"You may retire to your recess."
Without waiting for any further response from teacher Maria, I took my best friend's hand and my glass of cold coffee and we left the room.
Since we arrived at Italian class in the middle of the day, Daniela repeatedly insisted that at recess time, I had to accompany her to the school cafeteria, since she had not had breakfast.
The Italian teacher was very strict with schedules, so we knew we only had fifteen minutes to get some food (and a candy for me) and another fifteen minutes to eat in peace.
"Do you want to go to the bathroom first?" asked Daniela stopping in front of the bathroom door as I rearranged my top.
"Dani, we don't even have time to eat" we both laughed as I took her hand and dragged her to the main hallway that connected the five buildings on the inside. "Besides, if we don't go right now and we go in the middle of class, the teacher can't ask us any of the vocabulary questions."
"Agh, I know. The lady thinks for some strange reason, we had ALL weekend to study irregular verbs, doesn't she know that her subject is a complementary to my college degree?" we both laughed.
"She's crazy, did you see how she looked at me when I answered 'io vorrei' wrong?"
Before Daniela could answer me, next to her, a woman passed by, with a fair complexion, a big but pretty nose, and beautiful brown hair.
I could see her moving her head from side to side. She was looking for something.
Many people would say it was 'chivalry', my friends (Daniela) that I'm a fucking flirt, but I would say, it was both and neither.
I quickly let go of Daniela's arm, turned and reached for the poor woman.
"Hi, hey, do you need help?"
My stomach turned when I saw her eyes. Oh, my mother. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever met.
"Hi, excuse me, do any of you know how to get to the literary studies department?"
That's when I was grateful for studying 'literature' in college. "Oh sure, if you want we can take you there."
I couldn't see her, but I could even notice Daniela's panicked look behind my back.
"Oh, no need, I just don't know which building it's in" commented the woman with a nervous chuckle as she crumpled a piece of paper in her hands.
"We have no problem accompanying you. These hallways can be confusing" The woman gave me a charming smile, to which I responded and we both set out to walk from building 'D' to 'A'. "By the way, my name is Y/N and this is my friend Daniela."
For the first time, the woman looked directly at my friend and my friend just said a small 'hello' and raised her hand in greeting.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Melina."
"Do you study here, Melina?"
Damn, saying her name was completely addictive.
"Not really. Do you?"
"Yes, we are in our third semester of college."
"Third semester, they look so young" she commented raising an eyebrow.
"Well, thank you, but, that doesn't take my years off."
We both laughed while Daniela just followed us without mentioning anything.
After a few minutes, we arrived at the site, where we were quickly greeted by Sabrina, the department secretary.
"Hi Sabrina, how are you?" opened the door Daniela and let us in, as she waved.
"Hi girls, well thank you, how about you?"
"Well, thank you very much for asking."
"Melina, this is Sabrina, the secretary of the study department."
"You are Melina Vostokoff?"
"That's right."
"Oh, Mr. Hudson is busy, but he'll be able to see you in a few minutes, would you like some coffee or something?"
"coffee be excellent" before she sat down in the waiting room, she put down her bag and looked at me and my friend. "Do you have classes to go to?"
"Yes…" Dani spoke
"No," I said.
She looked at us confused.
"Well, actually, we do have classes, but, it's nothing major."
"You know what" Daniela interrupted me "Can we have a few minutes?" she asked Melina "We want to go to the bathroom."
"I don't want to."
Daniela pinched me causing me to gasp.
"If you want."
She took my hand and dragged me to the bathrooms.
"Look, Y/N I don't know what you're up to and if you want to continue being a flirty fucking whore, but, we absolutely cannot skip Italian class, just because you want to stick your tongue down that woman's throat."
"Daniela, don't be a spoilsport, what can happen if we don't show up for the second half?"
"I don't know and I don't even want to find out. Let's go," she tried to grab my arm and pull me, but I held on to the door frame.
"I'm not leaving."
"Y/N, please let's go."
"No Daniela, if you want to go, go ahead, but I'm not leaving."
Daniela just frowned, pursed her lips, looked me up and down as her face turned red as a tomato. She was furious. But she left.
I walked over to the sink, drank some water and combed my hair and checked my makeup and clothes and walked out of the bathroom.
I entered the study department again and found a Melina sipping coffee, while on the coffee table, there was another coffee and multiple cookies.
"Oh, I asked Sabrina for another coffee, in case you'd like some."
"Thank you."
I sat down and quickly took a sip.
"Where is your friend?"
"She had to go."
We were both silent for a while, until a doubt came to me.
"May I know what you're going to talk to Mr. Hudson for?"
"I was hired to teach the Russian literature class."
Several of my friends were in French, Spanish, Latin American and other literature classes. But none of them had gotten into Russian, no one was interested.
"Oh, it sounds very interesting."
"Are you going into the classroom?"
"Of course. My favorite author is Russian"
"Really, who is it?"
"Vladimir Lenin"
"Excuse me, Mrs. Vostokoff," Sabrina interrupted us. "Mr. Hudson is ready to receive you."
"Oh thank you" she gathered her belongings and before walking to Professor Hudson's office, she turned to see me "Thank you so much for helping me."
"You're welcome, Mrs. Vostokoff," I winked at her, eliciting a chuckle.
She walked a few steps, so I turned to go back to my classroom, but her voice stopped me.
"Oh, by the way, Lenin was a politician. Not a writer."
———————————————————————————
"
Well boys, that concludes today's class."
As I watched all my classmates gather their things and head out the door. I grabbed my notebook, pen and cell phone and stuffed it in my bag, but I stood watching as Melina began to close her laptop.
"Do you need anything T/N?"
"I wanted to ask if…can I buy you breakfast?"
She stopped putting her things away and looked me straight in the eye.
"Invite me, where to?"
"I know a coffee shop that's near here."
"Good" She finished putting her things away and put on her brown trench coat, it matched his eyes. Carefully, he rested her right hand on my left cheek and stroked my cheekbone with her thumb. "How many times have I told you to stop calling me 'you'?"
———————————————————————————
I could confirm that I was fully in love with Melina Vostokoff.
For years I found it disgusting to eat in the company of someone outside my family circle. Because even when I was across the table, I could hear people chewing and swallowing; some even do it with their mouths open. It made me very, very disgusted.
But to see the Russian's white cheeks puffy from chewing her waffles, while her right hand tried to hide her mouth. Her eyes were on mine and her cheeks showed the shadow of a smile.
It was completely adorable.
"Can I tell you something?" asked Melina.
Her voice snapped me out of my trance and forced me to continue eating.
"Sure" I took a sip of my coffee.
"I think it was a bad idea for you to stick my subject into your schedule."
I choked on my coffee, sending me into a coughing fit. She quickly patted my back, causing my cheeks to redden.
"Why do you say that?"
"Are you kidding Y/N?" she guffawed "You suck at remembering anything about Russian literature. I bet you don't even remember one Russian author."
I could not help but laugh. She knew me.
"You're right, I suck."
"So… why are you taking the class?"
"Would you believe me if I told you I was getting into the class…for you?"
She stopped cutting her waffle and looked at me with wide eyes.
"Me?"
"Forgive me, but, you are too beautiful to see from afar."
Before she could answer me, her cell phone started ringing.
She pulled it out and quickly answered.
"Hey honey, is everything okay?" shit, she had a husband, why didn't I think of that great possibility, a woman like her who was single? impossible. "Hey, it's okay, when I get home I'll work it out. I promise. I love you" she hung up.
"Forgive me, I shouldn't have told you what I said. I don't want to interfere in your marriage…" I began to ramble as I tried to put the silverware down on the plate. My hands were shaking, but, she took one between hers.
"Marriage?"
"Ahh, it's not…" point to her cell phone on the table with my eyes.
"She was my oldest daughter, Natasha."
———————————————————————————
I knocked on the door three times, and as I listened to the footsteps approaching the door, I arranged my dress and the bouquet of flowers in my hand.
The door opened with a crash.
"Y/N!"
"Yelena"
The little girl jumped into my arms, and even with my hands fully occupied, I was able to carry her.
"Are you coming to see mom?"
"Don't tell your mom, but I'm coming to see you, best friend."
With my index finger, I tapped her nose, causing her to wrinkle it.
"I promise."
"Hello, pretty girl."
Melina came downstairs wearing a white knit sweater I had given her last Christmas and some pants I had helped her buy. They hugged her hips in a phenomenal way. Her butt looked so sexy with them on.
"How are you?" I asked as I stole a kiss . "Iugh" Yelena made noise as if she was going to throw up. Causing me to let go of Melina and tickle the blonde girl.
"Come on little girl, I brought gifts for you and your sister."
"YEI, Nattie, Y/N brought gifts!"
The teenager's footsteps came down to us as her sister began to unwrap her new barbie.
"Hello Y/N"
"Hello red"
Red was my nickname for her. She would only let me call her that.
"What did you bring?"
"I figured you'd like a new skateboard…"
"Are you kidding!"
"Of course not" from the bag I pulled out Natasha's new skateboard, causing the little girl to let out a small squeal.
"Ah Y/N, thank you so much!" She grabbed the skateboard to hug me. I hugged her back. "I love you so much!"
"Did you already say thank you, Yelena?" asked Melina as she did her mom pose. Putting her hands on her waist.
"Thank you so much, Y/N" she also ran to hug me. "I love you."
"I love you too, love bugs…but go play, seize the day."
I didn't have to say it twice for them to run away.
"You didn't have to give them anything," Melina said.
"I know, but, I didn't want to leave my favorite girls without a gift."
"So your favorite girls, huh?"
"Hey, don't be jealous. You're my special girl too" I gave her the bouquet of roses and sunflowers I had bought especially for her.
I saw how her eyes sparkled and she brought her face close to smell the flowers.
"Have I told you that I love you?"
"Did I tell you?"
"Not that I remember," she joked.
"I love you, then."
"I love you so much more."

Imagine You Joining The Avengers And Natasha Having A Huge Crush On You
MASTERLIST ↠ NATASHA ROMANOFF MASTERLIST
Summary: Basically the title 🤪
Warnings: swearing, implied sex
↠↠↠
Tumblr media
EARLY STAGES
- When you first join the avengers, Natasha would be apprehensive around you
- You think that it's because you're the new girl
- You try to be as nice as possible to her
- Leaving her a protein shake after her workouts
- Making sure that her peanut butter sandwiches didn't have any crusts
- and that every single part of the bread was smeared with peanut butter
- Bringing her favorite snacks & drinks to her door when she had a huge workload
- You didn't know why you wanted to do those things
- but you saw how her eyes lit up whenever she found something you left for her
- and it made you feel happy
- Whenever you smiled at her, Natasha could feel her entire body heat up as she blushed bright red
- The team OBVIOUSLY took note of that and would tease her constantly
- One very terrible teasing session caused someone from the team to go the med bay
- Not gonna name who...
- *cough* Tony *cough*
- It was after a huge party that Tony threw did Natasha finally open up to you
- You had inadvertently saved her from a very drunk and extremely creepy douchebag who couldn't take no for an answer
- After you pulled her away, the two of you stayed at the bar while you threw every pick up line imaginable at her
- and each time, she would throw her head back, squeezing her eyes shut as she laughed
- "Excuse me.... But did you come from the vending machine? 'Cause you are a snack!" ~Y/N
- "Oh god! That's terrible!!" ~ Nat
- "Right?! I don't get how guys think that'll work?!" ~Y/N
- "Did you just come out of the oven? 'Cause you're hot!" ~Y/N
- *gagging noises* ~ Nat
- "You're definitely on my To-Do list tonight..." ~Y/N
- "Ew..... Do another one..." ~ Nat
- and by the end of the night, the two of you were wheezing al the laughing
- After that, the two of you became attached to the hip
- Whenever someone from the team couldn't find you, they would look for Natasha and vice versa
- One time, Steve had found both you and Nat hanging upside down from a tree while you taught her how to play 'Patty Cake'
- Another time, Wanda found the two of you reading each other's' favorite stories just so you could fully understand what the other was talking about
REALIZING
- It wasn't until much later on in your friendship –8 months– with Natasha, did she finally understand why her heart would beat faster whenever you were in the same room as her
- Or why she felt angry whenever you went out with someone that wasn't her
- Or why sometimes she would have to physically restrain herself from wanting to kiss your pout when she rejected watching a rom-com
- It finally dawned on her after she spoke with Clint
- *cough* more like Clint slapped some sense into her *cough*
- "Clint! I think I might be sick..." ~ Nat
- "What?! Why?" ~ Clint
- "I dunno... My stomach gets twisted into knots and my heart beats really fast sometimes..." ~ Nat
- "Lemme ask you, does this all happen when Y/N is around?" ~ Clint
- "Yeah why? *gasp* You don't think she's drugging me do you?!" ~ Nat
- "N-no... I don't think that our sweet little avenger would be drugging you...." ~ Clint
- "Then what is it??!!?!" ~ Nat
- "How are you such a good spy and yet so oblivious and naïve when it comes to feelings?" ~ Clint
- "Wha-?" ~ Nat
- "You have a crush on N/N, dumb dumb!!!" ~ Clint
- "What?! No I don't!!" ~ Nat
- "You said that she had the breasts of a Greek goddess!" ~ Clint
- "What!? When???"
*flashback*
- When the team first began discussing whether they should accept you into the avengers or not
- Natasha may have let something slip
- "C'mon!! She can't join us!!!" ~ Tony
- "Why not, Tony?" ~ Steve
- "Are you kidding me?! That woman has the nose of a bloodhound!" ~ Tony
- "And the breasts of a Greek goddess..." ~ Nat
- "...Nat...?" ~ Clint *end flashback*
- "Oh my god!!" ~ Nat
AVOIDANCE
- After finding out, Natasha avoids you as much as she can
- You're confused thinking you did something wrong
- Every time you would enter a room, Natasha would flee immediately
- the only thing convincing you that you didn't imagine her would whatever she had left behind when fleeing
CONFRONTATION
- It took weeks before you were able to corner Natasha
- She had been taking a shower when you quite literally barged into her bathroom
- You didn't care anymore
- You had waited long enough
- You pushed her against the wall, still fully clothed questioning her
- "Why are you avoiding me?!" ~Y/N
- "W-what the fuck are you doing in here?!?! I'm taking a shower!" ~ Nat
- "Well, you have been avoiding me for practically 2 months now!!! I wanna know what I did wrong!!" ~Y/N
- "You mean besides coming here while I'm showering?!?!" ~ Nat
- "Nat please! I miss cuddling together under a fort we made during movie nights!! I miss 3am baking!! I miss complaining about every dumb move the Kardashians make! I miss our friendship!" ~Y/N
- "That's just it!! I don't want to be just friends!!" ~ Nat
- "W-what?" ~Y/N
- "I lo- like you!!! A lot... and I can't stand being just friends with you!!!" ~ Nat
- "I love you too, Nat...." ~Y/N
- "You do...?" ~ Nat
- She would have the most vulnerable look in her eyes
- her eyes would be glassy with tears as her bottom lip trembled slightly
- "Yeah... I was terrified that I was the only one..." ~Y/N
- You would lean in slightly when you'd stop
- "Can I kiss you?" ~Y/N
- "Yeah..." ~ Nat
- Consent = 🥵🥵
- The two of you would spend hours in the shower...
- 😉😉😏😏
AFTERMATH
- Natasha would be the best girlfriend
- Peppering your face with kisses every morning to wake you up
- Bringing you, your favorite flowers whenever you two had a date
- which was every week
- Reading you stories like 'Little Women' when you couldn't sleep
- Her calling you Russian pet names will never fail to make you blush
- "Morning, moya lyubov'! Did you sleep well?" ~ Nat
- "Thank you, detka!" ~ Nat
- "Ya tebya lyublyu, dorogoy..." ~ Nat
- And in turn you were just as good as a girlfriend to her
- Comforting her whenever she would have a nightmare about her past
- Sitting next to her in the shower, the both of you fully clothed, when a mission goes sideways and agents had died
- "It's all my fault..." ~ Nat
- "No it's not" ~Y/N
- "It is!! I was in charge! And I let them die..." ~ Nat
- "Babe, you did everything you could. The intel you got from the mission was clearly altered and it was a trap! You brought back as many people as you could and you saved over 20 kids from getting trafficked! That's a huge win. And yeah, it sucks that agents died, but I know that they would be proud that they sacrificed their lives so that those kids will have a better life! You're not gonna feel better sitting here feeling sorry, you have to honor what those agents did and thank them." ~Y/N
- "I love you so much, detka. Thank you for being here." ~ Nat
- "'Course... where else would I be? And I love you so much too." ~Y/N
- Reassuring her that she had wiped her ledger squeaky clean
- Of course she still had her moments of doubt but you were always there guiding her through it
- Learning Russian so the two of you could have full on conversations without the team understanding a single word
MEETING THE WIDOW FAM
- Meeting Yelena for the first and getting along amazingly
- the two of you would be working together to prank everybody
- like one time, the two of you painted all of Tony's Iron Man suits Captain America colors
- Or another time where you wrapped Sam's room in saran wrap
- took him nearly 4 hours just to cut through everything you guys wrapped
- When you met Melina and Alexei, the two were cautious around you
- but they soon opened up to you when they realized that you weren't gonna harm them
- Exchanging recipes with Melina
- Drinking contests with Alexei which left you drunk as hell and regretting your life decision the next morning
- It was safe to say that Natasha was head over heels for you
- and you for her
- And that was all that mattered to anybody

