Concept video for my up-coming Buck x Bucky Sorcerers vs Fae AU
- Buck ends up being found and captured by the Sorcerer's Guild after being separated from Bucky. Brought back to be tortured for information on his fellow Fae in front of the entire Guild, Bucky has to helplessly watch, less he give away the (incredibly illegal and damning) love the two share and have developed while on the run as he has tried to help Gale cross the country to safety from the Guild he is still expected to be a part of.
DISCLAIMER - these particular concepts may not make it into the final au, but it's fun to world build with stuff :)
This took way too long because my laptop is a POS that needs replacing so nothing runs properly on it, but I tried. Sorry the editing isn't as good as it should be, again, I wanna throw my laptop across the room because the lag is UNREAL WHILE TRYING TO EDIT FML it would have been easier to edit on a rock in my backyard

Could you explain the sorcerers a bit more to me? I'm not familiar with DnD. Do they draw power from the creatures that patron? Or are you a witch until you find a patron? And that's an official thing to do right? So are there a lot of witches that could be sorcerers but they don't have the resources?
Hmm…….kind of??
Basically what warlocks and clerics in D&D have in common is that they get their power from a relationship they have with an external force - a god in the case of a cleric, and a demon/devil/fae/eldritch abomination for warlocks. Their powers are contingent on the magic user fulfilling their end of the bargain, basically - clerics have an oath and warlocks have a pact/contract, and failure to adhere can result in the god/patron punishing the user by nerfing some of their power or even breaking the connection entirely
My concept for how I’m structuring the magic system for this rewrite really relies on being able to juxtapose fairy vs witch, which left the wizards as a weird third thing that I don’t really think canon has a guiding principal for the category other than ‘any of the men ones who do magic are wizards’ which I kind of find annoying and doesn’t work because I am making fairy/witch status gender agnostic.
((I accidentally wrote too much oop))
This gets into the whole theory of how magic has to work in this world, which is still getting worked out, but basically every living person in the magical universe has a potential to do, at least a tiny bit of magic - because everyone has a spark of the great dragon that gave them the gift of life. However that’s not really enough to do much - a normal persons life force will normally never give them energy to do more than really minor little charms, and even that would take a lot of time and dedication as well as just natural talent. But basically most people’s energy is used up just making them an alive person with a soul so externalizing it is really hard. That’s normal, and people like that, even with minor magics aren’t really considered anything.
Fairies are people born with an unusually exceptional store of magic. They naturally generate more energy, to the point that they not only Can they do noticeable magic, but they Must - a fairy that doesn’t learn to use their magic is at risk to start using it accidentally, and catastrophically. They literally have too much juice and need to let it off. Wings are a physical manifestation of their magic and the signs they will develop wings are visible from birth, so future-fairies are easily identifiable
Witches, basically, have the normal human amount of magic (ie not much) but draw energy from their surroundings. In extremes, witches can drain the energy from plants, animals, other people - which is part of the reason they’re often reviled. But a lot of the time that’s not the case - however society fears them on that principal. They ‘take what isn’t theirs’ because they weren’t born fortunate enough to be a fairy, is basically how a lot of people see it. Witches have been around forever so of course there are traditions and spells and rituals to get more energy passed down in areas where there are enough witches to do so, but also, plenty of young witches start instinctively feeding off their environment completely accidentally, which kind of draws into question if people are ‘born witches’

You’re right in that sorcerers and patrons imply status and resources - you could definitely have a witch who wants to become a sorcerer, but in this world its likely if you were doing enough magic to be considered a witch already, most Sorcerer Orders probably wouldn’t take you? And a lot of witches wouldn’t be interested in what sorcerers have going on, because I imagine their rites are like, a religious order. You are basically dedicating your life to the order, and making an oath that will permanently bind you to your Source, and if you betray your Oath the order can sever you and leave you without any power anyway.
Basically in a world what’s classified Fairies as people who are Supposed to Have Power and Witches as people who are Not Supposed to have power but Take it anyway probably for nefarious selfish evil reasons, Sorcerers Orders were created as a way to have a system to be able to get more people with magic who were a part of and controlled by the social order (rather than Suspicious and Outside the social order)

My own interpretation of Harengons
Long text post ahead.
Alright so this is my interpretation of Harengons as a D&D species in a whole. This will include different types of habbits and homebrew things but I'll try to stay close as possible to what have been given to us by WOTC. The main sections here will be Origins and Culture. If you want to create a harengon and use any of theses ideas you are free to use them!
To start things off lets start with
𝓞𝓻𝓲𝓰𝓲𝓷𝓼
What's included:
Where they originate from
Different kingdoms in the feywild
Why they aren't Fey
Where they originate from
In the description of the Harengon species it says that they originated from the Feywild and migrated into material planes. You can rule this as they are from the material plane with ancestors from the feywild. It mainly relies on how you want to play your characters
Different kingdoms in the feywild
So this entirely depends on the DM's ruling of the feywild. Some DM's have it be unseelie vs seelie courts while others have it in multiple kingdoms. These personally are the kingdoms that I like to run.
Bear - A fey tribe that resides deep in caves or forests that aren't in total darkness. Can enter this kingdom through a broken archway.
Hunt - A nomadic fey tribe that moves around the feywild constantly. The way to enter this kingdom is just by stumbling upon them.
Moonlit - A fey kingdom that resides in the twilight areas of the feywild where the moon is always shining down in some way. Can only be accessed through a mushroom circle.
Night - A fey kingdom that resides in the darkness of dense forests or deep caves. Can only be accessed through a faerie portal.
River - A fey kingdom that can only be accessed through stepping through a river. Surrounded by a forest.
Snow - A fey kingdom that can only be accessed through going through a portal in the snowy mountains.
So why aren't harengons fey?
How I like to rule this is that Harengons are known to hop around from world to world. Due to many ancestors doing that, the Harengon race lost traces of their fey ancestry to time.
𝓒𝓾𝓵𝓽𝓾𝓻𝓮
What's Included:
Courtship rituals and Marriage
Shows of affection
Standings in kingdoms
Courtship rituals and Marriage
So how I picture courtship is that when a harengon likes another harengon or race, they start a courtship ritual. Depending on how you flavor your harengon it can be through various means. The most common will be:
Singing
Acts of strength
Dances
Charms
If the other member that the harengon is trying to court accepts then they get together. Once together they can decide if they want to stay together for marriage or break off but it has to be before they decide they want to be married.
Harengons often decide not to wear rings around their fingers (they can if you want) and often times try not have them at all. During their marriage ceremony they can have one or more of the following:
Rings
Hand tying
Flower Crowns (keep the dehydrated flower petals afterwards)
Brooches
Gems
Most of these are to be able to wear or carry themselves at all times.
Shows of affection
How harengons show affection is my head butting, nuzzling, or rubbing their head against one another. Since they are unable to do a tradition kiss they often boop noses to one another. Depending on the type of hare they are, they can be extremely lovely dovey or very stone cold.
Standings in kingdoms
Harengons have multiple standings in kingdoms. They can be nobility to peasants but it relies on their social status. Most of them, if they are able to, becomes spell casters for their kingdoms. I will use two of my own Harengon OC's as an example:
Zevan Tegak (originally Zevan Tezdo)- Twilight cleric from the river kingdom. Comes from a noble family who serves under the river fae's rule. Gained his magical abilities after following church of celestian. Was supposed to be forced to help the river fae's rule but ran away before that could happen.
Reyna Tegak - Abberant Mind Sorcerer from the river kingdom. Comes from a commoner family. Gained her magical abilities from an old, aberrant creature. Was not required to help the river fae so left with Zevan.
Harengons can easily move up and down the caste depending on how helpful they were to the kingdom.
𝓔𝓷𝓭𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓼
Obviously play how you want to play in D&D. These are just some ideas I've had and will probably update more when I come up with more ideas.

