As much as we all want more Encanto content and thought that something really big was going to be announced at the the panel, I have to say that people need to keep in mind that Encanto came out not even that long ago, so expecting a second movie announcement or even a show announcement is way too early and unrealistic. These things take time, and not only that, but itâs very RARE for even Disney to be making more content (not counting merch) of their movies and all when the original source material came out not that long ago. I mean look at Moana and Zootopia, two other Jared Bush and Bryon Howard projects that came out in 2015-2016, and only NOW are announcing that thereâs more content coming. I say this because I kinda already see people harassing Jared and the crew, and being aggressive, and not only is thatâŠ.disrespectful, but people also need to keep in mind that the crew are humans beings and have their own lives, their own projects going on, so we canât expect them to just keep feeding us when they have other things to do lol. Of course, as an Encanto fan people have a right to be disappointed, I am too, but to the people who are genuinely angry and pissed, (the people who are harassing mainly on twitter I mean) yâall gatta chill. We all know that Jared and the crew are very passionate about this project, and have stated time and time again that they would love to make more content, but we all need to look at this on a realistic standpoint. We may get it soon, we may not, thatâs just how it is. But in the meantime, we should be thankful that we have Jared doing Q and Aâs, as well as voice actresses like Adassa having a ball. As Iâve said before, I do believe weâll get more Encanto in the future, but we just need to wait and be patient, thatâs how it works in the animation community lol. With that said, Iâm still more than happy to keep talking about Encanto, because I love the project dearly and I do want to see more, but to everyone who is upset, Iâm sure the future holds great things, we just need to wait. đ

Okay so as some of you may know, the Encanto D23 expo was today, and sadly nothing content related was announced, aside from the announcement that the film would be shown at the Hollywood Bowl (which is a concert.) Some of the cast and crew were there, they sang WDTAB as well as discussed what it was like to work on the film, but that was pretty much it. Is it disappointing? Yes, but that doesnât mean I donât think anything Encanto related from Disney wonât be coming at all. I feel like something definitely is coming judging by the things Adassa has said, and even if we donât get it now, Iâm sure we will eventually. đđŻđŠ
Putting that aside, Iâm HYPE for some of the animated projects Disney and Pixar has in store. Inside Out was one of my favorite Pixar movies that I was so obsessed with and loved to death, so Iâm glad theyâre making a second one. (I hope the writing is just as good as the first one!) Then thereâs âElementalâ, a love story between a fire girl and water boy who canât touch, and Iâm all for that! Iâm also of course ESPECIALLY hype for âWishâ, the animation studioâs next musical. Thereâs so much to look forward to!

Is kinda of interesting to think that, from a mother who struggles to repress herself, her kids are very good in hiding themselves /avoiding get into the spotlight (Dolores listens and fade to the background, Camilo literally turn into other people, and Antonio are prefer animals over people)
Thatâs one of the reasons why I love the movie so much. đ

what are your thoughts of mirabel as the new matriarch?
I have nothing against the theory, but ever since I figured out the candle doesnât exist anymore in the canon story, (confirmed by Jared) now I disagree with said theory and prefer this version because while the theory itself is harmless, people do need to keep in mind that there being no family matriarch is the point of the story, the point of the ending. The Madrigals donât need a candle or a person in charge to represent their love and miracle, they have each other, and thatâs all they need. Had the candle still been there in the end of the movie and had they established that Mirabel would replace Alma in the future, it would have took away the lesson of the film because we donât need an object or a top dog to symbolize how important this family is. Having a matriarch was one of the problems with the family before, because Alma was the one controlling her family and calling all the shots, practically making this a class system (if Iâm using the right word, Iâm sorry Iâm rusty with my talking) when in reality they all should be working together and caring for each other equally.