Lightning Bug - Chapter 28
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Warnings: usage of a gun (training), fluff, mention of past trauma
Word Count: 3.8k
You tightened the straps on your backpack as you waited for Natasha and Wanda. There was a knot forming in your stomach. They were excited to meet you, but what if you disappointed them? What if they weren’t happy with who you are? “Hey,” Wanda placed her hands on her shoulders. “Breath. Take a few deep breaths for me.” You nodded and did that. “Good,” you turned to face her. “What’s going through your head?” You sighed, biting your lip. “What’s going through your head?” You sighed, biting your head.
“What if they don’t like me?” You whispered. It seemed ridiculous to say out loud. “I’m a little nervous.” Wanda nodded.
“I was too when I first met them,” she pushed some of your hair behind your ear. “They will love you. Just be you.”
“And take everything Alexei says with a grain of salt,” Natasha rushed over to you as the doors opened and the ramp came out. Natasha told you they had to part the jet a little further away from the house because Melina doesn’t want the jet’s engine to scare the animals. You descended the ramp and hoped the walk would calm your anxiety, but it became worse. Each step you took made your heart pound faster and faster.
The property remained you of the Barton’s homestead but more rustic. There was a main house with multiple outdoor buildings. As you got closer, you could smell and hear the pigs. “There they are!” A booming voice echoed through the quiet land. It came from a man with a thick beard wearing overalls.
“Yebat’ (fuck),” Natasha mumbled and pushed you behind her. Your body tensed up as you watched the man run over to the three of you. “Alexei, no,” Natasha warned.
“Natalia, my pride and joy,” he looked at Wanda. “Wanda, hopefully, my soon-to-be daughter-in-law,” you saw the couple in front of you tense up. “Move. I’d like to see moya vnucka (my granddaughter).” You weren’t sure what that word was.
“Not with that energy,” Wanda said. “Bring it down a little, or you’ll scare her off.” The man gasped.
“I would never! I’m her dedushka (grandpa). We are destined to be side by side like in American movies,” you peeked your head from behind the couple and saw a woman walking out of the house. Her black hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and her arms were crossed against her chest. Suddenly, the man’s face was in front of yours.
“Hi,” he said. You yelped and fell to the ground, startled by his sudden appearance. “You’re so small.” He pushed past the couple and grabbed you by the arms, lifting you like you weighed nothing. “I could put you in my pocket.” The man hugged you tight. “I am your dedushka (grandpa). I can not wait to tell you all about my glory days.” The man swayed you from side to side, and your body went tense, frozen. Even Wanda and Natasha’s voice turned to white noise. You felt a pressure building that started in your chest. You had to hold it in; the charge would kill the man holding you.
“Alexei, vinz (down),” a new voice broke through the fog. “She is not a toy.” The man gently set you down, and you were shaky on your legs. The man looked apologetic, scratching the back of his head. You were sure Natasha was asking if you were okay, but your eyes stayed trained on the newest addition to the group. She grabbed hold of your chin, moving your head from side to side. “Alexei’s right. You are too small. Is Natalia not feeding you?”
“Mama,” the read head groaned. “She’s eating.”
“Not enough. Come, I’ll cook you something,” she dragged you towards the house, but you dug your feet into the ground.
“Wait,” your voice shook, and everyone’s eyes trained on you. “I need,” air couldn’t get into your lungs. “Nat,” you gasped. “Help.” Quickly, she opened her bag and pulled out a battery. She placed it in your hands and knelt in front of you. You wanted to yell at her to get back. To run because you were afraid to hurt her, but the words died on your lips. She sensed your hesitation.
“I got you, molniyenosnyy zhuk (lightning bug). Let go,” (release the energy). You slumped against Natasha, and her arms wrapped around you. “That was a big one. Take a minute, okay,” you nodded and focused on Natasha’s hand, rubbing circles on your back.
“Did I hurt anyone?” You whispered.
“No, Wanda pushed Melina and Alexei back with her powers.” Good. That was good. You stood up straighter and saw Natasha smiling at you. She pushed a few strands of your hair stuck to your forehead from sweat. You felt hot and hungry.
“Hi,” Wanda stood next to you, and you rested your head on her chest. “How are you feeling?” You huffed.
“Better,” you admitted. “Sorry, that was embarrassing.”
“I think someone else should apologize,” you turned around to see the duo walk back to you. The woman hit Alexei.
“Sorry about that. I was excited to meet you.” The man’s cheeks were flushed.
“It’s okay,” you smiled. “Hi, by the way.” you waved.
“Melina, Alexei,” Natasha placed a gentle hand on your shoulder. “This is Y/n, our daughter,” your stomach flipped at that. You loved having someone be proud enough of you to call you their daughter.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Melina smiled. “We’ve heard great things about you,” her eyes pointed at you. “I still think you are too small.”
“Mama!”
*
“They are so cute!” You stood on the wooden pen for the pigs and watched Alexei chase after the piglets. They wanted nothing to do with him. Natasha laughed.
“Come on, Red Guardian! Didn’t you fight Captain America and win? Catching a pig for your vnucka (granddaughter),” you giggled and watched the man’s face twist with determination. You learned vnucka, which is translated to granddaughter, and the Russian words for grandma and grandpa are dedushka and babushka. Alexei was adamant about you calling him Dedushka. Melina shoved three bowls of chowder before she thought you were ready to explore.
“I got one!” A pig was pushed into your arms, and Natasha had to catch you before you fell off the fence.
“Alexei! What have I told you about manhandling my pigs?” You heard Melina call out and missed the murderous glare Natasha sent Alexei, too distracted by the little pig in your arms. It took a while for the creature to settle in your arms, but soon it pushed against your chest for warmth.
“It’s so tiny,” you whispered, so afraid to disturb the little creature in your arms. A weird feeling bloomed in your chest. It was strange how much faith the animal had in you. The pig trusted you to hold it close and protect it. Such blind faith. It was a little ridiculous, but it reminded you of yourself. You put faith in your parents and the man from HYDRA who promised you a better life. Now you were doing it with the Avengers. Was it wise to do it again? The third time is the charm, right? “What’s got you thinking so hard?” Natasha asked, running her hand over your head. You glanced up. She was smiling. Her eyes sparkled with love; sometimes, you forgot how much she cared about you. You smiled.
“Just, uh, thinking about life,” she chuckled, kissing your forehead. You basked in the warmth she provided.
“Never change, dorogoy (sweetheart),” you looked at her confused. “After everything you’ve been through, your heart is still good.” You frowned, unsure if that was true. You protected the pig with one hand as you climbed over the pen and placed the animal on the ground. It looked confused, turned to face, and ran to bury itself between your legs. You chuckled, pushing the creature towards its family. However, the piglet ran back to you.
“What’s going on, little one?” You asked, scratching its chin. “Why don’t you want to join your friends?”
“It’s the runt,” Melina said. You glanced over at her. “The others pick on it.” You frowned and sat down. The piglet climbed onto your lap and looked up at you.
“I was a runt, too,” you spoke softly. Your hand never stopped petting it. “I think we grow up to be the strongest of the group because we have to fight every single day just to survive,” you sighed. “And that can be scary, but I promise little one, everything will turn out just fine.” You felt a little crazy speaking to an animal, but the little pig seemed to understand. It glanced at the other pigs and back to you before joining them. You smiled and stood up. Wanda and Natasha were watching you with a smile. Yeah, everything was turning out just fine.
*
It was a long day. With the emotional trip to Sokovia and the surprise display of power, Wanda and Y/n were taking a nap before dinner. Alexei was outside finishing the chores he promised Melina that would be done, but due to the excitement, they slipped his mind. So Natasha was left to help prepare dinner with Melina. Sometimes, Natasha had to pinch herself to remind herself this was real. That the woman chose to be here, decided to be her mother, and that the Red Room wasn’t orchestrating this. It’s not another mission. This was real. It took a while for her to trust Melina and Alexei again. Yelena was the critical factor to help mend the relationship. She knew it was Yelena’s desperate attempt to have a real family. “It looks good on you,” Melina said, standing over the sauce for the beef stroganoff. Natasha hummed in question, focusing on chopping up the spices. “Motherhood. You fall into the role naturally.”
“You sound surprised,” she glanced over her shoulder, but Melina’s back was to her.
“Not surprised at all. You are a khameleon (chameleon). You adapt. It was like that in Ohio, the Red Room, and now with the Avengers,” Natasha wasn’t sure if what Melina said was a compliment. She turned to face the older Black Widow, and Melina looked at her. “Why do you look offended?”
“I’m not sure if I should take what you said as a compliment.”
“No?” She tilted her head. “You were always sensitive to that.” Melina walked over to the cutting board she was using and took it back to the pot. “I was trying to say it’s hard for us to be mothers, people like you and me.”
“Why is it hard?” She saw Melina’s stutter as she added the freshly chopped herbs into the pot.
“Because that choice was taken away from us,” Subconsciously, Natasha placed her hand where her scar was. The serum healed all of it, but she would never forget where it was. She dropped her hand when Melina turned back around to hand her the cutting board. “But you are doing good. Does that happen often with her powers?” Natasha shook her head.
“Not since she started training with Maria,” Natasha began cleaning the dishes she no longer needed. The farmhouse needed to be equipped with a dishwasher; she preferred to do it by hand. It kept her busy.
“Is she training to be an Avenger?”
“No, I mean she could join the team if she wants, but we are focusing on helping her control her powers,” Or help her fight this new threat that was possibly coming. She would have a long chat with Vision when she got back.
“Are you and Wanda going to have more children?” Natasha felt her cheeks warm up. “I would like to have more grandchildren to spoil.”
“Mama! We just adopted her. Give us some time.” Melina chuckled and wiped her hands on a dish towel. The gentle hand of Melina on her shoulder caused Natasha’s body to go rigid, but she turned around to face her. The woman places both hands on her cheeks.
“Throughout our entire life, every choice was made for us,” her voice was so soft Natasha had to remind herself who was speaking to her. “But you chose to be that little girl’s mama, and being a mother is the greatest gift. Cherish it.” It was hard for Natasha to look past the betrayal towards Alexei and Melina. Melina was the only mother she knew since the Red Room took her biological one away. Melina was part of the system that kept hundreds of girls trapped even when she was trapped herself.
The sudden moment was interpreted by the crack of a gun going off; the duo separated immediately. “There is a pistol in the umbrella holder by the back door,” Melina said suddenly. She nodded and raced to where Melina told her. It wasn’t surprising to her that weapons were scattered around the house. Once her hand came into contact with the metal, she remembered to take a few calming breaths. The list of enemies was long and still growing. No matter who was here, no one was taking her family from her.
She kicked the back door open and expected to see the backyard filled with enemies racing towards the house or Alexei fighting them off. No. Instead, she saw Alexei and Y/n at the gun range for Widows that stayed on the farm. There was a pistol in the teen’s hand, and the gun going off two more times caused goosebumps to form on her arm.
“Alexei, what the fuck are you doing?”
*
You spun around to see two very angry Black Widows armed with a pistol and a rifle. Safety placed the gun down like Alexei and Maria showed you, and you ran over to Natasha. “Nat, come look!” It was enough time for her to hand the pistol to Melina before you dragged her over to the makeshift gun range. “Look how well I did!” You were proud of your grouping: two head shots and two in the shot. You looked back at Natasha and your smile. “You look upset.”
“Of course I’m upset. Melina and I thought we were being attacked,” you cringed and glanced at Melina and Alexei. The older woman was radially speaking in Russian and heard the word ‘idiot’ a few times. Suddenly, the back door of the house busted open. Wanda’s eyes were glowing red, and her magic danced on her fingers. It died down when she saw her family and no threat.
“Oh, I’m in so much trouble.” Natasha grabbed your arm and dragged you back over.
“Explain, both of you,” Melina said when Wanda jogged over. You and Alexei shared a look.
“I woke up and heard you and Natasha talking in the kitchen,” you said slowly. “I went outside to explore, and Alexei, I mean dedushka,” you saw his smile from the corner of your eye. “Saw me walking around the training area. He said you made it for the Widows that sometimes stay here,” you knew it had to do with some rehabilitation program Yelena set up, but the details were fuzzy. It took a lot of work to follow any story Alexei told. “I asked him if he could teach me how to shoot a gun.” The two Black Widows said something in Russian that was not part of your daily language lesson, but Alexei cringed. Natasha stared down the man.
“And you thought it was a good idea.”
“Her mama, babushka, and tetya (aunt) are all Black Widows. She should know her way around a gun,” it was a fair agreement to make. “She gave me very good-” he snapped his fingers. “What’s the word? When the eyes get small and sad?”
“Puppy dog eyes,” Wanda said with a smirk. Alexei pointed at the witch. “She tends to use them to get something she wants,” you opened your mouth to argue, but the witch gave you a pointed look. You thought it was best to keep your mouth shut. “I was unaware you had any form of gun training.” She said to Alexei, who gasped in offense.
“I will have you know the Red Guardian is well-versed in many weapons. Guns, knives, rocket launcher,” your eyes widened, and you looked at him, excitement bubbling in your chest. “No!” He shot you down. “Do you see how much trouble we are in?” You slowly looked back at the trio.
“On a scale of 1 -10, how much trouble am I in?” You asked, staring at the ground, unable to look at the three women. Natasha sighed.
“You will be doing dishes for the rest of our trip,” you nodded. That was fair. Gently, Natasha lifted your head, and you stared into her green eyes. “No more weapon training without telling us.”
“Sorry,” you mumbled, but the redhead kissed your forehead and hugged you. She smelt of garlic and onions.
“Scared the hell out of me, kid,” you nodded again. It wasn’t your intention, and you weren’t thinking when you asked Alexei. You felt tears form at the corner of your eyes, and she needed the hug far too soon for your liking. “Let’s see this grouping again.”
“What?” You questioned. Natasha pushed away a tear that escaped down your cheek.
“I’d like to see you shoot again. Make sure Alexei taught you correctly,” the man gasped, and it made you laugh. Before you picked up the gun, you apologized to Melina and hugged Wanda. With the short time you held a gun in your hand and shot it, it wasn’t your preferred weapon. However, with so many Black Widows in your life, you were going to keep that information to yourself.
*
Once the dishes were cleaned from dinner, it was another early night, but you could not sleep. Your sleep schedule was messed up with the time difference and the nap you took. So you got out of bed and walked out of the guest room. Melina had a bookshelf next to the dining room that you’ve been dying to look through. Many of the books in her collection were not in English, but you could tell they were science books. Your eyes found a photo album. Curiosity, you grabbed the album and flipped through it. Every photo was of two young girls: one blonde and one brunette. The images captured moments from Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. “It’s not a good idea to snoop in a Black Widow’s home,” you jumped at Melina’s voice, almost dropping the album.
“It’s also not a good idea to sneak up on someone.” The Black Widow chuckled, and you put the album away, but Melina grabbed it and walked over to the dining room table. Wordlessly, you followed her and sat down.
“Do you know how I became Natalie’s and Yelena’s mama?”
“Kind of. Yelena said a mission brought all of you together.” Melina nodded; the photo album was stopped on Christmas. “I didn’t ask specifics.”
“The Red Room needed agents to act as an American family to steal some classified information,” she traced the faces of each little girl. “When the mission was over, we gave them back.”
“Why are you telling me this?” You questioned. Melina closed the album and placed her hands on top of it. She was staring intently at you, and you felt small under her gaze.
“I wasn’t the mother my girls needed,” you frowned and took her hand. You flipped it over so you could trace the lines on her palm. Her facial expressions softened at the gesture.
“Are you the mother they deserve now?”
“I do not know,” she admitted. “But I’m trying to be. Not all of us get the chance to get two,” you understood that. You were lucky that you overslept that day, which landed you in the cafe simultaneously. If you were there at your regular time, you could still be living on the streets or bouncing between shelters. What a crazy what-if. “Never take it for granted.”
“I won’t,” you promised. “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to repay them.” Melina smiled softly.
“Love them as much as they love you,” the Black Widow said. “That will be more than enough.”
*
You were up early to help Melina work outside with the pigs and her small garden. It was hard work, but Melina filled it with stories of their time in Ohio. Even Wanda brought out breakfast and helped out. You told her that the dishes would get done after you helped Melina. You sat back on your knees and stretched your neck. Picking weeds out of the dirt was not your idea of a fun time, but it beat cleaning the pig pen or doing the dishes. The sun felt different out here compared to Iowa and New York. You liked it, and it made you think about what Natasha asked you about - living somewhere like this. Away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. A place where you could get your dog and have them run around the backyard. It was a good idea, maybe one day. “Mama, are you overworking my niece already?” Your head wiped towards the voice. Yelena and Kate were talking in the garden. You jumped to your feet and ran over to them. The couple caught you as you threw yourself at them.
“I didn’t know you were coming to visit!” You smiled.
“That’s because it was a surprise, bud.” Kate laughed.
“Did you think I would subject you to a full day of Alexei’s torment without me?” You giggled. “I heard you got into a little trouble.” You awkwardly shrugged. “Proud of you.”
“Yelena, do not corrupt my granddaughter,” the older Black Widow came over to greet the newcomers. “Kate, how are you? Is Yelena treating you well?” The archer blushed.
“Yes, Melina. I’m doing great.” The blonde’s mouth hung open slightly.
“Come, I’ll make you something.” Melina put her arm around Kate and led her to the house. “Yelena, close your mouth. You’ll eat a fly.” You used your pointer finger to close her mouth, and she slapped your hand away.
“Unbelievable,” Yelena said once her girlfriend and mother were out of earshot. “She likes the people we bring home more than her daughters.” You smiled and lopped your arms through hers. “How do you like Russia?” She asked as you both walked towards the house.
“I like it!” You said. It was the truth. “Just different than Iowa and the city.” Yelena hummed in agreement.
“It took me a while to learn that the differences we see make for a wonderful world.”

