DONT BURN ME AT THE STAKE. I haven’t rewatched the first movie in a while, and I went to go look up his name after I finished this… and that’s when I realized he showed up in the movie already but it’s TOO DAMN LATE. EDDIE CAPULTO HEADCANONS CAW: HE DO BE BLONDE AND HE DO BE BLACK. there is a legitimate reason behind him being black. Imagining Him, Charles, and Tiff being the serial killing Trio (Eddie mentions Tiffany in the book, he doesn’t like her. His motto is “F em and forget em” he’s not a big fan of tiff
I think him being a young (20 something) black man in the 80’s would just add a bit of nuance to the reason he drove away. Charles may get life in jail but he’d get the death penalty- or hell, he probably wouldn’t make it to the trial. also Eddie being blonde bc bc Charles has a thing for Blondes. They’re friends with benefits who have NO IDEA that they’re gay.
HE HAS BLONDE DREADS

Fratboy! Gojo when reader decides to leave (maybe she saw a movie or show or something talking about people like Satoru who manipulate innocent naive girls) and he's like oh shit this is actually happening and tries to stop her
Maybe he promises he'll change but he still keeps manipulating her the slightest bit and with more mundane things (he thinks he's protecting her)

“ya know—you’re not the first girl gojo has done this to, right?” you’re pulled from your psychology book. the library is deathly quiet and even with the girl speaking in a hushed tone, her voice still rings. your eyes take in her appearance; short cut hair that’s in a straightened bob, makeup that compliments her face structure and complexion well. every detail, from her meticulously styled hair to her carefully chosen makeup, speaks of a woman who knows herself and embraces her unique beauty with effortless charm. she exudes this confidence that makes you sit up higher in the chair and straighten your back.
“excuse me?” you’re absolutely confused as to what she’s referring to. your hold on your book tightens as you feel yourself growing defensive as the seconds tick.
she gracefully invites herself to a seat at the polished wooden table, her movements fluid and poised. as she settles into her own chair, her posture remains straight, radiating a sense of elegant charm. beside her, a luxurious dior handbag rests upon the table, its sleek lines and gleaming hardware is even more evidence of her advanced style. the supple leather exudes opulence, subtly reflecting the ambient light in the room. in her presence, the atmosphere seems to shift, filled with a sense of poise and sophistication. every detail, from the way she holds herself to the choice of accessories, speaks to a woman who understands the power of elegance and carries it with unwavering confidence.
“i’ve known gojo long enough.” she ignores your offended remark. “he takes pretty girls like you, and breaks them.” she looks directly into your eyes with every word, hoping that her words get through to your head.  “let me guess, he buys you all that you want. sometimes you don’t even have to ask him. it all feels so good, huh? having an attractive guy doing whatever for you. you love it don’t you?” her tone seems condescending and it angers you.
you drop your book onto the table. her eyes examine you like a hawk. “you don’t know what you’re talkin’ about.” you frown.
“oh, honey. yes i do.” she gives you a pitiful smile. she almost feels bad for you, you’re so naive and it’s painfully obvious. she knows how satoru gets down, she knows his thought process, she knows how he likes to break down women. “i was you at one point.” she points at herself. she makes to pronounce the word you hardly to get you to understand.
you bite down on your lip. you’re at a loss for words. she seems so serious and it’s hard for you to convince yourself that she’s lying. you can’t understand why she’s doing this, though. why did she come up to you? is she being petty or is she genuinely caring for your wellbeing? you can’t decide.
“i was the new girl on campus, no friends, very little confidence. but i had some fight in me. and gojo loved that.” she explains. “all i’m saying is that once he corrupts you and fucks up your way of thinking, he’s gonna throw you to the side and find a newer toy. i’m speaking from experience.”
it almost feels like you can’t breathe. you’re staring at her with widened eyes and your bottom lip is trembling. her words place a seed of insecurity in your head that quickly sprouts.
“h-he wouldn’t.. he-”
she cuts you off with a sigh .”yes he would. and i’m telling you this now so that when it happens you can think back to this conversation. remember vividly that i told you so.” she says before standing up. with a fluid motion, she rises from her seat, the soft fabric of her pencil skirt rustling gently in the quiet of the room. there was a purpose in her movements, a determination evident in the way she straightens her posture and squares her shoulders.
in the stillness of the moment, the room seemed to hold its breath, as if acknowledging the significance of her departure. and as she turned to leave, a fleeting glance over her shoulder hints at a depth of emotion left unspoken, a silent goodbye to you.
your bottom lip trembles and unshed tears cloud your vision. the world becomes blurry as you try to hold back crying in public. your breaths became shallow and uneven, each inhale a struggle against the rising tide of emotion threatening to engulf you. the hushed quietness of the library seemed to amplify the unease within you, every sound felt like an intrusion, a reminder of the fragility of your facade.
with a trembling hand, you reach up to brush away the moisture threatening to spill over, your fingertips tracing the delicate curve of your cheek. the touch was fleeting, a fleeting attempt to stop the flow of tears threatening to portray your vulnerability to the prying eyes of strangers.
the library turned into a haven of paradoxes at that point, a place where comfort and unease coexisted.

surrounded by the comfort of satoru's frat brothers chatting animatedly in the adjacent living room, you stood behind a counter, cutting neatly to the best of your ability. you were preparing a fruit salad, an offering of a refreshing solution to the sizzling heat.
with each slice of fruit, the kitchen was filled with a sweet aroma. beads of sweat glistened on your forehead, a loud example of the relentless grip of the summer heat that seemed to seep through every crevice of the house.
as you moved throughout the kitchen, the sound of satoru's footsteps followed closely behind, his presence sprouting something unsettling in the midst of the heated atmosphere. with unpracticed ease, you continue your task, the rhythmic motion of slicing fruit a welcome distraction from the discomfort of the day, and from your newborn insecurities.
just as you reached for another piece of fruit, satoru's arms encircled your waist from behind, his touch a sudden burst of warmth against your skin. startled, you instinctively recoiled from his embrace, the abrupt movement disrupting the calmness that flowed through the kitchen.
in the wake of your sudden withdrawal, a tense silence settled over the room, the air thick with unspoken tension.
he gazes at you with piercing blue eyes, a blend of bewilderment and annoyance evident in his expression. crossing his arms, his muscular frame becomes more pronounced. “what’s been up with you?” satoru asks.
you spare him an uninterested glare. you don’t stop cutting up the fruit, the knife continues to loudly slam down against the cutting board. the slices aren’t as congruent as you would like them to be, and that irritates you. satoru questioning you isn’t making the irritation go away not one bit.
“what do you mean?” your voice comes out softer than you anticipated.
“you’ve been actin’...” he rolls his hand as if circling it in a fluid motion would make the word come to him any faster. “weird.” he finishes.
“i haven’t been actin’ any differently than how i normally act.” you say, offended.
“yes you have.” satoru frowns. “always pushin’ me off and shit. what happened to my lil slut? you used t’never reject me ever.” satoru hasn’t said much but what he has said so far is enough. you slam the knife down onto the counter, you turn around swiftly. your angered eyes search for his.
“is that all you see me as? huh? a slut? a sex addict?” it’s your turn to cross your arms against your chest. “you think ‘m stupid, toru? you think i don’t know your plans?”
satoru looks at you as if you’ve grown four heads. an airy sigh escapes past his lips. “what the fuck are you talkin’ about, bun?”
“‘m not fuckin’ stupid, toru! i know! i know that you’re gonna stop messin’ with me once you get bored!” your voice grows louder, drowning out the chatter of the boys nearby, who fall silent as soon as they detect the shift in your tone.
“bun, ‘s too hot for you t’be actin’ like this一” he’s cut off by you continuing your heartfelt rant.
“you think ‘m naive and stupid! i know you think so, don’t even try to deny it!”
“stop fuckin’ yellin’, girl.” he hisses the word out as if it is some insult. he’s grabbing at your shoulders, trying to get you to calm down.
“i won’t let you hurt me, toru.” your anger quickly dissolves into sadness and in seconds you’re crying in his hold.
he thinks you’re throwing your usual temper tantrum until something along the lines of “leaving you” utters past your lips. his eyes widen and he’s quick to wrap his arms around you and pick you up. he throws your over his muscular shoulder and makes his way towards the stairs.
“put me down, satoru!” you shriek. your hands pounding on his lower back do little to slow down. he walks with purpose and security. you raise your head when he passes by the living room, only to see his brothers already looking at the two of you. you immediately drop your head in embarrassment.
your cries and threats do not waver satoru, not one bit. once he has you in his room, he’s locking the door and placing you in the middle of the bed. the second your back touches the soft mattress, you’re attempting to rise up. he’s quick to push you down and climb on top of you.
“toru, move!” you cry even harder. you feel so weak against him. while your mind screamed at you to be angry at him, your heart begged for you to not push him away.
“‘s okay, baby. daddy’s gonna make this all better.” he mumbles. he’s pressing desperate kisses all over your face and neck while his large hands make quick work to undress your body.
even with your futile attempts at pushing and kicking him away, he stays firm. your eyes are squeezed shut, you didn’t want to see those hypnotizing blue eyes. you didn’t want to see any more of him, ever. loud cries and gasps escape from you, you quickly grow tired and lay pliantly on the bed. you don’t take notice of the bed shifting and him feeling further away than he was seconds ago.
you’re about to tell him to move off of you once again until you feel his arms suddenly snake around your thighs and his tongue come in contact with your clit. your back arches off of the bed, your eyes fly open and you look down in between your legs. he’s already looking up at you, he laps at your pussy like a starved man. your hands fly to his hair, you’re uncertain on what you want. bring him closer? push him away?
your wails are quickly replaced with uncertain moans. your hips shift as you rock yourself against satoru’s face. feeling him lick and suction your clit before making a straight line down to your slit that’s dripping wet from his spit and your own arousal.
he pries your pussy lips open with the flat of his tongue. his eyes flutter when he snakes his tongue inside of you, going as far as anatomy allows. he shakes his head from side to side expertly. the grip he has on your thighs is on the borderline of hurting, but you’re becoming too hazy to comment on the firmness.
it almost feels like he’s making out with your pussy from the way he places long kisses to your clit before flattening his tongue. your whines and gasps merge in with the lewd sounds of his mouth kissing and sucking on you.
“daddy..” you mewl when he suddenly places all of his attention of your clit only. his eyes go back onto your face as he’s looming over your clit and spit is slipping from his mouth and onto your pussy. your mouth is stuck in an ‘O’ shape when he hungrily feasts. spit drips from his chin, it slowly slides down to your asshole that’s left unattended.
“mmm.” he moans. the vibrations cause your legs to shake and your hips to flinch. your back arches up, off of the bed. he has to bring a hand up to push you back down.
“g’na cum, toruuu.” you whine. the grip you have on his hair tightens. he lays lax with his mouth open. you begin fucking yourself stupid on his face, loud whines and babbles escaping past your mouth. the sound of your spit and arousal covered pussy meeting with his tongue is absolutely lewd.
you’re both letting out drawn out hums. your breath gets stuck in your chest when your orgasm finally hits. you sink as far into the bed as it allows, your eyes roll back as cries escape past your lips. you accidentally close your legs around his head, satoru doesn’t care though. he focuses on lapping at your folds, drinking up all of the arousal your climax brings out. he greedily licks at your pussy until you’re desperately pushing at his head, clearly overstimulated.
you’re still out of it when satoru fixes his position in between your legs. his face which reeks of you is inches away from yours. he’s quick to press a long kiss against your lips, as you open your mouth, he lines his cock up to your entrance and sinks in. inch by inch, he stretches your pussy out.
“i know, baby. i know.” he coos at you as you prattle incoherent things. he shift your thighs until they’re thrown over his shoulders. “you’re jus mad at me. you ain’ goin’ anywhere.” he hums as he begins fucking into you.
you can’t talk or even think right now. you grip the covers as you wail out a deafening moan when he gives you a particularly hard thrust. his arms are placed right beside your head, even just his forearms almost dwarfs your head. the size difference between the two of you makes his cock twitch even while inside of you.
“mhmm. pussy’s s’wet for me. who’s gonna fuck you like this if you leave me? hm? who’s gonna stretch this greedy pussy out like it needs to be?” his words fall on deaf ears when you throw your head back and squeeze your eyes shut once again.
you feel so full of him. his stretching you out deliciously. you could feel your pussy creaming over his cock, if you were to look down you knew there would be a white ring at the base and coating his balls.
“daddy’s never gonna hurt you, baby. everything i do is to protect you.” he’s kissing on your jaw with every word. “my sweet lil bunny.”
the threat of you leaving him rings through his head. he feels a sharp pang in his chest when a fleeting vision of a future without you flickers in his mind. in response, he propels himself forward with an almost punishing intensity, driven by a desperate need to defy the looming threat and cling to your presence with every fiber of his being.
there’s a fucked out look in your eyes when you finally crack them open. your boobs flow with every thrust, satoru can’t help but to grip one. you whither from how hard he grips it and he shushes you by placing his lips on yours. the sound of his hips meeting against your ass along with your whiny moans fills the room.
satoru lets out airy moans of his own before pulling cock out and sitting up a little. he bends your legs until your almost folded over. he uses two fingers to rub at your dripping pussy, with practiced ease his fingers ease into your pussy.
“nooo, toru.” you whine. “wan’ your cock.” you pout.
satoru’s cock jumps at your whining, beads of precum drabble from his tip and soil onto the covers. he’s quick to push his dick back inside of you, fucking you with inhumane speed. the icky sound of his heavy balls slapping against your skin makes butterflies churn in your stomach.
“‘m gonna do better, okay? gonna spoil you even more, gonna一fuck jus’ gonna do so much more, baby. you hear me?” his skin is flushed and there’s a glazed look in his eyes.
“mmm.” you hum. your eyes are glued to where his dick is pounding your pussy. it’s almost fascinating to see your arousal coat his dick and balls so prettily.
your breathing is cut short when he wraps his hand around your throat.
“talk t’me, baby.” he whines. his breathing is sped up and he knows he’s not going to last much longer. his other hand darts down and begins circling your sensitive clit.
“h-hear you, daddy. ‘m not goin’ anywhereーohmygaaa ah!.” you let out a loud squeak as you suddenly begin cumming all over his cock. your vision blackens and you’re quick to lay your hand against his stomach to slow him down. “cummin! cummin! daddyyy!”
“mhmm, cum for your toru. goooooddd girl. there we go, bun. let it all out, baby. mhm j-just like that.” he praises you. his own orgasm is seconds away. with a few more thrusts, he’s quickly pulling out of you and rubbing at the tip of his cock. “f-fuck! shit!” his head tilts back as becomes rougher with each stroke. warm, thick spurts of cum shoot out from his cockhead and onto your pussy and thighs.
“shit, shit, shit, fuuuccckkkk.” he’s moaning and whining as he goes. when he has nothing left to give and his thighs are trembling for overstimulation, he pulls his hand away.
the two of you breathe heavily as you try coming down from your orgasms. he helps you shift onto a spot that’s not wet, while continuing to mutter sweet nothings to you.
“i was serious, bun.” he says while kissing on your neck. “you’re my bunny. alright? my pretty, smart bunny. you’re my girl. daddy’s baby. you’re not going anywhere.”
his words of dedication weave a delicate mural of emotion around you, coaxing heat to bloom within your body. your heart flutters with each syllable, sending ripples of warmth through your veins. with a shy yet heartfelt smile, you tilt your head in a tender gesture of appreciation, your eyes sparkling with the unspoken language of affection. maybe that girl was just jealous that you have satoru and she doesn’t. you decide at that very moment that you won’t let her hatred words get to you.
“‘m daddy’s bunny.” you repeat softly. he grins at your words and places a long, sincere kiss against your lips.

Small Parallel I love with Knives Out and Glass Onion
Neither Harlan Thrombey nor Andi Brand are good people. They’re not. They’re also not evil people to be clear, but again, they’re not really good people.
By the kind of people his family and especially his children are, we get a sense of who Harlan is or largely was in his life, especially with the comment that there is so much of him in Ransom.
Andi was also clearly more than okay with both Birdie and Duke as not just acquaintances but close friends; as well as what other nonsense came out of Miles before “Klear,” and she was his business partner and friend.
She wasn’t some moral beacon of wholesomeness.
Her standard of good was –
Let’s not put this very dangerous and unstable thing that hasn’t even come close to being properly tested out into the world, especially not under our company’s name; because we are not some daring startup company anymore, we’re an established conglomerate and this could easily sink us.
That’s not exactly a high bar of morality.
And that’s okay.
Really it is.
I like how neither movie truly idolizes Harlan or Andi to the point they are made out to be truly good people, BUT yet, we still see why Marta and Helen clearly loved and cared about these two and why their deaths matter.
Marta and Helen are our truly good souls for these movies.
The two main groups of people - The Thrombeys and The Disruptors - are all various shades of the same kind of bad person for each movie.
The Thrombeys are all willing to live off Harlan’s hard work and they all believe they are entitled to his fortune because it’s their family right. It’s theirs. And once you peel back the layers of liberal or conservative, they’re all the same, because they’re all a bit more than willing to defend what they think is theirs, with knives out and teeth bared.
The Disruptors are somehow even more reliant on Miles than the Thrombeys were on Harlan (which is saying something); and they will cling onto him until they see his boat is doomed to sink. They literally know he killed two people; two of their so-called “friends” and they’re not willing to do anything. At least, not until Miles is truly fucked.
They all care more about their own survival and ambitions than doing the right thing. And once more, when you peel back the layers of liberal or conservative, we once again see they’re all the same, they’re all more than willing to lie for a lie and stab a “friend” in the back.
But Harlan and Andi are our mixed bags of morality.
This is clear enough with the two types of people they are associated with.
The Thrombey Family and Marta.
The Disruptors and Helen.
They’re kind of like an optical illusion, it really depends on how you look at them and what you see when it comes to their own morality.
However, they do have two traits that I think redeem them for the audience, or at the very least make them more admirable to us.
They are genuinely self-made people.
Harlan was a brilliant murder mystery writer. He was. And he did build this publishing/franchise empire of his.
Andi was a brilliant mind who dabbled in many different things, but her real talent (as I saw it) was being able to spot a certain something-something in people. She saw the doers in the world, even when they weren’t quite there yet, she saw their potential to be the kind of person who others would notice and remember.
They were also both willing to stand by their values and once they made a decision, they would not be bullied into changing it.
Harlan decided to cut off his family and was sticking by that.
Andi decided to walk away from Miles and was sticking by that.
And I don’t know, I just like that little bit of extra moral complexity these two characters bring to these movies.
Oh, and Benoit Blanc is a good person, but he definitely isn’t governed by what the law or society says is good. He’s an eccentric who’s here for a good time, a fun and challenging mystery, and is more than willing to help out the good souls in the world when he gets the opportunity.

