they saw each other again — remus loses the track of time, actually, of the distance between their interactions. it’s always the same; fangs and bloodied lips and red-lipped grins.
that time, though, sirius kisses him. with hunger and dark eyes and long nails digging in the soft flesh of his shoulders, and he felt blood, red and warm and metallic on his mouth, dripping down his chin. sirius, however, does not push him away, even after that, instead he lets his hands run down remus’ body and sits himself at the piano.
“would you like me to play something for you?” he asks, letting his fingers float over the keys. “i haven’t touched this piano in ages, i find myself drawn to other things recently.”
“such as?” remus asks, letting himself fall on the silk cushion, his head lightly hitting the wall.
“pondering on abstract concepts.” he presses his fingers against the cold keys, and the sound reverberates through the air. “such as immortality and death,” he adds, an answer to the odd look remus gave him.
“and what is the conclusion that you have gotten to?” remus presses his fingers to the wound on his palm; it’s healed, but it scarred, and remus looks at it more often than he would like to admit.
“the conclusion that i have gotten to is that, unless someone actually does kill me, i will forever live. and i find death to be a subject that not many agree on, however much the subject is discussed, yet i still find it intriguing. do you think we are given a second chance after passing, or are we stuck in the vicious place that they call the inferno?”
“i think we’re given a second chance. i don’t know to what extent, or what that implies,” he said, getting up from the couch and sitting himself down next to sirius, on the velvet chair, “but i don’t think that such a forgiving deity would just… decide that one is irreversibly bad and leave them rot.”
sirius nodded, and pressed his lips against remus’ neck, yet that was all. he felt the smile against his skin. he hummed, pressing every key lightly. “i find myself to believe the same as you. and besides, would the idea that all of you are sinners be real, the purgatory could not be such an awful place, could it? after all, you still have company.”
“i don’t know why i am talking about this with someone who is likely to live for many hundreds of years after i die.” remus laughed. “but i can say i like the way you think; very open-minded for someone born thousands of years ago.”
sirius chuckled, against remus’ skin, still. he felt sirius’ lips part, and a sigh escape his lips. “i shall not forget you, whenever your death shall come, for that i will love you for infinity.”
remus nodded, and he didn’t know if that was him agreeing to what sirius had said or allowing sirius to do what he wanted to do.
maybe it was both; and sirius knew that, because his teeth sank in remus. the room was light, his vision was blurring, yet with his eyes he still saw sirius, whose lips pressed one last, crimson kiss to the soft flesh of his neck; his eyelashes fluttered against his cheek, and then it all turned dark.

hello, hello! can i ask for an au of emt!marauders? she had a minor accident maybe in her work or college and they got called in without knowing that it was her? (shes their gf) 💘
How could I refuse??
cw: minor head injury, the teeniest tiniest hint of a praise kink
emt!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 1.5k words
You’re sitting on the curb holding a bag of ice to your head when the ambulance cuts its sirens, coming to a stop. The door opens and boots hit the pavement in front of you.
“Dollface?”
You blink up into the sun. “Sirius?”
He crouches by your knees, worry making itself at home in the crease between his brows. “Hey, baby, what’s going on?”
“I didn’t think it’d be you,” you say dumbly.
“Are you hurt?” James comes bounding around the other side of the ambulance, Remus not far behind him. You can’t say you’re not happy to see them, but you sort of wish your reunion could have waited until your date tomorrow night, when you would almost surely not have been in your work uniform and covered in pasta sauce. “Are we here for you?”
“Technically,” you reply, somewhat bitterly. James squats beside Sirius, mouth pulling to one side. “I fainted a little bit, and my boss said he had to call an ambulance. Just so I can’t sue the restaurant, I guess. I’m totally fine.”
“They called us and then made you sit on the curb?” Sirius asks angrily while James says, “How does one faint only a little bit?”
“They didn’t want you guys scaring the customers.” You choose to answer only Sirius’ question, shrugging. His eyes flare, and he looks towards the restaurant like he’s thinking about going inside to have some words with your manager, but Remus passes a conciliatory hand over his shoulder as he sits beside you on the curb.
“What’s this for, love?” he asks you, covering your hand where it holds the bag of ice.
You must look as sheepish as you feel, because his eyes narrow slightly. “I guess I hit my head a bit when I fell.”
“So,” he says dryly, “not totally fine, then.”
“I mean, I don’t think I hit it very hard,” you try, but Remus is already removing your makeshift ice pack, tilting your head so he can see the forming bump on the side.
“Why don’t you tell us everything that happened,” James suggests, giving your knee a teasing squeeze as Sirius moves beside Remus to jockey for a view of your head, “just so we have all the facts.”
“I was carrying a tray to my table,” you explain, wincing as Remus passes a thumb over your wound with a murmured apology, “and I started to feel weird, like wobbly and out of it. I thought it might pass, but—” Sirius sends you a horrified look and your voice quiets, chastened. “I know I probably should have sat down or something, but I was working, you know? Anyway, then I guess I fell and smacked my head on the floor. When I woke up, the food was everywhere,” you recall with a sigh. Your coworkers are going to be less than pleased with you for leaving them that mess to clean up.
“Is that what this is?” James asks, mouth tilting upward as he looks at the mess of your uniform.
You nod solemnly. “Alfredo sauce.”
“Did you land on any glass or anything?” Sirius asks you. He and Remus have evidently finished with their inspection of your head, though Remus’ hand still cups the back of your neck protectively.
“No, all the plates that ended up breaking went the other way.”
“You thinking concussion?” James asks him.
“No,” you say, at the same time as Sirius says, “Maybe.”
Sirius fixes you with an odd look, half remonstrance and half endearment. “Sorry, doll, but you’re not exactly an expert. You very stubbornly did your job when you should have looked after yourself” —he squints his eyes at you playfully, giving your shoulder a mean squeeze— “now let us do ours for a bit, yeah?”
You purse your lips in malcontent, but James is already clicking on his pen light, shining it in your eyes. “Look straight ahead for me, angel?”
“S’not a big deal,” you mutter one last time in quiet mutiny, doing as he says. All three boys ignore you.
James clicks the light off. “Alright, do you know the date?”
“No.”
“How about the year?” he asks patiently. You tell him, and he goes on to ask you the month and the day of the week.
“Good.” He rewards you with a smile when you answer correctly. “Okay, do you feel nauseous or dizzy at all, darling?”
When he looks at you like that? A little, but that’s probably unrelated. “No,” you tell him.
“Headache?” Remus asks you.
“I mean, only here.” You lay your palm over the bump to indicate it, but wince when it hurts worse than you expected. Sirius coos, taking your hand in his to prevent you doing yourself further harm. “Not on, like, the inside.”
“Okay, that’s what I meant,” Remus reassures you. “What about why you fainted, love? Do you have any idea what happened?”
You bite the inside of your lip, thinking. “Not really.” Your head had just hurt a bit, then you’d felt woozy, and then you’d fallen and it had hurt a lot worse.
“Did you have lunch before you came to work?” James prompts.
You nod.
“What did you have?”
You tell him. He seems tentatively satisfied.
“And for breakfast? What about for dinner last night?”
You think back, telling him what you can remember, and he nods, looking somewhat bemused.
“Did you have a drink with any of that?” Remus asks.
You think harder. Had you? The realization must show on your face, because Sirius tuts.
“There it is,” he says knowingly. “When was the last time you had water, doll?”
“I…I don’t remember. I had coffee yesterday—”
They all groan. James starts laughing soon after, patting you on the thigh at your timid expression.
“It’s okay, sweetheart, just drink plenty of water and then go home to rest, alright? You might feel shaky for a bit, so don’t get in your car to drive until you’re feeling better. Rem, do we have some water bottles in the van?”
“Yeah.” Remus stands, palm landing affectionately on your head as he passes behind you to climb into the back of the ambulance.
“Don’t worry,” you tell James, exhaustion seeping into your voice, “I won’t be driving for a while yet. My shift doesn’t end until six.”
Contrary to your intentions, some of the relief saps from James’ countenance. “You’re still planning on working?”
Uh, duh. Does he think your rent is going to pay itself? “I mean,” you say, trying to appear somewhat patient, “yeah.”
“Well, go ahead and get that out of your head right now,” Sirius nearly laughs. “There’s no way that’s happening today, sweetness.”
“What’s not happening?” Remus asks, uncapping a water bottle before passing it to you.
“She thinks she’s going back to work,” Sirius says wryly.
Remus looks at you, appalled. You only shrug, sipping at your water.
“You can’t work after a fainting spell like that. Especially not as dehydrated as you are—your body needs rest.” He shakes his head at you. “You can either get it at home or come with us to the hospital.”
You roll your eyes, re-capping the half-drained water bottle. “That’s so dramatic.”
“No, I’m the dramatic,” Sirius corrects you. “Remus is the reasonable one, which is how you know he’s right. Those are your options, dollface.”
You huff. “Fine, then can one of you go tell my manager that? I don’t want to be blamed for skipping the rest of my shift.”
“You’re not skipping anything,” Sirius says, standing. “I’ll go, I’ve got some things to say to him anyway.” He cracks his knuckles, and you look to James in alarm.
He leaps up, catching up to Sirius in a few long strides and nudging him back towards you. “I’ve got it, Pads. Why don’t you make sure she finishes that water bottle?”
“Fine.” Sirius stomps his way back to you. “But make him answer for sending her outside to sit on the curb.”
“Please don’t!” you call after James.
Sirius’ gaze narrows, flicking between you and the water bottle beside you expectantly. “Drink.”
“Fine, sheesh.” You pick it up and twist off the cap. Remus chuckles, picking up your half-melted bag of ice to hold it against your head for you. “Isn’t it, like, your job to be nice to people when they’re injured?”
“I thought you weren’t injured?” Remus hums. You shoot him a look that’s meant to be intimidating, but his lips twitch upwards. “Relax, love, we’re just worried about you.”
Well, it’s hard to be mad at that. “Thanks,” you say quietly.
Sirius resumes his crouch in front of you, taking one of your knees in each hand and squeezing lightly. “We get off in a few hours,” he says. “Would it be okay if we came by for dinner? We can bring takeout or something.”
You lower the water bottle, looking at him with interest. Your day has suddenly taken a positive turn. “Yeah, that sounds great.”
“Good.” He smiles, leaning forward to kiss you on the cheek. “Now be a good girl and finish your water.”
You flush instantly, and Remus’ head swivels as if to make sure no one is nearby to have heard him. “Sirius,” you hiss, “I’m at work!”
His grin sharpens. “Not anymore, you’re not.”

Cherry Bomb (pt. 3)
Remus Lupin x f!reader, James Potter x f!reader (mentioned), Sirius Black x f!reader (mentioned)
Tumblr media
warnings: smut, p in v, i think it’s protected atp idk, fingering, underage smoking, very dom remus, long af but omg i’m so in love with it
summary: the last part of your plan is far harder to achieve than the first two and it’s far more complicated.
word count: 5k
a/n: ahhh here’s the last part (i think?) anyway sorry it’s long i got carried away but ugh i love remus so much. sorry if my characterization is off, ever since atyd i see him as sarcastic. yeah i love this, hope you guys do too :)
~~~
Out of all the marauders, Remus Lupin was by far the most liked. He was quiet, but not invisible. He was the most sensible out of all the boys and the most polite. Though he did tend to be witty and sarcastic, he was kind at heart. But he was also the hardest one to get close to. Quiet, reserved, beautiful Remus with his nose always stuck in a book. There was always something about him that made girls fall fast. But that was the thing. It was always so easy to fall in love with him. So, if one ever wanted to shag Remus Lupin, they would have to deal with the consequences of loving him. Because he was nothing like his mates. He didn’t shag just anyone. No. He had to choose you. And to be chosen by him was the biggest accomplishment and the biggest curse. Because once you get him, you will never want to let him go.
~~~
Avoiding two of the marauders is nearly impossible. Each corner you turn it seems you run into one of them, or both. And each time their eyes find you they show the same expressions. Confusion. Frustration. Perhaps even a bit of sadness. You debate throwing away the entire plan daily. It’s unfair, the way you’re playing with their minds. But the lingering knowledge that you’re so close to completing the plan entirely keeps you going. Because surely, all your hurt feelings can’t be for nothing.
Right?
You speak to James only once after your shag in the broom closet. It’s a week or two after, he’s been chasing you around, and you’ve been avoiding him. But you decide he deserves some amount of closure. Sweet, lovely, innocent James. You find him alone in the library and take your opportunity. The way he smiles when he sees you approaching makes your heart ache terribly and regret fills your stomach.
“Y/n I’ve been trying to catch you, how are you?” He asks once you’re close enough to hear his quiet tone.
He looks so happy, you feel sick.
“Yeah, I just you know… haven’t been feeling too great,” you lie.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Sit if you’d like, I’ve been attempting to study for the potions test. Aren’t you good with potions? Could you help me possibly?”
You inhale deeply. You could really use a cigarette right now. You’ve broken things off with guys before, but this feels different. In the other cases, you’ve had reasons. For this case though, you have none. James is innocent in all of this. It makes you nauseous.
“Listen, James,” you start, your voice soft. “What happened was great, I enjoyed it a lot, but it was a mistake. I like you, you’re very sweet, but I don’t think we should do anything else.”
Watching his face fall is by far the most horrid sight you’ve ever seen. All the happiness fades fast and leaves behind a bitter frown. He looks down at his papers, toying with his quill.
“I see…” He looks back up, a fake smile on his lips. “That’s alright, it was fun. I’m not really looking for anything serious like that either, so I understand.”
You swallow hard. “I really do like you James, believe me, but it’s just not the right time for this.”
“Don’t worry about it, it’s fine.”
“And...” You pause for a second. “You won’t tell anyone?”
He nods. “Not a soul. This will be our little secret.”
“Thank you.”
“Of course.”
“Well then, I’ll let you get back to your potions. Thanks for... everything.” You give him one last smile before turning on your heels and making your way out of the library.
You almost put an end to it right then and there, but then you see the tallest marauder walking down the hall with Peter. His hands are in his pockets, his book bag slung over one of his shoulders. For a split second his eyes meet yours as the two of you pass each other.
He gives you a small awkward smile.
Fuck.
~~~
To catch Remus Lupin alone you must take the risk of losing your house some points. You wait a week before making your move, for safety. After your conversation with James, the only marauder to pay attention to you is Sirius. He’s still set on telling everyone that the two of you shagged, but thankfully, not many people believe him. Not even his best mates.
It’s a very quiet night when you sneak out after curfew. A night you know one particular prefect is doing rounds on his own. You wander through the castle quietly, making sure to avoid the areas in which teachers lurk. Goosebumps form on your skin, you should’ve worn more than a tee-shirt and sweatpants, but you needed to look casual.
As you’re about to turn a corner, you spot Filch. Panic surfaces inside you and you quickly turn around and run as quietly as you can down the hall. You take a few turns and just as you’re about to relax, you hear a voice.
“It’s past curfew, what are you doing out here?”
Your heart stops for a completely different reason.
It’s him.
You turn to face him and shyly smile. You watch his face change as he recognizes you.
“Oh, it’s you.” He narrows his eyes. “Off to shag my mate again, are you?”
“I never shagged him,” you reply, crossing your arms over your chest. “And I’m out for a completely different reason.”
“What reason is that?”
You shrug. “Personal reason.”
“Ah well, hope it was worth losing your dear Ravenclaws ten points. Get back to your dorm before someone else catches you,” he says, turning away from you.
