༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
Y/N looked at her phone, waiting for a message that never arrived. It was another lonely night, sitting in her bed, with her heart heavy with anguish. Her relationship with Chris started out like a fairy tale, but in recent days, everything seemed to be slowly falling apart.
She couldn't understand what was happening. There was a growing distance between them, as if Chris was moving away from her heart, plunging into an abyss of silence. The calls were becoming less and less frequent, the face-to-face moments rare and full of tension, the last one being the worst they had ever had.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
Y/N walked down the hallway of Chris's house with a hesitant but happy heart. They hadn't seen each other for days, and she had noticed how distant he was in his texts, which made her want to visit him and spend the day together, maybe understand what had happened and help him with whatever he needed.
Entering the room she had frequented too many times to even count, she found Chris sitting on his own bed, his gaze lost somewhere in the distance. She quickly opened an involuntary smile, perhaps lighting up the room - as Chris said she always did - but he barely looked at her, his lips curling in a gesture of disdain.
"Hey baby." Y/N muttered softly, trying to ignore the feeling of rejection that enveloped her almost instantly.
"Hey." The brunette replied coldly, his voice cutting like a sharp blade.
Y/N tried to make conversation, she really did. She asked about his day, about how he was feeling, but Chris's answers were short and harsh. He seemed to avoid her at all costs, as if her mere presence was a nuisance.
The pain inside Y/N grew with every second that passed in that house that until days ago had been her refuge. She felt like a stranger in her own skin, an intruder in her own relationship.
As Chris continued to ignore her, the voice in her mind began to scream, hurling cruel accusations at herself. She found herself questioning her own worth, her own ability to love and be loved.
Tears threatened to overflow her eyes, but she fought to keep them contained. She didn't want to give Chris the satisfaction of watching her break, of watching her succumb to the pain he himself inflicted on her.
When it was finally time to leave, Y/N felt relief mixed with despair. She didn't know if she could stand another second in that place, surrounded by Chris's indifference.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
Y/N really felt like she was holding on to a fragile rope, about to snap at any moment.
Meanwhile, Chris struggled through a storm of turbulent thoughts. Fear consumed him, dragging him away from the love he had found in Y/N. He found himself trapped in a cycle of self-destruction, fueled by his own insecurities and trauma. It all started when he realized that he loved her, he fell in love... Again.
Each unanswered message was a sharp knife piercing his soul, but he couldn't muster the courage to face his fears. Commitment was a monster that had haunted him since teenage days, a dark shadow that followed him even in his happiest moments.
He found himself questioning everything: his choices, his desires, even the very love he felt for Y/N, he didn't believe he had allowed himself to love her. Would it be fair to drag her into his darkness, condemning her to a life of uncertainty and pain? Or would it be nobler to walk away from her, leaving her free to find someone who could offer her the love she deserved?
The nights became endless for Chris, a constant battle between his head and his heart. He found himself lost in a labyrinth of doubts, struggling to find a way out but only sinking deeper into darkness.
Meanwhile, Y/N desperately tried to understand what was happening. They were just reaching the 3-month mark of their relationship, everything falling apart so suddenly, and so she blamed herself, questioned her own faults, trying to find an explanation for Chris's distance.
Maybe he had finally woken up and saw that she wasn't good enough for him. Maybe he had discovered he wasn't ready for a relationship. Or maybe... Maybe he had found someone else, the ideal and perfect woman.
But the answer was beyond her reach, hidden in the dark recesses of his mind.
And so, the gulf between them continued to grow, separating them more and more. It was a silent tragedy, a love lost in the shadows of doubt and fear. As Y/N struggled to stay afloat, Chris found himself diving deeper and deeper, moving away from the only ray of light in his life.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
Y/N took a deep breath before knocking on the door of the triplets' house. Nick's invitation to spend the day there seemed like a ray of hope amid the darkness that consumed her soul. She knew that seeing Chris again would be painful after their last encounter, but the simple possibility of being close to him was enough to make her accept it.
