♡ Coffee shop au in which ellie is a barista and knows you like her so she keeps making you increasingly terrible drinks to see how far she can push you ♡
Tumblr media
pt. 1
—-------
(pt. 2 here)
Ellie knew that you liked her. She could tell from the moment you tripped over the ugly doormat to the all-too-expensive oh-so-trendy coffee shop she worked at and looked up only to stop in your tracks barely through the door frame. So close, in fact, that she was surprised it didn’t hit you as it slammed shut, the force knocking you out of your shocked gaze.
You had tried to play it cool, pretending like nobody saw your lack of coordination as you faked inspecting the overpriced local art on display before ambling over to the counter. Ellie had watched your movements out of the corner of her eye, curious about what you’d do next. You were…cute enough she supposed, at least to capture a sliver of her attention.
When you approached the counter, you looked almost overwhelmed by all the options, so Ellie thought she would throw you a bone. You know, obviously so you could stop embarrassing yourself and totally not because…
Anyway, she recommended the same thing she recommended every queer looking girl who walked in: iced chai, oat milk, and cinnamon spiced syrup. You had nodded thankfully, and perhaps overenthusiastically, at the suggestion.
Ellie smirked slightly once you were out of view and had settled into an uncomfortable yet sleek minimalist seat.
Now, she really had meant to put the cinnamon syrup into your drink. She would’ve sworn on it. But in the chaos of the morning rush, she’d gotten her wires crossed, and somehow a chai with pineapple syrup was on its way to you.
Ellie called your name, not yet realizing her mistake. She watched you as you approached, failing to hide a smile from her, and watched you take the first sip. Only then, did she remember the flavor sin she had committed.
She cleared her throat, trying not to stare as she waited for your reaction.
Somehow, you didn’t even flinch. You thanked her for the drink, bouncing your head in a cheerful nod. She couldn’t believe it.
As she called the next guest to come get their order, the one that really was supposed to have pineapple in it, she glanced your way and saw you gathering your things. You didn’t even throw away that terrible drink, you left the shop with a smile and rounded the corner out of sight with it, still in hand.
Ellie smirked and stifled a laugh. You weren’t the first girl to look at her the way you did, but you were the first to not put her in her place when she made a drink that horribly wrong.
It made her wonder: If you came back, and that’s a big IF, what else could she get away with?

What NCT's cum taste like.
Taeil: Grass, you know the way fresh cut grass smells on a summer day. Yeah it tastes like that.
Johnny: Battery acid, straight battery acid. Will actually sting your lips. Do not swallow for your own well being.
Taeyong: Straight sugar, it skips right past tasting salty to tasting like sugar, specifically powdered sugar.
Yuta: Cocaine, he doesn't even do cocaine but like it just tastes like a hard drug. Do not go back for more.
Kun: Lemon San Pellegrino, extremely hydrated close to having no taste but he likes his fancy water.
Doyoung: You know the way a doctor's office smells, just extremely clean and sterile with a hint of the older doctor's cologne, Yeah that's what it tastes like.
Ten: Tropical fruit punch, he drunk his pineapple juice he knows what to do.
Jaehyun: Battery Acid part two, but it burns the back of your throat and your coughing for air and you want to smack him for asking you to swallow that.
Winwin: Nothing with a hint of blueberry and menthol, hydrated but not enough, you can still taste his habits.
Jungwoo: Candy, jolly ranchers, starbursts, Skittles, blow pops, he's more high fructose corn syrup than man.
Mark: watermelon and hot pockets, no explanation needed.
Xiaojun: Mint, just like straight peppermint oil, it's like you gave a candy cane a blow job
Hendery: Fresh homemade lasagna, and he says it's me Mario when he climax's
Renjun: Sparkling water, lemons, berries, beauty and talent. You should thank him for it.
Jeno: Cheese, specifically canned cheese and flat diet Pepsi.
Haechan: Sour patch kids, need I say more.
Jaemin: Straight black coffee.
Yangyang: Monster, Red Bull, and a blue raspberry vape
Chenle: Hot unfiltered tap water, it's literally boiling hot, call a doctor.
Jisung: Balloons, cause he's still wearing the condom and is afraid to take it off.

Can be interpreted as romantic or platonic :)
================================
Leo
• One thing Leo insists on doing is your hair. Since he’s only ever had hair once and never did anything with it (and it was evil), he’s intrigued by the buns, ponytails, and braids you’d put it in.
•Was he good at it? No. Well, maybe the buns and ponytails, but the braids evaded him.
• “I don’t think I have enough fingers for this.” Leo said as he loosely held a scrunchie with one hand and the messy braid—if you could even call it that—in his other.
•You laughed. “Maybe just stick to the others.”
•After a few weeks, he finally mastered the braid and wouldn’t stop talking about it for days. He would often do that when you were pissed at him.
• “Uh, I know you’re not talking like that to the best hair braider in the world.” He boasted when you told him to shut up about the damn braid already.
• “I swear you’re gonna be the death of me.” You sighed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Raph
•You were notorious for getting hurt—whether that be training with his brothers or skateboarding—and Raph would often see you limping around or bleeding.
•While bandaging you up, he would scold you on why you should take your health and well-being seriously.
• “Relax, Raph, it’s not that big of a deal.” You told him. “I grew up with brothers, too. I’m used to getting scratches and bruises all the time.”
• “Yeah, but, you still gotta be careful. What if you get more than a scratch or bruise? I ain’t qualified to treat that!” Raphael retorts, ripping off the end of the bandage wrap and tucking it underneath.
• “Aw, you big softie! Come here.” You envelop him in your arms the best you could.
•He hugged you back. “Just promise you’ll be more careful. For me?”
•You smiled up at him with a nod. “Okay, okay, I’ll try. Thanks for fixing me up. You’re the best.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Donnie
•It wasn’t often that Donnie let you into his lab. It was never personal, he just wanted peace and quiet. But when he did allow you in the lab, your main job was to hand him tools and other components as he built his fine inventions. You weren’t tech savvy at all so there was a lot of confusion during the process.
• “(Y/N), can you hand me the pliers?” He asked, not looking as he reached behind himself.
• You hummed before handing him some pliers.
• “No, the Lineman’s.” Donnie gave the apparently incorrect pliers back to you.
• You gave him another pair.
•He slowly turned around, his face stern. “I said ‘Lineman’s’.”
• “Dee, there’s like 10 different pairs of pliers!” You defended yourself. “What even is a Lineman?”
•Donnie breathed out a vocalized “sigh” before grabbing the correct tool and returning to his invention.
• “I’m sorry.” You felt bad for not knowing the difference.
•The turtle turned back around and stared at you for a couple seconds before crackling a half smile and ruffling your hair. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll teach you.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mikey
•You and Mikey loved to try random combinations of pizza toppings until one of them tastes good. So far, your favorites were pineapple-bacon-Alfredo and “Party Pizza” in which you bought a cheese pizza and threw jelly beans and maple syrup on it.
• “That’s disgraceful, (Y/N).” Mikey shook his head half-jokingly.
• “Whatever, you haven’t even tried it.” You remarked, opening a bag of jellybeans and scooping a large amount onto the cheese pizza.
