Looking at these official storyboards and concept art for Isabela’s transformation during “What Else Can I Do?”, always makes me just say that we were ROBBED of her wearing a cool punk rock dress and a flower crown!

Don’t get me wrong, I love the splattered and colorful dress Isa had once she had her breakthrough during the song, but THESE ideas I have to admit, are so much more cooler and amazing! She’s got spikes, vines, PAINT on her face, and a beautiful flower crown, and she looks gorgeous! Lin Manuel himself said that her song is supposed to be a “Rockin’ Español” song, so her punk look would have been so amazing, it sucks that it was scrapped! 😭

However, I do have a few theories why they did, maybe it was time budgets, or maybe they thought all that glamor would be a too big of a distraction, but whatever the reason, I really love this look on her, and I DEFINITELY hope to see something like this on her in the future, maybe in a series or a short, whichever because I DEFINITELY headcanon that she looks like this after the events of the movie. Slay Isa! 😩💕🌸🌺🌵

The Tumblr Sexyman Poll 2023 aftermath for the Submas boys.

Ingo could care less about the poll. Emmet has objections. Both see a good reason Ingo didn’t make it to third place again like last time.

Silly ideas that popped up:

The most absurd form Cecil could take for a sexyman poll is the Night Vale eye logo. So of course I went for it.

Reigen was fine in the end, if a bit traumatized. Cecil immediately lost interest in him when the results came in.

You know Cecil’s immediately handing that first prize to Carlos because he knows who the truest sexyman is. Which is why he even cares and is bothering to eye laser people.

No, I know Cecil never died. That was just the funniest thing Emmet could say in that moment.

Emmet went on a date with Cecil once. It went sideways when Cecil started saying weird things about spiders and they never tried again. Was Cecil eye-shaped or human-shaped? Emmet thinks it funnier to keep people guessing.

After beating Bruno twice, Ingo felt bad and gave Bruno a lifetime pass for the subway. As long as all his rats are in an appropriate carrying cage. They’re now friends and talk regularly.

Transcription:

Emmet: We have the same face, Ingo! At least work up some indignation for my sake!

Ingo: It’s just a silly poll, Emmet. It’s not a big deal.

Usually Encanto fans thank God that Bubo (Isabela’s secret love interest) doesn’t exist in the movie’s universe anymore, but I’m just over here glad that Casita being antagonistic towards Mirabel was scrapped.

This is a storyboard test, but there are a few other official artworks and boards of Castia being mean towards Mira, it was an old idea during production of the film. Casita would constantly push Mira out of the way, or just make her life harder than it already was. I think the one piece I disliked the most was casita pushing an old version of Mirabel up into the sky when she was asleep, so when she woke up, she was terrified to see her bed in the air. (Though the art there was amazing) Anyway, this idea was just so……mean spirited, it was bad enough that Mira as a character constantly felt unworthy and left out compared to her family, so she didn’t need the dang HOUSE being mean to her as well all her life, simply because she didn’t have a gift. I’m so glad they changed it to the house loving Mira, their relationship being strong and wholesome rather than it hating her. If you ask me, this idea is worse than Bubo, yes I said it! Isabela having a love interest was at least sweet and wholesome, this idea is just cruel!
