I had a random thought of Washio wearing my oversized JJK comfort shirt and wrote this AHHAHAHHA

You could feel your cheeks hurting with how wide you were smiling. You feel your heart start to pound and your knees get weak the longer you stare at the sight in front of you.

Standing in your kitchen, hair messy and expression that of a man who just slept one of the best sleeps he’s ever had in his life, was your husband.

Your husband who was holding the coffee mug your sister had gotten him for his birthday, wearing the flannel pajama pants your grandmother got him for Christmas (and by some miracle fit him).

But by far your favorite part of his wardrobe this Saturday morning was the oversized anime t-shirt you had bought when you were a teenager.

The shirt you bought when you were just learning to express yourself.

The shirt you wore longer than socially acceptable and longed for when it was in the wash.

The shirt you sought for whenever you had bad days, as if it possessed some magical ability to make all your problems just a little bit better.

The shirt you had gushed to him about when unpacking your shared belongings into your first home (like he hadn’t seen you in it a bajillion times).

And now that shirt, by far your favorite and of great sentimental value, was being worn by the man you had chosen to spend the rest of your life with.

The man who pulled you from dark places and held onto you through rough patches, who anchored you to this world even when the going got so tough you started to wonder if you could handle it.

And there he was, yawning as he sipped his morning coffee and basked in the sunlight in your decade old, worn out anime shirt. “Good morning,” His raspy greeting was met with a chuckle as you made your way across the cold floors and into his waiting embrace.

You snaked your arms around his torso and softly dug your face into his neck. Your hands grasped onto the soft, well-known and comforting material as your lips placed gentle kisses on his neck.

You heard the clink of the ceramic mug as he set it down on the counter, and felt the warmth of his hands as they locked around your shoulders. His own kisses placed on the side of your head as the two of you soaked in the sunlight shining through the windows and the love radiating off of one another.

You whispered his name, he hummed for you to continue, you smiled against his neck and moved to hold him just a little tighter as you tried not to get too emotional.

Your favorite person and your favorite shirt, who would’ve thought the shirt you dreamed in, hoped in, hurt in would ever be worn by the person who wiped your tears and held your hand through all of life's greatest and hardest moments.

Another shaky inhale before you softly laughed against his neck, “I like your shirt.”

It has been three whole years since you were spotted at any of the EJP’s game, with the very last appearance on any media was of your announcement of your pregnancy with Suna. You still remembered how frenzied the media was about this news; you were used to it, though, since every announcement you guys made created quite a stir. When they found out about your existence, about your engagement and wedding to Suna, your lover made sure you weren’t overwhelmed.

With Suna becoming one of the top players in Japan since young, you knew what you were getting yourself into when you got into a serious relationship with him. In High School, the two of you do post each other’s faces but as he slowly gained fame and media presence, both of you decided to be smart and become more private. Of course, Suna saved all the images before deactivating his previous accounts. But you knew Suna was an online type of guy, so after creating new accounts, he still continued to post snippets of his private life. He wanted to show off, still. Aside from his friends and volleyball, fans could see a portion of your hand on his post or stories, the things you gave him and etcetera. It wasn’t because either of you were afraid of his fans or whatever, but more so for your safety.

After seeing such considerate gestures, you could only fall in love with him even more every day and made sure you supported him in any way. You remembered how Suna commented that he would love to have you and your son attend one of his game, but he could see how tired you were every day whilst looking after Rinri and working at home. He decided to drop the subject after only mentioning it once or twice, not wanting you to feel guilty about not coming to his games for so long. You, on the other hand, had actually planned to watch after making sure Rinri was actually ready to come to such a large crowd where adrenaline and noise level were at its peak and that day had finally come.

The big season has arrived.

You felt a soft kiss pressed against your cheek, followed by a hot breath and a deep chuckle, and then yet another kiss on your forehead. Stirring awake from your slumber upon the touches, you fluttered your eyes opened and saw a soft grin on Suna’s face. “Good morning, doll face,” your husband greeted, kissing your eyelids this time, “still looking as pretty as always.”

You lifted your arms and wrapped it around his neck, pulling him into your nape and nodded, hiding the tiny blush from your cheeks, “good morning to you too, darling. Good luck for your game today. Show them why you are the best middle blocker in the whole wide world.”