You watch as he walks down the hall, not giving you another thought. You would’ve replied sarcastically if you could speak for that matter. Once he disappears, all you can do is shamefully make your way back to your house's common room, now understanding why James likes being a chaser.
~~~
Some time passes before you get Remus alone. Each time you see him during the day, he’s accompanied by one of the marauders and you can’t sneak out during his rounds again because your fellow Ravenclaws were not pleased. You’re smoking behind the castle when you happen to finally catch him walking alone. You immediately take your chance.
“Lupin!” You call out to him. You get up from the bench you were sitting on and walk to him.
Thankfully, he stops walking and turns back to face you. “Y/l/n. Is there something I can help you with?”
You can tell from the tone of his voice he’s trying to be polite; it makes your insides warm.
“Yeah, actually there is. I was wondering if you could help me with my transfiguration essay. You’re the smartest lad in the year,” you answer, taking a small puff of your cigarette. You hold it up to offer him a hit, he shakes his head.
“Those things will kill you,” he says. “But I suppose I can help a bit. I assume you’re free right now?”
“Yes, I am.”
“Let me take a look.”
A smirk forms on your lips, and you let out a breath of smoke purposely into his face. “Take a girl to dinner first.”
He swats the air, fanning away the smoke. “Are you going to show me or not? I have things to take care of.”
“Sorry.” You hate the way your face burns. “Come see.”
The two of you make your way to the bench and you take out your essay. Truthfully, you are already finished with it, and you think your work is good. But much to your dismay, only a few seconds after he starts reading it, Remus takes out a muggle pen and begins crossing things off.
“What’s wrong?”
“Your spelling is shit, and you’ve contradicted your argument at least twice already and I’m only on the second paragraph,” he answers, his eyes glued to the paper. “Maybe if you spent more time studying than shagging and smoking, you’d have this information down. We reviewed it a few weeks ago.”
You scoff. “I have not been shagging.”
“Sure,” he mumbles, crossing off another sentence.
“I swear, Sirius is mistaken.” You lie.
He turns his head, his green eyes meeting yours. “Who said I was referring to Sirius?”
Your breath catches in your throat, and you cough due to the smoke. Is he talking about James? Your heart rate increases, and anxiety flows throughout your body. Did James tell? You catch your breath, your eyes meeting his again. He looks unamused.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I haven’t shagged anyone in months, not that it’s your business,” you say.
“You should really practice more on your lying; you are shit at it.” He hands your essay back to you and stands. “I left a few notes of some things you should change, but my biggest suggestion is that you reread the textbook, and perhaps find some more... enticing quotes. Is that all then? Like I said, I’ve got some other business to tend to.”
For a few seconds, all you can do is stare up at him, your mouth hung open ever so slightly. You previously thought Remus Lupin to be a timid boy who went along with the rest of the marauders because he couldn’t say no. Now though, you realize all those assumptions are wrong. He’s quiet, but not timid.
“What do you know?” You question.
“Quite a lot, thanks for the chat.”
Before you can even think of a response, he’s already walking away. You can’t let him slip away again.
“I’ll get it out of you Remus Lupin if it’s the last thing I do!”
He turns his head over his shoulder and chuckles, the sound sending warmth straight to your core. “We’ll see.”
And just like that, he’s gone, and you’re left flustered with rosy cheeks.
You did save the best for last.
~~~
Falling for the third marauder is easier than anything. Almost unconsciously, you begin to fail classes so that he can help you with work, you learn his route around the castle to see him at least once a day, and you sneak around the castle some nights, but he always ends up finding you somehow.
One night, a little over a month after you’ve started your game, something unexpected happens. You’re out after curfew once again, tiptoeing around the castle to see where the tallest prefect is when he appears from behind you. Like usual, he crosses his arms and clears his throat, making you quickly spin on your heels to face him. How does he always sneak up on you?
“How many times am I going to catch you before you start following the rules? I’m sure your fellow Ravenclaws aren’t too pleased with you,” he says. You look up at him, a genuine blush on your face. He narrows his eyes. “You want me to catch you, don’t you?”
“What?”
“You heard me.”
You look away nervously. The plan never involved gaining real feelings for any of the marauders, yet here you were. Standing in your sleepwear after curfew with your heart racing in your chest at the mere sight of one of them. Though you try to deny it, you know deep down you’re crushing hard, and you know it will only end badly.
“I uh... I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m just on a little stroll back from a smoke that’s all,” you reply after a few seconds, your hands anxiously fiddling with one another.
He rolls his eyes. “Listen, I don’t know what your objective is or has been, but whatever it is it’s not going to happen.”
“Remus I-”
“Sirius, I understand, he would sleep with the giant squid if it had tits. But James, really? He may be more of an... active person than myself but he has far more feelings than you think.” He takes a step forward; he towers over you. You swear you can’t breathe. “You may have fooled them, but you don’t fool me. I can see right through you y/l/n and you’re sick.”
You move backward; he follows each step. “You... you don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t I?”
Your back hits a wall, panic rises in you. Your eyes fall to his hands, and a bit of relief washes over you when you see he’s not holding his wand. But then another thought takes over. Is he going to hit you? When you look back up, he’s only inches away from you, his hazel eyes piercing down into yours. He places one of his hands on the wall next to your head. You can hear your heartbeat in your ears.
“I didn’t mean to cause any trouble, really. I’m sorry,” you mumble, your words genuine.
“So, what was your goal then? To shag all of us and take your pick of who’s best? Peter would’ve been far easier than James you know,” he replies.
“It was just a stupid idea, I don’t know. It didn’t mean anything deeper I swear.” You’re rambling now, the threat of tears evident in the burning of your eyes. You try your hardest to keep any from falling, you can’t cry in front of Remus.
He sighs. “You’re lucky Sirius is oblivious, and James is trusting. If they knew the truth, you’d have the whole school against you.”
“Wait, they don’t know?”
He rolls his eyes again. “Of course not. If they knew you’d be getting hexed almost all day every day.”
“Then how do you know?”
“I notice a lot more than people think. Did you honestly think no one saw you go up to our dorm with Sirius that night at the party? And did you honestly think none of us would notice James’s change in attitude? You think you know more than you actually do,” he explains.
For a few seconds, the two of you only stare at each other. You don’t know what to think. You should’ve known this would happen. Someone was going to catch on. You wish you had never done it. Any of it. Everything would be so much simpler if you’d simply stayed the quiet Ravenclaw girl who never interacted with the marauders. But you can’t go back, no matter how much you wish you could. You can only make it right moving forward.
“I’m sorry, truly Remus.” There’s so much more you want to say, but you can’t. You can’t fathom the words.
“If you’re truly sorry, stop. I won’t be the next pawn in your game,” he says, his voice slightly lower than before. You watch the way his eyes shift, the way he licks his lips, and moves his head down so he’s almost eye level with you. Your breath catches in your throat. “I suppose I pity you though because you and I both know this has become more than a game to you now.”
You turn your head, but he grabs your chin and forces you to look him in the eye.
“You fancy me.”
“I-”
“Don’t try to deny it. Like I said, I can see right through you.”
“It doesn’t matter. It’s over now,” you whisper, a tear nearly escaping one of your eyes.
He inhales deeply and you notice his eyes trail over your body for a moment before meeting your gaze again. “You’re right. It is over now.”
He lets go of you and backs away and for the first time since encountering him tonight, you feel like you can breathe normally. You stay on the wall, silently catching your breath as he walks further down the hall. But just before he’s about to turn a corner, he looks back at you.
“Or perhaps it’s simply my turn to play with you. Oh, and that’s twenty points from Ravenclaw. Goodnight.”
You fall asleep with his words burning in the back of your mind, and an ache between your thighs.
~~~
After that night, everything is different. You try to avoid them all and go back to the way things were before, you really do. You scribble out the page in your journal with their names, you keep your head down in the halls, and you skip the parties they host. It’s Remus who’s begun playing. Somehow, he continues knowing where you are and appears at random times. Whether you’re studying in the library, and he just so happens to need a book from that section, or you’re out by the lake with your friends and he walks by. You know it’s intentional, but it still manages to leave you hot and bothered each time.
“I thought you said the plan was off?” Your friend says one particular day when the two of you are eating lunch.
You look at her, confused. “It is.”
“Then why has Lupin been staring at you this whole meal?”
Instinctively, you look across the Great Hall and immediately catch those all-too-familiar hazel eyes. He doesn’t look away, at least, not for a moment. He stares at you with no shame, and even from the distance you can sense something different from the look in his eyes. Before you can fully figure it out though, he turns his attention back to the other three marauders.
“Did you shag him?” Your friend asks.
“No, I told you what happened,” you answer, focusing your attention back on the food on your plate. “I wish he’d stop.”
Your friend laughs. “Nah, you don’t.”
You hate how she’s right.
~~~
Nearly two months have passed when you finally confront Remus.
You’re sitting in the astronomy tower, a cigarette between your lips, and a scowl on your face. You can’t take it any longer. Wasn’t he the one who told you off? Wasn’t he the one who told you to stop the games? He was. You know it. So, why has he kept it going? He had said that it was his turn, but that was many weeks ago. How long did he plan to keep this going? You let out a cloud of smoke, frustration taking over your body at the thoughts.
“How many points shall I take off tonight? Forty? Fifty?” You feel him sit next to you, but you refuse to look at him. “You haven’t been out after dark in a while though, I’ll give you that.”
“What do you want Lupin?” You ask, annoyed.
He chuckles. “What do any of us want really?”
You look at him with a straight face, hating the way butterflies take over your stomach at the sight of him so close to you. Despite the scars on his face, you find him more beautiful than any boy. More than James, even more than Sirius. There is something so extraordinary about Remus you can’t explain. You wish it would go away.
“Why can’t you leave me alone?” You question after taking another drag from the cigarette.
“I haven’t spoken to you in over a month, I don’t know what-”
“Yes, you know what I mean.” You cut him off. You exhale your last breath of smoke and throw the cigarette off the tower. “I’m trying to leave this all in the past and move on like you said but you’ve made it quite difficult.”
“Seems you don’t like the taste of your medicine love. It’s hard, isn’t it? Trying to avoid someone when they always seem to end up exactly where you are. It gets rather annoying, doesn’t it? Especially when you secretly enjoy it,” he replies.
Your eyes meet again and that familiar trouble to breathe begins. He’s looking at you in a way you don’t know how to feel about. It’s not like Sirius’s drunken stare or James’s needy stare. No. This one, though the same lustful, is far deeper.
“Just tell me what you want Remus,” you eventually say, your voice lower than before. “What do you want?”
“I want you to get out of my head. I want to look at you and feel nothing. I want everything to go back to how it was before you decided to fuck with my friends and me,” he answers.
You swear your heart stops for a few beats. “Then let all of that happen.”
“You think I haven’t tried?”
You stay silent.
“I never wanted this, any of it.”
You look down. “I know.”
“Don’t do that.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Merlin, I give up, you win y/n. You bloody win.”
You’re about to ask what he exactly means, but he acts faster. In the blink of an eye, his lips are on yours. You can’t grasp it at first. You’re kissing Remus Lupin; Remus Lupin is kissing you. The boy who unintentionally caught your heart is kissing you. It’s unbelievable, it’s undeniable, and it’s far from underrated. You don’t hesitate to kiss him back, even through your initial shock.
His hands cup your cheeks, his thumbs stroke your skin ever so gently. You wrap your arms around his neck, one of your hands toying with the hair on the back of his head. He’s a good kisser, very good. That’s why when he parts your lips, you protest.
“Why did you-”
“If we’re going to do this, you have to promise me it’s not a game anymore y/n.”
Your head is fuzzy from how intently he’s looking at you. “I promise Remus, that game has been over for a while.”
“You swear it?”
“I do. Do you?”
“Of course.” There are a few seconds of silence before he sighs, one of his fingers now playing with a piece of your hair. “We have to keep it secret.”
“I know,” you say.
He brushes the piece of hair behind your ear, the intimate gesture sending tingles throughout your body. “I don’t want it to be a quick shag either,” he adds.
“What do you want it to be then?”
The smile he gives you makes your stomach flip. “More.”
~~~
More from Remus Lupin is everything.
After that night, the two of you begin something you don’t exactly know how to name. You would call it a secret relationship, but the thought of that gives you a stomachache. The two of you don’t interact during the day, at least not where anyone else can see. He passes you in the hall as if you’re a stranger, but the second he catches you around a corner in an empty hallway he showers you with affection. And at night when the two of you sneak off, he touches you in ways you never thought possible.
He shows you so many new places in the castle you never knew of. Secret passages, secret rooms, all of it. You never question how he knows all of it, you only hold his hand tighter as he guides you. When he suggests a more secluded place to meet, you of course agree. Though, you never expect that place to be the shrieking shack.
“There’s no way you’re serious,” you say. The two of you are outside, near the Whomping Willow. You make sure to stay out of its reach. “The shrieking shack? That place is haunted, the ghosts don’t even go there because of how scary it is.”
“Obviously I’m not Sirius love, you only shagged him once,” he sarcastically replies, rolling his eyes to emphasize his joke.
“Remus.”
“The shrieking shack is not haunted, believe me, that’s only a silly rumor made so that people won’t go to it. Me, James, Sirius, and Peter go all the time. It has a bed, and given our activities I say we utilize that,” he explains.
You bite your lip. “Are you positive?”
He moves a bit closer to you and places a hand on your shoulder, leaning down so he’s at eye level with you. “You know I would never let anything hurt you, you can trust me.”
“Alright, but how are we supposed to get there so late? It’s in Hogsmeade,” you question.
He chuckles. “Haven’t you learned by now the marauders have many secret ways?”
“Yes, but we’re not in the castle right now how are we to- Remus don’t go any closer you’re going to get hurt you-” You pause, your mouth hung open as you watch the whomping willow go completely still. “How did you...”
“Secrets love, now come, it’s getting late,” he says, holding a hand out to you.
You don’t hesitate to take his hand and follow him into the tree, nothing else is said.
Surprisingly, the walk isn’t too long. It’s dark, gloomy, and a bit cold, but it’s not terrible. At the end of the tunnel, there’s a door. Something in Remus’s posture shifts, almost as if he’s anxious. You squeeze his hand to try to reassure him of whatever he needs, he gives you a smile through the dark that makes your cheeks warm.
The shrieking shack isn’t big, not at all. It’s a simple building with a few rooms and a short staircase. Remus brings the two of you to what you presume is the bedroom though the only indicator is a mattress, blanket, and pillow on the floor. There’s a small fireplace in the room as well, shockingly full of wood and some candles placed near the mattress. The entire shack is creaky and dusty, but you don’t mind. As long as there’s no ghosts, it’s perfect. Remus lets go of your hand and moves to start a fire. You sit down on the mattress and light the candles around.
“What do you guys use this place for?” You ask.
“It’s just a place we come to sometimes when we don’t want to be around other people,” he answers. His back is still turned to you, you could stare at it all day. “Sirius was the first one to discover it wasn’t haunted.”
“Oh? How did he find that out?”
“He’s always been the bravest out of us, though I think he just wanted another rule to break.”
You chuckle. “That sounds like him.”
He finally stands and turns to face you, a bright fire burning behind him. “You would know, you shagged him.”
“Oh, shut up,” you say as you slide off your shoes.
He begins to walk to you. “Can I ask you a question?”
“This context doesn’t seem good, but yes you can,” you reply.
“Be completely honest, out of the three of us, who’s the best?”
