#jason would thrive in a show like this

i would genuinely love a red hood show like the harley quinn show. a feel-good, comedy series that follows jason coming back from the dead and becoming red hood, getting his crew, becoming a crime lord, interacting with the bats and the rogues- it would be so fun, i'm convinced
jason's dark humour, stupid moments between him and bruce (less angsty and more bruce being an awkward dad), cute dad-son moments between him and harvey where harvey brags about jason and jason being so over it, the other rogues being so irritated by jason because he keeps foiling their plans, harley and him bonding over how shitty joker was (he's dead), and overall jason just being super fun to watch.
because let's be honest, jason is literally the kind of anti-hero character who would be so engaging to watch as a main character in a dark comedy.

DP x DC Prompt
There are no more heroes.
Well, okay. Rewind a bit.
Danny has been doing the hero thing for a while now. He’s had a big reveal; everyone has accepted him (including his parents), the GIW disbanded, the Anti-Ecto acts repealed, and generally, everything is going great. Some of the A-Listers are even training as junior ghost hunters to help give him a break from his rogues! (Being Ghost King makes things hectic sometimes, and he just needs the extra help. Sue him!)
The point is, literally nothing is wrong with Danny Phantom’s afterlife.
And then Valerie Gray, the Red Huntress, disappears in front of his eyes.
Danny is baffled! She’s just…gone! Valerie just popped out of existence, like she was never there. But no matter how hard he searches in the Ghost Zone, he can’t find her soul anywhere. His core isn't broken in grief. So she’s not dead. Which is good. So then, where is she?
Some of the others come forward with ideas on how to find her. A few ghosts volunteer to go out into the mortal realm, an area Danny had declared off-limits, to see if she was out there. Danny approves it. He rounds up some of the friendlier (i.e., discreet) ghosts and Amity Parkers and demolishes the outside travel ban.
So everyone spreads out, looking for their dear frenemy and teammate. But it becomes apparent very quickly that something is wrong with the rest of the world.
There are no more heroes.
Every single living superhero on the face of the Earth has just…vanished. Villains are running amok; the countries are in chaos! Some aliens are invading Earth, mythical deities are trying to take over, and society is crumbling to the ground. Everything is on the brink of collapse.
Well, Danny was still there. And so were his people. They were pretty spread out, so could they just…take up the mantles? He also knew where to find the souls of dead heroes in the Zone; surely they wouldn't mind coming out of retirement for a little bit, especially if they couldn't die again. Oh! And that skeleton army leftover from Pariah Dark's reign might be useful in repelling those invading forces.
Honestly, there were more than enough hands to go around! And with the heroes gone, Danny didn't mind letting everyone out for a little break, as long as they followed his rules. They wouldn't stop the search for the other heroes, but hopefully, when they found them, the heroes wouldn't mind Danny's intervention too much. :)
In other words:
Someone fucks up, and all of Earth's living heroes are either wished out of existence or are whisked away to some far-off realm where Danny hasn't checked yet. In the attempt to figure out what's going on, Danny lets the dead run amok over the Earth as they search for clues. The skeleton army repels the invading armies, the souls of dead heroes deal with the world leaders, and his rogues and other Amity Parkers set up shop in place of famous heroes, trying to get the cities under control again.
Basically, they just do their best to keep everything from imploding until the Justice League and others are back.
(And why is it that Danny hasn't disappeared? Well, whatever caused everyone to go poof! only affected living heroes. Anyone heroes that were dead in the first place, or even just half-dead, stayed behind.)
#pondhead blurbs#danny phantom#dpxdc#reveal gone right au#ghost king au#for plot reasons#it doesn't count if the hero had died and then came back to life#lots of heroes would still be around then#but this is me pushing the halfa!jason todd narrative work with me here he deserves the fun#deadman is there too#and he's just thriving honestly. it's so nice to be around his own kind even if the world is ending#maybe ellie is whooshed away too cause she never technically died but she took up danny's moniker when he was crowned#vlad is ecstatic cause danny put him in charge of several states while they looked for clues including Wisconsin#skulker is replacing superman and just has a shitty S painted on his chest and just eats kryptonite like candy the first time he meets Lex#Kitty and Johnny take over in gotham and sam is now the new wonder woman#idk man just stupid stuff like this#the press is flabbergasted cause the fucking KING OF GHOSTS just showed up and he's 14 and just looking for some friends#Danny: hey guys sorry about the zombies and fire i'm just here to find my coworker and lil sister and maybe the other heroes#Danny: in the meantime i'll just let my army into the mortal realm to defend it while we figure out what's going on pls don't yell at us :)#the press: how do we explain this to the justice league when they come back. how do we explain that earth was saved by a 14 year old boy-#also idk which heroes are technically dead but are still kicking so if you feel like someone deserves liminal status slap it on them idc#some villains are trying for world dominance and some are just trying to find their buddies. their fight buds. where'd they go? :(#joker gets bitch slapped by a skeleton two days in and waylon becomes bffs with wulf#danny uses the watchtower as a base of operations and it's the only thing he doesn't want to give up when the heroes are back#i have no plot ideas beyond this#i just want everyone to be baffled that an army of the dead showed up while they were gone and just made sure everything stayed cool#later danny realizes he was technically the ruler of the world for a bit since his people were everywhere keeping the villains in check

Imagine Jason or Dick being jealous or pissed over Damian being a thirdwheel/cockblocked unintentionally with their gf lmao
That would be a funny sight to see. To make it worse, their gf loves spending time with Damian, viewing him as a smol tsundere cat-looking child that they want to kiss or nuzzle his cheeks whenever he's present lol. Of course with his consent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jason felt as though Damian had it out for him sometimes…
He couldn’t explain why as during the times that he did interrupt a sweet moment regarding you and him, they were few and far between for Jason to think that Damian was doing this coincidentally, but it happened too many times for him to count on one hand for it to not be apart of some grander scheme of his.
You however disagreed with that statement but Jason called you out on your bias towards his younger brother, meaning that your opinion was invalid.
You warned him that you wouldn’t cuddle him for a week if he tried that shit with you again…Jason was quick to concede to your demands because he honestly couldn’t live without your cuddles. But that didn’t change the fact that he truly believed that Damian not so secretly had it out for him, and it drove him to near insanity that he couldn’t prove it to you because Damian always acted prim and proper within your presence, clinging to your side from the moment you enter Wayne Manor up until you had to leave; all the wile acting like a demon spawn with him.
‘You feeling sleepy there chipmunk?’ Jason uttered softly upon noticing you trying your hardest to stay awake while mid-way through reading his book.
‘You’re being too comfortable Jaybirdie. I’m naturally going to fall asleep on you eventually.’ You murmured, snuggling closer into him to leech off of his warmth, pushing your head up so that it went from resting on his chest to resting against his shoulder and looking into his eyes. ‘Can I have a kiss?’ You asked. ‘What’s the magic word?’ Jason teased and when you pouted, he only chuckled and rested his forehead against your own, brushing his nose against yours. ‘I’m joking sweetheart, you can have all the kisses you want.’ He speaks lowly against your lips and just when he was about to kiss you, another voice spoke up from across the room.
‘Todd, l/n.’
‘Fucking- Jesus Christ.’ Jason flinched away from you and his eyes settled on Damian, who was stood at the end of the plush couch with a book of his own in hand, and asks. ‘Damian, what’re you doing here?’ You gave Jason a harsh nudge in the side along with a warning glare, only to visibly brightening upon seeing Damian. ‘Hi Damian! Don’t mind Jason he’s being a grump, would you like us to make room for you to sit down?’ Before Damian could get a word out you were already looking towards Jason and he groaned as he begrudgingly shifted to the other side of the couch.
‘Thank you l/n, I don’t know what Todd would be without your influence.’ Damian said as he took his seat in the space made available between you and Jason and cracked open his book that was filled with detailed descriptions of artists such as Claude Monet, John Constable and Jan Van Goyen just to name a few. ‘Unbelievable.’ Jason scoffed, looking anywhere other than you and Damian, impatiently tapping his finger against the arm on the couch for every second that Damian overstayed his welcome.
You however were thriving on the time you got with Damian as he showed you some of his favourite artists, telling you why that was while also information dropping interesting facts about art in general; You weren’t well versed in art and you weren’t claiming that you were but you silently thanked him for putting it into words that you could easily understand without feeling too out of your depth. After all it wasn’t very often that you visited the Wayne Manor but when you did, Damian was often the first -if not only- family member you wanted to see first and foremost.
‘You coddle him too much.’ Jason complained once after seeing you tightly hug Damian upon finding out he had come home from clearing a particularly dangerous mission all by himself. ‘I do not!’ You rebutted, crossing your arms. ‘Uh hate to break it to you chipmunk but you do in fact coddle him.’ Jason insisted, not liking the fact that he now had to share your attention with the little shit. ‘Then let’s ask him then.‘ you looked at your side where Damian was leaning against, minding his own business as he petted Alfred the cat’s black fur while the feline looked close to falling asleep. ‘Damian do I coddle you too much?’
Damian hummed as he looked into Jason’s eyes with a deadpan expression and said. ‘No you don’t, Todd’s just being jealous.’ And just like that he went back to petting Alfred the cat without a care to see the murderous look Jason was shooting him, all the while you were non the wise and were thrilled at the fact that Damian out right admitted to enjoying your company.
‘Isn’t he just the sweetest thing.’ You said to Jason who was gritting his teeth. ‘Oh ain’t he just.’ He spat and Damian smirked as he rested more of himself against you just to hear Jason growl. This was going to be a long weekend.
Dick Grayson didn’t mind Damian joining you at first, he even encouraged it purely out of the idea that Damian would get accustomed to your presence- thinking that it would form a bond between you- but Dick would soon learn that it would ultimately be his undoing.
‘Dick! Stop!’ You squealed as you poor attempts to push him away were dismissed as his hold on you tightened, pulling you further against him as he briefly put a stop to his bombardment of kisses to make a face of thought.
‘Hmmm let me think on that…I don’t think I will.’ He said as he continued to pepper kisses across your face to his heart content, all the while purposefully avoiding kissing your lips much to your growing dismay as you tried to steal at least one kiss from his lips, only to find yourself being unsuccessful in your many attempts.
‘Close but I appreciate a good attempt.’ Dick teased, pressing a kiss to your nose before cutely rubbing his nose against yours and choosing to keep his face close to your own, his lips becoming a smirk. ‘Though if a kiss is what you wanted, all you needed to do is ask and I would’ve happily obliged.’ He chuckled and pulled his face away when you tried to lean in for a kiss. ‘Stop pulling away.’ You whined and Dick couldn’t help but find it infinitely cuter when you tried to reach out to him, only for him to kiss the back of you hand before intertwine your fingers.
‘Then ask me to kiss you.’ He said. ‘Ask me to kiss you and then we’d both be happy.’ He adds on, not wanting to reveal how desperate he was for your sweet, sweet kisses just yet. However fate had other plans for him when Damian burst into the room and you had immeditly pushed Dick off of you so hard that he landed on the hard flooring of his bedroom.
‘Damian!’ You cheered. ‘How’s my favourite Wayne doing today?’
‘Your favourite?’ Dick groaned as he got up, rubbing his aching back as he looked over at the two of you, pouting. ‘I thought I was your favourite.’ Dick felt a little betrayed that you would easily discard him for his younger brother like you did, but knew that you meant nothing by it other then just raw excitement at seeing his younger brother after so long.
‘I’m doing well.’ Damian replied, giving you a small smile as he welcomed your tight hug before looking over at his older brother who looked like a kicked puppy. ‘Still putting up with Grayson and his dramatics?’ You dramatically slumped your shoulders. ‘It might as well be considered my full time job at this point.’ You joked, smiling upon hearing Dick’s gasp of disbelief.
‘I’ll have you know I am a delightful person!’ He defended himself, crossing his arms and looking away from you both. You and Damian shared a look. ‘Yeah a delightful pain in my ass.’ You whispered under your breath as you looked back at Dick while Damian smirked. ‘Are you still pouting?’ You asked.
‘Obviously!’ Dick exclaimed, throwing his arms in the air, ‘tonight was meant to be date night. Our night.’ He said, somehow managing to pout even further as he continued to glare as the opposing wall as though it had personally insulted him just now. ‘I’ll make it up to you so can you please quit with the dramatics.’ You said but Dick didn’t move and only huffed in response, showing that wasn’t good enough for him.
‘Wanna go for a walk Damian? Maybe that’ll help you with the lack of inspiration for your latest art piece?’ You then brought your attention back to the young man with the emerald eyes as he visibly perked up at the offer. ‘I could go for a walk.’ He replied and just before leaving the room he casted his eyes towards Dick. ‘What’s about him?’
‘Yeah what about him.’ Dick said sarcastically from his corner, causing you to look to the ceiling with a disbelieving smile upon your lips. ‘He can come but only on the condition that he stops being pouty.’ You said and for a minute it was silent until you felt a pair of strong arms at your waist and his face buried in your neck. ‘Only if we can go back to our regularly scheduled date night.’ Dick muttered against your skin. ‘Without Damian.’ He adds and you rub your hands over the back of his reassuringly. ‘Certainly my little dickie bird. No need to get jealous of your little brother now. It’s not a good look on you.’ You teased him this time and dick groaned. ‘Only when you stop encouraging his behaviour.’ He said.
You scoffed. ‘Says the one who was all for us having a bond.’
‘And I’ve learnt my lesson.’ Dick retorted. ‘There’s only room for one person in your heart and it’s me and I’m not sharing.’ You cooed as you pressed a kiss to his temple. ‘Careful there, you almost sound possessive.’ You taunted him, having way too much teasing him and giving him a taste of his own medicine.
‘So what if I am?’ Dick asked.
‘Then I’d say that you have nothing to worry about,’ you reassured him, picking one of his hands from your waist and kissing it before allowing it to go back to your waist, ‘you’ll always be my number one dickie bird.’
It was sad that date night didn’t go to plan but by the end of the night you, Dick and Damian were fast asleep on the couch with Dick flat on his back and holding you against his chest, while you held Damian against your chest and Damian cuddling up to the both of you and holding onto you tightly; deathly afraid of letting go but his grip going completely slack upon falling asleep.

