i genuinely don't care how good a piece of ai generated art or writing looks on the surface. i don't care if it emulates brush strokes and metaphor in a way indistinguishable from those created by a person.
it is not the product of thoughtful creation. it offers no insights into the creator's life or viewpoint. it has no connection to a moment in time or a place or an attitude. it has no perspective. it has no value.
it's empty, it's hollow, and it exists only to generate clicks (and by extension, ad revenue.)
it's just another revolting symptom of the disease that is late stage capitalism, and it fucking sucks.

Pro basketball player Steve seeing a video of Rockstar Eddie at a concert. A song starts and the crowd is yelling and Eddie reaches down with his free hand, grabs himself, and screams "suck my dick!"
Half the crowd yells it with him, the other half just fucking yells. Steve watches the video like seven fucking times, his cheeks getting warmer and warmer each time until he decides to do something stupid.
Rockstar Eddie scrolling mindlessly and seeing a video of himself on stage, so he clicks it only to watch himself scream "suck my dick!" Followed by a video of steve spliced after it. It's just his face, his hair is a fucking mess, his cheeks all pretty and pink and he looks fucking distraught as he says "just give me one chance. One fucking chance." And then he covers his face with his hands and snorts into them, laughing as the video cuts off.
Eddie's heart flutters as he watches it a few more times. Pretty Basketball Boy Steve fucking Harrington just posted a fucking video practically begging to suck his dick. Eddie smirks at his phone. Who is he to deny a pretty boy begging so sweetly? He goes to Steve's profile and types out a message. Dropping his phone on his stomach as he laughs.
Steve opens the message with shakey hands to see:
Shoot your shot pretty boy. 🏀😉
It takes Steve half an hour, but he send back a restaurant name and a time. His palms sweating, cheeks hot.
Eddie answers immediately with:
It's a date. See you there sweetheart.
Steve falls face forward onto his bed, for once in his life thankful for his lack of impulse control.

being childhood friends with yuuji…
your parents are close and you’re both the same age, so you grow up attached at the hip. you do everything together: learn how to tie your shoes, ride the school bus, take swimming lessons, attend birthday parties.
it isn’t until high school that you start drifting apart. yuuji is gifted at sports and you’re neck deep in college prep; you care for one another still, but you don’t have time to hang out. you’re both too busy and usually forego any get-togethers that your parents have.
the last time you see yuuji for many years is before you go to college. you attend separate schools: he gets a sports scholarship, you get an academic scholarship. you both have fond memories of one another, but things aren’t how they used to be.
it isn’t until after you graduate college and start the soul-sucking corporate grind that you see your childhood best friend again. you’re visiting your parents one weekend and a surprise guest shows up: yuuji.
the boy you once knew is now a man. he grew into his too-large feet, it seems: he’s tall and broad and undeniably strong. his skin looks sunkissed—did he always have those freckles across the bridge of his nose? and his eyes are rich and smooth, an overflowing spoonful of honey.
the smile that graces his lips is devastating when his gaze meets yours. you swear the butterflies in your stomach will lift you off of the floor. you wonder what you look like from his perspective. is he disappointed?
the hug that yuuji gives you is imbued with the love he has felt for as long as he can remember; it’s the love that scared him as a boy, the love he tried to shake in college, the love that he’s now determined to hold onto—if you’ll have him.

I am SO grateful that ed and stede exist as characters exactly as they are. I'm so grateful for these two men who are traumatized and messed up and struggle to even like themselves, who are terrible at communicating, who make enough mistakes between the two of them to fill an entire ocean. I am so grateful to watch them struggle and be seen and be loved and reach out for the things they want and are maybe starting to believe that they deserve. I'm so grateful that the show lets them fall in love and get together exactly as they are, that it doesn't say they need to wait until they've become some unattainably perfect version of themselves before they have permission to have that. i am so grateful for ofmd

confessions pt. 2
(bayverse & reader are all adults <3)
leonardo
leonardo has saved the city of new york—and the world, by association, because what kind of world would be left without his precious city—twice before even entering adulthood. since the age of fifteen he’s saved countless lives and can tell stories that would leave even the most seasoned police officers lying awake at night.
nothing in his repertoire of harrowing life experiences has prepared him for the gut-wrenching experience of catching feelings for his best friend.
