How the Kamaboko squad helps you when you're sick

My headcanons on how I think the Kamoboko squad would take care of you when you get sick.

Posted on ao3 in my Demon Slayer Oneshots/Headcannons book!

■ Tanjiro

- Being the oldest of his family, Tanjiro has a lot of experience taking care of people as he has helped his mother with taking care of his siblings, especially when they're sick.

- If you're the type of person that tries to keep working and denies that you're sick (even if it's pretty obvious), he will hover over you and make sure you stop and rest.

- This dude will be bringing you healthy meals in bed, making sure you drink enough fluids, and cuddle you, all until you feel better.

If you're the vomiting type of sick, Tanjiro will hold your hair back for you (if it's long) while you puke it all out in the toilet.

- If you don't like taking medicine, then you bet Tanjiro's gonna be using some of the tricks he used to get his younger siblings to take their medicine on you.

- He will try to be by your side to help you get better as much as possible, but not so much that you feel smothered.

■ Kanao

- Being the younger sister of Shinobu and having lots of experience taking care of people in the Butterfly Estate, you know for sure she knows what she's doing.

- Kanao will be bringing you medicine and healthy meals that are specially made for when someone is sick.

- When taking care of you, she will be somewhat strict, but only if you're proving to be difficult and not taking the medicine or refusing to rest.

- If you're the vomiting type of sick, Kanao will help you when you're puking it out and will clean you up without batting an eye. If you feel bad about it afterwards, she'll reassure you with a smile and tell you that it doesn't bother her as long as you get better.

- Kanao won't hover by your side, but will keep tabs on how you're feeling and periodically check on you take sure you're okay.

- If you want her to stay by your side though, she will and you'll both just cuddle and/or she'll read to you.

- I also feel like she'll probably get you to take some vitamins after you've gotten better to improve your immune system and make sure you have less of a chance of getting sick again.

■ Zenitsu

- I don't think Zenitsu has a lot of experience taking care of other people but I do know that he will try his best to make sure you get better quickly.

- With his super hearing, he'll probably hear that your sick before you actually tell him. He can also tell if it's just a cold or if it's a fever by your heart rate, not just by taking your temperature.

- This boy will dot on you until you feel better. Want food? He'll get it for you. Feel headachy? He'll get you a cool towel for your forehead.

- Even though he himself hates taking medicine, Zenitsu will persuade you to take it, while complaining with you on how bad it tastes. (He may or may not have asked Tanjiro on how to trick you into taking the medicine, shhh)

- Zenitsu will be by your side all the time to make sure you're doing okay, if you need him for anything, basically smothering you in his worry and wanting to be by your side when you get better.

- He is definitely asking Tanjiro for advice on how to care for you though, because even though he's inexperienced in taking care of others, he really wants to do his best for you and want you to get better.

■ Nezuko

- Now with Nezuko being a demon, she can't really take care of you during the day, but when night comes she's doing all she can for you.

- Being the eldest after Tanjiro means she too had helped take care of the younger siblings and knows just what to do when someone is sick.

- She'll change the cool towel on your forehead for you, make sure you have water to keep hydrated, and monitor your condition throughout the night.

- If you wake up to go puke, Nezuko will be by your side helping you, and will help clean you up with gentle care too.

- If you're having trouble sleeping, then Nezuko'll cuddle you as you sleep and/or hum you to sleep with a lullaby, staying awake to make sure you get your rest and to make sure she gets back into her box before dawn breaks.

■ Inosuke

- This boy has never taken care of someone else when they're sick, being raised by boars in the mountains and all. That doesn't mean that he doesn't know how to in his own way though.

- Being raised in the mountains, I'm sure Inosuke has some homeopathic remedies that he used instead of regular medicines.

- He won't be actively taking care of you but will bring you little gifts to make you feel better like acorns or really pretty rocks he found.

- Inosuke will also eat with you in your bed if you can't really move that much without feeling nauseous. And if you get headaches then he'll be slightly quieter when around you and won't yell as often.

