team captain
Tumblr media
bf!nishimura. 1k words. so flufffffffy. [note]: this can be read alone or as apart of my badboy!niki series drabbles. warning, it’s so cringey and cute i’m literally kicking my feet lmao
“oh my god look how brown it’s getting!” you cheer more to yourself than anyone, the sight of your marshmallow changing colour over the fire exciting you a little too much.
after getting it perfect, you finally look up to realise that everyone who was sitting around the bonfire before... was now gone. how or when, you’re not even sure, but the loud chatting and laughter coming from inside the house tells you that they’re all inside now.
shrugging, you get up from your squatting position and was about to head inside too when you notice niki, sitting in his chair right behind you with the cutest grin on his face. the boy had been so quiet the entire time that you didn’t even know he was there.
you’re so startled by his appearance that you almost fall backwards but luckily for you, your team captain boyfriend was quick to grab your arm, pulling you to him. specifically, onto his lap. you’re now seated across his lap, his arms around your waist to hold you, his face just a breath away from yours.
gulp.
the boy was truly the most handsomest you’ve ever seen. no matter how many times you see him, his face still manages to surprise you, just like the very first time. it’s something you’ll never admit to him though, not when his head was already so big.
“i’m starting to think you’re clumsy on purpose, just so i can save you,” he rolls his eyes at you, “because i don’t know anyone as clumsy as you.”
“w- well you should’ve said something! you scared me!”
“right. as if you didn’t sense me staring at you the entire time?”
“you-” you pause, brows raising at the realisation of his words, “... why were you staring at me the entire time nishimura? creep!”
instead of an insulting response like you had fully expected from him, the boy stays completely silent. his eyes however, drops down to your lips, gazing at it for a few moments. you’re unsure of what his intentions were but it was making you nervous either way.
“what? can’t i stare at my girlfriend?”
gulp.
“well- well yeah but! but! but make some noise next time-”
to your surprise, niki leans in without warning, kissing you and shutting you up. seeing you so startled yet again, the boy immediately breaks into laughter like it was he funniest thing to him.
“you don’t understand how pretty you are, miss class president,” he says with a smile, one so sweet you swore your heart just melted over it, “you’d be staring at you too if you were me.”
you’ve been together for a few months now and although you’ve had your fair share of sweet moments, this time topped it all. his gaze, his smile, his words, all seemed so genuine. like he meant every single thing.
everyone knew how niki was, someone so tsundere, so unbothered, so unserious, so seeing him this way had your emotions and thoughts going wild.
it had you thinking if this could really last, if it could really be more than just a stupid high school relationship.
it had you thinking about your future after high school, whether you and him could really make it work. you haven’t brought up the topic with him, but it has surely been on your mind more with graduation quickly approaching.
“it better be me you’re thinking of right now in this head of yours,” he playfully knocks into your head, bringing you out of your deep thoughts, “or else you have no reason to be smiling like that.”
“unfortunately... it always is. you and your... big mouth!”
the face he makes is one of anger, confusion and surprise, all in one. the view instantly had you in giggles, so much so that you almost fall off his lap. but the boy doesn’t let you have your moment for too long, his fingers at your waist, ready to do what they do best.
“niki- no- no- ahhh!”
you were giggling again, only this time it was caused by niki nishimura tickling your sides. you wanted to run away from the boy, but how could you when you’re trapped in his hold, on his lap. there was literally no escape!
“ni- nish- nishimura! stop! please!”
the boy really does do as asked, stopping his fingers and quickly helping you fix your creased up top. he’s also laughing, eyes in complete moon shapes at your struggles, and although you want to smack him, you end up chuckling as well.
“so... can i kiss you now with my big mouth or?”
“since when do you even ask?” you playfully roll your eyes, “what’s with you today? you’re being a bit weird. more so than usual.”
“ha funny,” the boy mocks you, his fingers reaching up to flick your forehead, “maybe i just realised how much i actually like you.”
you could feel your cheeks immediately heating up, hands a little clammy from his sudden confession, but it’s his gaze that catches you off guard. the way they’re looking directly into yours, with so much hope, so much adoration. you have no idea how to respond to him but you do know that your heart is currently going crazy in your chest.
“you just realised? pfffft,” you manage to make a joke, using it to hide away your current urge of wanting to scream and kick your feet at how cute he looked.
“yeah... and it’s crazy how much i actually do.”
now it was your turn to go quiet, no longer laughing or making jokes. without thought, you lean in and kiss the boy. softly and sweetly.
niki’s arms around you tighten as yours rest on his chest, the two of you enjoying the moment in silence. it’s crazy when you realise how your relationship with him used to be like, full of screaming and fighting every single day.
it was too early to claim you l-word the tall boy but judging from how you were currently feeling, you’re sure you’re almost there.
“nishimura-”
“OH MY GOD! NOT THE MARSHMALLOW! what did the marshmallow do to you guys?!” both you and niki turn towards the dramatic voice, just to see taki and maki both staring at the ground where you had dropped your much forgotten marshmallow earlier.
“i dropped it by accident-”
“because you guys were busy making out??” maki chimes in, his expression so sad you’d think something actually happened, “don’t you guys do that enough?? i saw you two in the lockerroom yesterday too!”
“it’s like that’s all you guys do. our captain is such a simp-”
the two boys immediately stop talking once they notice the change in niki’s face, one so grim, so irritated. similar to the one he usually had during practice... before a finals game.
even you were scared of that face, let alone the boys on the team.
“i’ll be right back baby,” the team captain says calmly while helping you to stand up. he pats the back of your head before turning to face the two screaming boys who were already sprinting around the yard.
you can’t help but giggle at the sight, a memory you’ll surely hold onto for a very long time. although your future with niki remains unclear, you realise that what mattered more was now, in this very moment.
and in this very moment, you were happy.
end.

Tumblr media
– random flashback |. 📍 California
The waitress arrives, sets down all of our orders and disappears.
I took out my fork as I swirled it in my pasta
“Carbonara?”  I offered him before eating it.
Sunghoon shakes his head
“Because it’s dairy?”
“No… I just prefer pesto”
“Hmm. Impressive” “Very.....you” I say
A distinct ringing sound emanating from his pocket.  As the phone rings a few more times before Sunghoon finally takes it out of his pocket and looks at the screen
“One second”  he roses from his seat
I watched him walked away, his phone pressed to his ear.
I looked at him through the window while I was sipping my tea.
After a while the door bell rings, he came back again putting his phone to the pocket of his jacket.
“So”, “How was your day?” He questions as he sits on the table, pouring water to his cup
“Lame”
“Uhm” he hesitates to say
“my mom's gonna have a birthday party”  he says out of nowhere, avoids looking at me while taking the silver utensils on the clothed table. "I planned it"
“I invited a lot of guests.” “All of my relatives and cousins know about it” He stops speed talking as he takes his first bite of steak.
“And you” he weakly points me with his fork.
I didn’t say anything as I take another sip of my tea
“Her birthday actually was yesterday, nothing so sleek about it and everyone was busy”
“It will be held on Friday...in Korea” he added
“That’s nice”
“So…. did you greet her?”
“No..” I say
“Why not?”
“I have been busy with stuffs”
“Like what?”
I did not know what to say.
"Look, I booked a flight for us" He broke the silence with hands clenched together
I take another sip of my tea
He sighs and leans into the table his voice was very low.
“Ann, I understand that this entire situation has been extremely difficult for you. It has been for me too. I know that you have been trying to avoid my mom, but I want to remind you that avoiding her forever may not be the best solution.
Perhaps we can work together to find a way to face her again and move forward in a positive direction. What do you think?"
He whispered “Please just go for me" he held your hand as he rubs his thumb through your fingers.
“Please.”
Current time . the continuation of part 1
-exact 5 minutes after emergency left
Sunghoon's
His eyes were glued to the pages of a book that he had abandoned for weeks.
Sitting on the couch in the same room, while you were in bed. The silk pajamas draped his body comfortably as he sat partially facing the bed you were lying on.
The soft rustling of the pages turning was the only sound that filled the room
| Sunghoon had always remained true to his passion for reading books. His love for literature dates to when he was just five years old. On his birthday, his father gifted him a classic Spiderman comic. Since that fateful day, he has devoured countless books of all genres, from classic literature to modern-day thrillers. |
After a moment, he closed the book and placed it carefully on the see-through glass table in front of him. He leaned back on the couch, his head supported by the soft cushion, and looked up at the ceiling.
He reached up to his face and removed the eyeglasses he had been wearing to help him read the book. The dim light in the room provided by the single lamp on the desk beside the bed had made it necessary for him to wear them while reading.
As he rubs his eyes, his phone gets a ring from someone.
Mom
His eyes showed a bit of frustration as he hesitates to accept the call. But eventually does.
“Hi son.” A female voice muttered through the call.
“Good evening mom” he replies.
“How are you?” “How’s business?”
“Im Good” “Business? its he-“
“Uhm" – with a hinge of hesitation.
"If you are currently facing anything, please know that I am here to help you in any way possible. I am right beside you to offer my support, okay?"
The female voice assured him in a serious tone completely ignoring the fact she cut him off.
"At the moment, there is nothing that is causing me any trouble or concern mom."
“oh... dont be so gullible” His mom says.
"I appreciate your kind gesture of checking in on me. It's reassuring to know that you care."   -   The silence between them dissipated for a while.