Batman Prompt
Tim shows up at Jason's asking for a favor. He's going to be out of town for a few weeks (totally a case and not seeing if he can clone his spleen and reinstall it) and needs Jason to cover him.
Jason's like, I guess I can take a patrol or two.
Tim: No I need you to take over as acting CEO of Wayne Enterprises
Jason:...Is this a joke?
Tim: You are the only one in the family I trust with this.
Jason: How do you figure? Tim: Bruce will either ignore it or foist it off on the first available person. Dick can barely manage his own apartment. Babs is running everything else in the city. Cass is still not the best with communication outside the family. Steph would be hilarious, but I'd like the company to be there when I get back. Damian is, look I have a laundry list on that one ranging from too young to how he'd react the first time people insulted him for his age. And Duke I honestly don't know well enough to know how he'd handle it.
Tim: You, though? Have established and successfully ran your own business in a very competitive and overcrowded market, building your brand from the ground up.
Jason: Are you talking about me being a crime lord?
Tim: This is Gotham. Potato Potahto.
Jason eventually agrees, possibly resurrecting the Eddie Drake ID since his real one is still legally dead. And honestly? Tim was right. There's not much difference between running his criminal enterprise and Wayne Enterprises, except he can't threaten people with death.
Lucius is thrilled, the is the best example of a CEO doing their job he's has in years as Bruce was always more focused on his Batman things and Tim was both perpetually exhausted and fighting an uphill battle to get the shareholders and department heads to listen to him. Jason and the company are thriving.
Bonus the first: Bruce was unaware Tim had asked Jason to do this, showed up at a board meeting, and 'Eddie Drake' saw his chance to needle his dad.
Bonus the Second: A few weeks in an emotional Tim send Jason a worrying message apologizing for making Jason have to do such a horrible job, that he'd never be able to make it up to him, and he's sorry he had to do it. A few hours later Tim sends an apology for the prior message, explaining he was on the good pain pills, don't worry he's fine, and thanks again for doing this. And it makes Jason realize Tim's being CEO because he feels obligated to and maybe, maybe, he wouldn't be opposed to making this a permanent thing.

🦇 Surviving Damian: BatBro's Life 🎞️
Tumblr media
I don't know why, but the way Damian turns to look at Dick in this clip has me rolling
🦇 🎞️ A/N → A continuation of my Batbro Headcanons with everyone's favorite little assassin, Damian. This is also inspired by this post from @batsiblingfun. This mixes in a lot of different elements from different DC shows and movies, but still all tie together. Conner x Reader along with Damian x Raven included. WARNINGS: None really. family fluff, minor threats of violence. You and Damian conspiring together. Bruce needs his lawyers. Mentions of trauma and therapy. Joker being Joker.
🦇🎞️ Summary → It's one thing to find out Bruce Wayne is your biological father. It's another thing to find out you also have a half-brother from the same father who also didn't meet him until around the same time you did. Now, some would consider getting a new older brother to be a good thing. Of course, when they point out what they see as an ideal image of that, Damian Wayne is more or less far from it. Truthfully, you'd need an entire documentary to explain that trauma. But, in his defense, he did warn Bruce not to make him a middle child. Oh well...
🦇🎞️ Word Count → 5.3k
REBLOGS and replies are greatly appreciated, please! 💛
🦇 ENJOY 🎞️
Tumblr media
— Some may imagine having Bruce Wayne as your father entails a glamorous and extravagant life.
— "Oh wow! Your dad is Bruce Wayne? That's so cool!" "I bet you've been to so many great places." "Have you met any celebrities before?" "Your life must be so interesting!"
— To answer that, depends on the day. The watchtower is cool, but not as interesting as what you saw on that one trip to Puerto Rico. Would Superman even be considered a celebrity? And, define interesting.
— Because if you mean 'interesting' like waking up every day wondering if it's going to be some random supervillain that unalives you, or your own brother, then yes, your life is fascinating.
— What most people don't consider when they find out your father is Bruce Wayne is not only did you all of a sudden get a new parent, but you also got new siblings. As your eldest brother Dick once said, "I went from being an only child to living in utter chaos every day." The only difference is that Dick actually somewhat thrives in chaos. Which is weird considering you'd think it'd be someone more like Jason who lived by that statement.
— You, on the other hand, would rather go without the constant weird shit that goes on with your father and siblings all being a bunch of vigilantes who save your city and the world from crazy clowns and guys who clearly like to live every day like it's Halloween.
— But, the thing is, 90% of the shit you have to deal with doesn't even come from those creeps and villains. It's literally from your own house, specifically one person.
— At one point in your life, you wished to have a sibling. Someone you could share that irreplaceable bond with. Fighting over small stuff like the remote, or who got first dibs on Alfred's cookies. Only to kiss and make up later when one of you got bored or hungry. Insulting and torturing each other only to join forces if someone outside of you two decided to mess with the other. Coming up with crazy schemes that would inevitably shorten your father's life expectancy.
— You know, normal stuff.
— You'd think Dick would get the title of 'most stable' among your siblings, but surprisingly, that was awarded to Jason, which, I know right?! Mind you, 'stable' was being used on very loose terms here. But, Richard was almost more like a second dad than a brother, which you figured came with the role of being the oldest sibling. Since he had the most experience dealing with an emotionally absent Bruce, he'd pick up where he fell off. Of course, Bruce got better over time and learned how to not distance himself whenever his feelings got even a little poked, but Richard was always your go-to whenever you needed support.
— You'd almost considered Jason for the title of most unstable, but then you met Tim, and realized Jason was actually better than you thought, considering what he's been through. Your second oldest brother wasn't really open towards you, but as you two started to spend time together, you grew on him and vice versa. At one point, the Red Hood persona vowed to not only do everything he could to keep you safe but as innocent and pure as you could be. He would not let Bruce and his questionable parenting ruin another child. His earlier methods were probably not the most effective. CPS was still calling at least once a week.
— There weren't enough words to describe Tim. When you first came to the mansion, he seemed completely normal and sane for the most part. Then, after you discovered your father's side hustle, you realized how opposite the reality was. You remembered something your mom said about the only things she was scared of. "I only fear two things in this life; God and the IRS." Well, you'd definitely be adding a certain Red Robin to that list. There were just things Tim would say or do that he thought was completely normal, and you'd be discreetly dialing a mental hospital, fearing for your safety. Why did you know the number for one off the top of your head? Let's just say you had your reasons. But, you'd rather have Tim as an ally than an enemy, so you refrained. That didn't stop you from keeping them on speed dial though.
— Yes, you definitely had some interesting siblings, but none of them compared to your other brother. The one you regrettably shared blood with. Hopefully, he didn't hear you say that.
— It was one thing to have Bruce Wayne as a father. It was an entirely different thing to have Damian Wayne for a brother.
— The first day you two met, Damian had already been at the manor for a few months when Talia had left him with Bruce while she went to handle business. What business that entailed, your father kept you in the shadows, and quite frankly, you were grateful. After your mom left you on the manor's doorsteps with a note that just read, "Trust me, he's yours," your life was never the same.
— You remembered being excited that day. You finally got to meet your dad, and you got a brother out of it too! Multiple brothers and sisters actually! Whoever was out there listening to you had answered your deepest wishes.
— Now, you wished they just minded their damn business.
— Unlike Damian, you were not aware of your father's secret identity. So, when you met, you were a little more than put off by Damian's first greeting towards you.
— "Father, I thought we discussed your habit of  picking up street rats and turning them into your next apprentice."
— Truthfully, that was actually more than a pleasant start to your relationship with the trained assassin. When you eventually heard the story of how Dick and Damian "met" for the first time, you suddenly felt grateful at the fact there were no sharp objects nearby...that you knew of.
Tumblr media
— If you happened to start locking your bedroom door at night and setting booby traps to alert you if anyone came in while you were sleeping, that was no one else's business but yours.
— The thing was, you tried to connect with Damian, but he would keep brushing you off. Bruce really wasn't that much help as he didn't have the best track record with his first three kids.
— The issue was you and Damian came from two completely different backgrounds, despite your shared parenthood.
— Damian was raised among an organization of highly-trained assassins and was molded from the second he was born to take over from his grandfather who was the equivalent of an undead lich, only he was actually alive. You had a normal childhood for the most part. You went to school, made friends, tried different hobbies, etc.
— You saw Damian as uptight and weird, and he saw you as naive and weak.
— Of course, as everything does in this family, shit only got more intense.
— After Bruce ran a DNA test and confirmed you were indeed his son, they got you set up in the manor and your new life. Your last name was officially changed to Wayne with you wanting to keep your mother's surname hyphenated in there.
— You wanted to decorate your bedroom, so you asked your dad to take you shopping, fully intending to take advantage of your newfound wealth (your mother taught you well). Bruce figured it'd be a great way for you and him to get to know each other as he was trying to be more of the supportive dad that Dick and Jason lectured him about. And if CPS decided to give him another one of their 'visits,' he'd rather not provide them with any more reasons to be taking down notes. He was still trying to find a way to punish Jason for that stunt.
— And at Alfred's suggestion, he brought Damian along, thinking it'd be great family time for the Wayne men, and it'd give his firstborn a chance at being an actual kid since Damian never decorated his room when he first got there.
— You went all out. At some point, Bruce wondered if everything he was buying was starting to become too much, but you threw him the puppy dog look you mastered at three years old, and he folded like a lawn chair. Your mother had grown resistant to that trick so, it was great to finally be using it again. Posters, knick-knacks, a new desk, a whole gaming set-up, LED lights, a gaming chair, you name it, you got it. You'd even tried to get Damian to get a few things for himself, wanting to get to know more about your brother.
— "I don't need materialistic objects to satisfy myself like you and other low-lives do. Besides, you're only doing this to 'make up' for the more than likely poor life you lived before with whoever your harlot mother is."
— Alright, that did it. You tackled Damian in the middle of the mall, throwing all your weight on top of him. Of course, you were unaware of his combat training so he threw you off pretty easily, pushing you to the ground and twisting your arm behind your back to where he almost broke it. Bruce had to yank him off you and grab you as well to prevent you from charging him again while everyone else around was taking pictures and videos.
— Bruce's PR team was not happy with the stories and articles on the gossip websites the next morning. But, they managed to twist it around into a positive light, painting the Billionaire Playboy as the role model male, doing his best to raise his two boys as best he could being a single father.
— "Oh, he's such a family man. #EvenMoreAttactive". – @Supermom92
— "He's a good man, Vanessa. A good man." - @mooreswhore
— "This is what we need more of. Strong men taking charge in their son's lives." – @topalpha
— "#GladTheyAin'tMyKids." – @aynonymous
— Of course, this did nothing to help the relationship between you and the youngest Boy Wonder, but Alfred's reassurance eased Bruce's headache.
— "Truthfully, Master Wayne, it would seem to me they are already falling quite well into their new roles as brothers. It will get better over time."
— When exactly was better? Because things only seemed to get more tense between you two. The fights didn't end there. As you spent more time in the manor, you'd gotten to know your other adoptive siblings. And particularly, spending time with your second oldest brother, you'd learned some defensive moves in fighting that only led to your fights with Damian getting worse now that you could hold your own a little more.
— Only there were some moves that you knew that Damian didn't, which really caused a shit storm.
— It may have taken Dick and Jason's combined strength to hold Damian back from trying to literally slice your throat open after you introduced him to the art of the cheese neck. Jason thought it was hilarious and low-key well deserved since your half-brother decided to cut open one of the stuffed bears you had since you were four. Alfred was able to put him back together, but that didn't help the need for revenge you had in the pit of your stomach.
— Since he couldn't murder you, he decided to go with the next best thing he had in mind; mental torture!
— He knew you loved Scooby-Doo, but had a slight fear of some of the monsters and scenes from the show. Look, shit from back in the 70s could be creepy with how they decided to do specific stuff. And sadly on your part, Damian had amazing resources thanks to dear old Papa Bruce.
— So, one day when you thought Bruce was on a business trip (he was on a League mission, and Dick, Jason, and Tim were nowhere to be found along with Alfred), you had the manor to yourself. Or, at least, you thought you did.
— Let's just say Damian decided to place you in your own Scooby-Doo episode, only a tad bit more rated R. Last time you checked, the vampire from that one episode didn't actually have blood and guts dripping from his teeth while chasing Shaggy and Scooby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
— Yeah, Bruce low-key had to invest in a therapist for that one. And CPS definitely took a note down when they saw part of the costume had fallen out of a trash bag and your "concerning" reaction to it. Damian had no shame.
— "Next time, he'll think twice about whose neck he's slapping."
— "Master Bruce, I really do think they're starting to grow on each other, if I do say so myself." This time, Alfred's words were not reassuring for the billionaire.
— Eventually, you and Damian came to a mutual understanding. You stay out of his way, and he would stay out of your way. And it worked! At least until you found out the big secret, and no not the one where Tim...actually, never mind.
— It was an accident, really it was. At least that's how Jason and Tim tried to spin it when he had to explain to Bruce how you thought Red Hood and Red Robin broke into the manor. In truth, they thought you were at a friend's house studying, and the tracker that was stitched to your backpack showed that.
— Hold up... tracker?
— You'd grill them and your dad for that later.
— Now, you were constantly in the Batcave and working Damian's last nerve. You kept asking to help on missions or patrol, and shockingly, this was the one time when Bruce put his foot down and said no to having an adolescent child fighting crime with him.
— Who would've figured?
— The most he'd let you do was help Alfred with comms and computer stuff. Of course, that'd only lead to you and Damian getting into one of your brotherly spats over the comms.
— "At least I have competent training to be in the field. You can barely defend yourself against a cat." Damian sneered into his mic while roundhouse-kicking a thug.
— "First of all you stuck-up brat, Alfred the Cat and I have a lovely relationship and we were play fighting. Secondly, the only thing you're competent at is proving what happens when you forget to use protection!" You quipped right back.
— Dick and Tim tried holding back their laughs while Jason just shouted "DAMN!" Bruce had to pretend not to notice Damian's glare through the domino mask and Alfred pretended to scold you while giving you a fist bump. The Boy Wonder was grinding his teeth.
— Then, a miracle happened. Well, really it was a traumatic experience that Bruce would have to pay for more sessions with your therapist but still was a miracle in the end.
— In another one of his crazy schemes, Joker decided to target Bruce Wayne again, but this time, the newly discovered heirs to Wayne Enterprises, at least, that's what the media was referring to you as.
— He hired some goons to abduct you and Damian from your school and hid you both in one of his many secret hideouts around Gotham. And Joker, never one for subtlety, of course, decided to send out a televised message to Brucie Poosie, a name disturbingly similar to Joker's nickname for Batman. He'd addressed that later.
— Your father and siblings immediately jumped into action of course and started searching the entire city, checking all of Joker's known hideouts and connections. Only, Joker had apparently taken some inspiration and notes from Riddler because while he was busy taunting and trying to shake down Bruce Wayne for everything he could, he was leading Batman and his little birdies (his nickname for all the Robins) on a wild goose chase.
— The more and more time went by, the more and more they got worried for you. Of course, they were worried for Damian as well, but he was used to these kinds of situations. This was your first (and frankly, probably not last) kidnapping.
— At first, you weren't scared (much). No offense, but, Joker always kind of seemed like a joke to you. The fact his whole persona was based on a mad clown really didn't help. You had also never really watched the news or heard people talking about some of the horrible things he had done. You always just heard the part when Batman swooped in and kicked his ass.
— Well, if you made it out of this, you'd definitely have nightmares and a new fear of clowns to add to your list. May have to start considering two-hour sessions with your therapist.
— But, to your surprise, Damian had helped to keep you calm and protected you from seeing more of Joker's 'fun side'. Whenever the clown or one of his thugs got a little too close to your holding cell for your brother's liking, he always placed himself in front of you, just in case they decided to fuck around and find out so he could be ready.
— When the green-haired villain went on one of his disturbing tangents or talked about his plans for you two in case your father didn't follow through with his demands, Damian would cover your ears. Of course, it didn't do much, but the sentiment was appreciated. Your older brother, despite his 'quirks', actually did have a caring side to him. It just took being kidnapped by a psychotic clown and your lives being in terrible danger for it to show. Go figure.
— Of course, your father and siblings eventually tracked you and Damian down and came to your rescue. From what you had seen from your father and brothers in their fighting style, they always were more smart and sneaky with their attacks and ambushes. Jason was more of the impulsive and brash one who liked to rush in, but he grew more into the Bat's style over time. Especially seeing how the last time he rushed into something concerning the Joker, well, there's no need to go down that road.
— But, nope. This time, Bruce was not forgiving with his 'justice' towards Joker. Honestly, you and your siblings were a little worried that Bruce would break his number one rule on no killing for the first time, but he still held back. In the middle of all the chaos, you'd even managed to surprise Damian when some goons tried to surprise you and him after he broke you guys out of the cell. And who said video games couldn't teach you a thing or two about fighting?
— Damian was impressed, and more than curious to see what kind of games you were playing that taught you the fastest way to incapacitate a 200-pound man with a few jabs and well-placed strikes. That or you were insanely lucky to have a man who could barely defend himself against a child. Either way, a win was a win for you.
— Obviously, things changed a bit when you two returned home.
— For one, your family became a lot more clingy and overprotective than before. And that was saying something considering they had a tracker stitched into your backpack without your knowledge before. There was a rotation between the brothers of who would drop off and pick you up from school. This was already a rule before, but now, it was just even more intense with you not being able to leave the manor or go anywhere without someone from the family accompanying you. Bruce started training you in self-defense and combat, with regulations and supervision from your brothers so he didn't make the same mistakes he made with them with you.
— You appreciated it all, and it definitely did help you feel a bit safer (in the beginning), but, really one of the most shocking changes not just to yourself, but everyone else was Damian's change in attitude toward you. Of course, he wasn't outright hugging you or anything crazy like that, but he was more cordial and almost friendlier you could say.
— It was also very apparent Damian had developed a similar protective stance toward you. You being the only non-vigilante in the family meant you kept an aura of innocence and light-heartedness the rest of your family had lost a long time ago. They were more than determined to make sure you kept that light and never lost it like they did so many years ago.
— Thankfully, your time with Joker wasn't anything too traumatic. Joker was actually on one of his schemes for once and didn't do anything too drastic. But, that didn't stop your brother from glaring down any suspicious figure who got too close to you for his liking. If you asked to hang out at a friend's house, Damian took over Bruce's role of asking for details on your friend, they're parents, where you'd be going, and all that extra stuff. If you were aware of the fact that Damian was running full background checks on your friends and their families whenever you went to hang out with them, you pretended not to notice.
– Bruce also had a teary moment of being a proud father seeing how Damian was showing already to be just like him. Which, if we're being honest, was actually a terrifying thought.
— But, it wasn't just Damian who started making an effort to build a more friendly bond between you two. You'd contributed as well. Showing Damian the ways he could learn to let loose and actually be a kid instead of a trained assassin all the time.
— You'd invited him more than once to hang out with you and your friends that you made from school. Hesitant at first at the idea of hanging out with others that weren't you and his family, you managed to convince him when Dick, Jason, and Tim got into one of their own brotherly spats, and Jason decided to start chasing the two around the house with a rag wet with a 'mysterious' substance.
— "Your local comrades quarters it is then." Damian muttered before quickly ushering you out the door with Alfred towing behind since you needed someone to drive you. Damian offered since he kept claiming he knew how, but Bruce still wasn't going for it.
— With your help, Damian actually learned to make friends with kids his own age. He developed hobbies and interests that had nothing to do with anything sharp or pointy (that didn't mean you weren't gonna booby trap your room still just in case).
— He even joined an art club at school and you both decided to enroll in a martial arts club together as well. It'd actually become quite the inside joke between you two. There was one guy in there, Carter, who swore he was the best fighter in the entire school and he could take any one of these 'runts' down, including you and Damian.
— Now, you were still learning and getting comfortable fighting from your lessons with your dad and brothers. When Carter decided to pick on you and Damian as the Wayne brats and challenged you both to a sparring match, boy he did not know what he was getting himself into. Especially when you and your brother looked at each other with the most mischievous evil smirks anyone had ever seen.
— When Bruce got a call from the school later that some parents were looking to try and sue him for the 'extensive harm' his kids did to their kid, he could only raise an eyebrow when you and Damian appeared in his office, smiling like you both were innocent angels.
— "See, Master Bruce. I told you if you'd given it some time, they'd grow on each other." Alfred said to him later that evening.
— Only Bruce was now more concerned than ever. When you and Damian basically hated each other, he only had to worry about the terror and havoc you two would unleash inside the manor. Now, that you were basically best buddies, he'd have to worry about inside and outside the house.
— "I'm gonna be meeting with my lawyers more frequently, aren't I Alfred?" Bruce asked.
— Alfred gave a small chuckle as he patted the man's shoulders. "Oh, Master Bruce, most certainly."
— The butler wasn't wrong.
— You and Damian became like a force that everyone was scared to cross. Even your own brothers were slightly afraid of the kind of shit you two could get into. You'd come up with the crazy schemes and ideas, mapping out any and all details while handling any technological stuff which you had gotten really good at considering the time you spent with Alfred in the Batcave monitoring missions. And, Damian would do the more physical acts required as well as sneaking and sleuthing around if need be.
— Bruce had a meeting with his attorneys at least once a week because of you two.
— You'd even developed your own sense of overprotectiveness over your older brother. Some guy in the art club Damian had joined at school decided to try and pick with him and messed up one of his paintings. Surprisingly, Damian was calm about it and didn't even yell or react at him. Just scoffed at the guy and called him pathetic.
— You did not have a similar reaction.
— When word got around the school and managed to reach your ears, you were for lack of a better word, feeling quite revengeful. The next day at school, that guy became the laughingstock of your entire class when a private photo mysteriously made its way into every student's locker in your grade.
— When Damian found out, he immediately confronted you about it, and you could only smile innocently while feigning ignorance.
— "Why, brother?! How could you even think to accuse me of such a vile act of one's breach of privacy."
— "Y/N..." Damian said.
— "Fine, it was me. But, you have to admit, it is quite a lovely picture. And besides, nobody messes with my brother except me." You smiled.
— Damian only gave a small smile, grabbing you to give you a noogie on the head before walking for the exit of the school to head home. He tried not to let such a small statement get him overly emotional since he'd never really had anyone before you and your family be so caring and defensive over him. Not even his mother.
— The older you two got, the more close you became. At one point, Dick even started to joke that if one of you had gotten involved in some stupid and even dangerous plot, it wouldn't be long before the other got involved as well.
— "You'd even given yourself the nickname of the Blood Brothers since you and Damian liked to remind your other siblings more than once who Bruce's actual kin was, especially Dick whenever he went on one of his tirades about being the first Robin blah blah blah...
— Tim did happen to point out your chosen name's disturbing similarity to one widely known supervillain to which you scoffed in response.
— "Oh please, Brother Blood wishes he had half the brains and looks me and Dami have. Isn't that right, bro?" You said turning to Damian holding out a fist bump.
— "I refuse to get involved in this."
— And given your bond with each other, it was of course all too expected that you would each get involved in each other's love lives. When Damian was sent away to Titans Tower to learn how to be part of a team, you were very pissed at Bruce since he was breaking up you and his team.
— Honestly, Bruce hadn't even considered that, but he was happy and looking forward to the much-needed break from his weekly meetings with his lawyers concerning his sons and their growing stack of attempted lawsuits.
— It was a shock to not only you but to Damian from how you knew when he returned from the tower on a visit, and you asked "Who is she," with your arms crossed and tapping your foot against the ground.
— From your daily calls and messages, you'd picked up quite fast that Damian was crushing on someone, you just didn't know who. You figured it may have been that Tara girl you heard had joined the team, who should consider herself lucky she succumbed to her own fate and not the one you'd planned for her after finding out what she did to your brother and his comrades.
— Superman and Wonder Woman were still campaigning to put you on the League's high-priority watch list after hearing and witnessing some of the things you got up to with and without your brother. So they and everyone else in the League who had the fortune (or misfortune) of meeting you had no qualms that whatever you planned for the blonde earth-powered girl, was nothing short of maniacal.
Tumblr media
— When you found out it was Raven after your dad brought you along to Damian's surprise party at the Tower with the rest of the team, you managed to get a chance alone with the half-human, half-demon girl, exchanging some friendly banter and humor. You'd also jokingly (but also not jokingly) warned her that if she hurt your brother in any way shape or form, you'd give her a fate worse than anything her father could ever imagine.
— Weirdly enough, she smiled and gave you a pat on the shoulder.
— "I promise, you don't have to worry about anything from me. And, I can see now why he cares a lot about you. You both protect each other."
— To which you replied with a simple, "He's my brother." Nothing else needed to be said between the two of you. You both were aware of Damian's past, you more than Raven of course, so you knew Damian sometimes needed some extra care and love. You could clearly see that was something she had every intention of making sure he got.
— You approved.
Tumblr media
— Now, if only you could get Damian to approve of you and Conner.
— Let's just say, neither your father nor your brothers were anywhere near please when they found out about you and the half-Kryptonian's relationship.
— Dick just couldn't fathom that both of his baby brothers were dating someone from the two teams he helped co-found.
— Jason didn't like that you were dating someone he couldn't really intimidate or threaten the way he wanted since the dude was a literal teen Superman.
— Tim was oddly okay with it at first. But, when you started abandoning him and your regular scheduled gaming sessions for your dates and hangouts with Conner, he was more than ever determined to take down the half-Kryptonian.
— Damian didn't like the idea of you with someone so much stronger than you and could hurt you very easily. To which you pointed out he was dating a half-demon whose father has more than once tried to take over the universe and she almost helped him in succeeding.
— "Not the point, little brother."
— You did have to warn your boyfriend though, because, unlike your other brothers with the exception of possibly Tim, Damian had his own hidden secret cache of Kryptonite for emergency if it was ever needed.
Tumblr media
— How you knew?
— Well, after you and Conner announced your relationship, you noticed your father and brother consistently making trips to the vault where all the Kryptonite was stored. And, you once caught your dad making a smaller version of the 'special' jewelry he used to fight Superman that one time, which you figured had to be for Damian.
— "Oh come on! I don't see anyone walking around with crosses and holy water whenever Damian goes out with Raven. But, y'all are ready to pull out all the stops whenever Conner and I even look like we're about to hug!" You yelled at your family.
— Damian stepped forward, placing what was supposed to be a comforting hand on your shoulder.
— "I do apologize brother. But, you should really be blaming Father for this, since I did technically warn him what would happen if he made me a middle child.
— "He did." You heard your father's day from behind.
— Someone really needed to make a documentary about your life.

