#fix a sith au

Fix-a-Sith AU, my beloved. Does Obi-Wan attend Council meetings with his Sith glaring suspiciously at everyone over his shoulder?
honestly i feel like it's a watershed moment for sith anakin when he attends a council meeting with obi-wan (glowering over obi-wan's shoulder the entire time with Massive Bad Vibes shooting out from all corners of his force signature) and the council is like 'whoa obi-wan, sith in the middle of rehabilitation do NOT attend council meetings??' and obi-wan just shrugs and is like 'oh who is he going to tell? he's temple bound and his comm link is baby sith-proofed.'
and that bugs the hell out of vaderkin for most of the meeting but he can't put his finger on why.....at the end of the meeting, when they're back in their quarters, he's like 'you know i could still contact sidious and tell him everything i just learned. it wouldn't be easy but it wouldn't be extremely difficult. i AM good with technology, you know.'
and obi-wan is like 'oh yes dear, so you've said. i know you're very clever. but you see, what i couldn't say to the council at the time is that i trust you completely to not betray me the way you so easily could.'
and vaderkin bluescreens because trust??? obi-wan trusts him?? his husband?? trusts?? TRUSTS??? he trusts him?? him???
and obi-wan sighs and gives him a very fond only slightly sad smile and he's like 'i know you've been hounding me to fall in love with you, but which one do you think is more damning, darling - to love a sith or to trust one?'

i feel like maul would get into tea because the perfectionism and theatre of good tea making would appeal to his inner neurotic thespian. he would also just enjoy flavors, after knowing food scarcity. a small 6oz cup is probably the right rate of hydration for him post lotho minor, on fuckin repeat all day of course, so i imagine he picked the habit up naturally.

There are two types of Star Wars fix it AUs.
Type A:
What do you mean Dooku turned to the dark side? Maul, a sith lord? No, the Jedi found him before Sidious did. Wait, who's Sidious? Palpatine, a sith? Everybody lives happily ever after
Type B:
Revenge of the Sith never happened.
Palpatine choked on a bagel.
Palpatine died in mysterious speeder accident, some say Quinlan Vos was involved.
Fives and Rex beat up Palpatine.
Palpatine was found dead, Fox has disappeared.
Commander Cody finds out and personally confronts the Chancellor, "the senate will decide your fate" Anakin comes along and helps Cody. (Obi wan is dueling Grievous)
Padme single handedly defeats Palpatine in mortal combat, she becomes chancellor.

pov u are overworked and under(not) paid but at least you’ve still got ur teeth
Accompanying this au where Fox and Fives fake a death, make up a new Corrie, and everyone else in the Guard is kinda unwillingly inducted into unhinged-conspiracy-theory-bro-hood too
The Corries: the chancellor needs to die
The rest of the GAR: loolll ikr haha
The Corries:
The GAR, frantically punching in Coruscant’s coordinates: …LOLLL ikr HA, RIGHT??

I know Palpatine controlled the courts and all that, but I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if Mace Windu had been about 20% less done and ready to go through one more circus to take down the Sith Lord:
Anakin: He must stand trial!
Mace: He has control of the Senate and the courts. He's too dangerous to be left alive!
Palpatine: I'm too weak. Oh, don't kill me. Please!
Anakin: It's not the Jedi way. He must live!
Mace, having just woken up from the most refreshing nap of his life before Anakin barged in to tell him about the Sith Lord, looking at Anakin, who clearly hasn’t slept in three days and is running off caf and stims; looking back at Palpatine (clearly playing some sort of game), apparently confident Anakin will help him.
Mace: Ugh, fine. Cut his hands off, we’ll take him into Jedi custody.
Anakin: …His hands?
Mace: He killed three Council members in like two seconds! Did you not notice the bodies? We can’t afford him trying to escape at full power! It’s his hands or his head, Skywalker!
(Anakin had not, in fact, noticed the bodies.)
Palpatine: Please! I need my hands to save your wife!
Anakin: !!
Mace: ??
Mace: Your- never mind that! What did he promise you?
Anakin: Padme’s dying! I have to save her!
Mace: Amidala? Why isn’t she with the Healers, then??
Anakin, not listening: I’ve been having these terrible visions! She’s going to die in childbirth!
Mace “I don’t have time to unpack all this”: Anakin! Focus! Help me bring the Sith into custody; then we can get Amidala to the Healers, and whatever Dark influence he had over her will be broken!
Palpatine, who hasn’t actually done anything to Padme, just Anakin, but knows exactly how this looks: Shit.