“Of course,” Suna then kissed your bosom before pushing himself up reluctantly, knowing he had to leave. “When I get back, I want to sleep on your boobs. And tell Rinri that I love him too, ya?”

“He knows,” you murmured back with your morning voice as you languidly propped yourself up with your elbow, causing your straps to fall off your shoulders, “but I’ll tell the lil pumpkin that.” Suna smiled and adjusted your clothing before leaning his face towards you, wanting a kiss. You brushed your lips against his cheek whilst massaging the other side. “And please, you literally pressed your nose into my breasts last night without asking. Suddenly you are being polite and asked?”

“Oi, you told me to be nicer to you. Guess I’ll just retract my promise,” Suna rolled his eyes.

“You won’t!” You gasped but Suna said nothing more and offered a cheeky smirk before driving to his morning practice. Since it was only 8 am, and the official match doesn’t start until in the afternoon, you slowly pulled yourself out of bed to prepare without any rush. You’ve worked so hard to keep everything a secret without Suna expecting anything of this surprise visit to his games, there’s no way you were going to ruin anything right now.

“Baby? Are you up?” You sang softly and peeped into your son’s room, and saw him already crawling down his bed with his Vabo-chan, his soft brunette hair all messy and sticking out. You can’t help but laughed whilst your child’s tiny legs ran up to you, hugging yours as he blabbered out his morning greetings and his ‘I wuv (love) yous’.

Bending down, you then carried Rinri in your arms and rubbed your face against his chest, tickling him and elicited bright giggles from him. “Good morning, munchkin, I love you too. Papa said that he loves you very much as well. So, want to get some yummies?”

“Yummies!!” Rinri cheered, accidentally letting go of his toy. You reacted quickly, catching his toy with one hand. With a sigh, you now wonder how you were going to manage once you were at the stadium. By the time noon hits, you had already wash up, eaten breakfast, or how Rinri loved to say it, ‘yummies’, and packed your child’s day pack.

Seated on the couch was Rinri with his little day pack, looking through if he was missing anything. Vabo-chan? Check. His favourite yogurt pouches? Check. Yeah, the important stuff were all packed. “Momma! I want to see Dada!”

As if on cue, you received a text from Suna.

“the game’s starting in 1.5 hours' time. Wish us luck, babe! ♡” - Rin

“love you babe! Good luck! ♡” - you

“wish you guys are here tho :(” - Rin

“but i know you don’t want riri to get scared so is okay ♡” - Rin

“my dear rin, just know that we will always be cheering for you no matter where we are! (⋆ˆ ³ ˆ)♥” - you

“i know. well, gotta go now, pretty! watch me!” - Rin

“always. 💕” - you

You emerged from the kitchen, a bemused smile rested upon your lips. “Excited, are we, munchkin? Come on, let’s get you dressed, and we can get going.” Hearing so, Rinri reached out to you with grabbing hands and sparkles in his crystal orbs.

You put on a mini EJP Raijin no.9 jersey and denim jeans on Rinri, making sure he had sunblock on as well, before promptly changing into your own outfit. Opting for a white satin camisole and a high waist skinny jeans, you finished your outfit in a pair of sneakers. With everything settled, you two stepped out of the house.

When you reached the stadium, you went through the normal procedures to enter — you made sure to get front row seats with the best angle to watch Suna’s play. There were news media and sports journalists who immediately recognized you, and soon a commotion formed around your section. No one approached you, of course, and you were grateful for it, since you just wanted to focus on your son and the game.

You kept Rinri secured as you two watched EJP Raijin entered the stadium. Your son’s energy immediately shot up and yelled, pointing at his father with Vabo-chan. “It’s Dada!!”

You laughed and nodded, “yes, papa is going to play.”

Rinri’s excitement might have been too contagious, as the surrounding crowd began to cheer for EJP Raijin’s middle blocker.

Cameras soon panned over to you, showing your beautiful face and Rinri’s adorable enthusiasm on the arena’s jumbotron. The commentators let out the classic teasing exhaled, gaining many’s attention to the screen.

