Furiosa thoughts
About 48 hours after watching, I think my take on Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is coalescing into: I enjoyed it as a Mad Max movie but found it disappointing as a Fury Road prequel.
Any Mad Max movie made after Fury Road was always going to suffer the fate of being compared to Fury Road, which is the best action movie ever made. So like, compared to any other action movie you can think of, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (we'll call it FMMS going forward) is very very good! It just isn't Fury Road.
The rest is under the cut for spoilers:
The action sequences were compelling. (I was aware I was hunched forward in my seat in tension/anticipation almost the entire time.) Some of them were even brilliant. That long sequence where the Octoboss and the Mortiflyers (yes those are their names) are attacking the War Rig with all kinds of airborne contraptions? Phenomenal. I was like yes okay now we are in a Mad Max movie! Other than that one sequence, though, in which we see Furiosa and Praetorian Jack begin to trust each other, I thought they rarely achieved the kind of wordless advancement of character relationships through action beats that is the lifeblood of Fury Road. So the action was good, but it was just normal-good, not Fury Road transcendent.
I did miss John Seale's cinematography. While I thought the action choreography was great, the shot selection was just not as dynamic and interesting as in Fury Road. I also really did not vibe with so much of the musical themes being recycled from Fury Road. The Fury Road score is SO memorable and the music is such an integral part of the momentum and feeling of every scene in the movie; I can play that score and see every beat of the action unfolding in my brain now. I wanted new score that felt like it was a part of this new action that we were seeing.
I loved all the new worldbuilding details and finally getting to see inside Gastown and the Bullet Farm. Those locations and their unique features were utilized really well for the action that took place in them. Loved the new details we got about the Citadel. The grappling hooks just dipping down to yoink people's vehicles during battle? Fantastic. The hidden Citadel ledge with the little pool of water?? That was such a fanfic-ready location. Pretty sure I already wrote at least one fic set there back in like 2016.
The Green Place! Very different from what I imagined but so much worldbuilding in just a few shots.
In general I thought the new cast rose to the challenge. Alyla Browne who played little kid Furiosa I thought was phenomenal actually. That's a tough role, both emotionally and physically, for a child actor and she slayed it. Casting Indigenous model and actress Charlee Fraser to play Furiosa's mother certainly made the Stolen Generation parallels more obvious. I'll have a lot more to say about Dementus down below, but Chris Hemsworth brought a great combo of bonkers and menacing.
I never doubted that Anya Taylor-Joy could bring the emotional intensity needed to the role--she can do crazy eyes like nobody's business, and with the growl she put in her voice she really did sound like Charlize Theron a bit. I found her physicality convincing for a young Furiosa. But she is not Charlize, through no fault of her own. Charlize is tall and she has broad shoulders and she just takes up so much space when moving and fighting as Furiosa and I think it was always going to be hard to replicate that. As long as they didn't try too hard to bridge the gap between the characters I was fine with it. But that one scene at the end where she's bringing the Wives to the Rig I was very viscerally like that is NOT our Furiosa. (I almost wish they would've used Charlize's stunt double for that scene the way they popped Jacob Tomuri into Max's place.) They could have simply left a time gap--based on the "15 years" she says to Dementus and the 7,000+ days we hear about in Fury Road there should be at least a 4-year gap between the film timelines, although in terms of bridging the look of the two actors it feels like it should be more like 10 years.
If FMMS had been a self-contained movie about a character named Furiosa in the Mad Max universe, I think I would have found it very satisfying. But as a prequel to Fury Road there were a bunch of ways I thought it was lacking on a story level.
I think it's pretty clear that this is not the backstory, or at least not the complete backstory, that Charlize Theron was imagining while playing Furiosa. Which...there's nothing objectively wrong with that; word of God and what actors think about their characters doesn't supersede what's on film for determining what is canon. However, Fury Road positions Joe as Furiosa's main antagonist, and while we don't get the full story behind the incandescent rage she directs at him, we know that rage is there and is a big part of her motivation. In interviews at the time, Charlize talked about the idea that Furiosa had been stolen to be a Wife but then was discovered to be infertile and discarded, how she survived by hiding in the Citadel and eventually rose to a position of power, how she saw her actions not as saving the Wives but as stealing them, and that her motivation at least starts out as more about hurting Joe than helping these women.
