube, and being one of those ‘Instagram’ models, but she offered nothing of substance.
Leah had no niche, she wasn’t funny in the eyes of the internet, nor did she create videos that were ‘captivating’ most if not all of the time she relied on her looks, lip syncing to songs hoping to become the next Bella Poarch or Addison Rae.
And, That’s just not how it works.
You tossed and turned the entire night, hoping Leah would be on her best behavior, and lightly thanking Mini for sleeping in Hyunjin’s room because by the way you were rolling about the bed, you’re sure you’d only keep her awake.

“Mm, you sure you want me to stay? I can go bother Jeongin and Jisung upstairs..” Mini says as she sits upright on the couch, looking mostly uncomfortable.
“Yeah, Leah said she wanted to make girl friends so-” you trail off as the bell rings, you’re quick to open the door. Not even a hello leaves your sisters lips, she just simply walks in as if she owns the place. Walking right past you to admire the home,
“Cute~” She winks at you, “Oh HI! You must be the other girl!” she exclaims as she rushes to Mini who now looks even more uncomfortable. Leah brings her into a hug, as Mini gives you wide eyes, barely even touching your sister. She doesn’t like being touched on some days. You remember, and this was one of those days.
“Hi,” Mini says, “Monica, nice to meet you.” She had told you the night before how much she hated her name, how much she preferred Moni, or Mini over ever being called Monica so why would she introduce herself that way?
“So where is everyone else!” she yells out excitedly,
“Upstairs minding their own business” Mini laughs,
“Tell them to come say hi, if they’re going to be my sister's friends they should be mine too!” Of course, she doesn’t say hello and immediately asks to meet the people that even you, barely know. This was just how Leah is. The sound of a door creaking open, loud music finding its way down the hall, as footsteps sound near the stairs. Jisung casually strolls down, followed by Chan, Jeongin, Hyunjin, and Changbin. “Ee'' Leah lets out, “You must be the members of SKZ I've heard sooooo much about you!” Leah jumps, “My sister is obsessed with you guys!” Maybe it was in her tone, but you could swear she was trying to embarrass you in front of them, “Like literally obsessed, can’t believe she’s even functioning in front of you right now!” Jisung shoots you a concerned look, one that read ‘what is she saying’ you shrug at him, and he puts on a smile quickly,
“Oh thank god someone likes our music,” He laughs, “I was worried we’d be starving artists for life!” Leah is quick to laugh at his joke, “I’m Han.” he says extending a hand, Han. His introduction to her was different from the way he’d introduced himself to you. He was being professional.
“I.N,” Jeongin smiles, as he walks up to Mini placing a hand on her head which she immediately shakes off, as he smirks down at her.
“Bang Chan,”
“Changbin,”
“Hyunjin.” They were all, including Mini, being professional. As if speaking to a fan of the group and not your family member. They were being careful.
Something in Hyunjin’s body language seemed off. The night before he was relaxed, maybe it wasn’t your place to judge how he carried himself, and you don’t know him well enough to be able to read him but you do know that he’s tense. Giving Leah a side eye she seemed to miss. “Oh, Y/N” he says seemingly relaxing as he approaches you, “I added you to the group chat this morning for the house, we kind of just use it for whatever. Talking, and plans, all that stuff.”
“Ohh cute! A group chat, awe Y/N I wanna be in it!” Leah whines. Had you never noticed how Leah always managed to inject herself into situations that were clearly not meant for her? Have you always looked at your sister with loving eyes? Were you a terrible person for thinking she was looking for attention, from people she doesn’t know?
Hyunjin gives Mini a look, a look of ‘For what’.
His expressions are easy to read, his emotions clearly conveyed from a glance, as he faced Mini with his back towards Leah. Mini glances at Chan, who quickly speaks up.
“Hah, I mean it’s just a housemate thing, he says we talk but it's mainly grocery lists. You’d get bored of it, ya know?” nervously he looks at Leah whos nodding away agreeing with his statements,
“True, I would! You should see the group chat I have with my boys, gosh they’re so all over the place, honestly it’s best for me to not join another!” bragging. She’s either bragging, or playing off the fact she was denied something she wanted.
“Anyways we came down because we were gonna get some snacks so- we’ll be off” Changbin says as Jeongin walks back carrying a bowl full of packaged snacks, Hyunjin reaches for one of the packages before immediately getting scolded by Jeongin,
“HEY!” he huffs, “What would Seungmin say,” Hyunjin rolls his eyes before snatching the snack and racing up the stairs,
“What he doesn’t see, he can’t nag me for!” he laughs, as the rest of them chase him down.
“Awe, he’s such a cutie” Leah giggles, causing Mini to sit up.
“He is, honestly I let him get away with way too much because of that face” She giggles, “Remind me to call Seungminnie to snitch on him later Y/N,'' you nod “Seriously Y/N don’t let me forget, even if he threatens to break up with me don’t let me give in to those puppy dog eyes he’ll give me later!” You laugh at the comment as she eases the mood, while drawing a line that she in fact was Hyunjin’s girlfriend. Engaged or not, she wasn’t going to let the hopeful look in Leah’s eyes slide.
“Anyways, look what I found!” Leah dismisses the comments made, sitting down comfortably on the couch as she leans over the coffee table, rummaging through her bag and pulling out a blush pink binder, then slowly pulling out a smaller green scrapbook. Your scrapbook. “I found it in a box at the house!” she smiles, “Ugh, it’s been so long since we looked at it!” she pushes it towards you.
You shake as you take the book, “I’d rather not open this Leah,” you softly say,
“Oh please Y/N you had such cute ideas!” Leah says as she snatches the book, prying it open to the first page. Themes. Mini watches you carefully, mentally noting how your demeanor had changed since Leah had walked in. “Ah a forest theme! So cute!” she cries out, “We’re thinking of Jeju!”
“Jeju is nice,” Mini says,
“RIGHT!” Mini only hums, still watching as Leah flips through the pages carelessly. You stare down at your hands. Please stop. You begged internally. “Oh, so Y/N” you look back up at her, the scrapbook now closed.  “I booked my appointment to try on dresses!”
“Oh fantastic, show me what you looked at.” You force a smile, as she pulls her binder out. Opening it to the dresses tab. Your heart stops for a moment. The page you had created of dresses was cut up and plastered all over the place, and the gorgeous dress you had admired lay centered on the page. You remember the day you had first seen it, then and there you had decided that that was the dress for you. That was your dream dress. You studied it, praying to find some sort of difference, praying that it was some sort of similar dress, that it wasn’t the one you’d day dreamed of wearing for years.
“Hope you don’t mind, but I saw that and I fell in love,” Leah smirks,
“What are you doing?” your voice is flat, as you stare at her. Whatever game she was playing at, you were over.
“What do you mean?” she says with a pout,
“Listen, I'm not feeling well. Let's do this some other time.” you say as you stand from your spot on the floor. It wasn't a lie, seeing the dress you dreamed of lay in front of you, knowing she would be trying it on made you sick to your stomach. You thought you could do okay, you thought you’d be fine helping her, but clearly you were wrong. Nausea begins to overwhelm you, and you feel your heart race as your body threatens to puke up every negative thought, every memory, every single little detail that made your stomach churn.
“Common Y/N don’t be like that,” Leah sighs as she leans back on the couch, Mini still watching everything unfold. Her body tensing up as if she felt the earthquake before it hit, the tsunami of emotions that was bound to flood the room. “I know you loved it, but.” There’s always a butt before the bullshit. “It would be a waste not to see it. I know you wanted this to be your dress, but I can’t stop my heart from loving what I love, it would go to good use. It will finally be seen because at least one of us is getting married, also for the party. Can you invite those girls from Keeho’s company for me? He didn't answer so I assumed he’s just busy. Maybe Moni can invite people from her boy's company too!” Mini flinches at the last words, looking at Leah with a disgusted face, and you. You’re unsure if you want to cry or scream.
“About the dress Leah. Not today, I can’t do this.” you sigh, “And I can’t just invite random idols to a party for someone they don’t know. I'm sorry.”
“You have to.”
“Leah, we’re not doing this today please.” you were desperate for an out, you couldn’t stand sitting here planning your dream wedding for her, you couldn’t sit there watching her admire your dress. You couldn’t do it. Not today.
“You’re fucking pathetic.” Leah mutters, as she stares daggers into you. “I can’t believe you.”
“What.”
“Over a fucking dress.” you sighs,
“It’s not really about the dress, Le-”
“You said you were over it.” she snaps, her anger shining through. The entire time she’d been here she’d been nothing but rude, and now she has the audacity to be mad at you?
“Leah, we’re not doing this.”
“Fucking. Pathetic, like I said.” Leah scoffs, “No wonder Keeho sent you here, I’m sure he was hyped to get rid of you and your pessimistic ass!” she shouts. Causing enough of a commotion for the boys to come quietly down the stairs to figure out what the yelling was about. “This is why Jeonghan left you,” she mutters, “Because you can’t see any good in anything, I don’t fucking know how anyone does it. Dealing with you, you’ve been nothing but sour ever since you found out. Couldn’t even stay the whole time during the engagement party. How the fuck do you do it Monica? How do you deal with her fucking depressed ass?” Mini doesn’t know, Leah please stop. You cry out, but words don’t form. You look at your little sister, tears filling your eyes, anger boiling at a dangerous heat within you, threatening to overflow.
“Do not speak to me.” Mini says a little too calmly. “Do not speak to your sister like that, and certainly do not speak on behalf of Keeho. We all know why she’s here. It has nothing to do with you, or her. Apologize, please.”
“Why should I!” she screams,
“Because you are in my home, and I will not tolerate this shit.” Mini says,
“YOUR Home? This is Bang Chans home, Changbin’s home, Han’s home, Hyunjin’s home.” Leah laughs, “you’re just like her,” she says as she points to you, “Living off your idol boyfriend.” the venom in Leah’s words stung, and everyone in the room could tell. Hyunjin quickly making his way to Mini as she stands there trying to calm her breathing.
“Don’t fucking speak to her like that.” Hyunjin interjects,
“Get out.” you mutter,
“I’m not fucking wrong! You lived off Jeonghan for so long you fucking pa-”
“We’re done here.” Chan says, as he demands the rooms attention. “Listen, we invited you into our home to allow you to plan your wedding. Not fight with Monica, or insult your sister.”
“You don’t know me.” Leah laughs, “Who the fuck are you to-”
“Even more reason for you to leave.” Chan responds, not letting her finish her sentence. Jisung makes his way to the table, gathering Leah's things and quickly throwing them on the table closest to the door.
“This is a joke right?” Leah scoffs, your fists clench as you watch her continue her fit “You’re gonna defend her when she’s the one who came onto me first?”
“Refusing to invite random idols who have no idea who you are to a party that has nothing to do with them isn’t coming to you, and neither is being uncomfortable about the fact you’ve decided to just use the dress she had planned out.” Mini laughs, “Delusional much? Like why would you need idols at it anyways don’t you have your own friends?”
“I do but she has more connections, I want my day to be special as would anyone!” a gross excuse.
“You’re not entitled to Y/N’s friend circle.” Changbin says, his brows furrowed as he speaks. His chest, puffing up ready to defend you, even though he doesn’t even know you.
“Truth be told,” Jisung says, “The way you’re reacting right now is over the top. Did you really want Y/N’s help or were you hoping to use her for her connections?” Leah stands quickly from the couch, wide eyed as she stares of Jisung who’s now made his way in front of you, blocking her view of you as your tears begin to fall.
“You’re all pathetic.” Leah mutters, “All of you. A joke. What did I expect out a group no one even likes.” she laughs as she runs her hand through her hair. “And you Monica, enjoy him sticking up for you while it lasts, I mean learn by example; look at how Y/N ended up. He’ll find someone better than whatever the fuck you are.”
“Leah sto-” you begin standing up, tears falling leaving streaks of mascara down your face. How fucking embarrassing. For her to do this in front of them. In Front of people you're barely getting used to. You lightly push Jisung out of the way only to be cut off by Mini, her hand stretched out across you as she walks in front of you placing herself beside Jisung.
“Y/N.” She says lightly, “It’s fine. Go to our room and breathe,” she whispers. Mini turns, now completely facing off with Leah. Mini was the complete opposite of her nickname. She stood tall, her stance intimidated even you who she was defending.
You storm up the stairs into your shared room. Your heart pounding as she calmly told Leah to leave, letting her know if she refused that she would remove her, herself. Leah’s shouting only grew louder, until you heard Chan’s voice raise for the first time ever. The door slammed shut, and a few minutes of silence passed before Mini made her way into the room. Shutting the door behind her, she sat carefully on the bed as you tried your best to calm down.
“I want to go home,” you sob, “But Keeho and his stupid fucking company, and-”
“You know, Y/N I may be over stepping here but,” Mini says as she looks at you, her body language indicating she was about to say something that made her uncomfortable, “Before I met Hyunnie, I was in a similar situation. I mean he didn’t ask my sister to marry him but he did some really messed up things,” she pauses hoping you wouldn’t yell at her for crossing a boundary. “What I’m saying is, I know it hurts right now but don’t blame Keeho for sending you here. What she said wasn’t true. He wasn’t getting rid of you, he just wants to make sure you have some support while he’s gone. We may still be very new to you, but I consider you a friend already. We all do. Even Jeongin, and he only met you a few hours ago.”
You look at her teary eyed, as she speaks. You’re afraid she’ll tell you not to cry over it anymore, that she’d tell you that you were being dramatic about the situation. You wouldn’t be surprised if she did, because your entire family had said it. ‘You can’t control who people fall in love with, you’ll get over it, don't be dramatic Y/N’
“Cry it out.” Mini says, “Scream if you have to, none of them will mind. You've been so strong for so long, you’ve been keeping your actual thoughts in for so long Y/N. So scream, let it all out. Get. Angry.” you look at her shocked, you expected something else but here she was telling you to get angry, to get everything out of your system. All the pent up anger, the hurt, all of it. And you did, it all came out at full force, all at once as you screamed and cried loudly for the whole house to hear, and possibly the neighbors a few houses down. She simply hugged you, letting you bawl into her chest as she played with your hair. Ten minutes. Ten minutes of screaming, ten minutes of crying and cursing the world for the injustices you’ve faced. That’s all it took for you to feel just a little bit better.
A soft knock on the door made you straighten up and wiper your tears, Hyunjin walks in followed by Jeongin, Chan, Changbin and Jisung who held a cup of water, Jeongin carrying his bowl of snacks. Jisung handed you the water carefully, as you weakly smile up at him.
“Sorry,” you mumble as you take a sip of the cool water.
“It’s fine, we’re used to it. All of us do it, thanks to a certain someone” Jisung says as he motions with his head towards Mini,
“Sometimes, you just got to get all that energy out into the world. Why bury it within yourself? It only hurts more to bottle it up.” Mini sighs, “I used to do it a lot. Like I said, they’re used to it.” You look down at your hands while Jisung crouches in front of you.