PICKPOCKET
Tumblr media
Yelena x F!Reader Masterlist
Word Count: 3,884
Summary: A taxi, an interview, a drink, and then an attempted abduction.
Warnings: fluff, it gets dark for like two seconds, a family of pickpockets, whoop whoop that’s the sound of da police.
The bustling streets of Cleveland were no match for someone 10 minutes late to an interview. This was your fifth job lined up this week, and you tanked the other four. You had no luck when it came to these things, and no one wants to hire someone without experience.
You have two weeks to figure something out, or else your landlord is kicking you from your tiny studio. It’s above a Chinese restaurant, so the smell and heat alone are not worth what she’s charging in rent. You know you don’t have any other options.
You find the corner you told the taxi to meet you at, but it is nowhere to be seen. You wait, no so patiently, biting the remnants of fingernails you have left. Like you said, you have no luck. You see the car stop at the red light across the intersection, and hope this driver doesn’t mind speeding.
You walk to the curb, raising your arm to hail the cab down. A blonde woman walks up in front of you, throwing her arm up walking backwards to match your stance. You have no clue what she’s doing; this taxi belongs to you.
“Excuse me?” You say, nudging past her to reach the car door faster. Her reflexes outmatch yours by a mile, she opens the door, sliding in. “I just thought, we share yeah?”
You stand holding the door open, looking side to side in disbelief. She can’t be serious. “Listen lady, I have an interview I’m already late for, I can’t do this today.” You plead.
You lean down to see the woman talking to the driver through the plexiglass. There’s no time to argue anymore. You slide into the black leather seat, slamming the door. “Me first.” You roll your eyes, jutting out the address of your destination.
The driver peels away, you take a chance to relax. Practiced questions go through your mind. You can’t mess this job up, you options were exhausted. You wipe your eyes, trying to ease the throbbing stress behind them. You pull your fingers away to see them covered in black streaks. Your eyes widen, you forgot you’re wearing makeup.
You grab your purse from beside you, searching for your bedazzled compact mirror. All of the contents of your bag were strewn across your lap, it’s gone. You throw your head back, grunting through your teeth. “What’s wrong?” Your co-passenger asks. You look over to her, the reason evident on your face.
“My mascara.” You say defeated. You know you must look like a pouting child to the woman. Her dark eyes give you pity, and her bottom lip puffs out. “Oh sweetie. I’ll help you.” She pulls a complimentary taxi tissue from the box between you. Wrapping it around her finger she test swipes under your eye.
You’re frozen in place, she’s absolutely gorgeous. You were too fogged by anger to even get a good look at her. If it wasn’t for her telling accent, you’d know she was foreign based on looks. No one from around here looked like her.
She reached forward with her other hand gently holding onto your chin; when a bump cause her fingers to run across your lips. Her eyes are focused on yours, meticulously wiping away the black lacquer. She pulls her tissued hand away, you think she’s finished. “How do I thank you?” You attempt to smile, she’s still holding your chin.
“Not finished.” She drops the tissue and licks her thumb, your eyebrows raise as she wipes just under your lip. “Lipstick.” She says casually, opting to wipe her finger on her shirt sleeve and not the tissue. You release a breath you didn’t know you were holding. “Thank you.” You’re too embarrassed now to attempt a conversation.
“No need to thank me, I do it gladly for a pretty woman like you.” You laugh out loud, you were the runt of the litter compared to her. “You don’t have to say that.” You say, letting your hair fall in your face. How did you go from hating this woman for making you later; to wanting her to kiss you?
“That will be 12 dollars.” The driver breaks you out of the daze she put you in. You nod your head, fishing for your debit card. The blonde woman reaches past you, taping to pay on his card reader. “Go crush that interview, pretty woman.” She says, reaching past you again to open your door.
You’re speechless as she shoos you out of the cab. You turn to look at the office building behind you and the taxis already gone. You didn’t even get her name. You kick yourself as you walk into the building, the woman more present on your mind than the interview.
————————————————————————
That’s all it took, the woman’s face consuming your every thought. You didn’t overthink the questions the manager asked. You literally couldn’t, too preoccupied with the way the corners of her lips curled up. You smiled as you looked over your new work schedule. You knew you could do it, god, you’re so happy you could kiss that stranger in the back of the taxi.
You walk out of the building, eyes in a crescent shape, your smile touching each ear. “How did it go?” Your head jerks to the side and your smile instantly fades. What was once a meet cute is now an almost stalker situation. “What are you doing here?” You say, stopping in your tracks. No matter how attractive a person is, you always have your guard up.
She throws her hands up “Hey, no need to act that way. I just felt too invested to not know. So?” She says, not ashamed of her actions, fully expecting you to answer her. “I uh, I got the job.” You can’t help but to smile at your little victory.
“Sounds like we need to celebrate.” She says, pulling her phone from her pocket, searching for bars nearby. You find yourself raising your brows at the stranger yet again. “I’m sorry, but I don’t really hang out with strangers, who invaded my taxi.” You say, regretting turning her down.
She nods her head, stuffing her phone back into her pocket. “You know, I just thought you owe me.” She steps closer to you, entering your personal space. “You won’t get a drink with me but you’ll let me pay your fair?” You look up to meet her eyes, they have a deviance to them. “You did that before I had the chance.” You almost shy away from her, but then she’s telling you her name. “I’m Yelena, and you’re Y/N?”
“How do you know my name?” You say, anxiety coming back. “When he dropped me off, that’s what he called me.” She nods over to the taxi, idle on the curb. “So, can I buy you a drink for being a good girl and getting the job, or not?” Your cheeks blush, no one had ever called you a good girl before.
“One drink.” You say, trying to play off all the emotions flowing through you. “Yay, that’s what I like to see.” She says, grabbing your hand to pull you to the taxi. Her hand was warm, and strong, you don’t know if she saw it the way you did, but it had you gushing yet again.
“Three blocks down, take a right.” She says to the driver, undoubtedly happy to have so much business from you two. “I appreciate whatever interest you have in me, but what’s going on in your life that you can just minorly stalk a stranger?” You say, needing to know more about the mysterious woman.
She smiles at you, “I was bored.”. Hard to believe she had nothing better to do. “So you invaded my taxi for fun?” She shakes her head, “I came back, for fun.” She looks out the window and knocks on the glass “We’re here. Don’t wait up.”
You jump out of the car and wait on her to pay. What a gentleman you giggle to yourself. “Come with me.” She doesn’t reach for your hand this time. Instead she strides in front of you, swinging open the door to the little pub. “My mother works here, so free drinks.” She nods you in.
Can this day get any better you laugh to yourself. Now she grabs your hand and pulls you to the bar. “Mama, this is Y/N.” She yells over the drunk hum of the pub. Her mother looked too young to actually be her mother. They shared no resemblance at all. “Hello Y/N, I’m Melina.” She reaches out to shake your hand, but before she can, Yelena interrupts “Not her, Mama.” She says giver her mother a stern look.
Melina just blinks at her, giving you no indication on what she meant. She still reaches forward and shakes your hand, “It’s nice to meet one of Yelena’s friends.” She says.
“I wouldn’t go that far but.” You say, poking fun at you two being complete strangers. “We’re not friends.” Yelena says, clarifying that whatever this was, wasn’t friendly.
“Good to know.” You say, ordering a beer from her mom. Yelena sits on the stool beside you, speaking up when her mother walks away. “I didn’t mean it like that.”
You take a swig of the beer that was at in front of you. “I didn’t take it any certain way.”. Yelena just looks at you, picking up her beer. “I like you more than that.” She takes a sip, looking away from you. So she was interested.
“So, Yelena, what else do you do besides pester strangers?” You flirt with her, picking at your nails and avoiding eye contact.
She grabs your hand, running her thumb across the peeled skin. “I like meeting new people, it’s not a crime.” You nod your head, letting her play with your fingers. “I’m kind of in my family business.” She says, not letting on to any more information.
“And what would that be? You can’t bring me to your moms bar and act coy now.” She downs the rest of her beer, looking over at you as the last few drops fall from the glass. “You wanna see the family business?” She stands, waving over her mother.
You nod, jumping off your stool. “I’ll see you at home Mama.” “You girls be safe, don’t hurt anyone!” You laugh out loud, not knowing how serious she was being. She starts walking down the sidewalk with you in tow. “Where are we going?” You say, bumping into a man that split Yelena and you apart. You roll your eyes, looking ahead to see Yelena picking up a woman’s purse for her. How caring, you think.
She walks beside you, looping her arm in yours. “To my house.” She says, stopping to smell fresh flowers at a kiosk. “First I meet your mom, now you’re taking me home. What did I do to deserve this?” You laugh.
She makes a quick turn down an alley, dragging you along. “It’s only weird if you make it weird.” She makes a great point. “This is me.” She says, opening a metal back door. “Nat, I’m Home.” She yells out, slinging down her bag.
“You’re home early.” A red head comes hopping down the stairs. She was just as beautiful as Yelena. Too gorgeous to be from around here. “Who’s this?” She says, aiming her attention towards you.
“I’m Y/N.” You give her a small wave, sheepishly standing behind Yelena. She smiles, mumbling to Yelena about needing to pay the water bill. “I’ll get it as soon as I can, it’s been a slow day.”
“Not slow, you’ve been preoccupied.” Nat bites back. Yelena groans “Let’s do this later, please.” She begs, not wanting to to make her company suffer through sisters arguing.
Nat turns around, ascending the stairs. “I thought you meant your business was out of your home, it looks pretty normal in here.” You say still in the dark.
“It is.” She points to the 70 inch tv behind her. You take a better look around and notice brand new appliances in the dilapidated kitchen. There were holes in the couch cover, but a MacBook was sitting on the coffee table. Your eyebrows furrow, “Not to be rude, but it kind of seems like your priorities are out of line. If the water bill needs paid, why own a Mac?” You might have overstepped.
“I’m trying to jailbreak it, it’s not ours.” She says, understanding your confused position. “Oh.” You say, still not understanding.
Yelena walks to the living room, sitting on the couch. “Wanna watch something?” She says, scrolling through Netflix. You accompany her, squeezing in on the love seat. “Of course, i didn’t have plans or anything.” You say sarcastically. This beautiful stranger could keep you here for days and you wouldn’t even notice that time past.
“I got you something.” She says, finally picking a movie. “How is that even possible, we met less than two hours ago.” She hadn’t been out of your sight since the interview. She pulls a tiny gold chain bracelet from her pocket. “I can’t accept that.” You say, feeling instant guilt that she spent money on you.
“It’s nothing, really.” She says, clasping it around your wrist. “I found it.”. You ogle the shining gold, you’d never owned anything like this. “How do I thank you?” You say, turning towards her in your seat. “Don’t, it’s nothing.” She assures you.
You look at your wrist to admire your new bracelet and see the time staring back at you. “It’s getting late, I should probably go.” You say, gathering yourself to leave. “Right.” Yelena says sadly, not letting you see the way her eyes hardened.
You take out a ripped piece of an envelope from your purse and quickly jot down your phone number. You lean over the couch, holding the paper beside her face, due to her keeping her back to you. “Call me.” You say, waiting for her to take the paper. She turns to give you a tight lipped smile and gently snatches the paper from you, throwing it down on the coffee table.
You wonder what changed, one second she’s gushing over you, now she’s acting like you really are a stranger. Walking out of the back alley door, you close it without another word. That was weird, you think to yourself as you make your way towards the smell of home.
______________________________________
You smile as you walk up to a neon red dragon. A bell jingles when you enter, alerting Kevin that someone was here. “I’ll be right with you!” He has his back to you while on the phone, probably taking an order. “It’s just me Kev.” He turns around and gives you a smile, rolling his eyes pointing at the phone. You laugh, he always tells you about horrible customers.
The phone claps on the hook and he turns toward the counter. “You look like your day was worse than mine.” He says, packing a brown paper bag with white containers. You shake your head no. “It was just random. First this woman tries to steal my taxi,”. He raises an eyebrow at you. “Right! Dude I was so pissed. But something else happened that kind of made up for the bad start.” He places the packed bag under the heat lamps. “SPILL IT!” He says, wiping down the counter in front of you.
“I got the job!” You squeal, no one was in the restaurant or else you would’ve been scolded by Kevin’s dad. “Girl, I am so happy for you, now you can tell Mrs. Jones to suck it. You’re not going anywhere.” She was the restaurants landlord too. Kevin’s Dad had many problems with her in the past, but he always figured it out, he told you that you would figure it out too.
“Hopefully, just keep your fingers crossed that everything works out.” You say to him, a customer walks in and Kevin switches his attention. You phone dings and you pull it from your pocket.
Unknown: sorry about earlier, I wanna see you again.
You stare down at the screen, maybe she didn’t have a change of heart. Kevin walks back up to you, his apron gone and the kitchen lights off. Typing out a quick reply you stand from your stool. “Who you texting?” He says, curious.
“No one, just the woman from the taxi…” you say, hoping he doesn’t catch on. “And why would you be texting her?” He ushers you out of the store, locking up for the night.
“We might have gotten a drink after the interview. And I might have went back to her house.” You look at your feet, far too ashamed to face your friend.
“Okay, where do I even begin? Are you crazy?” Kevin says, grabbing your arm, stopping you from turning down the alley to your door. “Hear me out.” You laugh, trying to play off the severity of it.
Kevin crosses him arms, “Please, explain why you threw caution to the wind and went on a rendezvous with a possible murderer. I’m listening.”.
“First of all, she’s not a murderer. Secondly, she’s hot.” You say, finally making the short walk to your door. You unlock it and look behind you. Kevin shakes his head in disapproval, “Just, promise to be safer next time?” He asks, pressing a button on his key that makes a loud beeping sound. The headlights of his car flickered against the side of the building.
“Yeah, yeah, promises, promises. Get home safe.” You wave him off as you walk into your stairway entry. Climbing the stairs in the dark. You reach the top to see your front door cracked open, a light coming from inside.
You’re sure you locked both doors before you left. You slowly step into the small studio, you’re facing the open bathroom door when you enter. No one was in there, unless they’re hiding behind your clear shower curtain. You step out from behind the door to see someone sitting in your chair, facing the window.
Without thinking you shout out, “What are you doing in my house?”. If you could slap yourself right now, you would. You constantly say the wrong thing, and here you were being slightly too nice to an intruder. They turn the chair around and every hair on your body stands.
“Yelena?” You say, terror showing in your eyes. She just sits there. “How do you know where I live? Why are you here? Did you break into my house?” You take a step back, not wanting to believe it.
“I had to, you gave me no other choice. Running away like that earlier.” She ignores your other questions. You scoff, “I wasn’t running away. It got late, besides I don’t really have to explain myself to you.” Your hand reaches in your pocket, grasping your phone.
You know you should’ve called the police as soon as you seen the door open. But you just can’t help yourself. Yelena noticed your hand gripping something. “I think you might have mistaken my kindness.” She says. A chill runs down the back of your spine, “What? This?” You take the golden chain from your wrist, and throw it to her lap.
She wraps it around her fingers, smiling. “You should feel lucky, I don’t take every girl to meet my mom.” She says, standing up and walking towards you. You take another step before your back hits the wall. You look to your right, the dark stairs were your only exit. Before you could react she was slamming the door on your foot.
You scream out in pain and try to pry the door off your foot. Yelena steps closer to you now that you’re trapped. “You’re a psycho!” You yell in her face. Kevin was right, the woman from the taxi is a murderer.
“Why do you make things so hard for yourself, huh?” She caresses your cheek and you push her hand away. “See?” She tuts.
She opens the door and you jerk your foot free. You lung toward your kitchenette. A knife block sat at the edge of your counter. Maybe if you had a knife she’d leave. Before you could take a step she trips you, grabbing your arm and twisting it behind your back. She leads you to your bed.
You don’t fight back in fear of her breaking your arm. You know you can’t scream. Kevin was the last one out down stairs. The carpet store next door was closed because the owners were on vacation. You’re forced to sit down on the edge of it. She doesn’t let go of your arm and stands in front of you. “What do you want?”.
Tears start to form in your eyes. Yelena juts out her bottom lip and runs her hand over your hair, “Don’t cry baby girl, I don’t want to hurt you.” She coos.
You roll your eyes “then what?” You can’t play along for much longer before you really try to escape. “Natasha says I’m not good with rejection.” She says, inspecting the threads on your shirt.
You feel something in your heart, like it broke a little bit for her, how could she possibly think you rejected her. “I would never reject you, look at you.” You say, pleading for this to end. It almost hurt your feelings being in her presence reminded you how Neanderthal you were compared to her.
“Then why did you leave?” She says, acting like she has all the answers. “You left to go sit in an empty Chinese restaurant.” She says, looking at her feet, now not feeling so confident, she thought she wasn’t as important as fortune cookies and low mein.
“Kevin closes up alone every night, what kind of friend would I be if I let him do that? There’s safety in numbers, that is all, I promise. I would’ve stayed if it wasn’t for that.” You explain yourself to her, just like you said you didn’t have to do.
You find yourself feeling guilty, like this was all a misunderstanding. “I’m sorry I made you feel like I was running away from you.” You look up into her eyes, “let’s just forget all this, okay?” You say, desperately needing her to remove the pressure from your arm.
“I don’t think I can do that. What’s stopping you from turning me in for breaking and entering? What’s stopping you from pressing charges?” She says, thinking over her options.
The words spill from your mouth before you have a chance to stop them “Why would I call the cops on my girlfriend? That’s not very nice.” You say, playing along with her psycho antics. You force a smile, even though your arm was on fire.
Yelena searches your eyes for sincerity, she must have found some, since she releases you arm and massages your shoulder. “Sorry about that.” She says, sitting beside you on the bed.
You nod, rubbing your nervous hands on your knees. “Girlfriend huh?” Yelena teases. You look over to her, wondering if she’s serious. “Break into my house and subdue me huh?”.

The red room was the only place y/n had ever know, yes they were stationed outside of the red room sometimes, but the red room became their home. Y/n remembers everything that has ever happened inside these walls the original Academy in Belarus was compromised. They rounded up all of the widows, as they prepared for transporting the girls, late at night in the dark men, screaming, guns pointed, the girls were moved into trucks, which is only the beginning. Most people, but the red room what destroyed, the famous black widow taken had down the red room, but that's not true.
It's been years, every day, wake up train, do his bidding and then sleep. It's an ever going cycle. No "family" no love, that was for the week, y/n was one of the youngest, but the greatest widows. Y/n was a black widow, and never once did they act out of line, nor did they fail a mission, they became a killing machine.
Sometimes thought a small message that y/n remember from their mother, was
"don't worry cause my little ones are the strongest little ones" y/n couldn't put a face to the words, the statement never left their memories, but they could not remember their mother for the life of them. Y/n i'm starting to believe they didn't have one, that it was all in their head, cause who would love a widow, clearly they didn't want them, that's why they are here, they were left.
"Y/n. Dreykov would like to see you." Was announced to your surroundings by another widow. Causing anyone near to look directly at you as you made your way to his office.
"Ahh y/n моя вдова (my widow), you have a mission. You will attend the gala in Saint Petersburg, Melina will go with you, pose as mother and daughter, you're just going undercover, the rest is Melina's job. Are we clear" Dreykov finished his explanation as you nodded in agreement, before being dismissed to go, prepare for the mission.
Later Melina met up with you and your cell, you were already suited up. It was nice to see her again. You both worked well together but we're always paired as a mother daughter duo. Yet other than missions, you didn't see much of her.
"We're heading to the safe house outside Saint Petersburg, my farm to be exact we will prepare there, let's go" and like that, she already was walking away. You were quick to follow, heading towards a red room ship to be taken directly and guarded to the farm.
You didn't move once during the flight, something felt off, this mission was different the most and you knew it.
Upon arriving to the farm, you both grabbed your travel bags and headed into the home, and like that the ship was gone, both widows left alone to their own bidding, for now. You were both sent early to have time to get everything planed out, meaning you had some time at the farm, it was honestly nice, getting to see outside, and seeing animals well at least pigs.
The day went on as normal, it wasn't until the early evening that changed, a plane was incoming.
"Y/n to the safe room. NOW" Melina ordered, and you followed running to hide as you heard a bit of ruckus, Melina on the other hand had already got a sniper and was out the door.
"Honey I'm home" a loud man's voice boomed, you looked at the cameras, shocked to see on the screen her hugging a man outdoors, while you stayed in the safe/panic room. You saw two other women in the group standing of the side, yet you recognized one of them, Yelena Belova, escaped widow. Y/n knew protocol, not that y/n wanted to follow it. They don't have a choice, punching in the code, and picking up their weapons, y/n bolted outside.
"YELENA BELOVE DECEIVER" was all you got out before your attack, only to be stoped by Melina.
"Y/n ignore protocol." She muttered to you, causing you to freeze in shock.
"Agent vostokoff, Dreykov wouldn't allow-" yet once's again you were cut off, this time by the red headed women.
"Y/n you want out don't you? Your struggling so are all the other widows, even if you don't know it" The black widow explained yet it set you off, you had orders, you were nothing if not following orders, and like that you went to attack, straight after the blonde deceiving widow, Yelena.
You barely got a grab on her, before Red mist was shot at your face, and just then it was like everything clicked, locked out memories came flooding back, every kill, every mission, every moment replayed in your mind, you were evil, unloved and lost. You were a week young girl who had become the red rooms best weapon...
"Y/n? Come back to us" Melina asked, as you've been zoning out.
"Sorry." Was all you said before feeling embarrassed, you were surrounded 4 adults and even thought the red room doesn't see it, your only a kid.
Melina reached out to your hand, as everyone walked into the dinning room of the small house finally, Melina guiding you was comforting.
The dark haired women holding your hand bent down to your level, not that you were much shorter...
"We are gonna get out." Was all she said, yet it was enough.
At that moment you realized Melina has been playing along for a while she wasn't under the same chemical control that you were, she was just the scientist, Dreykov's brains, so she was able to think for herself, she witnessed everything felt everything, yet was so strong.
Sitting down at the table it was silent at first, until the older man spoke up
"So it's like a family reunion!" He laughed out brining a smirk to Melina's face while Yelena just reached for the vodka in the center of the table.
"Family?" Y/n wondered aloud. Yet Natasha was the one to snap back in responses
"Before yelena went threw the red room we were stationed to pose as a family in ohio. That's all it was a silly mission"
It made sense, that's what happened to you, you were some other widows mission, that widow didn't care about you, but it was a pre-red room mission?
You tried to brush it off, you were one of the best trained widows, so acting wasn't a challenge.
"So, what are we doing here" y/n asked honestly not getting the point of this little meeting, I mean they are free why not just run away, start a new life cause starting a new life as a teen would work great I guess.
Yelena chose to chime in, going back to Natasha stamens "we were family...this is the only family I have...Natasha, don't say that! Cause it was real, it was real to me!" Yelena about cried out taking the vodka with her when she stormed out.
Surprisingly it was the man whom you know now as Alexi whom followed her. Now it was just Melina, Natasha and you sitting at the table.
"So Tasha, you'll pose as me, go in get to dreykov with a mission report, Y/n will go with you and act as if she is still fully under his control, you got that y/n?" Melina asked now turning her attention to you, which you just nodded in response.
"Good, Natasha you know what to do, and y/n just head back to training and do what you do best" was the final thing Melina said before getting some era pieces, and some tech to make this plan work, and just like that, there was a red room ship flying into the farm ready to collect the "prisoners"
You walked quickly onto the ship, and stood in your same spot, you knew how this would go, you watched them load yelena, Alexi and "Natasha" up into the ship, before taking your seat. You watched as "Melina" took the drivers seat and started the trip back to the red room. You didn't speak a word the entire trip, upon landing you were greeted by Madame B, she ordered you two head to the 3rd floor for a mission run down, nothing new.
Heading off you got a glimpse in the hallways of them locking up "Natasha" and Alexi yet Yelena wasn't with them. Yet soon you'd find her....
Going threw the mission report was fine for you, until they ran a test and you reacted incorrectly, and like that you were swept off to the medical wing, and strapped to a table, no pulling or twisting could get you out, as eventually you gave in. Turning over to see "doctors" drawing out a line on Yelena's head as she was strapped next to you.
"This is a way less cool way to die" Yelena stated with no emotion, causing you to have to fight back a laugh, not that it mattered your cover with clearly blown.
The team of doctors I have left to grab some thing for a moment when yelena got the message that there was a knife located on her side, she was able to cut herself free and then going to cut you free. As the staff came rolling back into the room, both the now ex widows fought and easily overpowered the team leaving to go find Natasha, as she needed the red mist.
Rushing to the elevator to get into Dreykovs office, as y/n lead Yelena, it was Melina's message that this place was about to blow, pushing threw the doors Yelena threw the casket of the mist, freeing the other widows as y/n and Yelena tan to Natasha's Aid, helping her to her feet.
"Nat we've got to go, get the widows we have to get out of here!" Yelena yelled out
"Take the widows I'll get there soon" and like that Yelena took the widows, yet you didn't follow running for your old cell, you couldn't leave without something.
Running up the steps to get to your blocks hunting down for the small box, it was locked but you knew it was important and you knew it was all you had from your mother she was who gave it to you. Yet you've never opened it, you couldn't it was pretty much impossible to break open.
Natasha and Yelena met up with Melina and Alexi quickly heading onto a ship, to get out of the red room, along with all of the widows, well almost all.
"Shit where is Y/n?" Yelena asked
"Lena I thought she was with you, MELINA IS Y/N WITH YOU?" Natasha called out in a small panic, y/n was new to them yet they have a connect with the very young widow, y/n was just a kid.
Melina shot up. "Natasha take over driving" and like that the older dark haired women was heading towards the back of the of the ship, seeing y/n running with a box in their arms.
"Y/N!" Melina reached for a parachute before jumping out of the ship, the whole Red Room was about to go up in flames and the ship with the widows had to go, so this was her plan. Lunging at y/n, Melina threw them both over the red room, free falling temporarily.
"It's okay i got you" and like that the parachute was pulled, quickly but safely reaching the grounds.
Still holding onto the box, Melina took a look at it, pulling her necklaces out from under her suit which held a key, she was able to open the box for y/n before the other made there way over.
"ты всегда был моим маленьким (you were always my little one) even from a distance, I would never leave you детка (baby)" Melina spoke softly to you before standing up to great her other "daughters".
Realization poured into y/n's mind, they were never left, taken yes, but their mother stayed close, even if she couldn't really act as y/n's mother Melina was there, she was all y/n had.
"Mission success?" Yelena joked earning a silly glare from the others.
"It can only go up from here" y/n laughed leaning closer to Melina
"Right мама (mom)?"