Nick greeted her with a warm smile, but Y/N could barely return it. Her heart was beating wildly as she entered the place that transformed into a stage of pain and uncertainty. Every corner of the house seemed to echo with happy memories, but now those memories were like thorns piercing her skin.
She could feel Chris' gaze on her as she reached the living room floor, but when she turned to face him, he looked away at the turned off television, acting as if she were invisible.
Anguish grew inside Y/N every time she and Nick left his room, and inevitably, as if life was playing a trick on Y/N, came face to face with Chris. She found herself struggling to find words to break the oppressive silence that hung over them both. But Chris remained distant, his eyes empty, his expression impassive, monotonously answering Nick's questions.
She felt like a ghost...
Nick noticed the tension in the air at some point and tried to intervene, but Y/N just shook her head, unable to articulate the pain that consumed her. She felt like a helpless spectator to her own tragedy.
The day dragged on slowly, every minute an unbearable torture. Y/N tried to find comfort in the memories of the happy times she had shared with Chris, but now those memories were like sharp knives, cutting deep into her soul.
Nick found himself looking at Y/N all the time with a worried expression. He knew something was wrong, but Y/N dodged the topic every time he asked, as if he was stabbing her in the chest with a dagger, deciding to just force a smile, swallowing the words burning in her throat.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
Y/N walked down the stairs with hesitant steps, determined to get a glass of water from the kitchen, but afraid of finding her own boyfriend - how ironic - without Nick by her side.
Upon reaching the room, her eyes quickly found the figure she knew more than herself, sitting in one of the chairs, his arms resting on the wooden table and his hands holding his phone tightly.
Y/N allowed herself to watch him for long seconds, before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, walking to the fridge, opening it while trying to ignore the feeling that her heart was being crushed in her chest.
"Hey." Her voice came out lower and more broken than she expected, making her wonder if he even heard it.
It's not like he'd answer anything, anyway.
She knew he would ignore her, as he had done all day, but a part of her still longed for a glimpse of the love they once shared.
As she filled her glass with water, the voice in her mind began screaming again, hurling cruel accusations against herself and her relationship.
Obviously, he's going to ignore you. He finally understands that you're just a broken piece to his perfect life.
You are not enough for him. He needs a strong, independent, and self-assured woman, not a scared little girl worn out by life like you.
Wake up, Y/N, he doesn't want you anymore.
You were a mistake.
A terrible mistake.
She found herself sinking into an abyss of self-deprecation, unable to find a way out.
It was then that something inside her broke. A wave of anger and sadness flooded her, filling her with a sudden determination. She dropped the half-full glass on the counter and turned to face Chris, her eyes brimming with pain and indignation.
"Chris." Y/N called, her voice shaking with suppressed emotion, coming out in a more vulnerable tone than she intended. "Can we talk? Please."
Chris blinked, clearly surprised by Y/N's sudden call. His eyes met hers, but he didn't say anything, just waited, as if he feared the words that might fall from his own lips.
He didn't expect her to keep trying.
Y/N felt tears burning in her eyes at the sight of him silent, expressionless, but she fought to hold her ground. She knew she needed to express the emotions that had been stifled within herself. If he didn't want her anymore, that was fine. She understood, but she needed him to formalize the situation.
"I don't know what's going on between us." She continued, clearing her throat, her voice becoming firmer as the words flowed. "But I can't live in this limbo of uncertainty anymore. I deserve better than to be ignored, Chris. We deserve better than this. I want to understand what's going on. What did I do?"
Chris remained staring at her for a few more seconds before lowering his gaze, unable to bear the intensity in Y/N's eyes. He found himself entangled in a web of regret and fear, unable to find the right words to express her feelings.
"I know I've been distant." He finally muttered, his voice thick with pain and his shoulders slumped. "And I'm sorry for that, Y/N. I just... I've been thinking, and I don't know if this is right anymore."
Chris' words cut Y/N like a sharp knife. That was it. He was going to break up with her. It would all come to an end.
She knew it.
"It's okay, it's not your fault." Y/N admitted finally. "It was... It was just a mistake... Right?"
