Home is whenever I’m with you

He’s back. Your boyfriend is back. There's a tangle of nerves in the pit of your stomach at the mere thought of seeing him again, especially after all that’s happened. You get to hug him, to kiss him, to feel the softness of his thick, beautiful hair under your fingers again.
But not now. His mother is missing. Those are the words Emily spoke to you over the phone after she called to let you know he’s released. It’s ironic, to hear such wonderful news just to be followed by something so disheartening. And the guilt creeps in, that nagging feeling that maybe, just maybe, if you had gone to visit his mom as planned, this nightmare could've been avoided.
“Do not blame yourself,” Emily adds, her voice is a lifeline in the chaos of emotions. It's as if she can read your thoughts, know exactly what you're feeling without you saying a word. “Just stay where you are, okay? I've got agents keeping an eye on your building. I'll keep you updated."
You're left with no choice but to accept. Your boyfriend may be back, but you still can’t see him.
And you get it. His mom comes first, always has, and always will. A child's love for their parents is unbreakable, and if you were in his shoes, you'd move heaven and earth to keep your parents safe. So, naturally, you do what any loving and supportive girlfriend would do—you wait.
And wait. And wait. And wait. Each passing second stretches into agonizing minutes, and those minutes drag on into long, uncertain hours. One skipped meal turns into two, and suddenly, you're lying in bed in the dead of night with an empty stomach. You know you should take care of yourself, but your mind is fixated on him.
What is he doing? Has he eaten anything? Is he taking breaks at all? Has he managed to get any sleep? And most importantly, has there been any news about his mom?
Your mind is racing, flooded with countless unanswered questions. You try to find comfort in sleep, but every ring of your phone feels like a cruel interruption, each time hoping it's him—or at least a word from his friends. But it's always a disappointment, just meaningless notifications and distant messages from your friends about mundane plans.
Eventually, exhaustion overtakes you, but your sleep is restless, it's as if your mind refuses to grant you a moment of respite. Then, in the quiet hours of the night, at two in the morning, you're jolted awake by the familiar sound of a new message on your phone.
His mom is safe.
A sigh of relief escapes you, almost audible in the silence. You type out a response to Emily with trembling hands.
That’s good to hear. Is he fine?
Not great, but he's managing.
That's all you need to hear. His mom is safe, and though he's not doing great, he's managing well enough. With a weight lifted off your shoulders, you finally allow yourself to relax. At least now you can drift back into sleep knowing that he's partially okay.

You wake up again later that night by a rapid knocking. At first, you try to brush it off as just noise from the neighbors, but as you slowly come to your senses, you realize it's coming from your apartment.
Half-worried and half-curious, you reluctantly peel yourself from the comfort of your bed, your mind racing with possibilities as you approach the door. When you glance through the peephole, you're met with a sight that instantly jolts you awake. Without a second thought, you fumble with the lock and swing the door open.
And there your boyfriend stands, but he's a far cry from the man you remember. His hair is wild and unkempt, and his eyes, usually bright and lively, are now dull and tired, shadowed by exhaustion. He's dressed in his usual suit and tie, a combination you've always admired for its professional and polished look. But today, his shirt is half-tucked, half-untucked, and his tie hangs loosely around his neck
“Spence, what are you—”
Before you can finish, he bursts through the door, wrapping his arms tightly around you.
"I'm sorry," he breaks, his voice strained with emotion. "I—I wanted to come here as fast as I can—"
“Hey, hey, it’s alright.” You wrap your arms around his waist and take in a deep breath. Despite his disheveled appearance, he smells exactly as you remember—warm, familiar, like home. “It’s all good, honey, I don’t mind.”
“It’s not alright. I should’ve answered your calls—”
“Spencer, it’s okay,” you interrupt gently, running your fingers soothingly down his back. “After all the time you’ve been away, a few more hours hardly matter.”
“Well, it should matter,” he mumbles against your skin, his voice muffled as he buries himself in the crook of your neck. “I shouldn’t have left you like this.”
You hold him tighter, feeling his weight against you, his breath warm against your skin. “Shh,” you murmur, rubbing his back in comforting circles. “You’re here now, that’s all that matters.”
He nods against your neck, his grip on you tightening as if he's afraid to let go.
“How’s your mom?”
He lifts his head slightly, meeting your gaze with tired eyes. “She’s... she’s okay,” he replies. “We found her. She’s safe now.”
You exhale a breath you didn’t realize you were holding, relief flooding through you. “I’m glad to hear that,” you say, cupping his cheek gently. “Are you okay?”
He hesitates for a moment as if considering the question carefully. “I’m fine, just… tired.”
Your fingers traced the lines of exhaustion etched on his face. “Let’s get you inside and comfortable, okay?”
He nods, and you usher him inside, relief flooding through you as you close the door behind you. Your fingers naturally intertwine with his as you guide him towards your bedroom.
“Do you want anything? Water, food?”
He shakes his head, falling into step with you. “Maybe later,” he murmurs, squeezing your hand. “How have you been?”
"Well," you begin, your voice filled with warmth. "'I've been keeping busy while you're gone.”
You lead him to the edge of the bed, sitting him down while you stand between his legs, your eyes meeting his tired gaze. "Work has been... work," you say with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood. “And I managed to put up the shelf I bought online. Look.”
You gesture towards the bookshelf nestled in the corner of the room and he follows your gaze. “You did that all by yourself?”
"Yeah, I did," you reply, your smile widening. "It wasn't easy without having you constantly nagging me how to do it, but I figured it out."
He nods, a hint of regret shadowing his features. “I'm sorry I wasn't here to help you.”
You shake your head, moving closer to him and placing a comforting hand on his cheek. "Don’t apologize.”
He leans into your touch, his gaze meeting yours with a vulnerability that tugs at your heartstrings. His eyes, wide and brown, look up at you, and you can’t help but compare him to a puppy—sad, yet undeniably endearing, with an innocence that melts your heart. You brush a thumb gently across his cheek, noting the subtle change in his appearance.
“You grew out your facial hair.”
A faint blush colors his cheeks as he shifts under your gaze. "Yeah, I guess I did," he replies, his voice tinged with self-consciousness.
You can't help but smile at his bashfulness. "I like it," you assure him. "It suits you."
“Really?”
“It’s growing on me.”
His expression softens at your words, a warmth spreading through his tired features. "Maybe I'll keep it.”
You nod in agreement, a smile playing on your lips as he wraps his arms around you, pulling you closer. He sighs contentedly as he leans into your chest, and you gently stroke his hair, soothing him with your touch.
"It's good to be back," he murmurs, his voice muffled against your shirt.
"It's good having you back," you reply softly, brushing a strand of his hair away from his face.
“I thought I was never going to see you again.”
"Why would you think that?”
He hesitates for a moment. "After everything that happened... I wasn't sure if I'd make it back to you.”
You gently tilt his chin up, meeting his gaze. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that.”
His eyes glisten with unshed tears as he nods, his vulnerability laid bare. "I was also afraid that I might lose you,” he adds. “I was afraid you’d get tired of waiting for me.”
“Oh, honey…”
“Everyone I care for always leaves, sooner or later. And I can’t bear the thought… the thought of not coming home without you in my life,” he admits, his voice trembling with emotion and you feel a lump form in your throat as you listen. "I feel… so different right now. I don’t feel like my usual self, and I-I was afraid you wouldn’t like this version of me.”
You pull back slightly, cupping his face in your hands, your gaze locked with his. "I would never think any less of you.”
He sniffs, and that's when you notice a tear escaping down his cheek. Your heart aches even more. “I might not be the same person you last saw me.”
You shake your head, brushing away his tears with your thumb. "It doesn't matter," you reply earnestly. “You're still the person I fell in love with, and nothing will ever change that.”
He looks at you in disbelief, as if he can't quite comprehend how you could love him so unconditionally. "How can you be so sure?"
"Because I see you," you reply. "Beyond the surface, beyond the changes, I see who you are—the kindness, the strength, the love that has always been a part of you. And that's something that remains unchanged, no matter what."
He exhales softly, his features softening as he absorbs your words. But you aren’t finished, not until he realizes how worthy of love he is.
“You’re still the man who loves silly magic tricks, you’re still the man who asks for jello every time we have dessert,” you tease, a gentle smile tugging at the corners of your lips. He cracks a small smile at your playful words. “You’re still the man who loves books, who loves learning. You're still the man who loves helping other people.”
You lean closer, your breath mingling with his as your lips almost touch.
“And I’ll be the one to love every version of you,” you whisper. “The person you were, the person you are, and the person you're becoming.”
He grips your hips and pulls you closer. Without a word, you understand what he needs, what he's asking for, and you close the distance between you, your lips brushing against his.
You never truly understand the meaning of bittersweet until this very moment. His tears carry the saltiness of sorrow, but his lips offer a sweetness that lingers on your tongue. You feel the weight of his pain, the heaviness of his grief, yet you also sense a comforting warmth in the way his lips move gently against yours.
You can feel his uncertainty, and it’s clear that getting back into his old routine won't be easy after everything he's been through. But you’re here for him and you're willing to support him in any way you can.
Because he’s back. Your boyfriend is back. You can hardly believe you get to hug him, kiss him, and run your fingers through his thick, beautiful hair once more. You can’t believe you get to hold him again in your arms, and you hope to do so for a very long time.

7 yr old Annabeth that memorized the exact way to get home from school because her dad forgot to pick her up again. 10 yr old Annabeth waiting to be taken back to camp because she couldn’t last a few days without getting into an argument with her father or step-mother. 12 yr old Annabeth that feels like she can’t ask for things from her mortal family. 14 yr old Annabeth that starts to cover up monster battle scars at home because it might “scare” her step-brothers. 16 yr old Annabeth who doesn’t know how to react when Sally helps her calm down from a panic attack when she visits to give updates on Percys disappearance. 16 yr old Annabeth that starts feeling less like she has tip toe around the Jackson-Blofis’ and starts spending more and more time with them. 16 yr old Annabeth that starts talking to her camp siblings about why she wakes up in the middle of the night shaking and muttering something about Luke or mount Tam. 17 yr old Annabeth that never told anyone that she spent her birthday in Tartarus, fighting for her life in so much pain and fear. 17 yr old Annabeth who only told Fredrick once that there was another war, all he said was that he was sorry that a sixteen year old had to go through that. But Annabeth was 17. She was 17 and decided to spend the night with Percy.
THIS IS ALL SO ON POINT AND I HATE IT (and i love how you said it)
annabeth deserved so much better. my only consolation is that she has a partner who loves her and values her more than life itself. she has a mother-in-law and father-in-law (basically) who adore her and make her feel loved.
and one day, she’s gonna have her own children. and she’s gonna be the most amazing, supportive, loving mother to them. she’s gonna be the mom that she always wanted. and it’s gonna be so healing for her 😭

I hummed along to the tune that played on the speakers, swaying my hips, as I moved around the room helping Matt set up the equipment.
“You don’t have to help, Y/N. You should sit and relax,” Matt said while I handed him a specific cord he was looking for to hook up to one of the speakers.
I shrugged. “I don’t mind. I’ve always been a workhorse so the idea of sitting on my ass while you all are working doesn’t feel right.”
He smiled. “Have I mentioned that you and Noah are perfect for each other?”
“Once or twice,” I shrugged with a hint of a smirk.
There was a faraway look in Matt’s eyes, one I’ve recognized all too well; loneliness.
“Hey,” I nudged him with an elbow. “Everything alright?”
He let out a long breath before adjusting his hat, keeping his eyes cast down at his laptop, the program he uses for mixing the songs up on the screen.
“Promise not to tell the guys? I don’t need them giving me shit for it,” he said.
Immediately I nodded and crossed my heart so he continued. “I see what all of you guys  have and sometimes, a part of me wonders if I’ll ever get anything even close to it.”
I frowned. “Matt, you will! I don’t want to sound cliche, but that person for you is out there. They’ll show up when you stop looking. Neither Noah nor I were looking for a relationship, and look where we are now. It wasn’t an easy or short road by any means but we got here.”
“It might be too late for me,” he grumbled under his breath before clicking away at his computer. Just as my lips moved to say something, Noah’s voice came through the speakers in the room.
“Angel, I love you.”
My cheeks burned as I glanced over at him with a wide smile to which he shrugged.
“I had to test if the microphones worked,” he said.
“Right,” I giggled while walking over to the area of the room that was set up for band rehearsals.
Bad Omens were going on tour in two weeks, the first one since they rebranded themselves with this new era. Everyone was nervous because they wanted to make sure everything went perfectly. Part of me felt sad and guilty that I wasn’t able to go on the first set of shows because Hollow Souls had media planned.
That may be why I kept trying to help out any way I could with the rehearsals; to show Noah and everyone else that I supported them.
However, I did plan on meeting Noah for the last three shows, which seemed to ease the sadness on his face. We’d only ever gone a few days without seeing each other since we got together, so now that we were about to go without seeing each other for nearly two weeks, my heart hurt.
Cheesy, but it was true.
Noah’s hands immediately found my hips and brought me close to him, my hands resting on his chest.
“What’s wrong with Matt?” He nodded behind me.
I played with the strings of his Hereditary sweatshirt. We just watched the movie with Jolly and Astrid last night, and my brain was still swirling with the ending.
“I think he’s starting to feel a little alone. He sees us, Jolly and Astrid, Jesse and Maxine, and starts to feel like he missed his time,” I said under my breath so others wouldn’t hear.
The corner of Noah’s mouth pulled down on a line as he kept his eyes on Matt.
“Maybe the tour will help clear his mind,” he said with a sad sigh.
“Oh, about that,” I pulled the string of his hoodie again to pull his attention to me. “Are you still upset that I'm stealing Lana from you guys?”
He chuckled before squeezing my hips. “No, angel. Hollow Souls need her more than Bad Omens do. Plus, she found a replacement for her so Bryan doesn’t have to do most of the photography. I think it’s Lana’s cousin.”
“Good because Malcolm felt like shit. But we don’t have a full-time photographer and want to get these promo shots out as soon as possible. Lana accepted before she knew about your tour-.”
Noah hushed my ramblings with a gentle kiss to my lips, one that we both smiled into.
“Y/N, it’s alright,” he muttered against my lips.
Staring up into those almond eyes I loved so much, I eventually nodded and patted his chest.
“Okay.”
Linking our fingers together, Noah led me to the other end of the room where Davis was working on filling up the boxes of merch.
“I want to show you the new look we have planned for our stage outfits,” Noah said.
My eyes widened, almost forgetting that the guys talked about changing a lot with this new era. He showed me the pants, tank top, button-up shirt, and jacket; all black. But what kept my attention was at the top of the table, Bad Omens symbols calling to me.
“Ski mask?” I questioned.
Noah smirked while putting it on, those eyes darkening when I sucked in a breath.
“What does the mask represent?” I now asked.
“My vision,” he said while adjusting it.
“Ah, yes the vision,” I emphasized while rolling my eyes playfully.
Noah pointed to his head. “It’s all in my brain.”
“You have a lot going on in there,” I chuckled but kept a careful eye on the mask, assessing it while feeling the burn ignite within.
“When you don’t occupy over 95% of it,” Noah shrugged but then narrowed his eyes. “Is the mask doing it for you, angel?”
Davis tossed down one of the shirts he was folding and began walking away, muttering something under his breath.
“Can’t they wait until I’m out of the room?”
I licked my lips, doing my best to appear not turned on by the image of Noah in the mask.
“Maybe. But I still think you’re missing one thing,” I said with a low voice.
Somehow I could tell he raised a brow. “Yeah?”
Slinking up closer to him, I raked my nails down the exposed skin of his neck while whispering over his lips.
“Those grillz I found hiding in your bathroom drawer,” I nibbled on his bottom lip before walking past him, purposely putting a little sway in my hips knowing he was watching.
For the next few hours, I watched them rehearse the new setlist they created for the tour. I stood next to Matt in his makeshift sound desk, every so often watching what he was doing, and when they started to rehearse The Death of Peace of Mind, I couldn’t help but smirk when I thought back to the memory of hearing the song for the first time.
Noah must have been as well because as he moved in place with the microphone held tight in his grasp, his eyes met mine before winking.
“I miss the way you say my name. The way you bend, the way you break. Your makeup running down your face. The way you fuck, the way you taste,” his angelic voice sang.
“Woo!” I yelled while holding up a finger.
Suddenly a warm hue crept over my face when I realized I had said that out loud and slunk farther down in the chair next to Matt.
“Woo?” He asked with a teasing grin.
“I don’t know,” I shrugged while playing with a piece of lint on my sweatpants. “It just works. Every time I listen to the song, I always add the woo.”
Noah, whose own smirk was wide and prideful, leaned against the mic stand; they had stopped playing with my embarrassing outburst.
“I like it, it’s cute,” he admitted.
“Maybe you should do it on tour,” Folio suggested to Noah with a wiggle of his brows.
Groaning, I gathered up my things before walking up to Noah and kissing him.
“I have to go. I have my appointment with Dr. Poulos. I’ll call you after.”
“Don’t forget about this weekend, angel,” Noah pointed a finger.
I nodded with a pout. “Right, our super secret date that I don’t get any hints for.”
When Noah bid me goodbye with a gentle pat on my ass, Jolly’s voice stopped me before I could leave.
“Hey, Y/N?”
“Hm?” I adjusted the strap of my bag.
He scratched at the large bun of hair on top of his head. “Is your therapist seeing new patients?”
“Are you interested in therapy?” I asked with a raised brow.
“No,” Jolly shook his head with a sigh. “For Astrid. The last couple of weeks, she’s not been herself. I think with the upcoming anniversary of her father's death, she’s taking it hard but won’t talk to me about it.”
My heart sank for one of my best friends. We just hung out last night and I hadn’t noticed anything was wrong with her.
“Shit, I had no idea.”
Jolly set down his guitar. “She hides it very well. I only know bits and pieces about what happened to her father but I think she had someone else to talk about it with, it would help her.”
“Definitely,” I nodded. “I’ll grab a card from Dr. Poulos and put in a good word.”
Jolly placed a kiss on the side of my head. “Thank you.”

