Hello, hi. This is my first day in actual Tumblr society and I wanted to make a good impression by going out and about the neighborhood. If this question doesn’t disturb your day, or the rest of the week forward, who are the best dancers among your cast?

Oohh 👀😁 I’ve never thought about this but I can already see the best dancer ranking 😂 This is not really a rigid and definite ranking and some have smaller gaps between them than the others.

From best to worst:

Skylar, Viktor, Takashi

From solo dance to romantic slow dance, they’ve got the moves—and confidence 🤭 They would be the type to dance without shame in dance clubs. Also, they would either know a bit from different types of dances or would be a fast learner if they need to learn a new one. They’re just groovy like that 😎

Rin and Azami

Rin specializes in waltz-type of dance while Azami, their mom, used to learn some types of Nihon-buyō (classical Japanese dance whose purposes are for art and performance) when she was younger and a little bit of waltz as well to round up her whole interest in music.

Yvette and Cara

Not as good as those above, but not bad as well. It nit be too hard for them to learn if they ever wanted to (they don’t 😆).

Yvette, especially, has the grace and fluidity of the motion belonging to a dancer’s, but not really the confidence because she keeps thinking she’s bad at dancing or that people will judge her if she makes a mistake and becomes the laughing stock of the city.

Cara, on the other hand, has the confidence and energy but don’t expect her to pull sick moves 😂 But she doesn’t care if her dance is a little bit awkward or even goofy sometimes, and she usually doesn’t mind if her family and friends laugh at her silly dance. She’s like the class joker type and enjoys making her loved ones laugh.

Santana

Not really big fan of dancing usually, but will enjoy just slow dancing casually with a partner, swaying side to side to the beat of the song. But that’s as far as their dancing skill goes 😭

Grandpa & Grandma

Similar to Santana, they just enjoy slow dancing with each other in private on rare occasions, especially as they grow older and fall in love with each other more and more 🥺 Trying to experience the romantic moments that the younger them missed or didn’t have the chance to do.

Ash, Luka, Jackal

Stiff as a board in actual dancing but excels in a dance of death, violence, and destruction—if that counts 🤣. Below are some exaggerated examples of how they might look like trying to do some trending moves 😭

The tale of two cities according to Heiko and Stephi - Part 406

We have already talked a few times about how we put the "Tales" together. If one of us sees "something" that might fit the "Tales", we take a photo of it and put it in our shared Dropbox folder.

When we have two fitting "somethings" we can post them. At the moment, we do have two fitting "somethings", but I have no idea what to write about them. Therefore I chose a "something" of Heiko's which has been in the Dropbox for years, and for years I didn't find a "music school".

We have a really cool huge music store in Munich which I took a photo of (second photo). In this store, you can find everything a musician's heart desires — every classic or modern instrument, microphones, headphones, loudspeakers, and every other piece of sound gear.

I was in there twice with Pete. Sadly, I lack every musical talent, which some of you "Tumblr Dinosaurs" might remember. For those who don't know what I'm talking about: Years ago, I lost a bet and had to post a video of me singing. Awful 😂

I definitely would have needed a music school. One like Heiko found and shows in the first picture. As I mentioned before, though, I didn't stumble upon a music school in years, and so people around me have to live with my bad singing.

1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?

I downloaded Choices in an extremely terrifying moment of my life in late 2019. I was seeing the ads everywhere and thought that this game might serve as a fairly decent distraction. Well, I wasn’t wrong skfjksjfk

I’m not sure which one was actually the first, but it was either the default TRR or Save The Date promoted at that time.

2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?

My obsession with Open Heart and Ethan Ramsey tied nicely with the release of the second book in 2020. The lockdown allowed me to explore this fictional world further, so I started looking for more content. I found the legendary Denise, aka @justanotherrookie, while lurking on IG. That’s when my long-forgotten Tumblr account came to my mind, and I logged in with the intention of scrolling through the tags to satisfy my EJR thirst.

3- How did you pick your blog name?

Oh, dear…It’s very silly! My skin is extremely pale and I have always been obsessed with music; hence the combo.

Fun fact: this account is quite old (though still not as old as my tumbroke card; I had like three other accounts before this one), and I was slightly embarrassed to enter a new fandom with my dusty aesthetic blog signed by some ominous name, but decided to go with the flow. Then the-pale-goddess has become my brand, and it was too late for any changes–anyone who has changed their URL knows how problematic blogging is afterward.

4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!

My first fandom post was inspired by the frustrating ending of the softball chapter AND the first hiatus announcement…It didn’t age well. As we all know, Ethan & MC didn’t ‘talk about it.’ What’s more, we had to survive a long OH drought before PB decided to resume the second book.

Three years later, the very same shitpost is still the most popular Choices post on my silly little blog lol

5- How long have you been writing fanfiction?