“Ahhhhhhh, would you look at that? If it isn’t EJP Raijin’s Suna Rintarou’s family?” One said as the cameras zoomed into you. It has been so long since the crowd saw the Suna [y/n], the supportive partner of Rintarou. He has always mentioned your name and his gratitude to you during your physical absence from the crowd in the last three years, and your sudden appearance now was a pleasant treat.

Hearing his name and ‘family’, Suna thought it was his parents and younger sister again, but when he looked up, he saw your beautiful self and shock painted his face before fondness oozed from them. His teammates nudged at him, calling him out for being such a whipped husband now, only for the middle blocker to retort back at all of his single teammates before turning back to the screen again. Man couldn’t take his eyes off of you two.

You looked up from your son to the large screen and saw yourself. Of course, you smiled charmingly and winked into the camera, gaining an even bigger fanbase in the process. You already knew how popular you were as Suna’s lover, so you weren’t one to shy away, despite how crazy the media could get. That was one of many reasons why Suna loved about you.

“There it is, ladies and gentlemen! Suna [y/n] bringing her amazing fan service!” Another commentator joked, being the first one to comment on your very first fan service years ago as well.

Seeing his mother on screen, Rinri burst into giggles and pointed at you. “Momma, it’s you!”

“Yes bumblebee, it’s me,” you nuzzled your nose against your son’s cheeks, and this cute interaction was displayed to the entire arena and everyone cooed. The cameras then zoomed out slightly as one of their on-site reporters approached you. They gave you and your son proper greetings after you introduced your son to the nation. His adorableness easily captured everyone’s heart as he waved hello.

“I see your son is wearing the same jersey as Suna Rintarou! Are you going to say something to cheer for your dad?”

“Dada look, I wuv you!” Rinri said proudly and pointed at his jersey that you secretly bought, and the stadium melted at how cute he was.

“Love you too, buddy!” Suna laughed.

The large screen than switched over to show Suna’s doting smile before showing your face again.

The reporter asked if you have words for your lovely husband, and watched you smiled. “Rin, go out there and show ‘em how amazing my husband is!”

Suna pointed at you from below, his sly grin appeared and shouted loudly. “Watch me, pretty!”

You laughed, wondering when was the last time Suna showed so much energy for a game. Perhaps coming today was the right thing to do on your end.

The game soon commenced, but somehow everyone could already predict the winner. With his family now in the arena to support him, Suna found himself even more focus. Despite being a slow starter, he was able to warm his engine faster than usual today. Rinri kept his gaze on his father the entire time, slowly leaning forward as he got absorbed into the game. You were silently cheering as well, and with every point scored by the team, especially by your husband, you clenched your fist in victory.

The first set was an easy win by the Raijin team, and your son cheered loudly. Suna immediately turned towards where you and his son were at, and for the first time during a match, the middle blocker held out a peace sign with the happiest wide mouth smile on his face.

The nation knew how much Suna Rintarou loved his wife and son, but that smile solidified and cemented that fact. Never once had this man ever showed so much bliss in public, but here he was, showing his soft side when multiple cameras were around.

You felt your heart leaped forward and face heating up. Suna was able to make your heart accelerate with the smallest of gesture since high school however no matter how many years had passed, your love life was still so, for lack of a better word, perfect.

“Go win this,” you mouthed and put out your own peace sign. Rinri mimicked you as gave his dad his own tiny peace sign and giggled. Once again, Komori and the rest snickered, asking if Rin was going to keep staring or was he going to play the next set.

And thus, the score was 3-1 with EJP Raijin emeging victorious. Both team exchanged their pleasantries and a handshake before going over to the crowd to thank them for their support. Suna looked up and saw that you weren’t at your seats, and before long he spotted Rinri running up to him excitedly, showing off his jersey that looked just like Suna’s.

“Why, hello there, buddy,” Suna greeted, swiping Rinri into his arms and lifting him up in the air. You soon waltzed over but you made sure to stay out of the way, knowing the victors deserved the spotlight right now. You apologised to the coach for your son but the man laughed it off, stating that he didn’t mind at all If anything, he should thanked you for this surprise since Suna played even better than his previous games.

“Baby,” Suna called out to you and you saw he had one arm opened for you.