NOAH
The songs of birds danced around us as I held tightly on Y/N’s hands, the waves crashing at the pier below us and she clutched something tightly in her chest.
“You didn’t have to buy this for me, you know?”
Even though she tried to chastise me for spending my money on her, I knew from the smile on her face that she was happy to have a new wolf stuffed animal; one that mirrored the one I gave her back on our tour together.
The one Trey threw out of the window of their tour bus.
We spent our entire afternoon at the California Wolf Center, seeing different packs of wolves up close and learning about them. The smile that Y/N had on her face as she bent low in front of the fence to say hello to one of the wolves a few feet away from her made my heart flutter wildly in my chest.
If I didn’t already know that I loved her, I’d probably tell her for the first time at that moment.
After a long drive back into the city, we decided to walk onto the pier for some ice cream.
“I want to take care of you, angel,” I squeezed her hand as I led her towards a bench on the white sand.
We both sat and watched the waves for a few minutes while Y/N read her book. I had my arm wrapped around her, smelling the hint of vanilla in her hair and the floral scent of her perfume as it clung to her skin, and glanced over to the bench across from us. It was an older couple, the man reading a book to his wife, and I cocked my head to the left, something about them oddly familiar.
“Angel,” I rubbed her shoulder.
She hummed, not taking her eyes off the book she was reading. I glanced at the title when she pulled it out of her bag.
The Dare by Harley Laroux.
When I asked what it was about, Y/N’s face turned crimson before waving me off and muttered something about how I wouldn’t like it. But when I read a few sentences over her shoulder, I could see why she blushed.
Something about the girl being bent over the guy’s lap in a movie room and getting spanked repeatedly.
“Y/N,” I said her name this time, pulling her attention away from the book and up to me. “Haven’t we seen them before?”
She followed my gaze over to the older couple and pursed her lips, trying to think if we had.
“We have! In South Carolina. You joined me at that cafe when I went to order all of us coffee that day on tour. They were walking ahead of us.”
Suddenly the light clicked on and I nodded when that day crept into my mind. I’d been so nervous to be alone with Y/N at the time but being so close to her in line and having her scent engulf me for the first time told me that she would sink herself deep inside of me.
“What are the odds,” I muttered with a smile.
“He’s reading a book to her,” Y/N mused.
I dragged my fingers up and down her arm while gazing down at her. “Do you think he’s reading her a dirty book like the one you’re reading?”
She smacked my chest causing an uproar of laughter from me.
“Are you going to get me some ice cream or what?” She raised a brow with a playful smile.
I brushed a kiss along her forehead. “What kind?”
Y/N tapped her chin in mock thought. “I’ll take a fudgsicle, please.”
With a sweet kiss on her lips, I let her by herself with the wolf stuffed animal and book and walked over to the concession stand, noticing a long line already.
It was a cool autumn day and everyone wanted to spend the last few hours of daylight outside. I, however, needed to waste another hour until we were able to head back to my house. As the line moved up slowly, I glanced down at my phone to read the last text conversation in the group chat with my roommates.
Michael: Where are we supposed to stay tonight?
Jesse: I’m staying at Maxine’s and Jolly’s staying with Astrid.
Michael: Oh way to rub it in. I guess I’ll bunk with Malcolm and Chase.
Me: Salem misses you 😂
Michael: I swear, if that cat bites my feet again in the middle of the night, I’m going to drop him off with you guys.
Jolly: Everything is set up, Noah. We’ll be out of the house in an hour.
Jesse: I don’t want to know what you have planned tonight but all I ask is please don’t touch my strawberries. They’re from Matt’s garden.
I laughed while stuffing my phone back into the pocket of my gray sweatshirt and moved forward in line. My hood was up and pulled low over the brim of my hat, making it hard for anyone to recognize me. We’d been fortunate enough all day not to be bothered by fans but now seeing how busy the pier was, I wanted to be extra careful. Y/N and I had yet to make our relationship public and we were hoping to keep it as quiet as long as we could since we were becoming very private people.
As the line shifted again, I noticed the older gentleman was now standing in front of me. With a quick glance back over to the seating on the beach, I saw Y/N still reading her book then realized the older woman was by herself, only to realize that her husband was standing in front of me, muttering something about the prices under his breath.
“That will be $5.95,” the younger woman smiled.
“My lord, how times have changed. What do we expect in this economy?” He said.
I stifled a laugh behind my hand as I rubbed at my jaw. “You’re not kidding.”
The older man patted the pockets of his tan jacket and then his pants. “I seem to have forgotten my wallet. Here, let this young man go ahead, I think my wife has my wallet.”
While reaching into my back pocket, I pulled out my wallet and waved to the worker behind the booth.
“I’ll get it. Can you add a fudgesicle and vanilla cone, please?” I asked with a smile.
As the worker went to work about getting my ice cream, the older man turned to look up at me; literally.
“Oh, my. You’re a tall fella, you must have eaten your vegetables when you were a kid,” the man adjusted his glasses.
“I’m a fan of tomatoes,” I shrugged with a laugh.
“You didn’t have to do that,” he nodded towards the concessions where the worker handed him his two vanilla cones.
“It’s not a problem,” I smiled at the worker after dropping a twenty on the counter, telling her to keep the change.
“You’ve got a name, son?” The older man asked as we both began walking back towards the beach.
“Noah,” I answered after a lick of my ice cream.
The burst of vanilla bean pleasured my taste buds and exploded in my mouth. It reminded me of something I’d like to try later.
“Well, I’ll be,” he chuckled. “That’s my name although I had it a lot longer than you, but-.”
He waved me off but then pointed to the exposed tattoos on my fingers. “So what do you do, Noah? You have those tattoos all over and a cool haircut. Let me guess. The arts?”
I nodded with a grin. “Yes, sir. You hit the nail right on the head! How about you?”
“Ah, what can I say? I know a thing or two about predicting things. And I’ve worked quite a few different jobs in my lifetime. Restored an old house and made an art studio for my sweetheart, even got myself in the paper. But now, the two of us are here on vacation.”
We came to a stop right where the sand and concrete met and Noah smiled while pointing over to the bench I first noticed them.
“That’s my Allie over there. Do you have a sweetheart, young Noah?”
“I do,” I grinned. “She’s sitting right over there, the one with the book and wolf stuffed animal.”
Old Noah’s tired eyes drifted over to where Y/N was sitting, the wind blowing through her hair, and the sight of her looking so at peace made my heart swell.
“You know,” I shifted on my feet. “We’ve actually seen you and your wife before. It was a few years ago at a coffee shop in South Carolina. It’s a little place called Palmieri.”
Old Noah’s eyes widened. “Well, I’ll be. What a small world. There’s no way I’d remember a name like that.”
I licked at the chocolate ice cream that ran down my hand from Y/N’s fudgesicle and shrugged. “It’s a place that means a lot to me.”
“How funny is that?” Old Noah’s chuckle shook his whole small frame before giving me a wink. “If I learned anything over my lifetime, Noah. It’s that fate will always prevail.”
I couldn’t help but make a face at that, only because I was becoming such a private person so it shocked me that this older man could understand parts of my life without giving much away. All of the odds and chances were starting to feel very Twilight Zone. It made me feel vulnerable and shocked that things from the universe were real. Everyone had been saying it ever since I walked off the bus on the first day of the tour and shook her hand for the first time.
Y/N was my soulmate and I was hers.
Old Noah must have caught the look on my face and patted my shoulder. “Don’t go too far in your head, son. It could be hard to get out of.”
“Yeah,” I muttered under my breath.
“Well, all I’ll say is hold your sweetheart close, Noah. A woman like that is hard to come by. I promise, if the two of you treat each other right, you will live the best life together.”
I nodded with a smile. “Thank you, sir.”
Old Noah took a few slow steps before glancing back toward me. “Thank you for being so kind, Noah. You don’t see that much anymore. Have a great rest of your day.”
“You too.”
I made sure to watch as he made it back to his wife, slowly sitting down next to her and handing her the ice cream cone. There was something in the way she smiled at him; almost as if she was trying to remember something.
Then, I glanced over to Y/N, who still had her face buried in her book with a deep crimson hue covering her cheeks to the tips of her ears. Whatever she was reading in that book had her flustered in ways that made her pull at the collar of her shirt and shift in her spot on the bench. My eyes cast downward to her wrist, the metal chain catching the setting sun and I peeked down at my own. A sudden flash of a hospital bed appeared in my mind but was gone just as quickly.
Shaking it off, I reached Y/N and handed her the fudgesicle.
“Thank you, mochi,” she beamed at me after setting her book down.
We ate in silence for a few moments until I noticed a strand of hair falling into her face, nearly into the ice cream, so I brushed it away and tucked it behind her ear.
“Your hair. It was going to get sticky.”
She left a kiss on my cheek, the butterflies in my stomach having a whirlwind of a time.
“You’re always taking care of me, Noah. Are you going to get ice cream out of my hair even when we’re old and gray?” Y/N asked.
I pressed a cold kiss to her forehead. “That’s the plan.”
Old and gray.
“How do you think I’d look old and gray?” I wondered after finishing off my ice cream cone.
“Oh, handsome as ever and wearing a black cardigan. I bet you’ll still have the Levi cut,” she mockingly teased, resting her head on my shoulder.
The sounds of the waves crashing ashore and laughter from the families and variety of couples brought a weird sense of calm to my ever-racing mind and heart. I did my best to heed Old Noah’s advice to not get so far in my own mind and right now, with Y/N by my side, it made it easier. The last couple of years hadn’t been easy for either of us, especially the times we almost lost each other due to our own fucked up style of communicating. But because of therapy, we were learning and growing.
When I watched a couple, no younger than us, splash each other in the water, I was reminded of a time, long ago, when Y/N and I did the same.
"If you were a bird, what bird would you be?" She asked when she came to a stop in front of me.
"Well," I ran a hand over my chin to show I was thinking deeply about this question. "According to the fanbase, they see me as a duck so I guess that."
"I love that! Oh, you know what would be funny?" She grinned.
I shrugged. "No, but I have a feeling you'll tell me."
"When you scream to Dethrone, you should be funny by saying this is dethrone you quacks, instead of fucks. It'd be a way of showing the fans you read everything online," she deadpanned before falling into a fit of giggles and looking up to the darkening skies above her.
Seeing how much that small joke made her laugh made me make a mental note to say that next tour.
"What about you? What bird would you be?"
"A crow," she answered so fast, almost as if she thought about this question in depth before. "They’re mysterious, they’re misunderstood and always take care of the ones they love.”
I hummed with her answer. "I can see that. You'd make a lovely crow."
She bumped her shoulder with me as the waves crashed harder around us. "You'd make a pretty cool duck. And we'd be bird friends."
"Well," I glided my hands through the water. "If you're a bird, then I'm a bird."
“Angel,” I asked, pulling her attention away from her book.
“Hm?”
“If we were birds, would we be bird lovers? Because last time, we were bird friends,” I said.
The corners of Y/N's lips curled up in a smile as if the memory was replaying in her mind like a movie.
“We’d be the best bird lovers,” she breathed with a kiss on my lips.
Wrapping my arm around her, we let the silence fall between us again, truly enjoying this moment together. Ever since we both released new albums, our work schedule had been packed with constant media or preparing for the upcoming tour. This was a rare weekend where we all had off so neither of us was in a rush to leave.
Well, until I got a text from Jolly letting me know that the house was empty.
“I think there’s a fireworks show tonight at the pier,” Y/N said while looking at her phone.
Fireworks at the pier.
“Noah! Stop!” Y/N giggled while wrapping her arms around my neck.
“What?” I stopped spinning. “Let you go?”
She shrieked as I nearly dropped her. “No, you idiot! Don’t let me go!”
As if I had just been slapped in the face, I sat up straighter when everything clicked into the constantly moving puzzle pieces inside my mind.
“It’ll all connect, everything!” I muttered while chewing on my bottom lip.
“Conjuring magic there?”
Y/N’s giggles snapped my head towards hers as I did myself to calm my thoughts so she could understand.
“Remember at breakfast when Jolly and I were telling you our future plans for Bad Omens?”
She nodded, a pretty confused look on her face. “Yes?”
“The comics, the music videos, all of it. It’ll connect,” I rambled on my idea when she still looked at me confused.
“So, the covers would be what ifs?” Y/N asked after a moment.
I snapped my finger with an eager nod. “Yes, exactly!”
There was still hesitation on her face as she turned to face me head-on, fingers meddling with the chain around her wrist.
“Just Pretend? Don’t you think it kind of gives away the elusiveness of everything? Of us?” Y/N wondered.
“Not at all, angel. Let me explain,” I linked our fingers together and then went about spending the next couple of minutes explaining my grand idea.

Oh. My. Gods.
I came to a halt in the middle of Noah’s living room, all of my breath stolen by the bright and colorful sight in front of me. On every living room and kitchen surface were bouquets; of different sizes, colors, and kinds. On the mantle of the fireplace was a large purple bouquet of Violets. On the end table next to the couch was one of blue orchids. Spread out along the kitchen island were three large vases of pale pink peonies. Besides the flowers, candles were lit and spread out throughout the open space.
Words felt foreign on my lips as I looked at all the other array of flowers, feeling the tears well up in the corners of my eyes and my throat burned when I tried not to let out a sob.
“Noah,” I choked while turning to look at him. “What is all of this?”
He was leaning against the front door with an apprehensive look on his face. Immediately, I could tell he was nervous with how tense his shoulders were.
“We never spent Valentine’s Day together,” Noah stood up straighter and cleared his throat when it cracked.
“But it’s March,” you giggled.
He rubbed the back of his neck. “I know. But I wanted to give this to you. I’m trying to make up for our lost time together.”
I walked over to the bouquets of Violets on the mantel and breathed in the sweet scent. “Do each of these have a significance?”
This seemed to break Noah out of his nervous stupor because he took off his hood, shaking his hair before coming over to me.
“I’m glad you asked, angel,” he smiled. “The orchids and peonies represent love and admiration in Asia. The violets, also known as the Sumire, represent life and sincerity. Its small size and delicate nature represent deep affection for someone. These flowers are very important in Japan.”
You hummed while plucking one out of the face and twirling it between your fingers.
“Can you guess which ones are my favorite?”
When Noah shook his head, I plucked another one from the vase this time tucking it behind his ear.
“The violets because my affection for you runs deep. But I think you already knew that,” you pecked his lips.
Noah gave me a bashful smile while casting his eyes down at our feet, a crimson hue coloring his face. So I cupped his cheek, forcing him to look at me, and I could feel the nervousness almost burn my palm.
“Mochi,” you breathed. “You’re more nervous now than when you showed me my art studio.”
He rubbed at his cheek before motioning to the flowers around us. “I’ve never done this before. Dates and being romantic. I guess I want everything to be perfect. You deserve it.”
I brought the flower that was held between my fingers up to his nose, brushing it over the freckles there which in turn, made Noah scrunch up his nose with a quiet chuckle.
The sight of him like this, bashful and giggling, made me weak in the knees so I kept myself up by grasping at the pocket of his sweatshirt.
“Noah, it’s just me. You don’t have to do all of this or be nervous. You know I’d be perfectly fine with a simple rose stem.”
“It’s not just you, angel. It’s all of you, everything I do now is for you. I want to make you happy,” he said while locking his hands behind my neck.
“You do make me happy, mochi,” you professed while playing with the flower behind his ear.
“I know,” he nodded assuringly. “But I-I didn’t have a chance to express how much I love you and want to take care of you. You mean so much to me and whatever I can do to prove that to you, I will.”
His smile was slanted slightly and his cheeks were still flushed as he twirled a piece of hair around his lock fingers before locking them behind my neck again; keeping me in place.
Not that I minded. I had no reason to leave.
“I know. I love you for it,” I kissed those lips that always tasted light and sweet, like honey. All I could taste now was how unbitter it all was.
There was no goodbye.
All him, all sweet.
“You’re adorable like this, mochi. Bashful every time we kiss.”
He playfully rolled his eyes before capturing my lips again. “Laugh it up you little brat. I need your lips like I need oxygen.”
Little brat.
Those two words made an inferno burn deep within my core and I let out a soft moan. Titling up my chin with slight defiance at him, I gave him a teasing wink.
“Why don’t I show you how much of a little brat I can be?”
My breath fanned over his lips, a tease to his words, then when something dark flashed across his eyes I knew that I had less than three seconds to create some distance between us. My laughter echoed through the space of Noah’s house as his loud footsteps chased after me. I ran from his living room, through the kitchen, and into his bedroom with his tall presence hot on my ass.
I wanted him on me in more ways than one.
Once inside his bedroom, I stayed on one side of the bed while Noah stood on the other, both of our chests rising and falling trying to catch our breath. His hair had become disheveled in our chase and it was falling into his face, him not making a move to brush it back. Those dark eyes stared me down through the even darker tendrils and my stomach flipped when Noah cocked his head to the side.
“I’m waiting,” he held out his hands to the side.
I raised a brow. “For what?”
“For you to show me how bratty you can be,” the speed at which his tongue snapped out to wet his lips was astonishing.
A devious smirk pulled at the corner of my mouth before I made quick work of stripping out of my clothes, letting them pool at my feet. I stood in front of Noah in nothing but a pair of crimson panties.
“Angel,” Noah’s voice rumbled deep in his chest.
“What?” I shrugged, innocently.
These were his favorite pair of panties. He always raved at how they stood out against my skin tone.
“I can smell you from here,” his nostrils flared.
“You cannot,” I scoffed while placing my hands on my hips, purposely cocking my left hip out.
Noah didn’t say anything, instead, he hooked a finger and beckoned me over to him. I shook my head with a wicked gleam in my eyes.
“I’m actually kind of tired,” I stretched my arms wide, faking a yawn. “I’m going to take a shower.”
As I stepped around the bed, Noah’s quick reflexes met me halfway causing me to scream and I jumped up on the bed to get away from him. I made it two steps on top of his bed until his strong arms wrapped around me from behind, tackling me to the bed.
“Angel,” Noah grunted while thrusting his hips into mine. “You’re such a tease.”
I bit back a moan. “I’m not doing anything.”
“Really?” His long finger grazed over the lacey material of my panties, teasing my clit.
This time I was unable to hold back the moan especially when his finger slipped underneath my panties to now gather my arousal to my clit. Noah’s teeth grazed over my collarbone, tasting me and humming in approval.
Until some noise from his computer went off and made him groan before climbing off the bed.
“What is that?” I asked while resting up on my elbows.
Noah clicked on his mouse a few times. “Orie wants me to get in a game with him.”
Suddenly, a thought came to mind and I tip-toed over to Noah, wrapping my arms around his chest from behind.
“Play a game with him,” I breathed against the shell of his ear.
He turned his head to glance at me over his shoulder, holding my hands against his chest. “Y/N, I can tell him no. It’s fine.”
I shook my head with a wink. “Play a game with him, Noah. Make sure the camera is off and strip down.”
His cheeks turned a deep shade of red, almost mirroring the color of my panties before I urged him to follow my orders with a swift pat on his ass. While he accepted the game invite from Orie, Noah stripped out of his clothes and sat in his computer chair.
“Don’t forget the headset and these,” I said while rummaging around the box underneath his bed before tossing one of the objects over at him.
I had a box of almost the same things underneath my own bed back at home.
Noah caught what I threw him mid-air, the golden lenses catching the light from the LED lights in the room.
“I haven’t worn glasses in months, Y/N. Why would I need them now?” He questioned with a slight slant on his lips while twirling the gold round glasses between his fingers.
Rolling my eyes, I stuffed the box back underneath his bed.
“Wait,” he pointed a finger. “How long has that been under there? And why were my old glasses in there?”
“Noah, please,” I semi-wined while running a hand through my hair. “Can you just-?”
With a wave of a hand to the glasses, he eventually understood why I wanted him to put them on.
“A little role play?” He teased while putting them on.
I sucked in a breath at the vision of him in front of me. I’d seen streams and pictures of him wearing these glasses with his long hair and I thought he was breathtaking in them.
Now with his short Levi haircut and all of his tattoos on full display for me, Noah somehow managed to be even more gorgeous.
With the headset on, he fell onto the computer chair and spoke into the microphone. “Hey, Orie. Yeah, I got a little bit to play a round.”
Once I slipped out of my panties and tossed them on Noah’s pillow, I held the black rose sex toy in one hand and when I reached the corner of the bedroom where Noah had his computer set up, I froze in place. His cock was thick, almost standing straight up with how he was sitting and I bit my lip when I watched precum ooze out of the slit.
I noticed he was already in some game with Orie, his fingers working fast on the keys and mouse, so I pressed a finger to my lips.
“Be quiet now, Noah. We don’t need to let Orie know what we’re doing,” I whispered while straddling him on his chair so he was able to see the computer monitor.
“Y/N,” Noah warned.
Ignoring him, I ripped open the condom and slowly rolled it over his cock which made him let out a low noise from his chest.
“Shh,” I hushed while clamping a hand over his mouth. “Not so loud.”
My stomach burned with arousal, igniting a part of me I never knew existed. My sex life had improved with Noah and I was able to find out new kinks. What we were about to do, sex with someone possibly hearing was new. I knew that Noah wouldn’t let Orie hear anything but even the thought of him hearing something turned me on.
“Is that Y/N?” Orie’s voice sounded from Noah’s headset.
I winked as Noah’s eyes darted from the computer monitor to me. “She’s yelling at Salem. We have him here tonight and I guess he’s being too loud or something.”
“Wow,” I mouthed, proud of how well he came up with that lie.
With his hands preoccupied, I adjusted myself over his cock and locked eyes with him as I sunk deep on to him. My groan caught in my throat at the fullness of Noah’s cock in my pussy. It felt fresh and new every time.
I cringed a little from the pain due to my endometriosis but as soon as I started moving up and down, the pain began to subside. Noah’s bottom lip was caught between his teeth as he tried his best to keep his attention on his computer while I rode him, slow at first.
“Angel,” he let out quietly through gritted teeth.
Ignoring him, I flipped on the black rose, the vibrations sounding loud in the quiet room and when I touched my clit with it I wasn’t able to keep that moan quiet.
“Fuck,” I dragged out while leaning my head back.
“What’s that?” Orie’s voice asked through Noah’s headset again.
“It's so good,” my body writhed against Noah’s.
He quickly said goodbye to Orie before exiting the game and ripping off the headset. My squeals bounced off the walls when one of Noah’s hands snaked around my throat, using his thumb to hold my chin straight.
“Such a fucking brat,” he hissed when I rolled my hips over his cock. “What if he heard you? No one is allowed to hear those pretty little moans. Just me.”
I whined when he pulled the rose away from my clit, immediately missing the friction.
“I didn’t-,” I was unable to finish my words because Noah wrapped his other arm around my back to pull me closer to his chest, the head of his cock hitting that spot.
He bit down on my breast, right above my nipple, and I cried out in pleasure.
“I should punish you,” he rasped, voice gone with lust, and began pulling his cock out.
“No, no. I’m sorry,” I shook my head and desperately tried to stop him.
Noah raised a brow while tightening his grip around my throat and pushed his cock in deeper. “You’re sorry?”
I did my best to nod in his grasp. “Y-yes. Please, I need you to move again.”
He hummed and buried his face in the crook of my neck, breathing me in. His pace didn’t increase, instead, it was even slower than before. It was as if he wasn’t even moving and I let out a groan of frustration.
“Do you know how long I wanted to fuck you in this chair, Y/N?”
Noah flicked his tongue over my nipple. “I’ve sat in this chair and thought of you so many times. My hand wrapped around my cock and pictures of you up on my screen.”
My stomach flipped at his words, the image he painted beautifully on the canvas of my mind.
“Were you wearing these glasses?” I motioned to them with a raise of my brows.
“This doing it for you, angel? My glasses?” He chuckled before moving over to the other nipple, mimicking the same actions as before with his tongue.
Every one of my senses was burned alive. It was like this every time Noah and I were connected; our souls becoming one.
My nails scraped along his scalp as I pulled on his hair, yanking his head back so he could gaze up at me, our pace always in sync.
“You could wear a mask and it would still do it for me,” I moaned while rolling my hips against him.
“I can make that happen,” he promised before crashing his lips to mine in a hungry kiss.
It was one of pure adrenaline, his tongue fighting mine for dominance and his teeth sunk deep into my bottom lip. I shook in his embrace when I felt the vibrations of the black rose against my clit again.
“No-Noah,” I cried in ecstasy when the familiar heat spread to my core.
“Good girl,” he praised in between devouring my mouth. “Say my name again.”
“Noah,” I sang when my orgasm was on the crest, begging me to let go.
His cock was fucking into me with absolutley no remorse. The chair beneath us was creaking and I was sure we’d break it at any given moment. My breasts were pressed tightly against his chest and the sharp metal of his chain digging into my skin added more blissful pain. My body was pulled tight with tension, knowing any moment I would snap.
“You know what to do, angel,” Noah spoke huskily as his cock twitched inside of me when he smacked my ass. “Don’t make me fucking ask.”
Locking eyes with him, I cried out my orgasm as my body writhed in his tight grasp, and Noah created some space between us to glance down where our bodies connected. It was wet, more than usual, and his eyes snapped away from the soaked condom and lap.
“Angel,” his voice was deep, dropping an octave. “Did you just squirt?”
I couldn’t speak; my orgasm took every single ounce of energy out of me. Instead, I nodded while resting my forehead against his chest and smacked away the vibrator that was still held against my clit. The aftershocks were too much and I was afraid of crumbling in his embrace.
“So,” Noah grunted with a thrust.
“Fucking.”
Thrust.
“Hot.” He growled out his release, spilling into the condom, and held me tighter against him.
Gentle fingers grazed up and down my spine, as we both came down from our highs and I hummed in delight when Noah’s lips pressed a kiss to my forehead.
“I don’t think I could ever sit in this chair again without thinking of you,” he mused with a light chuckle.
Sitting up straighter, I tapped his cheek. He was still wearing those glasses and it made my pussy clench over his slightly limp cock.
“I wonder what else we can fuck on in your house to make you think of me,” I joked before climbing off of him.
Noah’s fingers gripped tighter into the flesh of my hips to keep me in place and he winked. “Let’s find out.”
The next morning, I woke to gentle kisses down my spine and I smiled in my sleep haze.
“Mm, good morning,” I grumbled into the pillow as I tucked it deep under my chin.
“How’d you sleep?”
Noah’s gruff and sleep-filled voice made my stomach twinge but then I internally groaned when the pain from last night started to creep back into my bones.
“I’m still sore after last night,” I sighed while turning over in bed to face him. He was freshly showered, with water droplets clinging to his hair, and wore clean clothes.
“I wasn’t too rough, was I?” He asked while brushing away the mess of hair from my face.
I shook my head with a lazy smile. “Not at all. I wanted all of that.”
To reassure Noah, I kissed his lips tenderly; my essence still lingered.
“Hungry?” He asked after pulling away.
“Starved! Someone kept me up all night,” I exaggerated while sitting up in bed, clutching the sheet to my naked body. “I’m going to shower quickly.”
Ten minutes later, I stepped into the kitchen just in time to see Noah. I could see the blood rushing to his soft and full cheeks, as he continued talking with the guys who had gotten home. The mortification of knowledge was evident.
Jolly, Michael, and Jesse.
“What’s going on?” I asked while stuffing my hands in my hoodie pocket.
Taking a closer look at Jolly, a bright red material that was hanging loosely on his shoulder caught my attention and I stifled my gasp behind my hand.
“Why was your swimsuit top hanging from the ceiling fan?” He questioned.
My eyes darted to Noah. “I thought you said you cleaned up!”
“I might have missed a few things,” he held up his hands in defense.
I ran inside, giggles bouncing off the walls, as Noah chased me and nearly slipped on the kitchen floor due to his wet feet.
“We can’t fuck in the Jacuzzi, Noah! The guys use it too,” I stood on the other side of the large kitchen island with my hands on my hips.
Noah wore a wicked smirk. “They won’t know, angel.”
I untied my swimsuit top and threw it up in the air, catching it on the ceiling fan in the kitchen.
“If you catch me, you can fuck me where ever you want.”
Michael came down the stairs with a troubled look in his eyes. “Why is there a folder on the computer in the studio labeled Y/N private?”
“Oi vey,” I pinched my eyes shut while Noah rubbed my back.
“You didn’t open it did you?” He asked.
“No,” Michael shook his head but then his shoulders dropped. “Do I even want to know?”
“Louder! Say it louder, angel!”
Noah grunted as he thrusted his cock into my pussy with such force, I screamed into the microphone.
“Noah! Don’t stop. Please!”
“Who do you belong to?” He demanded to know, sinking his teeth deep into my shoulder.
“YOU!” I cried out with my orgasm.
Jolly sighed while falling onto the couch and rubbed a hand over his tired eyes.
“Everything alright?” I questioned while sitting next to him.
He gave a half shrug. “Last night was rough for Astrid. She kept waking up with nightmares.”
My heart dropped, knowing that her father's death was bothering her more than she would admit to anyone; even Jolly.
“Has she talked with Dr. Poulos?”
“No,” he ran his hands over his long thighs. “She told me she’ll reach out when she’s ready.”
I patted his shoulder. “I’ll stop by Fika today and chat with her. I’m sure she’d like that.”
Jolly smiled. “Thanks, Y/N.”
The sound of rummaging around the fridge and a loud gasp made me turn my attention towards Jesse, who was holding up an empty crate.
“My strawberries!” He exasperated while running a hand through his curls. “These were from Matt’s garden. Did you guys have to eat all of them?”
Noah and I shared a look. “Sorry, man. They were delicious.”
“Noah,” I breathed while pulling on my bindings.
The cool granite beneath my warm skin brought shills to my body. I was laid spread out wide for him on the kitchen counter, blindfolded, and hands tied up above my head.
I couldn’t see him but felt when he bit into the fruit, its juices spilling over my clit, then his warm tongue was there to clean it up.
“Fucking divine,” Noah groaned.
Jesse tossed the empty container in the trash before grumbling something under his breath while sitting on the couch opposite Jolly and I. Noah was finishing breakfast. When Jolly shifted in his spot next to me, my heart leaped in my throat when I saw what he had in his hand.
“The mask, huh?” He smirked. “Didn’t think you’d be into the yellow one.”
“NOAH SEBASTIAN!” I bellowed. “Did you just stuff the mask in the cushion hoping no one would find it?”
He didn’t respond, simply humming along to the tune in his head.
Michael began cleaning up the scattered mess on the coffee table when something fell out of the small black bag in his hand.
A set of shiny grillz.
“So good,” I murmured while running my hands through Noah’s hair as I lay on the coffee table.
His dark almond eyes looked up at me as he continued the onslaught on my pussy with his tongue. The richness of his eyes stood out against the stark contrast of the yellow mask he wore. When he grazed his teeth over my clit, I hissed in slight pain.
“Shit, mochi!”
“Sorry, angel,” he whipped at his mouth, the shiny grillz on his teeth catching the light overhead.
The slight pain turned to arousal at the sight of him and I pushed his head back towards my clit. “Don’t fucking stop.”
“Are those,” Jolly leaned closer to Michael. “Are those your show grillz?”
“Fuck, they still look wet!” Michael dropped them to the table.
I groaned while sinking further into the couch, hiding my face behind my hands.
“Alright,” Noah sighed while setting down the spatula and I noticed his ears were beet red. “You guys are embarrassing Y/N! So I missed a few things, sue me.”
“I’d like to,” Jesse grumbled while crossing his arms. “Ate all my strawberries.”
“It’s alright,” I reassured them with a smile. “I’m sorry about the mess.”
Micahel stomped up the stairs. “I need to take a shower to scrub out the images of you and Y/N fucking all over the house.”
Standing up from the couch, I walked over to Noah and laid a soft kiss on his warm cheeks. “I think after breakfast we should head to the farmers market. Buy Jesse some replacement strawberries.”
“Might as well invite Matt,” Noah suggested.
I shook my phone in my hand. “Already on it.”
As I helped Noah set up the table with the breakfast spread he cooked, neither of us heard the conversation between Jolly and Jesse; who were watching us with a smile.
“You do know that when she moves in, it’s going to be like this all the time right?” Jesse chuckled.
“Yeah, but look how happy Noah is. He deserves this,” Jolly said.