Good Omens Is a Big Deal
With everything going on I haven’t acknowledged how grateful I am for what Neil (and John) did this season. I always saw Good Omens as a romantic story and everyone involved seemed to be super supportive of that. To actually see a follow through on those themes was wonderful though. To see Aziraphale continue to look at Crowley like he’s the earth, the moon, and the stars. To see Crowley continue to save his angel not because he needs them to, but because they love him.
To see them have their dinners, and give the other access to their prized possessions. To see them dance. They love each other. They are in love with each other and it’s not implied or a throwaway line that can be edited out.
It’s the beating heart at the center of the story.
Tumblr media
And they weren’t meant to be. Neil himself will tell you when he and Terry wrote the book Aziraphale and Crowley were meant to be friends and that’s it. Over time their relationship evolved and where a lot of writers would simply ignore that and keep pushing forward Neil pivoted and said “you know what? let’s see where this goes.” The last time I can remember something like this happening was with Hannibal years ago, it’s so rare with queer pairings.
I know everyone was excited about the kiss and it is refreshing to see queer people actually get to kiss, it’s still not something that happens all the time, but that’s not what made them canonically queer to me. If they remained completely asexual and never kissed or showed interest in kissing one another I’d feel the same. While I always felt they were queer what sealed it for me were 3 things:
1. Nina and Maggie, a romantic pairing that parallel our angel and demon break down to Crowley how she and Aziraphale are partners (and it’s clear they don’t mean business partners, does Crowley look like he runs a bookshop?) but they never say what they’re really thinking. They go on to state how that’s all they needed, the obvious implication here being that Nina and Maggie shared their romantic feelings with one another and that Crowley and Aziraphale need to do the same. Upon hearing this Crowley takes that as a sign to confess his feelings.
2. Gabriel and Beelzebub, another pairing that parallels Crowley and Aziraphale who are also clearly in love with one another is something Crowley references while he is confessing his feelings. “If those two lovestruck idiots can go off together, so can we. Because I love you.”
3. Crowley and Aziraphale express plainly to each other that they need the other. Crowley says to Aziraphale he wants to stop pretending they aren’t a team, a group, a them.
Tumblr media
Aziraphale says verbatim “We can be together.” and “I need you.” He doesn’t say “We can work together” or “I need you to help me” or some other cop out that a lot of other shows or movies might come up with to continue to bait their fans, while having plausible deniability.
Tumblr media
They love each other and it’s not platonic.
To me, the kiss serves as a way to seal the deal for people who only understand queer love when it’s punching them in the face. That’s not to say queer people can’t like the kiss, it’s one of my favorite scenes in the show simply because of how heartbreaking it is, but they were a couple to me long before that. And to add onto that by making every other important pairing in the show queer as well? Nina and Maggie being happy sapphics who don’t die at the end. They’re not together, but the implication is that one day they will be. Two non-binary beings—Gabriel and Beelzebub—falling in love and choosing to be with one another forever. The angels and demons are all genderless and no one misgenders them and no one gives a FUCK.
That means so much to me and I genuinely cannot express how thankful I am that this show and this season were made. The only thing I can say is thank you for standing for something, because not everyone does.

Loving You is Easy (Steve Harrington x Reader)
Tumblr media
summary: Steve sometimes needs to be reminded that real love comes without conditions. (word count: 1.6k)
warnings: one (?) curse word, kissing, let me know if there’s anything I’ve missed.
a/n: I was thinking about soft and vulnerable steve and i really just want someone to  hold him close and tell him it’s okay fr fr.
--------
Loving Steve is easy, even when he’s under the impression that it’s not.
“I’m really sorry, it’s just Robin really needs me to cover her shift and she took one for me last week so-”
“Steve,” you gently interrupt him to save from explaining yet again why he’s missing date night tonight. You try to keep the smile out of your voice as you shift the phone to your other side, “It’s okay, sweetheart. I know Robin wouldn’t have asked you unless she really needed it. I’m not upset.”
He hums worriedly, as though he doesn’t believe you. “We can have date night tomorrow? I can take you somewhere really nice. Like, I’ll put on a button-up and you can wear your fancy new shoes kind of nice,” he says.
You shake your head despite him not being able to see you. You can picture him now behind the counter of Family Video, leg bouncing with nervous energy and running a hand through his hair as he waits for your response. So focused on making sure you’re alright.
“Why don’t we save the fancy date night for a different time?” You suggest.
“Oh god, you are mad. Shit, I’ll call Robin and tell her to get over here- that I can’t take her shift anymore and I’ll be there-” He groans out and you can hear him already scrambling on the other end of the phone, ready to grab his jacket and keys.
“Steve!” This time you don’t try to keep the laughter out of your voice. If it were anyone else, his antics might not read as charming and genuine as you know they are. But you know he means it. That he would jump in his car right now and be at your door in the next ten minutes if he detected even the slightest hint of sadness in your voice. “Steve, I just meant maybe instead you can come over after your shift tonight. Just sleep over here and we can just hang out tonight and tomorrow. It doesn’t have to be fancy- I just want to be with you. No grand dinner dates necessary. Though I wouldn’t say no to seeing you in a button-up if that’s still what you want to do,” you tease.
“Oh,” he says. There’s a beat where you know he’s almost recalibrating his senses. Waiting for the other shoe to drop, for you to finally chew him out like he prepared himself for. You have to remind yourself that it isn’t a comment on your relationship- it’s just that Steve isn’t used to a love without conditions. “That sounds nice. I can grab some clothes from my house and then I’ll come by after work?” He asks.
“I’ll keep a light on for you.”
“A light? What am I, a sailor?”
“I don’t know, Mr. Ex-Scoops Ahoy-”
“Okay, okay forget I said anything,” he sighs, pretending to be offended. In the background, you faintly hear the ring of the Family Video door opening.
“Get back to your customers, sailor. I’ll see you later. Love you,” you tell him.
“I love you too. Bye.”
____
It’s late by the time you hear the faint knock at your door, but you knew it would be. Saturday night at Family Video can be hectic and leave quite a few tapes to be put away by the end of the night.
When you open your door, Steve is standing with a sheepish grin and full arms.
“I brought candy and a few movie options,” He says as you let him in. He dumps his armful of treasure across your coffee table, rooting around in the pile for something. “You would not believe how many places are closed at this hour. I mean, what’s a guy gotta do to get M&M’s and Air Head’s around here? I finally remembered the gas station would still be- oh! Here it is!” He quits his ramble to face you, finally finished with his search. Proudly clutched in his hand is a single yellow flower- a buttercup. The stem is a little bent, undoubtedly from being crushed in between tapes and candy, but you reckon that it’s the singular most beautiful flower you’ve ever seen.
You take it from him gingerly, a grin painted across your face as you touch the delicate petals. “Where did you get this?”
Steve shrugs, “They started growing outside my house. I thought they were pretty and you’re pretty so… I figured you should have one…which, thinking about it now, maybe I should have picked more than one. That’s was kinda weird of me.”
You shake your head, placing the flower carefully on the table and make a mental note to find a glass for it later. You step in close to wrap your arms around him, “Thank you, I love it.”
He hugs you close, one hand rubbing your back in soft motions. You tuck your head against his shoulder and you feel the pressure of him dropping a kiss to the side of your head. You can smell the remnants of his cologne clinging to his skin and the dust of Family Video on his shirt and another smell that’s so distinctly Steve, it reminds you of warmth and being wrapped up close to him, just like you are now.
“I’m sorry we didn’t get to have date night. I know you really wanted to go out tonight. But we can still go and do something tomorrow, if that’s alright?” Steve murmurs. He sounds troubled, and you know Steve well enough to understand that there’s something more distressing him than just this one missed time.
You quirk your chin up from the hug so that you can catch his eyes. “Steve, I want to go out if that’s what you want to do too. But, date night can just be this. Just be us watching a movie on the couch together until we inevitably fall asleep. I just want to be with you.”
He frowns. “I know, but you deserve all the date nights. Every date night in the world, and I want to give them to you. Fancy steakhouses or whatever people do. I don’t want to always just be getting you gas station candy and movies from my work.”
“I never really cared for steak all that much,” you tease, using your closeness to poke at his side. It brings about the intended effect as a smile briefly overtakes his face before he gets serious again.
“I don’t know why you put up with me sometimes,” he looks down at you like he can’t quite believe you’re real.
“I don’t know. Must be the ‘I’m in love with you’ thing.”
“I really lucked out with you, huh? I’m just crossing my fingers that you don’t realize that you got a bad deal and go running for the hills,” he chuckles. His tone is joking, but you recognize that underlying hint of insecurity. That mask of humor that he pulls out when he doesn’t know how to tell you how he really feels.
“Why would I do that? I hit the jackpot with you, Harrington.” You pull out of his arms so that you can look at him directly, trying to convey your sincerity in every word. Sometimes you play into his game of humor and deflection, but you also know when Steve just needs to be reminded that you’re not going anywhere.
Looking down at you, he’s got that small, lazy smile he sometimes gets. You can’t resist the urge to lean forward and kiss him. It’s soft and slow and you’re both smiling just a bit too much for it to really work.
You pull away, intent on finding a movie to start so that you two can curl up on the couch together when his fingers lace through yours, pulling you back in. The second kiss is deeper, less honey-syrup-sweet as his other hand finds the side of your face to keep you close. You lace your hands around the back of his neck, finding the soft strands of his hair and thread your fingers through them.
When you finally pull back, face feeling warm, Steve is looking down at you with a starstruck shine in his eyes- one reserved specifically for you.
You pick the first movie your hand touches, not even glancing at the title as you put it in the player and then pull Steve down to sit next to you. He goes willingly, limbs finally relaxed and eased from the nervous tension you know he’s been carrying all day.
You kick your feet up onto the couch and make a home for yourself curled into Steve’s side. His arm instinctively wraps around you. Two puzzle pieces slotting together on the worn floral fabric of your couch. You try to turn your attention to the screen, but the light from the TV splaying across Steve’s face makes a much more captivating picture to you.
“What?” he laughs when he catches your gaze, knocking his weight against you gently.
“You’re easy to love, Steve Harrington,” you say simply. It sounds like a fact coming from you. As though it would follow ‘The sky is blue, the earth is round, and Steve Harrington is easy to love.’
He rests his forehead against yours, movie forgotten in the background. “I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to find all the words to tell you how much I love you,” he sighs, content.
“Just keep bringing me flowers that remind you of how pretty I am and I’m sure I’ll get the message.”
“Sure thing, baby. I’ll bring you a flower every day for the rest of our lives,” he laughs.
He means it.

Oooh I have a Obey Me writing idea for you but you can ignore if you don’t wanna do it. So when you first come to the Devildom, almost all of the brothers are cold/petty asf to the MC (in my Pisces opinion). Imagine MC’s like “fuck that” and doesn’t try to pander to them as much as the game script wants you to. Like the story still progresses bc the MC is still nosy when it counts, but she doesn’t center them around her world and instead gets closer someone who was nicer/more helpful in the beginning (say like Solomon or Simeon). I’m sorryyy I’m not hating on the brothers but realistically you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Like yeah being a tsundere is cute to an extent but most of em were doing too much in the beginning. Maybe a reaction from the brothers (doesn’t have to be specific for each brother) as they slowly start to warm up to MC but they can’t stand that they’re not gonna be as close as they wanted to be. And either Solomon or Simeon (or both) reacting to you getting closer to them ;) Again this request may be highly specific so you can either tweak it or toss it if it doesn’t sound appealing to write. It can be SFW or NSFW. I love your writing!
A/n: YOURE SO RIGHT BESTIE!! Like the dick ain’t good enough for them to be all over MC like that CRAZY disrespectful 😒 like in my head I was being fake nice to them to secure the pacts until like you make one with Satan and then it’s like okay, maybe I can be genuine w yall. Bc like I’m making friends w any of the billions of other demons there like Diavolo is all but head over heels for you.
Tumblr media
MC:
Tumblr media
- I’m so on board with this
- Like if they want to go low I can take it right to hell
- They want to throw UP
- Mammon thinks you’re joking but when you fr never come ask him for help he’s crying himself to sleep
- Asmo hates being ignored so after that time in the maze(catacombs? wtf was those) he’s antsy that you don’t really talk to him
- They feel you having fun through your pacts but when you’re around just them it’s like nothing
- Like when a lightbulb dies
- Student council meetings become increasingly more tense as they watch you get along with Solomon and Luke and Simeon and you’re cold to them
- They don’t even really realize they the problem at first
- Lucifer always itching to punish someone so when he snaps at you and you clapback and the issue never comes up again he’s a little disappointed
- Like him and Satan make fun of your grades?
- Bet. you’re being tutored by Solomon and a demon in your potions class
- Like bitch how the FUCK were we ever supposed to take demon philosophy before?? We just got here!!
- Refuse to work with them on any school activities
- You and mammon partnered up to decorate for some school event?
- You work only when he’s not around
- Beel is the one who sounds the alarm by realizing it’s hard to keep track of you
- Like he’ll go asking where you are and nobody can even say when the last time they saw you was
- Belphagor tried to pull that “I’m a human” shit and you didn’t visit the attic for like three weeks😭
- Had to actually force himself to be genuinely nice
- Remember how they said they sent a demon to like the human realm to pretty much do the same thing? who was that because I don’t think we ever hear about them😭
- But you get their number and talk about your shared experiences
- Fish out of water if you will!
- Lucifer WANTS to yell but you do the bare minimum of what they ask he can’t mandate you to join family movie night😔
- Asks a pouting mammon where tf you are and he lists off like any number of random demons you could be chilling with
- Asmo is burning with envy as he catches you at a party with a group of old acquaintinces
- Can see they are so obviously enjoying your company
- Tries to steal the attention for himself
- Levi seeing you on other mfs socials cosplaying w them and doing a TSL marathon like he’s right there??
- Dinner be so awkward but you brush it off like a G
- only texts the family group chat for confirmation, dinners ready, and when is lord diavolo asking for everyone
- Lucifer comes to Dia’s house bc paperwork and he plans to spill the tea when he sees you and him already HAVING TEA🤨
- Like excuse me??
- “Ah just who I was looking for-“
- “Sorry Lucifer I have exams to study for I was just asking Lord Diavolo some history questions I’ll be on my way.”
- He’s literally WILTING💀
- Whines to Dia and he’s like I’m sorry ?? have yall not been spending time with them??
- “Yall….LIVE together. I ain’t out just you and them in the same house for no reason??”
- He can’t eleven rly do shit bc you’re integrating into demon society very well and are pretty sociable
- Like you gain regular popularity but not through them
- Rest of RAD forgets you’re under their protection tbh
- Like you’re your own entity and not at all attached to them so when a random demon is caught talking about like chilling w you and mammon is like IM THEIR FIRST MAN YOU GOTTA AS ME
- he looses about 500 years when the demon goes
- “Oh yeah you are their hired help huh?”
- Yeah he’s picking out a coffin
- Bc he rly tries to curb his tsun behaviors but he hasn’t made it to that level with you where he can be genuine in private
- Levi too like he calls you a stupid normie on reflex and is whimpering when he sees he’s been blocked on devilgram
- What did yall expect??
- Beel is the ONLY one who you regularly talk to
- And even then he’s got his own stuff going on
- But you guys always eat together
- Jaws dropping when he offered you food
- I imagine Beel is like “oh they don’t be talking to yall?….That’s crazy”
- Precious boy so unaware of the conflict
- Nor bc he’s dumb but he’s like “tf that got to do with me?? MC likes me.”
- Very “okay what does that mean to me tho” energy
- I imagine after the Levi pact arc when mammon is wrapping your sprained wrist and he’s all
- “If I can’t come save ya next time, Die.”
- You pull away completely
- Even Satan is having to control himself be he sees your purposefully avoiding him
- He would congratulate you on how well you’re dodging his advances if it didn’t piss him off so bad
- Keeps it a little secret to himself that he can feel your pact mark burning right under his skin whenever you talk to them
- Played hot and cold to see how he can make you less mad when he interacts with you
- Lucifer is so desperate he’s fr about to make a pact early to feel any sort of proof you exist
- Idk if peacocks do it but you know how birds will rip out their own feathers under stress?
- Yeah That’s HIM😭
- Barbados just sit back and observe
- Even the season 3(?) characters come in early! Like you meet 13 as an extension of Solomon and y’all are thick as thieves
- You’re flourishing in your Magic practices bc you still have their pacts, them helping you with magic or not you’re still not one to be fucked with
- Mephistopheles is so giddy that you’re close to him and not Lucifer
- Offers to hide you in his news room to avoid them
- “It’s so quiet a perfect place to study!”
- Sees them scrambling to get ahold of you but your in his office w your phone on silent
- “Oh hmmm, idk I saw them in the forbidden section of the library maybe check there? Weird y’all supposed to be watching them and have no clue about their whereabouts.”
- Lucifer can take it NO LONGER when we’re about right before lesson 16 and he’s making a scene at dinner
- “Why do you never stay in this house? You a mere human think you’re too good to talk?”
- “That. That shit right there is why I don’t talk to any of you. Do you not notice how rude you are?”
- Before Satan can even say his “we’re demons” line you’re cutting his ass off
- “Why would I want to spend time around people who threaten my life for fun?🤨my job is to heal demon human relations and I’m doing that just not with the help of YOU.”
- Dips to purgatory hall bc it’s not Solomon’s night to cook
- They all just kinda 🧍🧍🧍🧍🧍🧍for a few days bc wtf can they say to that??
- Like you’re absolutely right
- You were already humbling Lucifer before but now he has this irrational anger towards you
- But in a nice way??
- He’s like packing your lunch and throwing away whatever you had
- Pushing you out the way to do whatever chore or task you’re doing
- Makes your favorite foods when is his turn to cook dinner
- Like he’s completely unhinged
- To stir the pot let’s say this is lesson 16 and they show up to all that
- Can you imagine??
- Their filled with even more regret than before!! They never got a chance to establish a deep bond with you
- Not really. Not like you have with everyone else
- And now you’re gone??
- They barely even care about the Lilith reveal like😭
- They do everything they can to win your favor but it’s like the end of the program now who’s to say it was enough??
- Beel is elated while the othered are broken that you and belphie become close
- Poor belphie is exhausted w all this drama so to make amends even more he goes out of his way to heal the gaps between you and the others so it’s all good now
- Not Lucifer tho
- He’s still moping
- Can’t hurt his pride by saying how glad he is that your back
- Can’t tell you how he watched his world fall apart when he saw the light leave your eyes
- DEFINITELY can’t tell you how he prayed to Lilith that he would protect you from now on and that he’s sorry
- All of RAD throws a huge goodbye party for you
- Lots of tears
- During the movie night of like that last few days
- As a little treat for you, you still sleep w Lucifer lmao
- Like you sneak out to go to the bathroom and none of the brother see you for the rest of the night?? Yeah we knew already
- He WILL cry jsyk
- He’s pressing kisses all over you and holding you like you’ll disappear
- Mumbling praises into your skin
- The most he’s ever said “I love you” in his entire existence
- Looking at you with teary eyes
- Can’t keep up his prideful façade
- He’s okay with being vulnerable to you
- Again hit him w the “my morning star”
- And he will go crazy
- Tears up when you leave
- Like he can’t even front like he’s not about to go throw up
- They’re all anxious that they won’t ever see you again because you still hate them
- I promise you on everything in all three realms
- They almost do NOT let you leave when you go
- “Thank you for my time here, I love all of you.”
- They are inconsolable