We get only the tiniest suggestion of Furiosa's backstory in Fury Road ("I was taken as a child, stolen") and the rest we piece together by implication. She is a healthy full-life woman working for a man who keeps healthy full-life women as sex slaves, hoping one of them will produce a viable male heir for him. She is effectively a general in his army, projecting his power on the wasteland, a position no other woman seems to occupy. She tells Max she is seeking "redemption." Redemption for what? She doesn't say. But "whatever she has done to win a position of power within this misogynist death cult" seems like a pretty obvious answer.
And that's interesting! That's an interesting backstory that engages with some of the core themes and moral questions of the Mad Max universe. These movies deal a lot with the tension between self-preservation and human connection. Do you screw someone else over to protect yourself? Even if it means putting them in the terrible position that you yourself have clawed your way out of? Even if it means enforcing your own oppressor's power over them? Or do you take the risk of helping people and caring enough to connect with them, even though this carries an emotional and physical risk?
FMMS doesn't really engage with Furiosa's relationship to Joe like, at all. It's not like Joe comes off looking like a good guy. He's just hardly in the movie. I don't know if this would have been different if Hugh Keays-Byrne were still alive. I don't know if there was pressure from the studio to cast an A-list male lead actor alongside Anya Taylor-Joy (who's a hot commodity now but wasn't what I would call an A-lister when she was originally cast). I don't know if, once Chris Hemsworth was cast, that affected how central his character's role became, since he is certainly the biggest name attached to the film. I would have actually been fine with Chris Hemsworth or another actor of his ilk playing a younger Joe, and us getting to see some of the charisma that attracted followers to him.
But the end result is that we have Dementus, who is a perfectly fine Mad Max villain, and quite entertaining at times! But not the most compelling antagonist you could give Furiosa.
The four Mad Max movies that feature Max go through an interesting evolution. In the first two movies, the villains are people "outside" society--criminals and roving gangs--and the people Max is defending are "civilization." So we have Mad Max where Max is a very fucked-up cop, and Road Warrior where Max is the prototypical western gunslinger, riding in to town to protect the settlement from an outside threat, but ultimately unable to accept any of the comforts of civilization for himself.
Then in Thunderdome and Fury Road, the dynamic switches. Now the antagonists are warlords and dictators. They are civilization. And the people Max ends up helping are trying to escape them.
To me, Dementus feels much more like the earlier kind of Mad Max villain. If there's another Mad Max movie I can most compare FMMS to, it's the first one. Dementus is Furiosa's Toecutter. (Kills her family, gives her her signature disabling injury, movie ends with her seeking revenge on him but it doesn't feel heroic or triumphant.) The whole end of FMMS when Furiosa is implacably hunting down Dementus? Extremely Mad Max 1.
But violent revenge holds a different symbolic place in Furiosa's story than it does in Max's. The end of Mad Max is a tragedy because Max tells us it is. He explicitly states, early in the movie, that he needs to stop being a cop or he'll become no different than the violent criminals he's pursuing. So he leaves his job and goes on an extended weird vacation with his wife and child, trying to get away from the violence of a collapsing society. But that violence finds him anyway, and by the end of the movie, Max has become the exact thing he said he didn't want to be. It's a tragedy not because the people Max kills in revenge for killing his family don't deserve it, but because seeking violent sadistic revenge is damaging to Max. That is not what he needs in order to heal from the loss of his wife and child. What he needs is to take the risk of human connection again. This is what he starts groping toward in the following two movies and fully realizes in Fury Road.
But Furiosa doesn't have the same arc. Her story in Fury Road is about how a few people struggling against their oppressor can be the catalyst that brings down a whole regime. Furiosa getting to rip Joe's face off is fucking satisfying, and it's supposed to be! So it's a bit weird, then, to spend an entire movie giving her a backstory that not only is not about Joe at all, but implies that seeking and getting revenge against Dementus for killing her mother and Jack is what made her into the person we see in Fury Road.
Aside from questions of revenge, what I thought Furiosa's goal was going to be is set up in the beginning of the movie. "No matter what happens, find your way home." Very clear objective there. And then we see her try to get home like, 1.5 times. I thought we were well set up to follow the tried and true film story format of "simple goal, big obstacles, high stakes." I wanted to see her trying over and over again to get home, and being thwarted in different ways every time. I wanted to see grief and guilt over her mother's death turn her mother's last command into a mission for which she would sacrifice anything (and anyone) else. I wanted to see her justify working for Joe and accumulating power in the violent world of the Citadel as what she has to do in order to get home. I wanted to see "Have you done this before?" "Many times." But we didn't really get that either.