NOAH
I bounced on the soles of my feet with excitement as I waited in the lobby, hoping to find that familiar face in the crowd of people. Y/N was joining me on the road for the last week of the tour and after being away from her for two weeks, my soul was yearning to feel complete again. This was the longest we’d gone without seeing each other and all of our Facetime calls paled in comparison to actually seeing her beautiful face.
Throughout the crowd, a spot of aquamarine hair rushed past, only to stop when she recognized it was me.
“Hey, Bryan said you were handing out the key cards?” The woman adjusted the camera bag over her shoulder while gripping her suitcase with her free hand.
Our photographer fill-in for Lana.
She tried to give me a small smile but knowing what she’d gone through the last two weeks, outside of work, I couldn’t help but feel a small pang of guilt for what I was about to do. It’d been a plan of mine and the guy's since the other day, hoping it would fix the issue that had been plaguing her.
“Yeah,” I pulled out a familiar keycard, one I had just handed to Matt moments ago, and gave it to her. “We’re thinking of dinner and karaoke tonight if you’re interested.”
She tucked a strand of blue hair behind her ear. “Y/N’s coming, right?”
I couldn’t stop the goofy smile that spread to my lips. “Yeah, she should be here any minute.”
“Cool, count me in. No offense but I’m sick of all the testosterone,” she giggled before giving me a wave and heading over to the elevators.
“If this plan doesn’t work, I’m going to lock them up in a closet to resolve whatever they have going on,” I muttered under my breath.
“Talking to yourself, mochi?”
Swirling on my heels, I gazed down at Y/N who was smiling and wearing the communal gray Chief sweater.
“Hi, angel,” I quickly wrapped my arms around her and breathed in her familiar scent.
Y/N buried her face in my chest and her hands dug at the back of my shirt. “I’ve missed you.”
Tilting her chin up, I left a deep kiss on her lips, not caring if anyone around us saw.
“I missed you too,” I brushed my nose along hers, and with my arm wrapped around her, I began leading her toward the elevators.
“You dyed your hair?” I asked as we stopped in front of the closed doors.
She wrapped her arms around my midsection and squeezed. “My roots were coming in and I needed it to look fresh for the photos. But speaking of hair colors. The girl you were talking to, was that-?”
I nodded with a sigh. “Yep. They’re still not talking though.”
As we stepped onto the elevator and the doors closed behind us, I held onto Y/N’s suitcase as she looked up at me, still wrapped in my free arm.
“Did you do what I suggested?” Y/N asked.
“Yep, they’re sharing a room right now. So if we hear yelling they’re most likely working things out,” I said while stepping off the elevator and heading towards the hotel room.
“YOU’RE INSUFFERABLE!”
“REALLY? LAST TIME I CHECKED, YOU LOVED IT WHEN MY LIPS WERE ON YOURS!”
Y/N came to a stop in front of our door and pointed to the room next to ours. “I’m guessing that’s Matt’s room?”
“Yep,” I popped the ‘P’ as the door clicked open.
Once we were inside, I let Y/N get settled with unpacking her things as I lounged on the bed to watch with a loving gaze. Sometimes I couldn’t believe that after everything we’d gone through to get to this point, Y/N still wanted me.
I fucked up; a lot.
I made mistakes but those mistakes didn’t make me.
I fought with myself, with her, with others, to finally get here. To finally have Y/N as mine and secretly in that moment, I vowed to continue to prove to her how much I loved her and how much she meant to me.
A buzzing on the bed pulled my gaze away from Y/N’s beauty and saw her phone lit up with a message.
“Can you check it for me?” She asked before stepping into the bathroom.
Mom: Y/N, I’ve been trying to get in touch with you for the last week. Call me. I have something important to talk to you about. You can’t be busy with this job of yours so call me back.
“It’s your mom,” I informed with furrowed brows. “She’s been trying to get in touch with you?”
Y/N sighed while plopping down on the bed next to me. “Yeah. It’s probably she got a new job or met some new guy that she's going to get bored with after a week. It’s nothing important.”
I’d known Y/N for years now and I also knew when she was keeping something from me.
I brushed away the hair that fell loose from her bun. “Is there something else going on? You know you can talk to me, angel.”
Her eyes shone as she gazed up at me, laying a soft kiss on my palm. “I know, mochi. I know. I just don’t feel like getting lectured right now. I’m finally here with you, I don’t want her to ruin it.”
“Alright,” I eventually nodded, and for the time being ignored the way her face fell when she deleted the text message from her mom.
Y/N motioned to the wall opposite of us, where Matt’s room was.
“Do you think they’ll hook up?”
I snorted a laugh. “What’s with you setting up our friends?”
She shrugged. “I just want him to be happy. I want our friends to have what we have.”
“So you’re saying you’re happy?” I rested my forehead against hers, breathing in the familiar scent of her peach body wash.
“I am very happy,” she breathed before kissing my lips. “What about you?”
“Very,” a kiss to her lips.
“Very.”
Another kiss.
“Happy.”
Another kiss.
When her giggles filled the room, my heart stuttered in my chest. “I love you, Y/N.”
She twirled a strand of my hair around her finger. “I love you too, Noah.”
I laid there with her in my arms for a long time, the never-ending silence becoming a bit of comfort to us. We could lay next to each other for hours, not saying a word to each other, but we both knew how much we loved each other.
“Oh before I forget,” Y/N removed herself from my tight grasp, and her voice carried from the bathroom. “I brought some facemasks. I thought we could stay in and relax. I know you have a long day of rehearsals and the show tomorrow.”
Facemasks.
Hotel room.
Suddenly there was a vice grip around my throat, caging in the oxygen I was desperate to take back. Its large claws dug into my jugular, making the room tilt on its axis. I couldn’t center on my breathing, I couldn’t focus on anything in front of me.
“I didn’t bring any nail polish this time,” Y/N’s giggle barely broke through the haze. “And I can’t braid your hair.”
Nearly stumbling over the suitcases on the ground, I rushed past Y/N just as she stepped out of the bathroom and let the door to the hotel room slam behind me. The air in the hallway of the hotel was thicker, nearly making it impossible to catch my breath. The tight grip around my lungs and heart would not let up.
"I know what I feel. It’s not you, it’s me, Noah."
I shook my head furiously when the past began to creep in.
"No. Fuck, angel! Stop! The future hasn't even happened yet. Please, don't-what do you need to happen?"
Y/N’s bottom lip trembled as a broken sob clawed its way through her throat. "I-I think we need to remain friends right now. I can't-I can't get lost in you, Noah. It's so fucking easy to. I think we need space."
How she looked that night, moments before leaving me, continued to haunt me.
"I-I don't fucking want that, Y/N. I just want you!” My voice bellowed.
"Noah, please understand where I'm coming from," she begged.
"Angel-I. Please, just-," I eventually sighed in defeat.
Her broken eyes shined with her tears. "I'm going to head out."
I dug my palms into my eyes as I stood in the middle of the hallway, trying to stop letting my mind fall back into the past. All it took was two fucking words and I was back to that shell of a man I used to be.
Face masks.
I immediately flooded to where I was before all this. I felt like a scolded child with aging wounds.
Embarrassing.
Why did I just do that? Why did I leave the room for air? When the air I needed was back in the room? The emotional hurricane was in full force today. On the surface, it’s joking and light, but then it wants to pull me into the vortex. With each jibe, I feel the winds clipping wings of my own. I can’t allow it.
I refused.
I won’t circle the fucking drain. I began to feel my body relax and my voice flowed out calmly, instead of me being pulled in.
I decided I needed to inhale the air I could never survive without.
“Keaton,” I cried softly while rubbing at the ache in my chest. “I need you, man. Please tell me everything will be alright.”
With the feeling of someone holding me upright, a soft breeze blew through my hair in the middle of the hotel hallway. A door down the hall opened, catching my attention immediately was a man wearing an all too familiar band t-shirt.
Too Close To Touch.
Along with the soft touch encasing me, I let out a quiet hum as a haunting flow of lyrics poured out of me.
“If you still want to sing, fill in the blanks we need. You can do it through me while you're gone.”
Then as quickly as those arms wrapped around me, they were gone and I felt alone in the hallway. But not before a soft voice whispered in my ear.
It’s okay.
Knocking on the hotel room door, realizing I didn’t have my key, I saw Y/N’s dark eyes staring daggers into me. All that inner rage inside those beautiful eyes made the guilt for walking away from her eat away at me even further; I deserved it.
When the frustration builds and I think I might explode, I have to remember to take a deep breath. So many times I’ve wanted to say things, or say anything. It was a long process with learning how to deal with it.
Her nostrils flared as I gently walked past her into the hotel room. Y/N needed to hear my explanation. I was ready to move forward. Reaching for a life I so badly yearned for with her. Here she was, in front of me. She was mine and she loved me.
Say something, you idiot!
“Angel-.” I began.
“What the fuck was that?” She whipped her head back at the door.
Oh shit, she’s mad.
The voice in my head didn’t sound like mine. Instead, it sounded like an old friend.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have walked out on you like that. It’s just when you mentioned face masks and braids, my mind went back to a place, a darker place,” my hands shook as I stuffed them in my sweater pocket.
The anger in Y/N’s eyes vanished when it clicked for her what moment I was talking about.
“Mochi,” her voice wavered. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for you to go back to that night. I know how hard it was for you, for both of us. I just thought we could recreate that night, the positives, and make up for the negatives.”
I linked our hands together to pull her into my chest, laying a chaste kiss on her lips.
“I’m ready to create many positive memories with you, angel.”
“Good,” she gave a small nod. “But next time something like this bothers you, please talk to me. Because you can't just run from sadness when it gets too hard to stay.”
“Really?” I snorted. “You’re using my lyrics on me?”
“Did it work?”
I wanted to kiss that hopeful smile off her face.
Instead, I winked and then pressed my hips into her, my cock brushing along her pussy. “You tell me.”
“You know,” her fingers danced through my hair. “I do miss a few things about that night.”
I cocked a brow. “Yeah?”
Y/N stood on her tiptoes to brush her lips across mine. “I missed how I rode your cock while pulling on your braids.”
I shook my hair in her face. “You can still pull, angel.”
With one quick scoop, I had her in the air for a few moments before her body fluttered to the bed like the angel she was; her giggles bouncing off the walls. I was on her in a flash, attacking her lips with mine. Ravishing them like a man starved, wanting to lick up every last drop of the meal put out in front of him. Her tongue always molded perfectly with mine and Y/N hummed in delight when she tasted me.
“Shit, mochi,” she moaned while arching her neck back as I attacked the sweet spot between her shoulder and neck.
My cock twitched underneath my sweats and I rutted into her thigh. “Angel, I missed you.”
She reciprocated the feelings by kissing me again and slipping her hands underneath my sweater to drag her nails down the tattoos on my stomach. I shivered under the touch, loving the feeling of the burn her nails left behind, and I stripped her of her clothes, me following suit—all the while our lips never left each other.
Her skin on mine felt like the wings of an angel; soft and almost incandescent.
Her lips were like honey, sweet and sticky with gloss.
The arousal that I gathered with my fingers and sucked clean had a lingering tangy taste, something I found myself wanting more of.
A scent and taste that was distinctively Y/N.
“I love you,” I vowed in between kisses while I pumped my fingers in and out of her, using my other hand to lock her hands above her head.
“I love you,” she keened when my knuckle brushed over that spot.
The last time we shared a hotel bed, it ended with two broken souls, desperate to be molded back together. They spent months yearning to find each other again and now that they were connected again, we both refused to let something so minuscule as face masks ruin it.

“Noah, stop!” I giggled when his lips brushed along the shell of my ear.
“Please, angel,” his gruff voice begged as his arms wrapped around me from behind.
I turned in his embrace, linking my fingers behind his neck, and marveled at those almond eyes I adored so much.
“No, Folio and Michelle are going to be here any minute,” I reminded him.
Noah adjusted the glasses on his nose with a pout. He woke up this morning with irritated eyes and not wanting to make it worse with contacts, he opted to wear his glasses.
Not that I minded, it reminded me of the time in his computer chair.
The tour ended a few days ago and now that all of us were back home, we decided to meet up at the local aquarium so Folio could finally introduce us to his girlfriend. But Noah, however, had other plans; ones that involved us sneaking into the backseat of his SUV so he could fuck my throat.
Tempting.
“He’s been talking about introducing us to Michelle for two months now, are we sure today is the day?” Noah asked.
I shrugged while pressing a kiss to his cheek. “I think so. Look how nervous he looks!”
Both of us gazed over to the other end of the lobby of the aquarium where Folio stood alone, hands shaking at his sides. We could practically see his heart jumping out of his chest due to his nerves.
“He’s never been this nervous before,” Noah murmured.
“Can you blame him? Look what she’s about to walk into,” I waved a hand at our large group.
Chase and Malcolm were looking at the large tank in the lobby that housed a variety of fish. Chase had his hand on Malcolm's lower back as he whispered something in his ear.
Jolly and Astrid stood a few feet away from us, a small smile pulling at her lips when he braided her long white hair for her.
Jesse and Maxxine stood with Davis, Michael, and Matt, conversing about something we couldn’t hear. But I watched with careful eyes as Matt’s gaze kept darting back to one certain area in the lobby; where a blue-haired girl was currently talking with Bryan.
Most likely about cameras.
When Matt’s eyes locked with mine, I motioned with a finger over to the girl but he rolled his eyes playfully before going back to talking with Michael.
Nicholas had sauntered up to Folio, giving his shoulder a reassuring squeeze.
There were a lot of us in our group but we were family. All of us.
“Folio! How did you and Michelle meet?” Davis questioned when all of us met in the middle of the lobby.
“At the Harley shop,” he chuckled, his earring shaking with the rumble of his body. “She wore her Motley Crue shirt and these cheetah flare suede pants. Her lips were red as fuck, I’ll remember those lips anywhere.”
All of us could hear the dreamy tone in his voice when he spoke about her and how the first thing that caught his attention was how she stood up to the man behind the counter who almost refused her service because he thought she didn’t know anything about bikes.
“I thought she was going to kick this guy's ass until I stepped in. We hit it off right away and she asked if I wanted to visit this Mexican ice cream shop around the block,” Folio smiled.
Just then someone walked up behind him, wrapping his arms around him, and I could see all the nerves slip out of his fingers.
“Hi, sweetheart,” he grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips with a kiss.
Michelle smiled, showcasing off those red lips. “Hi, cinnamon.”
“Cinnamon? Really?” Matt teased when Folio’s cheeks turned a deep crimson.
“Everyone, this is Michelle. My girlfriend,” he said with a proud smile.
While all the introductions happened, I gave her a big welcoming hug, I left Noah with a quick kiss on his lips.
“Where are you going?” He pouted while reaching for my hips again.
I giggled and playfully smacked his hands away. “I’m going to talk to Matt quickly.”
Immediately Noah understood and dismissed me with a gentle pat on my ass. I found Matt standing a few feet away from the group of girls, his own dreamy smile on his face as he watched her carefully.
“Hey,” I tipped the rim of his hat. “It’s rude to stare.”
“Like you’re the one to talk,” he playfully shoved me. “With all the staring you and Noah did before you got together.”
I narrowed my eyes at him. “Very funny, Dierkes. I just came over to see how things are going with a certain fairy?”
Suddenly as if she heard me speak of her, that familiar airy laughter reached Matt, who clutched at his heart.
“I’m so fucked,” he admitted with a slight lift of his lips.