Challengers - Lunch? :)
Tumblr media
hello! challengers has been on my mind a lot lately, as I really enjoyed the movie + I absolutely love Mike Faist. I hope you enjoy this, I really tried to give some Tashi appreciation, as I feel in a lot of Fics, she ends up being the villain in some way. as a warning, there is one mention of Y/N - Hope you enjoy!
pairing: art x reader
Art Donaldson was many things. A tennis player, a Stanford student, but something he thought many people seemed to forget, was he was still a young boy. Among the time he spent at tennis training and in his classes, he felt as though he hardly had any time to catch up with Tashi or Patrick, or even a second to sit down and just breathe. Now, don’t get it twisted, Art doesn’t hate his classes, and he of course does hate tennis, but everyone needs a break occasionally. He wishes he was like Tashi, who seemed to enjoy the pressure, the time constraints, as though it helped her stay focused and on track.
Today, he and Tashi had decided to meet for lunch. Patrick was still on tour, and wasn’t expected to appear for a week or so. Art pushed open the doors to the cafeteria, ready to enjoy his well deserved break, when he noticed Tashi was not sitting alone. There was a girl, wearing a Stanford hoodie, sitting next to Tashi, as the two happily chatted. Art was a bit shocked, as he almost forgot that of course, Tashi had friends outside of him, Patrick and tennis. After realising he had been standing still in one spot for an embarrassing amount of time, he grabbed his food, 3 churros, and finally approached the table. It took Tashi a moment, but she turned, and smiled. “Art! Please, this is Y/N, she’s in one of my classes.” Art offered his hand to the girl, and she took it gently, shaking it almost with the effort of a sloth. At that moment, Art considered she may be the prettiest girl he had ever met. She wasn’t dressed stunningly, simply adorning the red Stanford hoodie, and a pair of flared leggings, but she had this air of peace and calm around her.
“So, how’d you and Tashi meet?” He posed the question in your direction, and you smiled shyly. “Well, really, it was at one of your tennis matches. I was watching in the stands, and Tashi came over, introduced herself, and we found out we shared a couple of classes.”
“So you’ve watched my games?” Art's face sported a cheeky smirk, one that felt teasing but an innocent nature behind it.
The hour flew by, and Art found himself at a state of enjoyment he hadn’t felt in weeks. Throughout the hour, he felt he had met someone who just got him. The conversation followed, with never a minute of uncomfortable silence. He learnt about your interests, what you were at Stanford for, and most importantly, your phone number.
As you went to stand up, he suddenly remembered the churro that had been laying on his tray. He grabbed your wrist gently, handing you the churro. His cheeks turned a light shade of pink as you smiled brightly, almost as though you held the essence of the sun in your face, giving him a kiss on the cheek before turning around.
He watched you leave the cafeteria, his eyes not leaving your form until the red of your hoodie disappeared around the corner.
“Glad you enjoyed yourself.” Tashi grabbed her tray, as her and Art approached the bins. Tashi had a glint in her eye, and it took Art a minute to realise she had done this on purpose. “You know, when it’s your wedding day, I’ll be expecting a thank you.” Tashi let the comment flow from her lips as she grabbed her racket and made her way towards the courts.
Art was at a stand still in the middle of the cafeteria, looking at his phone, feeling like a teenage boy again. He stared at your number, lightly shaking his head, before smiling genuinely.
That night, he pulled up your number, shooting you a text that simply stated
“Lunch? :)”

In Eddie’s defense, he shouldn’t have been expected to bring a jacket. Not when Steve didn’t tell him where they were going or when he sent Eddie spiraling into a pit of pining by showing up at his doorstep with a white shirt tucked into a pair of tight blue jeans and a black jacket thrown on top, looking like he stepped out of Eddie’s dreams.
Now that he thinks about it, Steve might’ve told him to grab a jacket, but Eddie was too busy picking his jaw off the floor to listen to him.
When he stepped out of the trailer and followed Steve to his car, Eddie felt a light chill in the air, but since he assumed Steve was taking them to the movies or for dinner at that diner he likes, he figured the flannel he was wearing over his Metallica singlet would be enough to withstand it.
Eddie doesn’t know exactly when this became a thing they did- Steve picking him up and taking him to dinner or a movie or ice cream or roller skating.
(That last one was Eddie’s least favorite one because he spent half the time they were there falling on his ass. Or maybe it wasn’t, because the other half was spent holding on to Steve’s hand as he guided Eddie around the rink and helped him keep his balance.)
Eddie still can’t help but feel surprised whenever Steve turns up at his door, even if it happens multiple times a week these days. He knows this is what friends do, but maybe it’s still just a little hard to believe that he’s friends with Steve Harrington.
(“You make it sound like I’m some kind of celebrity, man,” Steve said the first time Eddie voiced his shock about him wanting to spend time with Eddie.
“Dude, you are the king of Hawkins! You are a celebrity!” Eddie said, dramatically shaking Steve’s shoulders which earned him a mighty eye roll and a playful shove. “And celebrities don’t want to spend time with freaks like me.”
Steve’s face softened at that, he bumped Eddie’s shoulder with his. “Well, this one does.”)
Eddie knows Steve is being genuine every time he says he wants to hang out, but a part of him always expects Steve to get tired of him and ditch Eddie, and start taking a nice pretty girl on these outings instead.
(“Dates, they’re dates,” Max deadpanned after hearing Eddie ramble about Steve for roughly ten minutes straight. She’d clocked Eddie’s feelings for Steve right away when he came back from the roller rink with his backside bruised, but still with a dopey smile on his face to Max waiting for him at the steps of his trailer. “Steve Harrington is taking you out on dates!”
“He’s not, they’re not dates,” Eddie said with a firm shake of his head.
“Dude, Lucas literally took me to the roller rink last week.”
“Aw, cute. Did he hold your hand?”
“I held his, I skate, remember? And for a jock, he’s got terrible balance,” she says, lips twitching into a little smile. “Not as bad as yours though.”
“Hey!”)
Even if Max insists on calling them dates, Eddie won’t. He can’t. He knows Steve doesn’t see them that way so he can’t do it either, not if he wants to protect his heart.
So he ignores that Steve opens the door to his car for him like he would if this was a real date and he ignores that he lets Eddie pick the music or that he keeps a few of Eddie’s tapes in his car for him to choose from, even if they’re not at all what he likes, and he ignores the way he keeps glancing at Eddie at stop signs or red lights with a sweet little smile that makes his stomach swoop like when he went through the gate to the Upside Down did, only better.
Or he tries to ignore it, at least.
“Soooo where are we going?” Eddie asks, contorting himself so he can sit cross-legged in Steve’s passenger seat after picking the music for the ride.
Steve bops his head to the beginning of a Dio song and Eddie can’t help but feel proud.
“It’s a surprise,” he says.
Eddie groans. “Is this surprise also going to end up with me not being able to sit properly for a week?” He only realizes how that sounds when Steve’s head snaps to him, eyebrows high on his forehead. God. “You know cause I kept falling on my ass at the roller rink, not because- uh.”
He doesn’t know how to finish the sentence, but luckily Steve spares him. With a soft laugh, he says, “Don’t worry, you won’t have trouble sitting after tonight.” Then Steve smirks, the little shit. “From falling on your ass- or some other reason.”
Eddie flushes bright red.
He lowers the window and shivers when the cold air hits his face, but the wind helps cool down his flushed cheeks so he leaves it open. He notices that instead of driving them downtown, Steve is driving them further out.
“I’m not gonna have trouble sitting ‘cause you’re luring me into the woods to murder me? Is that it?”
“And why would I want to murder you?” Steve asks, pinching the bridge of his nose like entertaining Eddie’s nonsense causes him physical pain.
The wind blows Eddie’s hair away from his face. “Maybe you’re jealous of my luscious hair.” He hopes the wind makes him look like one of those cover shoots on the magazines that he sees at the store, but realistically, he knows he probably looks like a dog sticking his head out the window. “My naturally beautiful hair that doesn’t need any Farrah Fawcett spray.”
Steve narrows his eyes at Eddie. “That little shit told you!”
Eddie grins. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Yes, you do. Dustin told you, didn’t he?”
“I won’t reveal my sources,” he says, pretending to zip up his lips.
“You don’t have to, you dork. Dustin is the only one I told.” He pauses, thinking. “Maybe I am committing murder tonight.”
“Mine?”
“Henderson’s. And then yours so the secret dies with you.” He glances at Eddie with a smile. “And maybe because I am a little jealous of your beautiful hair.” His voice is a little too soft to sound like a joke.
Eddie gives him a shy smile and then flicks his hair over his shoulder with a dramatic flare. Steve laughs, head thrown back, as they drive past the Leaving Hawkins sign.
***
Steve drives them to the top of a hill just outside of Hawkins.
Eddie’s first thought when Steve parks his car next to a little forest is that maybe he’s actually planning to murder him tonight.
His second thought comes when Steve opens Eddie’s door and a gust of wind hits Eddie, making him realize that no, his flannel won’t be enough. He’s going to freeze his ass off so even if Steve doesn’t murder him, Eddie will die anyway.
His third thought comes when Steve takes hold of his wrist and drags him out of the car and towards a cliff overlooking most of Hawkins.
Eddie voices that thought with an appreciative whistle.
“Holy shit, that’s a killer view.”
“Right?” Steve asks with a grin. His fingers are still wrapped around Eddie’s wrist and he can feel the way he’s bouncing excitedly from one foot to the other.
“Yeah, wow. You wouldn’t think that Hawkins is a shit town from up here,” Eddie says, taking in not only the night lights, but the stars above them too, shining brighter than Eddie has ever seen them.
“Yeah, it almost looks normal, no monsters or alternate dimensions.”
“No hordes of angry town people who want to burn you at the stake.”
Steve gives Eddie’s wrist a comforting squeeze. He glances at the ground. “No shitty parents calling you a disappointment and an embarrassment,” he says, voice barely above a whisper.
Eddie frowns. He shakes his hand until Steve loosens his hold, but before he can retreat it into his pocket because he thinks Eddie is trying to get him to let go, he tangles his fingers loosely with Steve’s. “They came back tonight?”
Steve stares down at their hands, his thumb rubs over one of Eddie’s rings. “Yeah, and they managed to pick a fight within five minutes of walking through the door. Must be some kind of record.”
Eddie squeezes his hand. “I’m sorry, Steve.”
With a sigh, Steve finally looks up. “It’s not your fault, and besides-” He smiles at Eddie. “I didn’t bring you here to talk about them.”
Eddie narrows his eyes at him. “What did you bring me here for?”
Steve’s smile turns into a grin, he drops Eddie’s hand and starts walking backward toward the car. “Wait here.”
“You better not be abandoning me to die here!”
He gets no reply. Eddie squints at him as he rummages through the trunk of his car but it’s a little hard to see clearly in the dark. He wraps his arms around himself while he waits, feeling colder by the second, and resists the urge to ask Steve if he has an extra jacket lying around. It’ll send him into Mother Hen mode and he’ll start fussing about Eddie catching something and probably scold him for not bringing his own jacket.
So he acts as nonchalant as possible about the cold when Steve comes back, hiding something behind his back that Eddie can’t see.
“I didn’t bring you here to murder you or abandon you. I brought you here to have a picnic with me.” As he says this, he shows Eddie what he was holding behind his back- a checkered blanket and a goddamn picnic basket.
Eddie blinks dumbly at the two items and then at Steve, mouth gaping like a fish. “A picnic?”
Steve nods a little shyly. “Um yeah, is that okay?”
Eddie lets out a disbelieving laugh. A fucking picnic under the stars- oh, Max is going to have a field trip teasing Eddie about this one!
He realizes that Steve might be taking his reaction the wrong way when he starts to fidget so Eddie wipes the surprise from his face and grins at Steve. “Depends on what you packed in there, big boy.”
A high-pitched laughter tumbles out of Steve’s lips and even with just the moonlight he can see his cheeks tint pink. “Well, do you like grilled cheese?”
***
Eddie makes grabby hands at the basket. Once Steve spreads the blanket on the ground, he flops down and starts digging through the contents.
There’s grilled cheese wrapped in tin foil paper, two bags of chips, two sodas, and a big serving of pie. Eddie’s mouth waters.
“So,” Steve asks, wrapping his arms around his knees. “What do you think?”
“I think,” Eddie pauses, thinking. “That I don’t care if you murder me as long as you let me eat this first.”
“You’re so annoying,” Steve snorts, rolling his eyes.
“If I’m so annoying,” Eddie says, neatly arranging the food between them on the blanket, or as best as he can on the uneven ground. “Then why did you go through all this trouble for little ol’ me?”
Steve bites the inside of his cheek. He looks like he wants to say something, but then changes his mind, only to part his lips again. The look in his eyes betrays nothing, no matter how much Eddie tries to read it. Despite the cold, Eddie’s hands start to sweat a little.
But then Steve shakes his head and looks down, picking up his grilled cheese. When he looks back at Eddie again, his eyes are soft, crinkling at the corners, but whatever he saw in them before is now gone. “Let’s eat before it gets cold, okay?”
After the first bite, Eddie discovers that Steve must be some kind of grilled cheese genius. When he tells Steve this, he waves it off with a shy smile, but he seems pleased.
They talk in between bites of food, or in Eddie’s case, through mouthfuls of melted cheese. The whole time, Eddie tries to ignore the chill in the air, but every gust of wind reminds him he’s only wearing a singlet under a very thin flannel and neither does much to protect him from the cold. Still, he does his best to hide his shivering from Steve, but it’s a little hard to do when Steve won’t take his eyes off of him for some reason.
Right now, he’s staring almost unblinkingly at Eddie with his legs crossed at the ankles and his arms wrapped around his knees, a soft smile painted on his lips as Eddie tells him how excited he and the kids are about the next Hellfire meeting.
“You’re always excited about your nerdy game,” Steve smirks.
“Fair, but this time it’s different because the kids finally convinced Max to play!”
Steve’s eyebrows shoot up his forehead. “How did they manage that?”
“Well, they didn’t convince her so much as they tricked her into it.”
“Yeah, that makes more sense.”
“But! It doesn’t matter cause she’s going to love it so much she’ll beg to join again! I’ve been working on her character sheet to make it perfect for her and I got her this cool set of dice- red dice, of course, cause her character will be called Ruby. Ruby the Rebel.”
Steve’s smile turns impossibly softer at Eddie’s excited rambling. “That sounds just as cool as her. What kind of- uh like, what’s her-”
“Class?” Eddie asks, stomach swooping a little at Steve trying to remember things about their nerdy game so he can ask Eddie. Steve nods. “Oh, she’s a-” He cuts himself off when a cool breeze stirs beneath his flannel and he shivers with a curse. “Jesus H. Christ!”
Steve startles and his head whips in different directions, looking out for danger. “What?”
“Sorry, nothing! It’s just really cold! Sorry!”
Steve relaxes, then frowns. Narrowed eyes travel over Eddie’s body. “Wait, where’s your jacket?”
“Uh.”
“Did you leave it in the car?”
“More like, left it at home?” Steve’s face turns pinched. “You didn’t tell me where we were going, I didn’t know I would need a jacket!”
“Yes, you did, I told you to bring one!” Steve says, exasperated.
Oh. So Steve did tell him to bring a jacket. Huh.
“Here,” Steve says and then starts shrugging off his jacket.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m giving you my jacket, obviously.” He removes it completely and Eddie gives himself a second to commit to memory just how tight Steve’s white shirt is. It’s also thin. Eddie shakes his head.
“But you’ll be cold.”
“I won’t.” He shrugs. “I run hot.”
“You’re hot,” Eddie says and realizes too late that his brain-to-mouth filter must’ve been damaged by the cold. “I mean you look hot, like you don’t look cold.”
Steve bites down on a grin. “Take the jacket before you catch something, Eds.”
“O-kay, mom Steve.” He accepts the jacket, and when he puts it on, he can’t help but sigh happily. It’s warm from Steve’s body heat. It also smells just like him. “Thanks.”
“No problem.” Steve smiles. “Now, what were you saying?” He asks and it takes Eddie a minute to remember what they were talking about, distracted as he is by Steve’s warmth and smell surrounding him.
***
“Do you ever think about leaving Hawkins?”
Eddie jerks his head back, out of the basket where he was looking for the forks that Steve packed for the pie. “Uh, like, every day of my life, man.”
“Because of Vecna?”
“No, long before that.” Eddie finds the fork. Singular. “You only packed one, Stevie, but I can just use my fingers.” He wiggles them and Steve shakes his head.
“We can share,” he says. Alarms go off in Eddie’s head at the thought of passing the fork back and forth between them, sharing the slice of pie. He hasn’t been to that many dates in his life, but sharing dessert sounds a lot like a date thing.
“Sure,” he says, shrugging casually. Steve takes the first bite and hands it to Eddie. “Anyway, yeah. I always knew I wanted to leave. Knowing that there’s an alternate dimension at our feet that could pop up the next monster at any second only made the urge stronger, but. Gotta graduate first.”
“Where will you go? When you graduate?”
“I don’t know. Some big city with a cool music scene, maybe. I can join a band that’s actually going somewhere.” He snorts. “No offense to Corroded Coffin.”
Steve chuckles. “I’ve always thought you belong in some big city.”
“Yeah?” Eddie asks with an arched eyebrow.
“Yeah, dude, you’ve always seemed- I don’t know, too big for Hawkins,” he says with an awed tone. Eddie’s throat feels dry, he skips the next bite of pie, giving it back to Steve. “Like you should be somewhere with people as loud and talented and great as you.”
Eddie swallows thickly. His eyes haven’t left Steve’s face, but Steve isn’t looking at him, instead he’s staring ahead at Hawkins or maybe like he’s trying to see even further than that. Eddie’s glad he’s not looking at him, he doesn’t even know what his face is doing right now, listening to Steve talk about him like that, there’s probably hearts in his eyes or something.
“I- I’ve always wanted to go to New York,” Eddie says to break the silence. Steve hums like he thinks it’s a good idea. “What about you, Steve? Do you think about leaving?”
“Sometimes. I- I’ve actually been saving up money to go to college. Nothing prestigious like Nance or Robin, just community college maybe.”
“That’s great, Steve,” Eddie says.
“But I don’t think I can leave until I know it’s over, you know? The Upside Down, especially if the kids are still going to be here.”
“Yeah, I’ve thought about that. Kinda makes you want to steal another RV, pack them all up and leave Hawkins for good.”
Steve meets his eyes finally. He smiles. “Yeah, exactly.”
“I think we could do it,” Eddie says, entertaining the thought for a moment.
“You don’t think we’d end up in jail? For grand theft auto and kidnapping children?”
“Shh, let a guy dream, Harrington.”
“Okay, okay,” Steve says, holding up his hands in defense. “You know I haven’t told anyone about saving up for college. Just you.”
“Not even Buckley?”
Steve shakes his head. “I already failed once trying to get in. I don’t want anyone to know that I’ve failed again. I don’t want to disappoint anyone.”
Eddie thinks about what Steve said when they got here, about the fight with his parents, about them calling Steve a disappointment. “You could never disappoint me. Or Buckley or the kids. We all worship the ground you walk on, King Steve.”
“Shut up,” Steve says with a lighthearted shove to Eddie’s shoulder. “You don’t.”
“We do! Because we know just how good and badass you are, and whoever can’t see that is a butthead.”
“Are you calling my parents buttheads?” Steve asks with a barely concealed snort.
“That’s exactly what I’m doing!” He puts his hands around his mouth and yells. “The Harringtons are buttheads!”
Steve breaks into giggles, falling back against the blanket, squirming with laughter. “You’re ridiculous.”
“Yeah, but you love it,” Eddie says without thinking, and watches as something flashes across Steve’s face.
Before he can backtrack or brush it off as a joke, Steve sits up again, his jaw set with determination.
“The fight with my parents was because of you,” he says. And okay, that’s not what Eddie was expecting.
“Me?”
“They came home just as I was packing this up.” He gestures at the picnic basket. “I didn’t hear them come in until they came into the kitchen. They thought I was doing all of this for a girl so they started going off about me wasting my life and everything that they worked so hard to give me just to go on dates and work at a goddamn video store. They told me that it didn’t matter how much I tried, this girl was going to realize I was a failure and leave me. I don’t know what made me more angry- what they were saying about me or that they were talking about you like they knew you.” Steve pauses and takes a deep breath. “So I snapped and I told them I wasn’t packing all of that for a girl, that I was doing it for you. A guy. And that you would never leave me because I work at a video store or because our dates consist of grilled cheese sandwiches and roller skating and babysitting kids. And I guess that was a little presumptuous of me since we never really agreed that these were dates and I don’t even know if you-”
“Yes,” Eddie says when he finally finds his voice. He lost it somewhere around Steve calling this, and all the things they’ve been doing together for weeks, dates.
Steve blinks, his lips press together like he’s trying to stop himself from smiling, from getting ahead of himself. “You don’t know what I was going to say.”
Eddie rolls his eyes. “What were you going to say?”
“That I don’t even know if you feel the same way I feel for you.”
“Yes.” Eddie repeats. “Holy fuck, Steve, yes I do.”
Steve stops trying to hide his smile. He beams at Eddie. “Yeah? You’re crazy about me too?”
Eddie whines low in his throat. “Steve.”
Steve pushes himself to his knees and then he closes the distance between them by crawling towards Eddie. “Are you?”
“Yes.”
“You can’t stop thinking about me and you want to listen to me talk all day about nerdy shit too?” Steve asks, crowding against Eddie until he has no choice but to lean back until he’s lying down on the blanket and Steve is hovering over him.
“Sports shit but yeah, yes.”
Steve leans down until his lips are right next to Eddie’s ear. “You want to kiss me too?” Eddie shivers, and this time, it’s not because of the cold. He’s never felt warmer in his entire life.
“Yes,” he says. “Please, Steve.”
Steve closes the distance between them and crashes his lips against Eddie’s, kissing him hard and desperately, drawing a whimper out of him. Eddie kisses back with just as much enthusiasm, his hands coming up to grip Steve’s waist, his shoulders, his arms.
His freezing arms.
“Christ, Steve!”
“What? What?” Steve asks, pulling back just enough so that Eddie can see his face- flushed with parted, swollen lips and blown pupils.
And oh. Yeah. Eddie needs to see Steve looking like this again soon. Preferably when he’s not freezing to death.
“You’re freezing, man. Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I was a little busy,” Steve smirks.
Eddie shakes his head. “I’m giving you your jacket back,” he says, squirming as he tries to shrug off the jacket with Steve still on top of him.
“No, Eds-”
“Then we’re going to the car.”
“But I can’t kiss you like this in the car,” Steve pouts and the sight of a pouty Steve because he wants to straddle Eddie and kiss him stupid shouldn’t make him consider staying out here in the cold, but it does. Just for a moment.
“You can, if we climb in the backseat, baby,” Eddie says with a sly grin.
Steve’s eyes widen, his eyes flick to the car and then to Eddie’s lips and Eddie sees the moment he makes a decision. “Yeah, okay. Maybe I am a little cold. Let’s go.”
They pick up the trash and the blanket in record time, even while stealing short, giggly kisses.
“I can’t believe we’ve been on so many dates and you haven’t even asked me out once!” Eddie says, balling up the tin foil paper and throwing it at Steve’s face. He throws his head back with a groan. “I can’t believe Max was right!”
Steve raises an eyebrow. “You talk to Max about me? Your fifteen-year-old neighbor?”
Eddie arches an eyebrow right back. “Oh, so you don’t talk to Dustin, your fifteen-year-old best friend about me?”
“Of course I do,” Steve sniggers. “He’s the one who told me you can’t roller skate to save your life.”
“Then why did you take me to the roller rink?” Eddie asks with an undignified squeak, feeling the phantom pain of his many falls.
“So I could do this-” Steve takes hold of Eddie’s hands, tangling their fingers together, “-all night.”
Eddie flushes, looking down at their hands with a smile. “That was a good plan, I’ll give you that.”
He rubs his thumb over Eddie’s knuckles. “I have more where that came from.”
The touch makes Eddie’s insides flutter, he pulls a strand of hair across his face with his free hand, but Steve can probably still see his red cheeks. “Yeah?”
“Mhm,” Steve hums. He crowds against Eddie until his back hits the car, pinning him against it. “And I can show you. If you agree to go on a date with me.” Steve’s free hand plays with the lapel of his jacket on Eddie. “Officially, I mean.”
Eddie grins. “I thought you’d never ask,” he says, pressing a quick kiss to the corner of Steve’s mouth.
Then he’s dragging him into the backseat, and for the rest of the night, neither of them feels cold again.