“Well, I guess if there's nothing to state about anything, I will be going”,
the female mutters, closing the gap of silence in the call.
 "Goodnight"
she added as the call ended.
He runs his fingers through his hair as he deeply sighs. the head maid must had informed his mom about the state of the house and all the things that had been happening inside of it every day. All the things that were meant to be a secret, especially anything that revolves at the happenings in the house were all revealed to his arrogant mother. "
He couldn't help but wonder what else his mother knew and what her intentions were. He decided to step outside to clear his head. The swimming pool area was the perfect spot, with its beautiful bushes of flowers and serene atmosphere. As he took a deep breath, he sits frantically at the side of the pool lounger, tapping the fine fabricated mattress hovering it.
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a single cigarette, carefully placing it between his lips. With a flick of his lighter, a small flame appears, and he brings the flame to the end of the cigarette, inhaling deeply as it ignites.
You thought he promised to you that he’ll never engage in smoking again?? No. It seems that the weight of his problems and struggles had become too much to bear, causing him to break that promise.
. 01/01 00:05 AM
“Hoon are you there?”
Some laughter in the background and loud fireworks.
“I’m so sorry, I completely forgot. But I’m leaving now! Okay? Just wait there! Should only take me thirty minutes. I know, I feel really bad. Please don’t be mad. Call me back, okay?
As he hit the play button for the umpteenth time, a smile slowly spread across my face.
The old voicemail you left him on New Year's was like a time capsule, transporting him back to his days as a college student in bustling New York City.
How he remembered how much he had struggled studying with the constant, thunderous sounds of fireworks, which had filled him with a sense of unease The night progresses, the wind outside grew stronger and more forceful. Sunghoon could feel the gusts of wind through the bushes, causing it to billow fiercely.
The room was just as spacious as the one you both shared, but it was in a much better condition. The other bedroom would be undergoing maintenance tomorrow due to the extensive damage caused by the glass shatters on the floor and the tears on the wall
As he finishes his regular night routine he decided to just snooze it off. He carefully adjusted the blanket to cover you up entirely as he gently moved your hair strands aside that covered your face. Planting a soft kiss in your cheek before closing the lamp
morning - ur pov
As I woke up from the rays of sun hitting my eyes, I couldn’t help but feel a hinge of headache as I stood up from the bed. I looked around, everything seemed so foreign and unfamiliar.
I raised my hand to my head and began to scratch my scalp. I let out a drawn-out yawn. Standing about two meters away from the door, I suddenly heard a faint, muffled sound. It was difficult to make out at first, but as the voice grew closer, the words became clearer.
In a black suit and his phone pressed to his ear. And there he was, standing right in front of you.  As he notices me wide awake, his expression mirrored your own shock and surprise. A deafening silence filled the room as he stared at you, unsure of what to say or do.
After a moment, he politely excused himself from the call, putting it on hold
"Good morning." I say
Sunghoon smiled and nodded in response. There was some awkward silence in the room "Well…...I think you still hate me"  Sunghoon says as he starts finding something in one of the wooden drawers beside the door.
He let out a deep sigh and looked at me with a pout as he kissed my forehead, placing both hands on my shoulders. "I'm so sorry, darling," he said, trying to explain himself. - "Things have been hectic ever since I left for my business trip, and I haven't had a chance to reach out to anyone since that day." As he spoke, he began planting hundreds of kisses on my face.
Does he think I can forgive him easily? - "I have to go work again..” "I wont leave you for another 2 weeks". he said, brushing his hand through my cheeks. "I don't want to see you angry."
I watched as he leaned in to peck my lips, a smile creeping onto his face.  He grabbed his jacket and car keys from the glass table and kissed me one last time before heading towards the door. "I love you so so much," he said with a smile as he waved goodbye against the door.
Despite his words, I couldn't shake off the feeling of anger towards him.
I stood on the balcony, only seconds after he had left the room.I watched as he made his way to the car, his jacket draped over his left arm and car keys in his right hand. Just before he got into the car, his gaze locked onto mine. "I promise I'll make it up to you," he shouted over the distance, blowing me a kiss. - - -
During that day, he went back to the house a with shopping bags intended to be  as an apology gift
He squats to my level as he laces my hand with his
" I want to apologize... "
" I want to apologize for not being there for you throughout your struggles.. Two weeks may seem like a short period of time, but it could have been an eternity for you.
My absence may have caused you some type of agony???, I am truly sorry. I hope that you can forgive me"
As he finished speaking, he looked into the my eyes and kissed my hand.
I stared back at him for a while, trying to see whether he was truly remorseful. After a moment of silence, I cling closer to him without saying a word. He pats my back.
“The night before your business trip” “You still remember it. Right?”  I say
He sighs  “What were you scared of?”  “I couldn’t seem to ponder it the whole conversation”
“Yeah. Forget about that” shrugging it off
why? just why did I feel like I had to be on guard on everything?
Latter that evening I received a message notification
message:
Don’t you wanna let him know about it?  You can’t hide it forever.
" Hoon, Did you get any certain messages or emails today? " I say as he happened to enter the room
Of course
Did you happen to see it?
"Just event invitations and messages from Cass and my mom.  What about it?" as he looks into the wooden drawers.
Nothing. I sighed in relief
At this moment, it doesn't seem appropriate for him or even everyone to be informed about it. It is likely that he will discover it in due course??, but currently, I feel like the timing isn't right. I'll just hide it?
I don't know.
to be continued
authors note (DONT COME FOR ME YALL :) )
Hi there! I just wanted to address something with you guys....
I know that some of you might be wondering why did it take me so long to post the part 2 of CRA , and I wanted to clarify that it's not because I'm slacking off or anything like that. In fact, I'm really busy at the moment with other things going on in my life. I just wanted to let you know that even though it might take me a bit longer to post this series from time to time, that doesn't mean that I'm going to stop altogether or that I won't be back. I appreciate your support and understanding during this busy period, and I hope to be able to share more with you soon!

kitchen fight
pairing: heeseung x fem!reader
genre: friends to lovers, fluff
warnings: slight mention of stress, mentions of food, no use of y/n (decided to try it, but probably will go back to third person)
in which reader can't sleep and decides to bake a cake, getting some unexpected (but not unwanted) company in the middle of it.
a/n: god it's been a while lmao
it was late at night and you were alone at home, finding it impossibly hard to fall asleep, your mind clouded with thoughts that had been stressing you out for a while. since you knew you weren't going to bed anytime soon, you decided to bake a chocolate cake.
was it 4am? yes. did you care? no.
after you checked if you had the ingredients to make the dessert, you started preparing them all on top of the kitchen counter. as you put down the flour container, you heard the doorbell ring, getting slightly startled by the sudden noise in the middle of the silence that you found yourself in moments before.
you cautiously walked to the door and checked through the peephole, just to be safe. what you saw forced a giggle out of you, since it was heeseung standing in front of the door, taking his mask off and making a funny face. you then opened the door, a smile still on your face from the stunt he had pulled. “what are you doing here at this hour, seung?” you asked, using the nickname that he only allowed you to say.
“well,” he answered. “you told me an hour ago that you couldn’t sleep, so i decided to come here and give you some company.”
you frowned. “aren’t you sleepy, though?”
the older looked at her and chuckled. “do you think i’d be here if i was?”
“i don’t know, heeseung, you sometimes make decisions without processing them beforehand,” you said.
“trust me,” he concluded. “i don’t have an ounce of tiredness in my body,” that was a lie, but you didn’t have to know. heeseung wanted to spend time with you after a while of not hanging out, so if it meant that he wasn’t sleeping that night, then he would gladly do that.
deciding to trust him, you walked to the kitchen, knowing that the boy would follow you. “i was about to bake a cake, wanna help?”
heeseung pondered the question a bit before answering. “sure, but don’t expect me to be of much aid,” his words made you smile.
“if i can make sunghoon help me, and you know how much he hates cooking, then you can too,” and having said that, you took out the materials needed to mix everything.
the only thing left was the big bowl to put all the ingredients in at the end, but it was too high up and you couldn’t reach it well, so she stood on your tiptoes and tried to grab it to no avail. seeing that the boy behind you wasn’t doing anything, you turned around and looked at him with a deadpan expression. “aren’t you gonna help or something?” you asked and, after he looked at her with an amused smile for a few seconds, he decided to come to the rescue.
standing behind you, your first thought was that heeseung was going to reach for the bowl himself, but what he did surprised you, to say the least. he grabbed you by the waist and lifted you up until she was high enough to get the bowl, which was now secured in your hands thanks to him.he then put you down, and you immediately missed the comforting warmth his touch provided. heeseung tried to look at you, but you only turned to face the other way to not show the slight blush appearing on your cheeks. “happy now?” he chuckled, ruffling your hair in the process.
“hey!” you protested. “i’ve told you many times to not do that,” heeseung only gave you a hum in response, as if saying that he would still do that even if you didn’t like it. to be honest, he liked teasing you until you got angry, he actually thought it was quite funny and cute.
you managed to calm down after the bowl incident and decided to start with the recipe that you already knew by heart, telling heeseung to do something from time to time. when he wasn’t doing anything, he just admired your concentrated face which, surprisingly, also seemed very calm. baking actually took your stress away and set your intrusive thoughts aside, so heeseung tried to take in that state of you before it flew off, since he didn’t get too many chances to see you so relaxed and content.
“here,” you told him. “hold the sifter while i pour the dry ingredients and shake it slightly to sift them.”