• “There’s no way I’m allowing that to assault my tastebuds.” Mikey cringed as you took a bite.
• Once you eventually got him to try it, he fell in love with it like you’d thought he would.
Fire Cider Recipe 2
Instant Fire Cider
2/3 cup raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup chopped fresh pineapple*, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 (2-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled
1 (1-inch) piece fresh horseradish root*, peeled (optional)
1 large clove garlic, peeled
1/4 small lime (peel included if organic // 1/4 small lime is ~20 g)
1 ½ Tbsp honey (raw, local preferred // if vegan, sub maple syrup or agave)
1/2-3/4 tsp ground turmeric*
1 pinch ground black pepper
1/8 tsp ground cayenne
Instructions
Wash and prep your fresh produce (pineapple, ginger, garlic, and lime).
To a high-speed blender, add all ingredients (apple cider vinegar, pineapple, ginger, horseradish (optional), garlic, lime, honey, turmeric*, black pepper, and cayenne). Blend on high for 30-45 seconds or until there are no large pieces remaining. If you don’t have a powerful blender, this may take longer. Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a measuring glass or bowl, using the back of a wooden spoon to squish and stir the pulp so all of the liquid comes through. Discard the leftover pulp. You should now have a lovely orange-colored tonic with no lumps. Taste and adjust as needed, adding more honey for sweetness, turmeric for earthiness, or cayenne for heat — it should be potent!
Drink as desired. Take as a spoonful before meals for stimulating digestion. You can also add it to salad dressings, marinades, or cocktails, or make mocktails by adding to sparkling water.
Store in a glass bottle or jar in the refrigerator for up to 4-6 weeks. Separation is normal — give it a shake before serving
Horseradish is a traditional ingredient in Fire Cider, but it can be tricky to get at the grocery store (it’s in the produce section). We like the “fiery” quality horseradish root adds, but the tonic is still potent and delicious without it. Another option is to sub 1/4 – 1/2 tsp wasabi paste.
A light buzzing stirs you from your sleep.
Your vision is fuzzy, distorted around the edges like a vignette.
You feel as if you are swimming through syrup as you try to sit up, the alcohol sloshing around in your gut. You still taste the Pineapple Amarettos and Long Islands that turned you into a smiling mess of limbs and incoherency.
Carefully, you peel yourself from the harem of slumbering women sprawled across your lap and at your feet. You retrieve your phone from the coffee table before flopping down on an adjacent couch.
You squint from the brightness of the display. Your lips quirk into a haphazard grin. There are two missed calls and one new message. You open it, your smile growing tenfold.
‘Are you awake, Sunflower?’ it reads at 0316. You imagine the worried lines taking up residence on his face.
You key in your response, albeit sloppily.
His reply is instantaneous. ‘Come outside.’
It takes all of two minutes to stand without toppling over. To find your purse, jacket, and heels. Soundlessly, you creep out the front door without awakening your friends.
The air is glacial and unforgiving against your bare legs. You tug the hem of your dress down to ward off the chill. Kyojuro stands but a few feet away, outlined by the bokeh of streetlights. Leans against the passenger door of his Challenger with folded arms, an alluring cant to his lips. He looks gorgeous to you in his slacks, button-up, and flaxen, red-tinged hair.
You teeter down the steps towards him, giggling. Stumble into his arms, pressing him against the window. He pulls one of his coats around your shoulders as you take his warm cheeks into your hands and stipple his face with wet, clumsy kisses. Kyojuro chortles as he ushers you into the leather seat, closing the door softly behind you.
He pours himself into the driver’s side. The engine roars to life, heat, and music filling the vehicle. It smells of cologne and scorched cedar, a sweet concoction that causes you to sigh contentedly. He reaches for your hand over the center console. Your fingers fill the gaps between his whilst he eases his car onto the street.
You slide under a red light, and then, there are supple, sweltering lips at the back of your hand. You glance at him sideways, your skin slowly igniting as his mouth lingers on your knuckles longer than necessary. He captures you with his smoldering embers, and he smiles so beautifully until small craters form on his cheeks.
Suddenly, Kyojuro’s demeanor shifts. Mischievousness swims in his eyes before he replaces your hand on your thigh. Even through your drunken haze, you read between the lines. Your body overflows with heat as you disrupt the silence, squeezing his hand.
“Where we off to?”
He chuckles, a wicked and torrid sound that makes you squeeze your thighs together. He says, “first, I plan to feed you.”
A tiny smile fleets across your face; that doesn’t sound too bad. Food would be perfect to dispel your inebriated state.
“Then,” he continues, disrupting your thoughts, “I am going to fuck you.”
You blanch, smacking him non-too-gently on the shoulder. He doesn’t normally have a filter, but this is just a new level of unhinged.
“No more Fifty Shades for you,” you chastise as he howls with laughter. Still, you can’t shake the excitement pin-pricking your skin at the mere thought of such a statement.
National Cinnamon Day
Celebrate and appreciate one of the world’s favorite ancient spices by getting excited about National Cinnamon Day. So grab a favorite cinnamon treat and read on to learn more about this delicious spice and the ways it has been part of human history for thousands of years!
History of National Cinnamon Day
Native to Ceylon, which is modern day Sri Lanka, cinnamon’s first recordings are from Chinese writings that date as far back as 2800 BC. Even today in the Cantonese language, cinnamon is still known as “kwai”. And in the Malay language, it goes by “kayumanis”, which means “sweet wood”. This is certainly an apt description of this spicy but uniquely sweet flavor.
During medieval times, doctors found that cinnamon worked well as a treatment for coughs, sore throats and hoarseness. It may also have been considered a status symbol and was often used as a special imported gift given to monarchs, royalty and other people of importance.
Cinnamon, along with other precious spices might seem rather innocuous now, but in the early days of their discovery, several wars were fought over the lands where cinnamon came from. The Portuguese, Dutch and British armies all sought to conquer Ceylon (modern day Sri Lanka) in an effort to obtain full access to their spices.
Today, sourcing cinnamon comes with much less angst and political struggle as, for most people, it’s easy to simply pop over to the local grocery store, health food store or spice shop to pick some up. Typically cinnamon can be found in two varieties, ground or whole. Ground cinnamon is used in many different recipes for baking and cooking, while whole cinnamon sticks are more often steeped into beverages or infused into flavoring syrups.
Of course, cinnamon is really the star of the show when it comes to the beloved pumpkin pie spice. Combined with allspice, nutmeg and clove, cinnamon is the base for this grouping of flavors that represents all things fall.
In honor of National Cinnamon Day, it’s time to get creative and enjoy cinnamon in a whole myriad of ways!
National Cinnamon Day Timeline
2000 BC Spices are exchanged along the Silk Road
A network of sea routes link East to West, from Japan all the way over to Europe, and cinnamon is one of the spices traded on this route.
65 AD Emperor Nero burns cinnamon
Nero is said to have burned a year’s worth of Rome’s supply of cinnamon at his wife’s funeral.
14th Century Portuguese explorers find cinnamon
While traders brought the spice to the West, the place where it originates from is kept secret until the Portuguese discover it in Ceylon.
Early 1800s British take over Ceylon
Defeating the Dutch occupiers, the British take over the island country of Ceylon, gaining full access to cinnamon.