AITA for "forcing" my best friend to break up with his boyfriend?
🧸
I (22 cis m) and my best friend 'A' (21 ftm) have been friends since we were 10 years old and I love him more than anything. He’s genuinely the sweetest, most thoughtful, and funniest person I’ve ever met. He means everything to me and we’ve been there for each other through the hardest times of our lives so far and I plan on staying until the end.
It’s always been us two. Btw, everyone mentioned here uses he/him pronouns exclusively.
A has been with his boyfriend (21 cis m) for about 2 years now, and from what he told me, things were going great. Even if I’m not too fond of his boyfriend. A few days ago, we got pretty drunk at a friend’s housewarming party. A and I live together, and as soon as we got home, he suddenly started rambling about how he wishes his boyfriend cared about him the same way I do.
Legit felt like I was in some dumb romance movie for a moment there. I felt a little uneasy and asked him to elaborate. In short, his boyfriend essentially treats him like a doll instead of a person with real emotions. He feels as though his boyfriend just uses him to get his daily fix of physical affection and sex, that’s it. The only positive thing his boyfriend can say about A is that he’s cute, which boggles my mind. It’s true but there’s so much more to him as a human being.
A is an incredibly talented artist, super kind, super emotionally intelligent, and has a plethora of interests he loves to infodump about. I’m trying my hardest not to make this entire post about how amazing he is. He’s helped multiple friends clean their depression apartments and took them out to get fresh groceries etc. because it’s basic decency to him. He has such a big heart and holds so much love in it for everyone in his life. Being around him is just so easy and makes life worth living.
He’s just an incredible person all around and every single person that has him in their life recognizes that, except his boyfriend. They’ve had issues in the past because they’re not sexually compatible, which led to some miscommunication and made A feel like he was coerced into things he didn’t want to do. He just did them to make his boyfriend happy. He does a lot of things for his boyfriend, actually. He’s constantly buying little gifts, remembering what he likes, and plans cute dates for them to go on. His boyfriend does none of these things.
I want to mention that A has bpd and avpd. He has an intense fear of rejection and will do everything in his power to appease others so they won’t leave him. I always take the time to reassure him that I love him for who he is and not what he can give me. Basically just making sure he feels loved. Keep in mind, his boyfriend is aware of this but he just gets annoyed when A seeks reassurance from him. His behavior has made my blood boil several times in the past already, but I always kept it to myself for A’s sake. If I was vocal about disliking his boyfriend, it probably would’ve caused A a lot of distress and emotional turmoil.
Still, I don’t think this relationship is healthy for A and I know him well enough to know he wont break it off on his own. It’s just his combo of personality disorders that makes it impossible for him. I told him about my concerns and he agreed, but said he feels bad for his boyfriend since he apparently doesn’t have any friends outside of A. From my POV, it just looks like his boyfriend knows A is out of his league and is grasping at straws to make A stay with him out of pity.
This is where I might be the asshole. I got a little frustrated and raised my voice, which I severely regret. I don’t want to blame it on the alcohol but it definitely had a hand in it. I finally told him about all these grievances I have about his boyfriend, how much I dislike him and how A deserves so much better, etc.. At one point, I essentially gave him an ultimatum. It’s me or his boyfriend. I didn’t really mean it, it was just a heat of the moment thing I spat out. I would never leave him like that.
A started crying and begged me to calm down, at which point I realized how shitty I was being and immediately began apologizing. We hugged, I comforted him, and we spent the rest of the night cuddling and talking about how he could approach the breakup.
Now that I’ve sobered up I feel like absolute shit. I know it’s not my place to tell A what to do with his romantic relationships, even if I’m his best friend. Plus, I want to be 100% honest here and say I might have romantic feelings for A. I think I have for a long time, but I always wrote it off as intense platonic love. So I may be biased in this whole conversation about his boyfriend.
I didn’t say these things because of that. I genuinely think his boyfriend is a huge dick and full of shit, no matter how sweet and loving he pretends to be. It’s all in the way he treats A. He’s one of those guys that paint their nails (nothing wrong with that but you know the kind of guy I’m talking about), pretend to be feminists, and steal their romantic partner’s personality to seem cooler. He even asked A to stop taking testosterone because he didn’t like how hairy A was getting or some shit like that.
He’s pansexual but has only ever dated girls and started dating A before A began medically transitioning. There’s obviously nothing wrong with that and changes nothing about the fact that he’s pansexual, he just pisses me off when he criticizes A for being 'too masculine'. You can have a preference for feminine people but don’t make that shit your partner’s problem when they just want to pass.
I feel like A’s boyfriend just thought A would always stay the smooth, baby-faced twink he was before going on testosterone and now makes him feel guilty for looking like a grown man. Some people don’t know how to appreciate hairy tummies.
Sorry for making this so long but I just want to be as honest and informative as possible to get proper opinions on the issue. A is now dead set on breaking things off because he now knows that I actively despise his boyfriend and he always puts my opinion above everyone else’s.
Was I in the wrong for doing this or am I just protecting my best friend? I’m glad he intends on ending things but I feel a bit like a conniving snake considering everything. It feels like I’m taking advantage of his mental state even if I’m not doing it consciously.

Tattooed Hearts VIII
Tumblr media
Genre: No one to someone Tattoo artist! Jungkook X Reader
Summary: What happened to us? Why did we end up like this? It was only a one time thing. Now it’s ruined us both.
Warnings: fluff, angst, smut, mentions of hookups, insults, arguing, blood, mentions of period, insecurities
Pt I • Pt II • Pt III • Pt IV • Pt V • Pt VI • Pt VII *** Love was something that no one could control. It was a great thing. Pain was part of love and no one could stop that either. For me, pain was a big part of my love life. Learning what works for you is big; knowing your limits and what your boundaries are. For me, it was hookups. Those were the devil to me. After sleeping with Jungkook and not being able to eat or sleep without thinking of him is when I knew I fucked up. I should’ve known that it was a one time thing, nothing more than a quick fuck. But seeing him show up in front of me, begging for another chance, was what set me off.
About a month passed, Jungkook continuously bringing you flowers and taking you out on nice dates. Not once, not a single time, did he try to make out with you or touch you inappropriately. He was genuinely trying his best for you. So one night when he was dropping you off at your apartment, he did the usual. He smiled, waved you off and made sure you made it safely into your apartment before putting his helmet back on. You were the one that made the move, walking back to him.
“Did you forget something?” He asked you, holding his helmet at his side, about to check the compartment on the back of his bike. He was silenced by you pulling him down to connect your lips. Your lips were gently touching, not some rough and sloppy kiss. It was a slow and sensual kiss.
You pulled away gently, letting your noses brush against each others. “You taste like cherries…” you whispered, not wanting to disrupt the calm environment around the two of you. His strong hands held your waist carefully, fearing that if he did something too suddenly, he would scare you off.
He chuckled and lowered his head to lean his forehead on your shoulder. “You like watermelon juice, yet your favourite lip balm is cherry flavoured. How does that make sense?” He teased you, dragging his hands up and down your sides slowly.
“You know that…?” It was clear from your wide eyes that you were shocked he still remembered that. When had he even noticed you put on cherry lip balm?
“It was the lip balm you put on after our hookup. It was also the lip balm you put on when you came by the tattoo parlour, AND it was the lip balm I saw in your bag at Mrs Eloise’s flower shop. I notice these things, I notice everything that you love.” He whispered, pulling you a little closer.
Your cheeks flushed a bright red, turning your head away and clearing your throat. Pulling away, you felt the sudden loss of warmth from him, “I should…I should go up now…” Your voice held some sort of dissatisfaction, not liking that you had to leave now.
He nodded, letting go of you with slight hesitation. “I had fun. I’ll see you later…” He put his helmet on and got on his bike, watching you walk into your apartment building. Once you were out of sight, he turned on his bike, feeling a vibration in his pocket.
My Girl: Next date is at my place. Friday, 7pm. Don’t be late.
He chuckled, placing his phone back into his pocket. The excitement he felt in his chest was unmatched, not being able to wait for Friday.
*** When Friday came, you had set up your living room with a movie. I mean, what's better than a movie date? The answer is nothing. It was all set up perfectly; popcorn, blankets, random candies you had found in the corner store down the street, and the most important thing...a movie! You hadn't heard of this movie, so it was interesting to see what it would be about.
You were pulled out of your thoughts when the doorbell was rung to your apartment. You stood up, walking across the threshold to answer the door. To say your breath was taken when you saw Jungkook was an understatement, you felt as if your soul had been taken. He stood there tall, nothing but a tight white shirt that showed off all his delicious muscles and tattoo sleeve on his right arm. And god, the pants...his pants were tight, hugging his thighs the best way possible, not to mention the noticeable bulge his crotch made.
You looked up at him, taking a deep breath before opening the door wider so he could come in. "You're on time." You said shakily, closing the door when he came into your apartment completely.
He chuckled deeply, "I wouldn't miss this for the world." He smiled down at you, running a hand through his hair. "Looks like you prepared everything already."
"Of course I did! Why would I invite you over if nothing would be ready?" You asked quietly, walking further into your apartment, plopping down onto the couch.
"Maybe you wanted to see me early so you'd have more time with me."
"When have I ever wanted more time with you?"
"How about when you kissed me and wouldn't let my jacket go?" He cocked a brow, "Don't think I didn't notice that."
His comment made your cheeks burn, turning away you patted the cushion beside you. "Just come over here so we can watch the movie..."
His laugh was like music to your ears, he walked over and sat beside you. Once you were both comfortable, you grabbed the remote and pressed play. As mentioned earlier, movie dates were the best. One, they were calming and two, you got to cuddle with your partner...or possible partner. Your back was pressed against his chest, his arm draped over your waist, your ass pressing into his straining cock. When you felt how hard he was, you stiffened, not wanting to say anything. His hand calmly and gently traced circles onto your clothed side, allowing you to relax into him as the movie kept playing. He could feel that you were on edge from being able to feel his hard-on. You should've done your research on the movie before picking it, not knowing it was a horror movie. As time passed, all the movie got scarier and scarier, Jungkook having no reaction to it. Sadly, you were the only one jumping. Your wide eyes were hooked onto the screen, breath getting staggered as your heart pounded against your chest. One of the jump scares making you nearly jump out of your own skin.
"Are you even watching?" You ask, your voice was just barely a whisper.
"I am." He muttered, his voice deep with a hint of...need?
It wasn't helping that you were getting turned on by the feeling of his hard-on pressing against your ass. You turned a little to look at him, he made eye contact with you, gliding his tongue against his bottom lip. You felt his hand go to the hem of your pants, fingertips just barely going under. "Stop it..." You said breathlessly.
"Stop what?" You knew that voice, even if it had been a long time, you knew that voice. He was needy. And so were you.
"You know what...Lindsay could come at any moment." It was still intoxicating.
His nose nuzzles into the back of your neck, "If you want me to stop, just say the word and I will..."
But nothing came out of your mouth, you wanted this. Needed this. Carved this. When he wasn't told to stop, his hand gripped your jaw and forced you to face the screen, "Watch the movie." He growled.
Bad idea, as soon as you looked back, some bloody creature popped up on the screen, making you scream and shrink back into him. Jungkook groaned, feeling your ass dig into his cock, almost blinding him with pleasure and need. His fingers went under the rim of your pants, caressing your soft thighs, causing you to shift with desire from his touch.
"Jungkook..."You plead quietly, asking for something you weren't even sure that you knew what you were asking for.
"This may not end well for you..." Jungkook mused.
"Why?" You asked, slightly hesitant while asking the question.
"You'll have cum leaking down your thighs when I'm done with you." He hummed, reaching forward to play with the lining of your panties.
He pushed your panties aside, his fingers softly brushing against your folds, reveling in the wetness gathering on his fingers. He kept his touches light, depriving you of any true pleasure.
"Jungkook." You bite, your voice more demanding and needy. But all he did was smile, refusing to give you anything else at the moment.
"Keep your eyes on the screen, Y/N, do not make me tell you again." That made your eyes snap to the screen, a gasp being pulled from your lips as you watched the creature slash a person.
Your pussy pulsed, juices gushing from your slit and over his fingers. Jungkook groaned, fighting the urge to plunge his fingers deep into your pussy and feel you pussy clench as you cum all over him. His tongue darted out, licking along your neck and inhaling your intoxicating scent. You tasted so fucking delicious to him. His mouth watered with the need to lap up the arousal soaking his hand. Giving in to your internal plea, he swirls his fingertip over your clit, giving you just enough pleasure to make you lean your head back with bliss. A scream from the movie made her look up again on full alert.
"L-Lindsay could come in..." You croaked, his actions steady and firm. When he pinches your clit, you release a sexy moan from your parted lips.
"Does that make your pussy wet? Hm?" He asked, continuing to rub your clit with his fingers. "Does knowing your friend could come into your apartment at any moment and see you writhing on my fingers turn you on?"
You shook your head, clearly lying as he felt you get wetter by the second. "Having someone see you with my fingers deep in your pussy," He emphasizes his point by pressing his middle finger into you, "It makes you wanna cum all over my fingers, doesn't it, baby?"
He adds a second finger, fucking you in quick and hard strokes. Your breath quickens, moans heightening in pitch as you get closer to an orgasm. His eyes go back and forth between his hand in your pants and your face, loving the sounds falling from your lips. Mid-stroke, he withdrew his fingers and grabbed your jaw with his other hand. He gave you a quick slap to your pussy, enjoying the sudden cry that left your lips as he did so.
"What did I say, baby?" His voice was like honey, but had a secret dark undertone to it.
"W-watch the movie...?" You responded, biting your bottom lip as you turned to look back at the screen.
"Were you even listening?" Jungkook growled, absolutely refusing to touch your needy pussy.
"N-no...I'm sorry..." Something about the apology didn't sound right, why were you apologizing? To keep away the thoughts of confusion and sudden sober-ism from having his fingers out of you, he pushed them back inside of you.
"This sweet little pussy is so needy for my fingers, isn't it? Do you feel how tight you're gripping me? It's so hard to pull them out of you so I can fuck you so good."
You whined and whimpered, nails digging into his bicep. The sting from your nails didn't phase him, his free hand reaching up to your neck. He squeezes firmly, increasing his pace and firmly rubbing your clit. "Jungkook!" You scream, pussy clenching so tightly that he can barely move his fingers anymore.
Your back arches and your head leans back, not caring about watching the movie anymore. You sob loudly as his fingers kept thrusting in and out of you, helping you ride out your orgasm until your whole body is shaking and you're trying to pull his hand away. He gently eased his fingers out of you, feeling you shiver from the loss of being filled. Licking the juices from his fingers, he makes eye contact with you, ensuring you were watching him. When his fingers were clean, he pushed himself up, grabbing your hand to pull you up as well. Once he was standing, he picked you up bridal style, carrying you to your room and placing you on the bed. His breathing was heavy as he looked at you from a distance.
"This is your one chance, Y/N." His voice was rough and deep, deeper than I remembered it to be. "Your one chance to make this choice. The only time I'll let you say no to me. After this, you're mine."
You felt as if your heart would beat through your ribs as you looked up at him. Your mouth opened, slight dread coursing through Jungkook's body as he thought you were going to say no. But instead, you begged. "I wanna be touched. I want you."
A smirk pulls at the corner of his lips, "Strip for me."
"St-? W-what?" You couldn't believe how hot he sounded.
"Come on, sweet girl, don't make me repeat myself. I want to see all of you." Every word flowing out of his mouth goes straight down to your core again. Making you wetter than ever before.
You stripped slowly, almost excruciatingly slow. You stripped until you were in your bra and panties. "Off, Y/N. Show me those tits, baby." It sounded as if he was angry, but you knew he was far from it.
When you were fully undressed, he slowly approached you, like a predator does its prey. He walks until he is pressing his legs against yours. "I'm not going to be gentle. I'm not making love to you tonight, I'm going to fuck you. Show you just how much I've missed this. How much I've missed you."
His lips wrap around one of your nipples when he leans down, a soft gasp leaving you lips as you grasp onto his shoulders. His teeth scrape against your hard nipple, sucking hard. He pushes you to lay you down, climbing on top of you. His fingers make their way down to your slit again, seamlessly gliding over your entrance. He sits on his heels, quickly shedding all of his clothes, coming back down to you. When he presses your legs open, you let him, too overstimulated to even try and fight.
"That's my girl." He groaned into your ear, moving your foot out of the way so he could see your glistening pussy from your wetness. "Fuck...so wet I can see it." He swiped two fingers over your pussy, rubbing those same two fingers over his painfully hard cock. He strokes himself a few times, eyes trained on your sex. He reached down and spread you more, "Such a pretty pussy", He says lowly as he glided a finger over your slit again, but not yet pushing in. "Bet you're gonna be so damn tight, gonna squeeze the cum right out of me."
His words made you squirm, just as his touch did. You felt something press against your entrance, something much bigger than his fingers. The tip of his cock pressed gently. You whimpered his name, that was enough to make him ram his hips forward. There was a slight resistance, feeling your pussy clamped around him tightly. It was more than enough to make you scream, from pleasure and some discomfort. Jungkook dropped forward, one hand on either side of your head, so your hands can finally reach him. He rolled his hips, pushing himself even deeper into you.
"Tell me who owns this pussy..." He spoke in a deep but strangled voice, it was clear he was holding back just a little.
"Y-you do, Jungkook..." You cried.
"Again."
"Jungkook!" You're panting, writhing beneath him. "Jungkook owns it."
He dropped to his elbows, one hand reaching back to grab your hair at the roots. "That's right, baby. This belongs to me." He thrusted again. "All of you belongs to me."
Your neck arches, and he uses the angle to fuse his lips to yours. His lips were warm and demanding; it made you feel claimed. The grip in your hair, his hips slamming between your thighs...it felt like ownership. You kissed him back, letting go of your control completely. Jungkook's tongue licks into your mouth, and you can taste what you thought you lost the first time.
"Kookie..." You gasp, opening your mouth for him. The tugging on your hair makes your core clench around him.
"My sweet fucking girl." He withdraws his cock and licks into your mouth again, "You're mine now, baby." He pushed back in his hips rolling devilishly good into you. "Wanna stay buried in this pussy forever."
He starts slamming in even harder, "Let me in, baby." He reaches down to grasp your leg, yanking it to hook it over forearm. Opening you even wider. "There's my sweet girl. Letting me in so good. So deep."
Your body was on fire, his hips not stopping for a second, arm lifting even more to stretch you more. The fingers massaging through your hair was a big contrast, soft and soothing, compared to his harsh thrusts. "That's it, baby girl. Take me. Feel me."
"I am...I do..." Your voice was broken from how much and how loudly you'd been moaning.
Jungkook's thrusting slowed only a little, "I need you to do one more thing for me, baby. Give me one more thing."
"Anything," You spoke quietly, "I'll do anything."
You could feel his breath on your cheek, " I need you to cum all over my cock."
You couldn't reply, his mouth pressing against yours again. Slower this time. You focused on the feeling of his lips against your, moving with him. Opening up for him. Tasting him. Then you feel his fingers on your clit. You hadn't noticed him move his arm to go between your bodies and it was-...you groaned into each other's mouths as you clenched around him.
"You're so close." He moaned.
"Y-yes..."
He caught your bottom lip between his teeth, biting hard enough that you feel it in your nipples. "O-oh god! Kook, I'm almost-!"
The hand that was tangled in your hair flattens against the back of your head, pulling you to him. He supported his full weight on his elbow, wrapping your arms and legs around him, you curl around his body. Shoving your face into his neck, his fingers dance over your clit. He thrusts up into you, his cock bottoming out as his fingers pinch your clit, and you cum. You screamed as you felt yourself clench around him, his hips piston faster.
"That's it, baby. Cum for me. Squeeze my cock until it's filling you with my cum." He panted, pushing his cum deep into you as you both finish riding your orgasms out.
Exhaustion took over both of you, Jungkook having yet to pull out from you. Your hands flatten along his back, feeling it rise and fall, hot skin under your palms. He burrows his face into the space between your shoulder and neck, making you smile. It was hard to breathe with his weight on top of you, but you didn't want this to end. You worked to get small and short breaths, not wanting to push the tired man off of you. His teeth sink into your neck, making you jolt and all your muscles contract.
"Y/N, you keep squeezing my cock like that and I'm gonna fuck you again." He spoke softly, lips brushing against your neck.
You squeaked at his words, feeling him shift. He pushed your legs up just a little so he could slip out of you comfortably. He places them so that they're still parted as he stands up. "Kook...?"
"Just wait." He spoke gently as he walked into the bathroom. The faucet could be heard, and a few seconds later, Jungkook walks back in, reclaiming his spot between your legs.
He presses a damp wash cloth to your pussy, dragging it through your folds. You hiss at the feeling, "It's cold..."
"I know, baby." He says as he gently wipes you with the washcloth again.
"You could've used warm water." You grumbled, turning your head, but Jungkook grabbed your face to make you look at him again.
"You're going to be sore enough as is. The cold water might help." His voice was soft and soothing, a contrast from how he was talking just a few minutes ago.
He discarded of the washcloth, laying down beside you after, pulling your spent body to his chest. You laid there in silence, basking in the afterglow from your actions. His fingertips traced shapes on your skin, "I love you..."
You froze, looking up at him with a glint in your eyes. "You...love me?"
He chuckled, "Of course I do. I was a fucking idiot back then. I didn't know what I had lost until it was gone. You are not something I want to lose ever again."
You cuddled closer, the feeling of contentment washing over you. "I love you too..."
***
Mistakes do get made. Everyone makes mistakes. Luckily for you, your mistake of sleeping with Jungkook ended up in your favor. You still don't know how you went from crying on your bathroom floor because of him, to crying in bed with him because of how good he treated you. You were his special person. And he wasn't ever going to let you go again.
Edit: Hi Everyone! This is the final chapter of Tattooed Hearts. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I already have some more ideas for future stories, and please don't be afraid to give ideas for a series you want to see in the future! I love you all very much, thank you for all the support for this story. I look forward to seeing you in the future with my new stories :)