“Congrats on your win,” you went into his arm and gave a hug before turning to his team mates, greeting them, congratulating them as well. A few interviewers came up as the team headed to the side, some even managed to catch you in one interview too. It’s not like either you or Suna minded, and Rinri was comfortable in front of strangers. Of course, none of you were worried about having Rinri be exposed to the media since both of you were ready to protect this family by any means

In the beginning, he did try to keep you out of the media’s sight but after knowing you were more than capable of handling yourself, and knew how to keep yourself safe, and relying on him, Suna was more opened about posting you on his social media. But this was the first time anyone has ever seen his son and a part of him was worried.

Still, he did his best to answer the questions, and he was glad the media was respectful enough towards him to not focus on his family too much. They could tell he was protective about his family just based on his behaviour.

One of the interviewer smiled at Suna, asking him to make one last comment about his family. With a sly grin, he turned to the camera and called for you. It has been three years, and he wanted to do this for so long now. The second you approached, Suna drapped his arm around your shoulder, patting your head. “I think I scored myself the perfect partner.”

Suna then dipped down and whispered into your ears. “Considered me seduced with that top of yours. Can’t wait till I fuck your brains out as my victory award. Better be prepared.”

“...Rin...!” You gasped, face coloured bright red. Rinri looked up at his parents, not understanding anything aside from the fact that his parents were very loving and in turn, that made him happy. The cameramen and reporters chuckled, saying how you two are still lovey dovey and to stay sweet before bidding your cute child good bye.

“Love, munchkin, wait for me. I’m gonna get change and we can go hang,” Suna said as he got pushed to get washed up and change by Washio and Komori.

I think I scored myself the perfect partner — those words echoed, causing you to blow up. Suna is a man of high libido, but it was his sweet words that always got you weak on your knees.

“Momma, are you sicky?” Rinri asked, a little worried about his mother’s face turning red.

“N-No, baby, I’m fine,” you assured, fanning yourself and heading off somewhere to wait for your beloved.

QUIII hello. I hope this lives up to your expectations😌💕I went with meeting the WHOLE family, I hope that's okay!

Haikyuu!! Boys Meeting Your Family

Characters: Washio, Akaashi, Kunimi, Iwaizumi, Hoshiumi, Komori, Numai and Suna

Warnings: Second hand embarrassment (honestly it could've been worse), dads trying (some succeeding, some failing) to be intimidating, use of father/mother, siblings, aunt/uncle, grandparents & cousins.

Washio Tatsuki:

Honestly- you’re like 98% sure you’re family is more scared of him than he is of them LOL

Your dad opens up the door, expecting to scare off the ‘punk’ his daughter dragged home and is instead met with the most intimidating stare he’s ever had to lock eyes with.

You really almost lost your composure as you saw your dad’s eyes widen before he cleared his throat and introduced himself, your boyfriend politely introducing himself and shaking your father’s hand.

You watched as one by one your family members all reacted to your tall, stoic and intimidating boyfriend.

You started to get worried they really would be too intimidated by him to be normal until-

Your little cousin tugged on Washio’s pant leg, and you saw the short flash of panic in his gaze.

Washio wasn’t scared of kids, actually he loved them.

…he just didn’t have the best track record with them liking him.

“...up..” your cousin was only 2, so in his fearless little brain he just sees someone tall and thinks ‘fun’.

Your family watches with mixed reactions, waiting to see how he’d react.

He looked over to you, and when you nodded that it was okay, he bent down and gently picked the child up, cracking a small smile when your cousin giggled.

You’re sure you saw hearts in your aunts eyes- too bad auntie, he’s yours >:)

If that didn’t win him over, then his offer to wash dishes after dinner did them in.

Safe to say, your boyfriend has become a treasured member of the family and if you two break up…they may never forgive you.

Akaashi Keiji:

He is stressed.

What if they don’t like what he wears? What if they think he’s too quiet? What if he tries to talk more to be less quiet but he says stupid things? What if-

“Keiji, baby, you’re spiraling again…aren't you?”

Akaashi is a great guy, you know it, fukurodani knows it, and you know your family is going to love him.

You just wish he could know how great he is too- maybe he wouldn’t be fiddling with his hands and borderline pacing outside of your front door.

He tenses up when your father pats his back and ushers him inside, but he gets himself together enough to properly introduce himself.

You hide your laugh as your dad sneaks an impressed glance your way, “covertly” giving you a thumbs up as he takes him to meet the family.