leo had been the last of the brothers to trust you after mikey had cheerily, thoughtlessly, brought you unannounced to the lair one night. his decision had led to several hours in the hashi after you’d left, but leo couldn’t stop you from coming back. eventually, reluctant trust transformed into a friendship, easygoing and natural in a way that he didn’t know friendships could be.
when you first met leo, he could count everything he cared about in the world on one hand—his family, his training, and his city, in that order. the world he lived in was small, but it was his. his to understand, to care for and protect. he would never have dreamed of describing himself as lonely until meeting you. how infuriating, then, was your insistence on worming your way into that shadow-hidden world, cracking it wide open and exposing that loneliness to the sunlight of your smile.
so here he was, laying on the floor of his own bedroom, hugging a pillow while you painted gentle brush strokes across his shell.
you’d been begging him to let you paint his shell for ages, promising not to listening to any of mikey’s explicit suggestions of what to paint. after years of experience telling his brother’s ‘no’, he’d thought he was immune to pouting.
evidently not.
“you still awake?” you paused for a moment, looking up from your work to check on him, and received a muffled hum in response from where leo’s face was buried into the crook of his elbow. you were kneeling at his side, one hand on his shell to support your weight as you focused on the task at hand.
for the first several minutes, his entire body had been tensed up. leo was never more aware of his hulking size and strength than when he was next to you. however, he had quickly melted into your touch, hypnotized by the swirling brush strokes and comfortable silence in the room.
how long had he been laying here? seconds, hours, years—leo had no idea, and he didn’t care. nirvana was definitely a real thing, he decided, and he’d found it under your gentle touch against his shell.
“alright, i’m finished,” your voice broke through his thoughts and he lifted his head to look at you. paint bottles and cups of water surrounded where you were kneeling at his side, and were all being whisked away to the side.
“wait, wait, wait, don’t move yet—it still has to dry,” you urged him as he began to lift himself up on his elbows. he huffed in response, letting his face hit the pillow he had been laying on unceremoniously, and side-eyed you.
“i didn’t realize this would be an all-day event, or i would have brought some entertainment,” he mumbled dryly. you laid on the ground next to him, arms folded under the back of your head, and looked over to grin at him. he tried to ignore the crackle of electricity under his skin as your arm grazed his, your faces just inches away from each other.
“i’m pretty sure i’m all the entertainment you need, actually,” you replied cheekily, making him smile and roll his eyes.
his gaze lingered on you just a moment too long. it had taken him ages to slow down his racing heartbeat when you had first begun, and now it threatened to beat out of his chest again as he listened to you begin to delve into your creative thought process, careful not to give away all of the details of your work before he could see it for himself. he watched the corners of your eyes crinkle, the furrow of your brow and the way your fingers traced the air as you always did when you started talking about the things you love. where leo was collected and calculated, you were animated and colorful. all of the best parts of being alive begin and end behind your eyes, he thought to himself.
“i think it should be good now,” you decided, leaning up on one elbow to gingerly touch the paint on his shell before nodding, a look of excitement and nervousness crossing your face as you crouched down and extended your hands. “wanna take a look?”
he accepted, taking your small hands in his, rose to his feet and walked over to the mirror propped up against the wall.
leo stood in awe of the swirl of colors painted across the back of his shell. a city skyline in shades of blues and purples was splashed against a dark sky, and he could make out four small figures standing side by side on a rooftop in familiar colors.
“it’s new york,” he breathed, eyebrow ridges raised as he craned his neck, trying to see it more clearly in the mirror.
“you like it?” you asked in a hopeful voice, swaying in place as one hand tapped your cheek in anticipation.
“it’s fine,” he said finally, earning a smack on his bicep from you. he turned to you, grinning ear to ear. “it’s amazing. you’re amazing. the guys are gonna be so jealous.”
he turned down to look at you, towering over you as you beamed that sunshine smile at the praise. amused, he noticed a splatter of bright blue on your cheek and gently wiped it away with his thumb. had he imagined the scarlet blush of your cheeks as you turned your eyes away from him?
did it matter?
“c’mon, i wanna go show the others,” you decided, turning past him towards his bedroom door. without thinking, his hand shot out of its own volition to grab yours. you froze at the large hand gently holding your wrist, rooting you to the spot.