- Inosuke will check up on you sometimes to see if you're getting better but if you ask him about it he'll make up an excuse saying he's just trying to make sure his minion is ready to fight him yet.

- When you recover, Inosuke will definitely challenge you to a fight to make sure you're still strong enough to be one of his minions. (His way of making sure you're actually okay and feeling better.)

Hey, this is not a request but I wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your writing!

I first read your Kamoboko squad boys as your boyfriend headcanons and then your Kamoboko squad boys reacting to you being drunk and found them amazing!

I then read all your other posts and I must say that you're really really talented, in my opinion.

I never found a writer that I liked this much and your style is just so cute!

I look forward to see what's next and I hope your blog will do well because I feel like you deserve it.

Maybe I'd suggest doing more decorated posts (like with different text colors and fonts, various images/gifs per characters) because I feel like most people are more likely to read post that are more "fancy".

Yo as a demon slayer and hollow knight fan I absolutely ADORE your crossover au. Tell me more about it please

kay so im gonna list most of the things i remember.

- grimm owns the scarlet mansion which is this universe's equivalent of the butterfly mansion

- grimm has zero medical knowledge so brumm is the one that does the doctoring

- grimmchild exists and is grimm's tsuguko

- hornet uses scarlet breathing for a bit before switching to soul breathing (which is the equivalent of sun breathing)

- i might have to make an original spider character just so i can make a yoriichi like character

- hornet gets a needle instead of earrings as a family heirloom lol (debating on whether or not hornet keeps using it or asks her blacksmith to make a new one that looks like the original)

- i might make snail shaman be the tamayo of this universe? (idk my thought process was just bc they need someone to make an un-demon potion)

- i only have one hashira candidate and its cloth (im planning on pulling a rengoku with her and traitor lord)

- you know how kanao and genya are part of the kamoboko squad. im thinking that grimmchild and tiso are also part of hornet's squad (adding tiso bc he reminded me of genya)

atm thats all i have. but uh yeh. hopefully it wasnt much of a mess to read through.

Kamoboko squad + Kanao with a Eula Mc

Tanjiro Kamado

our bby is confusion

his crow sent him to an abandoned village and that's where he found you, fighting 5 demons

you already looked like you were about to pass out, so of coursely he was gonna help

after he had helped you, and turn to you to carry or atleast escort you to the butterfly estate

you kept on protesting and telling him that 'vengeance will be mine!' and saying that he's your arch nemesis

but your also saying that you're glad that he wasn't wounded

he was like:

though in the end he escorted you to the butterfly estate despite your protests

though everytime anybody helps you, he always get confused on why you swore vengeance on them

and become very upset when they irritatedly dismiss you

but when everytime you say vengeance he doesn't really smell any ill intentions

but that all stopped when he asked shinobu and mitsuri why they play along everytime you swore vengeance on them

now he understands what you mean by vengeance :DD

but he will have to teach you that you shouldn't say vengeance when someone does something to/for you

also he gets very very confused whenever you speak aristocrat(I'm not sure if I spelt that right srry)

so pls teach him

he once met your uncle and he doesn't like him(but he won't ever say it you since he might offend you)

that is until you kept on complaining about your bloodline

Zenitsu Agatsuma

okay, he thinks you're cute

except every time you threaten him with vengeance

he met you through tanjiro, and he was very jelly >:(

he gets very scared every time you 'threaten' him or a random corps member,

but the time he completely thought you were gonna have your deathbed early was when you swore vengeance to the wind hashira

he didn't met you through tanjiro or zenitsu, he just came up to you demanded a fight

would he try to learn how to understand whatever language you're speaking in? nope, but it does sometimes rub off on him. though.

whenever 'threaten' him with vengeance, he'll just assume that you're challenging him to a fight

you won obviously—

but he does demand a rematch so...good luck :))

he doesn't really care if vengeance to you means repaying the kindness back

but he has to admit....you're very cool and very badass when you fight

you guys are like the opposite but yet very similar–

RIP to any demon who dares fight the both of you together..

