Oh, Goddamn, Not Another Rockstar - Lonnie Machin Imagine (Arrow)
Tumblr media
Title: Oh, Goddamn, Not Another Rockstar
Pairing: Lonnie Machin X Reader
Word Count: 1,102 words
Warning(s): mention of illegal activity (barely)
Summary: (Inspired by "Not Another Rockstar" by Maisie Peters) (Y/n) didn't have a reputation for picking the best guys. Lonnie may have just been the latest addition to a long line of bad decisions.
Author's Note: Hey... I'm back on my bullshit. Everyone say thank you to Maisie Peters because she is the only reason a Lonnie Machin imagine was written.
---------------------------
Lonnie seemed so nice when I met him the first time.
That was the best word I had for him.
We met at some club in the city.
He started off attempting to simply flirt. He dropped that in a matter of minutes. He was just this nice and funny guy. He didn't seem to only want into my pants. He wanted to listen to me talk.
He was different than plenty of the guys that had been there that night.
After that night, everything felt like a whirlwind.
Lonnie was energetic. Yeah, energetic was the right word for it.
I learned very quickly that all I could do was try to keep up with him.
It had been a few weeks since we met.
He had a tight hold on my hand as we walked down the street. He didn't tell me where we were going because he insisted that it needed to be a surprise.
I only stopped when Lonnie climbed through a hole in a fence. I stared over at the big building. It was dark, the walls looked ready to crumble, most of the windows were broken.
"Come on," Lonnie insisted.
"Lonnie, this building looks like it's about to fall apart," I said. "Are we supposed to be here?"
"No," he shrugged before placing his hands on the fence and leaning forward a bit. "I thought it would be fun. Come on... take a risk."
I studied his face a moment. He had a smirk pulling at his lips and an eyebrow raised at me. With a sigh, I mimicked what he had done earlier, awkwardly climbing through the hole in the fence.
He met me with a kiss when I made it through before he pulled me into the building.
We spent most of our time looking around the building. It was empty, but it was a decently sized building. It had clearly been some kind of business.
I don't know what Lonnie's original plan was. I just know that we somehow ended up with my back against the wall as he kissed me.
Since it was so early in our relationship, we hadn't done a whole lot. This was the first time that we had had a proper make-out session. Describing it made me feel like a dumb teenager, but I didn't have a better way to explain it.
My hands were buried in his hair. His hands were pressed against the wall next to me. It was effectively locking me in place, not that I was trying to move.
I was just allowing myself to get stuck in the moment when I heard a car pulling up to the building. I pulled away to look over, only just catching sight of the words on the side before Lonnie guided my lips back to his. It was a cop.
"Lonnie," I muttered, pulling away. "We- We gotta go."
"Mmm, no," he grumbled, chuckling as he leaned down to kiss and bite at the skin on my neck.
The cop car's headlights started beaming through the front window.
"L-Lonnie," I hit his shoulder, now panicking.
He pulled away from me with a quiet crumble, looking out the window. A chuckle escaped him before he grabbed my hand and dragged me to one of the broken windows and helped me out.
He let out this loud laugh as we ran away from the building.
Truly, that night should've been a bit of a red flag. The refusal to leave, the smirk at the idea of being caught, the fact that we were in the abandoned building, to begin with. It all should've made me question things more.
But then, I'd think about the kiss. The kiss and the soft words and him walking me home that night. He met with all chaos with this mix of sweetness that almost gave me whiplash.
Maybe that's why I didn't pay attention to the warnings enough.
I wouldn't properly acknowledge the warnings until they were staring me in the face months later.
I had gone over to Lonnie's for the night.
He had gone to the bathroom while I was sitting on his bed.
It was silent until his phone went off. I furrowed my eyebrows. It was sitting up on the mattress. I don't know why.
I glanced over to see what was there.
Pinzolo's got a job. Call immediately.
It was from an unknown number.
"What the hell," I mumbled, picking up the phone.
There were plenty of messages from that number.
All about jobs. What did those jobs include? No idea. Those details weren't shared.
"What are you doing?"
I jumped, looking up to see Lonnie standing at the end of the bed.
"(Y/n)..."
"Who's Pinzolo," I asked.
He tensed.
"Lonnie," I said. "What is it?"
I wanted to assume the best. But it was difficult.
Lonnie didn't try to hide it for long. It was like he expected me to completely accept the fact that he worked for a crime family. A criminal empire. That may even be putting it lightly.
"You... You didn't mention this months ago," I asked after he was done. "This is a big deal, Lonnie."
"I didn't know how you'd react," he shrugged. "I wanted to see if you would stay."
I put his phone down and pushed myself out of the bed.
"(Y/n)-"
"This... This is a lot, Lonnie," I shook my head as I went to go put on my shoes and grab my things. "I don't think I can do this. This is just... I need to go."
"Hey, hey, hey," Lonnie grabbed my wrists, trying to hold me in place.
I pulled at his hold on me, which only led to him tightening his grip. He grumbled at me, yanking me forward, effectively causing me to freeze in front of him.
He let out a heavy sigh as he leaned his forehead on me, voice softening as he spoke, "Come on, it's me. You know I love you... and that you love me. Don't go. Stay with me."
I didn't respond. I just closed my eyes.
"(Y/n)..."