“Feel better though?” He asks, you nod. The bed shifts as the other four boys sit on Mini’s bed. You watch Hyunjin cradle Mini who is now sitting in a ball up against him, Chan, Changbin and Jeongin sit silently.
“You guys are cute,” you whisper.
“Ew. now i want to die” Mini says as she quickly gets off Hyunjin, he gasps in offense.
“As if you didn’t want to already,” Jeongin jokes,
“First off, fuck you. Secondly go fuck yourself,” Mini hisses,
“Well, which is it Mini? Do you want to fuck or should I go jer-”
“You’re disgusting you fucking perv.” she snaps, “Your hand deserves so much better than you!”
“Could say the same about Hyu-”
“Finish that sentence and I’ll fucking bleach your brows in your sleep.”
“NO WAIT NOT AGAIN” He yells in panic as Chan and Changbin laugh so hard they throw themselves back, almost falling off the bed.
You had forgotten you were crying now, laughing as hard as you witnessed the people around you. Hyunjin and Mini, Chan and Changbin, Jeongin, and Jisung who had moved his hand to yours and was now rubbing circles on the top of your hand with his thumb. Six new people, who like Keeho, somehow managed to make you feel a bit better about everything.
“Thanks, all of you.” you whisper,
“For?” Changbin asks,
“Everything. Letting me stay here, and especially what happened just now. I means alot.”
“You’re a part of us now Y/N.” Chan says, “We wouldn’t let it slide for anyone, but especially not you.”
“We care about you,” Hyunjin smiles sweetly as he sits up, “Wasn’t the first time we had to do it either, I remember when we had to go off on Mini’s dad.”
“Yo fuck that guy.” Changbin huffs,
“Ay, don’t turn this around on me Hyunnie. Also true but still.” Mini sighs, “Like I said, we might still not really know each other but you’re our friend now Y/N, sorry but you’re stuck with us now!”
“Until the others come home, we’ll be your new body guards,” Jisung jokes, as he references how Taeyang, Intak, and Keeho gave themselves the title. “Specifically Mini tho, that bitch is like a rabid animal when she’s angry.”
“She gets angry?” You asked, from the looks of everything that happened she was the calmest one there.
“Unfortunately,” Hyunjin sighs, shuddering at whatever memory popped into his head. The others laugh as Hyunjin makes a worried face. Their laughs are contagious. Their energy. Is contagious. If the energy this group of people carried were a sickness, people would never want to find a cure. You laugh alongside them as Mini hits Hyunjin with a pillow, defending herself saying she only gets angry at games. They’re a family. I can trust them. You think to yourself as you watch Jeongin and Changbin try to protect Hyunjin from the assault. As Chan yelled out that he’d call for backup, pulling out his phone to call the other members, as you laughed loudly with the rest of them; as Jisung admired your smile.

It was finally the end of my first year in college. I truly could not be more over it then I was right now I mean you couldn't pay me to stay another day here. I had my car all packed up and ready to go. This long drive home would give me plenty of time to reminisce on my great freshman year.
My dorm was literally inhabitable, not to mention the devil of a roommate I had. I don't know of any other person whose head was so far up their ass for no reason. And I hope I never do again. Class wasn't too bad except for me being enrolled in multiple courses I didn't need but couldn't drop because it was too late.
I thank my advisor for that one.
Lastly, I'll admit I was looking for love in all the wrong places. Like that one Johnny Lee song. I didn't like to think about the way my life was going so I used people to try and distract myself. Clearly did not work out for me. I just really needed time to myself to be quiet and still. I knew where I could find that.
Home. I can say I was truly blessed to grow up where I did. Our ranch is on a couple acres of land with huge willow and oak trees covered in moss. On the other side of the property we had a cute little cottage built for when the family came to visit. Down behind the house is our garden with the old shed daddy built across from it. We had a big pond put in and that was probably my favorite thing about the place. It has a little dock and I used to sit there for hours watching the water.
This drive couldn't go any faster.
But before I knew it I was finally pulling up to that familiar driveway, a little dark as the sun was going down but I could honestly navigate it blind. I heard momma yelling for me as I pulled up to the house. Flying out of the car, I ran to her, pulling her into the tightest hug.
“I missed you so much momma” “Me too bun, me too” she said into my shoulder. We grabbed all my stuff and went inside the house. It was just as I remembered.
That evening we had dinner and watched a movie together like old times. I truly missed her. After all the fun I decided to go to bed after my long day on the road. Laying down I decided that this summer was gonna be nothing like the past year. The theme is ‘Me, Myself, and I’. It’s what I need to get back to who I really am. Studying in the city for college was such a culture shock for me, it was interesting but I missed my trees and big wide open sky. My solidarity. I needed this.
I woke up around 8am that next day unfortunately. After peeling myself out of bed I lazily pulled an outfit of shorts and a top together and decided to go look at the shed. I went to the garage half asleep still, grabbing a hammer to go ‘work’ on the shed. Not sure about the thought process there. Walking back through the kitchen I stopped to greet my mom and down a banana quickly.
“Oh I forgot to say I hired a ranch hand for some help around here” she tells me. Confused, I ask “Do we really need one momma? I mean I was kinda looking forward to the work..”. “Well I figured you just wanted to be able to relax but you're more than welcome to help him if you want to.” She said that oddly. “Mmmm, I don't think I want to hang out with some random old guy. Thanks though.” I say under my breath as I leave the room.
Finding my way outside I saw the beat down building for the first time in a while.
“Well… this looks like shit.” I muttered to myself. I mean, I knew it needed work but it was practically falling apart with pieces of the wood disentegrati-
“Sorry I-” A deep voice startled me out of my thoughts.
“JESUS” I flew around throwing the hammer. I had to croon my neck up to meet the gaze of the bluest eyes I've ever seen. Before me stood a tall, muscular, looker of a man. His blonde locks stuck in place but curled so beautifully upon his head. Trailing down his face my eyes latched on his lips, so plump and soft looking. It was as if time stopped.
Was I dreaming? The way my heart was pounding was telling me otherwise.
I was broken from my trance when the beautiful man spoke again in a certain country drawl.
“I- I’m sorry little girl I didn't mean to frighten ya.” Little girl? “I wasn't sure where I was going.” he chuckled. Words couldn't form from my brain to my mouth. I just stared at him.
Luckily at that point my mother came to my rescue as always. “Austin? Hey honey you are at the right place!” He whipped his head around at the sound of his name, going to greet my mother. I took this opportunity to bolt inside the house.
There's no way he's the ranch hand momma was talking about. He's too pretty.
After a bit she came back inside and explained to me that the beautiful man was in fact the ranch hand she hired.
“That boy is a sweetie! He's the one who rebuilt the fence around the garden last fall. I figured he would be handy to have around this summer!” she said. “Why did you say it like that?” “Say it like what?” she said with a giggle.
She's playing me.
“Okay momma but don't expect me to be his friend. He comes to work and goes home every day.”
Silence.
“Momma, he comes to work and goes home, right?” “Technically yes.” “You gave him the cottage didn't you?” “I did.” she sheepishly responded.
So, now I have an insanely attractive neighbor that I didn't ask for. Am I mad about it? Not at all. I'm just going to ignore him as best as I can. I cannot get caught up again. This summer is supposed to be about my self growth. Point blank period.
After giving myself a pep talk about the expectations I had for the summer I decided to do some work to take my mind off of it. Luckily mom gave me the sole task of tending the garden so I was going to put my heart and soul into it.
Going back outside later in the day I decided to start with the tomatoes, there were plenty to pick. Squatting down I started picking tomatoes and pulling the weeds from the ground. It was pretty quiet for a few minutes when all of a sudden I heard the sound of wood clacking on the ground. It made me snap my head up. Looking through the plants I saw movement by the shed. I moved some of the branches around to get a better view and boy did I.
Peering through the bushes I saw this so-called Austin ripping the old wooden boards from the shed, glistening with sweat, and his muscles tensing. Lord have mercy. Due to the heat at this point he was only wearing the jeans and work boots I met him in, no shirt. I've only heard of men looking like this, never seen one in the flesh.
He stopped pulling boards to take a swig of water from his reserve. He was drinking like he was in a drought. I watched it fall out of the sides of his mouth and dribble down his chest almost in slow motion. After quenching his thirst he poured some of the ice cold water on his forehead, leaning back and wiping his hair with it. Almost as if he knew I was watching, putting on a show for me.
My breath caught in my throat at the thought.
He pulled a rag out of his back pocket and dabbed the wetness from his face. There was a feeling growing in the pit of my stomach, it was a feeling I was missing, craving, but I knew I couldn't allow myself a taste of this forbidden fruit. Even just watching him was so intense I couldn't imagine touchi-... I had to stop myself. He went back to work and the loud noise pulled me out of my thoughts. Slowly looking down I've completely demolished the tomato sitting in my hand. Whoa. I ran inside to wash the juice from my hands and the sins from my mind.
The rest of the day I spent locked in my room hoping for the thoughts to go away but the more I tried the more they stayed. His washboard abs etched in my mind. That evening after dinner I decided to go sit at my favorite spot on the dock by the pond. Watching the water move from the wind would maybe calm me. It was always peaceful and made me feel at home. Maybe I can find some solace here.
Hopefully.
Sitting outside I heard a door close behind me expecting momma to be coming over. But once again that deep southern voice startled me.
“Sorry, I didn't get to properly introduce myself, I’m Austin,” he says reaching out his hand. I looked at them, big and calloused. I wonder what they feel like. I grabbed it expecting a shake when he easily pulled me to my feet. Not expecting that, I unintentionally fell into him with my hand landing on his chest.
“I- uh..I- my name is y/n.” I said breathlessly. He smiled down at me.
“Y/n, a beautiful name for a beautiful girl, it's a pleasure to meet ya.” I could just about melt in his arms. He was freshly showered in a half opened button up with his chest peeking out and a new pair of jeans. My hand slightly felt over his open shirt.
I need to stop.
The smell of his musk was almost over bearing being this close to him. It was heavenly.
“Y/n?”
I didn't even realize he was talking to me, I was too busy trying to look deeper into his shirt.
”Huh?”
“I said it was nice to meet you, but I've got to go.”
“Oh, sorry,” I muttered, pulling away. “It was nice to meet you too.”
He bit his lip at me and looked me up and down for a split second before turning around and walking off. Boy did that ass look great in those jeans. He hopped into an old yellow ford and started off down the driveway.
Once again I was left breathless by the ranch hand.
Please let me know what you think about it!! i already have part two in the works lmk if u wanna see more :)) also thank u to @wtfsteveharrington and @sassy-ahsoka-tano for beta reading and helping me edit !!!

Looking Forward
Part 38 of On The Inside With Elizabeth Olsen
Word Count: 11.2K
masterlist
TW: Walmart Jesus talk
A/N: This is officially the longest chapter I've made. It's got pictures, drama, and turns that I don't think you're ready for. So go to the bathroom, grab a snack and stay hydrated. Happy reading 🩵!
"Mom, you're favorite daughter is here!!" Liz takes my hand and begins dragging me through the house with a child-like smile full of glee.
Y/N POV
Oh, this is going to be a gas, I think to myself as my eyes look back from the twins to Liz to the beautiful house around me. Pictures of childhood memories line the walls of a home I can't wait to see later.
"And who might that be?" We hear an older voice call out as Liz drags me closer and closer to what I can only assume is the kitchen based on the wonderful smell radiating in the air. "Me!!" Liz yells back to her mom Jarnie as we round a corner and spot a busy kitchen with some people I've never met.
Liz drops my hand and runs past two familiar-looking men. One of them is Ash's husband, Louis, who gives me a courtesy wave, and the other is who I can only assume is her biological brother. The man looks up and shoots me a smile before leaning over to say something to the other woman in the kitchen. She quickly turns to me and wipes her hands on her blue apron as Liz finishes up her hug with her mom.
"Hi. I'm Alexis." The woman with the apron moves before me with a warm smile. "Oh, hi, I'm Y/N!" I reach my hand out and let my nerves do the shaking as the man next to her reaches his hand out. "Hi. I'm this one's boyfriend, and those two older brother. I'm Trent." I look behind me to see the twins roll their eyes at their brother. "Nice to meet you!" I say with a smile before holding back some laughter due to Mary-Kate's words, "Oh please, the only thing nice about him is his hot girlfriend." Trent scoffs at this and directs his attention to the duo behind me. "MK, you wouldn't know shit if it hit you in the face."
Without warning, Mary-Kate and Trent begin bickering. Playfully, of course.
Well, I hope it is.
"This happens every year." I turn to my right as Alexis starts leading me away from the bickering siblings, just as Ash joins in. "They love each other dearly. I'm sure you know." I nod my head along and smile as Jarnie yells at the trio to knock it off. When my eyes met Liz's, I couldn't help but laugh as Jarnie covered Liz's ears before yelling at her siblings. She looks like a little kid.
"You guys are cute together." I move my eyes back to Alexis with a raised eyebrow. "Sorry. I- It's just true. Plus, she seems happier than she did last year." Oh? "Last year?" I ask Alexis. "Oh, uh, I shouldn't have said-"
"Babe!" My attention shifts as my smiling girlfriend comes crashing into me, lacing her arm around my body and pulling me closer. "Hi, Alexis! Nice to see you!"
"You as well!" Alexis smiles back. "Is it okay if I steal Y/N? Just real quick?" Liz asks with a smile and squint of the eyes, making me internally laugh. Alexis puts her hands up, mocking defeat. "She's all yours." Oh yes, I am.
"Yes, she is."
Liz utters those three words making my jaw drop, and Alexis' face blush. Neither one of us expected to hear that. But my girlfriend just smiles and starts leading me no less than ten steps to Jarnie, who looks at me with nothing but care in her eyes. "My goodness, Lizard, look at her!"
"Mom-"
"Oh, honey!" Jarnie moves her attention from Liz back to me. "You're beautiful!" Without another moment between us, Jarnie pulls me into a hug before relenting. "Thank you for joining us this year." A smile sneaks onto my face at the sincere words and feeling of love surrounding me. "I was more than happy to come. Honestly." I say truthfully. "I was also going to bring a gift, but Liz fought me on it." I send a confident smile.
Don't get me wrong. I'm terrified to be here. Afraid that something will go wrong. Or I'll open my mouth and insert my foot. But at the same time. Liz was missing home. She tried to hide it the best she could, but I could see it. Between the uptick in calls to her mother and the amount of singing Lizzie would do about songs from her childhood
I would do anything to be here with her now.
Plus, I needed to meet more of her family at some point!
"Oh, nonsense." Jarnie waves her hand. "According to the internet and our Lizard, it appears you're quite busy." I look to Liz, who makes a locking gesture to her lips and shrugs. "Is that what our Lizard is saying?" I peel my eyes back to Liz's mom, who picks up on the looks between her daughter and I. "Yes, contracts for record companies being signed and all that! But frankly, anything to get her to stop talking about her garden all the time" Jarnie then makes a don't tell her look even though Liz very clearly heard her mom. "Mom!"