Ultimately, I think the least frustrating way to think about the film--which the film itself encourages--is as one of many possible Wasteland legends about a character called Furiosa. Maybe it happened this way. Maybe it didn't. Maybe this is the Furiosa we see in Fury Road. Maybe it isn't. It all depends on how much you believe of the History Man's tales.

Things I need in a Reverse Robins AU
-I don’t care what the order is but please let Duke and Jarro be adopted before Damian is taken in! I need Damian to be jealous of an alien starfish, my bones require it 😭
-Duke ans Damian make Jason and Dick’s lives so difficult… not as antagonist and purely because they snuck out and caused so much havock that Bruce now has a sixth sense for when his kids want to act up. They cannot even attempt stealth because Duke and Damian did it better.
-I want Duke and Damian to be those kid brothers that never got along. They used to regularly ‘spar’ (fist fight) but Dick, Cass and Jason don’t believe it because they get along so well now? Tim and Steph are obviously lying.
-A grown Dick Grayson being so mad because he went his whole life wanting to be taller than just one big brother, one! And he never gets it 🥰 (Him and Tim are the same height. He hates it w a passion) Technically he is taller than Jarro. But so is Ace and Tidus, that accounts for literally nothing.
-In contrasts to his big brother’s stealth and sneaking out shennanigans, Tim just straight up lies to Bruce when he wants to take off with YJ, vaguely saying their plans (baseball, trip to some histprical landmark, chilling on Bart’s new ride) So while Bruce blames Duke and Dami for his greys, he says that Tim is the only reason he isn’t fully grey because he’s so responsible and considerate and always tells Bruce everything. (Tim tells Bruce exactly three things, two are half-truths and one is the boldest lie in town 😇 Bruce is nonethewiser.)
-Running off of that, I want Tim to be the sneaky middle child always in chaos, but I want Dami to know this and point it out to Bruce and gst shut down (like Candace Flynn levels of bad)
-Dick is spoilt by his many older siblings. He knows and takes advantage. I’m talking like 18yo Dick Grayson showing up at 22yo Jason’s place when Jason is at College and Jason returns home to find his little brother wearing his robe, eating hia cereal and asking if he can borrow Jay’s car because Bruce is hiding his keys until Dick actually gets a drivers license, which he doesn’t need because he hardly ever drives anyway 🙄😒 Jason tells him to fuck off, kicks him for not throwing thw empty cereal box away and asks where tf he thinks he’s off to anyway??????
-I want Cass to be a bratty younger sister, but only to Jason. She’s happy to hangout and cherishes her time with all her brothers, but she terrorises Jason. Purposefully is quieter when walking near him to frighten him, steals every comfy, bright hoodie he owns, wiggles into his bed and leaves her stuff for him to pick up, clean. She happily helps with chores until Jason asks and suddenly, she did not hear him, she was ‘busy, calm down grumpy.’ I want her looking at his school work and making faces at him if he tries to help her. I want her to want nothing more than to bite Jason, but also have him be her secret favourite brother. I need them to be best friends but the sort who will sell each other out for a single corn chip.
-Dick convinces Damian to help him steal an elephant. If Damian weren’t so weak for his baby brother he’d think about how even tge manor is not large enough to comfortably house an elephant. Duke isn’t completely sure it’s a good idea, but he trusts his brother’s to be smart enough to think this through ☺️ (they have not and will not think the logistics of owning an elephant through) Tim is fully aware this is a bad plan, he’s just even worse at saying no to Dick 💀 Steph is so mad that she has to be the voice of reason among these idiots 😒
-Tim dropping out of High-school actually leads to a huge fight lol. Bc Duke and Damian have Masters and Jason is looking into Ivy Leagues and Cass adores you Tim you need to be a role model 😠 Tim moves to San Francisco and doesn’t talk to Bruce for months after that fight. He still regularly contacts his siblings though.