I was watching Tangled the other day and started imagining it as a D&D game so now I shall subject you to my thoughts.
Mother Gothel
Obviously the BBEG. Big hag energy. Literally stole a child like some sort of fae, if the fae tossed you into a burlap sack instead of luring you with whimsy and fun.
I never watched the series so idk the incantations lore, but I always assumed that Gothel came up with the song to make the flower heal, so she must be proficient in arcana or something. It’s not as if the flower was playing it like a boom box all these years before it got found. Scheming ancient witch, borderline lich but not quite.
Rapunzel
My girl is a sorcerer through and through. Sorcerous origin is literally in the first 60 seconds of the movie.
Infused with the power of the sun in her mother’s womb, granting her healing magic. Absolutely cast Mass Suggestion using her crazy high charisma back at the snuggly duckling to get the ruffians to stop beating up Flynn, followed by a persuasion check. The hair is just a reskinned thorn whip/entangle/light/etc. flavors all her spells to be hair related somehow. Ridiculous fantasy name generator sounding name. Her pet Pascal gives her advantage on animal handling checks with other creatures.
Flynn Ryder
He said it himself, he is a Swashbuckler Rogue. Tragic backstory of being a sad little orphan street urchin. But likely has a few levels in bard the way he is constantly trying to rizz his way out of problems.
The smolder is literally “I roll to seduce” but generally you can’t make persuasion rolls against player characters so it doesn’t work on Rapunzel unless he actually RPs with her. Camp fire heart to heart where you learn his secret real name. Has a cursed ring of disguise which only changes his nose. Sick sleight of hand with that satchel pick-pocket.
Maximus
This horse is sentient, which gives us two options. Either somebody cast Awaken on a horse, or he’s a city Druid that got trapped in wild shape.
I say city Druid because of Maximus’s unique ability to understand architecture and physics in man made structures, but relative confusion in the wilderness (eg. Falling off a cliff when the tree broke, vs taking out a dam support pillar to bridge a gap). Imagining a player having to mime horse behavior because horses can’t talk (despite Maximus understanding people) is hilarious to me and explains a lot. Snuggly duckling scene where he finds the secret door. You KNOW max was the one who came up with the jail break plan, not the ruffians lmao.
The Stabbington Brothers
I’m tempted to say barbarians because of their size, scars, and general anger (one is loud rage, and the other is a silent rage). But they seem a bit more skilled than that, having so many swords and daggers, so I wanna say maybe multi-classed fighters.
Recruited by the BBEG after being betrayed by the party rogue. One shot with a Shillelagh by the BBEG once they stopped being useful, which shows how powerful the BBEG really is.
Campaign highlights
The sorcerer got a nat20 on the rogue with an improvised weapon(frying pan) and knocked him unconscious on first meeting.
The rogue later rolled 3 consecutive nat20s with the frying pan when confronted by guards at the dam. This was when the DM realized that maybe their homebrew rules for the frying pan were poorly thought out.
The city Druid/horse realized they chose no combat spells, so asked if they could wield a sword in their mouth. Nat20 to disarm the rogue of the Magical TKO Frying pan.
Sorcerer came in clutch by casting light when they were trapped in the flooding cave.
Rogue sacrificed himself at the end of the campaign to save the sorcerer from being taken away by the BBEG forever. He totally forgot that the Druid was waiting at the base of the tower to horse kick Gothel in the head.

A collection of people from a fancy magic party for wizards, sorcerers and mages. I've included the small body sketches I sometimes do to give idea of clothing, body shape, or scale.
On top row left there is Ik-Kramonlan, Ike to friends, a master in sigil works, famous for inventing a shorthand method for certain style of markings.
Top right is Seth Everlow, she's considered the best human sorcerer in all magic related to body-work and shapeshifting. She's currently over 600 years old and counting.
Seth and Ike are Ostro's old friends, he has studied under Seth long ago.
Middle row, on left is Vaermynn enna Nagartea, it was actually his older colleague who was invited to the party, but considered it a waste of time, so Vaermynn attended instead, curious to see other kinds of magic peeps.
Middle right is Sorja Ostonthaag, an elementalist and a performer, did a 'fire vs ice' show in the party.
Bottom left is Seres Nadyen, a demonologist. Had her demon familiar with her at the party, who Marion chatted with a bit. Apparently Seres was in search for a new student, as her previous one- well, it was unfortunate.
Last on the right is Roaralimken, a famous poet mage, though being a fae, it is debated among the mortal wizards if they can be counted as a mage, but Roara's theatrical usage of magic with their performances has made them quite renown nevertheless.