"Oh, I'm teasing, honey." Jarnie waves her hands at her youngest before grabbing me and positioning me next to her. "Yeah, we're just teasing Lizzie!" A very smug-looking Mary-Kate says as she walks past her sister to the fridge, clearly not knowing what's going on. "Oh, is it teasing Lizzie time?!" Ash chirps, much to Trent's delight and Liz's dismay.
"I say so!" Trent speaks up.
"Baby photos or high school first?!" Mary-Kate excitedly jumps and down, begging me to answer from across the kitchen, while a wide-eyed Liz runs to me and quickly places her hands on my mouth. "Do not answer them. You love me, and it will stay that way!" I can't do anything but laugh through Liz's hands. "Don't do it."
"Lizard, let her speak."
"Mom, she'll betray me! I know that look!" I glance at Jarnie, who shakes her head. "You're right." She says to me. "High school photos first!!" Jarnie says, causing the twins to shriek and run out of the kitchen, spilling water from a freshly made cup. "Mom!!" Liz turns to her mother with a betrayed tone—faking sadness and offense.
"What? Y/N's the one who said it!" I look to Jarnie with Liz's hands still on my mouth. She does nothing but smile and wink. "You'll love them, dear." Without thinking, I try speaking, but nothing but a muffled noise is heard, causing Liz to laugh in defeat before removing her hands. "Thank you, Jarnie," I say with a smile that gets returned. "I bet you look cute!" Liz rolls her eyes and hangs her head as the twins' yells are heard through the house. "Well, thanks, Mom. Let's get this over with.."
"Wait, shouldn't we help?" I look to the remaining food that still needs to be prepped. "Nonsense," Jarnie speaks up. "Alexis and I got it. You're our guest this year. But next year you'll be here next to me. Okay?"
"Yes, ma'am." I nod to Liz's mom, who gives a wink. "Now go see pictures of our Lizard."
I turn back to Liz, who happily grabs my hand and leads me past Trent and Alexis trying to hide their smiles before she turns back to her mother. "I'm still your favorite, though... right?"
This causes me to laugh and wrap my arms around my girlfriend. "Oh, come on. Yes, everyone loves you, Lizzie Olsen! Let's go." I say with a smile as I push through the entryway of the kitchen.
Liz laughs with me as we walk through the house towards the loud twins. "She loves you." I bring my attention from the house's high ceilings back to Liz. "My mom. She already loves you. Plus Trent. I'm surprised he didn't give his big brother/if you hurt her speech." Liz pauses for a moment. "Maybe that's because of what happened at the show." I'm momentarily confused but then remember what happened after my All Eyes On Me performance. "So I guess he already knows you'll do what you can to love and protect his little sister." I smile and wrap my arm around Liz. "I do love her." We slow our walk, and I let Liz's lips plant themselves on me.
"Are you doing okay?" I tilt my head at her question. "I mean, I'm the more outgoing one most of the time in this relationship, but you really turned on the charm in the kitchen. You okay?" Liz smirks while she laces her hands in my own, and I squeeze them, thanking her for her concerns. "Uh.. Don't get me wrong. I'm scared shitless right now." I chuckle. "But it's Thanksgiving. With your family! Today isn't about me. It's about us. And them." I gesture with both our hands together. "The people you love. I'd rather be scared and nervous today than to never do this at all." Liz beams at me and kisses me once again. "I love you."
"I love you too."
"And thank you." "For?" "Being you."
Liz POV
I've been embarrassed and teased, and tricked before.
Yes. Mainly by my sisters. We all know the gum in the hair story.
And I'm not saying everyone hasn't been teased, tricked, and embarrassed because everyone has. Growing up with sisters or not. It's a part of life. It happens whether we want it to or not.
But boy, oh boy, do I want it to stop now.
Because against my wishes, the photo albums and years books were pulled out. The twins started with the college photos. Most of which I'm not proud of, but my sweet Y/N loved them and secretly counted every time I had a joint or cigarette in my hand.
That was thirty minutes ago, and now we've moved on to high school photos.
"Oh, my God!" Y/N yells, snatching another photo Ashley held up to her. "Look at the smile!"
Tumblr media
"Look at you!" I smile as Y/N flashes the picture to me before dropping it into my hands as Mary-Kate holds up another one like it's a treat. "Oh my God, You're so cute here, Lizzie!" Ash squeals before flipping the photo over.
Tumblr media
Instantly I'm trying to cover it, but Y/N fights me off. "Oh, babe." She says with a laugh. "I can't tell if it's laundry day or you're going through a phase." The twins just about collapse with laughter, practically dying at Y/N's words, clearly hitting it on the head.
Y/N herself bites back her lip before scooting closer to me. "I can tell what phase this is." She whispers, forcing me to snatch the photo from her hands. "It's called being a teenager." Y/N just nods to me and mouths the word sure.
"Oh, look at this one!" My brother shouts from his hovering stance behind the twins. In his hand, I see my high school yearbook. "Trent." I quietly plead, but it's no use because instantly, everyone is gathered around Y/N as Trent shoves the book into her hands.
Tumblr media
"Babe." Y/N starts as her finger brushes over the picture. "You're so fucking cute! Your hair is a little frizzy, but Jesus Christ, have you ever had a like bad one? I'm talking awful to look at bad picture taken? Has she?" Y/N looks to the twins and then to me, almost as if she's offended. I don't even get to answer before her ramblings start. "God, it's gonna be so mortifying when I take you to my mom's, and in every picture, I look like I just woke, but I'm also somehow a walking corpse." She sighs. "Meanwhile, you've looked like this for years and years?!"
The rest of her words hit me, and I laughed and smiled along like everyone else, but I focused on what she said. "when I take you to my mom's."
My heart warms up at that.
It's evident to Y/N and myself that we're in this relationship for the long haul, but explicit and fine details have never been discussed. Family visits and trips for the next year or two had never been discussed until very recently. So the fact that Y/N is already thinking and joking about the future in which I see her baby and high school photos makes me melt.
That might not seem like a big deal from the outside looking in, but to the two of us, bringing someone home means a lot, especially after what we've been through.
You all know.
"I'm sure you'll look cute," I say as I pull myself back from getting lost in her eyes. But Y/N rolls them to me. "Notice how you said cute and not gorgeous."
"Babe, stop!"
"Oooh, fight. Fight. Fight!" I look to the twins, who are eagerly looking back at Y/N and me, waiting for this to turn into something bigger. Y/N just laughs and shakes her head. "No fighting here, blondes." "Boo!" Mary-Kate speaks up before her eyes focus back on the stack of pictures while Y/N closes the yearbook. "Hey." I quickly grab her hand. "You're beautiful." And thankfully, Y/N blushes and kisses my hand.
"So are you. I have pictures to prove it." She holds up another and smiles. I gently take it from her. "You and every sapphic lover out there."
Y/N's mouth drops. "What- how- yo-" She stumbles over her words, making Trent laugh as he's quietly watched before returning to his phone. "You know. I think I have to put parental controls on your phone." Y/N squints, but I shrug and look over to Ash, who has heart eyes at what she just witnessed. I also see Ash look at Y/N, who is now helping MK try and find even younger pictures of me, before her eyes focus back to me.
"She's perfect for you." She mouths.
"I know." I mouth back.
"Oh hey guys, we should clean up. Dads is almost here." Trent bursts the bubble of memories we're locked in as he locks his phone and puts it into his pocket. I move my head to Y/N, who moves hers from Trent to me. Everyone else in the room wouldn't notice it, but I do. The strong confidence she's been exuding falters slightly.
I go to speak, but before I can even scoot myself closer to Y/N, the twins begin piling up every photo and yearbook to make it appear as if they were never here. "We can look later!" Mary-Kate tells us as she runs to put them away. Ash running behind her to head to the nearest bathroom. When I turn around to Trent, he's already gone back to the kitchen. Leaving Y/N and I.
"They wasted no time.." Y/N nervously laughs. "They.." I lean closer to my girlfriend. "Trent and the twins grew up.. a little more.. differently than I did." I watch as a quizzical look morphs onto Y/N's face. "Differently?" I nod. "More prim and proper." I husk out, which causes a smile to form on Y/N's face. "What?" I ask as the smile turns to laughter. "Well, babe. I've gathered that. But from what I just witnessed." She gestures with her hands. "You would think it was more.. militant."
I make ah sound, but don't argue with Y/N's word choice. "He's a man of respect. Give it, earn it, or don't bother." I pause and see Y/N slowly nod. "But trust me. He loves us and wants what's best for us. It just.. can take a while. Okay?" Without saying it, I'm confirming and trying to keep calm with what we both fear—the possibility of my Dad, David Olsen.. disliking.. my girlfriend Y/N Y/L/N.
"Okay." Y/N takes her hand in mine. "I remember the first day you met my mom, so if I go through the day without crying over tea. We can count it as a win." Y/N squeezes my hand as I remember that day and fall into the crook of her neck. "Oh, God."
Y/N POV
"Alright, they're pulling up!" Mary-Kate yells from the front door and acts like she isn't just peeking out the window. Ash standing right behind her, making the same look. "Girls, get over here and quit freaking Y/N out!" Jarnie yells as she exits the kitchen for the first time today. Well, she went to the dining room to drop some food off earlier, but those places are one in the same. "You two do this every year. It's just your father and siblings. No need to get so crazy about it."
"But-" MK starts but quickly stops as she and Ash step away from the door. "Come on, guys," Liz speaks up and wraps her arm around each sister. It makes me laugh because of the height difference between the three of them. "Don't." MK glares at me before Liz covers her eyes, laughing.
"Knock knock!" The front door slowly opens as a younger male opens the door. Clearly not David, so this must be... Jake! That's his name! "Come on in, hun!" Jarnie makes her way past us to greet the remaining Olsens. "Jarnie, good to see you as always!" Jarnie makes a comment back to Jake as he smiles and makes his way down the line that all of us happen to be standing in. The twins, Liz and I being last.
"Jake, I'd like you to meet Y/N. My girlfriend!" Jake extends his hand with a smile. "Nice to meet you! Court has mentioned you before and sent me your TikTok's. Very talented."
Oh? I didn't realize Courtney had seen them, much less shared them.
Jake keeps shaking my hand as he continues talking about music and how TikTok has been helping all kinds of artists find their base. So he's excited to see what I got coming up. I agree with him, but I would like my hand back at some point. It appears Liz finally catches on and speaks up. "Jake. Her hand." She says with a friendly smile causing him to look down, embarrassed. "Sorry. I was shaking your hand too long." I nod with a laugh. "That's okay. And thank you. It's nice to meet you! We can chat later."
As Jake scurries to put away the bottle of wine he brought, I glance towards the front door, and I see a tall, grey-haired man finishing up a conversation with Jarnie. Both leaving it with smiles. "Chat later?" Liz asks with a smirk. "Shh." I roll my eyes.
"Hi, Dad!" Trent greets his father with a bear hug before David moves on to the twins, who quickly chat up their dad as Liz laces her fingers in mine. "Where's Courtney?" Ash asks, catching Liz and mines attention. "Oh, she's outside talking with her.. friend," David answers with a sheepish look that I catch. "Well, we're happy everyone could make it!" MK speaks up, obviously catching the vibe. "Yes. Yes, of course." David speaks as he moves to Liz and I. "Speaking of hiya Lizard!" David goes for a bear hug like he did with Trent but only gets a half hug in return since Liz refuses to let go of my hand. This earning a look at our intertwined hands. "Dad." Liz starts. "This is Y/N. My lovely girlfriend."
For the first time since entering the house, David's eyes meet my own. He nods his head and simply speaks as if I were a business deal.
"David Olsen. Elizabeth's Father." He extends his hand directly to the one holding Liz's. I feel as if everyone's eyes are on us. Without a shared word between us, Liz loosens her hand so I can let her go too firmly. And I mean firmly shake David's hand. "Y/N Y/L/N. Lizard's girlfriend."
From the corner of my eye, I can see Jarnie, Mary-Kate, and Ashley's smiles spread.
"So I've heard." David drops my hand and adverts his attention as Jake comes back into the room with a scotch in hand. "Ah, thank you, Jake." He grasps the glass from his son's hand and steps aside. "Much needed." He says after taking a long sip. "Jarnie, could you go get Court, please," David speaks to his ex-wife, who is already waving her hands at him as she made that decision first. "Nurse, your scotch." She says, earning a laugh from the twins as they separate to freshen up. Liz is momentarily ushered away by Trent. "Okay, bye." Those two words drop with sarcasm while I wave while avoiding the burning holes in my head.
"Here." I turn to my right to see Alexis with a glass of white wine. "For the... nerves." She so kindly says. "Thank you," I reply with my own long and strong sip. "Everyone goes through it," Alexis whispers to me when she raises her glass. I give her a look to make sure we're talking about the same thing.
We are.
"Wine?" Alexis rapidly changes the subject as someone appears behind me. "Please." My Liz begs. "One minute." Alexis departs with a strong sip of her own.
"I can't believe him."
I turn to my left to see Liz with a tight jaw boring holes into the her father's head. If looks could kill. I sigh and open my mouth."Liz-" "Trent had the audacity to give me the give it time talk." Hmm. "Fuck that." Liz practically snarls. "Give me your hand." I don't even get a second before our hands are tied together once again. "These." She squeezes our hands. "Don't get separated for the rest of the day." "Liz-" I start again but get interrupted by Jarnie opening the door with a very wide smile. Courtney and her friend, as David put it.
"Hey, everyone!!" Courtney beams to all of us. "This is Ness!" She kisses her cheek and wraps an arm around a shorter dyed black-haired cardigan-wearing woman. "Not only a friend." She emphasizes. "But my girlfriend!" Ness shyly waves, clearly not expecting all of us to be gathered in one of the living rooms. "Hi." Everyone, including myself, send warm smiles as Courtney pulls Ness further into the house. Jarnie watching Ness with care, just as she did with me.
At least I'm not the only new person this holiday.
"Oh my God, Lizzie, you brought her!!" Courtney screams as she hugs her older sister. "So nice to see you again, Y/N! Ness, this is Y/N!" Ness looks me up and down, confused, before a light bulb goes off. "Oh?! The one from the show you went to?!" Courtney nods. "Wow. Courtney and I love your music so far!"
"So far?" I tease, earning a laugh from Court and Ness. "It's nice to meet you."
"You as well."
"So Ness, how long have you and Court been together?" Liz asks as everyone begins to shuffle around the house. "Couple of months. Although we can't agree on when we started dating exactly." Courtney laughs while nudging Ness. "Only because this one thinks our first night in Mexico was our first date, but it was obviously the Tuesday at Al's before we even left," Ness speaks before Court pecks her lips to get her to stop. "Mexico or some restaurant called Al's. Tell me, which one sounds more romantic?" Court asks Liz and me as we find ourselves in the kitchen. Again.
"Mexico." Liz and I say at the same time. "Unbelievable." Ness' head and shoulders drop. "Anyways." Court wraps her arms around Ness as Alexis drops off more glasses of wine. "What's new between you two."
