When Our Hearts Beat the Fastest
hyejoo sneaking out of their dorm in the middle of the night to see you, a hidden relationship, closeted hyejoo and reader
word count: 1.03k
genre: fluff
an: the reader’s pronouns were not mentioned here i think? so reader is gn(it’s gender neutral for my fellow enbies only tho, not men)
part 2 is here

“i’m outside”
Hyejoo read your text over and over again trying to contemplate whether she should go out with you tonight which is probably not a good idea because it’s practically the middle of the night right now. But she’d feel bad.
If things were a little bit different and her members and other people knew about your relationship, she would just invite you inside. But that is not the case. You and her have been together for more than half a year now. And even though she knows that her members are very supportive, they don’t know that she’s queer nor that she’s dating someone that’s not a boy.
Deciding that she doesn’t want you waiting outside longer than you already are, she gets up from her bed, trying her best to be quiet as to not wake up any of her members. She fixes the sweater-your sweater- that she’s wearing, puts on a mask and a baseball cap, and then gets out of her and her member’s shared room and then finally their dorm.
As she exits their dorm, she lowers her hat enough to make sure no one aside from you would recognize her.
As expected, she spots you a few feet away, looking down at your phone and probably waiting for a reply from her.
“Hey” she says softly while walking towards you, gaining your attention. “Hi,” you respond, smiling up to her, “I did not wake you up did I?”.  And even though her eyes are practically shutting down, “of course not” she says and you know it’s a lie because just after she said that, a yawn escapes her mouth.
You chuckle lightly and her cheeks turn into a light shade of pink knowing that she’d been caught. “No, seriously. If you’re tired I can just go home and we’ll talk in in morning. Get some rest” you tell her, your voice turning soft now. “Nonsense,  I haven’t seen you in weeks,” she says. And you try to tell her again that rest is more important but-
“rest can wait. I just want to spend some time with you right now” she cuts you off. “Okay” you sigh.
She takes your right hand in her left as you both start walking into the city. Silence takes over you, it’s not one of those silences where it’s uncomfortable though. You don’t think you need to say anything to show how happy you are to finally spend some time with each other.
“Is there something you want to do?” she asks you. As you walk she swings your hands, sometimes stopping to caress you hand with her thumb. This little gesture makes your heart feel as if it could burst.
“Not really,” you answer quietly. “how about you?” She shakes her head to this.
Even though you were just walking into random directions, the thought of a destination not even appearing in your head as you were too busy paying attention to the girl who happens to have your heart and how her hand fits so perfectly in yours, your legs manage to drag you to the park.
You both finally decide to just sit on one of the benches. The only people in the park with you is another young couple who’s probably trying to spend as much time with other on their free time. Just like you two. And they’re probably too into their own worlds to notice both of your presence.
“You said you couldn’t sleep?” she softly asks you, her head is laying on your shoulder now. You hum in response. “Is there something on your mind? something bothering you, perhaps?”
“To be honest, I was quite sleepy. Then I thought of you”. She looks up at you after your admission. “I don’t know, I just missed you a lot” She stares at you in the softest way you have ever seen.
She then removes her head from one of your shoulders, and then proceeds to lean your head towards her shoulder instead. Now that you guys switched places, she puts her hand around your neck and the other around her chest protectively. It’s been so long since she last held you like this, so so long since you’ve been this close physically. “I missed you too, a lot”
“So you couldn’t sleep because you were thinking about me? And here I thought you only came to see me because you couldn’t sleep. Thanks for clearing that up I guess, it makes me feel a lot better about myself” Hyejoo says playfully. You huff at her but with that stupidly cute smile on her face that she probably only shows to you, you can’t help but smile too.
You spend more time than you expected just sitting on the bench, embracing each other. She grabs your hand and then kisses your knuckles softly, and then your lips next. You kiss her back with so much passion. You feel like your stomach is gonna burst with all the butterflies that you feel. The kiss begins to grows more intense but it’s still so soft at the same time. It lasts for not more than 20 seconds.
When you pull away for air, Hyejoo just stares at you. She really is in love with you  she thinks to herself. And you think about how good her lips taste. You touch your lips, feeling the lingering sensation from the previous kiss.
But while you're lost in the moment, your girlfriend yawns, sending you back into reality. You chuckle lightly at this.
“Should we walk back to the dorm?” you ask her. She wants to say no, she wants to go back to your apartment instead, to spend more time with you. She doesn’t want all this to end yet. But she knows that with you by her side, she won’t be able to wake up early enough to go back to the dorm before her members wake up and wonder where she’s at. She doesn’t want them to worry and she also doesn’t want them to know about your relationship just yet. So maybe someday.
She just nods her head for now.

HEAT OR HIZASHI
The Aizawas make a choice after their A/C breaks.
Word count: 1,689
*Meiya’s POV*
“Oh, good gosh!” I said as Shota and I entered our apartment. Summer season was now in full swing, meaning it was hot outside. Walking to and from school was rather uncomfortable, but we were always quickly relieved by the coolness of air conditioning. This evening, however, it felt just as hot in our apartment as it did outside. We shut the door behind us and Sho immediately went to the thermostat. “30 degrees,” he read out loud with a sigh. “The A/C broken?” I asked, fanning myself off with my hand. “I’ll check with the landlord,” Sho replied, taking out his phone.
I headed back to our bedroom and took off my hero costume, putting on a tank top and pair of shorts instead. I walked back out to the living room as Shota got off the phone. I looked at him with raised eyebrows, pulling my hair back and tying it into a bun. “They’re unsure when it’ll be fixed. Could be tomorrow, could be next week,” he answered my look. “Well let’s hope it’s tomorrow,” I replied before going to our closet to pull out our electric fans.
Shota also changed out of his hero costume into a pair of shorts and pulled his hair back into a messy bun. I set up the fans in the kitchen, facing them towards the kitchen table where we would be sitting for a while. I pulled some leftovers from the fridge, not bothering to heat them up, as the coolness of the rice and meat would be refreshing. I also got out some cold milk to pour into the cats’ bowls, which they were thankful for.
After we finished eating, Shota cleaned up all the dishes while I got all our paperwork from school. We continued to sit at the table and grade all the papers and tests that we had, even more silently than normal, as if speaking would waste what little energy we had left… the heat was so draining. By the time I finished my papers, I was ready for bed. Sho had more to grade, but I was normally in bed before him anyways. I organized my papers and got up from my seat. “Night,” I said, kissing his cheek and bringing one of the fans to the bedroom with me.
I took a cold shower, brushed my teeth, set up the fan, then laid on top of the blankets on the bed. I tossed and turned, trying to get comfortable, and finally managed to fall asleep. I don’t know how long I had been sleeping when I suddenly woke up with a hot flash. Sho was in bed next to me, and though he was on the edge of the opposite end, in my sleep I managed to scoot right next to him, causing him to drape an arm around me instinctively. Though this was how we usually slept, and though sleeping in his arms normally helped me sleep better, tonight it was unbearable.
I wriggled out from under his arm and sat up straight, causing him to stir awake as well. He looked at me for a moment before turning with a grunt so that he was laying on his side facing the fan that was pointed towards him. I scooted to the opposite end of the bed, sitting in front of the other fan, trying to cool off. I got up to get a sip of water, then unrolled our sleeping bag on the floor right beside our bed. I laid on top of that and managed to fall back into a restless sleep until the morning.
We followed our normal morning routine best we could, though we were both exhausted and hot. We finally felt relief when we walked through the doors of U.A. into the sweet, blessed A/C. We headed to the staff room and got situated at our desks. The A/C felt so good… almost too good… to the point that I felt my eyelids grow heavy as I sat at my desk. My head suddenly felt heavy as well, and it began to droop to the side, but was caught by Shota’s shoulder next to me.
“WAKEY WAKEY!!!!” I heard the loud voice of Hizashi say, causing me to open my eyes and look up at him. “Shota always looks dead to the world, but this is a new look for you, Mei!! Didja stay up too late last night partying?” he asked jokingly. I sat up straight and yawned. “You know me,” I said, rolling my eyes and stretching. “Our A/C is broken… and it’s hard getting a full night of sleep in the heat,” I explained, looking at my husband beside me, whose eyes were shut, and arms were crossed, sleeping while sitting straight up.
“You two are always welcome to crash at my bachelor pad!!” he offered. “Well, it may be fixed today, so we should be fine,” I replied with a shrug, knowing full well that Sho wouldn’t want to stay at our obnoxious friend’s apartment. I reached over and gently grabbed Shota’s shoulder. “It’s about time for class to start,” I said softly as he sleepily opened his eyes. “Mm,” he grunted with a nod of acknowledgement before stretching and getting his things ready for class.
That evening, Shota and I walked home as per normal, arriving at a once again hot apartment. “Still no A/C?” I said to myself as I approached the thermostat. “32 degrees… even hotter than last night,” I said, turning to Shota, who was taking off his scarf. “Should we go stay with Zashi?” I asked. He looked at me with a furrowed brow. “It’s not that hot,” he said unzipping his jumpsuit. Just as I expected, Sho wouldn’t want to stay at Zashi’s place… One of Shota’s most valued possessions was privacy, and we both knew we certainly wouldn’t be getting much of that at Hizashi’s place.
Neither of us had any papers to grade this evening, and honestly didn’t have much of an appetite, so after changing I sprawled myself out on the floor of the living room, hoping it would cool me off somehow. Kohi and Lotte both appeared from behind the couch and stretched themselves out on the floor near me, having the same idea of cooling off. Sho came down the hall, stopping at the end of it and looking at the state of the living room floor. I looked up at him and asked, “can we please just go to Hizashi’s?'' to which he responded with a long sigh.
“We have to pick our poison… Heat or Hizashi… I’d rather choose the one that won’t actually kill us,” I said. “So, the heat?” he said deadpan, though I knew he was teasing. I chuckled as he walked over to me and offered me his hand to help me stand up. I shot Hizashi a text that we were coming over, then went and packed an overnight bag for us. While Shota got the cats into their crate to bring them with us, I quickly made a call to the radio station that Hizashi worked for on weekends… the station manager owed me a favor. Once we had everything together, we left the heat of our apartment and entered the heat of the outdoors.
As we approached Hizashi’s apartment building, both our phones buzzed at the receiving of a group text from Hizashi. “Randomly got called in to do the overnight shift at the radio station, but I left the door unlocked, so make yourselves at home!!! See you at school!!!” Shota read the message aloud as we walked. He stuffed his phone back in his pocket and looked at me with an eyebrow raised, immediately having a feeling that I was behind it. “Well, isn’t that convenient?” I commented with a small chuckle, causing Sho to smirk at me.
We got to his apartment and let ourselves in, releasing the cats as we got inside. They had been there before, as Hizashi had watched them while we were away, but it had been a while since I had been there. As per his explanation, it was still very much a “bachelor pad” with a foosball table instead of a kitchen table, dirty dishes everywhere, a pile of unfolded laundry on the fold-out couch, and a mantle with photos of himself and an array of his radio show awards on display.
Shota stood in front of the mantle, looking at the display with a disgusted look on his face. “This is what my nightmares are made of,” he commented, shaking his head. I chuckled at his comment and then got a chill, causing my whole body to suddenly shake. “It’s so chilly in here… I’m gonna sleep so good tonight,” I said before yawning, as just mentioning sleep made me sleepy. “Ready for bed?” Shota asked, seeing how big my yawn was. “Mmhmm,” I replied sleepily, still tired from the lack of sleep the night before.
Shota reached into the bag he packed some stuff in and pulled out our two-person sleeping bag. I looked at him wide-eyed, wondering how he managed to fit it in the bag. He shrugged and commented, “I knew the couch would be inaccessible,” looking over at the messy couch. I smirked at him as he spread the sleeping bag out on an empty space on the living room floor and crawled inside it. He held it open for me, and I crawled in right next to him, helping him zip it up once I was inside.
The two cats finished their exploring and joined us in the living room, curling up on top of the sleeping bag. It was quite chilly in Hizashi’s apartment, so Shota wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to him, as I was shivering slightly. I buried my face deeper into his chest, and he planted a kiss on my forehead before resting his scruffy chin on top of my head. It didn’t take long for me to fall into a deep and dreamless sleep, undisturbed by heat or Hizashi.

chapter 11: she used to be mine
I wake up startled by a searing throb down the side of my belly. I quickly remove the sheets and there’s no blood so I try to lift myself up from the bed and start walking to the kitchen to get my decaf ready. I remember Bucky talking about the Braxton-Hicks contractions in one of our appointments a couple weeks ago and he told me I should walk so I walk. I have one of Wanda’s pregnancy books that she keeps sending me and walk, walk, walk for what feels like hours, although it’s only been 15 minutes.
I see myself in the mirror and I can’t recognize myself. My body’s changed so much, I’m pretty sure I have a few more wrinkles around my eyes and a few more freckles from all the damn walking under the sun. But that’s not what bothers me the most about all these changes. I just don’t feel like the person I used to be. She was good, a bit messy but always kind, she had a lot more hope in life for herself and those around her. I don’t know if it’s the pregnancy, or the divorce, or everything combined that’s made this version of me so bitter. And this isn’t something I can fix with a little more butter and sugar, in fact I don’t think it can be fixed.
-
It’s been the longest week of my entire life. Old Nick and Sam collectively decided to gang up on me, and I feel Bucky had to do with it a little bit too. They forced me to go on a “stay-at-home-vacation” until the baby is born, which should be any day now, so I’m just here, alone on a Saturday morning, while everybody is working, Quentin is sleeping with that woman and hasn’t even bothered to call me or show any interest in either his unborn child or our imminent divorce.
This is boring, I feel useless and I need to get out of here. This house, this awful, lopsided couch, that crooked picture frame of me and Quentin at prom so many years ago. I want to throw all of it away and start fresh in a nice, picket white fence house, just me and my baby. Wanda and Nat would come visit and I would bake some of my “La vie on rose petals and vanilla ice cream pie”, we would have a no boys allowed day when it’s just us, and sitcoms, and I could have wine or coffee again, little peanut could have a puppy or a kitty to play with and I would give her all my love and we could be a real, whole family. If I wasn’t tied to this place, these curtains that never let any light on, that man who was always so violent and disgusting but only just showed his true self, maybe I could have that pastel colored life that I should deserve. But what if this is what I deserve?
-
I called Quentin six times this week. Matt finally was able to send me the divorce papers that I already signed, but that lying, cheating, bastard hasn’t sent them back to me and won’t even dare to answer my calls or texts. I cleaned every surface of this dingy house and put every item that reminded me of my screwed up marriage in a box outside for the garbage collector to take away. Quentin can buy new shirts and underpants, if he can’t answer the stupid phone I can throw away his stuff. I don’t even care anymore.
I find myself walking again but not around my kitchen. I’m waking to the diner cause I felt trapped in the house and I need to cook, something with lots of garlic or onions, I will call it “Wrecked home scrambled eggs pie” served with sauteed bell peppers on the side and a spicy sauce dripped on top of the crust.
-
I go through the back door and into the kitchen before the girls see me, Sam reacts by giving me a side eye and continuing flipping the burgers he’s working on right now.
“Table 9 order’s ready!” Sam calls out and Wanda takes it.
“We have a pregnant lady in the back, stress baking”.
“I can hear you!”
“Alright good, well you shouldn’t be here. You’re lucky it’s a busy day so we can’t just drop everything and drive your ass back home where you should be!” Nat’s in the kitchen window scolding me now too, perfect. I knew this was coming and to be honest I prefer their banter than the deafening silence I felt at home.
“Just so you know, I’m texting Bucky and he’s coming over” Sam interjects.
“Wha- guys, I’m just baking one pie and then I’ll go, tell him he doesn’t have to come”.
“Why couldn’t you bake this one pie at home then?” Wanda asks with genuine curiosity in her voice.
I decide to be truthful.
“I felt trapped and lonely, I missed the diner. Plus I didn’t have any bell peppers at home and I was craving them”.
They all look at me weirdly, there’s no pity in their eyes, there’s just… tenderness.
-
Bucky arrives an hour after I got here, with a stern face and his lab coat still clinging to his frame.
“Hey, what’s up, sweetheart? You’re supposed to be resting”. He rubs my shoulders and all I can think is how grateful I am for this little family and this man life blessed me with.
I explain how awfully sad and stressed I was feeling at home and he takes a seat between me and Steve, who’s eating a slice of pie while Wanda’s showing him what she calls “satisfying cleaning Tik Toks”, and Sam’s chatting with Nat about a concert he’d like to take her to next week. Everything about this feels so calm and I’m even starting to feel sleepy with Bucky’s skilled hands rubbing my knotted neck and shoulders.
“Well, well, well. Look who’s decided to finally stop being a fucking hypocrite! It’s Y/N and the stupid fucking Doctor. Tell me, Doc, did you enjoy gazing at her lady parts when she’d go for a “check up” and fell in love because you too are lame and boring?”
I grab Bucky’s hand and stand between him and Quentin, using my other hand to protect my belly.
“What the hell are you doing here, Quentin? You’re not welcome here anymore”. I say, head up high but voice trembling.
“Came home to drop your divorce papers- that I’m not signing by the way- and to tell you to fuck off because whether you like it or not, I’m gonna be a father and you can’t do anything about it baby girl. It’s you and me! It’s always gonna be you and me, so tell you precious Doctor and your friends goodbye. We’re coming home!”
Quentin grabs my hand and tries to yank me away from Bucky but before I can do anything else Steve and Sam are already punching the shit out of Quentin, sitting him down on the floor and pushing his arms around his back. Bucky is taking me away from the fight, shielding my eyes from the view, he knows I don’t need this kind of stress. Nat called the cops when Quentin arrived, knowing the asshole would pull out a stunt like this. Minutes pass and I can’t step away from Bucky’s embrace to see his ass handcuffed and thrown into the police’s back seat.
Bucky takes a step back to look at my face as he feels me trembling and his shirt soaked with my tears.
“Y/N, sweetheart, it’s over. He’s gone”.
I try to form words but then it hits me.
The pain.
This is not what I asked for.
The excruciating cramp-like aches in my lower stomach.
If I’m honest, I’d give this life back for a chance to start over.
The water running down my legs.
I would rewrite the story, from beginning to end.
I can’t feel my legs. All I feel is fear, pain and anger.
This is the life that I’m bringing you into, little girl. I’m so sorry. To you, but also to the little girl I once was. Because she also deserved a good life and she’s gone, but she used to be mine.