He’s standing right in front of you now. You look up at him, a coy smile on your lips, and begin to untie his shoelaces. “You are of course.”
“For some reason, I think your answer is biased,” he says with a laugh.
You trail your hands up his legs after he steps out of his sneakers, stopping once you reach his belt buckle. It quickly gets undone. “What would make you say that?”
He laughs again. “Just a hunch I guess.”
Your moment of control is taken fast when he pushes you down on the mattress, his lips attacking yours. It isn’t a lie though; he is the best. Unlike with Sirius and James, you share such deeper feelings for Remus. Each time he touches you, you practically melt into the palm of his hand. He’s caring. He’s gentle, but rough when need be. Though the two of you argue sometimes, it always is resolved with a hug, a kiss, or a shag. So, in the simplest of words, Remus Lupin is the perfect boy in every way.
All your clothes are discarded quickly, his too. He kisses you deeply as he uses his fingers on you. Sometimes you wonder where he’s learned all his skills from, but even thinking about him with another girl has started to make your stomach hurt. Instead, you focus on how good two of his fingers feel inside you. They’re so long, so slender. More than once in class you’ve been completely distracted by the sight of his hands, specifically his fingers, even more specifically when he’s wearing rings on them. They feel just as you imagine, extraordinary.
When you cum, you’re moaning a mess into his mouth, your body shaking. He milks every last bit of your orgasm out of you before stopping. You watch through heavy lids as he sucks his fingers clean of your cum, the sight makes you audibly groan.
“I need you,” you whisper, running one of your hands through his hair.
“Do you?” There’s something in the tone of his voice mixed with the way he’s looking at you that makes your heart ache in your chest.
You nod. “In so many ways Rem.”
“Promise?”
“Always.”
He moves inside you slowly at first, but he finds a decent pace after a few minutes. Because of his height, you weren’t at all surprised at the size of his cock. It’s by far the biggest you’ve ever encountered and the best. Though sometimes it leaves you sore, it always leaves you in a daze of dopamine.
Remus struggles to keep his head at your level as he fucks you. He presses soft kisses to your forehead, one of his hands intertwined with yours. You’ve never felt such intimacy in your life, it almost makes tears form in your eyes.
“Tell me you’re mine,” he says, his voice shaky. “Even if it’s not true.”
“I’m yours, Rem, completely,” you reply. His hips meet yours harder, and you moan. “All yours I’m all yours.”
Neither of you lasts much longer than that.
In the aftermath as the two of you hold each other, he rests his head on your chest. You run your fingers through his hair softly, the sound of his breathing like music to your ears. It’s at this moment you realize just how deeply you care for him. You hate what you did with that silly plan, but you don’t think you’d change it. If ending up in this moment only came from the plan, you’d do it over a million times.
“Is this real?” Remus asks after some time.
You sigh and press a kiss to the top of his head. “Yes. This is real.”
And so, it is.

Sirius’s attitude towards Peter
This is going to be a bit controversial because in the fandom, it's commonly believed that Sirius loved Peter. People backs this up with two points:
Sirius suggested Peter as the Secret Keeper.
Sirius said he'd die for Peter.
In my view, their relationship was a bit more complicated than just "he loved him." Emotions aren't just about love and hate, there's a lot of grey area in between. But personally, I don't see any evidence that Sirius truly loved or respected Peter.
From what we know in the books, teachers saw Peter like this:
Pettigrew... that fat little boy who was always tagging around after them at Hogwarts?’ said Madam Rosmerta. ‘Hero-worshipped Black and Potter,’ said Professor McGonagall.
For an observant and clever person like McGonagall, the group dynamics aren't a secret. It's exactly what people saw from the outside.
We know for sure that Peter visited the Potters, and Lily worried about him being sad, whereas there's no mention of Remus. In the Order of the Phoenix photo, Peter stands next to James, Lily and Sirius, while Remus is on the other end. So at least during the war, Peter was closer to the Potters than Remus.
Here's what JKR says about their relationship with Peter:
"Pettigrew, who they, in a slightly patronizing way, James and Sirius at least, who they allowed to hang round with them, it turned out that he was a better wizard than they knew. Turned out he was better at hiding secrets than they knew."
And it makes sense. Patronizing. They didn't intend to be friends with Peter at all, it was Remus who felt sorry for him and persuaded James and Sirius to include him.
Remus, always the underdog’s friend, was kind to short and rather slow Peter Pettigrew, a fellow Gryffindor, whom James and Sirius might not have thought worthy of their attention without Remus’s persuasion. Soon, these four became inseparable. (Pottermore)
And what we see in their relationship in reality:
Every time James made a particularly difficult catch, Wormtail gasped and applauded.
‘Put that away, will you,’ said Sirius finally, as James made a fine catch and Wormtail let out a cheer, ‘before Wormtail wets himself with excitement.’
Wormtail turned slightly pink, but James grinned.
Peter's behaviour:
Lupin and Wormtail remained sitting: Lupin was still staring down at his book, though his eyes were not moving and a faint frown line had appeared between his eyebrows; Wormtail was looking from Sirius and James to Snape with a look of avid anticipation on his face.
How can someone like Sirius, who literally hates groveling ("I, a spy for Voldemort? When did I ever sneak around people who were stronger and more powerful than myself?"), respect and love someone who constantly grovels? Was Sirius blind not to see that? Everyone saw it. Remus simply pitied and was kind to Peter ("always the underdog’s friend"), and James loved Peter's adoration. James is the kind of person who really loves attention, and at the same time, he has a pretty black-and-white view of the world, and probably considered Peter a good guy, albeit one he could sometimes make fun of ('How thick are you, Wormtail?' said James impatiently. 'You run round with a werewolf once a month –')
But Sirius didn't need attention, he wasn't an attention-seeker. He could see pretty well who and what everyone was.
Many say that what Sirius says in PoA,he says it after many years of reflection in Azkaban and on emotions. I don’t think so:
‘Lily and James only made you Secret Keeper because I suggest- ed it,’ Black hissed, so venomously that Pettigrew took a step backwards. ‘I thought it was the perfect plan ... a bluff ... Voldemort would be sure to come after me, would never dream they’d use a weak, talentless thing like you ... it must have been the finest moment of your miserable life, telling Voldemort you could hand him the Potters.’
Sirius came up with a bluff. A plan where Voldemort was supposed to come after him, Sirius, not Peter. It wasn't just that Sirius trusted Peter. The point was that Voldemort would NOT come after Peter. Why was he so sure Voldemort wouldn't come after Peter?
Because first of all, I think Sirius really, as he said, believed that Voldemort would never pay attention to Peter. And secondly, Sirius was sure that Peter admired James too much and loved him too much to betray. The one who was always attached to them, the one who always looked up to James in admiration.
Sirius underestimated Peter's "bravery" and cunning.
‘I, a spy for Voldemort? When did I ever sneak around people who were stronger and more powerful than myself? But you, Peter – I’ll never understand why I didn’t see you were the spy from the start. You always liked big friends who’d look after you, didn’t you? It used to be us ... me and Remus ... and James ...’
He always saw that Peter was attached to them as "big friends," but Sirius, being arrogant, underestimated that besides them, Peter could have other "big friends." He was too convinced that Peter idolized James.
At the same time, it's pretty obvious why Sirius didn't trust Remus. He always respected Remus more, considered him smarter and more capable. He couldn't not trust James, James was everything to him, but Remus, who also often disappeared on missions, he could. This distrust shows not so much that they had bad relations, but rather that Sirius considered Remus a more capable and independent person, not just an appendage to James, like Peter.
So why were they considered inseparable and why did Sirius say he would die for Peter?
‘He – he was taking over everywhere!’ gasped Pettigrew. ‘Wh-what was there to be gained by refusing him?’
‘What was there to be gained by fighting the most evil wizard who has ever existed?’ said Black, with a terrible fury in his face. ‘Only innocent lives, Peter!’
‘You don’t understand!’ whined Pettigrew. ‘He would have killed me, Sirius!’
‘THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!’ roared Black. ‘DIED RATHER THAN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!’
Sirius has a very strong sense of honor. For him, dying for those he considers «ours» is a matter of honor. This is a nuance in his character — he may not particularly like or respect someone, but if they're "ours" he'll defend them (even someone like Mundungus).
He considered Peter their friend, he was with them from the first year, James loved Peter, Remus loved Peter, Peter helped in their mischiefs, and Sirius treated Peter okay, as a friend, but without much respect or some unearthly love that fandom usually portrays. He could see what Peter was like, and surely there were tense situations between them, but Sirius wasn't a bad person, and Peter knew how to play the helpless and miserable guy. It's like a patronizing friendship, where you're friends not because you really respect and love the person, but because they're in your group, and you're used to them. It was a childhood friendship. There was no sacred friendship. Children often start friendships simply because they end up in the same bedroom.
And Sirius isn't afraid of death. His death – it's not the worst thing for him. He tells Peter the same thing. Better to die than betray friends. That's his honor—he doesn't understand betrayal. The concept of honor isn't linked to love. For some reason, many think that a person can only decide to die for those they love. But some might choose death because their honor demands it. And if Sirius considered someone a friend, and he did consider Peter a friend, then dying for him is a normal reaction.
JKR on this: "Sirius would have done it. With all his faults and flaws, he has this profound sense of honor, ultimately, and he would rather have died honorably, as he would see it, than live with the dishonor and shame."
And Sirius would die not just for Peter. He told the twins about their father, who was on a mission: "You don't understand - there are things worth dying for!"
So, I don't see any evidence that Sirius truly loved and respected Peter. Did he consider him a friend? Yes, he did. Not personally his own, but their friend. James's friend first and foremost and an integral part of the Marauders. Would he die for him? Yes, of course. It's a matter of honor. But he always saw him as lesser than themselves, not as worthy, not as strong, not as smart, too cowardly, and sly. And it's precisely because of his arrogant attitude that he thought Voldemort would never pay attention to Peter, making Peter the perfect Secret Keeper. Also, in his opinion, Peter would never betray James precisely because Peter supposedly idolized James too much and loved him too much. But "it turned out that he was a better wizard than they knew. Turned out he was better at hiding secrets than they knew."

One bed? ~ S.O.B
{in which you and Sirius share a room in James’s house.}
It was the summer break, and you’d decided to stay at James’s house with Sirius and Remus. However, after graciously greeting fleamont and euphemia, (who ADORED you might I add), you followed James upstairs. He showed you his room first. “Right, so this is my room. Rem, you’ve got the one beside it, aaaand… you two can go in that one!” He grinned, gesturing to you and Sirius. Upon peaking inside, you interrupted his and Sirius’s conversation. “Hey- prongs? There’s just one bed in here.” James locked eyes with Remus, as if they knew something you didn’t. “Yeah, uh… goodnight, guys!” Remus said, before both boys retreated into their assigned rooms. You turned to Sirius. “I’ve always wanted to sleep with you.” Sirius teased, raising an eyebrow playfully. You roll your eyes.
He was the first to flop onto the bed, landing in a jokingly suggestive pose that made you laugh at him. Sirius black was, naturally, a flirt. He began rolling around in the sheets like a madman. “Alright, padfoot, no need to mark your scent on it, now.” You say, smiling at his antics. He scoffs. “You’re next if you’re not careful, pup.” You stop unpacking. “Sorry, pup? That’s you, dickhead.” “Yeah, whatever. Also, you’re letting me play Bowie. I don’t care. I saw that record player first, so you can fuck right off.” Sirius jumps off of the bed and flicks through the ones that lay beside the vinyl player, hissing a drawn-out “yes” when he finds ‘the rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars’ by David Bowie.
A few hours later, with both Remus and James asleep in their rooms, you had started to worry about your sleeping situation. You and Sirius had danced together to the full album twice now, and once it ended, you both fell back onto the bed. He looked at you, and you looked at him. His black locks spilled out like a halo beside him, you couldn’t help the blush creeping up on you. What am I doing? This is my best friend. You scold yourself. “So, who’s taking the bed?” You ask him. “Huh? Well, m’lady, I’m not letting you sleep on the FLOOR. C’mon, mate, youre my best friend, it’d basically be like sleeping in the same bed as James.” He reasons. You bite your lip. It really wouldn’t feel like sleeping in the same bed as James to me. But it didn’t take much convincing for you to lay beside him.
The lights were off now, but you soon noticed how cold it was in the room, you basically forced Sirius to check if the window was shut, but it seemed to be broken, constantly stuck slightly ajar. You huff in frustration, brows furrowing and shoulders quivering. Noticeably, Sirius’s pretty eyes flood with concern. “Oh, my star.” He says. You’re used to him calling you that, but in this situation, it feels different. It feels intimate. He moves to wrap more of the duvet around you, gently pulling you towards himself. “Sirius-“ “my star, it’s fine. We’re best mates. I’m allowed to warm you up.” He excused. You didn’t have it in you to argue with him, and, honestly, you’d always fantasised about him. You lay your head on his shoulder as he hugged you closer to him. He was warm, admittedly. Really warm. You let out a small moan of satisfaction.
At that sound, Sirius tensed beneath you. “Sirius? Are you okay?” You asked him, burrowing closer. “What? Yeah. Mhm.” He mumbled. His usual cocky demeanour had vanished and his usually pale face was flushed. You leant up slightly and noticed a bump in the covers. He was hard. “Sirius…” you started. “I-I’m sorry, mate, I’m really sorry.. I didn’t mean-“ you shut him up with your lips pressed against his soft ones. Frozen at first, you had to work him into it, eventually both of your lips moved in unison. He whimpered as you pulled away. “Let me help you out, Siri.”
Not taking off the covers in fear of bracing the cold, you shuffled to straddle him beneath them. Through his pyjama pants you could tell. He was big. He couldn’t contain his breathy whines as you ground down onto his hard-on. He started to whimper your name. “It’s not funny. Please, just do something.” “Wow. Never thought I’d hear THE Sirius Black beg.” You teased. His lip quivered and you rolled your hips a few more times, testing his limits. Until his long fingers gripped your hips and a deep growl left his throat.
He flipped you over, pinning you to the bed with a desperation you’d never seen in him before. “I need this. I really need you.” he whispered, his eyes dark with lust and… something more serious? Love? He pulled his pants down and pushed your panties to the side. You could feel his tip dragging up and down your opening, and you watched his eyebrows scrunch in self-control. As he eased into you, you were overcome with white-hot pleasure. “Fuck, Siri.. you feel so good… mh..” you whimpered. Through your hazy vision, you admired the way Sirius let out broken, shameless moans as his face contorted in bliss, eyes rolling back every now and then. He picked up his pace, hips rolling slightly faster.
Gripping the sheets either side of you, you bit your lip, trying not to cry out. He felt so fucking good. So good. But Sirius hit that spot. “AGH! FUCK, SIRI!” You cried, grasping his bony, tattooed shoulders. His signature smirk made an appearance. “Oh yeah? You- hah- you like that, my little star? My- nghhh.. oh, my star… mine…” his confidence faded again, turning to complete, raw, primal need. He sped up, his mushroom tip prodding deliciously into your sensitive spot with each thrust. You could hear the sinful wet sounds of where you were connected and the quick, loud snapping of his hips against yours as he lowered his head into the crook of your neck, shamelessly moaning your name and the word “mine” over and over. “Sirius! Oh, Sirius, yes! I’ve got you, I’ve got you, baby!” You hugged his back as Your mouth formed an ‘O’ shape. you felt the most heavenly orgasm you’ve ever had overtake you. During the euphoria, you grabbed a handful of his sweaty black curls as he fucked you, tugging on them hard. At that, Sirius let out the dirtiest, most pornographic groan you’d ever heard, and you felt his hot seed explode into you. His thrusts slowly ceased as he pulled out And collapsed onto you. He was breathing heavy into your neck and your first thought was to stroke his hair and back, praising him.