Crescent City Worldbuilding Questions
The Four Houses:
The four houses of Midgard are the House of Sky and Breath, the House of Many Waters, the House of Earth and Blood, and the House of Flame and Shadow. The members of these houses are based on species, and each has a corresponding god (or gods).
I think this element of the series should’ve been expanded on or scrapped entirely. As it stands now, the houses have no major effect on the world or the characters besides being a fun sorting gimmick. Furthermore, characters like Jesiba Roga can switch alignments with no serious consequences.
The house system also raises many questions. Are the gods of Crescent City real or did the Asteri fabricate them? If they are real, why are they not doing anything about the Asteri? Have they been captured or killed? Do they just not care? If it's a religious thing, why were the houses decreed by the Imperial Senate?
In Chapter 57, we learn that HOEAB priestesses offered Ember and Randall asylum and protection when Bryce was a baby. Why doesn’t the HOEAB intervene more to improve the treatment of humans? If the Asteri want to wipe out the humans, why would they assign them a house? They created the four houses, and it’s not like they haven’t removed a race from their house before (ex. sprites).
What does it mean to be loyal to your house? Is it the same as being loyal to your ruler (ex. the Ocean Queen) or your god? Is it being loyal to your fantasy race and the other creatures grouped with it?
Humans share the blessing of Cthona with shifters, fauns, witches, and otters in the HOEAB. Is there less animosity between these groups because they share a house/goddess? Do the other Vanir look down on the ones in HOEAB for being grouped with the humans? What does it mean to have a god’s blessing or be their vessel? Are there any special perks or powers? Do creatures aligned with a certain god have a better chance of speaking with them or getting their prayers answered?
Witches vs. Sorcerers and Other Confusion:
It’s stated that Jesiba Roga was a witch and a member of HOEAB before she became a sorceress. What’s the difference between a witch and a sorceress? Is a sorceress just a witch that has defected? Do witches and sorceresses have a difference in strength or magical abilities?
Speaking of magical abilities, what are the limits of magic in Crescent City? Does it have limits? How about risks?
Where do witches originate from? Why are they in HOEAB? Did they cross with the Asteri and the rest of the Vanir? Are they a mix of humans and Vanir? Are witches the same as they were in Throne of Glass lore?
This is a bit of a nitpick, but Hypaxia is described as being half-necromancer on her father’s side. In this world, are necromancers their own distinct race, like witches, or is the ability to raise the dead just genetic?
Vanir Appearances:
This is a point that I’ve seen brought up by others, but I’d like to take a stab at it myself.
Why do most of the Vanir—even the Asteri—take on human appearances? Was it a disguise to ingratiate themselves with the humans before colonizing Midgard and it just stuck? Did Vanir try to look like humans because they thought it was cool, making it a fashion trend? Or, do Vanir have human-like characteristics because they share a similar origin?
Why does Rigelus, an Asteri, use the body of a lanky Fae teen? Why can’t they use their true forms? Would it be too powerful, thus killing whoever sees it? Are they arrogant, believing their underlings don’t deserve to see it? Have the gods placed restrictions on Asteri appearing on Midgard in an attempt to mitigate their damage? Also, do Asteri hosts need to meet certain criteria, or can anyone do it? If it could be anyone, why choose a body that strains to contain your power?

13 Rules for Surviving Food Apps (RulesHorror)
So I've told you about the dangers in many types of restaurants and retail, so you've come to the conclusion (possibly over an ice cream cone), that way to go is to order in via a restaurant's app or a delivery service that dashes to doors or is a hub for grub or promises to be without seams (although for most foods, one hopes not to find seams in any case).
Much like online shopping has its perils just as IRL does, however, ordering food online is not without...unappetizing possibilities. Most of these apps prompt you to tip, conversely, I'm here to offer the following tips:
Typically, a food app will have a range that they deliver in. If you're in a city or suburbia, this is good news, less so in a rural area. Some of these apps let you get food delivered out of range for an extra fee - just make sure you're in the range of beings the restaurant caters to.
If you live on the border of zip codes, there might be some minor issues delivering to your address. If you live (or "live") on the border between worlds, expect major issues.
If you're the deliverer of sustenance: if the being who ordered tacos at the witching hour tips well but something seems off about their home, take the tip and don't tip off local hunters of such beings. You don't want to be their next meal.
If you're the (ultimate) acquirer of sustenance, all the usual rules about tipping decently apply - much as I've previously discussed fae types being attracted to diners and sorcerer types being into coffee shops, shapeshifters seem to find something joyous in shifting their location and the type of food they're delivering. Do you really want to be dealing with an undertipped werewolf?
It is perfectly normal for menu items and even restaurant availability to fluctuate. It is not, however, perfectly normal to suddenly have an overflow of off-brand restaurants (MickDanold's, CookOn, DarvoQueen, etc.)
Beware any menu items listed in quotation marks. If it's in quotation marks, I would urge you to read the ingredients if you must order it at all.
Related to #4: it's truly best not to ask who or what would be willing to dash or avoid seams at 2:12 a.m. for a measly $12.50.
Most apps will let you track a driver's progress. If the app begins to show them traversing different dimensions, I beg of you, cancel the order.
It's pretty par for the course for delivery apps to cost more than if you bought the food in person. Just read the fine print in the terms and conditions to ensure that's the only additional cost.
Bear in mind what is the responsibility of the restaurant vs the deliverer vs the app. If the fries didn't have enough salt, that's not on the entity who brought it to your hovel. Don't hold the deliverer responsible for the behavior of the restaurant - they might decide to hold you responsible for something in return.
Use the rating system honestly, but with the kindness and patience you might hope that, um, beings, may rate you with when they have the power over your income (or worse).
If you find you consistently cannot order garlic in a particular area, or food is never salted, that might be a hint about the sort of orders your local Entities might be avoiding.
Contact-free drop-off is good for other reasons, but I would also encourage it as a way to avoid the implication of an invitation. Garlic-avoiders can be the least of your worries when it comes to Beings that require an invite inside.

