circ is such 4 hypocrite. they cl4im to be pro endo 4nd then keep being friends with bigots (they're besties with J4S 4nd other people who've h4r4ssed you so its not surprising). even more recently they c4me out 4nd reve4led themselves to be one of the mods of the 4nti endo 4nd bigoted sysbox tumblr blog 4nd its so fucking dis4ppointed. i never re4lly liked them bec4use of how much they h4r4ss tulp4s but their recent post on th4t blog is such 4 new low. THEY H4VE SUCH PICK ME ENERGY. they're liter4lly joking 4bout being better 4nd more 'civil' th4n most pro endos 4nd endos (you know the people they SUPPOSEDLY support so much), which re-enforces stereotypes 4bout endo systems. they literally do not give 4 shit 4bout us or our rights 4nd i wish more plur4l collectives fucking stopped supporting them just bec4use they make 're4lly nice and friendly sysmed cdd system' their whole br4nd. they're like those people who 4spire to be 4 model minority. they dont c4re. they h4ve never c4red. they only c4re about their own 4cceptance and getting popul4rity but dont c4re 4bout the rest of the community. im so 4ngry. my littles who used to find their blog comforting 4re fucking he4rtbroken. i knew they were shit but im so 4ngry 4t myself for not being 4ble to protect my system. im so 4ngry on beh4lf of my system and on beh4lf of the whole plur4l community. we deserve better
https://www.tumblr.com/sysboxes/745040882164760576/which-mod-is-circular-bircular-arent-they-pro?source=share
i hope this is ok4y to send. im just re4lly angry and your blog h4s 4lw4ys been 4 s4fe sp4ce for us. th4nk you for everything you do btw. despite the h4te, you 4lw4ys keep posting 4nd fighting for our rights. my system 4dmires you [ ^-^] <3
I'm sorry you feel hurt and betrayed.
It's terrible to put your trust in someone and find out they aren't who you thought they were. But for what it's worth, I don't think you let your system down.
Life is about making mistakes and learning. You can't refuse to trust anyone just because you get burned in the past. Maybe it hurts now, but I don't think any lasting damage was done.
Personally, learning this... I find myself largely indifferent. I'm not at all surprised at this, knowing them. They've modded anti-endo discord servers, so why not an anti-endo sysbox blog?
My own feelings on Circ are complicated. I do not consider Circ safe for endogenic systems given their reblogs and support of anti-endos, and frequent parroting of anti-endo talking points.
At the same time, I actually do think their presence in anti-endo spaces has been a net positive for our goals in those communities. Circ has bragged a few times about making their anti-endo friends more pro-endo. And while I wouldn't say those friends became allies to the pro-endo community, many did switch to more neutral stances which I do think helped reduce hate against endogenic and pro endo systems in those spaces, and that seems like a good thing for me.
So I guess, while I don't care much for Circ as a person due to history there, I can acknowledge that their influence in anti-endo spaces ultimately serves my goals.
Besides, it's really upsetting some anti-endos so that's fun to watch! 😁
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And you know, they have a point.
Like, if I was following a pro-endo blog and learned that one of the mods was anti-endo... and an anti-endo who bragged about making pro-endos more anti-leaning, I would be very suspicious of not just that one anti-endo but all the mods on that blog they were friends with.
How can you trust that your anti-endo sysbox mods haven't already been converted to the other side and aren't just lying to you about their syscourse stance???
Now you might think I'm just intentionally trying to spread mistrust and division among anti-endos by saying this... get them to turn on each other and tear themselves apart from the inside. And you'd be absolutely right! But that doesn't mean I'm wrong, and it doesn't mean me stating my motives aloud will make it any less likely to work!
And I would even like to say that I do appreciate the mod team on that blog being able to look past an alleged pro-endo's syscourse stance. Even if it's only for this one kind-of-hypocritical exception since they still refuse to interact with any other pro-endos.
Yes, I SophieInWonderland, endogenic tulpa, support sysboxes for having a pro-endo-identifying mod!
And since antiendovents crossposted in the inclusive plural tag, this is going straight into the anti-endo tags so the entire anti-endo community can see me expressing this support that I'm sure won't create any waves at all. 😈