Where do we start?
"Oh, girls, save that talk for the table. It'll only be a couple more minutes."
"Of course, Mama J," Courtney speaks for the group. "Shall we?" Liz takes my hand and leads me to the elegant dining room. Clearly, a lived in space, but no one eats here regularly. "Mom, what's up with the name plates?"
"I thought it might be fun this year. What with our new guest and all." Jarnie nods towards Ness and me, whose nameplates happen to be right next to each other. On the other side of me is Liz. Of course. "Ah, no fair!" Mary-Kate whines, finding her spot. "I always sit next to Ashley. I sit next to her every day. Can I switch? Who wants to switch?"
"No switching. Now stop it." Jarnie lightly smacks Mary-Kate's head, earning a quiet "ow" from the blonde as the rest of us begin to sit down.
Jarnie and David are at each end of the table. On either side of David is Trent and Alexis.
Next to Trent is Louis, Ashley, Mary-Kate, and Jake
Next to Alexis is Courtney, Ness, myself, and Liz.
"Alright, Y/N, would you like to say, Grace?" Mary-Kate calmly asks me. Grace? Do they do that? "Mary-Kate." Liz sighs as Ash slaps her twin. "Wow, real violence going on today!" MK rubs where she got hit.
"Serves you right." Jarnie scolds her daughter as she turns to me. "We don't do that. Feel free to do it if you want, or start piling up your plate."
"Piling up my plate sounds good." Jarnie nods back and turns to Liz and not so quietly says. "Have I mentioned that I like her?"
Liz POV
I'm glad to be back home.
I love working, and Texas has been fun, but Y/N was right. I was missing my family and home a lot more than I realized. Because of this: Mary-Kate making a mashed potato mountain while Courtney scolds her for not doing it right. Alexis sharing embarrassing stories of Trent we haven't heard before. Or Ness leaning over to Y/N and I to joke about the twins. This. This is what I love. The fun of it all. The care and joy. Family.
A real Vin Diesel moment.
Don't tell Y/N I watched Fast and Furious without her, by the way.
Anyways I wasn't kidding when I said Y/N's and mines hand were going to be tied together all day. However, if it were up to me, we'd still be doing it, but it was making grabbing the bowls of food passed around very difficult. And eating, for that matter.
"Till after we eat." Y/N convinced me.
Trust me. I know it's a little ridiculous to practically hold someone's hand hostage all day, all because of things my Dad technically hasn't even voiced yet. But I wasn't going to let my father be immediately defensive to Y/N, myself, or Court and Ness, for that matter.
"Wait, what?" Y/N's shocked and open jaw makes me hide my laugh.
"Did you not know?" Ash looks puzzled before her, and my girlfriend's eyes are looking at me. I playfully smile and shrug. "Babe... is there something you'd like to say?"
"Alright, I know Spanish, so what."
"You didn't think to bring that up to your girlfriend?"
"Yeah! You didn't think to bring that up to me?! Like ever!" I shrug again. Enjoying the amused and flabbergasted looks. "I don't believe you," Y/N states as she returns to shoving turkey in her mouth. "There's no way this hasn't come up!" Mary-Kate tries to reason but to no avail.
"So you've been watching me do Duolingo for months and have said nothing?" Y/N breaks after a brief moment of silence. "Nothing?!"
"You never asked for help." I tease, earning a groan. "Also, I thought you've been doing very well, mi amor."
"Gracias." Y/N tries her best to look at me upset but fails as soon as I lean into her and leave a peck.
"Mi corazón."
"Huh?"
"Oh, haven't gotten there yet, huh?" Y/N shakes her head. "Tell me." I keep my face from breaking into a wide grin at the new game I'm going to play. "No."
"Oh, come on." I shake my head. "And no one better help or tell her what it means." I direct to the table and see phones quickly being out away. "That means you, MK."
"Oh, come on." She whines exactly like Y/N. Earning a chorus of laughs around the table.
"So Y/N." My father speaks to Y/N for the first time all meal. Mind you. Enough time has elapsed that some of us are on our second plates myself, Court, Mom, and Alexis. While some are on their third. Trent and Jake. "From what some of the group here and what Courtney have told me. You're quite popular. Talented even." All conversations quiet down, and eyes divert between my father and my girlfriend.
"Oh well." I lay my left hand on Y/N's knee to let her know I'm here no matter how much charisma and confidence she's had it in herself today. "I wouldn't say popular-"
"You held a show right here in LA not too long ago, no?"
"Well, yes, but-" "That certainly sounds like someone who's popular. Talented. Not some nobody. Are you a nobody?" I squeeze Y/N's knees as the clanging of my father's silver wear hits his dish.
"No, but-"
"Do you see yourself having a future? Being somebody?" "Sir, with all due respect-" In an instant, I watch my father move on.
"How about you, Ness?" Y/N looks back at me, mouth agape. "David!" My mom speaks out while throwing her serviette to the ground. "Stop this."
"Jarnie, please."
"Dad!" The twins speak up as I squeeze Y/N's knee again. "Stop this game your playing, or listen to what these young ladies have to say."
"J, what's there to say?" A beat. Confused looks all around. "You know, Lizard." My father draws his eyes back to me. Without removing her eyes from him, Y/N lays her hand on my knee. "What happened with Robbie? I know that Robbie upset you last year-"
"Stop." I close my eyes, hoping he'll listen. "But he knew-"
"Dad, please stop." I can feel Y/N tense as she squeezes my knee again.
"Dad, stop!" Ash speaks as I begin to block out what our father is saying.
Y/N POV
I visibly watch Liz tune out what's happening around here. She's an actress, so it appears she's listening, but I see her. I know her. She's hurting, and the mood for today is ruined.
I lean into her hold and grab her chin gently in my hand, turning her to see me ignoring her father's look. "Hey. It'll be okay." Liz smiles at me and holds back the tears in her eyes. Jarnie watches this interact with a clenched jaw, not at us but at her ex-husband.
"Enough!!" Jarnie shouts out over everyone as she pulls her youngest close. Liz wrapping our hands together. "David Olsen, you've upset everyone with your yammering and condescending questions and statements. Kindly stop it and apologize or leave."
"Jarnie-" David scoffs at this, and I feel Liz tense under my hand again. "David!" Liz sighs- "Dad, stop!" She stands up and yells at her father, surprising everyone.
"What are you doing? Why are you doing this? Just stop it. Stop thinking you know everything or that you have a clue about our relationships or lives! You only know about shit that's going on if Mom tells you or Court and Jake decide to fill you in!" Jarnie places her hand on Liz's arm as Liz stops to catch her breath and wipes some tears that have begun trailing her cheeks. "For the love of God, stop saying the name Robbie. He doesn't exist to us. I don't care what you think, you know, because whatever it is. It's wrong. He and I broke up. He fucked up again and again. And before you start bringing up last year this and last year that. Just stop." Liz sways a bit as she stamps her foot. "God, Dad, do you even know why I was so upset last year?" She sniffles. "Do you even care?"
"Honey-"
Liz places her hand up. "I was upset because that morning, I had gotten my period. After days of bated breath, this was the sign that I wasn't pregnant."
W-What?
I didn't know that.
I feel time halting as my breathing slows as I look around the room. It's clear that no one knew of this except the twins. Their eyes scurrying away from my own.
"But fuck- I- I wasn't upset because I wasn't pregnant. In fact, I was happy. Ecstatic even." My girlfriend chuckles through her sore, sobbed throat. "I was happy. And it felt so wrong to be so happy th-that I twisted myself up into this knot, and I just let myself... go." Liz's lips tremble as she fights for control. "All morning, I just let my body feel. All the emotions. The anger and sadness and the-that fucking happiness that I was putting on myself!" Liz takes a deep breath and lets go of my hand to push her hair out of her face. And I don't know if it was the anger of the weight of it all, but that's when I saw how horrible her hands were shaking and shaking more than the last leaf on a snow-covered tree. I reach up and grab her hand once more. Kissing it. Letting her know I'm here.
The only indication I know that Liz is aware of everyone else in the room is the light squeeze I feel on my fingers.
"But the guilt I felt for feeling how I goddamn felt. Me. The person that would've had to carry it. The person whose body would've been forever changed. My feelings were amped up by the person everyone should live up to, apparently. Robbie Arnett." I turn my head to David for the first time since Liz stood up. Guilt and regret are apparent on his face, but his eyebrows are furrowed, and his eyes remain stoic.
"He wanted kids and that future right then and there. So imagine the hurt I felt. Imagine the look on his face when I laid out everything for him. Okay?" She sniffles again, pushing her pink nose up. "Now imagine when he says nothing. Okay? Now imagine when he starts talking, but those words turn spiteful. Okay? Can you do that? Can you fucking do that, Dad?" Liz picks up her wine glass and rapidly downs it before throwing it into the middle of the table. "I knew that something was happening to our relationship even before that moment. But last year. The same day you want to bring up Dad. That was when I stopped loving Robbie Arnett."
Liz blinks some more tears away before looking around the room. "It was going to happen. And I'm glad it did." The soft tone in which Liz speaks makes me think that it she is talking about isn't her relationship with Robbie. "Excuse me." Liz covers her mouth and bolts from my grip. Running out of the dining room before I can even grasp what transpired in the last couple of minutes. But her footsteps are upstairs and long gone.
The twins hot on her trail, leaving a coat of silence in the large dining room—the quiet air being broken up by my own movement. My body and mind racing and going into autopilot.
Find your Liz.
"Honey.." Jarnie whispers while reaching her hand out to me, forcing me to look at her. Tears fill her eyes.
Mine too.
"Why don't you go check on her. Okay?" I nod, and I don't want to, but I do it anyways. I look into the direction of what caused this eventful meal.
The heads of the side of the table follow my look.
David is leaning back into his chair at the head of the table, looking out the window into the green backyard. I force myself to hold in the scoff.
"Go, Y/N," Court says, sending me a flat-line white people smile. With that, I force my legs to walk away from this. From everything that just happened. "Check upstairs," Jarnie informs me as I walk by her. "Thank you," I reply, only earning a wave of the hand.
"Just hug my Lizard. Please."
"Of course," I answer truthfully, and just as my body leaves the room, I begin to hear the shouting of multiple people.
_
"She locked herself in there," Ash says to me with trembling lips. "We're pretty sure we heard her throw up, but she won't answer us," Mary-Kate adds while she comforts her sister. "She just got her so fast."
Here. A hallway with a bonus room and a bedroom are at the end of it. One-half bath in between. Where Liz is now. "Okay." I squeak out. Still reeling from EVERYTHING I just learned. "We're sorry," Mary-Kate says as she looks down ashamed. Ash nodding in agreement. "Sorry? What are you sorry for?" I shake my head, trying to focus myself. "For what Dad- David said." Ash corrects. "I swear I've never seen him act like that. Well, to that extent." Mary-Kate says and groans before trying the bathroom handle again. "Lizzie, come on. Unlock the door. Y/N's here." She rushes through her words as the guilt eats her up.
But it's not her fault. Or Ashley's. Or anyone at that table's fault whose name doesn't start with a D.
"Babe. I'm here." I clear my throat and stand next to MK. "Open up. We don't have to talk about anything. I need to know you're alright." Nothing. Followed by nothing. I press my ear against the door, and aside from the hum of the house, I can hear what sounds like whispers. Repeating whispers. I pull my head back from the door and gently try the handle again, but it's still locked. The twins look at me curiously as I examine the door.
"Babe, like I said, we don't have to talk, okay? But I'd like to say some things. It's just you and me. Okay?" I raise my arm and shoo the twins away. Obviously, earning a shaking of the head, but I persist. "It'll be okay." I mouth to the duo, who eventually agree with their heads and make themselves home at the end of the hallway. "Okay, now it's just us." I start with a slight chuckle while feeling lost, nervous, and confused about today means for the greater scheme of things.
"I love you. I love you so much, Liz... and I'm- I.." I lean my head against the door while my hands grip the frame. "I'm sorry dinner took a turn, to say the least. But it wasn't your fault." I swallow. "Nothing that happened today or yesterday, or last year was your fault. Because you're perfect, I'm not just saying that to make you feel better or to open this door." I add a small laugh. "I'm saying it because I believe it. I believe in you. I believe you all the time. I believe you when you tell me I look pretty, even when I just woke up. I believe you when you say you like my smile, even though I've always hated it. I believe you when you tell me about your nightmares, no matter how silly and plant-based they are." I press my ear against the door again, hearing a hushed giggle. "I- I also believe you when.." I sigh, still wrapping my head around this.
"I also believe you'd make a great mom someday." A smile creeps onto my face, just imagining it. "And I believe you when you say you were happy about the outcome last year because there's nothing wrong with that. Nothing. You're allowed to feel however you want to feel. No one should tell you differently. You can always choose what you want. You want to cry. You want to laugh. Say Yes. Say No. You name it. Because no matter what, Liz, at the end of the day, it's your life... your choice. I'm just so happy, and I feel so lucky to get to be a part of it. I'm sorry I wasn't sooner.. and Liz, I believe you deserve nothing but support and love all the time. So.." I lean away from the door. "So, Liz, please open the door so I can take care of you right now."
Silence.
And then click.
I'm a little stunned to hear the door being unlocked, that it takes me a second to turn the handle. But the door slowly opens to reveal my shaking girlfriend sitting atop the toilet. Makeup ruined. Her eyes void of the striking green. They've turned red from her hot tears. However, she's still beautiful. She always will be.
"Hey.." I slowly walk in and close the door behind me. Locking it so the twins don't barge in. Liz lifts her face up to me; she goes to smile, but it falters as more tears slip out. "Oh, Liz." I quickly grab the towel off the rack and wet it to wipe her face and chin. Once that's done, I kneel before her and wrap my arms around her. Muffling her cries as her head buries into the crook of my neck. "I'm here," I whisper into her head, earning a nod as she quiets down.
"Come here." I pull her into me as I maneuver my legs under me. I fall back onto my butt while Liz places her weight on top of me. So now we're both just lying on the floor up against the wall. Well, I am, and Liz has her head on my chest. Luckily I know the floor is clean. "I-I'm sorry." Liz sobs into my chest adding new cracks into my breaking heart. "Hey." I kiss her head and pull her closer. If possible. "You have nothing to be sorry for. Nothing." I whisper. "Did you not hear me through the door?"
Liz's sniffles crawl to a stop, and after what feels like a few minutes, she speaks up. "I love your smile." She lifts her head off my chest and looks at me. "You're right. I love your smile even though you hate it." I smile at seeing hers. "There it is." Liz lightly laughs and wipes off the stray tears she has on her face.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
I rise to my feet and help Liz onto the toilet seat again. Grabbing a new rag from Underneath the sink to clean up her trail-stained red cheeks and puffy eyes. "Don't worry. You still look beautiful." I wink at my girlfriend, that looks up at me with nothing but care. "Are you okay?" Liz closes her eyes as I wipe them. "No," I answer honestly. "I'm mad and upset by your fathers' actions. They hurt you. And my feelings. Probably Courts and Ness'." I rant.
