"What exactly are halfas?" Constantine asks, cigarette lit and leaning against the table.
They were in the justice league, having attended a meeting previously and now just lazed around.
Batman loses focus on his laptop screen and openly looks at the two, interested.
Green Lantern, Hal, jerks up at the question, looking between everyone still in the room and trying (and failing) to seem uninterested.
Zatara is glaring daggers at Constantine's back, eyes narrowed.
While flash had no context, having just arrived back with his food to sit with the rest, he appropriately tenses as well, from just one glance around the room.
Superman and Wonder woman aren't different from batman, not as discreet as some are trying to be and just staring at the two.
Slightly amused, Danny decided to entertain the question.
"Unlike ghosts and the undead, halfas are created and not born." He explains, looking at the man when he writes it down.
Who knew the infinity realm were this closed off that John Constantine had to get information from the source itself just to keep updated?
"Care to elaborate?"
Clicking his tongue, he does so.
"Halfas get created during extreme circumstances, it has to be right place, right time and correct amount of ectoplasm." Danny catches the lollipop that Batman throws at him, sending the bat a quick smile.
"Not everyone can become a halfa, our race is a rarity amongst the dead."Constantine raises a brow, pursing his lips. "There are only 3 of you right? Is that a normal amount in the realms?"
Another click. "No, thousands of years ago, when our kind reached its peak of over hundreds of people, Pariah Dark happened."
He briefly shares a glance with Martian Manhunter, he wonders if anyone here sent out a message of phantom story time? Why were they all lounging around?
"It was genocide. He killed off an entire species just because he felt threatened." He shrugs.
Constantine jolts, eyes clear as if he'd just connected the dots.
"So his downfall wasn't only because of rights of conquest but— the reason no one joined nor fought between you and the old King was because it was a revenge kill."
Danny ponders the words over, nodding. Yeah that sounds right.
"Many aren't surprised that Pariah Dark went berserk. It was kind of predictable, considering his soul was brought to the Infinity Realms after he'd died in the Phantom Zone as you know it."
Hal straightens up, Batman tenses and Diana leans forward.
"This previous King of yours– he was a past prisoner of Aethyr's Mind?"
The halfa nods, uncertain now that he'd stumbled upon unknown territory.
"Yes, the Phantom Zone and the Infinity Realms are sister spaces. Were you not aware?"
They were not, he quickly finds out.
Fumbling with his words, mind working overdrive as he sorts through information, he speaks again. "They are the two sides of the same coin, Phantom Zone being non-habitable while the Ghost Zone is filled with unalive."
He briefly struggles with his words, genuinely taken off guard with the lack of knowledge.
"Aethyr isn't just a being, but someone who is connected to the realm itself. Its similar to my position as King of the ghost zone." He summons his crown of ice to simple gesture.
"Besides! Phantom Zone, Zero Zone? Anti-infinite? That's literally the opposite of the Ghost Zone, the Infinite Realms!" he exclaims, throwing his hands up.
"Could you tell us more of your realm?" Superman asks, voice gentle and non threatening. "Some of us have been in the Phantom Zone, so hearing that there is a place being the complete opposite?"
The halfa nods in understanding. "Sure, why not?"
Three simple words yet everyone feels the trust put on them with such information.
"The entire realm is an ever shifting space, we categorise eith the sectors of each afterlife. From the Greeks to the Yetis and different eras."
(The tale of his realm lasts longer than expected, it is only when Hal started to get ready to leave does Danny address a certain area in his zone.
"The... Emerald Space is also a sector of the Infinity realm. The sector itself is formed in a sphere like form, we aren't sure what's inside since the fallen lanterns keep to themselves rather."
Hal froze, eyes catching the ghosts, and looked away again. He'd tell OA of this, but now he was going home.
Danny watched him leave and declared it down for now, free for more question the next time and left just as fast.
At least Constantine and Zatara can update their books now.)

Okay people! DP X DC idea time!
This hit me like a trainwreck and I must release it into the wild. Will I write this properly one day?
Anyway!
Let's think about sensory deprivation tanks. Danny phantom. What if the thermos acted like one? It was only meant for short term storage. What if the Fenton's built a coffin like one meant for long term?
And they caught Danny first?
—---
The Fenton's newest invention "ghost in a box" had caught him. It was a dumber bigger heavier version of the thermos and somehow they managed to catch him right as he was falling to earth after a nasty hit to the jaw from the latest ghost of the week.
He propped himself up on his elbows and hissed through his teeth. Better to get out of this box quickly. His parents probably couldn't handle this guy. Using the bright glow of his eyes, he examined the inside of his new holding cell. It was fairly big. Big enough for him to roll about and prop himself up on his elbows. There was 10 inches or so of watery ectoplasm sloshing around him as he moved and shifted. Surprisingly comfy too. At least compared to the cramped space of the thermos.
Without the glow of his eyes it was dark. Completely dark. The kind of dark that makes you wonder if you really had that hand on front of your face. And it was quiet. The only sounds were the faint sloshing of the ectoplasm and his own breathing.
He saw the faint line of the lid and tried with all his might to push it open. His ghostly strength didn't seem to do much. He was panting by the time he decided to try to phase through it instead. He ended up with a sore head for his efforts. Airtight, watertight and ghost proof.
There was no way out.
He tried his phone which had luckily enough survived the fight.
No service.
Danny sighed heavily and lay back in the water, staring at his phone with a tired frown. So much for luck. Hopefully, Tucker, Sam, or Jazz would break him out before school tomorrow.
The silence was so strange. He'd never been somewhere this quiet before. Even the ghost zone at its most peaceful had the sounds of flowing ectoplasmic winds. He felt his eyelids fall shut as he slipped into a doze. He was frankly exhausted from everything that had happened that day and needed a nap. So he took one as he waited for someone to open the box.
But Nobody did. Nobody could. Apart from his friends and sister, nobody cared to.
You see, immediately upon his capture, the elder Fentons rushed the box back to the lab for testing. After several hours they had declared the invention a success. As long as no one opened the box, the ghost couldn't escape.
Meanwhile Tucker, Sam, and Jazz were consumed with worry. They hadn't seen Danny get captured, but after Jack and Maddie proclaimed Phantom was caught the next day on the news, they feared the worst.
Jazz confronted her parents about Phantom in the box, but she was kindly and lovingly dismissed. You see, they had given it some thought and finally agreed with their daughter that ghosts too dangerous to be studied should just be caught and dealt with humanely. A compromise. Sure they couldn't do all the tests they wanted, but they would rather have their town and family safe.
The "Ghost in a box" was equipped with noise canceling movement dampening ecto-sustaining technology. In essence a sensory deprivation tank. The ghost would be kept safe until they were docile enough to be released for study or simply turned back into base ectoplasm to be recycled for something else.
But they didn't know about cores.
And they didn't know about Danny.
Cores would not dissipate like regular formless ectoplasm. They would remain even as the physical form of the ghost melted away as their consciousness faded into everything and nothing within the box.
But Danny wouldn't. Jazz knew that Danny couldn't.
A core wasn't made to house a human. A ghost, who was the personification of a person's emotions the moment they died, a being made of obsession, could be condensed and made dormant inside the fragile safety of a core. But a human flesh and bone body? A heartbeat? He would always be there. Able to be sucked in a thermos, yes. Ghost in a box, yes. His ghostly abilities made him pliable enough. But into his core? Never going to happen.
His heart and core were very different, but worked together in harmony. Neither could exist without the other. Neither could be taken out without issue. (The ghost catcher notwithstanding. Freaky duplication personality splitting weirdness) Should his heart vanish into the core, it would die. Hearts do not take compression and dormancy well. Should his heart be removed, the core would have no filter and overtake the body, burning it into pure ectoplasmic fire.
Danny was the perfect balance. His heart strengthened his core and his core energized his heart. He could not be easily shattered or dissipated. But this meant he also could not retreat into his core when his mind or body failed him.
He had to remain fully formed. Fully in ghost form. The ectoplasm that was being cycled through the box made sure he was stable, but he would suffocate and starve if he became human.
He was well and truly stuck.
Jazz begged and pleaded with them to let him go. The psychological damage would be so severe if he stayed in longer than a few hours. But their success had blinded them to the point of pride. Instead they praised her for her empathy and willingness to study the obsessions ghosts were known for.
They only really started listening to her after Danny had been missing for an entire week. And even then it was just a call to the police and a search to hunt "they ghost who took our baby boy".
(Did Jazz ever break down and tell her parents the truth? Who knows.)
Perhaps the worst part was that his loved ones couldn't even get to the box. It had been locked up in some government facility almost immediately after the Fenton's announced their success. The patent was sold to the government for a truly amazing amount of money.
Danny was out of reach.
It was only after months of petitioning and rallying and absolutely threatening Vlad with ruining his political reputation, Sam was able to gain access to the box to "see for herself if they were truly as humane as the Fenton's claimed". She had 20 minutes with the box and she and Tucker did everything they could to open it.
Nothing worked. No hacking or code they tried could open it. They had no power tools or weapons to try attacking it with. For 20 minutes they tried.
For 20 minutes they failed.
There was nothing they could do. They were escorted from the premises kicking and screaming.
Meanwhile the product went viral. Some opposed it, some praised it. The Fentons became famous for the "ghost in a box". Soon they were available widespread. Ghosts were being caught left and right and safely contained. most of whom were peacefully living out their afterlives in their chosen haunt.
Many ghosts were caught actively seeking Phantom. Skulker, Ember, some invisible ghost kid, a great hairy looking wolf man, and more. Ghosts were being caught all over the country. None of them could escape once they were put in the box. And none of the other ghosts knew what was truly happening to their kind. They only knew that if you went into the human realm, you didn't come back.
Surprisingly enough, Vlad was eventually the one to put a stop to it. By forcibly closing the portals. The Fentons were too busy with their manic search for their son to rebuild their own portal. (And even if they tried after jazz told them the truth, would it have even worked?) His own portal was hardly ever used anymore. Mostly because alongside the "ghost in a box", the Fenton finder and ectoplasmic tracker were also extremely popular tools for ghost catching. It was too risky to activate his personal portal. If he was caught, he was as good as dead.
But he too was eventually caught.
Somebody had finally looked into his shady dealings. Suspicious of him, and not wanting to rule out anything ghostly, they opened a box on him during a packers game.
He never saw it coming.
Eventually almost every ghost people across the world knew of were caught. The U.S. government paid for the boxes and had them categorized and stored deep underground in a ghost proof facility that slowly faded from history.
But what about Danny?
Let's ask a different question. Do you know what happens when a human stays too long without sensory input?
The hallucinations started when his phone battery gave out.
—————
The justice league had been an entity for quite some time now. Long enough that they felt secure in digging down into the underbelly of various world governments to root out world ending threats at the source. Especially after what had been going on with CADMUS and their government sanctioned cloning operation.
Someone (the flash? Batman? TBD) finds old records of a bunker buried deep under the earth full of something called "ectoplasmic" radiation. For the safety of the nearby town of Amity Park, they felt the need to dig it up and clean it out.
Upon entering the bunker in full OSHA approved hazmat, they find strange looking boxes. Boxes upon boxes stretching for at least a mile, maybe more if there are sublevels. Each box is labeled with a number. The first one they find is marked 3278 (or some other arbitrary number). All the boxes are sealed tight with no known way to open/dispose of them.