"Do you ever think about the time we first met?"
Steve peers over his drink, his eyes skeptical and focused in on you from across the table, anxiously awaiting your answer.
"You’re my best friend," you shrug, eyes staring down into your mug at the remnants of your milkshake. “Of course I remember the time we first met.”
That wasn’t necessarily his question, but he’ll take what he can get.
He swallows harsh. “How’d it go?”
You eye him suspiciously, quickly noting the nervous thrum of his fingers on the table between you.
He’s been quiet all night. And Steve’s never quiet when he’s with you. Not during your weekly Friday dinners at the diner.
Steve’s always been a talker, ranting and rambling about work and his parents and the possibility of school. You were the only person he ever really opened up to about these things; the only person he ever felt comfortable enough to tell.
So, he knew you would notice something was off right away. He kept turning the conversation to you, listening with a far off stare. He didn’t chat up the waitress like he usually did, or bicker with you about the radio on the drive over.
But he can’t help it. His brain was going a million miles a minute and his palms were starting to sweat and he’s really never felt so nervous in his entire life.
Tonight is the night. Tonight’s the night Steve comes clean about his feelings for you – all those sickly, sweet feelings he’s been wanting to tell you ever since he met you.
Like how much he adores your laugh and your smile and the smell of your perfume. And the way you always keep extra tissues in your pocket when you know he has a cold. And how you always save him the seat next to you for movie night. And how you always ask him if he’s eaten that day and had a glass of water. And how Friday is his favorite day of the week because he gets to see you. And how he wishes he could see you every day. And how he’s never felt so lovesick before in his life. And how he really, really has to tell you he needs you because he doesn’t think he can keep it from you for much longer. And how he can’t stand being near you and not being able to kiss you when you smile at him like that. And how he hopes to god you feel the same way because he doesn’t think he can take losing you.
But he can’t say all that. He physically cannot say all that.
Secretly, he’s been silently hoping you would just figure out his feelings by yourself  already, so he wouldn’t have to muster up the courage to tell you himself.
It’s genuinely concerning you haven’t noticed already; he shows you his infatuation nearly every time you two are together. He’ll kneel down to tie your shoe for you when it comes undone. And he constantly calls you “just to hear your voice.” And he’ll rub your arms in the freezer section of the grocery store so you don’t get cold because you refuse to just take his jacket. And he still wears that silly friendship bracelet you made him in the tenth grade because he’s too afraid to lose it if he takes it off. And he always, without a doubt, gives you half of his food at the diner, even if he hasn’t eaten all day.
The poor boy’s practically obsessed with you, but you never seem to notice – always off in your own little world, leaving Steve to trail behind you like a lovesick, little puppy.
But he doing the whole puppy dog act tonight. He wasn’t doing anything tonight. He was a wet blanket dripping all over the booth tonight. And he was acting nervous.
And you still couldn’t figure out why.
So, by the time you both finished dinner and your waitress brought the check, you were just a touch annoyed.
“‘How’d it go?’” you repeated, truthfully understanding the question, but just wanting to give Steve a hard time.
“Sure, you know. The first time we met… how’d it go?” he asks again, unsure how to make himself any clearer.
Under the table, his foot had started to mimic the nervous tapping of his fingers. Your eyes snapped to his hand, then the bottom lip between his teeth (nervous habit), then down to your purse next to you in the booth.
“Well,” your brows furrow at the check near the end of the table as you blindly start feeling around your purse for some bills, “I seem to recall it was at the mall? You were in that adorable getup with the hat and the socks… and Robin was there–” You turn your full attention down to your purse, looking at it, offended.
Steve’s eyes narrow on you from across the booth.
“Ah!” You finally pull a crumbled up twenty from the bottomless pit that is your purse.
He really needs to remind you to clean that thing out again.
“Where was I?” you ask innocently over at him, “Oh, right. Robin… Robin, Robin. Oh! She told me you were gonna hit on me and that I should shoot you down no matter what.” You finish with a triumphant smile, the memory drifting back into your mind.
He’s always liked when you smile like that. Like he’s the butt of the joke.
“Right right,” he nods, eyes dropping back to the empty glass in front of him.
You seem to be waiting for him to just come out with it, to just say whatever it is that’s been eating him all night.
But he can’t. Something about the moment feels off.
He’s afraid to peek up and catch your icy glare drilling into him, until he hears you let out another huff as you start shimmying out of the diner booth without him.
“Wh–?” You were already halfway towards the door. His hand swipes up the twenty-dollar bill you left as he digs into his back pocket for his own wallet. He tugs out a twenty of his own and  replaces it on the table. He tosses out a five as well – should be enough for a tip – before he spots the forgotten purse on your seat and swipes that up, too, sticking your money back in the rightful pocket of your bag before jogging after you.
He's caught up to you just as you've reached the diner door, and you quickly drop it in his face, opting instead to head towards his car in a dramatic huff.
Eyes rolling, Steve swings the glass door back open, his foot making it about half-way through the exit before the hostess calls out to him.
"You finally gonna bite the bullet and tell her tonight, Stevie boy?" she chides him.
"Har, har, Janet. Very funny," he grumbles, tucking your purse under his arm to preserve some of his dignity.
"See you next week, Harrington," she chuckles, looking back down at the desk in front of her.
God. Is he that obvious?
Shaking the fear from his mind, he bursts back out into the warm, summer air, trailing a step or two after you.
"I didn’t hit on you, by the way," he insists, unlocking the car and jogging over to open the passenger side for you.
You slide in, your belly laugh cut off as he closes the door on you.
Once again, he's found himself to be the butt of the joke. He still doesn't mind all that much.
A smile starts to creep onto his lips upon hearing your laughter, but the grin quickly fades as he remembers the severity of his situation. Steeling his nerves, Steve strides around the hood to the driver's seat.
You're just gonna… go in there and just...Tell her. Just say what you feel, Harrington, c'mon. Best case scenario, she feels the same. Worst case scenario, she laughs in your face.
He grips the door handle, but can't seem to muster up the courage to get in just yet. He catches sight of you through the window, riffling through his glovebox, no doubt looking for the mixtape he made for you all those months ago. You spot the one with his writing on the side – crisp, clean – like he took far too much care in writing it. It's just your name on the side, nothing fancy, but he wanted to make it clear this tape was for you in particular. No one else.
Christ, you're becoming a problem.
He grits his teeth and hops inside as you load up the tape, still chuckling to yourself from earlier. Steve bites back another smile.
"Why's that funny? I didn't hit on you when you came in, I was perfectly civil–"
"Steve, you asked me what color lipstick I was wearing and if I had any plans that night," you shoot him a smirk as you reach for your seatbelt.
A blush warms his cheeks at the memory; he thought you would have forgotten.
He clears his throat and starts the ignition, turning in his seat and throwing his arm around your headrest to reverse, actively avoiding your gaze.
"I– uh, don't remember that."
"You're such a terrible liar, Steve," you smile through the words, whistfully, like he has no idea what he’s gotten himself into.
A chuckle bubbles up in his chest and he can't help but peek over at your smile. Now fussing with the buttons of the stereo, you listen for the song you want to hear.
You look pretty just sitting in his passenger seat, the sun gently setting through the whisps of your hair.
His eyes snap back to his rear window.
The car jolts to life as it swings out of the parking lot. Steve knows the way to your house by heart, but he always insists on taking the longer route back on Fridays.
"I'm actually an amazing liar, thank you very much," he mutters casually, adjusting his rearview mirror and merging onto the road.
"No, Steve, you're not," you finally find the right song and turn up the volume a touch - loud enough to hear the lyrics, but soft enough for you two to hold a conversation.
Steve likes this song. He likes all the songs on this tape because they remind him of you – Friday night drives back to your place, close proximity in his car, those butterflies in his stomach when your gaze turns on him.
"Y/N, I am so good at poker, your brain couldn’t even handle it–"
"Being good at poker doesn't necessarily mean you're good at lying, Steve. Just means you're good at reading people."
"Well that, too," he gives you a cocky look before snapping back to the road. "I'm a man of many talents."
"Pshhh," you smack his arm, as if he's said something particularly funny.
"Ow– Wha–? What is so fucking funny?" He shoots you a look across the car, half shocked, half annoyed.
"Nothing," you're giggling through your words once again, "Nothing, Steve."
"What, you don't think I have any talents?" He's accusatory now, leaning towards you for dramatic effect, his eyes still trained on the road.
"No! No, I didn't say that." A wave of seriousness washes over you, but it's quickly replaced with a sincere lightness, a gentle smile as you look at him. "I think you're plenty talented, Steve."
He scoffs, "Don't take that tone with me."
"What tone?" your voice bounces around the car, "I'm not taking any tone."
"That teasing tone, that 'Oh, yeah. Sure, Steve, whatever you say' tone."
You giggle at his poor impression of you, and he can't help the dopey smile that spreads across his face. He can never stay annoyed with you for too long.
You’ve turned your attention back to his glovebox now. He can tell you're reorganizing the tapes stowed there in a very particular order. He strains his eyes a bit to catch the titles. They’re ordered from left to right – his favorites to his least favorites. They’re definitely easier for him to reach from the driver's seat now.
His chest aches at your actions, how you subconsciously think of him, and a warm smile envelops his face. He thinks about how he'd rearrange every tape you've ever owned if it meant making your life a fraction easier.
Your hands freeze and you spin to face him. A silly smile slips onto your own lips and Steve’s breath hitches.
"What’re you smiling about?" you question coyly.
His grip on the wheel tightens and his eyes snap back to the road. He needs to contain himself.
"You always patronize me." He's grasping at straws, but he knows it'll distract you from the nervous hand running through his hair and the nibbling of his bottom lip.
“Patronize y–? Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, but I wasn't patronizing you just now. I was being sincere." You go back to sifting through his glovebox, muttering to yourself, "Surprised you can even use that word in a sentence…”
His eyes drift back down to your deft, pretty fingers, that bright, pristine nail polish, and he has to steel himself once again. There could be dents on the wheel by the time he pulls in your driveway.
A heavy sigh leaves him as he reaches up to anxiously adjust his rearview mirror. He knows he looks nervous as hell; he just hopes you're too wrapped up in your own little world to notice.
You don't seem to, now picking at your pretty manicure and tapping your foot to the music gliding through the speakers.
Steve passes your street sign and he can't stop the impending dread that washes over him at the idea of you no longer sitting in his car. He always hates the drive back to his place after he drops you off - your warmth still mingling in the air, but he can't quite get a hold of it. He likes that your perfume lingers when you leave, and the smell of your shampoo, but he just hates how it fades so quickly, until he gets to smell it again next Friday.
Pulling into your driveway, his stomach drops. It really is now or never.
He switches off the ignition, leaving you two in the warm darkness of the summer night, surrounded by that hazy light right after sunset. Only bits and pieces of your silhouette are visible from the dashboard light, but you’re still as stunning as always.
A heated look passes between you two before you're gathering up your things to leave, mindful to take your tape out of the stereo, replacing it with his favorite one for his ride home.
Your hand reaches for the handle as you start your goodbye.
"Kay, well, I'll see you next week, okay–"
But he stops you with a hand around your wrist. A silent plead for you to stay.
His heart is in his throat. Your pulse is so strong beneath his fingers. He swears he hears your breath catch.
“Y/N," his voice was low, unsure, like he was still thinking of what exactly to say.
"Yeah?" you give him a worried expression, tuned into his serious tone.
"I…"
But the words were caught in his throat, lips unable to form the words.
"I… I forgot." He deflates just a fraction and rubs your wrist once with his thumb before dropping it.
"Geez, Steve. Don't scare me like that. Thought you were gonna say you hate me or something like that." You chuckle as you swing the passenger door open.
Hate you? Hate you?
He’s not even thinking when he pushes open the driver’s side door and jogs after you to your porch.
You stop fumbling with your front door keys and turn to confront him.
“Forgot something, Harrington–?”
But he cuts off your teasing with his lips pressed to yours.
His hands run up to your neck, his thumbs nestled under your jaw and the pads of his fingers stroking at the soft spot below your ear. Your lips are so soft, so smooth, he can’t stop the little sigh from leaving his throat. Finally, he feels you relax into him, coming up to wrap your hands around his wrists gently, melting into his touch.
Eyes squeezing shut, he’s trying to memorize the feel of you, the smell of your shampoo and the feeling of his nose brushing your soft cheek, and the way your lips move against his, trying to drag the kiss out for as long as possible.
Unfortunately, he still needs that stupid thing called oxygen and he’s forced to pull back. His hands stay at your neck, the thumbs rubbing across your jawline, as his blown pupils sweep over your face.
“I’m really, really into you, by the way,” his words come out so breathless as he looks between your swollen lips and your wide eyes.
A shaky breath escapes through your lips. “Good thing I’m into you, too, pretty boy.”
He can’t even get worked up about the nickname before he’s leaning in again, this kiss much slower, much more meaningful. His heart starts to ache from the feel of your fingers rubbing along his knuckles, and he can’t stop from smiling against your lips. Eventually, he has to stop from how sickeningly sweet his chest feels, pulling back to rub the tip of his nose up the bridge of yours with his eyes squeezed shut, his cheeks and his lungs slowly starting to ache in the best way.
He hears a content hum come from the back of your throat, and he can’t help but mimic the same sticky, sentimental sound himself.
His eyes pop back open to get a good look at you. Your cheeks are flushed and your pupils are blown; you can’t seem to contain your own smile.
“Uh… sorry, if that was a little… unexpected,” he chuckles at your smarmy grin, his hands leaving your face as he takes a bashful step back and off your porch. “I’ll, uh… see you next Friday!”
Spinning confidently on his heel, hands tucking into his pockets, he makes his way back down your walkway and to his car, leaving you there a bit speechless. He smiles to himself at your stunned silence as he reaches for the door handle. Pausing for a moment, he spins back round, riding his adrenaline high.
“I’ll call you!” he calls out to you before swinging the door open and hopping in.
You’re just left there, standing on your porch, watching him drive off, one honk of the horn and then he’s down your street.
A hand comes up to graze over your kiss swollen lips. The spot where Steve Harrington just kissed you. The spot where Steve Harrington’s lips were on yours.
Little did Steve know, you’ve been waiting for him to do that for months now…