pairing: levi x reader, and baby kaiya
summary: it’s not the first time you’re home late from work.
word count: ~2260
warnings: a shitty boss, some cursing
a/n: wrote this because i couldnt sleep last night due to the current us election... enjoy
***
Levi peeks his head into Kaiya’s bedroom, and sees her fast asleep in her bed. She’s surrounded by pillows, her lion stuffed animal, as well as her butterfly, shark, and flower pillow. It’s been about an hour since she fell asleep for her afternoon nap.
He thought he heard a noise on the baby monitor, but it was nothing. Just her shifting in bed.
Her face is squished into the pillow and Levi can’t help the small upturn of his lips at the sight.
Kaiya’s already almost two years old, and neither you nor Levi can quite believe it. Levi claims that she’s the spitting image of you, but you claim the opposite.
You’re both right.
Levi’s career allows for him to work from home for most days. You and Levi had spent the better part of two weeks setting up his office, back when you had first moved into your new home. Before Kaiya was born. He has two monitors on his mahogany desk, a sleek keyboard and an even sleeker mouse with his laptop plugged into the dock.
A photo of you and a photo of Kaiya sits next to the monitor on the left, and a photo of the three of you next to the monitor on the right. The baby monitor is in front of him, just in case Kaiya wakes up before she is supposed to.
He’s eager for Kaiya to wake up and for you to come home, and he puts his glasses on to get to work and hopefully end his day early.
***
Levi shoves a hand in his hair, expelling a deep sigh as he logs out of work. He stretches his arms and his legs, only to be alerted by a slight vibration from his phone.
It’s a text from you:
angel: gonna be late today… levi: again? angel: yes :(
Levi sighs to himself, waiting a few seconds before replying.
levi: ok, be safe
It’s the third time this week, and he’s lost count of how many times you’ve come home late over the last few weeks. At first, it hadn’t bothered him. But then it became a habit. And then Kaiya was asking for you during dinner.
That was the first of a few fights. They usually ended with you promising that you’d be better about it and draw the boundaries you needed to draw.
And yet…
Levi hears Kaiya waking up on the baby monitor, her soft coos and calls of ‘daddy’ and ‘mommy’ nearly echoing in the silent room. He turns the monitor off and walks upstairs to her bedroom, where he finds her sitting up. Her smile is sleepy and she makes grabby hands for him with her stuffed lion tucked under her arm.
“Daddy,” She beams at him.
“Slept well, Kai?” Levi asks and she doesn’t reply, instead tucking her face into his neck. Levi brushes his lips over her forehead as he carries her downstairs. She’s still warm from her nap, grey eyes blinking sleepily.
Levi gets started on dinner with Kaiya on his hip and feeds her spoonfuls of sauce and bits of meat here and there, which she accepts eagerly. She smiles widely with her nose scrunched when she likes it. You’d claim that her smile is identical to Levi’s, but he disagrees.
He’d tell you that everything good about Kaiya comes from you.
Levi gets lost in his thoughts of you, wondering if you’re on your way home. He’s having trouble remembering the last time you both had gone to bed together without the melancholy of your work schedule hanging over your head.
He sighs. Kaiya hears him and looks up curiously.
“Daddy?” Kaiya says, patting his cheek, “Mama?”
“Mama’s comin’ home late, kid,” Levi says, “Again. Do you miss her?”
Kaiya lets out a sigh suspiciously similar to his.
“Yeah. Me too, kid.”
***
By the time you come home, it’s well past dinnertime. Levi had left out a plate for you, but by now, it’s cold. You kick your heels off and place them in the closet neatly, grimacing at the covered plate on the dinner table and your empty living room.
You can almost taste Levi’s disappointment. But you just want to see Kaiya, you know she’ll be able to cheer you up.
What a shitty day. Shitty week. Shitty month. With every day that goes by, you’re getting closer and closer to telling your boss to shove his foot up his ass.
You immediately head into Kaiya’s bedroom, where you’re certain Levi is telling her a bedtime story. You’re not even sure what time it is- is she asleep? Are you too late?
You hate bringing the smell of work home, preferring to change into comfy clothes before greeting Kaiya and Levi with a kiss. But you can’t wait, not tonight. Not when you know that Levi is upset with you and when you miss Kaiya so much that you ache.
“Kaiya?” You whisper, “Kaiya, baby?”
“Mama!” Kaiya squeals, looking up from the book that Levi’s reading to her, “Hi, mama!”
You kneel next to her bed and open your arms for a hug. She jumps into your arms happily and you kiss her cheeks and her forehead as she giggles wildly.
“I missed you, baby,” You mumble, holding her close, “So much.”
You pull away and cup her cheeks tenderly, rubbing with your thumb. Kaiya only looks at you with the same disarming silver eyes that belong to Levi. Her eyes are soft when she looks at you, her grin bright and toothy.
“Daddy, story,” Kaiya says, pointing to Levi.
“Can mama join?” You ask quietly, looking at Levi.
“Don’t be stupid. Of course mama can join,” Levi murmurs, patting the spot next to him.
You don’t even admonish him for saying ‘stupid’ in front of your daughter and he says nothing about you wearing your work clothes in his daughter’s bed.
You kiss the corner of Levi’s mouth, taking his hand in his as he continues to read to Kaiya. He squeezes your hand every so often, listening to the way Kaiya gasps and giggles at the story. Levi doesn’t tell the story with much fanfare or gusto- he tells it just the way Kaiya likes. With the always present dry intonation of his voice.
You think it’s Kaiya’s favorite sound in the world.
Kaiya points at the picture in the book and giggles, looking up at you for confirmation that you can see what she’s pointing at. You hold her hand and laugh with her too, melting at the way her smile holds your world in it.
After a few more pages and a few more laughs, Kaiya begins to grow tired. She rests her head against your arm, stifling a yawn. You rub her back to lull her into sleep but she tries to stay awake.
“Are you sleepy, Kaiya baby?” You coo, kissing her forehead.
She doesn’t reply, instead closing her eyes. It only takes a few more forehead kisses and back rubs for her to fall into deep sleep. You smile at Kaiya and look at Levi, offering him a small smile as well.
“Did you eat?” Levi asks, nudging your shoulder and gesturing for you to get up.
“No, I put it in the fridge. Not really hungry. Just want to be with you and Kaiya,” You murmur.
Levi gives you a long stare and pinches the bridge of his nose.
“Don’t be stupid. Go eat. I know you probably haven’t eaten since noon. Because of your shitty boss,” Levi says pointedly.
You sigh, heading into your bedroom to change out of your work clothes and wash up before heading downstairs.
He doesn’t join you.
You eat quickly, somewhere halfway between enjoying and savoring all of the flavors and barely chewing so that you can go upstairs to talk to Levi. You wash the dishes in the sink quickly before double checking the locks and heading to your bedroom.
Levi’s in bed, reading a book and casts a look of acknowledgement to you. It feels odd, devoid of his usual affections. You know why. Because he’s upset with you.
You curl next to him, cupping his cheek to get him to look at you. Levi sighs heavily and casts his book on the nightstand.
“Your job is fuckin’ shitty,” Levi says without missing a beat, “Kaiya misses you. A lot.”
I miss you. A lot. The words hang in the air.
“I know, I’m sorry. I hate it,” You whisper, crumbling under his scorching gaze, “I didn’t want-”
“So? What are you gonna do about it?” Levi asks flatly, voice full of ice, “It’s your dream job, right?”
It unnerves you.
“Levi,” You say hollowly, “Don’t be like that-”
“Not bein’ like anything,” Levi says easily, “Your daughter fuckin’ misses her mama. This is the first time you’ve tucked her into bed properly in who knows how long- she asks for you all the time, always asking for her mama. And where is her mama? At work-”
“Levi,” You beg quietly, “Levi, stop-”
“How many times are we going to have this conversation?” Levi says hotly. You raise your eyebrows when you hear the emotion in his voice. He’s clearly been thinking this for quite some time.
“I’m sorry,” You plead, taking his hands in yours.
He pulls them away from you and your lips part in a surprised ‘o’. You’re quickly confronted with how much you’ve been hurting him.
“Levi, I’m gonna fix it. I swear- I’m gonna fix it, I’ve already talked to my boss a-and told him I can’t do this anymore-” You blubber, tears forming in your eyes.
“Can’t do what anymore?”
“The late nights-”
“Yeah, they’ll stop for what? A week? Then start back up again,” Levi scoffs coldly, “You promised you’d fix this. So fix this.”
“Levi- stop,” You mumble, “You’re being mean-”
You can’t help it- you start to cry harder, fat tears pool in your dark eyes and roll down your cheeks, as your bottom lip trembles. You let out a loud sob and turn away from him, not able to meet his eyes. Levi blinks at you, almost nervously.
“Shit,” Levi says under his breath, “Shit-”
He wipes your tears from your cheeks and pulls you into his chest, his chin over your head. His arms are tight around you, heartbeat lulling you into calm. Neither of you say anything for a few minutes, despite the apology on the tip of his tongue.
Levi hates seeing you cry, especially when he is the cause of your tears. But he knows, even if his words were cruel, the problem still exists.
It takes a few minutes for you to breathe and for your sobs to reduce to sniffles.
“I’m trying, baby,” You mumble, “I told him I need to scale back. But- he’s just so, fucking-“
And then you start to cry again. Levi wonders if there’s more to it than you’ve been saying. He wonders if there’s more of a problem than just late nights. Levi rubs your cheek with his thumb, giving you a few more minutes to gather your thoughts.
“Is something else going on?” Levi asks, most of the heat gone from his voice.
You’re quiet again, looking up at him. Trying to figure out how to allow the words to bubble up and leave your throat.
“What is it, angel?” He asks, cupping your chin for you to meet his eyes.
“He’s just so,” You sigh, “He’s so… mean. He talks down to me sometimes when we have group meetings- and I don’t even realize until the meeting’s been said and done. God, I hate what a boys club it is there.
Oh, and his favorite is that one guy who always steals credit for the work that I do- and he said he’d dock my bonus if I didn’t start picking up the slack, but I am, I’m picking up everyone’s fuckin’ slack and all I’m good at doing is hurting you and hurting Kaiya- and I n-never wanted to be like that.
I never wanted to be the person who put their career in front of their family. I should be able to have both, but not- not like this.” Your rant ends with a fresh wave of tears threatening to spill over.
“Angel,” Levi breathes, kissing your forehead, “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“I thought I could handle it,” You mutter honestly, “But I can’t. I need to get out, Levi.”
“I’m sorry I yelled at you,” Levi says, pressing his forehead to yours.
“You didn’t. It’s okay, I get it. I get it.”
“I should’ve helped you. Not yelled at you.”
“How could you know? I didn’t say anything,” You scoff, slipping your hand under his shirt to rub his chest. You missed him, and this.
“Thought we said no secrets,” Levi says lightly, “No more. We’ll figure it out.”
“‘M not working for most of next week. I need a break,” You say, pressing yourself closer to Levi.
“Good. We’ll figure it out, alright?” Levi says and squeezes your hand. He dips his head for a kiss, and you can taste the sweetness of his unsaid apology.
“You, me and Kaiya?” You ask with a small smile.
Levi nods, quelling your fears with a series of featherlight kisses that deepen quickly. His hands wander your ribcage, holding you close and warming you up from within. Silver eyes melt into your brown, and you’re reassured by his steady strength.
You’ll be okay. You, him and Kaiya. You’ll be okay.

friends to this
warnings: smutty smut smut
pairings: jj maybank x reader
word count: 3,821
You were absolutely fuming. Your face was beat red and you were pretty sure if someone looked close enough, there would be steam coming out of your ears. Your boot clad feet pounded against the dirt, the chateau coming closer with every determined step you took. JJ Maybank was going to die, and you were going to kill him.
The chateau appeared to be empty as you approached it, but you knew better than that. John B wasn’t home, as you had seen him out on his boat earlier, but you had noted that JJ wasn’t with him. Kie and Pope had been at The Wreck when you appeared looking for the blonde haired boy, but again, he wasn’t there. You knew he wouldn’t be at his actual home, so that left one more place. You didn’t bother knocking as you yanked the flimsy door open, your eyes scanning the empty living room. With every step you took, the fire in your stomach seemed to burn hotter, the intensity of your anger almost nauseating.
Your small fingers wrapped around the doorknob to the guest room, pulling it open and slamming it into the wall; you reminded yourself to apologize to John B for the new dent in the wall the doorknob had made.
JJ’s sleepy figure drowsily turned towards the loud noise, his blue eyes shining with sleep as he took in your figure. For a moment, you forgot why you were so angry at the boy as you looked at his shirtless and tired figure, his blue eyes pure and confused. But then you remembered.
“I’m going to fucking kill you, Maybank,” you spit through your teeth as you dragged your body across the room, crawling on top of the still confused boy as you wrapped your hand around his neck, squeezing. It wasn’t hard enough to actually kill him, but it was definitely enough for him to widen his eyes as his hands moved to cover yours, a knowing smirk growing on his chapped lips.
“Always knew you were kinky,” he rasped, causing you to tighten your grip on his thick neck, taking a mental note that your hand was almost too small to fit around the entirety of it.
Rafe Cameron was hands down the worst person on the island. Sure, you and JJ argued often and poked fun at each other, but he was overall an okay dude, he just got on your nerves, and you got on his. Sometimes, you’d even consider him a friend, just... a really annoying friend. You had been bantering with him for years, but recently JJ had decided to take it upon himself to up the banter. It started with you finding your car full of balloons, or your bike being locked up against a street pole and only JJ had the key, but nothing prepared you for this. Nothing prepared you for Rafe fucking Cameron knocking on your front door at 10am this morning, his hands grabbing onto your waist and his lips crashing into yours the second you opened it. Of course, you had immediately pushed him off, your palm colliding with his cheek as you yelled at him. He yelled back, revealing that apparently, you had texted him this morning asking if he’d be “down to fuck. just between you two.” When you assured him you hadn’t sent that, he called you a crazy bitch, and a fight began between the two of you. It ended with you pinned against the wall of your house, his hands wrapped around your neck as he screamed in your face as you began to see black. Luckily, your neighbor saw the commotion and he had rushed over, yanking Rafe off of you as he threatened to call the cops.
It would’ve been funny, and you admitted that to yourself. JJ had no idea Rafe was going to react the way he did, but the forming bruise on your neck was a reminder of how wrong it had went. And you were pissed.
“He almost killed me,” you snapped, finally releasing his neck as your own started to sting. While he 100% deserved to sport the same bruise as you, you couldn’t bring yourself to do it, flashes of Rafe clouding your thoughts. JJ’s eyes scanned your face after the words left your mouth before finally landing on your neck, causing him to sit up even more. You slid down his lap slightly and his arm shot out to catch you.
“Did he do that?” JJ’s jaw was clenched as his hand reached up, his fingers tracing over the skin of your neck, “I swear that isn’t... this isn’t what I wanted. If I even thought for one second he would hurt you I wouldn’t have done it.”
“I know,” you sighed, the anger slowly dissipating from your body. The anger you felt had mainly been directed at Rafe, but because you were scared to confront him after the fact, your anger had turned onto JJ. Now though, as you sat in his lap and his fingertips gently caressed the skin of your neck, you couldn’t bring yourself to be mad at him.
“I’ll kill him, I swear to god. I’ll go down there and I’ll beat him to a fucking pulp,” it seemed that the anger that had left your body had been transferred to JJ, who’s hand was slightly shaking now as he moved you off his lap and he got out of the bed.
“No you will not,” you rushed out, standing up for them the bed and grabbing the shirt JJ was about to slip on from his hands, “It was a prank gone wrong. You’ve fought Rafe enough, and you usually end up just as beat up as him,” Your hand wrapped around his bicep as you spoke, latching onto him in pleading, “I was angry at you for a bit and... maybe thought about killing you myself, but I don’t want Rafe to be the one to actually finish the job.”
JJ let out a chuckle at the end, turning to face you as he nodded his head.
“Fine,” he agreed, letting out a sigh, “But if he comes to the Boneyard party tomorrow night looking to start a fight, I can’t make any promises.”
“Fine,” you echoed, “If he comes to the Boneyard party and starts something, all bets are off. You can have at it. Just... don’t bring the fucking gun.”
“But..”
“No.”
“Please.”
“No.”
“Fine.”
***
Rafe had showed up. Of course he did. You were sat next to JJ on the sand surrounding the bonfire, the other Pogues keeping an eye on the party. You hadn’t noticed him at first, not until JJ’s hand had slipped onto your thigh, his fingers digging into your skin. When you had looked over at him, his stance was tense and his eyes were locked on something in the distance: it was Rafe, who was looking over at the two of them, his fists clenched shut.
“Don’t,” you muttered, leaning closer into JJ’s side, your hand moving over his on your thigh. His grip was tight enough to leave marks, and the thought of having his fingerprints bruised onto your skin wasn’t an unappealing one. JJ’s eyes darted over your face before landing on the bruise on your neck which was now a deep black and blue, the shape of Rafe’s hand imprinted on your tan skin.
The other Pogues could sense the tension radiating off of JJ, and they all prepared themselves for the inevitable. John B and Pope had been almost as mad as JJ, wanting to go jump Rafe the second they found out what he did, and you knew if it came down to it, they’d both be fighting right alongside JJ. Kiara even threatened to go after Rafe, but the boys had yelled at her, pointing at what had happened to you.
Your breath caught in your throat as you saw Rafe and his friends making their way over to the bonfire, your body tensing up. You were scared of Rafe, and it was clear as you shrunk into JJ’s side, almost hiding behind him.
“Well well well,” Rafe chanted as he approached your group, his eyes landing on you and flickering to JJ for a moment, “Was a funny prank, Maybank. Your girls lips felt really fucking nice against mine, but you know what felt better? My hands wrapped around her throat.”
The events that took place next were a blur. One second, you were latched onto JJ, and the next, he was up and his fist was flying into Rafe’s nose. John B and Pope were quick to join as JJ took him down into the sand, his fists repeatedly colliding with Rafe’s face. He had been caught off guard, not expecting JJ to react as fast as he had, which gave JJ the upper hand.
Eventually, Rafe’s friends heard the commotion and jumped in, all of the boys swinging at each other and trying to pull the others off one another. It was absolute madness, but all you could focus on was how Rafe currently had JJ pinned. Your feet were moving before your mind even made the decision, and you threw your body weight into Rafe, trying to knock him off of JJ. He barely budged, just pushed at you with his hand before turning back to knocking it into JJ’s face. Kiara saw you, both of you making eye contact and nodding as she approached where you were standing, both of you ramming into Rafe at the same time, causing the boy to fly off of JJ.
Your hands quickly flew to JJ, grabbing his arms and yanking him off the sand.
“Get him out of here!” Kiara hissed quietly and you tugged on JJ’s arm, signaling it was time to run. He hesitated for a moment, his eyes flickering to Rafe who was wiping sand out of his eyes, blood seeping out of his nose, but you fixed him with a hard glare and took off.
***
Your home was empty as you pushed through the front door, your parents having left for a weekend getaway. It was quiet as you lead JJ to your bedroom, pointing at the door that lead to your bathroom. He nodded, heading towards it as you grabbed a small towel from your towel rack and followed him. He had pulled himself up onto your bathroom counter, his eyes watching you intently as you grabbed the first aid kit and settled in-between his open legs. His eyebrow was busted open, and his cheek was sporting a cut from one of Rafe’s rings, but other than that, his face looked okay.
“This is gonna hurt,” you muttered as you poured disinfect onto a cotton pad and slowly swiped it over the cut on his eyebrow, a small smile gracing your lips as JJ hissed and tried to shrink away, “Suck it up, Maybank. You threw the first punch.”
“He deserved it!” His voice raised in defense, his hand knocking yours away from his cheek, causing you to raise an eyebrow at him in warning. His shoulders sunk and he put his hands on his thighs, letting you go back to dabbing the cotton onto the cuts.
“He did,” you mused, tossing the cotton ball into the trash beside you, your fingers sliding under the fabric of his shirt and pulling it up so you could inspect his stomach.
“Buy me dinner first,” he joked, sending you a wink and you rolled your eyes at him, letting his shirt fall back down.
“I’ve bought you dinner plenty of times, annoying ass,” you laughed, patting his knees and pushing away from him, going back into your bedroom. You heard his feet hit the bathroom floor and soon he was standing in front of you.
“You know I am really sorry though, right?” The sincerity in his voice surprised you, your eyes looking up to meet his baby blues as he stared at you.
“Of course, JJ. Even I didn’t think Rafe was that unhinged.” JJ nodded shortly, and you could tell he was looking at the bruises surrounding your neck, “I’m fine. I’ll be fine. Just a few bruises, if it’ll make you feel better you can kiss them to make them all better,” you teased, but JJ’s eyes lit up at the suggestion.
“Really?” He was like a little kid in a candy store as he stepped closer to you, and your mouth went dry at the thought of JJ’s lips on your neck.
“I mean.. I was.. I was kidding, but if you want to...” you trailed off, JJ now standing toe to toe with you, his hand reaching up and resting on the back of your neck, his thumb placed under your chin as he tilted your head.
“I’ve been told kisses heal bruises,” he was looking down at you through his eyelashes, his pupils blown wide, your breath catching in your throat as he leaned down and slowly traced his lips over your skin. Goosebumps erupted on the flesh he was trailing over. Your hands reached out and gripped onto his shirt, pulling him closer to you as he finally placed an open-mouthed kiss at the edge of your neck, right under your ear. You knew there wasn’t a bruise on that specific spot, but as his tongue traced over your salty skin and he began to suck, you knew why he chose it.
“Thought you wanted to make the bruises go away,” you muttered breathlessly, and you could feel a smile against your neck. He ignored you, now trailing his lips across the span of your neck until he was on the other side, his lips finding that sweet spot right beneath your jaw. A whimper escaped your lips as he began to suck on the skin, the hand holding the back of your neck tightening as his free hand wrapped around your waist.
He continued his assault on your neck, making sure to suck on parts of your skin that Rafe hadn’t touched, his eyes rolling back into his head as you accidentally let a moan of his name slip through. He wouldn’t mind hearing you moan his name forever.
Eventually, much to your dismay, he pulled away. Your vision was hazy as you opened your eyes and looked at him, his signature smirk back on his lips as his eyes darted to your lips. You had been biting down on your bottom lip the entire time his lips were on your neck, and the skin was red and plump from your teeth.
“He kissed you?” JJ’s voice was almost a whisper as he spoke, and you looked at him confused.
“What?”
“Rafe. He made a comment about how your lips felt. He kissed you?” His hand was still behind your neck, his thumb now running against your bottom lip slowly, pulling at the delicate skin every now and then. All you could do was nod, the only thing you could focus on was the feeling of his other hand trailing under the fabric of your shirt, his hand gripping onto the flesh of your hip, his fingertips digging in, causing you to arch your back slightly, your chest pushing into his, “Think I should kiss you now then, hm?” He was teasing you. You were nothing but putty in his large hands and he knew it. Before you could question him, or respond in any manner, his lips were on yours.
Both of his hands were now gripping your cheeks as you deepened the kiss, sighing into his mouth as his tongue ran across your bottom lip, allowing him entrance. You had thought about kissing JJ many times, and it had almost happened a handful of those times. Whether it was at a boneyard party and you two had had too much to drink, the lines between you becoming blurry, or you two had been bickering back and forth all day and the overwhelming urge to kiss him to get him to shut up, you somehow always refrained. As he pushed you back onto your bed, his arm wrapping around your waist and pulling you up to your pillows, you were completely and utterly confused as to why it had taken you both so long to give in.
Somewhere between the floor and the bed, JJ had ripped your shirt off, tossing his own off right after. His lips were now trailing over your chest, his teeth biting at the flesh as his hands slipped behind your back and unhooked your red bra. You were grateful you had decided to wear the cute red lace set this morning as JJ’s eyes drank you in. Your bra was tossed across the room in one swift motion, JJ’s eyes memorized by your chest.
“Best tits I’ve ever fucking seen,” he muttered, his eyes moving to yours for only a moment before he was leaning down and sucking your nipple into his mouth, his other hand reaching up and cupping your other one.
You were in a daze with every feather light touch of his skin against yours, and you wanted more. Eventually, you both were rid of all clothing, his fingers buried deep inside your soaking hole.
“Jesus Christ, JJ,” your hips were grinding down into his hand, craving even more friction. His fingers were buried to the hilt, his rings hitting the sensitive skin, and you knew in that moment your own would never bring you to the edge the way they had prior to knowing what JJ’s felt like, “Need you inside me, JJ. Please,” your voice came out as a whimper, your hand reaching down and catching his wrist to stop his movements.
“Are you sure you want this?” His wording was careful as he watched you lean over your bed, throwing your bedside table open as you rummaged around for a condom.
“Yes,” you placed your hands on his chest, pushing him off of you and onto his back. He looked at you, his eyebrows raised in confusion as you crawled on-top of him, your teeth ripping the packet open.
“What are you- fuck,” before he could finish his sentence, you had rolled the condom down his large length, giving it a soft squeeze.
Generally, JJ liked being on top. He liked being in control and he hated giving up that control, but as he stared up at you and watched as you lined himself up with your entrance, he decided maybe, just maybe, he was okay with you taking control.
As you sunk down his length, both of you let out a sigh of pleasure at the feeling. You had always known he was big, but he was bigger than you imagined, and felt so much better than any of your dreams had lead you to believe he would feel. You sat for a moment, looking at him through your eyelashes as you adjusted to his size, your hips grinding down slowly to create a delicious friction between the two of you. His hands were firmly planted on your hips, and without warning he suddenly pulled you up slightly and rammed up inside of you. A loud cry escaped your lips as your body fell forward, your hands resting on his chest as you both began to move together, your hips falling down onto his roughly.
“Feel so good,” he moaned out, his head leaning back into the pillow as you clenched around him at the words, “So fucking tight.”
He was pounding up into you, and all you could do was drop your mouth open in pleasure, unable to make any noise you were so blissed out. The pleasure was coursing through your veins and gripping onto you in a way you’d never felt before, tears forming in your eyes as the pleasure built up, almost too much to handle.
“Was like you were made for me, fuck,” he muttered through gritted teeth, and the words caused your stomach to drop, the pleasure finally slithering its way to the surface as you cried out his name. Your body had dropped, your chest pressed against his as you buried your face in his neck, your hips grinding down as he continued his pace, riding out your high. Soon after, he exploded into the condom as he chanted your name under his breath, the constant clenching of your walls around him bringing him to his end. His arms wrapped around your waist as you rested against him, struggling to catch your breath for a moment before pulling yourself off of him and collapsing onto the bed next to his body. He ripped the condom off, tying it and tossing it into the bin next to your bed. Both of you were quiet, far too fucked out to speak, but when you turned your head to look at him, you found he was already looking at you, a dopey smile on his face.
“What?” You laughed at him, your hand reaching up to slap at his chest as his smile grew. He caught it with his, intertwining his fingers with yours.
“Aren’t you gonna ask me what this means for us and all that cliche stuff?” He was still smiling as he spoke and you rolled your eyes, shaking your head as you turned onto your side to face him.
“I know you don’t do relationships. I’m not gonna get my hopes up and ask a question I have the answer to already,” he squeezed your hand, turning to face you as he propped his head up on his free hand, his elbow digging into your pillow.
“It’s not that I don’t do relationships,” he spoke softly, his eyes catching your gaze, “It’s that I’ve been waiting for you to realize I want one with you.” Your mouth dropped open slightly at the admission, your heart seeming to stutter in your chest as you took in what he said.
“Why didn’t you say something sooner?” You had moved your body closer to his, pulling your blankets over the two of you as the cold air spread across your bare bodies.
“Don’t know. Kinda convinced myself you weren’t into me like that. Thought I had blown that chance with all the pranks and teasing, but. I don’t know. Something changed tonight I guess. Didn’t like the fact that Rafe fucking Cameron had kissed you, and I hadn’t.”
“I would much rather you kiss me,” you laughed, cringing at the thought of Rafe Cameron kissing you ever again. JJ let go of your hand and wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you into the warmth of his body.
“Well then. You gonna let me kiss you whenever I want to?” His lips were now hovering over yours, a smile teasing its way onto your lips.
“Absolutely.”

