trans people who are anti t4t make me so sad. because beyond just not knowing what being t4t means, the fact that they believe that t4t is just being a chaser is indicative of a deeper issue, being that cis people have ingrained the idea that we are unfuckable and unloveable, disgusting by nature, and that anybody who would voice attraction to us, a step further, ONLY CHOOSE TO DATE TRANS PEOPLE, would be a pervert with a disgusting fetish who wont see them as equal.

thats not what t4t is.

t4t is the rejection of the idea that we are inherently disgusting, just because we are in the eyes of a cisnormative society.

t4t is the understanding that we are safer and stronger together as a community than apart.

t4t is seeing your trans boyfriend try on clothes from your old boy wardrobe that you hated growing up but now your least favorite shirt is your favorite because its the perfect shade of red that brings out his eyes.

t4t is teaching your trans girlfriend that has been scared to do her own makeup how youve learned from other trans women, who learned from other trans women, who learned from other trans women.

t4t is doing your testosterone shots together and kissing each others sticks after you put the bandaid on.

t4t is holding the door for your trans girlfriend and showing her the chivalry she didn't get from her dad growing up, but its ok because you can show her now.

t4t is being on the phone with your partner who just came out as trans/nonbinary after seeing you, YOU, live your truth, and them asking you to help them find a new name, the perfect name for them, and you hope theyll carry that part of you forever.

you are trans and that is beautiful. your transness is beautiful. trans love is beautiful. dont let ANYBODY make you feel unworthy of sex or love. THATS what being t4t means.

i know it's bleak out there for queer folks, but please keep this in mind: i can open Spotify right now with the intention of listening to trans artists and i wouldn't even know where to start. there are so many smart and beautiful trans and gay people sharing educational content, vlogs, and silly videos while openly and loudly queer. there are video games that allow custom pronouns, where you can romance anyone of any gender, where you can make characters that are asexual and aromantic and cant be changed. there are tv shows fully about gay people. cis/het allies are everywhere. PLEASE dont forget how far we've come. i love you, stay safe.

I’m actually so tired of the way twitter gays will be like “you’re bi and date nonbinary people? You’re gay and go both ways?? Youre aromantic but date people? That doesn’t make ANY sense.”

Like seriously do you not know what this community is about. The literal definition of queer means peculiar. Sometimes queer people are fucking weird and messy and don’t make sense and sometimes and it’s both confusing and beautiful. Some of you will literally be like “um there’s no such thing as bi lesbians” yet you still have the sheer and utter fucking audacity to be like “I love weird gays!”.

Yeah, you sure love your sanitized version of what it means to be queer. You don’t actually know what it means, you just think “lesbian means girls who like girls, gay means boys who like boys, bi means people who like girls and boys, and-“ when the entire fucking point of it is that not everyone fits into the boxes you assign them. Exclusionists can go eat a dick.

I am a true believer that any good faith lgbt identity is valid bcs it doesn't fucking matter what some random on the Internet identifies as and it doesn't fucking matter if their identity seems contradictory bcs ur not inside their head and u don't understand how they feel. My least favourite part about the lgbt community is this obsession with taking people who have finally escaped the boxes given to them by society and shoving them into other boxes (if they r uncomfortable with that obviously labels r important to some people). Also more importantly than u not being inside their head, the lgbt community is facing much much bigger issues than ppl who use neopronouns, trans people without dysphoria, mspec and he/him lesbians, ace ppl who have sex etc.
