Unofficial Games (Pt.3)

[Alpha Ushijima x Omega reader]

Thank all of you for your support on this series! I know it's been so long since I've posted anything to do with it, but here is part THREE!! FINALLY! But don't worry! I'm already planning for part 4 heheh. So hopefully part four won't take nearly as long! Unfortunately there is no wakatoshi interaction with omega chan yet, but heyyyy it's all a b o u t t h e p i n i n g!! IN ALL SERIOUSNESS the rest of the story has a loose plan around it and hopefully I will finish part four much sooner :)

This part had to be written to further the story, as otherwise it may feel too rushed, but if I pushed anything else into this chapter it would've taken even longer to get done, and I just couldn't wait to finally give this to all of y'all! Guess which character is returning? Hmmmmm? Anyway, I'm planning on putting this story on AO3 that way all parts can be read without too much blog searching haha. I will be editing part one a little to turn it into a better reading format for ao3. Anywho enjoy ❤️❤️❤️❤️

It had been a whole week. One whole week you had done you best to avoid anything and anyone that could even be remotely involved with volleyball.

You avoided all coaches and sports students, especially the students. The girls who worshipped any and all jocks were also on the long list of those to avoid. There were also the cheerleaders and even the horse fields. You came to class exactly on time, keeping others from approaching you; and you packed your bag as soon as the teacher shut his book. All lunches were spent in hiding and you ran for your dorm as soon as the bell rang.

So far all your efforts appeared to be working.

You were glad for that, you insisted to your unimpressed omega, as you had every right to be.

His desire to court you didn't go completely unappreciated, you were at least flattered. However you had your studies and club activities to focus on, so you had no time to bend yourself out of shape to please an alpha you barely knew. Your omega vehemently disagreed and you wanted to smack yourself for acting so submissive and accepting of his rather rude offer. You should have just told him to drop the subject.

Despite his seemingly unmovable desires, you felt as though he would have respected your wish.

But of course you hadn't said anything, you had relied on instincts and depended on submission to get you through it. As you did for most of your problems.

However, the road one treks the most will soon be the only road one can take without struggling.

He knew which dorm you were in. Thankfully it appeared as though his matches and practice were keeping him busy, so you had luck in that regard. Hopefully it would stay that way and you wouldn't have to actually see him face to face again.

How foolish you were.

How completely naive to think an alpha like Ushijima Wakatoshi would simply let you hide.

He had practically ordered you to do something and you had directly disobeyed. He may have been busy that week but if he desired he could have gone over to your dorm.

He chose not to.

Mostly due to his schedule... and alphas who were rutting usually were barred from entering the buildings that omegas dorms were in. Of course there was also the fact that once he'd come out of his rut he'd had to face a crowd of furious people, one of which was the coach. He was apparently in trouble for fighting on school property, though they seemed understanding enough once he explained; they restricted the time allotted for practice, though normally students caught fighting would be suspended, he himself received only a warning.

So even if he had tried he wouldn't have made any leeway.

All that week however he was repeatedly scolded by everyone for coming on too strong and scaring away the only omega that had stuck around. Tendou appeared especially pissed, he seemed understanding enough, but in his own words-

"Did ya really need to break the blondies arm? Like- I get it, you've got those 'temperamental alpha issues' but seriously? That's a little extreme my man, especially from you!"

"I only broke his wrist." Ushijima replied, raising a brow at the red heads' words.

"Like that's any different! Really of all people, you seemed to have the most control of your alpha, and the first years have the nerve to call meee unpredictable! At least you'll be the center of the rumors for a while." He muttered while tying up a bag filled with volleyballs.

It was true that Tendou was usually at the center of gossip most days, but it wasn't due to his weird behaviors or even his appearance, instead the majority of the rumors were about his alpha and his scent. He certainly had an unusual scent, and that day when he'd gotten irritated, it had showed. His emotions swung wildly and intensely, was that his alpha's doing? Possibly, though it would not be surprising in the slightest, considering Tendou relied on his alpha for every decision; he claimed that if he didn't rely on his alpha he'd get worse at volleyball, although that could be debated. A lot of first years found pleasure in talking about their resident freakshow, through closed doors of course, no one wanted the volleyball yokai coming after them while they slept.

"She has not come in today?" Ushijima questioned.

Tendou was swift to reply.

"Tch. I wouldn't either. You do realize that crowding a scared omega into some dark alleyway is the worst way to ask them out right?! Especially since you were rutting at that time- if I were her I would've thought the absolute worst case scenario!! I mean think about, Ushiwaka!"

There was a brief pause while they took down the rest of the equipment and locked up.

"It was beside her dorm. It was not a dark alleyway. "

Tendou sighed, pinched the bridge of his nose and dramatically hunched over.

"You could have at least tried to deny it ya know? I mean seriously you probably looked scary as hell! Imagine being a poor defenseless omega, frightened by an alpha who just can't take a hint, only to be cornered by a pre-rut Alpha who demands that you become HIS mate. I'd run for the fucking hills, and probably call the police too." He laughed at the end and stretched his arms above his head.

"Most alphas will claim omegas they deem fit to be their mate as soon as they see an opportunity to do so." That was his calculated reply.

"Man you're basically saying that you should get a sticker for not raping her." Tendou gave him a deadpan look between his arms.