Ashes Chapter 13: Perception
Fandom: Mortal Kombat 2021
Pairing: Liu Kang x Reader
A/N: Maybe it's inevitable. Definitely cried like an adult while writing parts of this. I'm a weepy baby. I hope you imagine an ugly MySpace style sparkly gif every time Y/N uses the word "kidnapping". As always, appreciate you guys <3
First Chapter << Previous Chapter Next Chapter >> Chapter Index
Buzz.
You peeked one eye open and caught sight of the smart phone dancing around on the nightstand close by. Strong arms were wrapped around you and there was no mistaking who they belonged to this time. Liu. You’d fallen asleep next to each other and somewhere along the line, in unconsciousness, he’d cuddled against you.
This was fine.
This was all fine.
The phone continued to dance and nearly vibrated right off the edge of the nightstand and onto the floor. You grabbed it from its place near the edge and wiped your eyes with your other hand. Johnny Cage. Rubbing your eyes again, you checked the time on the phone. It was nine at night. Carefully you snuck out of Liu’s arms without waking him. You’d mastered sneaking out of bed while you’d been dating Kung Lao. He was so heavy a sleeper that in the beginning of your relationship you had wound up trapped beneath his arms for hours. Then when you tried to get away, you’d wake him up. Eventually you’d mastered maneuvering from his grasp without waking him because waking him led to fooling around or talking and then you were either trapped having to pee or late for some responsibility or another.
Liu adjusted behind you but didn’t wake up. You fixed your askew shirt, grabbed your keycard, and then answered the phone and stepped into the hallway, carefully closing the door behind you.
“This is weird. I don’t think I even got your name earlier.” Johnny spoke without waiting for you to acknowledge him. You chuckled beneath your breath then cleared the sleepiness from your throat. “I know that may seem like it’s a pretty common thing for me but…”
“Y/N. You can call me Y/N.” You interrupted what you were sure was a very cleverly crafted explanation about his popularity and fame. Johnny Cage seemed like the type to be easily derailed from a topic with banter. You’d become skilled at wrangling men like that given that Kung Lao had been your other half for so long.
“And you’re from China, right?”
“Yes, but what does that have to do with anything?”
“Just trying to make sure I spell your name right…” His voice was distant, as if he spoke nowhere near the phone. You spelled your name for him with a sigh. “Is that…?”
“That is not important right now.” You interrupted him again. You had to keep him on task or this conversation was going to go on forever.
“Right, yes. I’ve been thinking about this morning.”
“And?”
“I was hoping to hash out the details with you guys before I officially agree to anything.” Johnny Cage tried to sound like he was bargaining with you but you were already convinced that he was joining you. This seemed like a formality. Or like he was dragging it out. Why? You couldn’t think of a good reason. Maybe to try and land a date with Sonya? You didn’t think that was going to happen and also it seemed petty. Then again, you and Liu were a hot mess in the middle of all of this so you couldn’t criticize anyone else’s motives. “I’ve begun clearing my schedule for the next few weeks but I’m a busy man, you know. Takes time.”
“I understand that. I’m sure that we can meet tomorrow to answer any questions you may still have.” There was no point in arguing with him on that. It was a reasonable request though not entirely necessary. Besides, you were still ready to jump to the kidnapping stage of this endeavor. If he caused too much trouble tomorrow then you would promptly lure him somewhere quiet and knock him out. Then you’d go from there. You could probably convince Cole to help you if you had to but you didn’t think it would go that far.
“That’s exactly what I hoped to hear!” You could hear the smile on Johnny’s face. “When we’re off the phone, I’ll text you where to meet me.”
“Sounds like a plan.” You yawned.
“I wanted to ask you something. You seem like a nice woman.”
Oh, how misguided a man Johnny Cage was. Oddly trusting for someone in his position. Here you were planning out an elaborate scheme to kidnap him and drag him to China and he thought you were nice. It was probably the tea thing from earlier. Ah, well. You’d fooled him.
“Ask away, Mr. Cage.”
“Just Johnny, if you don’t mind.”
“Sure.”
Then he sighed as if trying to word his question or embarrassed to ask it. You waited patiently. There was no need to rush him. You weren’t sure that Johnny Cage could be rushed. “Are you guys for real? Or are you just dicking me around? No one put you up to this, right?” After everything that you had showed him that morning, he was still stuck on the idea of this being a prank. Was Johnny often victim to silly pranks? Did he find himself the butt end of a joke amongst friends? It was funny to imagine.
“I know that this is… what’s the saying? Difficult medicine to take?” You weren’t so good with the English idioms. Maybe that was why he thought you to be nice. You were far more sarcastic in your native tongue. Your English was good but stuff didn’t always come out right.
“Hard pill to swallow but I got the point.” Johnny chuckled. “…so yeah? It’s true?”
“Trust me, Mr. Cage, I have much better things to do than play silly pranks on you.” You reassured him but he scoffed as if insulted. “That and I’d never heard of you before this.” It sounded like you’d punched him. Ah, yes, the delicate male ego.
“Low blow. Never heard of me?” You could picture the horror on his face.
“No offense meant.”
“I bet you just didn’t remember my name. Dragon Fist? Cage Match? Aquatic Assault? Exiting the Dragon of Death? A personal favorite of mine…”
“Exiting the Dragon of Death?”
“Yeah? You’ve heard of that one?”
“No.”
“Come on, don’t play with me like that.”
“I couldn’t resist.” You spoke over him as he made to list more movies. “I’m sorry to have offended you.” You were certain this could go on all night and you were still tired and now you were hungry too. Your appetite was back and you were far less shaky than you’d been earlier that day. “I did watch one of your films last night with a friend so that I could be familiar with your movement patterns.”
“For that crazy duplication thing you did?”
“For my arcana, yes.”
“…and?”
“It was a fun movie.”
“Which one did you watch?”
“Mr. Cage, this is a conversation for another time. Can we stay on topic?”
“Just Johnny, please.” Apparently no, he could not stay on topic. You pulled the phone away from your face so he wouldn’t hear your heavy sigh. Hearing footsteps behind you, you turned and found Cole approaching holding an ice bucket and offering a wave. He stopped next to you and nodded toward the phone. You mouthed that it was Johnny Cage. Then he offered you a thumbs up, pointed toward the end of the hall and walked away, presumably to get ice. “I’m making a choice to trust you. I don’t think you’re lying to me. I hope I’m making the right choice.”
“I’m a terrible liar so good choice.” He continued going on about something but your brain was tired of the babble. You needed food! This conversation felt like it would have gone on all week if you let him talk the way he wanted to. “Can I trust you no to dick us around?”
“I promise. You’ve got a deal, Y/N.”
“Text me the address and we’ll meet you just before noon.” You assured him.
“Got it. See you then.” Johnny hung up and you breathed a sigh of relief. At least this part of your trip was going smoothly. Seconds later your phone buzzed with a message from the same number. You selected the address and put it into the browser of your phone after figuring out how that worked. From what you could tell, the address seemed legit. A house by the shore. Of course, a beach house. Why wouldn’t he take the opportunity to show off?
“How’d it go?” Cole returned with his bucket full of ice.
“Mr. Cage is going to meet with us tomorrow to discuss details.”
“I anticipated us having to use your devious plan B so I’m surprised he’s going to meet with us.” Cole adjusted the bucket in his arms. “What do you think of him? I’m having a hard time taking him seriously.”
“I meant it when I said that I thought he was funny earlier. Honestly, if we had met without any of this pretense, I think that he and I would get along quite well.” You shrugged. “I also think that he’s going to do what he thinks is right if that’s what you were really asking. Seems like the type to talk a big game but ultimately a good guy.”
“That’s optimistic of you.”
“I usually have a good read on people.”
“I can tell.” Cole gestured toward your door. “You just getting in? Maybe not.” He looked down at your bare feet.
“I was napping.”
“And you came into the hallway to take a call?”
“Yeah, I was uh… going to grab food.”
“Without your shoes?”
“Are you always this nosy, Cole?”
“Not really but this afternoon has been especially boring. Plus, your reactions are entertaining.” Cole smirked. “You have more color now. That’s good to see.”
“Why does no one believe me when I say I’m just tired?” You gestured back to the room. “I’m gonna go.”
“We’re about to grab a bite to eat if you want to join us. Late dinner.”
No, no, thank you though. That’s sweet. I’m okay.”
“You just said you were going to get food.” Cole laughed.
“…I think I’ll order something.” You pointed to your bare feet but was sure your expression was one that screamed you’d been caught in the most pointless of lies. Cole had inadvertently talked you into a corner. You hadn’t even meant to lie! It had just happened. This was why you didn’t usually bother.
“You’re lying.”
“Yeah, turns out I am. I’m not good at it.”
“I can see that.”
The door to your room opened behind you and Liu Kang peeked into the hall, still looking sleepy.
“Hello Cole” Liu stepped into the hall and kept the door propped open a crack, back leaned against it. Then he bowed his head politely in greeting. He turned to you and spoke Chinese as if this weren’t suspicious. You didn’t think it had the intention that he wanted it to have. “Everything okay?”
“I had a call to take with Mr. Cage. No big deal.” You replied in English to try and make it seem like you had less to hide. Why? Because Cole was already giving you a look as if to say it was ‘nothing’. You sighed. “I’m just about done.”
“Good.” Liu replied in English. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” You snapped at him without meaning to then took a cleansing breath. He was just worried about you but you were tired of the worry. You felt far better than you had earlier. A few hours of sleep had done you good. “I really am fine.” Liu bowed his head politely to both you and Cole and then disappeared back into the hotel room.
“What was it you were saying earlier? About that being nothing?” Cole teased in a whisper after you made no move to offer any explanation.
“If you recall, I also said it was none of your business.” There was no point in trying to lie again. You folded too easily. Instead, you’d be evasive. That was easier. Avoiding the truth was far easier than twisting it at least for you.
“Liu looked pretty tired. You guys have a nice nap?”
“We fell asleep talking.” You narrowed your eyes at his implications but also hated how close he was to the truth.
“Sure, is that what the kids are calling it these days?”
You shoved his shoulder with a laugh. “Your ice is melting Cole. It’s nothing.”
“Yeah, I’m going to have to mentally shift my definition of that word to better fit what I’m seeing.” He teased. “You’re trouble, Y/N. I’m making note of it.”
“You have no idea, Cole.” You pointed to the room behind you. “I’m going now.”
“Enjoy your nothing.” He called after you. You disappeared into the hotel room and then leaned against the door once it closed. You fiddled on your phone and sent a message to Jax, relaying what you’d learned from Johnny Cage along with the address and what you’d agreed to. The door to the small bathroom to your right opened and Liu stepped out, closing the door behind him. He waited patiently for you to finish on your phone.
“When I woke up and couldn’t find you, I was worried.” He nodded to the messy bed where you’d been sleeping. And snuggling. You mustn’t forget that there had been a fair amount of snuggling.
“My phone was ringing and it felt rude to answer it with you asleep so I stepped into the hall.” You shook the phone in your hand and then filled him in on the conversation you’d shared with Johnny Cage. You left out the exhausting banter that had kept you on the phone for far longer than necessary. Even if it had been mentally exhausting, you had also enjoyed talking with him. Your phone buzzed with Jax’s response. “Okay, Jax is going to arrange a ride to take us to meet Johnny tomorrow. He’ll also let everyone else know where to meet.”
“Good.”
Silence followed and you stood awkwardly in the small entranceway of the hotel room.
“So.” You began.
“So.”
“You should probably go, right?”
“Yeah.” Liu shifted but made no move to leave and a smile played on his lips. “Or… I could stay. We could order some food and continue our… getting along for the day.”
“Mostly getting along.” You corrected. Maybe he’d chosen to forget when he’d pushed you against the wall and you’d nearly undressed him. You blinked the mental image away. If you thought about it for too long then you’d probably end up right back where you’d started. “We could. Is that what you wanted to do?”
“Are you okay with that?”
“I guess.”
“There was a menu around here somewhere.” Liu walked back into the open area of the room and you were grateful he’d taken the initiative to make the decision to stay. In all honesty, his presence was comforting and conflicting. You craved the comfort but the guilt and pain made you want to push him away. Your brain was such a mess. Your emotions were even worse. You joined him and mulled over the menu, trying to discern what was safe for you to eat. Liu called to place the order since he had several questions about the food. His diet was more specific than yours was. You had never quite taken to the vegetarian diet completely. Your food arrived and you sat on your bed and ate while making quiet conversation. It was pleasant, if not a little awkward. In a way, it was reminiscent of when you would spend time alone together when you were first dating Kung Lao. You had often avoided discussing the difficult things then but not for the sake of each other. Instead, it was for Kung Lao.
“Cole seems to have taken a shine to you.”
“Yeah, he’s a nice guy and his family is cute. I think he feels guilty about Kung Lao so he’s compensating a little.”
“I could see that. I tried to reassure him that he isn’t to blame.”
“I did too.” You clicked your tongue in amusement. Liu gently nudged you with his shoulder.
“Today was nice.”
“I mean, parts of it were.”
“We had a bit of a rough start but things didn’t end so horribly.”
“Well,” you began in a higher, nervous pitch, “we didn’t exactly fix anything.” Liu laughed. “And I think we definitely made things worse but… all things considered, neither one of us is dead and we aren’t screaming at each other so that’s something.”
“I was thinking and… maybe we don’t have to fix anything.” Liu avoided your eyes and began to clean up dinner. You knew why he was avoiding your eyes because you were looking at him like he’d lost his damn mind. He had. He was insane. You couldn’t keep going like this. You both knew that. “We can’t ignore it, obviously. But we can’t expect to resolve anything when we’re like this. We’re grieving, Y/N. We hurt each other. But I also think that it could be healthy to try and find a way to be content amongst all of that too. We can’t force a resolution, Y/N. I think that’s clear.” Liu’s smile was soft but strained, like talking about it so analytically pained him. “I don’t think I can handle this much misery all the time.”
“I understand.” You didn’t necessarily disagree with him you just couldn’t see the end either. He seemed to think there was some kind of happily ever after waiting for you and you didn’t think there was. The only end to life was death. Even if you found happiness eventually, life would continue moving. No amount of happiness would erase your history nor would it erase your trauma. That didn’t mean you wouldn’t find joy. You were just being realistic. “It’s weird, isn’t it?” You helped him gather the dishes. Liu then placed the tray aside on the desk. You picked up the tray and placed it carefully outside the door and then returned to him. “Surreal is maybe a better word for what we are right now.”
“Surreal works.” Liu’s smile was forced and it pained you. “We’re going to be okay.”
“Oh, you think so, hmm? Confident in that?”
“I am.” He grinned but you could still see that worry behind his dark eyes. Liu had never been a good liar either. It was a wonder that he’d fooled you all those years ago. Perhaps because he’d said all the things that you’d been afraid he’d say.
“I suppose the worst thing that could happen is that we decide not to talk to each other anymore and lose touch. Then in like, thirty years, we’ll reunite and reminisce about the old days. Then this won’t seem so complicated anymore.” You hadn’t realized how much you’d considered that as an option until then. Liu seemed alarmed. “What?”
“Is that what you plan to do?”
“That would imply that I’ve thought past today so… no.” You sat on the side of the bed facing the window. There was no way to open the window so this was as close to the breeze and the stars as you could get. “But it happens. People drift apart even after being as close as we were especially after traumatic stuff like this. And this is a pretty messed up thing we’re dealing with, Liu. I can’t pretend to know what will happen.”
“I don’t want to drift apart.” He sat next to you and cautiously placed a hand over yours on the bed between you. There were times where he treated you like a ticking time bomb. This was one of them.
“Of course not, Liu. I don’t want that to happen either.”
“You had that scenario pretty thought out.”
“This time, Liu? You’re the one overthinking things.”
“Maybe.” He watched out the window, but you felt his thumb brush over the back of your hand. Looking at the night sky was easier than looking at each other. But right now the night sky looked empty. You didn’t see the stars. Just the lights of busy Los Angeles, a thing which brought you no peace. “Do you think you’ll still be this cute in thirty years?”
“I uh…” You laughed and pretended to consider it. “I didn’t think about it. For the brief moment I considered this make-believe scenario, you were still cute.” You joked and nudged him playfully.
“You’re beautiful Y/N, so I’m sure you will be too.” Liu still didn’t look at you. “I always thought so. Even when I used to tease you.” You rolled your eyes at him in disgust and he laughed again. You were well beyond being bashful at his compliments.
“Cut it out, Liu.”
“I just don’t want to leave it unsaid.”
“It feels like you’re trying to butter me up.” You narrowed your eyes in suspicion.
“Maybe. Or… perhaps this last week I’ve been cruel to you. I thought that I’d pay you a compliment instead.” That was as good an excuse as any. You had dug at each other quite a bit the past few days.
“I’m not vain.”
“I know. I always liked that about you.”
“Stop it, Liu. You’re freaking me out.” You laughed and shoved at his shoulder.
“I won’t.” He leaned back on one arm. You reached for your phone on the bed behind you as it buzzed. Jax had verified the location online as legitimate. He’d even found out that the property belonged to Johnny. Apparently, Jax had been much more suspicious of him than you had been. You’d decided to trust Johnny. And if he lied to you then you’d just go to plan B. Kidnapping. Jax continued on to say that he’s pretty sure the asshole just wanted to show off his beach house. You chuckled. You’d thought the same thing. You replied quickly to ask if you were still to meet in the morning in the same place. Jax replied to be in the lobby by ten. “Going off without a hitch?”
“Are you spying on my conversation?” You cradled the phone protectively against your chest and pouted.
“I didn’t mean to.” You set the phone aside face up. You had nothing to hide anyway, you’d just been trying to lighten the mood. Then you watched the dark sky out the window and tried to find something positive to say about it. He was right. You’d had too much unpleasantness lately. “Kung Lao would have loved…”
“Do you think about that a lot? What Kung Lao would have thought or felt?”
“Don’t you?” You thought that was obvious. “We spent most of our time together. This is the longest I’ve been alone in years.”
“I… hadn’t considered that.” Liu’s eyes fell to the floor. There was plenty that you hadn’t thought regarding each other. “It must have been hard waking up next to me.” You sighed heavily. There were those difficult conversations you couldn’t seem to avoid. You didn’t know how to respond. That wasn’t an easy answer. If you could have lied and said it wasn’t weird than it would have been simpler. But lying had gotten you into this in the first place and you didn’t want to lie. You were so tired of hurting.
“I… yes.” You sighed and then closed your eyes tight. “But I confess that I miss being held.” You hated saying it and even got the chills as you did. You and Kung Lao had spent most nights at least next to each other if not tangled up in each other. Liu was watching you with those big sad puppy dog eyes of his again. “But I also feel selfish and awful for having briefly thought it was nice.”
“It’s okay to be selfish at times.” He clasped his hands together in his lap, as if nervous they would betray him as they had often done. “I confess that when I woke up alone, I panicked.” You smiled a little. You hadn’t considered that he would be upset to wake up alone after falling asleep next to you. Oh, boy. You were both a mess. “But then I remembered this was your room and you had nowhere to run, really.”
“Did you briefly consider that I was so dedicated to running away that I went and got another hotel room to avoid you?”
“No.” He laughed and then furrowed his brow as if trying to picture you doing that. “You didn’t consider that, did you?”
“Of course not.” You chuckled, resting your elbows on your knees. “The phone rang and I didn’t want to wake you. That’s about as far as I had thought.” Your head was pounding and you realized all at once that you were clenching your jaw. Ugh, tension headache. “At least this time I woke up with all of my clothes on.” Liu laughed softly and avoided your eyes. Then he laughed harder as if he’d just gotten the joke. “What’s so funny?”
“It’s kind of like déjà vu, isn’t it? You woke up next to me again and then I woke up alone.”
“You know, Liu, I’m trying, but that’s not funny.”
Still he laughed and you watched him in disbelief. Was it you? Were you the one cracking up?
“I have to laugh, Y/N. I have to or I think about how screwed up it is.” He leaned back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. His face fell. You turned to watch him in disbelief and your stomach twisted up into knots. “I just couldn’t help myself, could I? I had to… cross that line.”
“Liu…” You didn’t want to fight again. You thought you had made a truce for the day.
“I have to say this, Y/N.” He turned his head to the side to look at you and you leaned on your side to better meet his eyes. They were so sad and it was killing you. “The woman that Kung Lao planned to spend the rest of his life with. Only a little while after he’s gone and I just… how selfish I am.” You searched his troubled eyes and then couldn’t help but laugh but you weren’t smiling either. Liu knit his brow in confusion.
“Liu, I… I said the same things to myself.” You offered a sympathetic smile but he didn’t seem relieved to hear that. “Not about you, obviously. I don’t think I’ve ever used the word selfish when describing you, really. Or at least meant it. Maybe out of anger… but I… how could I? Kung Lao’s best friend. His brother. I feel like I just lost him and I still, somehow, couldn’t manage to keep myself together well enough not to sleep with you.”
“Sometimes we’re a lot alike.”
“Most times it feels like we’re oil and water.” Now you avoided his eyes, afraid of what yours might reveal to him. “I’m sorry that I ran off that morning, Liu. I panicked. I didn’t know what else to do. I was terrified and embarrassed and ashamed and… the idea of having to talk to you about it was too much.”
“Why were you so scared?” He turned on his side to face you, as if eager for this answer, as if he had been caught wondering that same thing for too long. “I know it was a… big thing but I…”
“I guess no matter how I played it in my head, it went wrong. You uh…” You were having a difficult time saying the words without getting upset. “I kept picturing us having to find a way to… be okay with… it being a mistake because… I…” You were frustrated with yourself for not being able to say it. “It felt like a mistake. Like we’d fallen into an old habit. Or that it was just… a transaction and I couldn’t hear those words again after everything. I was already falling apart and I don’t know what that would have done to me. And then… you being receptive to it would have been just as painful… I… Kung Lao…” You had to stop there. You were pretty sure you’d made your point.
“I think I get it.” His eyes were taking you in while yours were avoiding him and were most likely glassy with tears. “Maybe I didn’t consider how much I’d hurt you back then. It never crossed my mind until you brought it back up and I realized the damage I’d done. I hadn’t considered myself that important.” There was that similarity again. Neither one of you thought yourselves to be important to the other when it was far from the truth. “I wish I’d had a say in the matter that morning.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I understand now.” He sat up and offered you a hand to help your back up too. you took it and sat up with him but he didn’t let go of your hand. “I’m sorry too. I’m sorry that I reacted so angrily. That I was so cold to you. I thought it might make things easier and put distance between us.”
“Did it work?”
“No. No, it didn’t. I wish, more than anything, that I could go back.” His eyes were dripping with sincerity and you avoided his gaze again. You couldn’t help but think that if this had been Kung Lao, you never would have had this conversation. Nothing ever would have gotten resolved. You had both avoided your emotions like the plague.
“To that morning? Hard pass, Liu.”
“Think about it. I could wake up with you. Keep you from running. We could talk.”
“That’s a fantasy, Liu. It wouldn’t have ended the way you want.” You threw him an accusatory glance. “You’re fantasizing. I was too panicked. I would have lashed out.”
“And maybe I could have kept a level head.”
“It’s a fantasy.”
“Let me have my fantasy, Y/N.” He laughed and gave your hand a squeeze. His smile faded as he let go of your hand and closed some of the distance between you. Your instinct was to pull back but you didn’t. He pushed your hair away from your face and tucked it behind your ear. The loose strands of your long hair tickled your neck as they fell back into place. You turned your gaze away. His hand was warm as it rested on your cheek and you could feel him admiring you.
“Seems dangerous to let you.”
“Many good things can be dangerous, Y/N,” he whispered. You got the shivers and moistened your lips nervously. You should have moved back when you’d wanted to. You were so much closer than you’d realized and his lips brushed just against yours. He was going to kiss you and you knew what would happen. Tender kisses led to feverish kisses. No kiss between you had ever stayed just that. You had never once exchanged a soft, momentary kiss. Every single time you had wound up in his arms. His lips would treasure yours like they were something priceless and yours would tease his in return to make him want more. Then you’d be naked.
The more time you spent this close to Liu the more inevitable it seemed to wind up in his bed and you weren’t sure that was the right thing. You weren’t sure it wouldn’t destroy you. It was a dangerous way to think but he was right too. Many of the best things were often dangerous.
“Don’t.” You managed and caught his eyes, half-lidded and admiring your lips. His gaze snapped back up to yours and you watched as he took a careful breath. You could feel it against your lips. He was thinking it too. How dangerous this had become.
“Probably a bad idea, right?” His voice was low and just for you.
“An incredibly bad idea.” You tried to joke but your words fell flat. It was miserable being this close to him and not kissing him, against every instinct in your body. You could feel as he ran his tongue over his lower lip, as he weighed the pros and cons of defying you. You held your breath.
Then he scooted back a few inches. You felt like you could suddenly breathe, like the air was less thick than it had been so close to him. Your heart was hammering away and it was a headrush, as if to punish you for having wanted that kiss. You cleared your throat and put more distance between you. But try as you might, you couldn’t stop thinking about those marks you’d left on his back that you had so clearly felt earlier. Did he think of how you’d clung to him in passion every time he shifted and felt those scabs? That was truly a dangerous thought.
“It’s late. I should go.” He had turned away, but his eyes were wide and his breath was short, as though he were also fighting dangerous thoughts.
“Yeah. Good idea.” You got up and walked past him and around the bed. He followed you and then walked past you to the door. Then he bowed politely.
“Goodnight, Y/N.” He looked hesitant, as if he were still considering crossing that line again.
“Get out, Liu.” You gestured to the door behind him, making the choice for him. He laughed and did just as you asked. Once he’d gone, you leaned against the door with a thud and whined. “What am I doing?” You closed your eyes tight and felt a wave of guilt weigh you down. Then you flipped the swing bar lock shut on the door as if this would provide you with protection from your stupid feelings.
Maybe you had to reconsider the situation.
Maybe this was inevitable.
Maybe guilt wasn’t enough to keep you from being attracted to Liu Kang.
It felt wrong. It felt like you were betraying Kung Lao. It was too soon and you were too broken. But maybe someday it wouldn’t be those things. You weren’t sure how long either one of you could wait either. Spending the afternoon with Liu had been eye opening.