He dragged out my name a bit, almost taking on a sing-song voice as he did. His head moved. His lips found my neck. I took a deep breath.
"Stay for the night," he said. "One night. We can talk about this in the morning."
My lips turned up in a small smile as I moved to the side.
I don't know if my next choice was my best or worst decision. I don't know if I cared.
I said yes.

The Jealous Type
Requested by: Anonymous
Pairing: Lonnie Machin x fem!reader
Genre: Angst, Fluff
Characters: Lonnie, Y/N
Description: Y/N never thought that Lonnie was the jealous type but when her ex rolls into town, Lonnie lets his feelings be known.
Tumblr media
You had never known Lonnie to be the jealous type, in fact, you had never known him to be anything but sweet when it came to you. But when he seen you with another guy and his hands all over you and you batting them away, something inside him changed and he rushed towards you both without thinking.
He pushed himself between the two of you, his hands tight around yours. “Who do you think you are, touching her like that?!” The other guy laughed and leaned back against the wall. “I am Ben, her ex. Who in the hell are you?” Seeing the guy laugh about it made Lonnie’s blood boil.
You felt Lonnie’s hand tense against yours and you knew that something was about to happen. You squeezed his hand in an attempt to calm him down, but to no avail. He let go of your hand and stepped towards Ben. “I am her boyfriend so I suggest that you go before I do something that you’ll regret.”
Ben threw his head back with laughter. “Her boyfriend? No, I don’t think so. She belongs to me and she always has. The things that I have done to her, well...” He looked around Lonnie and winked at you. “I’m sure Y/N will tell you.”
With a mixture of jealousy and anger Lonnie swung his fist forward and hit Ben square in the nose, sending him flying back and onto the floor. “Never talk about her like that. She is her own person and doesn’t belong to anyone. Now if you know what’s good for you, you’ll get the hell out of town and drive far away from here. If I get even a sniff of you around here again, you’ll get more than a bloody nose.”
Lonnie grabbed your hand and guided you out of the building and towards the car. When you were both inside, his facade completely changed. He was your sweet Lonnie again. “Baby, are you alright? He didn’t hurt you, did he?” He cupped your face with his hands, his eyes scanning for any sign of injury.
You grabbed his hands with yours and squeezed. “He didn’t, don’t worry. I’m just glad you were there, Lon. I don’t know what would have happened if you weren’t. He’s never been able to get over us breaking up.” You looked into his eyes and slowly leaned in, placing a sweet kiss to his lips. “Thank you for saving me, my prince.”
He gave a sad smile and shook his head. “You don’t need to thank me. I just wish you hadn’t seen me like that. I never wanted you to. I hate that side of me.” “Every part of you is special to me, Lonnie, the good and the bad. You never need to hide any part of you from me, alright? I love you just the way you are.”
Lonnie’s smile grew, tucking your hair behind your ears. “How did I get so lucky with you?” You blushed and he pressed a kiss to your cheek before starting the engine and driving home, your hands both intwined.

Tim sat before the plate of tapas before him and sipped at the white wine that came with the bottle of the house as he looked out at the boats. Arguineguin was a beautiful port town and he'd happily come here off mission.
But he was here for a mission. Lonnie was with him after the wannabe world rumbler had realised he'd pissed off the wrong people. And every couple that walked passed them just felt like another stab to the heart to the heart he'd left in Gotham. Tim's heart had never lost Bernard. Even now, with Bernard dead and gone, and Lonnie here and now and a target, he'd always remember his first real love. Little did Tim realise that his dinner guest was his lover's target. Or that Bernard would try his best to avoid being seen and disappointing Tim further.

My fanfiction needs more female main characters who are on the protagonists' side. I've already filled up all the slots I had open for adding new characters. Several of my central characters are canonically male and really can't be switched out for someone else. My fanfic also really needs a few transfem characters
Therefore it is time to hit some motherfuckers with THE TRANSING RAYBEAM
(also if you felt like giving me an explanation of how you think transitioning could play into their characterization/history I would be incredibly grateful and would love to read that!)
((Also also have the other main characters and their roles in case that swings a vote somehow: Tim Drake/Jason Todd as Main Pairing and wielders of God-like powers reshaping the world in their image, Talia Al-Ghul & Poison Ivy as Ecological Sciences advisors, Harley Quinn as Psychotherapist and Counseling, [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS] as Main Antagonist, Barbara Gorden & Dinah Lance & Cassandra Cain as Narrative Foils and Secondary Antagonists))

Arrow Out of Context: Sentence Prompts Part Four
Some of my favorite season 4 quotes — as prompts! ;)
Send me a number!
1. “Well, it looks like it’s just the three of us. Team Arrow. The original gangstas.”
2. “Fifteen minutes til the end of the world, and you want to spend them with me. I am touched.”
3. “I’m sorry...did I leave you with the impression that I was a rational guy?”
4. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. Just get the son of a bitch.”
5. “That has always been the way with us, Felicity. You are the one who brings the light.”
6. “She’s always been there. She’s my rock. She was my rock.”
7. “You two give the rest of us hope.”
8. “Hey, I’m a Vegas girl. Whoever you owe money to is going to have to get up pretty early in the morning to take me on.”
9. “In deference of good taste, we will forego the removal of shirts.”
10. “It was just going to be you against the world and that was going to be your armor.”