You stare at the document in your hands, realization trickling in slowly, then with more force — a dam eroding before the subsequent flood. The longer you look at it the more the words and symbols swim before your eyes. How could this be? Had Jessica known about this?
She had to have, you puzzle, if it was in the study. Why didn’t she tell you? Could it be that she just never got the chance?
Or was she hiding it?
“You could at least look a little bit excited to see me.”
“Oh, Asha, I —” the content of the document promptly vanishes from your mind as it works instead to compute the image of Asha standing in the doorway of the study. “Asha!”
A shriek tears from you and you race across the room to your friend, embracing her tightly. She laughs against you. “There’s the welcome that I was expecting.”
“I’m sorry, I — actually, it doesn’t matter. What are you doing here? I wasn’t expecting you until tomorrow.” You hold her at arms length, examining her to make sure that she looks healthy and unharmed. “Are they treating you well?”
“The servants went sent ahead to prepare the rooms,” Asha says. “And I’m fine. How are you? Am I an aunt yet?”
There’s nothing you can do to suppress your eye roll, but you squeeze her hand assuringly. “You’ll be the first person to know.”
“Mm. The na-Baron needs to get on it.”
“Get on what?”
“Me,” you say. At the same time, Asha blurts, “Nothing!”
Feyd has replaced Asha in the doorway. He looks unfairly handsome, his skin retaining a little more color than usual from the Arrakis suns. Well, a red color, one that you’ve assurred him would fade.
Probably.
Seeing him makes your stomach flip. You’ve left the document out on the desk, and you glance at it quickly. But if he picks up on your panic, he doesn’t mention it.
“I suspected it was you when I heard all of the shrieking,” Feyd says. Then, this time to Asha, “I’m glad that you’re here.”
“Thank you, na-Baron,” Asha says with a dip of her chin.
“Do you need something?” You ask him. As casually as you can, you return to the desk and slip the document into your pocket.
Feyd’s lips twitch. “Can a husband not just visit his wife?”
“A husband can,” you retort, “but I have the sense that you are here as the na-Baron. Not my husband.”
“Is there a difference?”
You look to Asha. “I’ll be right back,” you promise her. Not daring to say anything in front of Feyd, she nods. You trail after Feyd into the hallway, who sets a swift pace, striding away from the study and out of ear shot.
“There’s a problem,” he tells you in a hushed tone.
“Other than the fact that you just stole me away as soon as my best friend arrived?”
Feyd ignores this. “My brother has generously invited Irulan and her family to the feast tomorrow night.”
“What?”
“The Emperor has declined the invitation but Irulan has elected to attend. Even though her father won’t be there, I suspect he’ll send an army of reinforcements for her.”
You mull over this new information. Both of you fall silent as a pair of soldiers pass by, then you whisper, “Could they suspect our plan?”
“No. Impossible.” Feyd shakes his head. “I’m sure the Baron just wants to remind House Corrino of their hand in…this.” He waves his hand to encompass the palace as you walk through it.
“Dethroning my family by having them killed?”
Feyd stops and pivots to you, grabbing your wrist. “I haven’t forgotten. But neither have they. We must keep our wits about us if we hope to be successful.”
“Right. I know.” You free yourself from his grip.
“You can’t let your emotions distract you.”
“They won’t.”
Feyd inspects your face, and he’s quiet for quite some time. “You’re hiding something from me.”
“No I’m not,” you reply reflexively. Feyd raises a brow. A scowl crosses your features and, reluctantly, you ask him, “What do you know of my…lineage?”
“I told you, you must not —”
“Just answer the question,” you snap. He’s acting as if you’re a petulant child, liable to pitch a fit.
Feyd recites what he knows, what you’ve told him — how your mother’s parents were never revealed to her. His mouth forms a severe line. “Why?”
There’s a fleeting moment in which you debate whether or not you’ll share the information with him. Ultimately, you know that you will never be able to keep it a secret. With hesitance you draw the document from your pocket and give it to him. Feyd’s eyes flash curiously to yours then back to the paper before reading it.
His expression remains unchanged. He hands the paper back to you. “I’m not surprised.”
“You’re not surprised?”
You were cousins. Cousins.
“I didn’t know, obviously,” he says, his voice nearing a growl. Then something in him softens slightly. “I’m referencing the inexplicable…connection that I have always felt. That you must’ve felt. Our hearts knew the same blood ran in our veins before our minds did.”
“You’re okay with this?” You ask.
Feyd lifts a shoulder, diplomatic as ever. “It is not unheard of. Besides, I am too entranced with you to let this affect me. If anything it just cements the bond that we have.”
He draws you close to him, his chin resting on the top of your head. You find comfort in the pulse of his heart under your ear, the familiar scent that you’ve associated with him. “You are me,” he says finally.
You smile softly. “And I am you.”
Late into the evening you help Asha with prepping for your esteemed guests, working alongside the other servants and sneaking sips of the spice wine. They’re unsure of you, at first, but Asha quickly puts them at ease with a few unflattering anecdotes. You laugh with them. It’s been too long of a time since you’ve really laughed, spent time with people who didn’t have any expectations of you except the ones that Asha dashed — you were not quite as scary as you looked, and you did not lash out at others at the slightest provocation.
“You’re confusing me for my husband,” you told them then, to weary laughter. You might not have been a threat to them, but they were all afraid of Feyd-Rautha. Understandably.
It’s a nice reprieve until you awake the next morning with a twinge of a spice headache and a spiraling sense of doom. What if your pain failed? What if something happened to you — or Feyd?
“Quit it.”
You’re sitting on the edge of the bed, draped in your finest dress. Feyd stands before the vanity and you watch him slip the Gom Jabbar into a hidden compartment in his sleeve. “Quit what?” You ask, fear tightening your chest.
“Worrying,” he says.
You meet his eyes in the mirror. A protest forms on your tongue but you know it would be futile to pretend that you aren’t worrying considering that he knows every subtle change in your expression. When you fail to reply, he turns to you, straightening out the cuffs of his smart jacket.
“Everything will be fine,” he tells you.
“You don’t know that.”
“I have never made a habit of being wrong.”
You fix him with an exasperated look. “We have no idea how this is going to play out.”
“We’re going to take back control from the hands of our oppressors,” Feyd says, his rasping voice like a lullaby. His long stride devours the space between you until he’s positioned himself practically between your legs. “We will finally take what we deserve.”
“I know. I know,” you say again with more conviction. You roll your shoulders back and try to emulate some of Feyd’s unwavering confidence, but he hardly looks convinced.
Gazing down at you, Feyd brushes his knuckles over the bannister of your cheek. “No harm will come to you. I won’t allow it.”
“And I won’t allow any harm to come to you.”
His hand pauses. Feyd’s thumb and forefinger captures your chin, lifts it up. “Promise me that you will not jeopardize your safety for mine.”
Not for the first time, you admire the angles of his face — the smooth brow, the dark eyes looking down at you over his straight nose; the plush lips that you cannot look at without picturing them over your most sensitive parts. Your heart pangs. You would do anything for him.
You tell him in an equally soft tone, “I can’t promise you that.”
“You must.” His grip on your chin tightens.
“We’ve already established that you are my blood. My past, my future,” you whisper fervently to him, brave in the face of his obvious disapproval, “if the moment comes to it I would lay down my life to protect yours.”
Feyd leans down. His mouth slants over yours, a phantom of a kiss. “Then you’re a fool,” he breathes, words chilling you.
“So be it.”
Feyd releases his grasp on you, stealing the air from your lungs. Even the faintest touch of his leaves you wanting more.
“Come,” he says, holding out his arm, “my foolish wife. We have guests to receive.”
Glowglobes dance over your heads as you venture, arm in arm, to the front of the palace. No one has been permitted to enter without the na-Baron and na-Baroness and at your arrival begin to trickle in slowly, each guest stopping to greet you and praise you for your hospitality.
A few stop to ponder at the lack of wash troughs but after a series of dead-end interactions with Feyd cease to ask. It wasn’t a popular choice among the Arrakis staff, you had learned from your previous stay that they liked to sell the towels from which cleaned up the mess from the troughs. Your Harkonnen guest frown on this as well. Even Feyd was skeptical about your insistence on removing the tradition, but he supported you regardless, and you couldn’t be more pleased by your decision.
Water was sacred here and you would not flaunt your access to it, not even to those who had never had to safe keep it.
It’s difficult to maintain the smile on your face as you welcome noblemen and bankers, wealthy businessmen, and even the occasional individual that you sense dabbled in the more seedy side of entrepreneurship. The duel suns have just started to set when you notice a familiar dark shape approaching you.
“Uncle,” Feyd greets the Baron.
“Feyd-Rautha, na-Baroness.” His voice slips over you like grease and his eyes are even more beady than you remember. Your grandfather. “It is good to see you again and to celebrate your victory.”
“Indeed,” you reply, not meaning it in the least.
From behind the Baron, his suspenders whirring with the effort of lifting him, emerge Rabban, clutching the wrist of one of the most beautiful women you have ever seen. Her dress gives the appearance of armor but still impressively elegant, blonde hair slicked back and green eyes latching onto you immediately.
“Princess Irulan,” Rabban says. “Though she hardly needs an introduction.”
“It’s a pleasure,” you say, curtsying.
Irulan smiles wistfully at you. “There is no need for that. We are destined to be family, after all.”
“My apologies,” Feyd retorts.
“Don’t mind him,” the Baron directs at the princess. One of his massive hands clamps down on Feyd’s shoulders, a gesture that you do not mistake for anything less than threatening. “He jests as all brothers do.”
“I understand,” Irulan says with a melodious laugh. Though as the five of you take to joining the rest of the party (along with Irulan's small army of guards), you can’t help but notice the way she glances at you. You have trouble deciphering the look but it slips from your mind after another session of small talk before the first course is served.
The table has just been set with plates of all sorts of delicacies when you feel a small hand grab you. Bodies press against you as guests hurry to claim the most coveted seats at the table. A chord of surprise is struck in you when you realize that the hand is not that of someone hoping to steady themselves amongst the sea of bodies but, rather, the intentional grip of Princess Irulan.
“We must talk,” she says. “It’s not every day that you find yourself in a situation like the one we have both been put in.”
“Did you not think your father would arrange your marriage?” You ask stiffly.
Something reminds you that Irulan is studying to be a Bene Gesserit, a feat that you could never hope to accomplish. You have to admit that it’s admirable. But the less tolerant side of you resents her for it.
“I could never hope for that, much like you were unable,” Irulan says. “I meant in the nature of being engaged to Harkonnens.”
“Oh.”
Distractedly you let your eyes wander until they fall on Feyd, who is sitting in his place at the head of the table and entertaining a small audience. Rabban, on the other hand, glowers at the food heaped on his plate, fork gripped in his fist as if he wants to launch it at someone.
“Do you have any wisdom to impart?” Irulan asks.
“I’m still trying to learn myself,” you tell her. “The Harkonnens are a…unique people.”
Irulan leans closer to you. “Is Feyd-Rautha as psychotic as they say?”
“Even more,” you say in interest of feeding the rumors. They weren’t wrong, of course, but you could hardly consider him as such when it was Irulan’s own betrothed who worried you.
And they both had a hand in your family’s deaths.
Before you can say anything to this effect, however, Feyd beckons you to the table. You smile at Irulan placatingly — the expression of a wife under her husband’s control — then find your place beside him. Irulan sits down on the other side of Rabban. Is she still staring at you?
You can’t help but feel as you did when Jessica would scrutinize you, analyzing your every move and word. It unsettles you.
The dinner starts without a hitch. You do your best to move the food on your plate around convincingly and avoid Irulan’s gaze. Everyone seems content to listen to Feyd’s stories about dismantling the spice smugglers, though, which leaves you mostly adrift with your thoughts. In fact, you’re so surprised when someone speaks to you that it takes several moments for you to compose an answer.
“Pardon my niece,” the Baron interjects with a sickening smile. “She certainly has a lot on her mind. Arrakis is grueling for even the weakest of individuals, though she’s had experience with it before.”
The noblemen who spoke to you nods. “That’s right. You’re of House Atreides. My condolences about your parents. Duke Leto was a magnificent man.”
“If only other men were possessed of such magnificence,” you mutter in reply, angrily spearing a vegetable on your plate. You shoot a glare at the Baron. “My father inspired cowardice in those who could not even hope to compete with him.”
“True cowardice lies in refusing to admit when you’ve been beat,” the Baron says coolly. He licks sauce from his thumb.
You stare back evenly at him. “You would know about true cowardice.”
The nobleman stuck between you both clears his throat awkwardly and drains the rest of his glass. Conversation swells again and thankfully diverts the topic of your family, and as the dinner transpires you’re itching to enact your plan. Finally dessert is cleared and after-dinner drinks are set before all of the guests.
Feyd rises to his feet and draws the attention of the room, holding up his flute to indicate a toast.
You stand, too, and smile endearingly at him.
“Tonight we have gathered to celebrate the prosperity of the House Harkonnen,” he rasps. “In the face of adversity we have yet again come out the victors on the other side.” This is met by a small smattering of applause. Feyd continues, “Of course, where would we be without our patriarch? The Baron has…provided for us for many years. I can only hope to return the favor.”
Feyd and you both drink from your glasses, as do the rest of the party.
It takes only a few seconds for panic to arise.
While you and Feyd gaze out contentedly at your guest, they find themselves paralyzed and unable to move a muscle. It’s a temporary poison — it won’t last longer than a few minutes — but it’s one that you both have acclimated to. You are free to round the table to Rabban at the same time that Feyd strides to his uncle on the other side.
You pull the Gom Jabbar from your corset. Every Noble House is in possession of one, which is why Feyd also had to steal his own. In a movement that seems almost choreographed, you and your husband bring the needles up to the necks of your prisoners. Adrenaline soars through you.
“It was always going to end like this between us,” Feyd murmurs almost lovingly to the Baron. He brushes his finger down his uncle’s face.
You turn your attention to Rabban. Although he cannot move, the muscles in his eyes strain to glare at you. You hold the needle just centimeters from his skin. “I will give you the same mercy you gave my family,” you whisper. “None.”
“STOP!”
Time ceases to move as, from your peripheral, you watch Irulan shoot to her feet. You’re unable to refuse the call of The Voice, and you’re rendered as paralyzed as the guests who drank from their poisoned glasses.
Which, apparently, the princess had not.
“You two are both fools,” she hisses. Her fingers form claws at her sides. “Did you not think I would notice what you were doing? That I would let you unravel the hard work of my father?”
Using The Voice, she orders you to drop the needles. They clatter to the ground.
You manage a glance in Feyd’s direction. His expression is grim, jaw clenched and eyes burning with rage at having been thwarted. Out of all of the outcomes of this evening, you hadn’t expected this to be one of them. A leaden feeling fills your entire body.
Irulan holds you, frozen, until she can call her father’s guards into the room and command them to seize you for treason.
“Irulan, please,” you beg her once liberated of her hold over you.
She simply gazes at you with contempt.
Guards descend on the room without warning and, without any verbal agreement, you and Feyd do your best to fend off wave after wave of them. They drop like flies, but there’s too many of them for you both to dispatch. You step and whirl over fallen bodies as you fend off the guards with nothing but a butter knife, the Gom Jabbar having been the first thing the guards kicked out of your grasp.
“We have to get out,” Feyd snaps at you. He throws a punch over your shoulder, hitting a guard and giving you enough time to spin and kick the offender in the gut. “Now.”
You pant, “Where?”
Irulan was tending to Rabban, who had stirred and was glaring murderously at you as he waited for the rest of his body to cooperate. The Baron simply stared from his seat. You had no idea if he was fully awake or not, but you didn’t want to wait for the punishment he fettered out.
“Here.” Feyd pushes a torn up napkin into your hands and demonstrates his intention by forcing them deep into his ears.
You quickly do the same. If you can’t hear Irulan, then the Voice won’t work on you.
Right?
It seemed as good a plan as any. Like a conjoined beast, you and Feyd tear through the swarm of guards like cutting through tall wheat. Blood splattered his face and his knuckles had broken open — you were sure you looked just as deranged, hair loosened from its pins and dress ripped from where a guard had taken hold to try and stop you. You had promptly struck him in the head with your foot, knocking him out and releasing his grip on you.
A roar from behind alerts you to bigger troubles. Rabban staggers after you, face reddened.
“Y/N!” Asha cries. You’ve made it to one of the adjoining hallways, and she latches onto your arm, pulling you towards her.
“Asha, no —”
“Go! Take her!” Feyd yells.
You wrench yourself free from Asha but Feyd has already been swallowed up by a wall of guards. A keening sound escapes you. You try to push yourself back but Asha won’t let you. “No, Feyd! Feyd!”
He made me promise that I would help you escape,” Asha tells you, panicked. “Come on.”
“I won’t leave him.”
Asha tugs your arm. “I doubt he will be able to tolerate being apart from you for very long. But he will not tolerate it if I let anything happen to you.”
A guard with a lasgun splits from the dining room towards you and Asha and, with one more prompt from her, you take off running in the opposite direction, tears of frustration streaming down your face. The lasgun fires off two rounds, narrowly missing you. You pump your legs as fast as they will go, completely disconnected from the task at hand as you remember the image of Feyd interlocking with Rabban before he was obscured from your view by the guards. Would even your husband be able to escape such force?
“Turn here,” Asha instructs, your feet thundering loudly on the polished floors. She turns and thrusts you into a segment of the wall that has fallen away, moving swiftly to replace it. Stupidly, you hover, ensuring that you’re not being followed. The sound of the guard’s heavy breathing passes by you, then disappears. Asha turns to you, her face in shadows. “Move.”
Once you’re safely away from the door, tunneling through a narrow passageway, you ask her, “Where are we?”
“Abandoned servants halls. They used to use them to travel through the palace without being detected.”
A rush of adrenaline keeps you moving. You trail after Asha as she guides you through the winding passage, relying only on touch to navigate. You can barely even lift your arms at your sides without touching the walls, and its pitch black, no glowglobes to light your way. There’s no saying how far you go until Asha is grunting and pushing her shoulder up against another segment of wall.
You blink rapidly as you encounter a burst of light and the grit of sand on your tongue. Somehow you’ve bypassed most of the palace for the hangar. It’s shaded by an awning but open on one side to the harsh elements.
“Come on, we don’t have much time. If they’re smart they’ll know where we’re going.”
Asha leads you to one of the idle thopters. “I have no idea how to pilot one of these,” you say, alarmed.
“It’s been preprogrammed to at least get you out of Arraneen,” Asha says. “The rest is up to you. It’s not hard. This is the throttle—” she points to a lever, then another, “and this is the clutch.”
“I —” the words die in your throat.
I, what? Can’t land this thing? Can’t believe this is happening? Can’t leave without Feyd?
“Come with us. They’ll kill you if they find out you helped us,” you say instead.
Asha shakes her head. “There’s no room.”
“Asha —”
Your friend, her own tears in her eyes, pushes away your reaching hand. She ducks her head to check a watch-apparatus from her pocket. “The na-Baron should be here soon. If he’s not, he instructed me to force you to leave without him.”
You growl, “Nothing you can say will keep me from him.”
As if the universe felt personally challenged by this, the sounds of lasguns going off reverberate through the hangar. Asha and you both look towards the entrance, where Feyd can be seen sprinting from a group of guards. A scream climbs in your chest, bubbling with fear, as you watch him swerve and dodge to avoid the blasts.
“Feyd!” You cry.
His eyes lock on you and, seemingly emboldened, cycles his legs faster, outrunning the guards in their clumsy uniforms.
“Y/N, start the thopter!” Asha yells. She indicates a button on the mantle of the ship and you hastily press it, the bug-like wings snapping to life and kicking up sand in the hangar.
Feyd skids to a stop beside the thopter. A blast fires off, singing the mechanical flank of the ship. He uses his body as a shield for Asha. “Come with us,” he tells her, echoing you. Sweat and blood mingle on his face and his clothes.
“No. It’s too late. Go!” Asha all but shoves him into the thopter, crying out as another blast lands at her feet. With Feyd’s broad form next to yours, there’s truly no room for Asha unless she wanted to be smashed against the windshield. Feyd takes over the controls from you.
The thopter door closes right as the guards reach it, already jerking Asha into their grip.
You howl and scream in disbelief, pounding at the doors of the thopter from the inside as it launches into the air. Feyd hovers slightly before yanking on the throttle and piloting the thopter out of the hangar. “No, no, no!” Asha’s tiny frame is dwarfed by the guards, then by distance.
“Y/N, there’s nothing we can do now. She sacrificed herself for us. Let’s not put it to waste,” Feyd snarls at you.
You swipe tears and makeup from your face. Something inside you hardens, and you push down your anguish in order to focus on your escape. Feyd is a talented flyer, but it’s nothing compared to the league of thopters and ships encroaching in the distance. Worry clamps down on you like the jaws of a sandworm.
Arrakeen blurs beneath you as Feyd soars over it, the body of the thopter casting shadows over the buildings. You’ve nearly reached the shield wall when a shot collides with the thopter and sends it staggering to one side. Feyd curses. The Emperor’s ships have caught up with you. You grip your armrests, eyes widening as you watch the ships grow larger and larger in the rearview mirror. Feyd eases your ship through a small opening in the shimmering shield wall, effectively preventing any of the large ships from following.
More shots ring out, pinging off your thopter.
“What are we going to do?” Feyd’s dark gaze flickers behind you, then back to the desert unfolding before you. It’s then that you see it — a storm. “Feyd, did you get hit in the head? We can’t go into a sandstorm.”
“It’s our only option,” he grits out.
You want to protest, to persist that there’s another way, but you have no answer. Feyd forces the throttle of the ship down as far as it will go, the wings fluttering almost imperceptibly as he urges them to go as fast as possible. Pain explodes in your head when a blast hits the side of the thopter and you’re thrown against the inner wall; much like the pain, a fiery explosion erupts outside your window.
“Fuck! They shot off one of the engines,” Feyd yells over the clamor of the thopter stalling. Teeth gritting, he swoops it out of its downward spiral and back into the air. “We just have to make it to the storm. They won’t follow us.”
Giant columns of smoke billow from the decimated engine, the right wing also engulfed in flames. The thopters chugs along awkwardly, dipping and faltering as Feyd does his best to keep it in the air, relying on the gusts of wind from the oncoming storm. Your stomach churns.
And, quite literally jumping from one problem to the next, the storm seizes upon your thopter with furious force. From all sides you’re battered by wind and currents of sand and rocks, sounding like you were being pelted with boulders on all sides. You realize too late that the screaming you hear is from you. Feyd battles against the storm but at this point he’s at its terrible mercy, both of you being tossed around with no sense of control.
There’s a split second when you catch a glimpse of fear on Feyd’s face — the first time you’ve ever seen it — before another blast rockets into the thopter. One of the ships had followed you.
Flames converge with the whipping sand and an alarm starts wailing as the thopter plummets to the ground. Well, logical leads you to believe that it’s the ground, there’s no way of telling which direction you’re going.
Feyd releases himself from his seat’s harness and crosses over the console, throwing his body over yours right as the ship collides with something solid and everything goes black.

