THE ROYAL SIMS SERVER PRESENTS “A DAY AT THE ART GALLERY” PORTRAITS AND ART GALLERY

The Royal Sims Server is back again with the "Day at an Art Gallery" portrait pack! We got together to create these beautiful downloadable portraits that are perfect for storytellers, builders, or whoever needs some unique portraits along with an art gallery opening room to bring them to life in your game! Watching someone who just jumped on another user for brushing off racism then turn around and brush off their own racism is really disappointing. I know nothing about them, whether the first situation impacted them personally so they cared more, if they were just virtue signaling, or if they genuinely cared about it but went the human route of coming up with excuses for themselves since making excuses for your behavior feels easier sometimes than fully facing it

but with all the callouts and whatnot recently I think everyone should learn from it & we should all probably sit with ourselves for a bit and think before we really start throwing stones. Like I'm not trying to imply we shouldn't call each other out on things but I think it's important to be civil when appropriate, treat people how we'd want to be treated, and unless someone's done something majorly fucked up, maybe don't act gleeful over their downfall or name call or imply they should be cancelled or something, especially if you have your own issues and can't handle receiving even a fraction of that energy yourself.

Ultimately the goal in speaking up should be making this community a safer, more inclusive place. But doing your part to supposedly improve a community cannot just end at telling others what to do and not do, or trying to punish them or saying they should be punished for stepping out of line. Like self-awareness and reflection have to be more of a priority

I think personal labels can be useful for “there’s a word for it”, “I’m not alone”, and “oh neat, I know what to put in a search engine now” reasons, but I also think they can be troublesome.

Plenty of people won’t fit 100% neatly into a label, and when they encounter a rare exception to what is otherwise an accurate label for them, it can feel like an identity crisis.

The labels aren’t literally what you are. They’re words. They’re meant to assist communication and organization, not to control you.

Hi friends- just wanted to share KingsIsle’s official statement on the recent hacking that occurred (since the official tumblr blog isn’t active, and a lot of the tumblr fandom isn’t on twitter or facebook to see announcements like this.)

I would highly encourage you all to read the entire statement, as the event has left a lot of rumor or speculation floating around about who this was caused by or why it happened- all of which are addressed in this statement.

On the fun side of things, KingsIsle is granting free Membership (EU included) to all players, including all member benefits through the end of September.