FERAL MUMBO MY BELOVED. MY ANGEL. MWAHHHHHHHHH. Shattering glass in his hand because Blondie fed on Scar, not caring about the GLASS in his HAND because BLONDIE fed on SCAR AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH god him caring more about protecting than vengenace is S U C H a good use of that trope though, what a genius way to snap him out of it oh my GOD. I loves him. My precious.
Also though you are doing some absolutely genius things with your magic system and they are absolutely SENDING me. I have an english degree so as you can guess, picking this stuff apart in your askbox is my JAM. The dichotomy of vampire and scar's magic [since its not quite fae or sorcerer] where vampires seem to use their magic much still, and gain magic through a 'still' action [drinking blood], and Scar has to move in order to cast which - So I've read through everything twice and going back and reading the chapter where Scar is casting illusions of Boatem for Grian to understand the history and looking at how he sways and moves through the very illusions he's casting like a gentle breeze, compared to the SPINNING and SLAMMING of him casting magic while he fights for his life is EVERYTHING to me.
Giving Grian the main POV of the story is also genius, because [well, given the 'not a watchr yet' tag, as of right now - ] it means the POV character is learning the magic as we go along, but Mumbo and Scar ALSO have to learn EACH OTHERs magic and livelihood, which means we STILL get that in other POVs. It's such a smart way to handle your worldbuilding and I'm actually doing something similar in a novel I'm writing rn [wherein the MC is a museum director being drug along on a quest by an Immortal, All Powerful Wizard] so I'm sitting here just taking notes about how you handle all the worldbuilding without infodumping it on us because I've never written fantasy before so im like 👀👀
Also I know she's NOT Pearl since you don't wanna make any of the lifers or hermits the bad guys, understandable, but I can really feeling the Pearl-in-Double-Life vibes being channeled through Blondie and what a genius way to handle that as well - Having an OC in a story that FEELS like another character makes it a lot easier to accept that they're there in the fanfiction and helps to avoid any self insert vibes. It's genius. She's scary but also. I love her. In a villian way.
Mumbo might be going feral but the safety and needs of his Coven friends is the most important thing and even Seeing Red he knows this <3 I just knew that I want Mumbo to be capable of going Feral(TM) but even if/when he does he still has enough sense to prioritize <3 ALSO because this chapter kind'a establishes that Mumbo has that Lord feel that he said you would "know when you [saw]" so it was important for me to draw a clear and stark line between Mumbo and the "bad Lords" (the ones who act like masters over servants rather than protectors of a family/pack) so <3
AAAA THANK YOU I love exploring magic systems and making them as unique as possible <3 Ooo that is delightful, I love seeing your analyses <3 YES YES YES YOU NOTICED Elves are always in motion when using magic (not just Scar, but Scar is the only Elf who uses a staff and unlike Sorcerers who require a staff to focus and direct magic he also needs to move his staff to properly channel his magic and just gjfdjds) and Vampires don't need to move at all (and in fact their most typical magic, which is magic absorption/Turning, requires being STILL to safely perform <3) I am so happy someone picked up on that hhfgdhjgfdjhshj YESSS it's a very gentle vs rough movement which gives the magic its different oomphs and I greatly enjoy the imagery of "graceful dance with the wind" and "dangerous dance in a hurricane" jhfgdskj, some parts you can definitely see him leaning more on Fae magic or Sorcery (spinning/twirling his staff and creating an ethereal wind and weaving spells on the spot and gentle movements vs heavy use of pre-set glyphs activated with a wave of his staff and charging the staff with raw magic but no actual spell etc etc) and one is much more suited for fighting than the other so <3
(thank you for remembering that tag because it's gonna get important again soon <3) I love love LOVE limited POVs bc it means I get to choose the character who knows the LEAST about a particular situation <3 Yessss originally the Midnight Series was written completely from Grian's POV, and the biggest reason I decided to split it up like this is because so much of the story gets lost BECAUSE Scar and Mumbo have to learn about each other hjfdskj and it's super important for me (as a poly person) that Mumbo and Scar develop a relationship both WITH Grian and WITHOUT Grian <3 Oooo I love that, that sounds so cool 👀👀 Fantasy is so much fun to write, fantasy and sci-fi are probably my favorite genres because what's sci-fi if not just technofantasy <3 I wish you luck, I believe in you!! And when it's published one day I will find it and be like <3 Anon <3
HAHA YES I really liked Unhinged Pearl but Pearl cannot be a villain in this series for multiple reasons I cannot explain cuz of Spoilers(TM) so I decided to channel her unhinged energy into this OC, it's fun and familiar but not a copy-paste so <3 Especially since she ended up being such a huge character in the story, turning out to be a bit of a main antagonist at this point jhfdsjk so yeah haha I love her and she's an irredeemable POS <3 I am so wary about using OCs but my wariness about OCs was less than my Not Wanting to Make Canon Characters Villains, I'd much rather let them be townsfolk and other magical creatures that befriend the main cast somewhere in the background than make them a character that the narrative is setting up to die <3 Haha-
Thank you so much this was wonderful to wake up to <3 <3 And now I'm back to writing <3