3 years, fanfiction is my pandemic baby! Though I’ve been writing since I was a kid, it was mostly poetry and never in English. But as time passed, I got more occupied with my teenage life and eventually lost motivation to write. That old passion resurfaced several years later, at the beginning of the pandemic. Apart from the obvious need for distraction from the COVID situation, I was frustrated that my English skills were getting rusty, so I decided to dive in.

6- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to write about?

No surprise here: Open Heart (the first book) and Open Heart 😂 I never tried writing about any other Choices book.

7- Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were writing it today?

Miami Heat aka my smutty Miami AU. The concept is brilliant, but the execution…Yikes! I often think of rewriting the entire thing because the writing is amateur at best and my inner perfectionist cringes whenever I think of this mini-series.

8- What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

It all depends on my mood, so here’s a list of my favorites!

9- Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but found could use a little more love?

Cabin Fever - apparently this 69 plotless smut is iconic for some reason? I don’t really get the hype. It has an insane amount of kudos on ao3, my other fics can’t compare lol

Burnt - Book 1 mutual pining E&T classic and one of my absolute favorites (we’re talking top 3); it could definitely use a little more love!

10- If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?

I’ll shock you all and say that I wish I could write fluff for the rest of my life kjgkdgjkdf But since I suck at it, I’d love to be stuck with angst and a dash of smut.

It’s probably a sad thing to admit, but I feel the most comfortable while writing angst. The realism of pain and the emotions that follow are simply very familiar, and it’s easy for me to conjure up a creative image to match the idea. Besides, there’s so much to explore in the angsty realm: all the flavor, nuance, layers, and symbolism. The possibilities are endless!

Smut doesn’t need an explanation, does it? I live on the thirst street 🤡

11- Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?

I do. That’s probably why Open Heart got me sucked right in–OH MC felt very real and relatable, I couldn’t help but see bits of myself in her. Though we share many traits and experiences, Tiffany definitely isn’t an extension of me. I poured my heart and soul into this woman, but she has become her own person and I try to avoid self-projecting into her character unless there’s a clear purpose.

12- What element of writing do you struggle with most?

Recently, I have been struggling with writing in general lol The internet is ruthless!

My biggest issue is that self-loathing perfectionist who doesn’t let me enjoy the process, nothing seems to be good enough for her, and that attitude dims my motivation and hinders creativity.

On a more technical note, I absolutely suck at describing basic movement. I could churn out a long essay on a character’s internal struggle explaining the most complex emotions or a 4K elaborate smut, but when it comes to finding the right words to portray the simplest action, like walking down the stairs or setting the scene for an early morning conversation at the hospital, I feel lost kdhdkhdkdb

13- Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

Pretty much all of my WIPs are neglected 🤡 But here are the most important projects I’m hoping to finish at some point in the not-too-distant future:

14- If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first?

Since fanfic is based on an existing work of fiction, and the core plotlines and characters should be well-known to the readers, I guess it could be a tedious and confusing read for someone who isn’t involved in the fandom. But then I have received comments from people unfamiliar with OH who have stumbled upon my fics and gave them a chance, so maybe I’m wrong lol

I like to think that I would be okay with sharing my works with someone I know and trust in real life, but let’s be honest: my crippling anxiety would stop me ksjfkjssd However, if I were to pick a fic rec, I’d choose Heaven Upside Down AU because it doesn’t need an extensive OH knowledge. Plus, I’m very proud of this series.

15 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?

While I try to keep my writing style unique and simply mine, there are three lovely ladies who had a huge impact on my writing journey:

@writinghereandthere (aka an actual genius and my writing role model) was the direct source of inspiration behind my fanfic revelation. I fell in love with Ethan and Mariana, Ana’s beautiful prose, her wit, unparalleled talent, and fantastic characterization. Her writing changed the trajectory of my life. Though she left the fandom long ago, her masterlist is a must-read for everyone, trust me! (Ana, if you’re reading this: I miss you more than words can convey. Sorry for the spam I leave in your inbox every now and then skgjksgjk Hope to hear about your original work soon ❤️)

@starrystarrytrouble & @terrm9 - these two literary geniuses have inspired me to follow my own writing path and develop a distinctive style. Their masterpieces offer poetic, raw emotions, encouraging me to allow myself more creative freedom. I’m in constant awe of their unmatched talent and come back to their works whenever I want to feel things ❤️

16- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?

Can I have all of them, please?

I would pay all my money to watch a TV series based on my canon OH plotline…I’m not kidding, I even made a bunch of Netflix edits because I need it in my life. On the other hand, my precious AUs would look amazing on the big screen! The most scrumptious one still hasn’t left my head though, so you have to trust me–the cinematic potential is truly there kdgjkdgjk 17- Do you write original fiction?

I have a few ideas, but they’re so complex I’m stuck on the outlining phase. Mayhaps one day?

18 - What other hobbies do you have?

I’m a certified music freak and a cinephile. I practice destroying male egos on a daily basis. I love photography, niche sports, playing with my dog, lifting people’s moods, random unhinged facts, and ignoring reality, and I have just entered my skincare expert era.

19 - What’s your favorite emoji?