“wait, just…wait,” leo rasped, immediately ashamed at the edge of desperation creeping into his voice. you turned to face him, brow furrowed slightly in curiosity. that familiar stinging that he felt every time you left the lair bubbled up in his chest. he didn’t want to go back to the others and have to see them crowd around you, begging you to do the same for them. for once, just once, he wanted a moment that he didn’t have to share with his brothers. he wanted something to just be his.
he wanted that something to be you.
he wasn’t thinking properly, he knew it, but he never really was thinking clearly around you.
you began to ask if he was okay, your lips forming around the words, but never made it to the end of the sentence as his hands reached up to your face, cradling you in his hands. your eyes widened a little at the touch, but you made no effort to pull away.
“leo?”
the sound of his name rolled off of your tongue so easily, so effortlessly breaking down his usual barriers of self discipline that dictated his every waking moment, and finally he released himself to his impulses as he leaned down to kiss you.
you tensed up in surprise the moment his lips touched yours, and he pulled away as quickly as it began. his fearful thoughts began to race, screaming at him for being so selfish. the one friend he’d ever made for himself, and he’d ruined it.
“i—shit, i’m sorry. i don’t know why i…”
his regretful rambling was stopped midsentence by your hand on his plastron, his chest heaving as your gaze followed a trail from his eyes to his lips.
“leo. shut up.”
it was his turn to be surprised as you stood on your toes, pressing your lips against his.
he poured all of his feelings, the long months of pining and languishing over his certainly-unrequited feelings into the kiss, grabbing you by the waist with one arm and moving the other to quietly shut the door again.
the others could wait a little longer.

For the dialogue prompts: Steddie + 22. “Yes, you totally can. You can do anything! Um. Do what, exactly?”
also on ao3
"Do you think I could ask Eddie out?"
Robin chokes on her 7-Up, and a little goes up her nose, and it burns, but she still turns to Steve, wide-eyed. Her face is wet with soda, but she doesn't bother to wipe it at she stares at him and he stares back, blank-faced.
"Well?"
"Run that by me one more time?"
"Okay--" He sighs, dropping his head for a moment as he leans over the counter, pushing his pack of Red Vines away. "Look."
"Where did this come from?" Robin bursts, finally wiping her face clean of the soda and the single tear that's fallen from her eye. (It really burned.)
"I-- Okay," Steve says again, sighing heavily. He glances at the door, which is hanging open to combat the summer heat, but it's a slow day today, and the parking lot is empty except for his Beemer and two other cars. "I kind of... really like him." Her eyes widen more and her head tilts. "And I only realized, like, yesterday, so I haven't been keeping this from you, I swear. I just..."
And then Robin is grinning, and she hops over, bouncing up onto the counter next to him and setting her soda down dangerously fast. It almost tips, and Steve stares at it with wide eyes as Robin kicks her feet and looks down at him.
"How'd you realize?" she asks excitedly, rocking back and forth.
"Are you serious?" he questions, looking up at her with a raised eyebrow.
"I never got to talk about crushes when I was a kid," she complains, whining and kicking at him. "Let me have this, come on. Tell me."
He sighs heavily, looking around again even though they're alone, and he leans against the counter next to her legs, a smile now teasing at his lips.
"He made me a mixtape," he says, and Robin grins, watching the way his eyes glaze over a little.
"Was it all metal?"
"I mean. Yeah. That's kinda all he listens to," he says, and he's fidgeting with his fingers, twisting them and cracking his knuckles. "But it was... It was good. I liked it."
"Right..." she prompts, nudging his side with her foot again. She lifts her 7-Up to her mouth as he nibbles on his bottom lip, thinking.
"There was one song on it," he says slowly, carefully. "That just... I don't know. It felt... different."
"Different how?"
"Like... Romantic?"
Robin's smile grows until it almost hurts, and she kicks him.
"How does it go?"
"I don't remember," he lies (she can tell), "but part of the chorus says something about, uhm. 'I'm a prisoner of your eyes.'" He pauses, brows furrowing as he thinks. "And there's a part about, like, 'I've locked myself inside your heart and thrown away the key." And, uhm, 'Only time will tell if I can live without you,' or something."
"Oh my god," she says succinctly. He stands up straight, looking at her, exasperated.