1930s Cinnamon candy is made
Produced by the Ferrara Pan Candy Company, Red Hots are made using the panned method of candy making.
How to Celebrate National Cinnamon Day
Get excited about cinnamon and enjoy National Cinnamon Day with some of these fun and clever ideas for celebrating:
Eat Something Cinnamon
From cinnamon candy to cinnamon rolls and everything in between, National Cinnamon Day is best celebrated by enjoying the flavors of this delicious spice. Whether it’s simply grabbing a pack of cinnamon gum from the local convenience store, or a cinnamon latte from a local coffee shop, this is the day to enjoy all things cinnamon!
In fact, while often associated with sweet things in the West, cinnamon is also often used in savory dishes in many cultures. From curries to mole sauces to barbecue rubs, cinnamon can be used in every meal of the day for breakfast lunch and dinner!
Try a cinnamon roll or a healthy bowl of oatmeal flavored with cinnamon for breakfast. Lunch could consist of a Hawaiian pizza topped with pineapple, ham and almond slivers, sprinkled with delicious cinnamon. And dinner? Well, a big vat of butter chicken, cinnamon green lentil soup or chicken shawarma would do nicely, thank you very much!
Learn the Health Benefits of Cinnamon
Cinnamon is more than just a yummy way to flavor foods and beverages! It is also a natural substance that offers a whole host of properties that may be beneficial to human health. There’s a reason that it was often offered as a gift to kings!
Consider some of these interesting benefits of including cinnamon as part of a healthy diet:
Cinnamon is full of antioxidants. Fighting off free radicals is the name of the game when it comes to preventing health problems such as cancer, heart disease and other issues.
Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation can be helpful in fighting off foreign bodies, but too much inflammation can cause huge health problems like arthritis, asthma, diabetes, cancer and so much more.
Cinnamon may help prevent heart disease. This unassuming spice has been linked as a way to reduce heart disease, which is the number one cause of death in the world today.
Cinnamon can help balance insulin. A serious problem today is insulin resistance which can cause type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. Cinnamon can help to reduce the body’s resistance to the hormone insulin and help it do its job well.
Enjoy Baking with Cinnamon
Cinnamon brings a whole host of opportunities for cooking and baking in the kitchen at home. From cinnamon rolls to snickerdoodle cookies, from cinnamon donuts to cinnamon coffee cake, this spice really has it all!
Get creative by adding cinnamon sugar to honey and rolling it in phyllo dough for a pseudo-baklava taste. Or go a bit more traditional by baking an all-American apple pie that is, of course, spiced with cinnamon. Another enjoyable way to use cinnamon is to add it to a traditional loaf of quick bread, such as banana bread, pumpkin bread.
Savor a Cup of Cinnamon Tea
While many people think of cooking and baking with cinnamon, one of the best ways to enjoy this delicious spice is by steeping it into a hot beverage. Teas made from cinnamon can be not only tasty but can also offer a nice way to infuse some of the health benefits that were mentioned above.
So, in honor of National Cinnamon Day, perhaps consider trying out one of these delightful brands of cinnamon tea:
Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea. This is the most popular flavor of this company’s tea that is sold throughout the world, its flavors are of cinnamon, orange peel and sweet cloves.
The Republic of Tea Cinnamon Plum Tea. This is a black tea that is blended with zingy cinnamon spice and offers the calm taste of ripe plums.
Bigelow Black Tea Cinnamon Stick. A classic version with a spicy kick, this black tea is just the right balance of sweet and spicy.
National Cinnamon Day FAQs
Can dogs have cinnamon?
Cinnamon is not toxic to dogs, but it could cause indigestion so it may be best to avoid giving cinnamon to a dog.
Is cinnamon good for you?
Yes! Cinnamon is a healthy spice that contains antioxidants and may be helpful in fighting against heart disease, insulin resistance, and might even protect against cancer.
Where does cinnamon come from?
Originating from trees in Sri Lanka, which is an island in the Indian Ocean, a lot of cinnamon is now grown in Indonesia.
How to make cinnamon sugar
Cinnamon sugar is easy! Just combine 2 tablespoons of cinnamon with ½ cup white sugar and combine.
Can cinnamon go bad?
Though cinnamon will not usually “go bad”, it can get old and lose some of its strength and flavor.
Mike wheeler's interactions with food
👾sorry for spelling mistakes I'm dyslexic👾
Not only will this be based on what we see in the show (mostly s4) but will also include my experiences as a guy with a diagnosed restrictive eating disorder(EDNOS), how this relates to Mike's potential autism and how eating disorders are more common amongst queer men then cishet men. Obvious tw for eating disorders, disordered eating, selfhate, stereotypes ect...
In s1 we see Mike putting syrup on his scrambled eggs, something Nancy deems 'disgusting' and no one else at the table has done the same thing. These kind of 'wierd' food combinations are very typical for autistic people and are linked to developing eating disorders like ARFID. After this we don't really see Mike interacting with food until season 4, although we do see Mike is decently exited to eat some snacks Will brought to the cinema and his break up with El(keep this in mind).
👾season 4👾
The first interaction with food in s4 is Mike hurrying to school and quickly making some toast to take with him. We don't see him eat this toast nor etempt too like taking a bite or holding it in his mouth while he does something else, we do however see an expression of concern on Karen's face. He did this so his parents would see him taking food to 'eat'.
At lunch we see Mike has food but doesn't eat any and at the hellfire meeting everyone except Mike has mounting dew. Saying we give Mike the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't like that particular pop why wouldn't he have brought another drink?
In the episode were he reunites with El and Will at the airport we see food mentioned a few times. At the mention of getting burritos Mike seems to panic a bit, quickly turning his head to meet her and his voice is slightly higher pitched. The only thing we see him consume the whole episode is a milkshake that we don't even know if he finished, though this does make sense as liquids are easer for most people with a restrictive ED to eat(well, drink haha). Yet again Will is present but so is El, he's trying to keep up a look of normality and being a good boyfriend.
Back at the byers Mike still eats no solid food, instead he only picks at the risotto. Typically there's 2 ways people with eating disorders respond to stress: over eating or restricting. Everyone else is eating despite the stress of the day because their coping mechanisms don't involve food whereas Mike's does, he fall into the second category of restricting when under stress.
The next day Mike still hasn't eaten any solids. I personally find myself doing the same thing so I may be projecting a bit but when under stress to the point I don't eat I will continue to not eat even if I'm no longer too stressed out. This gives me a sense of control over the whole situation and eating would be braking that control and making me stressed again creating a cycle, and it's this very cycle that seems to have a hold on Mike. At breakfast he just picks at his food instead of eating before taking Els egos up to her. This not only allows him to try and apologise but also doesn't make him look strange for not eating infront of Will who looks notably concerned.
When pizza is ordered it's unclear if anyone eats some. In the dessert Mike has some pop and yet again it's unclear how much he drinks.
At the surfer boy pizza Mike still hasn't eaten until Argyle brings out a pineapple pizza, Mike rejects this saying he doesn't like pineapple on pizza (this scene made me laugh because I've done the EXACT same thing to avoid eating before💀) while he may be telling the truth it still doesn't make sense for him to not eat it as he presumably hasn't eaten for 24 hours or at the very least around 8. Unless he has a major aversion to pineapple on pizza like sensory issues, he's hiding his hunger.