Anakin, who is a good Jedi outside of Palpatine’s influence, wants nothing more than to end the war so he can sort his personal problems out, and whose only hesitation was over Padme: Palpatine = Sith = Dark --> Dark visions?? = OH
Anakin, happily cutting off Palpatine’s hands: Yes, Master! :D
Promptly runs off to go find Padme.
Palpatine: SHIT
Mace, staring after Anakin in exasperation as he’s left alone in a room with a Sith Lord: Well, I made a promise. Come along, Mister Sith, we’ve got some nice padded Force-proof cells for you. Please try to escape so I can kill you before we get there, it’ll make all our lives much easier.

Hi! My favorite is Anakin x Fluffy Reader. I would like Anakin Rots , where he is anxious to meet his girl after a long mission. Something like Ani takes her on a date on another planet , Alderaan or Naboo .
Alpenglow (I've Missed You)
Summary: Anakin comes back from rescuing the Chancellor only to notice that you are stationed on Alderaan and not currently home. Obi-Wan pulled some strings so he could visit you, and in no time Anakin finds you. He decides to set up something nice for the both of you in the mountains, where you witness a beautiful sunset.
Notes: Thank you so much for the request! Reader can be GN, and can be a Jedi or senator or really anything, it's pretty ambiguous. I feel like Alderaan would be super pretty, and the "alpenglow" phenomenon would definitely happen here. Anakin is so soft and loves you so much!! (Warnings: None!)
Tumblr media
You can’t believe how lucky you were to be stationed in Alderaan for the past couple of months, especially during the planets summer cycle.
Coruscant is your home now, yes, but it was rather often that you wished to be outside in the mountains and trees amongst nature. You have every intention of making up for lost time while you are here, but each time you try to embark on a hike to admire the scenery, you feel as though you can’t go on. You don’t want to go just yet, knowing how much more your love would desire to be amongst all the greenery and streams and lush landscapes than you could possibly imagine.
A spike of fear runs through you. Anakin could be another few months on his campaign, and for all you know he could be—
You shake the thought from your head. You remind yourself to be mindful, to focus on the present moment, and count all the different songs of birds that you can hear in the grassy clearing where you sit and meditate.

Anakin is alive and well, you can feel it. You may have to suffer without his warm and enveloping presence for awhile yet, but as long as he was safe and working his way to you, you could bear it.
You settle your heartbeat, taking deeper breaths to the point where you feel as though you are a part of the nature surrounding you—so much so that you don’t notice the footsteps behind you.
“What are you doing all the way out here?” that melodic voice asks sweetly.
Your eyes snap open, and your breath rises in your chest so fast you feel like you might start floating. Turning around, you see your love, your Anakin, standing a bit awkwardly with the afternoon sunlight bathing him in a soft yellow glow.
You scramble to your feet and launch yourself into his arms, and your embrace couldn’t be broken apart by even the strongest of forces. You were together, and the world felt like it made sense again.
“You’re here, you’re here, I can’t believe—” you whisper throughout the embrace, threading a hand in his hair and holding him impossibly closer. “How? Your mission—”
“I returned to Coruscant and you weren’t there,” he mutters against the skin of your forehead. You can still sense the thread of melancholy unraveling from him, but the longer he is here with you, the shorter and fainter the thread becomes. But there is something else—some of his panic remains, and you hear it in his voice. “Rescued the Chancellor, but the Council wanted me to spy on him even though Obi-Wan said ‘no’ and then he was sent away… Bail told me you were stationed here, and I wanted to leave, I needed to leave, everything was suffocating… but then Obi was able to grant me a leave for a week! Can you believe it?”
You pull away from him slightly, and he audibly whines. You keep your hands in his hair, only pulling back far enough to look him in the eyes as you speak to him.
“That’s… a lot. I’m so sorry I wasn’t there for you, I wish I had been… But I suppose I owe Bail and Obi-Wan now for granting my wish they didn’t even know I had.” You giggle, giddy with happiness because he’s here. He is with you, even though you feared the worst. To be honest, some irrational part of you still fears the worst. Your smile wavers, “Are you alright? Were you hurt?”
You caress his face, noting the frown there and wishing you could smooth away the creases with just a swipe of your fingers. He closes his eyes and leans into your touch, and the two of you fall into an embrace once more. It is more gentle than the previous one but is no less intimate.
“I’ve missed you so much,” he whispers, and it comes from the depths of his soul, through the Force, through every fiber in the fabric of reality.
Without you, he would be lost.
“I missed you too, Anakin…” you say, and finally you angle his face down to yours for a chaste kiss. “Even here, where everything is beautiful, I could only think of how much more beautiful it would be with you here, how much you would love it.”