Back off dad- you saw him first✋🙄

Just as expected, everyone is absolutely enthralled with your boyfriend. He’s smart, handsome, humble AND athletic-

He blows everyone's socks off when he gives intelligent and sensical input during one of the conversations during dinner.

Where did you find this guy- harvard?!

They don’t even try to hide how impressed they are, giving you a wonderful view of the pinkness of Akaashi’s ears and the little throat clear he does before returning to his meal.

You are gonna have to establish your dominance in your family since several people have stated “if you two break up- we’re keeping him, you can go.”

Kunimi Akira:

“Are you ready to meet them?” “Yeah, why wouldn’t I be?”

He seemed cool as a cucumber, like the thought of meeting your whole family didn’t terrify him just a little.

You knew better though, he had been stressing about it since you had asked him.

The initial meetings go over well enough, he gives short answers but doesn't outwardly appear annoyed or smug towards them.

More so he just has on his usual face of complete and total indifference.

One of your relatives says something minorly offensive? Doesn't phase him one bit.

One of your little cousins runs head first into his leg? No reaction.

Your family begins to wonder if he's capable of such feelings at all.

And then you bring up the time you watched kindaichi whack his head on a door frame and it happens-

As bright as day for the whole table to see a smile broke out on his face as he shook his head, muttering a 'that idiot'.

He was a tough nut to crack but you knew that with time, he was gonna fit in just fine.

Now to make sure they don't ever discover how lazy he is…

Iwaizumi Hajime:

Is there a better guy to bring home? You're really not sure there is.

He's respectful, returns your fathers handshake with an equal (if not greater) amount of force, has good conversation with your aunts and grandma, and gets on great with your siblings.

You can tell your dad is trying not to like him- it's obvious with the scowl he has on and the twitch his eyebrow does every time iwaizumi says something he can't refute.

You know it's over when your boyfriend brings up sports- something your father is quite the fan of. It's really over when they find out they like the same team.

Safe to say he manages to win over your entire family within 30 minutes, and when he’s gearing up to leave has like 3 different people inviting him to the next event.

After the meeting you are constantly being bugged about him- when is he coming over next? Is Hajime going to be there? When are you two going to get married?

Actually you’re starting to wonder if they like him more than you…

Scratch that, you know the answer- but admitting it would boost your boyfriend’s ego, so better not.

Hoshiumi Korai:

By law he's a menace to society- now is no different.

It all seems to go well at first; he's surprisingly humble when introducing himself (he only mentioned volleyball like twice), he doesn't say anything super offensive and he seems to be behaving himself.

And then it happens..the inevitable mention of his height- or rather lack thereof.

Your aunt and uncle show up a little late- understandably so since they're kids were still little.

Their oldest child is 7, which means he's old enough to converse but not quite old enough to know that some thoughts should stay just that- a thought.

You really thought this would go over without incident- it had been 30 minutes and he hadn't done anything questionable!

Then your cousin walked right up to him, cocked his head to the side and said those dreadful words-

"Aren't you short for a volleyball player? I thought they had to be tall."

You could've sworn you watched a VEIN pop on his forehead, and before you could react you heard it, the "HUUUHHHH?!?!"

He began his rant- only to have it muffled when you slapped your hand over his mouth, calmly asking your cousin not to mention his…stature.

Komori Motoya:

Is it possible for someone NOT to like him? You weren't sure, and you hoped tonight wouldn't be the night you got proved wrong.

You couldn't tell if he was genuinely excited or trying to cope with his nervousness- but he seemed legitimately happy to be meeting them.

Your fathers intimidation tactics? No effect

The overwhelming amount of interactions from your mom, grandma and aunts? He happily engages in conversation(s).

Jumpy little energetic cousins? Plays with them and becomes their new favorite person.

If someone in your family didn't like him they sure were good at hiding it cause by the end of the night your dad is laughing at his jokes, your mom is cooing over his endearing stories of you, and when he leaves literally everyone is begging you never to break up with him.

If he ever misses a family gathering in the future you are immediately hounded with "where is he?!" Like you're not standing right there smh🙄

Numai Kazuma:

He's a nervous wreck- his words not mine.

"H-hi, sir! I'm Numai Kazuma!" You watched as the hand he stuck out for a handshake shook just a teeny tiny bit.

