HEARTSTOPPER SEASON 2!!!

I need to rant so here is one about each main character.

Issac: I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alice portrayed being aroace so well and I almost cried when he met the aroace art guy. AND THE WHOLE ROMANCE SUFFOCATING THING WHEN YOU KNOW YOU AREN'T GETTING THAT!!!!!! Also seeing more of his character and really fell in love with it It made my aroace heart so happy (I could go on lol)

Nick: I really related to him this season with his coming out struggles and wanting to come out but also not. Alice yet again exceeded expectations and perfectly showed how the queer teenage experience is! I love how much he helped charlie this season and his amazing development from season 1. He was just amazing in every way.

Charlie: His story was a lot this season in the best way. His story with his mental health really spoke to me and I related to it. This was exactly how is feels to struggle with your mental health. I loved seeing him get more comfortable, realize what he deserves and Im happy that he told ben and harry to fuck off. also I love how he was there for tao and nick and how he supported nick so much in his coming out and made sure not to pressure him and he truly won the best boyfriend award for that. Also the way he made sure to help tao and be his best friend their friendship rocked this season. Another amazing character

Ben: I fucking hate him and what he did to imogen and charlie he deserves to go die in a hole.

Imogen: I loved her so much this season!!!!!!!! I have to admit that I was a bit iffy about her in season 1 but she stood up for herself, made real friends and she was just amazing this whole season I also really love her dynamic with everyone.

Naomi and Felix: They both really helped elle find out who she was and what she wanted to pursue and I'd like to see them join the paris squad in the future!

Elle: Her character developed so much this season, you could see how much more confident she was getting and I loved seeing her pursue her interests and truly find herself and get together with tao! They are so good for each other and I think they will really come through for each other in the future and will be each other's rocks through it all.

Tao: My guy really likes elle and treats her like a queen. She is his everything and its so cute, He tried too hard at first but when he was himself he was at this best. I also loved him and charlie this season they are the best best friends and the lock thing was so cute.

Tara: She cares so much, She takes care of every single one of her friends and supported darcy in every way she could. Their relationship really took off this season, I liked seeing their ups and downs and them persevering through it all!

Darcy: Alice definitely used her character to portray the dark side of being a queer teen. I liked seeing her being shown as having two different sides and her not wanting to talk about her home struggles and presenting as this happy person. I really relate to that. She was great and I hope she gets the support she needs soon!

Sarhar: I'm sensing something between her and Imogen and I really like it! She was a great character!

Christian, Otis and Sai: I liked seeing nick with his supportive rugby guys and they were great!

David: He sucked so much of course. He is a homophobic piece of shit and he can fuck off.

Tori: She was great and really stood up for her brother and I loved all her scenes with at the Nelson-Spring dinner! she was iconic as always

Nellie: I LOVE NELLIE SO MUCH

Sarah (Nicks mom): SHE IS SO AMAZING AND ALWAYS SUPPORTS NICK!

  - He was an Alpha. 

  - His team was highly regarded and respected. His team respected him highly. By some, he was considered a prodigy. 

  - Every move he made was calculated to bring him closer to his goal, no distractions allowed. 

  - He had a goal and he was hell-bent on reaching it. 

  -It's no surprise to your fellow students to find that you were an omega. You were rather meek and shy. You kept to yourself on the best of days and purposefully isolated yourself on worse ones.

  - You were an omega. 

  - You had few friends though none went to school here. You were accepted into the school due to exceptional grades and recommendations. The school was seeking to expand into the arts, and in that aspect, you were an excellent starting point. 

  - You won medals in competitions. Never landing below third. You never cared for your medals. In your eyes, it was all subjective. Not to mention you had never been extremely competitive anyhow. 

  - you only desired to see your skills grow and to inspire others to follow their own dreams. 

Essentially, the two of you never should have met, be in any sort of friendship let alone a relationship. The differences were too large, the first years would say. If only they were privy to how you met. 

"Wah?? So you're the new transfer student?" You glanced up from the hallways tiled flooring to search for the voice. When he waved at you and began to jog towards you with a lazy grin marking his features, you slunk back into your oversized school jacket. 