"Right? And I can't tell if it's, like, just a good song that he thought I'd like or if he's trying to say something or if he's saying something without meaning to, or..."
"Okay, wait, how did you realize you like him?"
"I just..." He sighs heavily, falling forward so his face is smushed against her thigh, and she pats his head. "Was listening to it and thought about, like. If someone else showed me that song it would be romantic. And then I thought, like 'What if it is romantic?' and I thought I wouldn't mind if it was, coming from him, and then I just... Realized I kinda want it to be."
Robin's heart swells. She runs her fingers through his hair tenderly, and he sighs again.
"You're cool with liking a guy?" she asks after a moment. "When I realized I like girls I totally freaked out."
He shrugs, standing up again and sighing.
"It took a minute," he says a little tiredly, "but... Weirder shit's happened in my life. Liking a guy doesn't seem like the end of the world when you've witnessed and survived the actual end of the world, you know?"
She frowns thoughtfully.
"Yeah. I guess."
"Just... I mean I guess I'm just kind of stressed about, like... What if he doesn't like guys?" he asks, picking up a Red Vine and taking a bite.
"I don't think you have to worry about that," she says without thinking, and his eyes widen as he looks at her, half a Red Vine hanging from his mouth.
"...Huh?"
"...Uh."
He stares for a few more seconds, chewing slowly.
"Do you think he's gay?" he whispers.
"Well, I don't think he's straight."
He swallows and throws the other half of the candy to the counter aggressively.
"Robin."
"Steve."
"Are you serious?"
"Look, I'm not saying I know everything, I'm just saying he seems kinda..." She shrugs weakly.
He takes a breath, one of his hands flapping weakly for a moment as he raises onto his tiptoes and then lowers, calming himself. And Robin thinks maybe they spend too much time together.
"Are you serious?" he says again, and his eyes are wide and shining, and he suddenly looks like he's the kids' ages, like he's just a boy with a crush instead of a man that had to grow up too fast and then never got the chance to slow down. She shrugs, smiling a little. "Do you think I could do it?" he asks almost excitedly, giddily, and God, she loves him.
"Yes, you totally can, you can do anything!" a voice says brightly from the doorway, and they both jump, looking up to find Eddie strolling in, wearing a pair of jeans despite the heat and a white shirt that reads Iron Maiden with some illustration on it. The sleeves are cut off, exposing his tattooed arms and his scars, and Robin knows Steve is probably melting just looking at him as he approaches the front counter and leans over, looking at Steve with shining eyes. "Um. Do what, exactly?"
Steve and Robin look at each other.
Now's your chance.
Should I?
Yes, obviously. Use the breakroom.
What if you're wrong?
I'm not, get out of here.
Eddie waits patiently, looking back and forth between them, smiling almost nervously like he knows they're talking about him, and his face light up and his smile softens when Steve looks at him.
"Uh. Can we talk?"
"Yeah," Eddie says lightly, confusedly. "'Course, what's up?"
"Like..." Steve gestures with a tilt of his head toward the back, and Eddie taps on the counter as he stands up straight, following him.
Robin kicks her feet, smiling at the ground and lifting her 7-Up again.
---
"So."
"You okay?" Eddie asks as the door shuts behind them. He leans against the back of it looking offensively good as he crosses his arms over his chest.
"Yeah, no, I just... Uhm." Steve takes a deep breath, moving to lean against the wall across from him. The room is laid out so there's a wall in front of the door, so their shoes are almost touching. Eddie's wearing some black Converse today, scuffed and ripped and stained with mud and grease. "Wanted to ask you something."
"Okay," Eddie says slowly. "What might that be?"
"Uhm." Steve takes a breath. "That mixtape you made me."
"Did you listen to it?" Eddie asks, his eyes lighting up.
"Yeah," Steve says, and he can't suppress his smile, looking at him. His hair is tied up in a messy bun on top of his head, probably with a hair tie he stole from Nancy, but there are some pieces falling down around his face, and it looks pretty. Eddie pulls a piece across his face shyly.
"Did you like it?"
Steve blinks at him.
"Yeah," he says breathlessly. "I liked it a lot."
"Really?" Eddie asks, beaming.
"Yeah," Steve says, his smile widening. "There was one song--"
"Which one?"
"I think it was called..." Steve hesitates, watching Eddie carefully. "Prisoner of Your Eyes?"
