Unpopular opinion: I don’t like Cassian. I liked him in ACOMAF and ACOWAR, but ACOSF ruined him for me. Before this book, his friendship with Feyre was amazing. They shared a fun banter. He helped train Feyre and show her she can be strong and powerful. And Feyre never balked at him, never looked down at him, and kinda saw him as a brotherly figure. And he once defended Feyre to Nesta; had stood between the two sisters just to protect Feyre because he wasn’t sure if Nesta was going to hurt her. But ACOSF totally ruined his character.
Formerly a smart general in charge of an army, Cassian was reduced to little more than a man blinded by lust. He jumped into bed with Nesta, even knowing what she did to Feyre and that she showed no remorse/regret for her treatment. He totally disregarded Feyre and the complications of her pregnancy in the favor of spending time with Feyre’s abuser. I don’t understand how you could do that to someone you consider a friend.
But perhaps it isn’t that surprising. After all, he had little regard for Azriel’s feelings when he willfully played the barrier between him and Mor. He knew that it hurt Azriel when he flirted with Mor, but still did it. If Feyre or Elain had done that to someone Nesta liked, they would be crucified in the fandom. And yet, the only person that receives hate for this is Mor. Perhaps she should’ve made it clear to Azriel that she didn’t like him, but at the end of the day, it is not her responsibility. Azriel should’ve grown up and simply asked Mor if she had feelings. Or better yet, moved on when he saw she made no moves to turn their relationship romantic after being friends for centuries.

i completely agree with you. acosf cassian was nothing like acomaf/acowar cassian and it still breaks my heart thinking about this. sjm destroyed cassians character and for what? everything i loved about cassian was pretty much stripped from him in acosf.
i've said this before and i'll say it again: cassian's role in acosf was reduced to be a fuck buddy, trainer and a semi-therapist. absolutely no character development whatsoever, and the little character traits that we had of cassian that we adored in him, was gone too.

jason can't ready very well, so if marcus were to leave a note for him at any point, it would be a very simple i love you <3 written in all caps surrounded by hearts. and a couple of little smileys + a doodle of them holding hands. over time as jason gets better with it, he does start writing a little bit more in them. and then jason would maybe even write some back. aughgfdjh. he is not good at writing either, so his notes would also be a very simple "i love you" in very wobbly handwriting, with a little (: x at the end. he ends EVERY message he ever writes with a smiley face. i know this is about marcus but that's an improtant jason fact.

I have known my friend M since 6th grade. It has been 12 years. I introduced her to our friend K. I have known K for 19 years. When M got married I knew that our friendship would cool down as she had kids. She would get busy and my place in her life would get replaced. I dont hold it against her or the kids. I just wouldnt fit in anymore. We could see each other in a couple years.
What I didn't think would sour our relationship would be my autism. She had her first kid in April. The last time we talked on the phone was March. We have only seen each other 3 times. I thought she was just busy. But M is always talking to K who is my roommate. They evem get together a lot.
K told me that M has been avoiding me. M is upset that I am not excited enough about baby stuff. Not that I am not supportive, but not excited. I have never liked kids. She is upset that I dont want to hold her baby. I dont like touching people. Before the baby was born I said I wasn't interested in babysitting a baby. Then talked about fun things we (including the baby) could do together. What she heard was that I dont want to be in her or her kids lives. Instead of talking to me about this she just cut me out. And K knew all this. A lot of her problems with me and her babys relationship are caused by her or just my autism. Both M and K are not happy with olmy relationship with the baby. I am not treating the baby bad. I am just not 10000000% in love and always wanting to touch the baby. I have only met the baby 3 times. M and K know I have trouble making emotional connections with people. I dont have an emotional connection with my aunts, uncles, or cousins THAT I SEE MULT TIME A YEAR. When M, K, myself and the baby got together I was constantly pressured to hold or touch the baby. K even played this fun game where she would push the baby at me and laugh as I avioded touching the baby.
I am not mad at M for not talking to me as much as we have in the past, or for not seeing me as often. She had a new baby to deal with. I am not mad that she had trouble reaching out to me as I know (not from her) that post pardam has been kicking her ass and that she cold turkeyed her meds. I am not mad that she though that K could give her the emotional help she needed. I am not mad that K gave her what she needed. I am mad and hurt that they both forgot who and what I am. That when they set those goals that they forgot we are not all playing the same game. I am hurt because 12 YEARS of history and knowing who I am did nothing. I am mad that they forgot that I am autistic. Both M and K are neurodivrse. M has dyslexia, ADHD, and bipolar. K has ADHD and her sister is on the spectrum. I dont understand why those who would normal advocate for autism have suddenly forgotten it exists. I know I can be hard to deal with. That I say things that arnt ment to me rude but is. What I ask is that you tell me when I have fucked up so I can fix it. But they didnt and almost a year has passed. March 17 was the last day I talked to M on the phone. About a month before the baby. Its like the birth of the baby was going to magically make me allo.
It hurts that I am the one expected to fix all of this, when the only thing I did wrong was be autistic. I know that if I say I need time, I will be the bad guy. I have spent my life learning not to care when people judge me for my neuordivergence. I have seen it in the eyes of other kids when I dont do things in the ways they all know. I have seen it in the eyes of teachers who cant understand why I am having so much trouble. The eyes of my grandmother when she cant understand why I cant just do better. The eyes of my mother why I have once again forgotten something that I should of remembered AGAIN. In my father's eyes when I dont socialize like him ir others. I just never thought that of the few people whose opinions do matter, I would still fail in the way I always have.
I dont expect M or K to see this. M left tumblr long ago and K was never on. But for once I hope my thoughts can reach you in a way that you can understand them without you reading past what I have said.