Heyyy, hope you're having a good day!!
I wanted to ask why you didn't you like Circe or The song of Achilles? /gen
I have not read neither of them but I've heard positive reviews from almost EVERYONE so I thought it'd be good to see a different opinion about them, I don't wanna get my hopes up too much and then get disappointed, yk?
hello!! thank you for the ask :)
i’ll be honest— i haven’t read circe (because tsoa made madeline miller irredeemable to me) but from what i’ve heard of it, it seems to really be pushing radical feminist ideology. in the odyssey, circe (if anyone) is the one to rape odysseus, but madeline miller flips the narrative and puts the blame on odysseus. this is obviously very harmful for male victims of rape. other than that, i’m just really not a fan of any of these feminist retellings. it’d be too much to put in one ask, but it erases history, takes credit away from the real women that lived in these times and isn’t even good feminism to be pushing now
as for tsoa….. omg <33333 i hate it. i have a whole long post about it here, but in short, i hate all the rape that is glossed over, the erasure of achilles’ and patroclus’ actual sexualities, the cardboard of a main character that patroclus is and the vilification of apollo. that’s just to name a few things. even apart from storytelling, her style is just simply not for me. way too extravagant.

Astra: I don't know what the hell is going on but it looks like Circ's meme we reblogged the other day became legit just the truth. What the fuck tumblr, why have we gone ten steps back in less than a month? Where they did did all of the anti's come from? Did Twitter do another migration without us noticing?