Babies shouldn't grow up ☆ Jason Todd & GN!Reader (PT.4)
Tumblr media
What does Jason do as he raises his kid lovingly like he wished he'd been raised? Try his best and fail spectacularly to keep his nosy family away, of course. [PART ONE ♤ PART TWO ♤ PART THREE ♤ PART FOUR ♤ PART FIVE ♤ PART SIX]
Pairings: Platonic Jason Todd & Child GN!Reader / Batfamily & Jason Todd
After about a year and quite a few months, maybe around the second christmas Jason spent with you, Jason became antsy
The problem wasn't with you two, no
You were his angel and almost never caused him any trouble, even if he'd always call you brat and squirt
The problem was Bruce and Dick and his entire nosy ass family trying to find out why hadn't he come home for christmas a second year in a row
Not only that, he also had cut back on many other activities he'd usually do with friends or his family
Like taking over patrol shifts for others, hanging out with Roy, visiting the manor to see Ace and Alfred, and gossiping with Babs
C'mon, you know he's totally the type to think his kid is so much better than everyone
You're his damn best friend, his confidant, the person he trusts most in the world and would die for in a blink
So Jason wouldn't even notice he was neglecting every other person in his life until they started blowing up his phone and trying to break into his apartment
Like the fucking demon brat did
Damian tried, at three in the morning, with his katana and everything
His excuse? He was tired of everyone talking about why Jason was growing distant and decided to solve the mystery by infringing his privacy
Jason's excuse to grabbing him by the collar and throwing him out of he window before he could take another step inside? You had classes that day
And children are supposed to sleep a lot to grow
He thought that'd be the end of it, after properly threatening every single one of them into staying the fuck away from his home
but then again, Jason should've never put faith in people who are nosy for a living
So he started having to hide you during the day when the two of you hung out
Jason took you to Bat Burger after a rough day at school? Dick conventionally shows up minutes later! And you hide under the table
Jason and you were taking a morning walk to start the day? Surprise! Cass is suddenly coming your way. And you're jumping into a bush (he helped you take the twigs out of your hair later but laughed the entire time)
You finally convinced Jason to watch the latest superhero movie that just came out? Ho, boy! Look, Duke just so happened to also have been wanting to see it! Aaand you have to pee real bad
For you it's like a game, never let the Waynes catch you
The rewards are many; head pats, Jason's laughter, a hardcover book that you had been eyeing
The consequences of failing...?
That was the scary part for Jason
He'd spend nights thinking about it after tucking you in bed
Would they take you away? Would they think he's abusing you? Would they be disappointed in him for thinking he could be anything else but a disappointment?
Irrational and emotional, those thoughts were, but you were the life of Jason's life
Fuck, you're the one person he hadn't let down yet
The one person he didn't disappoint or hurt
You thrived every day, growing up and putting on weight, learning more every moment because you had a thirst for knowledge just like him
God, every time you looked at him like he was your whole world
Like he was your damn hero
It gave his life a little more meaning
He wanted to keep you safe, watch you grow into a beautiful person, better than he could ever hope to be
But he also wanted you to stay being his
His kid
Not taken away by protective services or recruited into Bruce's little army of children
So imagine how his stomach dropped when during one fateful night, as he helped you with your haircare routine
–Jason sitting on the couch and you between his legs on the floor, your back to him–
his door opened up, was picked open, and a good portion of his family (Dick, Damian, Stepth, and Bruce) waltzed in like they fucking owned the place
There was no way to hide, both of you caught off guard
"Jason! Games' over, buddy, we're here now–"
"Is– Is that a child?"
"What the fuck."
Jason was torn between taking them on on a 4v1 or pulling you in his arms and jumping out of the window
You chose for him, quickly climbing on the couch and hiding away under his arm, almost completely covered by his bulky form
You're not a coward but you're also not good with people like you are with Jason
You also don't exactly like the big bat after everything he did to your da–
To Jason
"Tell me you didn't kidnap a child, Jay."
"No, Steph, I didn't fucking kidnap anyone–"
"Is this why you didn't let me in? I expected better from you, Todd."
"You fucking brat– Can you just leave–"
"No, no, hang on, am I an uncle? Oh, my god, am I? Holy shit, I am!"
"You're not a fucking uncl–"
"Jason, explain."
And oh, how that terrified Jason
He hated the way Bruce was staring at you, like you were a puzzle, something he needed to figure out before he could ultimately collect
It almost made Jason snarl like a wounded dog
You were his kid, god damn it, and Jason would be damned if he let Bruce take you
So he swallowed his fear and clenched his trembling hands and made everyone sit down before he explained
He asked you if you wanted to go to your room, just in case you didn't feel comfortable around them, but you shook your head
"I don't wanna leave you alone."
"...Okay, okay, squirt, what you say goes."
None of them missed the way Jason easily wrapped his arm around you, tucking you close, and how you hid you face partially in his shoulder, glancing at them with one eye
And so, he began telling his tale
Interrupted only a few times because Dick couldn't shut the fuck up to save his life and Damian thinks being insufferable is a good personality trait, Jason finally let the cat out of the bag after about two years of keeping it hidden
"Why didn't you come to us? We could've helped."
"Helped? Bruce, look at the demon spawn, he sleeps with a knife under his pillow and he's, what? Thirteen? This kid here sleeps with a Garfield plushy, like children should."
At that, you slapped his shoulder (it still didn't hurt) and all Jason did was chuckle and kiss your forehead
It was jarring for all of them to see such a soft version of their most volatile family member
In fact, they could now see how the entire apartment had changed
No longer was it a... mojo dojo casa house of sorts, but a cozy and welcoming environment
Shit, the fridge even had cute magnets on it to hold all of your drawings
Frames with pictures of you two were placed everywhere, along with your awards from school and his own additions like a couple of plants and vinyls on the walls
It stung a little to know he'd kept a whole child away from them for so long, to know he didn't trust them enough
It especially hurt Bruce, since technically this was his first grandchild
All in all, everyone eventually fell silent, one fuming, some curious, and others brooding
Until you broke it by finally speaking, tilting your head until you were looking directly into Batman's glowing eyes
"I don't care if you're Batman or Bruce Wayne, if you hurt Jason again, I'll kill you myself."
To say Jason was proud was putting it mildly
He was so ecstatic he could make that day a national holiday
Jason ignored the rest of his family freaking out about how you knew Batman's identity and hugged you close, squeezing you gently
"Fucking love you, kiddo."
To be continued...