Although the generational trauma started with Abuela, she isn't the only one who passed it to her grandchildren, maybe to her children, but probably not to the grandkids
What I asking is: how do think the madrigal children passed their trauma to the grandchildren?
This is something that I would REALLY love to see in the future, just the triplets growing up, and how THEIR trauma affected the grandchildren. On my personal viewpoint, thereâs a few things I can say. We know that for starters, once Isabela and Dolores were born, Isabela was the one grandchild who was painted to be destined for great things, the perfect golden child, while Dolores seemingly appears to be a character that felt outcasted, one that people usually only go to for her power. Of course thatâs not to say I donât think any of the family gave her attention, but since she is labeled as the weird one and was confirmed to feel like she was in Isabelaâs shadow, the adults probably expected nothing but greatness from Isabela due to Almaâs influence, and heck, just her pretty perfect posture. We know that her mother Pepa is a VERY emotional person, the poor woman having to control her emotions when it was hard, so Pepaâs stress probably took a toll on the kids as well, perhaps making them think even further that they needed to be perfect and not mess up. It also didnât help that Bruno was barley around when he was still in the family, I picture the grandkids definitely witnessed their parents upset over him and anxious as well. Thereâs also AgustĂn and FĂ©lix, who probably had their own issues of not feeling worthy enough. Lastly, it certainly didnât help that as soon as Mirabel didnât get her gift and Bruno left, she became more stern on everyone, the trauma growing.

You asked what we think the magic rooms might look like? I think Dolores's might be divided into a bunch of smaller rooms, with weirdly shaped walls and popcorn ceilings to reduce noise. Probably very cozy, maybe with a lot of soft blankets and pillows. Possibly a room full of instruments just to provide a soothing nose to focus on. I mean clearly it's not enough(she heard Luisa's eye twitching), but Casita tries.
Oh I love this insight! đđ
Also I agree, feels like she definitely would have instruments in there as well!

Heyyy there! How have you been? Didn't hear from ya since a long time...
Hello! Yes Iâm still alive lol, so basically my sister broke her foot (donât worry sheâs okay!) But Iâve been helping her around the house, as well as my grandmother. So Iâve been very busy recently, and I should say that there will be times where I wonât post a lot, because I do have my own things going on. But please know that Iâm okay, and for those who stick around, I thank you! đđ

Hey guys! I know itâs been a bit, Iâm a little busy lately, but as some of you may have seen, Jared recently tweeted two important things! One, heâll be doing another Q and A, so hop to twitter now and ask him a question of youâd like! And two, most importantly, he made this tweet regarding D23 expo!
https://twitter.com/thejaredbush/status/1564315497612554240?s=21&t=NeEWtQATl3thOkguzWvB5Q
I think that something is DEFINITELY coming, so Iâm hype and canât wait! đđđđ

The fact that Iâve still seen people on twitter SO salty and offended for some reason that we still like a movie that came out awhile ago is soâŠâŠbaffling and hypocritical. LikeâŠ.first of all why are you so mad that I still like a movie? A DISNEY movie at that, one that was very successful and blew up when it first came out. And itâs likeâŠ.make-fun material I guess that we still enjoy it and want to see more. Second, these are the SAME people who still gush over films like Frozen, Moana, Zootopia ect, and those are good successful Disney movies as well, so whatâs so bad about Encanto that youâre mad that we still talk about it? People talk about films and shows that have been out for YEARS, yet when itâs Encanto itâs âLol that movie was overrated yâall have run out of things to sayâ- like omgâŠshut up. đ

"TĂo Bruno...all I ever wanted, it's to make the family proud of me... just ONCE
But if I should stop...if I hurting the family... just tell me"
Your comments of those lines and how hurt Mirabel is here?
(PS:I don't remember the exact lines)
I love this moment, because I remember a moment in an interview where Bryon Howard had said that this line wasnât an ego thing, she just wants to help her family and prove her worth, and yeah, theyâre right. Throughout the film Mirabel has struggled, but worked hard to keep moving forward on her journey, however tensions arise, Luisa losing her gift, the dinner scene ect, so Mirabel after seeing that sheâs in the vision, fears that sheâs the cause of all of her familyâs problems so far, especially since in their perspective, it looks that way. I have the feeling that in this scene she just didnât know what to do anymore, she was desperate to know if she should just give up because things were only getting worse, and since she wants to protect her family so badly, she was stumped, especially after figuring out that Bruno had been here the whole time as well. It only makes me love her as a character more however, because sheâs trying her best, she has the heart, and has good intentions. đ„ș