Most of the heroes agree just to let the bunker be. It was sealed and doing no visible harm to anyone or the environment.
But Batman (or other super? Dealer's choice) decides to do a bit more looking.
He stalks through the boxes, noting the numbers, the lights saying 'occupied' and 'dissolved'. Many of the boxes are buried deep. He can really only observe the ones close to the walkways.
He walks all the way to the very bottom. The very end of the bunker. Where there is a solitary box set on a raised platform. It is labeled number 1. The lights flash 'occupied'.
'Corporeal'.
He takes it back to the watchtower for analysis.
——————
The justice league cannot safely open the box. Any attempt to break it open could compromise whatever is inside. Scans do not indicate what could be inside.
More research is done into these boxes. Nothing digital is found. Eventually someone looked through some old offices stationed outside the bunker and finds patents for the boxes. Dr.s Fenton describe in detail what the box does and how to use it. It was meant to never be opened by anyone without the proper DNA match.
Apparently Jack Fenton, understanding that ghosts can possess people (read overshadow) coded the box to reject anything that had human DNA in it. He had to manually override the security to open the boxes. Which included several (read 100) security questions and passwords pertaining to Jack directly.
So only someone completely non human and non ectoplasmic could open the box.
Good thing they had aliens on payroll.
—————
Superman pressed his thumb to the scanner. There was a light beep and a sudden rush of pressurized air. A cheery voice rattled out of a small speaker embedded in the box's control panel.
"Wow! I don't know how you found an alien, but well done! Please enjoy your docile ghost or ectoplasmic goo! Thank you for using the Fenton GHOST IN A BOX! Patent pending please don't sue."
Superman, startled by the sudden voice, took a step back. The lid of the box opened slowly the inside dark. Toxic looking green mist sluggishly broiled out of the box. It spread almost like fog across the floor.
A black hand with abnormally long and skeletal fingers stretched slowly rose out of the mist, rising to grip the side of the box.
All the superheroes were immediately on edge. Hands flying to weapons and dropping into fighting stances. Superman himself jumped back to guard against whatever was coming out of the box.
What emerged was frankly horrifying to look at. A black mass of bulbous limbs and... Tentacles? Were those tentacles? Claws and teeth scrabbled at the edges of the box until the entire bulk of the thing fell from the edge, squelching with whatever liquid had been inside. It hit the floor of the watchtower with a wet sounding thud.
There was an immediate reaction among the heroes.
"Oh gross!"
"That... What IS that?!"
"Eugh..."
"It's not human, that's for sure!"
"Someone find a member of JLD!!"
"Get Constantine up here!"
Amidst the noise the thing on the floor writhed about. All over it's amorphous body, eyes opened. Countless eyes appearing all over it's form. They were the same toxic green color as the mist, but brighter.
The eyes rolled about and winced. The thing shuddered as if in pain and the eyes squeezed shut back into the void. Instead, teeth appeared, countless mouths inside mouths and razor sharp teeth upon teeth. It scrabbled on the floor and opened it's countless mouths.
And screamed.
Heroes threw their hands over their ears in an attempt to stop the sound. Those with enhanced hearing took it the worst. Superman himself was forced to kneel, hands pressing to the sides of his head desperately. It sounded like the screams of the damned. Of someone dying. Of thousands suffering. He couldn't move, couldn't react. It was going to drive him mad if it didn't stop.
It came almost in waves, battering against the triple reinforced windows protecting the inhabitants from space. Lights above their heads popped and broke as sound crashed about the room. Coffee mugs shattered, fuses blew, and the watchtower was plunged into darkness.
With the darkness came a panic. The screaming was unending, debilitating. Some curled into fetal positions, uncaring of their peers. Others tried to run, but with the power gone, doors wouldn't open.
Not many paid attention to the thing on the floor.
It is important to note that in attendance that day alongside batman were a few of his brood. Namely Red Robin and Black Bat. It is also important to note that Black Bat is a hero who is hearing impaired.
So of the heroes in the watchtower that day, Black Bat was the only one to focus on the amorphous thing despite the noise.
She watched the Eldritch horror even as the watchtower fell to darkness. It had too many mouths. Too many eyes. It's form was barely recognizable in the darkness, but as she watched she could see the makings of something humanoid.
It had a discernable head.
She watched it try to open its eyes various times only to see it shriek louder and shut them swiftly. It was in pain? Even though the lights had gone out? She looked at batman and the other heroes. They were screaming and yelling and trying to figure out a course of action.
She looked back at the thing. The sound beat at her ears in waves. Growing ever louder as those around her screamed in pain.
In that moment, Cass had an epiphany.
She lunged across the room, reaching Red Robin almost instantly. She allowed the sound to reach her ears as her hands left them to dig around in Tim's utility belt. She knew he had them, she'd seen him wear them often enough.
Ahah! She triumphantly pulled the headphones from a side pouch. Dick and Jason teased Tim about the headphones when he first got them for working on casefiles. They were the big chunky kind. Designed to fit over the entire ear.
Designed to be noise cancelling
She turned and sprinted towards the thing on the floor with her prize. The closer she got the worse the sound was. It beat on her brain painfully, she could feel a nosebleed trickle down her lip. Still she darted forward. She leapt ito the air, flipping upsidedown as she did. She aimed to the beings... Head? What could've been it's head... And deftly slipped the headphones onto it.
There was a flailing of... Limbs?... In her direction as she sailed through the air. She landed a bit ungracefully as the sound crashed over her again. She covered her ears with her hands and retreated, turning to face the entity as she backed away.
There were hands... Or hand like things... Clutching the headphones. Slowly the screaming dwindled. Soon it was quiet save for the cursing and crying and relief voiced by the heroes.
"Oh thank god!"
"It's over!"
"Ugh my head..."
"Is everyone okay?"
"I understand why they had that thing locked away now."
"Black Bat." Cass turned to see Batman holding his head in one hand. "What did you do?"
Cass mimed putting the headphones on. "Overstimulation." She said simply.
"What do you mean?" Batman looked to the entity. His eyes narrowed at the way it clung to the headphones. His gaze swiveled to the inky darkness of the box. An idea swirled in his brain and he nodded. "Extreme sensory deprivation."
Cass nodded, pleased.
"Batman! What happened? Are you alright?" Superman approached the pair. His voice was raised slightly. Blood dripped from his ears.
"I'm fine Superman." Batman faced him fully, moving his mouth in exaggerated syllables. "But you're not."
Superman smiled sheepishly. "I see you noticed. I can't hear anything right now." He turned towards the entity. "What do we do now? It's clearly too dangerous to simply let free." He turned back to Batman. "With the watchtower out of power the best option we have is to put it back into the box."
"Hnn..." Batman frowned. "I don't think that would work well. Based on how it reacted to light and sound, we can assume that the box was some sort of sensory deprivation tank."
"Sensory deprivation tank?"
"It's a box that cuts off all stimuli from the outside." Red Robin pulled himself off the floor with a groan. "It's a form of extreme isolation. Do you think that's why it was screaming?"
"What?"
Batman ignored Superman. "I believe so. Black Bat was the first to notice."
Red Robin squinted. "Are those my headphones?"
Cass grinned at him. "Useful."
He huffed and passed her a handkerchief from his belt. "You owe me new ones." She giggled silently and took the handkerchief, wiping away the nosebleed.
Batman grunted, gaze shifting back to the writhing mass of black in the darkness. "We'll have to quarantine this room. I don't believe trying to handle the entity would be wise."
"No kidding." Superman winced, putting a hand to his head. "But we won't be able to do much until Cyborg restores power. He was in the control room when the screaming started, right?"
Not a moment after Superman had finished speaking the backup lights came on.
And the shrieking started anew.
Heroes were once again forced to their knees as the sound hit them. Cass wasted no time and ran towards the entity. It was no longer a roiling bulbous mass, but rather had a partial humanoid form. A clear and present head and shoulders, thin long arms with hands clasped around the headphones.
She didn't know where it's eyes were supposed to be, but she didn't bother taking the time to figure it out. She ripped her cape from her shoulders and flung it over top of the entity. There was an immediate flailing of limbs and tentacles as it tried to get the offending object off.
Cass worked quickly. Pulling a blindfold from her belt, she wrapped it swiftly around the "head" of the thing in front of her. The knot was tied equally as fast, but before she could pull away, her hands were caught.
Long, impossibly long fingers held her hands in a vice grip. They were icy. So cold that it felt like her skin was burning.
But the screaming stopped.
"Black Bat!"
Cass ignored Red Robin's cry and Batman's frantic run towards her.
The entity had stilled.
It's limbs shrunk instantly, leaving almost normally proportioned arms and legs. The tentacles shrank away to nothing. The claws and fangs receding with them. The grip on her hands turned gentle, the fingers shrinking to a normal, proportional size.
Cass's eyes darted to Batman, stopping him just before he reached her. She shook her head minutely. This thing was not hostile.
It was scared.
Cass turned her gaze back to the thing and watched, tense as the fingers slowly ran up and down her hand. It felt her wrist, palm and fingers.
Slowly, the blackness faded into color. Blinding white hair fluttered with an unseen breeze. Skin tan underneath the headphones and blindfold. A tattered jumpsuit in black and white stained green.
A nose peeked out from under the blindfold. A pair of lips, thin and chapped. Freckles dotted what she could see of the cheeks.
It looked young. A young humanoid. It probably wasn't human at all but, the similarities were there. It looked like a boy. Younger than Tim, but older than Damien.
He looked thin. She traced the line of his ribs with her eyes. She would see where his hip bones jutted out. He was emaciated. Or very nearly. He looked as of he'd been starving.
She head Batman shift as he knelt beside her. She knew he'd seen it too. This boy had been tortured in extreme isolation. What had happened to him?
He didn't speak. She didn't really expect him to. He searched her hands for a moment more, before his hands stilled. Then, slowly, carefully, his fingers intertwined with hers. He gave a gentle squeeze.
She squeezed back.
The blindfold covering his eyes grew wet. The wetness seeped down the blindfold and dripped to the floor.
The boy was crying.
"You're real." Came a raspy whisper.
There was a flash of bright white light and suddenly a very starved human boy was collapsing into Cass's arms.
—————
(Cass looked up at Bruce with wide eyes, cradling the boy to herself. He now had pale skin, tattered blue jeans and a worn T-shirt. His tousled black hair was grimy with filth. Dark circles shadowed long dark eyelashes and hollowed cheeks.
Cass was suddenly sure. Whatever he was, he was hers now.
"New baby brother."
Batman sighed heavily.)
————-—
Aaaaaand I have more? Maybe? Like the idea that he has gone crazy and lost his senses for a time really appealed to me. Cue rehabilitation and him trying to free the other ghosts/Vlad and get them back to the ghost zone. Maybe try to go back in time to stop it all from happening? Idk.
I felt the need to post this before I dedicated too much time to it and wrote a multi chapter fic but never actually post it anywhere. 🫠
Tell me what you thiiiiink.