Your dad nodded, introduced himself and shook your boyfriend's hand- a little harder than necessary might I add.

Your dad clapped him on the back and invited him inside.

You had warned numai before hand that your dad can be…a little too protective. You know he had good intentions- he wants you to be safe and happy!

But he can be a bit much, and now was no exception.

Your dad lead him into the living room where all the men in the family were waiting.

You watched as his face blanched, quickly turning to you for immediate assistance.

Knowing not even you could stop this interrogation from happening, you just shrugged and let him know you'd be right back, quickly exiting to build your "save my boyfriend" squad.

Once your cool aunt, siblings and grandmother had gathered, you all dragged Numai into the kitchen where they all began to absolutely rave about your "handsome strong young man!" Of a boyfriend.

So yeah- after being scared straight by your father, he gains a fanclub that will never stop asking you questions about him.

Suna Rintaro:

I don't know if trainwreck is the right word…but it certainly comes close.

Its not like he did anything bad per se, for the majority of the evening he was being his normal stoic quiet self.

All in all he was behaving himself- or he did for most of the evening anyway.

Although he comes across as the 'super respectful and stand up guy' at his core suna is still a lord of chaos- intent on witnessing the twins' mischief and dedicated to getting anything and everything on film.

So who was he to not laugh when your toddler cousin happened to trip on air and face plant?!

To make it slightly better…he wasn't the only one who laughed, your family just didn't expect your quiet reclusive boyfriend to bust out laughing when your cousin tripped.

By the end of the night at least 90% of your family is ready to adopt him as one; your grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins and your mom/siblings all love him.

Your dad? He's not so sure…

“no, you!”

the two continued to blatantly quarrel even more. though, most likely attributable to the surprising lack of sound they made, nobody else seemed to notice.

“you’re my personal guard,” she argued, attempting to push washio in front of her, much to her failure. regardless, she managed to get an embarrassingly good feel of how toned his shoulder blades were. “you’re supposed to get into danger before i do!”

“so i’m nothing more than cannon fodder for you, your majesty?” WASHIO inquired, unamused expression fitting snugly his facial features. eyebrows knitted together and lips pressed tightly in a frown, he stood his ground, letting a deep sigh spill from his mouth. “don’t waste your breath... you know that you’re supposed to be the one conversing to the suitors your mother set up for you, remember?”

her majesty practically had a vein pop from her forehead.

“fine! clearly, you don’t want me around you!” she dramatically exclaimed, weakly pushing on her knight’s arm and stomping away cartoonishly. somehow, though the spotlight was on her for the evening, that wasn’t enough to make a scene.

the tall man couldn’t help but feel a bead of sweat trickling from the back of his head, before shaking his head at his charge’s change of attitude. didn’t she want to stay behind her mere seconds ago?

he found himself exhaling heavily once more. he probably needed a break, anyways.

washio had always been quite the gentle giant. hailing from a long line of blacksmiths, he’s always been the man who would charm the pastries from elderly women and end up getting a strangely strong pat on the back from their husbands whenever he successfully completed a task for them or for no reason in particular. the man who was always the target of children when they want him to carry them across his hometown, whether that be on his shoulders, his back, his arms, hell, even his legs, he was always happy to provide them a human form of transportation.

oddly enough, this never seemed to be the case when it came to the princess. absolutely bizarre, wasn’t it? one of the most influential people in the kingdom couldn’t seem to get their royal guard of all people to cooperate with her!

well, honestly, it wasn’t as if she even bothered with trying to get along with him. if anything, she was the one who seemed to initiate their petty rivalry in the first place, like almost every interaction with him. the man had always been rather silent, but he seems to have no problem with communicating when it came to the princess.

he found himself wandering toward the table lavishly filled with refreshments and treats. washio recalled her father telling him that like his daughter, this was time for him to get to know his co-workers. he was fairly new to working at the palace after all, and much to his dismay, the only person he had prolonged exposure to was the princess. regardless, he somehow felt weird when thinking of encountering the fellow knights and staff working here. unfamiliar, even.

before washio got the chance to ponder this feeling even further, there was something, perhaps an instinct that tugged inside his stomach, urging him to look behind him, where he left her behind. naturally, he did, only to find her highness talking to a fellow noble, though he couldn’t get a read on the situation.