“yes, chef!” he playfully answered, making you laugh. after doing so, you both took turns to mix the batter and then poured it into the mould. finally, you put it in the oven and set a timer to remember to check it so it wouldn’t burn.
“okay,” you turned around and looked at all the dirty tools and containers. “now we clean.”
heeseung whined after hearing that. “do we have to?” he asked, dragging out the last word.
“yes, seung, we do, and if you help me it’ll be much faster and we can chill before taking the cake out.”
heeseung ultimately decided to clean too, taking some dirty spoons and thoroughly scrubbing the food off of them. he then spotted the bowl with the batter remnants and immediately got an idea that you would most likely hate. he thought about doing it or not and he just told himself to take the risk, since your anger didn’t last long when it came to him.
heeseung carefully grabbed the bowl and swiped a bit of the remaining batter with his finger. he then tapped you on the back with his other hand, making you turn around and be met with the boy putting the batter on your cheek. your face immediately turned into a scowl. “lee heeseung, you’re gonna regret doing that!”
heeseung ran out of the kitchen with followed by you, who turned the roles around and had some batter on your finger, ready to be swiped all over heeseung’s face. he ran and ran around only to get back to the kitchen, suddenly getting cornered. “you have nowhere to run now, heeseungie,” you sing-sang, attacking him with the batter a second after.
you both looked at each other and started laughing at yourselves acting like little kids in the middle of the night. after the laughter died down, you grabbed a tissue and went to heeseung, wiping the batter off his face with it. he then took it from you to clean your face. “we’re tied now,” you talked. “let’s not pull any more stunts.”
for a few seconds, there was only silence. until heeseung spoke up, this time not thinking about what he was about to say and do, just like you had stated a while before. “but,” he slowly approached you, making you walk backwards to keep the distance. “what if i don’t want to stop?”
you opened your mouth to speak, but you found yourself speechless. “seung,” you finally managed to blurt out in nothing but a mere whisper, only to hit the counter with your back right after, getting startled and not continuing your sentence.
heeseung had trapped you in, putting his hands on both sides of your frame, resting them on top of the counter. the tension was palpable in the air, feeling like it could be cut with a knife at any moment. you both locked eyes, the atmosphere much serious than it was seconds before. heeseung took a deep breath, just then considering the situation he was in.
he knew it was too late to back off and, even though he had pictured that happening in another, much more planned scenery, he decided to just go along with what he had started. he looked down at his feet, then back at you, sending a fleeting look to your lips, then settling his gaze on your eyes.
“can i?” he questioned softly, praying to the universe that you wouldn’t say no.
it seemed like you didn’t need to think about your actions either at that moment, because you just gave him a nod. even though it was small, that was the only thing that heeseung needed before closing the gap between you that had been growing smaller with every passing second.
you were overwhelmed with joy, but kissed back with the same force as heeseung. feeling your strong response, he smirked into the kiss, only stopping when he had no more oxygen left in his lungs. if it were for him, he would’ve continued to kiss you, but he decided to stop himself before it got too out of hand.
“if this didn’t make it obvious,” he spoke after catching his breath. “i like you.”
you smiled after hearing his words. “i like you too, heeseung,” she admitted, still giddy from what just happened.
heeseung then smirked at her. “does that mean that i can keep pulling stunts on you?”
“we’ll see about that, seung.”

the air was stale; moving only when the man who slept peacefully next to me would stir. he was so far on the edge of the bed, i feared that a couple more tosses and he'd become acquainted with the floor. however, right now it was difficult for me to find a care in the world with a piercing knife through my heart. but, i'd been kissing it's blunt edge for a while, and it's only a matter of time before it was sharpened and plunged straight through my chest.
i wanted to be shocked, say it was a blindspot i forgot to check before merging, yet it seemed i needed him more than he ever needed me.
the memories i'd one day have to learn to live without clung to my head, spinning it with the ceiling fan i couldn't tear my eyes from. the air was hard to breathe, thick with a suffocating smog as the name rolled so effortlessly off his tongue.
as if he couldn't twist the knife lodged so deeply and hurt me any more: it wasn't my name he slept-talked. it wasn't me who roamed his dreamland. i wasn't the one he promised eternity to — not truly, and it sent a poison straight up my veins.
i felt stupid to believe such a naive thought; to believe in him. i turned a blind-eye to the red-flags i swore i could bleach. for so long, i wondered if there would ever be a silver-lining to the misery i found myself knee-deep in. however, i think i always knew in the back of my mind that people don't change just because you want them to.
and what i wanted was forever while he only wanted a year-long one night stand; a body to crawl back and into whenever he pleased.
i felt conflicted as the pictures flashed behind my eyes. i couldn't have always been his second-choice, but maybe suffering was easier than facing the truth. maybe, in reality, love could be too red — or on the other hand, it wasn't love at all.
i felt homesick — or perhaps it was just sick. maybe i had painted him so well in a facade i forgot who he even was to begin with. he was apathetic in a dream-state, and i wondered if that would change if he was awake. if he could see my bloodshot eyes, would he even give half a fuck in my direction?
i hate to think it, but were the words he said even really meant for me? were the i love you's just to keep me from saying goodbye? my stomach twisted like a stormy-ocean and i felt a tear escape the side of my eye, rolling down my cheek and finding place against the sheets.
he knew me, all of me. every inch of myself has been on display and i wondered if he even liked what he saw — if he even saw me to begin with. i couldn't help but feel like i was strung up and toyed with for his personal gain.
and then, he said it again.
i wondered if the name was asleep right now, meeting him just as he was her. or if she laid awake and pleaded to the moon for myself to be out of the picture.
i feared in the coming sunrise her lucky-star would die and grant the wish.
my nails dug into my palms, leaving little crescents that reflected the moon that lit the room so dimly. it was hard to believe that our rainbow hadn't just been a bunch of beige shades he pretended to like.
he turned over and i wondered if he'd even reach out to me if i wasn't between his sheets. there must've been something wrong with me for him to only truly be my lover when the lights were off. and i didn't want a lover in the night. i wanted to call him mine, have him say it back and mean it. i couldn't just pretend like i didn't know this day would come, but nonetheless, it didn't stop me from feeling like a participation trophy he was embarrassed to show-off.
i feared his price of love was too high a price to pay, and the hardest part of gambling is knowing when to fold — when you've lost the game you keep rolling the dice to.
reluctantly, i sat up and dipped the bed, not realizing how drenched in sweat the anxiety had made me. the room seemed to darken when his unconscious state blurred between it and the tears that flooded my eyes.
a groggy voice sliced through the hair-raising silence, "y/n?" i was bleeding out, and the blood was all over his hands.
"where are you go — a-are you crying?"
i wanted to feign ignorance, say that i had a bad dream, but this nightmare — hell — wasn't worth killing my reality over. any longer and, i'm sure, the only way i'd make it out is in a bodybag.
but, would that really be so bad?
desperately, i wanted him to follow me throughout his apartment, put his shoes on and run out into the rain after me. read my mind and beg for forgiveness. tell me i had the wrong idea, and was stupidly imagining things. but, on the contrary, i've always been good at wishful thinking. actually, he probably thought he had me so tightly leashed that it wouldn't be the last time i found myself in his bed. but, the rain only soaked one of us and i couldn't face the image of looking back and it being a shut door. still, i couldn't stop myself and that's when i broke down, knees buckling from under me, splashing against the puddle and seeping through my — his — clothes.
the worst part? i didn't even hate him for it.
i was so addicted to the drug running through my veins that i'd have done almost anything to get my fix. he was a vice — a bad habit i know i needed rehab for.
and, maybe that's why the fantasy of leaving never happened. maybe that's why i was sat against the sheets, completely dry, staring doe-eyed at the man who had me so tightly chained in his closet of bodies.
i know i can't help if he meets someone better suited to him, but i also couldn't help the tide pulling me under with the current of despair.
as much as i had feared the betrayal, i think i already knew the answer to the questions that danced around me like ghosts. he was the love of my life, but i was only a love in his; something disposable the moment he saw a shiny and new pearl necklace.
he mumbled through a groggy accent, “y/n, what’s up? it’s late, let’s not do this now.”
he left a bitter taste in my mouth; a pretty venom he spit with every word, with or without realization. he should’ve cared that his girlfriend was crying, but it only really mattered if it interrupted his time away from me — his time with her.
he was everything i'd ever needed at the end of everything. earlier, if i was to go i would've, easily, been contempt. he was my life-support and now he was pulling the plug. but, is it truly better to die by the hands of someone you love? i guess, in reality, i knew the answer, living lifelessly for someone else all this time. i suppose, maybe, it was better than dying lonely because, at least it was him that would be my undoing. at least, it was his face, voice, and touch that would linger in whatever afterlife seemed fit.
and it seemed that though our love had died, i just couldn’t hold the funeral and call it a memorial. i wanted to celebrate our life, but i can’t help but feel like it had slipped through my fingers like it was just air to begin with.
he was all i’ve ever wanted. all i ever knew. but now it was dawning on me that all i’ve ever craved was fake — and i’ll admit, for some time i was okay loving that lie. i was okay being too you and dumb to know what love even was, but that was before i fell for him. that was before he was the only thing that consistently crossed my mind — day, night, afternoon, dawn — he was the only person who had infiltrated every part of me and maybe, at the end of the day, i liked the pretty poison running through me, because if i was only his lover in the night now, at least i was still his lover.
i chewed my lip, "i'm fine." i mumbled, crumpling the duvet over my legs. those damned words were a lie i got used to saying and he got used to hearing — believing. it was better this way; to fein ignorance and tell fables to each other like bedtime stories, like if we said them enough they would become true.
i knew how much more i could take, and even though he's done something that for anyone else would be unforgivable, i wasn't swayed hard enough to hate him. and i, truthfully, don't know why. but the way his arms felt around me, or the way that he, despite not loving me, knew me so fucking well told me through the noise in my head that i wasn't ready to go. i didn't know how to be on my own, and i just wished he felt the same somewhere deep down. but the despised voices are loud, and i also know that if i stay, he will be the death of me. my peace of mind was fleeting. i wanted to hate him — i wanted to hate the continuous circle that kept me coming back like clockwork.
i wondered if after a blissful year the name he wanted so bad would feel the same. i wondered if we'd eventually board the same boat and sink as i am now. truthfully, i wondered a lot, and jake was no short of non-answered questions. he was a mystery i spent my time trying to solve, despite coming up short of evidence. he was a pretty crier, and an even prettier liar. he was everything i ever needed at the end of my world. the sun i orbited — the saturn to the rings i spun for him.
but, even i knew there was nothing left to decode anymore. he was always just a window i refused to look through. he dug my grave, and now we had to lie in it.