Lucifer still reprimands you if you do something ridiculous, he still crosses his arms and frowns when you tease him, he still sends a scowl your way when you mess around with Diavolo - if anything, the two of you are distant, and alarmingly so to everyone who gazes upon the supposedly happy couple
But that’s only because they can’t see what goes down in private
And yes - the grass is greener behind the closed door of Lucifer’s study
It was different when the two of you were simply in a relationship: Lucifer’s pride was always there. He would allow you to have your way with him, touch his hair and kiss him and hold him, but he could only reciprocate so much
But now that you’re married?
If anything, Lucifer’s pride dictates that he now has to be open with you, the single person he trusts more than anyone else in the world
Something that he can only do in private
And honestly - you savor moments when you’re alone with him because of it
For the first time, he is the one to initiate contact. The barrier of pride is broken, and in its place lingers Lucifer’s neverending desire to be wrapped in your arms

Slowly, the people around you become relieved. They start to understand that you are like any married couple, but that Lucifer was simply having a hard time adjusting to the abrupt closeness
And then, on the day when you and his brothers throw him a surprise birthday party, Lucifer is so overwhelmed by love that he kisses you then and there, right in front of everyone, pride be damned
And the process is slow going, but eventually he becomes as open with you in public as he is in private, until the two of you are so close that it seems nothing can ever keep him from holding your hand the way he wants again

Man was assertive before, but never confident, ya know? All those big, fancy words were more of a coverup for his insecurity after being made fun of for so long
But now?
His confidence is real
And because of it, being around him is actually easier. He doesn’t need to call himself The Great Mammon or remind you to come to him when you need protecting - because at last, he believes those words

Because when he falls asleep every night with his head buried in the crook of your neck, it’s to your words of praise, slowly but steadily building his confidence up

Often in the morning, you’ll be able to tell that he’s having self-deprecating thoughts just by the look in his eye, so you’ll cuddle and kiss and love him for hours until it’s almost lunchtime - and only then, after hours of you reassuring him and reminding him why you love him, does he begin to believe that he isn’t a “yucky otaku”
For the remainder of the day, Levi makes sure to repay you in full - literally showering you in love as he makes you his Player 2 for every video game, going as far as to allow you to sit in his lap while he reads manga over your shoulder
And while things often reset at night - and the next morning the demon looks equally fearful about your decision to marry him, there’s no denying that the amount of time it takes to convince him that you love and want him is growing shorter and shorter
And then, one day, when Levi wakes up, he doesn’t have that look in his eyes at all
And he just straight up kisses you
This is the story of why Levi kisses you every morning, first thing in the morning (even if it’s just a forehead kiss)
Man is eternally grateful to you for bearing with him (despite you insisting that you weren’t “bearing’ with him - you were doing it out of love) while he was so hesitant and fearful, and vows to return every ounce of love tenfold
Man will do anything for you
Of course, he still prefers to stay indoors and to marathon TSL with you
But he does stop glancing away every time you praise him, and all the instances where he might have previously insulted himself now turn into simple blushes where he wraps you in a hug to hide his warm cheeks
Man is surprisingly touchy, even when he’s not fighting with other for your attention
100% sleeps best if you’re spooning him - no questions asked
(And please don’t ask questions - he’ll get so embarrassed)
And yes, after much begging him, he does finally purchase a bed for the two of you to sleep in instead of his bathtub (which is surprisingly comfy, given that you can just lay on top of Levi and cuddle him)
But yes, sometimes he will randomly lift you up in the middle of the night and carry you to the bathtub, because while there’s no chance this man is letting go of you as you sleep, he will always prefer the bathtub