Eddie's smile falters, and his eyes flicker across Steve's face, his hand lowering the curl he's holding.
"You like that one?" he asks, his voice softer, and Steve almost has all the confirmation he needs.
"Yeah," he says shyly. "...Made me think of you."
Eddie's eyes widen the slightest bit, and he stares at Steve, and in the small space, Steve can practically hear his heartbeat. (And what a beautiful sound that is.) Eddie drops his hand and puts it in his pocket.
"The others didn't?" Eddie says, and Steve scoffs, kicking his foot lightly.
"You know what I mean."
"Do I?"
Steve looks at him, and Eddie's eyes are boring into his, dark and shiny and Steve could swear he can see the universe in them. Eddie is unblinking, and he looks like he's holding his breath, apprehensive and shy and nervous.
Steve stands up straight off the wall, taking a deep breath as he steps closer. Eddie's eyes somehow widen even more. They're practically the same height, but he still looks like he's looking up at Steve, eyes shining.
"Do you?" Steve asks, his voice soft now, almost whispering.
Eddie's lips part as he looks at him, and he's close enough now for Steve to see each eyelash, to see the strand of hair that's on his face. Steve reaches up to move it out of the way. Eddie's cheeks flush pink.
"Is this what you were talking about with Robin?" he asks, his voice breathy, as he looks across Steve's face, his eyes lingering on his mouth. Steve hesitates, his face warming.
"Uh. I asked her if she thought I could ask you out."
Eddie's eyes snap back to Steve's and flick back and forth between like he's looking for a lie in them, like he's searching for an indication of Steve's honesty.
"Really?" he breathes.
Steve nods, smiling softly at him. He reaches up and tucks a curl behind his ear tenderly, tracing a line down his neck, looking at the scars that match Steve's own.
"What do you think?" he whispers. "Could I?"
"Yeah," Eddie breathes. "I think you could."
Steve suppresses a smile, moving closer and touching Eddie's face, caressing his cheeks, tracing the scar that's on his left cheek, rough and pink and a little silvery and beautiful.
"Will you go out with me?" he asks softly, disregarding the second part of the question, which clarifies that going out for them isn't the same as it is for other couples, because they have to pretend to be friends, because Steve can't bring him flowers, because he can't kiss him in the parking lot. But for now, at this moment... they can pretend.
"Yes," Eddie says, and his hands finally find Steve's waist, his fingers pressing into the fabric of his vest. "I'll go out with you."
"Yeah?" Steve asks weakly, smiling, and Eddie's eyes flicker across his face again, his fingers tightening on his waist.
"Yeah," he says. "I wanna."
"Shit," Steve breathes. "Okay."
"Okay," Eddie says softly.
They stare at each other for a moment, just breathing. Touching each other. Holding each other.
"Will you kiss me, please?" Eddie bursts after a moment.
"Can I?" Steve asks, his heart pounding, excited, and Eddie pulls at his waist impatiently.
"Please," he says adamantly. "I've wanted to kiss you for fucking ages, I'm begging you, Stevie."
Steve beams so brightly that his face hurts, and he moves closer, setting a hand on Eddie's chest and pressing him into the door.
Eddie's eyes are already almost closed, and he's lifting his chin up for him, lips parted, and Steve wonders how he could have gone this long without realizing he likes men, because Eddie is the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.
"You're fucking gorgeous," Steve whispers when their lips brush, and Eddie's hands tighten again as he pulls at his vest.
Steve kisses him before he can say anything.
Eddie gasps and clutches at his back as Steve presses him into the door harder, and Steve is so glad his life's worked out the way it has, because somehow he has Eddie Munson up against a door, kissing him like his life depends on it, and he wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Steve holds his face tenderly, tilting his head as he kisses him again, and he can feel Eddie's pulse hammering against his fingertips as he presses them into his skin under his jaw. Steve smiles, catching Eddie's lip between his teeth, and Eddie lets out a breathy hum.
"Do you wanna spend the night at my place tonight?" Steve asks breathlessly when they part, panting, and Eddie kisses him desperately before he answers. His hands are pressing into the small of his back. It feels good.
"Yeah, obviously," he says softly into his mouth, licking at his lip. Steve grins.