"Yeah...uhm, haha, that's me." You tucked your hair behind your ear nervously. 'He's an alpha.' Although his scent was a weird one, you found his constant seeking you out every morning just to say hi rather endearing. It'd be lying to say you didn't form an itty bitty crush on him at the beginning of your friendship. 

As time went on he became your guide, and a strong brother-like figure to you, showing you parts of the school you had been too nervous to explore by yourself and encouraging you to take pictures when you asked if it was allowed. You were inspired by what you were seeing, you absolutely had to have a reference for later. He continued to guide you, most definitely spinning false and grandeur stories about how each place came to be. He didn't need to be right, it made you laugh and it kept you interested; You stayed interested even when you got to how the gym was built by angels who deemed volleyball a holy sport above all others. 

"Liar." You giggled, covering your mouth with your hand as tears sprang to your eyes at his overdramatic antics. "WHAT? Omega-chaaan! I would never, E V E R! Lie to you!" He shook his head furiously and wagged a finger in your face. He was about to start again but a calm voice interrupted. 

"Oh, there you are. Coach wants to start early with practice." The beta had blonde hair and a bored look on his face. 

"Aw, what? That’s bull- wah! Omega-chan come watch me practice!" He cried waving his arms frantically as you thought it over. 

"I dunno," you eyed the beta male wearily. 

"It's perfect yeah? See, you can practice the Anatoly of us while we play!"

He ushered you in and motioned towards the bleachers. He was right you supposed. This would be a good way to practice. 

At you were good at being a wallflower and despite the beta male who ignored your presence, you found yourself comfortable knowing that Tendou would step in should someone give you any issues. 

Wakatoshi stretched quietly in the changing room. Nodding silently at Tendou when he entered and quickly, as though someone was going to give him a medal, stripped himself of his school uniform and into slightly more comfortable training clothes. He was being sloppy and nearly tripping when he pulled his shorts up. 

His brow quirked down but he said nothing, figuring it was more nonsense from the Guess Monster. 

He left the changing room and just as he began to walk over to the storage closet to grab the volleyballs, a new scent filled his senses. Though unnoticed to himself and the other Alpha and betas around him, his pupils dilated ever so slightly. 

His head turned from the handle of the closet to assess the gym. There was an omega here. He could smell her. Somewhere, he raked his gaze across the room and a slight shift of fingers was all it took to have his gaze latch onto you like a magnet to a fridge. 

Your form was small. Knees up to your chest with a book resting on top of them. A pencil clenched in between your fingers. You tucked a strand of hair behind your ear. Your chosen seat was high up in the bleachers, hidden ever so slightly behind support that jutted out of the wall. 

He breathed in your scent slowly, allowing the warm sweet scent to roll over his palette. His pupils dilated and adjusted, connecting the sight of you to your soothing scent.

Omega. 

He didn't realize he was making his way closer to you until his body was faced with the prospect of climbing up the bleachers. This time when his gaze landed on you, wide, doe-like orbs stared back. Quickly almost fearfully, your body tensed and you looked away.

Knows her place. 

He narrowed his gaze in a challenging way. Who let you into the gym? Omegas were most definitely not allowed at any other time than official games. They potentially could be major distractions at the very least. You shifted nervously, and your fingers flipped through a few pages. 

Her fingers were shaking. 

"Ne~Omega-chan you have to watch!"

Of course, it had been Tendou. Of course, he would let in an omega. 

He turned away, ignoring your presence, for now, Tendou would cause mayhem otherwise, especially if he thought you'd be forced to leave. 

The game went well. In fact, Tendou was most definitely showing off the entire time, calling out for your praise and attention. 

Though he didn't find himself drowning in curiosity, he still listened closely when Semi asked Tendou about the shy omega. 

"That your omega, 'Tori?" That was a new nickname. 

"Nah, she’s my friend! She's shy and stuff so I don't think she had anyone else. She looked lonely so ' voila '!" 

"You're supposed to form friendships through common interests and tastes-"

Tendou stared in confusion. Semi sighed and rubbed his temples. Reon and Goshiki piped up out of curiosity helping to explain exactly what Semi meant. 