Chris allowed his eyes to run over Y/N's weakened posture, his brow furrowed at her words.
"What was a mistake?"
"Us. We were a mistake...for you, at least." The girl sighed deeply after finishing her sentence, as if something large enough crushed her heart and lungs at the same time, hurting her and taking away all her air.
"No! What? No, honey, you were never a mistake. We... we are not a mistake, I promise you that." Chris perked up, jumping up from his seat, ready to walk over to Y/N, but his feet remained stuck against the floor, preventing him from even moving a centimeter.
"Then why, Chris? Why are you treating me like I'm a stranger? You keep pushing me away even though I try to get closer." She questioned him, thick, fat tears welling up in her eyes, running down her cheeks freely. "God, I did everything in my power to understand you, to talk to you and to make you feel welcomed, despite all the things and affirmations I needed from you too, I don't know anymore-" Her voice was already weakening when a loud and rude sob interrupted her own sentence, her right hand quickly rising towards her slightly open mouth, covering it, trying uselessly to stop the unwelcomed crying.
"Dove, please, I'm sorry for making you feel this way, I don't..." He shook his head, letting out an nervous laugh as his right hand flew to his own face, his index finger and thumb pressing the bridge of his nose, trying to stop his own tears from falling. "It was never my intention. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. I just..." The boy's tone became extremely low too quickly, Y/N needing to hold her breath to hear him clearly. "I'm just scared."
"Scared? Scared of what? Do I make you feel scared?"
Chris swallowed hard, feeling the weight of Y/N's words like an anchor in his heart. He knew he needed to be honest with her, even if it meant facing his own demons.
"Scared of commitment... of giving myself completely to someone and ending up hurting myself in the process." His voice was a fragile whisper, loaded with vulnerability. "I know it's not fair to you, Y/N. You deserve someone who can give you the world, someone who isn't afraid to love. But I don't know if I'm that someone."
Y/N's tears continued to fall, a mixture of sadness and frustration that she could barely contain. She wanted to scream, to hit Chris, to demand a clear and definitive explanation. But deep down, she understood his fears, his traumas.
"I understand you're scared, Chris." Her voice was soft now, tinged with compassion, her hands drying her tear-soaked eyelashes roughly, sniffling before speaking again. "And I don't judge you for that, I just needed you to be clear with me, that you trust me enough to talk to me when things get tough. I don't care if you have that fear, I would never invalidate your feelings." She shook her head quickly, as if she wanted to make that clear. "I just wanted to talk, to understand. You left me in the dark."
Chris pressed his lips into a thin line, his eyes brimming with emotion as his left hand went to his own hair, ruffling the strands. He knew Y/N was right.
“I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, baby, I-" The boy took a deep breath, blinking quickly, trying futilely to ward off the tears that wouldn't stop welling up in his eyes. "I tried so hard to make you hate me. It would make everything easier, right? You would get tired at some point and give up. Give up on me. But I just ended up hurting you..." Chris shook his head, biting his bottom lip hard, the metallic taste of blood flooding his mouth within seconds. "You were breaking up with me, weren't you?" His voice sounded too close to a sob, his lower lip, now hurt, trembling at the thought of no longer having her as his girl, even though that was the plan from the beginning.
"I just thought it was what you wanted. You made it so explicit, Chris. How could I think of any other alternative than that?"
"I'm not too late, am I? To solve this?" His eyes looked like they were close to popping out of his skull when he finally managed to move and was able to walk towards Y/N with quick steps, grabbing her hands pleadingly. "I want to solve this... I'm sorry for what I've put you through these last few days, and I know that just saying sorry won't erase everything that I done, but I'll take care of it. I will take care of you. Please, dove."
"I need to ask you one thing first, Chris. Are you ready to stay in this relationship? I can help you and understand you, but there's no point in trying if you don't genuinely feel ready for this." Y/N explained sincerely, her heart aching with the contact of his skin against her own. She missed his touch so much.