"I understand." Liz sighs as I drop the hand towel in her hands. "I hate him." She concludes. "Li-" "No. I do. He disrespected us all. I've never seen him act like that! And what was up with the vague homophobia?? He's known about Court for the last two months? We've been in the news! I don't get it." Liz grips onto the sides of the sink and hangs her head.
"Do you hate me?"
I look at Liz in the mirror as if she's turned blue and grown 7 feet. "What?" I watch her hands let go of the sink and wrap themselves around one another in front of her stomach. She's anxious.
"Why would I hate you?" I question and bring myself closer to her. Liz opens her mouth before giving up on her words and shrugging, making me shake my head.
"Liz, I know you were listening earlier, so listen again. I could never hate you. Could I be annoyed or slightly frustrated? Sure. Has that happened yet? No, never." Nice safe. "So it stands to reason that I could never hate you. I don't want that thought to ever cross your mind. Ever. You're an Angel on earth."
"Do you still want kids someday?"
I look Liz up and down, catching her hand placement this time. I move gently into her space and grab her hands to lace them in mine. "With you? Of course."
Liz lets out a relieved sigh/laugh. "I'll never forget when you blurted that question out in the New York apartment." I laugh back. "I don't know what possessed me to do that."
We stand like that for a few minutes more. But for Liz, I'd stop the world and stand here forever.
_
After leaving the bathroom to find the twins on the floor with tears in their eyes, claiming that they weren't listening to our private conversation (liars), we made it back to the site of the crime. To find everyone there but one person.
"He's in the study upstairs," Jarnie says before anyone of us even thinks about asking. "Why is he still here?" Mary-Kate sternly asks her mom. "We don't want him here. He ruined the day." Ash backs up her twin and returns to Louis side. They're cute. "Lizard.." Jarnie walks up to her youngest and wraps her up. "I love you. No matter what. You know this, honey." Jarnie rubs her hands up and down Liz's back. "Do you want to..."
"Y/N." I pull my attention from Liz and her mother to Courtney on my left. "Hi." She shyly looks at me. "Umm, look, we're going to talk to Lizzie as well, but Jake and myself and, uh, Trent are just horribly sorry for how our father acted. Like he's-" "Never acted like that." I finished her sentence for her. "I've heard."
"Right. We're just so so sorry. We all love you and think you're wonderful, and oh god, I had all this to say-" I look back to see the twins now joining Liz in her convo with her mom.
"The study." Court looks at me, puzzled. "The study?" She asks, and I nod. "The upstairs study. Where is it?"
The lightbulb goes off above Court. "Up the stairs. Right hallway. Second door on the left."
"Thanks." I nod at her instructions and start working my way out of the kitchen, passing my lovely girlfriend with a kiss on the head. "Babe?" I turn back to face her when she grabs my hand. "Where are you going?" She knows. "Liz-" "No." "Liz, I want to speak to him." "No." She grips me harder. "Stop, let's just leave." I shake my head to her as Liz's sisters and mother watch us. "No. I'm sorry, Liz, but I'm not letting this go without speaking to him. He doesn't get to push anyone of us like that." "But-" She loosens her grip on me. "No buts, babe. I love you and respect everyone here, but I respect myself too. Maybe not all the time," I squeak out a laugh. "Okay. I love you too. Be careful."
"Always." I kiss her head and give a nod to the twins. "Y/N?" Jarnie calls out to me just as my foot hits the bottom step. "Yes?"
"Thank you for being there for her. In more ways than one." Jarnie covers her mouth, her hand as if debating something. "The first Thanksgiving, our Lizard, brought someone home, it was a blonde hair man whose name I forget, and I didn't like him all that much. No one really did, but we played nice for her sake, and we wanted what made her happy. But he came and went... Then Robbie happened. And he was a nice change of pace for her. Kind and caring, but something was missing that David and I couldn't put a finger on. But once again. We just wanted what made her happy." Jarnie stops as she walks closer to me, taking my hands in her own. "Today." She starts. "Today, I saw her eyes shine, and her smile shine brighter than ever before. You're right for her. Everyone here can see that. Including David." I tilt my head a bit at that last word. "No, I know. That sounds ridiculous, but I think it's true. He doesn't want Lizzie to be hurt again. He's a scared old man." She laughs. "But how he treated you and Ness, for that matter, is unacceptable. So when you get done yelling or talking or knocking him a new one, find me so I can do it as well. Okay?"
I laugh and smile at Jarnie. "Yes, Ma'am."
"Oh, stop with the Ma'am. You're going to be family soon enough. Mama J is fine." She pulls me into a hug that has the warmth of a loving mother. "Family?" I question. Mama J nods. "When you and Lizard are ready, you have my wishes."
Shocked isn't a big enough word to describe how I'm feeling. "Oh wow. Thank you! Thank you. Liz and I haven't even been together that long, and we have our whole careers and everything plus-" "Dear." She stops me. "It doesn't have to be tomorrow. I just don't see you going anywhere anytime soon. You and Lizard have already been through what most people go through in a lifetime. So I have faith. No, go upstairs. He's probably brooding." She pats my shoulders and heads down the hallway towards the bathroom Liz was held up in earlier.
Sensing someone watching me, I move my gaze to them. I see Liz watching me with a smile I've missed over the last half hour. "Did you hear all that?" I asked with a hushed whisper.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She replies in the same manner. "Uh-huh." I playfully roll my eyes and head up the stairs. In less than forty steps, I'm up the stairs and down the hall in front of the study. I stand there staring at the dark oak door breathing in and out. Calming my nerves that are making their appearance once again.
"Let's fucking do it." I knock on the door and twist the handle to open it.
"Mr. Olsen?" I ask I my eyes scan the darken room. Bookshelves and paintings line the wall. Amazement and wonder fill my eyes, and I'd love this room. On some other day. Because right now, I'm here for the man sitting in the brown leather chair. What appears to be a first-edition book of some kind in his hand.
"I'd like to discuss what happened downstairs." I firmly imply as I close the door behind me and stagger my steps to behind the chair oppose of Liz's father. "How so?" He closes the book and lets it rest on the table next to him giving me his full undivided attention for the first time today. "I'd like to know why you did what you did," I state, earning a Hmm.
"What was it that I did?" He's baiting me. "Mr. Olsen, I would just like an explanation as to why what happened. Happened. Was it something I did or didn't do?" He remains silent. "Is the fact that two of your daughters and I can't believe I'm saying this are in a same-sex relationship?"
"Don't be so naive, Y/N." He leans back into his chair. "Excuse me?" I say.
"I don't care if my daughters have, as you put it, a same-sex relationship." I lean forward. "Then what was that?"
"What was what? What did I do?"
I clench my jaw as he goes to pick up his book. Fuck it.
"Okay. Sir. You want to know what you did. What you already know." He closes his book once again and looks up at me. "You just pushed and pushed Liz to embarrass and humiliate herself out there in front of the people she loves most. And whether you like it or not, as you so claim, I'm on that list of people. Now are there days where I feel as if I don't deserve it? Sure. I'm sure you love to hear that." I stand away from the chair and let my feet guide myself around the room. "But that doesn't mean I don't love and care for your daughter every goddamn day as if she created the very ground I walk on. And I know. I know you love every single one of your children. You want what's best for them, like every parent should, whether they're blonde-haired assholes or guys who give her the world only to rip it away again and again. However, how you acted downstairs makes me think otherwise." I point my finger. "I'm better than both of those guys will ever be, by the way. Oh! Also. Liz talked about how you're a man of respect. You earn it, give it, or don't bother, right? So where was my right to earn it in your eyes today? Or Ness, for that matter. She and I had today to make you see how much we love your daughters, and you couldn't bother. Everyone else could. But not you? What is this a test." Mr. Olsen stands for the first time since I walked into the room. It throws me off a little, but I don't stop.
"And just so you know, I have worked my ass off to even be where I'm at today. These last few months haven't been easy, but I'm here. I'm a fucking artist now. And no, your daughter didn't do anything for me except support me. So before you go off thinking I'm only with her for money or notoriety, that's the furthest thing from the truth. I didn't even know who she fucking was till after we slept together!"
Okay, I should've kept that last one in.
I stop myself and look at the man I've been yelling at. "I'm sorry." I freeze, realizing the words that just left my mouth. "No, wait, no, I'm not. I'm not sorry. You treated me like dirt so I could yell at you and tell you that I love your daughter and that I don't plan on going anywhere."
The silence that follows speaks for itself the longer it goes on.
"I just want what's best for Lizzie." Her father breaks the tension in the room as he leans himself against what looks to be a hundred-year-old desk. "I do too." As if that's not obvious, I want to add on but refrain from doing so. "I respect you for coming up and laying into me; however, how you did so was only because of my arrogance, and for that, I'm sorry."
I don't say anything.
"Now.." David takes a pause as he pushes himself off the desk. "I don't know if you're the one for my daughter. You appear to be so." Here we go. "You make her happier than anybody I've ever seen. I would hate for her to lose that." Implying I would do something to hurt Liz. "I understand." I extend my hand to him. He looks down at it and shakes it as I open my mouth. "However, I can't accept your apologies. You hurt your daughters' feelings and my own today. I know you're a smart man. Capable of reading the room and the emotions within it. I thought what you did knowing that was mean. So thank you for your respect and for letting me know how happy I make my own girlfriend, but I don't need your respect for myself. I only need your acceptance for Liz's sake."
"I see."
"So once you apologize to your daughters and to Ness, then I'd love to sit down with you and talk about everything under the sun. Once again, thank you." Without another word, I drop his hand and turn my body to head out the door. Mr. Olsen doesn't stop me.
Liz POV
We all look up as we hear the study room door close. Yes, all. All of us who surround the table now stand at the bottom of the stairs.
Y/N appears from the top of the stairs, not with tears in her eyes or a clenched jaw but with a look of pride? Yeah, pride. "Hey, everyone." She smiles as she descends the stairs. "So!? How'd it go." Jake speaks up. Out of everyone, he was surprisingly really nervous for Y/N and made that known to me when he noticed Y/N was missing moments ago. "Umm.." Y/N plants herself in front of me, and behind the pride on her face, I see exhaustion taking over.
This day ruined us.
"It was informative." She decides.
"We thought we heard yelling," Ashley says as she earns a slap on the arm from Mary-Kate. I ignore them as I wrap my arms around Y/N. "It's true," I add. "Maybe a little." Y/N turns to my mom.
"If you want to go up, you can."
"Oh, honey, I will soon enough. Before we leave."
"Leave?" Y/N questions. "We're going to my- our house." I correct myself. "Our home here. To finish the rest of this day. Dessert. Board games. Movies. Nap somewhere in all of that." I do my best to smile as Y/N doesn't say anything, but I can tell she's thinking. "Is that what you want?" She asks. I honestly want this day to be over. I would have loved to stay here curled up on the couch after stuffing my face more, but the thought of staying in this house longer than an hour after being forced to share things I never wanted to again makes me sick.
"Yeah. Family bonding."
"Okay. Then su-" The upstairs study room door closes again. "Lizard." My father calls out to me as my mother and Y/N move themselves before me. "David, how about some other time? The girls are exhausted."
"It won't take long." He argues. I wrap my hand around Y/N's and pull it as we leave the foyer to go to the kitchen. Ignoring my dad's eyes and pleads. "Did he apologize to you?" I ask Y/N as I begin packing the Tupperware full of food into a tote bag. "Yes and no." She says. "Babe, what are you doing?"
"Is he homophobic now?"
"No. Just old. Babe stop. You shouldn't be doing this. You're exhausted." She takes the bag from my hand and places it down on the counter. "I hate him." I reaffirm as Trent walks into the kitchen. "Lizzie." I hold up my hand to my brother. "Don't."
"He wants to talk to you. Apologize." Trent looks at me so seriously it makes me laugh. No, really, it makes me laugh. I cover my face with my hands to stop myself from crying as I do my best to keep my smile. "No."
"No?" Trent asks as the twins enter the kitchen now. Moving past our brother to help with the loading of the food.
"No, he doesn't get to just apologize."
"Lizzie, I don't think it's like that."
"I don't care what you think it's like, Trent." I fully turn away from the counter to look at my brother. "I don't care what Dad wants to say or do. He should've done right earlier or not shown up today. So it's too little too late." I turn back to Y/N and my sister, who each have a bag around their arms. "Let's go." I muster out as I avoid the concerned look from Y/N.
Trent moves out of our way. "You can tell Dad I don't want to speak to him. I don't want to hear from him. Tell him I said no. No is a full sentence."

Missed Calls Dad (2)
New Voicemail: Hey, kiddo. I see I missed you again. Umm. I just wanted to call and let you know that I wish you and Y/N a happy new year considering I won't be staying up. Everyone here misses you. Me included. Umm, anyways, so long. Love you, Lizard.
I drop my phone from my ear and onto the bathroom counter. As you can tell, I haven't spoken with my father since Thanksgiving. It hasn't been hard to avoid him, but it can't exactly be easy.
"In a minute!" I respond to the rapid knocking on that guest bathroom door that I'm on the other side of. "But Lizzzard, it's me!" I chuckle and put my phone away before opening the door to reveal my very drunk girlfriend. "Why, hello, beautiful!" The drunker she gets, the more of a flirt she becomes. "Hi, baby," I reply as she pulls me into a kiss. A kiss that keeps going and going from my lips to my neck and my collarbone. "Ba-aby." I fluster out. "We have to stop. Someone could see u-us."
"Let them." Y/N looks up at me with that mischievous look in her eyes. "Oh no. Not here. Not in Ivy's penthouse." Y/N bites down on my skin before removing her lips from me. "Fine. Only because you're so fucking smart." She huffs and fakes annoyance before breaking out her wide smile. "I love you." She laughs. "I love you too. Okay. Now move it." I turn her around and smack her ass, so she starts moving us back to the party.
As we whiz through people we know and don't know, Y/N locks her hand in mine. "I wish we had the party at our place." She whines, and a part of me agrees because I know Y/N is horny and would kick everyone out. Another reason is having Ivy and Max host a party was safer for us, especially after some concerning pieces of mail were dropped off at our LA place.
We alerted all who we needed to, but with the holidays, so haven't heard much back.
The pieces of mail were pictures of us. At first, we thought they were paparazzi pictures, but the closer you looked at them, they clearly were pictures a stalker would take. Photos of Y/N coming and going from her record company. Pictures of the two of us at dinner. Even a picture of us when we donated food and toys to the local animal shelter. Y/N's idea, by the way.
But to say we were freaked would be an understatement. I locked myself away in my cave for three days like a ball of anxiety before Y/N, and I discussed our next course of action. She blamed herself, while I blamed myself. But it's neither of our faults—only that assholes.
So anywho, it's been a crazy past two weeks between that and Christmas. Plus seeing Scarlett, Colin, Cosmo, and of course, little Rosie!