Lakatos didn't bother to hear the rest. Instead, he went to join the first years in the gym, supervising them to ensure they didn’t fool around instead of cleaning. While they scrambled to gather everything up he searched for the omega, despite her lingering scent, he saw nothing. Then again, before he could complete his scan, a volleyball rolled and bumped into his ankle.

He kneeled and picked it up, testing the pressure in his hands. He was about to toss the ball back to the first year who dropped it, but he caught sight of you from his peripheral, and before he even fully realized why his inner alpha commanded him to do it, he found himself lining up to set. 

Throw. Run. Jump. Slam the ball. Hard. Harder than needed. Put force into it. Strongest Alpha. The strongest. 

His knees bent when he landed. The echo of the ball landing was still reverberating throughout the gym, the air was thick with unknown tension and no first-year dared to speak. The ball slowly rolled back towards him, and once more he picked it up. Except for this time he turned and handed the ball to the kid that dropped it. Instinctually his gaze searched for your face among the first years who know were shutting everything down. 

You were looking at him too. The moment he locked eyes with your own, you shot your gaze downwards to stare at your feet. 

She's respectful. 

Slowly and shakily staring at the other third years locking up, you gave a weak chuckle and muttered softly, "uhm, so I'm assuming you're the captain?" 

The moment you shifted your gaze back his spine straightened further and his chest puffed out slightly. Unnoticeable to anyone but himself. You were... Affecting him. 

"Indeed." His eyes drifted across your form. He was never one to really notice omegas despite being an Alpha male himself and having plenty of fangirls, he never really, truly noticed any of them. brief history

grew up in miami, fl. had a large extended family but only had her father in the home.

as a child, she was known for having a huge imagination. her dreams and daydreams were extremely vivid, and she often had a hard time separating them from reality. this caused the people around her to think she was super imaginative or even a liar at times.

elena got claimed at the age of twelve, a couple weeks after her illusions started being able to be seen by others. those were a strange couple of weeks, as she had no idea why or how people were starting to vaguely notice some of her daydreams as well. she was in the living room with her father, trying to show him some of her illusions, when iris appeared in the midst. elena was mesmerized and could hardly contain her excitement ( and confusion ) during this meeting.

after that, she attended camps every summer. she loved the fact that she could develop her powers without feeling like a freak or worrying for anyone’s safety, but she always missed home too much to try staying year-round.

her father tried to raise her as “normally” as possible, so she had a fairly basic teenaged experience despite everything. however, as her abilities became stronger, she realized it’d be safest for her and those around her if she continued her education at eonia.

personality

head in the clouds seems to be a phrase that perfectly describes elena, as her constant immersion in self-made illusions often contributes to a dream-like state. absent-minded and off-beat, she can seem a little clueless, which is one reason many mortals back home were shocked when they found out she had gotten into eonia university. another notable trait of elena’s is her optimism and faith in others, which often leads to naivety and allows her to be easily manipulated and taken advantage of. she is also pretty sociable and playful, often rambling about the things that excite her and offering her unwarranted opinions to whoever is nearby. despite her flaws, she is very sweet and has a genuine love and concern for others, often ready to look out for her loved ones.

abilities

virtuakinesis was the first power that elena started to develop. it started off as incredibly vivid dreams/daydreams until it reached the point where others could see them as well. growing up as an only child, she spent countless hours just playing around this power. this is her strongest power, and she is currently learning mist control. soon came photokinesis and rainbow manipulation, which started presenting themselves around the same time. while these powers aren’t as strong as her virtuakinesis and require much more concentration, she is still fairly decent at them. finally, she has slightly enhanced speed, but this is often overshadowed by her natural clumsiness. while many of these skills were naturally developed through her genuinely enjoying her powers, it wasn’t until middle school that she started attending demigod summer camps to further develop her skills.

summer nights (g-rated): childhood camp crush/best friend. they met at camp one summer and immediately bonded. all good things must end, especially when it comes to middle school relationships, so they amicably parted ways at the end of the summer and lost touch.

hopelessly devoted to you / tears on my pillow: ex relationship. elena still isn't over this relationship. although they break her heart time and time again, she is still willing to do anything for them.

look at me, i'm sandra dee: frenemies. this person is the rizzo to elena's sandy, the jade to elena's tory. elena and this person are practically opposites. although elena may try to settle their differences and befriend this person from time to time, she usually ends up annoying them instead.