Wait, what Nessian hike scene? I quit reading after acomaf…
Oh God so this is going to be long but it makes zero sense without the bonkers context: in the Nessian book (book 4, Court of Silver Flames) there is this bass ackwards subplot invented to make sure Feyre can't solve the plot - SJM says, "Oh, Feyre - the 22 year old who learned to read last year - is pregnant by her 530 year old husband and so she can't fight!! 🥰💕🥰😌😌 Isn't this lovely?"
Except - and I am not joking this is all explained in EXCRUICIATING DETAIL - Feyre and Rhysand were having sex while Feyre was shape-shifting into an Illyrian and now the baby has wings. Apparently shape-shifting changes your entire DNA. And Illyrian women have pelvic bones shaped to carry winged babies but High Fae dont. Because Feyre and Rhys had wings while they banged, the baby has wings. And this is VERY DANGEROUS. So dangerous that Feyre cannot use any of her powers - cant shift back to the appropriate bone structure for the baby. The pregnancy could rip Feyre apart from the inside. They CANNOT do a c-section - they are extremely firm and insistent on this. Feyre is absolutely going to die if she continues the pregnancy to full term. The birth will be SUPER DANGEROUS.
And Rhysand just decides that Feyre doesn't need to worry her pretty little head about this information. He tells the details to every single person in the Inner Circle because he is just so SO worried about his darling Feyre...
But yeah she definitely doesn't need to know medical information about her pregnancy so that she can make informed desicions and choices of her own!! Who needs to make choices of your own free will when you have Rhysand amiright!?!?
Anyway Rhys and the whole Inner Circle have been treating Nesta like absolute scum and garbage because she has PTSD and isn't grieving in a nice, pretty way like Feyre or Elain. Nesta is self medicating with casual sex and copious amounts of booze and doesn't want to spend time with people who hate her (ie, the Inner Circle) so they get super salty and decide to tear down the apartment where Nesta is living, force her to move to the House of Wind with Cassian, who at this point has nothing positive to say abut Nesta except that she looks hot when she's starving herself, and order her to train as a warrior even tho Nesta has repeatedly expressed that she has zero interest in fighting as a soldier. They explain that she's EMBARRASSING to the Night Court and Feyre exclaims, "How can I have any right to rule if I can't control my own sister?"
Yeah.
So anyway Nesta is pissed as fuck about this after several hundred pages of MacGuffin Hunting and decides that it's wrong for Rhysand to be such a manipulative fucking control freak about their lives so she tells Feyre (correctly) that Rhysand doesn't really respect her because if he respected her, he'd tell her how dangerous her pregnancy really is.
Now we get to the hiking scene. Brace yourself because it's about to be gnarly as fuck:
So Nesta has spilled the beans. Feyre gets very sad and starts to cry like a little girl - which, for all intents and purposes, she is because SJM chose this book to make Feyre weirdly "pure" and innocent and a beacon of goodness and light. Weird choice given that Feyre is canonically willing to murder literally anyone who gets in the way of what she wants for her future, but whatever.
Seeing her sister cry makes Nesta extremely upset and triggers her to start having an absolute breakdown. The book so far has been full of passages describing Nesta's feelings of worthlessness, her lack of self-esteem, and the way she desperately needs to control some aspect of her life (drinking, having as much sex as possible with complete strangers, having rituals to lock her door and take baths because these things are insanely triggering for her) because all of her choices and autonomy are constantly being stripped from her. She fears now that Feyre will hate her, because she was angry when she revealed the truth - so Feyre won't hear the truth, but will hear Nesta's fury, and at last, her little sister will hate her for good. Their relationship may now be ruined.
However, instead of Feyre and Nesta having a heart to heart a la ACOTAR and instead of them collecting Elain and fucking off from the Night Court for good - Feyre runs crying to Rhysand, who gets so incredibly fucking angry with Nesta for... revealing the fact that he lied to his wife about her own pregnancy.
Rhysand orders Cassian to get Nesta out of Velaris, "Or I'll fucking kill her."
Actual line. From the text.
Now, idk if you've guessed by now, but Cassian is actually Nesta's love interest for this book! Spoiler alert, but they turn out to be mates!!! So what is Cassian, the most alpha of all the very alpha very sexy Bat Boys, going to do when some random ass guy who is smaller than him threatens his mate?
Nothing.
Actually, I lied - Cassian obeys Rhysand unquestioningly. Zero instincts with regards to protecting his mate, whom he is supposed to be falling in love with, whom he is supposed to respect. He takes Nesta out of the city and thinks about how fucking angry he is with her, how mean and awful and cruel she is for... telling Feyre - again, correctly!!!!! - that Rhysand doesn't respect her as an equal and that her pregnancy is dangerous. He decides that he's going to punish Nesta by forcing her to hike across the mountains! He and Rhysand have a good little mental chuckle about this. Haha, Nesta hates hiking and being in nature, she'll be so miserable, but she totally deserves this for being a nasty evil person who we dislike. :)
During this conversation when Cassian decides to physically punish Nesta for acting out, also, it's revealed that Feyre is TOTALLY fine with the fact that Rhysand kept details about pregnancy secret from her. It totally doesn't matter that he lied to her and removed her agency and her ability to make informed decisions about her own life and body. He always has good intentions and just overreacted out of his overwhelming love for her, and who is Tamlin, again? What was the issue with him supposed to be? Anyway, I forget! Who cares!? Feysand baby is a go, they're going to name him Nyx <3
Cassian and Nesta are now hiking. Nesta is neither eating nor drinking, even though they are literally marching up and down multiple mountain peaks. For days, Cassian does not speak to Nesta except to bark orders at her about where to stop for the night, and to wake her up in the morning. Nesta rapidly spirals, thinking about how she's in pain and how much she deserves this, since she's a hateful person who has ruined every relationship she's ever had, so it's fine if she dies.
Cassian thinks, "Huh, Nesta's awfully quiet. Weird. She's probably preparing to yell at me again, she's such a bitch."
But then he notices how little she's eating, and how hard she's pushing herself despite her being much physically weaker than him, and he wonders if she's trying to kill herself.
He doesn't react to this insight, and continues marching her across the mountains until Nesta quite literally passes out from exhaustion.
Cassian is now somewhat worried - he's still angry at her, though, and yells at her that she should have been drinking more water.
Soulmates, everybody!
Anyway, once Nesta is revived, they have a heart-to-heart... sort of. Nesta tells him how worthless she feels, and how she genuinely believes she deserves what is happening to her. She thinks that she deserves cruelty, and is completely un-loveable, because she couldn't forgive her father for neglecting them as children and he still went out to die for them. Cassian... replies that he once burned down a village because that was where his mom was from and his mom was mistreated. No reaction to any of Nesta's insecurities. He doesn't reassure her, or tell her that he loves her no matter what, or that her pain doesn't define her worth as a person. He tells her that the best time to be a nice person was yesterday, and the second best time is today. Then he gives her a sword and tells her to start her training up. They have sex by a lake.
Ta-da! Nesta is now cured of her PTSD.
That's the hiking chapter! And while I'm at it -
At the end of the book, Cassian has never once admitted to liking Nesta as a person on the page - oh, he loves having crazy sex with her and her huge boobs, but he still kinda thinks she's an unreasonable bitch - and Nesta has gotten on her knees to apologize to the Inner Circle for being inconvenient and mean to them. Nobody ever apologies for calling Nesta worthless, or telling her she ought to be thrown into a dungeon in the Court of Nightmares, or for tearing down her house, or chasing her out of Velaris. Nesta sacrifices her vaguely defined powers to save the Feysand baby. And they all live happily ever after.
I rarely call out authors directly but I hope this long ass post explains my very deep and special personal hatred for SJM. She wrote a "healing arc" for Nesta which involved her being physically beaten into submission and molded into a "nicer" person for the Inner Circle's convenience. I have never read anything more fucking disgusting than Court of Silver Flames.
Tldr: You quit while you were head anon, and I'm proud of you.