These three emojis perfectly encapsulate who I am as a person, I think: full of love and magic, but also dead inside ksjgksjgks

I’d like to thank our lovely admins for giving me this exciting opportunity to ramble about my tiny corner on this hellsite and showcase my word vomit. My heart is full of gratitude! I may not be as active as I used to be, and real life doesn’t allow me to change that, but our fandom will always have a special place in my heart, and I feel very lucky to be a part of this community. Hi all!!! So for my first post on tumblr I wanna show anyone who’s interested what my interests and what I’m all about n stuff. Im a little awkward ik but I’m just gonna say some things and then put a list of stuff I like and am interested in and hopefully y’all won’t hate me or think I’m embarrassing 😂

My name is Rachele, but all my friends call me kele. I am a MINOR, and I put that in all caps because people in the past have been very weird w me on the internet so hopefully that’ll keep away weird people though I invite people “of age” to follow me as long as you respect my boundaries. I don’t want any trouble, I’m just here to have fun.

- I’m an Aries sun, Sagittarius rising and Pisces moon, which I guess makes me a very fiery, passionate, and romantic person which is true according to everyone who’s met me lol

- my mbti personality type is INFP

- I love astrology and astronomy, I guess I’ve always had a thing for space and planets and stuff like that

-I am a HOPELESS romantic, I want those cliché experiences and the dancing in the moonlight, walking through parks or on the beach, staying up for hours just talking, bonding with each other over everything, dancing and singing and screaming our hearts out together while we blast music, soft moments, movie theater dates, picnics and concerts and god knows what else. I will die an unhappy woman if i don’t experience it all with the person I love.

-I’m a theater kid, not a weird strange one istg, and I find comfort being on the stage and being able to be somebody else is very therapeutic considering how I don’t wanna be “me” right now lmao

- I’m very VERY bisexual, even tho most of my crushes are men I just love women

- I love reading (and this means anything — classics like The Picture of Dorian Gray, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, other fantasy like Harry Potter, The Witcher, Shadow and Bone (or anything by Leigh Bardugo), Outlander, fanfics, anything really

- I have a passion of hatred towards JKR despite her having made one of the best universes ever

when did you post your first ever fanfic?

I believe in 2012-2013? I was around 13-14 years old, so around then anyway (my first one doesn’t exist online anymore as far as I know so I can’t double check.) it was the usual middle school fandom girl era lol. First for my current account was February of 2022!

first character you wrote for:

It would have been Rin Matsuoka from Free! Iwatobi Swim Club! Specifically him and Nitori, they were one of my fave ships in that series!

main character(s) you’re currently writing for:

Basically anyone from the Loki series but especially Loki and Mobius and Sylvie, not necessarily in that order or all together but some combo of them 💚

character(s) you haven’t written about before but plan on writing about soon:

I haven’t written for OFMD but would really like to! I’ve had a lot of feels s2, no solid ideas yet but maybe something will spark some inspiration! Also Red White and Royal Blue! I haven’t gotten a chance to read the book yet but I watched the movie and got hooked and love those boys too 💕 so maybe one or both of them if the Loki series even temporarily gets it’s hooks out of me (with s2 though I’ve been as bad if not worse than before with my obsession so who knows lol)

And for within marvel the ship that got me into fanfic and got me to make this current ao3 account was Stucky so even though I only read for them and never wrote, they always have a place in my heart!

snippet of the wip you’re currently working on:

Right now I’m most heavily focused on a character study type fic cataloging different moments with Sylvie adapting to her McDonald’s life but specifically looking at her relationship with Jack, I think she would have such a great big sister vibe and they could learn a lot from each other 🥹

“Good job today, Sylvie,” Jack says, his lopsided smile clear even before Sylvie glances his way. He’s always got compliments and kindness at the ready, and he’s young and gentle enough that they’re always believable.

“Thanks, Jack,” she feels a smile curl onto her face. She still, even after knowing Loki and Mobius and B-15, feels like she doesn’t know how to have friends or family or any genuine connections at all. But Jack is the first in a long time to feel so real to her, to feel like a relationship she can stick with, with these new more permanent circumstances and her distance from the trauma of the TVA. She doesn’t remember what it’s like to be a sister, her memories of Thor long gone beyond the occasional glimmers in her dreams, let alone what being the older sister would be like, but this is what she suspects it is. A fierce protectiveness and gentle care, the ignoring of any silly flaws or naïveté because you just care about the person. That’s what she has for Jack, ever since he took her under his wing as an employee, she’s done the same for him as just a person.

“Mind if I stay here for a bit? My ma is going to be a few more minutes.”

Sylvie just smiles softly and scoots over on the wide hood of her truck, gesturing to the empty spot.

Jack nods rather sagely as he awkwardly hoists himself on to the hood of the truck, pushing himself up with his arms and then practically throwing himself on to it.

He pants softly as he adjusts to lay on his back a foot or two away from Sylvie, giving her another boyish grin. “Hey.”

“Very smooth, Jack,” Sylvie snorts.