it's raining on prom night: this person found elena during a sad moment, and now elena always vents to and confides in this person, whether they want her to or not.

alone at a drive in: elena broke up with them or maybe hooked up with them at a party, but unlike them, she isn't interested in anything further.

those magic changes: they're just friends, but elena started seeing them in a new light after a special moment, which they seem to be oblivious to.

hound dog: to most people, elena is a sweet, semi-innocent girl, but not to this person. elena royally screwed this person over by hooking up with their significant other, so now their relationship is pretty rocky.

we go together: this is elena's person, her best friend. they could've met before eonia or became fast friends during freshman year, but now they're practically joined at the hip.

Emma Ruth Rundle: Fever Dreams in the Season of the Witch // KEXP

“I don’t think anything I’m doing is witchy at all,” says Emma Ruth Rundle.

I’ve just put forward a journalistic hypothesis linking her, Marissa Nadler, Zola Jesus, and Chelsea Wolfe as self-contained women making uncompromising art steeped in haunted melodrama. It’s an oversimplification, but Rundle is too kind to brush off my conjecture completely. “Marissa is a friend and Chelsea is, too. Zola Jesus, I’ve never met, but we’re playing a festival together in a few weeks.” 

With tarot tapestries and books like Basic Witches for sale in Urban Outfitters everywhere, we’re witnessing a mainstreaming of the occult. Trend or not, Rundle doesn’t mind being connected to arcane female power. “It’s good company,” she allows. “It’s a unique moment, a little scene if you will. I’m happy to be associated with such lovely ladies.”

Good company is something Emma Ruth Rundle knows a lot about. Since 2008, she’s released records with the Nocturnes, Red Sparowes, and Marriages. It's her solo albums, however, where Rundle’s impassioned vocals and swirling guitars have coalesced into a sonic thumbprint. On Dark Horses (out now via Sargent House) is a career highlight — an album that marries a hazy, soft-focus mood to the artist’s most fully-realized songcraft to date.

Rundle is speaking to me via Skype from Berlin, tonight’s stop on an extensive European jaunt. She’s on the road with her husband Evan Patterson’s experimental Americana act Jaye Jayle, two members of which play in Rundle’s own live band. Her relationship with Patterson grew out of such travel. “We did a split release (2017’s The Time Between Us [Sargent House]) which was a foretelling of what was to come,” Rundle explains. “Touring that record, we fell in love and now we’re married.”

“A life spent in pieces,” she sings on album opener “Fever Dreams.” The title is a fitting metaphor for On Dark Horses’ shadowy sound. It also hints at a fractured personal history. “It’s pretty literal,” Rundle confirms. “My sister and I came from some abuse as children and a household that included drug problems, physical abuse, and mental health issues that have been genetically passed on.”

Flanged cymbals, hypnotic rhythms, plenty of reverb — descriptors like neo-psychedelia and shoegaze are easy to bat around when discussing the new record. Rundle agrees. “The album as a whole has a quality that definitely references shoegaze.” There’s also powerful ensemble playing and she’s quick to credit Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Young Widows) for helping to achieve both the sound and performances. “We tracked as a group,” Rundle says. “That contributed to the cohesiveness of the album and Kevin’s production added that sort of softness to it.”

Central to the record are those distinctive guitar lines and beguiling vocals, leading to the question of whether she writes more as a singer or instrumentalist. For Rundle, it’s a combination.

“The roles are pretty interwoven,” she says. “I start all my songs on acoustic. From there, vocal melodies present themselves. I write all the lyrics and transfer it over to electric where I work with the band.” Still, even after completing a record, the songs continue to evolve. “Live, I’m noticing that the music is a bit heavier than it is on the record.”

Indeed, the heavy music community has always embraced Rundle as part of what she jokingly refers to as the “trifecta of Chelsea Wolfe, Marissa Nadler, and I.” She’s appeared at Northwest Terrorfest and supported King Buzzo of the Melvins. Perhaps its the elemental nature of Rundle’s music speaks to fans of that genre. “There’s a simple line that comes from playing in Red Sparowes — a post-rock band — to Marriages where we opened for Deafheaven. While my music may not be metal, I listen to a lot of it and feel comfortable in that world.”