Husk needs all the love. So maybe fem!reader and Husk have been dating for awhile and even though he loves the affection and attention she gives him, he's still a little hesitant because of past experiences with relationships. But then she tells him "I love you" for the first time ❤️
Good/bad news, depending on your perspective - I went for an angsty hurt/comfort route on this one. I love Husk so much, I just want to take care of him...
Reader is questioning their relationship with Husk, Husk comes home injured one night, care is given and feelings are exchanged. Husk is a mess but he wants to be better, even if he thinks it's hopeless. Sex is mentioned, but over all SFW. About 2k words.
You and Husk have been together for about six months… you think. It depends on how you define “together”.
In some ways, he dotes on you. He loves giving you gifts, whether those gifts are physical items that immediately made him think of you, or songs he writes and performs just for you. He often takes you out for dinner, shows, and dancing, and has a great memory for the types of meals and shows you enjoy. Even the physical intimacy is incredible. He may not be one for public displays of physical affection, but behind closed doors he’s such an adoring partner. He told you from the start that for him, sex should be an experience shared by all parties involved, not just something that one side gives while the other takes, and oh, the way he shows it! Whether cuddling, making out, or having sex, Husk never leaves you wanting, and always makes sure you’re comfortable before it’s time for you to go to sleep or part ways. When you think about how attentive he is, you feel like you couldn’t ask for a more perfect partner.
But when it comes to emotional matters, it’s like dating a brick wall.
You spend so much time with him, and yet you barely know a damn thing about him. Sure, he’s shared some pieces of his past, like his dreams of being an internationally renowned performer that he crushed beneath the weight of his own vices and weaknesses. But in the present day, if he has any emotions besides “drunk”, you’re not aware of them. Sure, he seems happy when he gets to spend time with you, but he actively refuses to say so out loud.
“I like spending time with ya, but that’s all this is. We both know I’m gonna fuck this up eventually. Let’s just enjoy this while it lasts.”
He didn’t even seem upset when he told you that he knew his time with you would be limited before he hurt you. To him, it was simply an inevitable fact of nature.
You’ve tried so hard to break down his walls and offer him some much needed affection. He does genuinely seem to love it when you cuddle him and compliment him. He brightens at how well you remember what little he’s told you about himself, from his favorite songs and movies to the exact way he loves having his back massaged. And even though he refuses to admit to any of it, you can tell when he ends a night even more agitated than usual. He may tell you not to bother when you offer to keep him company after he closes the bar down, but he’ll accept it after some pressing, and you know he appreciates the attention from the way he starts clinging to you and purring.
But if you actually try to ask him exactly what has him agitated, he’ll refuse to answer. Maybe he’ll bitch about Alastor, but he’s never been clear about what his relationship with the Radio Demon is, and he won’t offer any other clues about anything that bothers him.
You once tried to tell him you loved him. He snapped at you not to say that shit before the phrase had fully left your mouth.
“What did I tell you about not getting too close to me?!”
It’s not like you don’t see where he’s coming from when he calls himself a fuckup. You don’t think you’ve ever seen him sober, and you’ve tucked his barely-coherent self into bed on numerous occasions. He’s had to cancel dates last-minute because he gambled away your concert tickets, and he often disappears in the middle of the night and refuses to say where he’s been. Sometimes you have a guess when the next morning involves a date cancellation, but other times all you can tell is that his nightly adventure has set him so on edge that he won’t leave his room or accept your company.
Why won’t he tell you anything? Why won’t he let you care about him? For all his talk about how people need to be honest and open about their feelings, he sure as hell isn’t saying shit about his own.
It’s the middle of the night, and you can’t sleep. You’d initially hoped for Husk to ease you to sleep with a hug and a lullaby, but he’s not answering his bedroom door. You didn’t find him in the lobby, either, so at this point you figure he’s either passed out drunk or out gambling again. It’s not the answer you want when you’re looking for your partner, but you’re still trying to be patient and accept that he has inner demons you’re nowhere near equipped to fight for him.
Patience. A man like Husk needs patience. But how much more patience can you have when he won’t even let you try?
You’ve given up on trying to sleep for now, and are instead lounging on the lobby couch and reading a book, not truly absorbing the words on the page as your mind wanders to thoughts about the relationship you’ve found yourself in.
You’re snapped out of your thoughts and your book as the front door to the hotel creaks open, followed by a familiar voice quietly cursing. Husk limps through the door, which is your first of many clues that something is terribly wrong.
He’s hunched over even more than usual, and he swears or hisses through his teeth every time he puts pressure on his right leg. It takes him a second to get moving again after every step. He’s clutching his left arm, and both of his wings are drooping and slightly crumpled.
“Husk?!” you shout as you spring up from the couch and run to him, all doubts about your relationship flung completely from your mind. “What happened?!”
He seems surprised to see you at first, but he swallows down any visible emotions as quickly as he can. “I’m fine,” he grumbles as he limps past you. “Just tired. Long night.”
“Of course you’re not fine! Come on, lean on me.” You grab his good arm and pull it away, and are horrified to see the bloodstained fur surrounding a nasty gash in his arm. “Husk!”
“I’m fine…” he repeats, even while breathing heavily through the pain.
“I’ll get you cleaned up. You’re not going upstairs alone.” You sling his good arm around your shoulder, and you slowly walk him up to his hotel room.
He keeps insisting he’s fine, but he’s not physically fighting your attempts at taking care of him. You’re not sure if it’s because he really does want your affection or because he’s too tired and in too much pain to protest, but either way, you’re glad he hasn’t chased you out of the room yet. You’re not a medical expert by any means, but he does seem soothed by the warm, wet rags you’ve wrapped around the wounds on his arm and his leg. For now, he’s laying on his back with his head in your lap and letting you gently stroke his head.
“What happened?” you ask.
He responds with a hollow laugh. “Told you I’m a fuckup,” is all he has to offer.
“Who did this to you?” you continue. “Why?”
“Does it matter?” he asks. “You don’t need to get involved in this shit.”
“I just want to help…”
“Yeah? How are you gonna help? You know a secret to getting me out of a million different debts with the fucking mob?”
Well, that’s more information than he’s offered before. “You’re in debt?”
“Ugh… didn’t mean to say that…”
“Husk… please talk to me. You’re always letting me talk to you when something’s bothering me…”
“This is way bigger than you can handle, doll. It’s been going on for years before this hotel even existed.”
“I still want to know… I want to know what’s going on with the person I lo- the person I care about.”
Husk groans, either in exasperation or pain. “You better not do anything stupid with what I’m about to tell you. I haven’t been able to save myself for years. Like hell you’ll be able to do anything about it.”
“At least let me hear you out,” you insist.
“All right… I’m in debt, like I said. It’s hard not to be when you’re a fucking gambling addict. There’s debts I’ve owed since back when I was an Overlord.”
“You were an Overlord?” This part is news to you.
“...I’ll tell you about that later,” is how he closes that subject. “I’ve been going out trying to win my way out of those debts, but more often than not, gambling just puts you further in the hole. The group I played with last night are an especially ruthless bunch. I got desperate enough to try to cheat my way into a win… and I got caught.”
“And then they…”
Husk scoffs. “Yeah. They weren’t happy. Probably would have killed me if they had any angelic weapons on ‘em. They still fucked me up pretty badly. I’m not as strong as I used to be, and even if I was, ten-on-one ain’t great odds. Would have been worse if I didn’t somehow manage to crawl out of there.” He sighs. “I’ll be fine. It’s not the first time I’ve gotten roughed up over a bad hand of poker. I was just able to hide it from you until now.”
“I wish you would have told me,” you say. “I could have taken care of you…”
“Why are you so desperate to take care of a fuckup like me?” he asks. “It’s not the first time I’ve gotten myself into some deep shit, and it’s not going to be the last. This is what you’re signing up for by insisting on hanging around me. What are you getting out of this?”
“You’re not a fuckup, Husk. You’re a performer, a dreamer, an artist… you’re attentive, patient, caring… you’re my best friend. You have issues, but who doesn’t, especially down here? But I know who you are underneath it all, and it’s more than worth it.”
He doesn’t seem to believe you, but he doesn’t say anything about it either way. He simply falls silent and closes his eyes as you stroke his hair.
“Husk?” you say after about a minute.
“Mm?”
“...I love you, Husk.” It’s out of your mouth before you can stop yourself. You don’t care how he reacts to it; it needs to be said.
“Even when I’m like this?” he asks.
“Especially when you’re like this,” you assure him. “Especially when you need it most.”
“I’m not gonna get better. Is this really what you want to be stuck with?”
“Who says you won’t?” you ask. “There’s nothing stopping you from trying, right? And you know I’m here to help you, if there’s anything I can do…” You gently stroke at the tuft of fur on his chest, lightly pulling out the tangles.
“...I don’t want to hurt you,” he finally says. “I never wanted to hurt anyone who loved me. But I couldn’t fix myself for them… what if I can’t fix myself for you?”
“It’s enough for me if you try. You have me, you have Angel, you have Charlie… you’ll get through this. It’s not too late.”
“You really believe in Charlie’s mission, huh…”
“I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think it was possible.”
He relaxes in silence for a few minutes as you continue to stroke his chest.
“...I wanna go to sleep,” he finally says.
“Of course.” You help move him up to his pillows, going slowly and carefully to not aggravate his wounds any more than you have to. Once you have him in position, you go into the bathroom to get some clean rags, then return to change the makeshift bandages you’ve made for him.
“Do you want me to leave you alone tonight?” you ask as you tuck the rag around his leg.
He doesn’t even need a second to think about it. “No. I want you to stay.”
“Then I’ll stay.” Once you’re sure he’s comfortable, you join him on the other side of the bed. He groans in pain, but still moves to wrap an arm around you and pull you close. His wings don’t blanket you like they sometimes do, but you know it’s for the best if he doesn’t move them right now. You pull him in against your chest, finally feeling ready to fall asleep.
“Hey…” he says quietly just before you drift off.
“...I love you, too.”

10 things i hate about you | anthony lockwood.
pairing: anthony lockwood x fem!reader
summary: george karim falls in love with your sister, and the only thing standing between him and the love of his life is the fact that she isn’t allowed to date unless you do, too. luckily for him, anthony lockwood would do anything for a bit of publicity.
wc: 5.8k (part one)
a/n: hii i felt so bad for leaving you all hanging, but finals week left me extremely burnt out and tired. luckily, the lockwood brainrot is neverending, so as a way of saying sorry here’s the first part of this silly ol’ fic. (including the first five things to hate about lockwood.)  i’m also super sorry for the next part because it will be 90% angst lol ++ this is inspired by the movie but not completely based on it bc it’s my all time favorite film and i was scared of not doing it justice.