👾why would Mike have an eating disorder/other👾
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way shape or form think you need to be thin or unweight to have a restrictive ED. I have,in the 3 years I've had EDs,fluctuated between anorexia, BED, bulimia and EDNOS and have only been underweight once in my honeymoon phase. Your ED is valid no matter your size💖
The media uses stereotypes as they are the easiest for the general public to understand, this is especially common with eating disorders. To the bone, my skinny sister, starving in suburbia, girl intrupted are all popular media staring people with restrictive eating disorders, and a common factor all these characters have is being skinny white girls. Mike (obviously) isn't a girl so that alone would make his ED harder for the general public to understand or sympathise with so they really need to show the key factor of his thinness. The team chose to put Mike in clothes that would show his body like shorts and short sleeve Tees. Even his jeans are made to accentuate the fact Mike is under weight as they clearly aren't made to be baggy yet still sag. The directors/script writers even go as far as to have Angela refer to Mike as a twig.
Expectations for alt and queer men overlap and always have. While there's obvious differences a more common then not factor is thinness and flamboyance, Mike clearly isn't willing to be flamboyant (mostly likely due to his parents political vues and potential internlisedhomophobia) but the physical look is something he can achieve. This links into...
Mike doesn't like himself. Even in s1 we see him being bullied for his appearance and his dad's, Ted wheeler, indirect criticism of him. We also see Mike attempts to emulate Eddie munson -who is bold in style and visibly queer- someone who Mike isn't like especially visually. When he goes to california he wears what he thinks will make him fit in and (presumably) be more what El and Will are used to. In both situations he's changing himself.
Mike is obviously traumatised. He's watched his best friend be possessed, be in excruciating pain screaming out for him and almost die. He's watched Bob get ripped to shreads by demo dogs, seen literal monsters made of human flash, been knocked out by another possessed person and SO much more. His eating is really the only thing he can control.
Will is there almost every time Mike eats/drinks something. This suggests he's either trying to be 'normal' infront of Will and to not worry him or Will is a safe person that makes him feel comfortable enough to do so, probably a mix of both.
👾EDs presenting differently in AMAB people, Mike's potential eating disorder👾
EDs typically start young, even still amab people tend to develop them in their teens to early adults. This is due to the physical expectations we are exposed to, slender yet muscler men who are so tall they could touch a ceiling with no effort who sport angular jaw lines and get equally as 'perfect' girls in abundance. Amab people (specifically guys) tend to develop EDs like orthorexia, EDNOS, bigorexia and bulimia (which is the most common ED among gay men). Eating disorders aren't as talked about in guys let alone in the 80s so Mike's efforts at hiding his ED would be different compared to a girls, while his parents may be concerned about him I doubt an eating disorder comes to mind. Lifting/exercise culture also influences us, the fact its almost expected of guys to be bulking or cutting food at any given time is basically the equivalent of girls expected to be on a diet, guys are also expected to have that 'teen boy metabolism/thinness' and if you don't fit into this it really messes you up.
Mike isn't sporty and this is made VERY clear, he's built like a string bean, he's the stereotype of a nerd, and he's shown no interest in sports. This imo is enough evidence to rule out bigorexia(and disorders like it) and orthorexia as we don't see him once etempt to be healthy with food or exercise. There's also no signs that Mike purges (no puffy cheeks, blisters on nuckles, no laxatives seen and ofc no exercise) so I'll also take bulimia of the potential ED list. This leaves us with the 2 most likely candidates of EDNOS and anorexia . We see him heavily restrict food and not eating under stress except this isn't constant, in s3 after his brake up with El ,Mike is eating a can of crisps to himself (maby the start of a binge) and he presumably eats in the cinema. S3 may have shown a period of normal eating or it may be that his eating disorder didn't start until the byers and El left Hawkins. With this information I personally think Mike could be anorexic!
If you struggle with an ED and would like someone to talk to feel free to contact me! You are not alone in this illness and if talking will make you feel better or you just want to ask questions please do so💖
Domestic Kacy Details
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love all the domestic details we got in just the first episode of the season. Did Lucy make chicken and waffles???
It all got my head thinking a little though.
Kacy Drabble for 2x01
Kate and Lucy have been getting to know each other better. All the way down to the small details like ticklish spots. They'd missed a lot before, but she won't make that mistake this time. Kate wants to know everything and is having fun learning.
There are things she needs a little help understanding though. Lucy has been bringing a few things over from her place. Apparent essentials that have been missing from her life.
For instance, Lucy brought a French Press. For Kate, coffee is coffee. French press and Nitro brew? It may add something extra, but coffee is what she needs to get going in the morning and keep going. If she wants a little whipped cream and caramel syrup, she'll hit the coffee shop on the way in.
While they were on and off, Kate wound up buying a programmable coffee pot to give them a few extra minutes in the morning, but the machine itself was still basic. She's not going to question Lucy though. Maybe it does taste better. She'll find out some morning. Besides, if Lucy finds certain things essential, who is she to question it? Maybe she's been doing coffee all wrong, she'll find out.
Another thing she's learned is that being from Texas is supposed to explain a lot? Kate still has questions though. Like chicken and waffles. It makes no sense to her. Lucy doesn't really have much of an explanation either, but it's a thing. Kate will take her word on that.
Kate can't help smiling thinking about how there are various things that don't make sense to Lucy too. Like how she doesn't like pineapple. Lucy finds that baffling. Especially since she doesn't have a specific reason for not liking them. It's not an allergy, they just hurt her tongue and she doesn't like their taste.
They both have their little quirks. Making her bed is just habit. Her bed has always been somewhere she goes to feel comfortable. To read after a long day, a change of place to go over files, it's a place she can relax. Lately though, most bed related things involve Lucy.
Sharing her home might be awkward or irritating with someone else, but with Lucy it just feel natural. Lucy makes herself comfortable. Lucy coming and leaving her things around happened a few times before she realized what she was doing. She was quick to apologize, but Kate doesn't care. It makes her apartment more of a home rather than just a place to stay.
They're still learning things about each other all the time, which means there are still nerves for the both of them. She doesn't miss those moments where Lucy seems to deflate a little. It usually happens when Lucy is worrying if she's being too much. She isn't too much and Kate will reassure her of that every time. She wants to hit whoever told Lucy she was. It is a little much sometimes, like when Lucy made her breakfast in bed. Did they have enough breakfast for the whole team? Sure, but it will get eaten. Kate makes sure she gets a bit of everything before they pack up the rest for the team. Kate's cooked for Lucy a few times, there are a few dishes she knows she can make well, but Lucy is amazing when it comes to food. What Kate appreciates most though is the thought and effort behind it all, the fact that it's all delicious is just a bonus.
They've talked a lot since getting back together. Hours spent out on the balcony, spread out on the couch, curled together in bed. Lucy hasn't said she loves her yet, but she shows it, so Kate isn't worried. There's no rush. They'd skipped and rushed things before and that hadn't worked well. She also know that when Lucy says them, she'll mean them. She'll be sure and Kate doesn't want to hear it before then. They want to do this right. Kate loves her and doesn't mind waiting, she isn't going anywhere.