"Cool," he whispers. He pulls back just enough to look at him, at the way his lips are red and shiny now, the way his eyes are a little glazed over. "'Cause I got, like, twenty years of repressed bisexuality to work through and I kinda want you there for it."
"Oh, fuck. Okay, yeah, yes."
---
They're taking too long. Robin helps a customer, the only one that comes by, and she helps herself to Steve's Red Vines, nibbling them as she watches the movie they put on earlier even though she can't really follow along because she got a little distracted earlier.
She looks over at the breakroom, sighing, bored, and then she sticks a Red Vine in her mouth, stepping cheerfully around the counter to the breakroom, where she pauses, listening in case they're talking. She just hears a soft, breathy hum, and she grins, her fist hovering above the door before she knocks hard.
"Jesus fucking--"
"Robin!"
She cackles happily, throwing her head back.
"I'm bored," she says loudly, and Steve calls back, "Okay, well, I'm not, so fuck off."
She groans loudly, falling against the door, and she hears Eddie
They emerge after another few minutes, their hair touseled and cheeks red, and Eddie is grinning smugly.
"Rob," Steve says before he's even at the counter. "You're staying at Nancy's tonight."
"Yeah, I figured."

Do you think you'd ever want to write something about cursed cat alastor? I feel like you could make "al gets turned into a cat lolol" about the metaphysical horror of losing your autonomy and identity or something wild like that.
Also along with being a fantastic character writer, you are also hysterical so it would be equally upsetting as funny I think
I was going to say that my interest in cursed cat Alastor primarily takes the form of looking at art of a hilarious tiny little vibrating ball of malice and unholy intentions, but then I read the rest of the ask and I have to admit, anon, you have me fucking pegged to a T, that is exactly how I'd write that, LMAO.
God. "Character turned into a cat" is such a time-honored fanfic staple for, like, characters who need help and love (and possibly assistance recovering from a giant chest wound) but are fully unwilling to accept it normally, and so get turned into a helpless creature that everyone as a standard accepts as needing to be cared after with a side bonus of "nobody knows it's them so it's a little more okay" and also "they can still lash out and be ornery and it's kind of taken for granted because, well: cat".
It would suit Alastor SO perfectly. The forced, unwilling exchange of control and bodily autonomy for freely provided care would make him SO unwell. Humans anthropomorphize the stress behaviors of cute animals in ways that ignore or infantilize them all the time. I think we should inflict that on Alastor until he fucking snaps. Did you know cats can growl? They don't do it unless they're very upset.
And Lucifer would NEVER get to consume a single cup of coffee before it smashes to smithereens on the kitchen floor as long as Alastor remains a cat.

Sorta a continuation of this post.
I’ve been thinking more about reverse robins AU with Duke as the Dick/Nightwing parallel, and I have some ideas.
So like, Duke came first. He was the light to Batman’s darkness. I don’t know if he would start off with Signal or another mantle and become Signal later on, but he definitely had the bright colors from the start. Batman might be the Dark Knight but Duke was Gotham’s (K)night Light. Batman fought what hid in the shadows but Signal chased the shadows away, provided a guiding light home. He was the Sunshine when the never ending grey clouds got too thick. He was Gothams hope and inspiration for a brighter future.
But don’t forget he was also a menace. I don’t think it would go down exactly like it did in the comics, it was the early years for Batman-and for the villains as well. After Duke’s parents were gone (maybe by Joker still turning them mad with Joker gas in Joker earliest year, maybe year one for him or something else) he started planning. He started working harder in school, focusing on the sciences to one day make a cure but also would go out looking for his parents, like in canon. He would stumble into things way bigger, overhearing plots from villains and mafias and decided to become an inconvenience for them. Letting the airs out of tires when no one was watching, a fire alarm pulled right before an attack, door stoppers on the outside of each door to a warehouse trapping the villains who where planning inside. A sudden strong of bad luck befalling the main terrors of Gotham. It didn’t go unnoticed, especially by Batman. Duke kept his streak of being unseen until one night he crossed paths with the Bat.
