Growing older when aroace is very somber.

My friends all around me are getting into relationships and becoming harder to contact. My dreams of growing old with friends while all living together continues to feel unreachable, because at the end of the day, it’ll be me and the many couples around me even if friends of mine would ever choose to live with or near me.

I’m not ashamed or resentful of being aroace. I’m at peace with myself and I feel relief knowing I’m not alone in how I feel. I love being aroace, I love being comfortable with myself. It just feels very lonely.

Everyone grows alongside others without you while you pine for that same priority and commitment from loved ones. I find myself wishing for a qpp, someone like me who shares the same wish, but finding one feels impossible. Accepting loneliness feels like the only real option anymore. Being with others when they can, then learning to accept being alone with yourself.

The future just feels very quiet and lonesome.

Not to submit propoganda for a character I forgot to submit to the bracket but Genis-Vell should be queer because

1) He's kind of implied to already be queer, as he had a gender-fluid shape shifter lover

2) His "romance with"/"crush on" Songbird read like he really really wanted to feel things for her but he just didnt- the whole thing seemed pretty aromantic to me

3) what is being intristically bound to someone on a cosmic level but a qpp at the end of the day

And finally and most importantly 4) it would be funny to me personally if all Mar-Vell's children were queer.

It's gotten better over time but it still hurts a lot that I can't be fully out to my family. They know I'm aroace, don't understand it but let me be. What they don't know is that I've been in a qpp with my childhood friend for the past 7 years, and they don't know that that said friend is trans.

They're really transphobic and already dislike my partner because they're disabled and think they're a burden on me. I just wish I could actually be myself, talk about one of the biggest aspects of my life without fear. I LOVE my partner, I want to marry them and be with them for the rest of my life but I am so so scared that means I will lose my family. It's easy to say "you'd be better off without them" when it happens to other people, but that's like asking me to carve out a piece of my heart.

When push comes to shove I will choose my partner over my family, but it is so cruel of them to make me choose. Why can't they just be happy that I've found my other half? Why can't they just be happy for me?

I once told my mother that I was happy being aroace and single and asked if she could ever be happy for me, and she said no because it breaks her heart to imagine me alone forever. But then the other day she joked about how I could marry whoever I wanted, except for my actual partner. When she saw my expression she insisted more seriously that I was not allowed to marry them specifically. I wish I could make my family stop hating them, I wish I could tell them how happy I am, how complete I feel, but how can I ever feel safe telling them?

I've seen you giving advice and I have a question. what if I don't age regress but I want a caregiver dynamic? Is that a thing that exists? What if I want someone to speak very gently to me as the adult I am, and help me through things I struggle with- but the things are "job applications" and "submitting a thesis proposal" and "coordinating several doctor's appointments", not stuff like pouring juice? I wish someone could sit down with me while I do my uni work and be like "wow, great job on that graph, I know that analysis was super hard, don't you want to get your statistics done too?"

It sounds like you just want a loving partner 😂😂 nothing wrong with that at all. This sounds in line with a QPP (queer platonic partner) or a platonic partner in general.

The best advice I can give is to be open about the type of comfort you'd like from a partner or a friend, and find someone willing to be parental without the actual physical parenting part.Beimg an emotional caregiver is absolutely a thing, in fact some regressors prefer to do things like pour their own juice, but they need someone to give them the praise and love they didn't receive as a kid. That kind of stuff ^-^

I wanted to submit the song "Simon Was" by Petrojvic Blasting Co.

The band has very good music (side-note, I heavily suggest for anyone curious to listen to their song "Princess Andy," it gives me major gender vibes), but the song feels aro to me in a way of the singer living in a quite queerplatonic way with his best friend Simon (who the song is mostly about), and then later moving away from Simon, since the singer doesn't feel like that's the kind of life for him either or anymore, even when it was hard for him to say goodbye to his friend (or qpp if you interpret it as such); also one of the themes in the song is holding onto the memories of the people who have affected you in your life, which definitely includes best friends.

The singer goes on to state how he knew he would find difficulty in breaking away from Simon, but decided to "Be strong, don't let your mind change" with him saying to himself, "But no one is gone" as a way to cope, because he'll still at least have his memories of Simon.

It's a rather bittersweet song imo