dp x dc prompt:
au where nobody in amity ever found out danny was phantom (not even wes).
danny had to handle everything by himself and came out of it very traumatised. because of his lack of support he made more mistakes than in canon, which resulted in a lot of guilt and self-loathing.
he is sixteen when the justice league dismantles the giw and arrests his parents - whom he stopped making excuses for long ago - for their unethical practices. the portal is shut down and vlad detained shortly after he attempted to free maddie.
danny doesn't have anyone to fight against anymore: his rogues are in the ghost zone and unlikely to come out of it now that portals aren't readily available. they're closer to friends than enemies now anyway, and he learnt to make his own portals so he can visit.
life is good. jazz has custody of him until his majority and they're in a witness protection program specialised in helping children of villains. they were relocated to another city. danny has the time to study again and no one knows him and his sister as the kids of mad scientists, which makes it easier to fit in in his new school.
but he's feeling restless and he keeps getting nightmares, haunted by everything that went wrong in amity before the justice league even noticed. it feels like the guilt is going to eat him alive and his chronic pain from his accident keeps making it worse for his mental health.
he decides to go fly as phantom for the first time in months, both to fulfill his space obsession and look at the stars, and to decompress.
he's not expecting to collide into anyone.

The Ghost and the Amazon:
Danny ends up in the world of gods and monsters and is having more fun than he should. But to his defense, he only knows these beings from books and the ghost zone. And, having been fascinated by this world for around ten years, he adored it! He was struck in his prime of 21 years, so he had in truth no idea how many years he really was here, but you could say after 5 he no longer cared much about it. (His father His height, as he had his growth spurt, was pretty muscular too, but not super massive. (Think of Thor, Steve Rogers, or Goku, yeah, Goku Piccolo Saga.)
After an attack by Circe, Wonder Woman too ended up in this new realm, seeing monsters wreaking havoc on the mortal realm. Being a hero, she will help them, and so she joined this Son of Hades?? in fighting against them. They had become fast friends over the years through adventure and fighting. Diana noticed he, just like her, didn't age. + It had been a shame that after a new portal opened, they could leave but were needed, but Diana would visit him and he would visit her. + Amity Park had changed not much; as he had fallen through the portal, the whole town thought he was Isekai'd and now could return. And man, the whole town was surprised as they saw Danny, that massive and full-of-muscle Fenton man. Not sure what to do. But the Fentons were happy to see him back. Danny, too, was happy to see his mom, dad, Tucker, Sam, Jazz, and Ellie. Ellie told him how she protected the town while he was gone, and Tucker and Sam told him what he missed in school and similar. Jazz was now his tiny, big sister, as he was taller than her by 1 head. Mom and Dad learned about him being a phantom and were pretty accepting of it; they were just sad he was gone for so long. He been missed 3 years, but the doctors said he was around the start of his 20s in body age but much older. And seem to be prime of his body; the isekai'd changed him. maybe Magic. As Ellie learned by talking with Danny, whom he met in the realm! She wanted to really meet her her Wonder Woman!, but Danny thought first to wait more than a month. She told him about the Space Station. Well, time to visit Diana! She never told him in all the years about the Space Station! + For Diana True to his words, Danny came to visit her maybe to wait one month was much, but here he was in the Watch Tower. It turned out his adorable cutie pie baby clone (his words not her, but she is adorable), Ellie, was a fan. So while she talked to the tiny girl, Danny looked out the window at the stars. She could spend later time with her Danny. Time to tell Ellie about their adventures in the last the last few years in the Realms with Danny.

Conner isn't a clone of Luther and Superman, but Danny phantom and Superman.
Phantom looked at the monitor in the med bay dumbstruck. Several other leaguers were in the same situation. How could this have happened? WHEN did it happen? Sure during the early years of crime fighting, Danny hadn’t been the best at keeping his blood in his body but he had grown by leaps and bounds since then. With GIW and his parents trying to figure out how to take him out, it had become instinctual to make sure that he didn’t leave much of a trace wherever he went. Yet, somehow it had been leaked.
And to Lex Luthor no less.
“I don’t understand. Phantom wasn’t even a part of the league when the Cadmus project was in operation. So how could this be?!” Flash stated as his eyes scanned the results over and over but they remained the same.
“I’m… I’m just as confused as you are.” Danny admitted still feeling overwhelmed by this new information. When Cadmus was in operation he had finally appointed as the King of the Infinite Realms at the age of 21. He didn’t join the Justice League until a little over a year later when some idiotic cultists had thought it was a good idea to try and merge the death realm with the living. Now, going into his second year with the League, Danny was finding out he had been cloned.
Again.
Batman grunted as he leaned back in his chair. “The results don’t lie. I’ve run them about ten times and it has all come up the same. The records on Cadmus had stated that Superman and Lex Luthor were the donors in creating Connor. However, Phantom’s DNA is a perfect match.”
The halfa looked to the teenager who was lying on a bed in the other room unconscious. While out on a mission, Superboy had taken several nasty hits and was severely injured. He had needed a blood transfusion and the poor kid had a horrible reaction when Manhunter tried to use an IV of Luthor’s blood which was supposed to have been a match. (Superman donated his blood as needed. It's not that he didn’t want to help but it was really hard for him to give blood with his body the way it was. Most needles just bent out of shape when they tried to pierce the skin.) It was touch and go but it appeared that Danny’s was a perfect match in more ways than one. Phantom pulled out his cell phone and started texting Jazz. She was not going to believe this.
“Phantom, what are you doing?” Batman asked when he saw him pull the device out.
“Texting my sister.”
Flash, finally, peeled his eyes away from the monitor. “Why?”
“Because, apparently, I have a long lost son who I didn’t even know about and she is going to flip that Superboy is her nephew,” Danny responded with a smirk. He wished he could have delivered the news in person. Oh! He also needed to get a hold of his other sister. Dani was going to be so excited to learn that she was no longer the only clone in the family.
Thoughts were swirling inside of his head. Conner currently lived at the base of the Young Justice team. Mainly because he didn’t have anywhere to go. Would the boy mind if he took him home with him? His castle in the Ghost Zone was massive and a lot of the rooms were unoccupied. Conner could pick as many of the rooms as he wanted for all he cared. So long as he was happy. Danny’s apartment was a lot smaller but he could probably upgrade so that Conner could have his own space. Money wasn’t really an issue anymore. It would probably do wonders for the teen’s mindset if he had a proper home to come back to instead of the reminder that the one person who was supposed to care about him didn’t.
“You are taking this awfully well,” Batman said as a statement but Danny could feel the questioning gaze of the bat when he put his phone away. “I would have thought you would be mad.”
“Oh, I’m livid all right.” Phantom replied and what he said was true. “I just found out today that I have a son because the boy was put into the hospital due to the severity of his injuries and he had existed for at least two years in this world without my knowledge. Two years that were filled with an unprecedented amount of physical, emotional, and mental trauma as he tries to figure himself out and separate his identity from the man who is supposed to be his other father and mentor. Only for that man to have treated him as an abomination for existing in the first place.” The room temperature dropped to the point that the breath of the other Leaguers showed. “To be honest, I had already low-key adopted him because of that fact but now that I know I’m related there are going to be some changes.”
Flash and Batman exchanged a look seeing the green eyes of the ghost king flare for a few moments before settling into a soft pulse. Both were thankful that Superman was off-world, at the moment. Clark would have probably said something that would have set the man off if he had been there for the startling revelation. Superman cared about Conner. He did but he was having a hard time overlooking the fact that he was cloned without his consent. So Conner’s life was basically denied by the one person he wanted to be acknowledged the most.
Superman would have to be told before he came back so that he would be prepared for when Phantom was going to come at him. Hopefully, enough time will have passed so that Phantom will have calmed down and had a chance to figure out what he wanted to say. Regardless, it wasn’t going to be a fun conversation. For now, Batman nodded to the halfa and turned back to the monitor. “Why don’t you go check on Conner? He should be waking up soon and this news might be what he needs to hear.”
“Maybe he won’t see himself as a villain anymore because he shared DNA with one.” Danny nodded and flew into the teen’s room trying to think of a good way to tell him. How was he going to react? What was he going to say? Would he accept Danny as a father? It didn’t have to be a father role right away, maybe even a cousin or brother. Whatever the boy felt most comfortable with. After all, it didn’t matter what Conner picked in the end because he was family.
And he would never be fighting through things alone again.

Mini Phantom Invasion.
Hi, I plan for this to be a series of inter connected one shots based on some of my favorite prompts. I’m a huge Tim Drake/Red Robin x Danny phantom shipper, so for now most of my fics will feature them. Once I’ve end this series, I’ll try branching out to other relationships Danny could have with the bats.
I can’t remember where I got all of them but I’ll try to tag as I find them. If anyone notices a prompt or plot they’ve seen please let me know or tag the person it came from. I’m knew to posting on Tumblr so I’m still getting used to how to tag and insert links. Thank you.
🤍🖤💚💙💚🖤🤍
Chapter 1
Danny was not having a good day. He’d had a fight with his parents about ghost hunting, stating clearly that he had no interest in their bias views on an entire species based on one encounter when they were young. It had escalated to the point where they blamed his lack of interest on the fact that he was spending to much time with his sister and his female friends.
He’d had enough! He left mid argument and was contemplating just packing up and moving into the Ghost Zone permanently. As he’d slammed the door he could hear his parents shouts for him to come back and once again blaming his behaviour on a ghost.
What did his sexuality have to do with ghost hunting? And what was wrong with wanting to be more feminine sometimes? He honestly didn’t understand why they found it so weird or wrong for him to swap between genders and pronouns? Jazz, Sam and Tucker accepted him as he was, they didn’t but an eye when he would randomly say ‘she’, ‘they’ or ‘him’, they just continued the conversation with the new pronoun and that was that. They understood and accepted that sometime he felt male or female or neither. He was lucky to have them.
The day just seemed to continue down hill from there. It was summer vacation so Sam was forced to spend time with her parents at some rich holiday resort, Tucker had won a spot in some sort of tech camp and Jazz was still at College working on a finals thesis and was unable to come back for the summer. He was essentially alone for the summer. He could hang out with Val but she was working a lot and he didn’t want to bother her. He still felt guilty about her dad losing his job, even if it wasn’t entirely his fault.
*****
After leaving the house he’d found a place to transform and let the cool rings of light soothe him and took off into the sky. After finding out they could survive in space it became their favourite way to relax, they’d spend ours exploring space, even hang out on the moon. Thank you high speed and portal powers. Their Phantom form had changed in the last two years. People could no longer tell if they were male or female and he looked less human now. Thankfully, they looked nothing like their alternate future self. When their legs melded together their ghostly tail looked more eel like and their ears were longer and thiner, resembling delicate fins. Jazz and their friends had joked about how the acted like cat ears. Lastly their face was now a pale mint color, almost white and translucent, his eyes were still the same luminous ecto-green with deep blue pupils. The only similarity to Dan, that they could see, were the fangs and longer hair both of which were also present in their human form.
*****
They had been flying around Amity, a somewhat lazy patrol of his claimed haunt, it was a calm night. Ever since they had defeated Pariah Dark the other ghost had calmed down and came to Amity less frequently. A few still came to bug them, namely Skulker, Ember, Johny and Kitty. Young Blood and Boxy more frequently than the others and of course Cujo came by often. Their visits were more to do with fulfilling their obsessions than anything else. Danny’s obsession was Space but so was Protection. They needed to fulfil both to some extent or suffer from a form of ghost hunger. It was a win win situation even if they did go back… home? Was it really still a home?