“The green?”
You smile, resting your forehead against his. “Mhm, the green. Your favorite color.”
He lets out a huff of a laugh, cupping your face in his hands. “I love you so much.”
Your smile is bursting at the seams. He’s said it before to you, but there is something about him being here with you in this setting that makes it all more potent. The landscape is stunning, and you feel some sort of longing in your chest become sated as you stand here with Anakin Skywalker in your embrace, protecting you from the galaxy but also giving you the whole galaxy with just those words.
“I love you,” you whisper, your eyes stinging and your vision becomes a bit blurry so you look down at the ground in hopes it would clear away.
Anakin tilts your chin up to look at him, and this movement lets tears leak from your eyes. He catches them with his thumbs. “What is it?”
You feel slightly embarrassed—you’re grown, independent, but being reunited with him is like finding your childhood blanket that you lost forever. You have more faith in Anakin, know that he would survive the war, but the fear of losing him affects you more than you thought.
“I’ve missed you… I worry for you and I am so, so happy you are here with me.”
He grins. “I have something for you. I know how much you love the mountains, so I set something up for us…”
No way. “Stop! You did not—”
He grabs your hand and leads you through the brush until you reach higher ground and another clearing that lies above the treetops so you can see the snow capped mountains all around you, standing tall like they were keeping watch.
It is sunset, and the light bounds from mountain to mountain, bathing the slopes in shades of purple, pink, and orange.
There’s a blanket laid on he ground with a bucket of your favorite snacks from your apartment on Coruscant.
“I was so anxious to see you, and I know how much you love relaxing at home, so I figured I would bring a bit of home to you!” He says, but then he rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. “At least, I think these are your favorite snacks…”
You both sit on the blanket, and you sit in his lap with your back pressed flush against his chest.
You tilt your head up to press a kiss to his jaw. “This is my home. Right here. With you, and looking out at the alpenglow. It’s only so beautiful because you’re so beautiful.”
He smiles again, but scrunches his eyebrows. “‘Alpenglow’? I’ve never heard that before.”
“Well, now you have. You’re looking at it right now.”
You watch his sky blue eyes take in the blend of colors before you, and you savor the awed look on his face that is so innocent, so pure.
“You’re my alpenglow,” he says, flicking his eyes to meet yours. His gaze is electric, and you feel like your heart might burst from your chest once again. You know what he meant by that, and you love his affinity for trying to come up with strange metaphors.
(You’ll never forget the sand one.)
You laugh. “I don’t think that is how you use the word, Anakin.”
“Well it’s how I’m using it. I am a Jedi, I’m always right.”
“Of course, Master Skywalker,” you say, doing your best impression of a Council-member.
He chuckles, then nuzzles his cheek into the crown of your head. He lets out a long exhale, and all the tension from days, weeks, and months past escapes his body. You are together, you are safe, and you are grounded.
You’re home.

Please go into more detail about the Fulcrum Barriss thing.
Oh, anon, I have been waiting for this. You're going to get way more than you wanted.
Basically, my idea for Fulcrum!Barriss came from 2 things: 1, I really don't like Ahsoka in Rebels. She kinda sucks there tbh. One of Rebel's main themes is that of redemption, of finding your way back to the right path and helping, and Ahsoka doesn't really fit. She could fit, if they'd done things different and had her and Kanan have parallel character arcs where they both help each other find the Jedi path again, but instead she's a very flat character that never does anything that interesting. Sure, she's supposedly organizing the Rebellion from the shadows, but the only time she's ever significant in her own right in Rebels is when she's beating people up. She's presented as kind of a perfect Light Side saint kind of thing (think of the Gandalf-looking outfit she has in the endcard, and the exhausting amounts of Morai and Daughter imagery we get with her, without them ever once acknowledging that she was possessed by the Son) which really gives us nothing to go with the whole redemption theme. It's boring. There are some good things--I love most of Twilight of the Apprentice, for example, but it's pretty clear that the whole Vader and Ahsoka thing shouldn't have been in Rebels, since it has almost no connection to the actual main characters and the plot.
The second thing was that I wanted to explore Barriss's character post-Order 66 in a way that is respectful to her actual character while still mostly canon-compliant (Because while I hate the Wrong Jedi Arc for what it did to Barriss and fully believe that it never should have happened, a story following Barriss with everything in the Wrong Jedi staying the same is really interesting) and, well, obviously having Barriss be a rebel makes sense (do not talk to me about Inquisitor!Barriss, I hate it). Barriss also has a ton that she feels she has to atone for with the context of the Wrong Jedi Arc, and, as a young Jedi who did Fall a little bit, she can offer a lot to Ezra as a teacher, like helping him understand why he can't use the Dark Side to stop The Empire.
tl;dr: Ahsoka's boring in Rebels, and she really shouldn't have been there anyway, but Barriss is fascinating post-TCW and, as a former Jedi who was briefly taken in by the Dark Side and betrayed the Order, is pretty damn perfect with the themes of Rebels, and had a very unique perspective that would've been really valuable for Ezra's arc.