No one would have thought that the Avatar of Wrath would be able to lead such a peaceful life, but the second you guys get married, that’s what things are
Peaceful
Man treats you like royalty, making sure that things are always perfect for you
Mornings are no longer spent at the dining table, but are instead spent on the small table in Satan’s bedroom, where the two of you roll out of bed every morning and lazily curl up together on the same armchair while drinking tea and coffee, chatting about whatever dreams you had
Afternoons are quiet: Satan’s nose in a book and your fingers occupied with whatever your favorite pastime is, but you guys are always right next to each other, always touching in some way
Evenings are calm - Satan will sometimes play a disc of your favorite human world band or will put on some music of his own preferred Devildom artists, and the two of you will simply talk until it’s nighttime and you both are sleepy
In essence, man mellows out after you marry him
And the reason?
He always feels so calm. It’s like you’ve quelled the eternal storm within his heart by marrying him, by promising that you’ll spend the rest of your lives together - and Satan hardly thinks he has any need for emotions like rage and anger when he always feels so blissfully happy with you
It becomes his favorite thing in the whole world to just pull you onto his lap and play with the ring around your finger, listening to the sound of your voice
He’s just so soft for you
Highkey wants to spend the rest of his life locked away inside his room with you, away from other people and other things that make him angry, but he will venture out into public with you because he knows that there’s value in exposing oneself to various social environments
In fact, now if he leaves the house at all, it’s usually with you by his side
His favorite place to visit is 100% the cat shelter, with the local, cozy bookstore taking its place as a close second
But this man will not hesitate to throw hands with anyone who disrespects you
It’s actually one of the reasons why he finds it so tedious to go outside - because no matter what, there’s always some foolish demon that treats you poorly, and then Satan’s disposition dictates that he can’t let that demon go home until the fool learns his place and apologizes
Of course, after the whole ordeal you guys 100% go somewhere to cheer each other up, and that’s the story of how you become the local ice cream store’s most valued customers
But Satan will always prefer being safe in his room with you, surrounded by his books and your things and everything that screams home
And are you guys secretly hiding a cat in your room?
Who knows?
All you can say is that when the stack of “books” eternally buried under Satan’s desk sneezes, it’s not because Satan “enchanted them” to do so

And for the longest time, you really only humor his questions with responses because, well, he’s your husband and you think that he just wants to get to know you better (albeit in a rather unorthodox method)
But then, one day, the two of you are casually walking through the Devildom market in preparation for it being Belphie’s turn to make dinner, and the demon selects the ingredients to your favorite dish without even consciously knowing what it is
And you realize that every question you answered was one Belphie took to heart, and that the reason he always wants to learn so much about you is so that he can use the information to be the best husband he can be
And when you figure it out, you nearly tackle Belphie to the ground in a hug, because you’re so touched
“You’re the best husband ever!” You murmur, wrapping your legs around his waist as you bury your face in the crook of his neck, clinging to him like a koala as you trap him in an embrace he can’t wriggle out of
“Did you really just realize why I always ask these things?” Belphie questions, sighing as if he’s disappointed
But even he can’t hide the small grin that creeps onto his face as you hug him tighter, and you know he’s just savoring the affection. And who are you to deny him any?

Arguably the most stressful marriage, but not for either of you: for the people around you
You guys are that couple
Things were hectic enough before, when you guys would pull pranks on the demons every time you were together. But now that you’re in love? And married??? And ALWAYS together?!?!?
RIP to everyone around you
The two of you never really seem to grow old - your energy is seemingly inexhaustible and you’ve already pranked all 72 demons that Solomon has pacts with four times over (and yes, that does include Barbatos, who has now made multiple threats to break the pact)
But, again, this is one of those instances where there’s a sharp difference between how you guys act in public vs. in private
In public, things are a hot mess. You guys are always laughing, always joking, always smiling
But in the privacy of Solomon’s bedroom, without any potential targets for pranks and any demons that you guys need to keep your guard up around, things change substantially
Contrary to public expectation, you guys are almost completely silent when you’re alone - but it’s not an awkward silence, by any means. No, the silence that you and Solomon find is nothing short of comforting, and every time you guys escape to the confines of his room, you both let out a breath neither of you realized you’d been holding
Because although you guys are strong, and arguably the most powerful team of humans in the Devildom, the fact remains that you guys are human.
And you can only let your guards fully down around each other
Nights are spent in the absence of any loud laughter or obnoxious rackets, the two of you preferring to savor the sound and comfort of silence. You guys fit together like pieces to a puzzle, and no words are necessary for the two of you to change into your nightwear and snuggle up under the same blanket, soft sighs escaping your lips the moment your skin comes into contact with one another
It’s only times like now, when there’s no one else in the world around, that you both can find true peace
And on nights like these, Solomon will just hold you close to him, sometimes pressing his forehead against yours, and he’ll stroke your sides softly, thumbs rubbing soothing circles into your skin
And of course, you’ll reciprocate in full, pressing soft, open-mouthed kisses to the man’s jaw as he continues his ministrations, sometimes letting out a quiet hum of contentment as you pull him closer
It’s a relationship where speech isn’t necessary; you guys are so in sync with each other and so helplessly in love that words only complicate things
But still, on occasion, one of you will open your mouths to disrupt the silence, and on nights like these, there’s really only one thing either of you will even consider saying
“I love you”
And if there’s one certainty in life, it’s the fact that the other will repeat the same phrase back, punctuating it with a kiss that reminds you both why you love each other so much