Sneak peak??
Last sneak peek before the new chapter is posted!
It’s only six thirty by the time they make it back to the motel, after a quick dinner not far from the boardwalk, some hole-in-the-wall they hadn’t tried yet.
They had been seated at a dark booth towards the back of the restaurant, well past the bustling bar in the centerfold. Taylor had wanted appetizers before their meal, then batted her eyelashes at him and begged him for the fruity cocktail on the front cover of their laminated menu. He’d ordered it for her, because of course he had, then managed to coax her into sitting in his lap while she sipped on her little strawberry vodka, her cheeks already flushed a delicious shade of pink, the alcohol working fast. He’d watched her mouth with rapt attention when she’d taken the pineapple wedge nestled along the rim of the glass, sucked it between her teeth, little dribbles of juice running down her chin. Then she’d bitten off a chunk, giggling as she fed him the other half. His tongue had briefly caught the tips of her fingers, and he’d had to resist the urge to grab her wrist to hold her still, suck her fingers into his mouth like he’d wanted to.
His sweet girl, so blissfully unaware of the affect she was having, pressing her face so close to his, burying her face into his neck, her breath so hot there, her lips wet and sloppy on his jaw as she struggled not to slur her words. Humming the song on the radio, then dissolving into giggles halfway through. Stupid shit. Sucking sticky pineapple juice off her own fingers, then licking the strawberry syrup off the rim of her glass, syrup that leaves her lips stained red. Squirming around in his lap with one arm slung over his shoulders, completely ignorant of the hard length of him snaked down his thigh. Talking a mile a minute and smiling so sweetly at him, pupils dilated wide from the alcohol. Not drunk, but maybe halfway there. He lets her finish her drink but cuts her off after that, despite her protests for “just one more”.
“Maybe we could share?” she’d slurred, grinning, and her nose bumped against the ridge of his righthand scar when she shifted on his lap, trying to get comfortable, trying to read the menu upside down from the other side of the table. “We could, um, get the one with the cherries in it….”
Castletown Café Episode 24: Butler Juice (Yellow)
Tumblr media
HEY EVERY  !! Been a while, hasn't it? I’m back with another Butler Juice that’s as sunny and flavorful as summer itself: the yellow variety! While Butler Juice is said to change color and flavor with temperature, this sunshine-colored-punch tastes best when kept refrigerated, especially during warmer weather.
I experimented a bit with the amounts of pineapple and mango for this drink to achieve a delicious result, so that the pineapple doesn’t overpower the flavor. Because mango is used, it may have a slightly slimy texture, but with a cheesecloth, I managed to reduce its sliminess a bit. If you’re hypersensitive to food textures, you can just remove the mango to get yourself a pineapple lemonade. Still yellow, still delicious.
You’ll also need fresh lemons, about 3 or 4, to get one whole cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. I only needed two and a half because I had bought some huge lemons, but average-size lemons may call for at least four , but if you’re using even smaller lemons, such as Meyer lemons, you may need 8! One thing to keep in mind: the heavier the lemon, the more juice it has, so be sure to get yourself some lemons with a good weight to them!
Just like in my recipe for the blue Butler Juice, you’ll need simple syrup - about 3/4 cup of it to dilute the tartness of the lemon and pineapple juice! I’ll repeat the recipe for that here, just so you don’t have to go looking for it (or if you don’t want to tap the link). I suggest making the simple syrup first, before juicing your lemons.
For the pineapple, you only need 1 cup. You can use fresh or canned, I opted for buying fresh, pre-sliced pineapple because whole ones can be very tricky to cut up, what with their tough skin and everything. If you’re skipping the mangoes entirely, you can add more pineapple to taste to make up for it.
Speaking of mangoes, you’ll need two. I try to get as much of the fruit in there as possible. For mango cutting, (this guide explains it better than I can), you cut the wide ends off, slice the fruit, but try not to cut the peel. Turn the peel inside out, and scrape the fruit off of it and into your blender or food processor. Repeat this three more times. Now, you’ll still have some fruit around the large, flat seed in the middle. Those parts are harder to cut off. I try to peel what’s left, then slice as much fruit off near the big stone as I can. Often, I’m squeezing the remaining fruit around the stone over the blender to get as much juice out of it, because the fruit there is stringy and hard to cut off. Since mangoes are a slimy fruit, it may be better not to try this as it may make your drink slimier, but I like to get as much of that tasty mango juice in there as possible!
Water is also needed, mainly to dilute the lemon juice. The water is added to the pineapple and mango and blended all together (the lemon juice and simple syrup go into a big bowl or pitcher first and are mixed together). Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, whichever you have that’s finer, to separate as much juice from the pulp as possible. Strain and squeeze over your bowl as you’ll have more room and are less likely to miss.
Stir up your juice and then ladle it into a pitcher, then store it in your refrigerator.
BUTLER JUICE (YELLOW):
3/4 cup granulated sugar
4 cups water, divided
2 mangoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup pineapple, cut into bite-sized slices
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 3-4 average-sized lemons)
Combine sugar and 1 cup of water in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once syrup is boiling, reduce heat to low and let simmer for five minutes, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
Wash and dry lemons and mangoes, slice lemons in half and squeeze out the juice with a hand citrus juicer, until you fill up 1 cup. Add lemon juice to a large mixing bowl with 3/4 cup cooled syrup and stir.
Slice off the wide sides of the mangoes and slice fruit into cubes without cutting the peel, then turn inside out (OR you can just peel and cube your mango halves). Scrape cubed mango off the peel into the blender. Peel and cut off remaining mango around the core and add into the blender as well.
Slice up fresh pineapple chunks or canned pineapple and fill 1 cup - don’t chop TOO finely however, or that will be way more pineapple than you need (unless you’re omitting the mango). Just cut up big chunks into bite-sized pieces. Add to blender.
Add the remaining 3 cups of water into the blender, put the lid on, and set to Liquefy or Puree. Blend until a smooth, lumpy juice forms.
With a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, squeeze out or strain the pineapple-mango mixture to separate as much juice from the fruit pulp as possible. You may need to do this a little at a time if you’re using a cheesecloth.
Stir together your yellow Butler Juice, and ladle into a pitcher. Place in the refrigerator to chill and to keep it fresh.
Pour juice into a glass and enjoy!
For the lyric prompt thingie :)
"Used to wear my sadness like a choker, yeah, it had me by the throat. Tonight, I feel I'm draped in it like a loose garment: I just let it flow..."
Loose Garment by MUNA
Lucy/Kate
Lucy leaving her appointment with the Kahuna, maybe? Idk this one always gives me "breakup era Kacy" vibes.
Thank you for this prompt! It was interesting to get inside of Lucy's head in those sad and angst-filled days, when we're used to seeing them so happy right now. Quite the challenge and I enjoyed it! I hope I did it justice. 😊
A link to the song
>>>>>
It’s early afternoon when Lucy steps out of the small shack, the sun at its brightest and warming everything it touches. It wraps around her like a blanket and she is grateful for the comfort it brings. Today was her third session with the Kahuna, and she has found each one opening her up a little bit more. It is not easy for her and she is left feeling exposed, a vulnerability she doesn’t like and usually tries to avoid.
But not this time.