Rant over, @antianakin has some very good post on Ahsoka if you want to check that out, on to the next rant!
Barriss works as Fulcrum, too. In The Wrong Jedi (I hate it, but like, I am using Canon here, I know it's terrible and character assassination for the sake of shock value and racism), we see how skilled she can be at subterfuge and lying and hiding in plain sight. She's very good at knowing exactly how to manipulate Ahsoka into making herself look as guilty as possible while keeping herself very innocent-looking. I could definitely see a fully grown Barriss with 15 years of experience using those skills to fight the Empire and direct a rebellion from the shadows.
Narratively, it makes a lot of sense for Barriss to work as a quiet director of rebel activity in the Outer Rim. She isn't a super-powerful Force user that can easily beat a bunch of Inquisitors (I'll talk about my problems with how weak the Inquisitors were later) and hold back Darth Vader. She needs to stay quiet, but she also needs to help, and working with those who have been the most disenfranchised and hurt by the Empire to bring it down serves as a good parallel to the Wrong Jedi Arc, where she was one of the most disenfranchised and hurt by the war (a teenage soldier whose people are dying around her, and no one in power cares) redirecting that in the wrong way, lashing out and hurting people, and now she's helping people react in a positive way and do things right.
Ahsoka, on the other hand (I'm assuming you came from the Fulcrum!Bariss and Inquisitor!Ahsoka post) is honestly a much more interesting character as an Inquisitor than she's really ever been in canon, and honestly, it’s confusingly well foreshadowed for something that never happens. In the Mortis Arc (aka the most symbolic arc of TCW that EXPLICITLY TELLS YOU THE FUTURE OF THE CHARACTERS), Ahsoka is very much associated with the Dark Side. She's kidnapped by the Son, she sees a vision (all of the other characters have visions that are pretty clearly true) of herself in the future, telling her that Anakin will corrupt her if she can't let go of him, and lo and behold, what is the 1 thing that Ahsoka is never able to do? LET GO OF ANAKIN. She is literally possessed by the embodiment of the Dark Side of the Force. 30 years later in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka is still unable to let go of Anakin even after he’s been dead for years, after she faced him and recognised him, after there’s nothing left of the Anakin she knew, she can only see Anakin in Grogu. She is haunted by Anakin, she is attached to Anakin, Anakin defines her. Think of how tragic that would be with Inquisitor Ahsoka, who was forced to the Dark Side, who was manipulated and tortured and abused (tbf TotJ kinda makes it seem that Anakin was already borderline abusive to Ahsoka). Imagine the amount of pain and anger and unresolved trauma in her, all inextricably tied to Anakin, to Vader, to her Master. She loves him in the same horrifying, twisted way that he loves her and that brings them both so much pain, plunging them deeper and deeper into that downward spiral.
And then there’s the relationship the two of them would have with each other--Barriss who fell first, but was given the support she needed to pull herself out (obviously Luminara and the Jedi helped her, come on, there’s no way that if she lived they wouldn’t have helped her and pushed for her to be given back to the Jedi) who was able to find the Light again and use her experiences to help other people and make amends, but especially the fact that Barriss Fell of her own accord. There were other factors, but no one forced Barriss to Fall. The Inquisitors were tortured and mutilated and abused until they became everything they hated, and then they were forced to serve the very people who murdered their people. None of that is voluntary, even if they’ve been manipulated into thinking that it was deserved, or for the best, or made them stronger. A Fallen Ahsoka confronting a redeemed Barriss, a horrible mirror image of what happened to them in the Wrong Jedi Arc so long ago. That’s powerful and painful and it works, it fits with the themes of Rebels really well, and it doesn’t mess with the power scaling the way Vader does.
Now allow me to elaborate on this au. So, Order 66 happens, and Barriss is in Republic prison, one that’s probably guarded and maintained by clones (she wouldn’t be an immediate target, ‘cause she’s not a Jedi, and she’s probably wanted for the Inquisitorius anyway). At this point, Ahsoka has separated from Rex and only knows of one Jedi in the entire galaxy that’s probably still alive--Barriss, who she knows won’t be an immediate target, Barriss, who, despite everything, is still her friend. Barriss who will die soon. Ahsoka goes back to Coruscant and breaks Barriss out of prison.