“Yelena!” Y/N yells out and runs out of her room, leaving a very confused Kate behind. “What did you do, you сука?” She slaps Yelena’s arm.
“Ow!” Even though it doesn’t hurt, Yelena pretends it does. “I’ve done nothing. Why are you yelling?”
“You told mama Melina about Kate!” Kate’s eyes widen as she listens to the conversation from the other room.
Yelena chuckles. “Oh, that.” She laughs some more, now louder. “Yeah, I told her. That’s what you get for hiding things and lying to me.”
“That is so unfair.” Y/N groans, rubbing her face. “I wasn’t ready to tell her yet.”
“She would’ve found out eventually when she realized you’re hiding something.” Yelena rolls her eyes at Y/N’s dramatics. “I just sped up the process, she was already suspecting something is going on.”
“She wants to meet her, like tomorrow.” Yelena shrugs at the urgency in her voice, not seeing anything bad in a dinner with their mother. “She is angry, Yelena!” Y/N raises her voice, annoyed by the nonchalance.
“Not my problem.” Y/N whines, stomping her leg before walking back to her room when she notices she’s getting nothing from Yelena. “Remember to tell her to bring some homemade mac and cheese with her!”
Y/N slams the door closed, ignoring Yelena’s muffled Leave the door open! yell. She leans her forehead against the door and sighs. Kate wraps her arms around Y/N’s waist, setting her chin to her shoulder.
“I guess I’m meeting your mom then.”
“I’m sorry.” Y/N turns around to see Kate. “I really didn’t want her to find out like this.”
“It’s fine! I think.” Kate gives her a toothy smile, moving her hands to Y/N’s bare skin to rub it softly.
Even though it’s been a week since they decided to become official, and kiss for the first time, Y/N still feels the need to recoil away from Kate’s touch. And sometimes she does, but Kate is there for her every single time. Supporting and reassuring her.
“Tell me about her. Is there something I should know about her?”
Y/N hums, leaning the back of her head against the door as her eyes dart to the ceiling. “She is very protective, I suppose some would call her a bit controlling.” She scoffs with a smile. Her whole family is controlling, she is used to it. “She makes sure every single one is fed and taken cared of. Whenever I had a nightmare and couldn’t sleep, she’d stay with me the whole night.”
“She sounds great.” One of Kate’s hands move up to Y/N’s cheek, making her look at her.
“She is.” Y/N smiles. “Just not with outsiders.” She cringes as she stares at Kate.
“Well…” Kate grins. “She’ll like me.” She frowns when Y/N stays quiet. “Right?”
“Let’s hope so.”
The knock on Y/N and Yelena’s front door makes goosebumps appear on Kate’s arms. Melina is here. Yelena goes to open the door while Y/N and Kate wait in the living room, as Yelena didn’t allow them out of her sight.
The pair can hear them talking at the door, Yelena clearly excited by the homemade mac and cheese Melina brought.
Melina and Yelena walk into the living room, the latter holding a bug pot of mac and cheese, making Y/N stand up. She walks over to Melina and hugs her. “Hey mama.”
“Hello, sweetheart.” Melina kisses the top of Y/N’s head.
When Melina backs away from the hug, Kate stands up as well. “It’s nice to meet you, Mrs Vos-Vostokoff.” She pronunciation of Melina’s last name is slightly butchered, but not as bad as it would be if she didn’t practice saying it with Y/N the night before.
Melina hums, staring at the hand Kate is putting out to shake her hand. Yelena snickers as Kate’s face turns into a grimace, while slowly putting her hand down.
“Mama.” Y/N mumbles, giving her a small glare. “Don’t be mean.”
“I am not being mean.” Melina pinches Y/N’s cheek before turning to Yelena. “Come on then, let’s eat.”
Y/N goes to stand next to Kate when Yelena and Melina walk into the kitchen to reheat the mac and cheese. “It’s gonna take a while for her to ease up.” She mumbles.
“That’s okay.” Kate gives her a reassuring smile, grabbing her hand. “You are the baby, I get it.”
“I am not the baby.” Y/N grumbles.
“You totally are. It’s adorable.” Kate giggles, kissing her cheek before they step into the kitchen.
Kate and Y/N sit next to each other, opposite of Yelena and Melina. Melina puts food on her daughters’ plates, putting the ladle back after so Kate could get her own food. Y/N gives Melina another glare, but it goes unnoticed.
“So,” Melina starts, setting her fork down momentarily. “A girlfriend.” Is all she says as she stares at Y/N and Kate.
“Yes, mama. Kate is my girlfriend.”
“They already said they love each other.” Yelena fake gags. “And they’re always kissing.”
“Yelena!” Y/N throws a napkin at Yelena’s direction, though it doesn’t land anywhere near here. “Shut up.”
“Вы любите ее? Действительно?” Melina stares at Y/N with one brow raised. She knows Y/N isn’t the most knowledgeable when it comes to relationships and such, which is why she is very cautious when it comes to them. “Ты уверен?” (You love her? Already? Are you sure?)
“Да, мама.”
Melina glances at Kate, who is looking at them with a confused expression, not understanding Russian. Melina turns to Yelena, asking her what she thinks of Kate and their relationship.
Yelena shrugs and shoves a forkful of mac and cheese in her mouth. “Только не занимайся сексом, когда я здесь.” (Just don’t have sex when I’m here.)
“Yelena! Сука!” Y/N yells. She hides her very warm feeling face behind her hands.
“Y/N.” Melina scolds. “No cursing at your sister.” Y/N whines, slumping in her seat, but quiets down instantly when Melina gives her a look.
Kate laughs at Y/N’s actions in her mind, too scared to do it out loud. She isn’t sure what the three of them were talking about, but it’s clear it’s not going to Y/N’s favor. Which is kind of funny, it really shows she is the baby of the family.
Y/N and Melina are staring at each other, as if talking with only their eyes so no one else would understand. After a while, Melina sighs and turns to Kate. “Kate Bishop, yes?”
“Yes!” Kate says a bit too loudly, excited that Melina is finally addressing her. “That’s me.”
“You love Y/N?”
“I do. I love her very much.”
“And you know what happens if you hurt her?” Y/N tries to intervene, but before she can even say anything, Melina lifts up her hand to silence her.
“You and Yelena will hurt me…very badly?” She glances at the blonde, who is happily eating her food.
“Worse than badly.”
Kate nods. She takes Y/N’s hand in her own under the table, for support. “I understand. I would never hurt her.”
Melina hums. She glances at Y/N and gives her a small nod. “I accept your relationship.”
The smile on Kate’s face is so wide Yelena thinks it’ll split her face in half. “Mama, I would’ve been with her even if you didn’t accept.”
“No, you wouldn’t have.”
“No, I wouldn’t have.” Y/N grumbles quietly with a roll of her eyes. “Can we go to my room now? We’re done eating.” Melina shoos them with her hand. “Thank you for the food mama!”
“Thank you for the dinner, Mrs Vostokoff.”
“It’s Melina.” She gives Kate a small smile as they start walking away.
“Thank you, Melina.”
“Keep the door open!” Both Melina and Yelena yell out just as Y/N is closing the door. With an extra loud groan, just so they hear her displeasure, Y/N leaves the door open.

Happy Thanksgiving
Tumblr media
Summary: You invite Natasha’s family to join you for Thanksgiving. Holiday cheer and a surprise awaits!
Genre: Fluff
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x reader, Yelena Belova x reader (platonic), Alexei Alanovich Shostakov x reader (platonic) Melina Vostokoff x reader (platonic)
Word Count: 3.6k
Warnings: None
A/N: This was a fun one. Happy Thanksgiving!
When you first broached the subject with Natasha of inviting Yelena, Melina, and Alexi to your home for Thanksgiving, you weren’t sure how your wife would respond. True, things were better. Their relationship had gone through something of a healing process since they took down Dreykov and the Red Room together, but her family was still a lot for anyone to handle. Most of the team was going to Iowa to spend Thanksgiving with the Barton’s. Clint had gotten it into his head to deep fry the turkey this year. It was going to be can’t-miss-entertainment according to Sam. However, you and Natasha were looking forward to a more intimate holiday.
“You really want my family to join us for Thanksgiving?” Her eyes met yours as you snuggled up on the couch together.
“I think it could be really fun. Plus, you deserve to get to spend some quality time with them that doesn’t involve death, destruction, or pigs,” you joked.
“You don’t like mom’s pigs?” She smirked.
No, love. I do. They’re adorable. Especially once Yelena made them those personalized piggy vests,” you giggled.
“Oh, yeah… Pests!” Natasha laughed recalling the image.
“So what do you think? A Romanoff family Thanksgiving?”
She thought for a moment before a smile reached her lips. “Okay, let’s do it. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think it could be fun,” caressing your cheek softly.
Upon receiving Nat’s approval and confirmation that all three were available and would be there with bells on, you went into planning mode. Determined to make it a special holiday for everyone.
*^~^*
You left bright and early to hit up the grocery store the Monday before Thanksgiving. It was crucial to avoiding the out-of-stock items and the rush of, “fucking annoying slowpokes who don’t know a shallot from an onion,” you eloquently informed your wife after wiggling out of her warm hold.
Nat mumbled something akin to, “See you later, detka,” her head buried in her pillow, as you hurriedly put on your coat, scarf, and beanie and rushed out of the house. Your car keys and shopping list clenched purposefully in your fist.
*^~^*
The front door slammed shut a couple of hours later, alerting Natasha to your arrival.
“I’m home, love!”
“The conquering shopper has returned! How was the store?” Looking around at the mountain of groceries cluttered around you like presents under the Christmas tree.
“It was good! I managed to get everything on the list,” removing your warm attire and running your hand smoothly through your hair.
“I can see that, y/n. Did you leave anything for the other shoppers?” Nat smirked.
“This is all necessary for the traditional Thanksgiving feast I have planned for us,” you explained. “Your family has never had an American Thanksgiving, so I thought why not go all out?”
Your wife stepped carefully around your grocery maze and wrapped her arms lovingly around your neck. “Have I told you how much I love you?”
“Not in the last twenty minutes,” jokingly glancing at the imaginary watch on your wrist before planting a tender kiss on her lips.
Natasha offered to unpack the groceries for you. Meanwhile, you set about creating a cooking timeline for the meal preparation. You were so in your element, your wife couldn’t help but smile. Your adorable expression as you typed away on your laptop reminded her of your demeanor out in the field. Focused, engaged, confident.
*^~^*
A creature of habit, Natasha awoke the following morning for her daily run. She groggily reached over to turn off her alarm, until she realized the alarm hadn’t gone off. No, it was the clanging of pots and pans from the kitchen that tore her from her blissful sleep. Nat rolled over to your side of the bed, only to find it empty. She groaned softly and sat up; cracking her neck and stretching her arms over her head as a yawn escaped her lips.
Natasha padded down the hall toward the kitchen; still clad in her pajamas and the fuzzy socks you bought her. She turned the corner to find you floating around the kitchen in a whirlwind. Dishes in the oven and on the stove.
“Moya lyubov? You’re already in the kitchen?” Rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
“No rest for the wary, sweetheart. I’ve got to get the pumpkin pie out of the way so I can get started on the sides by this afternoon,” you explained, fervently whisking your pumpkin puree into your custard mixture. You glanced around the counter like you were looking for something. “Oh, can you hand me those spice jars behind you?”
She picked up the cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger stacking them precariously on top of one another like blocks before appearing at your side.
“Nicely, done. You clearly missed your calling as a professional Jenga player.”
“Take your damned spices,” she snarked.
You sprinkled the spice mixture into the filling and let it sit. “Okay,” you said wiping your brow. “I just need to grab the pie crust out of the oven, it should be par-baked by now.”
“I got it, detka,” pulling on the oven mitts and removing the pan from the oven.
Perfect, now we’re just going to fill the crust,” carefully pouring the custard filling. “Then this is going back in the oven at 325 for 45-60 minutes.”
Nat carefully placed the pie back in the oven. “Shall I close, doctor?”
“Please,” in your most professional voice before lapsing into giggles.
“Now, that’s in. We can get started on the sides. Mashed, potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberry feta salad,” you listed.
Two types of potatoes?”
“Oh, it’s a must, love! You get both the salty and the sweet. It’s potato perfection.”
“Hmm, just like you,” she said suggestively.
“Smooth,” you replied.
“I try.”
*^~^*
You were still in the kitchen when Natasha returned from her run.
“Have you taken a break at all since I left?” Removing her running shoes and placing them by the front door.
“No time for breaks. Your sister just texted me and asked if Mac and Cheese was part of the American Thanksgiving tradition, so I’m whipping up one for her.”
Your wife rolled her eyes. “For God’s sake, that’s not necessary, malyshka. Yelena will survive one meal without her precious Mac and Cheese.”
“It’s no problem. I want your family to feel comfortable! That’s why I also have a sparkling Vodka cocktail planned,” you winked.
“That is so sweet, but there is no need to stress over it, y/n. They are going to love it no matter what you make. Plus, you know if you feed them this well they’ll never leave, right?”
“And wouldn’t that be wonderful?” You joked.
“No, it wouldn’t,” she deadpanned.
The rest of the afternoon was spent preparing the stuffing, cranberry sauce, garlic green beanies, and gravy. By the time you finally laid down on the couch Tuesday evening still in your apron, you were pleased with the progress you had made. Your legs lay across Natasha’s lap while she massaged your aching feet. She wasn’t surprised to look over and find you sound asleep five minutes later as the television glow illuminated your features. Your wife could only smile at your sleepy form before gently picking you up and carrying you off to bed.
*^~^*
Wednesday morning Natasha decided to let you sleep in, so she made the executive decision to turn your alarm off. Truthfully, she felt guilty for how hard you had been pushing yourself this week for the sake of her family. Nat was nursing a cup of tea and reading a book in the family room when she heard you down the hall.
“Oh, crap!”
“3,2,1…..”
“Nat, why didn’t you wake me up!” Throwing on your favorite cardigan as you entered the room. “I’ve still got to make the pretzel bread and raspberry jello today.”
“You needed the sleep. I can’t tell you’re exhausted, and you were sleeping so soundly when I got up.”
You had a look of panic in your eyes.
“It’s okay, y/n. I found the recipes for the jello and bread on the table and got the jump on it for you. The jello is done and in the fridge, and the bread dough is under the towel rising.”
You blinked a couple of times as if she was speaking Latin. “You cooked?”
“Are you questioning my abilities?” Raising an eyebrow.
“Well.… yeah? I love you sweetheart, but the only thing I’ve ever seen you make is a peanut butter sandwich.”
“See for yourself,” smiling proudly and removing her reading glasses.
Opening the fridge, you were pleasantly surprised to find a gelatinous raspberry jello staring back at you. You then peeked under the towel on the counter to find the bread dough had just about doubled in size.
“Well, turn me upside down and paint me blue!”
“Hmmm tempting, but let’s save that for after my family leaves,” Natasha smirked as she placed a kiss on the side of your temple from behind.
“This is awesome, my love. Thank you so much,” turning around in her hold. “I have to say, the thought of the Black Widow cooking is incredibly sexy.”
“Is it now?”
“Very, I may have to get you your own apron,” you teased, as Natasha gently grasped your ear lobe between her teeth before placing soft kisses down the side of your neck. A few moments later, her phone dinged with a text notification on the counter beside you. You glanced down at the screen out of the corner of your eye.
“It’s Yelena, sweetheart...”
“Is she on fire? Otherwise, I’m not stopping.” Moving the tender kisses to your lips.
“No, she wants to know if she should bring anything,” you replied between kisses.
She feels bad we’re doing all the work,”
“She’s bringing our parents, that’s a shit ton of work.”
“Ain’t that the truth.”
*^~^*
The next day you and Natasha got started on the crown jewel of your Thanksgiving dinner, the turkey. After letting it thaw in the fridge all week, your twenty-pound bird had been marinating in a salt brine for the past twelve hours. You placed the turkey in the oven at 425 degrees for 35 minutes, which gave you two just enough time to get ready before it needed to be basted.
After showering and putting on your best fall colors, you heard the doorbell.
“Baby, they’re here!” you called, opening the door to welcome your guests.
Alexi was sporting a plush turkey hat, while Melina held a freshly made appetizer. Yelena, standing in front of both of them, had Fanny at her feet. She quickly stepped inside first with a warm hug and a peck on your cheek.
“Happy Thanksgiving, y/n! Thank you so much for inviting us. “Now,” placing both hands on your shoulders. “Where is the booze? I just had to spend the last 20 minutes in the car alone with them listening to Alexi ramble on about his stupid hat.”
You point toward the coffee table holding the sparkling Vodka cocktails as your sister-in-law gives you a cheeky smile. “I love you.”
“Haha!” Alexi exclaimed. Greetings, my wonderful daughter-in-law. I am ready for turkey!” Wrapping you in a giant bear hug.
“Could’ve fooled me, Alexi,” you joked. “Ooh Melina, what do we have here? It looks delicious.”
“A traditional Russian appetizer, Mushroom Julienne. Mushrooms and onions cooked in cream sauce, cheese, and sour cream.”
“Ugh! My mouth is already watering. Here, let me take your coats, you can place that on the coffee table,” you offered.
After tending to the coats, you rejoined the group as everyone settled in the family room for appetizers and cocktails. Holiday music played softly in the background, setting the scene perfectly. You sat on the sofa beside your wife while your in-laws treated you to numerous stories of Natasha and Yelena’s all-to-brief childhood in Ohio. Some of which you had yet to hear.
“Y/N, has Natalia told you how she and Yelena used to stay up late on Christmas Eve to try and catch Santa Claus?” Melina asked.
“Now that was fun. You know, he comes down the chimney, girls. Look out! Where is he? You wait for him, and then when the cookies are gone, you see he’s there.” Alexi recalled.
Yelena smiled fondly at the memory while Natasha turned as red as Santa’s suit and hid her face in her hands.
“Aww, honey,” rubbing circles on her back. It’s precious! I’m sure you were adorable.”
“As adorable as you can be with bright blue hair. You looked like cotton candy,” Yelena laughed.
Nat threw a pillow across the room that barely missed her sister’s head.
“Ha!! Missed!”
“Girls, behave,” Melina ordered.
You couldn’t help but smile at the sisterly teasing and family banter. This was exactly what you were hoping for, and the evening was just getting started.
“Oh, detka, you don’t have a drink yet. Let me get you one,” Natasha offered starting to stand up, but your hand on her arm stopped her.
“Oh, no thanks, love. I actually need to go check on the turkey.”
“I’ll join you,” Yelena announced. “I want to see this bird you Americans are so crazy about.”
You opened the oven to reveal your delectable 20-pound turkey. “Do you want to brush it with the honey glaze for me, Lena? I’m going to check on the side dishes.”
“Just call me DaVinci!”
You turned back around to find your sister-in-law had finished off the glazing by painting a smiley face on the turkey.
“Wow, I didn’t know our turkey had such a charming smile,” you joked. Reducing the heat to 325 and setting the timer for another 75 minutes.
“Thank you again for including us today, y/n. While it would’ve been fun to watch Barton sear his eyebrows off trying to deep-fry a turkey, it's been nice to see Natasha so happy. We didn’t have any family holidays growing up. Not real ones, anyway.”
“Well, you always will now,” placing an arm around her shoulder. “I will spend the rest of my life trying to make your sister happy. That’s a promise.”
While the turkey finished cooking, you decided to share as many of your own Thanksgiving traditions as you could. You watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, took in some Turkey Day football, and even played a rousing game of Pictionary.
“What the hell is that?” Yelena shouted as Nat was heavily engaged in her drawing.
“Oooh! Ooh! A ladybug doing the Macarena!”You screamed, just before the timer ran out.
“Yes!”
“Unbelievable, what is that five in a row,” Melina remarked. No wonder you two are such a good team.”
“Well, it's no surprise you're a pro at Pictionary. I mean, who needs talent when you can just doodle like a 5-year-old?” Yelena retorted.
“Don’t hate the player, hate the game, Lena,” dropping the marker like a microphone.
“Trust me, I do. It will be perfect for when I want to torture Kate Bishop.”
“With that, I think it’s time for dinner,” you announced happily.
*^~^*
It only took a few minutes before your Thanksgiving feast was lovingly displayed on the dining room table. The sight and aroma of the food was a gentle massage to the soul.
“Before we dig in,” holding up your glass for a toast, “I just wanted to say how happy Nat and I are that you could join us today. We love you, and I’m so thankful to be a part of your family.”
Natasha grasped your hand and placed a soft kiss on your knuckles.
“We feel the same way,” Melina concurred.
“Yes, we’re so happy that you and our little Natalia found each other,” Alexi added.
“Yes, y/n is a saint. It’s all very touching, can I carve the turkey now,” Yelena groaned, holding up a sharpened carving knife.
“You may proceed,” you declared with a Queen’s wave of your hand.
Dishes were passed around the table like musical chairs. Wine filled everyone’s glasses, while you opted for your favorite - Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider. You pretended not to notice Yelena sneaking a few scraps to Fanny under the table. The chatter rose and fell, every few moments dispersed with laughter. It was the kind of occasion most aren't aware that they're truly enjoying, yet look back at in warm nostalgia.
After hibernating for a bit in your Thanksgiving food comas, you moved back into the family room for dessert. You were excited to finally bring out the homemade Pumpkin pie topped with whipped cream.
“Ah, now this is a beautiful pie.” Look at this, girls. I love America, you cannot get this back in St. Petersburg.” Alexi gushed.
“Y/N made it from scratch,” your wife bragged, causing you to blush at the compliment.
“Did y/n also split the atom?” Yelena teased. She earned an eye roll from her older sister. “Could you BE more whipped?”
“No, I honestly don’t think I could,” Natasha looked at you like you had hung the moon and the stars.
*^~^*
As the evening wound down, the hustle and bustle of the past week was starting to catch up to you. Your wife didn’t miss your heavy eyelids or the tiny yawn that escaped your lips as Fanny hopped up on the couch to lay down beside you.
“Well, we should probably get going, traffic will be annoying crossing back over the bridge,” your sister-in-law said.
“Before you go, I have gifts for all of you!” Jumping up off the couch.
“You do?”A bewildered expression on Nat’s face.
“I do!” You’re voice trailed away as you padded down the hall toward your bedroom.
Natasha turned around to her family with a shrug of her shoulders, no clue what you were talking about. You returned a moment later with small autumn-gold gift bags.
“This is just a little something for each of you,” clasping your hands together in front of your smiling face. Natasha was even more confused when you handed her one as well. “Go on, sweetheart,” you encouraged.
Natasha removed the delicate tissue paper. Her strong and calloused hands met the soft cotton hiding inside. She pulled the gift out and held it up in front of her. A tiny onesie was staring back at her that read, “Mommy’s Little Turkey.”
Natasha stared at it speechlessly wide-eyed. A first for your relationship. Finally, her brain caught up with the moment. “Moya lyubov—what? we—you…you’re pregnant?”
You nodded vigorously, starting to cry. Natasha’s hands cupped your cheeks. Her lips met yours in a heartfelt kiss, not caring in the slightest that her family was watching. You gently combed your fingers through the hair at the nape of her neck, returning the kiss.
Melina, Alexi, and Yelena held up their onesies to find variations of Natasha’s: Grandma’s Little Turkey, Grandpa’s Little Turkey, and Auntie’s Little Turkey.”
“I knew it!”Yelena shouted.
She turned to Natasha and whispered, “You see what can happen when you keep your heart,” holding her lovingly in her arms.
Vashe zdorov'ye! (Cheers) Alexi exclaimed. If it is a boy you will name him Alexi. It is a strong and honorable name!” Kissing you on both cheeks.
“Oh God,” Yelena muttered under her breath. “For the love of Fanny, please don’t do that,” wrapping her arms around you. “I would love to babysit. There is much I’m looking forward to passing on to my niece or nephew.”
“Yeah, that’s not terrifying at all,” your wife mumbled in your ear.
The shock wearing off, Natasha reached down and gently placed her palm on your stomach. You weren’t showing yet, but just knowing that your child was growing inside you awakened a dream that she had put away in the Red Room long ago.
*^~^*
Once her family left, Natasha insisted that she would handle the post-holiday clean-up, confining you to the couch with a plethora of pillows and a fluffy blanket. Foreshadowing what was to come for the duration of your pregnancy.
“Sweetheart, those dishes go in the top right cupboard,” directing her from the couch.
“No worries, malyshka. I got it! You just take it easy. The baby needs rest after all of this Thanksgiving cheer,” her protective instincts make an appearance.
“The baby is the size of a plum, my love,”
“A very tired plum!”
*^~^*
Thirty minutes later the kitchen was clean and you both were ready for a good night’s sleep. You would never admit it to your wife, but boy, were you tired. You donned your coziest pajamas and joined Natasha in bed. Snuggled into the covers, you found comfort and peace in your safe space. Nat rolled over to face you, your foreheads touching in a beautifully intimate gesture of love and affection.
“This has been the best day of my life. Not only did you give my family an amazing Thanksgiving, you gave me a gift I’ll never forget. Though I have to admit now that I know you’re pregnant, I’m replaying the last week in my head in a loop of horrifying anxiety.”
You giggled at her confession, “It’s alright, Nat. I’m ready for a nice long rest, and I just had a check-up with Helen last week.”
“Wait, does the team know?”
“Dear God, no. You think that group can keep a secret?”
“We can tell them at Stark’s Christmas party in a couple of weeks if you’re comfortable with the idea.”
“Perfect. I need a couple of weeks to prepare for the onslaught of attention from our little one’s aunts and uncles.”
Natasha reached over and grabbed your hand. “I love you, y/n. I can’t wait to welcome our little plum into the world,” she smiled.
“I love you too. You are going to be an amazing mother, sweetheart.”
“Happy Thanksgiving, y/n”
“Happy Thanksgiving, Natasha.”