"Y/N! Lizzie!" Both of us turn our heads around to see Ivy. "Hey, you two! I've barely seen you since you guys got here!" "To you. Wait, you too!" Y/N stumbles as I just smile at Ivy. "What she said." I laugh and pull Y/N closer to me, not that she minds.
"Where's Max?" Y/N questions. Ivy takes Y/N's finger and points so it'll be easy for her to follow. "Ah!!!" Y/N squeals and drags the three of us over to see Max with a fashionably late Scarlett and a star-struck Sam..? Yeah! Sam, that's her name. The blonde that used to work with Y/N.
"Nice of you to join us ScarJo!" Y/N stumbles a bit as she taunts Scar. "Oh God, she's not drunk, is she?" Max intercepts only to get my nod. "She wanted to celebrate what the new year has in store for us." "Meaning?" Scarlett questions while laughing. "Multiverse of Madness, my new show, her record, us in general-" "Wait, stop!" Scar sets her drink down. "HER? New record?! She signed?!"
Apparently, this is new news to Scar. "Yeah, she did." I smile. "Oh, my God! That's amazing!" She focuses her attention on Y/N, who looks like she just won the lottery. Oh gosh, I forgot about her crush on Natasha Romanoff. "Come here!" Scarlett pulls Y/N into a hug. "Watch the hands, Y/L/N!" I yell to my girlfriend, who does nothing but gasp and pull Scarlett into her again.
Oh, she's so going to get it.
Once everyone stopped hugging one another, I not so gently and calmly pulled Y/N onto my lap once we all gathered around a table in the corner of the room. "Mine," I whispered into her ear as Max questioned Scarlett about Black Widow and The Outset. "Yours." She whispered back.
"So, will you keep the name Y/N or create a stage name?" Ivy asks as her fingers dance around on Max's neck. I hide my smile behind Y/N, knowing the name she came up with. "Stage name." She says with a wave of her hand before flopping into me. "Do we get to know it?" Sam laughs.
"Oh yeah, sure, it's-"

Coffee Spills - Justin Herbert
Tumblr media
The morning starting out pretty well for Justin. He got up early, spent some time in the gym at his house, cuddled with his cat Nova, and his favorite hole-in-the-wall cafe was not busy at all at 10:00am on a Wednesday. Maybe it was the cloudy weather and rain keeping people from being out in the typical sunny southern California weather. If anything, he was extremely grateful.
"A medium iced mocha for Justin!" the barista called from the bar.
Justin got up from leather couch and went to get his drink. He mumbled a thank you to the barista and slipped a $20 in the tipping jar as he turned around.
Just as he did, he collided with another person and he stumbled a bit in shock, his drink flying forward and onto the person in front of him.
"Oh my god!" A feminine voice shouted.
Justin looked up in shock to see a young woman attempting to plot away the large, dark coffee stain that spread across her white blouse. She was dressed in business casual clothing and Justin had a sinking feeling he just ruined her shirt.
"Oh shit! I am so sorry!" He stumbled over his apology, immediately grabbing handfuls of paper napkins and attempting to blot the shirt as well.
The young woman sniffled and swatted his hand away. "No, no, it's ok. I suppose this is icing on the cake of my life. I don't get the job I wanted and then get coffee spilled on me." She started to walk towards a table in the corner, quickly ducking her head into her folded arms.
Justin stood there helplessly for a minute, looking to the approaching barista with a mop, unsure of what to say or do. "I'm very sorry for the mess." He said to the barista, who just shrugged her shoulder and smiled.
"Shit happens, dude. Don't sweat it. But, if I were you, I'd offer to replace the shirt of that lady over there. It sounds like she's not having a good day." She smiled at him and started to mop up the spill.
Justin scratched his head slightly before looking at the woman again. 'Fucking great job, Herbert," he thought bitterly to himself.
------
Anya had her head pressed down into the corner of her elbow, her chai latte long forgotten in front of her as she quietly continued to cry.
Her day was absolute shit. Just the worst day she's had in a long time. She was certain she'd be moving back to Washington after this last failed interview. There was no way she was going to remain in Los Angeles after the latest fiasco.
It didn't help her feel any better to have coffee spilled on her and that she publicly freaked out on a poor guy that didn't mean too.
Honestly, the floor could open up right now and swallow her up and she'd be thankful.
"Ehem." She heard.
She wiped her eyes and looked up to a sheepish looking man smiling awkwardly at her. Her eyes trailed down to see him holding out a plate with a slice of chocolate mousse cake on it. In fact, he was holding two plates.
"Hi.. um, may I sit here?" He asked.
She blinked at him before nodding shyly.
He sat down and gently slid the slice of cake over to her. "My name is Justin and I came over to say that I am so sorry for spilling my drink on you. I didn't realize anyone was standing close behind me and I should have paid better attention to where I was going. Please tell me how much your shirt cost and I can either pay for it to get dry cleaned or give you money to replace it." He rambled, his cheeks burning red with obvious embarrassment. He was very bashful, choosing to stare down at his hands as he spoke, not once making eye contact.
Anya smiled, wiping her eyes again before speaking, "You don't have to do that. It was an honest accident and I was having a bad day. I'm sorry as well for freaking out on you. What happened wasn't intentional and I've had my equal share of moments like that too. All is forgiven." She smiled at him and held her hand out to him over the table. "My name is Anya, by the way, and it is very nice to meet you Justin."
He shook it and smiled back. "Well, for what it's worth, bad days are few and far inbetween. Hopefully the next day will be a better one - at least that's what I always hope for."
She nodded at that. "I hope so. I didn't get the job I interviewed for, even though I was plenty qualified. No reason was given either. I guess that's just how things are sometimes." She looked down at her lap. She couldn't believe she was sharing such personal information with a stranger.
"Well, if they were dumb enough to overlook you as a candidate, then they clearly weren't the ones for you. What field are you working in?" He inquired.
"Well, not working right now per se, but I'm trying to get back into data analytics, but it is a field heavily dominated by men.. and as a young woman, I am usually the ONLY woman at these interviews with men much older than me. I often think they see me as incapable and inexperienced because of my appearance and my age. Yet, I'm sure if I had applied to be there personal secretary, I probably would have been a shoo-in." She said bitterly.
"That's total bullshit. Are there any women-led companies in the city you could apply for?" Justin asked, slightly angered at the idea of it all. He didn't know Anya well, but he felt for her. No one deserved to be disrespected like that.
"I've looked, but with only a BA currently and my MA half-completed at this point, it's been hard to get interviews with really good companies." She said.
"Well, where I work we might have something like that. I can ask around if you'd like. Do you have a Linkedin?"
Anya nodded and pulled out her phone. "Yeah, could I email it or text it to you? Who do you work for?"
Justin frozed up for a brief moment before clearing his throat. He hadn't thought that part through well enough. "I.. um. I work for the LA Chargers as a quarterback.. I play football for a living." He said lowly.
Anya blinked in shock. "Really no way? For real?"
Justin nodded and quickly looked himself up, cringing internally as he held up his Wikipedia page to her on his phone. Anya's eyes widen even more at the information.
"Well.. holy shit. I've never met someone who has their own Wikipedia page!" She laughed in shock.
"Yeah.. it's not that big of a deal.. really. I just didn't want you to think I was being a creep or something for asking for your personal info.. If you'd like, I can forward information over to our HR and see what's available. I don't know how much weight I have in hiring decisions to be fair, but knowing someone in the company might help." He offered.
Anya nodded in excitement at the prospect. "No.. I mean yeah, I totally get what you're saying. I'm just shocked.. You don't even really know me and you're being more than kind. The cake, offering to pay for my shirt, and now trying to help me get a job? I'm just not used to such kindness in a city like LA. I'm from a little town in Washington who has gotten used to the lack of hospitality here."
Justin nodded. "I totally get it. I'm from Oregon and it's a very different place than where I'm from too.. and yeah, I just figured I can help where I can... and maybe you're phone number?" He asked shyly.
Anya giggled at that last part. "Well, Mr. I-Have-My-Own-Wikipedia-Page, I think I can do that."
He smiled back shyly at that. "We'll have to try somewhere where I can't spill coffee on you," he joked.
"Well, wine stains as well so I better avoid where white near you!" she joked back.
As the two continued chatting in the corner of the cafe, the barista from earlier leaned against the side of the counter, gesturing to her coworker, "You see, I'm 2 for 2 this week in my matchmaking."
Her coworker rolled his eyes and said, "If only your own love life was that exciting."
"You ain't no better!"
They started to bicker quietly as Justin and Anya continued to be in their own little world together, both of them thinking, 'coffee spills aren't so bad afterall.'

Hi everyone! This isn't a very happy post, but it is very serious. Something happened yesterday and I just need somewhere to vent.
(No members of the Thunderfam are involved; it's about people I know IRL.)
I used to have this friend. My closest childhood friend. Our parents were also friends and had the two of us around the same time. I remember he used to have a lot of Thunderbirds toys. I guess that makes him the first friend I ever had in the fandom, even if we had no clue what fandom was back then.
Something I should get out the way is that we grew up in a religious background, and we were in the same congregation as kids. Later on when we were teens, we had a trio with another boy, who beta-read my stories for me for a while. During COVID, all our religious activities moved online, and we drifted apart. I’ll call my former bff ‘Z’ and our other friend ‘J’.
The longer the isolation went on, I started noticing that Z was no longer attending the online meetings, and whenever his parents were there they had these weird looks on their faces. Well, one day Z organised a Zoom call between the three of us and told us he’d moved out of his parent’s house and had converted to Islam. Me and J supported his decision, there were no hard feelings, and we promised to keep in touch.
Well, we did keep in touch for a little while. Z and I met up a couple of times, but that’s pretty much it. When the pandemic ended, me and J stayed in our congregation without him there. J got baptised and Z was there. J left for university, and my communication with him broke down as well, but that’s another story. At this point, I decided to change congregations for reasons unrelated to Z and J, which I’m not gonna get into here but let’s just say there were issues. I’m happy in my new congregation, but back to Z.
My mum and her husband are still in that old congregation to this day, and once I was there visiting them. That’s when I saw Z. He must’ve come with his dad. His mum wasn’t there for health reasons, which I’ll get into in a bit. That’s when he told me that he’d met someone at university. Mind you, he’d been at university for just about a year, and they were already engaged, talking about having kids, the works. He even told me they were planning on moving to another country. He showed me a picture of his fiance, and told me I’d be invited to the wedding. That was last April.
Now, I’m already annoyed at him because we’ve barely talked up until now, and any conversation we do have is by text, extremely short, and initiated by me. Honestly, if I hadn’t seen him in person, I doubt he would’ve told me he was engaged. I’m even more annoyed.
We get to his mum now. Z pretty much cut his parents off when he left, and his mother was understandably beside herself with worry. His mum is a lovely person. I adore her and when we were younger, she was like another mother to me. When I’d come round to his place she made me feel like part of that family. Hearing that Z’s hurt her so much really drives the wedge further.
Fast forward to yesterday. I wake up early because I had a congregation meeting at around ten. I open up TikTok. I see that Z has posted something, so I click on it. It’s a slideshow post with him and his fiancee goofing off. I look at the caption. It says, “marriage has changed me”.
She’s not his fiance anymore. She’s his wife.
He said, to my face, that I would be invited. I wasn’t. I was heartbroken. I still am. Not because I was interested romantically, but because I’d realised I’d lost one of my best friends. I went to that meeting, because I needed to be around people I trusted after what I just saw. But I kept thinking about it over and over. Eventually, I decided that it was a lost cause, so I sent him a congratulations on TikTok, and blocked him. I made a vent post on TikTok too. It’s still up, but I may set it to private at some point. The bridge was already burnt; I just cut the rope because there was no way to repair it.
20 years down the drain. No one ever mentions how painful friendship break ups are. He was like a brother to me, but I can’t be friends with someone who treats me like that. Like those two decades didn’t happen. I honestly think I'll be upset over this for the rest of my life.
Z, if somehow you’ve found this post and are reading it, I want to thank you for the friendship we had while it lasted, and wish you and your wife the best. May you have many happy memories together...

STEVEN GRANT X MALE READER
Y/n has been at work for the past fourteen hours. And Steven has been counting every second of it. Waiting for Y/n to get on his lunch break. Everyday Steven sends pictures of themselves once the other is on their lunch break.
Today Steven had a no work day and he wanted to spend time with Y/n but he had to work. Y/n works as a stockbroker at one of those wolf of wall street types Stratton Oakmont in its prime type of business. He was the owner so he was respected and very busy but always missed boring meetings to go hang with Steven.
Sometimes he'll send one of his workers or his assistants to go to his house or museum or wherever Steven is at to check on him and buy him something to eat.
But the downside of their routine is people are always wanting to talk to Y/n during his break trying to get a promotion. Of course Y/n sends the fake people out but the real ones who're actually trying to get to know him talk too much in his opinion.
Today is one of those days during lunch "Learn things about the boss!" Today and there are like thirty people in your office trying to talk to you. You had your headphones not even bothering to make an effort that you're listening to. Looking at your phone eating your lunch. Only looking up once in a while to make sure they ain't stealing or killing each other. You see the reminder you set to send Steven a picture of you. "How do I look?" You ask looking at all of them. The whole room goes silent looking at you examining you. They all give you praise and roll your eyes. "Someone gets Jenny shes always honest with me." Everyone tries to get out once trying to find jenny. Once some one finds her you ask her do I look. She eyes you up and down and says you look messy but good. The response makes you smile and praise her for her honestly.
You look at the mirror one last time before sending Steven a picture of yourself. You hype yourself up in your mind saying that you should be a model. You giggle to yourself and make everyone look at you. "What! All of your lunch break is over to get back to work." A chorus of yes sirs leave the room leaving you by yourself. You get up from your chair and walk around making sure everything is in the right spot and nothing is missing. You hear a buzz from your phone and walk over to it picking it up and clicking on the picture to see what Steven is doing. It's Steven wearing your boxers loosely while their cum stains on it and cum all over him. You were about to text him but before you did he sent you another picture. It was his fingering his whole while jerking off.
You begin to get hard in your pants and walk over to your door and yell "Keep out!" and slam it locking and closing the blinds to be extra careful. You walk back to your desk and send Steven a picture of your hard on. Steven had seen it as soon as you sent. He sent you a video of himself sucking the dildo you bought for him when y'all had yall's first date. Most people would had thought you were crazy but you didn't care you wanted the old or sex talk out of the way in your relationship. The thought of him keeping for all this time made you dick throb. Before you were dating you'll just find a desperate female worker or man you didn't care much to solve this problem. But now since you're in a pretty deep commitment to him planning to propose cheating is out the window. Steven sent you a video on the dildo deepthroating it while he played with his hole.