Except the Empire knew that someone would come for her, and after Jesse never reported back, they knew Ahsoka was out there. Barriss manages to escape, but Ahsoka doesn’t. (This is, like, the angstiest possible version of this au, I could also do a version where Barriss just escapes, but I like pain, so.) Barriss thinks they’d kill her—the Inquisitorius program won’t become official for months yet, not until the last of her people have been tortured into everything she once thought the Jedi had become—so she makes sure Ahsoka’s sacrifice isn’t in vain, and she runs. She hides out in the Outer Rim, and she makes Ahsoka proud.
She sees the pain and suffering and misery caused by the war and the Empire, and she is a Jedi. She cannot help what she is. She builds a rebellion, piece by piece and step by step, hidden in the shadows, agonizingly crawling towards something better. She wakes up every day, and she fights, building networks of people and information and hope. She fights to restore the Republic that failed her, and the Order she failed, and she hopes that one day it will be enough. Enough to finally be redeemed, enough to go to trial once more and face punishment for her crimes. (Death. It was always going to be death, but the Jedi managed to postpone her trial until after the war, but the war never ended. The war was to destroy the Republic, and she refuses to stop fighting for civilization. She hears about Ahsoka, eventually, and she sees it as just one more sin she must carry.)
And then she meets Ezra. He is young, and scared, and angry, but he is bright in the Force and he wants to become a Jedi more than anything. She has stayed in the shadows for so long, but this young, brilliant boy and his Master, a fellow Padawan that she remembers from so long ago, they need her, and she goes. She brings everything she has, all to save these last Jedi and being the galaxy some hope. They burn a Star Destroyer, and broadcast a message of hope. It’s finally coming together.
She teaches Ezra what she can, and she and Kanan cling to each other. They hadn’t thought there was anyone else left, all 10,000 lights snuffed out by Order 66 or the Inquisitorius save for them. They meditate and train and try to find their way back to the Jedi path, for the child they’re trying so hard to save.
Eventually, the Empire comes for them. Inquisitor Ahsoka Tano, Grand Inquisitor of the Imperial Order of the Inquisitorius (I had a lot of fun figuring out how many times I could fit Inquisitor in there), second only to Darth Vader, finds them on Malachor. She brings a bunch of other Inquisitors with her (and they’re actually, like threatening bad guys this time, come on) and they have a big fight (idk if I want to keep Maul here, bc well I do like him in Rebels, he's just another example of Filoni forcing in legacy characters where they don't fit) in, like, the middle of the episode Barriss and Ahsoka have a really really angsty 1v1 duel (everyone else is trying to fight normally while ignoring the bitter exes biting each other's heads off in the background). Darth Vader does not show up.
I haven't thought much past Season 2, to be honest, but I do have some vague ideas:
Kallus (who actually has a redemption arc, not 1 episode where they retcon everything about him) definitely has a very strained relationship with the Inquisitors bc he’s several gallons deep in the Empire-propaganda koolaid and he doesn’t trust force sensitives, he thinks that they take jobs away from the ISB, who could do the much better, and, while he’ll never admit it, he does have a moral compass and feels like sending highly trained super-evil Force wizards that can bring down entire buildings with their minds is a bit much for a teenage boy
For seasons 3 and 4 I’d want to do something with the Zare Leonis/Project Harvester plot they set up in season 1 and then like. Never mentioned again outside of a niche book series. Smth about what the Empire actually does to force-sensitive kids
No Thrawn. Fucking hate Thrawn in Rebels bc he is yet another example of Felony jamming in cameo characters where they don’t belong. Why was Thrawn, fucking Grand Admiral of the Empire, the guy that (in Legends bc he wasn’t in canon pre-Rebels) nearly manages to bring back the Empire and destroy the New Republic basically by himself, in the show about a small group of misfit rebels desperately trying to build the early Rebellion? Thrawn managed to nearly bring down the Rebellion at its peak, when it had already destroyed the damn Empire! (For that matter, why is Tarkin in Rebels? Why is Vader in Rebels? Why is Emperor goddamn Palpatine. in. Rebels??? There is a thing called power scaling, felony, and it is very important!)
Instead of Thrawn being the main villain of seasons 3-4 of Rebels, I’d have Inquisitor Ahsoka be the main villain of season 3 and her redemption arc would be parallel with Kallus’s (bc he actually has one here) and they’d both get out of the Empire in the Season 3 finale. The villain of Season 4 would be Pryce, and the focus would be on her and the Empire’s greed destroying Lothal, which I think would go really well with the Zare storyline of Project Harvester that I mentioned above. The show would end about the same as it does in canon, though idk exactly how Ezra would get into the Unknown Regions without Thrawn.