𓆩⟡𓆪 hey lil ghosties! 𓆩⟡𓆪
as promised we're here to give you the breakdown on the available species for play on little ghosts! since this is a hotel that caters exclusively to the supernatural world, you'll notice that there are no humans listed. but we think you'll find that you won't miss them much!
𓆩⟡𓆪 the species of little ghosts 𓆩⟡𓆪
𓆩⟡𓆪 human vs fantastical origins 𓆩⟡𓆪
species on little ghosts can be broken down into two categories, human and fantastical. species whose origin are human are closely related to humans as they were turned from being human into something else or were human and gained magical powers. species with a fantastical origin aren't human in the slightest despite what their looks might tell you.
𓆩⟡𓆪 vampires 𓆩⟡𓆪
origins: human lifespan: immortal but can be killed abilities: turn into a bat, hypnotize other non-vampire human origin species overview: vampires can turn humans into vampires by biting them and making them drink their own blood to complete the transformation. they cannot go out in the sun, as this will burn them. their appearance is pale, with fangs and do not age beyond how old they were when they were turned.
𓆩⟡𓆪 werewolves 𓆩⟡𓆪
origins: fantastica; lifespan: about 130 years abilities: shift into a wolf during the full moon, heightened speed and agility overview: the history of how werewolves are made is a long and slightly complicated one. the earliest werewolves were made when a human would sleep on a particular wednesday or friday with the full moon shining on them, during the summer months. many years and generations later, with packs formed, a few particular werewolves angered a fae, who cursed them that when they bit a human that person would turn into a werewolf. this caused a boom in werewolf numbers as werewolves who attacked humans in their wolf form were turning more and more people. problems arose and this went against the nature of the werewolves. the fae interfered yet again, this time calming their nature and ensuring new wolves could only be made through reproduction. from that point on, werewolves could only be born. all modern werewolves would have been born. werewolves' weakness is silver objects, which can kill or greatly injure the werewolf.
𓆩⟡𓆪 shifters 𓆩⟡𓆪
origins: human lifespan: average human lifespan abilities: shift into one particular non-wolf animal at will. senses are heightened to match that of their animal. overview: a magical object, usually composed of some element of the animal they shift into, can be used to harness the power, unique to the person who is shifting into animal form. the power to shift can be bestowed upon the person from a magical being. some work must be put into the first transformation, which is quite painful. but it gets easier the more the shifter practices. staying in animal form for an extended period of time can have consequences and make it harder for the shifter to turn back into human form.
𓆩⟡𓆪 sorcerers 𓆩⟡𓆪
origins: human lifespan: innate magical spellcasting that draws on their energy abilities: average human lifespan overview: Sorcerers gain their magic powers through innate origins. The powers may manifest from childhood, starting with small bits of magic. it's important for a sorcerer to seek out an apprentice to safely learn how to hone their magical abilities. their magic draws on their own energy. the more magic a spell requires, the more energy a sorcerer expends. because of this, it's important for a sorcerer to learn their limits. it's not uncommon for a sorcerer to bite off more than they can chew as they pursue their magical goals and wind up sleeping for 24+ hours as their body tries to recover. after their apprenticeship, Sorcerers tend to work alone, expanding their own knowledge but like to travel the world. They tend to choose a specific magical route to follow. in most cases, it's magic that the sorcerer has a natural affinity for. in some cases, a sorcerer may choose to pursue a line of magic that doesn't come naturally to them, but aligns with a particular goal.
𓆩⟡𓆪 wizards 𓆩⟡𓆪
origins: human lifespan: an extended human lifespan of up to 150 years. abilities: spellcasting learned from the magical study of grimoires or experimentation with spell components to create a new spell overview: Wizards gain their magic powers through studying the art of magic. There are schools of magic around the world where a witch/wizard can learn to hone their abilities, though they are far and few in-between. A magical wand or other spell focus is used to perform spells. unlike a sorcerer, their magic is not derived from their own energy reserves. a witch or wizard utilizes spell components which can range from the common (incense) to the rare (a basilisk fang) to the expensive (diamonds). the more powerful the spell the more expensive the components.
𓆩⟡𓆪 archfey 𓆩⟡𓆪
Origins: fantastical Lifespan: centuries. Time works differently in the fae realm and honestly most lose count of the years after a certain point. Most archfey reach physical maturity around 75 years of age, but are considered an ‘adult’ at their first century of life when they swear allegiance to a court. Abilities: dependent on the court they’re aligned with. The higher up an archfey is in the line of succession the more powerful their abilities manifest. Regardless of court allegiances, all fae have the ability to utilize glamor in order to change their appearances.   spring: manipulation of wind/air, flight, telekinesis Summer: manipulation of heat, lightning and thunderstorms Autumn: manipulation of plants and earth, teleportation Winter: manipulation of ice and snow, darkness, telepathy Overview: most of the magic in the world can, in some way or another, be traced back to the archfey. They are the original users of magic, and have spent centuries curating it, even to the extent of creating new species. Their moods can be as tumultuous as the stormy seas. If you’re of use to them, they can be your best friend. If you cross them, you’ll never regret anything more. The archfey are at the top of all fae society. Within their own self importance, there are further levels of archfey still. Their appearances take on a general etherealness. Hair and eye colors can span the full spectrum of color. Their ears tend to be elongated to an extreme point of exaggeration. It can be hard to know what an archfey’s true form is though, when they can employ the use of glamor at will.
𓆩⟡𓆪 elves 𓆩⟡𓆪
Origins: fantastical Lifespan: 275-300 years. An elf is considered an adult at 70 years of age.  Abilities:  empathy: they can pick up on the emotions of other and influence them as well  keen mind: they’re very intelligent studious beings that find it easy to learn new skills. Overview: elves are the first race created by the fae. They were created to be the perfect companions to entertain and care for the fae in their long life spans. They were made in the image of the archfey: humanoids with long ears, and ethereal features. While their initial purpose was to serve, in the centuries since their inception, the purpose of the elves has changed. You’ll still find that some elves will take up positions working for the archfey, but most are content to follow their own educational pursuits.
𓆩⟡𓆪 mermaids 𓆩⟡𓆪
Origins: fantastical Lifespan: 80s - 90s Abilities: water manipulation, breath underwater, the ability to change their tale for a pair of legs Overview: mermaids can be found in the waters across all four courts. Their colorings vary depending on the areas that they’re found in. you can find bright vibrant colors on the mermaids of the summer courts. Their fins are similar to that of the tropical fish found in the human world. In contrast, the mermaids of the winter court are darker and more muted. There are various theories as to how mermaids got their abilities to walk on land. Some say that a mermaid was stuck on land and the sun of the fae realm dried out the magic of their tail leaving them with a pair of legs. Others say a fae fell in love with a mermaid and gave them the abilities to walk on land. Regardless of the actual origins of this ability, once a mermaid’s legs touch as little as a single drop of water, their tale returns to them. It’s not exactly fatal, but it can definitely be inconvenient.
𓆩⟡𓆪 dryads 𓆩⟡𓆪
Origins: fantastical Lifespan: early 100s if they’re living close with nature, early 70s if they’re living somewhere more urban and have a disconnect with the land Abilities: communing with nature, can make a plant grow/bloom at will Overview: while dryads can often be seen helping the autumn and spring courts with the planting and harvesting, they’re not exclusive to them. Dryads are valued members of fae society for their ability to communicate with nature. They can sense when a tree is dying and find a way to keep it from an untimely end. Dryads live a life that is in harmony with nature. If there’s a way to live more sustainably, you can bet a dryad will find it. While some dryads can live in more urban areas, they have to return to a more natural surrounding on a somewhat regular basis, or they lose touch with their abilities. Their connection to nature is so pivotal to a dryad that if they live a life primarily disconnected from the natural world, it shortens their lifespan.
𓆩⟡𓆪 faeries 𓆩⟡𓆪
Origins: fantastical Lifespan: 70s-80s Abilities: fire and light manipulation, minor illusions and minor transfiguration (i.e. changing the color or shape of an object, changing the taste of food, making food rot.) Overview: Most people think that faeries are tiny little people that fly around on glowing wings, and that’s just what the faeries want you to think. Sure most faeries tend to skew towards the shorter end of the spectrum, they’re not so short that they stick out in human society. They prefer the mix up because it makes it much easier for them to pull silly little pranks on the humans. Faeries tend to lean towards the chaotic end of the spectrum, but they’re not necessarily malicious. Cross a faeries though, and you might just find that your toast will always come out burnt or how did that red sock get into my white laundry?

🎲 Kulsot (since I already know most of Cupiid’s build VwV)
Hmmm Kulsot has me thinking man.
First instinct was Draconic sorcerer just for the "oh vampiric resistance" for the extra HP. BUT. i'm going a different direction
Archfey Warlock. Who's the fae? Duke Vampire something of the Highest court. That's why he became a damphir probably.
Highest stat would be charisma, I'll say dex or strenght second? idk Bats grace vs vampire strenght. The other stats are pretty balanced. For a magic item, i'd say he could get a ruby of the war mage to put on a dagger and call it fang, just for the vampire meme

More on the theory that the NRC students have a target on their backs, I love that theory.
OH??
Tumblr media
HELLO OH MY GOD ANON YOU MADE ME SO HAPPY BECAUSE HOLY SHIT SOMEONE FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED THIS 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Oh man, now that some time has passed, thinking about it...
In a sense, this is canon with the likes of Kalim, who has been poisoned before due to his position as an heir to the riches and fortune of the Al-Asims. But I’d also like something about his unique magic. Seeing as people like Azul find value in it, I’m sure other people will find value in it, except there may be more malicious intentions.
The fact Vil’s overblot got caught on camera and the backup video has been uploaded to the cloud, which Ignihyde will take care of, opens up a potential avenue to people online being shocked by Vil’s OB, which can potentially lead to worse things. Well, that is if Idia doesn’t upload it publicly... but what if......
Malleus has a lot of potential to be targeted by malicious groups, especially thinking about the live action movies. With the human vs fae war being a thing in Twst canon, it’s so possible for many humans to target Malleus for being a top 5 sorcerer while being a fae (though then again, we don’t know the other top 5 sorcerers soooo)
I still stand by the idea that Riddle and Azul can be targets. They both pose a certain danger to magical people, being able to either seal off or take away anyone’s magic (and if you ask me, I do think Azul’s unique magic possibly hasn’t been mastered yet). But this is also me being biased af kfjsndksmdmd
I just— ooooo give me dorm leaders being targets mAn