Can I Call?
Pairing:  Frankie ‘Catfish’ Morales x gn!reader Word count: 1,390 Rating: T  Warnings: Fluffy Frankie, a little swearing, no beta (If i slipped up on the gn bit, let me know so I can fix it. I’ve read this 4 times so my eyes very well may have missed something)
Summary: It’s been a long time since you’ve heard from Frankie, so when his name flashes on your screen, there is no telling what it could possibly mean.
A/N: This little fic was inspired by @lose-eels and this post. I love me some awkward and gentle Frankie. He’s so cute.

“Another day, another dollar,” you sigh, collapsing into bed after finishing your nightly routine. “I need to do SOMETHING to shake things up one of these days. I’m losing my mind like this.” The light from your phone screen turning on draws your attention, eyebrow arched at the text message notification. “Frankie? The heck does he need so late?” You weren’t prepared for the cuteness when you opened the message.
‘Hey, I miss you. Been thinking about you a lot lately.’ Smiling like a fool at your screen, you quickly type out a reply.
‘Miss you too. We need to see each other again soon.’
You had known Frankie for years, since before he left to join the military. Since before he had his first child. The two of you were usually pretty decent at staying in touch, but recently things had fallen off. It was no fault of either of you, you were both just adults who led busy lives, especially with his new baby. He had remembered to send you a picture of her, and you had it saved in your phone. She looked so much like him, it warned your heart. The phone buzzes in your hand again and you slide the screen open.
‘Tomorrow? Coffee at Reyes’?’
“He knows me so well,” you giggle, typing back.
‘Sounds good. Let’s meet around 9. Crowd is a lot smaller then. I can’t wait to see you.’
And so the back and forth continues for another good hour or so, the conversation veering off in all kinds of directions. You learned he had divorced the mother of his child, learned he had ended up turning to coke to cope with the PTSD his time in service had left him with, learned he had been working on getting clean after having his license thrown under review. It had only been about two years since you had last spoken to him, save the picture of his baby girl, but the way he was describing things made it feel like so much longer. Eventually, you start to struggle with keeping your eyes open, deciding to send him a goodnight message. A few moments later, you get one final message from him, barely awake enough to open it.
‘Fuck, can I call you for like two seconds to say goodnight? Is that weird? I’m going to do it I don’t care’
Not a moment after you have finished reading the text, Frankie’s name and that goofy picture you took with him a few years ago flashes on your screen. Suddenly wide awake, you slide the screen to answer it.
“Hey there, Frankie,” you whisper, as if trying to not wake someone else up. He sighs your name when you answer, and it sends a tingle through your whole being.
“I just, fuck, I couldn’t wait till tomorrow to hear your voice again.” Your heart stutters in your chest at his confession. You would be lying to say that you hadn’t missed that voice, gentle and soft, always with that little hint of mischief.
“I’ve missed you too, Francisco.” You settle yourself back against your pillows, smiling up at the ceiling as you listen to him.
“Yeah? You have?” His voice perks up, and you can imagine the excited light in his eyes. “It’s just...it’s been so long and something was just telling me I needed to reach out tonight, I know I don’t do it nearly enough.”
“Frankie, calm down, it’s alright. We’re adults, we get busy. I’m just happy to hear your voice again is all. I’ve missed it.”
“I’ve missed yours too,” he whispers, and if you weren’t so tired, you’d swear you almost hear a longing in his voice. “I’m...I’m not bothering you...am I? You’re whispering.”
“Huh? Oh, no, you’re not. I guess I’m just conditioned to be quiet at night.” You sit up, pulling your knees to your chest as best you can. “If you’re asking if someone is gonna beat your ass for calling their boo at 11 at night, don’t worry, you’re in the clear.” His laugh in your ear is one of the most beautiful sounds you have heard in a very long time. It makes you feel like you’re floating, and you can’t help but giggle along with him.
“Good, good. That would make tomorrow much more awkward.” You can hear the apprehension in his voice, like there is something he’s wanting to say that he just can’t bring himself to. So you decide to ease him into it.
“Morales, I’ve known you for almost a decade, and you’re as much an open book over the phone as you are in person. Where’s your mind at right now? I can tell something is bothering you.” The other end of the line is quiet, and you fear you might have lost him for a moment till you hear shuffling and what sounds like a car door closing.
“I miss you, Sol.” The tender way his old nickname for you pours from his lips has your heart nearly leaping from your chest. “I miss being next to you, relaxing with you, laughing with you. I miss...us.”
“Frankie, there was never an us…” Your voice is small as you hug your legs. “We were two friends, we were never an us. You never looked at me that way.”
“Sol, I looked at you that way all the time...it was just...never while you were looking.” You hear a car engine start in the background. Where is he going? Your pulse races in your veins. Had you really been so oblivious that you never noticed him looking at you in any way other than a friend? “I didn’t want to push things, is all. You were happy and I was happy and it just felt right. Then you started dating Brent and I thought you just...didn’t like me the way I liked you. Then I got Marcy pregnant and I just...everything got complicated and it’s been on my mind for weeks, Sol. Weeks. Ever since I got back from South America. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you and I just-”
“Come over, Frankie,” you cut off his rambling. “Screw waiting for tomorrow, I want to see you now.” Frankie splutters into the phone, trying to make a coherent reply, and you hear the sound of his engine revving through the earpiece as he sets you to speaker phone. “I never saw you looking at me, I never knew. I didn’t want to make things...weird. I didn’t wanna make things hard for you since you were going to get deployed…”
“Santa María,” he mutters breathlessly. “A couple of fools, we are.”
“A right matched set,” you agree, laughing lightly. “I’ve missed you too, Frankie. I still have that goofy picture of us with Santiago and Ben on my nightstand. Had a couple of dreams about you too, since you’ve been away. Keeping me up at night without even talking to me,” you laugh, matched by him.
“Well, I may just be continuing that keeping you up streak.” You grin at his snarky reply, jumping out of bed when you hear tires in your driveway.
“Promise?”
“Oh absolutely.” You hear the slamming of a car door as you tug your sleep shirt over your head, one of the ones he had left at your place years ago when he was home on leave, and bolt for the door. Knuckles get one tap on the door before you are throwing it open to see your Frankie standing there, scruffy and sleepy looking, that baseball cap you got him when he first deployed pulled down over low over his eyes. He lowers the phone from his ear, flashing you his sheepish smile. “Hey there, Sol. Long time no see.”
Instantly, your arms are around his waist, burying your face against his neck. God, after all this time, he still smells the same. Like aftershave and axle grease. Oh, how you have missed that smell. His arms wrap around you, holding you as close to him as he possibly could, reveling in your warmth. It feels like home. When you finally break the hug, you take his hand and pull him inside, sleep long forgotten. As he follows you to the bedroom, an amused smile crosses his face.
“Is that my shirt?”

I Don’t Love You Anymore
Part 3
Tumblr media
Here is is, friends! The last part! I hope you guys enjoy!
Reader and Angel finally see each other. Will they make it work or go their separate ways?
Warnings: angst, fluff and swearing.
It had been a week and You still didn’t know what to do. His voice.. his amazing, beautiful, soothing voice. You didn’t realize how much you actually missed him. So much better than what your dreams had given you. You felt bad for hanging up but you didn’t know what else to do. You did get brave enough to text Ez back two days later and apologize but you couldn’t handle it. He replied sweet as ever that he understood and he was sorry he just wanted you to know about everything. And now that you did you didn’t know how to feel. You laid in your bed as silent tears fell down your cheek. You missed Angel. You loved him, and you always would. But could you go back? Could you take the risk and run to him? You weren’t sure. So for now you were staying put.
———-at the clubhouse——
Angel was acting like everything was fine. Trying to put up some front. Even though Ez told him how hard you took everything and what you went through he was trying to ward off the hurt he felt when you hung up on Him. Even though he knew he 100% deserved that he was using the anger to block the sadness he was feeling, the Loneliness.
Coco was worried. Easily seeing through his friends act.
“Aye yo Boy Scout. Is he okay?”
Ez shrugged “I don’t know man. I think this is calm before the storm. I keep trying to convince y/n to at least come visit but I mean, I can’t blame her for not doing it either. I just wish I could do something.
“We all do Boy Scout, we all do. We hate seeing him like that. Hell, we all mis y/n. Ain’t been the same wit out her ya know?”
Gilly walked up then. “Yeah, man, I miss her laugh. It was fucking contagious. “
Bishop came around the corner just then cutting off your conversation.
“Alright guys, Galindo has a run for us. We’re out in ten. “ he looks around “Where is Angel?”
Just then, like he’d heard Bishop ask, Angel walked through. Everyone staring at him like he’s a ticking time bomb.
“What the fuck are you guys looking at? You should take a picture. Wack to it or something. “ he went to go walk off and Bishop stopped him.
“We have a run for Galindo, let’s go.”
The guys headed for their bikes and Bishop stops Angel.
“You good Hermano? Or do you need to sit this out? Cause I need you there. ALL of you.”
“Angel bit the inside of his cheek trying to hold back any smart ass comments. He knew Bishop meant well but he didn’t need anyone questioning his ability.
“I’m good presidente, I’m all here. “ And with that he was out the door.
———————————————————————
It was 3:40 Am. You were sound asleep when your phone started ringing. You swore if it was the new girl at work asking for guy advice again you were gonna lose your shit. You did not care and you were losing all patience with the situation. You grabbed it not even bothering to look at who it was and answered it.
“Hello?” You said through a yawn.
“Y/n, look, I know I said I wouldn’t call you but..”
“Ez, it is almost 4 o’clock in the fucking morning. You better be dying or I’m going to kill you myself.”
It was quiet. You could have swore you heard ez sob out. You sat up straight all trace of sleepiness gone.
“Ez, what is it? Please..” your voice cracked
“It’s, it’s Angel. We were on a run and he. “
“Ez.” You were crying now. “Please, please don’t tell me he’s dead. He has to be okay. Right?”
Ez sniffed and swallowed hard.
“He’s alive, but it’s bad y/n. Someone knocked him, Coco and Riz off their bikes. We were hot on their trail but they fired at us and two shots hit Angel.”
You are sobbing at this point. You didn’t think it was possible for you to feel anymore heart break than you did the day Angel broke up with you but here you were wishing you could relive that moment over 10 times if you never had to experience this. “Is everyone else okay?? Is he going to live?”
“Everyone else is fine. A little scratched up but they are okay. “ Ez sighed “I don’t know. That’s why I’m calling you. I know, I know you two don’t really have good standing but I know how you feel and I knew you’d want to know.. maybe you’d, even want to come see him? Look, it’s up to you I just wanted you to know. I have to go. Love you hermana.
And with that the line clicked off and you dropped to the ground. Screaming, crying, sobbing uncontrollably. You could feel yourself hyperventilating. You can’t believe the world was doing this to you. What did you do to deserve this kind of pain? Why would the world try to take the most precious human from all of humanity? Sure, he had his faults but he meant well.. you screamed again and you aunt came rushing in.
“Y/n! Y/n! What’s wrong?? What happened?? What’s going on baby? Talk to me!!!”
You are trying to calm down and you finally manage to talk between sobs.
“It’s.. *sob* Angel *sob* he’s been in an accident and *sob* they don’t know if he’ll make it.”
By this time you’re a hysterical mess with snot everywhere and tear stained cheeks. You aunt is holding you tightly and rubbing your back trying to calm you down.
“Hush baby, I know it’s scary but I need you to calm down, pack a bag and tell me where I’m booking our flight to.
You blinked fast not sure you heard her.
“Wha..what?”
“You heard me baby. You need to go see him.”
You cried again and nodded.
“But, what if, what if he..”
“No.” She cut you off. “There are no what if’s here. Now, go, hurry.”
You smiled and got up and started throwing things in a bag. You don’t take much. A couple change of clothes and the essentials as you were getting your stuff together you told your aunt where you needed to go and she went online and ordered the plane tickets. You’re waiting to board the plane and somehow you still haven’t ran out of tears you’ve tried to call and text Ez but he hasn’t responded. You’re hoping at this point that no news is good news. You start to get anxious and start pacing back and forth.
“Y/n baby you need to relax. Sit down and just breathe. You will be there in five hours tops. “ your aunt tried to sooth you.
“I know, I know I just.. what am I gonna say? What do I do? What am I even doing? Am I saying goodbye? Am I trying to fix things? Am I just there to make sure he’s okay? What do I do when I get there??”
You aunt sighs as she grabs your hand and pulls you next to her.
“Baby, all that will come later. You need to focus on just being there for him. He needs to get better and pull through. You can worry about the complicated stuff later. If you ask me, you being this upset and traveling to get to him, you already have your answer. “
——————————————————————-
Time seems to go by slow when you’re in a rush.. sludge. It’s like you’re just stuck. You’re at the hospital and you feel so small. You’re trying to run but it’s like you’re going in slow motion but finally, you get there. Everyone is there. Your family. Bishop and Ez are who you spot first you run up to them, seeing the saddened look on their face.
“Ez, Bishop. Where is he? Is he okay?”
They are just staring at you. Why aren’t they saying anything? Your heart begins to race and you can feel the tears building up behind your eyes.
“Princesa, why don’t you sit down” Bishop gestured to a seat with his hand.
“No. Stop beating around the fucking bush. Where is Angel? I need to see him”
You start crying and Ez grabs you in a hug.
“I’m sorry, y/n. There’s nothing they could do. “
“NO! THATS NOT TRUE. “ You are all but screaming at them. Beating against Ez’s Chest. “He can’t, he can’t be gone!!! I didn’t get to tell him that I love him. I didn’t get to tell him I need him. Please, PLEASE.”
You fall to the ground as Ez guides you gently to the floor. All the Mayan men surrounding you as you are screaming.
“Y/n! Y/n!!” You feel someone shaking you saying your name and it feels muffled. You slowly open your eyes and as the adjust you see your aunt beside you worry creasing her forehead. The ugly colored seats of the plane in front of you. You look around confused but then, a sigh of relief washes over you. A dream, it was a terrible dream, no nightmare.
“Baby girl? You were tossing and turning. You started crying “no no” I was trying so hard to get you up. Are you okay??”
You nodded slowly. “I, I had a nightmare that I was too late. He didn’t make it and I didn’t get to tell him that I love him. I need to make sure he knows that. “
Your aunt smiles a comforting smile at you and holds your hand.
“You will, we’re here baby. Now we just need to get an Uber to the hospital and you can tell him everything. “
The Uber drive didn’t take as long as you expected. Your nerves were twisting and turning as you approached the hospital. You had a sense of deja vu as you pulled into the front of the hospital.
“I’ll catch up with you, go ahead. Go see your love. “ your aunt patted your hand and you tried to give her a smile. You got out and started walking to the doors. You let out a breath you didn’t realize you had been holding and you walk up to the desk about to ask to see Angel a voice stops you.
“Y/n? Is that you?”
You smile slightly as you turn around.
“Bishop!” Tears start streaming down your face as you run to him. You practically jump into his arms and he holds you tight. “It’s been way too long.” You breathe in the familiar scent of cigarette smoke and leather as you reluctantly pull back you sniffle back a few tears.
“How is he? Is he, is he okay?”
“He’s in critical condition. But he’s holding on. Boy still has some fight in him. He’s fucking stubborn, kid. Don’t worry he will be fine.
You knew he was trying to make you feel better. You could see the uncertainty written all over his face. But you nodded and agreed anyway.
“Am I aloud to go see him?”
“I think he’d like that”
You turned around so quick you might have gotten whiplash. Ez was standing there. Eyes blood shot. Tiredness and worry creasing his forehead. You’re sobbing now as Ez is pulling you into his arms. He just held you until you calmed down.
“I got here as fast as I could. Is he awake?”
Ez shook his head. “No, but I’m glad you came. I could tell he wasn’t trying to fight for his life. Like he was giving up. So I told him, I kinda told him I called you and you said you were on your way”
Ez rubbed the back of his head as you wiped away the tears.
“But, you didn’t even know if i would.
“No, but I had a feeling. And hey, it worked. I don’t know what it was but he started making progress so wether you showed or not, at least he was trying.”
You just hugged him again and new wave of tears sliding down your cheek. Ez grabbed your hand and lead you back to Angel’s room. You took a deep breath and closed your eyes before walking through the door. There he was. Your love. Your heart. Your whole world in a bed with tubes and wires everywhere. His color looked grey, and even though he was sleeping he didn’t look peaceful. You walked slowly toward the bed as a new wave of tears trickled down your cheek. You tried to control your sobs but you just couldn’t as you sat down in the chair next to the bed.
You held his hand and laid your head on top of his hand. “Oh Angel.” Your voice broke. “Please, Angel. Please keep fighting. Please. I love you, I need you and we can’t fix things if you go. Please, don’t leave me. I’m sorry I didn’t stay. I’m sorry I hung up on you.. I just. I didn’t know what to say. I still don’t but I just need you to wake up so I can tell you I love you. I never stopped. I always will love you. “
He didn’t wake up, it wasn’t like in the movies where they magically get better but what did happen melted your heart. He squeezed your hand. You swear he did. You popped your head up. “Angel! That’s right baby. Keep fighting. I’m here. I swear I’m here and I’m not going anywhere.”
It didn’t happen again but it gave your heart hope. And so you swore you wouldn’t move from this spot until he woke up.
——————
*Angels POV*
All he could hear was the reoccurring beeping. His mind was fuzzy. What happened? He felt sore. “Why can’t I open my eyes? And what is that annoying ass beeping noise??” His mind was racing. Then, over the Beeping he heard it. Your voice. The most angelic sound he has ever heard. “y/n! I’m here baby. I’m here. Please don’t cry. Why are you crying?” He squeezed your hand and that was all he remembered before he felt more exhaustion taking over and fell back into a dreamless sleep.
————5 days later———
*Angles POV*
His head hurt, his chest hurt, hell his whole body hurt. He could hear voices but they were muffled. His eyes slowly blinking open. Everything was foggy at first. But as everything became clear he thought he might die of his heart stopping. It wasn’t a dream. He DID hear you. You were there. You looked tired. Eyes blood shot and puffy. Your hair was a mess but he had never seen anything more beautiful in his life. He felt a tear slide down his face and he went to go to her but were stopped. You looked down at all the cords and IVs. “You’re awake! Oh precious Angel, you’re awake. “ you looked up as you hear hear speak. You reached for her and she hurried quickly to you.
————————————
*your POV*
You were sitting in the same small room that you have been since you arrived. Wishing, praying, hoping whatever you could do for Angel to wake up. You were just about to doze off when something caught your eye. You turned to see Angel trying to move. Tears pouring from your eyes. “You’re awake! Oh precious Angel. You’re awake.” You got up and hurried to him and cupped his face gently sobbing. “Are you okay? Are you hurting? Do you need anything? Do you remember what happened?”
He smiled. Same ole y/n. Always making sure everyone is okay and taken care of and going a mile a minute.
Ez appeared at his other side and placed a gentle hand on angel’s shoulder.
“Hey brother. Glad to have you back.”
Angel was still looking at you. He couldn’t believe you were standing there. He thought he would never see you again. He finally tore his eyes away from you and looked at his brother.
“Ez, what happened?”
“I’m gonna go get everyone while you explain.” You smiled and went to leave but Angel grabbed your hand. He didn’t care. He was afraid you were gonna disappear and he didn’t want you to leave. You could see the worry in his glossy eyes so you leaned down and put your forehead to his.
“I’m not going far. I will be right back, I swear.” You kissed his forehead and it sent his heart into a frenzy as you walked away to get everyone.
It was a busy couple hours. Everyone in and out. Doctors coming to check on him. Finally at the end of the night everyone has gone home. Except you. You never leave. You sat next to him. He looked at you. He had so much to say.
“Angel, i.”
“No.” He cut you off. “I was an ass. I fucked up and I’m sorry. I was trying to keep you from getting hurt and I.. “ he started to cry “I made it worse. I hurt you more than the club shit would have and I’m sorry. I love you y/n. I always have. I can’t tell you how sorry I am and i will spend the rest of my life making it up to you if I have to. I missed you. I missed you so fucking much. I understand if you don’t want to give me another chance, but I just needed you to know. Fuck, I hate myself.”
You stared at him. Tears streaming down your face. You knew he was truly sorry. You knew any other person would have ran and told him you weren’t coming back but you just wanted to hold him and heal every broken piece of him. And that’s what you would do. You didn’t care if he was wrong. You loved him and you were tired Of waiting for that to go away. So you answered him the only way you knew how. You kissed him. You kissed him hard and fast his lips urgently moving against yours. He was holding you as close as he could never wanting to let you go. But all too soon you pulled away. You kept your eyes closed and placed your hand on his cheek.
“Please, don’t hate yourself. I’m here. I’m not going anywhere. I need you, too, Angel. I love you and I never stopped. I’m sorry I ran, I just couldn’t stay. It was too hard and now, I wish I had of. And I’m sorry”
“Querida, please don’t apologize to me. You have nothing to be sorry for. I deserved everything I went through. You, however, didn’t deserve any of that and I will hate myself forever for being the reason you felt any amount of pain. But if you let me, I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you. I swear.”
You wiped the tears from your eyes and nodded your head.
“Angel, I would love nothing more than that.”
He pulled you close and he kissed you, softer this time but still just as needy he swore he’d never let you go again.
—————————————————————-
*two months later*
Everything had went back to normal. Angel got to come home 3 days after you guys talked, your aunt wished you both the best as she went back home and everything seemed okay again.
It was a Friday and it was another wild night at the clubhouse. Party was in full swing as you sat at the bar nursing your beer a smile on your face. This was home. This is where you were meant to be and this is where you would stay. You were watching coco and Bishop play a round of pull when all of the sudden Angel stood on the bar behind you, startling you.
“AYE CAN I PLEASE HAVE EVERYONES ATTENTION?” all eyes on Angel as he jumps off the bar and drapes his arm around you. “I know everyone knows that I am in love with y/n. Everyone also knows I fucked it up. “ you looked at him about to object but he put his finger up. “I don’t understand how such an amazing, beautiful, and caring woman would ever love me back and I can’t understand even more how she could forgive me for being such an idiot. But she did. I know we just assumed we picked up where we left off but I can’t do that.” You furrowed your brows. Confused on what he was saying. He turned to you holding your hand. “I promised you I would spend forever making things up to you. I intend to do just that but a start to forever needs something. Something that is and has always been yours.”
Angel got down on one knee and pulled out the ring you had given back the day you left. You had tears in your eyes and a smile on your face as he held your hand and looked at you with those beautiful big brown eyes.
“Y/n, will you please do me the honor of making me the happiest man in the world? Let me love and cherish you all the days of our lives and remind you everyday that you are queen of my heart. Y/n, will you marry me?”
You were crying as you nodded your head eagerly. “Yes, Angel Reyes! I will!
He smiled as he slid the ring on your finger and took you up in a hug and kissed you. Everyone clapping and cheering for you two.
“I hope you’re ready to spend forever with me, cause I’m never letting you go again.”
Angel kissed you again and you smiled cupping his cheek gently with your hand.
“I’ve never been more ready or more sure about anything in my life. I can’t wait to be Mrs Angel Reyes.”