It feels surreal to him, to finally lay eyes upon you after two years.
Staring is his only form of communication since you walked through that door. You haven’t seen him yet. There isn’t a single person at the party that didn’t rush to your side the moment they saw you.
He’s supposed to be over you. And he thinks he is, really.
Sunghoon almost ran to you too, until he remembered your last conversation— argument really — a week before you left. And how he didn’t show up at the airport even though you begged him to, through a voicemail. He blocked your number right after he listened to it. As a matter of fact, he blocked you everywhere.
Out of sight, out of mind. Right? It felt like a good idea then, he wasn’t so sure about it a month later, but the damage was done. No backing down. He spent hours, entire nights, awake and overthinking the entire thing.
Crossing the line again isn’t an option. He pushed you out of his life and walked away from your own. He remembers that the heartbreak felt cold, and still does, but he moved on.
The memories keep flooding back as he stares at you and so does the embarrassment.
You barely look any different, still carrying the appearance of soulfire sparking against the ice. He could look at you for hours. Seeing you always felt like watching the last single beam of light from the sunset. He’s been watching you for longer than he’d like to admit.
To Sunghoon, you were, still like love, the kind of love that one would find themselves lucky to perceive only for a blink of an eye. But he reminds himself, that his feelings for you are dead and buried.
“Stare any longer will you.”
The interruption comes to him in the shape of Jake’s voice.
Sunghoon’s eyes drop from your figure for the first time in ten minutes, refocusing on the drink in his hand.
“I’m not.”
His poor attempt to lie draws out a smile from his best friend, “You’re not going to greet her?”
“I don’t think she wants me to.”
His nerves are so bad he shakes at just the thought. He deserves a slap across the face from you. He knows Jake suspects something went terribly wrong between his best friend and his sister, but Sunghoon never told him the details.
“Right,” Jake’s chuckle is light, laced with a hum of amusement at the matter, “Not like she isn’t one of your best friends too.”
Sunghoon can feel a headache forming. It tells him it’s time to rest someplace quiet, to ride out the storm within his heart away from all these people.
“Is she?”
Not anymore. He walked away and you let him.
“She misses you.”
Sunghoon feels himself scoff involuntarily, “Did she tell you that?”
He hates feeling so bitter, especially about you. You did nothing wrong and yet; his heart feels crushed every time someone mentions you.
“She did.”
“What?” His mouth goes dry, there’s the roar of his blood in his ears.
His eyes sparkle when he looks at you, Jake swears they give off light.
“Go say hi before I punch you in the face. I know you miss her too.”
He does. So much he can barely put into words.
“Okay.”
You escape to your kitchen before someone else gets the chance to greet you. Horrible thing to do, but you’ve only been back for a few hours and all the attention is getting a little too much. Your energy and mood are running on an empty tank by now. You feel the need to move almost without end, if your limbs were moving the anxiety was gone, or at least you could ignore it a while longer.
Being back home after so long is amazing. It’s so incredibly fulfilling, it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, but also terrified. Because… what now? You’ve spent the last two years on the other side of the globe. You’re different. Everyone’s different. Which isn’t exactly a bad thing…but it’s something.
You’ve grown into yourself, no longer a small-town girl but someone who’s lived and seen the world.  Your journey of self-discovery just started, only a few chapters have been written, but somehow it feels like being home is going to remind you this journey is about you.
“You’re hiding.”
You’ve been caught. You immediately release your lip from between your teeth, turning to face him like a deer in headlights. As if you’d need to turn around to remember him or his voice.
It was deep now; it gave him an air of solid confidence and was so very easy on the ears.
“Am not.” You say guiltily.
Sunghood huffs. It’s like you never left in the first place. Like you two haven’t spent the last two years dragging your friendship through a silent great war.
You’d been switching between biting your nails and bouncing your knee all while you tried to greet everyone and catch up. He hates that he wasn’t brave enough to save you from the overwhelming crowd.
“Liar,” His voice is all airy and teasing, “You’re still a bad liar.”
You flush. How come he still knows you like the back of his hand? You can tell by the dazzling grin on his face.
You’d changed, but so had he. Both of you seem mature now.
Sunghoon never had an ugly phase. You’ve always been convinced that he came out of the womb looking like a runway model.  He always had an appearance that could make him stand out in a crowd. He was fair, almost pale white. If he was a pretty boy back then, he was a handsome man now. His dark brown eyes contrasted exceptionally with his light-toned face. And they are still as deep and expressive as before as if you could get lost if you stared long enough.
Not that you ever did.
“But seriously,” His teasing tone is gone. “What’s wrong?”
He’s using that voice again, the one he used when he wanted something from you. You hate that he still knows you so well.
You open your mouth, but nothing comes out. This wasn’t how you imagined your first night back home. He shouldn’t be here. And why the hell are you talking to him? You both hurt each other, you’re supposed to be angry.
Fuck, you’ve been…resentful, for the past two years, and all that it takes for it to stop, is seeing him? Get a grip.
Sunghoon’s forehead creases with worry, before shuffling close to you, thighs touching. He tells himself he’s only trying to help an old friend. That’s all that you are now. Supposedly.
“Hey.” He nudges you with his elbow, looking down at you with those eyes. “Tell me, what’s wrong?”
God. Didn’t he understand he was making this harder? You consider running away and locking yourself up in your room, maybe curling up in a ball forever. He’s the reason you’ve been dreading this day. He hurt you. You hurt him, and yet, you can tell he still cares. You two have had small arguments in the past, they were short lasting and would end quickly. That wasn’t the case this time.
You used to share secret glances across the room, share inside jokes from a distance, and practically read each other’s minds.
Sunghoon nudges you once again, this time your leg with his foot, and gives you a smile that lit up the room. You can tell he’s nervous, his eyes keep darting between your face and the wooden floors, but his worried tone brings you back into the kitchen.
You shouldn’t be here. It’s half-past midnight, you should be in bed, resting in preparation for a long day of unpacking tomorrow.
Taking a deep breath, you shrug your shoulders, “Just a little overwhelmed, that’s all,” you finally admit, “Maybe a lot?”
You say it all in one breath. You can feel him watching you like his eyes are burning holes into the side of your head. You press your body further back, wishing you could melt into the counter.
Sunghoon can barely believe you are here, right here, “Want me to kick everyone out?” He hears himself ask as if it hasn’t been over two years since the last time he spoke to you, as if this conversation wasn’t completely out of the ordinary.
You blink in surprise, but don’t stop the small smile that pulls at your lips, of course, he would say something of the sort. Always attempting to get your mind off what’s stressing you out.
“That’s my family and yours.”
“You think I won’t do it?” Sunghoon hears himself ask softly, although he’s teasing, he would do it in a heartbeat if you asked him to.
“I know you would.” Your voice drips with amusement and you roll your eyes at him with a shake of your head.
Sunghoon finds himself watching you quietly, your eyes taking in the area surrounding you, avoiding his gaze. His lips quirk up at your familiar mannerisms, and he remembers how much he’s missed you.
Again.
You both sit in silence for a while, music and voices filling the background noise. It feels somewhat peaceful and incredibly nerve-wracking at the same time.
He's not sure if the whole “let's ignore each other for two years” plan worked. He spent months trying to pretend you didn’t exist, but deep down, he knew it wasn’t supposed to end like that.
Your expression falls a little, and you unclasp your hands, letting them hang at your sides, “Sunghoon...”
He jerks, not expecting that tone in your voice, and steps closer to you, “I’m sorry I never called,” he tells you, full lips pursed, looking like he was carefully picking his next words, “I should’ve been at the airport or explained things better…I don’t know.”
“It’s not your fault,” You shift your eyes to his red cup, watching the liquid for a few seconds, before meeting his gaze, “I didn’t reach out either.”
He wonders if you ever thought about each other at the same time.
Sunghoon can’t tell how many times a day he wondered where you were, what you were doing, and mostly if you were happy. He should’ve hugged you longer the last time he saw you. His first two years of college went by without you, and that was…strange.
“I almost did,” He hears himself say softly, “Call you.”
You turn your head slightly, pretty eyes staring him down, nose scrunched up a little, “You did?”