“That was so fucking great, Sirius. You were so good.” You told him, whispering in his ear and petting him lovingly. Very unlike a best friend would. But, really, what could you two say about what best friends did? You felt him smiling into your collarbone. He murmured your name. “Yes?” “I think I’m in love with you.” He mumbled. You let your expression fade into a satisfied smile. “I’m in love with you, too, Sirius Black.” You said, leaning your cheek on his mop of sweat-ridden coal-black hair. “But we have to get cleaned up.” He groaned in reluctance.
“I’m serious.”
“So am I.”
You couldn’t help but laugh softly at his stupid joke. “Will that ever get old to you?” You asked. “Nope.” He replied.
James now owed Remus 10 galleons.

hello! Congratulations on reaching 150 followers milestone! Really deserved, girly!
Can I get a🍸with Remus Lupin + Lovers Rock? Thank you so much!
hi!! i’m so sorry this took me so long my love, i’ve had the busiest weekend 😭 thank you sm for the request, i hope you like it! <3 (wc: 859) (cw: implied/attempted use of a roofie/date-rape drug)
If you were less drunk, you’d be abashed about flirting so openly in front of Remus, but you’re not. He’s watching you lean into the man’s advances from the bar booth you’re both sitting in, a mean look brewing behind his eyes. You’re praying to god it’s jealousy. At least then he’d feel something for you.
“Real pretty get-up you’ve got on, babe,” the guy is saying, and you’re just sober enough to know he’s staring at your chest as he says it.
“Looks even better on the floor,” you tell him. It’s a cheap response, but he perks up anyway. Remus spins his beer on the sticky booth table, sighing irritably.
The stranger has a silky smooth voice, one that seems to smooth over other, less admirable traits in your mind. He says, “I can make that happen,” and you hear a promise, not a boast. You also don’t notice in his towering over you that he’s tampering with your drink.
Remus isn’t nearly as entranced. He’s on his feet in a second, whipping the man away from you by the collar of his button-up shirt.
“Hey—?”
Cutting him off with a vicious shove, Remus bites, “fuck off out of here. I know what you are.”
You stand then on wobbly legs, approaching the growing scene. Remus was clearly jealous, but you never assumed he was the violent type. He looks ready to crack teeth at this point, and the man still hasn’t left.
“Remus, what—?”
He turns to you with wild eyes, holding up a hand to keep you at bay.
“You stay there,” he says, and the anger he held for the man has ebbed away. He points to your cocktail on the table. “Don’t drink that, okay?”
Blinking, you frown at him. Something about his behavior makes you uneasy, but he’s your friend. You’d trust him over any stranger.
“Hey,” he snaps, demanding your hazy attention. “Did you hear me? Don’t—”
“Don’t drink it.” You nod.
From there all you can do is watch him shred the poor guy apart until Sirius and James finally notice something is wrong from their place at the bar. By then you have a pretty good idea what happened, and you feel sick to your stomach thinking about it.
James keeps you company while Sirius and Remus get the guy thrown out on his ass, and then they both reconvene at your shared booth. Most of the girls have come to see what happened, too, but Remus shooes most everyone away.
“Fucking pig,” Marlene mumbles, petting your hair gently before leaving a small kiss there. She looks to one of the boys, though you’re too busy picking at your nails to know which one. “I can make sure she gets home?”
“I’ve got her,” he replies, and you’d know Remus’ voice anywhere.
Marlene and the other two boys seem to accept this fact easily, though Sirius stops Remus before leaving.
“Go easy, yeah?” he says. “It wasn’t her fault.”
Remus doesn’t reply, but when he takes James’ place beside you his eyes are much calmer than before.
“Hi, dovey.” His hand comes up to rub your back. “You ready to go home?”
Sniffing, you nod slowly, still quite drunk and lethargic. Remus helps you out of the booth, carting you to the door with careful touches.
“It’s okay, Remus,” you assert, feeling more embarrassed by everyone’s worrying than anything now. “You’re not going to hurt me. I’m fine.”
Remus looks down at you with conflict coating his features.
“That was really close, Y/N. I almost didn’t see him do it.”
“But you did,” you correct. “And thank you, by the way.”
He shakes his head. “Don’t thank me. Not for that.”
Pushing the bar door open, he ushers you out into the mild night. It’s not cold, but his arm slung protectively over your shoulders is a relief anyways. Outside the safety of the bar, the man might be lurking somewhere. The thought makes you curl further into Remus, shivering.
“Remus?”
You can tell he’s in the same line of thought as you, because his head is on a swivel, checking behind you periodically. He hums in response to your question.
“If we’re going to my place, would you stay with me? In case he’s following us.”
You’d like to tell yourself the man wouldn’t, but you’re not sure you can put anything past him. Again, Remus appears to think the same.
“‘Course. I'll probably sleep better that way, anyways.”
In your drunken mood, you can’t help the way your heart squeezes at Remus’ doting. It’s a fiery feeling, to be cared for as if you’re an extension of himself, to have witnessed the sharpness of his affection in real time. It’s the barest human decency, but you suspect it was rooted in a much more complex emotion. Or perhaps that’s wishful thinking.
“Okay,” is what you finally say, flagging your thoughts for a later date, when less pressing matters than your safety are on the table. For tonight, it’s enough to let Remus walk you home, and to fall asleep under the warm blanket of his protection.

Prompt 11 - Fake Date
@wolfstarmicrofic May 11, word count 875
“Eugh, my mum keeps asking who I’m bringing to my cousin's wedding!” Remus groaned as he checked the new message on his phone. “She’s getting worse. Ever since Oscar and I broke up it’s all she cares about.” He shook his head and put on a high-pitched voice, imitating Hope. “Reemuss,” He elongated his name like Hope did with her lilting accent. “Remus, why don’t you have a nice boy to bring to Gwen’s wedding? You should go find yourself someone, Remus.” He grimaced. “Like it’s so easy. She met dad in the middle of a forest when that guy jumped out of the trees at her and dad came to her rescue. Knowing my luck, the would be murderer would fall for me.” He leaned his head back and cursed the heavens.
Sirius had sat there patiently listening to Remus grouse. He snatched Remus’s phone from his lap and typed a quick message to Hope.
“There,” He said. “Now you have a date.” He grinned mischievously. Remus paled.
“What did you do?” He picked up his phone and gasped. “Sirius! What the actual?!” His phone pinged as Hope started gushing about how happy she was and how much she’d always loved Sirius. He had to put his phone on silent to shut it up. Sirius had messaged Hope telling her that he was bringing Sirius as his date. Sirius who he’d had a crush on for years and told his mother every little thing about it. Oh gods, this was going to be a disaster.
“It’ll be fine, Remus. I’ll pretend to be your boyfriend for the day, and then we’ll mysteriously break up, none of them will be the wiser, and it'll make your mum happy.” Remus groaned into his hands.
They travelled to Wales the day before the wedding and stayed at Remus’s parents house. Lyall greeted them at the door but then disappeared into his study. He was happy in there and Remus was happy he was in there, to be honest. They’d never quite seemed to quite understand each other and this way was easier, much to Hope’s annoyance.
Hope, on the other hand, wrapped them both in her arms and cooed over Sirius.
“I knew you’d end up together. You’re perfect for each other.” Sirius lapped it up. The only problem they had was Hope put them in Remus’s old bedroom. They hadn’t thought of that when they’d agreed to stay there. There wasn’t even another spare room.
“It’ll be fun,” Sirius beamed. “Like being back at school.”
“We never shared a bed. That was you and James,” Remus reminded him.
“Well, better late than never then, I guess,” Sirius responded. So that was how Remus found himself in bed with Sirius.
Thankfully, morning came quickly and then it was time for the wedding.
Everybody made a fuss about Sirius.
“He’s so handsome Remus,” His grandmother had declared when he’d introduced him. “You ought to put a ring on his finger, so he doesn’t get away,” She’d said loudly. Remus went beet red.
“Nain, you can’t just yell that out!” He hushed her.
“And why not? I want to see some great grand kids before I pop my clogs, and you aren’t getting any younger,”
“Oh my god,” He didn’t know how to handle her apart from with a gin and tonic and the bar wasn’t open yet.
“Don’t you worry, Mrs Howell, I’ll make an honest man out of him.” Sirius said, linking her arm with his and leading her away to her table. He turned and winked at Remus. Remus wished he could turn invisible.
By the end of the wedding, Sirius had won over all of Remus’s family and all of the grooms. In fact, more people knew who Sirius was at the wedding than knew who Remus was.
Remus was glad when they were on their way back to his parents house. It had been a long day. “So,” Sirius asked him. “When are you going to pop the question? Your Nain’s promised me her engagement ring.” He grinned, fighting back a laugh at Remus.
“Oh, haha, Sirius,” Remus rolled his eyes and said no more about the subject.
That night, much to Remus’s surprise, Sirius snuggled under his arm and rested his head on Remus’s chest.
“I had fun today.” Sirius told him with a sleepy voice. “Your family is really nice, and I might just steal your Nain. She was brilliant.” He turned his head to look at Remus. “Thank you for letting me come.” He said quietly.
“You invited yourself. I had nothing to do with it.” Remus huffed.
He closed his eyes hoping Sirius would take the hint. But instead, Sirius pushed up and kissed him. Remus’s eyes shot open, and he stared at Sirius.
“I was serious about that ring, Moony. Whenever you’re ready, I’ll be there.” Remus didn’t know what to say, so he dragged Sirius’s face back to his and kissed him deeper than their first. He melted as Sirius kissed him back. “Took you long enough,” Sirius murmured against his lips. Remus had never been happier. He made a note to send a bottle of champagne to his cousin, because without her this might never have happened.

Family is most important
Summary: Regulus and Y/n faked their deaths in the first wizarding war to run away from everything, they got married and had a daughter. Even though both are slightly sceptical, they send her to Hogwarts, as she wanted it real bad. The moment they find out about the battle of Hogwarts, they rush over there, though are late as Voldermort is already defeated.
She/her pronounce
Just so you know: Sirius, Tonks, Remus and Fred are alive. Y/n was very, wry good friends with the Marauders because she, Peter and James where childhood friends, the daughters name is Aruna.
Warnings: cringe
Some people looked over their shoulder to see what was going on when the doors of the great hall flew open, though minded their business again as the man and woman walked in.
One of these people, was Aruna, who’s eyes widened as she saw her parents, they didn’t have any disguise and looked absolutely distressed.
Her mothers eyes landed on her and she broke out into a run. She felt her mothers arms wrap around her and her dad followed soon after.
Y/n had been worried sick for her daughters well being the moment she heard of the battle. She had dragged Regulus with her and they hurried to the castle where they found Voldemort already defeated.
“Oh, love, I was so scared of your well being! Are you hurt?” Y/n checked her daughter for injustices as the girl assured her mother she was completely fine.
By now, few of her friends watched what was happening in, as they had never met Aruna’s parents. “Did you kill some own?” Regulus smirked slightly and Y/n angrily hit his arm.
“Regulus!” She scolded. “Did you?” She asked the girl worried. “No, I didn’t kill someone, mom, I’m fine, everything is alright.” She pushed her mother away slightly and backed up.
Y/n looked at the people behind her daughter and smiled. “You must be Aruna’s friends.” She said happily and her eyes fell on a girl. “Ah! Luna, lovely to see you dear.” She smiled at the girl from who she had known the mother very well.
“Hi, aunty Y/n, uncle Regulus.” She greeted with a smile. “Mom dad, this is Hermione Granger, Ginny, Ron, Fred and George Weasley, and that’s Neville Longbottom, guys meet my parents- Uhm.” She seemed to scan her brain for quick fake names but the two smiled.
“Y/n and Regulus Black, nice to meet you.” Y/n introduced. “Fred Weasley huh?” Regulus’ eyes had fallen in the boy that they knew to be their daughters boyfriend. “Regulus, be nice.” Y/n quickly scolded.
Aruna looked at them in disbelief and they smiled slightly. “Well, wat is over, Voldermort is defeated and we do not really have to worry about much anymore, we can’t live under fake names forever, besides, Aruna Black sounds way better then Aruna Du Boyz.” Regulus shrugged.
“I don’t want to be rude, but this all is going way to fast for me.” Ginny intervened.
“Reg, Y/n?” They turned around at the familiar voice and where met with Remus Lupin and Sirius Black, next to them stood a boy that was obviously Harry. “You’re alive.” Sirius said looking between the both of them.
“Surprise?” Y/n tried and Regulus gave her an exhausted look. “Let him process for a moment, love.” He said and she smiled sheepishly.
“Yeah, well, my hands are aching and it’s been how long now? Twenty years? I really, really want to hug them!” She whined and before she knew it, she shot forward and hugged Remus tightly and Sirius wend forward and embraced his brother.
“You two have a bunch of explaining to do.” Sirius said and the two of them slightly grinned.

Hello! I was wondering if I could please make a request for dealer!remus with some angst where he has feelings for the reader, but thinks she doesn’t reciprocate so he ghosts her/ stops selling to her and she gets sad because she liked him too. Then maybe they run into each other at a party and she’s getting harassed by some guy so he steps in to help her. If not it’s okay, there’s no worries! I understand you’re probably busy, I just really love your work :)
There’s a pit in your stomach when you go to the dispensary and don’t find Remus. This is second week you’ve come in and he’s not been here.
He also hasn’t been answering to your texts. You try not to take it personally when Sirius gives you five grams and three cookies with no smile or snark.
“Is Remus well?” You ask before you leave and Sirius frowns.
“Yeah, did he tell you different, doll?” You shake your head and will tears not to spring in your eyes.
“I thought that’s why he hasn’t been in or hasn’t responded to my texts.” Before Sirius can say anything you turn your back to him, “Thanks Sirius.”
You don’t see Remus till another three weeks have passed when you let your friends drag you to Marlene’s party.
You’re sitting on the sofa in the living room, a blunt hanging from your lips as your eyes drag around the room.
It’s not that this isn’t your scene, it’s more so that you usually hang with Remus at these things so you don’t really have anything to do now.
Then your eyes land on him. He looks just as good as always, and you smile when you see him- till he turns and goes the opposite direction.
There’s a clamp around your heart at that, you don’t know what you’ve done but Remus seems to be tired or done with you completely.
How fun.
You finish the blunt and start to the kitchen, ready to pillage through Marlene’s cupboards to find hidden crunchie bars or even galaxy chocolates when someone taps your shoulder.
“Hi,” the man that stops you is good looking- objectively- and he seems kind but you’re not in the mood.
“Can i help you?” You ask distractedly, really you just want to find something to munch on.
“I’ve seen you around before at these parties and you just didn’t look like you were enjoying yourself tonight so I thought you might want some company.”
You shrug his hand off your shoulder, “No thanks. M’good on my own.”
It seems like that mustn’t have sit right with the man and his hand clamps around your wrist.
“There’s no need to be prissy about it,” he starts and while you try pulling your wrist from his grip you don’t notice Remus coming up behind you.
“Think you should let ‘er go mate,” his voice is gravelly as he speaks, like he’s smoked too much in recent weeks.
“Who’re you?” The man asks and you roll your eyes, grateful for the distraction because his hold slackens and you can carry on to the kitchen.