-Personally don’t love Jason dying in Reverse Robin AU’s, but you know if Joker killed him at 15 he’d be dead in two weeks tops. Oh you want to kill the baby brother of a trqined assassin and Tim, one bad hour away from villany, Drake-Wayne? You think Duke would stop them? Dick? You think wrong. Dick might even try to jump ahead of the line. Cass is perfectly happy to shut her eyes and pretend she cannot see her brothers planning 🫢 The Joker would die a slow and painful death. Steph and Duje would run Batman distraction. (Bruce actually has a support network and two kids younger than Jason who are grieving. He’d need to be a parent and help them with their grief. He’ll probably be shit at it, but he’d still need to try.)
-When Steph starts college she occasionally visits the manor, liberally fills her bag with spare socks, new towels and non-perishables. Alfred doesn’t mind. Bruce does, but only because he’s more than willing to buy it for her and she will kick him if he even glances at any of his credit cards or bank accounts while she is near.
- Barbara probably has a crush on Steph and Tim. Like not a serious, I want a romantic relationship crush. But like ‘Steph is so strong and pretty and she’s so smart Dick, she wants to be a Doctor that’s so cool!’ And Tim is that weird crush you can’t describe. Like Matthew Gray-Gubler. He looks sorta like a raccon and an addict, but he’s weirdly handsome and can work a computer like no one else, ‘isn’t he so smart Dick?’ Dick doesn’t know whether to be jealous or to laugh at her because. Like. Really??? That’s who you think is cute from all my amazing big brothers ans sisters?
-Dick, as youngest brother, probably has the most eclectic music taste. He listens to classical, trap music, K-Pop, scremo, RnB, showtunes. Just all genres. He doesn’t love all genres, bit he k ows enough to have a super weird road trip playlist.
-Dick also always has to deal with his friends, civvie and otherwise, having crushes on his siblings.
-Jarro barely spends holidays with the family, but he gets presents put aside for him and is the most patient, most fun big brother of the batfam. Damian still hates him, but will begrudgingly buy him gifts and invite him to family events because unfortunately, Jarro is his sibling.
-Because he's never around, Jarro is the favourite older sibling, with Jason, Cass and Dick always making him projects from school. Duke, Dami and Tim see Jarro more, since they love going to see the JL or going to space and don't care that Bruce disapproves. They will either lie to Bruce or sneak out or just leave the manor 'Because I am a grown ass adult B, you can't ground me.' Steph does not like space or the JL half as much and is more busy studying/working than the other three losers. (affectionate)
-Gotham villains are in shock when, after having highly predictable vigilantes who just come in through the front/back door (Duke and Damian) they are faced with vigilantes who will in fact bazooka an entry way open (Jason and Cass)

A day passed. It was the next morning. I was sitting on Gojo's lap in Gojo's office. Gojo was sitting on his chair. We were giggling and laughing at each other's talk. We were alone in his office.
"Your cheeks are soft... I heard that men's cheeks aren't this soft they are kinda hard....my brother's cheeks aren't this soft too" I said pulling his cheeks. He looked at me and smirked. "Oh.. really? My another mussel is soft too wanna make it hard?" He asked with a smirk. I blushed so hard. "Can you stop?!" I said looking away from him and he laughed.
Suddenly the door of his office opened. Maki entered. "Mr.Gojo Yuta called me to tell you go to the 2nd floor...he said someone attacked here" Maki said. "Did he said who attacked?" Gojo asked. "No he didn't " Maki replied and Gojo nodded. Gojo started walking towards the door.
I grabbed his hand. " Why are you going without your gun....are you mad or something?" I said. "I don't need gun tho... they all are there with me " Gojo said. "Shut up ..... I won't let you go without a fucking gun!" I said. "Okey Madam I'm taking the gun" he said and took the gun. "And...." I spoke. He looked at me. ".....be safe " I said. He smirked. " I've to be safe for you, darling " he said and I smiled. The he went out.
Me and Maki were alone in the room. There was silence after Gojo left us there. "So.... you fell in love with him?" Maki broke the silence. I looked at her. "You mean Gojo?" I asked. She nodded. "Yuppp.... Fortunately or unfortunately.... I did" I replied and we both giggled. "What about you?" I asked. "Hmm?" She responds. "Do you like anyone?" I asked. "Yupp I do.... actually he's my boyfriend" she replied. "Oh really? Who's it?" I asked. "It's Yuta " she replied with a blush. "OMG I KNEW IT! DON'T TELL HIM THAT I'M TELLING YOU THIS. I HEARD HIM TAKING WITH MEGUMI ABOUT HIS GIRLFRIEND AND HE'S WAS SAYING ABOUT BUYING A RING" I Replied excitedly. "OMG.... really?!" Maki asked and I nodded.