Halloween Traditions Tim/Danny
Danny smiled to himself as he watched Violet run across the room doing flips and cartwheels excitedly. He glanced over at his husband and snorted.
“Are you seriously still pouting?” He asked, arching an eyebrow at the vigilante. Tim let out a huff and crossed his arms over his chest.
“I wanted her to be like a princess or I dunno like a robot or a zombie!” He grumbled angrily, still watching their daughter dressed in her gaudy and obnoxious costume. When the lights of their home hit it just right, the sequins seemed to shine right in Danny’s eyes. Silently, he agreed with his husband. Out of all the costumes in the world, Violet really had to pick this one for what she wanted to be for Halloween. But they were encouraging parents, they had to let their daughter choose what she wanted to make her happy. And apparently, this costume made her happy.
“I understand but we should have known better than to show her the costume with the sequins,” Danny said with a wince as Violet giggled and flew around their heads. The four-year-old was beyond happy to go trick or treating tonight with her uncles. The four men were going to be there any minute now and Danny had a feeling that Violet would get quite the reaction from her costume once they got here.
Truly, Dick had outdone himself this year.
It had turned into a tradition for the Wayne family upon the birth of their first niece. Each one would gift the Nightingales a costume of their vigilante personas for Violet to dress up as. On her first Halloween, she was only one month old and Danny and Tim had decided to ignore all of the costumes gifted to them and dress her as her namesake. She had worn a beautiful little violet flower costume.
The next year Violet was one and the couple had again vetoed all of the vigilante costumes and instead dressed her up as a potato. Something that no one found funny but Tim and Danny but it was fine, they thought it was genius.
When she was two the couple had dressed her up as a ghost, again no one was amused but the couple, but they were thriving with getting to choose their baby’s Halloween costumes and ignore all of the horrible vigilante costumes thrust at them by their family.
Her fourth Halloween Violet had gotten old enough to actually make her own decisions for her costumes and had declared happily to her parents that she wanted to dress up like a unicorn which of course her parents happily obliged.
This year, though, Dick was a traitor. He was a horrible scumbag of a man and Danny knew that Tim would never forgive his eldest brother for this slight against their family. He had managed to worm his way into becoming Violet’s favorite uncle and not only that, but he had shown her the wonders of Discowing.
And somehow that had been all Violet was able to talk about this year was her desire to be sparkly like her Uncle Nightwing. And that was the biggest kick in the teeth for the couple.
Danny had taken one look at the costume and he had been horrified. Tim had nearly sobbed in horror upon seeing the atrocious get-up. And what was worse was the fact that Dick brought his old Discowing costume out of retirement to match.
“People are going to see Dick as Discowing and they’re going to immediately make the connection that he’s Nightwing,” Tim said with a sigh.
“I doubt it, Jason said he’s going as a zombie, Duke is going as the sun, and Damian said he’s going to be dressed up as a pirate,” Danny said with a soft laugh. “I think it’ll be enough to keep people from thinking that Dickie Grayson is Nightwing. Not everyone is as smart as you are Dear,” he said, pressing a kiss to Tim’s temple. Violet dropped from the air and landed in Tim’s lap just as the doorbell rang and the front door burst open just a moment later, the four brothers barging in without a care in the world.
“Daddy you caught me!” Violet giggled, staring up at Tim with her beautiful blue eyes. Danny just smiled down at her for a moment. The two had discussed having their little ball of ghostly joy for nearly a year before Danny had decided to get off of testosterone to have her. They had weighed out all of the pros and cons of raising a daughter and had found themselves wanting a child more than anything in the world and a year later, the twenty-two-year-olds had found themselves with the most perfect ball of joy.
“Violet!” A voice screeched, shaking Danny from his reverie and he groaned as soon as he looked up to find Dick bounding towards them to grab the four-year-old and pull her into his arms. He looked just as obnoxious as Danny was suspecting he would.
“Are you seriously going to go out in that?” Danny asked staring at the get-up in absolute horror.
Dick grinned and stuck his tongue out at Danny for just a moment before he turned his attention to the little girl in a matching costume.
“Is there anything we need to know before we take Violet out for trick or treating?” Damian asked, ever the most mature out of the Wayne boys.
Danny smiled. “Just keep her safe at all costs and make sure her grandpa remembers that she’s staying the night tonight,” he said softly, carefully wrapping his arm around Tim’s shoulders. He was sad that he was missing out on Halloween, just as he was every year since they had their daughter. But it was unfortunately unavoidable.
This was the time of the year when the veil was at its thinnest and therefore Danny was at his most unstable. He could barely keep his human form together the week of Samhain and Tim was stuck on guard duty to keep Danny from losing control. He was armed with an improved Fenton Thermos and was given strict rules to soup Danny if his powers started to fritz out even a smidgen.
“And what about you Ghostie?” Jason asked, walking over. Danny took a moment to take in his brother-in-law's costumes and couldn’t help the snicker that came from him.
Jason was covered in green paint and fake blood, spirit gum covered his face like rotting skin, and his clothes were ripped and raggedy. Duke was dressed in a bright yellow jumpsuit, a headband covered his head in bright yellow that looked like sun rays. Beside him, Damian was wearing the fanciest pirate costume that Danny had ever seen and he was pretty sure that his sword was real.
“Please don’t let Vi get close to the sword,” Danny said with a sigh before he looked back at Jason. “I’m fine, as soon as you all leave Tim is going to throw up the ghost shield and we’re probably going to watch some movies or something,” he said just as the room covered itself in a thin layer of frost and Danny winced. “My powers are a little on the fritz but hopefully we don’t have a repeat of what happened last year.”
Everyone winced at that and Danny had enough decency to look slightly embarrassed. The year before he and Tim had been having a rather quiet night when Tim had accidentally scared Danny and his ghostly wail was heard around the world. Tim had gone deaf for a good three hours before the ringing stopped and his hearing slowly came back to him.
“I can tell,” Jason said wryly. “We’ll keep the squirt safe for ya and B knows that she’s his responsibility tonight. He and Alfie are already Violet-proofing her room and the playroom,” he said.
“You all are going to be there too, right?” Tim asked hesitantly, watching as Dick threw Violet in the air and she flipped a few times before floating back into his arms. Their daughter was a bit ghostly like Danny, not enough for this time of year to truly incapacitate her the way it did Danny but enough that she had some fun powers in her arsenal. The girl could walk through walls and fly like her father but she didn’t have a ghost form and thank the ancients she didn’t have any of Danny’s other powers it seemed. She was mostly human with just enough ghost in her to make things fun and stressful for her parents.
“We will be,” Damian said seriously with a nod. “Do not worry, Father will not accidentally traumatize her like he did on her birthday.”
Everyone shuddered at the memory.
“Let me get her overnight bag,” Tim said, standing up. He pressed a kiss to Danny’s forehead before he left the room to get Vi’s things for the night.
Soon the brothers and Violet were on their way and Danny found himself curled up on the couch with his husband, a soft smile on his face.
“Think they’re going to be okay?” Danny asked nervously. “This is her first year going with her powers and I don’t know how prepared the guys are for it.”
Tim laughed and wrapped his arm around Danny’s shoulders as he reclined back in the couch. “They’re going to be fine Babe. How much trouble can four vigilantes and a meta kid get into?” He asked before slowly trailing off at the end. “What have we done?”
“They’ve taken her trick or treating every year,” Danny reasoned. “Surely it won’t be worse this year. Besides she only has the intangibility and the flying,” he said carefully. “They wouldn’t lose her.”
“They won’t lose her,” Tim said but Danny could tell just from looking at his husband that he believed the words just as much as Danny did. Tim was quiet for a moment as he contemplated it for a moment. “If I left the ghost shield up would you be fine on your own while I stalk them?”
Danny sighed and looked around the frost that covered their house and let out a breath. “Just soup me and take me with you. That way if something happens I can help you out at least a little bit.”
“Are you sure you want me to soup you?” Tim asked hesitantly, his hand already reaching for the thermos tucked underneath the couch.
Danny let out a huff and nodded his head. “Just don’t drop me again,” he said before Tim leaned forward, gave him a kiss before opening the thermos and sucking Danny into it.
Tim quickly set to work. He first changed from his pajamas to his Red Robin gear and quickly locked up the house before he went off to track his family.
“ It can’t be that bad, could it?” Danny asked through the comms device. The new thermos was upgraded so that if Danny was ever souped in it for whatever reason he was still able to communicate with the Bats. It was primarily made because of Halloween and when Danny lost control of his powers but they had used it other times as well whenever Danny was hurt on patrol and needed to be taken back to the cave or if he had to be hidden away from Amateaur ghost hunters who didn’t know when to quit.
“Knowing those idiots? Definitely,” Tim ground out before he climbed to the top of a building and tracked the movements of his family.
.....
“Violet, honey, don’t forget that you’re supposed to hold our hand the entire time,”  Jason reminded as Violet phased her hand from Dick’s grip and tried to run ahead only for Duke to grab her and pull her back. Somehow, they weren’t sure how yet, but his powers made it where Violet’s intangibility didn’t work on her which meant he was on ghost duty for the night.
“But you’re being so slow,” she groaned, stomping her foot.
“We’re being slow because there’s a bunch of people who are out and we don’t want to lose you,” Dick said, looking down at the girl. “Besides, I’m pretty sure your dads gave you very strict rules about when you’re allowed to use your powers. Right?”
Violet grumbled under her breath and attempted to tug her hand away from Duke who only held on tighter.
“Violet, mumbling is unbecoming,” Damian chided. “And if you behave during our trick-or-treat session then I will allow you to play with my sword upon our arrival at the manor.”
Violet perked up at that and looked up at her uncle. “Can I stab Grandpa Bruce with it?” She asked, her blue eyes twinkling with mischief.
“Absolutely,” Jason said at the same time the other Duke and Dick let out a loud no.
Damian hummed. “If you manage to do it without using your powers then yes,” he said.
“Damian!” Dick gasped out. “Tim said no weapons.”
“What Dad doesn’t know won’t hurt him,” Violet said and Jason chuckled in response, he taught his niece so well.
“No, absolutely not,” Dick declared. “You are not stabbing your Grandpa Bruce with a sword. You can stab Jason instead, or a training dummy.”
“I guess,” Violet said with a huff as she leaned into Duke’s side, the man simply chuckled and ruffled her hair with his free hand.
“When did you get to be so stabby Baby Ghost?” Duke asked him curiously. The girl merely shrugged her shoulders in response.
“I dunno, Youngblood, and I like to play pirates a lot,” she said with a small smile, referring to her cousin.
The group of five made it to the next door on the block and Duke led the little girl up to the door as the other three stood back.
“You can come out now Tim,” Jason said lazily. Tim huffed and slipped out of the shadows of the house he had been hiding in.
“You told her she could stab Bruce!” He exclaimed. “You can’t just encourage violence like that! She’s supposed to be acting like an ordinary girl not–”
“You let her play with ghosts,” Dick pointed out. “Not only that but both of her parents and all of her aunts and uncles are vigilantes and she has powers. The only normal person in her family is Jazz and she’s scarier than all of us combined,” he said with a shudder, thinking back on the time the redhead had been the defense attorney on a case that Dick had to be a witness for. She was a force to be reckoned with and Dick was terrified of the woman.
“Danny said that his side of the family doesn’t let Vi play with knives.”
“Remind Danny that his parents are in Blackgate,” Damian said with a huff.
“He resents that,” Tim said, repeating his husband's response.
“Oh my god, is he souped right now?” Jason asked, reaching over and grabbing the thermos from Tim. “How’s it feel to be souped up like a little bitch?” he whispered into the mic attached to the thermos.
“Danny said he has no problem sharing the space with your smell Revenant ass,” Tim said with a snicker just as Duke started back towards them with Violet in tow. He narrowed his eyes at his brothers before snatching Danny away from Jason. “No weapons, no stabbings. I’ve got my eyes on you dumbasses and I will release my ridiculously overpowered husband to torment you all if you lose my baby.”
Dick rolled his eyes. “Calm down Baby Bat. This is our fifth Halloween with Violet, we won’t let anything happen to her,” he said. “Powers or no powers,” he said before he eyed the thermos that Danny was sitting in.
“Don’t even think about souping my child,” Tim hissed before he disappeared into the shadows once more.
The rest of the night blessedly went off without a hitch. Tim and his souped-up husband kept an eye on Tim’s brothers for the rest of the night until he saw the ghost shield go up around Wayne Manor and felt just a little bit better.
He soon found himself back in his own home with Danny curled up next to him as he let out a breath of air. “The new thermos is roomier but man it’s still so uncomfortable,” Danny said with a whine as Tim ran his fingers through his husband’s hair.
“We can go back to the lab and figure it out later,” Tim hummed. “How are you feeling?”
“Sleepy. But also like I could destroy the entire world if I hiccuped,” Danny said with a chuckle before he let out a yawn. Before Tim could respond his cell phone went off.
“It’s Duke,” Tim said before he answered.
“Tim, we have a bit of a problem. Not sure if we need Danny to get her down or if you have any tips or tricks. But Violet is on one of the chandeliers and the only one who can get to her is Dick but she goes intangible every time he gets close to her,” Duke rushed out, his words smashing together.
“Danny would likely destroy the entire manor if he even tried to get her down. She’ll tire herself out eventually just get her when she does,” Tim said with a sigh.
“You got it, have fun you two,” Duke said before hanging up the phone.
“How did we have a daughter who acts just like Dick of all people?” Tim asked as he tossed his phone onto the coffee table.
“I couldn’t tell you,” Danny said with a sigh as he flicked through the movies on their television. “How does Nightmare Before Christmas sound?”
“That’s a Christmas movie,” Tim said, crinkling his nose.
“It’s a Halloween movie too,” Danny huffed out. “It’s both.”
“No, it isn’t. It’s not even about Halloween, it’s literally about Christmas.”
“It’s about Halloween too!” Danny argued before turning the movie on. “I’m right and you’re wrong so we’re watching it so I can prove it to you.”
“I can’t believe you’re making me watch a Christmas movie on Halloween,” Tim complained. Danny just chuckled and leaned up to give his husband a soft kiss.
“I love you,” he murmured.
“I love you too,” Tim said with a small smile as the beginning of the movie started up. Sure their Halloween traditions were a little strange but Tim had to admit, he wouldn’t have them any other way.