He nods at your words, and in an instant, his cheeks were rosy, “On your birthday, last year…But I chickened out.”
He’s a little pleased when you blink in surprise at him, before frowning half-heartedly, “I almost called you too,” You grumble, earning a chuckle from him, “For a long time, I really missed having you around.”
Sunghoon feels his heart skip, “Yeah?”
You shrug anxiously, and purse your lips, “You were my best friend.”
He swallows sharply. Despite the sinking in his stomach, he’s happy you still hold him in such high consideration, after everything. Even if it only confirms that you’d never see him that way.
“Everything reminded me of you,” He smiles tightly with a frown, but keeps letting the words out, “Every time I saw something I knew you’d like; I picked up my phone and then…just stared at it. You’d be everywhere, and honestly, I’d know you anywhere.”
“I missed you.”
Sunghoon stares at you in awe, replaying your words over and over his head. Hesitantly, you place your hand over his, on the counter, and meet his eye, he holds your hands properly in his own and sighs contently.
“I’m really sorry,” He apologizes again, “I didn’t want to hurt you.”
Your shoulders seem to relax a little, and your features smooth out, “I know.”
Sunghoon’s soft hands are now much rougher than what you remembered. But his heart was the same, soft, and naked. He's close enough that you can feel the warmth emanating from his body.
He still smells the same. You flicker your eyes up to his again, desperate for comfort. His intense gaze sends you into a frenzy.
He still looks at you like that. His fingers trace your jaw, moving softly against your skin before trailing up to get lost in your hair, “I’m going to spend this summer making it up to you.”
“You don’t have to Hoon,” You let the words tumble from your lips, “We were both idiots.”
Sunghoon tuts to himself, furrowing his dark brows with a shake of his head, “I did this, not you. You simply respected my stupid decision.”
“But—", You try to continue, almost gasping when his other hand comes up to fully encase your features, starry eyes soft as he takes you in, “I did this too.”
He cups your cheek in his hand, something he always did back then.
Somehow, his hands always ended up close to you, usually cradling your face. Sunghoon had always been so cautious and caring around you, you couldn’t fathom him another away. It always felt like he was relishing in the feel of you, committing the act to memory.
“We’re never doing this again.”
You almost laugh at his desperate tone, if only you didn’t feel the same about the entire situation, “We still got an entire summer, right?”
You known that soon enough you'll have to discuss this topic again and talk things trough, properly, without twenty people surrounding you. But for now, you'll simply enjoy his company.
Sunghoon tugged you closer to his chest, “You and me sweets, all summer.”
For the first time in years, things felt right. A summer of adventure and fun with the person you missed the most. That sounded just about damn right.

Spiderman
Harsh words and angst up ahead!! Be warned!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Gwen Stacy!!!!!" your mother called for you from downstairs. You almost dropped your polaroid of your beloved boyfriend Jake Parker; brother of the late Peter Parker. Jake had just joined the army of spider people under Miguel and was not too familiar with the spiders but Gwen Stacy, aka ghost spider or spiderwoman.
You rush downstairs to see your mother holding up her phone to take your picture as you twirl in your dress.
"How do I look mom?" "Like a successful science experiment" she replied taking a picture casually and flicking her tears.
The doorbell rings and your super cute golden retriever of a boyfriend stood there with the biggest most excited and nervous smile you've seen anyone sport. "May I come in Mrs.Stacy?"
He notices you standing and posing for the camera and his jaw drops to the ground. "You look....... whoa" he sputters in disbelief as he takes in your fit. "Do I look good Jakey?" you ask. "You look so pretty I'm mad that i can only view you in 3d." His sparkling eyes make your heart stutter.
He gently takes your hand in his as your mom calls you two to take pictures together. He slips his hand around your waist and pulls you closer. "Don't be shy baby." He says before smiling for the picture.
Soon you both are in his second hand car and are making your way to prom. A scream pulls through the school cafeteria and Jake gets into his spider get up instantly.
"Please be safe out there." You tell him; worried that you'll have to face the same Jake who was impaled by the great Doc Ock who he accidentally, indirectly murdered.
"Have I ever not been safe?" He jokes, you give him a stern and worried look conveying how upsetting it is to see the love of your life coming home with all those scratches and wounds.
"Fine, I will stay out of too much trouble" He gives you a chaste kiss before slipping his mask on and swinging into the cafeteria.
Loud clanging sounds are heard from the cafeteria and you hear Jake throwing a few playful quips here and there as you try to guide everyone to safety. "I'M NOT A MONSTER!!!!" a scream echoes through the building. "I know you're not." Jake whispers, trying to calm down the broken soul in front of him. "THEN WHY IS IT THAT NO ONE LOVES ME? NOT MY MOM, NOT MY DAD, NOT MY EX! WHEN WILL I FIND LOVE?? Will you help me?" The girl sobs, breaking down in front of your boyfriend. "Wait what? I mean, you will find love eventually..... But for now you need to love yourself." He reaches his hand out to pull her up from the wall of plants she pulled up with her powers.
Jake suddenly gets himself pulled in by said girl as she traps him in her plant. "Knew you would fall for a poor, unfortunate soul." She says, chuckling darkly. "I TRUSTED YOU FLO!" your betrayed boyfriend shrieks.
"Too bad spidey, now you're all mine" she says and starts walking to him and Jake starts to expect the worst lashing he's had in weeks and closes his eyes for the impact which never came,
In front of his eyes stood his strong and brave girlfriend yanking the hair of Flo; a teen who magically started having super powers related to her favorite superhero: poison Ivy.
"STACY NO GET OUT OF HERE" Jake yells as he tries to free himself off the binds.
"THIS BITCH TRIED TO TAKE MY MAN I AIN'T BACKING DOWN SUPERPOWER OR NOT!!!" You scream vigorously pulling the hair of the deranged female in front of you.
Jake frees himself and brings you to safety and removes his mask.
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" He whisper-shouts, mad. "The bitch wanted MY man.... I will have a problem with that" you explained.
Jake just shook his head and pulled his mask on. "STAY. PUT. HERE." He warns sternly as he swings off, leaving you sitting on a rooftop with your feet dangling in the air.
A good 20 minutes pass by when you feel something wrap around your neck. Before you can respond, you loose your vision and consciousness.
The first thing you see after the incident is the ground atleast 80 feet below you and a gag around your mouth. Your boyfriend is fighting the crazy plant girl Flo as he keeps checking on you, dangling right above a vat of weird chemicals.
"WELCOME TO MY HOME GWEN STACY, AKA SPIDEY'S WHORE!" Flo screams from some random floor in the building which you were dangling from. You notice plants holding your arms and neck, keeping you from plunging to your death. You look frantically for a way to escape when one of the plants holding your right hand lets go, leaving you dangling by your left hand and your throat.
"THE CHILDREN OR THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE SPIDEY!" Flo yells as a bus of children are dropped along with you from either sides of the building. ;"SAVE THE KIDS!" You scream before plunging to your inevitable death. You see you boyfriend rushing to save the kids at your word and you close your eyes accepting fate when you feel something sticking onto your chest as you open your eyes to see your boyfriend's web attached to you.
You were only a few feet above the ground and it was almost too late and you look at your boyfriend one last time with his mask on as a plant attacks him, leaving you to hit the ground as an immense pain surges through your body and you breathe no more.
You have a dream with Jake and you smiling and holding your grandkids, but you knew all too well that you were gone.
"In every other universe, Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-man.... and in every other universe, it doesn't end well."

Blaring music, sweaty bodies, and alcohol: a summary of the usual clubbing experience. Although I never was a regular club-goer, I had to admit it hit the spot sometimes, especially as a stressed second-year university student who needed a bit of release every once in a while. And after a strenuous week packed with midterms, a night out was exactly what my body craved.
"I don't know if I can survive another week of midterms..." Rei mumbled as we were waiting in line to enter the club. Rolling my eyes, I turned to her and gently gripped her shoulders.
"Rei, right now I need you to focus on the fact that we're about to get absolutely plastered. You can worry about the future tomorrow" My words managed to coax a smile out of her, and I shot her a grin in response. Rei, my best friend since we had met back in our freshman year of high school. Her sweet demeanor and fierce loyalty were apparent from the first time we met, despite her shyness, and I immediately knew I wanted to pursue a friendship with her. Now, five years later, we were inseparable despite attending different colleges. She was an art major at Iwha University while I studied law at Seoul University.
"Wony's already inside with Yujin, and Hanni should be on her way here with Yunjin" my friend reminded me, and I nodded absentmindedly while scanning the clubs' queue for familiar faces.
"Also Heeseung will be there with his friends" My eyes immediately shifted toward Rei as she smiled slyly.
"You're kidding" She shook her head and pulled out her phone to show me that Heeseung had posted a story on Instagram just a couple minutes ago at the establishment we were about to enter. I squealed and hugged Rei.
"Oh my god!" I exclaimed excitedly. You see, Heeseung had been my campus crush for about two years now. He was majoring in Business Administration along with our friend Yunjin, so I was able to meet him through her. His perfect smile and round eyes pulled me in from the moment we met and I had been smitten ever since. Although we texted every now and then, we were merely acquaintances, and I had been wanting to get closer to him for quite a while.
Once we got past the bouncers and left our coats in the cloakroom, the nervousness started to be replaced with excitement.
"Do you think I should shoot my shot?" I asked Rei.