The door opened again. Nobara entered. "Maki saan come quickly! Mr.Gojo is injured and he's not even letting anyone help him!" Nobara said. My heart skipped a beat. "Wait! Can you please tell me who attacked???" I asked. "It's..... your brother.... Sukuna" she replied. "Oh fuck! I've to go! Or else Sukuna's gonna kill Satoru!" I said and run towards the door.
Gojo's POV
When I enter the second floor. I saw blood and my bodyguards fighting with opponent's bodyguard. I saw Megumi running towards me. "Gojo! It's Sukuna" he said. "Where's he?" I asked and Megumi pointed . I went towards the direction. I saw. He saw me too. He started walking towards me and smacked me directly on my face. "What kind of -" before I could finish my sentence he smacked me again. "Where's my sister???!!!" He asked. 'I can't hurt Sukuna! I promised her!' I told myself. He smacked me again. "Gonna make your death so much painful" he said. I saw my guards coming to beat him "don't come here... don't touch him!" I warned them. Sukuna started smacking me continuously.
Y/n's POV
I run to the second floor. I saw blood everywhere. My heart started beating so fast. Fear got me. Then I saw sukuna. And I saw Gojo infront of him on the floor. There was blood on his face and Sukuna was continuously. "Sukuna! " I called while going towards them. Gojo and Sukuna both looked at me. Sukuna got up and hugged me. "Oh my God!!!!! Fuck I was so scared! Are you okey? Did he hurt you? I know what he did with you! Fuck I'm gonna kill that dick...he won't touch you Again!" Sukuna said. "Sukuna I'm okey...but listen to me! Don't hurt him... please " I pleaded. Sukuna paused. "What?...why?" He asked in a cold tone. "... I.... I love him... please don't hurt him " I said. "ARE. YOU.OUT.OF.YOUR.MIND???" He said. "I... i-i really l-love him " I said. He slapped me hard. He grabbed my face and said "you should fucking DIE!!". His nails digging into my cheeks. I saw Gojo went up and smacked Sukuna. Sukuna fell on the floor. Gojo smacked him again. "Guys...kill his guards " gojo orders. Gojo looked at me "I told you darling... not if he hurts you!" He said and shoot Sukuna's leg 5 times. "Listen motherfucker! If I see your face again... I'm gonna kill you myself" he said and again shoot on Sukuna's leg. But I didn't stop him.
Gojo took me in bridal style and carried me towards our room. I don't wanna see sukuna again. Cause if he can slap for this he's can kill me too and I don't want Gojo to get hurt who kept my promise when he was almost dying... I know Gojo love's me... and he's gonna protect me in any cost!

it's very funny to me that exactly 2 people I follow are posting a lot about BG3 and one of them hates Astarion and loves Gale, and the other (you) hates Gale and loves Astarion. Opposite polarities, I love it
I don't hate him hate him I just think he's very uninteresting and the vibes are bad. The most interesting he's been was when his bestie told him his ex said "kill yourself now [but point it at the Big Brain]" which like. That JUST happened right before I started Act 2 so I'm waiting to see if he continues to be at least mildly interesting or if I can officially say my game did not change for not using Gale like at all and I could have left him in the portal with zero overarching consequences.
And see that's kind of my problem with him. Panic's big into theology so he struck an almost instant friendship with Shadowheart, who has been following him around a bit like a smitten puppy ever since he saved her from the pod, because they got onto the discussion of gods and Shart was happy to discuss her faith once she knew she wouldn't be judged for it.
But when Panic tried the same tactic with Gale it was "yeah I fucked the divine embodiment of magic" "oh okay, good for you I guess? Can you tell me anything else about her?" "The sex was great BTW and I am a very good lover" "that's... nice... but not what I meant" "I could show you if you want" "oh, no, no thank you, actually I just wanted to have friendly conversation" *pop-up in the corner Gale disapproves*
Unfortunately that's how many of our conversations have gone which leads Panic to avoid Gale because he's more persistent about it than Lae'zel (who ironically is both more aggressive in her come ons and yet also stopped when Panic put his foot down about respecting boundaries) and he was already put off Lae'zel for similar behavior.