Bruce for his part would have know about the little boy who lost his parents in the attack, and it would have also brought up some memories for him as well. He would have kept a small track of him, but noticed he was in foster care so didn’t do much until one day he came across the reason behind all the karma the villain have be having. Looking into the boys eyes and seeing the same fire that he had, blazing more fierce as Duke explains how he will find his parents and save them, and if he could prevent more bad things along the way he will. Something pinging in Bruce’s soul, this kid lost his parents like he did but not fully, and he still had hope among the need for justice, something that had faded so long ago for himself. He took Duke back that day, promising that he will find Duke’s parents, and kept a closer eye on him after the fact.
Duke noticed that after that day it became like clockwork, he would sneak out, search Gotham, cause a little chaos, get caught by the Bat and brought back to his current foster home. Bruce did some digging, looked for Dukes parents but also found out that Leslie Thompkins was the person in charge of Duke’s case. After a few weeks of the new schedule he met up with Dr. Thompkins. They talked about how Duke has been bounced around from home to home and sneaking out to find his parents almost every night. After a long conversation, and not as much convincing as one would expect, Duke found himself being driven to his next foster home, Wayne Manor.
Okay I’m going to leave this here for now. I ended up writing so much more than I though I would lmao. I have more ideas and will probably continue this soon.

the perfect date with the boy in orange 👀
how do you think he'd plan it out..?
not me swooning over here thinking about this. time for some dumbass (affectionate)
doing bayverse because i've already done a couple of dates with rise mikey, the loml needs some attention too
Mikey jumps into the weight room and sighs. Heavily. He paces a bit, then sighs again. He positions himself so that Raph can see him out of the corner of his eye where he’s using the punching bag. He sighs again, then throws his hands up when he still doesn’t get a response. “Raphhhhh….” he whines, causing his brother to grunt in irritation.
“What is it Mikey?”
“I need your help!” Raph rolls his eyes.
“With what Mikey?”
“Planning my date with my angel!”
That makes Raph pause. He grabs the bag to stop it from swinging into him as he looks at Mikey incredulously. “You asked them on a date without planning it out first?? And you’re coming to me??”
Mikey blinks at him. “Yeah, of course.”
Raph looks down at the punching bag and gives it one last strong punch before releasing it and moving to his reflex bag. He starts aggressively punching it, jumping around to avoid its recoil. Mikey is about to give up and go sulk in a corner when Raph speaks up. “Don’t they like ballroom dancing or whatever? What if you took them dancing?”
Mikey’s eyes widen and he points at his brother. “Yes! They love ballroom dancing! I can take them dancing!” His excitement almost immediately dims though, and he puts his head in his hands as another thought occurs to him. “Awww, but I can’t dance!”
Raph is silent for another minute. Mikey starts to pace while muttering to himself. “Ain’t that shit just footwork? You should be fine if you work on your footwork,” Raph finally offers.
Mikey whirls around and points at Raph again. “Yes!” He runs off without another word, yelling Leo’s name.
Leo is confused but happy to see Mikey taking his training so seriously. He drills Mikey on footwork for several days. By the day of the date, Mikey has never been smoother on his feet.
~~~
Mikey watches nervously as you emerge onto the roof of your apartment building. He sees your eyes soften as you take in the candles along the edge of the roof and the rug he found to lay down as a makeshift dance floor. The elation he feels at knowing you like it so far almost makes him whoop, but he manages to suppress it in time. Be a gentleman! He repeats Leo’s words in his head as he approaches you.
He picks up your hand and lowers his head to kiss it, keeping his eyes on yours. “My lady,” he purrs, and is rewarded when your eyes widen and your breath catches. “May I have this dance?”
You visibly swallow, and he has to tamp down another whoop of joy. He is killing it today. “You may, good sir,” you reply a little breathlessly. Mikey grins at you and escorts you to the dance floor, hitting play on the boombox he has set up on a nearby air conditioning unit.
The classical tune he’d chosen weaves around the two of you as you assume the beginning position of a waltz. It is at this point that Mikey realizes two things.
Dances have steps.
He never learned the steps.
Mikey’s face must be reflecting his panic, because you pause and regard him for a moment before your lips twitch. “Forget something darling?” Your drawled question has Mikey’s face growing hot as he hangs his head in shame.
“Hey, hey, none of that now,” you release his hand so that you can lift his head. “How about I teach you the steps?” You smile encouragingly at him. “I would love to teach you so that we can dance together.”