“Your truck is huge! I’ve ridden in trucks before but yours is massive! I’m not sure how you even get up here, you’re shorter than me!” He laughs.

“My little secret, I guess,” Sylvie shrugs with a slight smile, returning her gaze to the inky sky, dotted with a trillion stars.

I’m excited to keep writing this, I’ve got some Lokius ideas in the works too but this one has been my focus for a few days!!

I’d love to see anyone do this that is interested but I’ll tag my usual group!!

It’s a “what happened during the ride to Eregion classic,” folks! One of my favorites of the bunch (and a favorite one-shot), it’s brimming with tension and tenderness in equal measure, and what feels like a series of stolen moments between a repressing-her-feelings-and-terror-but-holding-it-together (barely) Galadriel and a genuinely wounded, genuinely besotted, and what reads to me as genuinely guilty-feeling Sauron (can’t convince me otherwise). The narrative is tightly woven and bewitching to read; if you haven’t sought this one out yet, do. You’ll be happy you did.

The AU You Need to Immerse Yourself In Because, Well, Wow: lend me some sugar (I am your neighbor) by @wyrd-syster

What you need to know going in:

Flames engulfed me when I read this; pretty sure I still have the scorch marks.🔥 But really, this fic is so unfairly hot it immediately made its way into my bookmarks even before the, er, very satisfying conclusion. 😂 A 2-chapter Modern AU featuring Gal and Hal as neighbors in an apartment complex that has VERY thin walls, and Hal is not so courteous about keeping it down when he has guests. Despite being with Celeborn, let’s just say that Gal struggles with her rude neighbor’s nighttime activities. In more ways than one… 👀 Featuring a perfectly haughty but pretty well-justified Galadriel, a lightly mean, slutty and way-too-irresistible Halbrand, like I said, you’ll need to be prepared to cool down after you read this fic. Bonus! Hal is a cat dad. It only adds to his irresistibility.

The Complete But Never Forgotten Masterpiece: A Blessing of Eru by @scriberated

What you need to know going in:

Another masterpiece by the lovely @scriberated! A sprawling mini-epic that started off as a one-shot, this story sees Galadriel finding out she’s pregnant just before she learns who Halbrand really is. The devastation of the realization; the resulting anguish… is impeccable, as always with Scriberated’s works. From there, Galadriel tries to find a way forward, but to the surprise of literally no one, once Sauron realizes he’s going to be a dad, our favorite Dark Lord is even more all-in than before on the whole bind me to your light plan. After he learns the truth, he makes it his mission to win Gal over through any means necessary—some savory, others not so much. I don’t want to spoil too much plot, so I’ll just say that in addition to our favorite couple, the standouts here are the world-building and characterization, Gil-Galad and Elrond, especially. It’s truly amazing how much finely-written story gets packed into less than ten chapters, and how much character growth, even for Sauron. A favorite you’ll return to over and over again? Absolutely.

The WIP That Will Wreck You (In the Best Way): Oathbound {Series} by @nenyabusiness

What you need to know going in:

Cheating a little here because Oathbound is a series of standalone fics that you can read independently, but let me tell ya, you’ll want to bask in them all. The initial premise: Galadriel agrees to bind herself to Sauron, but only if they both swear an oath (with a capital O, Feanorian-style—aka irrevocable, or Serious Business in the Tolkien-verse) to linger close to the light as they try to heal Middle-earth together. From there, the series follows Gal and Sauron ruling Pelargir together, seeking an end to Adar and trying to toe the line between what is right, and what is easy. In other words, what the Oath will allow. The characterization, smut, and well, everything in this series is sublime, but I especially love the dynamic between Gal and Sauron here. Their exploration of morality is incredibly compelling, and it builds a recognizable but incredibly unique-feeling bond and partnership between the two of them. The latest installment is especially a testament to that—so go catch up if you’re not already reading it!

The Can’t Stop Consuming No Matter What Time It Is Fic: Lay me down by @orcas86

What you need to know going in:

Mmm, another post-S1 story with all the markers of greatness, which is no surprise coming from @orcas86 (who you’ll definitely see listed here again). It begins with Galadriel giving birth to her and Sauron’s son, and all of the all-encompassing feelings that accompany the life-altering event. It’s a heady start to a story that follows how Galadriel and Sauron will navigate a tenuous future as parents on opposing sides of a war. Again, I don’t want to spoil too many plot details for this semi-slow burn, so I’ll just say that it grips you; draws you in an incredibly immersive, almost stifling way through the broad range of feelings from Galadriel, Sauron, and also Elrond, too. Characterization with a capital C. Pick this baby up when you’ve got hours to kill; you won’t regret it.