"I do, I want you, only you, all of you, always! Please... please, babe, I-I know that I don't deserve it, but please give me a chance to make this right, to do this properly. Give me the chance to love you the way you deserve." Chris begged, squeezing his girlfriend's fingers between his own, involuntarily pulling her closer. "I want to try again, but properly this time. I want to fight my fears, my demons. And I want to do it with you by my side. Everything seemed so real now. Seeing you trying to break up with me made me realize that I can't see myself without you, I can't."
Y/N kept her eyes fixed on his for long seconds, searching for any trace of doubt, hesitation or lie on his face red and wet with tears, but she could only find a strong mix of hope and love.
She knew the road ahead would be difficult, full of challenges and uncertainty. But for the first time in a long time, she felt a spark of hope light up.
"Okay."
"Yeah? Really?" A low sob escaped Chris's mouth, fat tears rolling down his rosy cheek from the strong emotions in a short space of time, his heart racing strongly against his chest.
"Yeah. I don't want to lose you, so let's do this together." She whispered.
The boy let out a sigh of relief through tears, a small smile taking over his lips in seconds, his hands working to pull hers closer, consequently bringing her body close to his, engulfing her into a tight hug.
"I'm gonna do this right this time."
And she believed him.

warnings: Jareth jumpscares the reader a bit, Hoggle is a bit crass, reader kind of throws themself at Jareth, a few double intendres but they are mentioned in the movie so idk
AN: Happy Valentine's Day! My annual Labyrinth story is here!
"Run the labyrinth he said. 13 hours he said." I muttered to myself as I trudged along through the Goblin City. So far, none of the goblins had come after us. Hoggle trailed behind me, rubbing his hands. I still held his precious jewels but I doubt he cared about them anymore. "What are you muttering about back there Hoggle?" I looked over my shoulder at him, fed up with the noise he was making. Not knowing if the rest of the goblins would jump out because of it had set me on edge.
"What are you going to do if you get to the castle?" He finally asked. I shrugged. "I mean you're leaving right?" I nodded as he sped up to walk alongside me. "But I thought you wanted to do Jareth." I stumbled and Hoggle looked at me, hands out to try to catch me.
"What?!" I exclaimed. Hoggle was wringing his hands again. "Who said anything about me wanting to do Jareth?"
"I just thought..." He trailed off. "The way the two of you interact with each other..." I sighed and gazed up at the castle.
"Hoggle, it wouldn't work. He belongs here in the Goblin City. I have to go back. I should never have said that to my friend." I shook my head, clearing it and banishing all thoughts of the Goblin King out of my head.
"He will probably offer you a way to stay..." Hoggle murmured. "If he did, would you take it?" I shrugged.
"As long as my friend was safe and I wouldn't get turned into a goblin, maybe." My mind was racing. If I could stay, would I? Would I want to be bound to the Goblin King forever? Did I really want to stay? Shaking my head again, I focused on the task at hand. We were at the steps of the castle. "Hoggle, whatever comes next, I have to do it myself right?" He nodded. "Here. Thank you for coming with me." I tossed his jewels back to him.
"You didn't have to do that." He said in surprise. Smiling sadly at him, I started to climb the stairs. I looked back only once to see Hoggle wave at me before turning around and disappearing into the city. Climbing the stairs, I pushed the doors open and entered the empty throne room. Looking around, I saw the clock. Sighing in relief, I looked around for the doorway I knew to be there. There were three doorways behind the throne. Looking from one to the other, I started to worry. I still had time if I took the wrong door but I would have to find my way back to this room if I wanted to preserve that time.
"Think (Y/N). Think." I circled around the throne and stared at the doors. "Which one did Sarah take. Which one leads to the David Bowie impersonator." I closed my eyes and tried to visualize the scene from the movie. "She comes in and it's..." I turned slightly and opened my eyes. The doorway matched what I remembered from the film. "There." Running through, I took in the new maze. Smiling to myself, I walked to the edge and looked out of the staircase world.
"(Y/N)!" My friend called out for me. I waved down to them and took a deep breath, preparing to jump down the center.
"Expecting a song?" The voice made me jump and I turned around, putting some distance between myself and the edge. Jareth was leaning against the wall, playing with a crystal. "You won't get one." I smiled softly at him and shook my head.