Mikey’s embarrassment slowly eases as you lead him through how to do a basic box waltz. You are endlessly warm and patient, showing no signs of irritation at all. Mikey is grateful for the footwork training Leo gave him, it is coming in handy now.
By the time you need to leave, the two of you are able to do a shaky waltz around the roof. Mikey’s embarrassment is gone, replaced with happiness and awe at how amazing you are. He once again brings your hand to his lips. “Angel,” he purrs, then releases your hand to cup your cheek. “Thanks for your patience.” He looks down, still a little bashful about his ridiculous blunder.
You once again reach out and raise his head. This time you lean up and kiss him tenderly on the cheek. “Thank you for this date! It was perfect.” Mikey beams down at you as you smile up at him.
It’s at this moment that he knows you’re the one for him.
Little Baby Man’s Day Out
Continued from this post.
At the dog park
Damien and Titus are calmly walking through Gotham Dog Park. Normally, the walk is calming and centering, but today there’s a strange feeling in the air. Not a feeling of danger, but a feeling that something is not quite right.
Titus pulls Damian towards a tree. As they get closer, he notices a small wooden house on the ground beneath the tree. It looks like a model that someone put a lot of love and care into making. It’s blue with a brown multi-gabled roof. There are even little curtains hanging in the windows and realistic-looking miniature furniture.
Unfortunately, the house is now broken into several pieces, and the tiny sofa that once belonged inside the house has been chewed to shreds.
When Titus reaches base of the tree, he sits down and stares upwards into the tree branches. Now that they’ve gotten closer, Damian notices that he can hear a strange sound coming from the treetop.
Looking up toward the tree, Damian catches sight of a small black and white object. As Damian stares upward, trying to figure out what it is, the object begins to move. As it unfolds itself, Damian notices that, whatever it is: 1) It’s small. Maybe 3 inches tall. 2) It has an odd coloring. White, green, and black. And 3) it's sobbing. Big tears are streaming from its glowing green eyes.
This creature clearly needs help and Damian is the only one around who can do it!
Slowly, Damian climbs up the tree while talking to the creature in a calm voice. As he gets closer to the animal, he can make out more of its features. It has large ears, a tail, and... hands?
It’s a small humanoid! It has snow-white hair and minty green skin, and it’s wearing some kind of black jumpsuit.
“Hello. Who are you?”
The creature looks at him with big, watery eyes. “Chirrup.”
“Can you talk?” “Chirp-chip-chip-eek!”
“Are you alone?” “Cheeeeep!”
In a flurry of motion, the creature flies toward him and huddles down into his hair.
“I guess you’re coming with me.”
Damian quickly jumps down from the tree. As he stoops to pick up Titus’s leash, the creature begins to chirp again. It leaves his hair and floats down to the wreckage of the toy house. Looking sad, it tries to right the toy bed but quickly gives up. Disappearing into the remains of the house, it pulls out a small teal blanket and wraps the material around itself.
Damian reaches down to the small being. It climbs onto his hand, and together, the three quickly continue on their walk. It’s already 4:30, and they need to get home before dusk.
Jazz’s Room
Thank the Ancients for making the Manson family rich! Sam managed to get the Booo-merang delivered in under two hours.
How did she manage that? It should have taken at least five hours. And the delivery guy showed up on a scooter!
Jazz can’t waste any more time thinking about that. The sun’s starting to set!
Oh, no! She can’t wander around by herself at night in Gotham! She’ll be killed! But Danny’s out there, all alone. Thankfully, she brought the Fenton Creepstick with her when she moved in.
It’s time to find her little brother!
No matter the circumstances, Aubrey has always been the kind to enjoy every little thing in his life.
If life gave him lemons, he would learn to appreciate its zesty scent (the scent of which would always remind him of his late grandmother's refreshing tarte au citron).
If life dealt him thorny bushes, he would carefully navigate his way around them to find succulent, honeyed jewels of raspberries; for those are his favourite autumn treats.
very messy roughs of my interpretation of a younger tails! i imagine after sonic had really settled with taking care of tails he struggled to find clothes and protective gear that would fit him bc he is so eenie weenie... the gloves r too big so they are tied on at the wrist and tails is a little clumsy when he runs bc the sneaks r a size too big. i think he grows into it pretty fast tho. and the little headscarf is just something tails wears when they go into cities/crowded areas because it gives him a sense of security :)