11. “I love how playing superhero is what we consider normal.”
12. “First you catch me, then you break me out, then you want to catch me again. Make up your mind!”
13. “Just so you know, if you had asked me, I would have said yes.”
14. “Honestly, Oliver, it’s even easier to break in here than it was at your last lair.”
15. “What do you want?” “Well, something I can’t have, apparently.”
16. “Felicity Smoak is one of the smartest, most badass women on the planet.”
17. “You know if I knew you were surrounded by so many pretty girls, Oliver, I would have stopped by sooner.”
18. “Okay I know that was kind of a bust, but wasn’t it fun having the original Team Arrow back together?”
19. “Let’s get one thing straight. The only person who gets to talk in sentence fragments around here is me.”
20. “Felicity, wanna play a game?” “What game are we playing?”
21. “This isn’t about Ray. It’s about us.”
22. “You faced down mirakuru soldiers and the League of Assassins. Are you honestly telling me that you couldn’t say no to my mom?”

Crumbling City - Oliver Queen Imagine (Arrow)
Tumblr media
Title: Crumbling City
Pairing: Oliver Queen X Platonic!Reader
Requested: nope
Word Count: 1,370 words
Warning(s): violence, abduction
Summary: (Y/n) ends up part of some twisted plan someone has to get revenge on Oliver Queen.
Author's Note: I have a serious question for all DC and Alexander Calvert fans. Who the actual fuck is Thomas the Cat King? I've been looking for info about this character and can't find anything.
------------------------------
I had been having a normal day.
Well, my definition of normal.
It had taken a definite shift since the Undertaking. It would if your dad put his name to the event.
Malcolm Merlyn. The man who loved his plan to destroy an entire part of a city more than he loved his children.
Not only did I lose my brother, but I was also met with blame and anger from the citizens of the city. My dad had taken off running, so I was the only one left in the Merlyn family tree for them to blame.
It became part of day-to-day life.
I dealt with the glares and the comment, even the outright screaming at points. I just rolled my shoulders back and dealt with it. I had to. It's not like anyone else had stuck around.
I had just finished my grocery shopping. As I was walking to my home, I heard someone scream some unintelligible bullshit. I just rolled my eyes and continued walking. The sooner I got inside, the sooner I could escape all of this shit.
I walked inside and set my things on the counter with a sigh.
I was about to start putting away the groceries away when someone grabbed me from behind. I tried to yell but a hand was slapped over my mouth before I could.
I was trying to fight back, but I was stopped when something stuck my neck. My body slowly went limp, and my eyes fell shut. I was completely out.
When I finally came to, I found myself tied to some kind of pillar. I would've been more concerned about where I was, but when I looked up, I saw Oliver tied with his arms above his head and his feet tied together. The rope was tied to something on the ceiling, but I really couldn't see what.
Oliver shook his head as he woke up. His eyes widened in shock when he saw me. We hadn't seen each other in years. This wasn't quite the reunion we had both hoped for.
I was about to yell when I felt the barrel of a gun brush my head.
"Don't. talk," a man's voice said bluntly. "Got it?"
I nodded, closing my eyes.
"Leave them alone," Oliver snapped. My eyes opened again when I felt the gun move away from my head.
"Oh, hi Oliver," the man greeted. "Damn, it has been far too long."
Oliver didn't entertain the man with a response.
"Wow, ignoring me," the man sighed. "That hurts, Oli. I thought we were closer than that."
"I don't know who you are," Oliver replied.
"Well, we both know that's not true," the man scoffed. "You let me out of police custody so you could get to Darhk. Isn't that right... Arrow?"
Oliver's jaw clenched. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Oh, Arrow... he tried to kill your dad, didn't he," the man turned around to talk to me.
He had burn scars along the side of his face. I had to fight the urge to jump at the sight.
I looked down at the floor.
"You can talk when I ask you a question."
"My dad is an evil man."
"Yeah, yeah, but I mean... he tried to kill him, right?"
I didn't answer.
"Answer my fucking question."
"Yes."
"Thought so," he turned back to Oliver. "Now... have you solved the puzzle?"
Oliver furrowed his eyebrows.
"Oh, come on," the man groaned. "Have you solved the puzzle?"
"What puzzle," Oliver asked.
The man let out a laugh.
"You think I found out who you are without some help," the man asked. "Why don't you think about it? Here... let me add some pressure."
I yelled as the gun was suddenly pointed at me. I tried to move back as if I wasn't already tied to a pillar. I closed my eyes, trying to make my body as small as possible.
"No!"
"Tick, tock, Oliver," I saw the man's feet step closer. "Come on, Arrow. Figure it out!"
"I don't know," Oliver shouted. "Please! Don't hurt them! Please!"
"Oh, no... too late, Oliver."
"No!"
The gun didn't fire. It just clicked. Completely unloaded. I looked up from where I had curled in on myself. The man offered me a smile. I smiled back.
"That was beautiful acting, sweetheart."
"Thanks, Lonnie," I said. "I have to say... you did a perfect job. Very convincing abduction. That fake neck jab... brilliantly done."
He thanked me and circled the pillar to cut me loose. He pulled me up from the floor and pressed his lips to mine. I happily kissed him back.
I pulled back and looked at Oliver. I chuckled at the confused expression on his face.