The marriage that everyone foresaw

This is the relationship where everyone knew about it except for you two
Even the day Simeon proposed: it was so spontaneous - he was planning on doing it the following week - but every single person who crossed paths with him could see how helplessly in love he was with you, so it shocked no one when the two of you announced the “surprise” that you were getting married
And this is arguably one of the best decisions you have ever made
In every way
Simeon’s an angel, so marriage is probably the most important to him out of everyone. He was treating you like royalty long before you two got together, but now that the two of you are married? This man CANNOT hold back. And believe him, when he says he will get you whatever you want - he will get you whatever you want
Funny part is, most of the time, this man knows what you want before you do
You’ll be diligently taking notes at the RAD library and you won’t realize that your pencil is blunt until the words are barely legible - but when you get up to find a sharpener, you’ll see that Simeon tossed one onto your desk right before he left to grab a book
You’ll wake up at three in the morning and realize you’re thirsty - but the moment you open your eyes and sit up on the bed, Simeon will already be there with that charming smile and a glass of water in his hand
You’ll be returning from a session of painting your nails with Asmo, only to realize that there’s no way you can grab your keys from your pocket without smudging the semi-dry nail polish - and Simeon will miraculously come home at that second, kissing you on the forehead before opening the front door for you
Like seriously, it’s a gift
Of course, then there comes the day where you try to return the favor, trying to study the way his eyebrows furrow as he reads his book to determine when he’s about to stop and turn on the TV instead (only for you to triumphantly hand him the remote)
And then the affection never ends and the rest of your marriage is characterized by nonstop trying to outdo each other in thoughtfulness that everyone just looks at and sighs because it’s so wholesome
And will Luke become your and Simeon’s honorary child?
Absolutely.
And does Luke hate this in every single way?
Oh yes:
“This is ridiculous! I am two thousand years older than MC! You can’t expect me to have to listen to them every time they tell me to do something! They should be listening to me!”
“Watch your language, young man,” Simeon warns. “I won’t have you talk that way in this house.”
“It’s not even a house!” Luke screams in defiance. “And I refuse! I will say what I want, when I want, and how I want!”
“That’s enough, Luke. Go to your room and think about what you’ve said until you’re ready to apologize!”
And God help Luke the day he accidentally calls Simeon “Dad,” because nothing can break the family after that moment
Barbatos