Lucy swore she was going to quit the agency again if George didn’t stop pacing around the kitchen like an idiot. She kept thinking of things to say to get him to stop, but a part of her also wanted to see how long this pathetic situation in front of her would take, she knew it wouldn’t be long until their researcher got tired of walking back and forth. And that’s where she is now. Sitting in the kitchen, an empty mug staring back at her, while George kept pacing in front of her and Lockwood.
“Hey, George! I have an idea. Why don’t you sit down and tell us what’s going on like a normal person, instead of just muttering I’m so fucked over and over?”
George finally stopped and looked up at her. He stood still for a few seconds before taking a seat next to Lockwood.
“Well, I’m fucked.”
“Yeah, I think we heard that part.”
“Luce, stop,” Lockwood said in the softest voice he could muster, before turning to George. “Do you want to talk about it? Maybe we can help.”
George took a deep breath before starting. “So, you know how I’ve been telling you both and Holly about that one girl from the archives?”
Lockwood smiled at that. The thought of George crushing on a girl after bonding with her about their love for research is still one of the cutest things he has ever heard.
“Oh, right. How are things going with her? Is everything alright?”
“Well, sort of. I mean, everything is alright, but just when I thought of finally making a move on her, she kind of, um… dropped a bomb on me?”
“A bomb? But you already knew she’s a Fittes agent, that’s not new.” Lucy stated.
“Yes, I know. And trust me, there’s nothing wrong with that.” George continued, “She is the sweetest, most intelligent, beautiful human being to have ever lived. I mean it.”
Lucy and Lockwood shared a knowing look. George was totally a goner for this girl.
“Then.. just ask her out?” Lockwood suggested, watching carefully as George fidgeted with the thinking cloth, now too shy to look at his friends.
“That’s the problem, I can’t,” George explained, before pulling his glasses away and rubbing his eyes. The stress of the situation clearly getting the best of him.
“Okay, this will probably be a stupid question, but.. why?” Lucy asked, genuinely confused by the problem her friend was going through. Sure, asking someone out is frightening, but it’s not like George was about to fight a type two without any kind of protection.
George took a deep breath before finally explaining. “She can’t go out with me unless her sister gets a date, too.”
Lucy almost laughed at how stupid the so-called bomb was. “Well, ask one of her colleagues to woo her or something. She’s a Fittes agent too, right?” She suggested, remembering the only fact they knew about said sister. “She must know a bunch of people willing to date her.”
George found the strength to look up, making eye contact with Lockwood and then turning to Lucy, before finally dropping the bomb on them. “I can’t, everyone at Fittes despises her.”
Shit.
Lockwood and Lucy didn’t even have to think twice about who the sister in question was. There’s only one person who is loathed by every single Fittes agent, and surprisingly it isn’t Quill Kipps. George was talking about Fittes’ very own heinous bitch. (Obviously, the nickname was granted by the one and only Bobby Vernon. But to be fair, it’s not like he is the most reliable of people. Lockwood took note of that.)
Portland Row was silent for a few moments until Lucy finally spoke up. “Well, George. The world is wide, there will always be other people for you to fall for.”
“Luce.” Lockwood warned her.
“I’m trying to help!”
“I know you are, but George really likes this girl.” He explained
“I think I might be in love with her. No, scratch that. I am in love with her.” George confessed in a small whisper.
“Oh, fuck.”
“Luce.”
“Sorry!”
“I told you we would try to help, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. Right, Lucy?” Lockwood looked at her, an unspoken beg passing between them.
“Fine, yeah, we will. What do you know about her sister? Maybe we can find someone with the same interests as her. Like umm.. Holly? or the guy who sweeps the floor at Arif’s?” Lucy almost winced at how stupid their repertoire of options was, the three of them were friends with a limited number of people, and by limited she meant Holly and a guy who always greets them when they get something from Arif’s
George thought for a few moments about everything he knew about her. “I know she’s a team leader–” He couldn’t even finish his list, let alone his sentence, because before he could even continue, Lockwood stood up.
“I’ll do it.” He said with a small shrug, almost as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
A chorus of “I’m sorry?” and “What the fuck?” were heard at the same time, but Lockwood couldn’t bring himself to care. He wanted to do this.
“What? You said you wanted someone to woo her. Right, Luce?” He explained as he took Lucy’s empty mug away from her and moved to the sink.
Lockwood’s back faced them while he washed their used dishes. “Yes, but.. why do you want to do it?”
“It’s a win-win situation. If I go out with her, George will get to date her sister, and we will get publicity.” The way Lockwood explained the situation with such ease had Lucy thinking he had planned this beforehand.
“Publicity?” George finally spoke up.
“Yes. You said she’s a team leader, which means she is important, and we also know she’s disliked by every single one of her peers, which means the press will be surprised to see her hanging out with someone. So, if we get photographed together, everyone will want to know what’s so special about the agents of Lockwood and Co. Which means–”
“More cases.” George finished the sentence for him.
“See? It’s easy.” Lockwood, finally done with the dishes, turned around.
“No, it’s not. I think it’s a stupid idea. You won’t be using someone to get this agency more clients, are you insane?” Lucy stated, indignation lacing her words.
“Hey, George. You said you were taking her sister out for breakfast tomorrow, how about we make it a double date?” He said with a bright smile, ignoring Lucy’s words.
“Oh, um.. Okay.”
George was right, Lucy thought. They are so fucked.
1- I hate the way you talk to me and the way you cut your hair.
“George, calm down. Everything will be okay, I promise.” Lockwood said, sending an encouraging look to the boy next to him. George was sweating, he didn’t expect your sister to accept the double date. He didn’t expect you to accept the double date.
“I know. I even practiced a speech and everything, it will be alright.”
“You practiced a what?”
George wasn’t able to answer his question because right when Lockwood asked him, they were able to see two silhouettes standing outside of the café they were walking to.
“Oh, they’re here,” Lockwood stated plainly before walking up to them, George looking nervous as fuck next to him.
Sure, George was a sweaty mess, but he knew this would happen. He even expected you to look at him with disgust in your eyes and say something along the lines of “I was dragged here against my will. Fuck you, Karim. You will never date my sister.”
What he didn’t expect to see was your face painted with confusion. George was about to greet you with the long speech he spent the entire night workshopping, but before he could even mutter a word, you let out an exasperated sigh and looked George in the eye before you gaze slipped to Lockwood and then back to him.
“What is it, asshole day? Why are you two here?”
Lockwood was about to open his mouth and answer your question, but luckily your sister spoke up just in time.
“I invited my two friends to have breakfast with us!” She said with a bright, almost angelic smile. George felt like he was in heaven just by seeing her.
“I know about Karim, but why are you friends with Anthony Lockwood?”
“Oh, so you’ve heard of me? Only the good things, I hope.” Lockwood said, his charming smile making a way to his face.
“Yeah, like the houses you’ve burned down, and how stupidly reckless you are to the point that you even got shot.” You stated, repulse evident in your eyes as you looked at the man of the hour.
“It’s adorable how much you know about me.”
“Have you ever been to a psych ward? I can get you an appointment set and ready by tonight.”
“You want to see me tonight?”
George feared you might slit Lockwood’s throat with the way you were looking at him. “We should, um, get inside.” He said, trying (and failing) to break the awkward tension, guiding the four of you into the café.
George looked at your sister and whispered into her ear “It’s not my place to assume but.. you didn’t tell her we were coming, did you?”
She gave him a shy smile before answering. “I want her to make some friends, and I think someone like Lockwood might help her come out of her shell.”
She looked so innocent that George wanted to break down crying and tell her all about Lockwood’s dumb publicity plan. This was eating him alive.
You took a seat next to your sister in the booth George had reserved for the four of you. Lockwood smiled when he saw your eyes widen at the sight of him sitting right in front of you.
“Karim, can you switch places with your friend?”
“Why? Are you embarrassed I’ll see you blush whenever you look into my eyes?”
“Have you ever been told that your hairline will recede by the time you’re 30 years old if you keep cutting and styling your hair like that?”
“Have you ever been told that you’re incredibly beautiful?”
Your sister had to place her hand over yours before you could reach for the knife placed in front of you by a waiter. Lockwood couldn’t contain his laughter at the look on your face.
“What’s so fucking funny, Lockwood?”
“Nothing. Don’t mind me, please continue with your insults. I relish being the reason behind your thoughts and words.”
That was enough to shut you up. Your sister, George, and Lockwood shared jokes and stories while you looked down at your plate, the conversation flowing easily between them. Sometimes you’d look up to find Lockwood staring at you, he’d send you a small smile and try to include you in the conversation, but you didn't intend on giving him the satisfaction of getting you to speak, so you’d shut him down with an eye roll.
The rest of the morning went by smoothly until your sister had the brilliant idea to tell you about her plans for the rest of the day.
“You’re going to the archives with Karim.. alone? Just the two of you?”
“Did you not hear her the first time, love?”
“Shut the fuck up, Lockwood.” You snapped at him, hoping your anger was enough to mask the blush rushing into your cheeks.
It wasn’t.
“Did I just make you blush?”
“You made me want to throw up.”
“Deny it all you want, but the pet name clearly had an effect on you.. love.”
“Ugh, whatever.”
The four of you stood up and walked to the café’s exit, Lockwood opening the door for your sister and you. As soon as you got outside, your sister began to apologize for not telling you about her impromptu archives plan with George.
“It’s fine, I don’t mind. Just.. text me when you get there?” You said softly. Way too softly, Lockwood noticed. He had never seen you this vulnerable, maybe your sister was way more important to you than he expected.
“I will. Promise.”
You said your goodbyes before turning around, planning on walking to your car, but the universe definitely wasn’t on your side today.
“Wait! I’ll go with you.” Lockwood said as he tried to catch up with you, matching the pace of your long strides.
“I don’t know if you can tell, Lockwood, but I’m trying to get away from you.”
“What kind of gentleman would I be if I didn’t drive you home after our first date?”
“You’re not a gentleman, and that wasn’t a date.”
Lockwood pressed a hand to his heart, feigning hurt. “Ouch, not a gentleman? Thank god my mother isn’t here to hear those words.”
You finally stopped walking and turned around to face him. “What do you want?”
“To.. drive you home?”
“No, Lockwood. What do you want? You tried to include me in your stupid conversation earlier, then paid for my breakfast, opened the door for me, and now you want to drive me home. What the fuck do you want?”
Lockwood stayed silent for a while, just staring into your eyes. “I was trying to be nice to you, is that too hard to believe?”
He took notice of how you looked away from his eyes and tried to keep your hands busy by playing with the hem of your shirt.
You cleared your throat before saying, “Fine, but if you fuck my car up, I swear to god, Lockwood..”
2- I hate the way you drive my car.
The car was silent the entire first half of the ride. Sometimes you’d catch Lockwood staring at you from the corner of your eye, but you never looked back, deciding that looking through the car window was a better sight.
“You don’t talk much unless it is to deliver a well-crafted insult, huh?” Lockwood said, trying to break the silence. It wasn’t awkward, it was just.. tense.
“Do you want me to talk to you?” You answered, slightly surprised by the fact that Anthony Lockwood of all people, wanted to have a conversation with you.
“Yeah.”
“And what do you want me to say? It’s not like I know a single thing about you.”
“You can say whatever you want, I don’t mind. I’ll accept it whether it is you cursing my entire bloodline, or you saying you’re deeply attracted to me.”
The car came to a stop, a red light illuminating Lockwood’s sharp features. You hated to admit it, but fuck, Anthony Lockwood was attractive.
“Me? Deeply attracted to you? Holy shit, did you fall and hit your head as a baby?”
“You so are.”
“Am I that transparent? Because you’re right. Oh, Lockwood, I am so attracted to you and your stupid fucking personality. I want you, I need you. Oh baby, oh baby.”
“You have such a beautiful way with words, love.”
That was enough to get a small laugh out of you. Lockwood kept surprising you, he didn’t back down after an insult or two, and he actually seemed to enjoy being indulged in them.
He turned his head to look at you as soon as he heard you laugh, a smile adorning his face. A feeling of pride (and maybe something more) swelled in his chest.
“I can’t believe I just made you laugh for the first time and we’ve been on a date for about three hours now. God, I’m making such a bad first impression.”
“You still won’t let the idea of this being a date go?”
“Nope. I enjoy being on a date with you. You’re a nice person to hang out with.”
The corners of your lips curled up into a small smile. “You don’t mean that.”
“I do, I would rather take you out on a million dates than spend 30 minutes with any other person,” Lockwood confessed, and he meant it.
“Like you could find a person who would willingly spend 30 minutes with you.”
“Oh, see? That, there. Who needs affection when I have blind hatred?”
The two of you spent the rest of your ride home talking, the tension slowly evaporating, leaving room for the back-and-forth quips that Lockwood and you kept throwing each other.
Lockwood stopped the car when he heard you say, “Alright, this is my house.” You were about to open the door, but before you could even extend your arm he said a quick, “Wait!” and got out of the car, rounding it to open your door.
“Thanks.”
“Anything and everything for you.”
Just as you were about to answer, a flash and the sound of a camera clicking disrupted the moment you were having.
“You’re fucking with me”, you muttered under your breath. Lockwood looked surprised too, he had completely forgotten about his plan.
Take her out for a few days. Get photographed together. Gain more clients.
His heart sank at the reminder of the reality of this situation. He had been so busy having fun with you, that his mind decided to blur out the reason why he was hanging out with Fittes’ most hated agent.
“Alright. I should, um, go.”
“Do you want me to walk you to your door? Or is the first date too soon to meet your parents?”
“Fuck you, Lockwood,” You said with a smile.
“It doesn’t really seem like you want to.”
He found himself smiling, too.
3- I hate it when you stare.
“What a fun coincidence to find you here, love.”
You rolled your eyes at Lockwood’s annoying voice. “Yeah, it’s such a fun coincidence that you almost burned this house down and my team had to come help your incompetent agency.”
“Third time’s a charm.”
“There’s no way in hell you’ve been the cause of more than two fires.”
“If you let me take you out on another date, maybe I’ll tell you more about them.” You almost stabbed him with your rapier. “Shut up, people might hear.” That brought a bright smile to his face and an incredulous look to his eyes.
“Oh, so you want to keep our relationship a secret? Fine, I’ll take it. I love a forbidden romance.” He whispered, the smell of lavender and lemon engulfing you as he kneeled a bit to whisper in your ear.
“Yeah, whatever helps you sleep at night. Anyway, I need to go check out the paperwork for the mess you made, can you keep an eye on my team?” You shyly asked, breaking the eye contact he was desperately trying to keep.
“You trust me with your team? I thought my agency was incompetent and I wasn’t good at anything.”
“It’s just for a few minutes, don’t let this get to your head.”
“Oh, it’s way over my head, love.”
You showed him a very special finger, before walking away to talk to Barnes. You tried to remain professional and listen to what the inspector was saying, but you couldn’t shake the feeling of a pair of eyes looking at you. “Sorry for calling you again, you know how it gets whenever Lockwood and Co have a case,” Barnes said, breaking you out of the cage your mind had trapped you in.
“Oh, it’s nothing. It’s my pleasure to help.” You tried to muster up a small smile for the man, you liked Barnes, he never treated you differently, not even when the way you acted and decided to express yourself wasn’t the most appropriate.
“And I think it's their pleasure to be helped.”
“I’m sorry?”
You turned around, following Barnes’ line of sight, only for your eyes to meet Lockwood’s. He gave you a small smile but didn’t look away, it was almost as if he longed for your eyes to make contact. You sent him a small frown, wordlessly asking him what was wrong, he just shrugged and waved at the two of you.
“He is so weird.” You said, turning to face the inspector. “Tell me about it. Well, we are all done here. Have a nice night, and make sure to get home safely.” He answered, eager to get away from the group of agents surrounding him, and walking away.
Lockwood didn’t miss a beat before making his way to you. “So, I’m thinking we make the second date happen over some tea at Portland Row?”
“Not happening.”
“I’m not one to make a woman feel uncomfortable when she says no, but may I ask why?
“I’d rather spend my time hanging out with ten type threes, than with the group of miscreants you call friends. No offense to Lucy and Holly, though. I quite like them. I was talking about Karim, tell that thing to stay away from my sister.” You answered, finally finding the guts to maintain eye contact while you spoke.
“You know Lucy and Holly?” He decided to ignore your entire statement, now only focused on the fact that you knew his friends. Anxiety making its way through his body at the thought of Lucy telling you about his plan.
“Yeah, and they told me some really interesting things about you. I never took you as the type of person to do that type of stuff.”
Lockwood’s heart almost gave out. “What did they say?”
“That you wear pink socks.”
He felt his heart start beating again. Lockwood thought he was about to die in front of you, he made a mental note to thank Lucy for being nice enough to not tell you about his schemes. He found the strength to give you a charming smile.
“That surprised you? Lord, do you think I’m the type of guy to have a fragile masculinity? My mother raised me better than that.”
“You mention your mother a lot, are you close with her?
They should give out awards for Feeling your heart stop two times in the span of 3 minutes because Lockwood was sure he would get one delivered to Portland Row’s doorstep by tomorrow morning.
“I.. um, yeah.”
Fuck. You made it awkward. You almost dropped down to your knees and begged him for forgiveness.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude into your personal life, it’s not my place to ask and assume shit about your family. I’m so fucking sorry, Lockwood.” The light in your eyes dimmed, the sight of it made Lockwood want to tell you all about his past. He wanted to go back to ten minutes ago when your eyes were shining and looking into his. He internally swore to never let the light leave them again.
“You’re good, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it.” He reassured you in a small voice, clearly not fine.
“No, I will worry–” You couldn’t finish your sentence because, once again, the light of a camera flash illuminated Lockwood and you, blinding you both for a split moment.
“Of course they’re here. Jesus Christ, do they not have lives? A family?”
“Maybe they just like taking pictures of your beautiful face.”
The light came back to your dim eyes at his statement. “There he is.” You said, noticing how his gaze slipped from your eyes to your lips, before going back to the eye contact you had.
“What can I say? I can’t stop myself from complimenting you when you’re around.”
4-  I hate your big dumb combat boots and the way you read my mind.
The streets of London were quiet while Lockwood took a small walk in the early morning. Lucy told him if he walked around the city for a few hours, he’d be able to break in the new pair of combat boots she got him as a present after he made it through 10 cases without almost dying.
“It’s 8 am and you’re already up being pathetic. I should say I saw this coming, but I really didn’t. Holy shit.” A familiar voice snapped him out of the daze he was in. He was so busy going through a list in his head of all the things he had to do this week, that he didn’t notice you walking next to him.
“How long have you been walking by my side?”
“Long enough to see you staring straight ahead and not noticing how incredibly pathetic you look. Your boots are hideous, by the way.” You answered, looking into his eyes and noticing how he smirked at your last remark.
“I don’t think Lucy will be happy about you calling her well-thought gift hideous.”
You let out a genuine laugh as soon as he said that. It was the type of laugh that bubbled up from your chest and had you throwing your head back. It made Lockwood feel as if all the morning clouds had disappeared and the sun shone only on the two of you. Sure, you had laughed at Lucy’s gift, but the sound was enough to let the sun shine its warm rays through Lockwood’s heart. An infinite sunbathe.
“Oh, so you find this funny? Hurting my best friend’s feelings?” He asked in a teasing tone, squinting slightly at you.
“So.. I take it she didn’t tell you?” You asked, a small giggle escaping your lips and going straight through Lockwood’s heart.
“Tell me what?”
“That our plan was to get you the most ugly, repulsive looking, and incredibly stupid boots that we could find? I wasted my money on that, you’re welcome or whatever.”
He should’ve been offended. Offended at how Lucy wanted him to humiliate himself by walking through the streets of London with a pair of bright neon green combat boots. Offended that she had asked for your help to choose the ugliest pair she could find. But he was too busy fighting the urge to press his lips against yours and to run his slender fingers through your hair.
Did you not notice how you always bit your lip after laughing because you thought that would stop you from falling into another fit of laughter?
“Yeah, yeah, you two are so funny,” He rolled his eyes with a smile. “Thank you, love.” He was about to nudge you with his shoulder, but as soon as he turned to look at you, he noticed you weren’t next to him anymore.
His heart stopped for a second until he finally looked back and caught you staring at two women through a café window, clearly on a date. One of them gave the other a bouquet of different types of flowers and brushed back a strand of her girlfriend’s bright red hair. That brought a smile to your face.
“Hey, you okay?” He whispered as soon as he stood next to you, noticing the sad smile on your face.
“Oh, yeah. I was just..”
You didn’t have to say a word for him to be aware of what you wanted to mention. The look in your eyes, and the small smile on your face.. this was the look you always got whenever you saw your sister with George.
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to,” Lockwood reassured you. Not wanting to scare you off after seeing the look on your face and the small voice you used to answer.
“Do you think I’m holding my sister back?” You asked, turning around to look into his eyes, your hands trembling a bit.
He didn’t miss a beat before taking hold of your hand and lacing your fingers together, giving your gentle hand two squeezes. “I think.. you care a lot about her, and that’s completely fine. But it is not your job to dictate what she can or can not do. It’s okay to let her have her freedom and life, just like you deserve to have yours.”
You took a deep breath before pulling Lockwood into a hug, your arms surrounding his neck. Lockwood was startled for a second but didn’t have to think about it twice before wrapping his arms around your waist, letting you take the lead in this display of affection.
“I’m sorry.”
“You’re sorry? You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I know, but.. um”
“You don’t have to say anything, come on,” He said, breaking the hug and taking your hand into his, pulling you forward to continue the walk you were on.
5- I hate you so much it makes me sick, it even makes me rhyme.
Lockwood looked down at your intertwined hands, thinking of things to say to get the fog of sadness blinding you out of the way. “So you’re a hopeless romantic, huh?
“What the fuck?”
Alright, so maybe this wasn’t his greatest icebreaker ever, but at least it was something. He chose to continue.
“Don’t think I haven’t noticed how you always stare at every couple we walk past. It’s kind of adorable. Fittes’ heinous bitch being a hopeless romantic? Sign me the hell up.”
“You’re sick in the head, Anthony Lockwood.”
“I didn’t think of you as a hopeless romantic, like.. at all. But I assume this means you’re the type of person who wants flowers and love letters delivered to her doorstep. Right?”
“No.”
“Sure, love. I’ll keep this in mind for future references.”
Lockwood made sure to walk you back to Fittes’ building after spending the rest of his morning with you, choosing to take the weird looks his boots got with pride and a bright smile. Whenever someone stopped him in the street he’d answer with a happy “my best friend and this beautiful lady next to me gave them to me as a gift”.
You spent the rest of your day going back and forth through Fittes’ small yet numerous offices, talking to different people about your previous and next cases. Sometimes you’d stop to take a breather outside a door, but quickly remembered the importance of your role as a team leader, and snapped out of your seemingly neverending exhaustion.
“Am I dreaming or is that my best friend in the whole world?” You turned your head to the right to find Bobby Vernon smirking at you, a dry chuckle leaving his lips.
“Fuck off, Vernon.”
“Woah, no need to get all pissy, love.” You clenched your shaking fists, trying to keep your anger in. You may have a short temper, but you would never let someone like him get the satisfaction of making you angry, or at least of noticing the effect his words have on you.
The thought of someone other than Lockwood calling you by that pet name made you want to burst into tears. How dare they see you as someone who’s weak? After everything you’ve done and fought for to get the role you have as an agent?
“I don’t have the time for your bullshit, so just spit it out and let me go home.” You said with an eye roll.
“Your sister wanted me to tell you that you got mail. Well, it’s more like a gift, I guess. I assume it’s from your parents because I can’t think of a single human being who genuinely likes you.”
You knew better than to take his words to heart, but the venom he said them with stung. You knew you were unlikeable, probably even unloveable at this point, but he didn’t have any right to say those words to your face. It made you feel disgusting, you had to fight back the urge to throw up.
“Yeah, alright. Have a good day, Vernon.” You replied as you walked past him and out into the street, calling for a cab to take you home.
The ride back home was silent, and it surprisingly made you miss Lockwood. It made you miss his stupid jokes, his ugly haircut, and his reckless way of driving your car. You were sure the poor guy didn’t know what a stop sign meant.
As soon as the cab driver got you home, you made sure to pay him and wish him a safe drive, after all, the curfew was 15 minutes away from starting. A sigh escaped your lips after opening your door and heading into your room. The day had left you completely worn out, and Bobby’s words didn’t help at all with the shit day you were having.
You quickly got changed and were about to head to bed when you noticed a package sitting in the corner of your room. A frown made its way to your face when your eyes caught the unfamiliar handwriting with your name on the box, curiosity taking the best of you as you opened the package with a delicate touch.
A gasp left your lips when you opened it and found the same bouquet of colorful flowers you saw the woman give to her partner at the café. A white envelope sat next to them.
With a small smile and shaking hands, you opened it and were greeted with Lockwood’s handwriting.
Hey, my love.
I’ll be really honest and say that my mind is completely blank as I write this, but I just wanted to let you know that right after I dropped you off, I went to Arif’s with George and heard a love song playing — I couldn’t help but think of your hopeless romantic self as soon as I heard these lyrics: You’re just too good to be true, can’t take my eyes off of you.
Jesus, I know you’re having a field day reading this. Me? Embarrassing myself and sending you a bouquet and a love letter? You’re right, I must be extremely sick in the head.
Anyway, I hope you have a good day. You deserve it.
With lots of love,
Lockwood.
(PS: You don’t have to say it back! But I thought it felt right to say it since we’re kind of besties now.)
The tears you spent the entire day holding back decided to come out right after you finished reading the letter. Sobs escaped your lips as you sat down in your bed, the flowers and letter still in your hand. A strange feeling bubbled up inside you, you didn’t quite know what it meant, but decided to guess it was that disgusting sickening feeling Bobby left you with.
When you laid in bed and tried to go to sleep, you took notice of how different the feeling you were having right now was from the one you got with Bobby Vernon. Sure, this one made you want to throw up, too. But it also made you want to stare into Lockwood’s eyes again and to feel his arms wrapped around your waist for a few more seconds. You drifted to sleep with a craving of feeling Lockwood’s hand intertwined with yours for the rest of your life.