"Should've figured out the puzzle, Oli," I shrugged. "Or should I call you Green Arrow? Don't know what you prefer. I'm surprised you don't put both on a business card, it's pretty obvious."
"You're working with him," Oliver asked.
"Mmhmm," I nodded excitedly and almost skipped back over to Lonnie.
"Why?"
"Love," I shrugged. "Makes you do crazy things."
Lonnie reached behind him and pulled out another gun, "This is yours."
"Thank you."
I pointed the gun at Oliver and stepped forward again.
"Oh, and this one's loaded."
"I don't get it."
"Well... you put the ammo in the gun-"
"I meant working with Lonnie."
"Why would I pick the man that chose me over everything after I was everyone's second choice? Seems like an easy answer. He loves me when I was told that I was unlovable."
Lonnie stepped forward, pressing one kiss to my temple and another to my jaw.
"Would your brother ever have wanted this?"
"Don't bring Tommy into this... that's my dad's fault. And his sin to carry. I feel no guilt over a person I never wronged."
"He would want you safe-"
"He picked you over me. My dad picked your sister over me. Laurel picked you over me even though she claimed to have loved my brother. You were my brother's best friend... and abandoned me. He would be far more ashamed of you."
"What's the plan," Oliver asked. "Kill me?"
"Oh God, no," I chuckled. "Could never forgive myself. This all was just a distraction. Did you know Lonnie has a shit ton of hacking experience?"
"Nothing more chaotic than watching a city's progress go away," Lonnie added.
"What did you do?"
"Economic crisis, mostly."
"What?"
"You heard him," I replied. "Oh, and your team couldn't stop it. We made sure they were... busy."
Oliver tugged at the restraints.
"There are two choices," I explained. "Try and stop the inevitable chaos... or try to find your team and let the city descend into the very chaos and violence you swore to protect them from."
He let out a breath and just stared at me for a minute.
"Bye," I said in a cheery voice before waving, turning around, and grabbing Lonnie's hand. We went to walk out of the apartment.
"Where are you going," Oliver asked.
"None of your damn business," I flipped him the bird with my free hand as we left.
After doing some smart moves, we managed to get out through the back of the building. I got into the passenger seat as Lonnie circled around the front.
"Ready to go," he asked as he started the car.
I nodded, "How long we got?"
"About thirty minutes before it all goes to shit."
"Good," I replied, leaning my elbow on the center console. "Let's take a trip out of the city."
He smirked before pulling out onto the main road.
I took the time to admire the city around us. Just one last look at everything I was saying goodbye to. After the city had done so much work to vilify me because of my dad, I didn't hold a lot of guilt over what I was doing. Still, it was weird to say goodbye. I spent my life here. It was the only place I had known.
But as I looked over at Lonnie, I could feel a new wave of reassurance.
I was ready to make a new home somewhere else. As long as it was with him.
------------------------------
Author's Note: You would not believe how many times I read this to make sure I didn't drop Lonnie's name before I was supposed to. I don't think I've tried so hard to hide a plot twist.

Jack ran into the library in the bunker with a laptop in hand. The computer showed a recent article about victims murdered by a mysterious shadow. “Sam, Dean, Cas, I’ve found a case!” He placed the laptop at the table's end so all three could see.
Their eyes moved back and forth as they read the article, with slightly different expressions. Sam sat back with his arms across his chest, deep in thought, Dean shook his head and closed the laptop lid, and Cas gave Jack a small smile.
“Jack, I don’t think there’s a case here. It just seems like a run-of-the-mill murder for the cops to solve. Sorry, buddy.” Dean picked up the laptop and held it out to Jack. Jack’s face dropped a little, his confidence slowly fading. Sam then leaned back forward and placed his hands on the table. “I can see why you thought it was a case, but Dean’s right. There’s no case there.” He gave a small, sad smile. Jack then turned to Cas, who seemed to have a more positive expression. “It wouldn’t hurt to check it out, Jack. Why don’t you go by yourself and head this case alone?”
He beamed with pride at finally being on a case by himself. “That sounds fantastic; thank you, Castiel.” Cas nodded. “If you need any of us, just pray to me, and we’ll be there as quickly as possible.” Jack nodded and returned to his room before gathering various weapons. He walked back to the library and waved goodbye to Sam, Dean, and Castiel before disappearing to the location of the murders.
______________________
The murders were all committed in the same building, which made it easier for Jack to investigate who or what was killing innocent people. He slowly and quietly walked around the building with a backpack full of weapons, examining every room.
When he came to the last room in the building, Jack hesitated outside the door and gathered himself together. He knew that the thing that was killing these people was in there, and he wanted to be ready. Taking a deep breath, he put his hand on the doorknob and turned it.
The door revealed a darkened room with a reddish hue over the corner. Jack slowly walked over, keeping himself on guard, and began investigating the area.
A clanging sound came from a dark corner of the room, making Jack jump a little. His eyes gleamed yellow as he walked towards the noise. Tiptoeing over, he peeked into the corner, only to be met with a punch to the face. Jack went flying across the room, hitting his back on the wall. Groaning in pain, he slowly stood up and showed his wings.
Whatever it was, I walked out of the corner and squinted. “What in the hell are you?” Jack powered down and stared at the stranger in confusion. This....thing looked exactly like him. He remembered what Sam and Dean told him about Shapeshifters: silver can weaken and kill them.