"I would not. I would claim her if she consented. Sex is not needed to claim an omega." Ushijima's brow furrowed the more Tendou laughed at him.

"I know that- ah nevermind. Listen, here is what ya gotta do my bestie! Get her some flowers or something! Omegas love flowers! Oh, and some chocolates and stuffed animals, all the cheesy couples stuff, that's the best way to get omegas to soften up a bit! And, since it's my special lil omega you're trying to court, I'll even add in some personalized recommendations!"

Ushijima stopped in his tracks, an unreadable expression crossing his features in the darkness, only visible due to the light from the pole several feet away.

"Your omega?" His voice was low.

"Eh?" Tendou turned to look back at him in confusion, "oh, whatever, your omega then- if you feel so inclined."

Ushijima huffed and his features returned to normal as he took another step forward, returning to their previous pace.

"I know she really likes art stuff but she's always struggling to carry it around all the time. Maybe a bag or something to help? I dunno, hell maybe even some art stuff, like paint brushes or something would be more interesting to her!" He turned to Ushijima, his grin growing more when he noticed the reason for the other alphas silence.

"Ohoho what do we have here? Heya Blondie! Hows that wrist of yours feelin?" Tendou grinned a little too brightly for the situation spread before him.

The blonde pup, the one who touched you so rudely, and had challenged Ushijima, stood before them.

For a moment he said nothing, looking off to the side instead of facing the duo's wrath.

"I… I wanted to apologize." He bent forwards, bowing at a ninety degree angle and pressing his lips together.

"Well it took ya long enough!"

The coach hadn't actually allowed the blonde to ditch volleyball, as he was an absolute menace on court and was known to use such sloppy techniques no one could correctly defend against him. Using him was a bit like using a secret wild card and though he was only a first year, he had enough potential to ensure he was kept on the team.

Ushijima's eyes narrowed in suspicion. He had to listen to the coach's orders, no matter how much he disagreed with them.

"Why are you here?" Ushijima asked the pup, although it sounded more like a statement.

"I- I wanted to apologize for my behaviour! It was wrong, I didn't realize she was your mate, and I wanted to apologize to her again for making her uncomfortable." He remained in his bowing position, putting himself at their mercy. "And, I wanted to ask to start over- and, and I won't cause any more trouble for you, captain!"

Ushijima's only response was a bland 'I see.'.

But thankfully Tendou was there to ease the tension. "Don't think ya don't gotta prove yourself though, kiddie. Haha, I mean ya did create quite a problem and I can't say everyone is gonna be willing to accept you now that you've made such a bad impression."

"Y-yes sir, I'm- I'm aware!"

"Ohohooo, yes sir?? I could get used to that, whaddya think about that eh, Ushiwaka?"

Ushijima was still analyzing the pup silently.

"U-shi-wak-ah?? Ya just gonna stare all day er what?"

He hummed, seemingly finding what he was looking for, and stepped forward to the blonde. He slowly raised his hand and offered it to the pup.

"My name is Ushijima Wakatoshi. I will be your captain."

The blonde looked teary eyed as he accepted the handshake, and was quick to straighten his shoulders and introduce himself. "My na-name is Kai Kaminari. I- uh, I want to become the Ace one day!"

Ushijima nodded, releasing Kai's hand and told him that in order to become the Ace, he would need to practice harder than ever before.

"I know, sir. Is- uh, is the omega still there? Or with you? Because, I wanted to apologise to her as well… But I haven't been able to find her."

Tendou laughed and patted Kai on the shoulder. "Ahah, yeah she's not been to any practices since you challenged our all-purpose Ace here."

Kai eyes widened and his face immediately became upset, "I am so- so sorry for upsetting her that badly-"

"Nah, she would've kept coming, Ushijima is the one who has to apologize to her. I'm assuming you haven't heard that he basically scared her so bad that I'm surprised she didn't transfer to a different school haha!" Tendou was nudging Ushijima in the ribs playfully. "I guess both of you are terrible with omegas." Tendou finished with a laugh.

Kai fiddled with his cast and began offering suggestions to help you feel more comfortable, or even safe enough to come back to the practices, but Tendou just waved him off.

"I've got a plan to get her back here, she just skittish is all, leave it to your favorite miracle boy! Sa-to-ri!" He pointed at himself with his thumbs, earning less than impressed looks from both alphas.

"Seriously though, Ushijima and I got this handled Kai! Why don't you head to your dorm now yeah? Its getting late and you're going to need a lot of energy at practice tomorrow!" Kai's eyes lit up at Tendou's words, and the blonde was quick to say his goodnight's and thank you's before sprinting past them to where his dorm was located.

"I'm surprised you were so passive with him, last time you saw him you were ready to kill the pup!"

"He has to be on the team, and I do not wish to be at odds constantly. Similar to how it is not possible for a herd to survive if they fight amongst themselves. The weakness can be seen by coyotes, and they will separate and devour the weakest in the herd. If the herd never moves as a group, they will all be defeated."

"Yeah that didn't clear anything up, but hey at least the kid can be involved in practice more now. Hopefully that wrist of his won't cause him any problems."

"It's possible it will. If he can no longer play coach will take care of it."

Tendou replied with an 'I guess…' And they continued to walk in silence until they reached their dorms.