Tumblr media
That night you followed Beomgyu to his bedchambers. You weren’t quite sure of why but his warm hand in yours made it hard to let go. When the large doors close behind you, Beomgyu quickly pins you to the wall.
“Can I kiss you again?” he asks and you nod, wondering why he even bothered to ask as your answer would remain the same a thousand times over. He smiles as his hand cups your cheek, your eyes follow his movement before flickering back up to his face.
Drawing in a short breath when his lips find yours, eyes fluttering closed as your arms wrap around his neck. Kissing Beomgyu felt more intimate than any words ever spoken, and you were sure he felt the same as his other hand pulled you closer.
Lips moving together in a way of a thousand unspoken words, only breaking apart for you to swallow a short breath of air before crashing together once more. When his warm tongue pushes past your lips, your stomach tingles in an unfamiliar way.
Beomgyu moved with so much desire and determination — yet it felt almost as if he held back. His longing hands stayed by your hair and face, his kisses were passionate but tentative, almost hesitant. And in the dim light of the candles, you decided to take action instead.
Somewhat trembling hands move from his neck to his chest, taking your time to actually feel him. It went without saying that Beomgyu was attractive, and as the tips of your fingers grazed his toned chest, you only confirmed any previous assumptions.
As your fingers begin to twist at the buttons of his dress shirt, he suddenly pulls away from the kiss. With both your hands in one of his own, he halters your ministrations on his garments. “Wait, princess..”, his breath is heavy and his voice raspy, it added to the tingling sensation in your stomach.
A few strands of his hair stuck to his forehead, glued down by the thin layer of sweat glistening on his face. His pretty pink lips plump and wet from being entangled with your own. You were mesmerized by him, did he not feel the same? Was that why he stopped you?
“What’s wrong, did I…did I do something?” you wonder, lips forming into a slight pout as your brows draw together. You had never kissed someone before tonight, perhaps there were certain rules to intimacy; rules you had yet to be made aware of. Beomgyu shakes his head, “fuck no, you’re amazing, princess”, he breathes, only adding fire to your already thumping heart.
His other hand cups your cheek as his thumb grazes your bottom lip. “I just — I don’t know if it’s right”, he mumbles and your frown deepens. “What?” you whisper, disbelief evident in your voice. Did he not want this? You thought he did.
“If you don’t want to-” “No, I do”, Beomgyu quickly interrupts your train of thought. “Fuck I want this more than anything”, he groans, the hand around your own pulling you closer. He confused you, his actions did little to match the words spilling from his mouth.
“It’s just, this is supposed to be special for you”, suddenly he loosens the grip on your hands as he lets his own fall to his side. “What I’m tryna say is, this isn’t something you do with just anyone, princess”.
As you search his face for any clues, you find nothing. Beomgyu looked sincere as ever, a faint smile ghosting on his lips as his hand ran gently through your hair. Sometimes you thought he was really daft.
Raising yourself to your toes, your now free hands pull him down by his shirt as you press your lips against his once more. At first he remains frozen, lips unmoving against your own, and for a split second your sudden confidence falters. Though as soon as his arm wraps around your waist, everything is forgotten about once more.
This time, you’re the first to pull away; and as your eyes find his, you know that this is right. “Who says you’re just anyone?”. In the dim glow of the candles, you could’ve sworn you saw the way Beomgyu’s face flushed with color.
“You sure ‘bout this, princess?” he whispers as his lips hover over yours. “Certain”. His signature smirk finds its way back onto his lips as he presses them against your own in a soft kiss. Large hands find the back of your thighs and before you know it he’s got you in his arms. Letting out a surprised yelp, you cling onto him as Beomgyu carries you over to his bed, gently placing you down on it.
His soft lips press feathery kisses along your jawline and down to where your neck meets your collarbone. The sensation is foreign to you and you can’t help but feel lost on his touch. Fingers fiddling with the strings of your corset, Beomgyu looks up from your chest, “this okay?” You nod, pulling your bottom lip between your teeth and he grins. With the swift movement of his fingers, your corset is loosened around your waist as he gently pulls it off.
When his tender hands slide the dress of your shoulders your eyes meet his, one of your hands comes up to rest on his bicep and he immediately halters his movements. Chewing on your bottom lip as your fingers travel to his soft hair, “I’ve never…I’ve never done this before”, you admit, your voice barely above a whisper but Beomgyu catches your every word.
He’s quiet for a moment as his fingers rub small circles on your hip, “it’s like dancing”, he then muses and you frown, what a strange parallel. “Since it’s your first time, I’ll lead”, he grins and you smile as you nod, “okay”. Leaning in to press his lips against your own he whispers, “tell me to stop and I will”. You didn’t want him to stop, not now, not ever. You trusted Beomgyu, with him by your side you thought you could do almost anything.
Your whole life you had been told that you were beautiful, whether it had been from suitors or servants, the phrase was far from foreign to you — but Beomgyu didn’t need words, he showed you. With every kiss, every breath against your burning skin, he made you feel beautiful, inside out.
So when his fingers softly tug at your dress; you let him pull it down – because you trust him. No words are needed as his hands find the soft skin of your waist, lips grazing along your collarbone and down the valley between your breasts, leaving your skin tingling in his wake. When he reaches your stomach he pauses, glancing toward you, a searching look on his face  as his eyes find yours. Breath hitching in your throat; you give him a small nod and he grins.
You hadn’t known what to expect on your first night, it wasn’t like anyone had prepared you for it, things like these were prohibited topics of discussion. More so, you certainly hadn’t expected for your first night to be spent with Beomgyu — but when his head dips in between your legs, you realize that you wouldn’t want it any other way.
His soft lips moved in the same tender and lust filled manner as they had done so many times before that night, except he wasn’t kissing your lips anymore. Never in your life had you thought that a single course of action would allow you to feel such a surge of pleasure. His soft hair caresses your inner thighs and your fingers find a few locks to grab on to.
The soft groan emitting from Beomgyu sends vibrations flooding between your legs and your lips part in a moan. His hands caress your sides, your stomach, your thighs, setting your skin ablaze under his touch. It wasn’t like you hadn’t pleasured yourself before, curious about your own body as your fingers had slipped under your nightgown —  but this was different, Beomgyu made you feel different, a different kind of pleasure.
Tongue pressing up against that small bundle of nerves that always makes your face scrunch up in ecstasy as soft sounds of relief leave your lips. It was like he knew exactly when and where to touch and you wondered if you’d ever be able to get enough. A familiar knot builds in your stomach, the grip on his silky hair growing tighter as you try your best to keep your legs from trembling.
Beomgyu’s soft kisses don't falter, if anything they grow in intensity when you pleadingly tug at the ends of his hair. “I got you, princess” His quiet whisper of reassurance against your warm skin causes the rising feeling to break as your climax hits. Muffled moans and cries of pleasure leave your swollen lips, you almost felt like you were floating — at least your mind was.
Gentle hands caress your trembling thighs as Beomgyu adorns the blissful state of your body, his lips and chin glistening in the gentle glow of the candles. Heat rises on your cheeks, feeling as if you had exposed yourself fully to him; now left in a vulnerable state as your eyes shyly meet his. “I…I uhm”, you stammer for words, not knowing how to face him your eyes drift to focus on anything else but him.
Beomgyu’s fingers meet your chin as he quietly turns your attention back to where he wanted it, to him. “You look so pretty”, he murmurs, eyes glazed with desire as he beholds the coy expression on your flushed face. “The prettiest princess I’ve ever seen”.
“Am I to suppose that you’ve seen plenty of princesses then?” you blurt, feeling rather embarrassed over your sudden straightforwardness. Beomgyu grins, his lips hovering above yours, warm breath fanning your face, “I’ve seen enough to know when I come across a beautiful one”.
You couldn’t help but smile, “why, aren’t you a smooth talker”. Soft lips press against your own, if only for a moment before he pulls back with a smirk, “I do try”, he breathes before reattaching your lips once more.
This time, he doesn’t stop your fingers from twisting the buttons open on his shirt. Pushing the white garment off his shoulders, your hands eagerly explore the outline of his chest. To say that you had been longing to do so, was an understatement. Beomgyu was truly mesmerizing, you had thought so since the very first time you saw him, back then he had been nothing more but a mere stranger who had somehow ended up at your balcony. Perhaps it was fate? Something you had never dared believe in, now seemed so real.
Then you remember, a drop of faith. Was this the faith you needed? The faith you and Beomgyu held for each other. Maybe it was. Beomgyu’s tender lips on your neck brings you back to the present as his hands move to rest on your hips. “Do you trust me, princess?” his voice is muffled against the sweaty skin of your neck. Hips pressed against your own, the outline of something hard pushing up against your thigh. Arms wrapping around his neck, you nod, “more than anything”.
That night Beomgyu made you feel truly beautiful. From the feathery light kisses he pressed against your lips, your neck and your breasts, to the way his body moved so easily against your own. How he gently eased himself inside of you, his soft whispers of praise and reassurance. “This okay, princess?” he murmurs as the feeling of him, filling you, overtook all your senses.
“You’re doing so good”, he groans against your lips as one of his hands moves your leg to wrap around his waist; making him slide even further inside of you, drawing lewd sounds you never even knew you could make.
Fingers intertwining against the soft mattress as the unspoken words of love fill the room. You never wanted the night to end, you wanted to forever stay wrapped in Beomgyu’s safe embrace. You wanted to always fall asleep molded against his body as he tucks your hair behind your ear, feel his soft breathing against your back, inhale nothing but his addicting scent.
In that moment, as your sweaty bodies lay entangled in the soft sheets of his bed, you realized that this is exactly how you were supposed to feel. This was love.
The next morning came all too soon, as the first rays of sunlight peeked through the curtains of Beomgyu’s bedchamber, you awoke with a small groan. Upon turning around and coming face to face with the most endearing sight you had ever witnessed, you immediately smiled.
You had always thought Beomgyu to be a pretty sleeper, and as the gentle glow of sun caressed his smooth skin, ruffled hair falling in uneven portions across his face, pink rosy lips formed into a slightly pout, you realized that he wasn’t just a pretty sleeper, he was a beautiful one.
Brushing a strand of hair from his face, your stomach flutters at the thought of last night. It had been the most special night of your life, you could only hope that he had felt the same. The chirping of birds outside reminds you that you have duties to attend to for the day, yet you found it hard to remove yourself from the warm embrace that was Beomgyu. Perhaps a few more minutes wouldn’t hurt.
You’re in the midst of studying his sleeping face, fingers gently tracing the outline of his lips when his eyes flutter open. Beomgyu doesn’t say anything as he looks at you dreamingly, his own hand moves from your waist to your face as he mimics the soft movements of your fingers.
Desperately, you wished for things to stay like this, blissful and unspoilt by the world outside. But you knew that such a thing was impossible. This was only a fragment of what you could have, should the circumstances in which you and Beomgyu exist in the same universe be different. The thought pained you and you were certain he could tell from the way his brows drew together in a frown.
“What’s that pretty mind of yours thinkin’ ‘bout?” He wonders and you shake your head, chewing on your bottom lip gently. “Just…us.” Propping himself up on one of his arms, Beomgyu remains unblinking as he tilts his head ever so slightly, “in a good or bad way?” You roll your eyes as a small grin forms on your lips, “there’s no bad us.” “Well thank god for that”, Beomgyu gives a dramatic sigh and you refuse a small giggle.
No matter what happened, you knew that you would be fine as long as you had him by your side. But that was exactly the thing — how much longer would you have Beomgyu? For the longest time the unknown had been what had scared you the most; but with your future clear as glass, you wanted nothing more but to be made unaware of everything again. Most of all you wanted to be made unaware of the fact that your time with Beomgyu was limited, that it would one day come to an end.
“Seriously, princess” Beomgyu’s soft voice leads your gaze back to him, “what’s bothering you?” How did you tell him that he was what was wrong, that it was all his fault. His fault for stumbling into your world like that, for making you forget about everything, for making you feel loved and safe, for making you feel like without him, there would be no tomorrow.
“Just…thinking about how I ought to miss you today” You could never tell him. Beomgyu grins as he pulls you closer to his naked chest, “I must’ve left quite the impression then.” “You’re quite full of yourself, you know that?” you mutter against his neck, feeling the way his chest moves as he chuckles. “Well someone’s gotta be”, he murmurs before pressing his lips against yours. The small action instantly floods your mind with memories of the previous night.
Your arms move to wrap around his neck as he hums softly against your lips, arm snaking around your thigh to lift it over his waist. “Anyone ever tell you that you look fuckin’ gorgeous in the mornings?” he groans as your fingers tug at the ends of his hair. “Just you”, you whisper and Beomgyu smirks.
If Beomgyu was bound to one day turn into a memory — you would be sure to make him a cherished one.

Rook Hunt x Fem! Reader ︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
I always sensed him before I saw him—Rook Hunt, the enigmatic archer whose presence was like a whisper in the wind. He had a way of appearing just when I needed him, as if he could read my thoughts from afar. It was both unsettling and comforting, this silent dance we shared within the halls of Night Raven College.
I remember the first time I truly noticed him. It was during a downpour, the kind that seemed to drench the world in shades of gray. I was caught without an umbrella, cursing my luck, when he materialized beside me, his own umbrella suddenly sheltering us both.
“Why do you always show up like this?” I asked, my voice barely audible over the rain.
Rook simply smiled, his eyes gleaming with a mischief that belied his gentlemanly demeanor. “Perhaps it is fate, or perhaps it is simply my desire to be near you,” he replied, his French accent wrapping around each word like a caress.
From that day on, Rook became a constant figure in my life. He was there when I dropped my books, his hands quick to catch them before they hit the ground. He was there when I struggled with a particularly tricky spell, his guidance subtle but invaluable. And he was there when I felt alone, his presence a silent promise of companionship.
It was strange, this new intimacy that bloomed between us. I had always been fiercely independent, never one to seek out touch or comfort. But with Rook, it was different. His touch didn’t feel like an intrusion; it felt like coming home.
“Being touch-starved and needy was really starting to mess with my reputation as a tough guy,” I joked one evening as we sat in the gardens, the stars above us twinkling like diamonds.
Rook chuckled, his hand finding mine in the darkness. “You are strong, mon amour, but even the strongest warriors need rest,” he said, his thumb tracing circles on the back of my hand.
Our relationship was a series of stolen moments and lingering glances. We were like two pieces of a puzzle, fitting together in a world that often felt too chaotic to comprehend. His touch was a balm to the coldness that had settled in my bones, a warmth that seeped into my very soul.
“They wanted to be touched, to be missed, to be loved. Was that too much to ask for?” I whispered one night as we lay on the grass, the earth solid beneath us.
Rook turned to me, his face serious for once. “You are touched, you are missed, and you are loved—by me,” he said, and I knew he meant every word.
In Rook Hunt, I found an unexpected ally, a confidant, and a source of strength. Our connection was a delicate thread woven through the tapestry of our daily lives, growing stronger with each shared smile and every gentle touch.
—----
As the semester at Night Raven College progressed, Rook’s subtle presence became a constant in my life. His appearances were no longer surprising; they were expected, anticipated even. He was always there, a step behind me, ready to catch me if I stumbled, both literally and metaphorically.
One afternoon, as I was poring over ancient texts in the library, I felt the familiar gaze on my back. Without looking up, I knew it was Rook, his silent watch a comforting pressure. “You don’t have to hide, Rook,” I called out softly, “I know you’re there.”
There was a rustle of fabric, and then he was beside me, his hand brushing mine as he placed a forgotten quill back on the table. “Mademoiselle, I do not hide,” he said, his voice a gentle chide, “I merely ensure that you are not in want of anything.”
His concern was touching, and I found myself smiling at his words. “And what if what I want is your company?” I asked, challenging him with a playful tilt of my head.
Rook’s eyes sparkled with delight, and he pulled up a chair, sitting close enough that our arms touched. “Then you shall have it, for as long as you desire,” he replied, and we spent the rest of the afternoon lost in conversation, the texts forgotten.
It wasn’t just his timely interventions that drew me to him; it was the way he listened, truly listened. When I spoke, he gave me his undivided attention, his eyes never straying, his responses always thoughtful. He had a way of making me feel seen, understood, and valued.
Our relationship was a slow burn, a gradual build-up of trust and affection. We shared secrets and dreams, our hopes for the future intertwining like the vines that climbed the walls of the college. With Rook, I could be myself, unguarded and true.
The touch-starved feeling that had once plagued me began to fade, replaced by the warmth of Rook’s nearness. His touch was a balm to my soul, a gentle reminder that I was not alone in this vast, twisted world.
One evening, as we walked through the moonlit gardens, Rook stopped suddenly, turning to face me. “You have become my most cherished companion,” he confessed, his voice earnest, “In your presence, I find a peace I have known nowhere else.”
I reached out, my hand finding his, our fingers intertwining naturally. “And you have become mine,” I admitted, the truth of my words ringing clear in the night air.
We stood there, under the silver glow of the moon, our hands clasped, our hearts beating in unison. It was a moment of perfect harmony, a silent vow that whatever the future held, we would face it together.