It’s not all Rundle listens to, but the dark stuff bubbles to the top. She describes PJ Harvey and Tori Amos as being “like gods” during her formative years. “I’m also into Chris Whitley, the singer/songwriter,” she says. “His whole story and everything about that person is inspiring and fascinating. I’m kind of obsessed with him.”

Horses are another recent obsession — even Rundle’s new paintings are equestrian-themed. And then there’s the album title itself. “I wrote 'Darkhorse' for my sister,” she says. “It’s about overcoming childhood stuff, surviving and thriving despite circumstances that may have led us down a different path.” The concept flowered from there. “It was a metaphor that became a mythological character which came to life and I fixated on.”

A sense of wonder about the natural world permeates the lyrics as well. “We outshine the sun, we out-rise the moon,” she and Evan sing on “Light Song.” At first blush, the track sounds like it’s about rebirth while alluding to the pair’s romantic connection.

“There are parts taken from traditional folk wedding songs — some of the baptismal stuff about getting in the water,” explains Rundle. “It’s this blissful love song that’s ended up referencing and representing our relationship.”

A longtime Los Angeles resident, Rundle now lives with Patterson in his hometown of Louisville, KY, where they recorded On Dark Horses. The new setting suits her. “Louisville is affordable and we have a great quality of life. I couldn’t tour this much or be this productive as a visual artist and musician in LA. I’d be working two jobs.”

Directed by Louisvillian Danielle Elise Bartley, the video for “Light Song” paints their existence in dreamy hues. Rundle reveals one personal detail. “We got to borrow Evan’s Dad’s classic car which I thought was pretty cute.”

The clip and its idealized Southern Gothic atmosphere bring me back to my original line of questioning. Seeking a fresh angle, I mention that this article is set to run October 31st and inquire about Rundle’s own spooky traditions.

“I love Halloween and that subtle change in the air, the thinning of the veil between worlds,” she admits. “While my music may not be witchy, I’m definitely down with the creepy stuff.”

Zoe couldn't believe she was doing this. She only ever skipped school for silly things, like she didn't feel like going or she wanted to stay home to hang out with someone her mother wouldn't approve of. But now she was skipping school after actually going. As the bell rang for lunch right at 12 o'clock the brunette headed to her locker, quickly packing up her things and slinging her bag over her shoulder. Slamming the locker door shut, Zoe headed outside her heels clicking against the tile floor with every step she took. It was true what they said; with every click of your heel you feel power of some kind. Though her nerves were getting the best of her she couldn't help but be excited as the cool end of winter air hit her face, and she finally got to her car. As Zoe climbed inside waiting for Esme, she only hoped her father would see her at his office.

Esme was running a bit late because she had to finish the last of her notes but once done she quickly packed up fr the day and then moved to exit the building. She was hoping she wasn't terribly late as she ran up to the car and smiledat Zoe. "Sorry I needed to finish my ap chem notes," she huffed softly. "I'm ready when you are, are you sure you want to dirve? I don't mind driving if you would rather me do so."

Zoe knew that Esme had harder classes then most being an advanced student so when the raven haired girl didn't show right away she didn't worry. Knowing that they had the same lunch periods she figured the other would be along in just a moment. And, she wasn't wrong as she saw the passenger side door open, and Esme shoot her a smile. "I think I need to drive," she admitted softly as she bit her lip. "If I don't have something to distract myself I'll chicken out." she never usually admitted things like that but for once she couldn't help it. "I just hope he sees me." she muttered to herself as she did up her seatbelt and started the car.

Esme buckled up and nodded at Zoe's reply to her offer. She could understand that but it had been why she offered so a smile graced her face. "That's why I offered, so you couldn't chicken out and not go to his work or house or wherever he is right now," she admitted softly. "But I get it and remember I'm here for you and if he doesn't see you I will make a fuss so he'll see you just to shut your crazy friend up," she giggled, teasing softly.

Zoe finally pulled from the spot she was parked in and headed away from the school. She wasn't worried about getting in trouble, the only thing on her mind was her dad. "I can do this, the worst he can say is no and then I'm in the closet until graduation." she nervously laughed before chewing at her lip. "I don't even know where he lives, so I hope he's at his work," she sighed softly. as she began to drive to downtown Toronto. With her father being a lawyer, she knew he may be busy with a case but, she also knew she had to try for her own sanity.

