Left some water bottles in my car overnight last night and I thought they would be frozen when I got them out this morning, but they weren't. Then I got excited because I thought they were supercooled and would turn into ice when jostled, so I slammed one down on the kitchen counter, but nothing happened. Disappointed, I opened it to drink and that's when it froze.
So I took a little video of another one because it always makes me happy to see.
Happy new years! I just wanted you to know that seeing your posts about tucking in your anxious doggos has helped out the anxious sweetie pie I'm looking out for immensely. We don't use a weighted blanket for her, but she can sleep soundly when the neighbors are making loud noises (even fireworks and wild partying) if she's tucked in, snuggled up by humans who care for her. She also no longer licks herself enough to get raw, concerning spots, which was a problem her owner's struggled with for a long time.
I left this sitting at the top of my inbox for a while so I could see it and it would make me happy. :)
In more good news, the Sir David's long-beaked echidna, made an appearance on an expedition team's trail cams! This species hasn't been documented in over 60 years, and was thought to be extinct. This is also the first time a live specimen has been photographed/recorded, as the species was only identified in 1961 by a single dead specimen.
rough day today but i just had the following exchange with myself:
me: well i'm done eating my last meal of the day. now what do i do?
me: you rest. that's what animals do after they eat.
me, suddenly feeling a lot less worried about doing something Worth It for the rest of the night: ...oh.