Kanao Tsuyuri

she looks up you and admires how you preform your duties so well

every time the both of you sparr, she really likes how you're very elegant,

she likes hearing you speak because it's very calming, but she gets caught off gaurd when you don't speak aristocrat.

the first time you both met, was when she caught you dancing near the pond, she thought you looked graceful.

she already knows what you mean by vengeance, but she's aware that not a lot of people don't

so she tries to shyly explain people that's not what you meant

she also gets you about the whole family problems

you guys don't bond over it but the both of you can understand each other so the both of you are very comfortable with each other's presence

though, you told her that if you ever meet her 'parents' then you will vengeance on them(as a joke bc it would ruin the reputation of the corps)

kanao's very aware you like keep your word so she took it literally.

so every time Oyakata-sama sends you somewhere that's near the slums she once lived in, she immediately raises her hand to volunteer instead

no amount of protests and convincing her to atleast let you join her can make her budge

so for the first time you swore vengeance on her...by doing all of her commissions in secret ;)

Rengoku family hc's

Hinata thinks Kyojuro's the funniest thing in the world

the tips of her hair didn't start turning red until after her first hair cut.

Shinjuro low-key cried when he met Hinata for the first time. Seeing his son who was just almost killed, harboring the most precious child with his wife who cherished the both of them made him envious but it made him so proud. He was glad to see Kyojuro live the life he wanted.

Senjuro doesn't stop visiting daily until Kyojuro is fully recovered and physically has to stop him from showing up.

Hinata clings to her uncle desperately as she gets older

her first words were Umai (Koyjuro cried for an hour)

as she got older, she started imitating the little noises Kyojuro makes

the two of them are inseperable

she loves story time, especially when you talk about eachother

she cried when she met the pillars, she only calmed down with Obanai much to everyones surprise.

Kaburamaru and Hinata are besties, Obanai HAS to come visit so they can spend time together.

Really likes crawling behind the turtles that show up from the pond behind your house

Hinata loves the outdoors so her and Kyojuro spend alot of time out there

When the Kamoboko squad come over for training she likes to watch.

doesn't like zenitsu, hes too loud

Should you trust them to look after a child/children? Pillars + Kamoboko squad HC's :

Pillars :

Tengen - Dresses them up in flamboyant clothes/jewellery, they are now officially part of his entourage... (may get a bit carried away, may also loose/drop [maybe both] one or two.)

Rengoku - As he is strong he's good at protecting them from threats and is popular because of his warm personality. Accidentally bursts their eardrums with his enthusiasm "HAHAHAHA! KAWAI!"

Muichirou - Even though he's a child himself I feel he would be good at looking after kids younger than him... in awkward silence...

Giyuu - Doesn't know how to look after kids, will try although I feel he may abandon them if they get too exasperating (in someone else's care of course). Probably acts like a tired dad.

Obanai - Probably hates kids and tries to stay away from them, but will reluctantly look after them if it is a necessity (at least they won't die ┐ (´ー｀ )┌). Expect a lot of "tch"-ing, children are probably fascinated with Kaburamaru... but are not allowed to touch him. (Sorry kids)

Mitsuri - Yyyyyyyyup! Loves kids and is great a looking after them. She loves squishing their soft cheeks and doting on them!

Sanemi - Scares kids and gets into lots of arguments with them. "What'd you say you little BrAT?!" I think he is secretly good at looking after children and will protect them because he is a massive Tsundere.

Gyomei - KING of child care, attends to all of their needs and is really dependable (His haori is made of dad material). He's large so he can hug multiple kids at once and perches them on his shoulders.

Shinobu - Knows how to take care of small children and can tend to all of their medical needs, has a light personality so she can keep them entertained. She'd be kind to them but may encourage mischievous behaviour (all we know is that Giyuu is a likely victim) - has some experience because of her past with Kanao and the young girls at the butterfly estate.