Jack quickly pulled a silver knife out of his backpack and lunged towards the suspected shapeshifter, pushing it back onto the floor. The shapeshifter seemed surprised when it saw Jack's face, but Jack cut it with the knife anyway. Jack jumped up with confusion and agitation when its skin didn't burn.
“If you’re not a shapeshifter, what are you?” The thing stood up from the floor and walked towards Jack, who backed away. “What the hell is a shapeshifter? And why do you look exactly like me?” Without warning, Jack walked towards the stranger, grabbed them, and flew them back to the bunker.
_________________________
Jack and the stranger landed in the middle of the bunker, startling the three men still in the library. They stood up in shock when they realized that the two standing before them looked exactly the same. “Jack! Why in the hell have you brought a shapeshifter back to the bunker?!”
Keeping a tight hold of the stranger, Jack walked them forward. “It’s not a shapeshifter. I remembered what you told me about them and tested them with a knife, but nothing happened. That’s why I’ve brought it back here.”
“Well, if it’s not a shapeshifter, what could it be?” The three men stood in a circle and whispered between themselves, leaving Jack and the stranger alone. Jack looked at the stranger and narrowed his eyes while the stranger rolled his eyes.
He walked forward and cleared his throat, gaining everybody’s attention. All eyes were now on him, all four pairs of narrowed, scrutinizing eyes. The stranger folded his arms across his chest. “If you would have cared to ask me, my name is Lonnie Machin. I am a normal guy from a neighborhood, just doing what I must survive.”
Dean scoffed. “You call what you’ve done surviving?” “You haven’t lived the way I have. Some things have haunted me since I can remember.” Dean rolled his eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Get in line. Our lives are screwed up, but you don’t see us murdering innocent people.”
Lonnie stepped forward in a slightly threatening stance. “They weren’t innocent, not to me.” Dean lowly growled in response and nearly lunged forward at Lonnie if it wasn’t for Sam holding an arm before him.
Sam narrowed his eyes inquisitively. "So, if you're not a shapeshifter and you claim to be a normal guy, then why do you look the spitting image of Jack?" Lonnie shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. Long-lost twins, maybe?" He sniggered at his own joke just before Dean stepped forward and landed a punch to his face.
“Dean!” Castiel looked at Lonnie’s body on the floor to Dean cradling his hand. “What? That little twerp was annoying me!” Sam rolled his eyes at his brother. “Instead of bullying other people, why don’t we figure out who he is and why he looks so much like Jack? Cas, you go up to Heaven and see if they have any answers. Dean, Jack. Take him down to the dungeon and keep quizzing him; there’s got to be something he knows.”
“And what exactly will you be doing, eh?” Dean raised his eyebrow at his brother. “I will be going through all of the .lore in the Men of Letters books to see if anything like this has happened.”
Everybody agreed on the plan and headed in different directions to try and solve the puzzling mystery.......

Title: Downtime Summary: The twins have the house to themselves for a few hours Author’s Note: It took me a lot longer than I would have liked to sit down and write this. @lawful-evil-novelist
“So what time is he coming back?”
Alexander flicked open a pocket watch. Their father had given it to him years ago, and while he was too afraid to take it out of the house, when he was home he always kept it on him somewhere.
“In three hours, forty-five minutes.” Alexander dropped down onto the sofa, tugging down the sleeves of his sweatshirt decorated with Jack Skellington. Melissa frowned as she idly flicked through channels. There wasn’t anything interesting on.
Alexander took his shoes off before pulling his legs up, wrapping his arms around them loosely.
“Don’t even bother.” Melissa warned before he could even speak, digging her shoes into the sofa a little more. Alexander frowned slightly, but didn’t reply as he turned his gaze to the television. Melissa glanced at him before smiling slightly.
“So, how’s the bird chick doing?”
Alexander ignored the teasing hint in her tone.
“She seems to be fine. Her mother was arrested, but apparently that’s common.”
“Magpie’s an idiot. Her kid’s probably just as weird as she is.” Melissa remarked flatly. Alexander suddenly swayed, and shook his head to clear it.
“What the hell was that?” Melissa questioned.
“You said that last sentence twice.” Alexander replied, looking a bit sick, “I think it happened again.” Melissa scowled.
“Great.” She tossed the remote carelessly onto the coffee table and looked at her brother, “You going to vomit like last time?” Alex glanced away for a moment, checking, and then slowly shook his head.
“I don’t think so.” They sat in silence for a moment, watching the unappealing infomercial on the screen, before he spoke again, “Do you want to watch a movie?” Melissa looked at him, and her eyes narrowed mischievously.
“We can watch Corpse Bride.”
Immediately Alexander snapped around to her with a scowl.
“Don’t get me started on Corpse Bride!” He exclaimed, “He had less of a connection with Victoria than he did-“
“Alright. Shut it.” Melissa snapped, “I get the point.” There was one thing in the world that made Alexander Fugate raise his voice without feeling bad afterwards. Coincidently, it was Melissa’s favourite way to annoy him.
“What do you want to watch then?” Melissa asked, and Alexander looked at her with a hopeful grin, “No.”
“Please, Melissa?”
Melissa looked at him before rolling her eyes with a groan.
“Fine!”