YEAHH LETS GO !!
Jealous? — Chad Meeks ★
Tumblr media
PAIRING: Chad Meeks x fem!reader
SUMMARY: reader has been talking and hanging out with a boy recently and chad gets jealous but it ends in a cute little confession ofc :)
WARNINGS: none !!
Tumblr media
He watched with squinted eyes as he stared at you down the hall. You were against a locker laughing with some guy you had met in the Library recently, Isaac. You were supposed to be Chad’s best friend but it feels like he’s being replaced. What he doesn’t want to admit is it’s because he’s had a huge crush on you since high school, and you guys had gotten extremely close since the incident in Woodsboro.
“Dude, if you keep staring you’re gonna burn a hole in their heads.”, Anika joked while Mindy wrapped her arm around her and joined in. “Yeah, I don’t understand why you won’t just tell her you’re in love with her.”
Chad quickly turned to look at Mindy with a puzzled look, “What? I’m not in love with her- were just friends.“
“Sureee ‘friends’ ”, Anika said in air quotes, “I guess you aren’t jealous of her little friend either, right?” She smirked while Chad scoffed. “I am not jealous.” He said matter of factly and looked back at you and Isaac again.
Mindy rolled her eyes muttering a ‘Whatever’ and walked off with Anika while Anika laughed.
He stood there thinking about it for a minute. He wasn’t jealous. All he’s ever wanted is for you is to be happy and safe and protected. Just because he wants to make you feel that way and doesn’t want anyone else to, doesn’t mean he’s jealous!! Or maybe he was just in extreme denial. He huffed out a breath and turned to walk away while giving you another glance.
Isaac was really close to you now, a little too close for Chad’s liking. So, he did the only logical thing he could think of, go up to you and show that prick you’re his. Though it isn’t even official but he’d get to that later. He walked up to you and you noticed him immediately with a bright smile and greeted him, “Chad! Where have you been? I didn’t see you this morning.”
“Sorry I had to help Ethan with some project he’s been working on. We still on for the movie tonight?”
You grimaced remembering you had made plans with Isaac. Chad looked confused then looked at the smirk on the guy’s face. Fucking asshole. “I guess you already have plans?” Chad asked slightly annoyed.
“I’m sorry Chad I completely forgot about the movie. I’ll make it up to you!” You grabbed his hand “You free tomorrow?” Chad slightly frowned but slowly nodded his head. “Yeah, just promise to text me later.” You smiled genuinely, “Of course! See you later.” You let go of his arm and he walked away.
He hated this. He thinks he hates it more than he should, but could you blame him? You guys always hung out, you were always around each other. He could tell that Isaac liked you by the way his eyes darkened when you grabbed Chad’s hand, but Chad couldn’t tell if you liked Isaac. You were always sweet and genuine to everyone and he loved that about you but you were friendly to the point where some might mistake it as flirting.
time skip to the next day
It was all of you hanging out at Sam’s apartment preparing to watch a scary movie. Chad would have preferred it to be just the two of you but he’s just glad he gets to spend time with you, since everything’s felt distant lately. Mindy got the popcorn ready and sat on the couch with Anika and Tara, Ethan sat on a chair by the door, and Quinn and Sam were in the kitchen talking, not really interested in the movie. So that left you and Chad alone on the second couch together. He silently thanked whatever higher being let this happen because it allowed him to put his arm around you when the movie started.
He thought he was being casual about it and glared daggers at Mindy and Tara for giggling at him. What he didn’t see was the grin on your face when he did so. Everyone could tell he liked you, and you liked him too but were a little more subtle about it. The only person you told was Mindy but assumed other people could probably tell with how you acted around him.
All you wanted was him and nobody else, you can’t count the amount of times you’ve ranted to Mindy about him. She always fake gags and rolls her eyes but she can tell you really care for him. If anyone was good enough for her twin, it was you.
Your phone buzzed in your lap and you checked it, it was a message from Isaac. Chad didn’t mean to look at it but he did. What was he supposed to do? It was right there.
Isaac
hey you almost done? I want to see you
Chad was visibly annoyed and you felt his arm tense around you. You looked up at him and gently asked, “Chad? Are you okay?”
“Hm? No, yeah, I’m good. Why?”
You shook your head, unconvinced at his response. “Cmon I want to talk to you about something.” You stood up and signaled for him to take your hand. He gave you a questioning look but took your hand and followed you anyway. You went into your room and heard Mindy whistle at you guys before you shut the door.
He wasn’t sure why but he was nervous. Not wanting to make anything more awkward than it already was, he spoke first, “Is everything alright?”
“I should be asking you that.”
“What do you mean?”
You sighed at his stubbornness and took a step closer to him. You looked at him and he looked everywhere but you. “Why wont you tell me what’s bothering you, Chad? Is this about Isaac?” You grabbed his hand and that plus the name Isaac got his attention. He looked at you with his eyes slightly wide and shook his head. “Isaac? No, of course not, why would you even think that?”
You rolled your eyes, “Chad every-time you hear his name you practically wince. Do you not like him?” He looked away again, “Chad, We’ve been best friends for years now, you know you can tell me, right? I wont take offense to it.”
Friends. He hated that word. He hated when you said it to describe your relationship. He knew you were of course, but he wants more than that. Maybe it was time to finally tell you. He began to speak before being interrupted by your phone’s notifications.
Your phone buzzed again. You tried to ignore it but it happened again and again. You rolled your eyes and took it out of your jean pocket.
“Isaac?” Chad asked you and you nodded before putting your phone on silent and sitting it on your desk. “I’ll deal with him later. Right now I’m focused on you.”
He scoffed at your words and that left you confused.
“You haven’t been focused on me for weeks, Y/N.” his voice was stern, “It’s been Isaac this Isaac that. I need to help Isaac. Oh sorry I’m hanging out with Isaac. You don’t have time for me anymore!” He didn’t mean to raise his voice at you and felt his heart sink at the look on your face.
“I’m sorry-“
“No, you’re right. I’ve been a bad friend to you, Chad and I’m really sorry. I don’t care about Isaac like I care about you. What can I do to make it up to you?”
He smiled and decided the time to ask you out would be now. What could go wrong?
“You could go on a date with me.” His voice was soft and quiet. You perked up and at first he thought your shocked expression was a disgusted one and was going to apologize before he saw the bright smile that appeared on your face. “I’d love to.”
“What? Really?!”
“Yeah, really.” You chuckled at his face. He was really cute when he was clueless. “Did you think I would say no?” Now it was his turn to laugh, “A little bit, yeah.”
You shook your head and kissed his cheek. “Of course not. I’ve liked you for years, dumbass.”
He was even more confused now. There was no way. You liked him? You were an angel, he didn’t think he could attract someone like you, you were perfect.
He looked at you and kissed you softly, you happily returned it and put your arms around his neck. When you both pulled away he kissed your forehead, “I’ve liked you too.”
“You’re hot when you’re jealous by the way, you know that?” you smirked while he scoffed and playfully rolled his eyes. “I was not jealous-“
“Yeah, Yeah, save it” You giggled and it was your turn to kiss him this time. He held your waist and pulled you closer to him. Now, you really were his.

Argenti also came home for me today too!! Congrats on getting him :) sending you a request for Argenti x reader - maybe where you saved his life and now he’s honour-bound to protect you/pay you back and finds himself falling in love with you as you travel across the universe together?
Okay, I like this! And thank you! My goodness I’ve been working on requests but it’s still been. Like. A month since I got this one, so…sorry!
Alright!
Let’s do it!
So I know we’ve seen that picture of the supposed One and Only, but idk I feel like it should be a big spaceship so that’s what I’m going with.
-Argenti: Honor-bound-
You wouldn’t have really considered it…saving his life…but the Knight seemed to think he was honor-bound to protect you, until he has saved your life, or repaid his debt by staying by your side for…well he said a time frame but to be honest you don’t remember what he said, and at this point you didn’t want to ask.
Maybe it would’ve been okay…if he wasn’t so…eccentric.
He’s very glued to your side. Literally as soon as you’re up and about aboard the One and Only he’s by your side, helping you get ready for the day. A.K.A. just following you around as you bumble through your morning routine, and doing stuff for you.
Of course you don’t really Want him to feel duty-bound to make you your coffee in the morning, among other various things he does for you throughout your day, but at this point you’re so used to it, and any argument you might raise is quickly shut down…
If there’s one word to describe Argenti it would probably be ‘insistent’. He’s insistent. Insistent you let him stay right by your side, accompanying you wherever you may go, whether that’s the grocery store, the movie theater, the park…doesn’t matter. He’ll go with you. To keep you safe. To protect you from all harm. To ensure you are happy and healthy. That’s his job as your loyal Knight of Beauty.
He’s kind of like a bodyguard when you think about it…
At first he thinks it’s just immense loyalty that he feels for you. Not love. It couldn’t be love. He’s already dedicated to Idrila…there shouldn’t be room in his heart for another.
And yet here you were, the two of you together…it’s becoming harder and harder to know what in the Universe it is that he’s feeling.
I think he’d know deep down that what he was feeling was affection…love…for you. He has this genuine belief that he can’t be with you because of his loyalty to Idrila.
So he just denies. Pushes it down. Tells himself that it’s for the best this way, that he was just your companion, never your lover. That was how it had to be.
The two of you remain travel companions, him undeniably loyal to you, looking for his chance to repay his debt to you.
But then the day comes.
He saves you from the Swarm. His debt is repaid. So why does it hurt his heart to see you packing your things aboard the One and Only, ready to go back to your old life?
The man even helps you pack, his heart aching at the thought of never seeing you again, the thought of no longer being your loyal knight, the thought of losing you.
You made it to your home planet.
You’re walking down the ramp with your suitcases, not able to look back at him. If he wants you to stay, he has to say it first. That was the rule you made for yourself. You didn’t want to be a burden to him.
“Y/n,” you finally hear once you reach the end of the ramp.
You let go of your suitcases, turn around, wondering if this was it, if the Knight of Beauty was finally going to tell you what you needed to hear.
He opens his mouth, shuts it again. You watch him change what he decides to say.
“Safe travels, my dear.”
Not exactly what you had in mind, but not the worst thing he could’ve said.
You run back up the ramp, wrapping your arms around the Knight and burying your cheek against the cool steel of his chest plate.
“I’m…I’m not ready to go…” is all you say, holding onto him tight, then feeling the sensation of him wrapping his arms around you, carefully, like he was afraid you were a delicate object that would break if he held on too tight.
Even Argenti knows what you’re saying. You want to stay with him. Stay by his side for at least a little bit longer. And how could he turn you away?

Tumblr media
Cherry blossoms are known for their existence to be short-lived. They symbolise transience, ephemerality. They fall to the pavement as quickly as they bloom.
Just like the cherry blossoms, your existence will be short-lived. You’re running on borrowed time, and you don’t know when that time will run out.
Every breath you take could be your last.
There is a peaceful quietness as you wander around the park, admiring the vibrant pink hues of the flowers in full bloom. The faint smell of the cherry blossoms waft through the air, and you watch as some of the petals fall to the pavement.
The quietness is interrupted by a dog bark. A white dog runs up to you, and you look at it, startled and confused. Suddenly, a boy who looks around your age runs up to you.
“I am so sorry about Maeumi,” he says, attaching the leash back onto his dog. “He’s a little energetic sometimes.”
You look at the boy, and something about him feels familiar. Those eyes – you’d recognise them anywhere.
It’s Yang Jungwon, an old classmate of yours. He was the head of the student council during your time at the school, and you remember him even though you weren’t exactly there much due to your illness. But Jungwon was always a kind person, helping out anyone in need. He was friendly, and popular. You knew that many people had a crush on him, including your friend Minji.
“Wait a minute,” Jungwon’s eyes narrow suddenly. Something seems to click, and he gasps. “You’re (Name), right? We were in the same class in high school.”
You’re surprised that even with all his busy duties in high school and with you constantly being away at the hospital, Yang Jungwon still remembers you.
“Yeah, I am,” you say, a small smile on your lips. “I’m surprised you remember who I am.”
“Of course I’d remember you!” Jungwon’s eyes seem to twinkle as he says the words. “We worked together on a project for biology once. Do you remember me?”
You chuckle. “Of course. Yang Jungwon. Head of the student council.”
Jungwon smiles. “Yeah. That’s me.”
There’s a brief moment of silence where you and Jungwon just look at each other, small smiles on both of your faces. Maeumi sits patiently as a few of the cherry blossom petals land on his fur.
“So… what have you been up to?” Jungwon asks you, looking genuinely interested. How are you supposed to respond to that? Because really, you’re not going to just tell him that what you’ve been up to is… hospital.
“Um… work. Got a job,” you lie, nodding. “What about you?”
“I’m a lawyer now,” Jungwon replies, and you smile. “Law. It suits you.”
“Huh. Everyone tells me that,” Jungwon runs his fingers through his hair to make it a little neater. “So… what do you do at work?”
“Writing. I… write.” Well, that wasn’t a complete lie. You do write, just… not for work. You’ve only been working on one thing ever since you got your diagnosis — it’s something akin to a diary, recounting your journey through the last 10 years of your life.
Maybe you’ll get to see it published before you’re gone.
“Oh, that’s so cool!” Jungwon beams. “I know your writing’s great. You wrote for the school newspaper, right?”
It seems like Yang Jungwon remembers a lot about you. You wrote occasionally for the school newspaper when you were well enough to actually write. You’re surprised he remembers that, and you’re quite surprised that he actually read the school newspaper — you thought that with his busy schedule, he wouldn’t have had the time to.
“I did. You have a good memory.”
“Thank you.” Jungwon cracks a smile. The boy looks at the cherry blossom trees, before returning his focus onto you. “They’re pretty, aren’t they?” he asks, and you nod.
“I like the colours.” you say, quietly.
“Me too.”
“(Name), Soobin just got an emergency at the hospital, so he’s had to leave– oh!” Chaewon suddenly appears out of nowhere, startling both you and Jungwon. “Sorry, I didn’t know that you were talking to someone.”
“Oh, it’s okay.” you tell your sister, who looks at you, then looks at Jungwon, then looks at you again. “Was I interrupting something?” she asks, with a small smile on her lips.
“We were just looking at the cherry blossoms.” Jungwon pipes up. “I’m Jungwon. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Chaewon,” your sister says. “Do you know my sister?”
“We went to high school together,” you tell her. “Jungwon was the head of the student council. I’m actually quite surprised he still remembers me, considering how… you know.”
“Yes. I know.”
Jungwon doesn’t know exactly what you and Chaewon are talking about, but it seems personal — and he wouldn’t want to pry. And, you keep mentioning how you’re extremely shocked at the fact that Jungwon seems to remember you.
But, why wouldn’t Jungwon remember his first crush?
Something about you intrigued Jungwon the moment you stepped into the classroom for the first time. It was seventh grade, and you had walked into the room with a small smile on your lips. Jungwon remembers you catching his attention instantly.
You two were partnered together for a project, and you both had quite a few pleasant conversations while working on the assignment. Jungwon remembers walking home with a giddy smile on his lips after he had gone to your house.
But gradually, you started to disappear.
Throughout high school, Jungwon tried to talk to you as much as he could. Problem was, you were almost never at school, and when you were at school, Jungwon always seemed to be busy.
So Jungwon was never able to get closer to you. He couldn’t get to know you better, or find out why he found himself gravitating towards you.
You didn’t even show up for graduation.
The last time Jungwon remembers seeing you was in class one day. You were wrapped in a puffer jacket, a hand warmer in your hands. You looked pale. Jungwon assumed that you might’ve gotten a cold.
He didn’t know that you were sick. He still doesn’t know that you’re sick. Nobody from high school knows, with the exception of Minji and Wonyoung.
He just assumed you were always busy with out of school activities. But he never forgot about you.
“Oh, that reminds me. Ricky’s hosting a reunion party next week for our year? We’d love for you to come.” Jungwon says, and Chaewon nudges you gently. “You should go,” your sister whispers to you.
“Oh, I… I don’t know. I don’t think people there will really remember me.” you murmur, and Jungwon shakes his head. “No, they will! Just come along. Here, I’ll give you my number, since Ricky’s still making decisions on which restaurant he’s booking. I’ll text you the details.”
You type in Jungwon’s number into your phone slowly, saving his contact. “It was really nice seeing you again. What a coincidence, right?” he beams.
“It was nice seeing you again too, Jungwon. I’ll… let you know if I go.”
“I’ve got to run along now, a friend of mine’s waiting for me.” Jungwon says, a small pout on his lips. “But yeah, text me! I’ll talk to you soon.”
“See you around, Jungwon.” you say softly, and the boy gives you one last big smile before turning around to leave. Chaewon looks at you with a wide grin on her lips. “Come on, you should go!”
“I don’t know,” you say hesitantly. You’re not even sure if people remember you. Or know you at all. You attended school less than 20 times in your last year — to be completely honest, even you found it strange that you graduated. “What if people are like ‘who are you?’ It would make things really awkward.”
“So? Jungwon knows you. Invite Minji and Wonyoung. There, you know four people. Come on, (Name). You should live your life to the fullest.”
As you’re nearing the end of the 10 years that the doctor has given you, you decide that perhaps Chaewon is right. You’ve spent years wallowing in self-pity, spending all your days at home when you could’ve been spending time doing things that you’ve always wanted to do. See people you never thought you’d see again. Go to places that you’ve always wanted to go to.
You take a deep breath. “Okay. I’ll go.”
And as a pink cherry blossom petal brushes against your cheek, you return home with Chaewon by your side, and the thought of Yang Jungwon in the back of your mind.