But he's like. Hmm. Nice Guy (tm) persistent about it which gives ME bad vibes because most Nice Guys (tm) are not actually decent people. And I have no way of knowing if that similarity I see in Gale is telling me that he also is that way, or if it's just an unfortunate coincidence, so I as the player am equally put off by this guy who seems to be coming onto Panic with every conversation and gets mad when Panic uncomfortably extracts himself from said conversation.
Anyway I referenced this post before but I saw a post that said you can find a hundred Astarions on grindr and you can find a hundred Gales in silicone valley and I would 100% agree with both character assessments even though the post meant it disparagingly. The difference is I'm attracted to the Astarions on grindr but can't stand the Gales in silicone valley lmao

What if. What if... Sir Pentious, while at the Hotel, receives a mysterious letter in front of everyone and everyone is confused because Pentious is nervous and doesn’t want to show/tell them who it is from and what it is. Despite the fact that Pentious worriedly makes excuses that this is personal, this causes a negative reaction among the hotel residents because this happens at a time when they have not yet fully begun to trust him. Especially Angel Dust, after that experience, you know. Not trusting Pentious more than anyone else and feeling something was wrong, he snatches the letter from him under the protests of the snake and reads that the letter is from Zestial. Alastor naturally recognizes the name and tells the others, and oh no, poor Pentious is trapped due to a miscommunication! Everyone just immediately thought that he was spying on them AGAIN just for another overlord LOL
Sir Pentious constantly gets into funny situations, I think this could very well happen to him. He will panic and blush at the same time, because ah uh erm well, how is he supposed to tell them all that he has actually been dating the oldest overlord in Hell for a hundred years???

Angel Dust can't actually read the letter, not due to Zestial's magic or anything like that, he just can't read Zestial's handwriting or understand his Shakespearian speech
Honestly most of the hotel probably can't read it (Zestial has some INTENSE cursive handwriting, it took Sir Pentious years to figure out how to read it) except Alastor but he's just stirring the pot more (he absolutely read it already but it's funnier to claim he's a traitor)
they definitely ganged up on him when Charlie wasn't there because they were worried she'll give him another chance and clearly he can't be trusted!
the letter says something like "why are you staying at that hotel? It fucking sucks, please come stay with me 🥺 I would treat you right" mixed with poetry about how much Zestial loves Sir Pentious, truly pouring his heart out on this paper
So something that isn't betrayal (or well at least it isn't selling them out) but still definitely something he wouldn't want to show the others
Charlie gets back in the middle of them yelling at him and is devastated at the idea of Sir Pentious betraying her again so she talks to him herself
And like two minutes into her "I'm not mad I'm disappointed" talk he confesses to dating Zestial
Which backfires on him because they assume it has to be some serious shit if he's that scared of talking (although it's Zestial, anybody would rather double die then double cross him), so they try to interrogate him to figure out exactly what he's been telling Zestial and why Zestial even wants a spy in this hotel in the first place.
Or the letter's asking him to "join Zestial in his bedchambers~( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" and Sir Pentious lets them kill him because that's straight up better than explaining the contents of letter
Alastor tried to read it out loud, realized what it actually said, and then fucking dipped immediately lmao

Ahhhhhh… here comes a rant no one wanted but you’re gonna get. Because why are people so like weird in this fandom? I feel like sometimes people forget we don’t actually know celebrities or their families.
Someone posted pictures of Priscilla celebrating her birthday. I guess her son surprised her with a surprise party and everyone was there. Riley, the twins, their dad, Riley’s dad, Jerry and his wife. A few of her other friends. You can see they’re all just having such a great time together. They all look so happy. There’s a photo of Harper hugging Priscilla and laying her head on her shoulder. It’s so cute.
But of course you’ve got the people in this fandom that hate her so much they’ve got to be negative. One person was like “How is there no loyalty to Lisa and Elvis. Shame on Jerry and them. She clearly isn’t mourning over her daughter.” Huh??????
First off.. No one ever stops mourning a loss of their child. But that doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to continued to live your fucking life. Life is for the living. How do you know she wasn’t feeling some sort of way about her not being there? Do you expect all of them to just never live their lives??? Then about loyalty. Like huh??? Is she not allowed to celebrate her birthday? Is her family not allowed to celebrate with her?? Are the twins supposed to just say “fuck our dad” just because we know how things went with him and Lisa?? That’s their only living parent now. As I always say these people don’t feel the way YOU do about their family. Is Jerry not allowed to celebrate the birthday of someone he’s been friends with for decades??? Someone who Lisa loved???? Are her granddaughters supposed to just say fuck grandma?? Just because YOU do not like her??? I can’t.
