So In this AU, Alora Luna is a city girl who came to the village of Encanto to study the origin of their miracle. She's the daughter of an anthropologist and scientist.

She always seems to be so prim and proper or even innocent to the public eye, but could actually be feisty and fierce when challenged🤣 She grew up with 3 brothers and was raised by their father.

Both Camilo and Valentino are unaware of Alora's "dark side"🤣 She can beat their a*s at football/soccer😂

Looking at these official storyboards and concept art for Isabela’s transformation during “What Else Can I Do?”, always makes me just say that we were ROBBED of her wearing a cool punk rock dress and a flower crown!

Don’t get me wrong, I love the splattered and colorful dress Isa had once she had her breakthrough during the song, but THESE ideas I have to admit, are so much more cooler and amazing! She’s got spikes, vines, PAINT on her face, and a beautiful flower crown, and she looks gorgeous! Lin Manuel himself said that her song is supposed to be a “Rockin’ Español” song, so her punk look would have been so amazing, it sucks that it was scrapped! 😭

However, I do have a few theories why they did, maybe it was time budgets, or maybe they thought all that glamor would be a too big of a distraction, but whatever the reason, I really love this look on her, and I DEFINITELY hope to see something like this on her in the future, maybe in a series or a short, whichever because I DEFINITELY headcanon that she looks like this after the events of the movie. Slay Isa! 😩💕🌸🌺🌵

Anyway the villagers,especially the children, absolutely love and adore mirabel but it took her way too long to finally notice it because why would she be considered useful without any gift to help them

Aw thank you!! I had such a great time designing all the Madrigals but Mirabel is easily my favourite so you can’t imagine how happy it makes me that somebody noticed the thimble in all that detail in the picture. Wanted to make you a little sketch to say thanks for your eagle eyes. 😘😘

And Pepa’s entire design was pure serotonin from start to finish but the rainbow ribbon was easily the best part to draw 🥰

I stayed up all night for this😅 Got way too many homeworks and stuff to do.

Just like all the other Madrigals, Dolores is a character I really feel bad for, even if we didn’t get to know her as much. Not only does she hear EVERYONE’S problems, everyone’s secrets and yet say anything or react to it, but according to Jared Bush, she always felt she was in Isablea’s shadow, and even though the film didn’t explore that, I can definitely believe it.

According to Jared, Dolores is 21, the same age as Isabela, yet she is slightly younger. She was born on August 31st, whereas Isabela was born on August 7th, both on the same year I’m assuming. Keeping Isabela’s golden child and perfect praise in mind, I wouldn’t be surprised if when the two girls were growing up, the focus was mainly always on Isabela, and why wouldn’t it be? She was beautiful, could grow flowers, and the future looked bright for her. I definitely think that Alma and the family thought that Isabela would grow and do wonderful things due to her power, and then there’s Dolores, who has super hearing. While her gift is definitely useful, I wouldn’t be surprised if people only asked her for things regarding that, and that’s it. Now that’s not to say I don’t think her parents, her two uncles, and Alma showered her with love when they could, but I think it’s clear that Isabela would be looked up to more, admired more. I definitely feel like Dolores went through the same phase Mirabel did, where she feels like no one really gets her, no one really pays attention to her or sees her entirely, thanks to Isablea being in the spotlight, as well as Dolores herself being a quiet oddball. It of course also doesn’t help when she figures out the man that she loves will be marrying her cousin that everyone adores, and all Dolores can do is be quiet and stand by while it happens, watching in pain. The thing is, we know that Dolores likes to slip a few things of what she knows out to the public, and a sad theory I have is I definitely picture Abuela being stern once and awhile after she caught her granddaughter saying something she shouldn’t have. It’s just sad to think about how Dolores hears everything, yet most of the time she has to keep her mouth shut in fear of rocking the boat or causing a commotion. She has to stand to the side, wether she likes it or not. I also love how she whispers most of the time, she’s clearly sensitive to loud noises and all, as she covers her ears when it’s loud, and claps with her fingers. Keeping that in mind, it pains me to also think about how due to that, she can’t really be loud, be expressive and have fun, which made me happy to see her singing aloud during “All Of You”. Anyway, she’s a very interesting character who has her own dose of angst to explore, people always ask her what she hears, but what about her? I really want to see more of her and her perspective, and since Adassa has recently said on her TikTok that she will be “Doing some things with Disney”, here’s to hoping! 🧡🎼🎧

Only 7 days left to back the book!

(Ad/Werbung) I can't believe how fast time has flown this year! I initially started this pink character challenge back in April, and only got to finish it now. So much has happened in the meantime, it's honestly so surreal :o We are only one week away from the end of the Kickstarter campaign, and I can't thank you enough for all the support my book has received so far. Thank you so much! I really hope you enjoy this new fanart piece ^^ Had loads of fun working with the various shades of pink!

I know it’s probably been said before but as an artist I can’t help but praise the character design of encanto

Like look at this whole cast of characters who are all related to eachother and still so distinct! One of my all time favorite facts about this movie is that the family are color coordinated! I love that so much because not only does it make it easier for the audience to tell which character comes from what side of the family but it’s also visually appealing!

Also the fact everyone’s outfit contains symbolism relating to their gift!? genius. and mirabels skirt being her own personal scrapbook where you can see she has everyone’s symbol a clever way to display her genuine pride for her family! Isabelas dress being closer to almas magenta than the other members of julietas family emphasizing shes closer with alma and is seen as her successor! I especially love how after “what else can I do?” She changes her dress colour to a dark blue representing that she’s finally found herself and doesn’t want to be just almas clone! She feels more comfortable with her own family and shows it by representing their color!

Also let’s talk about how pepas family all wear warm hues as shown to be bright, fun and ultimately happy. Which makes a lot of sense considering how pepas gift requires her to be happy all the time to avoid “bad weather”. Her family also wear warm tones to possibly help her maintain this and also because compared to what we see in the movie pepas children have a little less pressure and are considered more fun to be around! Also the fact green and magenta are opposite colors on the color wheel and Bruno and alma have a strained relationship. genius.

I just want to appreciate the character design because I feel like it’s just so creative and has had so much thought and heart put into it <3