So this has turned from Fulcrum Barriss into a full on rewrite of everything I didn’t like about Rebels, huh? Sorry anon, I warned you.

had a vague fic idea.
Set kinda near the end of the clone wars but not like the End End. Obi-wan n Anakin get sent out to poke around a sith ruin, and obi wan touches the sith artefact thats there. He gets transported to a universe where non of the bad shit in his life happened. (essentially)
Xanatos never fell, so qui-gon actually picked him b4 he aged out. On melida/daan, qui-gon left temporarily to make sure tahl got the help she needed but then hurried right back n helped the Young w obi wan. Jaster didnt die at Korda 6. Galidraan wasnt a clusterfuck. Mandalore is actually united. Dooku never fell. Qui gon never dies. The war never started. etc etc. Everything is happy and warm and so so Light.
its everything he's ever wanted, sitting right there in front of him. Its peaceful, and lovely, and nothing hurts, and its all alright. everyone there is above all else, Content. But this universe's people Are Not His. they may be friendly, and welcoming, and so Kind. but these arent the people hes fought beside and lived with and truly Known. No Matter How Much He Wants Them To Be, these arent really his friends, his family. He sees this version of himself, and the differences are striking.
This Obi Wan can actually sleep through the night. This Obi Wan doesnt have issues with food, or trust, or feeling adequate. This Obi Wan actually goes to therapy.
And heres the worst part of that tricky little artefact that started it all. You can return to your original universe. You can do so easily. All you have to do. Is Consciously Decide To Turn Away From Everything You've Ever Wanted.
It works a little different for everyone. some see universes where a particular person is the only thing different, some see radically different times and places. It just depends. Obi Wan? All he really wants is Peace. Peace and for those hes loved to be there with him.
And he does. He turns away from it all, after the few weeks it took to figure it out. He knows he has to go back. And then he is. Just a few moments after the initial disappearance. With Anakin and Cody and Rex all in the room. The immediate, overwhelming difference in the force is Startling. seeing exactly how much Darker everything feels.
and whats the difference between these two universes? what happened to make it all So different?
Palpatine just dropped dead right after he killed plagueis. just right then and there. Heart Attack? Stroke? Will of the Force? you decide.
But this has a happy ending!! Obi wan knows its palps, they fuckin get him, they find the chips, they make peace, and obi wan goes to therapy<3

Sometimes Fox preferred when Palpatine used the chip, when he used his Sith magic, because this was worse. There was no magic involved in Fox's choices here, just crushing terror. It would be easier if there was. Fox knew the choice he had to make though. Being alone was a small price to pay to keep his batchmates safe.

how about “i’m sorry but no” ? also, the obikin was adorable on the last lumberjack ficlet but i have to say i absolutely love how quinlan saw a depressed cold little english professor looking meow meow and went “alright im adopting this one now he’s mine” like a bedraggled little kitten you find sitting in a box on the street corner
hi hello!!! this is "i'm sorry, but no" prompt fill, set in my fix-a-sith au, where jedi feel like sith can be cured of the dark side like an illness, primarily through constant contact with someone Light. aka usually through marriage. obi-wan s brought in to marry newly fallen sith anakin (this is the tag)
(ps thank you for this lumberjack anakin au love!! this was absolutely quin's thought process in that ficlet!)
(1.3k)
Anakin—Vader, but Anakin sometimes, and Anakin now—has a very good feeling about the course of tonight’s events and what they mean.
He played very nice with all of Obi-Wan’s friends, even Vos. Even Ventress, who’s really more like friend by association. Friend by being married to Vos, which is a double black mark in Anakin’s mind but apparently means that Obi-Wan gives him very disappointed eyes whenever he growls at her.
So tonight, when they’d all gone out to dinner, Anakin had kept all of his displeasure to himself. He’d been polite to their server, had grunted out a laugh in response to Vos’ jokes, and even allowed Ventress to touch his husband’s arm to get his attention. Attention that, until that moment, had been completely Vader’s.
He hadn’t even Force-choked her in a way that could be easily tied back to him, though she’d coughed and spluttered when she’d taken a drink of her water a few moments later.
Obi-Wan had glared at him like he knew what he was doing with his hands beneath the table, but Anakin had smiled back sunnily, brightest blue eyes firmly in play. Like seemed to always be the case, the sight of Anakin’s blue eyes had seemed to dissolve Obi-Wan’s ire, and then his husband had reached across the space between them to lay a hand on Anakin’s thigh.