What would fae!dick and Bruce's relationship be like? Would they fight, woild they be loyal to a fault, would they even separate? Faes do love living in one place after all
Hmmm, well if we go with the option of Dick growing up mostly in the human world being more accustomed to attaching himself to people rather than a place I’d reckon him and Bruce would end up growing quite close.
Of course, the manor becomes Dick’s permanent home and reacts to the presence of an other being rather quickly, but at the core of it? I think Dick would use Bruce and Alfred as his anchor, with Jason and Tim and all the others joining over time.
And loyalty… well, the creatures I grew up with were never divided into good or evil. They were very versatile, much like humans. One could be kind and sweet in one story only to turn monstrous in the next, usually dependent on how they’d been treated by the human of the story. Dick is kind and loyal by nature and I headcanon he only shows his more “monstrous” side when he’s truly irked or feels he’s been wronged in some way (which is… a very subjective thing for fae).
Bruce offered Dick a home and a family, both things that certain type of other creatures value very much and consider sacrosanct. It may not win him over right away, but it goes a long way in building that fundamental trust that’s gonna end with Batman and Robin roaming the streets as a team.
On Bruce’s part… most things he does that are considered “gift giving” and “offers of kinship” are accidental. Because, well, he’s not fae. And he’s new to this child-parent thing and is totally winging it but it??? Seems to work ok???? And he finds that bribing Dick with food and old trinkets makes the boy more approachable, so that’s what he keeps doing until Dick starts coming to him on his own, without additional prompting.
Bruce is super happy because he thinks he’s doing this parenting stuff right and his son ward is warming up to him.
Dick is grudgingly charmed into accepting Bruce and Alfred as “his” humans. (It’s really hard to stay cold and distant with all the good food. And Dick may be fae but he’s been around humans all his life. He gets lonely embarrassingly easy. And he thrives and hugs.)
Sheesh ok getting off topic again. To sum it all up: I think their bond would be pretty strong and not easily broken. There’s mutual trust going on, but Bruce would have to learn to make compromises with Dick very early due to his… otherness. All those strict rules wouldn’t go over well with a fae. at all. Especially not if Dick found out who got his parents killed.
Consequently I think the monumental fallout that ends with Dick moving to Blüdhaven wouldn’t happen. At least not in its original severity. Mostly because Bruce had to get accustomed to Dick having a strong mind of his own years ago, and because he found out that being “rude and downright disrespectful” is an easy way to have a murder of crows with a suspicious number of eyes and wings chase you around for weeks on end. (Not to mention the deer incident. Bruce swears deer should NOT have that many rows of teeth.)
So yeah, they still argue. They still fight. But it’s usually just small spats and gets resolved rather quickly. ✨ and now that Dick’s finally settled down? Yup. Sorry. That’s HIS stretch of land now. He’s got his magic sunk into the very roots of it. Thank you and good day. And may the gods help anyone who tries to take it OR his humans away from him. 🌳