Before they could go down that dark spiral again their instincts took over and they narrowly dodged a bright green shot that had been aimed at their head. Whirling around and flying higher out of range they looked at their attacker and just stared.
“of course it’s them.” They muttered. Before repeating it with more venom than they thought they were capable of. Which was shocking because not even Vlad had receive as much hatred in the entirety of the time they’ve known him than in that split second they felt it towards their own parents. “Of fucking course it’s them!”
They blink away the shock of such an intense emotion and huffed. Not even bothering to acknowledge them they turned around to leave. That had been a mistake. They’d barely made it a few paces before pain bloomed across their back as an Eco-blast shredded the fins on their lower back and bit deep into their flesh. They bit back a cry of shock as they felt themselves plummet from the sky. It took a moment but they gathered enough concentration to open a portal. He didn’t care where they ended up as their only thought was ‘Somewhere safe.’
They fell through and just before they lost consciousness, they heard their parents yell after him.
“Get back here you ghost scum, so we can rip you apart molecule by molecule!”
“We won’t forgive you for corrupting our Danny!”
‘Of course… It’s always Phantoms fault…’ Danny’s world turned black as he continued to fall. Maybe when they opened their eyes again all of it would have been a dream.
*****
Somewhere in the infinite green a Grandfather clock chimed. A screen flickered. Time flowed on.
“All is as it should be.”
Chapter 2
(I'm Not A Cynic Song by Alec Benjamin)
Danny pulled their little floating ducks out of their personal pocket dimension and set them to gently drift in the hot spring. They had found it while wandering the forest. Their lower back still ached and they were a little worried about how it hadn’t healed completely yet.
*****
They didn’t know where they were or how long they had been in this dimension but they were safe and alone for the time being. When they’d woken up, the first thing they did was try to figure out where they were. thankfully no-one had discovered them, tucked away in the underbrush of the forest they had landed in. They’d let invisibility wash over them and flew high enough to get a view of the land. They recognised asian architecture and flew in the direction they had spotted a small farming village. With a closer look they determined they had landed in some version of Japan. Instinctually they knew they were not in their home dimension. Everything, even the air and feel of the atmosphere felt slightly shifted to the left. It was like that feeling of entering a hotel room, they were all essentially the same but there were the little details that told you it was a different hotel.
*****
Brushing the thought, and everything associated with the reason they were injured and alone in a foreign dimension, aside. They coiled their tail in the centre of the spring and sank down until their lower back was submerged in the healing warmth of the spring. Closing their eyes in content they began to hum. Their eyes shot open when they felt a gentle nudge against his arm but smiled gently at the little wisp as it bobbed and drifted in the breeze. They continued to hum and watched in amusement as more joined the first. The little orbs of light ranged in color from soft pale blues to vibrant greens and warm reds, oranges and yellows.
They lost themselves in their song as they twirled in and played with the water, creating little floating ice crystals that caused mist to form around them as hot and cold air danced around each other. Humming soon gave way to words as they swayed to the rhythm only they could hear.
“I'm just bein' realistic, bein' honest with myself
I've tried bein' optimistic but it doesn't seem to help
So I'll just have to admit this is the hand that I've been dealt
I'm not bein' pessimistic, just bein' honest with myself”
They were thankful to Pandora, who had taught them to sing in an effort to train his ghostly wail, for realising he was taking on the form and habits of a triton.
“I'm not a cynic, oh, today's just not my day
I've tried to spin it 'bout a thousand different ways
But from every angle, oh, the outlook is the same
I swear that I'm not a cynic, my glass just has no water in it today”
They poured all the hurt, betrayal, anger and loneliness into their voice, allowing them to release it all in a more melodic call than his previous wail. That, as pandora explained, had been an unhealthy burst of emotion and they were lucky they hadn’t blown out their vocal cords the last few times they used it.
“I swear that I'm not a cynic, my glass just has no water in it”
Through their practice they found they could influence emotions but not out right control them. They were glad, influencing them was bad enough, he didn’t want to manipulate anyone. They didn’t want to spend their life wondering if the people around them truly cared or if they had somehow manipulated them into caring. They may me a budding empath but they still struggled to tell the difference between a sincere emotion and a projected emotion.
“You only get that which you're given, it's not always up to you
Not every Sunday is a picnic 'cause the sky ain't always blue
You can't just change the weather by changing your point of view
Some days you have to wait until the storm just passes through”
Danny’s voice grew louder as their emotions poured out into the lyrics. They knew they still had their friend, their sister, Elle and everyone in the Infinite Realm. They were also the Half Ghost son of ghost hunters and scientist with a heavy bias against Ecto-entities. They will be the rulers of an entire realm in only a few short years.
“I'm not a cynic, oh, today's just not my day
I've tried to spin it 'bout a thousand different ways
But from every angle, oh, the outlook is the same
I swear that I'm not a cynic, my glass just has no water in it today”
They gave a bitter sweet smile as they watched the wisps duck and weave between the ice crystals. They looked around for their ducks and their smile turned a little more sad as they waved their hand and the little ducks joined the dancing lights and crystals. Each one was modelled after his favourite comic book vigilante. They’d had to save them from the dump truck once, they’d been looking for them when he’d asked his parents, their father had made an off hand comment about how he should throw out old toys and they’d panicked. They’d manage to find and save them all just before the truck arrived.
“So like a boat on the ocean, I'll rock with the waves
God, I'm so sick of this notion that I have to fake
Fake my emotions and pretend I'm okay
So like a boat on the ocean, I'll just rock with the waves”
Jazz had bought them for them, after they had told her about being gender fluid and pan, they were probably one of their most treasured possessions. Jazz had gone on a whole spiel about how it’s important that she show support and provide a safe and understanding environment. They hadn’t been listening, they’d been crying. To caught up in their overflowing emotions and happiness. It lasted a day, their parents had been less than understanding, with their passive-aggressive comments and actions.
“I'm not a cynic, oh, today's just not my day
I've tried to spin it 'bout a thousand different ways
But from every angle, oh, the outlook is the same
I swear that I'm not a cynic, my glass just has no water in it today”
Their frown returned. They had shot them, that in itself wasn’t unusual, as Phantom. Isn’t that a sad thought. What was was that there had been no prior warning. It was a sniper shot, from their mother. Only their heightened hearing and instinct had saved them from ending up dead dead instead of a Halfa. That bothered him
“I swear that I'm not a cynic, my glass just has no water in it today”
They returned to humming the last notes of their song as the dunked under the water to rinse off. They popped back up and gathered their ducks, floated up out of the spring and laughed as the wisps twirled around him. They landed on the ground, allowing their legs to form and walked off into the forest, dancing lights trailing after them. Completely unaware of their watchers.
*****
The shadows slunk away to report their findings. While two birds hesitantly returned to their temporary nest, One worried and wanting to help the being that reminded him so much of his younger siblings. The other having felt a connection to a being that had shared similar experiences, someone they wanted to help and if they wanted to end the beings loneliness… that was no one’s business but their own. Both slept little that night, both determined to find the being again and offer what they could to help.

Amnesia Chapter 2
Decided to continue this for the Dannymay prompt: Fractals
Title: Amnesia WC: 3849 Summary: Phantom didn't remember who he was before. One day, he just woke up here, and this is where he's been ever since.
[ao3] [chapter 1]
****
It was called Earth.
That, Phantom—no, Danny learned, was where the Human Realm existed. It was in a doorway between Skulker’s island and Ember’s house. When Danny closed his eyes, he could picture the door, having burned in his memory the feeling of raw energy emitting from the gap between its hinges.
He also learned a lot of other things. Like, that he had parents. Two of them, in fact. One was named Maddie, and one was named Jack. Apparently, Sam and Tucker weren’t allowed to use their spaceship—no, the Spectre Speeder—but they hardly seemed angry about this.
Maddie was gentle when she touched him as if she couldn’t believe he was real. She cupped his face, her fingers gently rubbing his cheeks before tears welled in her eyes. She pulled him in close, and her suit smelled like burnt lime.
His father, Jack, was much different. He was a huge man with a personality to match. He slapped Danny’s shoulder, nearly sending him flying, and barked a loud, “Danno! Atta boy! Knew those ghosts couldn’t keep you down!”
Danny couldn’t help but notice that his hazmat suit was the same style as theirs. But when he showed them, his aura twinkling with excitement as he changed forms, instead of returning his glee, their eyes tightened and their smiles seemed strained.
His sister—he had a sister—told him to give them time. They had been through a lot. They weren’t used to seeing their son this way (what way?). They never expected him to…
Her voice trailed off after that. Phantom tried to peer past her thin face and set jaw, past her teal eyes to figure out what? They never expected their son to what?
But she just looked away, her thin brows tight, before her expression melted into something far more gentle. She patted his shoulder and said, “Glad to have you back, little brother.”
Phantom switched back to Danny and he noticed the tension in the room release. Maybe they just weren’t used to seeing him as a ghost, like he hadn’t been used to seeing humans in the Infinite Realms. Yes, that must have been it!
When he saw his bedroom for the first time, it was hard to not jump with glee. The NASA posters! Model rockets! Star constellations on the ceiling!
He wasn’t sure if he remembered this room—he thought he might have—but even so, he knew it couldn’t be anyone else’s except his. It was perfect. Exactly what he could have dreamed.
“You know what NASA is?” Tucker had asked after Danny pointed out the decor.
“Of course!” Danny responded, walking up to the poster. “This was Apollo 11! It was the first rocket to bring astronauts to the moon. And this one—” he jabbed his finger at the one next to it “—is Explorer 1! It’s a satellite NASA launched that started the space race.”
His friends exchanged a glance.
“Do you know what Doomed is?” Tucker asked after a beat of silence.
Danny tilted his head. He tried to think…
“No, I don’t think so,” he said.
“Ah. Got it.”
Sam showed him all sorts of things on Earth. And Danny was surprised at all the similarities to the Ghost Zone—that’s what Sam and Tucker called the Infinite Realms. The plants were nearly identical, albeit a bit less green and glowy on Earth. Earth had liquids like water. It was clear, and it ran out of taps and faucets. Earth also had its own form of energy. While the Ghost Zone used ectoplasm as energy, Earth had electricity.
Danny vaguely remembered electricity. But, he couldn’t exactly place where.
“The portal,” Tucker answered, taking a bite of his sandwich. Apparently, this was an important food item that Danny needed to learn how to make.
“Portal…” Danny stared down at the mess of mayo on his bread. He hadn’t shaken the bottle enough before he squeezed, apparently.
The mood of the room turned awkward. Danny looked up, confused, to see everyone’s eyes avoiding him.
“What portal?” Danny asked.
“It’s how you were separated from us, son,” Jack answered. He walked around the counter, putting a heavy hand on Danny’s back. “The one in the basement. But don’t worry. We have you back here now.”
Danny closed his eyes, trying to remember. Some ghosts remembered their deaths, he was told. But he didn’t. Just like how he didn’t remember what a sandwich was, or a computer, or how he was supposed to shake the bottle of mayo before squeezing it onto his bread.
He remembered…a flash of green?
Fire in his bones?