• Kazuichi Soda x Reader

BTW YALL this might sound accidentally self insert-ish but that’s because I gave the character interests (since this is a date fic) but I dont know anything else to put for them. anyway enjoy still.
Tumblr media
“So, there’s no one there?”
I glared at her, death staring into her clear, blue eyes. “What the fuck is ‘there’?”. She sighed and lightly hit my arm. “I’m asking you if you have a crush, silly!,” she spat, yet her tone remained friendly. I shook my head. “I don’t find any of these people attractive, Sonia”.
“So you wouldn’t go out witj a classmate?”
“No, Sonia”
She stays silent, suddenly darting her eyes at Hajime. “How about him,” she asked,“Hagime seems like a nice guy”. I shrugged. “Not my cup of tea, really”. She then points at Teruteru,“And him?”. I looked at Teruteru, who was already gawking me. “God, no, Sonia,” I gagged,“Too perverted for my liking”. She then began listing names. Here is what I had to say for all of them.
Hajime: Boring
Nekomaru: LOUD
Fuyuhiko: Mean and short
Nagito: Psycho!
Eventually, she gave up. I didnt feel any way of them, who’s to know how I feel about anyone else at this school? “Fine,” she said, but her eyes lit up,“Oo! How about-”.
“Oof!”
He had bumped into me, knowing me to the floor. Kazuichi Soda: the Ultimate Mechanic. “Yeah, him!,” Sonia said. I looked at Kazuichi, disgust on my face. “Not in a million years”. “Huh?” (Kazuichi was madly confused). Sonia grumbled,“What’s wrong with him?”.
“What isn’t there wrong with him? He also doesn’t bathe!”
“Ouch, I bathe,” he said. “Why were you in such a rush anyway?,” I asked. He shrugged, but eventually sighed and revealed his reason. “I got excited,” he said softly. Sonia and I were confused.
“I just got updated on my— something. I’m going to the office to see what they have to tell me about this thing I’m in the middle of”
I was confused, but I had to know now. “Anyway, I’m sorry,” he said, walking right past us. I stood there, but Sonia got my attention. “Come on, we’re gonna be late to Economics”. She grabbed my arm and pulled me to class. When we got there, everybody was huddled up. There was something they were being discreet about. “Hello, friends,” Sonia said,“What are we talking about?”. “Kazuichi,” Ibuki said without the slightest hesitation.
Okay, maybe not that discreet.
“What’s wrong with him?,” I asked,“Besides all that, I mean”. “Cut him some slack,” Hajime said, now I knew the situation was a little more sensitive than I thought. Sonia and I both got our chair to listen. Hajime sighed,“This morning, I woke up and went to get Kazuichi for class. He wasn’t in his room. Later that day, I went go check on him and he was in his room, but when I opened the door, his eyes were just read and tired. I asked him is all was well, he only nodded and smiled. It took a while, but he still told me he was okay, now adding in the detail that the board had gotten back to him on his request to be transferred elsewhere”. My mouth dropped slightly. “Transferred where?,” I asked, Hajime only shrugged.
“This is all Sonia’s fault!”
We looked at Hioyoko, Sonia quick in defending herself. “He wouldn’t transfer schools because of me, it’s probably all your fault,” she was defensive,“Maybe if you weren’t so mean to him all the time—”. Suddenly, arguing broke out. I heard many things. Hajime said he hasn’t shown interest in her lately, Sonia seeming slightly offended. Gundham was blamed, Ibuki wasn’t being blamed (she was never cold with him). Suddenly, Mikan spoke out. “Wait!”. She yelled, so we were quiet. Surprised by her tone, it made us all shut up. “What if it’s all our faults?,” she suggested,“Y-You didn’t have to be cold to him. Who else besides Ibuki or Hajime spoke to him without immediately judging character?”. It made me think, but suddenly Fuyuhiko spoke. “Fuck that!,” he said,“The dude probably wasn’t enough to be here so they dropped him. He was also probably too embarrassed to say that. And the eyes? Please! They were red because he might be some type of pothead; high out of his mind!”. “That’s a really shitty thing to say,” Hiyoko said,“Even *I* know that’s harsh”.
“I don’t give a fuck; Its true”
Hajime shook his head,“I’m gonna agree with Mikan”. “Wait isn’t it like extremely hard to transfer from this school?”. “No, not quite,” Chiaki said,“When given valid reason, the board can transfer a student elsewhere”. “If in fact the mistreatment of Kazuichi was the reason he sought transfer,” Peko added,“He probably went with ‘mental health concerns’. Since we’re all of age, he wouldn’t need to run it by a parent or guardian, making it much easier for him to transfer”. There was silence. “So what now?,” I ask. Hajime had a quick answer,“We treat him better”. “Is it not too late?”. Peko shook her head.
“If Kazuichi really went to simply be spoken about the appeal, students are given three days to make their final decision. Afterwards, there is no going back since students are allowed an appeal once”
We all still sat there. Were some of us actually cold towards him? I mean, everyone else in the academy didn’t even acknowledge him (neither did some of us, but we were around more, right?). “Alright, studebts, to your seats now!”. The professor being there had us scurrying away from Hajime’s desk. Throughout the whole class, I couldn’t focus. I kept thinking of Kazuichi, but why? Why did I care about him leaving so much?
The bell rang, Sonia waited for me. Econimics was our last class every Thrusday. The minute I was within her reach, she continued the conversation from earlier today. “So, I was thinking: you can’t talk to boys for shit,” she said. “And?”.
“What if I set you up on a blind. date.— huh? How about that?”
I sneered. Blind dates—they were such a tacky idea to me, what the fuck, but this was Sonia. She always new what was best for me when it came to, well, everything. Plus, it might be fun, or funny?
“Oh, what the hell. I’ll give it a try”
Sonia smiled so hard, her eyes shut. She squealed. “I cant wait,” she said,“I promise, this’ll be good for you. Just you wait!”. She kissed me on the cheek, leaving me behind. “Wait— we aren’t going home together?,” I asked. She shook her head. “I have some things to take care of! See you tomorrow, love”. She hurries her way. That girl. I’ll never understand her…
“Hey, how’s it going? … Nice … Well, now that you ask, I was wondering if you were open to a blind date? … Splendid! Friday, agree to meet with this girl, here’s her number … Let’s make things more interesting … Don’t tell her your name … Yes, you do know her”
I got home, setting my book bag down and practically collapsing onto my mattress. What a day. Before I got in thought about all that I was told today, as if on cue, my phone rang. It was a message, one from a number I had never seen before.
???: Hi :)
I was friendly, I didn’t have to be.
Me: Hello :)
As if a second cue went off, Sonia texts me.
Sonia: Has your blind date messaged you? btw make up a name! dont reveal anything !
Me: OH okok
I return back to the unknown sender.
Me: sonia put you up to this ?
???: yes, ma’am (or sir, or i have no clue. sonia said you were a girl. sorry)
Me: hey dont worry, sonia said she was setting me up with a guy, so i assumed too. i am a girl and being called ma’am doesn’t bother me.
???: well you assumed correctly, but thank you for letting me know, ma’am i get unsure.
???: anyway, what’s ur name?
I thought of a good, normal name, but nothing occurred to me. I looked all around my room for an object. Suddenly, my eyes landed on the family camera I had left in my room whenI used it for a project.
Me: my name is cam, hbu
???: Zero
Me: Is that really your name?
Zero: no but it makes sense to me
Me: wdym?
Zero: itd just me i guess
Me: ur gonna make me sad booo
Zero: oops, sorry !
Me: lol Its fine. but seriously, I know there is someone who cares about you. if anything Is wrong. you can talk to me, even if our date friday goes to shit :)
Zero: Yeahyesh thanks for that, Cam. its just my friends, i dont feel seen by them and it just feels like my parents have followed me.
Me: Well, they probably really love you. if it helps, I care about you :))
Zero: you’re very kind
Me: aw noooo. anyway, how was your day?
Zero: it coulda been better. yours?
Me: yeaaaa same here
Zero: what’s wrong?
Me: found something out ab a friend of mine.
Zero: is everything okay?
Me: Yea it all should be if I can fix things with him
Zero: you must really care ab him
Me: yea i really do
“Zero” decided it’d be best to change the subject since he figured it was slightly depressive (which it was). From the time I got home (4am) to 12am, we talked. I was excited because for once in my life, I was speaking to someone who liked the things I did. The same movies, the same bands. He listened to a lot of new wave and indie rock. Eventually, I got sleepy, so we called it a night. He called me cute and let me go to bed.
I actually looked forward to our date Friday. I didn’t care who he was, for he was perfect.
Morning came around and I just wanted to talk to him. In fact that’s all I did. We texted in homeroom, Theater, Calculus, etc. It was Friday today, meaning we’d have to meet today after school, thus revealing ourselves. Sonia and I were in calculus and she noticed I wouldn’t put my phone down. “God, someone’s obsessed,” she teased. “He means everything to me,” I said, breaking no eye contact with my screen. Sonia went to Kazuichi, who I have class with for Calculus, Government and Chem (which we both failed last year). I couldn’t care to break my focus on my screen, but I did head him mutter “she’s perfect”. So Kazuichi found someone else? That’s fine, but will she care enough to stop him from transferring? Could be be transferring for her?!
As the day grew the situation began getting fucking dire.
I was headed to my final class, chemistry. I had my phone in hand, texting away and very distracted. Suddenly, just like yesterday: “Oof!”. I was on the floor and above me? Kazuichi Soda. “I’m sorry, oh my god,” he said as he helped me up. I shook my head. “Nono, this time it’s my fault,” I said, dusting myself off,“I wasn’t paying attention”.
“I was also very distracted, heh”
I smiled, picking his phone up from the ground. His screen turned on, exposing that he had been listening to music. “Cocteau Twins”. I handed him his phone. “You like them,” I asked. He nodded,“Do you?”.
“Yeah, I do”
“Cool... where are you headed?”
“Chem”
“Why so early? There’s a whole hour and a half till we have to be there, plus the 5 minute tardy bell”
“I like being early. Where were you going?”
“My room,” he said,“I can’t find my chemistry journal, so I figured I should look for it before class”. “In your room?”. He nodded. For some sick and weird reason, I felt bad leaving him to do that on his own. “I can help you,” I blurted, almost instantly. His face lit up. “Really?!”. His overly joyed expression brought a smile out in me as well. “Yeah,” I answered softly. He grabbed my hand and ran with me up to his room, having me keep up with him. We got to his room as my heels skid slightly behind him. When opened the door and turned on the light, my jaw dropped.
His room was a complete and utter mess.
“Kazu- how is anything gonna get found in here?,” I asked, trying to keep my tone as calm as possible. “Its manageable,” he answered, entering and starting to look through all his junk,“I haven’t had the energy to clean my room anyway. It hasn’t really bothered me”. I shook my head as I walked in. “No, this isn’t right,” I said, an idea coming to mind,“Why don’t you lay there and rest up a little? I’ll clean your room”. His eyes lit up. “Really?”. I nodded, a warm smile creeping up on my lips. “Well, okay,” he answered,“Thank you, sweetheart”. I couldn’t even react to the pet name. His hat rested over his eyes as he quite literally fell asleep before my very eyes.
With that, I got to work.
Cleaning out his room, taught me a few things. He also happens to like the same films as I do, but he likes more action films. I also learned he has a much bigger wardrobe than I thought. Lastly, he isn’t as mess as I thought. He had everything one would need to clean, even owned a vacuum. It took me about 1 hour and 5 minutes to clean out. I hadn’t realized it was that long, time went by me like a breeze. I approached him and sat by him. In a pattern, I shook him carefully then played with his hot pink hair, which was softer than expected.
God, there’s something wrong with me.
He woke up and I removed the hat from over his eyes. He lay as he looked around, seeing his room uncluttered. “Wow, it’s like a brand new room,” he said happily. “Yep”. He sat up and smiled back at me. “Thank you,” he repeated.
“It’s nothing, really”
His voice was still groggy, I could tell he was a little dazed after his nap. He lay back and laughed to himself as we sat on his bed. “What?”. He shook his head as the lazy smile on his face grew slightly wider. “You’re really pretty”. I blushed a little, and laughed nervously. “Thanks”. He sat back up again, we both had no idea what to do now, but look at each other. It was a comfortable silence. I could forever into his oddly colored eyes.
I wanted him to kiss me, now.
I’ve truly lost my mind. I had no idea if it was just tension or anything but that. Would I like it or would I despise it. I decided to maybe test these waters, but before I could, he beat me to it. Out of nowhere, he grabbed my chin, pulling me to his lips. Kissing me skillfully, he lay back and I followed so I wouldn’t be away from him, leaving me straddling his lap. What a day to forget to wear shorts under my skirt. With how he kiss me and I kissed him, it was no secret we wanted this for a while now. The fact that I wanted this made my stomach knot. We pulled away, slightly winded. “That was so fucking hot”. I proceeded to tell him this never happened. He agreed it didn’t. Then he added:
“I’ve never done that before”
“Neither have I-”
Then, it hit me. Kazuichi was my first kiss.
“This must be a very shitty realization,” he said, laughing a little. “Shut up, let’s get to class”. He nodded, getting up from bed, seeing that his journal was on his now clean and visible desk. He picked it up and now we were ready to go. We were still early, despite distance and how crowded the halls were. We sat at our own table, usually we both sat alone since none of our friends had this class. We all knew each other, but we wouldn’t exactly call certain people friends. Anyway, during class, I was extremely bothered. I felt sick and I couldn’t stop thinking about that fucking kiss.
At all.
I really didn’t want him to leave. I couldn’t stand the thought of him leaving. I had to stop it, but why did I want to anyway. Is this pity? It didn’t feel like it; I can tell when I pity someone and this didn’t feel like pity. Could it be that he’s always been there?
I’ve never fallen in love before, nor caught feelings. Something about him felt so familiar. What has Kazuichi done for me?
I began to think and it all came to me. The times I had no one else to talk to so he’d be there, whenever someone has bailed on me I’d go to him. I’ve taken him for granted, yet he’s smiled through it all. To think I’d hurt him made me feel worse. “God, I hate this class,” he whispered to me. I broke away from my thought. “Oh, me too,” I answered,“How are you doing, though?”.
“In this class?”
I nodded. “Terrible”.
I mouthed an “oh”. After a second, I offered a solution. “Well, you can always ask me for help,” I said. “Seriously?,” his eyes lit up like when we were in his room. God his crooked, toothy smile had me smiling, it was intoxicating. “Yeah, come to me anytime,” I said, getting quiet. This was quite awful. On top of that, I remembered I had a date after today. I didn’t even want whoever the fuck I had to meet with. As planned by Sonia, we were to meet at the bridge in between dorms on the third floor at 7pm (mind you, I don’t have a room in this school so there really is no reason for me to stay so late). Now that I think about it, it really sounds like more of a meetup than a date. Maybe it wasn’t so important for me to meet this mystery man. I can just text him I was no longer interested.
And that’s what I chose to do.
After class, I bumped into Sonia. She smiled widely when she saw me. “Oh my god, Are you excited for tonight?!”. Here I am, bursting her bubble.
“No”
Her smile went down slowly. “Why not?,” she asked. “I’m not going”.
“WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN YOU AREN’T GOING?”
That was probably the loudest she’s ever spoken. “I mean, I don’t want to”. “But this was important, what the fuck,” she seemed too upset about it. “I don’t want him,” I said,“I’m into someone else”. “WHO?”. I swallowed before the name came out of my mouth,“Kazuichi...”.She slapped her hand over her mouth. “I know its emba-”.
“THAT’S NOT WHAT I’M GONNA SAY, oh my god. You have to go still, don’t leave your blind date hanging, please. I’m begging you, please!”
I scoffed.
I nodded. “Fine, but I really cannot pretend to have a good time,” I said to her. Nodding frantically, she said she knows. Ultimately, it was my choice and she knew that. Sonia walked home with me, then said she would walk back with me when it came time to meet my blind date. She wanted be there for when he was revealed. I got a message from this man when I got home.
Zero: Hey, are you sure you want to meet?
I raised a brow and showed Sonia. She covered her mouth, but quickly told me to say yes. So that’s exactly what I did.
Me: Yeah
Zero: ok
“He isn’t into it,” I said, showing Sonia the messages. “He will be”. Damn, she was so dead set on this and for what? “Come on,” she said,“We should get going”. I nodded, getting up from the floor we sat on in my room. Locking up, we swiftly headed to the bridge.
It was dark by the time we got there.
“Hello?”
No answer. “Maybe wait a little,” Sonia suggested,“He gets shy”. I turned to her. “Do you know him?,” I asked. “Of course I do”. She must’ve misunderstood what I asked. “No, but do you know him know him,” I cleared up,“like is he close to any of us”. She nodded, now I was really curious. A couple minutes passed and he still wasn’t there. “See,” I said,“Fucking no-show!”. My hands clenched into a fist. Sonia was getting closer to me, looking as if she had some consoling words to say, but she stopped. Smiling, she backed away. Then, I heard footsteps behind me. She stepped away from me, nodding towards me, but that was just a signal for me to turn around. I heard a gasp,“You?”.
The familiarity of the voice—it all made sense now.
“You!,” I cried. My eyes watered as a smiling Kazuichi stood in front of me. I hugged him and I could tell he wasn’t expecting me. “God, I thought you’d hate me,” he sighed, relieved. I shook my head. “I’ll leave you to it,” Sonia said,“I have to go anyway; my ride’s here”. We waved her off, getting back to each other. “Wanna head into my room?”.
We headed into his room, snuck in, I’m not supposed to be here. He threw himself onto his bed as his hands made a gesture for me to get on. I straddled him like before and kissed him. “Someone’s excited,” he teased. I scoffed. “I’m not the only one”. His face turned red as he looked away. “Hey, Kazuichi? Can we talk”. He nodded, waiting for me to introduce the topic.
“Hajime and, well, everyone else including Sonia and myself were talking and—”
“Yeah?”
“That you’re leaving?”
“Oh... yeah. I am”
I frowned, getting off him, now sitting next to him. He looked upset now that he remembered. “It isn’t too late now, is it?”. He shook his read putting his hat on his bedside drawer (me thinks this is the first time I’ve seen him without a hat). “Tomorrow, I go confirm my decision,” he said,“I feel... miserable in Hope Peak. I don’t belong here”.
“Kazu...”
“You don’t know what it feels like not having anything in common with anyone. Everyone being so fucking distant”
“I do know how the first one feels, but... we have each other to relate to”
“I just hate how this school makes me feel and I want it to go away”
He shivered as his eyes began to water. It hurt so much to see him cry. I never have. “Baby, look at me,” I said to him,“We all love you, okay? I love you. I’m sorry for being so cold towards you this whole time. You were always there”. He stuck his head into my chest and just let everything go. I played with his hair as he got rid of emotion. I lay his head down and straddled him again. Quickly, I kissed all over his tear-stained face, the taste of salt persistent on my lips. The kisses got him riled up and giggly once again, making him tackle me. I fell back on the bed as he did the same to me. He smooched me on the lips before giving me his final word.
“I’ll think about it, okay?”
I nodded, not pressuring him. I wanted him to be so sure about staying. I also wanted him to know that if he did stay, I would be there, always. “You need a ride home?”, he asked. I could have gone home, but I didn’t necessarily want to. “Aw, don’t you want me to stay?,” I pouted. The way I said it was so playful it almost felt like teasing. He blushed frantically answering,“Yeah, I do”. I then realized I didn’t have clothes to sleep in.
And no, sleeping in underwear could never be an option. (Not yet, at least)
“Damnit, I don’t have clothes”. That’s when he opened his drawer and threw some sweatpants at me. “You have a shirt under that one, correct?,” he asked. I nodded, unbuttoning my school shirt. it was a silk black undershirt, could be used as an undergarment or sleepwear. “Hey, I’m just gonna go out to the communal to wash up, okay?”.
“That’s fine, baby”
He smiled, heading off with his toothbrush and towel. Once the door shut, I with a I slid off my socks. I then stood up and took off my skirt. The clothing fit me kind of snug, but I didn’t mind. I lay back and waited for him patiently.
His shower was quick, well, in my opinion it was. His hair gave off a brisk scent, as he lay next to me. His eyes looked weak as he hug his face into my chest. It wasn’t in a weird way or anything, so I simply assumed he was tired. “Are you sleepy, yet?”. He nodded, his face in deeper. “I’m really sleepy,” he said softly. I ran my fingers through his hair like before and let him sleep. Watching how at ease he was in my embrace soothed me to rest. According to Hajime, he was usually a light sleeper. The slightest touch or noise would wake him up. He would shift around or mumble in his sleep. This time, it was different.
It was peaceful.
The next morning, I woke up and put on yesterday’s clothes. When I got to putting on my shoes, I felt him move behind me. “Good morning, sleepyhead,” I said sweetly. “Good morning, angel,” he said, his voice straining as he stretched with a grunt,“Time?”.
“9:30”
He got up and threw on a pair of clothes that I have never seen him in. “You want a ride home?,” he asked,“I meet with the board today at 10. If I take you home now, I can make it back in good time”. I nodded, going hand in hand with him after he had put his shoes on.
I never knew Kazuichi drove. I recall him say he had terrible motion sickness, yet here he was driving me home in a borrowed car that had been worked on in the school’s auto shop class. I had nothing else to talk about and the silence was killing me. “So you can drive?”.
“I can drive”
“What about your motion sickness?”
He clicked his tongue. “Yeah, that’s always been there, always will be,” he began to explain,“but I’ve learned to ignore it”. He put his arm around me, smiling. I smiled, yet I was terrified. What if I wasn’t enough to make him stay? As he drove, I noticed he had nothing in mind. With Kazuichi, you can always tell when there’s something on his mind. Always. He’ll squint, mouth some words to himself...that’s how you know. It began to overwhelm me and I wanted to cry. I wanted to cry knowing there was possibly nothing I can say or do for him to stay. He may know I love him, but what if the timing was off?
Oh, well.
We arrived at my home, him walking me up to my doorstep. He kissed me, his smile dropping afterward. Fuck, he must’ve noticed... “Hey, is everything okay?”. I nodded. “Okay,” he said, uncertainty in his tone,“Well, text me if anything!”. I nodded, a faint smile on my face. I headed inside and lay in bed.
My memory of that Saturday and the Sunday that followed are fogged. I don’t remember leaving my room, let alone my house. Monday came around. I was nervous. I walked down the halls, Sonia standing and an expression of worry spread across her face. “Sonia,” I said,“What’s wrong?”. She gulped and I knew nothing positive would come out of this.
“Hajime hasn’t seen Kazuichi all day”
My eyes widened and I wanted to pass out. “No, that can’t be!”. I didn’t want to feel this. It was all guilt. Why, though? Everything seemed fine when we had last seen each other, it made no sense. “You haven’t talked to him?,” she asked. I shook my head. Sonia sighed. “Okay,” she began,“We have government today. Your only class with him. All we have to do is wait and then we’ll know for sure”. I nodded, trying not to let emotions get to me.
Now in government, I waited, We all did. None of us had heard a word from him. Soon enough, an hour passed: no Kazuichi. Tearful, my eyes shut as I placed my head on my table. Hajime walked up to me. “If its in any consolation at all,” he began,“Kazuichi really did like you. He loved you. I’m sure he knew you loved him”.
“Why the fuck do you make it sound like he’s dead?”
“I see how it would sound like so. I’m just gonna leave my words at that”
My eyes were burning and a headache began growing. Suddenly, there was pounding on thr door, pounding that startled the class. The teacher sighed. The knock was that of a late student, which obviously would’ve annoyed her considering this is a 65 minute class and it had been an hour or so. A student volunteered for the door and there stepped in a distressed Kazuichi.
“WHY THE FUCK DIDN’T YOU TEXT ME?!?”
I sniffled and my heart was beating out of my chest when I heard his voice and saw his face. “Kazuichi?!”. I ran up to him and hugged him, he was tense. “I was so worried,” he said. “That makes two of us”. I kissed him, he asked if I was okay and I nodded so frantically. “I didn’t text because I was sad!”. He hugged me tighter, kissing my forehead. I looked into his eyes, falling in love. Then I had realized one thing. “Wait”. He looked at me,“What’s up?”.
“WHY ARE YOU SO LATE?!”
“I HAD AN EYE EXAM!”
He walked to the teacher and handed her a doctor’s note. “You know I can’t mark you present right?,” she said. “You can’t mark me absent either, miss”. Yeah, he wasn’t the best student here. He walked back up to me and kissed me. “There’s like 2 minutes left,” he said,“Can we leave?”.
“Just go”
Being a nuisance paid off as we were all let out early. He grabbed my book bag and ran with me, pulling me by the hand. He took me to the back of the school, yeah, the very back behind the gym. I sat in his lap as he kissed me once more harder, now that no one was watching. I then faced him. “I thought you were leaving,” I whined. He ran his hands through my hair. “I was going to,” he said,“but I couldn’t do that to you, or to myself”. We sat in silence till I said,“Who would’ve thought?”.
“Yeah, in a million years, huh? What year we in?”
“Shut up”
I kissed him and felt him smile against my lips. “Don’t change, Kazuichi”. “Don’t plan on it,” he said,“I love you”. “I love you too”.