"Absolutely! You've been infatuated with him for months, it's about time" She nodded encouragingly, and I bit my lower lip considering it.
"Let's just see how the night evolves, but first we need to find our friends"
We eventually located Wonyoung and Yujin having a drink by the bar. They greeted us with a warm hug and we wasted no time in heading to the dance floor. Soon after, Hanni and Yunjin joined us, blaming their tardiness on everyone but themselves.
At some point during the night, we bumped into Heeseungs' group and got to mingling. There were four of them in total, but I only really knew Heesung and Jay. I had met the latter a few months back at one of Yunjin's gigs, where they both performed with electric guitars. Even though his sharp eyes and defined jaw made him appear intimidating, he was extremely kind and polite once you engaged in a conversation with him. After that, I didn't expect to see him again, but he actually attended the same university as me, so we occasionally ran into each other around campus.
While both groups got to talking, I managed to sneak a couple of glances at Heeseung. Tonight he had combed back his dark hair thus exposing his forehead, making him seem even more handsome than usual. Then again, it may have been the alcohol talking. As distracted as I was, I failed to notice Jay walking in my direction.
"Hey Y/N!" I jumped slightly as my eyes met the young man's.
"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you" he chuckled while scratching his neck. I quickly shook my head.
"Don't apologize! I was just, somewhere else, I guess" I smiled apologetically, trying to diffuse the awkwardness of the situation. Jay nodded and looked over his shoulder.
"This place is packed tonight, huh?" he mentioned.
"Yep, and there are too many freshmen" I complained.
"I mean, we were all freshmen once" Jay replied, stifling a laugh. As I opened my mouth to voice my very strong opinion on this year's freshmen, I was met with a sight that made my throat go dry.
A few feet behind Jay, Heeseung was busy with his tongue down another girl's throat. Suddenly, my face felt very hot, and an all too familiar knot formed in my stomach. As much as I wanted to look away from the scene, my eyes were glued to their figures. Jay noticed the abrupt change in my demeanor and turned around, following my eyes. Judging from the pitiful glance he spared me, he had understood the situation all too quickly. Thankfully, Wonyoung stepped in and pulled me away, sitting me down on a stool next to the bar counter.
"I'm taking you home" my worried friend insisted, but I shook my head profusely. I flashed her the brightest smile I could muster
"No way, Wony! I don't plan on ruining your night just because I got my feelings hurt. Besides..." I leaned forward to whisper in her ear.
"Didn't you have something planned for tonight?" Wonyoung turned beet red, stealing a quick glance at Yujin.
"That's not important! I can talk to her another ti-"
"That's what you always say! Seriously, if I don't hear an update from you tomorrow, I'm telling her myself" At this, she chuckled, but she still seemed hesitant to leave me alone, so I flashed her the brightest smile I could muster.
"Seriously, I'm fine Wony, I just want to go home, is all" This was enough to convince my friend, and we parted ways with a warm hug.
The cold air hit my face the moment I stepped out of the club. I tightened my fluffy scarf around my neck and began making my way towards my apartment. Thankfully, I only lived a few minutes on foot from the establishment, so I didn't have to rely on public transport.
I had only been walking for barely a minute when I heard someone calling my name.
"Y/N! Wait up!" I turned around, confused as to who it could be, and to my dismay, it was none other than Jay, who had seen the whole ordeal.
"Wonyoung told me you were heading out, and I wanted to walk you home" he smiled once he caught up with me, coaxing a shy grin out of me. He had always been a gentleman.
"Don't worry about me, I live super close!" I tried explaining, but Jay brushed me off. I sighed and just as I was about to begin small talk, the man spoke up.
"Are you okay?" I looked up at him, surprised to find his worry-filled eyes boring into mine. I quickly nodded, trying to seem as non-chalant as I possibly could.
"It just surprised me, is all! I thought he was single" I managed to utter out in an attempt to justify my strange reaction.
"He is single though" Jay noted. Maybe that should have made me feel better, but to be frank, it did exactly the opposite of that. It essentially confirmed the fact that he probably would have made a move on me if he were interested in me. And since he had never done so, not even once, it was safe to assume that he wasn't into me.
"Y/N?" Jay's voice snapped me out of my thoughts with a start, and I smiled apologetically.
"Sorry, I'm really tired, I can barely function" I wasn't sure that he would buy such a lame excuse, but he simply nodded and proceeded to swiftly change the subject. At some point, he insisted on carrying the extra bag I had brought, which had a couple of spare sweaters in it. I always make sure to bring spare outerwear to outings with friends in case any of them get cold.
After a couple of minutes, we were standing in front of my flat's door. I turned around and thanked Jay profusely for accompanying me.
"You don't need to thank me for being a decent human being. I couldn't let you walk home alone at this hour" he firmly stated with a wide smile plastered on his face. I smiled back at him and entered my apartment. The moment I closed the door, I curled into a ball on the floor. The image of Heeseung kissing that girl was burned into my mind, and all I could do was pity myself for not being the type of girl he liked.
Realistically, it was ridiculous to cry over a man I hadn't even dated. Nevertheless, over the past year, I had developed strong feelings for him. It seemed as though they were unrequited in the end.
Tears streamed down my face as I reminisced about a relationship that never happened, and soon, I was sobbing uncontrollably.
"Wh-why am I never the first choice?" I wept aloud, leaning against my front door.
Jay's POV:
"Shit, I forgot to give this back to her"
It was only when he had already arrived at his apartment that Jay realized he had forgotten to hand Y/N her bag back. He sighed exasperatedly and quickly made his way back to the young woman's flat. Thankfully they lived in the same apartment complex, so in less than a minute, he had arrived.
As Jay was about to ring the doorbell, he heard faint sobs coming from behind the door. He hesitated for a second, thinking he might have gotten the apartment wrong, but his doubts were quickly dismissed when he heard Y/N's shaky voice speak.
What he heard made him frown deeply, and he decided he would return the sweaters at a better time. As Jay walked back to his own apartment, he quietly whispered: "You are... you always have been"

1x1 roleplay partner search !
update 28 January 2024: i’m currently no longer looking for enhypen rps. consider this post as CLOSED
hi hi! my name is emery and it's been a while since i have made a proper request on my blog so here we are<3
i'm 20 years old, and i am looking for 18+ writing partners to do member x member bxb roleplay with ! note that i do not accept ocs. 3rd person, past tense, the range would be 350+ words with proper grammar.
other: i talk a lot so BEWARE... just your local crackhead (although i'll be trying to make this post sound cool)
i am into most genres except for a few. i tend to always include fantasy themes in my roleplays, so if you're not okay with some magic here and there, we probably wouldn't be the best match !
okay with nsfw themes (including smut) if it flows. i want my partner to be a switch, especially when we have more pairings than just one. this is something i am not willing to compromise about. with that being said, i am all for multiple ships! not doubles... but multiverse type of a deal.
discord is the only platform i write / interact on!
while i prefer active writing partners, i do get that life gets in the way sometimes. personally, i reply once a day depending on how many replies i have to write down and my overall inspiration<3 please communicate if anything, because i can't stand ghosting and being left in the dark for weeks / months.
currently looking for enhypen roleplays mostly. i'd be willing to write anyone in the group depending on the plot, although i will not participate in romantic pairings with niki. i have many other groups i am familiar with, although enha has been my main brainrot so far! lastly, i'm also semi-okay with other k-pop crossovers, tho i am especially picky with them ><
pls collaborate. i will not lead the entire plot by myself - no need to be afraid to drop your ideas. with that being said, i’ll repeat myself that i can’t deal with dry texters, one way replies and such, pls show me at least some interest if you wanna rp with me! ^^
GUSHING ABOUT SHIPS N HEADCANONS >>>>
i'm a big ooc person - i can't rp with people i cannot be friends with ooc! something about it just feels awkward UDFHBGJDF
below is my carrd, you can find me rambling into detail about what i have written above + triggers + limits + writing samples and more groups i am familiar with. please kindly read it if i have caught your interest so far c:
! CARRD
with all of that being said, thank you for reading! make sure to like this post or directly message me in case of interest ^^
note: i tend to exchange writing samples with my partner to make sure that we match writing-wise and enjoy each other's content!

Yang Jungwon X Reader Outspoken Freshman
Tumblr media
Pairing: Yang Jungwon X AFAB reader (none of them are famous)
Warning: A few curse words and mentions of intercourse but nothing major and not too descriptive. Use of the word Noona. Basing the university experience as the one in Portugal which includes Praxe. For those who don't know, The praxe is meant to initiate the freshmen into the University institution and to encourage the loss of social inhibitions, it's also just a thing to make fun of the freshmen, calling them Bestas or Beasts and make fun of them, but it can also be a very good way to integrate yourself.
Summary: You're in your second year of university, after going back to University after you took a one-year break. The most excited person to your return are your friends, but most especially Sunoo who is now in your class. There are now new students coming, and you were invited to the gathering to welcome the new freshman.
Word Count: 2.3K words
Gripping onto the strap of your backpack you had no idea you were being followed, although, in the end it was not something or in this case, someone frightening. It was none other than Sunoo, the boy who you've known since you were a child. He was a year younger than you, and you had basically taken the role of an older sister whenever you two were together. You two were very close to each other and cared for one another dearly as if you only had each other to depend on.