Hi! I would like to add a rambling thought to your Silver ramble, if you don't mind <3 From what I recall, Lilia, after waking up in his dream, ensures he can combat Malleus since he has the magical reserves IN the dream world in order to do so. If this is truly the case, then maybe something similar is happening to Silver's magical reserves? A type of reset whenever he dream-hops? It's quite a stretch, of course, but I have a feeling what Lilia said may help! Just a thought :D

Tumblr media
Oh, interesting idea 🤔
That kind of supplements another theory I frequently saw in reactions to the original post. The idea is that since they’re in dreams, maybe they technically don’t actually use “real” magic and thus don’t accumulate “real” blot.
Other suggestions I saw (from comments, reblogs, and my inbox) were:
His UM doesn’t need a lot of magic in order be be cast, so it’s perfectly safe for Silver to use it so many times. (Thank you to @irafuwas for confirming that Silver does, in fact, state that his UM does not require much magic.)
Silver does not have magical reserves large enough to the point where he would be at risk of blotting.
Silver’s ring (gifted to him from his father) may have a a protective/healing property or enchantment which is slowing blot accumulation or clearing it up for him.
The blot is offset or balanced out by the fact that Silver is dreaming; rest is stated to be one of the ways to deal with and recover from blot buildup.
Delayed blot accumulation; the blot will only make its effects known once he awakens in his physical form irl. The blot does not impact his dream self.
The blot is contained on a different plane of existence than the dreams; this could be how its naturally works or it could be the result of Malleus’s magic “suppressing” the bad stuff (blot included).
Silver’s sleeping curse is actually reframed as a blessing that provides him with blot resistance.
Malleus’s UM has stopped time within the AOE of his spell. Perhaps this means Silver’s body doesn’t yet register that he has used up a lot of magic (meaning he has also built up a lot of blot). This one is similar to the “delayed effects” theory in the previous bullet point.
Plot convenience—
Thank you to my readers for sharing their ideas ^^ I didn’t even consider some of these myself! Love that we’re able to pass around ideas and have a discussion about them.
Hopefully TWST will give us a clearer explanation in a future update. (jcbsksbKvsjwnw It really makes my brain itchy not knowing; it doesn’t seem happy with a short throwaway answer like “my UM doesn’t use a lot of magic” that we got in the recent update… OTL)

Notes: I hope you enjoy it. I really enjoyed writing it and thinking of making a part two with Vampire Minho. Let me know if I should.
Your eyes look around in the crowd. You can't help but be eager for your next prey. "You're not even listening to me, are you?" Your eyes turn towards your boyfriends. He's crossing his arms. "You're already looking for someone?" You sigh out as Hyunjin frowns at you. Your hand comes to lay on top of his.
"I'm sorry, my love. It's just been so long." You tell him. The frown disappears from his face. Then he rolls his eyes. "You're dramatic. It's been only a few weeks. You're just so picky with the humans you drain." Hyunjin was right, though. You're very picky, but how are you supposed to drain someone's blood if they look unappetizing.
Hyunjin huffs out, making you look at him once more. "Just choose someone tonight. You haven't drunk blood in a while. I'm starting to be concerned. Minho won't be happy either if you aren't high on blood when we get back home." The mention of your other boyfriend has you sighing out. He's right. You've been drinking from him for the last few weeks to keep yourself healthy.
"Plus, you're starting to get wrinkles. I don't want to date a grandma!" Hyunjin whines out. He truly is so overdramatic, but he's your overdramatic boyfriend. "I am not. You're being mean now. What would Minho say?" You ask him with a raised eyebrow.
Hyunjin rolls his eyes once more. "Something along the lines of 'You're both being childish. Now go find someone yn. I'm not letting you drink from me once more.' Then when you can't find anybody, he'll let you drink from him once more." Hyunjin is leaning back in his seat relaxing.
Your eyes fall on his body, and you can't help but admire him. Tall, handsome, and exuding pure confidence. He truly looks like something out of a book. "Quit staring at me as if I'm your next meal. You and Minho turned me almost 100 years ago. You can't drain the blood from my body, sweetheart. Immortal." Hyunjin reminds you.
You remember that day as if it were yesterday, really. You and Minho had visited a bar. You were dressed as a flapper. Meanwhile, Minho had a cigar between his lips. His hand was around your waist the whole time. Minho was always the jealous type. However, as you both had a shot of Tequila, you both had heard Hyunjin on stage. He was a singer. Beautiful voice that matched the beautiful face.
Hyunjin had come to the bar after the show. A simple shot of tequila. He had thrown it back and had made a face of disgust. You and Minho couldn't help but smile at each other as you made your way over. You had taken Hyunjins right side, and Minho had taken his left.
"You have a beautiful voice." Minho had told him. Hyunjin had looked up surprised to have found him in between the two of you. "Oh, uh, thank you." Hyunjin replied with a smile.
"Beautiful face too." You commented. He was clearly taken aback at your comment. "Thank you as well, Mrs?" You couldn't help but let out a laugh. He was clearly nervous. "Not Mrs. I'm not married. You can just call me yn though." You tell him with a smile.
"Okay. Yn. I'm Hyunjin." He still looks nervous, and that's when Minho gestures for another shot of Tequila. It's set down in front of Minho. He slides it in front of Hyunjin. "Maybe this'll help. You seem nervous. Don't be." Minho tells him, and he flashes him a smile showing off one of his fangs. Hyunjin doesn't run away in terror and instead grabs the glass and chugs it once more. He places the glass on the table. Once more, with a disgusted face.
Your hand comes to lay on top of his. "You're quite handsome, Hyunjin. I'm sure you know that, though. I'm sure there's many women and men lining up for you." You tell him. Clearly, he's taken aback at your statement, though. "Men?" He asks back nervously.
Minho places a hand on his lower back. "Well, you're a gorgeous guy. I'm sure there's plenty of men trying to take you to bed." Minho is smirking at him. You can hear Hyunjins heart beating out his chest, and you almost want to laugh. Hyunjin quickly shakes his head, though. "No? What a shame." Minhos hand rubs Hyunjins back.
"No women or men, really." Hyunjin is looking down at his glass clearly unnerved by yours and Minhos presence. You lean up to his ear. "How would you like to go to bed with us, Hyunjin? We can show you a good time." You tell him. You watch as he shivers, and Minho chuckles.
"My girl knows what she wants." Hyunjin looks at Minho. He's clearly unsure, and Minho smirks at him. "Would you like to share us Hyunjin? You could fuck my pretty girl and I could fuck you?" Minho asks lowly. Hyunjin tenses up at Minhos words but then he relaxes. He looks between you both. He slowly nods though.
Minho gives him a smile, showing off his fangs once more. He has to notice it, you think, but he says nothing again. You take Hyunjins hand, and Minho walks behind you both out of the bar.
Hyunjin had made so many pretty noises, and that's when you and Minho both decided to keep him. In the heat of the moment Minho had asked if he could bite Hyunjin and when he nodded his fangs had sunk into Hyunjins skin making him cum once more. Hyunjin had only noticed the two small bites when he had gone to yours and Minhos bathroom.
Minhos' hands had wrapped around Hyunjins waist. "You're ours now. Forever." Minho had told him as you showered not too far away from the both of them. Hyunjin was in slight shock, and that was until Minho had explained everything. Then he was surprisingly calm about it.
"Sweetheart? You're not listening to me again." Hyunjin is frowning once more. "I'm sorry. I was thinking about how we had met." You admit to him. Hyunjin then laughs at you. "Sweetheart, that was almost 100 hundred years ago. You're thinking of past me when I'm currently in front of you. You could jump my bones now instead of thinking about the first time we had sex." Hyunjin leans across and presses a kiss to your lips.
"Could you sing for me, my love?" You ask as he pulls away. Hyunjin gives you a smile and presses a sweet quick kiss to your lips. "Later. I'll sing to you and Minho. I'm sure he'll be tired after his meeting. It'll help lure him to sleep." Hyunjin gives you a smile, and you nod.
"I love you." You admit to him. Hyunjin smile doesn't disappear. Instead, you think it gets even wider. "I love you too. Have for the last 99 years. Now, please find someone to snack on." Hyunjin presses a kiss to your head.
Your eyes scan the crowd once more. No one catches your eyes until you see a curly haired man. You even think your heart stops for a second. Hyunjin must sense your panic, and that's when his eyes trail off towards your target. You think you hear his heart stop for a second, too.
"That's not- That couldn't be right?" Hyunjin asks you. If it's not you, then you think you're seeing a ghost in the flesh. "Please tell me we're looking at the same thing." Your eyes can't seem to leave the curly haired boy. It's been almost fifty years. Fifty years since he had passed in your arms.
"Jisung?" Hyunjin is quick to stand up and grab your hand. He's pulling you in the direction, and you're not sure if you can face him. What if it's not? What if he remembers? What if he knows his death was all your fault? Hyunjin notices you on the verge of a panic attack, and he's turning towards you once more.
"Hey, calm down. I can hear your heart beating out of your chest." Your eyes stay locked on Jisung, though. Hyunjin grabs your face, though, and forces you to tear your eyes away. "Sweetheart, that was never your fault. You did everything to save him that day. Okay? Me and Minho know that, and I'm sure Jisung knows that. If he remembers, I'm sure he doesn't blame you." Hyunjin tries to reassure you. It helps some. He presses a kiss to your lips.
"Do you want to go sit back down? We don't have to do this. It might not even be him." Hyunjin is looking at you worried. You shake your head because deep down, you know it's him. "No. Let's go. I need to know for sure." You admit to Hyunjin. He nods at you, and then his hand intertwines with yours once more.
Hyunjin looks back over to the booth. Jisung is sitting alone, and you both make your way over. Hyunjin, let's go of your hand as you go over, and you both slide into the booth on both sides of him.
Doe eyes look up at Hyunjin, and then they fall on you. You can feel your heart in your throat. It's definitely Jisung. His cheeks are a little rounder, and glasses now adorn his face. He has a striped sweater on, and you want nothing more than to pull him into your hold.
"Oh hi." Jisung tells you. He's clearly surprised by both of your presence, but he doesn't look at you full of hate. "Hi. We saw you across the club. You're all by yourself?" Hyunjin asks, and Jisung shakes his head. You wonder if it's already too late.
"No. My friends dragged me here." He tells Hyunjin. Hyunjin is looking at him as if he has the world in his eyes. "Why'd they leave someone as cute as you alone? Anyone could just come over and scoop you right up." Hyunjin tells Jisung, and that makes him laugh.
Jisung shrugs his shoulders. "They wanted to drink and get laid." You still haven't said anything, and Hyunjin glances at you. "What's your name?" You're finally able to ask. Jisungs eyes fall on you. "Han Jisung. My friends call me Han." He tells you with a smile.
"What if we wanted to be more than friends? Then what would we call you?" You ask him with a smile starting to relax. Something always had you relaxing around Jisung. He laughs at your question once more. He shrugs his shoulders, and you can't help but want to kiss the man in front of you silly. He's just too cute. "I guess whatever you want to call me then."
"What are your names?" He asks, turning towards Hyunjin. Your eyes fall to his throat and look for a sign of any bite marks. Your eyes don't find anything, though. You glance up at Hyunjin, and he shakes his head. None whatsoever. He's not turned.
"Hyunjin. This is my girlfriend yn. She seems to be obsessed with you more than me, though at the moment. I can't blame her, though. You're cute." Hyunjin watches as Jisung gets flustered at his comment and chuckles.
Jisungs eyes fall back on you. "Thank you both. That's nice to hear. I get a lot of compliments. Usually, it's just to get me in bed, though." Jisung admits to you. You can't help but feel jealous at the comment.
"Well, you're definitely gorgeous. I can see why people would want to take you to bed. You seem so kind and genuine, though." You tell him, and you want to run your fingers through his curls. You wonder if he moans how he used to.
Jisung gets shy at your words. "Thank you. I wouldn't mind sleeping with you both, though." Jisung mumbles out. Hyunjin looks at him with lust filled eyes, though. "Are you a virgin?" Hyunjin asks clearly unbelievably turned on at the idea of corrupting Jisung all over again.
Jisung looks away from his gaze and down at his sweater paws. "Yeah? I'm sorry if that turns you off. You can leave. I know I'm not experienced, and you're probably looking for someone with more experience." Jisung is playing with his sweater paws, refusing to look up at either of you. How many people had turned down this gorgeous man after finding out he was a virgin?
Hyunjin is bringing a hand under Jisungs chin. Hyunjin looks like he's going to devour him any second. "Would you let us?" Hyunjin asks the lust seeping into his voice. Jisung looks at him confused. "Let us be your first?" Hyunjin is looking at Jisungs lips. Jisungs lips dart out to wet his lips. He nods at Hyunjin. Hyunjin smiles at him, showing off one of his fangs. He's turning Jisungs head towards you.
"Kiss her. You can go ahead and kiss her. I don't mind, and neither would our boyfriend." Jisung is clearly taken aback at Hyunjins words. However, hearing Hyunjin give him the okay has Jisung leaning in. His lips meet yours, and they're perfect against your lips. It's like they melt together, and Jisung is clearly enjoying the kiss as much as you.
When he pulls away, his glasses are threatening to fall off his face. Your hand comes up and pushes them back onto his face with a laugh. He already looks dazed out.
Jisungs eyes look at Hyunjin. "Want a kiss from me too, pretty boy?" Hyunjin asks with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. Jisung nods, and then Hyunjins lips are Jisungs. It's something you could truly watch forever. You can't help but wonder if Jisungs lips would mold just as well with Minhos. You were sure it would. Hyunjin pulls from the kiss and you think Jisung might just cum in his pants already.
"Your place or ours?" You ask him. "Mine. It's only a few blocks." Jisung gets out, and Hyunjin chuckles. "Someone eager to be played with." Jisung nods at Hyunjins words. Hyunjin grabs Jisungs hand, and Jisung takes yours. Your heart beats out of your chest as he holds it all the way to Hyunjins car.
Even as Jisung slides into the passenger seat, you can't help but stare at him. You wonder if this is some kind of ancestor of the Jisung you knew, but you highly doubted it.
Hyunjin starts the car and places a hand on Jisungs thigh. Jisung looks nervous, and you can't help but want to calm him. "My love." It falls from your lips without thought. Jisung looks at you but says nothing about your words as you lean forward. "You look nervous. We won't touch you unless you want it. The whole point is to enjoy tonight." Your words seem to calm him somewhat, yet he still looks slightly nervous. You knew a part of him was bound to be nervous sleeping with two strangers.
Jisung nods finally, but you watch as his Adam's apple bobs up and down. You can hear his racing heartbeat and the blood pumping throughout his body. You wish you could sink your teeth into him right then and there, but this was not the same man who had let you drink his blood so many years ago. Your eyes travel over his body. "Right here." He tells Hyunjin, and he pulls into a small one bedroom apartment.
It doesn't take long before Jisung gets to the front door, and he fumbles with his keys slightly. "I'm sorry. Don't mind the mess, please. I don't really have people over, and I didn't have time to clean up." Jisung opens the door while you and Hyunjin follow behind him. He slips his shoes off at the front door while you and Hyunjin do the same.
Your eyes look over the room, and it's perfect, really. It's small and minimalistic, but Jisung had never been one for much detail. Even in his past life. There's a takeout container on the counter, which Jisung is quick to get rid of. You can't help but giggle out. Jisung looks up at you doe eyed and clearly a little confused. "It fits you. It's cute, really." You give him a small hoping he knows you're genuine. He smiles at your words.
Hyunjins hands slip around your waist, and he places his head on your shoulder. "I should go clean my room some real quick. I'm really sorry. I just wasn't really prepared. Give me like two minutes." Jisung brings a hand up to fix his glasses, and when you both nod, he disappears into his room.
"He's just as cute as before." Hyunjin presses a kiss to your neck, and you sigh out. "He is. He's still as clumsy and messy, though. Remember when he had tried to make dinner on our first anniversary." You laugh out, and Hyunjin chuckles against your skin. "I'm glad Minho had stopped him. This version of Jisung at least can order takeout." Hyunjin is smiling against your skin.
"This is cute, though. Maybe we should have Jisung decorate our house. Minho doesn't really have an eye for decor." You remind Hyunjin, and he snickers. The door to Jisungs room opens.
"You can come in. I fixed it up somewhat." Jisung tells you both, keeping his door open. Hyunjin lets go of you and follows behind you as you make your way into Jisungs room. Your eyes glance around, and it's just as simple. A laptop sits on the table, and a small lamp sits by his bedside.
You turn around to face Jisung once more. Hyunjin watches as the door closes as Jisung looks at you both. Hyunjin is quick to pin him against the back of his door. "Pretty boy. Do you want to know what I do to pretty boys?" His hands pin Jisungs above his head. Hyunjin lips hover over Jisungs.
"What?" Jisung asks as his tongue darts out to wet his lips. Hyunjin smirks at him. "I eat them." Hyunjin has a playful glint in his eyes, and you watch as a shiver goes throughout Jisungs body.
You come beside them, and Jisungs eyes look at you for help. Hyunjins face moves away from his. Hyunjin refuses to let Jisung go, though. Your hand comes up to Jisungs jaw, making him look at you. "You're so pretty. Can I kiss you?" You ask him. He nods his head quickly, and you smile. Your lips go to Jisungs, and he's quick to relax into it. They're soft, just like how you remember them. You could truly kiss him forever. You try to file away how they feel against yours. You pull away only when you hear Hyunjin chuckles.
Jisung is breathing heavily, and you're not sure how long you had kissed him. It had only felt like seconds, really. "I thought he might pass out, sweetheart. You were trying to kill him, huh? Death by kiss?" Hyunjin teases you, but then your lips are on Hyunjins. Jisung is looking at both of you in wonder and awe. You and Hyunjin just seem to fit so well together. You pull away, and Hyunjin smirks at you.
Hyunjin looks back down at Jisung. "You want another kiss from me? You seemed to really enjoy the earlier kiss. Or would you prefer my cock in that pretty mouth of yours." Jisung whimpers at Hyunjins words. Hyunjin laughs out and presses a kiss to Jisungs lips. It's quick and yet so passionate. Everything about Hyunjin was passionate though.
Hyunjin lets go of Jisungs wrists. "I'll let you play with sweetheart here first. She loves breaking pretty boys like you. The tears turn on her." Hyunjin whispers against his ear. Jisung lets out another whimper as Hyunjin moves away.
"Don't let him fool you. He's a needy little sub usually." You tell Jisung. Jisung glances at Hyunjin, who rolls his eyes. Hyunjin sits on Jisungs bed, manspreading while leaning back on his arms.
Jisung eyes come back to lay on you. Your hands come to his hips, and he's looking at you clearly affected already by the mix of yours and Hyunjins presence. "I'll be gentle tonight. I can't say the same for Jinnie, though." Your eyes glance at your boyfriend who looks smug at you.
Your lips place a gentle kiss at his throat. He moans out, and you can tell he's sensitive. Your lips continue to kiss his throat, and eventually, you start leaving hickeys. Jisung is like jelly in your hands, and you think if it wasn't for your hands on him, he would've already fallen to the ground.
You pull away when you think you've left enough, and he looks so gone already. "You want me to ride you pretty boy?" You ask Jisung. He takes a deep breath at your words. "Please?" It comes out breathless and so desperate. You chuckle as you lead him to the bed.
You climb into Jisungs lap and press another kiss to his lips. Your hands go to his sweater. You grab the end of it and pull it over his head. You watch as he whines as the cold air hits his nipples. Your hands run over his chest. "Look at you." You can't help but stare, and he gets shy at your words. Your hands go to his face, moving them. "Don't hide that pretty face." You tell him. Jisung turns red at your words.
You stand up once more. Your hands go to his pants and lifts so you can remove him jeans and boxers. Your eyes land on his painfully hard cock. "Pretty." You mumbles out making him shy once more. Your hand goes to the bottom of your skin tight dress and lift it over your head. You see Jisung hold his breath as you drop it to the ground.
"She's gorgeous, isn't she?" Hyunjin asks Jisung. Jisung nods, not being able to take his eyes off your body. "Gorgeous." Jisung mumbles out, and you smile.
You climb in his lap once more. He looks uncertain about touching you. "Go ahead. You can touch me, Sungie." The pet name falls from your lips, and he gulps. He still hesitates, but then you grab his hands. "Take my bra off." You tell him moving his hands to your back.
Jisungs hands go to your bra. He struggles for a second before he's successful, and it slips down your arms. Your breasts are now on display, and Jisungs eyes get even wider. His tongue darts out his lips once more as his eyes stare at your chest.
"You want a taste?" You ask him, and his eyes finally look up at you. He nods gently. "Go ahead." You sweetly tell him. His lips attach to your nipple and he sucks on it gently. He looks so sweet with his glasses on as he suck on your breasts. His eyes stare up at you as you moan out.
Jisung eventually pulls away, but it's only to bring your other breasts into his mouth. Hyunjins eyes are on the both of you, and it only serves to turn you on more. Your hand goes to Jisungs hair, and he eventually releases your breasts with a pop. His lips are wet with saliva and puffy. You think he would've continued to do that if you hadn't pulled him away.
Your hands go to your panties, and you slide them off. "You still want this?" You ask once more. Jisung eagerly nods. You line yourself up with him before you sink down slowly. Jisung lets out a whimper, and your head falls into his throat. One of your hands stays in his hair, holding him to you. You can't help but moan. After fifty years, he's once more inside you, and he couldn't feel more perfect to you.
His hands are on your waist, and eventually, you bottom out. His fingers, however, dig into your side. It's painful yet pleasureful. You were sure there'd be crescent moon shapes at your waist when he'd pull away. You let him adjust to the feeling. Eventually he's trying to roll his hips up and fuck into you. You ultimately give in and almost completely rise up off of him but then your hips are coming down once more knocking a moan out of yours and his lungs.
You start a good rhythm, and it seems to be driving Jisung crazy. Your lips are against his neck, and you can hear the blood rushing throughout him. For a second, you think about turning him right then and there, but you couldn't do that. You didn't have the heart. Especially knowing Jisung didn't want to be turned until your second anniversary that he had never made it to.
You want to cry having him in your arms once more, but that would ruin the mood. Instead, you kiss his neck once more, relishing in his touch. You know Hyunjin can sense how emotional you are right now, and that's why he doesn't comment. He doesn't tease like he usually would. Instead, he's staring at you both with hearts in his eyes. How he wished Minho was here to see this.
You can tell Jisungs close because his whimpering and moans have gotten higher. "You're going to cum? Cum for me Sungie. You can cum inside me." Your words turn him on unbelievably more and it only takes a few more bounces and he's cumming inside you. You ride him through his orgasm and soon you're pushed over the edge. Your hips stop moving and your moaning into his neck. Jisungs grip on you is harsh and rough.
Jisung whimpers as you move against him once more wishing you could fuck his cum deeper but he's clearly overstimulated. You pull off of him and he whines at the loss. Your lips meet his trying to quiet him and it seems to do the job.
You pull away, and his glasses are falling off. You push them up onto his face once more. Your body feels weak having cum so hard. You move from him and Hyunjin places a kiss on your head. "You did such a good job." Hyunjin whispers to you.
Hyunjin looks at Jisung, who seems dazed but not out of it completely. "You're really so pretty. I know I've said that, but it's true." Hyunjins hand goes to Jisungs cock. He strokes it once and Jisung is trying to pull away from his touch. "Would you like me to fuck you Sung? I know your poor cock is sensitive right now but I really want to know what your pretty ass feels like when I fuck into it." Hyunjin asks and Jisung nods at him eagerly at the mention.
Hyunjins hands go to undo his own belt, but then Jisung is moving his hands. "So eager." Hyunjin looks at him like he's his next prey as Jisung pulls his pants and boxers down. Jisung gulps at the size of Hyunjin. He's long, and Jisung doesn't even think he has a toy the size of Hyunjin.
"What if- What if it doesn't fit?" Jisung looks up at Hyunjin. He realizes what he's said, and his face turns red as Hyunjin laughs. Hyunjins hand comes to Jisungs face. "I'll make it fit, baby. Haven't taken anything as big as me?" Hyunjin asks Jisung, and he shakes his head. "That's okay. It just means I'll have to be careful." Hyunjin tells him.
Hyunjin presses a kiss to Jisungs lips. "Turn around for me and ass up." Hyunjin watches as Jisung does as he asks clearly still unsure how Hyunjin was going to fit inside him.
Hyunjin runs a hand along Jisungs back trying to relax him. "You got to relax or it won't feel good." Hyunjins eyes looks at you. You're in front of Jisung and he's biting his lip nervously.
"You want Jinnie to fuck you right?" You ask and Jisung nods. "You have any lube?" Hyunjin asks Jisung. "Dresser." Jisung eyes are still on you. "You have to relax. Jinnie doesn't want to hurt you baby." Jisung nods at your words and he slowly starts to relax.
Hyunjin squirts some lube out of the tube. "It's cold." Hyunjin warns him as he squirts some over Jisungs ass. Jisung shivers and lets out a moan. Then Hyunjin is pushing a finger inside him. Jisung takes a deep breath and you distract him by kissing his lips. Eventually the pained expression on his face leaves and its replaces by pure pleasure. Jisung is moaning into your mouth and you pull away. "There we go. Think you can take another?" Jisung nods and Hyunjin pushes another finger inside making Jisung go limp.
Your hand goes to Jisungs hair running a hand through it. He relaxes even more and eventually Hyunjin has three fingers inside him. "You ready to take Jinnie?" You ask Jisung. He lifts his head up with a nod. "Please! Fuck me Jinnie!" Jisung begs and Hyunjin pulls his fingers out. It makes him whine for a second but then the moan that leaves his chest as Hyunjin enters him is guttural.
Jisung is completely limp and his head meets the bed once more. Hyunjin has already set a brutal pace and Jisung seems to be taking it well. "You're taking Jinnie so well Sung." You tell him and he's lifting his head up. His tongue lolls out his mouth and his eyes are trying to focus on you but it's hard when Hyunjin is fucking so deep into him.
"You're so tight Ji. Going to make me cum already." Hyunjin breathes out harshly letting out his own moans and groans. Jisung glasses are sliding off his face and your hand is coming up to fix them. Jisung is totally blissed out between the both of you.
Jisung has never felt this good. None of his toys have ever hit this deep inside him. It's driving him insane and to the edge once more. Each thrust just seems to be deeper and deeper. Then he feels it. Hyunjin hits his prostate and Jisung loses all his thoughts once more. A shriek is heard and Hyunjin knows he's found it. He's thrusting into that spot over and over.
Hyunjins hand is wrapped around Jisungs waist keeping his whole body from meeting the sheets. "You feel this?" Hyunjin is grabbing one of Jisungs hands. He presses it to Jisungs stomach and he can feel Hyunjin bulging through him. That's enough for Jisung to cum once more.
Jisung cums so much that he thinks he might actually pass out and for a second he does lose consciousness. Once he's blinking his eyes open he can feel Hyunjins cum inside him. Hyunjin is still rolling his hips throughout his high.
"You did so good baby. Took Jinnie so well." Your hand is cupping Jisungs face and placing kisses all over it. It's so intimate but Jisung doesn't register it. He does register when Hyunjin pulls out letting out a whine hating the feeling of being empty already.
Hyunjin is scooping some of Jisungs cum up and bringing it to your lips. Your lips wrap around his finger and Jisung thinks he might cum again. He's so exhausted though.
Jisungs eyes are already shutting and Hyunjin is lifting him off the bed carrying him to his bathroom. You're left in his room and he sees you stand up off the bed and grab his sheets. That's all he can see before Hyunjin brings him into his bathroom.
Jisung is sore. He hears Hyunjin start a bath for him and place him on the counter. He should be grossed out at the feeling of Hyunjins cum leaking out of him and onto the counter but he's too tired to care.
Once the bath is filled with water. Hyunjin places Jisung gently into the tub. He can feel his muscles relax and Hyunjin disappears from the bathroom. It's only a few seconds Jisung thinks but his eyes keep closing so much that it could've been an hour. Hyunjin has clothes for Jisung.
You're then entering the bathroom. "You did a number on him Jinnie." You tell him crossing your arms as you lean against the counter. Hyunjin looks back at you. "As if you didn't." Hyunjin replies back. "Touché." You reply back with a smile.
"You can sleep Sungie. We'll take care of you." Hyunjin tells him. Jisung really tries to keep his eyes open but sleep calls him. His eyes close and drifts into unconsciousness.