Listen, marriage isn’t a concept that demons are familiar with
They love you, so they’ll do it for your sake - but if a demon weds a human, the demon is 100% playing it by ear and desperately hoping that they’re doing things right
But Barbatos?
Nah, this man gives everything his all, and you’re more important than everything combined. So suffice it to say that when he marries you, he is committed to being the best husbando he can possibly be
And how does he go about achieving such a thing, you ask?
Why, two simple words: “Teach me.”
He asks that you be completely upfront and honest with him about what you desire, and he does everything he can to fulfill them
Things start slow, of course
You mention to him that married couples often sleep in the same bed and share a bedroom - and then he’s requested that Diavolo provide him a new room (one which doesn’t have doors that lead to other timelines) where the two of you live together
Then you talk about how married couples usually have matching wedding rings, and the next morning you find two obscenely expensive (but beautifully artistic) rings, and a wide-eyed butler asking if they’re to your liking
You explain that married couples sometimes get closer to each other by having a family pet and (bless his heart) Barbatos takes you to an aquarium the next day and the two of you bring home a pet fish
And things are slow going with Barbatos, but progress is steady
And soon, he starts to get the hang of it
You guys don’t just sleep in the same bed, he starts to pull you closer. Casual touches turn into cuddling, and then all of a sudden he can only sleep if he’s spooning you in the process
He decides that he likes it when you wear things he buys you, so he gifts you even more woefully expensive but equally stunning jewelry, until you’re always leaving your shared room with one of Barbatos’s presents adorned on your figure
And although Barbatos is too responsible to get rid of the (immortal) pet fish he bought, the two of you have a talk and then you head down to the pet store and buy an actual pet, one which you guys can touch and hug and cuddle
And before long, Barbatos doesn’t need you to teach him how to be a good husband, he realizes that most of it is instinctive; he understands that to make you happy, he really just needs to do the things that make him happy
Of course, he still approaches many things textbook style
Every morning and every night, man will whisper that he loves you - no excuses. You guys could have a fight and he will still do this
But gradually as time moves on, he sees that marriage doesn’t have to be a big, fancy show
And he starts to just savor the sensation of being helplessly in love with you
Diavolo
POWER COUPLE
No, but literally - you guys are the most powerful couple in the world
And Diavolo is living for it
You are royalty now, and Diavolo won’t let you forget that for a single second
You want a snack? That’s fine, here’s a nine-course buffet featuring food from the human world, Celestial Realm, and Devildom
Been feeling tired and want a break? No worries, the next week has been declared a newfound Devildom holiday, so rest up for as long as you want
You don’t like this specific brand of nail polish? Oh okay, there are now four hundred samples in your room to help you find one you do like
It honestly gets to the point where you have to sit Diavolo down (*cough* sit on Diavolo’s lap *cough*) and tell him that no, when you tell him you’re considering cutting your hair, he doesn’t have to hire four professional hairstylists and a consultant to help you select the style
After much discussion he agrees to talk these things out with you
And it’s the sweetest thing in the world
“Babe, can you help me get this jar? I can’t reach it.”
“Does this mean you just want me to get you the jar? Or do you want me to make it a law that all Devildom households cannot have shelves higher than the reach of the standard human height?”
“Just the jar, hon.”
“Oh”
Will never deny you anything, ever
Actually begins putting your interests in front of his own, asking Barbatos to cook your favorite meals and desserts instead of Diavolo’s own preferences because hey, food is just food, and it makes him so happy to see your face light up when you find that dinner is your favorite dish
And listen there’s one thing you need to know about: this man’s bed
Holy shit, nothing compares
It is the most comfortable thing in the world, and you’re pretty sure that even God is missing out if he hasn’t taken a nap on Diavolo’s bed because goddamn that shit is amazing
Like you love Diavolo to death but his bed is absolutely revolutionary with how comfortable it is, and you really feel like you could spend an eternity just starfished out under the covers
And of course, since you love the bed and Diavolo loves you, the two of you can spend hours just lazing around in the morning, cuddling and giggling until it’s almost lunchtime
And mornings with Diavolo are the best
Again, though, you’re royalty, now that you’re married to him. So Diavolo isn’t going to let you be woken up like a commoner. With him, there are no alarms, no loud voices, none of that obnoxious shaking you awake or any such nonsense
No, when Diavolo wakes you up every morning, it’s truly in a way fit for royalty, in a way that only he can do - a way that you honestly prefer to all the others ways you’ve been woken
And does this include Diavolo smirking up with you every morning from between your thighs?
Absolutely.
But does that stop him from doing it every day?

Hi saint! I just wanted to tell you how much i love your story, and it makes me sad to hear you’re having a bad time :( writing should be fun for the author! We’d be so sad if you dropped SY but we’d understand! Take care of yourself! But also while there’s the negative Nancys out there, I’m sure there’s much more positive interactions out there! I include myself! I’ve been having a rough time and reading SN/SY has seriously made my days better event though it’s full of angst haha. I’ve listened to that song before but after reading chapter 8, MY GOD. the song broke my heart 🥲 I understand that y/n told Satoru to move on and utahime was there for him in his lowest times, so it makes sense their relationship evolved to that but I STILL will root for y/n and Satoru be together in the end 😭 “and I thought my heart was detached from all the sunlight of our past” like… this line? I want to believe she still has intense feelings for him, based on this song and all the character interviews but IDK 😭 I’m hoping time apart, being with other people, a coparenting relationship for sachiro will help them grow, heal and find their way back to each other 😍

i’m sorry that people are making you not want to continue this story! i hate that they can’t comprehend that this story is complex and full of angst with characters who are just as complex and who might not make decisions that would make everything instantly better. but that’s why this story is sooo amazing, bc it’s realistic in the fact that not everything is always going good, some things don’t have a happy ending. it’s a beautiful story! it’s raw, complex, broken but so well written. like if this was a book in a store i would buy it in a heartbeat. hope you don’t let them get to you but if you do decide to stop writing it, i support you 100%. <3

I some how feel with the influx of bullshit your receiving, that people dropped your story on tiktok or something. The vile things people are spouting even in comments regarding Hime’s infertility is disgusting. In Hime’s case, her infertility isn’t permanent and we all know Gojou has super swimmers. If i knew POS wouldn’t make miscarriage comments, i’d enjoy Hime being pregnant even if it physically sickens me because of pure spite for the people who can’t handle MATURE, fictional works of art.