“You alright, dove?” Remus asks as he follows behind you. He watches you look around for snacks. Your head doesn’t turn in his direction and Remus feels a punch to his gut at it.
“Perfect. Thanks for getting rid of him, but I’m fine Remus.”
It’s petty, but using his name like that makes him know you’re not happy with him. Honestly, he wouldn’t be happy with himself either.
“Will you look at me for a second?” He murmurs and you scoff.
“I’d rather not. Can we go back to pretending we hate each other? The ghosting was a good move too.”
You don’t sound yourself and Remus can feel the bile churning in his stomach at the realization that he’s been a perfect fool.
“Dove,” your hand slams on the counter.
Finally you turn to face him, “No! You don’t get to stop talking to me for gods know what reason, stop dealing to me alone and then whirl in to stop some grim guy from being a pushy prick and think we’re fine.”
“You wanted to act like we don’t know each other, so go back to it.”
Remus just stands quietly as you seethe and that makes you even more upset.
“The only good thing about your ghosting is is stifled the fucking ridiculous idea I had of you and I being more than friends. So thanks for the reality check Remus, I’ll be going now.”
When you try to walk away he stands in your way and holds your hands. “Wait,” he takes a breath, “I’m sorry. For not talking to you or explaining what was going on. That was proper stupid of me.”
You just stare at him, blank and it’s then Remus notices how you used to look at him. All heart eyes, honey smile and affection.
“Yeah it was but you don’t get to just worm your way back. You were mean and what made it worse is you couldn’t just tell me what I did wrong.”
Remus shakes his head, “You didn’t do anything wrong, dove.” He watches your eyes full with tears.
“That doesn’t make it better, Remus.” When your voice cracks he pulls you into his chest.
“I’m sorry dove, I’m sorry.” It’s all he repeats and Remus can physically feel his heart crack at the fact that he’s made you cry. “God I’ve been stupid. I thought going cold turkey from you would’ve been the best thing to help the fact that I was falling madly in love with you.”
“You could’ve just said something,” you mumble into his shirt and Remus nods. “That was stupid.”
“I’ve already conceded to that point, dove.”
“I’ve not forgiven you yet.” You say to his playfulness and Remus sighs.
His hand cups your cheeks and tips your face upwards. “How can I make it up to you and not be the idiot who made you cry?”
You hum, “I don’t know yet, but I’ll figure something out.”

(remus lupin x potter!reader)

"james! where are we going?" you squeezed his arms, leaving white prints on his skin.
"ow- we're going to meet my friends," james answered, pushing through the crowds in diagon alley.
"i've meet them before," you replied with a huff. you wanted to see them actually, since your pretty crush is a part of his friend group, but you weren't going to show it. playing it cool.
"but you've never met them," he emphasised.
it's true. just sharing smiles and waves when you passes them in the hallway. you were younger than them so your schedules were different.
"so... here's my sister!" james happily introduced you to his friends once you entered a coffee shop where his friends were.
"this is sirius," he pointed to the infamous hogwart's handsome boy with eyes so grey and cool. he wore a black leather jacket with shiny chains decorated within them.
you sent sirius an awkward smile. the thing is, you were scared of meeting them in person, face-to-face. not because they intimidated you, but because you were never really comfortable with the presence of men around you. you knew deep down that james' friends are friendly and fun but that fear doesn't go isolated.
"this is remus," james tilted his head to the boy standing closest to him. he wears a green coloured sweater, even though it's the summer. you noticed this of course, he never took his jumpers off. his hair was the perfect shade of golden blonde, eyes as green as a comet in the sky. he wore a macrame bracelet that his mom probably made for him.
he has a different aura. you actually might be comfortable with him overtime. his gaze so friendly and warm, despite his scruffy exterior. you thought you might actually blush when he sent you the prettiest smile known to men.
"and here's peter," james patted peter's shoulder. he was shorter than all of them. he seemed kind and polite. wearing an outdated cardigan with the edges a bit worn out.
"lovely to see you guys," you chuckled, sending a happy smile. and in return, you got warm greetings back.
"let's go to the quidditch store!" james announced, dragging you and sirius by the arms.
your brother and sirius were in a deep conversation about quidditch that you ncould never understand so you wiggle yourself out of his grasp. preferring to walk behind them along with remus and peter who were having a peaceful time admiring the wizardry architectures.
your pace slowed down, meeting with the two. a part of you also just wanted to be closer to remus. he welcomed you by smiling at you with the kindest eyes. leaving your heart hammering. maybe it was a bad idea to leave james 'cause now you're in this messy situation.
"hey," remus started softly, not wanting to scare you off. "how you're enjoying your summer?"
"hmm good, how about you?" you replied, finding it hard to create a complete sentence.
"it was fine, missing school though. wait- i meant friends- james sirius peter not like i'm a school-lover or anything," remus let out a nervous laugh, tips of his ears turning a shade of red.
"yeah i totally understand that. i miss my friends too," you smiled at him warmly. "did you do anything exciting?" you asked.
"no, not really. you?" he looked so focused at you to the point that you think you might disappear.
"uh i just.. went to the beach s'all, nothing really exciting. i guess when we grow older, the things we find exciting isn't much fun anymore," you shrugged, still keeping your eyes away from him.
a few seconds later, he pulled your shoulder to himself, making you gasp reluctantly. he did that so you wouldn't hit the person who was carrying a trolley. how convenient.
that simple gesture made your heart beaten twice as fast. your long time crush was holding you?
"oh i'm so so sorry," remus pulled his hand away, sending apologetic eyes. "i- i didn't want you to hit him so i pulled you, i'm so sorry!"
"that's okay remus, i appreciate what you did," you smiled softly. "can i call you that?" you asked.
"you can call me anything," he smiled.
you two bonded together overtime. he is becoming your best friend in the whole entire world.
he asks about your day. he opens doors for you. he asks what is your favourite breakfast menu were so he can save it for you. he pulls out chairs for you to sit.
"i've been seeing funky things about you and moony," james said one day.
"what funky things?"
"as if you two were in love...?" james quirked his eyebrows up.
"we're not," you huffed, feeling your ears turning warm.
james looked at you suspiciously, "y'know you can tell anything to me. i won't let remus knows that you're in love with him, promise."
"i'm not!," you defended. though you think you were.
"you are! i can see it. y'know i'm really glad it's remus who you've fallen for because he's a good guy. the only one i'd let you be in a relationship with."
"james stop that. i'm not in love with him, he wouldn't love me anyway."
"oh you're so wrong about that!" james said before he left you to his quidditch practice.
remus did everything right. starting from little things to big gestures like this one.
you were sitting on the grass besides the black lake with a carpet under you. seeing the waters shining and glimmering.
it has been a routine for the both of you to sit here every friday, talking about literally anything and everything.
surrounding you were pretty wild flowers, matching your florally dress that you wore today.
it would be a lie to say that remus wasn't in awe of your appearance. your hair were shining under the warm light of the sunset. everything was perfect today.
"is this okay?" he asked, wrapping both of his arms around you from the back as you stared into the big wide lake. he just wanted to be close to you. to feel you. hug you.
your stomach was flipping, feeling his gentle touch. "yeah, you're so warm," you cuddled into him as he nuzzled his face to your neck.
he swore he's going to ask you to be his girlfriend soon. it's inevitable. he feels it.

          it was a clear, rainy day at hogwarts. the sound of the gryffindor common room fireplace crackling and the quiet chatting of the other students made the common room feel like home. y/n was reading a book on a sofa in the corner of the common room, quietly enjoying her book while sipping on her pumpkin spice latte. the spooky season was coming, and hogwarts felt like the perfect place to be during halloween. just as y/n took another sip of her latte, a tall dark figure stood over her. it was her brother, james potter.
          “what do you want?” y/n shrugged
          “hey! don’t be so crabby! i just want to come check on my younger sister” james explained
          “whatever” y/n rolled her eyes, flicking the page of her book
          “jeez..” james said under his breath, sitting down next to y/n “you going down to the great hall for dinner?”
          “yeah.. how’s sirius and remus?” y/n asked sweetly, shutting her book
          “they’re fine, but remus is- you know.. having trouble..” james worried           “damn. poor remus..” y/n whispered
          y/n and james walked down the halls of hogwarts amongst the other students who were running down to the great hall. they sat down at the gryffindor table with sirius, who was chugging down pumpkin juice, lily, who was politely eating her dinner and making disgusted faces at sirius, and remus. remus’ face had a lot of scars from the past few full moons. when he smelt her bubblegum scented perfume, his head immediately perked up. there she was, his best friend. y/n and james sat down at the table, james directly started chatting up sirius and flirting with lily. y/n and remus sat there for a few minutes, eating their food. suddenly, y/n spoke up.
          “remmy?” y/n sweetly but calmly said
          “hmm..?”
          “when’s the next.. you know..”
          “two days..” he muttered
          “oh.. is there anything i can get for you?” y/n suggested
          “no.. it’s fine..” he sighed deeply
          “alright.. but if there’s anything you need-” y/n got cut off by remus
          “i know.. just go to you first. honestly, y/n. you tell me every time! i don’t need to be reminded, you know that?”
          “okay.. i’m just worried for you. every time you come down to breakfast with fresh scars and-”
          “i’m going to be fine, y/n. stop stressing” he slumped his shoulders down while talking
          y/n was walking down the hallways alone to her next class. potions. not only did she really like the thought of brewing potions, her favourite professor was teaching that subject. professor slughorn. he was a super chill, laid-back teacher and wasn’t as strict as all the other teachers. she entered the classroom and saw everyone already standing at the tables. she goes to stand next to james and remus.
          “hey” words mindlessly came out her mouth
          “shh, the lesson’s starting” remus whispered.
          remus was the type of student to enjoy classes and have good grades so him telling her to shush didn’t matter. this time in class they were brewing amortentia. y/n read her potions book and read all the ingredients she needed, found them on the shelves and added them to her cauldron.
          ashwinder eggs…
 rose thorns..
peppermint..
powdered moonstone..
pearl dust..
and rose petals..
          “miss potter” prof. slughorn said “what - does your amortentia smell like?”
          y/n smelt her amortentia. she smelt baby powder.. gingerbread.. melted chocolate.. and a new book. these smells together was familiar… something she was used to but she couldn’t put her finger on it.
          “i smell.. gingerbread, chocolate, baby powder.. and a new book..” y/n listed slowly, trying to remember who owned the scent in her love potion.
          the next day, y/n was peacefully studying in the library. she was just finishing up her transfiguration essay when she saw a shadow of a boy. she looked behind her and saw remus. usually when someone interrupts her study sessions, she gets really pissed but since it was going to be a full moon that night, she didn’t mind.
          “hey remmy, you all good?”
          “yeah.. i’ve been thinking.. you know how you said if i needed anything for the full moon i could go to you?” remus explained fast. y/n nodded. “well.. i- i.. i want you to stay with me while i’m a werewolf..”
          “uh- are you sure??” y/n asked uncomfortably. remus nodded. y/n thought for a while. should she risk her life to help her best friend? she did promise him she would do anything… “sure.” y/n finally decided.
          “really?” remus said. he hugged y/n “thank you y/n! thank you so much!! this means the world to me!!”
          this hug was different. y/n and remus always hug, but this hug was not a normal hug. he was closing his eyes, smiling, his arms weren’t stiff and it just felt more - from the heart..
          later on that evening, y/n got dressed into her pyjamas and went to the common room to check on james, sirius and peter, who were remus’ dorm mates but slept in the common room whenever it was a full moon.
          “hey guys, how you doing?” y/n said, walking down the girls dormitory stairs and stopping at the doorway. they were playing uno and of course, peter had the most cards with sirius down to one card.
          “we’re fine, aren’t you staying with remus for the night?” sirius said, still focused on the very professional game.
          “yeah, wish me luck. i hope i don’t get eaten.” y/n said playfully, half joking and half truthful.
          “if he does, i’m going to beat the crap out of him.” james said, overprotective for his younger sister
          “james, i’ll be fine. since i’m sleeping in your dorm, can i sleep in your bed?” y/n asked. back at the potter manor, they switch rooms all the time.
          “alright, sleep tight lil’ sis” james said, picking up 4 cards from the pick-up-pile since peter placed down a ‘plus 4’ card.
          y/n walked up the boys dormitory stairs and around the corner to remus’ dorm. she checked a clock nearby. it was 8:47, thirteen minutes to lights out and thirteen minutes until remus turns into a werewolf. she knocked on the door. shirtless remus opened. Once y/n saw this, she immediately blushed.
          “oh- uhm.. hi, remus” y/n said, staring at the floor to avoid the awkwardness.
remus noticed what made her feel uncomfortable. he quickly threw a shirt on.
          “crepes. sorry about that… do come in..” remus said, embarrassed. remus never really swore, so she was used to him saying words instead of the real swear word. y/n walked into the dorm. she saw that they had moved james and peter’s beds against the wall to make space in the middle of the room.
          “wow. so how much longer?” y/n turned around to face him
          “well.. It’s 9:51, so nine more minutes.” remus said, checking an old, grandfather clock in the back of their dorm. remus took his shirt off again and saw y/n blushing.
          “sorry. it’s the only way i don’t rip my shirts apart.” remus explained. she could hear the sincerity in his voice.
          “it’s alright remmy.. are you sure you want me to stay?” y/n said sweetly
          “yes please.. so when i turn into a werewolf, which is in.. four minutes, i’m gonna need you to hide behind sirius’ bed. and if i dont talk for five minutes, get out your wand and yell sectumsempra at me, okay?” remus inquired.
          “sectumsempra? but doesn’t that injure people?” y/n wondered in worry
          “injures people, not werewolves. if i haven’t talked five minutes after i turned into a werewolf, it means the transformation didn’t work well and- nevermind, if it happens, just do it.” remus said seriously. y/n nodded. while waiting, they just chilled together on remus’ bed talking about school and their friends.
          tick.. tick.. tick.. the clock hit 9:00. remus was sitting in the middle of the room and y/n behind sirius’ bed, clutching her wand just in case. she watched as he turned into a werewolf, which was not glamorous. 2 minutes after he finished transforming, y/n was waiting for him to talk. she really did not wish to use the curse.
          “y/n?” a deep voice said suddenly
          “remmy? is that - you?” y/n wondered aloud, coming out from behind the bed
          “yeah, i’m not going crazy like usual” remus’ new deep voice stated
          “really? did you take anything?” y/n said, sitting on sirius’ dog hair bed.
          “well, my aunt gave me this thing called a wolfsbane potion that’s supposed to not turn me into a werewolf.. but she said the first time i try it i should mix it with like- pumpkin juice or water or something…” remus explained
          “well that helps..” y/n says
          down in the common room, james, peter and sirius were still playing uno. sirius lay down on his sleeping bag expecting there to be a pillow but of course, reality is always different from your expectation.
          “crap, i forgot my pillow. do you think i should go up and get my pillow?” sirius suggests.
          “well, if the other gryffindor boys aren’t screaming then it’s probably safe.” peter teased.
          sirius tip-toed up the stairs and quietly opened the dorm room door. he walked into the room, expecting to see a lot of damage in the room. but instead, everything looked normal. sirius scanned around the room for the grey wolf but it was nowhere in sight. sirius walked to his bed to grab his pillow and in the bed across from him, was remus in wolf form, laying on his bed. but he wasn’t alone. y/n was there too, they were in the ‘little spoon big spoon’ cuddling position with remus’ long, fluffy wolf tail wrapped around y/n’s legs tucking her in a sweet embrace. sirius was in complete shock. no one had ever seen remus in this state during a full moon transformation. sirius decided to shrug this feeling off, grabbed his pillow and walked back downstairs to the common room.
          the beautiful, morning sun shone down on y/n, waking her up. she opened her eyes to see remus’ hard, shirtless and human chest. she looked up at remus’ face. he was already awake, reading a book. she was confused, she didn’t remember sleeping in remus’ bed. and especially with him.