Alexander jumped up from the sofa and hurried over, quickly slipping a disc into the DVD player. Melissa frowned as she propped her head on her hand, and Alexander came back to the sofa smiling like an idiot. He returned the TV remote to its proper place and then grabbed the second remote.
“Are you going to speak through it again?” Alexander asked, and Melissa shrugged.
“Most of it will be cussing out Anarky.”
Alexander stopped, and he frowned, glancing away.
“He isn’t going to go after you again, is he?” He asked quietly. Melissa shifted, crossing her arms against her chest. Her chewed nails scratched her skin uncomfortably.
“He was after Max and Niall.”
“You did punch him.” Alexander reminded her, and Melissa frowned.
“He ran off as soon as I did. The guy needs to grow a pair.” She fixed her gaze on the menu on-screen, “Should’ve known he wouldn’t be anything like his message.” Alexander stopped looking at the floor, and he smiled.
“Does this mean you’ll be nicer the next time we see them?”
“Yeah right. Play the movie.” Melissa leant over and tapped the button on the remote. Alexander leant forward and placed it on the coffee table before getting comfortable again.
“Fine…” He trailed off, and not two minutes later he was smiling again, “Boys and girls of every age…”
Melissa rolled her eyes again, but when Alexander looked at her, she was quiet for only a few seconds before begrudgingly singing along with him.

Hey! I'm following you for ML stuff, but I finally figured out you were into Batman as well, took me awhile. Do you have any advice on where to start for people who want to get into it? I just want to know which Robin is which when I read fanfiction hahaha. Thank youu
So the first thing to know is that there is no single Batman comic that will explain the entire Batfamily, because there are so many of them that the Manor must be running out of bedrooms by now. The second thing is that I’m not great at figuring out a starting place—a lot of comics are sort of aggressively mediocre and I can’t exactly tell the standout ones from the bad. Anyone who has any suggestions for anon, feel free to comment with them!
(In terms of fanfic recs: read literally anything by @unpretty. They are a wizard. Their fanfic is so good it has literally won awards.)
Now, a brief introduction to every member of the Batfamily that I can currently remember—save Alfred and Batman, who I am assuming you already know.
The Robins
Dick Grayson (Robin I, Nightwing II, and Batman IV). Richard John Grayson was a former child acrobat, member of the flying Graysons, and the first child adopted by Bruce Wayne. He is a human disaster of a Hufflepuff who makes terrible life choices, leaves his Nightwing costume on the floor of his apartment where literally anyone can see it, and doesn’t know how to cook anything but cereal. Despite his terrible lack of self-sufficiency, actually gives amazing life advice and is the heart and soul of the Batclan. There are villains who are willing to kill to protect him.
Jason Todd (Robin II, The Red Hood II, Red Robin I, Batman III). Jason Todd is the ballsiest Robin, having met Batman while attempting to steal the tire from the Batmobile, and, upon being confronted by the Goddamn Batman, decided the best course of action was to attack him with a tire iron. Jason is passionate and impulsive, but also extremely studious and intelligent. Well-liked despite his abrasiveness. He is the first Robin to die in the line of duty; when he came back, he and Bruce had a falling out over not killing the Joker, and now their relationship is rather shaky. Jason uses guns and has moonlighted as a crime boss in order to better control Gotham’s criminal element from the inside, which works mostly because he has nerves of steel and the ability to spin stunningly convincing bullshit at the drop of a hat.
Carrie Kelley (Robin II.5): See “Elseworlds and Future.”
Tim Drake (Robin III, Red Robin II, Drake I, Batman Beyond II): Tim has the greatest intellect of the Batclan; however, unlike Barbara (see “Batgirls”), Tim’s wisdom score is through the bloody floor. He figured out Batman and Robin’s identities on his own, and after Jason died he walked up to Bruce and basically told him “I know who you are and I’m Robin now,” which... worked. Tim is the least physically gifted of the Robins, but he makes up for it in detective skills and tactical intelligence. He was the only Robin to still have living parents outside of the Batfamily, though they were murdered soon into his career. He dropped out of high school and was acting CEO of Wayne Enterprises for a time. He has crippling depression and is implied to be suicidal.
Stephanie Brown (Spoiler I, Robin IV, Batgirl III): see under “Batgirls.”
Damian Wayne (Robin V): Damian is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, and was raised—unbeknownst to his father—by his mother and grandfather to be an assassin, as well as to be the best at literally everything (for context: despite being a young teenager, he technically holds multiple unaccredited PHDs). However, this stunted his social development, so he is rude and abrasive almost constantly, though he has been getting better and his closest friends and family can see that he’s covering for a superiority/inferiority complex a mile deep. Damian has a constant need to prove himself and has taken up his father’s adoption habit, though he prefers animals. Animals are better than people.
Duke Thomas (Robin ??, The Signal): Duke Thomas was the first metahuman Bruce allowed into the Batfamily. Originally decided to take on The Riddler by himself at the age of... seven or so? Eventually joined a collective called “We Are Robin” and fought crime, unsanctioned. After his parents were driven mad by Joker Venom, Bruce took him in. He now fights crime in the daytime, unlike the rest of the Batfamily, using his nebulously-defined extrasensory abilities to augment his Batfamily training.