You can’t even bring yourself to look at him, most of the time. Eddie’s done a perfect job at ignoring, pretending you don’t exist, plucking you out of his life—just like you asked, but you weren’t sure what hurt more—knowing how easily he could move on, or how badly you regretted all of it in the first place.
It didn’t matter that Eddie was struggling every day to not look your direction, hug you, just be in your presence—it was a constant, daily reminder of how badly he’d fucked up. Maybe if he was a better boyfriend, maybe if he paid attention more often and didn't throw himself into everything he loved so passionately, then you would have stayed.
It doesn’t take long for you to move on, but you thrive on codependency, being with someone, and you never expected that person to be Jason—but he just fits, or, you made him fit. You have similar interests, he’s sweet to you when he tries to be, and he always knows how to make you feel special; the sex was another story.
And it wasn’t that Eddie wasn’t sweet or caring—Eddie was all of that, but you melded with Jason on a level that Eddie couldn’t reach, at least that’s what you told yourself.
Jason was performative in a different way—Eddie loved to make a scene, grab everyone’s attention, but the affection he showed you was never meant for show. He kissed you in private, told you all the filthiest things in the world that would have you blushing in public, but those words were meant for you and no one else. He’d hold your hand when you were nervous, or rub your back when you were worried. Eddie always knew when to lean in and when to back away—with Jason, it was never genuine.
He only ever kissed you in front of his friends and constantly bolstered himself up on a pedestal when you were around, like you were just another worthless person to impress—and that’s when you realized that the only thing Jason really needed was approval. He only acted like he enjoyed the same things you did to come off as likable, he bought you expensive gifts to make you feel worthy, and he was everything that every girl could ask for, but not you.
And as horribly as you feel about it, the sex was the breaking point. He was quick and rushed and never focused on anything but himself, it was such a whiplash experience from what you had with Eddie that it left you in tears, most of the time—you’d shove Jason out of your house quickly afterwards, curl up on your bed, and weep until it hurt less. It was your own selfishness that wanted to you to be taken care of too; sex was a shared experience, and you enjoyed it, it only seemed fair that it was equal on both ends. Jason didn’t see it that way, unfortunately.
Jason accosts you in front of his friends at lunch that Friday, his arms winding around your waist as he leans over to kiss you on the cheek, flashing the trademark toothy grin at you.
“You’re coming to the party, right?” He asks, the watchful eyes of others not giving you much of a chance to weasel your way out of his grasp. “Everyone’s gonna be there.”
“I guess,” You shrug, forcing a fake smile as he lets you go just as quickly, taking a seat at the head of the lunch table, “did Lucas ever get back to you?”
“He said he’d go,” Jason taps his fork against the tray, moving the food around, “but he wants me to invite all of them—some shit about being inclusive or whatever.”
“All of Hellfire?” You ask, eyebrows pulling up in confusion. You take a glance over at the table, eyes immediately drawn toward Eddie—he’s already looking at you when you turn your head and he panics, like he’s been caught, and quickly averts his attention toward Dustin.
“They’re all fucking freaks,” Jason says snidely, “If any of them try to ruin my party, they’re dead.”
“I don’t think you have anything to worry about.” You assure him, ignoring his obvious distaste and resentment toward the idea. “I doubt they’ll even go.”
“Yeah, let’s hope so.”
Tumblr media
Jason abandons you before lunch is over, making a weak excuse about needing to talk to the boys in private—but really, you didn’t care. But, they snatch Lucas up in the process, much to Eddie’s dismay.
So when you finally leave the lunchroom to reach your locker, fiddling with the stupid lock that never wants to open, Eddie corners you. He notices the struggle, the frustrated look on your face, tongue poking out the side of your mouth.
He pulls it from your hand without questions, putting in the code and yanking at the lock with force—it opens on the first time. Eddie doesn’t have the same motivation to act smug about, his mouth pulled into a tight line.
“Thanks,” You mumble, open the locker door to retrieve your school books—he still hasn’t left, “—did you need something?”
“Tell your boyfriend to stop spreading his stink over my table,” He says with a harsh undertone, “it makes everyone uncomfortable—especially Lucas.”
“He’s not going to listen to me,” You tell him, “he never has.”
You two had only been together a couple months, but Jason always had a mind of his own, and was always forcing you to do things you wouldn’t normally do—he had to have that control. You didn’t like fancy dinner dates or extravagant nights out, but with Jason, that’s all you got.
You just wanted movies on the couch and cheap delivery pizza, to talk for hours about books and pop culture, everything that seemed interesting to you, and you wouldn’t even mind hearing him ramble on about basketball—it was the principle of it all, Jason didn’t like to put in the effort.
Eddie always had, you were only realizing that much too late.
And you can’t help your curiosity, mind racing with thoughts.
“Are you going to the party?” You ask, slipping your locker closed, taking a small glance at Eddie.
“Don’t know yet,” He shrugs. Eddie knew when to stay away, but with Jason, he couldn’t help himself, “maybe.”
He knew you were miserable, it was written all over your face, your mood, it had altered your personality into something he didn’t even recognize.
“Well, maybe you shouldn’t.” You tell him honestly—it wasn’t a warning or a threat, you were just terrified of what would unfold if he did.
Jason knew of your past with Eddie and as much as he tried not to seem bothered by it, he couldn’t grasp the idea of someone wanting to be paired up with the town freak, Eddie Munson.
“You’re not my boss.” Eddie smirks with an immense amount of smugness.
“I’m not trying to be,” You tell him softly, “I’m just—I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
And it’s a terrible idea, in fact—but it doesn’t stop Eddie from showing up to the party with Chrissy Cunningham by his side.
“Uh, Lucas,” You nudged the boy standing beside you, cup in hand, “did he tell you anything about that?”
Lucas is just as wide-eyed as the rest of the party, gawking at the two of them like animals in a cage. Chrissy is noticeably unfazed, as always, smiling bigger than ever. The cheerfulness wasn’t an act either, it was just her. The only thing different about Eddie is that he isn’t wearing his jacket, which strikes you as odd because he never leaves the house without it, it was like his security blanket.
“No, nothing—“ Lucas takes a glance at Jason, who’s just as tense as the rest of you, but his eyes are brimmed with an anger he only got around Eddie, for whatever reason that was, he never talked about it either, “—you might wanna check on him.”
Jason sees you coming before you even touch him, hand coming up in waiting to wrap around you waist, like you were an accessory. “Hey, it’s fine,” You try to soothe him, your free hand wrapping around his own waist, hoping he’ll turn his attention toward you, “maybe Chrissy didn’t want to come alone.”
“But Chrissy—why her?” Jason asks, voice laced with jealousy. You roll your eyes noticeably, it felt like a losing battle anymore—relationships just weren’t for you.
“Everyone loves Chrissy,” You tell him, his eyes glancing toward you briefly, a micro twitch of his face at those words, “I don’t think Eddie’s immune to that, as much as you want him to be.”
You watch Chrissy yank Eddie toward the kitchen, his feet struggling to keep up as they squeak against the tile floor, letting her wrap his fingers in between hers. You’ve never seen Eddie talk to Chrissy, so it was just as much of a mystery to you.
And you knew the history with Jason and Chrissy, maybe he wasn’t really over her, maybe you were just a rebound—but so was he. That’s why you don’t stop him when he hurdles toward the kitchen, the rest of his posse hot on his tail, aside from Lucas. He grabs your hand before you make the decision to follow, shaking his head in warning.
“We should stay out of it.” He warns, “You know how he gets.”
“Yeah,” You nod pointedly, “That’s exactly the problem.”
“Munson,” Jason’s voice booms over the music, the entirety of the party turning their heads in his direction, ready to witness the carnage, “funny seeing you here.”
“You invited me.” He says, which is more of an attempt to make Jason look like an idiot.
He’s successful, gaining a few snickers and badly disguised laughs with a cough.
“It wasn’t a legitimate invitation,” Jason confesses, “—and Chrissy, wow—that’s a hell of surprise, how do you two know each other?”
They both stumble over their words for a moment before Chrissy finally answers.
“I just asked him,” She settled on, “I didn’t want to come alone.”
It shouldn’t hurt Eddie as much as it did, his ego is wounded—Chrissy was cute, nice, but it was a low blow on her part, since he was the one supplying her with drugs, all while managing to keep it a secret.
“So, pity,” Jason laughs, tipping his cup in Eddie’s direction, “—look, dude, I’d save yourself the embarrassment and just leave—it’s not like anyone wants you here—“
The last part forces you to put a stop to his assault, pulling gently at his arm, not wanting to become a secondary victim to his attack. “Jason, come on—everyone’s staring,” It took you a moment to realize that even the music had died down, all eyes on the four of you collected in the kitchen, ”babe, please.”
Eddie snorts an amused laugh at that, hand coming to rest against the counter top—he wasn’t even looking at Jason anymore, his eyes directly on you. You could see how badly he wanted to say something, make some snide comment, get back for all that you’d put him through—but it’s Jason that attacks instead, albeit, at your expense.
“I see why you like her,” Jason nods toward you, “—the mouth on her, it’s something—say, is that why you came? Did you think she was gonna take you back?”
You’ve never seen Eddie mad, but his face changes on a dime, open hand now closed fist and white knuckled. He could easily take Jason out, but he didn’t want to cause a scene, not in front of you.
But, it’s the next thing out of Jason’s mouth that has him throwing that morale out of the window completely.
“Did you think you could come here and make a trade?” Jason antagonizes—you try to feel hurt, but it almost sounds like a good idea, you couldn’t stand the sight of him anymore, and maybe it had been like that for weeks, but tonight was the breaking point.
Eddie punches first, slamming Jason against the ground as his fist connects with his eyebrows—again and again, until there’s blood covering his rings and Jason’s begging for relief.
No one seems surprised—almost relieved that someone finally dealt with Jason’s shit, but it still pulls at your gut, that guilt as you stared down at him, his eyebrow split open at end, blood pouring and pooling quickly into his hand.
Lucas senses your hesitance, kneeling down at Jason’s side, “Go—get him out of here.” He begs, shoving you away and into Eddie, his fists curled tightly at his side. You yank once, twice, until he finally gives in and lets you drag him away from the majority of the party.
The only unlocked door you can find is Jason’s bedroom, which is a horrible juxtaposition to your life. But, Eddie’s covered in blood and you know there’s enough stuff to clean him up in there, so you drag him along, silently. Eddie can’t even force himself to speak.
You move diligently, locking the door to the larger bathroom, guiding him toward the edge of the counter, squatting down to find the first aid kit under the sink before slamming it against the marble surface, finally breaking Eddie from his trance.
He doesn’t say anything, but his hand extends, allowing you to grasp it. You pull gently at his rings, letting the metal clink into the sink, covered in a sticky crimson red. The impression of his own rings had cut into his knuckles at how hard the blow to Jason’s face had been, his own blood mixed with what you could only assume was Jason’s.
“That was stupid.” You say quietly, turning on the sink to let the water run over the rings, washing away as much blood as you could, guiding his hand under the freezing cold water, it’s even worse than the dull, throbbing pain in his hand.
“Do you let him talk about you like that all the time?” Eddie asks suddenly, face pulled up in frustration, jealousy.
“It’s Jason—who cares.”
“You broke up with me for that?” He pulls his hand back suddenly, annoyed with the bitter cold of the water, but also how dismissive you were being. “Was I really that horrible of a boyfriend?”
“Eddie, no,” You say honestly, guiding his hand back toward you, rubbing a small alcohol patch against the skin, his face seemingly unfazed, “—why does this even matter?”
He goes quiet again, he feels the anger, the resentment, but the last thing he wants to do is take it out on you, not when you’re on the verge of tears—you didn’t even realize amongst all the chaos, it’s only when you finally start to calm, placing the small bandages on Eddie’s knuckles that you feel it settle in.
You clear your throat loudly, shoving his hand gently back toward his chest, slamming the kit closed and returning it to its spot underneath the sink. “Look—I don’t know why you came here tonight, I told you it was a bad idea.”
You face toward the sink, fetching his rings and attempting to wrap them in a towel to dry them, but Eddie stops your movements, taking the balled up material in his hands and placing it back down. “I can look after myself,” He tells you, his undamaged hand wrapping around your bicep, the cold sting of his fingers a shock to your warm skin, feeling overwhelmed and claustrophobic, “—why won’t you look at me?”
You shake your head slightly, eyes downturned and staring at your fidgeting hands, twisting your own dainty rings against the skin.
“Look at me.” Eddie demands softly, “Please.”
He’s met with teary eyes, lips pulled tight to keep any sounds from escaping, his thumb brushes away the stray tear that slips down your cheek.
“Is he always like that?” Eddie asks, whatever anger he felt a few minutes ago forced away, if only for a moment. You needed a friend, he could be that.
You shake your head, unable to admit it to yourself. “Not always—it doesn’t matter, Eddie. I just need to go back downstairs and tell him I’m leaving—he can finally try and get Chrissy back, I know that’s what he’s after.”
“We were coming from a deal,” Eddie tells you abruptly, your eyes pulling up to him in confusion, his hand still resting against your cheek. He hasn’t moved it and you couldn’t be bothered to move it either, “—she’s one of my regulars.”
You laugh at the absurdity, giggle bubbling from your chest. “Chrissy, seriously? God—Jason would shit himself if he knew that.” Then again, maybe he did—and maybe that’s why he hated Eddie so much. You didn’t care to find out, Jason was the last thing on your mind.
Still, you couldn’t help but be upset at Eddie for being so irrational, causing a scene, you slap him in the chest suddenly, soft at first, but harder until he has to grip your hands, forcing you to stop. “That was stupid! Why would you do that?”
“I did that for you?” He responds passionately, and it pulls you back, surprised that he even admits it out loud. “Is that such a fucking shock that some cares about you?”
“We’re not together anymore.”
“Yeah—I’m very fucking aware of that,” Eddie snaps, “but I still care, I was your friend first, remember that?”
You’re silent, startled by his words. He’s not angry—just, upset.
“You threw all of that away,” Eddie tells you, “not me—not when I cared about you, liked you, fuck—I almost—I almost thought I loved you, you know?”
“Eddie—“
He doesn’t stop, a never ending flow of confessions. He was pouring his heart out to you in the middle of your ex-boyfriends party, hand still pounding with pain, and done with holding back for so long.
“You were worried about us not liking the same things? That I spent too much time on the things I enjoyed? You didn’t even communicate that to me,” Eddie takes a breath, rubbing his hands over his face in frustration, “maybe I was selfish for asking you to have sex with me that night, but I don’t regret—I never regretted anything in our relationship and if you hated me so much, you should’ve never committed yourself to it.”
“Eddie, I don’t regret anything—“
“And you start dating Jason, really? Jason?”
“Eddie!” You shout, and Eddie doesn’t think he’s ever heard you yell, stopping for a brief moment to hear you out. “I’m sorry—I should’ve never broken up with you the way I did.”
“Well, you did.”
And you feel it hit you, the urge to say it—it felt like you’re world was closing in on you and if you didn’t say it now, you’d never have the chance,
“I wish I’d never broken up with you at all.” You say softly, taking a step back to lean against the sink, hit with a sudden wave of vertigo or dizziness, the adrenaline of it all finally wearing off, “I can admit that now.”
“You don’t mean that.” Eddie says quietly, hand braced between you too, almost as a defensive mechanism. “Not after making me doubt everything about us.”
“You never did anything wrong,” You admit to him, “I was being selfish, I didn’t want to communicate—I just wanted things to be perfect—my perfect, but I don’t even know what this is now.”
“Relationships aren’t perfect, sweetheart.” He says soothingly, hand fading back slightly, “I’m pretty sure it’s impossible.”
“I’m starting to realize that.” You laugh bitterly, reflecting on all the stuff Jason had put you through, physically and mentally. “Look, I’m really sorry, Eddie.”
“It’s okay.”
It was not okay, but Eddie wanted to make you feel safe, even if he needed time to process everything himself.
You reach your hand forward to slip in his own, his fingers squeeze gently in return, like no time has passed at all. The low hum of the music from downstairs is overwhelming in the silence.
“I can take you home?” Eddie suggests, wanting to ditch this place just as bad. “If that’s what you want.”
You laugh softly at his weak attempt to be chivalrous, even if he was still upset with you, and it doesn’t dawn on you until you’re staring at the locked door of the bathroom, staring at Eddie, that you realized just how pissed you are at Jason—you were so caught up in making sure Eddie was alright that you forgot how cruel Jason had been toward Eddie, at your own expense. And if there was one parting gift you could leave Jason with, it would be this.
Eddie sees it too, the look in your eyes, like a silent agreement that whatever was to happen was just that—you could leave it here and forget about it afterwards, avoid the long awkward talk—just enjoy each other, because you knew you both needed it so desperately.
He’s on you instantly, arms looping around your middle to lift you up onto the counter, spreading your legs open until he is snug, fit between you like the last piece of a puzzle, exactly when you need. His hands are calculated, rough, yanking your head back until your mouth meets his and it feels fucking amazing.
You haven’t been kissed like this in a long time, overwhelmed by the sensation that you gasp loudly, eyes glaring into Eddie’s, his relaxed stare turning heated, his other hand slipping under your thigh, locking it around his hip until your cunt is pressed against the growing tent in his pants. He’s desperate for control and you can’t be bothered to fight it, letting him pull your head back until you’re grunting in pain, his lips latching into your neck greedily, leave a sizable bruise that’s too hard to ignore—and usually you aren’t one for hickeys, but you can’t be bothered to say no. You wanted it.
“Fuck, he really doesn’t touch you like this, does he?” Eddie asks redundantly, he knows Jason can’t, won’t—he’s unable to care about anyone but himself. “I’ve barely even kissed you and you’re already worked up.”
His hands push along the squishy flesh of your thighs, underneath the flowing material of your skirt until his fingertips bump your hip bones, squeezing tightly at the skin until you’re yelping, the small tickling sensation driving you wild.
“Answer me, sweetheart.” He demands, leaning forward to sneak his tongue out against your top lip, teasing you greatly before dipping down to slip his tongue past your lips completely, kissing you sloppily. “Need to hear you admit it.”
“He doesn’t,” You rush out through smothered kisses, the sound of your voice swallowed up by Eddie and his eager mouth, “haven't even—he doesn't make me come, it’s been so long.”
“How long?” Eddie asks softly, tipping your chin up with his fingers, pulling back slightly to look at you. “Tell me.”
“Since I’ve had an orgasm?”
He nods, thumb pulling at your bottom lip until it slips away.
“A couple days,” You tell him; it wasn’t a lie, “maybe three.”
“I’m not talking about doing it yourself,” He smiles, the warmth of his breath hitting your face, “has he ever made you come?”
You shake your head, cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
Eddie makes a small noise of astonishment, not that he’s entirely surprised, but that you allowed it to go on for so long—you, of all people. His hand slips around the back of your neck, thumb pressing against the point where your jaw meets.
“Let’s fix that, yeah?” He nods, urging to move off the counter and follow him. “Lock his door.”
The his makes it even worse, realizing how dirty this feels—but you can’t be bothered to care. You both make a hurried attempt at unlocking the bathroom door, letting Eddie flip the light switch on while you fumble clumsily with his lock, alight with nerves you’ve never felt before, hands shaking with anxiety.
Eddie noticed your hesitation, invading your space until he’s lodged between you and the door, head tilted down to look at you, “Hey—we don’t have to—“
You laugh at yourself, eyes squeezing shut, nose scrunching up in amusement. You feel ridiculous. It was Eddie. Eddie. You had nothing to be worried about.
“God—shut up,” You say endearingly, squeezing his face in your hands until he’s leaning forward to kiss you, large hands traveling down your thighs until you’re jumping into his grip, letting him carry you to the neatly made bed, no doubt to be ruined in a few moments, “—fuck, do whatever you want, I don’t care.”
Eddie cups your cunt, fingers tracing gently over the thin material of your underwear, his eyebrows quirks up in question.
“Yeah?” You nod furiously, the way you jerk at the smallest bit of pressure has him shaking his head in disbelief, “He couldn’t even touch you? You’re kidding me?”
You don’t answer and it causes Eddie to pull back, fully questioning every part of your relationship with Jason; it was a mystery how he could withstand touching you, almost seeming disgusted by it—it baffled Eddie to the point of speechlessness.
“Foreplay? Anything?” Eddie asks.
You shake your head, Eddie tuts softly in response.
“Sweetheart, you deserve so much more.” He says honestly, and you could burst into tears if you weren’t turned on right now, cunt pulsing at every minor touch Eddie made against your opening, sliding slowly up to the sensitive nub of your clit.
“Look at you,” He says tantalizingly, head tilted up slightly in a way to mock your own, your own head tilting back toward the pillows, mouth open on a wordless gasp, “I think I can make you come before I’m even inside you.”
You couldn’t even argue, it was absolutely possible.
Eddie carefully slips his hand up and under the thin barrier of your panties, the first bare touch of his finger like electricity, sliding through your slick and back toward your clit, the ease of friction was too much, your hand grabbing desperately at his forearm, the muscles flexing underneath your grip with every movement. Eddie leans over you more, free hand rising to brush the loose hair from your face, thumb rubbing gently against your forehead, his wide eyes boring into your own.
You moan without shame, openly and allowing the sounds to mix with the steady beat of the music. Eddie’s enjoy it too much, mouth opening with every sound you made, another easy attempt to mock you, flashing his big smile every time you caught on, but it didn’t stop you—and it definitely didn’t stop him. He’s rubbing deliberate, tight circles against your clit, determined to get you off quickly and break that long running streak that Jason had forced you into—none of that existed anymore.
“Eddie, huh—I’m gonna,” You breath catches, back arching off the bed as he stops for a moment, leaning forward to bite along the side of your jaw, gently at your cheek, whispering into your ear.
“Where are your manners?” Eddie asks softly, “Didn’t forget them, did you?”
“Fuck, please—please, Eddie. I can’t take this.” You beg, moaning loudly as he continued his movements, with fervor and quickness, “—oh, Eddie—I’m so close—just want to come, please?”
“Go ahead.” He whispers softly, face resting gently against the side of yours as you come with a drawn out moan, hips jerking through your orgasm, his middle finger working you through the high until you finally come back down, tapping gently at his hand until he finally gives you some relief, his smile entirely too smug.
“He’s really missing out,” Eddie tells you, voice soft, “You look so pretty when you come.”
And you don’t think you’ve ever blushed harder, shoving Eddie’s face away from yours playfully, giggling when he nips at your shoulder. You could drag this out, indulge in everything you missed out on for the last couple of months, but you really just wanted Eddie inside you—sex with him was…palpable. There  was always a charge of something within it, a connection that you didn’t have with Jason—it was like a drug.
“I could say the same thing for you,” You tease, yanking Eddie down against you, letting him shift until he’s settled between your legs, “—but I think I might need a refresher.”
Eddie pulls at his belt, shirt lifted halfway up his stomach as he works against the material, tossing his belt, then pants to the side—and somehow manages to pull your skirt and panties down in one go, save for your shirt. “Condoms?” He asks, when he’s finally settled back between your legs.
Fuck, you really should have thought about that.
You lean over to the bedside table, rummaging through Jason's cluttered drawer and finally find the box, albeit empty, as you turn it over to shake out on the bed, discarding the useless cardboard.
Eddie chuckles from beside you, palming at his hard cock, your own face still filled with worry, anticipation. “Won’t be the first time, right?” You shake your head sheepishly, “—did he ever—“
You couldn’t stand the idea of sex with Jason without a condom, it was never a consideration or a question—it was the rule.
Another small head shake, Eddie’s grin grows wider—he’s unashamed and cocky as he hands roam his cock, tugging leisurely, he notices your gaze pulling to his hands—and it’s been so long, you just can’t help yourself.
“You want it?” Eddie asks teasingly, his free hand coming down to run through your folds, “You think you deserve it?”
The real answer is no, but you nod your head anyways, your hand coming up to yank at the bottom of his shirt, pulling him forward, cock nudging the top of your cunt lightly.
“Don’t go quiet on me now,” He chided, rubbing the leaking tip of his cock down the seam of your cunt, his breath slightly labored as he leans over you, twisting the thin cotton of your shirt in his hands, using it as leverage to pull you against him, his hips rocking gently, “do you, sweetheart?”
You gasp softly, your grip on his shirt tighter, the holds on each other like a vice, using one another as anchors, keeping yourself grounded in the moment. “Look at you,” He nods toward your soaked cunt, his dick glistening from your wetness, “—she missed me, didn’t she?”
You nod fervently, “Now answer my question,” Eddie says again, voice low and riddled with a timber that has you clenching around nothing, “do you deserve it?”
“No,” You say honestly, pathetically, but you still lift your hips up higher, forcing him to slip into you momentarily, his hips rocking away in response, “—I don’t, Eddie.”
“That’s right,” He nods, another soft tug at the shirt twisted in his hands and you rock against him once more, “—but I’m feeling generous.”
And he slips in slowly, without warning, your mouth open on a soundless whine as he stretches you open, his face drawn up in concentration. “Fuck—“ He groans, the hand that isn’t holding onto your shirt settles at your side, his thumb pressing against the outline of your hipbone as you breath, adjusting to him—he was bigger than Jason, more confident, and you felt it immediately, “—feels good, doesn’t it?”
“Yeah—yes,” You nod, letting out a soft moan at his gentle thrust, his eyes never leaving your face, half lidded and dark—his eye contact drove you wild, something you’ve never felt before him, he fed off of the connection, wanting to watch you fall apart underneath him, but you were selfish and couldn’t help watching either, “take care of me, Eddie—please?”
“Isn’t that what I’m doing?” He says mockingly, a few more forceful thrusts that had Jason’s bed rocking against the wall, you couldn’t be bothered to care, too caught up in the moment. “—god, it’s been weeks, months since—“
“Since we’ve been together, yeah—I know,” You didn’t want to relive that pain, not with him deep inside you right now. “Let’s not talk about it.”
Eddie’s chuckle dies out on a groan as your cunt clenches around him, already over sensitive from your orgasm a few minutes ago, “I was trying to say since I’ve had sex.” He admits and you can’t help but look shocked.
“You—you haven’t—oh,” You gasp, a sharp snap of his hips has you grasping the sheets, untucking the nicely made bed, “—you really haven’t had—“
Eddie shakes his head lazily, fucking into you at a steady rhythm now, the mix of your moans overpowering whatever music was playing downstairs and if anyone was to turn it down, they’d surely here what was happening several feet above them.
“He doesn’t like you—like this, does he?” Eddie asks harshly, his gaze heated and powerful, his hand loosening from your shirt to slip under your thighs, lifting them up at an angle that has you whining loudly, his cock slipping out of you momentarily before sliding back in roughly, “—can’t even look at you, it’s a fucking shame.”
You nod dumbly, agreeing with whatever he had to say. “He only ever—fuck, he only ever wanted me on my hands and—my, my knees,” You struggle to say, Eddie’s hands squeezing at your thighs relentlessly, pulling you wide and open, his gaze locked on the space where you two were connected, watching himself disappear again and again, mumbling soft, sweet praises that had you stomach clenching with pleasure, “—s’not like this, never like this.”
Eddie’s so lost in his own pleasure that he doesn’t respond, mouth hung open slightly as he moved against you, his soft, pink lips and deep contrast from his flushed face, the sweat of his face making his bangs stick to his forehead, he wouldn’t even remember his name if you asked him.
“Eddie,” You say softly, broken on a gasp as he finally looks at you, his eyes there, but distant, “—I can take over.”
“Fuck, please—“ He sighs, flipping you both over without much problem, your hips locking around his own instinctively—the pace you set is overwhelming and Eddie moans out—if they didn’t know what was going on before, they surely did now. You couldn’t be bothered to care, though.
“Wanna see your tits,” Eddie confesses, fumbling with the bottom of your shirt, “—please, baby.”
It’s a momentary slip, but neither of you address it. You slip the shirt over your head quickly, tossing it off to the side as Eddie leans up, his mouth latching over your breast without hesitation, sucking gently at the flesh, his other hand blindly wrapping around your neck, not squeezing, but resting.
You lean into it, a silent agreement to what he was asking, rocking your hips desperately against his cock, a feeble sound of acknowledgement slipping from your mouth, “Uh huh,” You answer, his face pulling away to look at you, “it’s okay.”
His hand tightens slightly, the pressure another added sensation. Eddie aids in the harsh bounce of your hips, ass slapping loudly against his thighs as he forces back a plethora of moans, trying to save you both some decency when you find the courage to walk downstairs.
“What did I tell you?” He says harshly, neck angling up as he shifts his hand, “That night—when you broke up with me—say it.”
“Never—never would find someone,” You gasp suddenly, the hand not wrapped around your throat coming to work against your clit, his movements quick and deliberate, “—that fucks me like—fuck, like you do—no one takes care of me like you do.”
“Shit—and I was right, wasn’t I?” The fact that he even has the nerve to be so bold at a moment like this is pushing you over the edge, the feeling, the sensations, the anger in his voice—it was all the built up tension Eddie had held back finally breaking free, and you couldn’t take it.
“Yes,” You whine, movements slowing against him as you came, your hands bracing against his chest as you rode out the orgasm, his own hands struggling to latch onto your thighs, the precipice of his own release near, struggling to focus on your words, “—there’s no one, Eddie—fuck, no one like you.”
“Say my name like that again,” He pleads through gritted teeth, “want him to hear you say my name.”
“Eddie.” You say on a sigh, his eyes falling shut as his thighs tense, his movements erratic, sloppy—
“Louder,” He begs, falling back against the ruined bed, pillows and blankets askew, “fuck—say it louder.”
“Eddie,” You moan loudly, mostly out of performances but it’s also just felt so fucking good having him inside you again, moaning out his name with no shame, “—fuck, Eddie!”
“Shit,” He curses, “Move—sweetheart, please.”
He’s there, right there—but you can’t be bothered to care.
“Want you to come inside me, Eddie.” You tell him softly, “Please?”
And if wasn’t the sound of your voice that did him in, it was the faint pout on your face as you sunk down for the last time, his cock spilling inside you, groaning loudly through his orgasm, cursing at the sheer force that it hits him with, “—that was—fuck—“ He breathes out, his shirt sticking to his chest with sweat, “—Jesus Christ.”
Your face pulls up in a smile, watching Eddie process everything, his hands squeezing at the flesh of your thighs gently, comfortingly. It takes him a few minutes, but eventually he comes back down, staring at you with a look that makes you feel vulnerable.
“That was so much better than break up sex,” He laughs tiredly, tugging at your arm until you fall against him, hands braced on either side of his head, “—can I kiss you?”
You nod slowly, his hands lifting your hips to pull himself out of you, but the kiss soothes the loss, warm touches traveling up your spine as he slips his tongue past your lips, kissing you so full it’s overwhelming—the kind of fullness that came with love and history and emotion, you knew you weren’t over Eddie, and he wasn’t over you.
“How are we supposed to walk back downstairs and act normal?” You ask with a lilt, face turning a soft shade of pink at the idea that everyone would know the second they laid eyes on you.
Eddie sits up, bringing you with him—“You should probably clean up first,” He points out knowingly, “and I need my rings.”
“Shit—oh, shit,” You completely forget, so caught up in everything, Eddie helps you off of his lap, throwing your clothes as you run through the bathroom entryway, disappearing for a moment while he dressed, “—can you fix the bed?” Your voice carries, the distant sound as you rustle around, grabbing Eddie’s rings.
“Fuck him,” Eddie scoffs lightly, mocking the offended look on his face as you peer around the door, rings clasped in your hand, “—seriously, fuck him.”
You shake your head with amusement, handing him his jewelry, watching him shove them into the pocket of his jeans.
“You should have thought about that before we fucked in his bed, sweetheart.” And you hated him for being right. “—let me drive you home.”
“Fine,” You sigh, “—but this does not mean we’re back together, Eddie. I still have to break up with him.”
Eddie laughs softly, hand reaching forward to tip your chin up, his thumb rubbing against your bottom lip, “I never said anything about getting back together, sweetheart—but if that’s really what you want—“
You shake your head gently, “We can figure it out—I don’t expect anything after how I broke up with you.”
Eddie smiles, pulling your chin up high, his lips barely grazing against your own, “That isn’t gonna stop me from fucking you, though—someone’s gotta take care of you.”
And it didn’t sound bad at all—everything was complicated, you didn’t know how you could make things work after breaking up with Eddie the first time, but you were willing to give it time; figure things out.
“Now, you’re gonna go look Jason in the eye,” Eddie waits for your nod of understanding, “and break his heart.”
His devilish smile was enough to make you do anything if he asked.