Esme "Exactly the worst he can say is no though you shouldn't have to be in the closet though," she said softly, sad that that was an option for Zoe. "Well if he's not there we can find out some way I'm sure of it," esme said with a gentle smile. "What does your father do? I don't think we ever got around to talking about any of this stuff."

Zoe: "Well, I can't be out around my mom. There's always emancipation but, I'd have to get a job and I have no experience. It's just a lot of work I've looked into it." Zoe admitted, looking over at the raven haired girl for a moment. "Oh, I guess we haven't. I don't usually talk about my personal life with you guys." She shrugged her shoulders, not seeing much of a problem with it; she'd always been a private person when it came to her parents. "He's a Lawyer, one of the best. My mom is the one who makes the most though. She's a talent agent. Most of our money comes from my grandparents though, their money became ours when they passed away."

Esme "there's always living with someone else, not in the pool house mind you," Esme added softly as she watched out the window. She listened intently to Zoe, understanding why she didn't speak about it, esme wasn't open about her father so she understood. "Ah I see well I'll try not to act too crazy if I have too," she nodded. "Well you're dad sounds like he has a brain so hopefully she does what's best for you."

Zoe "Yeah, KC offered a while ago with how things are going I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I came to stay until I figured something out." she smiled softly as she thought of the boy. "So, I never told you but last night Clare and I decided to just ignore things.. it'll go away eventually, we weren't even friends in the first place. I'm sure this is just something silly that'll disappear." she muttered, almost trying to convince herself even though she knew that she'd liked the girl since the summer they kissed, even if it took her long to figure it out.

Esme "Well good because you shouldn't live in the closet at home, " she stated. Hearing Zoe she frowned and looked at her but didn't say anything just nodded. Esme didn't think it was that simple, that it would just go away like that but it wasn't her so she wasn't going to say much because she didn't want her friend anymore upset than she was.

Zoe "I know it sounds crazy, but everyone will hate me if anything happens with her. She did say I could keep the necklace though." Reaching into the collar of her top, the brunette tugged out the key necklace figuring that Esme wouldn't make fun of her for wearing it. "Isn't it pretty?" she commented softly, as she glanced down at it. With traffic being bad she hadn't expected to get there so fast but, pretty soon she pulled up to her fathers building, with only a twenty minute drive under her belt. Taking a breath she finally glanced over at her friend, acknowledging her for the second time that car ride, "Do you want to come in, or wait here?"

Esme "If that's what you want. Well that's nice of her," she replied and looked at the necklace. "It is pretty," she nodded. Once they were pulled up to a building and parked Esme moved to get out. "I'm going iwth you I'm not waiting in the car," she stated. Esme wasn't about to let Zoe do this alone, she wanted to support her friend and that's what she felt like she was doing.

Zoe "It is, it's what's best," Zoe figured that Luke would judge her considering what Clare had said about what he'd said to his own cousin. She couldn't help but think Tori and Miles would find it a little weird as well, she herself didn't even know what she felt. Not at all, all she knew was that she liked the girl but, had no clue past that. Climbing out of the car as well, the brunette tossed her keys in her purse, sighing softly. She felt a little sick but, she knew if she didn't do this she'd be miserable. "Thanks, Es." she breathed out, forcing a smile as she walked around the car to meet her friend on the other side. "I guess we should get this over with then."

Esme gave Zoe a smile and waited for her once out of the car. She didn't want to talk about how she felt she had been treated by people because of her threesome with Luke and Tori during the ski trip, no one needed to relive that. "You're welcome and yes," she smiled and moved to link their arms and head for the door. "It'll be okay deep breaths okay?"

Zoe stood outside the buildings main entrance for a moment, nodding when Esme told her to just take a deep breathe. Doing just that, she kept their arms linked before pulling open the door and heading inside. Walking toward the elevator the brunette gave Esme a nervous smile. "I don't even know what I'm supposed to say. Do I come out first? Or do you think he already knows 100%?" she questioned as the doors of the elevator opened and she stepped inside.