His head hurt. He put the knife down on the counter and rubbed his chest with his palm. He had never been in his human form for so long before, and the warmth must have been throwing him off. His core was still there. He could feel the faint chill whispering to his hand. But it was dormant, under the tutelage of his human heart right now.
“It’s okay, Danny,” Jack said. “Take your time.”
He looked around for Maddie, but she was nowhere to be seen. He wasn’t sure why that filled him with a sense of unease.
“Where’s my—um, where’s Mom?” Danny asked. It felt strange to call her that after so long of not having a family.
“In the basement working on something.” There was that strained smile again from Jack. “I’m gonna go check on her, actually. You kids have fun!”
Danny watched him exit the kitchen and cross the barrier to the basement. Just beyond that staircase was the portal back to the Infinite Realms. It was so close now. He wondered how he’d gotten so lost there, unable to find this door home.
Home. The word gave him a nice tingling under his skin.
“Here, let me finish this,” Sam said, pulling his mess of a sandwich over to her. “I don’t normally condone someone eating meat, but I know you like it. Do you want one or two slices of turkey on yours, Danny?”
Danny wasn’t sure. He wasn’t sure about a lot of things anymore.
“Put two on,” Jazz said. “He could use it.”
“You’ll probably be able to go to school with us,” Sam said.
Tucker grinned at him. “It’s been lame without you, dude.”
“Lame?” Danny couldn’t imagine a building with other human teenagers as ever being lame. Sam and Tucker seemed great! He was sure the other humans were just as fun.
“Ever since Sam moved up to honors English, I’ve been stuck in the lower level by myself. So rude of you to abandon me there, by the way.”
“Sorry,” Danny said, unsure if he was supposed to be sorry or not. He didn’t even know what honors English was.
“It’s okay, now you’ll be back with me.” Tucker froze, sharp eyes flickering over to Danny for a moment. “I mean, hopefully, you will be. You’ve been missing for a little while…”
“How long?” Danny finally asked the question he’d been burning to say since he got here.
The room was silent. Jazz ducked down, her hair shading her eyes from view.
“How long was I away for?”
“Nine months. Give or take.”
His stomach felt weirdly hollow at that. “Oh.”
He wasn’t sure exactly what answer he was expecting. For some reason, it had felt like years he was drifting around the Infinite Realms, yet it was just a handful of months?
Maybe time worked differently in the Human World than it did in the Ghost Zone.
Sam and Tucker eventually had to leave. They said that humans lived with their own families in their own homes. This made sense to Danny, who remarked that it worked the same for ghosts too.
His parents had seemed surprised at this. They didn’t know that ghosts had families. And they mostly don’t—at least, not in the same way that humans seemed to have them—but communities living on the same islands or behind the same doors were common.
“Islands?” Jack asked. “Ghosts live on those things?”
“Remember, hun? The probe we sent into the Ghost Zone got some photos of a castle on one of the islands.”
Jack snapped his fingers. “Of course!”
They sat down for dinner, and despite Danny initially explaining how he’d eaten a few hours ago, his stomach growled at the smell of the food.
Danny put his hand on his stomach, surprised. “I must need more food on Earth than I do in the Infinite Realms.”
Jack gave his back a hearty slap again. “Don’t worry, Danno! We’ll get your body all regulated in no time!”
Jazz handed him a plate with human food on it. It looked familiar, as most things he’d seen so far had, but when he tried to dig deep into the holes of his brain and pick out what this was, he drew a blank.
But whatever it was, it was delicious. He munched on his slice as Jazz had called it, his mouth letting out a happy hum. The food was warm, a rarity for food in the Infinite Realms, and both sweet and savory.
“What’s this called again?” Danny asked. “We don’t have it in the Infinite Realms.”
There was Maddie’s tight smile again. “It’s pizza, sweetie.”
“Pizza’s awesome!” Danny said with a bright tone that was perhaps exaggerating how grateful he was for the delicious meal because he didn’t understand why Maddie and Jack were giving each other side glances right now and wasn’t he mirroring them correctly? Wasn’t he doing this human thing right?
His parents told him the police would want to talk to him, and he got nervous thinking of all the times Walker wanted to “talk” to him for being a “worldly being.” His parents looked concerned at this and reminded him that things were different here, that ghosts weren’t allowed here.
And so he scrunched his eyebrows as he’d done for the dozenth time that day and frowned into his plate because wasn’t he a ghost too?
That night was cloudy.
“I thought we were supposed to be able to see the stars, Jazz,” Danny said, looking out his bedroom window. His family had brought him up here after dinner to change into what they called pajamas, which Jazz explained were softer clothes they wore to bed.
Danny remembered pajamas. There was a ghost that wore them too.
The one ghost that tried to talk to Phantom, that ironically Phantom couldn’t stand.
Jazz patted his shoulder. “Tomorrow night, maybe.”
“Ugh. I can’t wait till tomorrow! Maybe I can just go fly up there. How high up do the clouds go, do you think?”
“Too high,” Jazz said. “You’ll get hurt if you try. Please, stay here with me. We can watch some TV for a while, okay?”
Jazz looked at him like she was terrified he might disappear, and Danny froze, his eyes flickering between his sister and the sky.
He really wanted to see the stars…
“Please, Danny?” Her voice was small, and she gripped his arm. “Can we just hang out again?”
Danny didn’t know what she meant, he couldn’t remember hanging out with her before, but he still gave her his best smile and a, “Sure!”
He followed her to the living room despite the fact that the trees in the living room blocked his view of the sky and damn he wanted to go outside. But perhaps Jazz could see how he was squirming on the worn sofa because she put on a movie about NASA and suddenly, the outside didn’t seem so important after all.
“Are you tired?” she asked when the movie ended.
Yeah. He was tired, actually. And it felt heavy and weird in his human body.
And so, for the first time since he could remember, Danny Fenton (he was a Fenton now!) slept on a bed.
A real bed.
Like the other humans.
The next day, Danny’s parents brought him outside the house to go to the police station. The first thing he noticed was the smell of the air. Ectoplasmic atmosphere smelled acidic, while this one smelled fresh.
Jazz told him it was from the grass. The green grass.
Apparently, there was no ectoplasm in that grass.
“That’s sort of strange, isn’t it?” Danny asked.
“What’s strange?” Jack asked. “You mean, ghosts?”
Maddie elbowed him, and then Jack’s eyes went wide and he gave a nervous glance down at Danny, whose eyebrows were furrowed again because were ghosts really that strange?
Was he strange?
Was he allowed to be here?
Would the other humans accept him for having a ghost half?
It turned out that the Infinite Realms and Earth had more in common than they had differences in that regard.
The investigator’s mustache twitched as he stared at Danny, who squirmed under his gaze. He fell through a portal—not his parents’ portal, just a portal—and was lost in the Ghost Zone. His parents, not Sam and Tucker, found him and brought him back home. His parents suspected a ghost had meddled with his mind, resulting in amnesia, but no one could say for certain.
And most importantly, he was human. All human. He was so human, in fact, that he was told to not even bring this topic up. Because it would only look suspicious. A real human wouldn’t need to point this out, Danny, so don’t say a word.
How was Danny able to survive in the Ghost Zone?
He got lucky, landing on an island with its own atmosphere. It had oxygen.
Danny glanced outside. The sky was blue here, not like the Infinite Realms where the backdrop of the horizon was black. That was, unless the area was rich with ectoplasm, in which case it was green.
Did Danny interact with any ghosts while in the Ghost Zone?
He tried. They ignored him.
He liked that he didn’t have to lie about this one.
Did he remember anything that happened before?
No.
He didn’t like that he didn’t have to lie about this one.
He wished he could remember. Maybe then he would understand why he wasn’t allowed to tell anyone about his ghost side. How he fell through the portal. Why the only thing he remembered was space.
Space.
The thought made Danny shiver in excitement, and he looked up at the detective, grinning. “I remember a lot of things, actually! Like how Sputnik 1 was the first satellite placed in orbit! Or…about exoplanets! Like, oh! Like Kepler 16b! It’s an exoplanet that orbits two different stars.”
He sat back, pleased with himself for recalling this. The whispers of space, space, space kissed his skin where his aura would have been.
The detective’s eyebrows shot up, and his twitchy mustache fell suddenly still. He ran a hand over his wrinkled forehead before checking his notes again.
Danny frowned. The detective didn’t seem nearly as impressed with this information as Danny thought he would have been.
You don’t remember your parents? Your friends?
No, he did not.
But you remember all these random facts?
Not random facts. They were all about space.
Danny made sure to stress this information. Space was important, he was certain of it. If it weren’t so very important, then why was that the only thing he remembered? Even over his parents? Sam and Tucker? Jazz?
The investigator stood up, apologized, and swiftly left the room.
Danny drew on the table with invisible ink and his finger as a pen. Stars, planets. He traced Capricorn, and then Scorpius. It was nice, the familiarity. He didn’t like the blinding lights overhead—why was this world so bright—and he didn’t understand this world’s obsession with computers and secrets and hiding things. He kept looking out expecting green and instead getting blue sky or white ceilings. He didn’t understand why the investigator didn’t like his answer about space.
Humans were so confusing. Why were they so confusing? He came here to get answers, and now he was only left with more questions.
The door opened again, and the detective was back. He brought Danny out to his parents, who engulfed him immediately with their arms. He went in the car and they said he did a “great job” and said not to worry about the “slip up” because he had been through a lot, he was confused, they would take care of it.
Danny felt his brows furrow as he stared at the passing cars. Slip up?
He didn’t remember turning into his ghost form.
He wondered what they meant by that. But, just like he’d always done in the Infinite Realms, he kept his mouth shut. Stared out the window. Mhm-ed and uhu-ed at their rambling.
That night, he stared up at the stars. He had changed back into his ghost form—his family had gone to sleep already, so there was no need to worry about making them tense again. He cupped his hands, eyeing through his palms like they were a telescope. Through his fingers, he could see the tiny pinpricks of stars spreading like fractals across the night sky.
He dropped his hand—his aura was getting in the way—and the fractals grew bigger, broader. They stretched into the horizon, glowing pinpricks of hot white, red, blue, green. The Milky Way airbrushed the sky, adding contrast to the twinkling background.
His own aura responded in kind, letting its own stars and planets out.
This. This.
This was stunning.
Perfect.
This was everything.
No matter how confusing the day had been, this made up for it. Being here, in the human world, finally able to see the one thing he’d always dreamt of.
And the world was perfect for it. Dark. Like the Infinite Realms, actually. But a bit less green.
He was lost in the view, soaking in every inch of the sky before him. He felt something wet drip on his cheek, and he ignored it, swallowing the lump that threatened his throat.
“Danny?” a voice sounded from behind him.
The lump vanished, and he hurriedly wiped the tears off his cheek. It was bad to be emotional in front of other ghosts, and he assumed it was the same for humans, judging by his innate reflex.
He turned around and nearly dropped through the ceiling. Poking her head out the window was Jazz, dressed in her blue pajamas, wiping her own fatigue out of her eyes.
And then Danny realized, perhaps too late, that he was not Danny, he was Phantom. And he remembered how his family felt uncomfortable around Phantom.
He hardly had to think before the reflex was triggered, transforming him back into Danny. Jazz frowned, but didn’t comment on his appearance otherwise.