As a reader I'm bias to certain characters but when I'm in writing mode i have to be neutral and give some "fairness" to all characters. I feel like discussions like these should be among the readers and not directly to you saint.

hello hello hellooo i’m sorry i can’t respond to everyone but i do appreciate these words of encouragement :’( i’m just very, very disappointed this weekend bc i was rly looking forward to write sy8 and interact w u guys, but the moment i opened my askbox, there’s just so much unnecessary discourse and negativity. i guess it was a cherry on top on an already stressful week and i felt like i had no space to breathe. the fact that some asks i receive are just plain ridiculous too.
ngl it’s been making me think twice abt continuing the series bc i feel like i’m giving u guys my 101% pumping out 15-20k words a chapter and yet some people can be so entitled and ungrateful and just rude. but i know many of u aren’t like that so i guess that’s what’s really keeping me going T^T

rating the hats in The Untamed
apparently ranking things is my brand now! (and one day i will rank les mis adaptations by the quality of their nun hats)
honestly my main takeaway from this was actually that there aren’t Enough hats in The Untamed. also shoutout to @aemlai for reminding me of a couple of them!
1. jin guangyao’s monstrosity

this fucker is almost the entire reason I’m making this post in the first place. I hate it so much. I hate it more than any character. every other bit of high fashion in the show is impeccable but this hat fills me with such a deep rage that words can’t do it justice. it’s a horrible hat and if i had the editing skills of digitally removing it from every scene i would. this hat killed my parents and framed my uncle.
2. wen ning’s farmer chic
5/10
I like this hat. It’s a bit on the tattered side (hence the middling score) but it’s a nice look. Admittedly, this is also because Wen Ning looks nice most of the time and I can’t bring myself to say anything bad about him, but it’s a good hat! visually interesting as it changes up his look, as well as thematically appropriate for selling vegetables.
3. ?? clan hats

I don’t know who these guys are but I wish I did because their hats are sick. finally some good fuckin food. I like the rest of their outfits too but that’s not what we’re rating here. their hats are tall and fun shapes. it’s a crime that they’re relegated to background shots.

i’ve only watched the show once all the way through and i Did Not keep track of the minor characters/less important clans. I will say that this clan as a whole loses points for trying to shoot wwx but I can’t say anything bad about their hats. stylish AND they look secure enough to stay on during battle. i really like the combination of shapes. excellent hattage all round, pity about the guys wearing them.
5. the hat wei wuxian is wearing when he says that if he’s going to die, at least it could be lan wangji who kills him

On a practical, aesthetic level, this is a Good Hat. It’s well-made, visually appealing, keeps the rain off wwx’s face so we get a front seat to his expressions of determination and despair.
on a thematic level, I love this hat. It’s not fancy, it’s not grand, it’s just the right thing suitable for the occasion. The show has the long-running joke of “the Yiling Patriarch must be doing horrible things” and then cutting to wwx gardening/playing with a-yuan and this hat embodies what is happening in this scene so well. wwx’s rescue of the wen POWs and rebellion against the other clans is constantly portrayed by said clans as an act of malicious arrogance, he thinks he’s better than them/he does whatever he wants/he makes everything about him/he’s wildly irresponsible
but the hat?
the hat is something a farmer might wear, to keep the rain or sun out of their eyes. it’s sturdy, sensible, unshowy. it’s neither glamorous not exciting, but it needs to be worn. there are plenty of times that wwx does draw attention to himself in an conceited way, but the truth of this moment that is so widely perceived as arrogant and threatening is hammered home by the simple, unassuming hat. He’s not thinking about how he looks, just what he needs to do.
5. wen qing’s goth hat

you can’t complete an extremely risky and painful medical procedure if you ain’t cute ! not sure if the veil is meant to be a failsafe in case jiang cheng’s blindfold slips off or whether wen qing just hasn’t had an opportunity to wear it but either way absolutely stellar decision. sure, it “hides wen qing’s face from the audience so her identity can be revealed later” but lbr it was super obvious what was going on with the core transfer to everyone but jiang cheng lol. this is easily my favourite hat of the series! this is the hat that made me wish we had more hats!