She would never tell Ernie this, but he was right about the Kahuna. Her visits to him have been positive and she is working through the grief she feels at the end of her relationship. At the way it ended, and how it was snatched from her just as she was falling in love. It took a while for her to lean into the Kahuna’s practices and she still finds some of what he says a little kooky, but he is slowly teaching her to embrace it all, to let herself feel sad and angry and heartbroken instead of burying it deep inside and pretending like it doesn’t matter.
Because it does matter.
Abandoning her car, Lucy wanders across the street towards the water. She has no intention of stepping foot on the sand, of course, but the beach will be busy, full of day trippers and holidaymakers, and she isn’t ready to go home to a silent apartment just yet. She grabs a cup of shaved ice from a nearby cart, choosing a pineapple topping – a subtle defiance to Kate’s dislike for the fruit – and finds an empty bench to sit on.
Leaning back, Lucy looks out across the water at the bodies swimming through the waves and the boards that bob up and down on the surf. She inhales deeply, taking in the smell of the sand and sea – familiar to anyone who lives on a tropical island, but stirring new memories now. Of being roused on a Saturday morning with salty kisses, of droplets of seawater falling onto her chest, of unwanted grains of sand making their way into the bed.
It causes Lucy to feel overwhelmed with a loneliness that threatens to bring tears to her eyes. She blinks them back, even though she knows the Kahuna would tell her to let them fall, because she’s still Lucy Tara and she isn’t someone who cries in public over a broken heart. She doesn’t fight the ache in her heart though, instead letting herself feel sad until it is ready to subside.
Her cup of shaved ice is starting to melt in the heat and Lucy takes a bite, enjoying the sweetness of the syrup. She still remembers the look on Kate’s face when she had presented her with breakfast, only to turn her nose up at the way the juice from the pineapple had – in Kate’s words – infected all the other fruits and pastries on the plate. She still remembers the way Kate had tipped her head back and laughed when Lucy had pointed out that this is why it pays to make too much food for breakfast, because at least she’d have options.
God, she misses that laugh and the way Kate’s face lights up when she smiles.
Lucy hasn’t seen her since her apology in the bullpen and she is pretty sure that Kate is avoiding coming by, despite being the FBI’s NCIS liaison. She sometimes finds herself listening out for the sound of clipped heels on the hard floor or waiting for the waft of floral perfume that gives away her presence – disappointed when it doesn’t come. She berates herself for craving her company, tells herself it makes her weak, but the Kahuna is teaching her that it is okay to miss her and that forgiveness is the first step towards healing.
She wants to heal.
With the sun getting stronger, Lucy wipes her brow and stands up, throwing her empty cup into the nearby trashcan and heading to her car. It is like she is on autopilot as she drives the familiar coastal road to the tall apartment block that she knows so well. She pulls into an empty parking space outside and takes the elevator to the twelfth floor.
Pausing outside the door, her bravery wavers a little, but she forces herself to lift her hand and knock sharply three times.
There is a patter of bare feet on hard wooden floors and the click of the lock, and she braces herself as the door opens.
“Lucy.” Kate’s voice is full of surprise and she shakes her head, confused. “What are you doing here?”
“I forgive you,” Lucy says, the words falling from her mouth before she can stop them.
Kate stares at her, dumbfounded at her unexpected visit, and Lucy feels the need to fill the silence.
“You said you were sorry and I… I forgive you,” Lucy says.
With those three words, she feels some of the weight of her grief lift: the first step to healing.
“You do?”
Lucy nods. “I don’t wanna be mad any more, it’s too hard,” she admits. “And we still have to work together, right?”
Kate smiles – a quick upturn of lips that never reaches her eyes, which have always given away everything she is feeling. There is an awkwardness between them that Lucy wishes wasn’t there but she can’t bring herself to let down all the walls she has built up since the last time she was at this door. It is going to take a lot more sessions with the Kahuna before she is able to do that.
“Well, I should go,” Lucy says. “I guess I’ll see you at Pearl?”
“Yeah, I need to stop by and see Tennant on Monday,” Kate says.
Monday. At least Lucy will be prepared when she shows up.
She turns and starts to walk towards the elevator, pausing when Kate calls out her name.
‘Don’t say it,’ she thinks to herself. She remembers how close Kate was to declaring her love that night in the bullpen and Lucy had cut her off, knowing it is the one thing that might make her crumble; and she doesn’t want that. She holds her breath and turns.
“Thank you,” is all Kate says.
Lucy exhales slowly, before offering her a half-smile, the best she can do in the circumstances.
“I’ll see you, Kate.”
Travel Blog - Büsum (North Sea)
15.-17. September 2023
I decided to write a little travel blog about my trip to Büsum as well C:
Overall I want to cherish the memories I made more, photos are great and all but thoughts count too. Polished cam photos will follow later on, for the blog I will keep it to phone pics <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
15th September - 1. Day
The little weekend trip to Büsum was my birthday present from my parents for this year. I went with my Mom. Last year we went to Cuxhaven for 4 days but it was a bit too long for my taste.
I got the friday off in exchange of not getting the Bookfair Friday, therefore we planned it later on. We went to Büsum a few times already, last time it was in the high of the pandemic, you still can see some leftovers from the time. But it's nice to see the city lively again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We stayed in a hotel very close to the harbour. It's run by a family of alternative folks, they are all tattooed, pierced, have dyed hair and are super open to everyone who is different, I love that. We also found out there was a tattoo convention that weekend and a lot of artists stayed in our hotel.
My very wish was to eat at a specific pancake restaurant but it closed down last year, we decided to visit the replacement restaurant and I have to say... it became our favorite one to eat at over the days. And I loved their menu of teas, heck, so many teas.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We had a Kaiserschmarrn with Blueberry compot in the "style" of the former owner. Then we walked a bit around the city and the beach area, flood was there therefore we couldn't get into the Watt but that was okay. We had booked a spot in another restaurant for the evening and had to check in later on.
Also I had planned to do doll photos the first evening, we were quite packed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was the first time for me to eat fish at the sea that was not... fish sticks. But I actually liked it. That was new for me. As we finished we hurried back to hotel to fetch the 5 dolls I had packed to take pics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We had the most beautiful sunset I very much loved it!
16th September - 2. Day
The day started in the Hotel with breakfast, we were told it would be absolute amazing and it was ... average? Dunno? It was okay but we had better over the years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we went into the Watt for a nice long walk before the flood came in. We explored the area a lot and found some new spots or spots we forgot about?
Tumblr media
After that we of course had to get to the tattoo convention, it was super interesting to see. The buzzing of the needles was a bit weird though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we went to fetch lunch and .. well. The restaurant my Mom had chosen was the worst. I had asked for seasonal fruit with my pancake and was told to get kiwi and mango. I got melon, pineapple and a rather disgusting strawberry syrups smoldered on top. Mom's choice was advertised as served "hot" and it was cold and I was super disappointed here. I really feared my mood would declince more and more... Mom asked me what I want to do now. I told her I just want to walk and we... walked. And it helped.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We discovered new restaurants and spots, like a park with some outdoor sports equipment. Dunno why but it lifted my mood. We then got to the restaurant we ate lunch the day before and got some cake as I just wanted to relax somewhere. It had actual seasonal fruit (berries, apple) and we booked a spot for dinner there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am seriously not the type who loves burgers but since there are more restaurants popping up with non-meat patties I am testing them here and there. I had a vegetable patty and the sourdough bun was toasted so well it was crunchy until the end. The cabbage salad was really nice and not to mention the mousse au chocolate as dessert.