International Affair
Welcome to my shameless self-insert series🤭 Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Last
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reader Description: Masculine style, They/He, AFAB, International Student, 20 Years Old. Sometimes will be describe using masculine terms (man, boy, handsome, etc)
Pairings: Wanda Maximoff x InternationalStudent!Reader
Warnings: Specified age gap (Wanda is 34).
Summary: For their summer break, Y/n decided to spend it in a little town called Westview. It was there when they met Wanda Maximoff. A woman in her 30s with two kids, who seems to be attracted to the college student despite being married.
New York University's tuition was fucking ass. It really is, at a whopping $64,000 tuition fee per year. And that's only the tuition fee, the total estimate of studying in NYU plus living cost was probably over $90,000. Exactly it's fucking insane. Despite receiving a sponsorship from their parent's good friend and also financial aid from NYU, he still needed to figure out how to pay it back.
Sometimes they feel like smacking their head for choosing to study in a city where it's known for its back bank breaking living cost. Can you blame him though? Those tall buildings, shining lights, bustling nightlife, sounds of gunshots, and a huge opportunity for a creative person such as themselves, along with a dash of capitalism. Y/n couldn't help but be fascinated. That American dream that he had been chasing since he saw the Devil Wears Prada.
It was now summer vacation. Instead of going home for the summer, Y/n decided to join this Homeshare Summer program. Basically an elderly person provides home for students to share during the summer. The benefits are plenty, but most notably, cheaper housing rent. His roommates also joined this program, together they sublease their apartment. Adding extra funds to their breaking bank account.
In return, the students must help their elderly host with basic domestic needs. Mostly light household tasks; preparing and sharing meals, tidying up, chores, walking a pet, etc.
Y/n ended up matching with someone in a small town called Westview somewhere in New Jersey. As much as he loves New York, he wanted to spend his summer somewhere else in America.
He matched with a lovely widow named Melina Vostokoff. He learned that she has 2 daughters, both whom are adults with their own respective career. She needed a companion, understandably so, and Y/n was more than happy to assist her in anyway she might need.
"Y/n." Melina called.
"Yes, Mrs. Vostokoff?" Y/n looked up from their laptop, they were sitting on the dinner table editing some footage.
"Oh dear, please, I told you to call me Melina."
"Sorry, Melina. Force of habit." He said with a smile. "What's up?"
"Would you please send all this batches of cookies around the neighborhood? I already have a list of houses on where you can drop them." Melina is known for sharing batches of cookies for free around the neighborhood. Why? Out of kindness.
And also the fact that she loves baking, but ended up not being able to finish it all. So she shares them around the neighborhood.
"Sure, Melina! I'll do that right away."
So he sets of to drop off delicious dessert for Westview citizens. Melina had told them that this was a good chance to ask around for a summer job as well. Which is what he had initially planned to do anyway. Finally they reached the last house, Maximoff Household. They weren't so lucky with the other neighbors, but last one's a charm right? He rang the doorbell.
A person then opens the door. "Hello, I was just-" Holyfucking shit. This woman was absolutely gorgeous.
"May I help you?" She ask, god her voice is sexy.
"Uhhh..." Snap out of it! "Sorry! I'm Y/n, I'm the student staying over the summer at Mrs. Vostokoff. She told me to drop off her Bi-Weekly batches of cookies."
Wanda wasn't stupid, she noticed their nervousness and found it adorable. "Lovely to meet you, Y/n. I'm Wanda, Wanda Maximoff." She offered her hand.
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mrs. Maximoff." He shook her hand.
"Do you go to Westview University?" She was rather intrigued by the younger one.
"No, ma'am. I actually go to NYU, I'm studying film production."
Wanda raised an eyebrow and smiled. "How impressive. Though I must ask, why choose to spend your summer here?"
Damn... her smile.
"Mainly a much cheaper living cost, other than that I figured It'll be good for me to explore other parts of America. New Jersey is not far so it's a good place to start."
"Ah, an International student I see. Is it one of those Homeshare programs?"
"It is!" The student beamed.
What a charming smile he has, Wanda thought to herself. "Say, how old are you, Y/n." She ask while leaning against the door frame, her tone was... rather flirty.
"Um... I'll be turning 21 this year." Wanda hummed at the answer. For what reason Y/n doesn't know either. "Here are your cookies, ma'am." Well shit, he was getting nervous again. Obviously, Wanda staring at him with a look he can't quite pin.
"Oh! Thank you, dear. My sons absolutely love Melina's cookies." She took the container from them.
"Well that's no surprise, I could live off from those cookies alone." They said while laughing lightly. "So I take it you've lived here for a while?"
"Yes, I've lived here for years with my twin boys and husband." Damn it, they thought. "Anything you would like to know?"
"Yes actually! I've been looking for a summer job, but I haven’t had any luck."
"Well, lucky for you, a friend of mine who owns the Cafe in town is looking for a new Barista. She just recently opened the position."
"That's great news! Thank you so much for letting me know, Mrs. Maximoff." They said with a smile, Wanda had another idea in mind.
"However, I think they're only offering part-time. If you're looking for some extra work, I may need a few... help around the house. Would you be interested?" She asked with a devilish smile.
Y/n, being too excited at the possibility of finally landing a job, failed to notice the flirty undertone in Wanda's sentence. "Absolutely!"
"Splendid! Come over to my house tomorrow and we'll discuss the details."
"I will see you tomorrow, Mrs. Maximoff. Thank you again!" The young man said with a bright smile, he started walking backwards onto the sidewalk.
"See you tomorrow, Y/n." Once they turned their backs on her, Wanda bit her lip. She had multiple things in mind for Y/n to help her with.
I did a quick research on the law of international students working in the US. I didn't get into detail but it basically said yes but there are restrictions. So ignore the actual laws, and y'know just - whatever man it's a fanfic :') When I saw the estimated cost of studying in NYU i almost cried-
Also I hope you guys don’t mind I go with a more masculine reader for this one (i really want to be called a good boy by Wanda)
I hope the reader description doesn’t confuse you guys, if it does. Its ok, i self inserted myself and im very confused abt my gender-

The Third Widow Masterlist
Tumblr media
"We are ready to start, General" the doctor looked up at Dreykov with a surgical mask covering their lips. "Do it." Dreykov replied sternly as your passed out body was hooked up to machines keeping you breathing. "I will see you once it's done" he added before walking out of the room.
It was hours until you felt your eyes start to open, bright lights made your headache as you looked around the small, confined room, strapped to the bed with your wrists and ankles. You were too drowsy to make sense of anything but the feeling in your gut told you it wasn't good. Dreykov watched from his security camera as you drifted back to sleep, "Welcome home widow" he muttered to himself before turning the camera off.
Other widows walked by your cell trying not to look into the glass window to get a glimpse of you, Dreykov had told them all about you and how Natasha, Yelena and you were his best weapons and that the three of you would return home very soon. To them you were a god, the one they strived to be better than, the one they were to look up too. Their training had gotten new adjustments, they had to train harder and complete harder missions in order to stay in Dreykov's good books, some failed and were dealt with, never to be seen again.
A few days later after you were finally unstrapped from the bed and able to sit up right, a guard took you to Dreykov's office, a room you'd seen a few times but never spent more than a few short minutes in there. You weren't scared of him, but you could already tell how angry he was and mentally prepared yourself for anything he would try.
"Sit" he instructed as he turned off his protected screen. You sat down in the seat across from him as he stood behind his desk, your eyes watching every little movement he made. "You recovered faster than I thought" he said, "How is Yelena Belova?" He asked. The name not having any effect on you as he walked around behind you. "Oh, I am sorry, you probably don't know her" he chuckled, "How about Natasha Romanoff?" Another name that didn't ring a bell for you. "Your silence tells me you don't remember" he circled back to his seat and sat down before reaching into the drawer on the right side of his desk pulling out some photos and placing them in front of you. "Look at them" he instructed, your eyes dropped to the photo of a young girl with dirty blonde hair and green eyes, the name under her photo read 'Yelena Belova'.
"Do you recognise her?" Dreykov asked.
"No" you looked back up at him. He then took the photo of Yelena and put it to the side, your eyes dropped to the next photo. A redhead with a similar eye color to Yelena, her name reads 'Natasha Romanoff'
"And her?" Dreykov asked once more. "No" you replied. He showed you the photos of four other people, Melina Vostokoff, Alexei Shostakov, Kate Bishop and Wanda Maximoff. All of which you didn't recognize which pleased Dreykov.
"Good. You will start training today. You are not to speak or even look at another Widow." He spoke sternly, "You do your training and that is all, do you understand?" he added. "Yes, sir" you replied while looking into his eyes. "Good, now get out of here" he waved you off as a guard waited to take you back to your room.
Dreykov brought the doctor in after you left, "Did it work?" He asked the doctor as he stood holding two files before placing them in front of Dreykov. "Yes, General. The Extremis injection has completely changed the DNA of Y/n, she no longer, legally, is related to Yelena Belova. Her tests show that we were able to successfully enhance her strength and given that she hasn't eaten or drank anything since returning, I am confident her stamina enhancement was also successful" he explained with a proud smirk.
"She is to start training today. I want you there to take notes, I need everything to work. If she is to on Yelena and Natasha when they come for her, I need her ready" Dreykov said.
"Yes, General. She will be ready" the doctor replied.
Meanwhile back home, Yelena was a mess. She and Wanda fought but wouldn't give up on searching for you. Natasha, Melina and Alexei were trying to work out a plan to get you back, but nobody knew where Red Room was, Melina knew that Dreykov would've made it harder to find him again and Natasha agreed that the plan had to thought-out in high detail, if they were ever to find Red Room. Kate did her best on being there for her two friends and help where she could, but she also worried for their own health and tried to distract them just for a while, so they'd focus on eating and drinking.
The town soon found out about Asya's death and blamed you for it faster than they could read any details that the press released. Asya was dead and you were missing, it was enough evidence for them to blame you for her murder. For Dreykov this was perfect, nobody was going to think of looking for you unless it was the authorities and they would never find out where Red Room was or what Red Room even was.
----
You started training differently to the other Widows. The doctor who never mentioned his name only explained the last few tests he needed to run on you. You agreed as you knew you were supposed to.
"Use your mind to stop the guard from shooting you" the Doctor instructed behind a bullet proof window. To anybody that would've sounded crazy and scared you even, but it felt almost normal to you, it didn't faze you and you weren't scared.
The guard pointed their gun directly at you, your eyes moved from theirs to the barrel of the gun. "Shoot!" The doctor spoke over the speaker. The guard pulled the trigger followed by the sound of a click, another try and another click.
"Now let them shoot you" the doctor spoke again, this time you looked at the guard in the eyes again as they pulled the trigger. The bullet hits you in the shoulder blade not giving you any feel for pain. "Now pull the bullet out" the Doctor said. Keeping your eyes on the guard, you brought your right hand to your left shoulder with two fingers and dug into the wound pulling the bullet out and dropping it to the floor. "Good, now please take her to medical to be stitched up".
The guard took you to medical where they cleaned you up and the bullet wound before stitching it up and covering it. "That should heal within 3 days" the doctor noted on your file. "How are you feeling?" he asked looking up at you. "Fine thank you" you replied almost like it was scripted as the doctor noted your response.
"You're not hungry or thirsty?"
"No"
"Still, you should at least drink water even if you don't feel the urge to drink" he explains, you returned a soft nod and looked into the distance. "General Dreykov will be happy with today's tests and so should you" he spoke before leaving the room, the guard waited for the nurse to give the okay before returning you to your room. Widows walked by and looked at you as you sat on the uncomfortable bunker that was now your bed, no memory of the months you'd gain from being free were accessible from your mind and with no sense of being besides your name, you sat with your eyes glued to the floor and waited for the only thing you knew that was next, meal call.
----
Days went by and for Yelena and the others a sense of emptiness was within, Yelena refused to do anything but look for you, taking Kate and traveling well outside of town for any signs or clues as to where Red Room could've been but nothing. Kate worried for Yelena with each search coming up empty. "Let's try again in the morning, it's getting late, and we need to head back before others worry" she suggested. "Kate Bishop, you can go but I will not. I promised things to her, I can't…I'm not giving up" Yelena replied but Kate wouldn't leave, she stayed for support and hoped that Yelena's fear wasn't true.
Natasha kept a close eye on Yelena and would follow the two teens from a safe distance whenever they left town. As much as she, Melina and Alexei wanted you back, the reality of that was slim. Melina had broken Dreykov's trust and there was no way she could gain it back; she was surprised he hadn't killed her off already, Alexei as well.
Wanda hated that her and Yelena couldn't be in the same room for long together before the scoffs and mumbled opinions came along. Wanda spent most of the time waiting for you at the shared rock, hoping one day soon you'd come by and sit with her once again. She knew the odds were low but there wasn't much she could do besides hope.
"Wands, come home" Pietro spoke as Wanda sat on the rock. "I will, just a few more minutes" she said, Pietro walked up the rock and started to climb it, "Don't…please" Wanda stopped him, "don't take her spot" she added as her eyes dropped. Pietro got down and walked in front of Wanda. "Wands" he spoke softly, her eyes looking up at him filled with tears, "A few more minutes" he said and sat on the ground to keep Wanda company. "Thank you" she spoke in an almost whisper. The two sat in silence for more than just a few more minutes, Pietro wanting to comfort his sister with a hug as she let her tears flow, "What if we don't find her" she sobbed.
"Wanda, are you really going to do that to yourself? You don't talk in what ifs" Pietro cocked a brow. "I know…but…you didn't know her, Pietro" Wanda replied with puffy red eyes.
"I know her well enough to know she touched your heart"
His words made Wanda's eyes tear even more, "I'm sorry Wands, I didn't mean to make things worse"
"You didn't" she cried, "I miss her and I'm…I'm so scared for her"
"Y/n is strong I'm su-"
"Pietro, please…I know what you're going to say but you don't quite understand, and I don't need to hear that she's strong and she'll be fine. I know she's strong, but I know she isn't okay so please, save me the speech" Wanda cut him off trying to hold back on crying even more. Pietro wasn't sure what to say, he barely knew you and only met you in passing and what Wanda had said about you, for the most part he thought you were nice and a little quiet. "We'll go when you're ready" he said, and the twins sat in silence while Wanda held on to the little hope she had.
----
Being back in Red Room felt like you never left, at night when you were supposed to be asleep, you had your back turned to the camera and stared at the wall thinking about what you had learned from training that day. Other Widows still took a peep at you as they walked by your room, but you did as told and never made the effort to look at them or acknowledge the one Widow who brought you the 3 meals you ate a day. She tried to make a conversation and introduced herself as Georgia, she asked for your name and age, but you knew all too well that Dreykov would be watching over the camera, so you stayed silent and never looked up at her.
The next morning you were woken by the one person you were yet to come across, Madame B. "Wake up. General Dreykov needs to see you in his office" she spoke, your eyes needing no time to wake up completely. Madame waited for you just outside your room as you got your self-washed and dressed before she led you to Dreykov's office.
"The doctor tells me you've passed your test to perfection" Dreykov spoke as you sat in the seat across from his desk. "Yes, sir" you replied while looking blankly at him. "Today is a big day for you. You will be giving your all to me. The other Widows, they need to know that what you did was not acceptable, and they will watch as you complete your program" he explained, you knew what this meant and nodded.
"Yes, sir. I will do what is expected of me"
Dreykov smirked at your reply knowing he had complete control over you once again and this time he was going to make sure to never lose you again. "Once you have recovered you will continue your training which will be delivered by Madame B and only when she is confident in your progress, then you will be placed on missions." He stood from his seat and walked to stand behind you.
"This is your home" he whispered in your ear, "You belong to me. You answer to me" he added. "Yes, sir" you replied looking straight in front of you. "Good, you may take her now" He turned to Madame B who stood tall by the door. "Come now Y/n" she spoke causing you to stand from the seat and walk over to her. "She should recover faster than the others" Dreykov informed the supervisor before the two of you left his office.
"Get onto the bed" she instructed as a nurse wheeled the bed to you. Once on the bed the nurse strapped you in by your wrists and ankles before taking you to the medical bay. "This is for your own good. You will take you place in the world properly this time after this procedure" she looked down at you as you watched the widows gather to watch from behind a large glass window. "You don't have to do this" you said, "I don't have a family"
"This is to make sure it starts that way. Now stay still and this will all be over shortly" Madame B replied as she gave the nurse a light nod. You felt the prick of anesthesia being injected into your arm before your eyes draped shut and a mask was placed over your mouth and nose.
You woke up back in your room strapped to the bed by your ankles, trying to prop yourself up with the support of your elbows you were lightly pushed back down by Madame B with her hand on your chest. "You can't sit up just yet" she said as you looked at her with a confused look. "The procedure was successful; you should be happy about that. General Dreykov requested it to be done different that how we do it to the other Widows. You will have a scar to remind you of your loyalty to Dreykov and Red Room. You are to stay rested until you are completely healed. I will check on you every few days, until then, Georgia will wait on you hand and foot until we can start training for your mission" she explained without a slight tone change.
You waited until she left for you to life the covers and see the bandages on your abdomen, tears filled your eyes as the reality sunk in. At 16 years old, not now, not ever will you be able to carry a child and the idea of family meant nothing. This was your home; this is where you belong. You belonged to Dreykov and you are property of the Red Room.
----
"It's been a month and none of you have come up with any plan to get her back!" Yelena snapped at the table. "Yelena, we are trying but we have nothing to go on" Melina explained with a hurt in her eyes. "Bullshit! You were able to find us, why can't you just do the same thing?" Yelena argued.
"Lena, it's not that easy" Natasha stepped in, "we all want to find Red Room and bring her back, we do, but we really don't have the first clue as to where Red Room is"
"Natasha is right. We don't have any ideas" Alexei said. Yelena's frustration only grew bigger by words that disappointed her. "Then we try and draw him out! Bring him out of hiding" she suggested.
"And how do you suppose we do that?" Melina asked.
"Kate. We set her up as –"
"No! Yelena, that's not going to happen. I know you're upset and worried, we all are but we will not be giving Dreykov anything in this!" Melina shut her idea down before she could even finish her sentence. "But he already has Y/n!" Yelena argued, "I spoke to Kate already about it and she said –"
"Yelena, I said no!" Melina's tone was stern and the look in her eyes Yelena knew there was no fighting her on the idea. "But he has her!" She broke, tears falling freely from her eyes. "I know sweetheart" Melina placed a comforting arm around her, in anger she shook her off and stood from the dining table "Screw you! All of you!" she spat before storming off to her room.
"I'll talk to her" Alexei said after a few moments of silence, Melina nodded before looking over to Natasha. "She has an idea" Nat spoke, "we know Dreykov's weakness, young girls who don't have anybody, it might work" she adds.
"I will not put any other young girl in his control, not again" Melina replied while shaking her head.
"You wouldn't be"
"And if something goes wrong? He gains not 1 but 2 and we risk the chance of ever getting Y/n. I will not do that."
"Maybe we report it to S.H.E.I.L.D" Nat paused as Melina looked at her with a slight tilt of her head, "I've been looking into joining them…make up for the crap I've done"
"How long has this been any idea of yours?"
"I've already had a couple of meetings with Nick Fury and so far, it sounds promising. I think they could help, it's worth a try" Natasha explains, "they already know that HYDRA has some kind of agreement with Dreykov"
"Do they know where Red Room is?" Melina asked.
"I don't think so, but it wouldn't hurt to ask" Nat replied.
----
"How are you feeling?" Madame B asked as the nurse checked your bandage. "Fine Ma'am" you replied while looking up at her. "Good. Once you are done here, get dressed. We must start your training today" she replied.