You keep replaying the video over and over listening to it and imagining it's you that hes sucking. Well you started to record yourself jerking off and groaning his name as you imagined his mouth sucking your cock dry. Once you were satisfied with the video you stopped recording but you didn't stop fucking yourself. You set your phone down and started to close your eyes focusing about Steven's body and how it reacts to your cock. Oh god at this point you were rubbing your cock onto your desk for extra friction. Your phone buzzed and picked it up fast looking to see what he sent. It was him riding the dildo screaming your name and moaning your name and cum flying out his cock. Some of the cum landed on the phone and even more than before on his stomach and thighs. You begin to wonder how much Steven is masturbating. It's only been a few hours you look at what time it is and you gasp. What the hell fourteen hours. You slapped yourself in the face to stay up for too long. You shock your head. This is not the time. You'll make it up later but right now you gotta focus on cumming. You start to replay and stare at all of the pictures and videos. But the one when Steven sucking on the dildo makes you cum on the dot.
Once you come out of your heaven you clean yourself up and the desk. You fix your clothes and hair and pick up your keys and your other things like wallet, phone and ID. You walk out of the office and tell your right man to take care of everything. You find your driver and ask him to take you home. Once he drops you off you walk into the house closing and locking the door. You strip off everything besides your boxers. And leave it in a random corner. You make sure to bring your phone and walk around the house looking for your bf. Once you find him you see him jerking off to some of your older and new nudes you sent him at the start and weeks ago of your relationship. "We should make a new album once I propose." Your voice scares him and makes him jump and yelp "Y/n! h-hi! You said your g-gonna propose when?" You laugh and walk over to him raising his chin up "I can't believe you pulled a stunt like that. Really sending me a nude at work like the slut you are." You slap his face lightly laughing. "What if my workers saw and saw how slutty their boss bf is huh? And they all get their panties or boxers wet because of my whore of a bf." You look down at him with dominating eyes while he looks up at them looking pretty and almost like an angel. "Thats your dream fantasy huh slut? Looking so pretty to other people but they can't touch you because you belong to me. Do you belong to me Stevey?" Steveny shakes his head yes. "Good boy."
"Now I want you to suck on my cock like you did to the dildo. Okay boy?? Now go!" Steven does as he told pulling down your boxers fast taking your cock down his throat with no hesitation. You begin your record Steven laughing. "Welcome to Mr Steven Grant future l/n first porn video." The truth is this isn't the first time Steven has done this. It's one of your guys things that brings you closer. Surprisingly Steven had brought it hope at first you didn't trust it since you are a celebrity and well respected and honestly better than Tony stark business man but soon you didn't even care you loved being filmed and doing the recording. You two have days of footage of the other or both of you together. Steven's favorite one of them is your first time being powered bottomed like your first ever time was with him. And you were a moaning sobbing mess. You even called him daddy. But he hides the video from you since you would kill him you found out. Your favorite one of him that you was fucking him at some charity. But you did it in the owners office of the charity. You asked the owner if you can record the meeting she said yes but you were really recording Steven riding your cock in the meeting on your lap.
Steven was growing tired and you noticed so being the good bf you are you took control. Taking him by his curls yanking his head down and up on your cock. "Look at the young porn star letting the guest fuck his mouth without mercy." You say zooming in on his face. "Did y'all know the Y/n L/n boyfriend is a total slut and cocksleeve for him?" Y/n pulls out his cock from his boyfriend's mouth and slaps his face with his cock with a few laughs. "Now watch as the L/n cock split his throat in half." You say to the camera opening Stevens mouth with your hand and placing it back onto his head. You snap your hips forward hitting the back of his throat holding him still. His wet nose touching your stomach and his hands scratching your thighs hard enough to scar. You begin to face fuck him even faster when you feel your orgasm nearing "Fucking h-hell your slutty throat is gonna make me cum!" "Ah fuck" Stevens eyes roll backwards when he taste the salty liquid. You cum deep in his throat recording his every move. You pull out and finish off your load on his face. You take off your underwear and throw it in some random corner in the room.
Steven lays on his back trying to catch his breath while cumming onto his stomach. You record him as he runs down his high. You record what his face, thighs, and stomach looks like and walking around the room showing the camera all of the toys Steven had been using when you were at work. "And look what the slut did to my underwear its cover in cum! And my pillow! Hes such a slut!" You show the camera your boxers and your pillow. "Look at my thighs they're bleeding!" You laugh and walk towards the bathroom starting bathwater you set up the camera leaving and you come back to Steven who's almost about to pass out and getting into bath placing him on your lap kissing his shoulders.
"I Love you Mr l/n" You say kissing his neck. Steven hums a "I love you too" relaxing onto your lap.
THE END
I love you all-love papa bear

tti episode 10
“Last time on Total Takes Island: things got heated in the kitchen- literally- and the Anons ended up exploding a ten-thousand dollar state-of-the-art mobile cookery, resulting in their epic failure and elimination of the ever-paranoid Frollo. The Fujoshis stole the challenge, mostly thanks to Courtney’s willingness to step up, and a little because of McLovin’s surprising hispanic heritage. Will the Fujoshis keep their lead? Will the Anons ever start getting along? Find out now, on Total! Takes! Island!”
The communal bathrooms are empty at this point in the morning, as almost no one’s awake so early. The sun has just barely risen over the lake, and it’s still a nice periwinkle blue out. Only one camper is fully awake and in gear.
Julia’s head peers around the side of the outhouse confessional, checking to see if anyone else is there. When she’s sure the coast is clear, she sneaks in, closing the door behind her, and begins fidgeting with the camera.
---
Julia shakes it around for a moment, grunting in annoyance before sighing and sitting back, crossing her arms.
JULIA: “I didn’t want for it to have to come to this. I really didn’t… Mostly. But he’s left me with no choice! That little insect is going down,”
Julia reaches forward again and the camera fizzles out.
---
The memory card pops out and she inspects it for a moment, memorizing the make and model before setting it back in place and hurrying outside.
Most of the tech- the computers, the mics and cameras, the maintenance supplies- are housed in a small green tent some ways beyond the mess hall. Julia’s seen it before on various challenges, always keeping it in the back of her mind, but this is her first reason to make use of it.
At this point in the morning, not even the camera crew are up yet, leaving the tent empty and ripe for the picking. Julia sorts through a few plastic bins on a wire shelf before finding one full of the correct kind of memory cards, pulling it out and setting it down by one of the computers, which she takes a seat at after.
She picks the first chip up. “Let’s get to work,”
---
JULIA: “I’m no genius, but I’ve picked a few things up here and there. Computers are a lot like people- say the right things, and you can bend their reality to your will!”
---
“Rise and shine, campers!” Chris’ voice blasts through the intercom, all too loud for 7 AM. “If you’re not up already, now’s your time to head down to the mess hall and stock up on energy for today’s challenge- it’s a real killer!”
He laughs before the intercom crackles out. Courtney smiles, slipping out of bed to stretch and dress themselves just as Ass walks in. Bonnie looks at the two from their bed, and then turns over in it.
“Good morning, Courtney,” Ass says plainly.
Courtney nods. “Good morning,”
---
BONNIE: “Ever since the cooking challenge, those two numbskulls have made some secret agreement to pretend to be nice to each other so we don't lose again. It’s honestly kind of sickening to watch.”
---
McLovin knocks on the door, then peeks his head in when no response comes. “Um… Bonnie, Caesar wants to meet you in the mess hall in ten,”
Bonnie sighs, yet still smiling, and slides out of bed to collect their clothes and toothbrush. Ass gives a small wave before turning back to Courtney. “Rough morning?”
“What do you mean?”
“You just look a little tired. Better bring your Type-A-Game today, ha,”
And with that, they flip their hair over their shoulder and walk outside, following Bonnie and McLovin and leaving Courtney alone.
The mess hall is crowded this morning, as everyone is either actually eating or just waiting for the challenge to start. Julia walks in, the last of her team to show, and smiles brightly while sitting beside Michael.
“Where’ve you been?” Scruffy asks. “Chris is gonna show up any minute now, if my memory serves correct... which it often does.”
“Just taking a walk. Stretching, you know?” she smiles.
“Long walk,” Michael mutters, managing to swallow a bite of Chef’s green casserole without complaint. “You were gone all morning.”
“Just appreciating life, Mikey. Taking it all in,”
“I already asked you to not call me that,”
Scruffy watches the interaction with a perplexed, somewhat uncomfortable expression, and then moves their tray over to Max’s side of the table. “Those chicks, man. Weird,”
“Uh-huh,” Max says, refusing to look up from the book he’s reading to address Scruffy. “But most of you people are.”
They laugh. “We’re all a little crazy for coming on this show in the first place, huh? All the contestants are, it’s why we were picked.”
“I’m not crazy,”
“You’re… something, man,”
Scary suddenly slides over on Scruffy’s other side, smiling widely. “I like crazy,”
Scruffy swallows a lump in their throat as Max looks up from his book to them, and then across the table. Michael catches his gaze and waves slightly- to which he returns the gesture, earning them both a glare from Julia.
Across the mess hall, most of the Fujoshi table is silently watching McLovin as he tries to do his best Borat impression to lighten the mood. Bonnie and Caesar are talking amongst themselves, completely cut off from the rest of the team as they chat idly.
Ass turns their head and watches the two for a few moments. "You wanna share that with the rest of the class, kids?"
Caesar raises an eyebrow. "Ever heard of a private conversation?"
---
ASS: "Caesar and Courtney both have sticks up their butts, but different models, you know? Courtney is all "let's try to win today guys" and Caesar's all "fighting over a boy? what are you, twelve?" and both of them are annoying as crap. But at least Courtney will look at me when I talk to them."
---
“Alright, camperssss!” Chris says, walking into the mess hall with his arms outstretched. “Chef and I have been looking over the raw footage recently, and we’ve come to a consensus about what to do with all the hate and negativity going around you angsty teens.”
Scruffy and Staci look at Michael. Kelly looks at Julia, who looks at Max, who looks at Austin and Scary. Courtney and Ass try to avoid making eye contact, choosing to stare at Caesar instead. He raises a perplexed eyebrow.
“So we’re going to work through some of those difficult issues today with an intense trust building challenge!” Chris smiles. “Chef has already gone through and chosen your partners for you- and don’t worry, viewers at home- he left plenty of commentary on why.”
The campers make nervous eye contact with each other.
“Alright, let’s get to pairing up, shall we? Our first Anon duo is…” Chris reads from the cue cards he’s been handed. “Julia and Max!”
---
CHEF: “I like the little guy. The girl, not so much. But they hate each other more than I’ve seen any two competitors hate in a long, long time. I respect that,”
---
“For the Fujos, Bonnie and McLovin!”
---
CHEF: “Now, I’m sure what all the viewers wanna see is Coutney and that other one having it out- that’s what Chris said. I respectfully disagree, this is not the time, nor thee place. Plus, the goth doesn’t do so well when separated from the pastel guy,”
---
“Michael and Staci!”
---
CHEF: “Beetlejuice is a pretty smart, down-to-earth girl, even if she is oblivious. Pinkie Pie is like a walking headache. Not a good mix.”
---
“Caesar and McLovin!”
---
CHEF: “The pastel guy doesn’t seem to like anyone but gothy. The string bean is sunshine and rainbows and everyone else loves him. Not only that, but they both seem a little over their heads. Perfect.”
---
“Austin and Kelly!”
---
CHEF: “They’re sweet, like a nice, well-made citrus cheesecake. I wouldn’t wanna eat it every day, but I’d rather have lemon and orange cream than the burnt ass pie crust the other couples are serving.”
---
“Caesar and Ass!”
---
CHEF: “Again, that lavender dude… I don’t know, I just can’t see him getting along with anyone but that goth chick,”
---
“Scary and Scruffy,”
---
CHEF: “They amuse me,”
---
“And Courtney and Bonnie!”
---
CHEF: “I thought Courtney might need a break after all that drama, so I only gave them one challenge, and I made sure it was with someone they could trust. What? I can have favorites!”
---
The selected duos all equally grimace at each other, aside from Kelly and Austin- and Scary, who gives Scruffy a wide, enthusiastically creepy grin. They shiver.
“Now, if you’ll all please follow me out to the mountains, we can start our first challenge!”
---
“After some talking, Chef and I decided to go easy on you for your first challenge- it’s a simple, free-hand rock climbing trip up this massive cliff face!” Chris gestures up the 200 foot high wall, where an eagle cries before smacking into the rocky surface. The contestants stare.
“Um, excuse me, but which part of that is supposed to be easy?” Staci asks.
Chef comes out, dragging two padded mats, barely big enough to fit two people on.
“We got you some cushioned landing!”
Max looks pale.
“Here’s your belay and harness. One camper will pull the slack through the belay as the other climbs- if they fall, the belay will stop them from breaking all the bones in their bodies. Now, there are a few minor… setbacks, if you will, to even the playing field,”
“How does that make it even?” Bonnie asks. Chris shrugs. “I dunno, but it makes it more fun to watch!”
“The person on belay must also harness their partner up. It’s all about trusting each other, dudes. I’m sure you know the drill,”
Julia raises an eyebrow at Max. “I am not going up there,”
“As if I’d let you hold me up!”
“Guys, guys,” Scruffy says, stepping between the two as they shout. “Let’s chill, okay? Max, I’ll supervise Julia on the ground. No funny business, alright?”
Julia raises an eyebrow. Max rolls his eyes, but spreads his arms and legs for her to tighten the harness.
Meanwhile, Bonnie hooks up McLovin no problem, earning jealous looks from everyone else on the team.
---
CAESAR: “So unfair. I know Chef separated me and Bonnie on purpose. Otherwise-”
---
ASS: “We’d sweep the challenge, no problem. McLovin and I-”
---
COURTNEY: “Have been best friends since the very beginning. Of course, just when I have something good of my own, an actual friend, everyone else has to come in and ruin it!"
---
Max scales the cliffside with surprising ease, his small, compact body moving up the rocky face efficiently. Scary continues popping in and out around Scruffy, forcing their attention away every few minutes just for Julia to tug on the rope and force Max to glare back. She snickers as McLovin’s weak arms struggle to carry him up.
“C’mon, you can do this, MC!” Courtney shouts. “Put those spider-like limbs to good use!”
“Just don’t give yourself a hernia!” Ass yells after. Courtney glares before quickly remembering their “friendship” and turns to a forced smile.
McLovin shakily reaches for another jagged rock and hears a faint click. “Uh oh,”
Chef pours a vat of boiling hot water down from the top of the cliff.
Courtney cups their mouth to yell louder. “McLovin, your right!”
McLovin swerves, narrowly missing a lifetime of third-degree burn scars. Max is just barely ahead, though as he reaches up for another ledge, a tiny mechanical door in the cliff face opens and an army of bats fly out. He ducks, hanging from the rope while he covers his ears.
Chris stands next to Julia. “I’ll give you fifty bucks if you drop him,”
She pauses to think for a moment. “...Really?”
“Julia!” Michael yells.
She rolls her eyes. “Relax, Mikey, I was only kidding,”
Max clings to the cliff face once more. “I heard that!”
McLovin ambles ahead, using Courtney’s advice to scale the rocky mountainside as if he were a spider. Max watches him, and then grunts, moving upwards.
“Faster!” Julia yells.
“Why don’t you come up and try it yourself!” he shouts back. “You scheming, manipulative, lazy fake-blonde!”