At first I thought about making a post where I show a picture of Pepaâs side of the family with the caption of âWe didnât get enough of youâ- but honestly? Iâd say that for the ENTIRE cast. Even the characters who DID get the screen time they deserved and the spotlight on them, I want to see more of them as well because theyâre ALL just such good and interesting characters that I would have no problem having the focus on them again. In conclusion though, I just want more of ALL of them! đ„șđ

In a way, I really think Mirabel is okay with no having a Gift, because she is okay with not having a "magical ability". A thing she is not okay, is that she is different from the rest of them and thinks she can't make her family proud without it.
She is okay with not having a Gift, but she isn't okay if that means that she can't make her family proud without having it. Because what she wants is to make her family proud, and in her mind she can't make her family proud without one (not a hater of Abuela, but she really messed up).
In the begin of the film when the little girl said that if she was her she will be really sad, Mirabel said that she is not sad and Gift or no Gift she is just as special as the rest of her family. I think part of her motivations to try to save the Miracle, is not JUST her saving everything that was important to everyone in the encanto (Although of course is still a big par of her motivation), but is that maybe with it she can have a prove that she can contribute to her family, and even SAVE it, without a Gift.
Conclusion: if the family Gifts wasn't what the family is know for, maybe Mirabel would not have doubts of her worth or her place in the family
100% agreed. Mirabelâs motive wasnât that she wanted a gift, it was that she wanted to prove that she could be of worthy, to play her part and make her family proud in her own way, which was something the filmmakers themselves had said. Fun fact, they at FIRST had the idea that her motivation WAS to get a gift, but they scrapped it to make her more relatable, and Iâm so glad they made that decision, because the gifts arenât whatâs the important thing, itâs their love for one another, the love that was stemmed from the miracle in the first place. Despite that fact however, that of course didnât mean that she wasnât secretly crushed about not having one, because yes, the Madrigals ARE known for their miracle, their gifts. They all have a part to play and a role, to serve the community and shine bright. MirabelâŠ..has none of that, sheâs not perfect like she THINKS her family is, and she doesnât shine like her family does. Your conclusion is something I ESPECIALLY agree on, because youâre absolutely right. This was exactly why Alma was the problem, and not the gifts themselves. Had Alma just treated her family like a normal family, had she not painted them as this picture perfect family to the village and pushed high expectations on them to the point where none of them could show weakness or share their struggles, things would have been better. Alma loved her family, but she was going about their miracle the wrong way, and we all know that. Instead of a family who could just talk to one another and feel comfortable with their emotions and desires, it was a family who each member had their own burden and secret, their own struggle and hardships yet they could never share it, since they felt alone in their eyes, seeing the other person as perfect and not wanting to rock the boat. I could honestly go on and on about the negative outcome of the previous family foundation, but mainly yes, the Madrigals being known for their amazing perfect gifts and nothing else affected Mirabelâs feelings deeply, because she felt that she wasnât helping or contributing when everyone else was. Itâs like how her parents tell her sheâs fine and has nothing to prove, but she still wanted to prove herself anyway, since sheâs been practically told all her life how important this miracle is and how everyone relies on them. I will however say that even if Alma letâs say wasnât as bad as she was in the film, Mirabel would probably STILL feel like she didnât belong because of mere fact of her not having a gift, BUT sadly, her feeling like she needed to prove her worth was definitely something Alma influenced anyway. Which is exactly why after she figures out her family are all human beings who go through their own hardships and also struggled with these expectations, she realized that she herself was always enough, and so is her family, even if theyâre not perfect.