So Anakin has an incredibly good feeling about tonight because Obi-Wan has been keeping a hold on him throughout dinner, dessert, drinks afterwards. It’s been a hand on his thigh, it’s been a weight of an arm brushing the small of his back, it’s been fingers entangling with his own.
Despite the fact that they’ve been married for almost one standard year, Anakin can count on one hand the amount of times his husband has kissed him Casual touches have slowly made their way into their everyday communications, but kissing and any intimate sort of relationship has been kept firmly and jealously defended, with Anakn on the wrong side of the fighting.
His husband is too good, he thinks. He knows more than a few Jedi spouses have been tempted by their Sith partners to consummate their marriage bed. Force, he knows Ventress seduced Vos within their first week together.
But Obi-Wan Kenobi has resisted his every advance. Anakin would take it personally if he didn’t know just how good his husband was.
So tonight—filled with the touches, the looks, the reedy swallows and stuttering—is unexpected.
Unexpected but a gift to be treasured.
Treasured and consumed.
They are barely through the doors into their quarters before Anakin slams Obi-Wan up against the wall just to the side, hands sliding from his shoulders down to his waist as he presses against his body.
His lipss find his husband’s easily, his mouth already open and ready for the taking. Something inside of Anakin purrs as he tastes his husband. He has been missing the taste of him. He has been craving it and now it’s his again. Obi-Wan is his.
Obi-Wan has always been his, but now the man is kissing him back instead of denying it. Now the man’s mouth is too busy for words as his hands slide through Anakin’s hair and push his head to the angle he wants it most, and Anakin would contort his body into any position Obi-Wan desires if it means the man keeps kissing him like that.
It’s been so long since anyone’s kissed him. He can’t really remember if he’s always been this sensitive to the action or if Obi-Wan is especially good at coaxing these noises out of him.
Either way, the whimper he makes when Obi-Wan’s tongue drags across his bottom lip belongs to him. The breathless exhale that’s punched out of him when Obi-Wan pushes away to nip at his jaw is his as well. They all belong to Obi-Wan now because Obi-Wan is his husband, which makes Obi-Wan his.
He allows him to pull away with the greatest of reluctance. His body feels like one giant nerve, everywhere they’re touching somehow sending lightning through his veins. But the good sort of lightning. The kind that makes his chest sing instead of burn.
“Obi-Wan,” he murmurs, allowing his head to drop back, exposing the line of his throat to the Jedi’s perusal. “Obi-Wan.”
And then Obi-Wan does the unthinkable. He pulls away.
Anakin can feel his chest moving against his own, up and down, ragged and unfiltered in a way that makes Anakin’s mouth water to taste the sweat that will bead up on his husband’s chest, chase the oxygen as it enters his husband’s parted lips.
He wants more; he wants closer; he wants now.
He doesn’t understand why suddenly there’s a hand pressing against his chest, and he snarls his ddisspleasure at the distance it creates between their bodies. He can feel his husband’s desire as if it were hiss own. It is his own. It belongs to him, it—-
“Anakin, no,” his husband says, far too loudlyand firmly for the soft quiet of their quarters. Anakin’s eyes narrow, lips pulling back from his teeth because he’s being denied again, he shouldn’t—he cannot—-
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan murmurs, softer. “Anakin, I’m sorry, but no. We cannot. I cannot.”
Anakin knows such a statement is final, that he cannot push his husband to accept him like this. Consent. He knows it’s important. Distantly, in some small part of his mind that isn’t crushed by the disappointment of being pushed away or angry at the denial, he knows listening to Obi-Wan is important, integral even.
He pushes himself away before he can do something stupid and impulsive like hurt Obi-Wan, just because the hurt in his chest feels too big to be contained within himself.
He breathes deeply, in and out, just like the Jedi teachers have taught him.
“I’m sorry, Anakin,” Obi-Wan says, and the words feel like they cut him deep and in a way no healer could ever cure. “I cannot take advantage of you in this…intoxicated state.”
“I’ve not had two drinks,” Anakin mutters, hand against his own throat as he turns away, a paltry attempt to ground himself.
“You know I’m not talking about alcohol, dear one,” his husband replies, and Vader breaks. “Do not call me that!” he snaps, spinning back around to glare wetly at Obi-Wan. “As if you have some sort of—of familiarity with me even as you hold me at a distance, one that grows larger and larger by the day!”