Avatar: The Last Airbender Critique
There are already a million of posts like this one, and I might be saying things that’ve already been said a million times but I’ve recently become reheated about the ATLA ending and wanted to let it out -_- No one asked, this is true, and this may or may not be a way to stall from this final project I still have to complete, but here’s 10 things I didn't like and/or would change about the show that likely shouldn’t need changing because they should have been done in the first place.
1. Katara should have apologized to Sokka after TSR
It should have happened and it didn't. In my canon-avoiding mind, Katara and Sokka have a heartfelt conversation where she apologizes for the awful things she said, Sokka says he forgives her and he's sorry if he wasn't as there for her as much as he should have been, which he follows up with "but I'm happy you listened to Aang and took his advice," leading into my next point
2. Katara should have said that not killing Yon Rha was her choice
And thats why it was the right one. Not because Aang already said it was wrong. No no. It was the right choice because that's what she chose. I love my mom to death and can't imagine losing her in any way, let alone the way Katara did. And I can't say for sure that if I was in her shoes that I know what I would have done f that yes I do I would have killed that motherfucker. But I also know that if Katara decided not to kill him, then that was one of two correct choices because they were Katara's choices to make. Not Aang's or anyone else's and this should have been clarified. I know it's a kids show but I said what I said. Next point.
3. Katara should have said more after telling Aang she was unsure at the Ember Island Players
Katara hasn't had any trouble saying how she feels, especially when it comes to helping others and making them feel better, whether she was right or wrong. But she holds back or overly softens blows and seems to even shrivel up at times when it comes to Aang. And me no likey. I had a boyfriend who I adored and admired and just genuinely looked up to. I'm also a shy and anxious person who hates confrontation, but because I loved him, I never refrained from telling him when he was wrong. I might have been a little shaky about it but I did it tho because when you want to be with someone you walk through the grass and stomp through the mud. And I personally feel like either in that moment or later on in an added scene that Katara should have voiced to Aang how unheard and disrespected she felt about his words before TSR and his actions on the balcony. I hate being uncomfortable and my secondhand embarrassment is toxic but I would love to see a scene of this. I always imagined Katara saying stuff like "But I'm not you Aang, and I'm not an Air Nomad," or "Zuko could understand why I needed to go, and I'd hoped you would too," or...I'm out of ideas but you get the idea. And you know what, I know I'm a hard Zutara shipper, but them having this conversation would honestly make me respect their relationship a whole lot more should it be believably written to end on a good note (I don't see how it could be but hey I'm an open minded person and I did think they were cute together once upon a time). Basically, all I'm saying is that Katara is no small voice and she should have been written that way when with Aang. Boyfriends can make you shy but should never make you weak. Period. Next point.
4. No rock! ONLY GROWTH!!!!!!!!!!!
I still squint my eyes whenever I remember that rock that unblocked Aang's chakra. What even was that? The laziest writing possible in my opinion. That's what. And Aang deserved better. What should have happened should have been that Aang started to lose to Ozai. And then as Ozai's about to deliver the finishing blow, Aang has flashbacks of everyone he's trying to save and honor, ending with a very prominent flashback of Katara with the guru's disembodied voice reminding Aang to let go of his attachments to become all he needs to be...then BOOM! Baby boy is back on his feet, chakra unblocked, he kicks Ozai's ass, I'm crying hysterically on the floor, as are the rest of us, and he wins. Then at the end of the series, instead of a kiss, he gives Katara an apology. She accepts, everyone else comes to join them on the balcony, cinematic group hug, camera pan into the sun. I don't know lol. Basically what I'm saying is that Aang did not deserve some deus ex machina. He deserved to grow and become his best self like everyone else got to.
5. Aang should have heard differently in The Storm
Katara is a very fate-minded person and this is when I saw potential for her to become a toxic character in regards to Aang. When he admits that he ran away from home 100 years ago, Katara tells him that that was basically a good thing because he was meant to be here and now. Like...no? What Aang did, though understandable for someone so young, was still wrong. Yes he would have maybe been killed but I'm like 10000000% sure they had a plan to protect and evacuate the literal avatar. And what was technically "meant to be" was a new avatar. But hey, what's done is done and kicking Aang while he's down is a no-no in this household. But that doesn't change the fact that Aang needed and deserved honesty. Maybe the fisherman could have said this, I don't know, but I feel like Aang should have been told by someone that although running away was wrong, it's a blessing he and Appa were able to survive and be able to help save the world now with his amazing friends found-family. Maybe this is too harsh, and maybe even outright wrong, but I felt like Aang deserved a truer answer here to support and comfort him.
6. MAILEE!!!!