Kamaboko squad :

Inouske - Would be too busy screaming and asserting his dominance as lord inouske (￣ー￣) to properly attend to their needs. He will dangle them from one leg ("Threat assessment") then lets the rest of the Kamoboko squad (Kamaboko Gonpachiro) deal with them: "Underling number 4 is weak so your merciful lord Inouske has given you the job of protecting them!"

Zenitsu - Don't. Kids end up looking after him as he clings to them in the presence of demons (like he did with poor Shoichi). They probably become his wingmen/women and witness (whilst standing there, drowning in second hand embarrassment) his bumbling advances on Nezuko. Will protect them physically (unconsciously) and has a kind heart, but its not a risk anyone sensible is willing to take.

Tanjirou - What can I say? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ We watched the same anime. He's perfect with children, kind, gentle, and gets along with them (everyone) well, can look after them excellently because of the fact that he's experienced (as a boy with many siblings) and is more than happy to protect them from any threats. Best boy. ( • ̀ω•́ )✧

Could you make a oneshot when everyone (every demon slayer) is required to gather at the Demon Slayer Corps HQ for the hashira training announcement? Then basically Uzui asks the crowd if they have any questions, no one answers because they’re all scared of the hashira except for one sunshine boy who all of the hashira apparently simps for.

Tanjirou asks the hashiras where he will start, which basically starts a ww3 aka a simp war from the hashiras while the other demon slayers just gawk at the supposed ‘powerful and terrifying’ hashiras. The Kamoboko squad just facepalm at Tanjirou’s obliviousness.

- this is not related to cannon, so everyone lives

As everyone gathers in the hashira headquarters, Murata smiles when he spots Tanjirou and his friends. If he's being honest, he doesn't like the boy with the boar head at all and he's still not sure how Zenitsu managed to survive until now.

When he gets closer, he notices him trembling and grabbing Tanjirou by the haori as if somehow it can protect him from what's about to happen.

Even though he doesn't quite approve of his reaction, he kind of understands. The hashira have gathered all the demon slayers for a reason and is usually not a good one.

"Murata-san!" Tanjirou grins, looking at him with such kindness, he feels a little bit flustered for a moment. "I'm glad to see you again!"

"I'm happy too," he says and really means it, purposely ignoring the way the boar head boy is growling at him.

"Be nice, Inosuke," Tanjirou pleads and somehow manages to calm his friend down a bit.

"Do you know why the Pillars want to see u-us?" Zenitsu asks, letting go of Tanjirou's haori in order to sit next to a wooden box. His friends do the same.

Before Murata can say anything, a girl next to them grimaces.

"It's the hashira training!" She says, almost sobbing. "It's going to be hell!"

Tanjirou seems excited and Murata wonders if there's something wrong with that boy too because even though he understands that he'd like to become stronger, the fact that he doesn't seem to be afraid of the training or the hashira is really odd.

An overwhelming silence follows as the Pillars walk out the house and look around at all the demon slayers in the backyard. None of them look impressed.

Murata shivers, remembering the day he got scolded by all of them. They're all terrifying.

"As some of you know, we have decided to start training you. We need you to become better swordsmen so you can protect people against demons." The insect hashira says, always with a smile on her face, even though they all know she can be quite scary if she wants.

"The truth is that you are all disappointing," Shinazugawa cuts in, with a frown upon his face. "You won't stand a chance if you go on like this. This generation is really weak and–"

"That's quite enough, Sanemi," Kocho says with a smile. "You've made your point."

"You're being unfair, you know some of them have talent!" The flame hashira adds, prompting Shinazugawa to roll his eyes; it's probably a conversation they all have had a couple of times.

Murata notices that even though Tomioka is standing quietly a few steps away from the others, he's paying attention and looking around among the demon slayers as if he's trying to find someone.