"Didn't think I would." I looked over my shoulder and took a step back. I looked back at Jareth as he pushed off the wall. "Besides, you wouldn't get into it too much. I know what to do." He smirked and walked right up to me. We were standing nose to nose when he put his hand on my shoulder.
"Then do it." He whispered before giving me a gentle push. I stepped off at the same time and fell. A new platform materialized under me and I landed carefully, my friend having disappeared again. Jareth entered from a new doorway. "I assume you know what's coming." I nodded and Jareth rolled his eyes. "Then formalities and such." He waved his hand and I tried to stifle my laugh. It brought a smile to his face. "(Y/N)," my breath hitched as he said my name. Maybe Hoggle was right. "beware. I have been generous, up until now and I can be cruel."
"Generous?" I tried to fight the smile that was growing. "What have you done that's generous?" Jareth smirked at me, clearly seeing how amusing I found all of this.
"Everything." There was something about his tone that made me question all of my life's choices until that point. "Everything that you wanted I have done. You asked that your friend be taken. I took them. You cowered before me. I was frightening. I have reordered time, I have turned the world upside down, and I have done it all for you. I'm exhausted from living up to your expectations of me." He circled me. All I could do was watch him. Doubt was growing in me. Doubt that I could say the words. Doubt that going back was what I really wanted. Doubt that I could leave him behind. Doubt I could forget about him. "Isn't that generous?" His gaze softened as he came to a stop in front of me.
"I-I..." I looked around him, desperate not to look him in the eye. "Through dangers untold..." I fought to find something in me that wanted to go back. Something to focus on so I didn't have to make that choice while looking at him. "Dangers untold and hardships...." Jareth watched me, regarding me kindly and curiously. When it was clear I wasn't going to recite my part, he took control.
"Stop. Wait." He held up a crystal, taking a step closer to me. "Look (Y/N). Look at what I'm offering you." His voice had taken on a soft quality. When he didn't continue, I looked away from the crystal, meeting his eyes.
"My dreams." I whispered out. He shook his head but gave me a chance to continue. But I didn't take it.
"I ask for so little." Jareth took another step towards me. "Just let me rule you and you can have everything that you want." He had lowered the crystal, nearly letting it drop as his other hand reached out and gently took mine. His thumb ran over my knuckles, waiting for me to make a decision. I shook my head, the thoughts running rampant as I tried to find any reason to go. "Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave." Jareth whispered, gently pulling me closer to him. "The choice is yours. I've done all I must." Slowly reaching up, I cupped his cheek.
"My friend will return?" He nodded, gently leaning into my touch. "And I won't become a goblin?" He shook his head with an amused smile.
"Where would you get an idea like that?" He chuckled. "Your friend will return to your world. If you choose to stay, you will remain as you are. With me. If that is what you so choose." Jareth watched me carefully. Letting go of his hand, I reached out for the crystal. "You need to be sure." He warned. I nodded.
"I'm sure." I touched the crystal just as Jareth leaned forward and kissed me. The world around us shimmered as we were returned to the throne room. Jareth pulled away, smiling softly at me. I looked around the room, surprised by the subtle use of magic. A second throne had appeared next to the first.
"For you." He whispered as he watched me take my seat.

i wanna know more about the jerries/jeris
do you want to know the most horrific thing about them?
the lords did nothing to make them the way they are.
yes, the jerry jr was turned into the axeman because of the witchwood, which does what it does because of the lords, but everything leading up to that is just human nature. i see the "girl jeri is nibbly" or "they were influenced by a lord to do the thngs they do" and i need people to understand that that's just. not true. they're just like that. they were taught to be like that by their parents and, more accurately, their church. it's horrifyingly accurate how religion has shaped them into non-functional human beings, who would rather potentially lose their child to the many, many dangers of the literal woods than admit that they had sex outside of marriage.
it's only because it's hatchetfield that jerry jr grew the way he did. there was no lord's intervention in their decision to keep the baby, or to drop out of school to care for him, or to keep him seperated from any other people, or to revolve their lives around the idea that they'd committed a sin and needed to pay by pushing celibacy rather than. i don't know. properly raising their child. it was the way they were taught. the toxic pushing of overexaggerated christian ideals is what molded them. can you imagine being in their place? being a scared teenager and knowing that if you told any of the people you care about most your secret that they would shun you and disown you?
the only people they felt any kind of safe around were each other; of course they're going to be codependent. and even then, they're disgusted by each other for leading them to sin. they're stuck together unwillingly, because without the other, they're alone.