it wasn’t anything special or extraordinary; for some reason, he felt it was, though not necessarily in a positive light. his stomach started to churn, eyes furrowing together and lips tightening in a frown once more. it was really nothing more than a slight change in expression, yet if anyone were to look at him, they could instantly tell that something was up.

he wasn’t able to stop himself, navigating the crowd encompassing the princess, muttering quiet apologies to the bodies his shoulders brushed against. her majesty was always on her mind, certainly no doubt about that. whatever antics she was even considering, washio always had to be five steps ahead. whether that meant lying awake at night or through his lunch breaks, he was always analyzing her. from her grin that he always knew meant bad news to the way her eyes gleamed, with what was something washio hadn’t figured out.

before long, he found himself in front of the princess and the aristocrat she was speaking to, looking at the sudden intruder in their discussion.

“is there anything you need?” asked an unknown voice, washio immediately concluding that it wasn’t who he was looking for, thus to be ignored. before he could repeat himself, he stepped in front of him, eyes focused on her highness and only her, putting them in a position way too close for a guard and a member of royalty to be in.

he cleared his throat, assessing his current circumstances. it was obvious he wasn’t a member of the nobility. it was normal in the castle, but her being seen interacting with him outside of his duties could be seen as scandalous.

as, in the words of many of the princess’s acquaintances, a “lowly commoner” such as himself, he never quite understood the manners of elite society. granted, he wasn’t even sure what to do with his conflicting emotions battling it out in his heart. regardless, it didn’t stop his mouth from moving on its own accord, asking—

Honestly you do know who the teams ace is right Yn?

You wouldn’t be trying to steal Bokuto’s thunder now would you be 👀

I mean, even if you were, you’ve earned the right YN

You are the teams precious baby manager 🥹

Literally the teams pride and joy

You are a second year just like Akaashi and boy are you loved

Literally these boys and girls do anything and everything to protect their precious YN

Konoha has said several times that no one is good enough to breath the air of THEIR YN

Now you never really paid much mind to these idiots

Because, well you were busy with other things

Bokuto…. Always Bokuto 🙄

Anyways what I’m getting at is that you deserve so much YN

You see, summer break is coming up and while the boys are busy practicing, you are busy doing other things 👀

Nevertheless, you manage to escape and head on your two week vacay

Bokuto texts you the entire time telling you how he misses you

Akaashi takes Bokutos phone and apologizes to you profusely for bothering you 📱

However while you are away, some things change 👀

“Wait is that-?” Konoha says, studying you

“Holy crap, YN???” Saru yells as you turn your head and smile at the team

“YN?? Is that really you??” Komi questions, slowly approaching you like you might not be real

“Umm yes, I think so???” You say confused

“Oh yeah, I guess I’ve changed a little but it’s only been two weeks guys,” you say, confused and secretly planning your escape to look the mirror

But unfortunately, she didn’t get to finish because a certain someone interrupted

You see, a very important person was missing from the newly revealed YN

“HEY HEY HEY everybody! YN comes back today!!!” Bokuto screeches as he throws open the doors to the gym

Everyone just waits in silence because they all wanna see his reaction

“Hey Bo! I missed you!” You sing as Bokuto stops, studying you from head to toe

“Everyone knows that,” he says as you stand there, again rolling your eyes

“You’re better than Ushiwaka because you beat Tsukki like a million times in 2 on 2,” you say as Akaashi smirks

“HOLY CRAP YN??” he screams as you turn and smile

“That’s what made you realize it was Yn?” Konoha asks

“Yn you look so good!! Wait- why did you change?? YN did you get a partner??” Bokuto says, deflation eminent

Akaashi 👉🏻👀 YN choose your words carefully please I BEG

“Bo, no! I just needed a little a change. I’ll admit I didn’t think I changed that much but I guess I did!” You say, beaming as the entire team swoons over you

Literally they didn’t think you could get any cuter 🥰

However what Fukurodani fails to realize is that your glow up would affect more than just them…

You see, with the training camp coming up at Shinzen, a whole new problem arises

And you see, these dummies don’t realize how much your glow up will affect literally every other team at the camp