The Batgirls
Barbara Gordon (Batgirl I, Oracle I): while Tim may be the most intelligent member of the Batclan, Babs is the all-around smartest. Her intellect is damned high, and unlike most of the Batfamily, Barbara is actually capable of making good decisions. She just... decides not to, most of the time. Barbara is the daughter of Commissioner James Gordon and was the first Batgirl; she lost the use of her legs when Joker shot her in the spine, but refused to take a backseat in the Batclan’s war on crime and became Oracle, hacker extraordinaire who directs the activities of every single vigilante in Gotham from her clocktower lair. She has since regained the use of her legs and reclaimed the Batgirl mantle, turning Oracle into a living AI.
Helena Wayne (Batgirl I.5, Huntress I): see “Elseworlds and Future.”
Cassandra Cain/Wayne (Batgirl II, Black Bat I, Orphan I): Cassandra is the daughter of assassins Lady Shiva and David Cain, and had what is hands-down the worst childhood of the entire Batfamily (her father would shoot her in the leg, and if she flinched, he’d shoot her again). She was raised without spoken words, and as a result the language centers of her brain are more adapted for body language than words. This gives her a kind of combat clairvoyance where it’s nearly impossible for a human combatant to surprise her. After her first murder, she swore to never again take a life, and joined the Batclan to atone. I personally believe that she is Bruce’s favorite child and the true heir to the mantle of the Bat.
Stephanie Brown (Spoiler I, Robin IV, Batgirl III): the daughter of Arthur Brown, a criminal known as Cluemaster, Stephanie became a vigilante specifically to oppose her father and then just had a bunch of mission creep. She is brash, sarcastic, and reckless, but has oodles of passion and natural talent. DC editors hate her, so she ends up screwing up or getting pushed aside a lot, but she is much more competent than she appears and is extremely good at getting people to underestimate her.
Others
Kate Kane (Batwoman I): Kate Kane is Bruce’s cousin, dishonorably discharged from the military under “dont ask don’t tell,” though this has likely been retconned thanks to DC’s sliding timescale. She is actually specifically not connected to the Batfamily, being more of an auxiliary member by her own choice—as a military woman, she dislikes their methods and considers them sloppy. She uses guns, has her own rogues’ gallery unconnected to her cousin’s, and is extremely competent.
Jean-Paul Valley (Azrael I, Batman II): Jean-Paul believed himself to be an ordinary college student, but was in fact a genetically modified super-soldier created to punish the wicked through the use of magic and advanced technology. He eventually broke his conditioning thanks to Batman and joined the family, even taking over for Batman briefly after Bane broke his back. (This proved to be a terrible decision.) He fights using powered armor and enchanted medieval weaponry.
Harper Row (Bluebird I): I know very little about Harper except that she is openly bisexual and uses hilariously oversized sci-fi guns.
Claire Clover (Gotham Girl I): a metahuman with Superman-like abilities; however, the more she uses them, the faster her lifespan burns away. Last I checked, she was working with Bane for some reason to do bad things to Batman. Don’t know why. She’s odd.
Lonnie Machin (Anarky I, Moneyspider I): may or may not be the son of The Joker. Lonnie is a genius Anarchist, but not of the “bomb-throwing” variety—in fact, he detests bombers. Briefly acted as Tim’s Oracle, since, thanks to extensive neurological self-modification, he’s one of the few people in Gotham who is actually more intelligent than Tim is.
Helena Bertinelli (Huntress II, Batgirl briefly I think?): daughter of a crime family that got wiped out by a rival crime family. However, she didn’t know her family was mafia, and as a vigilante in Gotham ended up trying to operate under Batman’s rules. Wasn’t very good at that—she’s a bit too vicious and brutal, despite her attempts to rein herself in. Uses crossbows primarily.
Elseworlds & Future
Terry McGinnis (Batman Beyond I): the definitive future Batman. Thanks to Amanda Waller and superscience shenanigans, Terry is the biological son of Bruce Wayne. He wears a highly advanced batsuit that is closer to powered armor than a costume, which gives Iron Man a run for his money. Unlike Bruce’s obsessive preparedness, Terry’s skillset lies in improvisation.
Carrie Kelley (Robin II.5): the Robin of the dystopian timeline of The Dark Knight Returns. It’s been a while since I read DKR, so I don’t remember much about her.
Helena Wayne (Batgirl I.5, Huntress I): Bruce and Selina’s daughter from another dimension.

(Submission Prompt)
Hey, so for an entrapdak drabble could you write a beast island reunion where beast island is a jungle and Hordak has to get to the island on a helicopter and cut through the leaves with a machete or something because I keep writing this fanfiction in my head but I can’t seem to word it properly irl, and it’d be awesome if you could write a drabble, thanks
============
I am not taking this in the direction you want and for that I am sorry but I go where my mind takes me.
============
The rotors pulled the heavy blades through the air with a roar. The entire area could hear the approach and landing of the helicopter. The draft generated by its thrust rustled the trees and scared the wildlife away. The Horde Insignia was emblazoned on its tai-
“Wait I have a question.” Lonnie speaks up.
“Yes?” Entrapta replies with a smile and a tilt of her head.
“What exactly is a helicopter?”
“It’s a type of flying machine. Go on Entrapta.” Lord Hordak commands from his throne.
“Right! Okay! Where was I?” The Princess hrmms as she remembers her place in the totally real story of the daring mission that rescued her. “Oh right!”