Burning Questions I Still Have:
You know SJM really hasn’t given us too much substance in these book talks so I’m just going to put down these questions as my own way of expanding the topic of the book beyond Eris, Azriel, and the copious amount of sex they’re going to have (Nesta and Cassian) though all of that is very exciting.
1. How much does Mor factor into this story? Are we going to see her at all or would she be more focused in on an Azriel story if we get one?
2. Does Elain have any say in sending Nesta away? Will she have some involvement in Nesta’s healing? Will we see her in Illyria, visiting her sister perhaps, or will it be short instances?
3. Does Nesta make new friends? Assumedly she does, but right now it’s looking very established character centric, but you know with these lack of spoilers. (rolls eyes)
4. Will the witch concept brought up in ACOWAR come up in ACOSF? Is Nesta technically a witch? Because her power extends beyond her natural reserve “technically.” Will we see other witches? Witches vs Illyrians... Maybe?
5. What is the main conflict in Illyria? And how will it be resolved? So far we know it has something to do with rebellion, but how do you fix that realistically?
6. How will the women in Illyria gain some autonomy, because lets be honest, everyone learning to fight is and is not going to fix everything?
7. Where is Bryaxis?
8. Eris has a deal with Rhysand to help him kill his father. How would that work? Does it involve Nesta, does this then involve her more in the Inner Circle’s antics in which she’ll gain a job in some way? Whether she wants to or not.
9. How does Nesta suffer? We know emotionally, yes. Power, yes. But how does that come about when there’s so much potential conflict in this book.
10. What is the main conflict of this story? There seems to be many, that I’m sure will be extended to the other books that come out, but to what to extent does this book extend to the others. Will we see all of the same characters in the books after this one?
11. Eris’s mom and Helion; Helion and Lucien. Enough said.
12. Nesta dealing with her father’s death.
13. Cassian’s mom, who is supposedly dead. (Jury is still out on that one; no dead body, no dead)
14. What’s that shadowy evil substance that Mor discovers by her estate?
15. Will Mor get a story? Especially since if she does then she’d be the first LGBTQ character from the SJM universe to have their own book... I think. Don’t quote me on that. But she’s got a lot to deal with too and I think she deserves a book. She’s a very interesting character. She reminds me of a mixture between Aelin and Bryce and the more secretive aspects of Nesta.
16. Will Elain ever get a mate or significant other? Honestly, I’m on the fence with this. Mostly because one, Elain is purely side-character to me. She’s interesting, but not enough right now to warrant a whole book. I also just think that right now she’s kind of useless, and I don’t mean that to be mean, I just mean that she doesn’t have a purpose yet and most of her personality right now is purely fodder. It’s her main personality I say. Maybe not the honest to god deep one, but she’s got at least the surface level personality with hints of iceberg feelings.
Interestingly enough it makes more sense I think to have the next book centered on Lucien and Azriel if they’re going to settle that conflict. Even though I hate love triangles in any sense, but none of them love each other right now anyways... And I think that it would be hard to figure out these three relationships when they’re already linked together in ACOWAR and ACOFAS.
17. Will we ever know why Amren and Nesta got into a fight? Will their relationship be fixed? Also where she at in this whole conflict of interest that is this book and Nesta being sent away? Will we see her often?
18. Will Rhysand have a good amount of time in this book? What is his involvement with Nesta--his sister-in-law lol? Will their relationship reach some level of understanding? Will they hate each other for ever? Will they have some semblance of mutual respect and a common denominator that is the love for Feyre and their protectiveness for their family?
19. What are Cassian’s conflicts? To be quite honest, I feel this book is very Nesta centric, and I do hope that Cassian is not just thrown in there for romance and that’s it. BUT we know the Illyrian conflict, the Mor/Azriel conflict, the issue with being born a bastard, not belonging with his people. The Nesta conflict, the war probably. But like besides Nesta, all of these conflicts have existed for as long as he’s lived. So is that really a conflict or an issue to be dealt with... A lot of this will be resolved through the “Powers of Love” lol and whatever else they can do in Illyria, but then what else? Internally, I don’t feel he has too much to deal with because well... a lot of his problems center around other people.
20. What will Feyre being doing? Let me be honest, I don’t like the thought of Feyre being pregnant. I understand her body her choice, but this girl literally went from let’s spend time with each other to let’s have a baby, because maybe it won’t happen in a few hundred years. But let’s be honest, if I was her I would not be thinking that it would happen in a few hundred years. Things happen in the most inconvenient times, and right now with all this, it’s very inconvenient. I also think I really don’t like it because right now she is really playing into that role of a wife and not as everything we know her as. I mean she’s allowed to relax, to be loved and what not, but I don’t know. Lame, I think, that she became high lady in name, but probably not in any sort of empowerment way, and I think that’s sad because she could do an awful lot of good, and should do it, because right now her court has soooooo many issues, even issues that Rhys kind of just puts in the back burner and hopes for the best. She is the equal to Rhys, but so far she’s not seeming so equal and she also seems to have lost some purpose. So I’m also wondering if this want of a child and planning for it is Feyre’s way of being useful again... because she spent so much of her life taking care of other people. Which again..... ehhhhhh.
21. What the f*** are Nesta’s powers? What do they do? I hope it does not end in some vague inclination like Mor’s truth power whatever. But like, she should be all powerful, death god status. I want to see Nesta as the goddess she is.
22. Koschei??? The stealer of the hero’s wife or whatever as he’s referenced in Russian lore... I think? Is he going to be more involved in Vassa, or Elain even (because Elain right now has always been the damsel) or Nesta, because of the queens and “their powerful ally.” Wouldn’t he be the best teacher for Nesta’s power really, when he’s a powerful sorcerer in the book/death god that has worshippers and what not and collects women.
>>> My theory is that if Elain and Lucien are the next pov’s then maybe Nesta will be kidnapped by Koschei at the end, and Elain gets to really show what she’ll do for her family, and what she’s made of. But it also keeps the story going without cutting it off completely, and we keep the bigger conflict which is that there’s a whole world of problems and rulers and that Nesta’s story can’t really end at this book, because again she’s suppose to be all-powerful, cauldron incarnate, the wind has heard of her, spreading the news around, and that she does need to learn her powers and I doubt anyone can really teach her, but she for sure probably can’t teach her self.
23. Will the love triangle situation not be between Elain, Lucien, and Azriel, but Vassa, Elain, and Lucien, or maybe a love square like A Midsummer Night’s Dream? That would be kinda cool. I just don’t really know if Azriel will be a love interest for Elain, even if he has that fondness for her. Azriel has a lot of problems, but he’s also like... I don’t know. Off topic.
24. The Queens--what the hell? What about that one who turned old and is now immortal? They were chilling in Vassa’s kingdom. Where are they so Nesta can beat their asses? Also, these human kingdoms--what? What are they doing now that their queens are just in hiding and that allied with Hybern to be fae? Do they know?
25. Magical humans--fae blood sometimes trickle into human lines from that one fae whoever she is. Doubt she’s the only one. Probably will have magical humans, realistically.
26. Vassa--all of Vassa. Maybe Vassa and Mor.... You never know. I doubt they’ll get that curse reversed and she’ll be completely human, so maybe she’ll a be a shifter of a sort. If I can remember she’s like the only successful experiment. So maybe she got some fae blood and she can live for a long time and can be with Mor. I certainly hope Mor does not give up her immortality for her love interest, which I’m assuming you can do like in TOG.
27. The fae kingdoms, that conflict needs be somewhat resolved. Doubtful. There’s three main ones I think. No one’s been signing treaties. How? That is all.
28. Azriel powers, shadows, how did that happen? Does it elude to something bigger.
29. Cassian’s background. Who the hell is he? Will we know papa? Mama? Past? He’s the most powerful Illyrian commander, he can’t be normal. The laws of fiction dictate otherwise.
30. Last names? Middle names? Titles. Give me everything Sara.
31. Eris. After daddy is dead, what next? Is his conflict so small and easily taken care of. He is very interesting to me.
32. Did they actually take care of the cauldron? Miriam and Draken, will we see them again and their ideal world?
33. Will Nesta travel? Because she should. She deserves to, it was her plan in ACOTAR, but then she stayed, and now she’s a shell. Please have Nesta see the world. With Cassian or without. Don’t care. Maybe both.
34. How is a treaty going to be established, when humans hate fae, fae enslave humans, and the fact that there is so much more than fae that exist as we know????? Hmmm???
35. Oh Tamlin! Where he at? What he been doing? How will he help this conflict? Assuming he’s probably going to factor more in Lucien’s story, I’m almost positive he’s the next POV. It wouldn’t make sense otherwise to my fanfic writer/ obsessive reader brain.
36. The objective of different worlds. I know SJM probably won’t get into it too much and it would probably be very complicated, but other worlds. Are people still coming in? Do some want to leave? Is it easy to travel between them--provided you know how? *whispers* can Nesta do this?
37..... I don’t know. I will add more if I can think of any, because I probably can. Honestly this was like therapy and made me feel so much better than any of SJM’s lives about the future of this series.
38. ADD YOUR OWN; unless I wrote almost everything. But doubtful!