          “remmy?” y/n yawned
          “morning y/n” remus whispered sweetly
          “why am i in your bed?” she said, sitting up and leaning on the head board
          “you said that you would sleep in james’ bed but it was full of his dirty laundry, sirius’ bed had a lot of dog hair and you just didn’t want to sleep in peter’s bed so i let you sleep in mine.” remus explained
          “with you?”
          “oh, i was sleeping on the floor but in the middle of the night i heard people talking so i got in bed too” remus said
          “oh.. okay..”
          “y’know, you’re really cute when you’re asleep” remus teased
          “shut up! i probably snored all night!” y/n muttered
          “you didn’t, you were really peaceful”
          “whatever” y/n rolled her eyes, leaning on remus’ shoulder to see what he was reading. it was a book on the wolfsbane potion. “oh, that potion.”
          “yeah, it really helped me last night. if i hadn’t taken it, you’d be dead by now” remus chuckled, half joking and half truthful. y/n laughed along too.
          james, sirius and peter came walking into the dorm to put away their sleeping bags and pillows.
          “had a good sleep?” sirius said, walking over to his bed. james stopped and stared as soon as he entered the doorway.
          “why the f**k are you two in the same bed?” james snapped
          “it’s not what it looks like, we’re best friends, james” y/n says, insulted by what her brother thought she was doing. she got out of remus’ bed and leaned against the bedpost.  “plus, your bed smells horrible! smells worse than when i use the toilet after you at home!” y/n teased
          “shut up!” james said, embarrassed. y/n and sirius laughed.
          “so, hogsmeade weekend! you guys going?” peter asked, plopping himself down on his bed.
          “of course! can’t pass up the chance to go buy lollies! probably even steal some too! you up for it pads?” james asked
          “duh!” sirius playfully added
          “well i better get dressed, meet in the common room?” y/n asked. the marauders nodded and waved y/n goodbye as she walked out of the dorm room.
          after she got dressed, she waited in the common room along with lily and marlene. lily and marlene were fangirling over their halloween costumes while y/n was reading a book on potions. the marauders came walking down the stairs from the boys dormitories. the first thing she noticed was james and sirius, doing idiotic stuff like always, so she just rolled her eyes. behind them was remus, wearing his chaotic academia clothes like always. y/n got up and walked towards him.
          “that sweater is adorable remmy!!” y/n exclaimed. remus slightly blushed.
          “oh.. thanks y/n..” remus said, flustered.
          “no worries! should we go now?” y/n suggested. remus nodded softly.
          they arrived at hogsmeade, they could see the three broomsticks, zonkos joke shop and honeydukes were decorated ready for halloween. they saw james, sirius and peter run into the three broomsticks and lily and marlene ran into a new thrift store. it was just remus and y/n.
          “where do you wanna go?” y/n asked remus
          “there’s a new crystal shop i’d like to visit..” remus uttered softly
          “okay!” y/n said sweetly, grabbing remus’ hand and gently jogging to the crystal shop he was talking about.
          they stopped at a clean shop with a big sign above the entrance that said ‘crystal clear’. y/n knew how much remus liked crystals, especially sparkly ones. on holidays james would visit remus at his house and y/n would tag along. back at remus’ house, he has a whole display cabinet for his crystals. they walked into the store, still hand in hand. y/n looked at remus’ face, which was happier than she had seen in a while. he let go of her hand to look at some cat - shaped crystals. she could tell by the expression on his face that he was in awe. like the feeling when you walk into a shop where they have all the things you love. y/n herself was looking around at the crystals. she saw a wolf - shaped crystal. it was so pretty and it captured the beauty of a real wolf. it reminded her of remus, and the night she spent with him in his wolf form. a tingly feeling crossed her heart. she thought.. was this feeling.. love? no, it couldn’t be, he was her best friend. she went to the counter, where remus had 6 crystals laid on the counter.
          “i can buy that for you if you want” remus said, digging through his pockets.
          “oh.. it’s okay, you don’t need to” y/n smiled
          “please? i owe you, you could have died last night.” remus pleaded. y/n placed the wolf - shaped crystal on the counter along with his crystals replying ‘finee’.
          they were chilling under a tree, eating lollies from honeydukes, chatting and laughing together. gummies, lollipops, bertie bots every flavour beans, chocolate frogs, the list goes on and on.
          “why did you get a wolf crystal?” remus suddenly questioned
          “because it reminds me of my best friend” she half-lied. it did remind her of her best friend, but it also reminded her of her tiny crush on him. but she thought it was too cringy to say, and too risky as well. remus laughed.
          “same reason i got this” remus chuckled, reaching into his hand-painted tote-bag and pulls out a pink, transparent heart crystal. “reminds me of you because you look really good in pink and your heart is nice and kind.. also because… i kinda like you..” remus’ face went pink. he stared at the ground to avoid embarrassment.
          “remmy..” y/n breathed “i keep on trying to deny this feeling too..”
          “y/n, we’re best friends, and we’re extremely close.. do you.. maybe wanna be my girlfriend?” remus asked shyly. y/n’s smile grew wide but didn’t want to be awkward. she quickly thought of how to say ‘yes’ without over - doing it.
          “i’d love to be your girlfriend remmy!” she said, trying to contain her smile.
          that starry night, the marauders all met in the three broomsticks to have some butterbeer or pumpkin juice together. remus and y/n decided not to tell them just yet, after all, they’d only been dating for a few hours. sirius and peter were laughing at embarrassed james who was drinking his butterbeer, ashamed of himself.
          “hey! why are you laughing at james?” y/n asked
          “he tried to ask lily out but got rejected in front of all her friends” sirius teased
          “the poor guy, don’t laugh at him” remus said
          “yeah guys! don’t laugh! it’s not funny!” james said, staring at the floor
          “you guys are just jealous ‘cause you don’t have anyone to ask out” y/n snapped. sirius and peter stopped laughing.
          “and what about you, still single always reading your stupid book in the corner of the common room every night” sirius replied back.
          “at least i’m doing something useful, you probably just stay in your dorm isolating yourself from everyone else!” y/n teased. remus spoke up.
          “plus, pads, she’s not single” remus proudly added
          “oh yeah? who’s she dating then moony?” sirius said, not expecting an answer
          “me”
that word caused silence around the table. y/n’s face went pink and she drank her butterbeer.
          “really?” james said in a fangirling voice. remus nodded proudly.
          “well.. i stand corrected, congrats guys” sirius muttered, embarrassed that he was wrong. he was used to being right all the time.
          “oh shut up sirius, you’re just jealous because no one likes you” y/n bragged playfully. sirius rolled his eyes.
          “whatever” he shrugged his shoulders.

poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 1k words
Your face is burning hot, and you’re hoping no one can tell it’s from how hard you’re working to hold back tears.
“I’m telling you,” James says with a severity that doesn’t suit him, “they’re not good for you. You need to stop hanging around them.”
“You have no idea what you’re talking about.” You wave him off, relieved that your voice comes out as even as it does. “They’re my friends.”
“They don’t fucking act like your friends.” Sirius is looking at you like you’re stupid, and you try not to tremble in the face of his anger. Every muscle in your body had tensed at the first show of frustration, an exasperated huff from Remus nearly ten minutes ago, and it’s only gotten worse since. You know, logically, that this situation doesn’t call for fight-or-flight, but there’s no telling your nervous system that. “They left you drunk and completely alone in the middle of the night. They’re assholes.”
“What, just because you don't like them?” You glower at Sirius from across the room, and James shakes his head disappointedly from the couch. “You don’t get to dictate who I hang out with!”
“You’re completely blind to it!”
“You’re being ridiculous!”
“That’s enough!” Remus roars, and everything else ceases to matter.
Your shoulders hunch in to protect your middle, one hand coming up in front of your face instinctively as your eyes squeeze shut.
It’s only an instant of terror, shooting through your nerves like a lightning strike, and then your heart starts beating again, now at double time. You raise your head to find Remus looking cracked open, mouth parted in silent shock and anguish.
“I’m sorry,” you say quickly, holding up your hands as if to ward off the effects of what you’ve just done. You’re trembling all over. “I’m sorry, that was—I didn’t mean to.”
“Sweetheart.” James starts to reach for you, then stops, wrapping his arms around his torso like he’ll lunge for you if not restrained. His voice is so quiet you can barely hear it over your own heartbeat. “Don’t apologize, please. Are you okay?”
You nod, fighting the urge to shake out the adrenaline still working its way through your body. “Yeah, I’m fine. I didn’t mean to react like that. It wasn’t you guys, I’m sorry.” A traitorous tear skids down your face. You brush it away.
“No.” The word sounds like it’s hooked from inside Remus’ throat and scraped forcibly out. “I shouldn’t have yelled like that. I’m so sorry.” He looks at you, eyes imploring. “Do you wanna sit down?”
“I’m fine,” you say again.
“Angel.” James’ eyebrows come together in pity. “You’re shaking all over. Come sit, we don’t have to fight anymore.”
You blow out a frustrated breath, ignoring the warm wetness on your cheeks as more tears escape. “I’m not—I don’t want to stop fighting just because of this. I feel like I’m manipulating you,” you say, tone edged with bitterness. “I’m not trying to, though. Can we just forget that happened?”
“Hey,” Sirius says, uncharacteristically firm, “stop that.” You’d been afraid to make eye contact with him before, but now you turn to find he’s looking at you like you’ve clawed his heart right out. You’re all the more miserable for it, for the pain you know you’re dredging up for him. You both have experience with raised voices and forceful gesturing. Both harbor old and unreliable notions about what those lead to, instincts you can’t shed. “You can’t manipulate us by accident, understand? You don’t always have control over reactions to things like that. Just…” His forehead creases with a helplessness you recognize. “Just take a breath.”
He waits, eyes boring into yours, until you do. It shakes on the way out, but it feels good.
“Okay. Do you want a hug?”
Your throat clogs so no words can pass through, but you nod, and Sirius steps toward you. His arms come around you slow but solid, feeling out how much you want. You press your face the juncture of his shoulder and his neck, hands clutching at his back, and he tightens his grip on you. Under your hand, you can feel his heart beating almost as desperately as yours.
Sirius doesn’t quite release you as he walks the both of you to the couch, folding you into his lap, but you pull away once your tremors ease. James looks miserable with worry, and you take his hand, squeezing reassuringly. “I didn’t mean to scare you guys,” you say. It’s as close to an apology as you expect they’ll allow you.
“Don’t worry about that,” Remus insists. “I mean it, I shouldn’t have raised my voice that way. Regardless of your history, it was uncalled for, and I’m sorry.”
You give him the best smile you can offer at the moment. “It’s okay, really.”
“You’re not manipulating anyone,” Sirius says, hand still tight around your waist, “but let’s save the rest of that conversation for another time, yeah?”
You nod reluctantly, and James gives Sirius a pleading look until he lets you go, nudging you into James' side. “I’m fine,” you insist again as he presses his lips to the top of your head, rubbing your upper arm. “Don’t worry about me.”
He scoffs lightly, kissing downward to your forehead, the tip of your nose. “I always worry about you. Nothing you can do about that.”
Some of the tension clears from Remus’ countenance as he watches you. “I agree, let’s pick that discussion back up when we all have clearer heads. Dovey, can I make you some tea?”
“I don’t need to be coddled,” you argue as James moves his attentions to your cheek.
“Oh, let him,” Sirius says, rolling his eyes, “it’ll make him feel better. You can make me some tea, Moony.”
“I’ll take some, too,” James says. “If it’ll help, of course. Actually, do we have any biscuits?”
You laugh as Remus sets off happily for the kitchen.

Drowning in the Blue Nile
He sent me “Downtown Lights”
I hadn’t heard it in a while
~~~
“Oi y/n!”
You turned on your heels at the sound of your name being called. Down the hallway, you could see James Potter striding toward you. Despite the bodies of other students that filled the hall, you could see he was holding something in his hand. It looked big, and as he came closer and closer you could see more and more of what it was.
“Hello James, something I can help you with?” You asked once he was close enough to hear your normal tone. You looked down at his hands, you could see what he was holding clearly, it was a record. And from the cover of it, it looked to be a muggle one. “What’s that?”
James smiled his intoxicating smile and held the record up. “Something for you.”
You gasped and one of your hands moved up to cover your mouth. In his hands, he held the latest album of your favorite singer, Heroes by David Bowie. It had come out in October, and every time you searched for it, it was sold out. You traced your eyes over the beautiful shining black and white cover, you were practically speechless.
“How did you- when did you- James...”
“I have my ways, don’t worry about it,” the black-haired boy replied with a small laugh.
“It’s not close enough to be a Christmas gift, and you know my birthday isn’t till spring,” you observed out loud. Your eyes met his again and you blinked. “So, what’s this for?”
He shrugged. “For the past few weeks, I haven’t been the only one to take notice of how much you’ve been playing Bowie in the common room. And I heard you talking to Moony about how you haven’t got the new album yet... so here it is.”
He held it out to you and with delicate hands, you accepted the gift, still amazed. “James, you didn’t have to.”
“I know I didn’t have to, but I wanted to,” he said as he ran a hand through his hair. “I’m surprised Moony didn’t already get it for you.”
“Yeah...” You looked down for a moment before meeting his eyes again, and you smiled. “I don’t know how to thank you.”
“Play it tonight, put it to use. Anyway, I’ve got to run, I’m supposed to be helping Peter with his Charms homework. See you at dinner.”
He gave you another smile before turning and walking back the way he came. You were too preoccupied with the flawless record in your hands to say goodbye. For a split second, you felt your heart flutter with a feeling you knew you shouldn’t have felt. So, you pushed it away and restarted your walk to the dungeons.
You knew better than to let those thoughts linger in the open hallway.
~~~
My boredom’s bone-deep
This cage was once just fine
Am I allowed to cry?
~~~
“James got that for you?”
You had just put the record on, and the sound of David Bowie's voice began to fill the Gryffindor common room. Your cheeks almost hurt from how much you’d been smiling. On one of the couches, your boyfriend Remus sat, his typical book in his lap. You turned and flung yourself on the open spot next to him, nodding your head to the beat of the song.
“Yeah, he gave it to me earlier, isn’t it wonderful?”
Remus nodded; his eyes locked on his book. “It’s definitely something.”
You rolled your eyes. “You like Bowie too last I checked.”
“You play him so much I’m surprised not everyone likes him,” Remus replied. Suddenly he shut his book and turned his head to look at you. For a split second, you felt hope that he was going to just listen with you. But of course, that wasn’t the case. Instead, he rose from the couch. “I can’t concentrate with it playing, I’m going to go read in my dorm.”
“But we barely spend any time together Rem, unless it’s a shag,” you protested, anger suddenly taking you over. “When’s the last time we went on a proper date? Or anything at all? I’m so bored of this.”
Remus as usual, kept his composer and showed no sign of any emotion. “If you’re so bored you’re welcome to leave me.”
“You know that’s not what I want,” you said.
“Then I’m not sure what to tell you. You’re welcome to join me, you know where to find me.”
He left before you could say anything else.