People always have to take a happy moment and turn it negative. They are all clearly having such a great time with one another. As Riley said Priscilla has always been grandma to them. They never saw her any other way and still don’t.
Please.. I beg some of you. Get a life. Because I really feel like people forget that this is a real family. You do not know them personally. You do not spend time with them in their daily lives. You do not know how they feel or think. You see what’s in the media and think you know everything there is to know. They will never hate Priscilla the way you do and you need to get over it. Because no one knows that woman more than her family. It’s pretty clear they all love each other.
You get mad when you think they’re fighting and she doesn’t care about the grandchildren. Then you get mad when you see them enjoying life and spending time together. There’s no winning with some of the fans in this fandom.
Pick your battle or just don’t say anything at all. This family has been through enough already. They don’t need fans making it worse with their constant negativity.

I think some folks MAY have gotten the wrong idea about how I feel about Circe with some of my posts. So, to clear the air...
Homies, I love that fucked up sorceress.
I love how we're never given a reason why she turns people into animals. That's so funny and so awful. And another potion-making magic gal?!?! I love that she's just basically vibing on an island doing whatever she wants. I even love the fact that she scares Odysseus shitless! She's morally gray and that's why she's FUN.
I just sincerely hate when people try to girlboss her or have her be a victim of SA when she never was Looking at you, Miller. Especially when she was actually the one who coerced Odysseus in exchange for his men being transformed back into humans. And even then, while he was clearly afraid of her, (it's in the language of the Odyssey) she likely meant him no harm after a certain point. He just didn't know that.
Why does she need a reason to do awful things? Why can't she just be a goddess who does whatever she wants? That's the reason why I love her!!! She's fucked up!!! :D

#welcome to another Mick Airs Out Their Grievances and by god is it a VERY long one#prob best if u don't expand the tags#am I being maybe a bit meaner about this than I would be for any other movie? maybe but pac rim is one of my favorite movies of all time#so I think I get a pass on this one.#one of the groups on campus is hosting movie nights & I went to this one bc I've only ever watched pac rim on my laptop and wanted to watch#it on a larger screen. yay yippee I love this movie!#there r maybe 10-ish of us in this room and a three person friend group is sitting on the couch one of whom has seen the movie and two who#have not. okay so far so normal.#and then the movie starts and they won't! stop! fucking! commentating! the whole fucking movie!!! I don't have a problem with doing that#when I'm in just my friend group because I know that I can tell my friend to stop talking or pause the movie or whatnot but not when I'm in#a large group w people I'm not good friends with ffs#and the comments aren't even funny or anything they're all oh this is JUST like in iron widow!! oh they're SO gay and autistic!!! and#they're talking so loud about this that it completely drowns out the movie audio which has already been turned up a few times#like. be considerate!! some of us want to yknow actually listen to what's going on and not whatever bullshit you're saying#I nearly walked out three or four times before I actually wound up doing so#I may have been a bit of a bitch at the end but I don't care. I got up to leave because this was not an enjoyable environment and one of#them offered to turn the movie down if it was too loud. this caught me a bit off guard since I expected them to still be so wrapped up in#their convo and. well. I may have said 'it's not the movie that's too loud' before closing the door#this also reminds me a lot about my issues with online shipping culture and it bleeding through into how we interact with media irl#this is probably heavily influenced by my aromanticism but I'm so sick of people constantly reading romantic relationships into everything#AND placing more importance on those relationships than any other form. I don't mind romance in media. I think if done right it has great#emotional impact on a story but when a movie is running and when other people who may not want to hear it are in the room watching it too#is not the time to be loudly saying 'he's autistic!' 'they're in love!' 'she has a crush on him!'#I have my own interpretations of the movie some of which agree with what they said and some of which don't but that's beside the point of#knowing how to coexist politely in public#anyway. You see luffy's finishing attack with his giant hammer being fueled by lightning which is nami's main weapon with her clima tact and she even made the guy steer the islands towards the cyclone so even if the lighting isn't produced by her the lighting is provided by her either way so luffy AND her finished that guy and even luffy attacked after nami announced how he will lose which also means nami knew and trusted luffy to end him after that and of course he did and