Slay The Princess Ramble
Ok I have been having Thoughts about the Voice of the Contrarian and am not afraid to share them. Will start under read more link because this might get a little long.
Ok, one of the Main Things about the Contrarian is that he doesn't follow the narrative, and I accept this, but I cannot emphasize enough just how Different he is from the other voices.
Ok, let's start at the tip of the iceberg here. Change. Born as counterparts to the Shifting Mound's Princesses, it makes sense that the Voices remain static in their personalities. Broken is submissive. Cold is apathetic. Hunted is animalistic. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. But Contrarian actually changes over the course of The Stranger path. He sees what he's done to the Princess, recognises that it has hurt her, and just ... drops the jester act immediately. The only other Voice that really changes at all is Hero, and that's because he's literally always by your side. And that's not even getting to how you find him Strange Beginnings.
Strange Beginnings. Oh, do I have Feelings about this ending, but I'll focus on just the Contrarian (for now). Out of all the Voices, all the cabins, the Contrarian is the only Voice other than the Hero himself that can join you in the finale. Maybe it's because his change has made him closer to the Shifting Mound than any of the other potential voices. Maybe it's because inside of The Stranger's cabin was the first you saw, rather than the Princess'. Maybe it's something else altogether, I don't know. However, what I do know is that once again, he's changed. He's ... honestly more downtrodden than even the Moment of Clarity version of himself. Only making jokes when he notices Hero's concern, accepting the knife without a second thought, (even calling himself the worst part of the Long Quiet in the most recent update, I've heard). But that's still not the end of things.
I think what interests me the most about Contrarian, though, is his relationship with the princess. He. Does. Not. Have. One. She is a literal stranger to him. He is not the Stranger's true counterpart, not really. Nothing about him contradicts her, unlike how all the other Voices have been named after their actions relative to their Part I Princesses. Instead, he is the Contrarian because he contradicts the Narrator. I can not emphasise enough how wild that makes my brain go. Because it explains SO MUCH about why he's Different from the others. Long Quiet is a foil for the Shifting Mound, his Voices are foils for her Princesses. Everything about them is static, unchanging. Because they are a single being, spiralling further into itself with every decision you make, only ever changing if you refuse to follow the path set out for you. And then there's him, the reflection of an echo of a mortal. (If he was there in the Spectre route, would she see him as something Other as well, something that once belonged but has been fragmented off of its given path).
Gah I'm obsessed with him. I want to dissect him for science. I want to tear and rip and pull him apart until I can understand what mysteries still hide behind the facade he shows the world. What are you hiding, you smiling little freak of nature?

Maybe something happens when they are on the field or a particular mission together and something transpires. A bit of angst but also more fluff please!! Thank you so much 🩵🩵
Memories Together - Mafia! Jisung x Recruit! Fem Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: brief mention of human trafficking, kidnapping, overall a more fluff/laid-back mafia fic (coming from me)
A/N: hello anon!! How are you? I'm so sorry it took me so damn long to create your request and hello to my tumblr peeps, I am alive. I'm so sorry for not updating for so long. Trust me, I want to write but life really took a toll on me and I'm not mentally feeling okay but I'm trying my best. I AM FINALLY GOING TO SEE NCT DREAM THIS SATURDAY. AFTER FAILING SO MANY TIMES, I FINALLY AM GOING TO SEE THEM.
OKAY ENOUGH RAMBLING. ONTO THE FIC!!
NCT HQ - 1:27 pm (3rd POV)
“Wait, you’re actually going to let everyone have not only a whole day but the whole weekend off instead of switching shifts?” Doyoung asked in the meeting room where all of the NCT members were in
“Tell me who on earth in this room has had a proper holiday since we first basically became a well-known established brand both as a mafia and in daily life” Taeyong asked and no one in the room raised their hand at all
“You see what I mean. No one is going to die when we all; and I mean this whole entire HQ go on a break for the whole weekend from this Friday” Taeyong argued. “Even if there’s something, I would know about it and broadcast it to the rest of you first”
“I mean, unless all of you don’t want a break then….”
Taeyong didn’t even finish his sentence before everyone broke off and complained, some bullying Doyoung because he’s one of the only members who worries about what would happen if the whole NCT HQ would go on a few day of break.
Johnny and Haechan even complained about how they were already planning to spend the whole weekend with their girlfriends and even go on a double date. “Look Hyung, we know that you are worried but some of us have girlfriends whom we are so lucky that are patient with us and we really want to take them out, right Johnny-hyung?” Haechan teased Doyoung while Johnny agreed with him
“Really? You guys are teasing me at this kind of time?!” Doyoung complained and he was about to go on another debate with Haechan and Johnny until Taeyong stopped them first
“Enough!!” Taeyong announced, banging his head on the table, grabbing all of his members’ attention. “Everyone is going to have this weekend starting from Friday off. Should anything happen. I will personally contact you all myself. Do I make myself clear?”
Everyone in the whole room nodded without uttering anything.
“Good. You’re all dismissed. Just finished up whatever deadline you all have for the week. As for your personal deadlines, they’re your own responsibility. You’re all dismissed then” Taeyong announced and everyone stood up then bowed before leaving the meeting room.
“Jisung, what are you going to do during your break?” Shotaro asked as he and Sungchan were heading out side by side with Jisung
“Nothing much. I was going to ask Chenle if he wanted to go to the amusement park that just opened but Renjun-hyung mentioned that he and Chenle were going back to China to visit their family”
Jisung, Shotaro and Sungchan were talking together, about to head back to their dorm when someone bumped into them and several papers were flying on the ground. Immediately, Jisung turned to apologise and was about to help the person when he saw someone who he hadn’t seen in a while.
“(y/n)…” Jisung whispered, looking at the girl who was his age. The girl that he spent a lot of time with before he was promoted to NCT
“H-hi, Jisung, Sungchan and Shotaro oppa. Sorry for bumping into you” you bowed at the three NCT members and quickly gathered the paper that was scattered. “I’ll be heading out now”
You were about to leave the scene but Jisung’s large hands held you back. “A-aren’t you also going to be on break throughout the weekend?”
You nodded. “We are, actually”
Hearing your answer, the next words to come out of Jisung’s mouth were so sudden that it caught everyone off guard. “Do you want to go and hang out this weekend? There’s a new carnival in town and I was planning to go there with Chenle but he’s heading back to China with Renjun-hyung and…”
Realising what he had just said, Jisung immediately stopped talking and actually thought his words this time. “I mean. It’s been so long since we hung out. I know that I’ve been busy since I was promoted to an NCT member but. Damn. I just wanna know if you want to hang out like we used to? With Shotaro and Sungchan-hyung too?”
You looked over at Shotaro and Sungchan who both gave you a smile which made you remembered of the times the four of you along with Eunji would always sneak away during weekends just to hang out together.
You were just about to answer Jisung but Doyoung called out to the three young members first. “Jisung, Shotaro, Sungchan, Taeyong need you guys to go check up on some things in town with the others”
Jisung for once was about to interfere with his hyung’s request until you opened your mouth first. “Looks like you guys need to finish up some things before the break. I also need to finish some things as well. I’ll see you guys soon”
You gave the three a light smile before bowing at Doyoung and leaving the four NCT members in the hallway.
When the weekend rolled around, you still weren’t sure if Jisung meant what he said and when you didn’t receive a text from him, you thought that you were foolish to think that Jisung, Shotaro, and Sungchan would actually want to meet up with you.
“They’re all part of NCT now, what were you even thinking? Even if they’re on break right now, they’re still an essential part of the group and you’re not really in that picture” you thought to yourself but then you suddenly got a text message from Jisung himself
Jisung: Hey (y/n), I’m so sorry that I have only gotten your number
Jisung: I know it would be better to ask you directly if you changed your number but instead I asked Haechan-hyung to sort of dig up your number
Jisung: I also know that it might be quite late to ask you but if you’re still up to meet up, Shotarto, Sungchan-hyung, and I will come over
Jisung: If not, I’ll bring over your favorite food, sushi with boba
Jisung: Actually, I’ve already bought it and am heading to drop it off
Reading all the text that Jisung spammed just made your heart swell and you immediately texted him back while also getting ready to head out.
You: I’m getting ready, we’re eating the food you brought before leaving. Also, you’re the one that’s paying for the whole day
Immediately, within a few seconds, Jisung spammed your text again which made you giggle knowing how he is when it comes to texting you. How he would text you short messages but immediately one after the other.
Jisung: REALLY?! OKAY
Jisung: you don’t have to wear anything fancy
Jisung: not saying that you don’t look good with fancy clothes
Jisung: but we’re planning to go to the new amusement park
Jisung: also is it alright if Chenle comes with us?
Jisung: well, that was just a statement
Jisung: he’s forcing himself to come with us
Jisung: we’ll be there soon
Jisung: but take your time, don’t worry!
Not long after Jisung texted, he arrived in front of your apartment door and you quickly opened to welcome him and the other 3 NCT members into your small unit.
“Make yourself comfortable. I’m sorry that it isn’t as big as your guys’ unit but I’m content with the small space since it’s more manageable this way” you mentioned, letting the four boys in as you headed to your room to grab some things
“Always the minimalist, aren’t you? You barely changed anything in the place” Sungchan stated, looking around
“We got several of your favourite sushi” Shotaro added, placing the bags onto your counter as Jisung headed to your kitchen to grab some utensils
“The three of you looked like you’ve lived here before” Chenle pointed out as you came out of your room wearing a plain beige T-shirt, denim shorts, and puffer jacket with a shoulder bag
You were about to comment on Chenle’s statement but Jisung countered him first. “Because we did. The four of us along with Eunji were all in the same group. (Y/N) and Eunji used to live together whereas the three of us lived right next door to them”
“Ah, so she’s the roommate that you were talking about that one time” Chenle commented which made you wonder what has Jisung talked about with the NCT members
The five of you then ate the food that Jisung brought before heading out to the amusement park just opened. Of course, being the NCT members they were, they managed to get the whole day free pass before anyone else.
The five of you started to do some window shopping, went on a few easy-going rides here and there. By noon, you and Jisung were seperated from the other three and just walked around the amusement park with ice cream in each of your hands.
“Are you having fun?” Jisung asked, looking at you which made you look back at him
“I am. Thank you for inviting me out. I really appreciate it. I thought that you’ve forgotten about me ever since the three of you became part of NCT” you tried to joke but instead, Jisung stopped in his tracks which confused you
“What’s wrong?” you looked at Jisung who had an expression you couldn’t quite guess until he actually talked. “I, I didn’t mean for you to feel that way. I swear. I won’t forget someone like you. Especially when Taeyong-hyung brought the two of us together at the same time”
“Don’t remind me of that day. It was scary but you convinced me and I don’t regret it honestly” you admitted which instantly made Jisung look more cheerful than usual
“Really?! I mean, I’m glad. Trust me, I would never forget about you. Not me, not Sungchan or Shotaro or even Eunji. It’s just that we’ve been busy and I know that’s a lame excuse for not contacting you that much but we promise that we’ll definitely try to make time for you. I’m sure Eunji would also love to hang out but you know, she’s caught up with Taeyong-hyung and….” Jisung rambled on but you grabbed his wrist and just dragged him with you
“Can you shut up and enjoy the moment while we can? It’s not everyday we get to have a day off and for this long at that” you mentioned making Jisung smile and intertwining his fingers with yours which caught you off guard for a moment
“What are you waiting for then? Let’s go!!” Jisung exclaimed and this time he was the one dragging you with him
Amusement Park - 09:02 PM
Right before the amusement park closed, Chenle, Shotaro and Sungchan wanted to go to the escape room attraction but Jisung didn’t want to join because he saw that you were a bit tired but you told him that you were fine and that you just wanted to enjoy the last bits of the day with your teammates.
In the middle of the escape room, you didn’t know what was happening but Chenle told the rest of you to stop in your tracks and that something was off. Chenle then asked Sungchan to help break down one of the walls which confused you but you noticed that the other three men including Jisung followed through with Chenle’s instructions and sure enough it led to another tunnel elsewhere.
Chenle immediately asked Shotaro to contact one of the hyung-line from NCT while he went to investigate. You were worried at first but Jisung reassured you that you would be okay with them. “Trust me, you’re safer with us than going out on your own. I don’t think I’ll be okay with you going out on your own as well”
You looked at Jisung and only now did you realise that while his looks haven’t really changed, he did look and act more mature than usual which made you trust him. “Okay, I trust you”
“Okay young lovebirds, come on. I think that there’s some people in here” Chenle stated, sending shivers down your entire body
Walking into the tunnel itself took some time because it was narrow and there was barely enough space for the five of you to walk side by side. But the five of you knew that you were closer to where you needed to be when you heard muffling sounds.
When you did reach the end of the tunnel into another room where there were several bodies around the room. Some looked to be unconscious whereas others looked distressed. Most of them were young girls that seemed to be around your age.
You saw Chenle and the others help each of the people there made you go around to help them as you heard Shotaro telling Chenle that the hyung members were on their way. “They’re coming so the place will be on lockdown soon”
“Alright. Clearly we all can’t bring this amount of people with us. Some of have to stay and some will go see they hyungs” Chenle mentioned as the others heard him. “(y/n), you and Sungchan stay here. Jisung, Shotaro and I will….”
“I’m staying here with (y/n)” Jisung stated, cutting off Chenle’s words which was a first because the current maknae of NCT almost never cuts his hyungs’ words making Chenle look at him with a stern gaze that you don’t think you’ve seen before
Chenle who now stood in front of Jisung gave of a strong vibe despite being shorter than Jisung. “Let me remind you, Park Jisung. Despite this being our day off, when push comes to shove, you have to stand up. Can’t you see the people around you? Sungchan can stay here because Shotaro and I need you to help us just in case the ones that did this is around”
Walking closer, Chenle decided to whisper his next words to Jisung so no one would hear them. “I know you have feelings for her but there will be times where both of you have to put aside your personal feelings. It’s for the best”
“At least let me make sure that she’s okay with being with Sungchan here” Jisung whispered back as the older member signalled him to be quick
Jisung turned to be in front of you which made you confused for a moment. “Jisung…” you let out but Jisung stopped youf first. “You’re okay with being here with Sungchan to look out for….”
You didn’t let Jisung finish his sentence. “Jisung, I know. We’re both part of the mafia. But more so to help our people. Go Jisung. I can fight for myself. Sungchan is here too”
Smiling at your words, Jisung promised that he’ll be back soon. “Take care. Sungchan, take care of her and the others”
“Park Jisung!” you called out for him before he completely left. “Don’t go against your older members!” Jisung chuckled at your reminder and waved at you
After Jisung, Chenle and Shotaro left. You and Sungchan decided to untie all the others’ restraints. Noting to yourself the treatments that are needed for the majority of the people here. You were helping one of the young girls when they gripped your hand, pulling you downwards to them. “Leave while you still can”
Caught off guard, you decided to question the girl. “What are you talking about?”
“Take your friend and leave. They’ll come for you and when they get you. They’ll…”
“They’ll what?” you asked and before they could answer, you heard something metal was thrown to the ground and Sungchan tried to grab you and make a run for it but the smoke spread out and both you and Sungchan noticed that the smoke smelt differently from usual.
“Poison” you thought to yourself, trying to not inhale any of the smoke
Both you and Sungchan tried to navigate through the smoke but the smoke itself got thicker and eventually covered both your eyesights.
Jisung’s POV
Once I headed out with Chenle and Shotaro-hyung, I couldn’t help but feel that something was off. Sure it was late and there were barely any other visitors in the amusement park this late at night but it was too quiet when we entered the escape room.
Chenle was on the phone with Mark-hyung when I noticed some people were surrounding and were watching us. Shotaro-hyung must’ve noticed it as well because we looked at each other but none of us were going to say anything. Instead, it was Chenle-hyung who stopped and raised his voice.
“Are you all just going to stare at us or are you waiting for do you want to wait for our entire squad to come?” Chenle stated, turning off his phone when we saw a group of people coming towards us and both Shotaro and I were on guard but Chenle signalled us to relax.
“Care to explain to us what you did to our teammates?” Chenle questioned, making me and Shotaro-hyung look at each other but we still tried our best to remain calm even though I was internally worried about what happened to (y/n).
“Why don’t you explain to your teammates? It seems that they look a bit lost there” the guy at the center stated, the other men surrounding them were laughing
“You’re testing our patience here. I may not look like it but I’m quite a patient man. Either you play nice, tell us what you did, and turn yourself in or we’ll do this the hard way” Chenle calmly threatened, putting his hands in his pockets which to them might seem that he looks chill but to us, we know that whenever Chenle does this, he’s clearly annoyed already
“Brams” the center man let out, making Chenle raise his eyebrow as I realised who they were talking about considering it was a big case in NCT as it involved Johnny-hyung and I immediately figured out what they were going to do
Stepping next to Chenle, I decided to see if my theory was true. “Don’t tell me you plan to continue Brams’ plan of human trafficking”
“Looks like the youngest member isn’t that dense. Plus, the addition of your two team members would be nice considering you NCT took away all those other people. We were so close to being rich and making our own mafia that would be better than any of you” one of their members mentioned
His words made me feel sick as I imagine both Sungchan and (y/n) were being held captive and being tortured or who knows what other things they’re going through. But Chenle somehow took notice of my uneasy self but he took his hand out, signalling me to stop myself from doing something that I might regret later on.
Despite Chenle’s signal and eye contact, I was tempted to move forward and tackle them but when I heard someone’s voice, I refrained myself. Instead, I turned to see if my ears were deceiving me but they weren’t.
It was (y/n), Sungchan, along with Mark, Jaehyun, and Johnny-hyung. Plus several others of NCT’s trusted police force. Within a few minutes, everyone of the opposing group was immediately secured as I rushed to (y/n) who looked like she was going to pass out anytime soon but Mark-hyung held me back for a moment.
“Jisung” Mark-hyung called out to me as I turned to see him. “Hyung…Can we talk later? I, I want to make sure that…”
“I know, Jisung. She and Sungchan inhaled quite a bit of poisonous gas but still managed to get out of that prison” Mark-hyung mentioned making me grow even more worried
“They’re being treated. They’re going to be fine, Jisung. (y/n) is going to be alright. I just want to tell you that I’m proud that you managed to compose yourself and listen to Chenle even though I know that that probably took everything in you to do” Mark-hyung praised me right as Chenle came to us
“I know right? He rarely listens to me” Chenle joked as I smacked him
“I do listen. Sometimes. But Mark-hyung, how did you manage to come here so quickly?” I asked which made him and Chenle chuckle
“It was your girl, (y/n). Why do you think I made you come with me and let her and Sungchan deal with those who were captured?” Chenle mentioned, making my eyes widen
“She’s witty and everyone including Taeyong was impressed by her skills” Mark-hyung added on when Johnny and Jaehyun-hyung came
“So impressed that he’s considering of promoting her. Though, after she’s treated and gotten better” Johnny-hyung mentioned
“Really?!” I asked as my hyungs chuckled at my reaction
“Taeyong will let you know next week. You should go back, check up on (y/n) then have several rest days after today” Jaehyun-hyung mentioned and I looked at Mark-hyung who nodded to let me go
“Thank you!! I’ll see you all soon!!” I exclaimed and rushed to go see (y/n)
NCT HQ - 02:05 AM (Jisung’s POV)
Back at the HQ, both (y/n) and Sungchan were immediately being treated by Kun and Jaemin-hyung. After 2-3 long hours, the treatment was done and I immediately stood up, waiting outside of the room while Jaemin and Kun-hyung came out together.
“They’re going to be fine, Jisung” Jaemin-hyung mentioned
“Our treatment helped them recover faster so they should be awake soon or around later in the morning. Why don’t you go get some rest?” Kun-hyung suggested but I shook my head and insisted to see (y/n)
“I’m okay, hyung. I’ve showered, I’ve rested up a bit. I just want to see how she’s doing” I mentioned
Jaemin and Kun-hyung looked at each other before letting me into the room where (y/n) and Sungchan was. Inside the room, I saw (y/n) laying down and sleeping peacefully whereas Sungchan was in a separate room.
“Don’t take too long and let us know if they wake up or if there is anything that happens” Kun-hyung mentioned as he and Jaemin-hyung left me in the room.
Grabbing a nearby chair, I sat next to (y/n)’s bed and brushed some of her hair out of her face before starting to talk to her. “Hey, you did so well today”
“I’m so sorry that our outing turned out the way it did. I promise that we’ll have more time to hang out. Especially with Taeyong-hyung planning to promote you!!” I exclaimed, chuckling at myself knowing that I was only talking to myself
“Even now when I’m already part of NCT, you still amaze me and somehow you would always be a step ahead of me which I don’t mind at all because as your friend, it makes me so proud” I continued my ramble
“But even so, you made me so worried you know. The day I became part of the NCT member, I was so worried about you and I know that I don’t show it but I promise you I do and still am worried about you. You mean more to me than just a friend but I’ve always been a coward to tell you about it. You should know that Chenle would always tease me about it” I rambled on again but stopped when I heard a muffled sound which I turned to see (y/n) starting to wake up
“G-glad to know the feeling is mutual then” I heard her chuckle as I rushed to help her sit on the bed. “A-are you okay? Do you have a hard time breathing? I’ll go get Jaemin or Kun-hyung…”
I rambled on, about to leave because truth be told that I was nervous and embarrassed to face (y/n) after my little confession but (y/n)’s next words stopped and made me rethink. “You’re going to leave me again like last time?”
Immediately, I stopped to turn and look at (y/n) who looked at me with a tired look. I then went back and sat next to (y/n), taking her smaller hands in mine. “Never. I never left you. I always look out for you even from afar. I was a coward for not being real with my feelings because I don’t know. We’re both still young and I’m worried that it’ll ruin our friendship. I know I should’ve been honest earlier”
“Jisung…I’m joking. I know you always watch over me. I know how you would always try to steal glances whenever we passed by each other. Or even the additional snacks that I suddenly got. I know that they were all from you. I’m grateful and happy that you still try your best to look out for me” (y/n) explained
She knew. She knew all of the little things I did for her. “Me too. We’re good right?” I asked, which made (y/n) chuckled
“Why are you so awkward Jisung? I just mentioned that the feeling is mutual. Unless you’re still unsure of your own…” I cut (y/n) off by denying my unsure feelings. “No. Of course I’m not. Maybe I was in our early training days. But not now”
“I’m glad then. So, let’s not worry so much. You said yourself. We’re still young. Let’s just go make more memories together” (y/n) mentioned, making me smile and bringing her hands and kissing her knuckles. “Definitely. Especially since Taeyong-hyung is planning to promote you”
The two of us just giggled and talked the night away until Jaemin-hyung came and scolded me for keeping (y/n) and practically Sungchan-hyung up. “YA! PARK JISUNG! SAVE YOUR RAMBLING FOR NEXT TIME! SOME OF US ARE TRYING TO REST. YOU’RE MAKING A RUCKUS AND EVEN WOKE SUNGCHAN UP”
A/N: next on my nct mafia list is going to be the Mark request (which I have never done a fic of Mark but I will try my best). I hope I'll be able to write a bit more and not leave you guys hanging for so long :') as always, stay safe and be happy xoxo vinet