Same Old Creepy Lunatic

Okay, let's start with Mr. Cotton buds here. We all know that this man is actually insane but, oh man, seeing who seems to be Emily as his Siri rip-off got me off-guard. We saw in "Multiplication" that he had to do a full body scan of Adrien in what I assume is a facility owned by the Tsurugis to make his 3D model. I doubt he would have requested Amelie to do this for a number of reasons. So, did he just secretly drag Emily's unconscious body to the facility to get her scanned just so she can be his personal virtual assistant? 💀

Also, we've seen Hawky change costumes many times but I honestly like his old classic costume way better than any other else ESPECIALLY this Monarch one. The new one just looks so much more hilarious 😭😂 like PLEASE why did he randomly decide to have his ears out? And I see that his fake grandkids got their grandpapi's piercing blue eyes.

Kwami and Technology

Ya'll, they literally reminded us in this episode that Kwamis aren't supposed to be detected by tech but then we now see that they're largely being controlled by... guess what? Technology! Like, Hawky is literally transferring their powers to the akumatized's ring as if he were just sending an email. But ya know what? this is Miraculous we're talking about. The logic in this show is non-existent so let's just not think too deeply about this and move on *cough cough*

The Dream

Oh my god. This... this part was a rollercoaster of emotions

Firstly, this shot kinda caught me off-guard again because... Chat Noir in all white... *sobs* at least it didn't give Ladybug any traumatic flashbacks I guess 😭🏃‍♀️💨

Secondly, I love how they get more creepy babies with each next shot 😂 I guess they'll have more than just Louis, Emma, and Hugo.

"Neither do I, my sweet kitten. So Join me!"

yeah, you heard that? That was my heart shattering into a million pieces. The moment when the umbrella theme music started playing, I knew that this scene would destroy me. the fact that Chat Noir tried to break the clock makes my heart hurt so much. He wanted to stay in this dream so bad that he'd risk everything else. The fact that he also had to stay behind a little longer to grieve everything that he just lost is- is- AGHHHHH 😭 this poor boy just let him be truly happy FOR ONCE! And the way they kissed each other with tears streaming down both their cheeks 🥺😫 Ladybug's line was also seriously so romantic: "But I don't want to lose all of this!" "Neither do I, my sweet kitten. So Join me!" She's saying that she still wants to have this life with him but to truly have this future, they have to wake up 🥺😭 SO IT KILLS ME HOW IN DENIAL SHE STILL WAS DURING THE END SCENE!!! At least we see that Chat was slightly smiling during their conversation about it, which could mean that he knows it wasn't really manipulated and what they both saw are truly what they both desired. *deep inhale of copium*

Yeah, well, we all know the synopsis of this story, right? A Colombian man with dubious ethics and a gringa with daddy issues who have sex. It’s my first Carrillo’ fic and we all know how much I adore Maurice in Narcos. Boom, boom, let’s goooooo 💃

VERSOS DE PLACER - MAYE

Well, I think the name said it 😂😂😂 But it’s kinda curious and delightful to use that song as my first big break on Tumblr, especially with Carrillo who’s a character I personally like a lot. I mentioned an excerpt from it when I made a moodboard for this fanfic a while ago.

Versos de Placer talks about finding an unexpected love, something that no one was looking for but found in a remarkable and true way. Although the story has not yet been so evident in this regard, I have been reinforcing important signs of the characters' expectations and yearnings for this feeling.

Yo que no te busqué (I did not look for you)

Sin querer te encontré (I accidentally found you)

Me escapó (I run)

A dónde tú estés (where you are)

Una y otra vez (over and over)

More than just the classic “Found you on my worst, you gave me new meaning”, I believe that Carrillo is the type of character who doesn’t mind love. It’s just there for him, sometimes, and he gets used to it since he lives a life of danger, like he rationalized it. The relationship he builds with reader is purely rational and even in the moments of desire or sentimental sharing, in the end they both don’t know what is the next step - they just know something is there and it’s good.

TÚ - MAYE

Like most writers, I was kind of in a moment when I started writing Versos de Placer. I'm not there anymore, but for all intents and purposes I can say that this particular singer was an inspiration. Firstly because she sings in Spanish and secondly because she's good - I thought that made sense.

Todo lo que pasa es relativo (Everything that happens is relative)

Pero cada vez que estoy contigo (But every time I'm with you)

El tiempo se detiene (The time stops)

Y desaparece (And disappears)

Ya no me hace falta nada más (I don’t need anything else)

Si lo más difícil de encontrar (If the hardest to find)

Lo encontré contigo (I found with you)

Writing to certain couples is like catching glimpses of a future. If I could define a timeline of the story, Versos de Placer would begin and Tú would end, like a moment in which they move from uncertainty to an absolute truth. I'm a sucker for love stories with happy endings - with fidelity, devotion, contact. And perhaps someone may disagree, but I see Carrillo as the type of man who doesn't love unless it's like that, because as I already said, for him love is a palpable feeling and there was no other way to experience it than in total effort.

This song has a soft, hopeful tone, like a calm, warm love - like driving down the road with the sea breeze on your face, no music but the sound of the wind. I think they both deserve it. Carrillo deserves it.