How do you think Hound would react to a reader that basically treats them like a dog or puppy? Like giving them treats when they sit or roll over, or giving them head pats, or giving them face kissies while telling them how cute they are or even telling them how good of a boy (gender neutral) they are.
The Maunder Labyrinth Hound. The one with the muzzle you are not allowed to take off - gotcha, just had to make sure.
Hound would be very... confused. It's a bit of a sore area as they'd prefer to be treated more like a person if they have to interact, but any positive attention is good attention. They wouldn't go so far as to roll over, but they'd shake your hand if you asked. They'd consider you a liar if you called them cute as they're far from it and normally push you away if you try to kiss due to the whole being a people eating dog-human thing with an uncontrollable appetite, but you persisted they'd give in but be so confused as to why someone would give them real love.
If they've eaten at least ten minutes before they'll remove their mask and sneak a kiss somewhere inconspicuous like your shoulder and deny it ever happening. When they silently lay their head in your lap they're asking for more head pats, but will neither confirm or deny their needs. Giant puppy doesn't react well to affection but they need it about as much as the corpses littered around the mansion.

(I know it's called a "crop" or whatever but I call it a "switch" so 🤭🤭🤭)
You were on your knees before the Goblin King.
He tilted his head, a cheeky smirk on his face. Jareth kneeled down on one knee to get on your level. "Oh, how darling you look," he taunted. He always taunted you- lovingly, of course, Jareth wouldn't ever be anything but adoring towards you, albeit his teasing. Giving a playful jab was one of his many ways of showing his fondness (infatuation) with you.
His elbow rested atop his knee, and he leaned in, his lips about an inch and a half from yours. Jareth brought his switch to your right cheek, slowly turning your head away as though getting a good look at you. The switch grazed down your cheek and pressed on the soft underside of your chin, lifting your head to look him in the eyes.
"What a stunning creature you are."

Really don't like what Goblin Slayer did to pop culture goblins. I liked it better when their hat as a stock fantasy species was being Gremlin knockoffs instead of... well... instead of what they are in Goblin Slayer.

Castor and Pollux are actually so sad.
So in the riordanverse, Castor and Pollux are Dionysus’s twin sons.
In mythology, Castor and Pollux were the twin (half and full) brothers of Helen of Troy (and Clytemnestra). Zeus had turned into a swan and uhh… slept with their mother, Leda, the Queen of Sparta, who had also slept with her husband, Tyndareus, the King of Sparta, so the following quadruplets that were born had different fathers. Castor and Clytemnestra were the children of Leda and Tyndareus, and Helen and Pollux were children of Leda and Zeus. Castor and Pollux were identical twins despite having different fathers, and they were inseparable and became known as the Dioscuri.
Long story short, Castor ends up being killed and Pollux is so distraught that he asks Zeus to kill him so that he could be with his brother, or he asks Zeus to bring Castor back to life (the sources in my admittedly brief research varied between the two). In the end, Zeus agrees to split Pollux’s immortality between the two, allowing them to be together in the sky as the constellation Gemini for half of the year, and reside in the Underworld for the other half. They are the Gemini twins.
So, we already know that Rick Riordan likes to make parallels to different Greek Myths with his characters (ex: Clarisse and Silena paralleling Achilles and Patroclus), and this is another sad instance. He gave Dionysus, the son of Zeus, twin sons named Castor and Pollux, and then killed Castor in the Battle of the Labyrinth.
