The lack of cursed Tim Drake stories/aus is honestly unbelievable.

He grew up in a house full of Archeological findings, mostly alone without any adult supervision.

Anyway. I have one that isn't as angsty as it could be, in which he doesn't get cursed out of maliciously, but because of kindness.

The curse was held in a wolf statue and gifted him the ability to turn into one. But only if his emotions get out of hand. Be it happiness, fear, or anger.

So he trained himself to control his emotions, as his wolf side was quite handy for his bird-watching hobby.

(He also ends up with quite the resting bitch face because of this. It also helped him a lot as Robin)

But he also needs to shift from time to time or else he'll get... a bit irrational.

Then he becomes Robin and Bruce, the best detective in the world, has no idea about his true nature.

The only people that know are Alfred, Cass, and Jason.

Alfred found out on one of his "check ins" With Tim. He used to visit him daily with an nice lunch packet to make sure he was alright and the first time he did, Tim was so surprised that he spawned tail and puppy ears.

Cass is his cuddle buddy. They are like siblings and love each other. Tim is also aware that someone must know. For case of emergency.

Jason wanted to cripple his replacement and got body checked by an overgrown puppy. Like Tim got so happy that his packmate was still alive that he couldn't control himself. The shook was enough to snap him out of the pit madness

(Jason: does dad know?

Tim: dad?

Jason: I meant Bruce.

Tim: ew. That's my boss.)

The rest of the batfamily doesn't know, but is still influenced by his ferral wild side.

Mostly Damian. Because Tim can't take this tiny Puppy seriously. He is a baby and part of his Pack. Tim also doesn't get that he is trying to murder him. He seriously thinks that Damian is initiating play fights and he, as a good big brother, indulges in it. These playfights are actually pretty good for Damian.

It helps with his murderous tendencies and it became more playing than fighting quickly.

These Play Fights help a lot with stress and anxiety for the both of them.

Dick isn't aware that they are playing. He seriously thinks that they dislike each other as if Tim wouldn't pull Damian into Bruces' bed whenever they had a bad patrol.

Also, his relationship with dick is a lot more open.

He gets that he sounded like a lunatic. He understands that Damian is the new pack puppy that needs to be watched 24/7.

But he also knows that his big brother loves him a lot and that he gives the best hugs. He loves him with all his heart and trusts him with his life.

Tim is protective of Duke. He is still new to the pack and the villigate life. That he patrols all alone gives him a lot of anxiety and he often follows him in wolf form. Duke thinks that he is a lost stray and always has some jerky for him.

The only person that Tim has a bit of a problem is Bruce. Because he is eternally torn between "this is a work relationship and he is my boss" and "Papa who gives me loving head pats". It's a real struggle for him.

I've been reading a lot of batfam shifter aus lately and now I'm wondering how Talon!Dick and Owl Song Bruce and Alfred would react to Jason being able to shift into an owl at will? 🦉

Aweee a literal owlet!

Dick would be ecstatic because he’d get to cuddle a fluffy little baby bird (and also it’s much easier to keep a tiny owlet safe than a whole ass child lol) and gets to teach it to fly! Also, owl sounds. Dick and Jason would be able to communicate effortlessly from the get go.

Bruce would assume there’s some kind of link between Jason’s lineage and the Court of Owls. Which there isn’t. But it just seemed like too much of a coincidence at first. After that he’d just accept that Jason sometimes turns into a fledgling bird and moves on to install various perches and nesting areas around the manor.

Alfred would read a lot on how to properly care for owls (because Jason is much too thin for his age) and upon finding mostly diets of insects and mice (and bats, which totally cracks him up at least once) just opts to find out what Jason himself likes to eat.

Also, blankets and fabrics for nest making. Because there’s be even more of those around the manor if both Dick AND Jason regularly build them.

You know how the Batfamily are shifters in alot of stories? How the fuck do they not get found out? Like really, one has Dick as a sugar glider and the whole time I'm reading I'm wondering how Dick doesn't get found out? Like, does he change colors or something?

I think Alfred would be the easiest to hide because, unless he wants it, he isn't really seen to the citizens and heroes, it seems, just his family.

Really, how do they keep their identities secret as shifters?

Especially if they don't change fur colors or anything like that?

More shifter au nonsense bc I'm procrastinating on making the schedule. Your shift isn't decided by genetics in this verse. I'm borrowing an idea from a published trilogy that's not a shifter thing and turning it into a shifter thing. Solely to give Jason more trauma (sorry Jason >:3c)

But this is just the beginning of a cute dick & tim & Jason batbro moment

Dick has his nose in a fresh mug of tea, inhaling the steam as deep as he can to help his clogged sinuses, when he hears the thunder of footsteps. He glances up just as Tim slams into the kitchen, eyes wide and chest heaving. Tim lights up at the sight of his brother, grinning mischievously, and shifts to scurry to a hiding spot mere seconds before Jason appears, breathing just as heavily but scowling. His cheeks are pink, his ears are bright red. Dick cackles internally, careful not to give away the game

"Where. Is. He?" he growls. "I'm gonna fucking murder him."

Dick tilts his head and takes a serene sip of his tea. "Who?"

"Playing stupid doesn't look good on you," Jason sneers, eyes roaming around the kitchen. He pauses on Dick, and they narrow. "...your sweatshirt is moving."

"It's called breathing?"

Jason stares at him for a beat, then quick as a snake, he lunges for Dick. Tim scrambles out of his hood with a chittering laugh, nails pricking the back of Dick's neck and making him wince. His two brothers are careful not to jostle him too much in the mad scramble of cat-and-mouse, so Dick continues to lean against the counter amidst the chaos, hiding his smile behind his mug.

"You little rat!" Jason grabs Tim over and over again, but he just slips through his grip like a noodle. "I swear to God, if you don't - fuck! Did you just fucking bite me?!"

Tim yawns right in his face, showing off his tiny sharp teeth. Dick gives in and laughs out loud, wheezing and snorting, and laughing even harder when Jason glares at him. Tim just flops over in Jason's hands, seemingly bored with their game now. And secure in the knowledge that Jason won't actually do anything to him.

"What did he do?" Dick asks.

"Like you don't know!"

"I don't, actually."

Because there are so many possibilities.

Jason fings Tim at him. He's gentle about it, but Tim screeches in surprise anyway. Dick catches his brother one handed and slings him over his shoulder.

"He fucking changed my modulator to - to - !" He lets out an inarticulate noise.

Tim shifts back, clinging to Dick and laughing loudly. Dick nearly ends up on the floor, staggering under the sudden weight. Tim doesn't care, wrapping his arms around his shoulders and legs around his stomach in a koala cling.

"Animalese," Tim wheezes around his laughs. Jason growls and lunges again, only to be twarted by Dick turning so he's between them.

"Yeah. That. Now hand the rat over so I can kill him."

"He's more of a weasel," Dick tells him.

"It literally doesn't matter."

Tim laughs again, and there's a hint of a chitter. Dick smiles fondly at the sound. There was a time there he was worried he'd never hear that particular laugh again. Fondness flickers over Jason's expression before he forces it into a scowl. Dick rolls his eyes, but he just feels warm all over.