CHAN CHAN - BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB

Latin culture is very rich - A LOT. As a Latina woman, I love learning about everything Latin American countries have to offer and I like to talk about it whenever I can, as a historical reparation or just... because. I won't dwell on this, everyone already knows.

I chose this song, but I'm not going to put the lyrics because it's not necessarily what they say, but the intention behind it. Buena Vista Club is a Cuban group and the music, in general, portrays the experience in Cuba. Still, the choice of instruments, the vocal intonation, the musical rhythm, everything always led me to a Carrillo who, unable to consume foreign culture beyond what was strictly necessary, would listen to this. On days in a good mood (rare and very vague) he would hum the song while doing everyday things.

This song is an experience. Listen if you can.

INTIMIDADE - LINIKER E OS CARAMELOWS

Liniker is a Brazilian trans singer who has already become a reference and probably a part of the history of my country. I adore her. Like, she's a goddess. I think that anyone who would think about learning more about our music should start or at least go through her work.

This song is a production with the band that accompanied it, the "Caramelows", and they had such an incredible repertoire.

The name of the song is very intuitive - Intimacy. To stay together. To share. I don't know, it makes sense. In a context where Carrillo is a man with many rough edges, I think a good thing about many stories is to explore this. It's not my focus, but I can certainly recommend others that address the subject better. This song is more of a recommendation, an immersion into what a relationship with Carrillo could be if nothing were... Well, if we created him.

P.S.

I'm taking steps back with my posts here, but I'm not on hiatus. I've been owing this for months and only now have I found the strength to finish it, so you can imagine what my pace has been like lately. This IS NOT an apology, even though it's not a secret (I've always been very clear about my pace), I'm not sorry either. Sometimes life happens and that's normal.

I'm specifically working on Bossa Nova, because I also took steps back with Versos de Placer for the sake of the story; as I said above, I'm not at the same point as I was when I started it.

I have a request on my list that I will do as soon as I can. The second part of the last chapter I wrote of Versos de Placer will come out when I'm ready, because it's going to be a turning point and as we're in the final stretch, I want to be more sure of what I want to do. You understand.

The weather is strange around the world, so take care! I'll be around, but a little more off.

Like if you asked me my favorite anime, book, etc. My head goes whoosh then my damn brain turns into a smooth mofo.

I love a lot of things… Yes. I would make a list… but then I wouldn’t stop. If I had to settle for one Sans, it’d be OG Classic. The Origin, The Legend, The #1 Tumblr Sexyman, Sans the Skeleton. The other top fav Sans at the top of my list would be Fell, Horror, Lust, and Nightmare, and it goes on.

But to tell yah the truth I am more of a Papyrus Simp, I realize this sometimes whenever I come across any type of OG or AU Papyrus art. It’s a hard choice. My mind and body goes to Sans, but in a way my affection is with both, but mostly Papyrus. I don't know if that makes sense, it feels like two-timing. I should draw more of Papyrus, even out the simping scales. \(￣︶￣*\)

In terms of ships? (I heard the topic of shipping can be complicated or an issue) ... So. Hmm. from what I've self-evaluated to myself. I don't really have a favorite... :D I think? Cause most of the time I choose to neither like nor dislike because love and hate are too strong of an emotion for me to deal with. Disliking things makes me feel tired and I can only handle so much fangirling/boying before my feral emotional levels exceed my capacity to remain conscious. With the amount of words I’ve said so far, I am proving I am a walking contradiction.

Anyway, I'm a welcome all-type of person, I'm neutral as long as no harm is being done. Meaning I am the type to also dabble in a ton of things. (゜-゜) (´◑ω◐`)

The first ship I drew was y/n x sans au and I have drawn Error and Blue together for a cute ditys. I've been meaning to attempt drawing more ships, but not at the moment.

One insert ship I'm into at this time, that I can recall at the top of my head is an artist called @/mothiepixie (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ) 😆💖

Also! I actually made it to 100 followers last month! I wanted to make a dtiys on such an occasion, but someone did a wrist twist move on me and now I can't exert my fingers or wrist that much, so I'm doing doodles or working on past WIP I've already started on ever so slowly.

I haven't gotten the chance to figure out what I’d draw exactly for a dtiys. If I were to make one now, it’d be at least 2-4 months to maybe a whole year in duration, depends.

Would I make prizes? I'd probably give everyone who participated a simple drawn prize for my first DTIYS (maybe☜(ﾟヮﾟ☜)), then for the next DTIYSs I would do top 3 or 4-5 five winners.

A Romance Story (No Not That Kind)

Tolkien considered "fantasy" to be different from "faerie-tales," namely in that he considered a fantasy to involve the sprawling and immersive development of what he called a "secondary world," i.e. a fictional world apart from our real one. Even if you didn't know that about his views, it should come as no surprise to you, given how deeply detailed Arda is, and how the few stories he wrote that were set in Arda were as much byproducts of the worldbuilding as endeavors in themselves.

I don't draw that same conceptual distinction myself but I see exactly what he's saying, and I do feel irrationally proud that my work would in fact qualify as a Tolkienian fantasy by his own criterion.