i finished two books over the past four days........ master of one by jaida jones & dani bennett and reverie by ryan la sala
long post under cut :3
master of one
this one... was kind of disappointing at the end lmao.
master of one had a lot of build-up to a climax that seemed... pretty lackluster. it reads pretty heavily like a book leading into a sequel, so i hope the next installment drops soon because i was left deeply unsatisfied by the ending lol. also i wish shining talon and the rest of the fae characters were more interesting... they all seemed so flat!!! they barely had any screentime and no POV chapters; everything about them was filtered through the perspective of others which i feel was a damn shame.
shining talon was there from the beginning and by the end of the book i feel like he was the same person, almost no growth happened. i mean i guess he and rags had a romantic thread for the whole thing which felt a bit rushed in my opinion but maybe that's what fae are just like so eh....
also the fact that rags was sixteen had me. squinting. couldn't get invested in it because of how weirded out i was by the concept of a centuries old fae prince and a teenager 💀
especially since rags was SO mean to shining talon for the whole book. most of that had to do with his inferiority complex but still. get it together, rags.
on the plus side i loved the worldbuilding SO much. love that revisionist history theme that keeps getting callbacks. the fae turning out to be less cruel and more complex, victims of a war they tried to survive and brutally lost. the queen's mysterious plans and strangely lengthened lifespan vs. her lack of a real matriarchal heir and how that resentment breeds in her sons. the rebellion and all the characters in it!!! rags's backstory with dane as well. sad as hell 😭😭 the strange creatures that bond immediately with their chosen masters, how they become two halves of a complete whole. the mirrorcraft!!! how does it work!!! how do the sorcerers channel their magic, how does the red cloth work, and why the fuck was morien SKINLESS. LIKE WHAT.....
anyways final score: 6/10 and mostly because the story is unfinished and the final climactic scene with morien was super underwhelming. maybe book 2 will raise the score for me in hindsight but until it comes out (if it comes out) i can't say.
reverie
oh my god kane (main character) irritated me so much the whole fucking book. i understand that he's been through a traumatic experience and know that he's dealing with the consequences of actions he doesn't even remember doing due to his amnesia is making him lash out but MAN....... understanding it and tolerating it are two very different things
like i sympathize with his situation i really do: it's shitty, nobody seems to be able to help him, and the people who seem to know more about it are constantly trying to gaslight him into believing that nothing's wrong. but he was so fucking RUDE to his sister who was the only one in his corner the whole way through until she, too, fucking snapped from all the disrespect he was slinging her way.
not to mention the fact that he had the rules of the dreamworlds/reveries explained to him multiple times and he STILL IGNORED THEM. KNOWING THAT DOING SO PUTS PEOPLE'S LIVES IN JEOPARDY. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU
and it's not a "oh kane forgot" NO THIS BITCH WILLFULLY PUT THE LIVES OF OTHERS IN DANGER. and for what!!!! to do selfish shit??? that had absolutely no basis in logic??? he'd do something dumb, realize it was dumb, and then double-down. everything he did in the book actively hindered or harmed everyone else AND himself too! i hated him! the whole! fucking! book!!!
he lost his fucking mind over his sister like my guy can you just pump the brakes. pump the FUCKING brakes. stop ruining everyone's lives because you don't want and don't know how to fix things properly!!!!! GOD........ EVERYTHING YOU TRIED TO DO IN ORDER TO FIX THINGS MADE THINGS WORSE. EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!!!
the others (the name of his friend group) didn't deserve all the shit he put them through, especially after it was revealed that his amnesia was SELF-INFLICTED. he straight up ASKED to have his memories removed!!! and the others were just keeping away from him because they didn't want him dragged back into their world without the knowledge necessary to survive it. and even after he was told this he was mean as hell!! which okay, i would ALSO be pissed about being kept in the dark like that but his friends were like. they constantly tried to help him and for what. to be disrespected at every turn? blown off and ignored? given the cold, spiteful shoulder??? LEAVE HIS ASS!!! IF HE WANTS TO BE ALONE THEN LET HIM BE ALONEEEEEEE AARRRRGGHGHGHGUIHG
he pulled his head out of his ass for the last 5 or 6 chapters of the book but my god he pissed me off so much. fuck that guy. dean, sophia, and the others deserve better.
final score: also a 6/10 but only because the supporting cast was so good. the main antagonist poesy was also extremely iconic with the looks and the dark confidence. literally gaslit gatekept and girlbossed through the whole book.
edit: also it should be noted that even though some of the characters annoyed me, i still finished master of one in two days and i finished reverie in one. they were engaging enough for me to keep reading...... yeah :3