7. Spiritual sigh*
Don't make me go into detail -_- I will say though that although Aang and Katara are both amazing individuals capable of earth shattering things, they were not a healthy fit for one another. This is evident in the original series and especially in their children from LOK. They both deserved the best but better than one another.
8. ZUTARAAAAAAA
This is a Zutara blog you KNEW this was coming, as it should. There's just too much. There's too damn much. I would give a real paragraph to this too, but, I mean, there's already so much proving that this was the pair. Fics, metas, rants, this site. Scroll through my blog or any of the ATLA related blogs I follow and...dude. These two were meant to be together and I'll mourn the narrative brilliance WASTED for no good reason every day for the rest of my life. No reason these two shouldn't be married with three kids. sob. I will take this part to say thank you to the amazing fic writers that gave Katara, Zuko, Mai, and Aang what they deserved that the writers didn't have the guts to give them themselves. Next point tho.
9. AANG AND ONJI
Good God almighty. Why not this? WHY NOT THIS? I'm putting on my bullet proof vest and I'm going to say this; Aanji is cuter than Zutara. Now before you scorn me or whatever, let me explain. Zutara for me is like steak. No. Chicken parmesan. I like chicken parmesan better. The point though is that Zutara is savory. You know? I don't see them as cute, I see them as Obviously. Aanji on the other hand is like a bag of my favorite candy. They are like a brownie. A cookie. Girl Scout Samoas!...I don't know what words are anymore. This post got way out of hand. I guess what I'm saying is that for Zutara, I scream, but for Aanji, I squeal. I hope that makes sense. But here's the main point I want to make. Onji never knew who Aang really was. And Aang was always, at his core, himself. She very obviously had a crush on Aang for his personality and that was crazy cute and frankly preferable to Katara's "I...guess he is." (you know exactly what I'm talking about) Anyway, I kept wanting more of them together. I wish all the time that we'd gotten to see her again, with a more fleshed out character and all. And in the way that I imagine the show should have gone, she could have been the perfect love interest for Aang, during this episode or way later, even in the comics! Another WASTED opportunity for greatness and I will, again, never recover T-T
10. Iroh get your ass back here
Maybe this is a misguided critique but I hated that Iroh just left Zuko alone in the fire nation at the end of the series. Baby was in trouble in every sense of the word and Iroh was just like "See ya! You got this nephew." I'm expected to believe that? I'm expected to accept that? No no no. He should have at least stayed for a few years to help Zuko stay upright and, you know, alive. And by "upright" I don't mean "good." I just mean been there to support him because Lord knows he needed it, at least in the beginning of his reign. It was cute that Iroh was able to settle down with his own teashop after all those years of violence and mourning and running and this and that. I was more than happy for him for being able to have that peace finally. But I still think it could have waited a little while longer so he could support Zuko.
That's it I guess. I know not everything I've said makes the most sense in one way or another, but I enjoyed putting it together all the same. Thank you for reading and have a great day. I'll go finish my final now.

1) Her single appearance on Chanyeol’s first vlog.
"You only come to me when you're hungry..." Chanyeol whined filming her as she ate her salad.
"Uh?" she asked.
"What?" he frowned.
"I thought I heard you complaining."
2) Her reaction when the fans said she had to be single forever.
"So the boys have to wait until their 50's and Somi must be single forever?" JYP asked the fans, laughing. Somi also giggled, thinking the fans were only joking.
"Yes!" the crowd answered him, and she was surprised.
"Wait a second," she said, emotionlessly laughing. "are you guys serious?"
"Calm down, Somi-ssi." Suho teased her, but she was pretty sure he was also uncomfortable.
"That's so unfair!" she said, making the crowd and the boys laugh. "They're almost on their 50's and I've just turned 20!"
3) 'Sehun was jealous of me because I was better-looking.'
"You must know that Sehun oppa was the one who was more against me being in the group with them, right? So, he told me yesterday it was because I was better-looking than him."
4) When she shocked us with her acting skills in While You Were Sleeping and Vagabond.
There’s nothing else to say but perfection.
5) That V-Live she told us about her trainee days.
"Everything was so difficult at that time. I was shy to the point the teachers had to threaten to call my parents to make me sing or dance. And then, they (managers) came to me saying that I'd be part of a boy group, out of nowhere. I wasn't a dancer, but they gave me the title of the lead dancer in a group with Kai and Lay were the main dancers. I had to work so much to get to their level... But it was all worth it."
6) Making bank for SM.
Throwback to when Somi was in EVERY commercial (Sprite, Samsung...). Some say she probably made more money off of endorsements and appearances on television than EXO’s first activities.
7) Getting her first win against Baekhyun + the boys cheering them.
"I'd like to thank all the people that helped me with the production of this song, the staffs, G-Dragon oppa for kindly helping and participating... " from the corner of her eyes she saw Baekhyun sulking. She laughed and hugged his waist. "To Baekhyun oppa who also worked hard on his song, we're all winners today."
8) "Kyung", "Mi", "Cross!"
Every time Kyungsoo and Somi were about to be weird together, and they did their KyungMi Cross thingy.
9) How she was in every time Suho got hit by Kai and/or Chanyeol.
She’d be playing with Kai and Chanyeol every time poor Suho got hit and was probably the first one to laugh.
10) being 10000000% unbothered by shirtless EXO.
When the whole fandom went crazy on how indifferent she reacted when Kai was shirtless and she entered the room.
"Oppa," she called him. He turned around, still fixing his face mask. "here's your blanket." she threw it on his lap.
"Thanks So."