"We will not have mercy on you," Tokito informs them suddenly, making the crowd shiver collectively. Actually, the only excited is Tanjirou apparently, who hasn't stopped smiling since he got there.

"So... Do you have any questions?" The sound hashira asks, taking a step forward. "But if you do, I hope it's a flamboyant one otherwise don't even bother."

Murata turns his head, not even surprised to find his fellow slayers trembling with fear. Of course, no one wants to attract attention to themselves.

Suddenly, he notices Zenitsu looking at Tanjirou like he wants to stop him from doing something risky.

"Don't, Tanjirou! They haven't seen you yet! Do you want to start a war?"

"What do you mean, Zenitsu?" Tanjirou mumbles, confused. However, he's already raising his hand. "Excuse me, I have a question!"

"There you are, Tanjirou!" Kanroji says dreamily, waving her hand at him.

"Hi, Kanroji-san, I–"

But Rengoku is already walking towards him, prompting everyone around to move out of his way in fear. He doesn't stop until he takes Tanjirou in his arms.

"Come, my boy! So we can all hear what you have to say!"

"Alright," Tanjirou nods, cheeks turning slightly pink at all the attention he's getting.

Even though Murata would be terrified if he was in his place, he starts wondering why Rengoku is being really soft with him.

"You can let him go now," the water hashira tells the other Pillar, who leaves Tanjirou on the ground reluctantly.

All the hashira gather around him and Murata looks in awe as Tanjirou grins up at them, looking completely relaxed.

The other demon slayers look as confused as Murata feels at the moment.

"I just wanted to know where can I start?" He asks excitedly. "I don't want to waste any time."

"What's going on?" Some people start whispering next to Murata. "Are they smiling? Why do they look at him like that?"

"Why is he not afraid of them?"

"He's weird... But cute though."

Murata looks again and swears for a moment he catches the Pillars looking at Tanjirou fondly.

"You start with me," Tomioka says then, at the same time another five hashira tell Tanjirou the same.

The Pillars glare at each other; Tanjirou looks confused while everyone else can feel the tension in the air.

Murata wants to run.

"That doesn't make sense, Giyuu," Uzui argues, putting a hand on Tanjirou's shoulder, making Rengoku narrow his eyes. "He needs to be with me first."

"They have forgotten about us, haven't they?" A girl next to Murata mumbles.

Tokito has taken a stone from the ground, he looks like he would like to hit the sound hashira with it.

Finally, Tanjirou does seem to notice something. His nose moves adorably as he sniffs the air.

"You're not... going to fight, right?" He mumbles, looking genuinely concerned for all of them.

The Pillars calm down immediately. Tomioka and Rengoku even smile at Tanjirou, trying to make him feel better.

"Of course not, we will decide this during a meeting," Obanai assures him.

"To see who gets to kee–train you first," Tokito adds.

"And train everyone else, of course!" Kocho smiles, looking around at the rest of them.

"It has always been like this?" Murata whispers to Zenitsu who seems to be one of the few people that know what's going on.

To his surprise, Inosuke is the one that nods first.

"So they... like him?"

"If by 'like' you mean that they'd like to spend the rest of their lives with him then... yeah, that's pretty much it," Zenitsu says, looking almost tired.

Oh... Oh no. Murata is sure the hashira training is going to be a lot more complicated than he initially thought.

So I cosplay Rengoku and my friend cosplays Tanjiro. We always joke about Rengoku being the dad figure to the Kamoboko squad, and she started calling me dad one day. I loved that Gyutaro x hashira!s/o ask and I wanted to request a part 2 where the s/o comes right after Gyutaro and Daki's head has been cut off and she attempts to turn them back but only Gyutaro turns back into a human. Later, he grows feverish as his body is unable to put up with the transformation easily. When he recovers completely, he blames the reader for Daki dying and gives the cold shoulder until the Kamoboko squad does something to get them back together and it ends with Gyutaro apologizing to reader and the both of them getting back?