Descriptions:
(quotation marks indicates a blurb we already wrote; no quotations means we wrote it on the spot)
A) Dawn Of Red Death
“Witches, fae, werewolves, vampires and the like are in an all-out war with nonmagical folk (typical humans). The government sees profit in recreating the genes of their abilities and selling them to the nonmagical public, and exploiting the living magical community as pets or servants; the magical community doesn’t want to be cloned or enslaved. Normal everyday folk are scared of their power and potential and want them either locked up or dead; of course, magic folk prefer freedom. Many innocents have died and tensions are running high. Personal stakes are high. Cal saves Davide’s life, and Davide is thrust into a world he had no intentions of mingling with; but after some time spent talking to Cal and Nathan he finds something deep within himself and comes to the decision that the nonmagical folk shouldn’t win this war due to the dire consequences in place for the magical community. So it’s up to our gang of unlikely heroes to end the war for good.”
B) ¿Don’t You Wanna Be The Villain?
“The label “villain” is stuck on someone with questionable methods, but who fights for a good cause. The government is corrupt and greedy, and keeps sending unwilling soldiers to fight White Hawk for them. But White Hawk somehow keeps setting everyone they send free and sending them home...until they send a child to do their dirty work for them.”
C) The Hidden Villain
A crew of heroes has been battling their villain for a long time. During one of their fights, the villain hits the ground a little hard...and with total amnesia, doesn't remember who they are or why they're fighting. The heroes take care of the villain as they recover, & because he likes being taken care of he doesn’t tell them when he starts to remember things (past the point before he became a villain). The heroes find out more than they bargained for as he begins to trust them; that leaves them with a decision of what to do when he does remember, if he doesn’t immediately harm them.
D) Nightstalker Fae’s Dream
Inspired by a tune we heard: “Liar is my instrument, but humans strum their sweet guitar”
A particular type of fae called a Nightstalker gets lost in the human realm after escaping his abusers in the fae realm. Fae hunters are everywhere and Harley is in danger. After a couple years, he meets a sorcerer who doesn't want him dead and has no clue he's fae...and he falls in love. But eventually Azure finds out that Harley is fae, and he despises being lied to. Harley doesn't have much time to figure out if Azure fell too, and to win him back, before fear turns Azure's heart cold.
E) Rising Into Heaven
Tre is a little kid who just happens to be a demon. He escapes Hell by freeing an angel, but if he goes back he'll be in danger. Will the angels let him live, or will they refuse to trust a demon?
F) When Destiny Falls
The DESTINY team chooses a new infant to become the next villain as their current one gets older. But as he grows up, Phoenyx keeps responding differently than they expect, even into adulthood resisting the call of villainy. Meanwhile an academy trains five "heroes" to become egotistical warriors, with the expectation that they will eventually have to fight Phoenyx. When destiny (& the government) calls, will you bend to its will, or will you write your own story & let destiny fall?
G) The Hero Who Can’t Speak
A hero who never speaks intrigues his fans. Most are convinced he's mute or deaf, because no one has heard him speak and he seem to know how to read lips and knows some sign language. It's all speculation...until he finally speaks.
H) But We Could Be Immortal, Darling
“Three low-life thieves makes a plan: one of them (whomever is deemed likeable) woo the crown prince Willow, bide their time, marry him, and when he becomes king, kill him (puts one of them on the throne to pardon all of the others’ crimes). But their pet gets chosen instead - a shy undiscovered queer who wants nothing to do with their plan. They assume he’s afraid enough to cooperate, but while he dates and tries to woo the prince he ends up falling in love. Will their love win, or will Robyn’s fear?”
I) Exposed To The Naïve, Never To The Clever
“An ancient fae, Napoléon, has safely hidden in various theatre crews for a century, moving on as soon as suspicions about his age arise. Everyone he's been exposed to has been naïve & easily convinced that his magic was simply a theatre trick….that is, until an ancient vampire from the same generation, Romulus, joins Napoléon's new theatre. Napoléon has only been exposed to the naïve, and unless they can convince Romulus to keep a secret they might be in real danger for once. These traumatized ancient beings may be each other's end….or each other's eternal love.”
J) Banished To Freedom
- A mafia is experimenting with alternate dimensions; they’re open about this in one dimension & quiet about it in another. Corbyn is from Fade Dimension where they’re open about it. Chance is from Rune Dimension where they’re quiet.
- Banishing Corbyn to Rune Dimension basically blends Corbyn & Chance into one person? one ish person who has memories & emotions from both dimensions, responds to both names, etc.; this can’t be undone once it’s done & leaves them as /essentially/ (sort of) the same person even though they’re different
“Corbyn is tired of living in his universe where everyone is cruel to him…so he takes a huge risk that his father wasn't lying about sending him away and that the magicless universe will be a safe place to hide.
Chance finally got away from his abusers, only to be found again. He'll need a miracle to survive…or a little magic.”
K) The Runaways
Forrest is finally free; he's escaped the cult's grasp and gone on the run. He takes a risk to go into a quiet house to hide....and discovers the Still System. Forrest breaks down crying and unintentionally trips their host Benjamin into front, who decides to not let him fall back into cult hands.
L) Saving Hawthorne
Hawthorne stumbled across the right place to be injured, entirely on accident. Fearless Gen Z rebel Ever rescues the injured monster from crawling up the staircase again and hushes his sobs, not realizing this will launch him into the midst of a war between vampires & lycanthropes. Hawthorne runs away as soon as he can, but Ever has already been noticed. This puts them in danger, which draws Hawthorne back to save his new friend.
M) Eclipse For Your Soul
Samandrael eats souls and drives any human who views its true form mad...until one traumatized little kid doesn't go mad. Samandrael performs his first act of selfless benevolence, and destroys Eclipse's abusive father. He adopts the kid and brings him home. No one understands why this monster would rescue a child and assumes fae kidnapped him. But they simply found someone worth saving.
N) Lightwing’s Journey
((We began this at five years old & it's an ongoing piece. It was originally inspired by Warrior Cats, but became its own thing at some point & continues to expand as a universe and a story.))
Robin is miserable living with his father...so he launches an escape plan. After several failed attempts, he finally escapes his father's territory and slinks into hiding as the elusive Lightwing. It's there that he finds out his father's sinister plan for the other packs...and sets out to dismantle it as the prophecy foretold.
"One kit to wander the lands, see them all, and understand. One kit, light as a feather, to unite the lands and fight together! The darkness is coming, strong and swift, to blind them all and create a rift. One kit to rule all packs, unite them again, and destroy the dark one’s plans. One kit to bring them together, for light as a feather shall fly forever!"
O) The Final Symptom
“Some people find out the hard way that some illnesses are deadly. ~Aiden
An attempt to reframe su*c*de as a symptom of depression, rather than a failure. Not because losing someone to su*c*de isn't tragic, but instead because (from the perspective of someone who has depression) we wanted to show from our perspective that su*c*de is about losing the war to depression no matter how many battles you win, instead of a display of selfishness & lack of care about those around you. One of the symptoms of depression is that it makes you feel like a burden on your loved ones…a burden you feel the need to remove so they can be happy. So here is our understanding: The Final Symptom. ~Nico”
P) Hidden Healers Shatter
This is our understanding of becoming a system. The basic idea is, you're someone who wants to heal &/or realizes you need to heal in a household of people who refuse to, or don't realize they need to, heal...so you hide, and you stay multiple (viewed as "shattering") to survive.
Q) Correrina’s Guest

So [MC] launches a rescue mission...and reconnects with the family he was forced to abandon in his search for safety.