Esme walked with Zoe towards the elevator and thought for a moment. "I don't know if he'd know for sure so I'd tell him then explain the situation," she said as she moved inside of the elevator. "he might have had an idea but I don't know if he'd know for sure until you told him then again some parents are a bit oblivious towards their children so it's safer to just tell him in my opinion."

Zoe pressed the button for floor five, swallowing as the doors closed and the machine began moving upwards. "You're right." she breathed softly again, glad that Esme was there with her as the elevator stopped on the floor. Untangling their arms she stepped out swallowing hard. "I can do this." she insisted to herself before heading toward the front desk and requesting her father right away. It wasn't until a few moments later when Joel Rivas, stepped from his office, and Zoe rushed toward him a grin on her face. "Dad!" she exclaimed, happily as he pulled her in to a hug. "This is my friend Esme.. I really need to talk to you." the words came rushing out and her father laughed, before ushering the two girls into his office after giving Esme a smile.

Esme "Of course I am," Esme smirked. "and yes you can." Esme waited and once on the floor she made sure she looked presentable just in case Zoe's father knew her own and somehow knew her, she hoped to god not but Esme couldn't be sure considering that her father was the Minister of Health. Stepping out she moved to the side to wait and when she saw Zoe's father she just smiled and waived once she met the man. Walking into the office Esme took a seat so that she would be out of the way but ready in case she was needed.

Zoe stepping into the room, Zoe watched her father close the door as she sat down. Waiting until he did to she fidgeted slightly, not saying a word until she asked what he could do for his daughter. "I'm..gay. Bisexual, I mean. " she blurted out the words, closing her eyes as she did. After her mothers reaction to seeing the video she wasn't expecting a good one but, when her father laughed she gave him a quizzical look as she opened brown orbs. 'Honey, I know that. ' his words hit her ears and she relaxed slightly at the calmness in his voice before continuing. "And.. I need to come live with you. I /can't/ live with mom anymore. I just can't. She's making me go to a program at the church, and I can't be who I am at school in fear she'll find out. Dad, please." she practically begged, her eyes filling with tears as she looked at Esme well he sat in thought.

Esme listened intently and looked at the older male and Zoe when he replied she smiled softly. Zoe's father seemed to actually care about his daughter and it was something the girl envied but wasn't about to just ocme out and say. Now she had ot wait for the actual answer from the older man and she wanted to say something but didn't know if she should

Esme: *she should so she sat there and moved to hug Zoe when she looked at her with tears in her eyes. "Youre going to be okay, okay? He knows and that's what matters," she whispered as she hugged the girl. "You're going to be okay okay?"

Zoe almost felt her tears escape as she felt Esme hug her. This affection wasn't what she was used of, but all she could do was nod clinging to the girl in return. Silently she glanced up at her father who nodded his head, 'I'd love to have you come live with me, Zo. I'll have to talk to your mother but, I don't see why we can't move you over tonight.' Detangling herself from the other girl Zoe laughed in relief, a bright grin on her face. "Oh thank God.."

Esme held Zoe as they waited and moved to wipe the girls eyes. She didn't want the other to have mascara running or anything because she knew that if it were her she wouldn't want to have everyone asking questions. Hearing him she let out a sigh of relief. "Thank god," she echoed. "I can help if you want I don't have any plans," she offered to Zoe.

Zoe got up the hug her father, and as she did she gave Esme a grateful smile. Everything seemed to be working out, and that she was thankful for. "I'd love that." Zoe replied as she pulled away from her father who took her phone to put his new number into. 'You girls really should get back to school though. I know Landon wouldn't like you skipping and I don't really either Zoe.' He pointed out and the girl blushed red, rolling her eyes. "Fine, dad. I'll see you at moms tonight." Taking her phone back from her father she wiped her eyes once more before heading from the office. Once outside she turned to Esme. "So, whose Landon?" She questioned, raising an eyebrow.

Esme "then it's done," Esme smile, at the mention of her father not liking her skipping she rolled her eyes. "Thanks Mr. Rivas but I don't think he cares what I do as long as I keep it under the radar," she said softly. Her relationship with her father wasn't too good, in fact she couldn't remember the last she'd spoken to or seen him. Once the walked out of the office Esme looked at Zoe and shrugged. "My father, Landon Song, Minister of Health. Don't worry he doesn't care what I do as long as I'm not making waves and ruining his reputation."