Lord Hordak leaps from the hovering vehicle. Landing on the ground with a heavy thud and looking over the area with a scowl. Jungle foliage surrounds the small clearing he had dropped into. Dense and dangerous. Entrapta was sent here, and he was going to get her back. He marches into the treeline, pulling his machete as he goes. Nothing will sto-
“Yes Kyle what is it?” Entrapta interrupts herself, noting Kyle sitting cross legged on the floor and waving his hand back and forth above him.
“Hi! Yeah! Sorry! What’s a machete?”
Lonnie looks over at him quickly. “Seriously Kyle? What’s a machete? Did you forget everything from basic melee combat theory?”
Kyle frowns. “I didn’t get great marks in those courses.”
Lord Hordak groans, rubbing his temples. “It is a type of multi-use blade. Entrapta please. Continue.”
“Okay!”
Through the dense underbrush of the jungle Hordak hacks and slices his way. He has but one goal. Find his Princess, and he will succeed no matter the effort it takes. No matter the hardsh-
“Okay I am so sorry about this but I have a question too.” Scorpia this time. She looks genuinely interested in the story at least.
Hordak audibly groans as Entrapta smiles and asks. “What is it Scorpia?”
“How did Hordak know where you were? Wouldn’t he just be cutting through the jungle blindly? If he had a helicopter why didn’t he fly around and... make a grid or something?”
“Okay!” Hordak booms. “You all can leave! Storytime is over if you will not simply suspend your disbelief!”
There’s a chorus of awws and disappointment and telling Entrapta to make Hordak let them stay right in front of him.

five seconds flat - Lizzy McAlpine (Writing Challenge)
Tumblr media
Hello!
I am back to do yet another writing challenge! This time, I'll be focusing on "five seconds flat", the brand-new album by Lizzy McAlpine.
I love this album so much and have already had so many ideas for it. I hope you all enjoy this!
Masterlist for this Writing Challenge:
1. doomsday
I Feel More Free Than I Have in Years Six Feet in the Ground Lonnie Machin X Reader Lonnie had played a big game. Tough and chaotic. However, those closest to you can learn how to look through your mask, especially after you've hurt them.
2. an ego thing
It's Not That I Hate You; I Hate That it Hurt Andrew Garfield X Reader After voicing a real problem, (Y/n) couldn't have anticipated the response they would get from Andrew. Unfortunately, (Y/n) can play the same game as him.
3. erase me
Him and His Aftershave Hit like a Drug Dean Winchester X Reader A rebound may not always be healthy, but coping is coping. It's a shame that something as simple as guilt can ruin someone's plans. Sometimes it can be for the best.
4. called you again
You're Better off on Your Own Kara Danvers X Reader Things fall apart. Not everything can last forever. (Y/n) knew they'd have to accept that eventually. That doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt like a bitch.
5. all my ghosts
They Know All of My Habits, but They Don't Know About You Jack Kline X Reader For unknown reasons, (Y/n) finds themself back in Lebanon. However, it's not as miserable as they remember it being, mostly thanks to a new resident that goes by Jack. All (Y/n) can hope is that those unknown reasons don't ruin things going forward.
6. reckless driving
And One Day It Will Kill Us if I Don't Let Go Sam Winchester X Reader Sam finally acknowledged his feelings but refuses to act on them. (Y/n) thought that they could accept that, but while working with Sam and seeing all of the risks he takes, their patience runs thin.
7. weird
And Now I'm in a Maze Chuck Shurley X Reader (Y/n) started noticing something strange about the world surrounding them. However, the person that vowed to protect them does not like how much (Y/n) is poking around.
8. ceilings
And it Feels Like the Start of a Movie I've Seen Before Castiel X Reader (Y/n) had been haunted by vivid dreams and memories that they can't place. After being isolated for so long, they assume that it's just their brain trying to cope. Unfortunately, the answer is far more heartbreaking.
9. what a shame (Part 2)
I Don't Wanna Take My Mind Off You Aaron 'Hotch' Hotchner X Reader Things with Hotch and Hailey had been rocky. The strain on the relationship helps to encourage Hotch to overstep some boundaries in his work life.
10. firearm
What a Shame That I Put Up with You Ed Nygma X Reader Ed's choices drive (Y/n) to reconsider how far one person can go for love. How long can something go on before a boundary is seriously crossed?
11. hate to be lame
Hate to be Lame but I Might Love You Nora Darhk X Reader A sad side effect of her childhood is that Nora doesn't have the best skills in communicating. So, when she tries to take a big step with (Y/n), things hit a small bump.
12. nobody likes a secret
Nobody Likes a Secret, and I Was Always Yours Tommy Merlyn X Reader Tommy learns a very important lesson after he royally screws up. You can't treat people like crap and expect it to never get thrown back in your face.
13. chemtrails
I Miss It, I Miss You Rory Gilmore X Reader Rory never thought about the possibility of losing (Y/n). She should've known that people will only wait so long before they get tired. How long can one person go unwanted before they decide they deserve better?
14. orange show speedway
Riding on the Line Between Acceptable and Angering Your Girlfriend Allison Cameron X Reader (Y/n) never really enjoyed Chase's company. Not just because they loved his girlfriend, but also because he was a terrible person. Sometimes, (Y/n) walked a very thin line between being very close friends and moving toward something very different. And Chase felt it was necessary to take action.
