"What made you decide to come here?" She asked. Stretching lazily and cat-like, her tight lean lines writhed with a sensual undertone. They were lying on the beach, sand still warm from the heat of the day. Above them a sky full of stars, and lands uncharted twinkled in the midnight blue sky. Not a wisp of cloud obscured the magnificent view. "I just needed to get away from it all. Everything was becoming too hectic and too loud you know? And life just seemed so monotonous." She nodded. "That's the reason why I decided to escape too. To breathe and reconcile with the 'me' I am today. Sometimes it's all too easy to lose little bits of yourself until you become a stranger even to yourself." Turning his head towards her, he reached over to tuck her fringe behind her ear. Bringing his arm up to pillow his head, he gave her a soft smile. "I'm glad you challenged me to see who could swing higher. You do that with just about anyone you meet?" He teased. She crossed one leg atop the other, keeping them bent at the knees, and gently swayed her dangling feet. "Mmm, let me see, I have asked exactly one person who was a total stranger to do that with me. Completely spur of the moment you know?" He grinned in appreciation, "so," he shifted to get up, "shall I challenge you to a re-match?" Without waiting for her reply, he took off running towards the swings, hearing her delighted shout of laughter as he pictured her scrambling up to chase after him. That night for the first time in a long while, she found herself thinking, "the stars do seem like they shine a little brighter tonight." . I had the chance to fabricate my life and fictionalize a colorful past to eclipse the original and easily blend my melancholy secrets into the senseless chatters of the city. This, in fact, painted another dimension in which my childhood was a simplistic history, in periods where I am unable to recall no more than a sad jumble of sensations and emotions: tears, screaming, fear, rejection, guilt, shame, emptiness.