Zoe couldn't wipe the smile off her face. She really loved her dad and was always a lot closer to him than she was her mom. To say that she was excited to live with him was an understatement, but as she listened to her friend speak she couldn't help but frown at her words. "Well, you're welcome at my house anytime.. my dad isn't home much and he travels sometimes but, he's usually around for dinner or something," shrugging Zoe headed back toward the elevator, sighing in relief as she waited. "Do you want me to drive you home or what?" She wondered before climbing in the elevator again.

Esme "thank Zo but he doesn't live with me and my mom he has a new family and a new daughter that just turned five, it's just me and my mom at home," she shrugged and looked at the other girl. "Well my cars at school," she said as she walked into the elevator. "What were you going to do?" Esme was happy that Zoe's dad was letting her move in it made her feel better. "Now you can be yourself I'm glad you're dad is how he is."

Zoe "Oh, I can sneak you back there if you want to grab it?" the girl offered softly, not commenting on what Esme said about her family, she didn't want to make a big deal so instead she just squeezed the girls hand softly before letting it go. Again, she shrugged. "I might go home and take a nap." She admitted, smiling again. "Yeah, I can."

Esme "that would be great," she smiled at her friend. Glad that Zoe didn't ask more about her father. "That sounds like a good plan I'll probably get food then head home too. You won't tell everyone who my dad is will you? I don't...want to make a big deal out of it."

Zoe headed back outside, feeling lighter than she had in weeks. The question Esme asked her, kind of shocked her. It would give her leverage over the girl but, for some reason she didn't want to use it against her, not now. Not knowing that the raven haired girl had family problems too. "I don't know why I'd tell anyone. As long as you don't tell anyone about me, I'm not ready to come out to the whole school yet." She admitted, as she climbed in the car and started it to drive back to school.

Esme waited for Zoe's reply and hoped that the girl wouldn't use this information against her. "I promise, no one will hear it from me," she replied honestly. "Thank you," she added. "I'm glad your father is letting you move in you don't need to deal with your mother's stupid program or being in the closet at home. I'm proud of you, Zo."

Zoe nodded her head. She did up her seat belt before pulling from her space and heading back in the direction of Degrassi. "It's kind of weird being out to one of my parents and having him support me but, it feels really good too." she blushed, before shrugging. "I couldn't do it without you," she admitted when stopped at a stop light. She didn't know if she even would've went if Esme wouldn't have come with her. "Everyone's right. I've been whiny and not myself lately, I just hope this can help me get back to who I am." Zoe began to drive again, keeping the smile on her face. She was glad that she had Esme and the friends she did now. She couldn't imagine being a princess and she was sure that she would've gotten kicked out of the group if she still was and this ever came to light.

Esme looked out the window as Zoe drove back towards the school and listened to her. "I'm glad he does though. It's better than you mom trying to force you to be who she wants." She frowned and tilted her head listened to the girl, she didn't think that. "Were all allowed to have times when we aren't ourselves but we grow and become the people we're meant to be," she smiled.

Zoe nodded in agreement, staying quiet for a moment. "It really is," she agreed softly. The drive to school was quick and luckily no one was out front as she circled back into the parking lot. Seeing Esmes car, she drove in to the spot next to it to drop the girl off. "Seriously, thank you for coming. I'll text you when I need help moving my stuff. Probably tomorrow, tonight I'll probably just sleep there on the couch. The day is half over anyway." She leaned over to give Esme a small hug, though she didn't usually do that before pulling back.

Esme was glad to see the parking lot empty of people and was glad there Was a free spot next to her car. "You're welcome. I'm just glad you get to go live with him," she smile and hugged the girl back. "Okay I'm cool with whenever," she smiled. She savored the hug before moving to get out and into her car.

Zoe waved before waiting as Esme got into her car. Once making sure the girl was safe and neither one of them would be caught by Simpson, she pulled out of the parking lot and headed home-- or back to her moms house for the last few hours that she'd be living there. All she could do was be glad this whole ordeal was over for the most part, and that she didn't have to worry about anything else until she was ready.