I just wish we got to see more of Pollux’s grief in the aftermath. We get a little bit, when right before they burn the shrouds Pollux goes up to say a few words but can't, but I kind of wish we got to see some of the heartbreaking devotion in Pollux that was in his mythological counterpart.
Anyway, Rick was really out there writing tragedy into even the background characters that had only been mentioned maybe two or three times before.

the labyrinth as defined by the american heritage dictionary of the english language is “the maze in which the minotaur was confined”. minotaur, as defined by wikipedia, is the unnatural offspring of a woman and a beast. among other things.
a demigod is the unnatural offspring of a mortal and a god. of all the profane and blasphemous things you could do, knocking up yours or someone else’s creation is up there. therefore if one is to be born, it must be killed or otherwise punished. yes, we’ve established all of this.
cinder is the child of daksari. not profane or blasphemous enough to have a child with a mortal, but enough to get her sorry ass imprisoned under miles and miles of what was just begging to be called a labyrinth. the only thing it was missing was the minotaur, of course. so when the youngest child of cadaver had a rather surprising run in with a very godless mortal on the moon of cassandra…. it all seems rather planned out, doesnt it? i cant help myself when it comes to references to mythology and video games.
a labyrinth and its minotaur.
what a terrible fate

the underwater kiss continued
a/n: a part 2 to the percabeth kiss annabeths pov (part one here). it’s what i think happened after percy and annabeth were thrown in to the lake and you don’t need to read the other part for it to make sense. also this was not proofread
warnings: kissing, cursing, spoilers (kinda),
annabeth’s pov:
percy swam towards me and slowly wrapped his arms around my waist as i put my hands on his chest. we looked into each others eyes and i felt the redness on my face start to fade because it was just the two of us.
“is it ok if i uh-” he stuttered cutely. i raised my eyebrow, knowing what he was trying to say. “i mean can i- um-” he looked away from me, now blushing a deep crimson.
“shut up seaweed brain” i muttered quietly, but loud enough that i knew he heard me. i leaned up, gently pushing my lips onto his.
he pulled me closer while biting down on my bottom lip. i opened my mouth, remembering what i had read about. after what felt like forever, i finally felt his tongue. for the first time, i felt what it was like to have your breath mingle with someone else’s. to have your teeth bump into someone else’s. to have your tongue touch someone else’s. and let me just say, it felt amazing. but i didn’t feel uncomfortable or anything like that. if it was anyone else, i think i would’ve, but it wasn’t some random person. it was percy, my best friend, my seaweed brain.
we pulled away, gasping for air after our breathtaking kiss. “i know it’s kinda soon to ask,” percy started with. i met his eyes to let him know i was listening. “but, would you be my uh- my girlfriend?” “how about you take me on a date first, seaweed brain” i said, my hands playing with his hair. “oh shit, sorry, yeah you’re right, i’m sorry i-” he started to speak quickly, turning a deep red. “perce, i’m just kidding. of course i’ll be your girlfriend.” i said gently and saw him look up from the floor, smiling at me bigger than i’ve ever seen before.
we leaned in at the same time until our lips crashed together again. this time, with much more passion than before.
because percy is the son of poseidon and we had an air bubble, we definitely took our time down there. and it was pretty much the best underwater kiss(es) of all time.

I just think Hunter was obsessed with Willow and didn't even know it during the period from any sport in a storm to labyrinth runners. They maybe don't talk as often as they could, they're both busy and have conflicting schedules, so when they do talk, Hunter absorbs everything she says.
After roughly 3 weeks of texting (hexting? I feel like the kids would call it hexting), He knows that her favorite colour is orange, she likes her tea with extra milk and a bit of honey during winter, she likes working out to the noisiest angriest music in her playlist, her dad Gilbert is a construction witch who specialises in pottery, she used to listen to breakup songs and think about her childhood best friend (Hunter doesn't know it's Amity) and she actually has a mild pollen allergy despite being a plant witch and has to take potions for it.
He casually drops all this info piece by piece during their stay in the human realm and willows like. Well I can't not marry him. It'll have to be a winter or fall wedding to account for her allergies </3

Person A: “Wait, how the hell are we back at the beginning again?!”