I feel very old-fashioned coming on Tumblr and talking over and over about JRR Tolkien, because I know a lot of people who see this are hip young things who are frankly Over It and are way more interested in contemporary stuff that's more inclusive / fits modern sensibilities better / etc. But I really never do seem to run out of things to say about Tolkien.

Today's saying is this: I too have an esoteric conceptual box that I set my work in. I consider After The Hero to be a "romance" in the vein of (but not identical to) the classical sense of the concept of literary romance: pomp and pageantry, a sweeping sprawl to the world, and epic adventures and quests within it. You might think of such a story as one that is told "for its own sake," as opposed to having a particular agenda in mind via the plot or a main character arc. There is a lot of spectacle all throughout The Curious Tale, with many scenes and moments being of the sort that would typically be omitted for length in most books. Last week, when I mentioned the scene of Sodish city runner Kayaju running alongside a bard as the bard sings her a song about the city's history as the Sun is rising, the reason I mentioned it is that it's just a really beautiful moment. But it doesn't do anything. There's no plot there. Kayaju is deep in the B-list of character importance. It's really just "Here's a beautiful moment I want to share." And that, for me, is the epitome of romance.

And it only works if the story is also a fantasy in the Tolkienian sense! 😂

I'm rereading one of my favorite novels of recent years, Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie, and it's even better than I remember it and I'll probably have something to say about it in this space soon, but it's so very much self-excluded from being romantic. Too practical, too cynical, too down-to-Earth, and too attached to the rails of the plot. No scenic detours, other than establishing paragraphs here and there. It's all very well done; don't get me wrong! But it takes real flagrance to write romance. You have to be prepared to put your readers through thousands and thousands of words that don't do anything.

It's a sacrifice I am willing for you to make! 😁

I haven't gotten a chance to read what you've written so far, but I'm curious as to your process. What was the source of inspiration for your current WIP? Did you start with characters who wouldn't stop talking in your head? Flashes of moments? Images inspired by music? What do you fall back on when you need to be re-inspired?

No worries, my ongoing WIP on Ao3 is over 100K posted words, so I by no means expect you to. 😂

Good Slaves Never Break the Rules is the long-time-coming perfect storm of three main influences.

First, I started writing it almost eight years ago to entertain myself on a transatlantic sea voyage (that's worth another whole post altogether), and some of the characters and early situations (I won't say specifically which ones!) were inspired by the unusual dynamics that pop up when strangers from vastly different origins and roles onboard are pressed together in a small space with no choice but to work and spend time together (very soon, my imagination wildly diverged from what actually happened however 😂).

Second, for a long time, I've been an avid reader of pretty much any and all slavefic (there's a lot on Ao3, both fanfic and original) and much of it is good. I always especially liked the alternate universe ones that had slavery transposed to a modern setting. But for all of that time, I could never find THE story I was looking for, the one that uses many of the common whumpy slavefic tropes (although this was long before I was in the whump community, that was just a happy accident) but is also a preferably M/F romance, using a very different type of male MC who, despite being a slave and the target of pretty much constant abuse of all kinds, has much more in common with conventional romance heroes than the perpetual helpless victims that slaves tend to be in fiction. And the female MC, rather than being some powerful dominatrix type who can do whatever she wants, is an ordinary girl who is also oppressed in a way by the society she lives in, is blind to its wrongs, and has to have her eyes opened to be brave enough to stand up for what's right. And though power dynamics are always at the forefront, the MCs come to see each other as equals. So this was also one of those "I guess I'll write it myself" moments.

Third (and I don't think I've ever had a chance to discuss this on this blog before, so thank you!), having studied the classics, for many years I've been enamored with the ancient Roman comedies of Plautus and Terence, who tended to use slaves as main characters -- and I do mean main characters. They're active, clever, funny, charming, often manipulative (but always for the right reasons), perpetually involved in zany plans and schemes, and they're anything but victims. I'd written a few things inspired by these plays previously (including a quasi-historical short story and my very first novel, also historical and of a writing quality typical for an 18-year-old, many years ago), but now that my writing skills are far more advanced, I thought it was time to try again, using a modern alt-history setting this time. Plus the plays themselves are just really fucking funny, and my story incorporates a lot of humor (and a lot of really dark stuff, too, but that's usually how it works with me).

As for getting re-inspired? I also had to do that quite recently after writing and posting a monster chapter and needing a break. What helped was rereading some of those earlier scenes that I was really excited about, and doing some tag games on Tumblr (including the Q&A I tagged you in) that allowed me to just have fun writing in my characters' voices and kind of re-re-discover them.

i’ve seen it mentioned a couple times now that both naoya and naobito watch anime in their free time (naoya in a couple ask responses and naobito in ch. 25) and my mind is plagued,,, what do they watch?? what genres? sorry if this is a weird detail to focus on but i can’t get it out of my head lmao

Hello!!! I'm so happy to see you again!!!