today is webcomics day. i am bea and i make "A Ghost Story" - part 1: pre-gaming
webcomic day is a yearly celebration of the art form concocted by the screentones podcast team as a way for people to see how the sausage gets made. my webcomic "a ghost story" has been running for over 10 years, and yet i still don't think i can say i am good at making a webcomic. regardless, the comic is getting made because otherwise i become very, very sick in the head. today i would like to share with you the process of making a page of "A Ghost Story" from start to finish. either this demystifies the process or will make you think im so cool and strong for doing this 2x a week. instead of reblogging this one post until it gets very long, i will be posting individual updates that i will then compile and post on my personal website. block the tags now if you HATE comics and want them to EXPLODE.
if you have any questions, even things like "what the fuck are you even talking about" feel free to ask. i want to feel confident in what i make again and i think sometimes interrogation from an outside source is really
---
that said, let's get started. wait just kidding i want a cup of coffee first, hold on.
ok now im ready. i have a big glass of water. i have coffee. i have a headset for the parts of work that don't involve typing words. i can't type words and listen to some streamer babble in my ear at the same time, so it has to be instrumental music or nothing. i just took my meds so they should kick in after about 30 mins. i woke up late today, which is weird and annoying. but maybe i can work late instead.
first off, i need to know where i'm going beyond this one page. if i dont know where im going with something, then i usually create something that sucks that i have to deal with later. hold on my internet died, i have to reset the router. ok, anyway.
what's rattling around in my brain is that not only do i have to deal with maxine's current predicament, i am also dealing with multiple plot elements i need to wrap back around to from the previous chapter. luckily, im about to put maxine down for a nap, which means i can get back to those other elements:
i need to finish the exposition from the three ankou characters for this story arc establishing their motivations as the oppositional force in the story. the "villain" is not these three specifically, but their boss. they need to have a loose understanding of what's going on in order to communicate this to the audience. god this started turning into a huge ass paragraph so i'll just keep it short there.
we've jumped back to before jack's horrible day from the first chapter of this storyline so we have to make our way back toward that and then lapping it, which means wrapping up his various open threads like:
feeding victoria and learning something new about her
finding out alice is a very exceptional employee who is getting many awards
watching valdo call lily while interrupting her during something personal to ask her for help with maxine's situation.
jack meeting with valdo and lily the day after they first met so jack can just tell them straight up that lily has 4 sisters she doesnt know about.
help that girl with her poltergeist problem. remember that. i've had jokes for this rattling in my head for like 4 years. im going insane.
and also the fucking tilberi!!! that has a point its going somewhere!!! there's a larger menace here!!!
other things to set up the climax of this storyline. sexual tensions, hints at larger emotional problems not immediately evident to the reader
lots of moving parts. and i feel like im moving in slow motion to get to them. i can see them all weaving together in my head, its the process of putting that onto paper that's proving difficult.
ok that took an hour starting and stopping. -_- let me write the next part as i keep brainstorming on how to approach this page. taking a "rubber duck" approach to this might help. heres an image from the last page i worked on (i have a 5 page buffer rn so the site does not match the finished pages) to get us semi-situated.
Tumblr media
also because images will help people understand what skill level we're working with here. i need to be able to communicate an idea to the audience; if the art also looks good on top of that, then that's just an added bonus. but the ability to communicate my ideas is sometimes hampered by my lack of artistic skill or comics language ineptitude. like those speech bubbles kind of fucking suck but at a certain point you have to just hit print on what you're working on in order to keep your already glacial pace.
webcomics is a tightrope act where you're also spinning 4 plates at once. the trick is to keep the audience from realizing how many actually fall or how wobbly they all are. the act sucks but technically its not a failure.

SCALES OF JUSTICE - BETA TESTERS NEEDED
Hi dear readers,
Thank you for your overwhelming trust and support. The opinions that I've collected over the past few days have finally motivated me to put aside my self-criticism and doubt, and to make the next step towards SoJ's release.
Yes, Scales of Justice is now officially in its BETA-test phase!!
If you would like to help me by being a BETA-tester for my book, please, comment under this post, send me a direct message, or message me on CoG's forum. I aim to take around 20 to 30 people, so we can have a big and productive group that nonetheless remains constructive in its feedback.
If you don't have the time or you don't want to be a tester, consider sharing this post, so it can get to as many of you as possible.
I will be working alongside the testers on improving style, grammar, and other minor details that require polishing as the month progresses. Hopefully, by the end of it we'll have an even better version of this book that will be submitted for approval to Hosted Games!
See you all very soon,
Julia xx
BOOK DETAILS:
DEMO DESCRIPTION:
Scales of Justice is a fantasy game situated in another world, far away from Earth. There are plenty of species living together in harmony, but the human race is currently split in two civilisations: the one known as Hero kingdom, which is ruled by ‘heroes’, and the one named Vannais kingdom, controled by ‘villains’. Both nations hate each other and the fight between ‘heroes’ and ‘villains’ here is something that happens on a national level. The game is focused on lore, on character development and your own perception of reality: perhaps, your MC just wants to live a peaceful life... or maybe wants to save the world.
Or even rule it, if you’re into such things.
THINGS TO DO IN THIS DEMO:
Set off on a new adventure towards Neutral Lands, to meet a mythic creature of all answers - The Visionary.
Gather up to 3 companions to help you in your quest - befriend, romance or rival them, the choice is yours.
Buy a horse - we know you want one.
Fight, conjure, support, speak or think - choose your way of handling a tricky situation.
Explore the kingdom of Hero up to Menai's shore, in search for someone - or something - to aid you in your journey.
The DEMO version of the book runs up to Chapter 5 and contains 276K words overall. I will be putting up updated versions of the first chapters as I work my way through them, so expect the DEMO version to become a polished reflection of what the final book will look like!
USEFUL LINKS:
If you want to know a little more about this project and read chapters 1-5, I'll leave the link to the game here -> https://dashingdon.com/play/myimaginedcorner/scales-of-justice/mygame/

If you want to send me a more extensive feedback, here's my email -> [email protected]
Any mistakes, concerns or questions you have, feel free to contact me through Tumblr! I am very excited to share this story with all of you, and I want to make it as good as possible with your help!
RO DESCRIPTIONS:
Shoren/Seile -> Heir to the Hero kingdom's throne, right where your journey starts. Also, your old friend who's very attached to you. Likes to read and practices magic, enjoys adventure and heroic deeds. A recognised “hero”, with blonde curly hair, pale skin and a pair of beautiful blue eyes.
Robert/Reina -> Order's Paladin, defender of Hero and Knight of Fate. Brave and honourable, determined to protect the people of the kingdom. Very loyal to friends and very dangerous as an enemy. Has short brown hair, tanned skin and an athletic build.
Valerius/Venis -> An Outworlder, who was caught by cultists from the Wicked Woods. Gracious, elegant and charismatic. Has long dark brown hair with a silver streak, olive skin and golden eyes.
Arion/Aria -> Leader of Vannais, a recognised “villain” who escaped from Hero and now rules the enemy kingdom. Serious, reserved but temperamental. Prefers action over words and so is always present on battlefields and amidst negotiations, even though never in official manner. Has short blonde hair, pale skin and emerald eyes.
Be careful! These characters have their thoughts and opinions on the world and your actions: if you want them to support you, convince them or take their side… or neither. That is your choice after all!

*grips Klug by the shoulders* what is going on with you in this game
I really thought I had it all figured out in my last post, where I determined that Klug is still very much aware of the demon in his book, and that it has some sort of connection to Sig. I even thought it was safe to assume that he still remembered being possessed by it back in Fever 2, because it was the only time it happened where he wasn't confused afterwards.
But then that scene in Schezo's story happened and I have so many more questions. Because this really sounds like someone who doesn't even know that there's anything IN that book?? Which he very obviously does???
I'm not even talking about previous games at this point, because there's been weirder cases of amnesia in this series before; Klug repressing the knowledge he has of his book isn't a farfetched idea. But the problem with it is that this is the only scene (so far) where he's this clueless, and it happens later in the timeline than this one in Risukuma's story (if I've been tracking it right):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Klug's reactions here when Risukuma seems to be on the trail of What's Weird About the Book are absolutely about him wanting to keep Ayashii (whatever he remembers about it) a secret. I mean, would he really be that nervous if all he thought he was going to say was "it's got powerful magic inside of it"? He never really tries to hide that part, seeing as he casts spells with it.
It's even less obvious where in the timeline Accord's conversation with him happens, but he directly references "the tome" being ill at ease, once again suggesting that he at least sort of knows what its deal is. Plus, he says this to his teacher, so the idea that his book has feelings isn't even something he's
And lest we forget, he even gets in an argument with it off-screen. What's up with this "how can a book be fussy" nonsense?? He's not even saying it to cover up Ayashii's existence to other people, he's saying it to himself.
What changed? Is this just some accidental inconsistency, or should we be expecting a scene in a future update to explain it?? I'm losing my marbles over here

Jealousy, Jealousy | Tee Higgins
Summary: Being a model has it perks, your NFL boyfriend becoming jealous is not one of them. based on this ask.
Pairing: you x Tee Higgins (Female perspective)
Requested: Yes | No (Anon)
Warnings: jealousy, angry! Tee, angst, fluff
Note: So I had this imagine written out 10x better, but it had deleted itself from my laptop or it updated without saving so. I apologize that this version sucks but I am still upset. it also deleted my drafted josh allen and sam hubbard imagine so... rip to me tonight.
Tumblr media
“That’s a wrap.” The photographer yelled as he put his camera down and everyone around the set started running to put things away. No doubt that everyone wanted to go home and be able to clock out of work.
Y/N made her way back to the dressing room where the stylist had dressed her for this modeling shoot. It was a bit different than some of the other shoots she did, but it was fun, nonetheless. As much as she loved her job, she couldn’t wait to be home to spend time with her boyfriend.
Her love life was something that she kept private. A decision that both her and Tee, her boyfriend, decided on. Since she was a well-known model and he was in the NFL, keeping quiet seemed like the best way to avoid scandals and to be able to soak in all the relationship. Keeping the relationship private kept the peace but it also brought challenges, since Tee and Y/N both have had to turn down people without letting their relationship spread.
“That was perfect Y/N, now you just have to walk the runway in New York in two weeks and then your set for your vacation.” Your manager was one of the best in the modeling industry and not to mention that some of your work felt like you were working with your best friend.
“Thanks Lydia.” You thanked her before going and hurriedly switched back into your clothing that you came to the studio in. You were more than happy to spend the evening with Tee and a bag of take out, and he just happened to order food from your favorite restaurant. Once all your supplies were gathered, you headed out to the uber that Lydia had arranged for you. You quickly gave the uber driver the address and then texted Tee to let him know that you would be home soon. You quickly tipped your driver once you arrived at your shared house, and then hopped out.
“I’m home!” You called when you walked in through the door. You let your bags hit the floor and gently scooted them to the side before taking off your shoes. “You will not believe the day I had-“You started but stopped when you walked into the kitchen and seen Tee glaring at the computer in front of him. “Hey, you okay?” You asked softly hoping not to startle him.
“You tell me.” He muttered, turning the computer around to face you.
Your eyebrows furrowed before reading over the article that had a picture attached to it. It was one about an upcoming project that had yet to be released but the shoot had already been done. “He’s the one that they made me pose with.” You explained to your boyfriend. “We did the shoot awhile ago.”
“You forgot to mention it was a lingerie shoot.” He accused.
It wasn’t like Tee to be jealous when you worked, as you both knew that you had people throwing themselves at you. You wouldn’t even have enough fingers and toes to count how many people message tee on his Instagram or how many thirsty comments he gets. You overlooked them most of the time because at the end of the day, you were the one he was coming home too. There were days when jealousy swept in, and this must have been the case for Tee as well.
“It was the Calvin Klein shoot.” You replied to his accusation. “I showed you the morning of what I would be wearing, and I told you Alex would be modeling the matching male set.” The explanation wasn’t enough, and Tee just turned the computer back over to face him before typing something.
“Look at the things these guys say about you.” He grumbled, turning the computer around again. Your eyes scanned over the interviews that Tee had popped up on the laptop. Ones where they admitted that they asked you out or thought you were hot. Comments that you had avoided when you worked with these particular people. “Half of these guys are in your phone and message you frequently.” He argued.
“I don’t answer them back! I would never cheat of you Tamaurice.” You started using his full name in hopes of making him realize how dumb it sounds. You cannot control who you work with, and he has had many interviewers leave him endearing comments when he agreed to interviews.
At the wrong time, your phone lit up. A DM from an actor coming through your phone making you stiffen. Tee quickly grabbed your phone off the counter and read the message with a scoff, he placed the phone down. “I’m going out.”
“Tee!” You called as he stormed past you. “You can’t just leave because your jealous!” You argued following him into the garage. “If I was replying that would be a different story. I just want you, why can’t you see that?”
“Who you calling jealous?” Tee grumbled stopping by the driver door of his car. “I’m not jealous I just want respect.”
“I do respect you because if I didn’t, I would be entertaining every single one of those guys.” You snapped. You loved Tee and he knew that. He was just overcome with jealousy that he wasn’t thinking clearly. To be honest, it was about time for him to snap due to jealousy because he hadn’t since the two of you had been together. As for you, you had been in his shoes at least twice since you two have become serious. “I love you; Tee and I know you know that.” You sighed out exhausted from this lovely evening taking a turn before you could even explain anything to him.
After a moment of silence, Tee spoke up. “Don’t wait up.” He muttered before getting into his car. The garage door opened, and he backed his car out of the garage and took off down the street.
You stood there frozen in your spot, tears coming to your eyes. He was mad and Jealousy over something that you had no control over. But maybe it was time for it to happen because you had started feeling a little jealous again too over his comment section on Instagram and TikTok. You blinked the tears away refusing to cry over something that was out of your control. You knew that he would be back, and it was just a matter of when.
It was weird going into the kitchen and enjoying take out by yourself, when you know that Tee had ordered it for your night in. You tried everything to keep your mind off your boyfriend, but nothing worked. You knew that regardless of what he said that you would be up until he came home, even if that was tomorrow.
*A few hours later*
After you finished your food, you made yourself comfortable on the couch. Turning on a movie to try to keep yourself occupied. You were almost asleep about an hour and a half into the movie until you heard the jingle of keys and your front door lock unlocking. Soon the door squeaked open, and you heard footsteps entering the house. A surge of anxiety and worry ran through you, unsure of which Tee was walking in. He had either cooled down and you were going to have a civil conversation, or he was still angry and just refused to stay away. The sound of the door shutting made you take a deep breath as you prepared yourself for whatever was to come. No matter what you were hoping that you could work through it, seeing as if you had done nothing wrong.
“I thought I told you not to wait up.” Tee spoke in a soft tone, letting Y/N know that he may still have been jealous, but the anger was gone or had at least faded.
You shrugged feeling a little at ease that he wasn’t angry, “I wouldn’t have been able to sleep anyways.” You mumbled. You had been used to sharing a bed with your big teddy bear so that even when you worked away, if he stayed home, it was impossible to sleep.
“You were right.” Tee said as he walked into the living area and sat down on the couch beside you. “I was jealous, the most jealous I’ve ever been in my life. I just keep seeing all these articles, interviews, and posts about these guys that you work with or the ones that want to work with you and it’s been getting to me. Not to mention the other celebrities who don’t even know you and just see your work.”
You took in what he said, “Does it bother you that these people are reaching out? Or does it bother you that they’re reaching out because of my body and looks?” you asked him even though you knew that the answer was probably both, but the second one bothered him more.
“Both, but you’re such an amazing person and deserve to be seen passed your body and great looks.” He explained making your heart melt.
How did you get so lucky? You weren’t sure. There were so many women that Tee could have chosen, and he someone ended up with you. “Well, they’ll never get to me passed my pictures or if they’re at my shoots.” You assured him. “I love you, Tee. I’m not going anywhere, and they can try to take me from you, but it isn’t going to work if you want me around.” You assured him even more, knowing what it felt like to be jealous and insecure. “Is it bothering you so much because we met through social media?” You asked knowing there was an underlying issue to this incident.
Tee thought for a moment before realizing that maybe that was the actual problem. The fact that these guys were trying to hit you up the same way that he had. Not to mention that some of them are brave enough to ask you out when they see you in person. “Maybe.” He mumbled. “I’m sorry about earlier, I shouldn’t have gotten upset because like you said, you weren’t entertaining any of them.”
You gave him a thankful smile before placing your hand on his knee, “I get jealous at least twice a month at the minimum, so it’s fine.” She joked. Tee let out a chuckle while shaking his head.
“How did I get so lucky?”
“I ask myself the same thing.”