do you think asterion sensed sally's motherly love for percy and became jealous of him..
especially bc posideon was basically the reason why he was born, resulting in him being abused by m*n*s
like..his mom hated him from birth, she didnt even hold him it was the handmaidens who took care of him for a very short while
so when he meets percy already prepared to kill him he senses sally's love and is jealous that the son of the god that ruined his existence gets to have a loving parent
and how about the battle of manhattan!? percy got the life he never had, loved by his family and friends (+ posideon!) while asterion has to fight again and again just like when he was young ☹️☹️☹️

Reading Circe only to drop it after seeing how Miller changed Helios from a loving father and a decent person to a narcissistic sociopath who only cares for himself and Odysseus from an intelligent, grey character who sincerely loved his wife and child to an arrogant, manipulative abuser.

The thing is: Isn't the Hymn to Demeter and Circe's role in the Odyssey already feminist? like Demeter in her hymn (not Hades, idk why shippers don't get this, he wasn't the good guy) stood up for herself and her daughter when Zeus and Hades abused their power of them and she WON, while Circe was a woman confident in herself and her power and refused to be defined by a man or marriage, yet writers like RS and MM are like ugh no, REAL feminism is when their only worth is through men! like?? huh??
Yes they are! They are not perfect but they reflect the age better, as well as how women found and handled their power in such societies

For real though Circe is overrated in a USian culture crisis who want to make every female woman a "badass" but choose to glorify the toxic ones instead. Unfortunately Circe will have a movie so...we will see how it will turn out..
When i said i wanted a Greek mythology movie I didn't mean based on a retelling or a video game...
Greek film companies stop making cheap soap operas and start funding new movies like Iphigenia or Elektra did.
You're right, Circe was getting a movie ;;-;;
I'm so, SO scared of what's gonna happen after that. Odysseus getting MORE hate, i guess. If people are gonna shit on him, at least do it with the sources lmao :')
Can't wait for another story of a woman (Circe) getting SA and then hurting everyone due to that !!! This is just Dark Medieval Fantasy tropes all over again. As you say, it's so easy to pick Elektra or Iphigenia and adapt the original works to a movie, and that's it, no retellings, NO retellings. Just pick up the original work and move on.
Like, what, just because Miller's Circe says that Odysseus is horrible do we need to despise him? Just because an USAnian says we need to stop loving a figure older than the entire USA? What do we do? Destroy Odysseus' sculpture that is in the current Ithaka, because according to Miller's Circe he's actually a horrible human being?

I know it was confirmed Rex and Circe after the end of the Generator Rex series, both are now dating as an official couple. But... they're breaking up, so... Rex's more interested in Beverly Holiday (Rebecca Holiday's sister) instead. Also it's the first time I draw Beverly Holiday as well.