Julia gasps. “MY BLONDE IS REAL!”
“You wish!”
Julia nonchalantly lets go of the rope, leaping back and crashing into Michael behind her. Austin bounds forward, grabbing the end of the rope in a bout of heroic generosity. Alas, he’s too weak, and goes flying, too, until Scruffy grabs his ankles and helps lower Max down.
McLovin reaches the top of the cliff. “The Fujoshis have won the round!” Chris yells.
Max glares at Julia, brushing the dirt off his blazer while storming away. She huffs and storms in the opposite direction.
Scruffy drops the rope and turns to offer a hand to help Michael up, who hesitantly accepts it.
“Thanks for that. Not letting him die, I mean,” she says, now on her feet.
“He’s a good kid. A little clueless, but he’s got the spirit. And between you and me…” Scruffy looks around, making sure Julia isn’t within ear shot. “I’d watch out for the company you keep.”
---
“This next one is a real favorite of mine: An ultimate cooking challenge!” Chris grins, gesturing to the few competitors in the room. Michael stands beside Staci, both looking malevolently at each other. Caesar and McLovin stand on the other side of the mess hall, just looking plain confused.
“Today, you’ll be preparing an old classic- fugu sashimi, a delicious little Japanese dish consisting of extremely poisonous blowfish!” Chris grins as Chef brings a tank into the room, setting it down on the podium Chris is speaking at. “These fish must be sliced very carefully to cut out the poisonous organs, and avoid sending your partner into catatonic shock. Any volunteers for head chef?”
---
MICHAEL: “I’ve eaten… a lot of weird things, admittedly, but sushi- poisonous or not- is not one of them. I just… can’t do fish. Can’t even touch them.”
---
“Are you sure you know what you’re doing?” Michael asks as Staci jabs at the blowfish with a skewer.
“Oh, yeah. My great-great-great-great grandma was a master sashimi chef in Tokyo,” they reply, brandishing the knife. “I’ll make it taste like chicken!”
“If you say so…”
McLovin watches Caesar expertly chop up the blowfish, smiling confidently while he uses the knife like a pro. "I'm glad it's just you and me, huh, bud? Those girls drive me crazy sometimes,"
"Isn't Bonnie a girl?"
Caesar blinks. "Bonnie is a goth,"
McLovin seems perplexed, but doesn't question him any further.
The end results are… varied, to say the least. Caesar’s dish definitely resembles a sushi roll, Staci’s more of a pink, wet salad. Michael stares at her plate, and then back to Chris. “If I die… actually, screw it. I hope I do,”
She takes a bite, chewing nervously, then swallowing with no problems. Chris blinks. “Wow. We may have a tie. McLovin?”
McLovin grins, popping one of the sushi rolls in his mouth and chewing confidently. An odd look suddenly crosses his face and he stares at his hands, face frozen, before dropping to the floor.
“Hm. All looks,” Chris chuckles. “Anons, you’re safe. Chef, you’re free to set up a cot in the medical tent for the lamp post. He’ll be fine in a few days… probably.”
Michael sighs, relieved, holding a hand up to her forehead. “Jeez. Thanks, Staci, you really did make it taste like chicken,”
Staci shrugs with a smile. “Well, duh, I just used all the guts and stuff. It’s all the same in most animals, anyway,”
A panicked look crosses Michael’s face (now green) and she runs outside to throw up.
“Better make that two cots in the tent,”
---
“Now, this next round involves not one, not two, but three challenges! It’s the blind triathlon!” Chris grins, holding up three fingers. “It begins with the blind William Tell, then the blind trapeze, followed by the wonderful blind toboggan- if you all live long enough!”
Austin stands still as Chris sets an arrow on his head, and then safety glasses over his eyes. Caesar receives a similar treatment, along with a few angry glares from Courtney and Ass. Bonnie gives him a half-enthusiastic thumbs up.
"Be careful," Caesar says. "My face is a high-value asset! So none of that posh 'I don't care attitude', thank you."
Ass rolls their eyes. "You know, I'd consider our paralyzed team member a more valuable asset, but you do you,"
"Yeah. What they said," Courtney speaks plainly, crossing their arms.
"Don't get sassy with me. That's my job,"
Chris interrupts their bickering with a lovely grin. “Much like the legendary William Tell, you’ll be knocking arrows off your partner’s heads with these apples here, while blindfolded!” Chris says, pointing at Ass and Kelly, and then to a wooden tub of red apples by his feet. “Now, as much as I’d like to be shooting apples off your heads, I thought I’d make it easy.”
“Whoever knocks off that arrow while causing the least amount of facial damage wins! Anyone taking off their blindfold will result in an immediate disqualification. Ready?”
---
KELLY: “I’m not worried. I’ve had lots of practice aiming with the paintballs, and Austin is so good at staying still and being quiet while I do my daily activities! He quite enjoys following me around, he’s like a cute little lapdog.”
---
Ass fires first, with no intention to actually hit the arrow, and continues to unleash an array of apples on Caesar while he yelps.
“Aim for the arrow! The arrow! You just hit my shin!”
Ass smiles. “Whoopsies,” and fires into his groin. He wheezes, and then collapses on the ground.
Kelly’s first two shots whiz straight past Austin’s head while he smiles. The next three hit him in the chest, and he doesn’t even blink.
“He’s like a statue,” Scruffy notes, writing down the commotion. Scary creeps up behind them before putting a hand on their shoulder, causing them to jump and run, screaming.
The commotion startles Kelly and they fire a shot before taking the time to aim, but it miraculously hits the top of Austin’s head. The arrow rolls off and he just keeps on smiling.
“The Anons got this one!” Chris turns to Ass, who’s still pelting Caesar with apples as he lays defeated on the ground. “You know, I'm enjoying this as much as the next guy, but you can stop now. Ass? Ass?” Courtney watches apathetically, arms crossed. Chris turns to Bonnie. “Are you gonna do anything about that?”
“Okay, that’s enough,” Bonnie says, shoving Ass backwards. They stumble and fall on their butt, finally lifting their blindfold as Courtney offers a hand to help them up.
---
“Alright, your next challenge is simple- two players will stand on this trapeze platform and wait until your partners tell you to jump and catch you. And you’d better hope they get it right- this pond beneath the set is full of jellyfish!”
Scary swings back and forth, upside down on the trapeze swing. Scruffy clutches the edges, trembling. “And you’re sure you’ll catch me?”
“Positive!” they beam.
Scruffy still shakes their head. “Positive?!”
“I swear on my grave!”
Scruffy takes a deep breath and shakily walks to the edge of the platform. Scary swings forward, holding out her hands. “Jump!”
They don’t move, still shaking. “Promise you’ll catch?”
---
SCRUFFY: “I’m not usually this nervous when it comes to TD challenges, it’s just… Scary is a wild card, man. She’s like Izzy and Crimson combined! Just that thought alone is terrifying!”
---
“Ugh, this is taking forever!” Chris sighs. “Fujos, go first. And you two-” he points at Scruffy and Scary. “Get it together!”
Bonnie catches Courtney flawlessly, despite the blindfolds, and swings them back and forth mid-air.
“Okay, just drop me on land, alright?” Courtney asks.
“I’m- trying! God, your hands are sweaty!”
Courtney slips out of Bonnie’s grip seconds later, falling into the pond of jellyfish. Ass smirks slightly.
---
“Okay, you can do this, Scruffy,” Scruffy murmurs to themselves, knees shaking. “It’s for the team.”
“Get on with it!” Chris shouts into his megaphone.
“You got this, Scruffy!” Michael yells from shore, still looking a little green. “I believe in you!”
Scruffy swallows a lump in their throat and approaches the edge of the platform, shaking. They take a deep breath, and then hold out their arms, bending their knees.
Scary swings forward. “Now!”
Scruffy jumps, screaming just before Scary grabs their wrists.
“Hah! Haha!” they laugh triumphantly. “I’m alive! I’m alive!”
Scary tosses them with ease, and they roll onto the shore. The Anons cheer.
---
“Not looking good for the Fujos, huh?” Chris chuckles, all the campers (nix McLovin) lined up. “So I thought we’d make a little deal. Whoever wins this round gets an automatic extra two points, making you both even-Steven. How does that sound?”
“What’s the tiebreaker?” Courtney asks.
“In due time, dear camper. But let’s talk about this- this is our blind toboggan race! Each team will have a driver and a navigator. The driver- blindfolded, of course- will steer, while the navigator makes sure you don’t crash. Now, if I’m being honest, I thought you’d all be gravely injured by now, so I guess I’m gonna have to make up these pairings on the spot, huh?” Chris pauses, tapping his chin. “Ass and Courtney… and Julia and Michael!”
Julia smirks, nodding, and both Ass and Courtney force a smile.
The top of the mountain has been cleared all the way to the bottom, a straight path cut down the middle for the sleds. Michael looks down nervously, then to Julia. “Are you sure you wanna-”
“I’m sure,” she says as Chris comes around and blindfolds Michael and Ass.
“Okay, if we wanna win this, we have to work together,” Courtney says. “You-you have to trust me!”
“As if- wait... I have a compromise for you,” Ass starts, their voice mellowing out as an idea comes to them. “You vote with me if we lose tonight, and I’ll listen to your probably-wrong instructions.”
“Alright, fine, but it better be someone good,”
Ass leans back and whispers in Courtney’s ear, who thinks for a moment and then nods. “I actually… don’t have a problem with that,”
Chris steps between the two toboggans at the start line, holding a little checkered flag. “Now, before I send you off, I’m legally required to tell you that I left a few surprises on the way down,”
“What?” Michael asks, looking around blindly. “What surprises?”
“I can’t tell you. Don’t you know what the word surprise means?” he sighs. “Chef?”
Chef kicks off both the toboggans, starting the race.
“Right- left! No, my left!” Julia screams.
“We’re sitting the same way!”
“Right! Right! Left! Left! Right again!” Courtney shouts, pointing ahead like a war hero in a painting. “Move just a little more this way- yes!”
The Fujoshi’s toboggan sails over a ramp-like rock formation and goes flying ahead of the Anons. Julia yells. “Crap! Ok, time to try an alternate route,”
“WHAT?!”
Julia throws her weight to the left side of the toboggan, sending the entire party into a trail off in the woods. Michael screams as they crash and bump down a rocky path, shredding the bottom of the wooden sled.
Courtney looks behind them, and sees nothing. “We lost them! Keep going!” they shout. Ass grins and leans forward, increasing their speed.
Suddenly, a loud boom catches both of their attentions and Courtney turns to see a land mine having gone off behind them. “Seriously!”
A bear steps out of the woods, growling and swiping a long-clawed paw at the two. Courtney pushes Ass’ head down with their own to duck, distracting both of them long enough not to notice the large patch of quicksand coming up.
Meanwhile, Julia swerves the toboggan again, sending the two off a rocky slope and back onto the main course with a rough bump. They slide down the end of the hill, crossing the finish line as Courtney and Ass come stumbling in seconds later, covered in mud.
“The Anons have won the challenge, and today’s game!” The team cheers, with the exception of Max.
“The Anons have won the challenge, and today’s game!” The team cheers, with the exception of Max. “Fujoshis- I’ll see you at the campfire ceremony tonight.”
Just about everyone walks off but Michael, lagging behind. She eventually stops walking, looking at the ground for a few moments before Julia comes back around.
“What’s the holdup, bestie?”
“I don’t know, I’m just… still upset about the Max thing, I guess,”
Julia walks over, linking her arm with Michael’s and dragging her along. “I honestly can’t say I’m surprised he’s finally ignoring you. He only really wanted you as an ally, after all,”
Michael raises an eyebrow. “What does that mean?”
“Oh… I assumed you knew. He was just playing you for the wins, but once it was clear you were my friend and I was going to protect you from being taken advantage of, he backed off,” Julia holds back a smile. “What, you thought he liked you or something?”
“No,” Michael shakes her head. “No, I guess not.”
---
The evening fills with the sounds of crickets and buzzing mosquitoes as the sun disappears. Max sits outside the back of the cabins, leaning against the cinderblock pillars holding it up and staring off into the distance with an angry glare on his face.
Julia rounds the corner, merrily walking by with a towel over her shoulder as if she were casually walking to the communal bathrooms for a shower rather than having come out there completely intentionally.
Max looks up and glares. “What are you playing at?”
“Hm?” she asks casually, turning her head a bit back at him.
“I saw you during the toboggan race. What’s your game? What’re you using her for?”
“You are so betting on the wrong girl,”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
Julia smiles, pulling a phone from her pocket.
Max raises an eyebrow. “Where’d you-”
“From Chris. I have slippery fingers, you know,” Julia holds up a hand before standing over him, making sure he can't see the audio file on screen as she turns up the volume. “And you might want to listen carefully for once.”
She holds the device up high, and lets a menagerie of cut-up words from the confessional footage play.
“Max, he’s a- good player. But I- don’t like- him. He’s- not- my friend. I’m trying to- get ahead- win- that’s all he’s- good for,” Michael’s slightly choppy voice reads off.
---
JULIA: “I just went through hours of footage, took out the best bits, cut them, sewed them together, and then added a filter to make it sound natural. What, like it’s hard?”
---
Max stands, flips Julia off, and storms back into the cabins. She chuckles, tossing the dummy phone away and continuing her walk to the showers.
---
“Fujoshis- you guys just can’t catch a break, huh?” Chris grins. “Nonetheless, our merge is only a few episodes away, and, unfortunately, few of you will stay to see it. The ones who will…
McLovin!”
Chris tosses a marshmallow at McLovin’s head. Still paralyzed, it hits his forehead and bounces onto the ground.
“Courtney and Bonnie!”
“Caesar- Ass- neither of you were exemplary today, but only one of you will be going home,”
Ass turns to Courtney with a smile. Courtney leans over and uses McLovin’s hand to salute them. Caesar doesn’t seem too bothered, though Bonnie is beginning to look nervous.
“And the winner- the survivor, if you will- the team champion- the sole victor-
Is…
Ass.
Caesar- sorry, bud, your contract has been terminated,” Chris grins, pulling a thick paper packet from his back pocket and tearing it in half.
Caesar’s face drops.
“Who- you can’t- but-” he stammers as Chef walks over with a wheelbarrow, scooping him inside. “Who- what did I do?!”
“Caesar!” Bonnie chases after the two as Chef dumps him in the boat of losers. “No- you can’t go!”
He stands, ignoring all the dirt and grime on his blazer to take Bonnie’s hands into his own. “Listen to me, Bonbon. You have to stay strong. You have to keep going,”
At the boat wheel, Chef rolls his eyes and starts the engine, driving off before Caesar can finish his monologue. “I’ll always be with you in spirit!”
“NOOOOOOOO!” Bonnie yells back as the boat disappears off into the distance.
Chris steps into frame, blocking Bonnie from the cameras with his award-winning smile. “Wow. Not a good day for the fandom. Who will go home tomorrow? And who will stay to play another day? Find out next time, on Total! Takes! Island!”