Why had she frowned, though? Was she upset that he had been Phantom when she saw him? He just wouldn’t do that anymore. Well, he said he wasn’t going to do that before, and yet he had been Phantom in front of her anyway. Only for a brief moment, but still. He just got to the human world. He didn’t want everyone to drive him off into his own isolation here like in the Infinite Realms.
To now-Danny’s dismay, she hoisted herself over through the window with clumsy motions and began half-walking-half-crawling over to him.
He squirmed. Space was right there and he was suppressing his core. He didn’t like this feeling. He didn’t like having to hold back his ghost form when the object of all his desire was all around him for the first time in—as far as he remembered—ever.
She sat down next to him, and he scootched to the side. Humans were much more contact-heavy than ghosts were. And they were warm. It was so alien to Danny, so confusing.
“Stargazing?” she finally said after too long of a silence.
Danny wasn’t sure whether he was supposed to answer yes or no. All the other humans today seemed to get awkward when he talked about space.
So he shrugged.
The fractals in the stars were sort of like the fractals in humans. Confusing pattern after confusing pattern. Limitless, neverending. Unsaid questions repeating over and over.
“You can talk to me, you know,” Jazz said.
Danny had never had anyone to talk to. No one except the blob ghosts that floated around the ectoplasmic ponds in the Infinite Realms.
He wondered if he could ask Jack and Maddie if he could bring some over here. But then he dispelled that idea immediately because, according to them, ghosts weren’t even allowed on Earth.
So instead, he asked her, “Did I talk to you a lot before?”
She took a moment before she opened her mouth again. “When we were kids, you used to talk to me about everything. Even space.”
That piqued Danny’s interest. “I liked space when I was a kid?”
Jazz laughed, her voice soft like the puttering of rockets. “Oh, you loved space. Mom and Dad used to send you to a space explorer summer camp every year. That’s where you made that model rocket, you know.”
Danny smiled, turning his attention up to the flickering lights. “I wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up.”
He wasn’t sure where that came from.
Judging by Jazz’s little ‘o’ shaped mouth, she was just as surprised that he remembered this as she was.
“I think…I think I’d still like to try to be one now if you guys will let me stay here?”
He held his breath. That question just spilled out, and now his chest was tight, and anxiety was creeping up his spine.
Danny was Danny, but he was also Phantom. And Phantom wasn’t welcome on Earth, according to everything he’d learned over the past two days. Just like how Danny wasn’t welcome in the Infinite Realms.
But he really wanted to be welcome somewhere.
“Oh, Danny.” Jazz looked heartbroken, and guilt clawed at Danny’s stomach.
Because here it was going to come. She was going to tell him that he wasn’t welcome here. He was a ghost, and ghosts shouldn’t be here. They should stay in the Ghost Zone with the other ghosts.
Because that’s what everyone always said.
But instead, what spilled out of her was different.
“Danny, of course you should stay. You’re family. It doesn’t matter if you don’t remember us, or if you’re different now. I don’t care. You’re my brother, okay?”
She held out her arms, and despite the strange feeling that contact still gave him, he closed the gap between them, wrapping his arms around her.
“Thanks, Jazz.”
She squeezed him gently, still treating him like something that would disappear at a moment’s notice.
“Please don’t run off. I mean it,” she whispered.
“Okay,” he said.
And he meant it. Despite the stress and confusion of the day, this was the first time that Danny could remember where anyone wanted him. Liked him. Wanted to be around him and hug him and talk to him.
Now that he’d had a taste for it, he never wanted to let it go.
Home.
Maybe…maybe he was finally there.

Get what you wished for
First time writing a prompt: DP X DC au “get what you wished for”
Au where Danny is the blood daughter of Batcat is between Dick and Jason's age. Selina gave up Dione Luna Wayne as she help she is unable to raise her and Bruce would paint a target on her daughter's back. As a memento, she left two stuffed cats, a letter and a bat toy to remember her by.
How the Fentons got Danny:  Gotham is full of supernatural energy, with the Lazarus pits under it. The Fentons trying to find a place to create a bigger portal with LP juice,(experiments can fuck you up reproductively. Jazz was a struggle to birth.)
Jasmine comes across Baby Dione and duckling imprints on her. The Fentons don’t realize the baby was abandoned and named him Danny, not realizing the wrong gender( they never do), no claim to the baby, ours now.
The Fentons take some LP juice to find more LP juice, which in amity park, there is a bunch(uncorrupted) and the ley lines are weak there. (finds house over direct access to an unclaimed Lazarus pit, and builds a secret third basement to get more ectoplasm to fuel their obsession. LP is ectoplasm btw.)
Danny is genderfluid but presents themselves as FTM Trans.
Portal time!: Danny shows his friends, Sam and Tuck his parent's third child, the portal. Peer pressured by their only friends, Danny goes into the plugged, malfunctioning portal, only to get zapped where their soul and body are fused as one being, unable to separate. (Danny sort of blames his friends for their death but appreciates that they are sticking by them. But later realizes they are their ticket to excitement.)
Jasmine notices right away that something is wrong with Danny. (Jazz is much closer to Danny in this au)
Danny is more independent in this au. (make more friends with ghosts, help them than enemies)
Danny by extension is an atlas of the Infinite realms and Earth, is pretty much op. Picking up skills and powers like nobody's business, (immortality? maybe, BAMF? definitely) Clockwork as ghost parent, Ellie, Dan, the other clones and Jazz as their sisters/brothers/ children and being High Eldritch sovereign of the Infinite realms. ( Fuck u, Vlad, everyone can see ur evil corrupt ass, creepy and fake)
Dual Obsession is space and peace/protection, has a multi-core and is blessed by the zone itself.
Amity Park is in a time/paradox bubble where the events of Danny Phantom occur. (in all 3 cannon seasons, they have never celebrated a birthday, I‘ve noticed.)
How Bat fam meets Danny: It’s been a few years, Danny reveals to their parents his status they are excited and can’t wait to figure out how he survived.  The GIW has bugged their home and raided their house as their want also figure out how Danny survived, and make Super-Soldiers. (tipped off by Vlad)
Danny and Jazz take this as a worst-case scenario and book it to Gotham by Danny's suggestion because their bio-fam lives there and Gotham energy fuck with ectoplasm readings. Danny starts to look for his mom Selina, but when the civilian bat fam sees them, they look like a young Martha Wayne. Jazz starts working in Arkham internship for her Psychology degree and Danny goes to Gotham U for College. Some of Danny’s Ghost friends follow them, i.e: Desiree.
Angst time: Bruce's wish vs. Damian's wish
Bruce's wish: "I wish I knew you earlier in life to protect you..."
Bruce is given Dione at a very young age and does his best at trying to raise her.
Dione is clueless about her family's trade secret. She is a civilian and sort of grew up alone. (Bruce was busy being batman and CEO of WE, Tim drake situation, baby alone in a big empty house.)
Bruce still adopts Dick, Jason, Tim, Cass, Steph, Damian and Duke. (Damian and duke after the event)
Loves what Bruce does for Gotham, doesn't like that Wayne Enterprise takes most of his time away from the family, and hates Batman because of the ouroboros he creates in Gotham. (Endless cycle of crime, rehab, corruption, murder{Thank you, xmarksthespotonthemilkyway for Supervillain DAD! lex Luthor})
Dione has many hobbies to pass the time while she waits for her family, mainly she paints, writes and spends time with Alfred who she considers her real father instead of Bruce. (Being Batman has downsides, people!)
Selina visits her daughter at the manor and is pissed at Bruce for treating their daughter like a rotting bird in a cage. (Expect it to be there when he returns, to see it leave or die because you took too long to cherish it.)
• ANGST+: After Jason's death and resurrection, The sibs try to get Jason to come to the manor to show Dione that he is alive, at first Dione doesn't believe him or them, but he convinced her otherwise. This is where she learns that their vigilantes. (Jason and Dione were friends that get along like a house on fire, but the house exploded and Dione felt something missing in her life.)
Bruce and Jason as Batman and Red Hood have a huge fight in one of the manor rooms destroying some property and shit. Turns out it was Dione's painting room, where she was secretly working on a portrait painting of the whole family (including the late Jason Todd) for Bruce's birthday, and it gets ruined.
Dione berates them for destroying her work and declares that she fucking hates this family and what they put her through all the time.
Decides she wants to stay with Selina instead. During this time, Dione realizes a way to end the ouroboros cycle and decides to kill the joker in a quiet way, for all the hell he put her and her family through. (Lures joker to an unmarked hill location away from people to a hole in the ground with a wooden casket and fires five rounds at him. He falls in gets covered and is buried alive as he slowly dies from gunshot wounds. She can't have what she wants, and neither will he.)
Dione, later reveals to the family that she killed the joker after he doesn't return to Arkham and can't be found.
Bruce sends her to jail.
The sibs are pissed at Bruce for doing that, while at the GCPD, Dione is taken advantage of and raped by corrupt cops.
The sibs try to get her out and get her to tell them where Joker's buried, but she takes as the cycle is still continuing and commits suicide in Jail. (In her letter to them, she tells her final wish is to be buried on a hill with a clear view of the night sky with a big tree in an unmarked grave, so she can be forgotten as a part of her family, but not Gotham.)
Bruce feels fucking guilty that he pushed his daughter to this point, Selina and Alfred are at an end with him telling him I told you so and feel that Dione should not have been born into this life. (distraught, but once Damian and Duke enter the picture, they treat them better as a family.)
Dione is fully dead and becomes a ghost.
Batman and co. meet the new ruler of the Infinite Realms, and Recognize the ruler, Dione chose to let go of her past and forget them as they have done to her.
Damian's wish: "I wish you were never our sister..."
This is technically the Canon bat fam x DP timelines, but with a few twists.
• Dick is the one holding the fam together. He is more tired and stressed than before, maybe graying early..? (stressed and secretly depressed.)
• Jason is more angst and vengeful than normal and fucking hates Bruce. (Jason is like kill the serial to end the cycle, avenge me, Bruce.)
• Tim despises Damian more so than usual and tolerates Bruce. (baby brother attempts to murder, gets light punishment and the victim is not okay.)
• Stephanie isn't really part of the bat family, goes by spoiler, and is studying to be a nurse. (quit being robin earlier, distant self from negative influence, dated Tim, now Cass.)
• Cass, while mute doesn't communicate well with the rest of the family, which leads her to be quiet more often. (not expressive.)
• Duke, the newest to the family, has a hard time understanding the rest of the family's issues with each other, fearing the family's reaction to him being a meta. ( Batman is more strict with no metas rule, Duke still becomes signal. )
• Alfred is still Canon, but more strict than normal. (Put up with this shit Alfred, but loves his adopted son and grandkids.)
Bruce is still Canon. Mostly negative, hard on himself, the family and everyone he interacts with, and wears a mask (not a physical one) to hide his emotions. Is more Batman than Bruce Wayne. (grunts don't meet clear communication Bruce!!!)
• Damian is still Damian in this verse with his pets but loses his friendship with Jon. (no metas in Gotham, Bruce tolerates Superman.)