Sunoo who had watched you from far and was now almost racing to get near you. "Y/N noona" he called, out of breath after chasing you the last block. You turn around, eyes locked on his, which reminds you of a fox, a gentle smile on his lips. You smile back, happy to his energized self in the morning.
"HI, good morning foxy" you stretch out your hand to ruffle his hair, earning a displeased groan. "Noona" He whines, rather cutely. "You're ruining my hair" he continued, softly adjusting his hair. "You look cuter like this Sunoo" You gushed, you hadn't noticed the blush on the boy's cheeks, a hint of red spreading from his cheeks to the tip of his ears as you went back to walking leaving the poor feverish boy behind you.
He hurried to catch up with you, taking big steps until he was beside you once more, trying his best to act nonchalant. "Ah, noona. I heard we're having a gathering today to welcome the freshmen at Dazed's tonight" he tells you, excitement seething from his voice as he bounces around. "Are you going to get drunk at Dazed again?" you laugh, you miss the glare he gives you, bumping his shoulder to yours. "I was not drunk. And it was not that bad" He defended himself, you looked at him dubious, memories of the last time you too went out to drink flooding your mind.
You shiver with a chuckle, that night was to welcome you and Sunoo had gotten way too excited for his own wellbeing but who could blame his, his favorite senior was back after a break with a few of other seniors, Jay, Sunghoon and Jake. How you had managed to convince those 3 to travel around the world with you was an absolute confusing thing for his brain, especially Jay who was very considerate of his parent's opinions and his grades.
Jay had been the best student, SungHoon following close behind and you and Jake did your best at keeping the grades good but never stressing to study too hard and just keeping it to the B's and a few A's. Nevertheless, you four had managed to travel all around Europe, America and Asia before you came back.
And once you were back Sunoo just refused to leave your side and kept bringing you everywhere to meet everyone he had met whilst you were gone, and he finished his first year. That night at Dazed's he had drank too much, whenever someone tried to make you drink he would also drink with you and just clung to you the whole night, sending nasty glares to those who tries to take you away.
You snap back to reality, a smile on your lips as you eye the male walking besides you cheerfully. "Let's just get to class before the professor sends us out" Sunoo smiles tightly in agreement, hand on your arm pulling you faster to your class.
The classes were over rather quickly, and you found yourself staring out onto the field in front of your university, a few of the new students being praxed outside. You could see the freshmen on their knees, hands behind their backs as the seniors stood in front of them, likely yelling something to them. Your eyes caught on a male, tall and with black hair, you couldn't quite see his face as he was too far away but you could tell he was young and had big eyes.
"The praxe this year seems way easier than it was last year for me, I wonder if they'll also have to crawl around the floor like we had to" you hear Sunoo's voice from besides you, you cringe at the thought of making people crawl. You hadn't attended praxe, you decided not to follow through with it, and even so, you still made friends with the seniors and those in your course. You just weren't expected at the dinner parties, but then again you barely left your dorm room to go out and party until early hours.
"I still can't believe you let those people yell at you and command you to do such things" he shrugs in response. "It was fun. And I got to hang out with the seniors and get their class appointments" he smiles smugly. "The seniors have been saying that, that one" he points at the boy you had just been looking at, "That one is their favorite. He's the most innocent one too" eyes glued to the boy you observed as he nodded to a senior, standing up in a hurry, eyes facing the ground as the female senior pet his head.
"Will he be going to the dinner?" You wondered, still staring at the boy. From besides you, Sunoo observed with a smirk. "He might if I ask him to" he replied. You hummed, face turning back to the board, both teacher and students long gone from the classroom. "If he goes, will you go?" Sunoo settles on top of the desk in front of you, who leans back to give him space in front of you. "I might"
~~
You take a quick shower once you get home, you had a little over an hour until the dinner, which was at 8pm, so you were ahead of time. You hadn't been quite sure of the theme of the dinner, but Bomi had definitely said that it wasn't just a casual dinner.
Grabbing onto your black pencil skirt you grabbed onto your off shoulder white body and put the clothes on, heading back to the bathroom to put your contact lenses and do your makeup. Turning back to the vanity in your bedroom you grabbed your phone dialing Sunoo's number so to ask what he'd be wearing and at what time to be there.
By now, it was already too late to change the course of your makeup and after texting with Bomi who would be attending in her black velvet dress you decided that you were more than well-dressed, or at least good enough for this dinner. But here is the issue, it was 9:30, and you had just finished putting on your high heels when you get a call from your friend Jay asking where you were and if you wanted him to save you a seat.
Rather confused you inquired why the sudden questions until he said they would start to sit down... Sunoo had told you the dinner was at 8pm, it was not at the time, it was in fact at 7:30, and you were now late.
"Stupid Sunoo... Ha... uh, yes. Save me a seat, I'll be leaving now" you hurriedly told Jay, grabbing onto your purse and putting your essentials inside before exiting your dorm, basically running downstairs, getting into your car and trying your best to be safe while driving whilst also stepping on the pedal to get there faster.
You got to the restaurant in the new time of 15 minutes and hurried inside after locking your car. Everyone was already sitting down and once you walked in heads turned to you, a few of them cheering and others waving, and you greeted everyone before finally sitting down beside Jay who got up to pull the chair out and helped you sit.
"Thank you" you whispered to him, he nods, a small smile on his lips as he puts his hand behind your chair continuing on his chat with Sunghoon who was in front of him. You looked around, eyes finally landing on the boy in front of you. None other than the boy from that same morning. Up close, he looked quite a lot like a cat with his eyes and cute demeanor, you stared as he spoke to Bomi who sat beside him, his dimple showing whenever he smiled at her.
Hair parted down the middle the boy chatted enthusiastically within the group, it was easy to see why he was their favorite. As if he could feel your burning stare his eyes locked on your curious ones, a hint of satisfaction passing through his iris. "Hello, sunbaenim. My name is Yang Jungwon" He introduced himself with a smile. You, too, introduced yourself, he nods, eyes never leaving yours.
"Well, everyone's here. Let's start with our introductions to our new freshmen" One of the seniors sitting at the end of the table stands up to raise his cup, everyone following suit. And as everyone introduced themselves, you could feel Jungwon's eyes still on you. "You good?" Jay's voice reaches your ear from your right, you turn you head down to listen to him, nodding with a laugh. "I'm fine" you assure the worried man.
Maybe it was the closeness, maybe it was the fact that you laughed and got closer, but something in Jungwon itched to step in between you two, and he couldn't quite put a finger on it. But it bothered him. Although it shouldn't.
"Jungwon" one of the seniors called out to the boy who snapped back, eyes searching for whoever had called him. "Introduce yourself" The person repeated, Jungwon gulped dryly, nodding submissively. "Yang Jungwon. I was born in 2004, I used to be an athlete, and I'm from Gwanak-gu" he said, eyes looking around the table before it turned to you. "What sport did you do?" Jay asked curious. "Taekwondo" you nodded astonished.
"Y/N. Born in 2002, I took a break to travel around the world with 3 other idiots, and now we're all back to continue studying. And I'm from Seoul. Where, you don't need to know" you smile sarcastically, taking a sip of your drink. The freshmen laugh whilst the seniors, already used simply dismissed your attitude. "If anyone needs something of any subject just question Y/N or her friends for help. They're the smartest in the course" Bomi tells the younger ones.
"Then, noona. Can you help me with a work tomorrow?" Jungwon asks, your eyes widen, choking on your drink. "Me? Sure" You agree to it in a shock, hiding your growing blush with your cup. "I thought noona was dating Jay hyung" another one of the freshmen grumbled at the end of the table, eyebrows furrowed as they looked at Jungwon who sat proudly in his chair.
"I'm surprised you said yes" Jay says, you turn to look at him wondering what he had meant. "You usually don't go for younger men" he shrugs, your ears flush, you swat his arm trying to quiet him, but it doesn't die down as others tune in to hear. "I never said I was going for him. Shut up" you grit through your teeth. "Oh please. I saw you two" he raises his eyebrows at you.
"Noona, have you finally given in to the charm of cute boys?" Sunoo teased a few seats down. "Shut it Kim Sunoo. I'm just going to help with his work"
You definitely were infatuated with this boy, you didn't know if it would be a short-lived thing, but you were certain that you wanted to discover whatever it could be. So the very next day, like planned you left your dorm and headed towards the study rooms in the university to meet up with Jungwon.
It didn't take you long to find you, a book in his hand as he stood tall looking around the library, eyes big as he tried to find you, you smiled. Walking faster to reach him you placed your hand on his shoulder jolting him from his place. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you" you covered your laugh, he shook his head, calming from the scare.
"I found an empty room" he smiled guiding you to the place he had last seen an empty place. And sure it could've been empty, but it was no longer dark and closed... but rather with a couple of people inside studying. He sighed, a pout eminent in his lips as he turned to you. "I'm sorry, I guess it was taken" you shook your head grabbing his arm.
"I'll take you to a better place" you assured him leading him out of the library and inside one of the university buildings, going to a basically abandoned place further from the entrance where almost no students went to.
Settling your things down on one of the clean desks you sat on the chair, motioning for Jungwon to sit beside you. "What do you need help with?" "Noona, are you single?" He questioned straight forward, you stared in shock, merely nodding at him, a smile stretching in his face. "I'm glad" he whispered looking down at his lap.
"I think you're very beautiful. I want to get to know you" he mumbled, eyes raising to look at yours. "You're adorable" you chuckle. "Sure, let's get to know each other, then. But about the work. Do you really need help?" you question, he shakes his head once again. "No, I just wanted to be alone with you" he confessed shyly. "Come on then" you smile standing up and grabbing your things exiting the room.