Person B: “That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you for the past half hour! This whole damn place just loops indefinitely! Why the fuck do you think we were having so much trouble escaping in the first place?!”

Ooh it’s been far too long since I’ve written for Jareth, and this idea is so sweet and romantic!! Thank you nonnie :)

‘Now darling, even you know by now that your hand goes on my waist.’
You try to stifle your laugh, instead pressing your growing smile against the itchy notched lapel of his jacket. Jareth’s warmth envelops you immediately, helped on by the tickle of his fringes as they brush over the glowing curve of your cheek. It’s a soothing, tender kind of gush that sweeps through your muscles as you feel his hand reposition its grip, safe within the knowledge that no matter how clunkily you stepped on the tips of his toes and scuffed the edges of his boots, he would hold you tightly against his chest and never let go.
You slide your hand back up to the rather tense muscle of his waist with a teasing sigh, enjoying the way the domineering sovereign before you is wrought with a rack of shivers from your sole touch alone. He groans as your fingers trace and scratch around the joint, his eyes rolling back slightly in his head as you take full advantage of his obviously flustering state.
‘Now Jareth, do I hold my arm up like this?’, you take a step back from him and ostentatiously draw your elbow away from his side and swing it up in the air, dragging his own arm along with it. ‘Or does it come round here...hmm, in this sort of position?’ You drop his fingertips that were gently resting on top of your own and swing forward, looping your arm around the Goblin King’s neck. His eyes widen in a fervent kind of shock as your palm flattens against the back of his neck and pulls the bewildered man down to reach your lips.
Once he regains his composure and realises there’s nothing more delightful in this moment than relishing in the feeling of kissing the love of his life back, he tips one leather gloved finger under your chin and tilts you further up to meet him. With pliant lips, he slowly draws away and presses a last, lingering kiss against your top lip; despite the fact that you were the one to initiate the peck, you were also the one left breathless. Contently, he closes his eyes for a moment before sighing in bliss and smirking once again.
‘Now now, my diamond streaked star, if you keep teasing me so I shall have to reprimand you for such insolence. Perhaps I shall tie your hand to mine so you can never escape’, he tenderly takes your right wrist and drags the back of your hand down the side of his cheek. As he does so, he grips you back to him again. Without breaking the passionate eye contact that blazes a crimson shrine, a travailing opal blossoming in the minute space between your bodies, he begins the move the two of you a step backwards.
‘Or maybe even that wouldn’t be enough.’ He reaches an arm up, twirling you around until you’re gliding like a wound up music box figurine: porcelain, fated, pure perfection. His boot knocks against your own shoe, turning it to the side as he lodges his knee in-between your own; Jareth is almost carrying you at this point, guiding your feet backwards and to the left, whizzing over the gleaming marble stained tiles of the looming hall.
‘Perhaps, what is needed to succinctly convey the message, would be to capture your heart and keep it safely locked within mine forever.’ Before you can even take a breath, his hand has wound around the small of your back and he’s knocking you backwards. The gentle-stricken winged cherubs that are moulded to the corners of the gold crested ceiling are fleeting as they pass by your eyes; the crystal encrusted chandelier that beams haloes of light past your vision is soon replaced by the shimmering blue of the violet banked sky. The glory of the starlight that swirls pockets of alight silver over the upside-down edge of the outer stone balcony is only seconded by the feeling of Jareth leaning over you.
The soft groan that escapes your mouth elicits an amused hum from the man, who nuzzles his nose against yours like the cat who got the cream. While his left hand is busy holding your hips flush against his midriff, his right busies itself with running down your side slowly, setting every nerve in its path alight with anticipation. Eventually, after far too long a wait, your closed eyes grimace in bliss as you feel his lips brush feather soft, licking against the pulse point on your neck.
‘After all, it’s not so long at all, if only you can live without it’, he murmurs between nibbles against the curve of your shoulder. ‘For I know I could not. If you took your heart away from me, you would cause me to fall into ruination.’
This was going to be a long night indeed.