Things I would change in Danny Phantom: make Danny and Tuckers friendship and Danny and his bond with his sister the focal point of the big emotional safe haven of the show. Make Danny's parents out right problematic and abusive instead of stereotypical stupid parents Butch Hartmen enjoyes doing. Keep Vlad as the big bad villian(but actually commit to it) or give him a redemption arc. Give Sam a villian arc and explore toxic abusive girls. Especially ones who don't take no from their life long crushes who don't like then back and will never see them more as a friend. Don't let Paulina just be another stereotype. Make pink astronaut end game. Maybe make Danny be the ghost king. God make the game have demon slayer horror and consequences. Imagine if the horror in tht game was like Demon slayer! Last but not least I'd love to make Paulina like this tumblr blog report/writer or something does stuff about ghosts ananthe supernatural.
YES. I really would've liked for Danny and Tucker's friendship to have been explored more as opposed to having Tucker become Danny and Sam's third wheel.
I feel like Jazz's dynamic with the entire trio could've been explored more, especially since it seems like she had more of a bond w/ Sam than her own brother sometimes. But hey, at least she had an obvious bond w/ those two instead of having pretty much nothing w/ Tucker 💀
Considering Butch has a thing for having child abuse in his shows (aka FOP w/ Vicky's existence and Timmy's neglectful parents being why he had Fairy Godparents to begin with), I think Jack and Maddie are an improvement upon that and I would've liked for them to actually be good parents instead of questionable at best, abusive at worse parents so then there could be more angst but not in the sense that Danny fears his parents killing him <- has been reading DP fics
Oh Vlad. He had so much potential and I feel like him asking for what, $500 billion in the finale didn't make sense for him. I do think that him using his ghost powers to save and therefore control the world would've been enough for him and in character. I do like that Vlad is just going to be in space for the rest of his life but also couldn't he have just escaped to the Ghost Zone or whatever 💀? Like, people can't see him when he's INVISIBLE so he could've easily snuck into the Ghost Zone and lived out the rest of his days in solitude to think about everything he's done. I do feel like it was a bit of a cop-out to have the finale's big threat be a fucking asteroid instead of Vlad but eh.
Ooh villain!Sam would've been cool. The ep where Danny got his ice powers was a nice peek into what it could've been like. Also, Sam could've been a badass girlboss <- focusing on the wrong thing here. I would've liked for the show to focus on onesided attraction and not just Fenton's crush on Paulina and Paulina's crush on Phantom but Sam's crush on Danny. That could've been during the whole Gray Ghost thing and how just b/c you're friends/besties with someone, that doesn't mean that the two of you are meant to be romantic partners which is ironic for a demiromantic to say but shh
No cause I LOVE that Valerie wasn't a stereotype and I would've loved it if they did the same for Paulina. Maybe they could've done something like that one FOP episode w/ Trixie being into boy stuff?
I was actually thinking about this earlier and having either Gray Ghost or Pink Astronaut as end game would've been so cool cause both have a girl of color as the love interest and it's not a best friends who barely have chemistry [not saying that's what Danny and Sam are, I'm just talking about the trope in general] to lovers
OH. ANOTHER THING THAT FANFICS MADE ME BELIEVED WAS CANON. I thought Ghost King!Phantom was canon in the show b/c of all the damn fics that had as canon in their AUs and so I was confused by the constant disrespect until it clicked for me that Phantom being Ghost King is another popular phanon thing.
I don't know much about Demon Slayer's horror but I'd assume that it's pretty cool and/or interesting?
Your blogger!Paulina would've been like the PERFECT thing to expand her character. It's genuinely a cool concept that goes w/ her obsession w/ Phantom and then some. I also like the inclusion of Star since I, once again, thought that Paulina and Star were besties b/c of fanfics (do you see how many times I've been gaslit by this damn Phandom???/j).

You Can Only Be So Creepy Before I Embarrass You
Danny Phantom x So, I'm a Spider So What?
Squeal to Danny's New Duds
Summary: Kumoko is a terrifying and creepy spider-ghost chilling in the Ghost Zone who enjoys making cosplay, being edgy, and sweets. Danny asks her for some new clothes and she's happy to fulfill his request in exchange for some cookies.
Rated: G for General Audiences
Danny floated into The Spider’s Den holding a styrofoam box. He landed in the clear space in the center of the mass of web and rock that looked exactly like the main room inside of an apartment. There was a living room section with a TV, couch, and more DVDs than it seemed possible to watch and the tastefully balanced display cases of Anime and Cartoon memorabilia. And there was a kitchen section with a full stove top but separate smaller oven, running water, and a table just big enough for three people. It shown with electric light and the display cases had spotlights on them.
“You’re here!” An excited voice cried out and a large creature with the body of a young woman attached at the waist to a giant spider’s body where its head should be. “Is that the payment for the new outfit?”
“Hey Kumoko! Yeah, this is for you, but, uh,” Danny said, but awkwardly backed up a step and rubbed the back of his neck, “It’ll be a first installment - I couldn’t get money from my parents to get any fancy cakes or anything, so I asked my sister for her chocolate chip cookie recipe, and she help me make these.”
Danny held the box out for her to take and he heard her mumbling something to herself. He looked back at her and held in a laugh because she didn’t know he could hear her talking to herself.
Her hands reached out shakily to take the box from him. “Oh my gosh! A boy made me homemade cookies! He asked his sister to help! He went through so much effort. AND They’re still warm! Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!”
“Go on, take it,” Danny said and practically dropped the box in her hands, she squeaked in response.
She lifted her two front, scythe-like legs and folded them over each other to make a flat surface to set the box on. She opened it slowly and Danny could practically see the anime effects: the cookies glowing like gold treasure, the exaggerated drop of drool, the anime blush. She reached in reverently and gently lifted a cookie with her two hands, slowly raising it to her face; Danny wondered just how long she was going to drag this out. She finally took a bite that took up half the cookie. She squealed again and Danny could see the anime stars in her eyes. She quickly twirled on one back leg, miraculously keeping the box balanced on her folded front legs.
“This is so good!” She said as she started stuffing the rest of the cookie in her mouth. And then another cookie, and another and-
Danny smiled and nodded, “I’m glad you like the-”
“AH!” She screamed and slammed the box shut.
“What? Was one burnt or-”
“No-o!” She whined, “I’ve already eaten half of them! I need to save at least some of them!”
Danny chuckled as she moved to the kitchen part of her little home and put the cookies in a cupboard. Danny reassured her, “I mean, they’re not top quality like you requested, so I do owe you more of them. Quantity to make up for quality.”
She looked at him with puppy eyes, “Yes, but first! You’re new clothes!”
She went to the backroom and came out with a small pile of folded clothes. She set them on her folded legs like she had the box of cookies, and held up each item on it’s own to show it off.
“First, is the base shirt.” She held up what looked like a plain white shirt, but if you look at it from inches away, you could see some impossibly thin lines of shining silk mixed into the main cotton-texture. She moved it slowly under a spotlight and Danny saw that the shining parts formed a floral pattern, rose shaped flowers with thick leaves and vines filling the space between them.
“Woah, that's amazing!” Danny said as she handed him the shirt and he moved it under the lights himself.
“Next, is the suit vest! You’ll put this on top of the shirt and the tie.” She held up the vest. It was black with intricate silk embroidery, lace-thin green lines formed overlapping octagonal spiderwebs with random patches of green silk in simplified bat shapes. There were two silver buttons that connected perfectly into holes lined with the spiderweb pattern. The back was a separate piece of green cloth, having a single octagonal spiderweb with a bat in the center in green embroidery.
“Kumoko…” Danny stared at her
She looked at him nervously and showed Danny the sides of the vest, "I used two adjustment straps on the sides of the waist instead of one in the center of the back so it wouldn't obstruct the pattern as much."
Danny fixed her with a hard look, “You haven’t been writing vampire fanfiction about me again, have you?”
“Of course not!” She said, too quick and loud. She shoved the vest into Danny’s hands and then held up the next piece. “I’m really proud of the jacket and trousers!”
She held up the jacket and, true to her pride, it was pretty magnificent. Just like the shirt and vest, it was way more detailed than it needed to be. It was black with colored silk embroidery that turned black halfway up the torso and sleeves, going from obviously visible to almost invisible. The pattern was interesting, starting as beautiful green grass and red rose-like flowers at the bottom, losing the red and turning into pure green leafy vines that transformed into black spiderwebs with little half-green bats that faded into full black around the shoulders. The pants matched the pattern, red and green at the bottom, black and green in the middle, then black at the top, roses, webs, and bats. The inside lining of the jacket was almost inverse of the outside. A green base fabric with thin black, lace-like embroidery of spiderwebs with roses and bats caught in them.
“Really going with the creepy factor on these, huh?” Danny commented and Kumoko mimicked his habit of rubbing the back of his neck to avoid awkward eye-contact.
“Well, these ones aren’t that bad,” She said, handing Danny the accessories she’d made to go with the suit. There was a tie and pocket handkerchief that both had the floral rose lace-like stitching in white though.
Danny smiled and nodded, “This is – honestly probably way too fancy for Vlad’s party, so exactly what I asked for. He's not going to believe it when I show up better dressed than him - I mean, it’s just so detailed and cool.”
Kumoko blushed at his comments. “I know they’ll fit perfectly, but if you want to try them on you can.” She motioned to the back room for Danny to change in.
“I think I will!” Danny flew into the room so he wouldn’t have to navigate walking around Kumoko’s body.
It was a pretty spacious bedroom. The bed itself was massive, big enough for not just the giant spider body of Kumoko, but her and two other hers. Danny could also see into her open “closet”, but that wasn’t fully accurate. It alone was bigger than the apartment part of her lair and the bedroom part put together. Not only was it full of clothes and cosplay, wigs and accessories, jewelry and… shoes despite her lack of actual feet, but there were also several mannequins.
Danny didn’t really mind the one in there that looked like him with a white short-hair wig on it, with a black wig on a separate head on a table next to it, and its really accurate facial features with his green eyes and a pair of apparently interchangeable blue eyes next to the black wig (she did make clothes for him so she’d need to know what they’d look like on him, we can excuse all that), but he did mind when some of the other mannequins turned their heads so their eyeless and half-finished faces were staring at him.
He closed that door.
He changed into the suit quickly, but just as he was about to give up on tying the tie and folding the pocket square-thing, he noticed a desk with an open laptop. He couldn’t help himself, in a (spider)girl’s room, alone, with her private laptop unsupervised. He walked over to it and pressed the space key. The screen lit up, showing a word document, and after a quick scan, Danny was grinning like a mad man.
He burst through the door and shouted as he read the first lines of Kumoko’s work. “’My name is Hiiro Wakaba. I have long black hair and dark eyes. That guy over there with black hair and blue eyes is Danny Fenton, and it might not look it, but we’re best friends! We’re just your average high school students!’”
“No!!!!!” Kumoko cried, her hands covering her blushing face.
“’Well, we’re not really normal high school students. We’re both Vampires!’ I knew it! You were writing vampire fanfics about me!” Danny shouted and watched as Kumoko threw herself on the floor before he continued. “’Every night we have a super cool vampire transformation and we have to fight evil vampires to stop them from taking over the world!’”
“No! Please Danny, I’m sorry! I won’t do it again,” She pleaded and writhed on the floor like she was being tortured.