Jump Then Fall
(inspired by Jump The Fall by Taylor Swift obviously 😭)
warnings : none afaik >__<
genre : fluff !
word count : 2.4k
pairing : han jisung / oc (f)
ps . very messy bc i just wrote my thoughts ahead without sincerely thinking ++ hello Tumblr!
"Hey y/n!" you gasped in shock while docking over the countertop to prepare for your morning shift at the coffee shop you're currently working on when Jisung, the shop's owner's son, called your name in a deafening way while it's just almost 6 in the morning.
"Oh hey Ji what are you up to?" You tried so hard to hide the bubbly voice petrified that he'll notice that you're happy and jumping inside because he's actually here, in front of you.
Yup, you have unattended feelings for this man hiding inside your very heart although you don't bother talking it to him because you can't afford to lose the friendship you and him had built through the years. At least you're aware that he's not interested in you so you're convinced that this is better, that you're satisfied with him being your superman despite you two just being "besties".
"can't sleep... i think I'll just work with you on your shift then maybe we can sleep at my pad?" he played with his lips in a very cute way while he's clasping his fingers with each other signing that he's nervously not sure if you'll go with him 🤠 as if you two don't treat each other's apartment as their own too...
"oh poor baby, let's go then! my shift ends at 8:30 if that'll be okay with you?" he scooped your shoulder, wrapping both of his hands around your neck while he sniffes your hair as he happily jumps upon your approval.
"of course bub,, i got nervous at the thought that you're already tired of seeing my face.. let's go to work maybe?"
"alriiiight!!! ^____^" this time, you didn't hide the bubbly tune and smiled sweetly at him with his small gestures. He also smiled back at you, giggling and his gummies were showing so you hugged him absentmindedly while saying he's so cute to be him..
That was just a normal day between you two. Most of the time, you even thought the things you two are doing are lovers-like but you just shrug 'em thoughts off because you like it too so who are you to ask for more T^T
"Hey bubbles! Can I take the usual?" you looked up at the customer to know who just stated their order only to find Minho smirking and steadying his hands above the counter to see your face clearly. Minho is your blockmate and also your best friend, but you know the love you have for him will not exceed above platonic, very different when it comes to Jisung. Speaking of him, you both decided that he'll work on the coffees while you take the counter.
"Oh Minmin good day! Sure you can! what brings you here though? as far as i am concerned, you don't wanna walk through cafes just to have your coffee?" You talked to him while not looking back and punching whatever that needs to be punched on the counter.
"I just wanna look at you pretty, is it too much to ask?" You giggled, knowing how un- serious he was because you do know he's not the type to date and step things up with people he considered as family.
"Sure it's not Min, take a look all you want!" You moved your head from side to side while posing different angles to add light to the situation. You both laughed off until you hear a mini smash on the kitchen which makes you hush and run there aggressively, leaving Minho concerned in front of the counter.
"Jisung what the fuck was that?" You saw the kitchen perfectly fine, Jisung being sloppy with his movements, and a pan which looked like it was intentionally banged just to create a huge noise.
"Oh.. nothing, nothing.. sorry to disturb your flirting sesh y/n, you can now go back, it's perfectly fine here..." he didn't even bother to look at you, continued the coffee he was making, though his movements were still sloppy as it was when you entered the room. You got scared because he might be mad about you chitchatting while at work and even misunderstanding what you did with Minho earlier. "Uh.. first of all, i am not flirting,, and uhm second, i hope it's really fine here, yeah? I.. i'm so sorry.." you hated your voice for shaking at the last phrase so it made him look at you, now with worried eyes.
"It really is y/n, sorry..... uhm.. for the noise." Though the coldness, he still smiled at you reassuring you that it's really true this time. You can still see a glimpse of worry when he did a second look after getting his eyes off for the first time.
Him on the other hand felt extremely guilty when he saw your eyebrows meeting each other in a scared way, and your voice shaking made his heart break, as he never really saw and heard you like that while talking to him. He can't believe his jealousy made him do something petty that he knows he'll also regret later on.
You went back to the counter pouting and Minho was still there, distracting the customers behind him while waiting for you to arrive. He let out a deep breath when he saw you.
"Bub, i think your man is fucking jealous. Believe me this time, wanna bet?" he whisphered while you take other orders.
"Confess already y/n, he might— will act cold after this, talkin from experience.. and i too would leave a "so called bestie" that i like if she had found someone to love already.." he added.
"... including me?" you teased, though what he said had affected your senses because you know there isn't someone other than Jisung inside your heart.
"Shut up ma'am, i met you when you're already head over heels over jisung, and p.s, I don't want you, ew?" he teased as he feels the uneasiness after you going out from the kitchen.
"I think.. he's just plainly angry though, i'll talk to him later.. and.... try to confess.. you better be ready because i might crash to your apartment when things just get worse."
"Gotchu y/n! i better download movies so i can fix thy heart by then, just text me okai?"
Jisung overheard Minho's last sentence so he himself brought the coffee to him while glaring at him. "Thank you, Please go now!" He told Minho, almost pushing him outside.
Minho then grinned and winked at you before closing the cafe's door. Jisung didn't even look at you as he straight up returned to the kitchen.
It's 8:30 am and the workers for the next shift have arrived already, so you and Jisung are now on the locker room, folding both of your aprons as well as your caps. At this point, you aren't really sure if your sleepover would still push through considering his attitude towards you earlier.
You were suprised when he hang his hand on the air, waiting for yours to interwine when you had finished cleaning already, you didn't even notice him waiting for you as you are clouded with negative thoughts.
You grabbed his hand and you both walked to his car while nobody is still speaking.
"Ji.. uhm i need to... tell you something later." You finally broke the silent conversation you have been going through while you were arranging your seatbelt.
His eyes dropped and did a blink that shows his regret and a bit of weariness, he thinks he already know what you need to tell him. He then reached to your side as he memorized that you still don't know how to buckle your seatbelt when you're on the front seat.
"Sure thing y/n, be 100% comfy telling me things because i will always root for whatever that'll... make you happy." He smiled at you, wearily, and patted your head; you wondered why he's suddenly being nice and sad at the same time after the commotion earlier. Weird.
You both arrived at his apartment without talking to each other. Immediately going to his large couch, you had the sight of the blankets and pillows that were already there, as if he already planned it all beforehand. You just shrugged it off, thinking he just tried to sleep here earlier, no biggie.
Rain started to pour, the living room lights and the tv were turned off, making the windows beside you the only source of light that brightens the room. It made the place serene with the sound of the thunderstorms acting like the music from the vinyls playing at bright daylight.
You curled your body in a comfy way on the large couch, not bothering to wait for Jisung which is still not in the living room. Maybe you're just gonna talk to him later when you both woke up. You're gonna be rejected anyway.
Senseless thoughts had clouded your mind again, thinking what would you even do in this world if you don't have him anymore. Maybe you'll just drink everyday. Maybe you're gonna find someone in school, on a dating app, on Twitter. Maybe you're just gonna enter the convent. These thoughts made you dizzy and sleepy.
You're half asleep already when you felt his body spooning you from behind, cuddling you while sniffing your hair. Jisung wrapped his hands below your chest, gripping and hugging them tight as if it is the last time he's gonna hold you.
"you still awake?" he asked huskily, you hesitated to answer because he might let go if you did, so you stayed silent.
"you know, i kinda know this moment would come.." he started off, his breathes are getting slower as you feel them on you shoulder.
"i clearly know you'd fall for someone who you'd want to be with the rest of your life.."
"im... honestly not prepared for it.." your heart dropped. You weren't sure if he means something about this or he's just plainly concerned as your best friend.
"i cried in my room if you didn't notice why i was away suddenly... I can't let go of you, pumpkin.."
You seriously don't know what was he talking about but when you felt your shoulders wet, you knew he was serious about it. You and Minho really do give different ideas to people..
"i hope that Minho boy would take care of pumpkin..." pumpkin.... something that helps people see better.. you make him see better ??
"she deserves so much care..."
"and affection.."
"and love..."
"and hugs..."
"and.. kisses.."
He's still sniffing while hugging you, this time tighter than he was doing earlier. The sound of his low sobs have mixed up with the rain drops as they hit the houses' roofs.
"i love you my pumpkin.."
"im sorry i blew up the chance to be the one to take care of you for the rest of your life.."
Tears started to run through your cheeks slowly, he had never addressed you pumpkin before, thinking about how he thinks of you as "his pumpkin" melted your whole existence apart and it just made you wanna cling and cry on his chest all day. You told yourself you're gna let go if he tells you he likes you right at that moment which you knew was never gna happen— that he's just saying this out of care and concern because afterall, you're his best friend.
"my pumpkin.."
"i like you so much if you still don't get it.. i wanna take you with old ji.. i wanna explore the world with you... everytime you shine, I'll shine for you.."
"i wish im just.. dreaming and th.. at when i wake up, my pumpkin would... say she wanna be with me too..." he sleepily says, his grip on your stomach is now loosening, making you able to move.
You moved while whining as if you're misunderstood. Tears started to flow like waterfall, they just don't stop. You faced his chest and tugged your leg on his waist as if he's the plushie you hug to sleep.
"ji.. what the fuck are you saying?" you cried on his chest like a kid begging her mother to take them with her wherever they were going.
Jisung didn't flinch at all, he just hugged you again, this time caressing your hair and rubbing your back as you let go of your tears on his chest... he has stopped sobbing, but you still feel him getting weak and sad through his breathes.. He thought about this as your good bye hug. That this'll be the last time he's gonna be within your embrace.
"baby,, you can tell me whatever that you wanted to tell me earlier now.." the huskiness didn't leave his voice, you're still sobbing and crying on his chest like you don't wanna stop at all.
"i can't... at this state i just.. wanna.. cry all day.. while hugging you.. " you struggled to say 'em words while crying so hard.
"shhhh, hush baby, you'll just hurt me more if you don't stop.. please stop... crying... i might act carelessly and steal you from whoever has got my.. pumpkin's heart..." he said, almost a whisper.
"baby" you started..
"i wanted to confess.."
"i like you jiji.. for a very long time already.."
"i don't intend to hurt you at all by my tears, i just wanna cry it all out.."
"you have called me pumpkin for so many times and you expect me to be fine as i am??" you're still crying btw..
jisung flinched a little this time, thinking if he had heard those words right from you
"bunny, what did you say? i feel like im hearing things right now because of this desperation im feeling, fuck.. i wish i was hearing you right" he said, now hugging you tighter.
You really love how your body melts completely whenever he tightens the hug like he really don't want to let go of you, even for a single split of sec.
"pumpkin loves you too jiji.."
"im trying to confess and... i thought you'll just reject me so i didn't bother waiting for you earlier.."
"pumpkin didn't want anyone else babe,,"
"she just wanted your care.. your affection... your hugs.. your kisses.."
"pumpkin just wanted you.." you had stopped crying but you're now having hiccups while cooing onto jisung's chest.
"you don't have to sleep to hear them baby.."
"i wanna be with you too. everytime you smile, i'll smile too.. you can jump then fall here baby.."
"pumpkin will catch you wholeheartedly.." you finally looked up to jisung, whose eyes are watery again.
"i love you jisung", you whisphered and gave him a peck on the lips.
He was caught off guard, but he immediately got himself together.
When you let go and were on your way to return to his chest, he pulled your head again into a kiss—this time a deeper and longer one.
You both let go, running out of breath. He kissed the top of your head while you have returned to his chest, feeling and hearing each and every beat of his heart. You stayed together that way, you didn't hear anything from Jisung but you feel him so much and you know he's never gonna leave you anymore.
You didn't even notice you have slept for hours already while hugging him. You woke up and you're still at that exact position when you were a crying mess. It was nearly 5 pm and you still don't have the energy to let go from his embrace. You really meant it when you said you wanted to cling onto his chest all day.
You moved upwards a little bit to level your face to Jisung's while he's still sleeping. You caressed his temples down to his chin, admiring his cheeks that you have been wanting to bite since then, and you kissed each and every mole, which you loved the most. They were stars to you, making your eyes gleam in awe every single time you try to look at them. You have hoped you were his lover from your past lives— that you were the one who kissed him the most on those particular parts of his pretty face.
"You're so pretty to be pumpkin's man, jiji" you said and giggled, as if he was gna hear you.
You were caught off guard when he pulled you carefully to his chest, rubbing your back again.
"She loves to be called pumpkin huh?" he cheekily said, despite his voice being still husky.. you didn't know he was awake already. Was he just waiting for you to wake up then?
You tied onto his body for the nth time.
"s-she does.. i guess.. ?? and she.. wants to hug you longer.."
You heard him chuckle and wiggled both of your bodies together as if a kid who's happily playing with his teddy bear.
Your breathes steadied, Jisung had finally processed every word that came out from your mouth, finally jumping to fall into you.
"The moon will be pretty tonight, y/n." he cooed. You find it amusing how he don't flinch at all despite you clinging onto him for almost 9 hours now.
"I love you too, Jisung.."