Stares off into the distance:
So.
Apparently my brain is just going to run along with various crossovers. Today, I bring you the thought of a John Wick fusion au (actually five differnet ones) with Batman/DC. (Again: a reminder that all my DC/Batman knowledge is fandom based)
@north-peach hellllppppp
Couple of thoughts for this.
The First: Janet Drake is one of the underworld's best. She's fantastic at manipulation and killing. She could walk herself out of a situation covered in blood, and convince people who saw it all happen that she never touched the body.
Tim grows up at her knee. He learns for the very best. And Janet teaches him everything she can- because despite the job and the crazy hours, and the travel, she loves her son. She wants to give him every opportunity to make it out alive from anything. Unharmed and not in trouble if possible, but alive most of all.
John Wick is a ghost story to the underworld. Tim has always been curious about people who could cause such a stir as his mother or John Wick might. When he meets him, he decides that man is Friend Shaped despite every sign saying Do Not. Despite every horror story saying it's a bad plan. (Much as he will later look at a story in a city of a cryptid said to be a manifestation of a city, a demon, a physical representation of all those who have died unavenged and decide the same)
More than that- John has ZERO idea how to handle Tim. He's a k i d. John's not gonna kill him for just...showing up all the time. It's not like he interferes or causes problems. In fact, he helps sometimes. Provides info, or a direction, a place to crash-
Tim confuses John.
Tim is also the very first to congratulate him, when he manages to get out of the underworld for Helen and mean it. To not even question the 'impossibility' of the Baba Yaga deciding he was done. John didn't bother to ask how Tim knew he'd left and why before the news actually broke out.
Tim watching John get out, go for it and SUCCEED is what gives him the courage to confess to his mother that he wanted to spend some time outside of the underworld, watching the curious case of Batman and Gotham. And Janet loves her son. So she arranges for it to be so.
They both know who Bruce Wayne is. Janet had figured it out before even Tim. She makes him promise that, if he needs her, he will call her, and lets him hunker in Gotham while he does what he wishes. She makes some trips back to Gotham, of course, but not so many that enemies can figure out there's someone important to her there. Janet is THE Femme Fatale. She has plenty of people who would go after her boy. And she's not having that.
Tim doesn't actually PLAN to get involved in vigilante life. At all. He's underworld born and bred. He's a survivor, manipulative, and can be a level of cunning and cold and ambitious that always makes his mother so so proud. He's not a do-right kind of person. He's not someone who does things for people outside of "me and mine" without a reason. Or if it goes against his moral code.
Except Jason Todd becomes one of "Me and Mine". He's a friend. A nosy vigilante who sees that his friend is alone and sets off his instincts as dangerous yes, but also as 'not a civilian' in a conventional sense. He's not a street rat, but he's not...normal either. And Tim? Tim, once he decides this Robin is his Robin, well he can't very well leave him undefended doing this ALONE can he? Though he understands by working with Robin, he cant use the tried and true methods of murder, as it could get pinned to Robin or Batman and he can't have that. If he wants to fly with Jason, he needs to fly by his rules. So a new vigilante is born that runs the streets with Robin. A little more vicious but in a cold and precise manner. Exacting. He doesn't let Jason go after his mother without doing the information gathering, and stops his death by Joker.
For a time, Tim finds himself pulled into the Wayne family, and he...thrives with them. He's happy. He learns under them. Expands his skillset, and still sent out to learn from people around the world. He is NOT fool enough to turn that away- his mother would somehow KNOW wherever she was if he turned down that kind of opportunity and he did not want to imagine the disappointment and response. NO THANK YOU.
When the underworld is kicked like a hornets' nest by John Wick coming back into the fold, Tim is...curious. He's kept an eye on John and Helen, if not stayed in direct and constant contact with them. He hadn't expected John to step foot back into the underworld.
And then his mother sends word to him, calls him back to the Continental, warns that the underworld is getting REALLY kicked up as a result. Tim...needs to go. He cannot imagine NOT answering his mother.
He arranges things on the Gotham end. Says temporary goodbyes and gets to the NY branch asap. Beats his mother there.
Makes it just in time to see John Wick pull a gun on Continental Grounds and shoot a newly crowned seat at the Table and is caught up in the chaos.
His family are going to end UP in the chaos themselves, because they will not cannot leave Tim in it alone. The connections Tim has are MUCH a surprise, he's done very well in hiding exactly what he used to do, and WHY he has a contact and hand in everything, and can ALWAYS get his family what they need. The Second: Tim Drake still grows up at Janet's knee. He learns it all. Thrives in it all. He ends up NOT going down the road of hitman or assassin or any number of things he could have done. Instead Tim Drake chooses to be a Information Broker that claims Gotham eventually, and by means of getting taken in by Bruce, the Wayne Manor and grounds around it become neutral grounds much like the Continental, if you want Tim's services to remain open to you. If you pull the underworld onto the ground...well. Just because Tim goes by Bruce's rules, and just because he PREFERS the route of nonviolence does not in any way mean he would not kill to protect it. To prove a point. To make a statement. To allow one to get away with it is to allow danger to his family and he WILL NOT, no matter that they all are perfectly capable of defending themselves. The Underworld is entirely different than their villains. To not kill the offender is to open themselves to weakness and targets. So Tim WILL.
Gotham is not Wayne Manor. The City is fair game to the underworld. Wayne Manor is NOT.
The Third:
Janet raises her boy at her knee still. Tim chooses the route of Doctor instead. He sets up in Gotham, and decides he likes the foolish vigilantes enough to step in when it's needed and save their lives. He becomes known to the Batfam as a Doc that will not ask questions, but is absolutely one of the most capable people they've seen. If Leslie isn't available, or not close enough, they go to Tim, if Tim doesn't find them, because he certainly seems to know when they need it.
The Batfam does sometimes find him having dealt with Some Things underworld involved so they are WORRIED about their idiot, despite the fact that Tim can and will Wreck everyone that causes problems in his area. He has also shown up stripping off blood covered scrub tops or whatever cause hes coming in hot from another healing thing, and they all wonder and worry and just- it's fine. Everything is fine.
They worry anyway.
Despite the fact that Tim has friends seemingly everywhere, from all walks of life, favors all over, and connections to seemingly everything as a result of his work. (He has absolutely been offered favors as payment, hits, assassinations and all sorts of things. He never turns them away. Janet taught him better. Instead he has markers and logs, books and written promises all stacked away. He remembers them all of course, but better to have written proof somewhere, something official. The Continental holds it for him.
The Fourth:
Gotham HAS a Continental Hotel due to all of its.....everything. Janet Drake runs it. Tim knows EVERYONE and everything, and has absolutely run the counter often. Bruce doesn't know what it is. Ra's absolutely does. Tim is the next to take over the branch and EVERYONE knows it.
He ends up occasionally, when people step on his morals, providing information to the Bat.
Jason managed to find his way inside by accident, and may or may not get himself heavily involved in the underworld even BEFORE the Red Hood thing.
The Fifth:
Same concept as 4 except BRUCE WAYNE runs the Continental and the ripples of everything therein.