You ran your hands over your face in frustration. How did your relationship come to this? You started dating Remus in fifth year, and it had been the happiest moment of your life. He was your first love, the boy you shared almost all of your firsts with actually. You loved him more than anyone, yet it never seemed to be enough. So, you began to give up.
After all, it was your last year at Hogwarts, after it ended, you’d never have to see him again. Because really, was so much pain worth a moment of happiness? You didn’t believe so anymore.
Instead of following him up to his dorm as you would have the year prior, you simply laid back on the couch and enjoyed the first listen of the album.
~~~
I dream of cracking locks
Throwing my life to the wolves or the ocean rocks
Crashing into him tonight, he’s a paradox
I’m seeing visions, am I bad?
Or mad? Or wise?
~~~
The first time you ever thought of James in the way you knew you shouldn’t be was about a year into your relationship with Remus. After he had begun his distant behavior, his cold manners, and all those awful things. Previously, you had only ever felt attracted to the one Marauder. You saw Peter as a sweet little brother, you saw Sirius as an older annoying brother, and you saw James as well, a friend. That was until one late December night.
You and Remus had one of your arguments and you went outside for a smoke to help with your anxiety. For a few minutes, you sat in silence, the cold air and smoke in your lungs a great distraction from the boiling fears that consumed your mind. You were afraid to lose Remus. More than afraid. So, you inhaled a deep puff of the cigarette to focus on something else.
“You’ll catch a cold out here you know.”
You jumped at the sudden sound of a voice. James sat next to you, and you were perplexed at how he managed to sneak into the spot so quietly. You were also confused as to why he was there in the first place.
“If that’s the case then why are you out here?” You questioned as you let out a cloud of smoke.
He held up his hand and you passed it to him. “I had a... date anyway Filtch was in the corridor, so I ran out here. I doubt he followed, he and Mrs. Norris hate this time of year.” He inhaled a deep breath and passed the cigarette back to you. “Why are you out here?”
“A date? Is that what they call a shag now?” You laughed for a few seconds before your frown resurfaced. “Remus and I had a disagreement. We both said some nasty things, I needed to clear my head.”
“Ah, lovers quarrel. Are you all right? Remus can say some pretty nasty things when he’s mad,” James said as he pushed his glasses back up his nose.
You stared at him in silence for a moment. Never before had you realized how attractive he really was. Sirius was known to be the most attractive of the Marauders, but his crude personality, at least in your opinion, always outshined his natural features. James, however, since the start of sixth year, had matured. That meant he was no longer solely physically attractive; he also had an attractive personality. He was funny, caring, outgoing, and a leader. And of course, he was six feet tall with curly black hair and a perfect smile. Who wouldn’t be attracted to that?
You swallowed away the tingly feeling that shot through your fingers as you passed him the cigarette again.
He’s your boyfriend's best mate, stop thinking like that. You thought to yourself.
But as you watched him exhale another breath of smoke you couldn’t stop yourself from thinking about how his perfect lips would feel against yours.
“I’m sure you two will make up by the end of the night, he really loves you,” he spoke. His eyes caught yours, you could see the small smirk on his all too good-looking lips. “Who wouldn’t fancy a girl like you anyway?”
“A lot of guys actually,” you responded.
His hazel eyes were practically glowing. “They’re blokes. Have you seen yourself y/n? You’re pretty, smart, funny, and you have a fascinating music taste. And anything Remus might’ve said to make you feel less than perfect well... he didn’t mean it. Trust me, that wouldn’t be possible.”
You laughed. “What? Me being less than perfect or Remus meaning what he said?”
“Both,” James answered.
He must’ve felt it too. That pull. You almost considered moving closer to him, but before you could make the decision James stood. You were relieved, the spell was broken. Your senses came back. You shouldn’t have even thought about what it would feel like to kiss James Potter.
“Let’s get back up to the tower, it’s pretty fucking cold,” he said.
You only nodded and threw your cigarette to the ground, crushing it with your sneaker after you stood. “All right.”
The two of you walked back up silently and you were greeted by an apologetic Remus. As he held you in his arms though, all you could think about were the thoughts you had previously thought.
~~~
What if he’s written “mine” on my upper thigh only in my mind?
One slip and falling back into the hedge maze
Oh, what a way to die
My bedsheets are ablaze, I’ve screamed his name
Building up like waves crashing over my grave
~~~
You gripped the red sheets of Remus’s bed so hard your knuckles turned white. Your breathing was heavy and unsteady. You tried to lean your head up to kiss him, but he wasn’t paying attention. It was something you’d grown used to. He liked to fuck you hard, not soft, not lovingly. No. He liked it intensely. You did too, but you also liked being gently taken care of.
Too bad he didn’t enjoy that anymore.
“Rem I-”
“I’m- almost done.” He cut you off, his breathless voice which once made you squirm now made you angry.
It was despicable, it was so wrong. And yet, you couldn’t stop yourself from doing it.
You closed your eyes and began to imagine someone else on top of you. Instantly, you felt a rush of heat to your cheeks at the picture in your mind. He would be so much more careful, and considerate. You’d heard from many girls how good of a lover he was. All of them would dote on how much he liked pleasing them. With his fingers, his mouth, and his...
You tried to squeeze your thighs together.
You should’ve stopped, you knew that. But your mind kept going.
You pictured him on top of you. His curls would be so soft. His hands would be callused from Quidditch. He’d use them on you, make you cum over and over again. You imagined how he’d curl his fingers so perfectly inside you.
“That’s it, my perfect girl,” he’d whisper to you as he went on with it. “You’re so good for me, aren’t you?”
Suddenly, without warning, you felt yourself reach a peak you hadn’t reached in a while. You squeezed your eyes shut and came at the thought of how good James Potter's praises would make you feel.
When Remus was done, he lay next to you on the bed breathless. “You came?”
You only stared at the top of his bed. “Yeah.”
~~~
These fatal fantasies
Giving way to labored breath, takin all of me
We’ve already done it in my head
If it’s make-believe
Why does it feel like a vow we’ll both uphold somehow?
~~~
There was something so exhilarating about being around James. Especially when the two of you were alone. It was as though every time the two of you had a moment alone, he gave you another reason to keep your fantasies going. Often, it made you wonder if he knew of your terrible thoughts.
The two of you sat by the black lake, the rest of your friends were further away playing a game of football. It was funny watching Lily get frustrated trying to explain the rules to Sirius, but it was even funnier when James commented on it from beside you.
“Oh no, he picked it up again. Evans is almost turning as red as her hair, I worry for her health,” the boy with glasses joked.
You snorted. “She’s going to have a heart attack from that boy mark my words.”
“I believe that. ‘Suppose it’s a good thing she’s thinking about becoming a Healer,” he replied.
You threw your head back as you laughed, one of your hands flying up to grip James’s arm. After a few seconds though, you composed yourself and pulled your hand off him as though it had been burned. Your eyes immediately found Remus across the field. He paid you no mind.
“Y/n can I ask you something a little personal?” James asked.
Your eyes met his and you didn’t hesitate to nod. “Sure.”
“You and Remus, things aren’t good between the two of you.”
“What gave that away?” You faked a smile. “But that’s not a question love.”
He really smiled. “I know. Sorry. My question was why are you still with him if things between the two of you are like this? I understand being in love, Merlin I tried to get Evans to go out with me for ages. But you and Moony... You used to be in our room all the time, you guys used to be so happy and I dunno around each other. Do you guys even go out anymore? I haven’t seen a snog between the two of you in a while.”
You inhaled a deep breath, your attention moving to the blade of grass between your fingers. “I suppose I’m afraid.”
“Afraid?”
“Yes, afraid. Rem he- he's my first everything and I dunno. If we broke up the friend group would be torn, and everything would be complicated. I suppose it’s just easier this way,” you answered. You hadn’t been this honest about how you felt in a long time. It felt good. And it felt even better when you caught James’s caring eyes.
“Do you love him?”
His question caught you off guard. “I did. I still think I do.”
You watched him look across the field for a few seconds before he did something you never would’ve expected. Ever so gently, he placed his hand over yours on the grass. All you could do was stare wildly into his eyes. Was this supposed to make your heart race and your face red?
“I care about you y/n, and I care about Remus as well. I want what’s best for both of you and if I’m being honest, I don’t think that’s with each other,” he said softly.
“Have you said this to him then?” You questioned, you found it hard to breathe with the feeling of his rough hand on yours.
James nodded. “Of course I have. He doesn’t like advice that much though.”
“He really doesn’t does he?” You mumbled.
“No, he doesn’t. But either of you can talk to me about anything. You know that right? You don’t have to be afraid of anything y/n. Even if you do break up I’ll be here for you, you won’t be alone. Course you have Lily and Mary and Marlene as well but...” You watched his face change as he trailed off. “I dunno. I thought it would be different with me.”
“Different?” You held your breath. “How so?”
His thumb moved across your skin; you bit down on your lip.
“You know...” he trailed off again, his voice quieter than before.
All you could think about was how good it would feel to pounce on top of him and kiss him till you couldn’t breathe. You’d do it, even out there in the open. You imagined how intense and fast it would be. A few minutes at most but a lifetime of pleasure no doubt. He’d make you feel things you hadn’t felt in ages, he’d do whatever you asked. That’s just the person he was.
“James, you don’t even know the half of it,” you admitted softly.
“Love, I think I do.”
You could’ve fainted right then and there. His eyes were so mesmerizing, his voice sent goosebumps all over your body. It was terrible, despicable, and tragic. But oh, how fucking good it felt to be seen again. And as it seemed, James really saw you.
“James we can’t-”
“We aren’t doing anything.” He leaned closer to you. “And besides there’s no such thing as bad thoughts. Only your actions talk.”
“So you-”
“Yes, yes I do.”
“James...”
“I know I must sound like a god-awful prat but believe me I don’t want the two of you to break up so we can... No. I want you two to break up because both of you are miserable. And I do really care about the both of you, you’re my mates.” He explained quickly.
You turned back to the field and saw Remus slowly approaching. Without thinking you ripped your hand away from James’s as fast as you could and stood up. You took a few deep breaths before you looked down at James.
“If Remus and I do break up, I want you to know it’s not because of... all right?”
“All right.” He nodded.
“Good,” you said before turning and making your way out to Remus.
You knew what he wanted to do, and you would oblige.
You had about ten thousand more fantasies to think of during it anyway.
Coffe & Bowie
Tumblr media
Sirius Black knew Remus Lupin, they went to school together, but he had never spoken to him. He was afraid he was going to embarrass himself in front of him. He always talked to James about how cool Remus looked, or the way he was always so kind to his clients and he was obsessed with that time an old lady approached Remus and they started talking and the old lady started showing him pictures of his cat.
“Wait… how do you know it were cat pictures? “James asked with a very confused tone.
“Well I... I was waiting for my order near them “Sirius explained quite nervous.
“So, he saw you then? “James said.
“Well… no, I was behind a wall “Sirius said.
“So, you were basically stalking him then “James said before giving him a funny smirk.
“No… of course not… I was… I was buying me a coffee when totally unaware he was there I started hearing his conversation… it was just I coincide to be honest.
“Yeah, sure Sirius, just let me remind you that you don’t even like coffee.
“I do like coffee “Sirius said with an angry tone.
“Yeah sure. I have never ever seen you drink coffee. Not even once
“THAT’S BECAUSE YOU NEVER WANT TO GO OUT WITH ME! “Sirius said while taking his hands out of his leather jacket.
“For coffee you mean? “James asked.
“Obviously “Sirius said now with his eyes closed and his hand on his forehead.
“Well then… why don’t I invite you and Pete for coffee, just tell us where “Said James in calmed tone.” Sirius looked at James in shock.
“Well then… see you tomorrow at the coffee shop near school.”
***
When Sirius arrived home, he was very nervous, he didn’t know what he would be wearing, he searched all day in his closet, and he also searched in Regulus closet. At night he called James to ask him what he would be wearing, he told him he will be wearing some jeans and a band t-shirt.
“Sirius calm down, just be yourself “James said through the telephone line.
“But James… he is so cool I don’t want him thinking I´m boring or basic.
“SIRIUS, seriously you are nothing like that, you are coolest person I know.
“That’s because you don’t know Remus “Sirius said with a smile in his face through the telephone line.
“Well, I guess I meet him tomorrow. Just relax and wear whatever you feel comfortable with.
“Fine… thanks Jaime James. “Said Sirius before hanging the phone.
Sirius laid in his bed while Lady Stardust played in the background. He was so nervous he felt he could cry; he wasn’t even going to speak to him but knowing his friends were going to meet him or that maybe they could have an interaction put Sirius in a very stressful situation.
***
The next morning Sirius was waiting in the car with his butler Kreacher to his friends to arrive, he didn’t want to be in the coffee shop alone. He knew Remus was there, he was in the morning turn Saturdays and Sundays.
He saw James and Pete waving at him from across the street and he got down the car.
“I´ll return home walking Kreacher “said Sirius before slamming the front door.
“Yes, master Sirius. “Said Kreacher as last.
Sirius cross the street to meet his friend, they three went inside the coffee shop and waited for Sirius to say something.
“Well, mates let’s get our coffees “Sirius said with a smile on his face.
“I hope their something else than coffee, I don’t like coffee it makes me anxious and other things. “Said Peter with a worried grin on his face.
“Relax Pete, of course there are other things, I bet Sirius knows everything they sell here. “Said James looking how Sirius looked at him very upset.
The guys got to the coffee bar. There was Remus, Sirius could see him preparing an order, he had his old brown converse, some baggy beige jeans, an old pattern sweater, his apron which Sirius knew in the front had his name tab and some pins of bands and books. Sirius noticed his hair was different, he had painted his hair in a red/ orange tone and when Remus turn around, he saw how great he looked with that color. His messy red hair just made his freckles and eyes more appealing to his sight. Sirius got out of words when Remus talked.
“Hi, are you ready to order? “Said Remus taking a little notebook and a pen from his apron.
“Well, my mate Pete here is interested in knowing if you have something different from coffee.
“Yeah, we have tea… some fruit infusions which are like tea if I´m honest “Remus said while laughing and then he continued” we also have cocoa with or without marshmallows, we have milkshakes, sodas, juice, and water.
(They also have French sodas… maybe he forgot about them) “thought Sirius.
“Well then for me is going to be chai tea – said James while reading the menu that was above Remus head” and for my mate Pete here is going to be a hot cocoa with marshmallows.
“Got it “Said Remus while he is writing on his notebook” for you what would be? “Said Remus while looking at Sirius with a smile in his face.
“Ah… hmm… a French soda please. “Sirius said while he looked direct into Remus eyes.
“An Italian soda do you mean? “Remus asked politely.
“Yes, sorry… what flavors do you have? – said Sirius trying to sound less nervous.
“Don´t worry I usually get them wrong to, that’s why I stop offering them, so I instead wait for people to ask… but whatever, we have strawberry, coconut, cherry and lime, pomegranate and lime and mango. “Said for last Remus.
“Which one would you recommend? “Asked Sirius more confident now.
“My personal favorite its pomegranate with lime,” said Remus.
“Well then, it’s going to be a pomegranate and lime Italian soda please – said Sirius with a smile in his face.
“Correct, what’s your name? “Asked Remus with the pen in his hand.
“Sirius… Black – said Sirius seeing how Remus annotated.
“Well then in moment I´ll call you – said Remus giving Sirius a wink.
The three boys walked to a free table near a couch. Sirius was all blushed that he almost matched the red wall behind him.