Tumblr media
We came back to an incredible scenery as it got dark and the sun went down. We took another walk and went back to the hotel then.
17th September - 3rd Day
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The last day had arrived. I went on a little morning walk on my own and the sunrise was absolutely beautiful and the fog on top of it... I am still in awe.
Tumblr media
After checking out we took another big walk into the Watt, the scenery was amazing, I can't put it into words.
Tumblr media
Before we left we had another stop at our new favorite restaurant and I had some american cheesecake (only had german one before). We left Büsum then.
Tumblr media
Before we completely left we stopped at a local farmer and got some vegetables, the area is known for cabbage and it was in season.
Tumblr media
Traveling back ate my complete spoons though as Mom mistook a route and we ended up in Hamburg... I mean... I saw the convention hall for the Polaris and all but I was just so done then.
Overall it was a very good trip, I had the feeling last year Mom and I grew apart a bit as she was a bit too clingy for my taste, maybe it was just that 4 days with her is too much, dunno. But this year was way better.
BACKGROUND.
Selin remembers the early years of her childhood as being happy, filled with memories of a loving family and what everyone would describe as perfect. As the youngest of three Selin was a smiley, yet clingy toddler who grew into a child who wanted to continuously spend hours playing with her siblings and following their shadows as at that time she looked up to them tremendously. She loved affection and attention from her parents until the day that everything changed.
When she was 11 years old it was revealed that one of her siblings was in fact not her sibling but a fae changeling. Selin was too young to fully understand and as far as she saw it Eda/Leyla was still her sister. For the longest time after they’d run off Selin wished that she had come back home to the family. However, Selin didn’t dare to voice this as it was clear from her parents' reactions that it would be wrong to think that way.
The years that followed were the opposite of her childhood and going into her early teenage years Selin stopped looking for the attention of their parents who were too busy arguing as their marriage broke down. She would seek that affection elsewhere in other relationships and in her early twenties had a string of failed relationships, most of which never lasted more than a few months. Her last relationship was with (wc) who is presumed dead. The last time Selin saw him was when they told her about Lunar Cove when hunters were after them. Selin fled with her eldest sister Safiye, the two came to Lunar Cove together a couple of months ago in hopes of a place they could settle safely.
Now residing in Shadow Lake Selin can be found taking yoga classes on occasion at Bliss Yoga. Although fitness is certainly not a passion of hers, it helps her to have something to work out any pent-up energy, and any workout that doesn't feel like a workout has to be good, right?
At other times she can be found creating handcrafted jewelry in her home that she sells online. If you take a walk through the farmers market you might spot her small pop-up stall displaying her items for sale too. You’ll most likely be able to spot her sipping coffee at the caffeine crypt or the daily drip since working from home affords very little human (or otherwise) interaction that she craves.
i’m back with more, a list of stuff Steven as eaten because he either likes it or just to annoy Marc, Jake and Khonshu
-Chip sandwiches, crisp sandwiches, vegan version of meat and fish sandwiches. This is included toast sandwiches which both Marc and Jake have begged him to stop eating, even to go as far as to offer him money, to buy him something, he can have the body for a whole week to a month. He doesn’t stop
-Marmite on toast. idk if Steven would like marmite cuz it’s fuckin disgusting and everyone else agrees but i have a feeling Steven would do it once and either Marc or Jake, probably Marc, would be trying to stop him by either taking control of the body or a arm
-Prawn Cocktail anytime, i am not explaining this one
-Scotch Eggs, Steven eats the vegan version of this and Jake tried the non vegan version one and actually likes them and Marc refused to talk to either of them for a whole week
- Bubble and Squeak, once at the work gathering, he didn’t mind it but since it’s usually a Christmas food they hardly touch it
-Yorkshire Puddings are probably the only thing all of them enjoy, in their own ways. This with maple syrup and ice cream is fucking delicious and i will die on this hill
i 100% would be joining in with this to annoy them as i grew up in scotland and would bring up haggis. yes i’ve had it and yes it’s decent enough but still gross
omg I smiled so much when I saw this. YES to all of these. I wrote so much I had to add a read more I'm so sorry😭 apparently I'm very passionate about this subject
the chip sandwiches are such a call, he definetly stops off at the chip shop on the way home from work to get himself a bag of chips to make one. I feel like he'd have it with brown sauce or ketchup.
I've got a whole post on his crisp sandwich consumption, very passionate about that skdhdkd.
oh the toast sandwiches, that's gotta be just to piss them off because nobody enjoys them. it would get so bad at one point marc and jake have to start hiding the bread from him, or maybe they throw the whole toaster away.
also why do i feel like steven would try marmite several times and try to convince himself to like it. like he isn't sure if he likes it or not and everytime he tries it the others just scream louder at him to stop. he also makes marc front right after to cope with the nasty aftertaste.
prawn cocktail yes 100%, is there vegan prawn cocktail? maybe. but the crisps definetly (I think they're vegan)
omg yes he would get jake on board for scotch eggs and for sausage rolls from greggs. Marc wouldn't like it at first but would eventually come around to specifically the sausage rolls it because they slap, maybe even a steak bake after a bit.
not the bubble and squeak you're on your own there steven I can't get behind that sort of behaviour 😭 like have literally anything else pls.
yorkshire puddings omg yes!! love those. steven likes them with his roast dinner and is initially put off when marc tries them with maple syrup. but after a bit of convincing he tries it and now puts a few aside when plating up his Sunday dinner to have for pudding. I feel like jake would vibe heavily with yorkshire puddings and ice-cream idk why, he's not too keen on them when they're savoury.
not haggis. I tried it once when I visited family in scotland and it's not my thing at all. I think that's something the boys would all hate.
other things I think steven would vibe with: vegan toad in the hole (I've actually had this and it BANGS), beans on toast with vegan cheese, full english breakfast — jake would be on board with this too, but not marc, a good vegan shepherds pie too.
let's be honest their fridge would be an entire mess because I feel like they'd all like very different food, with marc and jake missing a lot of food from america. maybe they could all agree on pizza or something skdhdkd. though knowing steven he'd get pineapple on it just to piss them off.
Kalmar's question of "How the fuck did you get in here?" is politely ignored. Mm, maybe not ignored, is there a better word? Something nicer? Something ah-? Set aside? No, no that's two words- Uh-
(See, it's not that he isn't allowed to know or that she wants to keep secret-secrets from him. It's just hard to explain the strange connection she'd made between mirrors and doors and eyes and how that seemed to have suddenly become true for her. Later. When she's less shaky-shaky and sleepy and he's not Looking at her like that.)
ANYWAY. Alice holds out the jar - half full, by the way! Isn't that nice? - hands shaking. She adjusts her grip. It's going to fall on the floor. It's going to burst like a well fed tick, and spray blood across the floor and up the walls...
Alice gives it a little shake, shows how fresh it still is. It licks up the sides of the jar and tints it thickly-sickly red. The smell of iron clinging to the lid makes her stomach hurt.
