You know something? I really thought this time would be different. I really thought I could figure it out and have everything planned... But it doesn’t work like that.
Stepping in on everyone else's problems doesn't fix mine. Helping them... does it change the endless void inside? I feel snowflakes on my face in the middle of summer.
I see the rain and think what a beautiful day. Is it depression if the world is still beautiful? If the snow on my face makes me smile because at least I'm still alive?
Is it fair to myself or to my family to really give up? I could change my mind in a matter of seconds, but just like the pain I felt... I would be giving everyone whose life I touched a little bit of pain.
What about them? What about the father who would lose his baby? What about the grandparents who would lose their shining star? What about the little cousins who just wanted to talk? What about the older cousins, who always said they would be there? What about the students who will never be able to forget what happened? What about me, what happens if I change my mind?
My teacher, in Astronomy, was the first one to notice something was off. I want to laugh about it and say it's just a joke. I want to smile and play pretend. But he knew better and I cannot even fathom how he could tell.
How do you say 'thank you' when you wanted to slip behind the curtains and finally let someone else take the wheel?

And I think the worst part of growing up, is starting to hate the ones you used to love.
And you sit there staring at the wall, and you try to love them but they hate you too, and you try to hate them but they love you too.

I don’t know what they are called, the spaces between seconds but I think of you always in those intervals.

For I and he are of such different kinds that no service which is vile can be done to me, and none which is not vile can be done to him. Therefore if any man swear by Tash and keep his oath for the oath’s sake, it is by me that he has truly sworn, though he know it not, and it is I who reward him. And if any man do a cruelty in my name, then, though he says the name Aslan, it is Tash whom he serves and by Tash his deed is accepted.
- Aslan, The Chronicles of Narnia

“Sometimes you meet someone, and it’s so clear that the two of you, on some level belong together. As lovers, or as friends, or as family, or as something entirely different. You just work, whether you understand one another or you’re in love or you’re partners in crime. You meet these people throughout your life, out of nowhere, under the strangest circumstances, and they help you feel alive. I don’t know if that makes me believe in coincidence, or fate, or sheer blind luck, but it definitely makes me believe in something.”