Begin Again
Summary: When your best friends move away for college, you think life is officially over. However, you find yourself making new friends including the blonde surfer from the other side of the island.
one
—————————————————
two.
The last three weeks of summer went by way too fast and it was finally your last first day of high school. You were currently out on the front steps of your home with a sign that said Senior. It was a tradition your mom went all out for every single school year.
“Looking like a snack before 8 am should be illegal.” Sarah shouted from behind your mom which caused you to roll your eyes.
“Oh, perfect shot. Probably going to use that for the Christmas card.” Your dad clapped sarcastically at your attitude being caught on camera.
“Alright, now all the kids on the steps.” Your mom directed. You and Sarah sat down first. Wheezie sat next to you and Katie, Kelce’s sister, sat on the other side of Sarah. Knowing it was only four of you this year had your heart sinking a little. These steps typically held seven Kildare Prep students. Now it was down to four and next year there would only be two left.
“I’ve got to send this to the boys. I tried to get them to take pictures on their first day of classes, but I was told they were too grown for that.” Kelce’s mom said while huddling next to Rose.
You had been successful in keeping busy these past few weeks in order to keep your mind off your best friend's physical absence in your life. All of you still texted every day in the group chat, but the promised daily FaceTime calls were slowly fading.
While you were busy with cheerleading and hanging out with the pogues, the boys had joined a frat and started classes two weeks ago. On top of that, they started partying several nights during the week and getting blackout on the weekends.
They still had no idea you were hanging out with the pogues. When they asked what you were up to, you would always tell them just hanging out with friends. Surprisingly, they never asked who. Just assuming you would never willingly hang out with the pogues.
You weren’t technically lying to them, but you constantly felt guilty about it. Then Sarah would remind you that they were living their best life at college, so why couldn’t you?
“Okay my sweet little babes, it’s time to head to school.” Your mom finally stops the photo shoot and pulls you from your thoughts. Her and your dad kiss your cheek goodbye, both of them tearing up when you get in your Jeep. They were so dramatic and you freaking loved them for it.
“I’ll see you at school after I drop these two off. Wait for me?” Sarah asked while leaning in your window. You promised to wait for her before leaving the driveway.
Arriving at school early was new for you. Last year you, Sarah and Kelce typically rode together in the mornings when Rafe had football and Topper had lacrosse. Kelce and Sarah were never on time which resulted in you running to first period with minutes to spare.
The song changed in the car, a soft country melody flowing through the speakers. The only person who listens to country is Topper and you roll your eyes at the fact he snuck this onto your playlist. Thinking of him made you realize that they really won’t be walking the halls with you today. It made your throat tighten with emotion at how different this year is going to be. The anxiety that you’ve done such a good job of hiding these past few years comes bubbling up unexpectedly.
Before you can stop yourself, you dial his number hoping it will calm your nerves. It rings a fourth, fifth and sixth time before it goes to voicemail and you hang up before you even hear the greeting. A dark, little voice in the back of your head says that he’s in college now and wouldn’t want to be bothered before 8 am about you're pathetic feelings.
The phone ringing through the speaker startles you and you immediately answer it without looking at the caller id thinking it’s Topper.
“Morning sunshine” JJs sleepy voice rasps through the car speakers.
“Morning punkin” a smile graces your face at the sickly sweet nicknames. It’s become a little joke between the two of you, mostly making fun of John B and Sarah’s overly sappy relationship.
“What’s wrong?” He asks, his voice sounding more alert than just a few seconds ago.
“Nothing, why?” your teeth capture your bottom lip and bite down.
“Somethings up”
“Nothings up-”
“Nu uh, don’t do that. Don’t lie to me. What’s wrong?” He prods hoping you let him in.
“I’m just really nervous about the first day, that’s all.”
“You’re going to have a great day, y/n. And if you don’t there’s nothing ice cream can’t fix.” His words are simple, but it causes you to giggle and your anxiety to melt away.
“How’d you know something was wrong?” You question.
While hanging out with the pogues these last few weeks, you and the blonde surfer had gotten close. When the couples would break off from the group, the two of you would hang out alone.
“I could just sense it and your voice cracked a little when you answered.” You imagine him giving you a shrug as if it wasn’t that big of a deal. But it was.
“Thank you, J.”
“Anytime buttercup. Do you have cheer practice today?” Now he’s the one who sounds nervous.
“I don’t. Why?”
“I don’t have work today either. Do you wanna hang out?” He all but rushes out the last sentence.
“Yeah, i'd like that.” You work out the details and he promises to bring ice cream just in case.
“Hey, you gonna sit out here all day?” Sarah knocks on your window causing you to jump. She gives you a weird look, but doesn’t question it. You climb out of the car and grab your backpack.
“How do I look?” You ask your tall blonde best friend as you head inside, motioning to your makeup and hair.
“I can’t believe you would wear that.” Her eyes scan your body and she grimaces playfully.
“We are wearing the exact same thing.”
“Shit, do you think they will notice?” She looks around at the sea of bodies all wearing a similar version of our private school uniforms.
“You’re so stupid.”
“But you love it.” She sticks her tongue out and you playfully return the gesture, all anxiety from this morning completely gone as you enter first period.
——
When you get home from school, a beautiful floral arrangement of your favorite flowers are sitting on the kitchen counter. A card is folded neatly next to them.
We hope you had a great first day. Wish you were here with us already.
xoxo,
Rafe, Kelce & Topper
Your hand dances over the petals softly as you lean in to smell them. The flowers are beautiful and you snap a picture to send the boys.
Y/n: thank you for the beautiful flowers. kildare prep wasn’t the same without y’all today.
Not even a few seconds after you hit send, your phone is lighting up with a FaceTime call from Rafe.
“There’s my little senior.” His voice is teasing as he comes into view. He looks the same as the last time you physically saw him. Hair gelled back and blue eyes bright as the sky.
“Thank you for the flowers.” You know it was him who specifically ordered them from the cheesy xoxo. It was something he started using after he watched a couple of episodes of Gossip Girl with you.
“I’m glad you like them. How was your first day?” He questions and you give him a quick rundown, laughing when you tell him about Sarah falling asleep in 2nd period with drool coming out of her mouth.
“Did you miss me?” He asks playfully, but there's a twinge of something else there too.
“Of course I did, Rafe.” You tilt your head as you watch him lay back on his bed.
“I miss you so much.” He admits softly and it catches you off guard. Rafe isn’t one to share his feelings or be vulnerable in any way.
“I miss-” you begin to tell him how much you miss him, possibly even admit how your heart aches when you think of all of them, but you're cut off quickly by someone busting through his bedroom door.
“Cameron! Are you ready to get lit?” His new roommate Parker comes into view when Rafe sits up in bed.
“Dude, I’m on the phone.” Rafe gestures to the obvious FaceTime call.
“Oh shit, I’m sorry.” Parker leans down and waves at you. “Hey y/n! How was the first day of kindergarten?” He laughs obnoxiously at his own joke and you wrinkle your nose in return. Parker wasn’t the worst person they could be roommates with, but he was pretty annoying most of the time. He lived for the frat life and everything college stood for. If you weren’t in college, he only referred to you as a child.
“Knock it off.” Rafe gives him a look, but Parker just flips him off.
“It’s okay Rafe, I have to go anyway.” You glance at the clock knowing JJ would be there any minute.
“No, don’t go. I’ll go down the hall.” Rafe says in a panic clearly not ready for your call to be over.
“I really do have to go, maybe we can talk another night this week?”
“Why can’t we talk later tonight before bed?” He questions.
“Because apparently you are about to get lit.” You let an impassive mask slip over your face.
“Oh, right.” He says as if he forgot he already has plans. “I could cancel and we could have a FaceTime movie night?”
“Dude, you aren’t cancelling. The four of us have had this planned since Sunday.” Parker chimes in with a look of mock disgust at his roommate. Thankfully the doorbell rings providing you with the perfect excuse to get off the phone.
“Rafe, I have to go. Text me later.” You blow him a kiss and hang up before he can say anything else.
However, your dad beats you to the door and let’s JJ in while you're still in the kitchen.
“My man. I didn’t know you were coming over today.” You hear your dad's voice followed by JJ saying something you can’t quite hear. They share one of those bro hugs making your eyes roll.
JJ and the rest of the pogues have been over to your house a lot the past three weeks. While your parents loved each of your new friends, they were especially fond of the blue eyed boy that would come over by himself sometimes.
“I promised the princess some ice cream.” He winked at you when he walked into the kitchen.
“Why does that not surprise me?” Your dad smirked with a shake of his head. “Wanna stay for dinner? We’re having steaks.”
“Uh, if that’s okay?” JJs eyes look to you to make sure you are okay with this and you nod.
“Perfect, I’m going to get the grill ready.” Your dad walks out leaving the two of you standing alone in the kitchen. JJs eyes roam over your body and he lets out a low whistle.
“Wow, this uniform is something else.” His words cause you to blush.
“I know you're jealous that you don’t get to wear it every day.”
“Caught me.” He laughs and you join him. Your phone starts ringing and you check to see who it is.
Rafe
You let it ring out only for it to start ringing again with Kelce’s name.
“The powerpuff girls seem eager to talk today.” JJ comments as he takes in the flowers and your phone ringing off the hook.
“Hey, don’t call them that.” You squint your eyes at the nickname.
JJ scoffs “Like they don’t call me worse names when you tell them we’re hanging out. Do you correct them?” He questions as he steps closer to you. You bite your lip and watch as his eyes darken.
“You do correct them, right?” He asks again when you hesitate to answer.
“Well, they would have to know we hang out in order for me to do that.” You admit sheepishly.
“We’ve been hanging out for three weeks. How do they not know?” His eyebrows scrunch together in confusion. You can see his train of thought even though he hasn’t said it out loud.
Surely she’s told them about me.
“When I tell them I’m hanging out with friends they don’t ask who. They just assume it’s not the pogues and I don’t correct them.” You watch as he deflates a little at your words.
“That- Uh, I-” He stumbles over his words, hurt dancing across his eyes.
“I’m going to tell them. I was trying to avoid all the kook versus pogue bullshit they are going to spout off.” and you're not sure why you do it but you let your hand slip into his, offering a gentle squeeze hoping it comforts him.
His eyes look down to your hands, his signature smirk back on his face and all the tension in the air slowly disappears with it.
“If you wanted me to be your little secret all you had to do was ask.” His cockiness is back in full swing and you let go of his hand to shove him playfully.
“So, what type of ice cream did you bring?” You ask effectively changing the subject.
The both of you head up to your room to watch Ozark. He asked if you wanted to watch it the last time he was here. You’d never seen it before so it wasn’t a problem to put it on. A little more gore than what you were used to watching, but it was a pretty good show overall.
Next thing you know, you hear your mom hollering that dinner is ready. Your eyes flutter as they try to adjust to the setting sun shining through your window. A hand lightly caresses your arm and you snuggle a little deeper into the bed.
Your eyes pop open when you realize you're actually cuddled into someone and not the bed. The thought causes you to jerk straight up and look over at the boy laying in your bed. His blue eyes are staring back sleepily and a soft smile graces his face.
“I- I don’t know what happened. I’m sorry.” You rush out feeling that predictable blush rising on your cheeks. He reaches over and grabs your hand. His fingers linking with yours much like earlier.
“I didn’t mind it.” He admits honestly.
“Me either.” Your words are barely a whisper but he hears you. Sitting up, his eyes flick down to look at your lips then back up to you making his intentions clear. You nod, giving full permission for him to lean in. His breath hovers over your lips as he gets closer, causing your eyes to flutter shut.
“Y/n! JJ! Let’s go!” It’s your dad's voice that bellows from downstairs this time and both of you jump apart feeling like you’ve been caught doing something you weren’t supposed to.
He stares at you for a moment longer before getting up “Come on, I don’t want to upset your parents.”
You follow closely behind him heading downstairs, head still spinning over what almost just happened.
Never in a million years did you think you and JJ Maybank would be cuddled up napping together or about to share a kiss. It was a lot for you to grasp. So, you push all thoughts of what just happened out of your mind for later and try to play it cool in front of your parents.
Too bad your mom sees right through it.

Sooo I was re reading hungry part 2 and I saw the part where you wrote about link making Amelia walk around Home Good and Lowe’s while she was heavily pregnant and I was wondering if you could write a fic about that? Hope your staying safe!
rocking chair
thanks so much for the prompt, i had a lot of fun writing this i hope everyone’s doing well and staying safe!
“Hey babe.” Link whispered as he shook his girlfriends shoulder, trying to lull her out of sleep.
“Leave me alone.” She grumbled into the pillow, turning away from him. He chuckled at her grumpiness, shaking her again. “Geez, what do you want?” She snapped.
“We’ve gotta go shopping for the apartment.” They had recently moved into an apartment together, before their son arrived. He was expected to come in 3 weeks and Link wanted to get everything in order while all Amelia wanted to do at this point was curl up into a ball until the baby came.
“Nooooooooo.” She whined turning around to face him.
“We have to. The baby can’t come home to an empty apartment.” Link chuckled at his girlfriends sleepiness.
“We have furniture, and we have baby things, why can’t we just order the other stuff online?”
“First off we’ve waited too long to do this, so stuff won’t get her in time, and secondly you can’t rely on the internet you have to go and see the stuff, and there are DIY projects I want to do. We’ve gotta make this place homey.”
“Hell no Link. I’m not going to walk around the store with you so you can get stuff for projects you’ll never do.”
“Come on babe, it’ll be so much fun. And we can get you a soft pretzel on the way to the store.” Amelia perked up at the mention of a pretzel. After some time Amelia reluctantly agreed to the excursion.
_______________________________________
“Ready babe?” Link asked as he unbuckled his seatbelt.
“Can’t I wait in the car?”
“Come on it’ll be fun.” Amelia rolled her eyes and begrudgingly got out of the car. She held onto her boyfriends arm and leaned against his shoulder, they had just begun and she was already tired.
“What do we need?” She wanted to try and make this excursion as quick as they could, so she wanted to assure she kept him on task.
“I’ve gotta make two key copies, paint for the baby’s room, some tile backsplash for the kitchen, some lightbulbs and a new light fixture for the living room.” The neurosurgeon sighed, she could tell the was going to be a long trip.
“After this can we get a pretzel.”
“I promised didn’t I?” Link chuckled absentmindedly, as he compared paint swatches. “So we decided on light green for the nursery right? Which on do you like better?”
“I don’t care whatever you want.”
“Alright.” Link sighed, staring to realize his girlfriend was going to be of no help. “This one then.”
“No that’s the wrong one.” The neurosurgeon dramatically sighed, picking up the paint swatch she thought would be best in the room.
“I thought you didn’t care?”
“That was when I thought you were gonna make the right choice.” Her boyfriend chuckled wrapping his arm around her.
“Come on this is so much fun isn’t it?” Link asked as they walked through the tile isle, he took out his phone to look at the pictures he took of the kitchen to try and see what would look best in their kitchen.
“No, my feet are swollen, I’m hungry, and I want to take a nap.”
“I promise we’ll get pretzels after this.” He smiled charmingly.
_______________________________________
“Link why do we have to do this?” Amelia complained as she trailed behind her boyfriend in Home Goods. “We have a couch, bed, crib, and changing table at home already this is unnecessary.”
“We’ve got to make it homey, babe.” Link wrapped his arm around her, trying to help her keep up the pace.
“I like our cold cave.”
“See wouldn’t this mirror look cute in the entryway?” Link asked pointing to one on a shelf.
“I don’t care, whatever you want.”
“Come on, lighten up. We’ve gotta make the apartment our home, it’s gotta have a little something.”
“I’ll lighten up once this bowling ball is out of me.” Amelia bit back, starting to lose her patience. Link kept grazing down the aisles, his girlfriend trudging along. “Can’t we sit down?”
“We’re almost done.” He got distracted with another item. The tired neurosurgeon sighed and walked away from him, and towards the front of the store where a bench was. She carefully lowered herself down onto the bench and sighed, she was tempted to fake contractions but she knew Link would take her to the hospital, as she was plotting in excuse an older woman then sat down next to her.
“Your husband drag you here?” The woman asked whilst smiling.
“Yeah.” Amelia chuckled, not bothering to correct the woman that it was her boyfriend.
“My husband drags me here all the time. Any home improvement store for that matter, it’s keen like this our whole marriage. Never made me when I was pregnant though, I would’ve killed him if he did that.” Amelia chuckled, as much as she loved her boyfriend she was at her wits ends with his restlessness. “With the first baby they have all this nervous energy, that they don’t know what to do with, so they do home improvement projects.” Amelia winced at the assumption that this was her first baby. “Our first, she’s 25 now, God that’s crazy to say, but he made this rocking chair himself. I remember we had this big fight, I can’t even remember what about, but I told him to get out. So he went out the front door and I cried and cried thinking he’d actually left, but in actuality he was out back in his shed building that chair. Throughout the years he’s made amazing things for our home but that’s by far my favorite.”
“That’s sweet.” Amelia smiled melting a little bit at the sweet story.
“I lied to you.” The woman said, Amelia crooked her eyebrow; confused. “My husbands dead, I just come here to feel him.”
“I’m so sorry.” Amelia sobered up a bit.
“It’s okay, he died of what the doctors said was something called a brain aneurysm. When the doctors tried to explain it they used all these fancy terms. I think that’s what upset me the most, they could see I was distraught but didn’t even dumb it for me. He was completely healthy, the day before he was at the doctors clean bill of health, how could they of not caught it? For how smart they acted, I couldn’t believe they missed it.”
“Their hard to detect, a lot of the time there are no symptoms, until it’s too late.”
“Oh, are you a doctor? I didn’t mean to offend you.”
“No offense taken, I get it. As interns we’re taught a list of bullet points, and they give you all that crap about being sensitive but that doesn’t resonate with a lot of people, until they’ve lost someone they love.”
“Would you mind explaining to me what a brain aneurysm is?”
“Of course.” Amelia nodded turning to face her a bit better. “There are blood vessels in your brain, and if one of them gets weak, it then kinda acts like a balloon and fills up until it bursts.” The woman simply nodded, indicating she understood, starting to understand better.
“What kind of doctor are you?”
“I’m a neurosurgeon.”
“So you see those all the time?”
“Yeah, I do.”
“Are they ever detected early?”
“It depends. Sadly in most cases it’s too late and the aneurysm bursts, sometimes if it starts leaking you can clip it and fix the issue.”
“Thank you.” The woman nodded, shooting her a sad smile. “May I ask why you became a doctor?”
“Well all my siblings are doctors, so I guess it never really occurred to me to do something else, but I think we’re all doctors because our dad died when we were younger, in some way thinking we could change what happened I guess.”
“It helps when you start to accept the things you can’t change.” Amelia immediately noticed the phrase, it was from the serenity prayer.
“I hope you don’t mind me asking but are you in A.A?”
“I am, I haven’t been in awhile. I know it’s not the best to be in a relationship with another alcoholic but I think we kept each other in check, and were sober for each other.”
“Im in AA too.” Amelia smiled, watching the woman relax a bit. “If you want to we can go together.”
“You know, I’d very much enjoy that. I really should be going, the want to drink has been lurching over me since his death. Thank you.”
“Of course.” Amelia smiled as she took out a pen and piece of paper from her bag to write her number on and handed it to the woman.
“Thank you dear.”
“Sorry about that babe, you ready?” Link asked his girlfriend as he spotted her on the bench.
“Yeah.” Amelia nodded slowly standing up. “I’m sorry I don’t think I caught your name.”
“Louise. And yours?”
“Amelia. It was really nice to meet you.”
“Likewise, I’ll send you a text message later dear.” Amelia nodded and walked out of the store with her boyfriend.
“Who was that?”
“My friend.” Amelia smiled to herself. “I’m sorry for being cranky earlier.”
“No I’m the one that’s sorry. I dragged you to a bunch of different stores and we still haven’t got you that pretzel.” Link chuckled as he placed the bags into the trunk and closed it. “And your 8 months pregnant and exhausted.”
“No it’s okay.” Amelia smiled once he got into the drivers side and buckled his seatbelt. “What were you planning on building for the baby?”
“Well I know your tired so I’m gonna get you that pretzel and drop you off at home, but I’m probably go to ikea and get a rocking chair.” Amelia perked up to this and smiled.
“No don’t go to ikea, you should build it.”
“Well yeah, they give you all the parts there.”
“No you should build it from scratch.”
“What happened to the online shopping Amelia?”
“Come on wouldn’t it be really sweet?”
“I haven’t really built anything like that since high school wood shop, but I guess I can figure it out.” Link smiled, happy Amelia was starting to appreciate the DIY side of him. “You know what I think I will.”
“Thank you.” Amelia smiled, relaxing into the seat. “I have the best boyfriend ever.”
“And I have the best girlfriend ever.”
“That’s correct.” Amelia smirked.

Roman Reigns/Joe A'noai and a female love interest on the weekend of Payback.
SECRET
Part 7
“Aaah fuck! That’s it.” Jade urged as Joe slammed into her again. She was all worked up. They had been fucking ever since they got back from the bar. She didn’t know how Joe had the stamina. He took hold of her hips, pulling her ass up against his lower abdomen, groaning loudly as he came hard. Her body shuddered with his. This had to be it now. She couldn’t take anymore. Breathlessly she fell to the mattress below as he lot her go. He too, lowered to the bed and rolled onto his back. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d fucked like that. “See what you do to me?” his chest heaved up and down as he palmed his forehead. She rolled onto her side and placed her hand on his abdomen. “I haven’t been fucked like that in a long time.”
“It won’t be the last time.” He told her with a smirk. “Is that a promise?” She coaxed. “You bet your ass it is.” She leaned down and kissed him deeply. It was almost 4am when they eventually went to sleep.
Joe awoke the next morning alone in the bed. He rolled onto his back and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He still felt so tired. He needed to get over this change in routine. His phone read 10:45. He set it down on the bed, not bothering to read the notifications.
“Morning sleepy head.” Jade announced, coming into the bedroom with a couple of cups of coffee. She got into her side of the bed and handed Joe his. “Thank you. God, I’m shattered.”
“Well you have no one to blame but yourself.” She shot back, taking a sip. Joe smirked. “What’s the matter baby girl? Was I too much for you last night?”
“Let’s just say, my ex didn’t have your stamina.” Joe smiled, clasping her leg. “I’ll take that as a compliment.” He took a mouthful of coffee. “I’m gonna have to make tracks in a little bit. Got a podcast interview for Payback tomorrow.”
“That’s cool. I’m sure you must have a lot on right now.” Joe looked at her apologetically, stroking her leg. “It’s just been so crazy, especially after the reveal with Paul last night. My phone’s been blowing up. That and this little thing we’ve got going on...” He set his cup aside and leaned in to kiss her, forcing her to set her cup down too. “I wish I didn’t have to leave...” He licked his lips, trailing his hand down her arm, causing her skin to prick up. “You don’t have to.”
“Baby, don’t tease me.” He slithered out of the bed, naked. She couldn’t help but take on his hard on. He didn’t care though. He appeared very comfortable in front of her. “Do you mind if I have a quick shower before I go?”
“Knock yourself out.” She smiled grabbing her cup again. “There are towels in the cupboard.” Joe stepped in under the steamy spray minutes later. He thought about what a perfect evening they’d had. He still couldn’t believe they had fucked. He felt like he needed to pinch himself as it was too good to be true. Jade was still sat in bed drinking her coffee, also thinking about the night before when Joe’s phone vibrated. Some called Brianna was calling. It rang out. She looked away until a text preview appeared on the screen.
"You looked good last night. Call me when you’re free. X"
Jade’s eyebrow furrowed upon seeing this. Her mood changed. She tried to think if she knew anyone called Brianna. In the midst of her thoughts, Joe came out of the ensuite, wrapping a towel around his waist. “I needed that.” He fixed his wet hair up in a bun and approached the bottom of the bed. “What have you got planned for today?”
She passed him a glance. “Just seeing a couple of friends for food later.”
“Cool.” He unwrapped the towel and dried himself off before grabbing his overnight bag and fished out some fresh clothing. Jade watched as he got changed until eventually she got out of bed and went to get changed into something comfortable to take him to the Amway Centre to get his car. Joe thought it was odd that she was suddenly so quiet.
“You OK?” He asked, after getting changed and closing his bag. “I’m fine.” She simply replied, watching as he grabbed his phone from the bed and putting it in his pocket. The thought of this Brianna girl had would her up, whoever she was.
“You ready to go?” she asked, grabbing her purse. “Uh yeah.” Joe pursed his lips, watching as she left the room, following her down the stairs. Something was up but he was hesitant about asking what. He knew she could get pretty pissed off for the simplest things in the past and don’t want anything to ruin the great night they’d just have. He hoped it was nothing too serious and if so, she’d speak up.
“Do you know what time your match is tomorrow?” He asked as she drove, trying to make conversation. “Nope, not yet.” Was all she could reply. He stared out his window wishing he could be anywhere else right now. “Do you wanna do something after the show?”
“I can’t. I’ve got other plans so I won’t be sticking around.” She wouldn’t even look at him. “Look, have I done something to piss you off?”
“Why would you ask that?” She frowned, keeping her eyes on the road. “Well you’ve completely flipped on me? Did I do something wrong?”
She wouldn’t answer. Joe sighed with frustration. “You know, I don’t get you. Why are you being a bitch?” He asked as she pulled up outside the arena. “Will you at least look at me?”
“Just get out Joe.” She seethed refusing to look at him. He took off his belt and leaned in towards her. “I’m not leaving until you tell me what the hell is wrong!” He roared. She had never heard him this angry. “Joe get out! Just get out!” She fired back.
“I knew it was a fucking mistake sleeping with you.” He seethed, grabbing his bag from the back seat and getting out of the car.