Clearing the Air Regarding Circ
I've been debating back and forth regarding posting on this issue for a time. With the recent posts about Circ from the uncensored syscourse blog, I thought I would finally post my thoughts.
This has actually been in my drafts for about a month after I saw some hate directed at Circ that seemed to be a related to posts I had made, but I never finished it. I need to get better at finishing what I start.
Anyway, this post is probably not going to be nice. But it's probably going to be nicer than their old callout post of me. So whatever...
A while ago, they said this about how they think I see them.
she has already picked out who I am to her: to her, I’m a member of a hate group who is masquerading as someone they’re not.
And... you know, I could certainly see how someone could get this impression from my posts. The thing is... I don't actually think that's true. At least not entirely.
That's how I see SAS, who will adopt labels like "syscourse enraged" or "pro syscourse conversation" on Tumblr, while their partner heads over to r/systemscringe to tell the anti-endos that SAS is "100% anti-endo" so they can get that sweet r/systemscringe demographic. SAS's stance is whatever they think will convince the most people to listen to them.
As for Circ... and this is only my view as someone who has only seen them through the lens of their public blog posts over the course of a couple years...
I think Circ... Is a system with a lot of friends on both sides, and is fiercely loyal to friends to a fault.
And some loyalty to the right people is generally considered a positive and admirable trait. But I also think it can get taken to an extreme on occasion. Say, for instance, your friend is under fire for fakeclaiming and transphobia, and your response is to come up with a list of things the victim said to deserve it.
I also, believe it or not, agree with and respect a lot of Circ's syscourse takes. At least, many of the original ones. If Circ is the first system to bring up a topic in syscourse, their take will be good a lot of the time. Their worst syscourse takes are often parroting things their friends have said, and feel to me like those opinions are due more to the influence of Circ's friendgroup.
I've also noticed a lot of double standards, where they'll criticize someone for some behavior they deem to be wrong one moment, and then turn a blind eye to their friends doing the same.
(Again though, this is only my opinion as an outside observer. And there could very likely be private conversations about their friends' conduct I don't see because it would be handled in DMs.)
I do think Circ honestly considers themselves pro-endo. I'll still use scare quotes when mentioning their syscourse alignment because I find them to often be out of touch with the endogenic community and our interests. (I also realize Circ had bad experiences in the pro-endo community before so I'm not really faulting them for no longer being as comfortable in those spaces.) Believing in endogenic systems is a great start, but I think because of their friendship with anti-endos, they still want to try to appease both sides as much as possible. Which is something I'm never going to agree with.
Which brings us to the core conflict we tend to have...
I don't believe there's a world where endogenic systems and anti-endos can both find total acceptance
Any gain for one group is going to be a loss for the other.
Circ doesn't like me calling anti-endos a hate group because, in my (again, outside) opinion, they're friends with anti-endos and don't see how the people they're friends with could possibly be part of a hate group.
I think that it's important for plural acceptance to use strong language to make sure that pluralphobia and endophobia are taken every bit as seriously in our communities as transphobia or homophobia are.
I don't really think that Circ is a bad person.
But I think as long as these conflicts exist, Circ and I will never see eye to eye. Because Circ will likely always be friends with anti-endos, Circ will always be the person trying to protect their friends, and I'm always going to be targeting anti-endos to make sure that the anti-endo ideology isn't tolerated anywhere.
In my honest opinion, the main reason Circ and I clash the most isn't because they're an anti-endo in disguise, but because my main goals will involve making things less hospitable for people Circ considers friends.
And I can respect that.
I mean, as far as reasons to dislike me go, wanting to protect people you care about is at least an admirable one.
(Not saying this is the only reason they dislike me, obviously. I'm certain they can find lots of other reasons. But it does seem a recurrent theme that these are the topics that make them the most heated.)
At this point, most of my issues with Circ are personal
It turns out, I'm very good at holding grudges.
I think from the pseudo-fakeclaiming callout post accusing me of speaking over "actual systems" and using "abusive sources," I've held a bit of a grudge. And there were numerous other posts with very personal attacks directed towards me since. And of course, the SN document which included many outright lies or just massively twisted my past statements. Sometimes to the point of saying the exact opposite of what I said. All to defend "contextualize" their friend's fakeclaiming and misgendering of me.
(Seriously, how do you get me saying that "alters are hallucinations" out of me very explicitly stating that alters aren't hallucinations?)
I did see the apology for their one fakeclaiming line about me. And I think I can forgive that. But there's just honestly been so much piled on in the year-and-a-half since that it barely even matters anymore.
And even if bridges could be mended, the simple fact that I'm always going to be the person trying to brand their friends a hate group in the public consciousness means that those bridges would naturally get blown to bits again.
And so in a strange way, I feel only disliking each other is probably healthier for everyone involved. Relatively speaking, I mean. Obviously, it's not healthy. But it's better than trying to mend things and hope for something better, only to watch them explode again.
Some puzzle pieces aren't meant to fit together. Sometimes people are just coke and mentos. 🤷‍♀️
I do not need or want to get along with everybody.
Like I've said a few times, these are all my outside observations and could be completely off-base. But I thought I would get them out there anyway.
The main reason I want to go over this though is this...
I would very much appreciate people leaving Circ alone
At least, as far as it concerns our conflict.
I assure you that I'm a big girl and I promise I can take care of myself.
I don't need people to try to defend me in anons to Circ or anyone else.
I sure don't want people harassing them, calling them a bitch or sending them hate mail due to our personal drama. (Is it still personal drama even if every bit of it the drama has been plastered across our public blogs? 🤔)
People, even ones we don't like, are still people.
And if after reading this, you don't care and have decided that these people are just that bad and deserve it, your actions can easily have a ripple effect and hurt our community too. Blowback is a real threat here. If you normalize sending anon hate to the other side, anti-endos will see that and use it to further justify sending hate to people on ours.
There is never an excuse for sending people hate.