I don't know, I just really like the idea of a reverse!robins au, you know??? Just little baby Dickie being an absolute menace to a slightly older Jason, and just being completely obvious with his little (huge, enormous, really) crush on Jason, and just Dick being a possessive and jealous little shit as a kid, before they started dating just cracks me up. And like everyone knows about his crush, but they all think its so cute and innocent, and it'll probably go away, right???? Right???? Something like this probably
https://www.tumblr.com/mlim8/691663407306440705/i-want-to-say-how-much-i-love-your-reverse-robins?source=share
https://www.tumblr.com/mlim8/681971460563140608/jaydick-week-day-3-reverse-robins-soulmates?source=share
So I think I may have answered an ask with similar vibes here. (: Here's some thoughts inspired by the first link though! Super cute vibes, kudos to mlim8!
Dick emulating Kon because he genuinely believes Kon is the definition of c o o l g u y. Like, how else could Kon land Tim? The man is playing out of his league; he's a legend. Peak aspiration. Of course Dick is going to be smitten with his older brother's cool boyfriend; Dick needs to learn all the tricks of the trade. He's got his own babygirl to win over. C:
(The term 'babygirl' comes from an overheard conversation and while Kon laughs about it, Tim gets so embarrassed. Despite how he tells Dick to not say that, Dick refuses).
Anyway, Kon? Thriving. Some might call his moves cringe, but Dick is so earnest and hopeful and Kon feels like fucking superman no one can touch him. ;U;
Damian nagging both Tim and Jon about Kon's influence on Dick because Dick won't listen to him; he can't be deterred and Damian is losing his mind over how Dick keeps winking and finger gunning and throwing out these truly terrible, punny lines at Jason and ahhhhhhhh
Basically Damian not liking Kon because of the impact he's had in Dick's life. It's created a hassle for Damian, but more than that? Big brother might be a little jealous. ;3;
Extra detail: Damian didn't like Kon even before Dick came into the picture because he became a distraction for Tim. It's an ongoing argument between Damian and Tim, actually. Damian is convinced Tim keeps Kon around for the sole purpose of annoying him (this isn't the case, but Damian is convinced)
Tim scoffing about it and telling Damian that his envy is showing. Just get laid, damn.
Which Damian gets indignant because no )<
To which Tim smirks a bit and purposefully badgers, 'Alright, Brother Complex (affectionate nickname), if you're threatened by our baby brother stealing Jason from you, then—‘
And Damian hisses because shut up, Drake. Fuck forbid father hear such crass speak omfg Damian will bury Tim himself.
Jason does have a crush on Damian though. The brother complex goes both ways. Or rather, it's a transference sort of deal for Jason that lingers big time because in this verse, Damian chose to save Jason from Joker, consequences be damned. The point stands, Jason is very sweet on Damian.
When Dick realizes this, devastation. Betrayed by his own partner!? Because...maybe Damian would have a similar batman stint where Dick was his Robin?? Yes.
Anyway, Dick refusing to talk to anyone, even Jason. Which is how they all know Dick is distraught.
So despite how it pains Damian, they send in the b i g g u n s: Kon. (:
Who hypes Dick up so hard. Just a bro looking out for his little man, y'know? Kon might hype Dick up a bit too much though because when Dick finally leaves whatever high nook he's sequestered himself away in?
Dick walks right up to Damian and challenges him for Jason outright and the family is caught in a perpetual state of ∑(゚ロ゚〃) because omfg Bruce is right there watching this play out and Jason is his babygirl, first and foremost.
But Damian accepts the challenge if it means having his brother back. And Damian, the sap, kneeling and drawing Dick in for a hug because fuck, having Dick be mad at him? Someone so happy and hopeful and wonderful? It was like a stab to the heart ngl.
And yes. While Damian's brother complex persists, there's zero intent to act but he still plays into this challenge of Dick's because it's highly motivating for the little punkass twerp.
Meanwhile Jason is just...there. Dumbfounded after Dick winks and shoots finger guns his way with a declaration of: 'you're gonna fall for me some day, babygirl.' But don't worry, Dick will catch him.
And Tim groans because Dick, please.

Kay, but like.... Brucie Wayne being protected by his children.
As Brucie he can't be anything but a well meaning idiot so his children occasionally step in when anyone tries to take advantage of him.
Not all the time. Not when it's funny to see how he'll find a way to get out of a situation without being suspicious. Or when he's looking like he's in the mood to troll people for fun.
But when he's got a nasty headache from a concussion they'll help. When people annoy them personally, they will be petty and step in. When it's objectively more funny for them to get involved they will for the lolz.
Cass will ask Brucie if the two of them can leave a function early if she sees Bruce isn't feeling up to dealing with high society parasites. Brucie could never ignore his precious princess if she claims to feel tired. He's the definition of a doting father. They always get an "Awwww!💖" when Brucie gives Cassie his coat while saying goodbye and asks her if she wants to stop for ice cream on the way home when walking away.
When gold diggers young enough to be one of Brucie's kids start eying him, Damian will cut them off from even reaching Bruce and snottily criticize them for being unfit to act as a romantic partner for his father. Then inform them to come back in 20 years if they ever learn the difference between a child and a chihuahua. Some walk away in a huff. Others will actually start an argument with a honest to god 13 year old child in the middle of a charity gala for a children's hospital. Soon as Brucie comes over to meet Dami's "new friends," Damian is in full Angel Mode aside from the mimed death threats from behind his Dad's back. The young women go as sour as expired milk when Brucie seems to mistake them for Damian's school friends.
Dick notices someone trying to spike Bruce's drink? Dickie is doing a backflip off a chandelier and stumbling the landing just enough to knock the glass and spill it over the person spiking it. Brucie is in full concerned Dad mode, making sure he isn't hurt. Dickie is apologizing for the spill. Slipping a tracker on the would be kidnapper while trying to dry off their suit jacket with a hankie. Both Brucie and Dick insist that they will pay for the dry cleaning. Then Dick offers to show off some magic tricks and accidentally makes their "aspirin" disappear.
Tim steams rolls into undercover reporters that crash galas and pins them into polite conversation about stocks, often dragging them to meet other people to get a more in depth perspective on some economic subject so they have zero opportunities to snoop. Sometimes he will do the same with reporters that were actually invited. Clark is never amused by Bruce sicking Tim on him when he's trying to discreetly apologize to him for messing up one of Bruce's undercover operations or lecture him about how dangerous it is to work undercover without backup or even just a heads up.
When business men approach Brucie to make a shady deal Jason will smile pleasantly and nod along side with Brucie. Shoot a text to one of the other kids. When Brucie steps away to take a call, Jason gives a short list of the most illegal shit the person was involved in; what exposing it could do to their business, their reputation, and to their livelihood. Goes over how he could go on all night about their other deals but Heaven Forbid the wrong person overhears and exposes everything, then wraps up with a vague threat about some friends he has underground if they get any ideas. When Brucie comes back after helping Damian fix his tie, they politely excuse themselves to leave the party. Brucie & Jason are concerned about how pale and clammy they seem to be all of a sudden and offer to find a doctor. Jason is in full Theater Kid Mode and thriving. It's dangerous to leave if they feel sick. What if someone tries to mug them in the parking lot? What if their driver was attacked and swapped out for someone looking to kidnap them? What if they are sick because the kidnappers already slipped them something in the fancy lil finger sandwiches! This is Gotham! They should stay a little longer until it either passes or they can get a hold of a safe driver that can escort them home! Brucie absolutely has to agree with his son! Almost all of his kids were kidnapped at one point or another and its always the worst, he was sick with worry everytime and terrified they'd get hurt! He couldn't bare the thought of any other family going through that!
Everyone knows that Brucie loves his children and will do anything to make sure they are happy and healthy. Everyone also knows that Brucie's kids love their dad just as much.

All of them are Eddie Munson fics since I am going through some severe brain rot because of this spicy golden retriever.
The order is random and not indicative of how much I liked them. There is no ranking, just sharing some really good pieces of work so we can all enjoy it!
10 Recommendations || 🐇 = My opinion. || Pink Color = SMUT
Tumblr media

🐇: No, because YOU hurt my feelings. You gave me an amazing one-shot with banging smut and then broke my heart. I love you and this piece, and forgive you, but damn.

The Soulmates (series) by @neonghostlights

Prompts 7, 8 and 9 with Jason
Oh yeah I'll definitely make something to eat after this
Genuinely idk what to put in the notes of these posts anymore since I'm writing these for the queue so a lot of stuff that's like. About events and what imma do are likely gonna be irrelevant by the time the post gets out SOBS
Anyways unrequited love and drunken confession can be seen as connected, mutual pining can be seen as its own stand alone thing! Had a cool idea to link up prompts!!
Tumblr media
UNREQUITED LOVE
I am a sucker for childhood friends turning into lovers... however imagine if Jason always had a crush on you but because of everything that happened you two never got together. As far as you know hes likely dead and he has no idea what you're doing in your life. Even if you never return to camp hes always going to be thinking about you. Theres this.. hollow feeling pit in his chest when he remembers you. Are you still out there? Did you ever find someone else? Are you thriving? It.. hurts.. and if he didnt feel the obligation to protect his and his mothers burial site he would feel inclined to try to seek you out.. but what then? How would he find you, and more importantly would you want him in your life?
MUTUAL PINING
Jason tries hard to be flattering to you. Whether it be trying to be the perfect gentleman to you by doing everything you need him to do when you ask, as well as protecting you and offering his entire self to you.. hes going to be trying his best! Sure sometimes he might he stubborn with his stances on things or he might be clueless but he does try to treat you as best as he can! Hes very bashful and shy when you show the same feelings, wanting to do the best for him in return.. he tries to insist that you dont need to do anything and hes fine with doing the heavy lifting.. though.. it does feel nice to be wanted for once.. it's a guilty pleasure, at least to him that's how he views it. In a world where everyone but his mother made him feel like he didnt deserve anything nice, its.. hard for him to just accept hat you're willing to give him all the love you can offer
DRUNKEN CONFESSION
You go out to camp crystal lake and get drunk. Really the fact you didn't get murdered by the man is shocking. Maybe it's because he recognized you as a childhood friend before everything got bad, and how you were wailing out about how you heard the rumors that he was still alive.. or something else. If you were anyone else he would put an end to your drunken sobs as you poured your feelings and grief out, more or less spilling your metaphorical guts out onto the dock as you nursed a bottle of booze. It doesn't feel right for him to come and comfort you.. but just know that your confession didnt go unheard, leaving a very conflicted and confused forest killer

I still can't believe Ted actually went back to Kansas. That's such a terrible writing decision.
And you could say that they wanted Ted to go back so that Jason wouldn't have to be in any potential spin-offs, but if that were the case then why didn't they construct a narrative within which it made sense for Ted to do that?
They could have won the whole fucking thing. Then, Ted's promise would have been fulfilled, at least.
They could have dialed it back with the hints that Ted belonged in London. Ted correcting his mom on British terms, Ted finally understanding football and calling it by that name, Dottie's "he was destined to live in England". The narrative was showing us that London was his home.
They could have shown that he had a support system in Kansas too, but they didn't. All we know waits for him there are his son, his ex-wife who doesn't love him and his mother with whom he has a strained relationship.
They could have made him get better mentally. MUCH better. He calmed down before a panic attack, but that's it. Particularly in the finale, he was distant, cold and unnacepting of any help. He was clearly not in a good place, and it was because he had to leave.
They could have given us an actual reason why he wouldn't accept Rebecca's help with relocating Michelle. I understand that he wanted to be there for his son. But why he was so convinced that he needed to do that in Kansas, specifically, is a mystery to me. They've even showed us Henry thriving in London, playing with the team, having fun. Why, if not to plant the seed that bringing him to the UK was a possibility?
And many other things. It just seems like this move goes against his entire character arc.

Jason goes back to school AU - Part 2
Bruce: So when did you decide that you were going to go back to school?
Jason: *looking up over his book* It’s been in the cards for a while. Well, ever since I got over the whole trying to kill you and Tim thing. I needed a new hobby. Well, one that doesn’t involve anything to do with our side hustle.
Bruce: *smiling softly* What did you decide to study?
Jason: Bachelor of Arts. I’m focusing on English and Creative Writing, hoping for a double Major but I’m doing a History unit this semester and I’m enjoying that a lot as well.
Bruce: I’m not surprised, they were always the subjects that you enjoyed the most. Are you doing in person classes?
Jason: Nah, no way in hell I’d be able to do that and everything else. Online was always going to be the best option. Plus if I’m out of town I can just take a computer and won’t miss anything.
Bruce: Smart choice.
Jason: It wasn’t meant to be a secret. I was planning on saying something, we’ve just had a busy couple of months. Time found out by accident about a month ago. He borrow my computer to show me an article he had been reading and discovered an essay I was working on. I was hoping to tell everyone all at once.
Bruce: I’m not mad. I’m glad that you’ve gone back.
Jason: You are?
Bruce: Of course. You thrived when you were at school. Often it felt like Robin was a hobby. Dick would have done anything to get out of school to be Robin, you, well you lived to learn. I’m glad you’re back at it.
Jason: I never stopped. I just went down a different path for a while and started learning more deadly things.
Bruce: Your missing years don’t count in the way I’m talking about.
Jason: But I learnt so much!
Bruce: *shakes his head* Anyway I’m glad that you’re doing this again.
Jason: Thanks.
Bruce walks out of the room and then pops back in as he remembers something.
Bruce: By the way, how are you paying for it?
Jason: I got a loan.
Bruce: *very slowly* You got a loan.
Jason: Yeah, well it’s not like I have the money lying around.
Bruce: You have a whole education fund you could have used and you got a loan!
Jason: I have an education fund?