----------------------------
You wake up back in your room, on your bed but still in last night's clothes. You don't see your phone anywhere near you so it must be out in the living room somewhere. You get up, stretching then changed in more comfortable pajamas as you head out to the kitchen to grab some breakfast.
"Armie." You grin with a sleepy daze on your face as you greet the older actor, but unlike any other time, he doesn't grin back or even call your name in greeting. Instead, he swallows whatever was in his mouth, pushing the chair in front of him forward with his foot.
"We need to talk."
You'd never heard Armie sound like this so you immediately follow his orders.
He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose, a classic stressed Armie movie. He must have been bothered by something, perhaps something that you did?
"Listen Y/N, I really thought we reached an understanding back at the hike…" he sighs again, "But I'm almost done with filming and will be heading back to LA for a new movie after this so I won't even have time to contact either of you two and I can only hope for the best, but I have to tell you Y/N, as much as I like you. You're being very selfish."
You feel your mouth go slightly agape as Armie's words sink in, "Do you notnunderstand how much you've been hurting Timothee? Choosing your ex over him? Leaving him alone with an old friend of the two of you who Timothee doesn't even know? He got here at 7 PM, Y/N. He sat around doing nothing and waited for you while you were off with your ex."
"Armie, you don't understand, it's not that simple-"
"Bullshit, it's not that simple." He hits the table in frustration, "I told him yesterday to get some rest, to forget about you because there are other girls out there, but he still waited for you. How could you do that to him?"
His eyebrows were furrowed, "How could you hurt this boy who has done nothing but show you that he understands you and is willing to wait for you? How could you just let this guy who's so willing to be hurt if it's for your sake, be hurt by you?"
You feel the tears fall from your eyes as you blink, "Armie, I'm sorry, I'm such a jerk. Thimothee should hate me-"
"Yeah, yeah you are a jerk." His voice falters, "and don't tell me you're sorry. Tell that to Timothee, you owe it to him at the least. Tell him how you feel and what you've decided." He looks at you for a second as you contemplate asking him where Timothee is, "He left earlier to pick up your ex and his friend to take them to the train station. They got an earlier ticket."
You rush to your room, get dressed and bolt out the house, grabbing your phone from the coffee table, as you run out the street to hail a cab.
You sit in the cab agitated as you unlock your phone, bombarded with texts and calls from a mixture of Timothee, Haz, and Tom.
You told Tom last night you'd give him an answer, so this is what you were finally going to do. You grab a fistfull of money from your pocket and shove your hand through the middle of the cab, not caring if you paid too much and you bolt out of your seat and onto the train station.
You spot the pale blonde boy among a sea of people by the baggage dropoff and you grab hold of his shoulders, "Where's Tom!?"
Haz blinks at you in surprise, "Y/N! Thank god. He was gonna wait for you and our departure is in 30 minutes, you need to talk to him. He's by the ticket booth."
You push past people, tears in your eyes growing heavy as you see him. Eyes red and swollen probably from crying too.
"Y/N!" He calls out for you looking relieved, reaching his hand out for you to take.
You clasp on it tightly, "Tom." You wipe the tears in your eyes with the sleeve of your free arm, "I'm here to tell you."
He bites his bottom lip, noticing your lack of bags, "Y/N. Let's fix it, let's fix us." He grabs both your hands and he rests his forehead on yours, "Let's leave all this bullshit behind, let's finally start our family and live like normal people. We can travel the world."
You shut your eyes, relishing in Tom's atmosphere, "Tom, you love your job." You sigh, "And just because having a normal, quiet life is something I've always wanted, doesn't mean that's what you need to want too." You sigh, "Why did you come here?"
The tears spring to his eyes, "Because I don't want to be without you, Y/N. And this was my last chance. I was so willing to leave everything behind because having everything without you would just be nothing." He clutches your hands tight, "Because after this, I don't know if I can ever even talk to you again. Because I decided to choose you over this life that I worked so hard for, because my management team in Marvel is making me do something that means I can't talk to you anymore and you're going to end up hating me for it and I can't live with that and I can't live without you. Because, I-I want to choose you, and I'd choose you over and over and over again. Because I want to be with you…" he trails off, "But that isn't what you want, is it?" His smile is sad but understanding, a true love.
You shake your head gently, "Tom, we were perfect even in the ways we weren't but I have to see where things end up with Timothee. He was there for me. I need to live a life without you in it to live for myself." You hold his cheek in your hand, "And I love you. I always will, but now isn't the time for us. I want you to choose your dreams over me. Right now, we have to live our own lives without each other. I can't have you throwing your dreams away because of me. And I've needed you and leaned on you for so long that it took me this long to realize I have to live without you to learn to be who I am. Timothy's like me. He needs me… and I needed you. But I need to live a life where I don't any more."
He sighs, accepting your decision, slowly bringing his face to yours as your tears mixed with his in a tender kiss. He breaks apart first, leaning his forehead against yours again, "Bye Y/N. I really hope we find our way back to each other one day."
You embrace him tight as the sob reverbitates through your body, "Bye Tom. I love you. I always will." You kiss him on the cheek, letting him go as he boards the train, leaving you on the platform looking vulnerable with your long sleeves covering your hands as you clutched them together, you kiss you fingers lifting that same hand to say goodbye, and the train moves on, farther and farther until you couldn't see it anymore and there weren't anymore people on the platform.
You walk out the station, already recognizing the mop of brown curly hair and you sit next to him quietly.
"I saw you, running out the cab, even when you took out all your money and gave it to the guy and I thought, how the hell does this goober think she's getting home?" He chuckles.
You look at him quietly, "With you." You answer surely.
Timothee's laugh is cut short.
You turn to face him, "Because you're always there for me, and you always will be."
He tries to look at something else aside from your face but you grab his face in both of your hands and make him look at you.
"How could I not?"
You speak quietly, "You should hate me."
He sighs, "But I don't." He rolls his eyes playfully, "And I never could."
You sigh, "But you should. Because I've treated you like crap since Tom got here and I've been so unfair to you. You should scream at the air and then at me because I've done nothing but hurt you, and you should tell me that you want nothing to do with me and tell me you hope that you don't meet anyone like me ever again. You should call me a bad person, because I am and a user because I've always taken advantage of you being nice to me. You should tell Luca how terrible of a person I am and maybe, just maybe he'll write me out of the movie so that you at least don't have to see me for the rest of filming. You should hate me for everything I've done to you." You sob.
His hand reaches out to grab your own, pulling you down so you were sitting next to him, "I don't want to scream at you. I normally wouldn't but given that look you're giving me while you're crying your eyes out, I especially don't want to. Who cares if I've gotten hurt? We're actors, we have to feel things for the sake of our art." He wipes the tears from your cheeks, smiling sadly, "And if I let you go now, then I really don't meet anyone like you ever again and I don't want that. You aren't a bad person, Y/N."
"But I am!" You cry, "You don't deserve what I've been doing to you-"
"I don't care." He shrugs, "Simple as that, I don't care if you hurt me, make me into your punching bag for all I care, all I care about is the calm look in your eyes when we're together, how your laugh sounds like bells, the way your nose crinkles when you laugh at my corny jokes, or even the way you run your hands through your hair when you're stressed. I don't feel alone when I'm with you, Y/N and you always take care of me and you didn't even shy away when I was having that panic attack a few days ago. So how could you ever expect me to hate you when all I want to do is love you and all you've ever done for me is make me feel less alone and loved? How could anyone ever expect me to hate you when I see you like how I see you?"
You two sit there for a while, just staring at each other, "Did you talk to him?"
You nod, "I did. And I told him what I wanted to do with the situation we were in."
His face drops slightly, "Oh."
You nod, "I told him I wanted to be with you."
His face brightens in surprise, "Oh."
You nod along, "Yeah."
"Then, can I-?"
You scoff, "I'd be insulted if you didn't" you laugh as he pulls you in for a kiss.
He breaks apart first, firehead resting against yours, "What happens after Italy?"
You sigh, eyes still closed, "We'll get there when we get there."

Bed Bugs.
Pairing: Sebastian Stan x Actress!Reader
Warnings: NONE! Pure fluff, also implied sex (sorry, I can’t really write mature stuff so I’m just gonna leave it like that) note: the ones in Italic are flashback scenes, so it won’t confuse you as you read.
Word count: 3.1K
Summary: In which the director was given a green light at making a second film on Marvel, the casts were all excited and reader thinks this is where her career will surely grow! But then the huge tease with the name of Sebastian Stan kept getting on her way.
A/N: I know, I kind of ghosted this account for a while BUT I’M BACK?? And omg I miss writing for Seb and our Marvel bois so okay here goes nothing. ALSO, requests are open!! Hit me up with a prompt or something.
Tumblr media
2 weeks before, you had a call with the director from Marvel and that he sound so excited over the phone call, delivering the news to you that a second part of the film is very much confirmed and that the shooting will start very soon. You felt excited as well, thinking you formed quite an easy and great friendship with the other casts and texts and FaceTime isn’t really enough, but you are all grown adults who are busy with other projects so both parties really understand the lack of communication.
Now, you’re getting your hair fixed as Anthony Mackie dances around the room and was quickly joined in by Chris Evans, showing you a bit of his skills in tap dancing. You couldn’t help but to laugh and shake your head, these people are older than you and yet you feel like you were babysitting them at some point.
“How do you have so much energy in the morning, Anthony?” a deep voice was suddenly heard from your back. You couldn’t exactly turn your head to check who it was so you simply stared at the reflection of the man in the mirror in front of you. It was Sebastian, of course, you didn’t really have to check, you knew what his voice sounds like wherever you hear it.
“I don’t know, man. I just feel like today is a great day. Don’t you feel it, Y/N? The sun’s shining bright and all.” Anthony replied and took a sip from his coffee cup.
You rolled your eyes, “I don’t know about you, Anthony, the sun shines brightly everyday.” You shot back and Evans uttered a quiet touche before sitting down.
Sebastian chuckled as well, and you couldn’t help but to check for his reaction on the vanity mirror. Unfortunately, he was also checking on your face on the mirror, which made you lock gazes with him for a short while. Cheeks flushed and palm sweating, you looked away.
The whole cast decided to celebrate the success of the first film by having a drink on the nearby bar, you came with them, of course and had fun despite of not drinking much because you knew to yourself that you can’t handle alcohol well. So you sat on the booth pretty much the whole night and only had two glasses of beer, it didn’t bother you though, the little chats and Anthony’s loud laugh was enough.
The time quickly passed and it was the moment that everyone should go home and take a rest. You bid them goodbye, and didn’t forget to thank them for making the night wonderful and that you had a good time with them, even making promises to keep in touch. You didn’t need a cab home since you live nearby and a short walk wouldn’t really hurt.
When you got in your place, you sighed quietly as you place your keys on the table next from the door and headed straight to the refrigerator because you felt dehydrated. Feeling hot and tensed, you decided to take a quick bath to get rid of the smell of alcohol on your body. After that, you slipped into a pair of pajamas and a loose t-shirt. For some reason, you didn’t feel sleepy, so you walked out of the room and went straight to the living room, hoping to watch some T.V. shows but you heard a loud noise right outside your door.
You dismissed it, thinking it was meant to be for your neighbor and maybe they just accidentally hit your door. But it made a loud thud again, you didn’t know if it was a faint knock or someone fell right on your doorstep. Panic surged in, thinking maybe it was a thief that has been trying to pick on your lock, you quickly grabbed a knife from the kitchen and checked on your door. You opened it for an inch, peeking on the other side of the wood to check if it was actually a burglar.
But to your surprise, it was the same man that was eyeing you all night from the bar.
Sebastian.
He looked… frustrated? Maybe it was the drink he had, or the tiredness, but he definitely looked pissed. He was about to smash his head on the door when he noticed your eyes on the side of the door.
“Jesus Christ, Y/N. I knocked on wrong doors, four times, since I didn’t really know where exactly you live.” He sighed and your mouth fell open, but you quickly recovered and opened the door wider to welcome him in.
“What are you even doing here? How did you even know where my building is-“
“I followed you, then I got lost for some reason, then I started knocking everywhere. I’m telling you, everywhere.“ he confessed, as you lead him to where the couch was and invited him to sit down with you.
“You know that’s kind of creepy, right? You should have called in first or sent a text, whatever.” You told him, checking his face and he definitely looked tired and tipsy.
He laughed to himself, “Yeah, I know right? Weird.” He brushed his right hand on his face.
“Do you want water or something?” you offered and he only nodded. When you came back in the living room, a glass of water in hand, he was already asleep on your couch. Mouth hanging open. You chuckled at his appearance before fixing his position into a much comfortable state. Then you picked out extra blankets and put it on top of him.
It all happened multiple times after the first encounter. Until one day, you ended up being naked, on your own bed, and on your side is a sleeping Sebastian Stan, unbothered with all his glory.
How can a man look so good while being asleep?
You didn’t talk about what happened, yet it did happen again, multiple times over. You were just scared to drop the bomb or to talk about the elephant in the room because you didn’t want him to disappear from your life. You overthink already that maybe sex was all he wanted and not the commitment so you kept your mouth shut.
The set director called out the cast that were supposed to shoot for the day, your hair and make-up is all done but you still asked for an extra minute to compose yourself. Everyone in the dressing room made their exit already, all except Sebastian.
“Hey.” He called out and you turned to him and stared, there was something about his eyes that you couldn’t lay a finger on, it was a kind of look you haven’t seen before.
“Hey to you too.” You replied, as casual as possible.
“You didn’t answer my texts.” He stared down, whether he started looking at the floor or his shoes, you didn’t know but he looked shy and maybe embarrassed?
“Oh,” you quickly thought of an excuse, you did got his texts, you just didn’t want to reply to them because it will be such a hard slap that you fell for him and he didn’t really feel the same way, “Yeah, I kind of changed my number for a while, but the old one is still with me, I just don’t use it anymore.. I uh, I’ll check it out when I get home.” You smiled sweetly to him and finally turned back to where the mirror is, to once again attempt to fix your appearance.
He sighed quietly and left the room. You finally exited the room and proceeded to where the other actors are.
The day ended quickly. A minute ago, you were finalizing the shots with the director and then he announced that it’s a wrap and that you’re all done for today. You wanted to go home and get a lot of sleep however, Anthony and Chris has other plans.
“I really can’t. I’m supposed to clean my place tonight.” You lied when Anthony invited you to come and have a drink with them.
“Come on, who cleans their room at night? That’s weird, you clean on either weekends or morning!” Evans butted in and convinced you even more to come with them, but you feel exhausted, and the fact that Sebastian’s also coming is no help at all.
You just gave them a smile before shaking your head, “Sorry guys, maybe next time? My treat.” You replied to them instead.
“You better!” Anthony said and then you bid your goodbye to them as they walk away.
After a bag of popcorn, cans of soda and about 8 episodes of a Netflix series, you turned the TV off and sighed to yourself.
Cleaning your place, huh? Nothing happened.
You stared at your phone and clicked on the messages that Sebastian sent, all of it were unopened, but now you finally took the time to read all of it.
Hey
Hello
Y/N?
Is everything okay?
I don’t know what happened but you stopped talking
Hey
“Idiot.” You can’t help but to whisper on your phone, as you were about to make a reply, you heard a knock on your door. Hesitating, your first thought is again, thinking it was a burglar but you knew better, only one person has the audacity to knock on your door at this hour.
You opened the door and it revealed a flustered Sebastian, with his hair disheveled and his arm is leaning on the door frame.
“You know what, I’m kind of hoping for a burglar.” You blurted out, like a whisper to yourself.
“What?”
“What?” you copied him. He looks drunk, so there was no point to say something meaningful and stuff because he will definitely forget about all of this tomorrow.
“Alright,” he brushed his hair back and swallowed, “okay before you say something, or kick me out—wait, I’m still outside, can I come in?” he looked genuinely surprised when he figured out that he’s still outside of your place, you tried not to laugh at his reaction.
“Yeah, of course.” You took a step aside and allowed him to enter, he sat on the couch and noticed the bag of chips, sodas and tissue on the center table.
He looked at you with a puzzled look, “This is how you clean? I mean, okay, cool, no judgments.” He pursed his lips and nodded at the surroundings, “You did a good job, this room is spotless.”
“Alright, what do you want now? If you want a place to crash just lay there and sleep, I’ll bring a blanket.” You offered, arms crossed on your chess. It felt like you were lecturing him on something.
“Wait, no.” he sighed again, as if he’s mentally preparing himself on something, it made you think as well, and you wanted to know what was running in his mind. “Before you say something, just.. hear me out. Give me a couple of minutes to explain and just let this out, 5 minutes would be fine.” He blurted out and tried to fix his composure while sitting down.
The look of seriousness that washed and took over his face made you sit down on the chair beside the couch as well. You weren’t prepared for this, in fact, you never really thought that this moment will come along. So many thoughts are taking over your mind: will it be over now? Is he finally telling you to cut ties? Is he seeing anyone?
He opened his mouth and your breath hitched, “I.. know I made a mistake for not clearing out the things that happened after, you know, THAT moment.” He emphasized, “I don’t know what came over me and what I was thinking, I literally feel like a fucking idiot for not explaining this to you earlier.” He exhaled shakily, “But fuck it, I’m doing it now. You see, a lot happened recently, you know, with the success of the movie, with the other projects we’re taking on, all that.”
You were about to speak but then he held his hand up to stop you, and then you closed your lips, “I really like you, Y/N. For real, I don’t know why it took a while for me to fucking say it. I always come here, to you, to tell you how my days went, because I enjoy being with you, so much. I enjoy your company, your sarcasm, your witty remarks and all that. I would really like to experience it again and longer this time, instead of just the sex.”
By this point, your mouth suddenly felt dry and every swallow felt like sand paper on your throat. Your eyes started to well up and then you ended up chuckling at his confession, “Wow.. you really are a fucking idiot.” You replied to him before making your way closer to him and landed on his lap, straddling him. “You don’t know how much you cleared my mind.”
“Wait, what?”
“I like you too, dumbass. So much.” No words are left to be said because before he could even ask further or to clarify what you said, your lips already crashed on his. The kiss was passionate, calm and slow unlike the ones you shared before, the hungry, rough and needy—not that you’re complaining, you’re fine with either way.
After doing the deed, you snuggled on his side and breathed his scent. Despite of the reek of the alcohol, his distinct smell was still there and you admit to yourself how much you missed this. How much you missed him.
“Hey.”
Your moment of peace was momentarily disrupted by him, “Hmm?” you answered him, feeling a wave of exhaust on your body.
“The things that I’ve said are all true, it’s not the alcohol. In case you’re wondering about it. I will remember this when I wake up.” He uttered.
You couldn’t see his face but you feel like his eyes are closed as his hands slowly caressed your hair and planted a soft kiss on your head.
“I know.”
You were supposed to attend on the set with Sebastian, but he needed to drop by on his place to shower because as much as he wanted to come with you, he doesn’t have clothes on your apartment. But he did promise you a lunch date later that day so you had something to look forward to during the day.
You were straightening your top when Anthony, of course with Chris, approached you. “Wow, Y/N. You look like you’re in a good mood today! It’s just, it’s radiating off of you, I wonder why.” You blushed at Anthony’s remark and wondered if he knows something. Maybe Sebastian told him something last night, when they were out for a drink.
“I’m always in a good mood, Anthony. What are you saying?” you replied to him and he only ended up giggling. Evans pointed out that you look pretty much the same to him, but Anthony still thinks there is something different about you.
“Seabass may or may have not spilled some news last night.” Anthony whispered to you and you ended up blushing even harder, “I almost knocked him out right there but instead, I urge him to come at your flat.” He winked and you smiled at him, without Anthony, you’re probably walking around glass flooring and eggshells right now, being careful around Sebastian.
“Speak of the devil.” Mackie announced, seeing Sebastian walking over and heading towards your way.
“You know what, Evans?” Anthony started again, facing Chris this time, “There must be some kind of rash going around people, do you think it’s perhaps, a communicable disease?” he said, Evans looked dumbfounded and genuinely clueless with what Anthony is saying.
“Rash? What rash?” Chris asked, you and Sebastian looked at Anthony, listening to what he is about to say because the rash topic came out of the blue. Sebastian stood quietly beside you and you feel his fingers brushing on your arm.
“See that bruise-looking rash on Sebastian’s neck?” Anthony tried to be as quiet as possible, even leaning towards Evans’ right ear but his words are heard from a distance. “It’s so weird because I have seen the same bruise on Y/N’s neck! But the ones on Y/N are much darker than Sebastian’s. Are you guys alright? Maybe, sick or something?” Anthony’s sarcastic remark and endless teasing has led you and Sebastian to cover your necks, at the same time, bearing the same crimson red cheeks as you try to laugh to hide the embarrassment.
“Mackie, one day I’ll kill you and no one will know.” Sebastian replied to him but Anthony ended up laughing louder, even holding his belly. Evans’ eyes are still squinted, trying to see the bruises on your neck and on Sebastian, when he finally landed on a conclusion.
His mouth made a perfect round shape, shocked at his own realization, “Oh, my god. You guys are…?” his trailed went off, but Sebastian ended up nodding on him.
“I fucking knew it. I knew there was something else behind those lingering gazes you both give to each other.. like, alright, the tension is there but damn.” Chris ended up shaking his head on the two of you.
Sebastian didn’t mind the teasing and Anthony’s additional comments as he planted a kiss on your forehead, tucking you in his arms.
“To answer the question, Anthony, no, we’re not sick. Just a bad case of bed bugs.” Sebastian told Anthony, even glancing on where you are standing, “A very cute bed bug though. The bites are painful but I kind of like it. Who knows? I might get another BAD case of bites tomorrow.” He teases you as well and you covered your face with your hand to hide the embarrassment and blush on your face.
“Thank God for make-up right? You can cover that up.” You told him as you walk towards where the set is.
Sebastian gave you a look and snickered at your comment, “Excuse me? Who told you that I plan to cover it up?”