It actually doesnt register until they arrive at camp and get off the bus

And it actually hits Konoha first

He’s helping you unload the bus all while the other teams stand around, staring at you

“Akaashi! AKAASHI!” he whisper yells as Akaashi turns to look at him

“Look!” He says pointing to the gaggling bunch of guys staring at their amazing manager

Please Akaashi knows you can handle yourself but he is still so protective of you

I mean, you are literally a key to Bokuto’s success and those an irreplaceable member of the Fukurodani team

You continue to unload the bus, oblivious to the men now fuming behind you

Akashi and Konoha are GLARING at the guys staring at you

Tanaka and Noya have nothing on these two petty bbys

When you finally turn around, you sense the tension

“Hey what’s going on?” You say as Komi quickly pulls you away stating he needs help with some ridiculous task

“Wow YN really… changed?” Kuroo says smirking

“Stay away from YN, Kuroo…” Akashi growls as Konoha backs him up

Kuroo throws his hands up, smirking as he walks away 😏

As the camp progresses, you notice a lot of the boys being extremely nice and helpful

“Hey Yn let me carry that for you!” Tanaka says as you smile

“Oh thank you! You are such a sweetheart!” You say as Tanaka gushes 😍

Meanwhile, Washio is standing behind you, glaring at the bald spiker

Please these guys are all so protective of their bby yn 🥺

But it doesn’t stop there

“Watch out Yn!” Someone screams as you turn to see a ball flying at your head

You duck before the ball is immediately snatched up by Ogano, Shinzen’s captain

“Oh Ogano, thank you!” You say as he smiles at you, extending his hand to you

“You ok YN?” He asks as he pulls you up, hand lingering in yours

Akaashi, Komi and Saru instantly see you but their eyes don’t go to you oh no no no

rather to a certain owl haired boy 👀

Bokuto is watching your interaction with Ogano, confused as to why the other captain is so attentive to you

Bokuto has noticed the other teams paying extra attention to you as well

At first, he thought it was because you were so helpful but that couldn’t be it because the other managers were just as helpful

By then he notices how Ogano’s hand lingers longer in yours 😳

Akaashi, Komi and Saru rn 👉🏻👀🍿

But before anything can happen, you simply thank Ogano and walk away

Bokuto shook his head, a little confused but still thinking about your interaction with the other captain as well as the looks given by the other teams

“YN come practice with me!” Bokuto cries as you roll your eyes

“Bo, I need to help everyone else!” You say

“Actually taking Bokuto would be a big help YN,” Konoha says

“See YN- hey wait a minute?!?” Bokuto glares are Konoha

“Hey wait up!” Kuroo said, following you

You turn, seeing the giant captain running towards you as you beam at him

“Kuroo would you like to join us?” You say as Kuroo smirks

“Of course, I would never turn down the company of someone so pretty,” he says winking at you

You blush profusely as Bokuto glares at Kuroo

“Come on Yn! I’ll help you,” he says as he pulls you two towards the 3rd gym

Leaving Bokuto to GLARE daggers into Kuroo

During your practice, Tsukishima joins again, causing Bokuto even more grief

“Akaashi, have you noticed everyone staring at YN?” He finally asks

Akaashi knew this was coming but he’s cautious about how he answers it

“I mean, Bokuto haven’t you noticed?” Akaashi asks

Bokuto 👉🏻:D noticed what???

“Oh for gods sakes Bokuto, YN got like super hot!” Kuroo shouts, finally putting it out into the world for all the hear

Akaashi 👉🏻😐🤦🏻‍♂️

Bokuto looks from you to Kuroo and back again

Then the lightbulb finally goes on

“OH MY GOD EVERYONE HAS BEEN HITTING ON YN!?!” he screams

“I mean do you really blame us Bokuto?” Kuroo asks

“WELL NO BUT STOP IT!” He shouts

“You want us to stop being nice to Yn? Sounds kind of mean Bokuto,” Kuroo says with a smirk

“THATS NOT WHAT I MEANT! AAAAKKKKAAAASSSHHHHHIIIIIII!” Bokuto screams as you sigh

“YN do me a favor please?” Akaashi asks before going to tame the untamable

“Sure Akaashi,” you respond sweetly

“Don’t have a glow up again until Bokuto graduates,” he says as you just nod