“That is not true! I have let you in—”
“Everywhere except your bed!” Vader cuts him off, advancing upon him quickly and boxing him up against the wall. “You guard yourself so jealously, Kenobi. I ache for you and yet you push me away as if I were a youngling who needs to be minded—”
“You have Fallen, Anakin. You are not in your right mind. The Dark Side tempts and clouds one’s soul—to take advantage of such a thing, to give into my own desires—it would be—”
“Monstrous,” Vader finishes because he’s heard this before. He’s heard this speech so many times he could spout it from memory. “But what if the person who loves you is a monster, Obi-Wan Kenobi? What if that monster wants you to stoop to its level just once—just once—so it’s not alone in its monstrosity?”
Obi-Wan swallows and shakes his head, casting his gaze away. “You are not a monster, Anakin.” He pauses and swallows again. Shakes his head again.  “But I cannot afford to lose myself in you, Anakn. For both of our sakes.”
He straightens his robes hurriedly and exits through the doors.
Vader watches him leave. The lamp on the side table throws itself against the wall he had Obi-Wan pressed against only a handful of minutes ago. The burst of anger, once exercised, only makes him feel hollow.
He wishes, not for the first time, that Obi-Wan Kenobi was a little less good.
A little less perfect.
A little more reachable.
A little more....touchable.

Her first thought is that someone has actually found them. She can hear the sounds of furniture breaking as she approaches their modest stone house. Is it a bounty hunter rifling through their meager possessions in search of a clue as to their whereabouts? Or maybe Ahch-To actually does have large, predatory animals and one has wandered into the abandoned village where they've made a home? Slowly, silently, she looks over at each twin in their little hover cradles floating beside her. They are still sound asleep, thank the goddess. She looks around quickly for a safe place to hide with them until Anakin returns, and it is in creeping silently away that she happens to glance through one of the windows. She freezes in shock as she realizes it is Anakin. He's back hours earlier than she'd expected and is extremely upset about something, although what it is she can't begin to guess. She's genuinely never seen him like this.
Glancing back at the twins, she chews her bottom lip and decides they are likely safer hovering by the window outside for now. So she leaves them for the moment, walks towards the front door, opens it and steps through. "Anakin?" she asks in gentle tones. When that fails to get his attention, she tries again, louder: "Anakin!"
Tumblr media
Even though his back is to her, she can tell the moment that he recognizes the sound of her voice, because he freezes in place and the objects that had been floating around the room tumble to the ground. When she steps towards him, he shakes his head in protest: "Don't look at me! I don't... I don't want you seeing me like this."
Heart throbbing painfully in her chest, she continues to approach him until she is close enough to wrap her arms around him from behind. "What's wrong?" she murmurs in his ear. Although she pulls him back into a gentle embrace, she makes no effort to turn him around. She's learned over the years how important his bodily autonomy is to him, and thus she won't force him to face her until he's ready. But the one thing she won't do is leave him alone in obvious pain.

one of those time travel AUs where Vader goes back into his body as Anakin before he fell to the dark side and fixes everything. Palpatine is dead, the Jedi are alive, and everyone's happy. He never found out who Luke's twin sister was, but that's fine because this time around he'll get to know both of them from birth. The twins are born and Padmé says she wants to name their daughter Leia! :) And Anakin thinks, Hmm. Looking back I can see that Princess Leia was a good person, and we were only enemies because I went and became a Sith. Okay we can name our daughter Leia :)
Years pass and Leia starts growing older. The Organas adopt a completely different girl. Anakin's looking at his daughter like no, it can't be. No way. Do NOT tell me that Princess Leia was Luke's twin all along, but time keeps passing and it becomes increasingly apparent that this is indeed the case, and now he's having a Crisis

So, Mina in the Bad End AU, I was having a hard time getting her “voice” as it were, and then I had the thought-she doesn’t have one. There was an attempt made to fulfill her wish—and attempt Jonathan stopped, and Turning mostly fixed, but not before it cost her voice.
The lack of an ability to speak doesn’t make her any less a force, especially towards Dracula. Her being turned by him does give him a certain amount of ‘control’ over her, so that she can’t just rip his throat out, and she knows that with how things stand at the moment her family is somewhat beholden to his “hospitality”. And I think he enjoys trying to goad her into darker acts of vampirism (under the justifications of giving Jonathan a break from being their shared meal, and creating a world where her son could walk free without fear of being staked)
But she also knows she’s got all the time in the world to come up with a vengeance to rain down on him sweeter then anything else she could possibly taste. So she waits and plots in silence…
Tumblr media
CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THERE’s NOTHING ROMANTIC HERE. The vibe if anything is the Sith Apprentice bidding their time to overthrow their hated master and they both know it.