"Where?" he asks confused, catching up with you. "Lunch. To get to know each other better"

breakfast at midnight // sim jaeyun
Tumblr media
pairing : non!idol sim jaeyun x student ! reader
genre : literal pure fluff
summary : the familiar time of year was coming again. the period of time when paragraphs of information were forcefully imprinted into your mind, your eyes burned from staring intensely at the practice questions you had gotten wrong, your hands shook from the way you copied down sentences that you didn't even understand for the sake of regurgitating them. you were stressed, there was too much too study, too much going on. luckily, your study-buddy boyfriend was here to help you through sleepless nights of coffee and jumbled words.
warnings : incredibly rushed. this is based off what i'm going through right now !! i literally have history next week what am i doing.
word count : 1936 started : 30.9.22 finished : 3.10.22
"jake, should i have another cup of coffee? i'm honestly getting concerned by the way i'm chugging down these without care. how many glasses have i had...? three? but i need to stay awake, my science exams are in a couple of days and i'm definitely not prepared!"
with a loud sigh of defeat, you slumped your entire body on the desk you and your boyfriend were studying at, scattered with practice papers that had messy handwriting, textbooks that were open to random pages, models of multicellular organisms that you didn't even know the names of.
why did your study sessions always turn out like this, with you stressing over your examinations, while jake just tolerated all your complaints and whines while handing you cups of your beloved freshly brewed coffee every hour without fail?
you could be in absolute despair, racking your brain in order to remember the movement of particles in different states of matter, and jake would just sit silently beside you, looking over your shoulder to explain that the more heat that was gained by the matter, the more energy the particles would gain as well.
and while you tried to remember how on earth one drew a linear graph, tried to figure out the arrangement of the particles of a particular substance at sixty degrees celsius, attempted to recall the format of a news report, jake would be by your side, his fingers threading through your hair in a soothing manner, his chair scooted as close as possible to you.
"i think you need a break," he would urge you every once in a while, his face twisted with obvious worry. he would tug the cup of coffee away from your aching hands, reminding you gently that it wasn't very good for your health to be drinking that much caffeine.
and sometimes you would ignore him, sighing and turning back to your masses of notes. jake wouldn't object either, instead pursing his lips and going back to helping you with your studies. and the cycle would repeat as you revised until about three in the morning, until you were too exhausted to continue.
however, sometimes the urge to actually listen to his advice and take a break would actually prevail, and you'd find yourself either cuddled next to him on the bed, or sitting next to him at your dining table as he served you a slice of simplistic french toast or a small sandwich.
and honestly, as you laid your forehead onto the notes you'd made of the different physical properties of objects, you were secretly waiting for when jake would offer you a chance to rest - like he always did.
of all subjects, science had to be the most draining. it was the subject that although you studied hard, and put your entire heart and soul into trying to memorise, you'd still never manage to get what you wanted.
every time you scanned merely a single page of your notes - whether on the difference between solutions and suspensions, how the rate of evaporation was affected by external factors, or how to choose a suitable separation technique for different mixtures - it made your mind swim.
surely, in the future you wouldn't need to learn how to separate iron filings from a weird yellow powder, would you?
clenching your right fist in indignation, you scoffed, in a mix of annoyance and defeat. yeah, i highly doubt that.
"go on," murmured jake suddenly - and shockingly - , his fingers hovering over your stiff shoulders. "i can test you on each hazard if you want, you studyholic."
you snapped your head up in surprise, blinking rapidly. there was no way jake had just carelessly told you to continue studying without acknowledging how tired he could tell you were. he almost never did that. you tried to ignore how sore your eyes actually were from having had to bore them into pieces of paper, and gawked at him as if he were crazy.
fortunately, jake wore a teasing expression when you looked up, a playful gleam in his tired eyes. "i'm kidding. you reeaaallyy need a break right now. you look like you're going to faint any moment now. and health is more important than that A you want to get. sorry, not sorry, please settle for a B if getting an A means that you'll collapse both mentally and physically."
you looked down back at your cluttered notes, your gut twisting with guilt. it wasn't fair for jake that even though he had already finished his round of examination torture, he still had to stay up and help you. his prominent eyebags spoke a thousand words that you knew he would never say. the way he was sacrificing sleep for your sake made your heart twinge from both your troubled conscience and affection because of how sweet he was.
"hey, just come with me," whispered your attentive boyfriend, peeking at you as he ducked his head. in a swift motion, he slid his hand over to your trembling one, lacing your fingers together. the feeling of his warm fingers sliding against your sweaty, aching ones made you want to curl into a ball in his comfort, even if it was just a small gesture of concern.
you raised your head, meeting jake's gentle gaze, and immediately wished that you hadn't. the amount of emotion and worry you saw there was enough to make your throat tighten, and your hands trembled even more when you saw the way his eyelids drooped sleepily. he looked so exhausted - you wanted to just push him towards the bed and make him sleep while you continued to revise.
somehow, though, you couldn't bring yourself to, whether it was because you didn't want to or whether you were too energy-deprived despite the countless cups of coffee you'd downed.
unhealthy, but really, it was the taste of heaven.
when you didn't budge or make an effort to move, there was a tug on your arm as jake heaved you to your feet. at first, the sudden motion shocked you, making you stumble clumsily on your feet from having not used them for hours straight. however, when you finally got used to standing, for goodness sake, you managed to trail behind jake, who had started walking away from the desk.
your index finger remained hooked around his as he lead you out of the bedroom to your living room. it was honestly surprising how jake moved around your apartment as if he lived with you.
that's right, he didn't live with you, but he lived in the apartment complex just across the street. the small distance meant that he was able to go and stay over at yours any time he wanted. and for the past few weeks as you both struggled through your examinations, he'd come over to study with you and accompany you through all the all-nighters you pulled, through the many complaints you let out, through the piles of worksheets that seemed to never go down.
it shouldn't have been so shocking that he was able to maneuver around as if he owned the place - but it was, and it made your stomach flutter in spite of all your muscles screaming at you to get some rest.
you shivered as he threaded his hand through your sweaty hair once before seating you down on the couch with a sweet smile.
"are you hungry?"
really, it was pathetic how you instantly nodded, looking up at jake with eager eyes. but your boyfriend didn't seem to mind, instead letting out a boyish chuckle before patting your head and gesturing for you to wait for him for a while.
when he left, you scooted backwards on the leather couch, wanting to curl into a ball and just sleep all your worries away. unfortunately, more invasive thoughts of how you'd do on your exams started to poke at the barriers you'd tried to set, telling yourself to stop being so anxious all the time. after all, this wasn't the last exam that you'd take in your life, was it?
sighing shakily, you leaned back your head onto the couch, relishing the comfort that the coolness of the material gave you, refreshing your warm forehead. you knew that this amount of excessive worrying and studying was unhealthy, you knew that the volume of caffeine you drank probably made it look like you had a death wish. however, you couldn't stop yourself from falling deep into the spiraling trap that test papers brought about.
closing your eyes, you tried to think of the little time that you'd spent actually cuddling and being affectionate with jake. the caring, understanding, empathetic guy always listened to you, was always there for you, and supported you, unless it was something that genuinely made him worry. you could tell that he was struggling to tell you that your obsessive behaviour wasn't good for you.
you agreed with that, though, you really wished that you wouldn't try so hard - even though you did want to do well for your exams out of pure anxiety and pressure. jake was smart - he always aced his physics and maths tests without even batting an eyelid. you wished you were like that too, but no - you were blessed with pulsating migraines and a terrible short-term memory.
and after receiving that 61 on your last science paper, and that b4 for your geography, you had vowed never to slack again, even if your definition of slacking was a ten minute break. your only escape was nights with jake's comforting arms around you, his voice murmuring reassurances in your ear.
you were losing yourself in hazy memories before you felt a tap on your shoulder, jolting you awake instantly. you hadn't even noticed that you were drifting off.
"you're hungry, right?" jake confirmed cheerfully, bringing the plate of food closer to your nose as your eyes tried to make out what he had prepared. the slight amount of steam made your eyes water, but it brought along the aroma of warm pancakes that were recently made.
your heart throbbed again, strung with emotion as you tried to stop yourself from actually tearing. jake was so attentive and so sweet - how were you ever going to repay him? and there he was, standing in a dark room in the middle of the night, when he could very well be at his own apartment curled up in his own bed.
"jake," you whispered, as your boyfriend sat down beside you with a small sound of bubbly laughter. "you really didn't have to."
"but i did, yn," he tilted his head, and you saw the familiar understanding flash in his eyes as he handed you the plate of pancakes along with a fork. "otherwise you would never have stopped, would you?"
hesitantly, you took a bite, shaking your head begrudgingly.
"see?" laughed jake, patting your head as he scooted closer to you. "you really need to calm down, i'll help you with anything you don't understand, okay? you're talking to a straight A science student here."
"shut up. not everybody is as smart as you," you mumbled around a mouthful of your food, rolling your eyes in mock-annoyance. "but i could use the help."
at that, jake just flashed a knowing smile, shaking his head slowly. "finish your midnight snack first, sleep for at least seven hours, eat a good breakfast, and maybe i'll quiz you on how chromatography works. i saw your notes, and for goodness sake, people don't use pencils for chromatograms just because they miss primary school days."
end.