Big Roles
Hailee Steinfeld x Male Reader
Request - Hailee Steinfeld x actor/singer!male!reader where y/n is a 26 year old single father who has a 5 year old daughter. His old girlfriend passed away due to an illness (you can decide what illness). Y/n meet Hailee during filming Hawkeye he was cast as the clone/son of Natasha Romanoff. During the few months of filming y/n develops feelings for Hailee, so does Hailee. During Christmas Hailee kissed y/n under the missile toe and they started dating. He doesn't let Hailee meet his daughter until he is very sure that the relationship between them lasts. After 6 months of dating y/n tells Hailee about his daughter. Ending fluffy and sweet.
Tumblr media
You arrived on set late due to traffic and you apologized for being late. You rushed to put on your suit and makeup, Hailee smiled at you.
“We get to do our scenes today,” Hailee said.
“I feel a lot of pressure being Natasha’s son,” You said.
“I felt that too when I took the part for Kate. You will do fine, Y/n” Hailee smiled.
“Thanks. I came late because the babysitter arrived late due to traffic and when I left home the traffic got worse” You said.
“Oh, she is feeling better?” Hailee asked.
Last week you told Hailee that your daughter had a stomach ache.
“Yeah, she is doing better. Apparently, she was sneaking candy into her pockets and eating it when I wasn't looking” You said.
“Smart girl but that is funny” Hailee laughed.
You show Hailee the Halloween pictures and Hailee loves it.
“You made a cute Olaf. And oh my God, she is a cute Elsa” Hailee smiled.
“Thanks. She is obsessed with frozen. What did you do for Halloween? I just took Rachel to get candies” You said.
“That sounds nice. I went to a party here in the city. And this was my costume,“ Hailee said.
Hailee takes out her cell phone and shows you pictures from the party. Later, you and Hailee started to work on the scenes with Jeremy and Scarlett. You have a similar accent to Yelena but a little heavier because your character Clone was raised with Melina Vostokoff and Natasha. And your character Clone doesn't fully understand what is sarcasm.
“I'm always impressed that you can change your accent easily,” Hailee said.
“Thanks,” You said and winked.
Hailee smiled then you do scenes with Scarlett and Jeremy alone. But Hailee watched you act on set and she is impressed with your acting skills.
“It seems you have a crush on Y/n,” Florence said
“What!... What are you talking about?” Hailee nervously said.
Florence giggled and she can tell that Hailee has a crush on you.
“You always smile at him. And you laughed at that lame joke, he told us about a few weeks ago” Florence said.
“The joke wasn't that bad... It was a little funny” Hailee said
“Whatever. Y/n is single and he is good looking man, and he is a gentleman and he cares about his daughter a lot” Florence said
“But I don't know if he would go out with me,” Hailee said.
“You are hot and I think he would go out with you,” Florence said.
“I guess... I don't know” Hailee said.
“Don't be scared” Florence said.
-----
You are in Hailee’s trailer and you will do a live Q&A on Instagram. She has on her purple suit and you have a similar suit to Natasha's but your suit shows more dark grey. You start to read the question first...
“Do you like working with Hailee?” You said.
“Do you like working with me?” Hailee asked.
“Hailee is such a diva. She hasn't paid me back that time I took her and Flo out for lunch, and she always makes me mess up my lines” You teased.
She smacked your arm and you gasped.
“Wow, that is assault” You laughed.
“Jerk” Hailee teased.
“I’m kidding. I like working with Hailee and she is fun to work with” You said.
“Y/n can sometimes be annoying but he does make me laugh a lot. And I like how he always changes his accent back and forth easily” Hailee smiled.
You and Hailee smiled at each other. Some fans start to write that they ship your Character Clone with Kate.
---
Later, you and Kate do another scene with Scarlett and Jeremy.
“We can't keep calling him ‘Clone’ I mean it can be his hero name but not his real name. Didn't you give him a name?” Kate said.
“I didn't get a chance to name him. They took him away before I can hold him,” Natasha said.
“What you would have named me if you didn't give me away?” you said.
“I didn't know what to name you,” Natasha said.
“How did all of this happen?” Kate asked
“Dreykov was making clones. He managed to get Natasha’s DNA and make a clone. When Natasha found out, she asked Melina for help but they found a baby boy in the lab. Natasha didn't know how to be a parent” Clint said.
“I wanted him to have a normal life,” Natasha said.
You didn't say anything but you walked away. Natasha feels bad and the scene ends.

Hailee has been working on a song and she wanted you to sing the song with her. You agreed to it, you would meet up with Hailee at the studio to record the song.
“Sorry, I'm late. Rachel wanted to play with her toys with me” You said
“That is adorable, Y/n. She with her mom now?” Hailee said
“No. She passed away when Rachel was two years old, she had breast cancer. Since then, I haven't been in a serious relationship. I don't want to bring just any woman around my daughter. I have to make sure she will be a good role model for my daughter” You said.
“I’m sorry about your loss. But I understand what you mean. Ready to start singing? We have to do the chorus” Hailee said.
“Yeah, I'm ready,” You said.
You and Hailee go into the booth and started to sing.
“Y/n, I think you should sing that part again with more energy,” Hailee said.
“Oh, again. Okay, I will try again. Is it just that part?” You said.
“Maybe, sing the whole part again but with more energy,” Hailee said.
“Okay, I will try again,” You said
You start to drink water then you try to sing again. While singing, you and Hailee did argue about which chorus should go first and last, etc. The argument didn't turn into a huge fight, she managed to fix the problem.
----
You have the week off and you have been spending time with your daughter. She is happy to have you home and play with you.
“I don't want tomatoes,” Rachel said.
She doesn't like tomatoes on her burger.
“If you don't eat it then I will take your french fries and you won't watch frozen,” You said.
“Really?” Rachel asked.
“Yes, really. Eat your tomatoes” You said.
“I want to see frozen” Rachel said.
“Later, before you go to bed,” You said.
“Yay!” Rachel smiled.
Minutes later, Hailee called you on facetime. And you picked up, you smile at her.
“Hey, Y/n!” Hailee smiled.
“Hailee, I like your outfit. You look beautiful “ You said.
She blushed.
“I called to see how you been doing and Rachel too. Like my outfit? I'm going to a fashion show here in Milan Hailee said.
“Sounds fun. I'm here about to see Frozen 2 with Rachel” You said.
“That’s cute. I saw the movie, it's actually very funny. And I love Olaf” Hailee said.
“Dad, I like Olaf too!” Rachel yelled then she smiled.
You spoke with Hailee for a little while then you watched the movie with Rachel then she wanted to play tea party and you dressed up for her.
------
You had to go to a party to celebrate the success of Hawkeye. At the party, you start to speak with friends and your manager introduced you to new people. But Hailee is across the room, you stare at her. Hailee is talking to her friends and she starts to look at you. You and Hailee stare at each other
✯ ✯ ✯ ✫
Florence invited you and Hailee to a Christmas party at her house. Hailee sees you and she is smiling at you, and Florence did notice how you and Hailee are smiling at each other.
“I will let you two, lovers talk. I have to make sure there are more cups” Florence said.
Florence left and you keep smiling at Hailee.
“Y/n, you came. I got something for you” Hailee said.
“Really?” You said.
“Yeah, it's in the room. Come with me” Hailee said.
You followed Hailee to the room and she gives you a gift bag. You take the items out of the bag.
“I got a gift for you and Rachel. Since she likes frozen I got her a coloring book and mini toys with Olaf included. And for you, I wasn't sure what to get so... I got you a gift card and a watch” Hailee said.
“Wow, Hailee this is great. Thank you so much and she will love it” You said.
You hugged her and you smell the perfume on her. She stared into your eyes and she wants to kiss you, but you got nervous and moved away.
“Again, thank you. Do you want to get a drink?” You said.
“Yeah, sure. Oh, Flo got these amazing cupcakes and you have to try them” Hailee said.
“I like cupcakes,” You said.
You follow her to the kitchen and you try the cupcakes. Then You take selfies with Florence and Hailee, and they posted the pictures on their Instagram account and tag you on it.
You are having a good time at the party. You and Hailee are making each other laugh, and she would gently caress your hand. You and Hailee grabbed the drinks and headed to the living room...
“Y/n, look up,” Hailee said.
“What?” You said
You look up at the ceiling and there it's a mistletoe. You moved closer and you leaned in and kissed her and she kissed you back.
-----
Time Skip...
You are celebrating Christmas with your daughter. And you are opening the gifts with her and she is loving the gift Hailee got for her.
“I have a girlfriend,” You said.
“Eww,” Rachel said.
You start to laugh and she starts to laugh too.
“Her name is Hailee and I want you to meet her,” You said.
“Why?” Rachel asked.
“Because I want you to meet her. I care about her and I want to meet you” You said.
“Dad, she is your best friend?” Rachel asked.
“Yes, she is,” You said.
You stand up and you pick her up. She asked if she can eat cookies and you said yes, she starts to smile.
✯ ✯ ✯ ✫
6 months later...
You are in Hailee’s trailer. You and Hailee are kissing each other but didn't take it further. Now you cuddle with Hailee, you have your head on her chest.
“Do you see us being together long term?” You asked.
You sit up then she sat up.
“I do see us being together long term. I really like you, Y/n. Plus, I have told you stuff that I never told anyone before” Hailee said.
“Same with you,” You said.
“Do you want me to meet your daughter?” Hailee said.
“Yeah, I want you to meet her. She knows I'm dating but I want you to be sure before we can take the next step” You said.
“I know how much she means to you, Y/n. Yeah, I will like to meet her” Hailee smiled.
“This is great!” You smiled.
She pushed you down to the bed now she is on top. You and Hailee are smiling and she starts to kiss you. Her lipstick is on your lips and you can't stop smiling.
-----
Today Hailee will meet your daughter and you are feeling nervous. You and Hailee agreed to spend time at your house. She knocked on the door and you opened it.
“Hailee you made it” You said.
“Y/n, I'm nervous about this” Hailee said.
“Do you want to reschedule?” You asked.
“No, I still want to meet her. I got donuts for us” Hailee said.
“Sweet. Her favorite snack is donuts besides pizza and French fries” You smiled.
Rachel runs towards you and she hides behind your leg.
“Hi, Rachel my name is Hailee,” Hailee said.
Rachel looks away and she has her arms around you.
“Rachel, she said hi to you. What do you say?” You said.
“Hi,” Rachel said.
“I got donuts for us to eat,” Hailee said.
Hailee followed you to the kitchen, she gave a donut to Rachel. Later, you go to the backyard, and Hailee is pushing Rachel on the swing. You see them having a good time and you start to smile. You take a picture of them and you don't post it online.
You went inside the house to grab something to drink while Hailee and Rachel are playing together, but Rachel fell. She scrapped her knee and she starts to cry. While you go towards Rachel, Hailee picked her up
“Put her on the counter,” You said.
“Dad, it hurts” Rachel cried.
Her knee is bleeding but it's not too bad. You went to grab the first aid kit, and Hailee wipe the tears away.
“It will be okay. Don't cry, your knee will heal and you will be fine” Hailee said.
You start to clean her knee.
“She is right. Your knee will be okay and you will be okay too. Now you can pick any band-aids you want” You smiled.
“I want Mickey,” Rachel said.
You the band-aid of Mickey on her knee. Hailee picked her up and starts to rub Rachel’s back gently.
“Looks like, you two are friends,” You said.
“It looks like we did” Hailee smiled.
You smile at Hailee. Later, Hailee helps you cook the chicken, and Rachel tries to eat a donut.
“No donut,” You said.
You take it away and put it in the box. During dinner, Rachel starts to talk about frozen and who is her favorite characters. Hailee thinks it's cute and you are happy that Rachel likes Hailee.

Requests: OPEN
[Main masterlist] [Marvel masterlist]
Tumblr media
"What the hell is that?"
Melina lifted my shirt, exposing my belly, where a large black and violet stain was. With a quick movement on my part, I tried to remove the fabric from her hand, but, it was too late, Melina had already seen the stain.
"Nothing, just, you know, things got a little out of hand last night, Fred was a little pushy…"
"That's bullshit, that hit wasn't an accident" her eyes, hazelnuts began to turn a darker brown, as her brow furrows, causing a small crease to form between his eyebrows "does he hit you?"
"What?! Of course not"
"DON'T LIE TO ME, Y/N!" Melina, already pissed, jumped up, and furiously raised her index finger, pointing at me "Do you really think I never realized how you changed? Literally, it was just a matter of for you to start going out with Fred, for you to stop visiting me and the girls, for you to stop going out with your other friends. Y/N it was just a matter of you starting your relationship with Fred, for your mother to call me, worried, because she hasn't heard from you for days” at this point, Melina's voice was broken, tears accumulated in her eyes, and even , some had spilled onto her cheeks, her eyes full of anger and impotence "so, now, have the courage to look me straight in the eye, and answer me, that man, does he mistreat you? Has he hit you?"
I felt my own eyes start to fill with tears, and along with my memories, they made a lump form in my throat, so, I just put my head down, my arms around my own waist, and gave a little nod
I couldn't see what Melina was doing, or if she had moved, but, all I could hear was a loud growl from Melina, along with the crash of something against the wall, making my poor body jump in surprise.
"этот чертов сукин сын" Melina spoke, walking in circles, like a caged lioness "клянусь, я убью его" the brunette clenched her fists tightly, trying to avoid breaking something else "Как ты посмел прикоснуться к моему цветочку?"
"Melina, please calm down" despite not understanding her Russian, I knew the woman was having a fit of rage, so I tried to talk some sense into her.
"Он сукин сын, он никогда не узнает, как обращаться с моей принцессой так, как я" Melina looked directly at me, her eyes bloodshot.
With one movement, Melina grabbed a sweatshirt, her car keys, and walked out the door.
"Where are you going?" I asked her before she left
"I'll be back soon"
And without further ado, I start, leaving me with concern in my mouth.
It wasn't long before I could hear two small pairs of footsteps coming my way.
"Y/N!" Greeting little Natasha, while hugging my waist
"Hello, my girls" I stroked both their heads, trying to reassure them and me along with them
"Where did mom go?" asked little Yelena
"She said she had some errands to run, so... today I'll be her babysitter."
The smaller blonde gave a small celebration, causing her older sister to roll her eyes, but still with a smile plastered on her face.
"Can we watch a movie?"
"Sure" both girls ran to the room, without giving me time to finish "we'll see anything but 'The Little Mermaid'"
"But, Y/N, it's my favorite..."
———————————————————————————
It had already been 4 hours since Melina had left, even the two girls were already asleep in their rooms, but I kept walking around the room, worried about not having news from Melina; until heavy footsteps along with the sound of keys came from the front door, so I hurried to open the door, meeting a brunette, with disheveled hair, red and bloody knuckles, a small cut on her lip and small stains blood splattered across her cheekbones
"What the hell happened to you, Melina? Where were you?" With a quick movement, I took her arm and forced her to sit on the sofa, while I knelt between her legs, so I could see her face.
“I just went to teach Fred a lesson”
"YOU ARE CRAZY?!" of the impression, almost and I give her a slap to her cheek "Mel, how can you hit a man who doubles your weight and height? He could have killed you"
"And what did you want me to do?" Melina, already angry, looked me in the eyes, trying to convey her emotions to me "did you want me to sit with my arms crossed, while I watched how an idiot hit my little flower?" her frown softened, while her right hand lightly caressed my chin "I couldn't live knowing that that asshole could take everything from you, including your life" her eyes began to water "I can't even, with the simple fact that , a person who supposedly claimed to love you, dared to lay a hand on you, my life, I would never have touched a single hair, I do love you. Because, princess, I'm better than him, I could be your prince charming” with her thumbs, I try to wipe my tears, which I had barely realized, had fallen “tell me, why did he dare to do such an act?”
"I do not want to talk about that"
Melina seemed to understand my position, so she just kept quiet, while, with her strength, she made me sit on her lap, hugging me tightly
Almost like an impulse, I started to trace a path of kisses, from her pulse, to her lips, but just as I was going to give her another kiss, she separated me, running her thumb over my lips.
"Honey, you don't have to pay me with kisses, I would do anything for you, even if you don't reciprocate"
"Mel, that's the problem, I didn't know what love was, until I fell in love with you, so deeply, that it was impossible to hide it from Fred's eyes" the simple fact of naming the man made Melina tense her hands , causing her soft grip to become a slight strangling attempt. I started to kiss her thumb, causing her to relax her grip "but let's not talk about him, better, let's clean my heroine's hands, before the girls realize it"
I tried to get up from her lap, but she had such a good grip on me, she made me sit back down.
“My princess, I swear, I will be better than him”
“Mel, honey, I know you will be my only 'better'”
Translation:
этот чертов сукин сын - that fucking son of a bitch
клянусь, я убью его - I swear I'm going to kill him
Как ты посмел прикоснуться к моему цветочку? - How dare you lay a hand on my little flower?
Он сукин сын, он никогда не узнает, как обращаться с моей принцессой так, как я - He is a son of a bitch, he will never know how to treat my princess like I do