“Alright, but this is your last warning,” Danny said, closing her laptop. “If you don’t want me reading it, don’t write it. Or at least hide it better.”
Kumoko sat up on the floor and rubbed exaggerated tears from her eyes. “I was just having fun!”
“You can have fun, but you’re not following the biggest rule of storytelling,” Danny said, “You can’t just say we’re friends, you gotta show it!”
“I wanted to get to all the exciting stuff though!” Kumoko said and Danny rolled his eyes.
“Here, let’s watch something that knows how to tell a good story,” Danny said, going over to one of the many DVD shelves in the room. He pulled out the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood complete series limited edition box set, “How about this?”
Kumoko jumped to her feet, “YES! We can binge the whole thing in - Well, we can finish it when you bring me more cookies - I’ll make some popcorn!”

(Don't like don't read. Post hate and I'll block you)
Even more Danny Phantom headcanons and Pink Astronaut headcanons.
Tumblr media
Danny Fenton was mostly rasied by his sister Jazz. His parents barely pay attention to him. And when they do they're either overcompensating and being suffocating or they compare him to Jazz. It gets worse the older he gets, and more worse when he becomes Phantom.
Growing up Danny spent a lot of time over at Tuckers house. They've known each other since they were babies.
No point in calling the cops on the Fentons for anything because they have serious government funding. Anything that's serious gets sweeped under the rug when it involves them.
Sam moved to Amity park because she got kicked out of a boarding school for stalking(and harassing) boy who didn't like her back and was her friend. Her parents manage to pay the school off and the boys parents. This is Sam's big dark secret. She gets jealous and possessive very easily. She has issues, trouble letting go and dislikes anyone who disagrees with her.
Danny before the accident got good grades. Not as good as Jazz, but Danny is not stupid. He's good at math and science, and loves art class. Is other classes he got Bs. After the accident he's sleeping in all his classes. Skipping school. Or getting to class late. His grades of course are affected. Danny's still smart. And once a few people know. Things get better.
Danny still sees space. He may not be able to be an astronaut. But he gets to see space and the stars. Mostly because he becomes the ghost king.
Danny didn't want to be ghost king but he eventually does accept the title.
Danny sees clockwork as a father figure/grandfather figure.
Danny's relationship with Paulina is complicated at first because she only knows and loves one part of him. But she does eventually finds out and accepts all of him.
Danny when he grows up fully comes into his power and goes into his roll of ghost king. But he explores space, watches the ghost zone, protects amity park( though now as the ghost king it doesn't need as much guarding) hangs out with his family(Jazz, Ellie, Paulina, Tucker, Clockwork) later starts a life with Paulina.
Danny has always loved space and everything having to do with it. The stars, the moon, the planets the sun. Galaxies and blackholes. Rockets going into space, and the astronauts who go up there.
Paulina loves stars and meteors because of being able to make wishes on them.
Most of the (the little and not always right) knowledge Paulina has of space comes from the sailor moon anime and manga.
Sam hates sailor moon and most anime. She mostly reads a lot Stephen King. But is also a secret Twilight fan.
Sam only develops a crush on Danny after he has ghost powers/after she killed him. She likes his undead appearance and how he's cool now in her eyes. She gets a secret thrill that only she (and Tucker but she doesn't think about that) knows about Danny's full identity.
Tucker doesn't really like Sam. He especially doesn't like her after killing his best friend(twice. One by accident one on purpose).
Tucker is actually really a genius if he applied himself and wasn't just focused on tech and computers, code hacking. Smart enough to skip a couple grades even. But he could never leave his best friend behind.
Tucker owns so much tech and knows so much about it because his parents work in a computer company that creates iphones and laptops/ipads.
Tucker's favorite movie is the Matrix.
Tuckers parents spoil him a little because he's an only child and was their miracle baby. They had him a lot later in life.
Danny was the one who approached Sam and became her friend when they were all 12. He saw that she was all alone and felt bad for her.
In Danny's darkest thoughts and moments he regrets becoming friends with Sam sometimes. Especially after him and Paulina start dating.
Sam really gets bad after he and Paulina start dating. She gets moody. Possessive, and is constantly trying to sabotage their dates. She doesn't really talk to Tucker at all anymore unless they're in a goup thing with Danny, or just hanging out all together. It gets even more worse when Danny tells Paulina who he really is and it ends up working out.

Danny for Character Opinion Bingo
Tumblr media
danny's character really only exists as a vessel to tell the stories of danny phantom through. his personality is about as deep as "stand-in audience member" gets: he's a teenage boy who likes pretty girls, who stays up late playing video games, and who likes superheroes. the only "unique" aspects danny really brings are his love of space (which... is really just evidence that he's most likely an elmer self-insert, as hartman as well as several others working on the show are in the prime age for the moon landing to have been a formative experience; it's not necessarily an ideal that many children watching the show would have really cared about, but it is something the generation making it would have) and his anger issues (which are sometimes forgotten, sometimes forgiven, but altogether exist to supply plot rather than a character arc. every episode where he acts on his anger -- splitting images, 13, life lessons, ultimate enemy, fright before christmas, double cross my heart, etc-- pretends to resolve with him learning to deal with his anger, but is immediately succeeded by another episode driven by a similar conflict).
danny phantom the show works best when it can display its rouges' gallery, and while danny provides ample opportunity for that, he himself is not the main attraction. some of the more memorable episodes are ones that aren't danny centric- the fenton menace and memory blank come to mind, as does every valerie-centric episode. compare to some episodes that really should have had Danny as a secondary character but forgot to do that-- urban jungle and forever phantom would have worked better as sam focuses and amorpho focuses, but the camera being stapled to danny bogs them down. i don't think many people actually have danny himself as their favorite character
this is part of the reason i dislike fandom treatment of danny so much, ESPECIALLY things like "ghost king au". all it does is play into the danny-main-character concept, aggrandizing him for no real reason. the only time people really seem to like danny is when theyve turned him into an entirely distinct character - some creepy melting green-skinned ghost with fangs and constantly glowing eyes -- something that appeals to the person who made it but which doesn't actually give danny himself any purpose or agency within his story. I think danny on his own is servicable-- he's not my favorite, but I don't dislike him at all. I think that taking what genuinely works well as an audience proxy and turning it into something swelled up with self-importance is what leads to the deterioration of endless characters in media. actual ways to make danny interesting are ways that would involve expanding his dynamics-- how he interacts with his sister, with vlad, with other ghosts in the ghost zone (vlad specifically. i think there's some fascinating parallel potential in there), while allowing him to be an otherwise generic character.
all that said, i do like danny. i think he's neat. his character does what it needs to do in canon, and sometimes he really is unique, genuine, and passionate. i just think it's worth evaluating where the line gets drawn between "interesting character" and "interesting concept in general"

W e l p, my DP nostalgia decided to bite me enough to wanna revamp one of my oldest and dearest OCs from back in the day... Morgan Fenton~ 🥺💜 Had alot of fun sprucing some new life back into her once again, so I hope the rest of yall enjoy her too~
More info on this sweetie can be found both below and over on my DA, for those who wanna learn more about her! :3
(Bio):
As the second-born daughter to Amity Park’s hero, Danny Phantom, Morgan Fenton had alot to live up to from the moment she was born. With her birthplace being within the Ghost Zone itself, along with her natural snow white tufts of hair, almost everyone was quick to assume she'd grow up to have as many ghostly powers as both her father & older sister, Lili. Still, to her folks they did what they could to ensure Morgan would have as normal of a childhood as possible (some clumsy misadventures in her youth aside), counting the years to when her powers would spark to better defend herself…
And they continued to count… and count… and yet by the time Morgan reached puberty, no powers were spotted within her. Further investigation and some trips to Clockwork confirmed that Morgan was in fact, a normal human after all. As much as Danny and Sam (alongside Lili) tried reassuring their daughter that they love her just as she is no matter what… this kind of blow really struck a chord in the girl deep down, as she felt like everyone was counting on her to follow in her Halfa relatives’ footsteps. For the longest time, Morgan began to seclude herself away from everyone in a slump… not feeling the confidence to open up as much to her family anymore.
Further, Morgan would’ve continued to close herself off… if it weren’t for the efforts of Darryl Foley (son of Tucker and Valerie) reaching out to offer Morgan a chance to prove herself as a ghost huntress, working under Valerie’s very own hunting team established within the town. Though a little intimidated at first if she could really “handle” such a lifestyle, after many months of training, dedication and stern (but necessary) discipline by Valerie’s leadership… Morgan’s confidence began to rise better than ever.
The thrill of blasting off and wrangling ghosts with just a few gadgets and MMA moves became Morgan’s new calling, and now three years later she’s established herself well as a member of Val’s team (even given the codename “Ultra-Violet”, or “UV” for short). It’s hard to tell where Morgan’s future will grow from here, how many allies/friends she’ll make, what love life she’ll have, or what other kind of ghostly dangers she’ll stumble across next… but one thing’s for sure, its best not to underestimate a snowy cutie like her anytime soon~
(Fun Facts):
-Within her time as a ghost huntress, Morgan’s preferred weapon of choice is a staff bo (which can double as a vaulting pole when she needs to cross over floating Ghost Zone rocks in case her glider-board and/or jet-pack won’t work).
-Has a deep interest in subjects pertaining to the sci fi and supernatural, often spending many late nights watching documentaries centered around space, urban legends, and so forth. Has a soft spot for anything “oddly” cute like reptiles, aliens, and squishy creatures (such as jellyfish).
-Tends to feel the closest to her mother Sam the most in her family, as not only can they both relate on being non-powered humans (and sharing an interest in goth subculture, or in Morgan’s case “pastel” goth), but Sam’s more down-to-earth nature tends to help ease Morgan’s anxiety on certain things whenever they spend time together. As for Lili and Danny; Morgan often finds herself a bit “overwhelmed” by her sister’s bubbly energy/naivety (though she knows Lili means well at heart), whereas with Danny it’s… kinda hard for Morgan to always see eye-to-eye with him given his “famous” status in town (and sometimes he just kinda tries too much to be “cool”/relatable with her age-group). When it all comes down to it though, there’s nothing the Fenton family wouldn’t do for eachother as the spookily sweet unit they are~.
-When she’s not busy ghost hunting, Morgan can often be seen gaming in genres like RPG, racing and fighting tournaments. Recently she maaay or may not be picking up an interest in visual novels on the side (thanks to a certain “perky” school-friend of hers pushing them on her like crazy lol).
-Her favorite foods includes soft-serve ice cream, french fries, and sour gummies; whereas her favorite drinks includes a classic milkshake, grape soda and matcha lattes (mainly before a big hunting gig with how early her schedule is).
-Ever since she was a kid, Morgan’s always had a fascination for exploration and what’s “beyond” the normal human and Ghost Zones she’s seen. With the organized map she’s planned out in her room, she wishes to go through as many portals as she can to see what colorful worlds await her.
-Has a pet gecko by the name of “Zipp”, who was given as a present to her by her folks a couple years back to help lift her spirits. A very squeaky and clingy fella he is, preferring to perch on Morgan’s shoulder whenever she’s relaxing in her room from a hard day’s work. Anyone who tries to go near or “mess with” Morgan in Zipp’s eye will be given a blaring alarm squeak and a swift bite to the fingers.