"Here-" Breathless. One short, unsteady step brings her close enough to shove it into his hands. "He----re you go~" Her hands pat at his, hovering to make sure he has a good and steady grip. Red and white, like slotting a heart between ribs, kinda sorta, if she's being Silly.
She should go now. But she doesn't. She nibbles on her finger. Remains rooted helplessly to the spot. She looks up at the ceiling and down at the floor, peeks briefly at Kalmar from under her hair. He's kinda blurry, haha, Weird!
@scxrytxles has a donation
There's a grey, dead undertone to Alice's skin. Her voice sounds flimsy, too-high, not all the way there. The all-too-familiar smell of blood clings to her, and her hands aren't any warmer than his as they fumble with the back of his palms.
The outside of the jar is not quite dry, covered in smudged, reddish fingerprints. It's solid and heavy and it would be very easy to let it slip out of his spindly fingers. For a moment, he almost wishes someone would drop it. He doesn't feel quite clean or correct taking it, not looking at her -- but, then, what else is new?
"That's very charitable of you," he manages, coaxing his face into a mild smile. Sets Alice's blood carefully down on Alice's dining table.
(What the hell is he going to do with this? It's not like he has any tasks-which-require-fresh-blood waiting -- he'd just have to try and store the energy, and Alice is so, um, eccentric that he finds himself wondering precisely what spending her Life might do to his casting.
He would prefer it not go to waste if he were her, though.)
"Though I would, uh. Prefer to discuss this sort of thing in advance, if it's happening," he hears himself say. "Preparation, yes?" Stupid, probably. Too close to suggesting that he'd be happy for this to happen again. Maybe it would be better if he'd said No, like a normal person --
He steps forward to plant a hand on each of her shoulders, steering her into the chair he was occupying before she, uh, got here. (There may be the slightest hint of necromantic suggestion winding out from his hands, gently encouraging -- not forcing -- her shaky limbs to follow along. He's not really thinking about it.) "You -- sit down. I'll get you, ah --"
"I will get some things. Stay there." She's not still bleeding, is she? Probably not. She wouldn't have wanted it just dripping on the floor, after all.
He sweeps off to the kitchen half of the room, opens the cupboard to find --
Dry spaghetti? Tinned pineapple? Ibuprofen? He did not, in fact, stock up on groceries.
Kalmar frowns, checks his pockets in case there's something there he forgot about. Finally snatches up the pineapple can, and glares at it until it splits open along the side, draining the Juice or perhaps Syrup it is Preserved In into a glass.
This he sets in front of Alice, clnk. Wrenches the Jar open on the third try, finger-paints a sigil on the side of the glass -- he doesn't know if this does anything, but they can at least act like he can give some of it back -- and nudges it half an inch closer to her. "You should drink that first," he says. "--Uh, presuming you're not allergic."
Every day's a good day for self-shipping!!! 💜
Jean says he's bringing you to the farmer's market during the weekend!! What are you going to wear, what are you two going to buy, and how does the day end?
(In all honesty I have no concept about how farmer's markets work and if they open during autumn so. Hopefully I get this right XD)
Rei! Hello! You guys know me so well LOL
Farmers Markets are very fun! As long as it's cool enough. I don't go in summer cause I don't do well in the heat. But I just went to my favorite one that opened recently for the season last weekend. It was nice weather.
Mine sells lots of fresh produce and plants, dried fruits and ready made foods like pizza, popcorn, waffles, ice cream, lots of things! There's bakers and cheese vendors, and other things like dried pasta and honey and specialty items like sauces or jams. AND homemade items like straw hats and artwork and jewelry, and dresses! I'm not sure Farmers Markets usually have all the extras but I imagine so!
Okay here we go! Something like this with a large brim sunhat!
We go when it opens and bring a few tote bags. We need to invest in a cart! We'll see who has what before we buy because sometimes multiple people are selling the same thing but the quality and price will be different!
We want to get the best produce so hit that first! From one vendor we get zucchini and tomatoes, apples and bananas, from other, pineapple and lemons, peppers and carrots. This is our normal gatherings! If the season is offering fresh strawberries he gets cartons (yes, many!) of them and we have to bring the produce to the car before continuing on haha. We gets greens, winter squash and other berries as well. We need a cart I said! We have a mini spat about all the strawberries but I let him have his way and honestly we'll get through most of them and freeze some.
Okay we're back from the car again, and this guy is ready to eat like he didn't just make us breakfast a little while ago. It's brunch so we take a few minutes to sit down with waffles, muffins and fruit water/smoothies. He gets strawberry, no surprise there, and I like nut milk smoothies.
We like sitting and talking under the shade of the umbrella and people watch. We keep talking about taking Murphy our pup since there's so many other dogs, but want to train him more before throwing him into the middle of all these people and their dogs, and want him trained more to stay with us. As of now he still is very excitable. But we'll bring him some fancy homemade treats home!
We generally stay together, or at least in the same area, maybe wandering to the stall next door if the other is taking their time.
We are bad about dried fruit and get pineapple and mango, and if we are splurging, pears and cherries. I don't know who is supposed to be keeping track of finances here but today it's neither of us apparently LOL.
We like fresh bread and agree to get one two loaves. One rye and one wheat. They smell delicious! Maybe a couple other small pastry items to take home. Who can pass up a pumpkin muffin or blueberry lemon bar!?
We look at things like homemade jams, it's easier to buy then to make so sometimes get them. Also honey and maple syrups. Sometimes we'll look at dairy but usually skip. If there's a good deal on eggs we'll get them.
We are all about the food but do look at other things. We'd like more plants but need something simple. While I get a basil plant he's buying me a sunflower and lilac bouquet :D We get a hanging plant as well for the kitchen window area.
And look, it's time to eat...again! This time we share a small woodfire pizza and get vegan ice cream as well! Though Jean eats meat which is cool with me, he is open to vegetarian or vegan options. He raves about the vanilla and says it's better than the dairy version. He's very considerate when he does have meat and has cut way down on it. He says it's better for him anyway.
Okay back to the market! We've been through the fresh food and ready to eat, and the plant area. Oh and didn't forget the dog treats for Murphy. So we look at the straw hats though we both have. Also the recycled totes which, again, we have. But we look just incase.
Neither of us wear much jewelry so skip it, but look at the handmade wooden cutting boards and coasters. We have so many kitchen things but these are so nice that we get a couple of bowls. We also think about coasters for gifts.
There's some stalls with dresses, handbags and sunglasses (this is where we split up haha). I get a dress and Jean gets another pair of sunglasses, neither of which we need haha. (A version of my dress :) )
Other stalls have soaps and candles which we look at but don't usually buy, same which more handcrafted items and artwork. Again, maybe as gifts. But there is a papercraft vendor who has things like bookmarks and greeting cards and wall prints, and also magnets and keychains. The stuff is so cute we usually get a few things. They do customization too so it's a great gift for most events!
So, now we have run out of money HAHA so, it's time to call it a day.
Here's a picture of one of our produce haul. Note this man already grabbed most the strawberries...
HAHA well that was more about the market then Jean and my relationship but, that's what we usually buy! Which maybe says something about us :)