The Hope I Find In You || Chp 1
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: Widow file number #Y022312L
Summary: While freeing the Widows under Dreykov’s control Yelena finds a young Widow. One that reminded her so much of what it was like to grow up in an environment like that. Because of this reminder, she takes her in an attempt to let her grow in a healthier environment. Although she wouldn’t realize till it was too late that there would be more repercussions than she thought.
Pairing: big sister!Yelena Belova x teen!fem!reader
Warnings: Nothing I know of but let me know if I should add anything.
Word count: 797
a/n: This is for my more on-time 1k celebration on TikTok. For future reference in the story if there’s any text that <” Looks like this.”> it just means the character is saying something in a different language, I’m just trying to have minimal google translated stuff. Also, I just want to give minor inspo credit to upat4amwiththemoon check her out she’s pretty cool. Hope you enjoy! (Reblogs are welcome but please no translating and critiques/advice are heavily encouraged.) Master list link.
Name: Y/n L/n
Place of birth: Dalyrskiy Nasleg, Russia
DOB: December 23rd, 2002
Languages: Russian/German/English/ASL/Spanish
Identifiable markings: Bottom lip scar
Mission qualifications: Being part of the technologically compliant and chemically subjugated program (otherwise known as TCCS) widows including Y/n are more obedient making them easier to control through the white widow framework. As any widow, Y/n is also trained in hand-to-hand combat, disguise, interrogation, espionage, infiltrating secure locations, and hacking encrypted computer systems.
Notes: When conscious/aware Y/n has shown emotional processing difficulties. The TCCS program limits her emotions but when at full access to them there is less control. Before being put into the program she had gone into a blind rage attacking and killing 4 dormitory guards in an attempt to escape the facility she resided in at the time. If we were able to control this anger it could be useful in the future. I do worry though, that with her being under excessive control with this program she has not had the chance to learn how to control her emotions on her own. This could have devastating drawbacks in the future. Future updates will be made on the program when necessary.
-Melina Vostokoff
A crappy hotel on Vul. Oleksandra Nevsʹkoho, Ukraine 2018
Yelena sat there stunned at the file. So many thoughts were rushing through her all at once. While the red room was gone and done for so many widows were out there, so many young widows. This was the youngest widow she was on a mission to rescue that was still doing things against her will. Sixteen, sixteen, and on her own doing god knows what to survive. What was worse to her was the fact that Melina knew about this. “Yelena” Nina called “Yelena!” Yelena snapped out of her thoughts finally. “Yes? Sorry.”
“Annika was on patrol and she spotted the girl. We need to leave, like right now.” Yelena got up in rush readying herself. She looked over to Nina reminding her “Make sure to turn your spider bites to stun. She’s a kid we’re not trying to kill her.” Nina rolled her eyes opening the door to leave “You underestimate her Yelena, you read her file. She’s dangerous.”
“Stun mode Nina.”
“Fine, but if you get hurt I won’t be the one to patch you up.”
Misʹkyy Park
Noticing what the location was Yelena immediately questioned Annika on coms “What is she doing at a park of all places? Seems very public to pull something off.”
“I intercepted a message she received from an anonymous employer. It’s a supply pick-up, you can’t get a job without identification.”
“Everyone be quiet.” Nina said sternly “I see her, I’m moving in.”
Y/n heard the stern comment in the background and looked behind her to see the widow walking closer. After spotting two more she took off running through the trees in the park. “Дерьмо, she’s running I’ll go after her. Nina, you make sure the people stay out of the way. Annika, I want you to try and chase her towards me so I can stun her.” Yelena typical volunteered to gas the widows, she was better at comforting them after.
As Annika chased after Y/n her com when off for a second. “Annika? Annika? Do you copy?” Yelena was never comfortable when someone turned off their coms on a mission. Luckily she was reassured “Ow, Yeah- yeah I copy. The little shit shot me with her spider bites, they’re on stun either.” Yelena wanted to be gentle on this mission but it didn’t seem like that was an option anymore. “Okay, change of plans. Nina, you get Annika back to the hotel I’ll meet you both back there with the kid.” Even on mission Yelena always wanted to make sure the ones around her were okay. It was a better change of pace from the red room where they would have you prioritize the mission over the people with you.
As Y/n climbed up a fence that separated the park from the street Yelena took the chance to get her shooting her with her spider bites on the highest stun setting. As she was shot she fell to the ground back first with the duffle she was carrying barely breaking her fall. Finally catching up to Y/n Yelena pinned her down gassing her with the red dust. <” You shouldn’t have done that.”>  Y/n managed to get those few words in Russian out while gasping for air after being shot. “You were running you left me no choice.”
Y/n managed to push Yelena off her still wincing in pain “No not that. Thank you for that. But, my employers will not be happy with you.”

Letters to a Goodbye
Tumblr media
Part 2 of It's Okay. Let me Go
Summary: You gave Natasha an important mission to delivery the letters you've written before the time heist. These are those letters.
Warning: character death, guilt, good-bye letters, Natasha needs a hug in this one.
Word Count: 7.6
Natasha kept the letters with her till after the funeral. They felt heavy in her pocket but there was so much grief, it felt wrong to add more to it. But as the funeral died down, she was uncertain about the future, unsure of what the next move for the Avengers was. Wanda was the first letter. She found the Sokovian by the water’s edge, lost in her thoughts. The Black Widow walked over to her. “Hi,” she softly said, not wanting to disrupt the calm moment.
“Hi,” Wanda said, not looking away from the water. “I’m sorry about Y/n,” Natasha hated how much it hurt to hear your name. It felt like there was a snake wrapped around her heart and lungs, squeezing so tight. Wanda looked over her shoulder, her eyes were glossy with tears. “She was good.”
“Yeah, she was,” Natasha said, sitting down next to her. “I’m sorry about Vision.” Wanda looked down at her hands at the mention of his name. A few tears left her eyes. “I wish we could have done more.” Wanda nodded, wiping the tears away.
“Me too,” they sat in silence, watching the water and the wind blow through the trees. Finally, Wanda’s letter became too heavy. She took it out of her pocket.
“Here,” she said, handing it to her. “I don’t know if this letter will help or hurt more. But knowing my sister, it will probably help.” Wanda took it with shaky hands.
“She wrote me a letter,” Wanda said in disbelief. Natasha nodded.
“Her backup plan as she called it,” the Russian picked up a rock and skipped it across the water. “It seems like she knew she wasn’t going to come home.” Wanda smiled, tapping the letter against her hand.
“That sounds like her,” Natasha nodded.
“I have more letters to give out,” she said, standing up. “But I’m here for you, Wanda. You aren’t alone in this.” She walked back towards the cabin.
“You aren’t either,” Wanda’s voice stopped the Black Widow. “I know a thing or two about grieving a sibling.” Natasha sighed.
“I feel like I’ve grieved her too many times,” she admitted not turning around to face her. “When I defected to SHIELD I never thought I’d see her again, I didn’t want to see her. So, I grieved for a sister I never wanted. But then Yelena and I reunited with her and a piece of me that I didn’t know was missing was found. We were going to be a family again. But now,” Natasha looked back at the witch. “She won’t be coming back this time. I wish there was a way to tell her we did it. We won.” Wanda smiled.
“She knows. They both do,” Natasha nodded, looking back at the cabin. Yelena was sitting on the steps of Tony’s cabin, watching Morgan play with Nathaniel and Lila. The blonde had barely said two words to her or anyone. “She’ll come around, Nat. Just give her time.” The redhead nodded.
“If you need someone. I’m here.”
*
Wanda watched Natasha walk back to the cabin. Her shoulders were hunched in grief. She was holding onto so much guilt but Wanda didn’t want to go through her mind to see what happened, it wasn’t her place. She looked at the letter in her hand, she felt undeserving of one. Her fingers traced over her name. Letting out a shaky breath, she opened the envelope and unfolded the letter.
Wanda -
I wish I could offer my condolence in person but like we talked about all those years life is so uncertain. I am deeply sorry about Vision and I wish there was more we could have done. I remember you asking me if I have ever found love and I said no. But I was wrong. Indeed, I never had a chance to find love like you and Vision but I found love in other things; my sister, my parents, and how beautiful the world is when you are free to live it. I have to admit I envy the love you and Vision got to share but I am also grateful. I can’t put into words the pain you must be feeling.
You have been through a lot, Wanda Maximoff. You’ve lost and gained and lost again. No, I didn’t ask Natasha for your story, it would be wrong of me. That being said, it would be unfair of me to ask you to keep an eye on Natasha and Yelena when you’ve gone through so much. That shouldn’t stop you from asking them for help. Natasha can be a little rough around the edges and be compared to a feisty cat but her heart is good. Our mother told us to never let the Red Room take our hearts and she kept hers. Now Yelena is probably quiet right now, her emotions all over the place. But I call her little sun for a reason. She provides a light to the world that no one else can. So let them be there for you, little witch.
I wish we could have had that girl’s night we talked about when the world wasn’t ending but it had to be me. I think you’d understand that. We’ll see each other in the next life but I hope not too soon. Live for me. Live for Vision. But most importantly live for yourself.
Wanda refolded the letter and placed it against her chest. She cried. Life was so unfair.
*
Natasha walked over to Steve. He changed out of his suit and tie and into his Captain America suit. A briefcase was in one hand and Mjolnir was in the other as he talked with Sam. Steve was preparing to return the stones to their correct spot. Sam saw her approaching and smiled at her. “All set soldier?” Natasha asked. Steve nodded.
“As ready as I’ll ever be,” Natasha smiled.
“Can I borrow you for a second?” She asked the super soldier. Sam patted Steve on the shoulder and walked over to Bucky. She found a picnic table, away from everyone, and she knew Steve was following her. She jumped on the top with her feet on the bench and Steve set everything down and sat next to her.
“Do you need a hug?” Steve asked. Natasha nodded, not trusting her voice. The super soldier put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her into him. Natasha let out a shaky breath, enjoying the warmth he gave off. Steve was always naturally warm, it had to do with the serum running through his veins.
“I don’t know how to do this,” she said. Her words were muffled as her face was buried in his chest. But she knew Steve could hear her. “She was my constant for 5 years. For 5 years, I knew she had my back.” Natasha ended the hug and put her arms on her lap, looking down. “How did you deal with it?” Steve looked at Bucky who was shaking his head at something Sam said, who was laughing. He must have told Bucky a joke.
“It was hard,” he finally said, looking back at Natasha. “But I had you and Sam. You helped a lot.” Natasha smiled. “You and Yelena will get through this. You guys are some of the strongest people I know,” Natasha cleared her throat. She pulled out his letter and handed it to him.
“She wrote you something,” Steve took it. “Before the time heist,” she stood up. “Be safe and come back to us.”
“I will.”
*
Natasha smiled, kissed his cheek, and walked over to the platform where Bruce was working. Steve was transported back to when they stood in front of Fury’s grave and she kissed him on the cheek, telling him to ask Sharon out. He looked at the letter in his hand, a little surprised you had the time to write to him. The super soldier opened the letter
Steve -
I knew you through stories before I met you. My father, the Red Guardian, told stories of how you and he fought. What he failed to tell me was that you were on ice long before he had a chance to meet you. But the man he made you seem like couldn’t compare to the man you are. You're courageous and you hold the weight of the world on your shoulders with a grace I envy. But I think that weight became too much.
I hate to admit but over the past 5 years, I grew to resent you and the other Avengers. You moved on, dealing with the guilt of the Battle of Wakanda in a way that was best for you. Because of that, you didn’t see the guilt that ate at Natasha. You didn’t see the late nights that nightmares kept her up or days I had to force her to eat something because she didn’t deserve food. I’m not telling you this to fill you with guilt. I envied you and the others because you could move on. In the end, you all came back together to rewrite a wrong.
The Avengers are a beautiful family. As families go they have their ups and downs, they fight and forgive, and love each other to the very end. I am glad my sister had you when they needed a family. Your family taught them how to love, laugh, smile, and be free.
You are a good man, Steve Rogers. I hope the best for you and the rest of the team. Thank them for me for being there for Natasha and Yelena when I wasn’t. Thank you.
Steve reread the letter and folded it, placing it in his pocket. He looked up and saw Natasha talking with Sam. He said something that made her laugh. It was good to see her laugh.
*
Natasha waited with bated breath as she listened to Burce's countdown to bringing Steve back. The doctor right before sending Steve back told her that he tried to bring you back, Vision too. Bruce said one and Steve appeared, a little disoriented when his helmet came off. Natasha noticed he had tears in his eyes. “I tried,” he said. “I tried.” Natasha knew what he meant.
*
Bucky was saying goodbye to T’Challa. Natasha was surprised to see his name among your letters but the man trained you at one point. He turned around and was surprised to see her. “Natalia,” he said as he walked over.
“Bucky, how are you?” The man looked tired.
“I’m ready for the fighting to be done,” Natasha nodded. She understood that feeling too well.
“I have something for you,” she handed him the letter. “Y/n wrote to you before -” she couldn’t bring herself to finish the sentence. Bucky took the letter with his flesh hand.
“Thank you,” he said. “I’m still getting my memories back, some things are clearer than others. But you sister I remember. She wouldn’t stop talking about you and Yelena,” Natasha fought tears that swelled in her eyes. “It was rather annoying at times.” He said it with a smile and it made Natasha laugh as she whipped away a few tears. “She helped me a lot during that time.”
“Yeah,” Natasha whispered. “I’ll see you around Bucky.”
*
“Nat,” the Black Widow stopped and faced him. “I’m here for you. Just let me know what I can do.” She didn’t respond but nodded her head. Buck found a quiet place to sit, away from prying eyes, and opened the envelope.
Bucky-
I bet you are surprised that I wrote you a letter but as you’ve come to know I do everything for a reason. I researched what HYDRA did to you and who you were before the man who trained me and so many other girls. I hope you don’t mind but I’m sorry that they put you through that. We had more in common than we thought. So I’m not sure how you remember me but I remember everything; every mission we went on, every minute we trained together, and every time they forced me to watch you get strapped to that chair.
On our last mission, we wrote a list together of things we wanted to do once we were free. Do you remember what we wrote? I found the list not too long ago. So now that you are free, finish this list for me.
Watch a sunset on a beach
Eat ice cream
Go dancing
See the Grand Canyon
Ride a rollercoaster
Go to the movies
Go on a date
Swim in a pool
Dance in the rain
Smile more
Be Happy
Enjoy the freedom, Bucky. You’ve earned it.
Bucky remembered that mission and the list you created. It was a stake and they had time as they sat and waited for the target. He was going to finish this list for you as you were a bright light during his time, it only seemed right.
*
Finally, Natasha sat down with a sigh. Her body ached down to her bones. She knew it was from everything that had happened. “Is this seat taken?” Clint asked, pointing to the empty spot next to her. Natasha shook her head. The archer sat down next to her, releasing a sigh of his own. “Where are you and Yelena headed to after this?” It took Natasha a second to reply.
“St. Petersburg,” she whispered. “We are going to visit Melina and Alexei,” She called them. It was a short call, a moment of peace amongst the chaos to tell them what happened.
“After that, you are welcome at the farm,” Clint said. “You aren’t alone in this.” It was the sentiment that everyone was giving her. You aren’t alone. I’m here for you. And Natasha was thankful for it but she didn’t want kind words, she just wanted her sister back.
“We may take you up on that,” she had to go find Yelena. “For you,” she handed him the letter. Clint hesitated but took it from her. “Safe travels back home. I’ll call you when we get to Melina’s.”
*
Clint grabbed Natasha’s hand and pulled her into a hug. The Black Widow tensed up not expecting the hug but soon relaxed in his arms. He felt her tears on his shirt. He understood. It could have been either of them, taking that leap to bring everyone back. But they were alive and they had to deal with you being gone.
He waited to read his letter, keeping it in his pocket on the flight home and the drive up to the house he hadn’t seen in 5 years. It was still there for family dinner and movie night, putting his kids to bed, and laying next to his wife. When Laura fell asleep, he crept down to the kitchen and sat at the dining room table with a bottle of scotch and the letter open.
Clint -
You were sent to kill my sister. You were given a mission to eliminate one of the Red Room’s best agents. But you didn’t. You ignored a direct order and gave her a chance to walk away. In doing so, you gave them freedom and I can’t thank you enough for that.
In those 5 years, you dealt with the Blip in a way you understood. You grieved for a family that was taken away from you, not by your choice. I understand that feeling far too well. You are not a monster or a bad person, who isn’t deserving of this chance to be with your family. You are human. Humans have complicated and messy emotions. So hug your family tight and tell them you love them.
I was in Budapest when you, Natasha, and Yelena destroyed half the city to try to kill Dreykov. As they and you know now it didn’t work. But I don’t want to dwell on that. I want to focus on the good and that is the unbreakable relationship you forged with my sisters. You put yourself in danger to help them defect to a better life. That takes a special (or stupid) type of person to do that.
You, your wife, and your kids invited Yelena and Natasha into your family. I saw how much it hurt Nat that she couldn’t bring you home like she was failing you. But you are home now. Continue to look after them for me. I wish we had more time to get to know each other and that I got to meet Nathaniel. You're a good brother to them, Clint. So thank you.
“Clint?” He looked up through his blurry eyes and saw Laura. She was wearing a robe and a small smile on her face. Without saying anything, she walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him. The archer rested his head on her chest and cried.
“I love you,” he whispered. “I love you so much.”