“So, I think that was good – Said James while sitting down.
“Yeah, I mean the guy looks cool or whatever – Said Peter while he took out a book of his bag. – I hope the cocoa its good, I love my mom’s one.
“He is freaking handsome… and the way he winked – Said Sirius as he covered his face with his hands.
“Yeah, we all saw that Sirius, don’t worry is not part of your imagination – Said James with a sarcastic tone. – You should definitely ask him his number.
“Oh no! there’s no way I’m doing that. – Said Sirius while he denied with his head.
“Well then… lose your opportunity.
“SIRIUS BLACK! – Shouted Remus from the bar.
Sirius stand up so quickly that when he arrived the bar, he saw Remus all blurred.
“Hello there! Here… is your order – said Remus while he put some cookies in his tray.
“Oh, sorry we didn’t ordered cookies – said Sirius while pointing the cookies.
“Oh yeah, I know but I made more than usual so don’t worry the house invites.
“Really?
“Yeah, I hope you liked them… I put some oats, chocolate, and blueberry cookies.
“Thanks a lot Remus – said Sirius while he graved the tray. “Sorry Remus… how much do I owe you?
“Oh, hmm I put the ticket in your tray – said Remus while he smiled at Sirius.
“Thanks – Said Sirius heading to his table.
When he approached the table, he saw James doodling some things in his notebook and Peter reading the book he took out of his bag.
“Your order… mates – said Sirius putting the tray in a small table in front of them.
“Thanks Sirius – Said Peter while he moves to grab his mug” hmm it’s so good.
“Did you buy us cookies Sirius? I mean thanks but we were good with our drinks.
“No, I didn’t… Remus gave it to us, but I won’t share with you guys. – said Sirius while he saw Peter graving a blueberry cookie.
While they were taking their drinks, Sirius couldn’t stop seeing Remus and how he treated his clients. He looked so good and seems so nice. Before they left James, pay the ticket and they left. Remus waved at them while they were heading out. They went with Pete to the bus station so he could wait for his mom, after he left, Sirius started talking to James.
“So just you and me are going to go to the Bowie concert then? – asked Sirius while he put on his sweater.
“Well Pete’s Mother didn’t let him go, so is just going to be you, Marlene, and me.
“Well then… by the way I invited my brother with me, I hope you don´t mind.
“No, no of course not, I like Regulus he is a nice guy – James said while he took his glasses of so he could clean them.
“Well then see you on Sunday.
“Yeah, see you – said James as they parted ways.
***
It was the Bowie night concert, Sirius had begged James lo let him put makeup on him, he accepted with the condition all of them wear makeup.
When they arrived all was very crowded, Marlene went to meet some friends and Regulus and James were chatting, Sirius was at the verge of tears, he couldn’t believe he was going to see bowie.
The concert started, they all shouted and screamed, Sirius started crying he couldn’t believe how Bowie was real he just seemed so perfect to him.
“Oi! Sirius… look who is there – shouted James at Sirius ear.
When Sirius turned at where James was pointing, he couldn’t believe it, well he assumed it, but he couldn’t really believe it. Theres was Remus with a stripped shirt and some red trousers. He was dancing with a blonde-haired guy. Sirius just started crying more.
“Go on, talk to him – said James while hiving a little push to Sirius.
“But he is there… dancing with that guy – Said Sirius looking at Remus.
“SIRIUS! I know the blonde guy, trust me – Said James while graving Sirius shoulders.
“Fine… I´ll trust you. – said Sirius heading where Remus was.
He was very nervous, he looked at Bowie and then poke Remus back.
“Oh!... Hey… Hey Sirius – said Remus with an excited grin.
“Hey Remus – said Sirius smiling at Remus and how shinny his hair looked.
“I didn’t know you liked Bowie – shouted Remus while he approached his ear.
“Yeah, just it’s not very visible – shouted Sirius – I didn’t know you like it either.
Remus pointed at his hair and spoke.
“I got my hair painted just for the concert – said Remus while he smiled.
“REALLY? It looks amazing – Sirius said.
“Thanks a lot, I appreciate it… Can I ask why you didn’t call me? – said Remus nervously.
“WHAT? – asked Sirius in shock.
“You didn’t saw it?... I wrote you my number at the back of the ticket. – said Remus while laughing.
“No! – said Sirius while slamming his hand in his forehead – My friend James took the ticket.
Remus laughed and looked at Sirius.
“Well then… I´m happy I got to see you here. – said Remus while looking at Sirius.
“Me too
They stayed together the rest of the concert, after the concert Sirius went to Remus home and talked all night while they cried about Bowie concert.
Hi this may be an odd request, but could you maybe write something about Sub!Poly! Marauders boys would react and comfort their s/o (who has a service dog), like something happens between reader w/service dog and a random person while their all in public together
Something like this recently happened to me which led me to almost pass out in public and left me kinda shake up and your writing always makes me feel better
I completely understand if you can't so please don’t feel like you have too😅
I love every single one of your writing and hope you have an amazing week💚
“Sit. Good boy come on.” You said to the cute dog next to your side. The dog was on your left along with James while Sirius and Remus were by your right.
They all adored your service dog especially because of how well trained it is. Sirius loved him even more because whenever he transformed into his animagus your dog was always playing with him.
“Do you feel dizzy mommy?” James whispered as you both walked into the mall. “M’ fine my love thank you” James had a habit of calling you mommy in public but luckily he only whispered it.
They were always making sure your fine even if that meant being around you 24/7 which of course, you didn’t mind. Half an hour later you and boys split up. They were getting a snack but you weren’t hungry so you went into a very fancy perfume store.
You let out a sound of interest sniffing a very expensive bottle of perfume. The boys loved to spoil you, which is why you weren’t to worried with the price.
“Excuse me you can’t have a dog in here” said an employee with blond highlights and black heels. “Oh sorry it’s just my service dog.” You said politely thinking she thought it was just a regular dog.
“Don’t you see the sign? No animals allowed in the store, besides it’s not like you need it that bad.” She commented looking you up and down. “Just because I don’t look like I need it doesn’t mean I don’t.” You argued back placing the perfume bottle down and walking out.
Once you were out of the doors you stopped. Oh god not now. You felt dizzy again, you felt dizzy in the car but didn’t think much of it. You took a step back grabbing your head.
Your service dog quickly perked up up at your state. “I’m fine” you said to your dog letting him on the head before continuing to walk. You weren’t in the mood to shop anymore.
“Hey babe, what’s wrong?” Sirius said worriedly looking at the sympathetic smile on your face. “Nothing I Just felt a little dizzy because of something. Can we go please?.” You asked softly.
“Of course cmon” James said walking to the exit with you guys. “Msorry it’s just there was this really rude employee.” You said making remus tut. “It’s fine love we can come back whenever.” Remus reassured before placing a kiss on your head.
“Sirius!”, I laugh as he opens the door taking me in his arms.
“Y/n! How’ve you been? Are you alright darling?” He asks in concern, eyeing me up and down to check for any wounds I could’ve obtained from my Floo from Platform 9¾  to Grimmauld Place.
“Yes Sirius, I’m fine don’t worry. How are you, are you okay?”
“I’m just fine sweetheart,” He says, giving me a big smile, “Come on let's get you settled and have some dinner.”
Sirius has been as good as a father as I could have ever asked for. He’s my uncle of course, but since he’s been taking care of me since I was a newborn baby, relation titles hardly makes a difference. To him, I’ll always be his daughter, and to me, he’ll always be my father.
My mother decided to hand me over to the first person who would take me the second I was born and with no word of who my father was, Sirius, Remus and the Weasleys have been the only family I’ve had and I’d never ask for anything more.
“When are the others getting here?” I sit on the sofa, playing with my cat Archie while waiting for Sirius to finish cooking dinner.
“Well,” he responds from his place in the kitchen, “the Weasleys, Padfoot and Tonks will be here soon with Hermione, but Moody’s gone to get Harry from Privet Drive, needed to get some things.”
I leave Archie playing with a toy and walk to the kitchen.
“How was school? Get into any trouble?” He wiggles his eyebrows at me playfully as I take a seat on the counter.
I smile before responding, “Some, thanks for the map, by the way, really helped.”
“My pleasure darling. So, have you heard any word from Draco?”
I clear my throat and look down as I answer him, anxiety flooding me and chilling me to the bone as I think of my cousin.
He may be a foul, dirty-mouthed git with bleach-box crusty hair, but he’s my cousin at the end of the day and the only person from my family that I’m close to except for Sirius.
“Uhm, no…not yet.”
“What about that other boy? The one you came here with that one time in fourth year. What was his name…Thaddaeus?”
“Theodore. And no. I haven’t.” At the mention of his name, all my feelings of anxiety and worry vanish, being replaced by the cold feeling of betrayal and hatred.
Sirius holds my hand and gives it a squeeze with a reassuring smile, opening his mouth to say something comforting I’m sure until he’s interrupted by the front door opening.
“Yn!” Hermione laughs as I jump off the counter and give her a big hug, Ron joining in not long after.
“Molly, Arthur, how’ve you been?” Sirius meets them as I meet up with Remus and Tonks coming up behind them.
After Dumbledore’s death, the year at Hogwarts was finished early, leaving students and staff time to mourn his death, but since the threats and close calls from Voldemort, we’d all decided that the Order would move to Grimauld Place along with Harry to keep us all as safe as possible.
I haven’t received word from any of my family or seen any of them, except Sirius, since Draco left on the night of the Yule Ball.
God that night still haunts me.
I shut out any thoughts of that night and Theo and help Sirius serve dinner instead.
“But doesn’t the trace end at seventeen?” Harry speaks up from his place on the table, shaking me out of my daydream.
“It does but with these dark forces controlling the Ministry, we can’t take any chances Harry.” Remus replies, pouring drinks for everyone as I take a seat in between Fred and George.
“Alright Y/n?” They both say in unison.
“Perfect,” I say with a smile, “How’s the shop?”
“Bit slow at first, what with You-Know-Who coming back, but we’ve been picking up a lot. Got about fifty new orders just today!” Fred responds as George shows me a list of orders from his pocket.
“Still don’t understand why I can’t have any discounts.” Ron grumbles from across the table.
Fred and George lean into me, giving me a hug from each side as I laugh at Ron’s sour face, “Those discounts are only for our favoured ones.” George adds.
“Its discriminatory if you ask me.” Ron complains.
“Well, good thing we didn’t ask you, eh brother?” Fred remarks, laughing with me and George.
“Well regardless of anything, all we can be sure of is that Voldemort’s back and he won’t stop at any length to kill you Harry.” Sirius says from the end of the table, Voldemort’s name causing everyones sub-conversations to go quiet.
“Right well,” Mrs Weasley says, breaking the silence, “That’s enough of that, eat up everyone we’ve got a very busy day tomorrow.”
“Ah yes, when’s the wedding Molly?” Tonks says, her hair bubblegum pink.
“Eight pm.” Mrs Weasley says with a smile as we all start to joke around, getting more comfortable from the tense conversation previously.
✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚✧ ‧˚₊ ❆ ‧ ₊ ⊹˚
“Come on now, up to your rooms the lot of you.” Mrs Weasley shouts from the bottom of the stairs.
“Mum have you seen my toothbrush?!” Ron shouts from the top of the stairs as I walk past Mrs Weasley to the living room to get my reading book, her frustrated huff making me smile.
Picking up my book, I go to leave before I see the one below it.
The blue book.
Tears begin to flood my eyes as I see the letters stuffed into the pages.
Theo’s written to me a few times. Nothing much of material and nothing to which I’ve replied to. He’s written vaguely and as if were the same, as if we were back at school and everything was fine. With the world, with us. Most of the thingshe writes don’t make any sense or are quotes from books he’s recommended me in the past with random bolded words. Things like:
“you can find something truly important in an ordinary minute.” from One More Day.
“i could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.” from Pride and Prejudice.
“This is how the girl who couldn't speak and the man who couldn't see fell in love.” from The Blind Assasin.
“There is always something left to love.” from One Hundered Years of Solitude.
“Star child, are you listening? I died that day.” from The Star Child.
“But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world.” from The Little Prince.
I sigh, putting the letter back in their place, turning the lights off downstairs now that everyones gone to bed, and start making my way to my room.
Click.
I freeze in my steps.
What the fuck?
I reach out for my wand, cluthcing it tightly as I walk slowly to the door. The doorknob feels cold as I turn it slowly and I can see my shaky breath in the vapour.
I open the door and see no one.
“Hi Y/n.”
Expelliarmus! I shout in my head, disarming whoever was beside me.
“What’d you do that for?!”
I open my tightly shut eyes and a sharp inhale of breath quickly follows.
“Draco!” I whisper as I hug my cousin tightly. He hesitates at first but hugs back after a moment, tighter than I had.
“Are you okay? I haven’t heard from you in months.” I say, scanning him over. He looks paler and his eyes are duller.
We sit on the steps of the house and I hold onto his hand as he begins to talk.
“Everythings gone to shit Y/n. It’s all so so fucked up. They’re forcing me to do things I wouldn't have ever even imagined. And the others too. We’re all being forced to torture and…and kill innocent people.”
“Have you…”
“Killed someone? No, well almost. A few months ago and it haunts me. Every night.”
His voice wavers and breaks in between his sentences. Tears cloud his eyes and I reach for his head and kean it against my shoulder, letting him sob into me.
I cry with him as I stroke his hair until we finish and sit in comfortable silence.
“Hey, at least your hair’s not that crispy to the touch.” I joke quietly, receiving a laugh from Draco.
Theres a short pause before Draco lifts his head, wipes my tears and says, “Don’t cry. I don’t like seeing you cry.”
“Malfoy’s a big softie now eh? Just wait till I tell everyone at Hogwarts.”
He snickers at my remark and after a pause says,
“He’s not all that well either you know.”
My face hardens at the mention of him. “I don’t care if he’s well or not.”
“Except that you do. He’s sent you letters I hear?”
“Not letters,” I grumble, looking down at the dark pavement, wet from the previous rain, “Short quotes. From those books he used to read to me. They’re usually one sentence and make no sense.”
“Well I suppose he can’t say anything too vague. What with all our letters and things being censored and approved by the Ministry before they’re allowed to be let out.”
“I don’t know. Censored or not, I hate him. And his stupid letters.”
“You might want to give him a chance Y/n,” Draco says standing up to leave, holding out his hand for me to take, “He’s not exactly alright.”
Draco’s words make my stomach turn in on itself, anxiety flooding my heart.
No. He’s a lying git.
“Here,” Draco says, passing me a letter from his pocket, “He made me sneak this to you. I may not get a chance to leave but I will help him. Read the letters he’s sent you again.”
With a final hug and kiss on the cheek, Draco disapparates, leaving me confused by his words.
I go back to my room, seeing Hermione sleeping peacefully on her bed and snuggle into mine.
“Lumos.” I whisper, my wand lighting up as I open the letter.
“Spinners’ end.”
It simply stated.
Read the letters he’s sent you again. I hear Draco’s voice in the back of my mind and conjure my blue book, taking the letters out again and placing them all by each other in order of their arrival.
I stare at them for a few minutes, reading and rereading them again and again before it sticks out to me like a splatter of paint on a white wall.
The bold.
All the letters have a word singled out in bold, I grabbed the quill on my bedside and scribbled down in the front page of the blue book, the only paper I had on hand, each bold word on the letters.
I stare at the mixed up words for a minute, searching my mind for sentence combinations until they make one.
i need to see you star.
And with that, all my defences come crumbling down.