I've been well, a bit busy, here and there, just travelling all over the place hahahah But I'm finally able to take a break 😤!!

Now, as soon as I got this ask, I literally screamed because this is something that I've been thinking for a while now!! More so because I don't really have anything detailed just yet haha

BUT I can say this! I read on another Tumblr blog (Naoya-centric may I add) that they headcanon that his favorite anime (or that he liked very much) would've been Neon Genesis Evangelion, and that kind of stuck with me since then! They were even saying that their favorite character would've been Asuka as well, and now... I think I see it. He'd be completely unaware of the similarities between the two (they're both a bit annoying, but they have their moments lol)

For his favorite genre, I think he might've liked shonen allot. Just classics like HunterxHunter, Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball even (I think his father introduced him to that one first) to the point might've influenced his work as a sorcerer one way or the other hahahaha

But his guilty pleasure must be the slice of life genre, he likes to imagine himself in those scenarios 😂 (poor bby just wants to have a normal life with his friends 😭)

However, I think he reads manga far more frequently than watching anime, he can take it with him during missions, you know?

As for Naobito, it's stated in the manga that he doesn't like modern anime (contrary to what I believe of Naoya) because they kind of stopped using the 24 fps method in favor of, you know, much more modern alternatives. (And he probably hates 3D/CGI animation as well lol)

However... because I'm somewhat aware of what was popular back in 2009-2010 (that was my peak anime moment lol).... I headcanon Naobito was a big fan of Vocaloid. Hatsune Miku was his favorite, world is mine is on replay for sure.

OMG WHAT IF HE WAS LIKE:

Naobito: What's the name of your kid, Toji?

Toji: Megumi

Naobito: Huh? Like the vocaloid?

Toji: what

Naobito: what

Ah, if only the timelines matched.

Anyways, for anime, I think he indulges allot into Shojo.

He likes something... relaxing to see when he's not working, sure, he enjoys action, but he already gets that with his life as a sorcerer so why not try something different? Besides, he loves drama, and love triangles are like his guilty pleasure (oof he's going to have a blast when he knows what's going on with Naoaki and Naoya LMAO) I keep envisioning him liking Urusei Yatsura allot??

And that's what I think they like :> I think their preferences kind of influence one another, considering Naobito was the one that introduced Naoya into anime, but at the end, they have different reasons to what what they do.

sage: what ‘medium’ of art (poetry, music, fiction, paintings, statues etc.) is the most touching to you? why do you think that is?

I think it is music, yes! Depending on what mood or situation I am in, music is my companion to calm down or indulge in my moment. And I realise that I so often listen to music while thinking about my fanfiction ideas. The music that goes along while walking and brainstorming about my characters next headcanon (mostly fluff stuff…) is inspiringly helping to dive into that realm which I can wonder off in my terms! That has been the case since childhood. I have listened to music to fall asleep and sometimes simply laid on my bed daydreaming (mostly about some favorite characters from a story/movie… early headcanons alarm! lol) Right now, the songs I was listening to for the last few weeks were classic oldies, and were simply the coolest while writing on my new kristanna Residence AU… I bet you are fed up with my babbling about that one by now… 😂

jasmine: do you have a movie or book you loved but will never watch/read again?

This is easy to answer (or not 😂)... no! All books or movies I have ever loved, I would watch/read them again (unless they have vanished...)... If I start listing, tumblr will blog me out 😂

I just wanted to put this idea out... It's basically uni au very y/n is joined 2 3 months after start of 1st semester. And their first meeting is like bumping into each other. Harry is like a arrogant mean sexy hot lad, typical frat and y/n is a shy but badass bitch. And then their encounters are always mean and hatred, until once it's raining and both are stuck under same roof near a supermarket or something.

And y/n ask that why is he always so mean.. and Harry's past would be about how he let's people come in and make him fall and then break his heart, not once or twice but few times, so being mean won't let people enter his life.

And y/n is always a good human and shows humanity towards him even though he is all mean to her. And then once he tells her he wants her to be his listener... like he wants to share things with her about his past without hesitation. And she let's him , and after 2 week about them being free with each other and little intimate moment where she feels for him,but then meeting at uni he is all back to same harry, mean and arrogant.

She is sick of him and tells him all the truth about how the world will play with him and he will get destroyed his heart won't be able to survive.

And then for Christmas they have to dress in pairs and be a team for treasure hunt. She is partnered with h and then she leaves for her hometown cause of her grandmother being sick. After a week of silence from her. She comes back on and during treasure hunt(Christmas treasure hunt)she breaks down(only around h) Since she is been most closest to her.

They win treasure hunt. They are then all soft around each other but a little angst will spice it up. And lastly a couple dance where jalboyh is playing behind while dancing. They both are crying mess .

I had it somewhere deep in my notes and now that I see this m kinda proud of myself, cause writing stories and essays are not me😂 but I feel it's kinda a typical concept.

I wrote this a year ago when I was new to tumblr. Now that I have read hundreds of fics I feel like this is basic.😂😭