Pepper got a hotel room for those who didn’t feel like traveling, the woman was a saint. Natasha opened the door to her and Yelena’s room with food from a nearby burger place. Yelena was sitting on the balcony, her feet on the metal railing. She hadn’t said anything to Natasha but her eyes were red and blotchy from her tears. “I got your favorite,” she said, placing the food on the small table. “Well, I tried to get your favorite.” Natasha pulled out two burgers and a large fry. She got Yelena a chocolate and peanut butter milkshake. But the blonde made no move to grab the food. “Please eat,” Natasha said. “For me.” She added. The words left her mouth so effortlessly that they caused her throat to close up. When the guilt got too much, those 2 simple words got her to eat. But Yelena didn’t. She stood up and walked back into the hotel room. “Yelena,” She called after her. “Talk to me please.” Yelena stopped.
“What is there to say?” She asked. Her Russian accent laced the words. It only happened when she was drunk or she was emotional.
“Anything. Just don’t shut me out.” Yelena slowly turned around to face her.
“How did she die?” She asked. Natasha felt her heart skip. Deep down she knew Yelena had every right to know the truth but Natasha wasn’t ready for that conversation.
“What?”
“How. Did. Our sister. Die?” She asked, taking steps to close the distance between them. “I’ve tried to get someone to tell me. I asked Steve, Rhodney, Clint, and even Rocket but no one would tell me. So tell me,” Natasha couldn’t. How could she look in her baby sister’s eye and tell her she was going to lose someone she cared about no matter who came home from Vormir.
“She died to bring everyone back,” Yelena scuffed, throwing her arms to the side. The answer wasn’t what she was looking for. Natasha went to her nightstand and pulled out Yelena’s letter. “Here, she wrote this. It's for you.” Yelena took it. She stared at it, an unclear expression on her face. Soon it morphed into anger.
“I don’t want this,” she threw the letter to the ground. “I want her back.”
“I know-”
“You don’t know!” Yelena yelled. “You don’t know anything. I wanted more time with her. You got 5 extra years with her. That’s not fair!” Natasha let Yelena yell at her. She let her words bounce off of her. At least she was talking even though her words were laced with venom. “We should have gone back for her.” The sudden conversation switch gave Natasha whiplash.
“What are you talking about?” Natasha asked.
“We should have known that the Red Room was still active and that she was trapped. She would have come looking for us if she could have. But you didn’t care about her,” Yelena pointed at Natasha. “You didn’t want to face her and share what we found. You were being selfish. Why didn’t we go back for her?” Natasha was shocked into silence, barely recognizing the girl that stood in front of her. Yelena whipped the tears off her face and turned to leave the room. She opened the door, almost running into Maria as she stormed past. Natasha sat on the food of her bed, hands covering her face. She knew better than to now follow Yelena. The blonde needed to cool down. But the words thrown at her didn’t help the guilt already eating at Natasha.
“I heard yelling and I wanted to see if everything was okay,” Maria said, walking into their room. Natasha didn’t look up. “I can see that it isn’t,” she laughed bitterly, uncovering her face. “Do you need a hug, to talk, or a drink?”
“A drink. I need a drink.”
*
When Natasha stumbled into her hotel room after a few too many drinks with Maria, she was greeted with darkness. But she did see Yelena’s sleeping form in bed and the letter was picked up. The Black Widow slipped underneath the covers and sleep welcomed her.
*
It was a strange Deja Vu moment as Natasha walked up to the farmhouse with Yelena next to her. The last time she was here, her family was whole, broken but whole as they tried to come up with a plan to take down the Red Room. Every time you asked her to visit Melina, Natasha gave an excuse. Maybe she should have joined you. The door opened and Melina and Alexei walked out. Natasha heard Yelena let out a shaky breath and quickened her steps to reach the older Russian. Melina opened her arms to engulf the blonde. Natasha slowed down to give the two some space. Being here will be good, she thought. Yelena ended the hug and walked over to Alexei. The Russian super soldier was unsure of himself but Yelena hugged him and he hugged her back. It was a quick hug but Natasha saw Yelena nod at something Alexei said and walk into the house. Natasha continued walking and only stopped when Melina stood in front of her. “Natasha.”
“Hi mama,” she wasn’t expecting the older Black Widow to give her a quick hug.
“You look tired,” Melina said, taking a step back to look at her.
“I’m hungover.”
“Ah,” she smiled. “That would do it. Come, I’ve made food and I can get you something for that hangover.” They walked back to the house in silence. Natasha had three more letters; one for Melina, one for Alexei, and then her’s. She had no idea how you wrote all of these in a short amount of time. Alexei greeted her with a smile.
“Natalie,” he said. “I’m sorry about Y/n.” She wondered how long it was going to be until hearing your name stopped hurting.
“She would be glad it worked and you came back to annoy us with stories of your glory days.” Natasha teased. Alexei laughed and followed her into the house. “Where is Yelena?”
“She asked me where Y/n’s room was,” he said. “I wasn’t if it changed.”
“It didn’t,” Melina assured him but Natasha wasn’t listening. She walked over to the dining room table and it was covered with photos of you and Natasha assumed were other Widows. She recognized one and picked up the photo of you and Soyna with baby pigs, warm smiles on both of your faces. “Some of the Widows want to have a small service for her,” Melina said, standing next to her. “They asked me to get a few things out. I can put it away.”
“No,” Natasha said, putting the picture down. “You can keep it out.” She forgot that part of your life as it seemed like a lifetime ago. While she and Yelena were on the run from the government, you were cleaning up the mess the Red Room made. A mess that shouldn’t have happened if Natasha just went back for you. Maybe Yelena was right. “How is that going?” She asked, following Melina into the kitchen. Melina directed her to sit at a small table. She did and watched the odd Russian couple interact with one another. Alexei may have been gone for 5 years but they moved smoothly in the kitchen. He poured bowls of soup from a pot while Melina made a drink. He set one bowl down in front of Natasha and went to take the other to Yelena.
“We made progress during those 5 years a lot of the Widows were Blipped,” Melina put a glass on the table and sat down with a sigh. “Which is still an awful name.” Natasha smiled, taking a spoonful of the soup. It was good. It provided her with the warmth that she was missing. The drink on the other hand made her gag.
“Did you put vodka in this?” She asked.
“What do you Americans say, ‘hair of the dog?” Natasha rolled her eyes. “But with everyone being back, there is still work that needs to be done.”
“We or I can help,” it was the least she could do and she wasn’t sure what Yelena wanted.
“Soyna is handling it for now,” Melina put her hand over Natasha. “How are you doing?” Natasha wasn’t sure. She wanted to wake up and for this to be a horrible dream.
“I don’t know,” she said honestly.
“Well, you can stay here as long as you need to figure it out,” Melina said. “They may be some extra clothes that she left here but we can go into the city to get you stuff.” Nothing survived the compound being attacked.
“Thank you,” Alexei came back without the bowl in his hand.
“Yelena asked me to tell you she wants to see you. The room is down the hall and to the right,” Natasha went without another word. She found her sister, sitting on the floor with her back against the bed. Without saying a word, Natasha sat down next to her. In her hands was a photo strip that was ripped on one edge.
“I miss her,” Yelena whispered, putting her head on Natasha’s shoulder.
“Yeah, so do I.”
*
Melina told Natasha that Alexei liked to go fishing when she asked where the super soldier was. There was a creek that flowed on the edge of the property. So Natasha went to find him. It wasn’t hard but the Black Widow was surprised by how peaceful it was and how quiet Alexei was. “Come join me, Natalia,” he said, not taking his eyes off the water. Natasha sat on a rock next to him. “When your sister was here and not freeing Widows, I tried to get her to come fishing with me,” he chuckled. “She wasn’t happy with the early wake-up calls but I told her it was good for her. I probably told her a cool Red Guardian story.”
“Super cool,” Natasha teased. The man smiled.
“I think I was trying to make it up to her,” he said. “I wasn’t the father you girls deserved.” Natasha looked away from him and stared out at the water.
“I remember that day so clearly,” she finally said. “For a second, I thought you’d listen to her. You were going to take Yelena and me back to Ohio,” she looked back at him. “But you didn’t.”
“I didn’t,” he softly said. He brought the line back in and cast it out.
“Do you regret it?” He didn’t respond right away, focused on letting more lines out.
“I don’t know,” Natasha knew it was a complicated question. “I mean I wish you girls didn’t have to go through that but would you and Yelena have become Avengers if I disobeyed an order?” He asked. She wasn’t sure. One of the many possibilities on how her fate could have been different. Natasha took out his letter and handed it to him.
“She wrote you something,” she stood up, whipping the dirt off her pants. “Maybe I’ll join you out here tomorrow.” Alexei nodded, looking down at the letter in his hands. Natasha smiled, leaving the super soldier alone.

Dad-
I remember that day in Cuba so vividly. I had that gun pointed at you and I was ready to fight you and every guard there, even when I knew I didn’t stand a chance. So I pleaded with you to take Yelena and Natasha back home and take me instead. But you didn’t. It made me question if you ever truly cared about us. The first few days I was so angry with you. I hated you. For 3 years you were my dad and I was your daughter. Was it just a mission to you? Did you ever care?
I think it was both. You were following orders but there were moments when I think you cared about us. Remember when a girl in my class said no when I asked her to go to a dance? You asked me if you wanted to go threaten her. Or when some neighborhood kids were picking on Yelena you taught her to stand up for herself. She gave the kid a black eye and as Melina punished her you gave her a candy bar. Natasha wanted to play on the baseball team instead of softball and you stayed up with her to teach her how to catch a baseball and throw one. The mission didn’t require you to do those things. You wanted to be somebody to someone; someone important. You choose Dreykov when to us you were already the most important person. Mission or not, you are our father.
If you are writing this then our plan worked and I didn’t come home but that’s okay. I got to experience the father you could be for 2 years now it's Natasha and Yelena’s turn. Take them to your fishing spot, teach them how to help Melina with the pigs, tell them stories about the birds that visit the farm, and most importantly love them because I know you do.
Also, I fought with Captain America so suck on that!
Alexei laughed, shaking his head. Of course, you would end a goodbye letter in a way to make him laugh. He folded the letter and tapped it against his hand. Cuba will always haunt him. He could see the fear in your eyes and your tears as you pleaded with him to disobey Dreykov. Alexei sighed and looked toward the way Natasha walked. He was going to make it right and be the father they needed.
*
After dinner, Natasha found Melina in her workshop creating more of the Red Dust. “I have something for you,” Natasha said. Melina put the test tubes down and looked at her. The letter was already in Natasha’s hand.
“Alexei told me about his letter,” she handed Melina the letter. “Have you read yours?” The redhead shook her head.
“If I read it then it cements that she's not coming back,” she said. “That she’s gone.” Melina put the letter down on her workbench.
“Come sit,” Natasha sighed, sitting down next to Melina. “There is a Hebrew poem about death and in that poem, there is a line, ‘As long as we live, they will live, for they are now part of us, as we remember them.’ She may have died but she isn’t gone. She’s here,” she pointed to Natasha’s head. “And here.” She pointed to her heart.
“It’s the same,” Melina nodded, whipping away a few tears. Natasha didn’t realize she was crying.
“No, it’s not but it’s our new normal.”
*
Natasha stayed with Melina as she worked. Finally, the redhead retired to her room. Melina sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. She went through the Red Room 3 times before any of her children were born. They taught her how to control her emotions but she felt so out of control right now. When Natasha called her and told her of your passing and that she and Yelena were headed to St. Petersburg when they had a moment, all Melina could say was ‘okay’. But deep down her heart was aching. It felt unfair how little time you had. She picked up the letter, carefully opened the envelope, and unfolded the paper.
Mama-
So many years ago you told us to not let them take our hearts. That simple saying kept me alive, it gave me the strength to continue and made me a better person. It made me realize that you kept yours. I remember the look in your eyes when you said, ‘I’m sorry’ to us when Alexei told us we were leaving. You didn’t want to leave either. I wonder what our life would be like if we got to stay in Ohio. Would I go to college? Would Natasha play sports in high school? Would we interrogate Yelena’s prom date and tell them to have her home by 10? These questions kept me up at night and they would hurt.
I’m grateful for the few extra years we had together; late nights in your lab working in silence, cooking dinner for the few Widows that were living with us and helping you take care of the pigs. I wish we had more of those memories but I cherish that.
Do me a favor. Step out of your lab and live. Smile. Be happy. Live your life and breakthrough that conditioning they put you through. It will be hard and painful and scary but it will be worth it. Allow yourself to smile and laugh at Alexei. Cry over stupid rom-com movies. Live for me, mama. I’ll miss you.
Melina dropped the letter down to her desk. She felt the tears form in her eyes. Her throat burned. She couldn’t remember the last time she cried. She covered her mouth and cried.
*
It was now or never. Natasha paced back and forth in her room with the letter resting on her bed. She couldn’t bring herself to read it. Frustrated, she put the letter on the nightstand, slammed the drawer shut, and climbed into bed.
*
Screaming woke Yelena up. She jumped out of bed and ran to the door. The scream was from Natasha’s room. She opened the door, almost ripping it off the hinges, and saw Natasha thrashing under the covers. Yelena ran to her side. “Natasha,” she said. “Natasha, wake up. It’s just a nightmare. You're safe.” Her sister woke up with a gasp, eyes frantically darting around the room. “Hey,” Yelena sat on her bed, grabbing onto her face. “You’re okay. I’m here. It’s okay.” She heard Alexei and Melina enter the room but she ignored them. The last time she saw Natasha this broken was after the battle against Thanos at the compound when she learned of your death. Natasha choked on a sob and pulled her into a hug.
“I’m sorry,” she said. It was hard to hear over her tears. “It should have been me,” Yelena pulled away, still keeping her hands on Natasha’s arms.
“What are you talking about?” She took a few breaths to calm herself down.
“We came up with a plan,” Melina sat at the edge of the bed and Alexei took a seat in the corner. “It involved all of us separating into groups and going back in time to get the infinity stones from different parts of the pass,” Yelena understood every other word Natasha just said. Bruce tried to explain it to her when she asked how they did it. “Clint, Y/n, and I went to Vormir,” she stopped, shaking her head. “I should have seen it but I didn’t, not like she did. When we got there, the guardian greeted us. He said -” her voice cracked. “He said that the 2 of us were going to get the stone but one of us was going to lose everything; in every listing exchange. A soul for a soul,” Natasha looked down at her lap. “She hit Clint with her Widow Bites and ran for the cliff. I tackled her but she flipped me over. She jumped but I jumped after her,” Yelena’s hands squeezed Natasha’s arms. “I grabbed her hand and attached myself to the cliff with a grappling hook.” Natasha looked up at her sister. “I pleaded with her to not do it but she kicked the wall and slipped out of hand.” The room was stunned into a heavy silence. Yelena looked at Alexei and Melina, their faces were neutral but their eyes portrayed their true feelings. They didn’t know either. “It should have been me,” she said again.
“No,” Yelena said. “No, don’t say that. How could you say that?” She asked, pushing Natasha on the shoulder.
“It’s true! You said you wanted more time with her. We just got her back and now she’s gone because I-” her voice cracked. “I didn’t save her again.”
“Natasha,” Melina said. “Your sister was as stubborn as you.” Yelena hated the usage of ‘was’. “There was no stopping her.” The redhead pushed the palm of her hands against her eyes.
“I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry,” Yelena wasn’t sure how to help her. She’s never seen her this distraught.
“Sometimes in our lives, we’ll have pain and sorrow,” Yelena whispered. “But if we are wise we know that there’s always tomorrow. So lean on me when you’re not strong and I’ll be your friend. I’ll help you carry on,” she remembered the phrase you used to say to them when life became too hard, nightmares, fights, and when they were being transported to the Red Room. It felt wrong on her lips but Yelena knew her sister needed it. Her shoulders relaxed at the familiar phrase. “I miss her, I do, and I love her. But I need you. I don’t want to choose between losing you or her. I just-” Yelena was struggling to find her words. “I need you. You're my sister, my best friend.” Natasha nodded, pulling Yelena into a hug.
“I’m here,” she said. Yelena felt Natasha’s heart beating.
“We are all here,” Alexei said. “Family, right?”
“A pretty dysfunctional one,” Natasha mumbled. Yelena laughed, ending the hug and looking at Melina and Alexei. This was the reason you gave up your life for these moments. Yelena was still so angry but these moments made it feel worth it.
*
Yelena waited until Natasha fell asleep and she snuck back into her room. With a sigh, she sat down on her bed and pulled out the letter from underneath her pillow. She ran her thumb over her name and finally opened it. When she opened the envelope, she was surprised to find a sticky note instead of a piece of paper. On the sticky note, a micro SD card was taped onto it, and ‘Throw on the ground’ was written on it. Her hands shook as she took off the card and threw it on the ground. As it landed, a blue hologram version of you appeared. Yelena’s heart skipped and her stomach dropped. You were wearing your tactical suit.
“Is this recording?” You asked, looking up.
“Yes, Miss. Y/n,” the AI answered. You laughed. God, Yelena missed it.
“Sorry FRIDAY,” you smiled. “This is my first hologram.” You looked at Yelena and the air left her lungs. My malen'koye solnyshko (little sun),” she never thought she would hear you say that name. You didn’t say anything but stared ahead. “You are the first letter I’ve written because there is so much I want to say but I don’t know where to start,” you let out a shaky breath. “I am so proud of you. Over the past few years, I looked up all the different missions you and Nat did with SHIELD and the Avengers and you did amazing things. You saved so many people and I am speechless about the woman you’ve become. You aren’t that scared little girl that came running to me when it thundered,” Yelena was still scared of them. “You are brave, wise, smart, and beautiful. You-” Your voice cracked. “Wanda said to me that you wished we had more time together and so do I but it's,” you sighed. Yelena could see the tears running down your cheeks and she knew her face mirrored you. “I want to say it’s okay but we both know it’s not. The world can be a cruel place full of darkness and loss and death and you begin to wonder if what we do is worth it. Because as soon as we remove one man from power another will take its place and the cycle will continue.” You sighed, running your hands through your hair.
“We’ve seen that darkness. You, Natasha, and I were subjected to it and forced to be a part of it. So yes, the world is dark but it’s also beautiful. I got to see a small glimpse of the life you and Natasha created. I watched the sun rise and fall on the compound and count the stars. There are so many stars in the sky I must have been too busy to look up.
“And no your back and I’m gone. My malen'koye solnyshko (little sun). You bring so much light into this beautiful world. Please don’t let my death darken it,” you smiled, wiping away your tears. “Also, be nice to Natasha this wasn’t her fault and I know she’s blaming herself. You guys are going to be just fine. Do you know why?”
“Why?” Yelena found herself asking.
“Because my sisters are the strongest in the world,” you mimicked Alexei’s accent which caused Yelena to laugh. “You're my hero Yelena. Thank you for allowing me to be your sister. I love you.” The hologram disappeared. Her room was quiet besides the pounding of her heart.
“You are my hero, sestra,” Yelena whispered. “You are mine.
*
Natasha woke up and saw Yelena sleeping next to her. Her cheeks had tear stains. She slowly sat up but the movement caused Yelena to groan, her eyes fluttering open. “Go back to sleep,” she whispered. Yelena nodded, her eyes already closed. Natasha got out of bed and took the envelope out of the nightstand. On quiet feet, she ventured out of the house. She sat on the grass and opened the envelope. She pulled out a sticky note with a micro SD card and wrote on it, ‘Throw on the ground.’ Confused, Natasha threw the card on the grass and a blue hologram appeared. It was you. The day of the time heist. “You son of a bitch,” Natasha gasped.
“Natasha,” you smiled. “I’m sorry that this has happened. I think the universe likes to keep you and me and Yelena apart. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t together or a family.” You sighed, rubbing the back of your head. “I’m not sure what words to say to make this better. Maybe I’m not supposed to make it better, it’s going to be your new normal,” you threw your hands to the side. “I don’t know what to say to you, Nat. I want to give you some sisterly advice or thank you for those 5 years we had together or how much you mean to me as a sister but I think you know that, right?” Your voice was so soft and quiet. “I know you know. I’d do anything for you and Yelena even if a certain redhead reminded me that we weren't,” you teased. Natasha rolled her eyes. “I guess I’ll give you this. No more guilt, okay? And I know I saw that like it was the easiest thing in the world and I know it isn’t. But everything that has happened to me and every girl that was part of the Red Room was not your fault. One person can not save the world, that’s too much pressure.
“I won’t keep this long because I don’t want this to be a goodbye letter. So get out from behind your desk. Find love. Get married. Buy a house with a white picnic fence and a big yard for your dog and kids. Live. Because life,” your hologram looked over your shoulder. Natasha remembered you had a window in your room, you must have looked at it but your hologram turned to look at the Russian sunset. “Is beautiful.” Natasha felt tears run down her cheeks. “Don’t cry for me. I’ll be with you always.”
Natasha looked over her shoulder to see Yelena walking over to her with a blanket over her shoulders. She smiled at the hologram version of you as it disappeared. She sat down next to Natasha, putting the blanket over her shoulders. The sun was slowly rising into the sky, indicating a new day. For the first time in a long time, Natasha took a deep breath in and slowly let it out and her guilt wasn’t as crushing. It would take time for the hurt to ease but she felt free.
*
You watched your sister look towards the Russian sunrise. With a smile, you walked over to Natasha and sat down next to her. You loved the color of the sky in the morning. ‘Come on, kid,’ you turned around to see Tony. ‘We can’t stay.’ You looked back at your sisters.
‘I think I’ll stay,’ you said. ‘I’d like to see where life takes them.’
Fin.

Yandere!Melina Vostokoff x Fem!Reader Headcanons
Tumblr media
(For @mommymilks - Happy Birthday, boo!)
SFW
No surprise here, but Melina would absolutely use her tech to keep tabs on you at all times. She'd always know where you are, who you're with, and everything about anyone you know.
She'd love to call you little pet names - my love, my darling, my pet, etc. But she would always preface it with, "my."
If someone gets too close or threatens to keep you from her, Melina wouldn't be above using the mind control substance to keep them in line. If they continue, she has a lot of tools at her disposal to get rid of them.
She's also not above using it on you, if need be. She'd struggle with it for a while, but she'd rationalize her decision by reminding herself that she's doing it to keep you safe. To keep you hers.
NSFW
Melina would show her obsession with you through body worship. She'd touch and kiss every part of you, reminding you of how beautiful you are.
She'd be into edging you a lot. She'd want to prolong the experience as long as possible; the two of you alone together, you calling out her name. Absolute bliss.
Melina would also enjoy orgasm denial. Not only would it tie into edging, it'd give her a reason to praise you - calling you her good girl when she finally lets you finish. "Come for me, my darling."
She can be a mild exhibitionist - depending on where you are/where you're going. She'd love to use a remote controlled vibrator on you in public on occasion. Just knowing that she can get you off while others are around, wishing they could even touch you, would bring her great pleasure. Plus, you'd look so cute trying to hide what's happening.

My #1 post of 2022
Imagine...
Reuniting with your childhood sweetheart, Willy Wonka, during the factory tour.
Tumblr media
(For @groovy-lady)
"Y/N, you simply won't believe the news!" Your friend, Mrs, Bucket, chirped excitedly as the two of you met up to run errands together. The two of you had worked together previously, and she became a good friend to you despite the infrequency of your contact.
"What is it, Hellen?"
"Charlie's found it - the last golden ticket! Isn't it exciting?" She was more animated than you'd seen her in a long time, and she continued quickly. "I was thinking - and forgive me if this is too bold, but, I was thinking... perhaps you could take him for the tour?" And then you saw it - the mischievous glint in her eye.
Hellen knew a secret that you'd told few others - you'd known Willy Wonka when the two of you were children, and had been an item for much of your youth.
"I understand if you can't, or don't want to. I just thought... Oh, I don't know. Maybe it's silly." You told her you would think about it, and she didn't mention it again as you went onto your errands.
After that, it seemed as if you somehow saw more of his name everywhere you went; advertisement and news articles. Of course it was the fervor around the contest, but nonetheless you couldn't escape the ghost of your past. It was a pleasant ghost, at least.
There was a form to send in before the tour, giving the names of the chaperones. You'd kept it visible, and quickly penned your name down before the deadline.
It all happened so fast - Hellen asked, you agreed, and in the blink of an eye you were standing at the gates with Charlie by your side. And then the moments dragged until Wonka himself finally emerged. He looked very different, of course, but yet somehow still the same. The other guardians were quick to rush up to introduce themselves and their children, but he hurried through them until he got to you.
"And Y/N. I was looking forward to seeing you most of all. You do remember me, don't you?"
The candy maker lit up when you told him that you did remember him, grinning wide and looking much like the boy you'd known long ago.
"I named one of my chocolates after you, you know. And I'll tell you a secret - it's my most favorite creation." He paused only a moment before continuing, "come, I've got such marvelous things to show you."
He held out his arm for you to take, paying no mind to the other chaperones as he lead the group inside.
